"I don't know what they're doing over there. I guess they're doing morrowind's things. The things that tomorrow winds mostly do, but it's just sort of sucks that they're still doing those things. Yeah, and it's like even you're right that they don't have they just don't really have the same kind of depth to trade from that they once did. I think the book is kind of out on 6 dough like people know what's going on there and he's injured anyway and like max Meyer and he's Tommy on and I don't know you have Joey Wendell? Yep. You know, you have a you have a Joey Wendell. So that's something, but yeah, it's nearly enough. It's not nearly enough. And they have had some, they've had J table a day. It was just. So yeah, I don't know, man. I don't know, man. No one clamors for more marwan's talk when we don't discuss the Marlins no one's like, you guys never, we get you never talk about the reds, discussion, because that's been a running bit. And now it's a bit of a podcast, right? But we don't really get that much talk more when they need to give us some reasons to talk more. I'm willing. I'm here. Remember that Chris Bryant is a rocky that just came out because you were saying earlier like the rockies and their love affair with relievers. But also with Chris Bryant. And then it pops into my head. I clearly didn't remember what I mean not referencing him, a position player which might have been better. But why would you? Every day with that, it just surfaces in my mind. I wonder what Chris Bryant is up to these days.

"There are a bit of an awkward start there for number 12 at lemon taffy. A good beginning for fast Corey and fast Corey is out for the early lead. Now moving up his union, Dolly on the outside. Proper grammar is next in third and then comes I am buzzy and for the 5 length break back to classic land and lemon taffy and the trailer is quick power nap in 7th upfront fast Corey and union Dolly through a quarter and 22 and a four on buzzy is on the move and up into third. Proper grammar. Now back running in fourth, it's four lengths two classic Lin and FF who's about ten lengths from the front and then farther back it's lemon taffy and quick power nap. The leader is fast Corey challenged here on the outside by a union Dolly union Dolly in fast Corey right together coming into the stretch with on buzzy on the outside and third and classic Lin now getting closer and gaining on the outside. The field is moving for the 8th pole. Here comes classic laying on the outside of am buzzy. I'm buzzy and classic Lin. It's between these two as they pass the 16th pole. I'm buzzing on the inside. Classic Glenn on the outside. The two of them right together on the line and it looked like I'm buzzy got it. Narrowly over classic Lin as we wrap up the Friday card. That was a pretty good race down the stretch between a couple of Phillies who looked like they're better on turf than they are on dirt, don't tell that to classic Lin and I'm buzzy. Those two down to the line together looked like John and brielle was right. I'm buzzy, I think, just holding off classic Lin. I'm gonna call it 9 four ten unofficially in the 9th and final at aqueduct. All right, we're going to take a break. When we come back, we owe you prices from both Keenan. Hopefully from aqueduct, we're going to be joined by max Meyer from Caesar sports book to talk a little college football. This is betting with Bobby presented by Caesar's race book.

