Police chief: No reason to fire Wisconsin officer who killed teen
"The police chief of Wall Hotel. So Wisconsin has seen protests and unrest since an officer was cleared of criminal wrongdoing in the fatal shooting of a black teen last February and saying today he sees No reason why the officers should be fired. Wallet tells the police and fire commissioner is considering firing Officer Joseph MENSA, who is also black. Mayor Dennis McBride says each night has become more peaceful than the night before, but there have been some arrests. The majority of them were for curfew, but there were some other violations in there as well. MENSA was killed, has killed two other people in the line of duty fatally shot 17 year old Alvin Cole outside the Mayfair Mall in one week tells a Milwaukee county's district attorney announced last week. MENSA would not be charged and calls death in his report. He know that officer said call pointed a gun at them and refused to drop it and that MENSA could successfully argued he fired in self defense.
No charges against Wisconsin officer who fatally shot teen
"Charges will be filed against WalMart tells the police officer Joseph MENSA for the fatal shooting of Alvin Cole outside Mayfair Mall last February. Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisum says men says use of deadly force was necessary and that he would not be able to disprove self defense calls Family attorney Kimberly Motley, speaking afterwards that they will continue to fight for a conviction, saying that the shooting was justified. And that's really important because normally for these things if he believes that he will say that Motley also points out an independent investigation into Mensah's three past officer involved shootings should be enough to get him fired. MENSA currently on suspension, protesters were able to get onto the interstate system around the market interchange this evening following word of the MENSA decision W. T. M. J's Alex Crow, frustration and anger, those two emotions shown most by protesters. After finding out that what we toast the police officer Joseph Menzah would not face charges for the shooting death of Alban Cole. Those protesters immediately started marching towards the interstates in a clash with police occurring on the on ramp police arresting several protesters before they got onto the on ramp. "I think that it's worth remembering people like Thomas Harris who as well who also died a violent death thousand people sought out danger partly because they were drawn to the danger but also to help everybody else and to help win the war. So on that happy note. I wish you good morning. Good afternoon. Enjoy the rest of your day off make your way south to Green Park Station. If you are doing this one for real and you will find the Jubilee line waiting for you or there are many buses that run along Piccadilly to all directions. This walk is freely available as a podcast took ever. You can also go to Spies of London UK to see more articles and other information and to sign up for the newsletter and free content. I am available for hire for private groups for bachelor and bath Red parties stag and hand birthdays and any other special occasion people are less nervous when they're in a group of friends that they know and they ask more questions. And that's one thing I'm missing on these podcasts is the interaction the question. So if you go along to expose of London and sign up I will figure out a way that you can ask your questions about the topics on this world and I can answer them really easily. That way we can build up a library of questions and I'm also thinking because we're not tied to a particular generation or location that we might add some more locations on to this walk that I couldn't quite fit into the job of fee when I did this for real in-the-flesh. So look out for more content from a phone now, but our next stop is going to be a different part of London the soe walk cuz I really like that around Baker Street and that would be coming up in September. Thank you for listening and stay tuned..

"Shepherd market and you will soon see the graves pop up on the left take a left at the grapes walking North now back to Curzon Street on your left of the C-Max Brothers the red book shop and I'd like you to stop outside Mike's brothers and look across the road across Curzon Street. You will see Heywood Hill on your left and g o f off at the Barber's on your right. The reason for stopping here is that I believe this must be where John le carre has stopped when he was thinking of the scene in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy when George smiling nice Robbie Martin Devon, George Smiley is clearly the colors best known character. He was played by Alec Guinness in the TV series in the 70s and by golly Element in the recent feature film multi Martindale is the drunk who likes a long lunch and is not exactly George Smiley's normal cup of tea and they bump into each other quite accidentally so off smiling is on his way to Heywood Hill Bookshop to sell an old grimmelshausen German novel in German. I think it's the first edition. The reason he's doing this is that his divorce from and lay down Smiley is taking a long time and she seems to have control of the bank accounts. So he's only access to Ready Cash is to start selling off his rare book collection. So here's walked from by Water Street in Chelsea is home through the rain book under his arm and he's about to arrive at Heywood Hill. So I believe he would have either emerged from the archway where you now stand or probably from a long career some street from the west and he's about to walk over towards Heywood Hill to go in and Rowdy comes out of trump as having had his haircut probably had a few bottles of wine already. He shouts at George they have a conversation Rowdy encourages George off to a nice day. Restaurants so that could well have been in Shepherd Market behind you one of the many restaurants that you've seen there. They have a long lunch that goes off into the evening and George Smiley accidentally leaves the rare book in the restaurant and he doesn't collect life until the end of the book. He never made it to Heywood Hill that day and the rest is history as they say he goes on the mole hunt. The rest of the book is quite clearly based on Kim philby. So George never sucked into Heywood Hill Heywood Hill is famous for many reasons. You might be able to see the blue plaque which shows that Nancy mitford worked there one of the famous mitford sisters a famous novelist. And of course the sister of unity home a relationship with that off Hitler and the sister of Diana who married Oswald Mosley. So Heywood Hill has its own literary backstory there. It's cold war and indeed World War II back story and it has a secret place a special place in the stories of John le carre. I suspect John le carre had his hair cut at trumper's and bought a few books in Hayward Hill when he was working at Lincoln field house. Just along the road. This is my favorite song. But on the Walk we're nearly at the end. Now, there's only one official stop left. I like it because I can quite easily imagine than the young John le carre a building up his Archive of scenes and applications ready for his first book of indeed. Tinker Tailor was well into his career, but grimmelshausen Trump has Heywood Hill these places Purdy's appear in many of his works. So take a last look at Hayward. He'll take a look through the window and Mags Brothers, which has some really rare and very valuable items in there and then walk along cars and straight to the East and take a right down Half Moon Street right. Now your walk almost the end of Half Moon Street. Certainly Beyond half way, you will walk past the Hilton keep on the right side the west side of the street so that you can see the Flemings Hotel clearly often been a lot of building work going on here. It's still as the boundary of Shepherd Market is still a very highly sought-after location. You'll see it's a fairly quiet straight, even though you can see Piccadilly running along the end at the South Pole. It's being redeveloped. But Fleming's hotel has been here from very many years. It's nothing to do with Ian Fleming is famous in Espionage circles. The hotel is very nice. We actually did the photoshoot in the bar of that hotel foyer. The first set of spy walks that I did with Airbnb and it's a really nice bar. It's a basement bar and it's called manetta's these are all very interesting things because a basement bar has no windows down there for it was used by a so eight people like they're Atkins to meet her spies her agents and debrief them before they perhaps went off for a longer meeting in one of the flats and officers around Shepherd Market wage. So manetta's was attractive because it had no windows, but what