"Kyle brandish pitched into the 7th inning, allowing one run on four hits while striking out 5 to earn a second win as the Orioles beat the angels three to one. Radishes lone mistake was a solo Homer to Mike Trout in the fourth inning. It's a really good team, really good lineup. I think our game plan we executed that today. Got a fastball out to where he could get extended on it. But yeah, really good lineup. Austin Hayes homered for the Orioles, Cedric Mullins and Ryan mountcastle each drove in runs. Tim Mahoney Describes His Journey to Biblical Archeology

"I'm talking to Tim Mahoney who is behind the films called patterns of evidence, the new one. It's going to be in theaters may 15th and 17th only. Fathom event is patterns of evidence journey to Mount Sinai part two, okay, so I just have to ask because I'm sure you told me this in the past, but for my audience's sake, how did you get involved in biblical archeology and in these kinds of things? Because I have become more and more and more fascinated with this stuff. What was your journey to Mahoney? Well, I think that if you wonder about your past and you wonder about how we got somewhere, when I was in high school, my family actually broke up when I was 11 years old. And it was a tragic kind of a breakup. We actually had to go in hiding Eric from my father because he was, he wasn't well. And he and an 11th grade was the first time I started to get back an interested in school. And it was when I was reading a history book. And I started to read ahead. And it was like that scene from when John Candy when they're like, I'm sure that scene when Steve Martin and John Candy in a movie where they're like in bed. And they're all of a sudden they wake up and they start talking about baseball or whatever. And I was like, thinking to myself, what in the world am I doing reading ahead in this book? I do not, I'm not supposed to be a good student. I don't like this, but I found history was fascinating because I was learning a story. It was a Civil War. And I was going deeper and deeper into it. I couldn't believe what had happened. I finally became aware that something happened earlier in time. And I think that this history, when you ever have a chance to look and you go, well, how did this happen? Where did this happen? And in my own life, I thought I was just going to go on adventure, but once you go into a place like Egypt and you see the pyramids and you see archeology and you realize that there was nations here before, there were armies here before, there were pharaohs and you look at the tombs and you look at go to the British Museum and you see what was created. Human hair from 3000 years ago, we wove together. I saw this wig that was both African and like a Norwegian hair that was woven together. I go, who was this person? Who are these people that all this happened? And you just realized that there's something more. And I think that that interest of knowing what the past was about, what drew me in, and so when I went to Egypt, the first time in 2002, I was absolutely astounded by the precision of things that were created. And how in the world did that happen? And then as you bring your faith into it, you realize that God is the creator of everything

Census Bureau rejects many big-city challenges that claimed the 2020 headcount missed their people

"Some of America's largest cities that challenge their 2020 census numbers are disappointed with the response from the U.S. Census Bureau. Memphis appealed, saying its population was undercounted, but the Census Bureau wound up subtracting three people. Austin, Texas, America's 11th most populated, and a democratic stronghold in a very red state, says 7300 housing units were missed, but the Census Bureau only added one. The census figures are important for getting a slice of $1.5 trillion in federal government spending, for transportation, health, and other services. The biggest winner so far is Boston. The bureau conceded thousands of college students were not counted because of COVID displacements, which also affected colleges, nursing homes, and prisons in other cities. I'm Jackie Quinn.

People know you if they've listened to the show for a long time, but let's establish a credibility. They were going to talk about what we should do. Well, establishing my credibility is still something I'm working on doing with my own wife and children, but at least for listeners, I'll say I manage close to four and a half $1 billion, run a private wealth firm called the bonson group, 6 offices around the country. I was managing director at Morgan Stanley for ten years. And I write about economics and finance at national review and other places and I just sort of wake up and do this all day every day. And so you've been following money. For as long as I've known my goodness, I've probably known you for a quarter century. I don't know when I first came and did a David bonson group event. You would have someone come in and talk politics to your investors. I'm not going to come talk investments for investors because I don't know that world. But that was kind of fun. Why I know why you are a Newport Beach because that's where you were. But why open 5 other offices? We just ended up with a client base in a certain area that warranted having an office locally. We are real work from office people. We work through most of COVID as well. All 56 of our employees are required to actually go to work 5 days a week, so we're really unique that way. But we think our clients like being in physical presence with their adviser and so we prefer to have offices where a lot of clients are and the kind of ongoing new business that we do benefits from having offices and we can put analysts and planners and research people on the ground. We can hire from all over the country instead of just in California and New York where we've been for a long time.

Unprecedented Bank Failures Shocks America

"David just go to 30,000 feet, are you confident of stability, the American banking system? Well, the answer is yes, but we have to sort of take a step back to look at what is happening because it's actually unprecedented. And I don't think we're capturing the historical moment of banks failing with no credit impairment. You've had tons of financial panics, financial issues over the years. We all know the 2008 one. But at every moment, the savings and loan crisis in the late 80s, early 90s, there were people not paying money back that caused banks to have problems. And then you add the leverage and all the other things. It spirals and it can happen in a levered financial system. That's what a financial panic is.