"They're off in the JPMorgan Chase, jessamyn steaks delight. Is a way running for the early lead to light comes right to the front bling is there. Tow head from that far outside starting spot, moves up to press the issue as well. Bling between horses has the lead delight to the inside a second tow head is close up in third. CC cruise control and close quarters down to the inside fourth recognize moves by the center of the course from the 5th position, promise of hope moves up two spots from 6th around the first turn, recognize had to go very wide from the back of the pack, moves up from the center of the pack now up within four lengths of the lead. And then further back, blind spot is down to the inside of dual Sia, heading off the first turn onto the backstretch, Stephanie's charm, knock your socks off, happy gal sabalenka is at the back, the opening quarter, 24.32 seconds, delight is the leader delight lead CC cruise control and bling by just a length and a half. They are joined then by towhead forth out the center of the course, blind spot down to the inside up close and 5th, 49.61, the time for the opening half mile. Over to the far turn delight leads it by a length and a half bling a second by just a neck, CC cruise control, third toe head forth, and now moving up toward the far outside within three lengths of the lead around the turn, promise of hope recognize who is wide again on the turn out in the center of the course recognizes still 6 legs from the front, delight leads bling by a length toe head is in third, recognized and CC cruise control, who is looking for room down toward the inside three likes from the lead delight is the leader bling his second CC cruise control is in third. Tow head is then forth, and then knock your socks off, who's in 5th, dual see a sex, delight the leader, delight on top by three by four, back to bling and second, then CC cruise control, knock your socks off, have a link coming late. No catching the light. Delight much the best for jockey, Louis sieze in the JPMorgan Chase, jessamyn steaks. Pretty tight for the miners. There are no doubt about the winner and the public had it right number three delight who ends up being the 7 to two favorite very tepid favorite at post time with short lead turning into the stretch and then just kicked it into overdrive down the lane, draws off to win very impressively coming and covering the mile in a 16th in one minute, 44 seconds flat doesn't sound all that fast, but the stretch run what was really impressive with the light just came home. She came home in less than 6 seconds flat for that final 16th of a mile delight. Now getting her second straight win and she certainly looks she's on the like she's on the improve at the right time Augustine stable owns Jonathan Thomas trains. This daughter of mendelssohn, who is headed, well, right back there, about four weeks from now to try the breeders cup juvenile Phillies turf as what you would think would be one of the favorites in the race. I mentioned going in, I'm not really sure if the winner of the breeders cup juvenile Phillies turf is coming out of this race. If it is, if she is rather, it's probably going to be delight because she just humbled this field. I don't know what she beat in this spot, but she beat them like a good Philly would beat them. And she looked good doing it down the lane. Let's get over to aqueduct. They're getting close to post time for the 9th and final race on their program today. Hopefully we'll get a chance to get some San Anita in as well. And after this race at aqueduct, we're going to be joined by max Meyer from Caesar sportsbook, talk a little bit of college football. This 9th race at aqueduct was originally scheduled to be 6 furlongs on the turf. It has been moved over to the main track in the main track as fast Phillies and mayors that are non winners of two races, lifetime, they're in for a claiming price of $30,000. Scratch numbers two, three, 5, 7, and 8. We've got a field of 7 now going to post the two that are getting the most money right now or number one quick power nap and number four classic Lin. They are both two to one on the board just a tad more money on classic win for Joe sharp and Dylan Davis dropping in class. He had tried stakes competition for New York breads last year and earlier this year, then dropped into the allowance ranks, dropped into a condition 50 claimer last time out, and now drops even further. Problem you have with classic land is she looks like she's better on turf than she is on dirt. She's not great on turf. So you want to take a short price on her just on the class drop. Number one quick power nap is getting all the late money because she's kind of headed the other direction. She's coming off a maiden when last time out, so she's looking like she's getting better and better with each and every start. The problem you have with quick power nap is you got to take 9 to 5 runner right now and she's never run on the dirt. She's worked well on the dirt, including a bullet for furlong work at Saratoga about a month and a half ago. It doesn't necessarily mean she's going to run well on the dirt and I would be happier taking a little bit of a better price, trying the main track for the first time. But kind of tells you what's in this field. If quick power nap is two to one and classic Lin is 5 to two, the competition is not so good. That's not the greatest field of Philly and mayor sprinters we've ever seen. There's a lot of question marks. A lot of turf form and we're really not sure how well they're going to run on the dirt form. That kind of a thing. I'm buzzy going in. She's raised 13 times of which 12 of them have been on turf. She's only 5 to one in the wage ring. So this is a real grab bag, even though it's only a 7 horse field. A few more left to go in right now, union Dolly won from the outside. She had good turf form, not as good on the dirt. We'll see what happens. And lemon taffy with Omar Hernandez Moreno to complete the line. Here's John embryo. And

