Baltimore county lawmakers are pushing back after county executive John de laszewski and Baltimore mayor Brandon Scott say they're considering taking over 600,000 gallons of toxic water from last month's east palestin, Ohio, railroad chemical disaster. The toxic waste would be sent into the back river wastewater treatment pad in Dundalk if the plan goes through. The county delegates and Ryan questioned the treatment plant's ability to process the water. Mayor Scott says officials have received assurances from both the EPA and the state that the Dundalk plant is capable of treating the water. Set a majority leader Chuck Schumer says there's a new drug American should be concerned about the DEA issued alert for xylazine, a legal drug used by veterinarians as an anesthetic. But when mixed with fentanyl, heroin or other drugs, xylazine causes a stronger high. Schumer addressed reporters on Sunday.