"Dermot Shea was talking yesterday You had a well an Asian woman. She was punched in the head knocked onto the subway tracks. By a guy who four days later did the same thing to another old lady. It was white supremacist, right? Yeah, exactly. Uh, well, actually, when you look at them, you start to think. Well, maybe he wasn't a white supremacist doesn't something from calling a Larry elder or white supremacist. But either way four days earlier, he got a desk appearance ticket and then death guy was hit in the head with a hammer on the subway. And he was also released, Uh weeks earlier on another violent charge. Dermot Shea has had it up to here, he says the NYPD police commissioner, listen to him. I mean, that was a hard trick attack and what I fear here is we can't fall into a placement like this is normalized where that's accepted behavior. Anytime it happens. It's terrible, particularly to an innocent woman. That's just going to work or going to church. In this case, I think it was when you hear that it happened four days before. That's when my blood gets to boil. Now and and you know, when you look at like the laws that make us released individuals before they even go to a judge, you just shake your head, you know, But here's what I want to hear from Germany. I want him name names. I want to hear him talk that Governor Cuomo did it that it's the state Legislature that it was Todd Kaminsky, the state center that wrote It was running for D A an Astro counting his hand. Donley. We've got to elect and Donnelly you got you Can't you got to hold these people accountable? I mean, that's why this poor lady was smashed in the head and knocked onto the subway tracks was because of Todd Kaminsky. Let's call him out by name, Dermot Shea because they if we re elect people like that, we're doomed. We're just with suckers were idiot We deserve. What we get is essentially what I'm saying. Here is we deserve it. Uh, listen, Speaking of getting his just desserts, I'm gonna get to Dr Fauci in a second front page in the New York Post. This guy is stone cold busted. They found they found out a bunch A bunch of NIH National Institute of Health. The documents will release he runs that and it turns out that yes, the United States taxpayer did fun. This gain of function research out in the Wuhan lab behind the backs of his superiors. Did Fauci do this, which led to the pandemic and all the death and destruction that ensued? Dr. Fauci here he is, in May of 2020, A, citing Dr Fauci, citing some letter. That says no, No, no. A bunch of doctors even signed a letter and said that it came from an animal. Listen to this. If you look at the evolution of the virus in bats, and what's out there now is very, very strongly leaning towards this could not have been artificially or deliberately manipulated the way the mutations and naturally evolved a number of very qualified. Evolutionary biologists have said that everything about the stepwise evolution over time strong Only indicates that evolved in nature and then jumped species. So now listen, the the whole deal. Liar the whole deal with Dr Fauci and, uh And again. The people like him is that he was a foil to President Trump. And that's why these doctors signed this letter. In my opinion, you know he was the guy. He was the champion for the fake news. He was Cuomo's, You know, but buddy, or whatever you call them. Was Dr Fauci. And so you had these a bunch of virologists signed a letter that reminds me of Joe Biden, citing a letter at a debate with President Trump, citing a letter from like 50, Intel professionals, saying that the Hunter Biden laptop was Russian disinformation. There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what this he's accusing me of is a Russian plant. They have said that this is has all the car 45 former heads of the CIA. Both parties say what he's saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes that except them his and his good friend Rudy Jolly, you mean the laptop is now another. Russia. Russia. Russia hoax? That's exactly what this way exactly what this is where he's going. The laptop is Russia. Gentlemen, I want to stay on the issue of race. You have to be kidding. Here we go again with Russia. So there you have the moderator running interference for Biden. I want to stay on the issue of race. And, of course, the news media ran with it. And they cited this letter from 50. Intel, former Intel Heads or whatever the hell it was five of them and plus others. So that's the M O site. A letter from what those people were banned from Facebook and Twitter. And they write for Russian disinformation and also the media that, uh, Promoted that light. Exactly Right. Exactly. Yeah, ran interference. And by the way, Big Tech, which band people who cited facts to the contrary, they're full of crap. They certainly are. But so doctor found the papers came out yesterday. They were published by a publication called The Intercept. Uh, Fauci definitely funded this a gain of function research. Which led to the pandemic, and Rand Paul was out to really, really early. Remember that ugly exchange where you had culminated this particular clip with Dr Fauci nervously shaking his finger pointing at the rand. Paul, listen to this million that is a crime to lie to Congress. Do you wish to retract your statement of May 11th where you claim that the NIH never funded gain of function research in Wuhan. Senator Paul I have never lied before the Congress and I do not retract. That statement. And if anybody is lying here, Senator it is you and he was like his head was shaking. It was so funny. So anyway, obviously he's his stone cold busted. I'm going to get your thoughts on the other side of Senator Tom Cotton Congressman Peter King, Senator Tom Cotton, I thought encapsulated what should happen. What has happened in the past and what should happen. Going forward? Listen to him. It funded a laboratory that, in all likelihood, is the source of this Once in a century pandemic that has upended so many of our lives, hundreds of 1000 people dead, many more have been seriously ill. "Through the middle of windsor and we just felt like it. Was this resource that we weren't really taking full advantage of and so A couple of years ago the council decided that we would use some of our parks and rec fund money to create this River walk experience which is Similar in in nature to What what fort collins has on the north side of The downtown where you know. It goes along the buddha river up there. It's got rocks. It's got seating area. Got walking trails extra parking etc but it sits right at the corner of this Part of the buddha river where the view is amazing. You can see people that might be tubing down the river or canoeing etc so We're really excited about it and that We're we're cutting the ribbon on friday. Well that's yeah and it seems like the public has been as backed this a lot. They've been pretty excited about this. They have they have This is I got no push back in windsor because A lot of people windsor realizes. This is A long thing. Overdue and Actually it's just the first phase of a bunch of stuff that we're gonna. We have planned as far as a a total master plan for that that area of the river. And we're really looking forward to it You know one of the things that will be able to do Starting this summer is we're going to have an area a little bit up the river. Actually a part of the same park believe it or not where people can put in a tube and get out right where this river walk experiences. So it's It's really exciting and We're really looking forward to it. Being open finally paul i. i don't. I don't know much about politics but i know that whenever you don't get any pushback That's pretty rare. You got to celebrate something like that. I'm i'm very fortunate In windsor the people of windsor very gracious To me and have been for quite some time as i've been on the council now for about five years but You know the public speaks out when they're when they're not happy about something or someplace that you've got the certainly make their voices known But this is definitely a project. We have the funds Sitting in a fun. Like i said where the money had to be spent on parks and so basically we Just decided this was a a really good use of those those monies and so we're We're really excited to get it open and let the public able to take advantage of it. Yeah and it's just in time. Well just in time is this. Weather's supposed to start warming up and things like that As you cut that ribbon. Again on friday But this is like you mentioned it as well. This is just one part a lot of things that you you guys have going. On in windsor legend sports complex that is well underway in its building process and There's a lot. There's a lot going on in windsor right now. we do. We have a lot of a lot of fantastic projects. Were really excited about the future. Legends project they I just had a meeting with all of their Their top brass last week and they have a full hundred percent. You know Slate of activities All their field all of their Amenities and facilities. That are booked for next May they starting next may forward so Out about seven years so future. Legends is coming on. They're going to have. I believe it's three hotels When it's all said and done a huge record setting size of a multipurpose indoor facility as well as a Outdoor stadium which would be similar to what you'd have if you went down to see the rockies down at spring training so it it it's really awesome. What they're going to be doing out there. Yeah it is. It's incredible been able to go on a little bit of a tour there and and everything that's going to bring in to it So so paul. Obviously the pandemic was not easy on on any businesses. How did you guys navigate that. And where do you guys sit now. Is things start to open back up. Well we've been very fortunate as a community. I were not exactly sure what exactly the reason is. But our sales tax numbers of actually barely dipped in the last year. Our total sales tax revenue that the town brought in Which is obviously very important. Any community was actually up year over year over twenty nineteen And actually our our director finance actually was just telling us that our council meeting last night that We're actually a up fourteen percent or where where we were january february march a year ago and that was before the pandemic it. So we're We're very fortunate a lot of that of course attributable to our growth lot of new communities in neighborhoods. Here in in windsor. And we're very fortunate that the people windsor like to Spend their money in windsor. You know with all of our big brothers and sisters around us. Being loved fort collins and greeley. We're just fortunate that they choose to Continue to invest in their local community. Power in a meyer mayor. Rent meyer out of windsor mayor. One of the questions. That that i've always wondered how. How difficult is it. Having your city said part of it in larmer county and part of it in weld county when larimer and weld of ed so many different Takes on so many different things you know. It is a It can be a challenge at times. you know we. We are two thirds. I mean it's amazing. How it really fits like this. But we're basically two thirds and weld in one third and larimer and You know are you know it. It's i think really what it comes down to tanner's that we we have a lot of community events in windsor that pole from both both counties. You know where people that just attribute themselves to being in. Windsor doesn't really matter which which county that they live in. You know these community activities bring everybody together. Make everybody feel like we're one big community and One big family and That's why you know windsor through the pandemic through you know even the tornado. You know Twelve years ago. Now the I actually almost thirteen years ago. that You know windsor is is very strong and we have a very tight knit community and and the people that moved a windsor. Want to to. The whole reason that they moved to windsor was because parks in rec. Our rec centers are parks are trails. This is where they wanted to raise their family. This may not be where they work. But this is where they recreate and where they wanna live and they like the community that they're in so we're very fortunate in that respect. There's no doubt about it and the more advanced the more attractions being added to windsor the more. You're going to see that so let me ask you this mayor You know obviously they again going back to learn welded onto things. What who did you tend to side with e. Because yeah i know it's tough differentiations for different Business owners in your city. But who who did you tend to side with and agree with when it came to the different county measures You know we yearn proportionately amazingly enough we've got to councilman that are on the lamoure county side for that are on the Weld side so we feel like it is proportionate to the two thirds one third and you know we take all of the issues that happen. You know that that need to be voted on that are that are coming up in the you know elections And we take all the heart the the council decides on you know which would be beneficial to our community as a whole and that's that's the way we we tend to to refer it to the the citizens on how they should vote but you know ultimately like i said it it. We don't really look at it as being split community. We do everything within our ability to really try to bring the whole community together. Irregardless of the fact of you know one st defines which county that you live in etc And.