Not only do they have three graded stakes today, they've got 5 graded stakes tomorrow, a couple more graded stakes on Sunday, one of the Sunday stakes is going to be this year's edition of the grade one spinster and nice call there from our good friend Kurt Becker on the 2004 edition of the grade one spinster won by the legendary azeri Wayne Lucas Allen Paulson pat day involved with azeri that afternoon. That was actually the final win in the career of azeri 17 wins and all from 20 four career starts. 17 for 24 was azeri. She made over $4 million in her career and the final win of that career was in the 2004 edition of the spinster, which at that point was sponsored by overbrook farm. I don't think overbrook farm exists anymore. But they sponsored the spinster way back. When this year's spinster, well, do we have any legends or possible legends in that race? I think it's too early to say this early, but you got some pretty good Phillies and mayors in there, including male fat coming off a nice win in her most recent start with is also in the race looking to get back to her best form. They will be the major players in this year's spinster goes as the featured race on the Sunday card over at keenland. As we mentioned, we will be covering the races at keenland today. Let's give you an update on what's going on at keenland. Right now, 66° in Lexington, Kentucky, partly cloudy skies, main track is fast. The turf is firm over at keenland, and right now they're in the paddock with about 14 minutes to post for the first of three graded stakes on today's program, the Phoenix stakes, a race that it was supposed to go at four 12. They're running about 5 minutes late with typical just opening day minor delays heavy favored in the race right now a little bit surprising is number 5 sibelius, not that he can't win the race, not that he shouldn't be favored in the race. But he's 5 to two on the morning line and he's never run in a graded state before. He demolished allowance foes at Saratoga two starts back and then demolished minor stake foes in the light the fuse at pimlico in his most recent start. Now he's going to try great at state competition and public seems to think that his current form is too good for this field. He is your even money favorite right now. If you'd like to get in touch with the show, phone number, the lines are open. Phone number to get in, 888-966-4776, that's triple 8, 9 6 6 four 7 7 6. You can also email me directly anytime. Bobby at horse racing radio net. That's BO BBY. Love to hear from you, especially via phone today. I would like to know a race you're really looking forward to playing this weekend. Could be something today at keelan, could be one of the major stakes Saturday or Sunday, keenland, they've got graded stakes galore at aqua aqueduct rather, both days. They've got great stakes up at woodbine. They've got a great state bread program over at Charles town this weekend and San Anita also with some big stakes this weekend. And a lot of them really the major final preps at those various racetracks leading up to the breeders cup. I would like to know a race you're really looking forward to this weekend either really looking forward to watching or really looking forward to playing. Speaking of playing the races, following the betting with Bobby show presented by Caesar's race book, I'll be back for the weekend stakes preview tonight and I'm flying solo tonight on the weekend stakes preview. But don't fret, Dave Friedman, who doesn't unfortunately is on assignment from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight. He's going to join me during the second hour of betting with Bobby to talk a little bit about some of the races he's really looking forward to this weekend. Hopefully we'll get some of his handicapping insight since I'm flying solo on the weekend stakes preview. I can't believe I'm trying to do this. I am going to try to cover 19 races on tonight's show. Some of them may be a little bit quicker than others. Some of the opinions may be a little bit better than others. I've got a strong mix of big favorites and pretty solid long shots that I'm looking at in tonight's edition of the weekend stakes preview and as always that comes from 6 to 7 p.m. tonight and every Friday night here on the network. Okay, also want to let you know we've got great guests coming up today. Mentioned already that Dave Friedman is going to be joining us in our number two max Meyer from Caesar's sportsbook. He's been talking a lot about the NFL with us this week. I'm going to see if he can help us a little bit with some college football as well. We'll ask him about three games on tomorrow's docket. Also going to be joined about 25 minutes from now by trainer John sheriff's. Of course, John sheriffs has had plenty of Kentucky Derby and breeders cup success already with horses like giacomo and zenyatta. He's got a couple of interesting two year olds in the stakes tomorrow at Santa Anita. He's got just who may end up being the favorite in the chandelier and he's got skinner a maiden who looks like he's improving facing some pretty tough Bob Baffert trainees like cave rock and hijazi skinner, one of the ones in the American pharaoh. So going to be fun to talk with John sheriffs and pick his brain on exactly what's going on with these two year olds in the path that they've taken to get here. Once again, the number to get in if you like to call 888-966-4776 is the number. We can tell you right now that at keenland horses have been saddled, they are in the paddock in the walking ring I should say they have left the paddock, they're in the walking ring now and they're waiting for the jocks to come out of the jocks room and meet them for the first of three graded stakes on today's card the grade two Phoenix will have live coverage from that. Over at aqueduct, there are about 17 minutes away from their next live race race 8 on their card. All right, we're going to take our first break when we come back. We're going to dive right into the live action. This is betting with Bobby presented by Caesar's race book.