I found when we were doing the photoshoot for the Spy walks was it has no phone reception either. So we had to keep going outside to get the photographers with the signal so we can talk to him. And so I find it interesting that there's a bar with no windows and no cell phone signal where you can meet spies right in the middle of London just off Piccadilly Fleming's hotel is also in dog. Because it was the home of Bertie Wooster and I got the Christy has connections to the hotel as well. They believe it is the model for Bertram's hotel in Agatha Christie. Although other hotels claim that credit as well the likelihood is that as she did stay here when she was in London quite often that at least some elements of this hotel that you're looking at today have made it into her stories as part of Bertram's although I am not a spy writer as such you do find a crossover between mystery stories and spying a lot of spy novels are actually mystery novels that happen to have some Espionage content. If you believe anything on Wikipedia, you will know that bathrooms hotel is popularly believed to have been inspired by Brown's Hotel. However, it's the Oxford dictionary of national biography that suggests Fleming's because Agatha Christie was known to stay at Fleming's Fleming's is one of my fave hotels in this area because it's so little known it's kind of you have to be in a certain group of people to really know about it. They might disagree. It's been there for over a hundred years. I think it's been on this app. Right, since it opened in 1851. It certainly is an old enough building and it looks like could well have been and they really play up on their spy connections. The bar is lovely. It's a really nice place to finish the walk but we never did on the Airbnb walk was actually going for a drink because the cocktails are a little expensive but if you have to budget if you're here traveling to the UK on a holiday, it's definitely worth going in and getting a beer or a cocktail in my office bar in the basement of Fleming's before I had my soe World War Two walk. I also used to talk here about Christina skarbek because she was one of the soe agents that Vera Atkins would have run and probably met in a hotel and the wonderful biography of Christina by Claire male is definitely worth a read I will be reviewing that book The Spy Who Loved by Claire Molly in a future episode of spies of London, but I mention it because this whole War can indeed most of my walks are about a time a period of time when all the spies and agents were men. But talking about soe is a chance to talk about the women because dead Most of the men who were able to were fighting in the regular army navy and Royal Airforce in the second world war. And so the women got left behind they were meant to be making tanks and missiles but some of them especially the foreign with with the people who had left France Eastern Europe in extremely dangerous circumstances wanted to get home and they wanted to get home as quickly as possible and they didn't want to be planting potatoes and people, you know, skarbek who was almost an olympic-level skier was an absolute modern-day hero. She put herself in danger many times and many of their Atkins agents were women many of them were executed by the Germans when they were captured. There is an SLE Memorial in Lambeth and we might cover that in the forthcoming city of London walk Fleming's has that part in the history. It's not near the soe offices, but it off by Vera and others and it does give me a chance to mention that particularly during the war not so much afterwards, but during the war was the first time when women were put into these non-uniformed wage. Dangerous situations pretty much of their own free will in many cases they felt like they had a duty to liberate their own countries, but there were also British women who put themselves forward as well who didn't want to do a safety job. The story of Christina in particular is worth a look Christina died a violent death in London after the war and.

There's been ongoing protests in Wauwatosa even before the George Floyd situation over this, that and the other thing and They have focused locally on the case of Officer Joseph MENSA, who is the police officer who shot and killed a man who, armed with a stolen gun was part of a group that was causing a disturbance and running toward Mayfair Mall. "Roof. How are you? I'm very well. How are you good? I went to the river cafe. I don't know fifteen twenty years ago and it took quite a while to there on the tube from downtown London but it was a marvellous location and a marvelous dinner. But you started really as a a sandwich place. I guess a commissary in your introduction to your new Book Thirty Years River Cafe. The quote is the River Cafe and his clientele are seriously diminishing the tone of area. What do you want to just explain what that meant? When we started the river cafe really it was a site of what used to be An oil refinery in London on the river with votes outside and at my husband who's architect was we were lived in Paris for five years when he was doing the Pompidou Centre. When we came back to London. We wanted to find a place that could be a community so that he could set up his architectural practice again. In place through there was a mix so it was a outside space as I said. We were on the river. They converted these warehouses into rather beautiful studios and offices are picture frames model makers dress designers and always. We always wanted to have a place where people could eat and I was working as a graphic designer. And Ed Always Cook but when the applications came in we thought you know what why are worse than not having a restaurant would be not to have a very good one and I just said I think I'll do it and I'll do with rose gray. Who's an old friend and had also come back from New York? I'm wanting to do something. So the two of US came and looked at the the site and it was tiny. It was enough. Maybe a bar tiny little kitchen and six tables. But the real restriction was that we're only allowed to be open for lunchtime because the neighbors who actually had oil warehouses here up in arms about the idea of a small restaurant so the planners that said we could be open Monday to Friday. We could only be open for lunch and only open to the people who worked and these warehouses. So that's where the sandwich bar. That's where the inexpensive very tiny little place started. But I think Rosen. I always had the ambition to be an Italian restaurant to be a proper restaurant. We just had to do it gradually. Here's a question. Sometimes you just leave something allowed like in your book very often. You don't add a lot of strong. Flavors is something that has a wonderful flavor to begin with you have a Dover Sole Rescue Capers in Marjoram Dover sole is often serve which brown butter and butter something very simple olive oil but capers in March. Very strong flavors is that how do you know as a cook when you? WanNa add strong flavors to something and other times? You don't is that something just whimsical. Or I think it depends. Well first of all depends on your mood. Sometimes I come into the river cafe because you know we changed the menu twice a day and if I have Dover sell on the menu I bite think well what am I going to put with the Dover so I might just put lentils with it today and therefore might like something interesting on the top like capers. I think as a cook the first thing I think about when I write the menu is what what do I feel like eating today. What would I want to eat? And that's one of the joys of working in the river cafe or I think I hope coming here so I think as you know the same thing we say. If you're cooking at home what what do you feel like eating and also not go shopping with a recipe in your head but go to the market. Go to the supermarket go to shop. See what's there and then you know the home and cook you know. A lot of chefs. Do a lot of different things. Jose entrees has twenty three restaurants Jeremiah Tower obviously you know moved around started things enclosed things. You've been doing this thirty years or so. Alice waters has been doing her GIG for forty years. Do you have a feeling about people like yourself who stick with it who start something and just keep getting better at it forces people who move around. Did you think one is better than the other widely? You love for thirty years doing this one thing. It obviously still excites you. By the way you're you're talking about your restaurant that's a good question. I think that it depends for me. It's about ambition and control. You know so I really. I've been asked to other restaurants. I've looked at other sites. We came very close to doing another restaurant. A couple of years ago and Mayfair and I'm always thinking about how to grow how to how to be better and sometimes I think that for me. It's about being better where we are. It's about everyday come in with a set of problems or or thinking about what to cook how to make the restaurant. Beautiful and how to make the waiters more knowledgeable in how to work with the chefs. Who want to learn more about ingredients in how to make our pastry kitchen know. There's so many so many things to do in the restaurant here that would it be possible to do it and have more. Some people really can do it for me. It would be really just so important to know that I if I did another restaurant that it would be as good as this one and this one. Wouldn't you know get less good because I was distracted by another one so I never thought of it as sticking with it because for me I have the best job in the world and I come in and I work with brilliant people and it's exciting