Let's jump right in here Downtown greeley could be getting grocery store. Yeah that's right you know Downtown has lacked a grocery store. Since the i believe it was twenty fourteen closure of Safeway on eleventh avenue and now a proposal is Before city or a small grocery store at thirteen twenty. Eight th avenue. That's the former if you think back. A few years after the former downtown deals on wheels building Which rich mark purchased back in twenty fifteen rich. Mark course has done a major developments in downtown greeley at the mattie the three building mattie apartment complex as an example they purchased that building in twenty fifteen and they've already done quite a bit of work on it With facade work interior work and now they have proposed to transform that building into a small grocery store and they are. It's about thirteen thousand square feet. So they This'll be much smaller than a typical. You know safeway or king supers which can go from forty six thousand square feet all we have to more than one hundred thousand smaller than that They are not revealing who this is yet except to say that it's a publicly traded company I can't say that the that that thirteen thousand square feet is in the size range for something like a natural grocers by vitamin colleague cottage. I'm not saying it's them but that type of Side that That would that would fill the space and they would. Have you know small parking on the north and the east side of that building And right now. This is in Before the city for design review They are saying that they would like it to open by october or by year. End at the latest. But this would. This would help to fill some of the niche before that grocery desert in downtown where Residents have to travel a long distance For any sort of grocery and this was a real really start to help fill..