"Places where the other team is favored by a half a point. I guess now since ties are actually a possibility in the NFL, you could actually be favored by a half a point. Where does Caesars have this game? Yeah, so we originally had this chiefs two and a half point road favorites and we're at pickup. So we've definitely been getting good money on the box. So this is a major discrepancy alert. I guess I would say just because the chiefs are getting about 75% of the tickets, but the bucks are getting 74% of the money. So that's typically telling that this is a public versus sharps type of game. Chiefs, at least with the public, I think that the chiefs still have a little more trust with their offense and the Buccaneers, even though the chiefs offense hasn't exactly lit the world with their performance in the past two weeks. But the Buccaneers, they get Mike Evans back. Chris Godwin, he's going to be a game time decision and obviously he'd be a big boost if he comes back. And Buccaneers, I mean, these two defenses have been really strong so far. This season. And that's why the total drop from 47 and a half to 45 and a half. But any time we get Patrick Mahomes versus Tom Brady, especially going up against each other, this should be a treat of a matchup. And yeah, with both teams coming off a loss and the offense is in a bit of a rut. This is definitely a matchup where we'll be looking for each of these offenses to bounce back. So once again, when you're talking about sharps against public or tickets versus money, you're talking about most of the ten and $20 players are playing Kansas City, but the 10,020 $1000 players are playing Tampa Bay. In a broad sense, yes. And we did actually, we did take a $110,000 bet on Buccaneers plus one. But even if you took out that bet, the bucket here would still be around 60% of the money for all spread bets in this one. So yeah, definitely definitely the more respected betters, a lot of them are on the Buccaneers. And the public just seeing the Buccaneers, they needed that last minute drive by Brady that even break double digits against the packers last week. And the chiefs, even though they didn't come through against the cold, they were one of the most popular bets of the season against the cold last weekend. And so they're thinking chiefs off a loss. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, like still two of the top offensive, one of the top offensive minds in the NFL and one of the best quarterbacks. And so it's definitely going to be interesting. The fact that this line has been around pick them for the entire week. And it's a Sunday Night stand-alone game. So this is definitely going to be one of the games that drives the most action. Before we let you go, max, obviously, Caesars puts their lines up early, basically, as soon as the week before is done, you can almost always get the lines for the coming week. What percentage of the money in general is bet on game day as opposed to earlier in the week? Game day is definitely where most of the money will come in. But I mean, just given the popularity of the NFL and new states continuing to legalize sports betting, there's definitely been a lot more money throughout the week coming in on NFL spreads. And really, the rise of player props, that's been especially interesting so far this NFL season, just the amount of action that we've been getting on these even during the week let alone on Sunday. But yeah, it is NFL Sunday when the injury when the final injury reports come out and so close to the game that will always be the biggest day in terms of betting action. Max, we really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule. Look forward to watching all the matchups this weekend, taking part in the Caesar sportsbook max Meyer editorial content writer at Caesar sportsbook joining us this afternoon. Of course, anytime and have a good weekend, everyone. All right, good information there. By the way, horse racing fans rejoiced the Caesars