run it by not the Mayfair business affirmative strict they love it all right well I mean there's all the different places there we'll just we'll go into one of the places I've been more making Mayfair thirty telling recording a podcast here you guys yeah sure we my brother and I when he was in high school he had to do this senior project and he he made a movie and we went to waffle house there's one in Elkton Maryland like right at the top of Maryland and we filmed in there for two hours and they never asked one question not even the patron no my roommate college roommate had giant like these giant aren't sunglasses that were bigger than his face and was wearing cat ears during the movie filming and they may never said one word to be fair I I think that kind of stuff probably isn't that outlandish in a while I don't want to you what the right place Erika Miami's up next what's up Eric hi guys first of all when I called just go down with Joe well how just brought back memories for me I'm going to date myself Dick Allen of the former Phillies first baseman got into it with the fans and went on for in a week or two he was swallowing messages within the infield dirt for the fans he actually wrote blue which of course the fan did he wrote October second which was the last day of the year and we could contract was going to be up he would go to the boat would be able to get out of the Philly was much much worse even world coke if I remember in the dirt which could you wanted to hit a home run over the coke sign so we would shut the fan belts the president was nowhere near as bad as what went on with Dick Allen I I somebody must discuss sometime last week but that don't I remember most people here most people here are just trying to make up for that the guilt of that by trying to it's that repeatedly trying to get take out into the hall of fame because they feel bad about thirty years of guilt yes yes there's a lot of yeah he should be your who is out it but anyway when you have it it's really unfortunate that this has happened and it was predictable as we talked about last week the Joe well might it might late last week Joe well might opt out and you know it's it's really a function of the dysfunctional organization and quite frankly pop up in your world in the handle the best way but I'm going to go a step further if I'm sure well and his agent well Leon rose about world war going on road I would have never let it get to this point I would have gone in and said to management you will hear her get the proper players around my guy or I want to now here I would have done it quietly with the weather come to this point and quite frankly I'm surprised that that they didn't do that either well must want to be here otherwise they would have I gotta be honest with you I don't think we are we are too far from that I I truly don't I I I as I mentioned on the pod I I think there are the two options really here are they go to the finals or they clean house in the front office and actually treat people to build a team that he feels is suited to him or I think that could happen and let me tell you not not that did the next can just have whatever they want but Leon rose being in charge of player personnel for the next changes is an enormous thing that he said for anyone who doesn't know Leon rose is basically that the biggest agency AAA is which is where Joel Embiid is is represented I that's a thing man that's going to become a thing yes if this doesn't get cleaned up the one thing that this whole incident has shown some light on and it's starting to get some publicity apart from you when I talk about on the air for two and a half years it's how we can't kill switch incompetent idiotic and so but the but the management and ownership has been I'm yours it's starting to your people are starting to open their eyes and understand you know how bad Josh hours I've been in the north it's the only reason that that they're not thought of white James Dolan or Robert Sarver are is that they're not out there you know acting like clowns in public you know kicking in Charles Oakley out of having to go to defecating in the office and having all these ridiculous incidents that we know of that a note of that will be on your way as a broken that's exactly the point that's exactly the point those two guys have the space Josh Harris really has not put a face on all that we can identify as being the person in charge of doing things that are just outlandish it's very easy for for fantasy we don't even know who's in charge we don't which is part of what part of the problem it is the whole thing and I and we appreciate the phone call that that is always the problem that we've talked with that many times like the the it the top of the organization filters down to the bottom and and I feel like we as fans of got caught up in this cabin in new castle what's up cabin how we doing what's on your mind a lot of our look man this is my thing hi this is Lorraine I'm out now but I'm I'm I'm just uses to stay focused I invested four specs in the chain gang plank my sweet is right next to Benjamin bass we whatever he does or Residency pairs aspiring restaurateurs with temporary sites
"Today we meet the team behind residency. A new initiative assistive to pay or vacant restaurant spaces with emerging culinary talents launched in London. The new enterprise already looking to go into national with the mission to support young talent and budding entrepreneurs can me. Let's opium of restaurants consultancy districts and sip fork of restaurant experts. Montana Montana fog are co founder of residency. And I met them here at Majoria. Oh studio one to find out. More residents say is an initiative which we have creates it which pass up and coming chef superclubs new concept's any sort of emerging thing and food and beverage or hospitality with vacant spaces basis at the moment across the capital but our ultimate jets viz and beyond and through our combined expertise so it's a residency is a collaboration between between district. which is a property restaurant? consultantcy Montana fog which is a restaurant. Consultancy and through combined expertise we can create pop-ups ups and empty spaces very easily. We have contacts with landlords because district says a property business. A Montana can support the operators on the ground and enable the space for operators to go in and start trading. So how did you find each other. What kind of discussions did you have when this idea was born? Well we've nine furlongs. I have yeah we have. I think we first met when my partner and I were looking to open a restaurant or committed was advising us and thankfully we didn't do the deal not through any issue with Camilla ritual. It was the wrong space the wrong concept at the wrong time which is a restaurant consultant but then we work together on a project for the crown estate and had assault on Heddon street which was ironically the property like you offer done or any love it and synergy edge we and then we came together and they had a site where that essentially the keys are being put through the letterbox in the previous tendency unfortunate made it and they had a site that was fitted the Dow and ready to go and they didn't know what to do with it really they'd been thinking for a long time about how they could launch some finish itself which is something we are seeing from landlords now because if you were wind a few years back when a new site came up with an estate in central London landlords always wanted the latest new concept concept the newest operator and since then has been a few burnt fingers so in terms of pushing brand new concept landlords our little bit more cautious about that mom so they are thinking of ways that they can do that without perhaps taking on a long term risk without of committing so when ten had in st came back to the landlord new I think one of the stories I think sub told me was that they only