Chris forty six thousand square feet thirteen thousand square feet october about thirteen thousand square more than one hundred thousand Four Safeway twenty fifteen this morning Mark course eleventh avenue twenty fourteen . West Downtown greeley th avenue greeley three years vitamin

"Three zero one Okay let's see here We've got paulina. Meyer coming up In in about ten minutes or so. We'll be joined by the windsor mayor. that We'll be talking about some of the new things windsor has going on. Then chris would. Editor publisher biz west magazine. We'll be joining us as well So really looking forward to the interviews The beginning to hey quick programming reminder tomorrow brady whole of the whole show is going to jump up. We got a schedule is going crazy. I mentioned we'll have mornings scale from six. Am to eight am tomorrow at eight am sharp. I'm going to be doing some broadcasting for all you people out there The eaten red going to be taking on resurrection christian cougars in the quarterfinal matchup of the state volleyball So eight am sharp will be gone. Should rapper wrap up around ten. Am at that point. brady hold jumps in. He'll on our Then we'll get back into some regular programming for you tomorrow with the rockies doubleheader a whole bunch of things thursday same situation have an eight. Am broadcast as well So we'll see where that lines up everything along those lines as well but If you're tune in tomorrow or thursday and wondering what is going on. That's kind of the setup of it but we will be back and on normal schedule on friday for noko now so that is coming up all right. Let's get into the sports world shall we Starting i last night the It was it was a it was the kid. I say a must win game. It was a huge game last night between the colorado avalanche and the vegas golden knights. I will tell you what it lived. Up to the hype. The avs go down early in this one. One two zero in the first period which this team look i. I know it's a. It's easy to say but this team is one that doesn't score very often in the first period but are so fast they're gonna wear you down. They are going to wear you down. And that's what they did with the vegas golden knights last night They go down one zero in the first period the tied up in the second period with about About so nine minutes left in the third period. Jt conver- puts one home in the avs. Take the win to two one. So what i've been told. Is that the avs to win. The presidents cup to beat the vegas golden knights in regulation had to beat the vegas golden knights in regulation. They did that. It didn't look like it was going to happen but they did that. Last night. fill grew our incredible by the way. So now what do they have to do because early two points back. Well all they have to do is be the la kings twice. They play wednesday at seven pm and they play thursday at seven pm and ball arena. So that's the as have. They've got that in front of them. Can they go win. Two games win the presidents cup and get that number one seed heading into the playoffs. I love the avs life where they're headed. I think they can do. They have now won. I must see here six out of their last seven games. They are picking it up. They're getting helping hitting their stride. This looks like it could be just as spectacular. Finish to season four four the colorado avalanche. Take a look at the denver. Nuggets shall we there in action tonight. excuse me this afternoon five. Pm tipoff against the charlotte hornets deliver. comes one forty four and twenty four. They're five and a half point favorites in charlotte. so now what we're seeing is The the nuggets maybe starting to get a little healthier saw the report From katie windy of altitude. Tv's the monte. Morris is now listed as questionable for the game against that that would be huge to get them back to. The nuggets are sitting in fourth place right now in the western conference the charlotte hornets in eight in the eastern conference. This i think this game could maybe surprised that people. I think it's colder than what that five and a half is but the nuggets have come off losses to two very talented teams in the utah jazz and the brooklyn nets. So where do they go. Okay the nuggets forty four and twenty four. They are one game back of the clippers. Dallas is starting to pull ahead. Dallas is two games ahead of the mavs. Honestly you're starting to say almost rather just stay in that number four spot take on dallas you know l. a. keeps falling back there a game and a half out of Six plays who is portland. So it's shaken up shaken up and it's looking like it could benefit the denver nuggets. Let's get to the colorado rockies. They were scheduled to go last night. Obviously mother nature had had some different plans and they're also slated to go. Today i would have a feeling that mother nature would have some different plans as it sits right now the rockies slated to have two seven inning games tomorrow against the padres. I don't know going to happen to the game today. It's supposed to go at six forty with a six ten pre-game show here on kfi k. But we'll see i. There's no way they play that game. It's snowing it's still raining there. There's no way that they get that game in So we'll we'll see what the schedule ends up being. As well as i mentioned tomorrow state volleyball the eaten. Reds gwen forrester and company taking on resurrection christian at eighty am in the quarterfinals university. The university bulldogs and lamar savages. Were slated to go at two pm. But lamar had a positive cova test. They have been disqualified out of the state tournament. And it means that the university bulldogs will now move forward into the semi-finals. They get automatic fi. They play eight. Am on thursday which should be matchup. The reds take care of business like they. They have been. That should be matchup between the reds and university bulldogs on thursday morning. Which is where. We're we're ready to go and that that's what we're looking for winter. That will play. I take title at eight pm on thursday a lot of high school. Actually coming your way as well. Our high school baseball game has been postponed as well. So no no gain today. Anything like that. we will We'll await To see where we go that look for the sports world.