"Over at aqueduct after uncle mo retired he's gone on to become one of the top stallions in the country and in what is possibly the greatest segue of all time talking about the greatest stallions in the country. Pleased to be joined now by max Meyer, the editorial content writer at Caesar's sportsbook max, you're never going to get a better intro than that, my friend. No, I appreciate it. And definitely the highlight of my week so far. All right, well, we're knee deep in football action now as the season as of last night is a quarter over for some teams are almost a quarter over for some teams. We've got a lot of big matchups coming up once again this weekend. So let's take a look at a few of them. Start with the bills and the ravens. These are a couple of teams that have really good offenses, not so much defenses. Yeah, and so this one is the game of the day in my opinion. This line has been a bills minus three throughout the week. Even though the totals dropped from 54 and a half to 51, there's definitely weather in play at Baltimore this weekend just with hurricane Ian. So strong chance of precipitation and double digit wins are on the double digit mile power winds are on the forecast too. So with the weather, obviously the bills are very pass heavy team, ravens are run heavy. So advantage ravens there. Bills are still getting 68% or about 68% of the tickets against the spread only 56% of the money though. And this is battle between two of the top MVP candidates. Josh Allen is the three to one favorite. Lamar Jackson is third at plus 5 50 and there's a very good chance that the winner of this game will likely be atop the MVP odds board come Sunday Night or Monday morning. One of the more intriguing matchups this weekend is Jacksonville in Philadelphia. And probably a lot of people didn't think you were going to be able to say that at the beginning of the season. Any time the word Jacksonville comes in, it doesn't sound like one of the most attractive matchups with Jacksonville two and one going into the game eagles undefeated at three and O. Every now and then max, I look at the lines and I say they're begging you to take one side and with the eagles undefeated and at home and laying just under 7.6 and a half last time I looked, it seems like the eagles are getting a whole lot of ink, but they're almost begging the betters to bet on the eagles. Is this where we're supposed to bet on Jacksonville? I mean, this one is, I mean, I wouldn't fall any better for taking either side. I mean, these have definitely been two of the more impressive teams to start the season. And we had this at eagles -7 and just with the Jaguars action at 7. That's why we're at 6 and a half now. And congrats to all the eagles betters who got them at 50 to one to be the last undefeated team this regular season. That was a pretty quick payout. It's kind of crazy that there's only one undefeated team left this early on in the season. This one pretty split action, eagles, about 54% of the tickets, Jaguars, about 62% of the money. So I would say sharper money is on the Jaguars. And a huge coaching upgrade for Jacksonville going from urban Meyer to Doug Peterson and Peterson obviously makes his return to Philadelphia on Sunday. And the Jaguars, I mean, definitely a lot of love for Trevor Lawrence and his continue to be lowered in the MVP market, but the defense has been really impressive as well. They shut out the colts a couple of weeks ago and I know Justin Herbert was banged up, but still only giving up ten to the Chargers in LA last weekend very impressive as well. So I think that this is definitely a game we're going to learn a lot about each of these teams. And the winner of this one is definitely going to be, I mean, the eagles are already there, but when our visit is definitely going to be viewed as one of the top Super Bowl contenders, I think. Then, of course, later on in the day, Kansas City visits Tampa Bay in a battle of two and one teams and another, the second straight week in a row, the Tampa Bay is embroiled in a monster quarterback matchup they had to face Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers last week and they get Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs this week. Interesting line movement from what I've seen max, I've seen some places where it's pick them, some places where one team is favored by a point, some teams

eagles ravens Jacksonville max Meyer hurricane Ian Josh Allen Lamar Jackson Jaguars O. Every mo Philadelphia Baltimore bills MVP football Doug Peterson