bought some new carafe when St when and everything else was was there and it's provided a great opportunity to trial the poop concept and so the crown at hired Montana fog and district separately and district in terms of helping helping with some sort of strategic direction but also in terms of doing the licensing making sure that all the documentation and Montana fog to find the operators and support them on the ground from day one so basically what you're doing now you're looking for these spaces and he also looking forward to preneurs budding restos operators. I would like to take over the spaces for some time. What kind of conditions are we talking about? How long would this pop ups for example? And what kind of operators are you looking game for. Exactly it depends side-by-side how long the pop-up lost with Tennessee. I think we are moving into month. Eight seven and Republican another three or four months. We'll see so it depends on the landlord. I mean typically day-old Adage from restaurateurs is once you found this all you want twelve months later you'll open the door was that's how long it takes to sometimes raise the money to get your lease. Signed your heads of terms obviously to fit it out so adama landlord or have an empty site. It could be there for a year before I'm actually GonNa say that open again so we can activate that site pretty much within a week to week turnaround. Make sure it's fit for purpose and get an operator in there. And they could trade their quite happily for four to five months whilst unseen the new incoming operator who takes a full lease is doing doing the negotiations with the landlord. Millennials have let so I activated is very flexible model rarely because some operators will want to go in for four to six months and north of gang of presence in makes him return perhaps but others will perhaps wants to do a supper club or decently much shorter term or might be happy. Just go in somewhere for a week to Derby PR and some of the landlords that we're actually talking about our existing operators already have to activate spaces particularly helium pumps and they could be much shorter. Say It's bespoke and it's flexible. An in terms of your other question of what sort of entrepreneurs are we looking for. The Sky's is the limit. We've had interest from a large very well. Funded American Vegan concept. which is very edgy? We've had interest from people who've superclubs in Hackney these people some of well funded and well back to existing. Operators is the ones that aren't who would have a great concept on great passion Russian but to get in front of a landlord to get a lease for ten to fifteen years. No way you ever going to be up to do that. Unless you've got some very very well funded ended backers of which most people don't because the banks unfortunately won't be lending anyone any money for quite a while for the smaller operations and this gives us the opportunity he to educate the operator in terms of how a landlord works. We should very much district comes and for us the Montana folks of of residency to work with them and help them and with the figures look concept introducing to suppliers etc etc.. Actually so there is a lot of support available when you choose. The operator so veto need to be worried about north knowing everything takes yeah. I think that's our biggest point of difference is it's three hundred. Sixty degree support system. Why there will be people who the first people we've introduced a ten Heddon street with David Carter from smoke stack and Chris Leach who worked at Bratton cooked lots of different places? How much support do they need? Not a great deal to be honest with you because they're incredibly experience but moving forward when we take someone from WHO's done of a food stall pop pop somewhere. They will need to understand how the western works because the West End Actually David. Chris did put their hands up and admit that the learning experience of coming from east blondel shortage into what is basically mayfair. Soho borders different world. Because lunch is a big thing. Lunch makes the difference. It doesn't make you a millionaire China but without lunch you really suffer if you're in the west end but you cost this much higher You've been following London restaurant scene for years. How has it changed changed? And what are your predictions. What is going to be happening in the future and always the landscape changing thing? We've seen this of past. Few years is a huge increase in the number of restaurants in London and this was sort of lead from consumer trend to solve. Eat out more and with the sort of casual dining lining crunch the so called and they changing political landscape confidence decreased and the oversupply of restaurants. Met not this wasn't in any way sustainable stable anymore. So that's when we started to see like restaurants going back to landlords and whilst the market is still very vibrant. There's loads of new. You operators out there that wants to take on site and central London. There's nowhere near as many as there was before and what it's done is created a survival of the fittest backdrop so the good restaurants still still trading while and a very very good and another thing. That's sort of is in between nether is is suffering. We've also seen rents go very very high because of the lack of supply of restaurant

I. P. which is Andy Reid appreciation it will gets all that but I want to start with this so we are and and I'll get this right we are eight days away from the NBA trade deadline in February six three PM next Thursday next Thursday three o'clock is the NBA trade deadline the Sixers I I think it is almost impossible to believe they're gonna do nothing with this roster I I think they will have a new player I don't they they have the capital to get your three players nor the roster spots but they're they're going to get some sort of help and they should get some sort out between now and next Thursday Joe I gotta take about this about this trade deadline I've been thinking about it yeah I think about the Sixers a lot more than any human should think about the Sixers that isn't on the six but that's your thing watch all the games if I have to miss the game because my wife doesn't watch or something I watch it the next morning I do that to to podcasts every week the right circumstances podcast I think about seven thing about the trade and I've had a lot of opinions about the Sixers this year and with that the opinion I've come to about the trade deadline is that the Sixers should not do anything I don't think they should trade for Derrick rose I don't think they should trade for Robert Covington as much as I would celebrate that I I don't think they should trade for shooter I don't think you should trade for ball him there I don't think they should trade for anybody I I think this for two reasons basically first of all I think this team is a major move away from being right from being perfect not perfect but from being a team that I think is eight the most serious contender for champion a real channel engine right they're not making that trade now and I just think going into this offseason they need just about every asset they can to sweeten the pot because it's going to take trading Horford or trading harassed or moving on unless it's Josh Richardson they're they're gonna need an extra first round pick they're gonna need an extra second I'll pick they might need that lan a pick they have that second round pick from Atlanta I think they need everything and I think the truth of the matter is and I'm not over rating these players I don't think but when I look at guys like natto or Trey Burke or or court mas and and I see these guys I just don't think who ever they're going to trade for at the deadline is a significant upgrade enough over who they have that it's worth potentially ruining a serious deal this summer and like I don't again I don't I don't think he was the I don't think hold that is the guy that you want with the ball in his hands at the end of the game well last night last night was great brothers first half yeah right I don't think Trey Burke is that guy I don't know if I want to give say that I'm super confident with them winning a championship when the best shooter on the team is for Concord mass but I will say that at the end of a playoff game I I just don't think this team is going to ride on Derrick rose the creating a championship shot right whoever they trade for is not going to be the person who is going to lead them all the way the person who's going to lead them all the way is going to be emptied or Simmons or or to harass or Richardson it's one of those guys and if the guy at the trade deadline is that the person who's making that the difference and being that what I think they need the ball handler in