Today two pm friday thursday Dallas paulina Two games thursday morning two games second period chris tomorrow two points lamar eighty am today third period Last night tonight charlotte

"They've gone from last year. We kept talking about how they're really young squad who is succeeding. Well the the narratives gonna flip next year and Because all these guys played some games last year and the last two years early. It's okay it's kind of a veteran squad is played a lot together. So what can they do. Yeah after getting a ton of experience. Right and i think that the pressure is going to be on to take that next step kevin. Let's let's talk about football. I know it sounds crazy. It doesn't feel like we should be getting that close to football season when you still have look. You've got high school volleyball still going on. You got a high school baseball just starting. It feels weird that we would even talk about anything. Football related no matter the level. But we're not that far away from this summer getting underway and and the football team starting to pick things up. what is the current state of the rams. Football team is about to kick up and and most importantly is you know the. Ncaa has now opened up recruiting. So basically you can host be on campus. The can do visits come back. We're back on the normal calendar starting in june. And that's really big. You know steve adagio and his staff you know when they got hired in late twenty nineteen they were able to roughly a month or so of in person recruiting and then they win the spring ball and then that got shut down kovin since then. They've that they haven't been able to go recruit impersonal. Their commits have been the know based on virtual recruiting And as we all know yeah you can make it work but it's a lot harder especially when you're talking to recruiting to build relationships and things like that Without meeting anyone in person so the fact that issues going to be able to do that is certainly their coaches. I know they're eager to get back out and do that. And it's gonna be really important. Obviously that is the lifeblood of lifeline of a program is is how you recruit and and so it's a pivotal time. Obviously every other school is looking at as a great opportunity for themselves as well. But but for see if you another chance to or really a first chance i long time to get perspectives students. How to campus. And and in front of coaches tiger with kevin lion the fort collins colorado and and kevin last year when he comes in. We saw this thing Box them in right. I mean he's talking about recruiting recruiting colorado. Hard is going to be another. I mean is that going to be another thing that they're going to do again this year. Have you had. He started to see any of those often cliche but still sometimes effective recruiting techniques. Yeah i don't know if they're going to bring back. The box of men has set by. The general idea is still to be used them. Even this last recruiting class of the number in front of me but they find a number of colorado kids even though like i say they had to do it. All virtually and i think staff definitely plans to do that. And and recruit the state. They've you know they've signed two classes and in both of them have capri no good number of colorado kids. I think that's definitely a thing. This staff is going to be doing and and again. That's a a big part of being able to get back out is meet all these coaches around colorado and as we know and high school sports there been number coaching changes since since the coaches could go back on the road so they have a lot of new people to me as well Yeah i think that's gonna be huge bit of when they are back on the road know kind of reconnecting in colorado you face to face. It's an interesting thing i mean..

"Fact that may is help month joined this morning by michaela sanchez marketing and public relations director. North range behavioral health. Hey michaela del how are you. I'm doing well and you learn well. Yeah morning little drizzly. Little rainy little grey. But that's okay. Yep it still is pretty. We're colorado girl so we can. We can handle it. That's right because we've learned a long time ago. If you don't like the weather just wait five minutes. It'll change you know it's interesting because you and i were corresponding via email and you. You said something. I want to talk about All of the great events and activities that north range behavioral health has planned to observe mental health month in may. But i love how you phrased this about thinking of taking care of our mental health. Well think of it as mental fitness essentially a flipping the script and getting away from the stigma. I mean we take care of our physical bodies. Shouldn't we take care of our minds. Exactly you know. And i think a lot of times. The way that we received the world is influenced by the stories. Were writing about it right. And so when you're talking about flipping the script that's exactly it. We have the power to flip the script in any situation and figure out how to see things differently and one of those things can be looking at our mental health through the lens of looking at as mental fitness You know we talk about our. We know that strong mental fitness kinda helps us realize our potential. It helps us cope with stress. It helps us work productively It helps us enjoy strong relationships and in that we then contribute positively to our communities and so that strong mental fitness is something that we all know is helpful for us. Just like our physical fitness right so not all of us may go to the gym or practice physical activity as often as we know that we should but we do know that if we did that it would impact our lives in a good way across the board. Treadmill is a clothes hanger place to put exactly you know what the thing is. Is that if you talk about your treadmill. You talked about the tools that you use for mental fitness or for physical fitness. Talk about going to the gym. Going for a walk. We do that very openly. Talk about how. Our hamstrings are really tight. We talk about. How back is hurting us. Like a badge of honor exactly exactly and so what we need to do is framed that mental health component of our life into mental fitness. And understand that those pieces. It's not a a negative reflection of ourselves. It's the situation at the moment. Right if my hamstrings tight. I need to figure out how to either deal with it or help to stretch them out. And i may talk to somebody about that in an open way without shame. Right yeah in a weird sort of way perhaps. Celebrate the fact that you're hamstrings are tight because they're tight for a reason because you did something good for yourself absolutely absolutely and so the discomfort that we can sometimes feel i love. There is a a woman. Her name is susan davis. She's an author and a therapist and she has some amazing books talking about emotional agility and one of the things that she talks about with our emotions she said emotions are not good and they are not bad. They are data. It's influencing. that's absolutely brilliant. Because you have to remember you know no matter where you are on that You know emotional scale particularly if you're teetering toward the negative side of the scale. Instead of perceiving it negatively no two things. It's just the data point as soon days. Points out and thank you for bringing that to our attention but you also need to remember this too shall pass Right and that's that's when we can remove ourselves kind of distance ourselves from being emotion and observing the emotion instead right. We talk about that. You'll hear our clinicians and our therapists talk about that. A lot our emotions you know. Imagine it as a way. It's coming and it's going just as it came it will pass And it is not who you are. It's just something that you are experiencing at that time so you know whatever we need to do to frame it in a way where it may be. It's data. maybe it's a wave. Maybe it's my mental fitness Just our job is to try to figure out a way that we can Process that information and communicating with people in a way that is comfortable and make sense for us and it's different for every person but what we don't want to do is to continue to beat ourselves up or have that negative self talk if we are feeling uncomfortable or we see people in our lives who are feeling uncomfortable. 'cause then we're not able to support them well. Speaking of mental fitness certainly got a workout over the past thirteen or fourteen months. Now didn't it. Yes yes it did you know. And that's it's one of those. I don't know i'm trying to look for the silver lining because one of the lessons. That has come out of this is that we are talking about mental health a lot more these days you know you and i and you in north range have talked about mental health for years. And you know. We've talked about the stigma and how important it is to bring that down and that that is a barrier to us taking care of ourselves and others but this experience in this past year has gotten us to a point where we had to look at it. We have to call it. We have to say it Because it it's pervasive in our lives. We all kind of feel feel stress. Anxiety added us You know whether we want to own it or not. It's effective all.

"In all but one of the communities boulder the medium price of homes that sold in the past month was greater than the median price. One month ago now lauren. Hanson is ceo of irish the multiple listing service in the region. She had two words to describe this particular situation. Crazy town adding. It's on fire not literally but figuratively boulder sides median decline from one million five hundred fifty seven thousand five hundred dollars in march. Didn't drop all that much. Still rather spendy to live in boulder to one million five hundred seventeen five hundred dollars in april. So that's what forty thousand dollar drop but that's still thirty. Four point eight nine percents higher than it was a year ago. In april in all of the communities the mediums were drawn from relatively low numbers of properties selling in boulders case. It was eighty four. Estes park book the highest dollar gain in its median price price. Pretty well blue way. April twenty s medium. The twenty twenty. One median was seven hundred. Twenty three thousand five hundred dollars compared with six hundred and thirty nine thousand dollars a month ago. Twenty twenty one number was forty point. Eight percent higher than the twenty twenty number for april similarly the longmont april median was Twenty six point two percent higher than twenty twenty in april like the other communities longmont prices were affected by the lack of supply. Seems to be the bane of everyone's existence when it comes to a veil ability when it comes to the number of homes that you have to choose from well let's just say in relative terms pretty few and far between and how many times have we talked about that fact that particular with tracy accident from fm s. bank just ninety six active listings in longmont eighty four properties sold in april. Meanwhile looking at fort collins they posted a five hundred eleven thousand four hundred fifty medium price in april up from four hundred ninety five thousand dollars in march up. Fourteen point nine percent over april twenty twenty now in fort collins. The number of properties listed and selling each month has been steadily climbing two hundred and fifty six sold in april compared with two hundred and thirty nine in march but apparently not nearly enough to satiate the appetite of fires looking to get into the fort collins market taking a look at greeley greeley median of three hundred sixty five thousand dollars. This too was up up from three hundred fifty. Four thousand two hundred and.