the last five minutes of the game then then everything else is cooked then it's a disaster and I outside of it a shocking trade for Chris Paul or or something like that that would happen at the deadline the trades that we're talking about the desire and by the way you know we're talking about their Smith and he's not ready but all you can think about over the next five years as with all the salary on this team they're going to need contributors who don't make any money of course they're going to need for account quickly as making league minimums are gonna need desire Smith making four million whatever they need yes they're gonna need me to stop making three million so I say go with what you've got check out the the the the the buyout market after the trade deadline and and take your best shot but really going to this offseason with your your your chamber full of whatever you have left to make the right trade to really make this team perfect so I I disagree and I disagree strongly here's why I can't waste a season spike and what your proposal although I I hear you saying whoever they get is not gonna move the needle that much I mean that they're effectively throwing their hands up and telling us we can't really make a run this year no I would say all right but I I disagree this team right now as they are make a deep run in the playoffs yes how we talk well but do you think in a seven game series the they can beat the heat like a reasonable chance yeah yes do you think the end result has to be the Celtics the raptor the Pacers yes okay you don't think you wouldn't give the Sixers team a thirty five percent chance of beating the box in the Eastern Conference finals I mean there somewhere around there sure I I think maybe the last okay so getting to the finals whoever they trade for is not going to beat the clippers thank you I I I just are we increasing their odds for beating the box from thirty five percent to forty two percent maybe but I think in in that trade what you're doing is you're going you are potentially and think about the history of trades for this team over the last two years they overpay for everything everything they're consistent about that report I never trade so whoever they trade for they're going to overpay for before this deadline and you you're gonna go into this and by the way Josh churches in great asset you going to do this offseason with only one year left on his deal or or whatever it is every game he plays he's worth a little bit less as a trade because you have less contract and they're gonna have to pay it so couple things will you just talked about you know how much chance they have to be always Eastern Conference teams that are in the mix with them I think their odds increase significantly if they can get up to the two or three C. there five right now sure two and a half game separate them from I guess Toronto is that you see right now they're so good at home if they get the two like I I would kindly say they're gonna go to the Eastern Conference finals that they would they they have their great at home I think they're going to get to I'll be I'm not even super optimistic about this team but I think they're gonna get that well well that's important because that I and I I think another player an asset would help them win these they're playing a lot of games coming up the next few weeks against some of these teams like yourself in the schedules box in the schedule like these games will matter head to head so I don't want to give up on what the season could be and the other part is I don't know how many years Joel Embiid has we have this conversation every year and I it just bothers me to waste or potentially waste the best chance they have in each year it's like this is what when you have a player like you own beat who five years from now I don't know if he's even playing if he's playing at a high level of these is a good player right now he's back and he's healthy in his knees and feet are okay I I don't want to give up on that and not at the scene just it feels like most teams that win do do something at the trade deadline I I think there's also a mental aspect to like a boost to the team right by the the raptor last year added mark assault and and they had somebody who also they're they're Marcus all markets all's yet is a huge enough to compete yet they're not adding markets that searchers aren't any market sell and and by the way the the box went and treated for a nickel a mere **** treated I think four seconds from here to us and then it up losing in the conference championships at a conference finals and they had the best the best record in the league I just I don't know I I don't know that whatever gap is between the Sixers and the box but with the Bucks are on pace to win seventy one and a half game this is best seen that no one talks about like there incredible the box score eighty eight points in the first half last night Yanis didn't play they scored a hundred fifty points and Yanis didn't play I think Chris Middleton at fifty one points last it's it's crazy there for their forty one in six this reminds me of when the the warriors took that leap except the words were story like what other jump shooting teams that Christian all these three but no one cares about the box it it's very strange eight eight seven two nine nine four nine four spike wanted him to stand Pat the deadline I say no what they have to do something to improve the nod one more thing for the phone lines typically in the NBA the best teams win yeah there's no there's not many upset there's not these crazy things that happen so if you're a five four three two seed you may not have a chance really compared to the ones you like the box but I think there is something that happened last year that we can't ignore it happened and I don't know what the odds happens again or again the next twenty years but part of the reason why the raptor one is injuries derailed the best team Kevin Durant went down and Klay Thompson went down and I I just don't want to get your scenario with the Sixers did nothing to improve and we get the Eastern Conference finals and Yanis rolled his ankle and there's an opportunity there and they still lose to the box part of the reason that the raptor one was that the warriors at at injuries part of the reason they want is because they have the best player in the NBA yeah so they sure let's not forget that because it was a big part Jeff is in Phoenix so what's up Jeff good evening guys Joe spike how are you guys doing good Jeff what's up tonight Hey I agree with you Joe I don't agree with you just want you know just one time when it really well one died I do yeah what you ate big got to do something and and you could I just think that sitting in general won't let this fly if they do absolutely nothing to keep the team the way it is I mean yeah having tree broke on the team what's that what's that got force nothing I guess for come all the credit in the world he shooting the lights out let me let me fired up let it go it but you know it baby they need something to go at just as Nick move the needle and I've said it before I'll say it again I went there closer to not take very much to get which I can't imagine it would because it you know H. number one whatever you wanna call it he's not he went way hold on yeah this is this is that I Jeff I want to agree with you just once I I thank you thank you here's here's what I would say at this is me who loves Philadelphia and the program director W. I. P. we love to say this player would make the difference in us making a run for a championship but also this player won't cost much to get so we I I I so I'm I'm trying to it shows that it shouldn't write it well I'm trying to reconcile it I think Derrick rose at thirty years old only making seven million dollars at a with as well as he's playing I don't think it's going to cost nothing that that I guess that's what I would say but I can say this I'd rather have get grossly say Mike Scott I rather have their grows then several players on the team plus the fact that Josh is gonna be out for another week week and a half maybe two weeks not bad hamstring is you know you can you can jump in starting lineup whatever and he ate I'll take him at the end of the game with a Polish hands verses Ben Simmons with a bonnet stands at the end of the game which we know that you have because they don't want to give them dollars a line there's none that he's done he's got his his game winning shots before in Chicago and he's acting did it a couple days ago for for for a reading the overtime fully lawyer but he got it you got to go in with over time no the loss but yeah that's not the point but you know better than coming to how you would be better to come coming to may be on the Lakers with a look at him now so I don't know how that.

"You by the Mayfair business improvement district make it may may I changed a little bit there you know what it's okay Hey I'm John workshop in it right here here and so we will have it down Pat Tucker do you have a version of it not yet I'm by the end of the show to agree on a price writers I will have that for talk by Tucker I what your calls coming up as well eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four as we try to figure out if we can enjoy the Sixers team or not all year was going to complain about what they're not which is right now they don't agree to the seven three play tonight we'll talk about the game which interestingly enough is gets mark helpful tonight and your lan a magic later on this hour we'll talk about that but right now this team is not great but I am trying I I'm doing my best your I'm trying to enjoy the ride and I'm being beaten down by negativity by facts and figures about this team what they're not and who they're not and it's just it's it's frustrating Robert and watched intelligence could help me out what's up Robert hi you don't I got a different take on this year out you know it's a long season the Cleveland game is a tough one of this going to be more those tough games but the difference being is rigid teams the teams that are going to be there at the end of the teams that win those games and they won that game and to me that was a big low because they were down by about six points a lot lot lot of time not a lot of time left and they found a way to pull that came out that to me is a sign of a good team I like bands that I like is games you know you your teams all this on the balls to go around we want to worry about that with Ben Simmons because he's distributing them still still dating that ball of people and that gives everyone the chance to keep the shot what you got this kind of know you that for free that's no you get free Burke there's no real need to with its new I mean for king court must never got the place almost like he's new so it takes some time never played ten games of people want to fire Brett brown and his team stinks now hello this team I think we're going to be there this year one account let me ask you some broader robber gets and he loves let me have some Robert did you watching Benson is is he look what what does he look at what does he look better at this year then he was last year well it's only been playing games and I know that I I I I forget about it's only been ten games I got in and watch basketball right Portland trail Blazers crunch time two big free throws the shooting percent from the line six percentage time when he had to make those shots he buried though shot I needed to make them he made them now that's not our he needs to make them everyday I I'm glad you know it's reality I mean I mean I mean if you know Robert Robert here's the only thing I'll say I'm glad you're enjoying it but the whole when he needed to make them eat he made it it's it's like random when you shoot fifty percent sometimes you may miss two in a row and sometime you make to like if you could just decide to make too then he should decide to make to every time you shoot that's we appreciate that the math fifty percent is bad I did some terrible any like look at I'm not going to he is good at a lot of things shooting free throws like in crunch time because it happened to it did for Concorde plus just say okay it's time to make it three just specifically make that three that against the did against Toronto yeah a report when he's trying to make all of his free throws frustrating part I have been in the free to thing is in that okay AZ capable of hitting big once a clutch ones I I don't know but he but he doesn't get him enough you need to get to more the free throw line more and make more free throws yeah we were I was talking with rich Hoffman last night until after the game because it looked like in in in fast breaks that Simmons does not is not as effective as he was and we couldn't figure out because it looks like what he does is he goes in the lane then ends up just passing it backwards the root rich mentioned is without having reddit reddit was always good on a break a going to the corner I went to the break or something and there was it would spread the court out a little bit and give Simmons a better path to the lane I would also give him an option on the side he doesn't have it this year which I think that's you know I'm not saying that Simmons is more flood this year than he was last year but the the roster is sort of making it look that way your Reddick made things look easier when he just knocked down a three yeah always in south Philly what's not jail Hey guys what's up man so I'm in I'm in total agreement with that I'm in total agreement by here I made a point to John Johnson a couple days ago the all with all the buildup that defeating came with you recognized right well not right away they did star five now but you recognized on the road trip they're they're the same old team they give away operatives action they turn the ball over eight eight play down to their competition so so they they still don then this entire season now is is going to be you're not gonna be able to enjoy a game to game because all you're gonna be doing now is just evaluating are they good enough to get past the second round or he's just the same team we saw last year and the year before that they didn't get better Bentsen invalid get better he got worse indeed is still out of state nothing changes like nothing changed with fifteen a few names changed but overall nothing changed they didn't get better they might have gotten worse I don't think there were sent I don't either markedly worse the gonna win forty five games that if anything Joe you're probably correct that they're the same there do this they're different but the same and this ending is going to be pretty similar I think the consistency will make them win more games this year and the real question is is really what M. B. books like at the end of the year I I'm a little it he did say in training camp and be did say that he wasn't able to do cardio in the AFC off season because of his knee you can rehab for his knee and and they've they've talked a lot about you know him playing in his into shape but I have to say and it's an enormous and be fed so much so that people are like well you never said he does anything wrong you protect them above are like I'm just sort of sick of hearing about working on his fitness space during the season like he is and I had gotten to trouble the other night making fun of Nikolay okay it's being out of shape but like every year we can't just be talking about building on his fitness space and and really the other thing is you can't be playing your yourself to shape it playing yourself into shape in the season and then also taking games off because then when you fall out of shape when you're not playing right and and and that I'm I'm a little nervous about Joe because I've watched him and there's every what like three times a game some of pop and hope you go wow look at that guy there's a lot of times during the game you go man he looks like he's dragging and I I guess I just I've never for next it maybe maybe in the beginning of last season there is an extended period of time maybe a month where you're like wow this guy looks like a killer he looks like a world beater but aside from that there are as many times as I'm looking at a minimum I don't I don't know he's an amazing in a hugely talented player and at his best could be the best player in the NBA but I just don't feel like I see his best as much as I see the best out of guys like Yanis our choir or whatever that's that's my concern with them eight I did this whole like I forget Simmons shooting forget forget shoot him shoot threes or or even the rain stopped and we like to be shot mid range jumpers I don't understand like I actually went in beating all can really realistically is only gonna play maybe sixty games this year between Helen avidly be legitimately hurt and the other games will be load management seven thousand I I don't know what it is but he something happened to him where he got scared to finish at the rim he does it sometimes but he does it way last that he was doing it last year right I don't think you want to join I think it was cool line I think it's I think it's in his head no he doesn't want to be at the free throw line he he I can see through the thing of it is I think we can all live with him not shooting if he would just finish up the ramp he misses the lay out at an alarming rate like he doesn't even really make a layout that reliably if he does may go shop consistently finishes the ram and it was the Phalle him or let him down I could live with him never shooting but he doesn't even make light out in fifty nine it's it's very hard to do we appreciate for them to stay in office unless they're getting free throws or three is not getting either right now eight eight eight seven two nine ninety four ninety four I'm trying to go along for the ride here I'm trying to be possible or the six dark and I will reiterate this they are seven and three like there is a chance they work out their issues and they ready racked up these wins if they were three and seven and not that your season ends is whatever the first ten games but like I don't think there's a path to where they're gonna finish for the six or seven see there's no I don't think that's possible to be in position there's barely even six playoff team right in the east yeah they're going to be in position at the end of the year that if they're playing their best this star the rock complaining about will bury them they will really affect at all no I I don't think I don't think even if they're not the number one seed I don't really see a world in which there are more than three or four games out of it even even if things go go on you know not good not bad just sort of in the middle which is what this is been yeah and then let's say the Celtics or or the raptors wind up winning fifty seven games and I think that's the most either of those teams could win possibly I don't see this team being anything more than fifty winning fifty three games or something I feel like we should expect that this in an NBA were told coming into the year there's no great team there's no there's no that one TV look at say they are the lock for a championship we don't have that team here we we were I had it right right right right you we wish were the exception but we are just the role yeah right which we all acknowledge what we have coming into the year right which means that it may be there seven teams that could win the championship but they all have a fifteen percent chance of winning the championship and the Sixers are just one one of those yes and we're looking at the eighty five and just be at all upset like eighty five percent they don't win yeah yeah yeah I I do you think they're a significant step behind two or three other teams let's talk to Tony in Glenside was it there and what the problem is what's up Tony store all god tell me what's on your mind tonight my problem there's about twelve right here it's platform do you two we we heard its preference issue I did just muscle you on this we have a team we we got Mike Tyson okay we got Mike Tyson and we were like we should hurry limit everybody we don't what do you like we we we got a bright man what we play like golf all big dollars yeah we put not a big thing with everybody everyone is so small what what does stand out at the free throw line he died guards John the bull stuff nobody knows how to shoot we like we like we are Golden State is that a player like the old you short distance being we found your website at the two points at the June quarter and when you call the three point line we still pounding you can point to Warner and next thing you know we see but they have to shoot turn I hear yeah and I understand the sentiment sometimes but in a league where everyone is shooting threes if they're disputing twos they're gonna lose that the the math doesn't work in their favor yeah not sure because we defensively defensively we locked and guarded three point line we're all going we're twenty landing you want to guard it from the tool even the shot they hit still count for another point like even if they only shoot thirty percent if they always stop a lot of them they have to shoot but I I get a Tony and I I like the idea of that Bassil sometimes but they need to shoot they need to I yeah thank you Sir what thirty shot we take the one we know you know how many how many what what's a good number three for the Sixers they're never going to win a championship shooting eighteen threes they're just not is it because it's a there's too many Tony I I I I understand the desire to to turn back the.