"You know it wasn't that long ago maybe thirteen or fourteen months that most of us had no idea who dr anthony fouts she was now. Everybody knows his name whether we want to or not yes our epidemiologist in chief seemingly a man with unbridled power and control. How did that happen. And who holds them accountable. Six thirty six now thirteen ten. Kfi a thirteen ten kfi a dot com northern colorado's voice mornings with gail the of the auto collision specialist studios. Well steve dis and todd. Erzen decided to explore that question and the result is a number one wall street journal bestseller thou- and bargain the most powerful and dangerous bureaucrats in american history joined by todd. Todd thanks for taking the time certainly appreciate it up. So let's start with the last question. I who is. Dr anthony bounty. And how did he. He elevated to this position in which he seemingly has so much power but very little accountability well also. He's the most highly paid federal employees in the government. He's been doing the job. He currently has for thirty plus years so in actuality he's exactly the kind of quote unquote expert that you'd want to have ready to go. Spend his whole life and public service. Ready to protect The public when a pandemic it did finally come along but in the end we listen. I'm a father of four daughters here. So i say this with great love but in the end we got basically somebody With the affinities a fifteen year old girl who likes to have video of him on tic tac spread throughout the country. He he just loves the attention and he loved the attention standing next to at the outset of this trump who is hated by the press. And so there you for you. As a for perfect storm where the people who are supposed to hold people accountable ability to press and they were already bad at that before the pandemic now they were just drunk on saying and doing anything to align against the president of the united states and therefore ci became a democrat. And i'm not endorsing president trump by saying that one way or the other. This is really not about it. Mrs about your question. How is she anointed. Well had fauci been standing next to a different president of the united states. I think some of this if not all of this could have looked a lot different. You know. I understand that science changes particularly when you're talking about a novel corona virus. I get it but the problem is isn't it sometimes better to say nothing when you're in a situation the you flip flop and i'm talking about dr anthony saying you know when all of this started. Covert nineteen. oh no. Don't worry about wearing a mask. You don't need to wear a mask and all of a sudden well here we are. It goes to credibility. Not just the masks from the outset he also said That there would be a really no no danger from symptomatic spread because of all of what we understand of respiratory viruses throughout The last hundred years and he was right about that. He said this was likely to be a bad flu for most demographics. That's exactly what it was so he was right about that and then something happened. We're not entirely sure what it was increasingly based on some of the research. That's out there going on right now since the books come out and what's included in the book in may have to do with his culpability with whatever happened in the wuhan lab letting this virus out but he changed his tune and not only did he changed his tune but he changed his tune it despite the fact that there have been experts all along from the back in january february march of two thousand twenty. Who disagreed with him. Fundamentally on lockdown and masks yet the narrative about she has we started out in. This conversation was chosen above all when you consider how the press is simply ignored. The fact that there are experts from harvard stanford oxford carnegie mellon that simply don't matter and that dr atlas when he came into the white house was turned into some sort of evil bond villain when he actually had as much expertise on managing a pandemic As far from a different perspective because he's a public policy expert yet he needed to be demonized. That should have all asking questions. And certainly more than ear intimates. What inspect are the motivations for continuing to convince us that it just until last week we needed to wear masks outside when the sciences never supported that right exactly. Oh and you're gonna love this todd because now dr fauci saying well. We'll get to the point in this pandemic where mass will be seasonal. And i'm like well. Which season is this. A springtime fashion accessories at derby hat. Mike goodness i mean he just came out on mother's day and said maybe we'll be getting back to normal next mother's day. I really honestly do not know what it's going to take For the churches and the pitchforks to come out and get that guy fired. And i'm not being remotely hyperbolic about that. And that's fundamentally what book is about. It is about how easy it is about covid but beyond that is about we the people our duty as citizens to the truth and one another and upholding the tenants of this country and we are going to continue to get experts. Who treat us like stupid children like this whether it's covid before this. Did you think you were going to spend the last five years fighting the gender wars and who gets to use the bathroom and it's going to happen right after we go back to quote unquote normal. The next thing is gonna come along that the likes of rama manual. Thanks to never let a good crisis go to waste. We are going to be manipulated. We need to stop that. We need to grow up. We need to this. Country was never designed to be run by experts. It was designed to be run like us and we need to stopping sheep. Six forty two now thirteen ten. Kfi a thirteen ten kfi k. a. dot com joined by todd. Erzen co author. Along with steve piece of the number one wall street journal bestseller. Faustian bargain the most powerful and dangerous bureaucrat. In american history. Yeah it is. We the people not. We've the sheep but why is that. We seem so willing particularly in a time of cancel culture. Which could have something to do with it We so willing to silence ourselves when we are fed. Stuff that just Well it just doesn't.

"They'll want to wait. With some understandable hesitancy to get their kids vaccinated which is why. Ask you the question if you have kids or grandkids that age. Are you going to be an early adopter and urged them to get that vaccine to get the foul she ouchi or you can take a wait and see approach some public school systems. Needless to say planning to encourage families to get their kids immunized than to offer shots at a vaccination sites in schools and elsewhere. Now here's where it gets kind of interesting because don't know where you stand on the whole vaccination question but one thing that we do know for a fact. Is that many school districts just across the board generally require students be vaccinated against infectious diseases like measles and months. But you had several school superintendents of larger districts saying well. They probably won't immediately require students to be inoculated against covid nineteen for in person learning because the vaccine the vaccine is authorized for emergency use rather than having that full. Fda approval. so i ask the obvious question. I understand the difference between something that is authorized for emergency use and a full fda approval. But it seems to me if it isn't safe even though it is being used an emergency situation which if you look at the pandemic yeah. I suppose that totally qualifies again. Don't know where you stand on the whole vaccination question but if it's good enough for emergency use then this full. Fda approval which seems to be lagging. A bits isn't it just kind of icing on the cake. I mean are they going to give us something that is ultimately going to have negative impacts. Fda approval is a much more rigorous process and they wanted to get the shot into as many arms as possible covid nineteen vaccines for kids under twelve years of age under twelve years of age. Now this opens up a whole new can of worms may be available in the nation by the end of the year. Pfizer said it anticipates. Da in september to authorize. Its vaccines us in kids ages. Two to eleven years of age should ongoing studies prove positive. Wait a minute has one thing that has remained somewhat consistent through this ever changing litany of following the science. The science does your is that kids are lower risk of covid nineteen backs Infection much lower risk than adults and when they are infected. They tend to experience milder symptoms. Now all that said some can become seriously ill and some can spread. the virus. bud begs the question once again. Are you comfortable now. The kids ages. Twelve to fifteen fifteen can get the vaccine. What about babies. What about children ages. Two to eleven. If this comes to fruition obviously to limit wrists to kids drug researchers usually i test experiment experimental medicines in adults during the pandemic health authorities gave priority to inoculating those most vulnerable to the serious cases including the elderly. Now during recent gathering this was hosted by the american academy of pediatrics. About twenty percent of pediatricians attending said they were already giving vaccinations to people who were at least sixteen years of age now came cross the pike. And i'm going to try to reach out to a gentleman at sink jude deatrich neurologist. And his name is Let's see his director of saint jude global infectious disease. His name is dr corneliu and he's acting To this fda decision to authorize to extend that emergency authorization to kids twelve to fifteen. Didn't see anything about kids. "As wall street journal writes. Jared s hopkins. Thomas burton jennifer. Kalfa this authored. This piece saying that health regulators have for the first time cleared a cove nineteen. Vaccines us for kids. Paving the way for many to be immunized before summer camps and the start of the next school year even Anthony fauci our nar. Grinchey epidemiologists in in chief. Oh and by the way. I'm gonna talk to the co author of a great new book. The aptly named faustian bargain fell cheat. Bargain the most powerful and dangerous bureaucrat. In american history. Todd erzen co watts. This book with steve dece and they both Host radio program. Both of them were newspaper reporters. Std's has written seven books. This is todd's first book. But i've actually had the opportunity to excerpt a lot of what they say in this book and they raise some very good points so totters and author co author of a thou- in bargain joins us this morning at six thirty five but kind of cracks me up because here it is. I mean the opening paragraph talking about the fact that the biontech pfizer cove nineteen vaccine is now available for twelve to fifteen year olds and very just right out the gate saying that. This paves the way for many to be immunized before summer camps and the start of the next school year. Have you seen those rotating. And i mean that's kind of the definition of what we've been dealing with the over the past thirteen or fourteen months of this pandemic those ever changing guidelines and rules and mandates relative to covid nineteen but when the cdc came out for their with their guidance for the summer camps even foul cheese. Said you know. They seem a bit strict. It's going to be a fascinating conversation with toddlers when he joins us this morning at six thirty five. So you've got millions of people ages sixteen years and older but they've already taken the shot from visor biontech are you among them. The us food and drug administration's decision. Just this past monday widens. The joins us once again to kids as young as twelve. The move comes after a study of about two thousand two hundred sixty adolescents to doe shot worked safely in that age group. It's expanded use is expected to boost vaccination campaign seeking to immunize as many people as possible before even more of those variants because what does virus do well. Virus will find a way mutates and they're concerned about even more dangerous. Variants that will emerge that may may be able to allude the coverage provided by the covid nineteen vaccine. So you had acting fda commissioner janet woodcock saying that the agency made its decision after what she referred to as a ridge rigorous and thorough review of data. On the vaccine safety and efficacy. Not to mention effectiveness in adolescence. Now the authorization could also bolster. Schools efforts to open classrooms. Full time to middle and high school students for five days a week. Many districts have already announced a fulltime reopening plans for the fall but again that decision is fungible. it's flexible because those decisions are being guided by the virus. And how many times have we talked with deirdre. Pilch greeley evans school district. Six superintendent. She and her colleagues have done just an amazing job in terms of doing everything they could in time defined by covid nineteen to get those schools open and unfortunately closed down whenever they had an outbreak in one of their cohorts. But doing all the right things to get arch kids safely back to school. More than one hundred. And fourteen million americans mostly adults have at this point in time been fully vaccinated this according to the ever so credible. Us centers for disease control and prevention health. Experts say kids will need to be inoculated to reach community wide immunity. It's interesting that kind of dropped the term herd immunity from the lexicon because you had some experts saying well we're going to achieve herd immunity by april. While that didn't happen here it is may so now. we're talking about community wide immunity. I mean are. We splitting hairs here. Nine seven hundred three five three thirteen. Drop me attacks on our thirteen ten. Kfi a text line but again with community wide immunity. at least as the most recent narrative goes that will enable us to drop pandemic precautions fully. But wait a minute. Didn't you have Dr fauci coming out saying well mask wearing will at some points in the not too distant future. It'll be seasonal. Oh great. So what season spring fall winter. What about summertime summertime right around the corner. Summertime is and you know they just don't want to let go of the mask wearing even outside even when you are socially distance you're with your family or with your friends your with your cohorts. Oh no but they don't wanna drop that less vestige in my very humble opinion that last vestige of consummate power and control so oh okay well now it's seasonal but which season well those seasons change seasons tend to do since adolescence. We'll take the same shot as well. We older folk have already gotten those of us have gotten the vaccine inoculations and the younger group could start in pharmacies and mass vaccination as soon as states deemed them eligible expanded eligibility could come as early as thursday this. According to peter marks he had the fda division that regulates the vaccines some adolescents would be fully vaccinated before they head off to summer camps and like boot camps. If you look at some of the restrictions that are in place in terms of attending though some accounts many would be protected against the symptomatic disease by the time their next school year starts. I a committee of experts advising the centers for disease control and prevention. Well there tentatively scheduled to meet tomorrow to review the study data and decide whether to recommend giving the shots to us. Wait a minute. I thought already made that decision. Just a ball of confusion. Federal government working with states pharmacy chains pediatricians other groups to determine the logistics of administering. The shots to kids surveys suggest and survey says that some parents will seek to get their adolescent children vaccinated as soon as possible while other parents..