And then, you know, before it was passed to right after talking about having to go do a special training and all this stuff. And I'm thanking com. Stupid. Today thing we are here that they hadn't had training to catch people on marijuana driving long before we ever tried to get legal and lady piston drivers census band on. Well, did anybody do a study before? I mean Hank. Right. People weren't driving around smoking and stuff before the law was passed the change in the law. Make it any different. Well, the thing is Bob. Yeah, the, the really the only way the police can tell if you indeed are smoking marijuana is if they smell it on you the rest of the time the rest of the time all they can pop you for is impeded driving, because they're not going to be able to tell if you are on an opioid, or if you're on a if you're on a, you know, a tranquilizer or something like that, if they pull you over for reckless driving. Now here's my thing, I've noticed since legalisation, a lot more people just drive in slow, and I say to myself up if I if I pass them up, I don't see a phone in their hand because they're texting and driving that got to be stoned. No. It's like yeah. Well, it just makes it sound like we got drastic changes since it was passed. But, you know it was being done before. It was passed. Yeah, it was it was just the legal. Yes. Increase it or anything else, you still had people either doing well and it's still illegal to drive under that influence. It's just harder. Bob for them to catch you doing it because it's not like you can breathe into a Breathalyzer. Yup. You're drunk, you can't do that with marijuana. They make it sound like. More people are getting smart board or whatever. Now because the law was passed when I said they were doing long before we ever tried to get the low pass. So it ain't past his just because it got past. Yeah. And I'm gonna have to look at the statistics. They were quoting Bob, I haven't looked at those and, and AAA usually, they're pretty refutable the triple A comparing impeding driving arrests from say two years ago today or five years ago today. I, I don't know. Yes. What I'm saying because, you know, they were doing that kind of study before it got passed. So what he had compared with. Yeah. Yeah. So appreciate it. Okay. Major automakers post higher May sales
"We're waiting to hear today. If Renault of France wants to start merger negotiations with Fiat Chrysler, also some of the big automakers reported higher sales in may compared to a year earlier which surprised some forecasters given the slow start to the year. Well, let's put you back on hold phone. We'll get right back to them marks. With is. Mark your WIP. Hey, good morning guys. I'm just really thankful. You're playing some old replays from I'm listening to this. And it's taken me back to being a little kid in my baseball uniform with my dad watching on TV, and it's just a great time of year, man. That's what it's about. There's no doubt. That's what it's about man. Yeah. I was born in the fifties. So I'm thinking back, you know, I used to come back, and and my dad my older brothers, and I would sit on the back porch with this little black and white TV in the sixties watching, you know, Robin Roberts, and Johnny Carson, and you're playing some of these replays on the radio, and I'm getting goosebumps. I'm driving to work. I'll man can't wait this good. Just take me back. My dad, you know, he's probably looking down, and you know, just smile and and and whatnot. But no matter what was going on how stressful work was you know, he would just run their little seven ounce pony sodas at the top. Little seventy. I remember beers. Well, I guess I remember Tony sodas also. Yeah. We didn't have a ton of money. But we look forward to those games, you know, on the back porch. And you know, just sitting there yelling at the TV neighbors. Probably thought we were nuts, but, you know, great year, Iran, and here's the thing. Mark the excitement is going to be real again. You know, I mean, I I don't know if they'll make it for sure this year or not I think they will. But this thing is going to get. I mean, this is going to get cranked up. And what and Marsha to call? What we've been hoping for really for a couple of years, John which did not exist last year, which was real genuine crowds at the ballpark. That's gonna like tomorrow. I mean, the thing about it this way for anybody. Who is let's say eleven years old that has gone a Phillies games last seven or eight years. But did you know doesn't remember when they were two or three in the Phillies are in the playoffs. You know in two thousand eleven two thousand and ten if there's an eleven year old Tamar than that apparent keeps them out of school to take down the ballpark. That child is going to experience. Some are something assistant Bank park that he or she has never experienced as a Phillies fan just just hasn't happened. I mean, flat out sell out with just tremendous energy in the crowd. And it's it's back, man. In a great way. I Joel Mayfair's telling us he's concerned. Joe what are you concerned about? I'm going to give you guys an over under as as the Stephen Mike show on this show is give you over under number of thirty you taking over or under of I'll give you the question after it. Good mood. I'm going to go over. Okay. The main the number of games the Phillies bullpen ball tired because the starting rotation. Joe? That's what I'm worried about improve the starting rotation where it's going to kill the bullpen like there last year, and the and the either the summer, and that's what concerns me, you know, you got a bunch of guys who can go five and a third innings at eighty five pitches and you're using your bullpen. Well, we know that we had that issue with Vince Velazquez. Yeah, sure, we know that. Improved. We know that Nick Pavetti was the talk of spring training because of his improvement and what I saw from Jake Arrieta yesterday. Was sick. It was sorcery the movement that he was getting on his pitches. I mean if that's any indication moving forward. Listen, I too was very concerned. You know, why aren't we going out and getting Dallas kaikal? And I said, you know, well, I guess we just gotta have faith that McClintock knows what he's doing. He's done pretty well this off season so far, but I still questioned it and then after seeing area yesterday it brought to my mind that this. This question was last year for air Yeta the outlier or is that what area has become and I tend to believe seeing that performance yesterday that when he arrived as late as he did last year it set him back for the season because this guy who depends so heavily on his leg. Strength his conditioning. His his his lower body, and he was just sort of playing catch up from the start of the season. He never became the Jake Arrieta. That was the Cy Young Jake Arrieta. Right. I feel like we're going to get a closer approximation or that Cy Young Jake Arrieta this time around because he's been able to ply his trade at the normal level that he's accustomed to preparation-wise this season. I hope you're right. Mazing don't care in Twitter and check out the there are snippets. There are some pitches that were so crazy looking people had to put them up on Twitter, and these are other pitchers saying like how in the world is he doing this twenty swings and misses which is legit. Believable. Let's talk to Larry who's with us. I hope so Larry you're on I pay. John John how you guys doing today super Larry? I listen to you every day. I love your show. I haven't called into sports talk since I spoke to Howard during the nineteen ninety three World Series. How? Infrequent caller, but I'm a daily listen. That's cool. Thank you for calling. I I think about baseball. The first thing that always comes to my mind is my dad been gone for a long time. I was born in the fifty two, but. We we didn't get along very, well, and many things probably the only thing we ever agreed about was sports and primarily baseball and went to many many games with him. When I was a kid. He always called a shy party refused. The call eighty Yup. What I what I always had to do was get there for batting practice. I love watching batting practice. And I love watching the outfielders show at their arms before the game. Throwing you know back and forth. You know rate lasers. And I I got my one and only ball on a cookie wrong Haas batting practice home run into the bleachers. But that's what that's what thinking about baseball. Always brings back to me. I'm really up for this year. Been a bit of a dry spell and. Pitching staff is is a big concern. I'm I'm I'm real optimistic stuff. Larry. Yeah. The pitching staff is clearly the the question Mark and Larry thanks for the call. It is there's no doubt. And it was my I mean, I'm I'm railing against it. When we're down there in spring training. And and we were just flat out asking McClintock widens, you bring someone else in he's very confident with this group the stories that we heard about potato where almost borderline legendary like, I would say encouraging people encouraging people asking where the heck did this guy come from people from other teams enquiring about this guy never seen anything like it. That's what we're being told. When we're down there. How about this though Sports Illustrated twenty nineteen fantasy baseball bold predictions. Now, this is just you know in article, whatever. But one of their predictions is that Nick pa- Vada. Strikes out two hundred batters this season. Now that doesn't just come out of nowhere. I think it's very doable. I think it is eighty eight last year one hundred sixty four innings he had exactly he and he completed six innings in just eleven of thirty two starts. There's good reason. They're saying there's good reason to bet on enough growth in this his age twenty six season that you know, who's third full year in the league to get him to one hundred ninety innings this season if he gets to one hundred ninety innings he's for sure. Strikeouts. And just the improvement that we've seen is cause for a lot of positivity. And it's something that I was completely clueless to until we went down to clear why. So I'm in one of those benevolent moods that I get in sometimes, and I am going to give you a bet that I would encourage people to make I'm going to give it to your right now. And it's Nick Pavetti related. I saw recently the over under and we'll do more of these over runners. I'm sure tomorrow in the lead up opening day over honors for some of the players home runs and wins and runs and is and all that good stuff. Batting average the overall under for Nick pa- Vada wins this year and take the over. I am too. And I'm telling you, this is a money maker when I'm about to tell you. I'm serious is a moneymaker stake in my my reputation on it. Eight and a half. For Nick vet. I saw that's a really low. I mean, it would be low if he was average with an average offense. Maybe he's average. He's probably going to be above average. He's got an exceptional offense. It's a it's a mistake. Whoever made it whoever set that line made a mistake. They didn't put the research in you know, last year he had a twenty over twenty seven percent strikeout rate that was thirteenth best in the majors. That's better than Aaron Nola. So this year like we were just saying he will be improved. We've seen him improve. If he continues at that clip. The guy's going to be a machine eight eight eight seven to nine ninety four ninety four speaking equips, you heard his place. Some of those audio clips from years gone by and Phillies baseball and just the celebration of fills baseball being back. Let's talk to David shall font. What's going? Dave. Gentlemen. Let's play ball. Yes. Sir. It's a great time of the year. I have a couple of the nineteen eighty story. I have a a home opener story. Go for got. Lanta land on us. Home opener, my friend, and I went down to the vet. Didn't have tickets. One friend guy a ticket asking Jodi Mack who was doing the show across the street at the spectrum. Yup. Couldn't get me tickets. So I said. Hey, buddy. Just meet me up at the Willie Stargell someone. How are you getting in? I said climbing the fence. Yeah. There was a way I didn't know until the very end. I heard people talk about it. There was a way to scale that. I mean a couple of spots at the vet. You could just you could kind of walk right up the wall. Walk around the wall. But then there was like a little concrete a section that stuck out about a foot and went up about two feet again to hang on. Yup. Hanging out about thirty feet over the concrete, and then you had to grab onto the railing. But made it, obviously. And yeah, I'm glad you did great one and nineteen eighty I was fortunate enough to go to ten years old and fortunate to go to game one of the championship series against the Astros game one against the royals and saw Bob walks. Yeah. Game that day. Yep. Yeah. Almost homerun from Greg Luzinski. I was out in left field bleachers. So it was really exciting, especially, you know, ten years old. His father. And I went to about twenty games that year. That's tremendous. Well, you're at the perfect age. Dave appreciate the phone. Call me, you just at the perfect age at that point. You know, speaking of the ballpark's for years and again the members. So I always heard that people could sneak into the vet. I never knew how to do it. But someone show me the last year. I don't even. I mean, I didn't do it. But someone show there was a a spot. And I assume there's multiple spots. Because I I think it was like a similar kind of thing around the ballpark where you could James. Did you ever see it where you could kinda same like you? I was a little young when when it was happening. I heard about it after and all. I don't know how to say you kinda like. You could kinda like push yourself up off the this front things. Then kind of like with your left arm kind of pull yourself over. It was weird. You can sneak right into the ballpark. And of course, you could do that for eagles games.