"Pair, two more back to batu Khan, and it's a long way to English encounter. Quarter of a mile to go and Naismith has been in charge every step of the way, turns for home, full of run with a three length advantage. Kawasaki is in second the key is unity picking it up on the far outside. There's an 8th ago, and it's Naismith in front by two and a half percolators in second, followed by the key as unity. Here's percolate, running down Nate Smith, and the key is unity on the outside. Here is the line percolate wins it by a head. The key is unity just missed. Naismith faltered late, then it was battalion and Kawasaki, battling it out for four. Unofficial time for the mile, believe it or not, one 33 and four and it wasn't a runaway finish of that turf is definitely firm at San Anita as maidens in for a $50,000 tag swiftly in the mile one 33.90 seconds percolate had been running against meat and specialty competition the first 6 starts of his career. Well, one race over in Europe and then 5 starts here in the states against maiden special weights, drops in for a tag for the first time in the best hop is the drop as they say. Percolate gets the job done. Bet down too. 5 to 5 to one on the morning line ends up the second choice in the wagering at 5 to two two 7 four, the unofficial top three in the opener at San Anita. "To bedding with Bobby presented by Caesar's race book. Pleased to be joined now by max Meyer. He's the editorial content writer at Caesar's sportsbook and max, I know you've got both eyes and ears on everything NFL this weekend. We've got some great match ups, my friend. Yeah, I'm very excited for this slate. And should be a very interesting Sunday indeed. So there are three games that I'm particularly interested in looking at this weekend. Let's start with one of the early games Kansas City Chiefs at the Indianapolis Colts chiefs undefeated two and oh, the colts already with a tie on their docket O one and one coming in and they're finding themselves as a home underdog, any trends or ways the money's going so far in this game. Yeah, so this line was as high as chief -7 earlier in the week and now it's down to 5 and a half. And actually there's been over twice as much money bet on the chiefs to cover the spread than any other team for week three as of now at Caesars. So definitely a lot of public support for the chiefs. And that's not a surprise. I mean, the chiefs are too the colts just coming off a shout out to the Jaguars and they tied the lowly Texans in week one as well. The chiefs have done 88% of the tickets about 74% of the handle. We did take one pretty sizable bet on the colts 55,000 called 6 and a half. So there's definitely been some sharper action on the colts at bigger numbers. And I mean, this was a team that was viewed as a playoff team heading into the season as the ASC south favorite. So I think that some sharps are taking indie in a buy low spot. And the public sees the chiefs that under a touchdown right now and they're continuing to pile on them. When you have this big a one sided play, one side or the other, as far as the action going, do you find it more to be on the team they're playing on or against the team that they're playing against? Well, typically, if it's this type of one sided action, it's on a favorite that has a lower spread. Just because if you better see a line that's under a field goal or under a touchdown with a team that's perceived as dominant, they're thinking is, oh, all they have to do is win by a field or all they have to do is win by a touchdown. And that's typically where you see these lopsided percentages most. All right, another interesting game on the Sunday docket and another early game is buffalo and Miami, a couple of undefeated teams coming into this one and another race, another spot where we've got a favorite going on the road, the bills or another one of those teams that seem to be the in team for a lot of people. I think they were favored in a lot of spots before the season started as far as Super Bowl contenders. Where's the action in this game? Yep. And yeah, and the bills were Super Bowl favorites for us before the season. They're still Super Bowl favorites. This line, we had it builds four and a half earlier in the week. It's up to 5 and a half. This is also the highest total on the board for the week three games at 53, not a surprise with two high flying offenses. The bills have gotten 82% of the tickets in about 74% of the handle. Not a surprise even given the dolphins surging starts just with the bills. I mean, they look so dominant against the rams and Titans. This is definitely going to be one of the more popularly backed teams all season long, even going up against a division foe that looks like a contender themselves in the dolphins. But the bills, they do have a lot of injuries on defense and so with this total being as high as it is, that's definitely one number that betters are looking at. The about two thirds of the action for this total. So I mean, this is a really exciting game, probably the one that I'm most looking forward to this weekend. And yeah, it will see if and Tyreke and jaylen waddle, if those guys have that offensive for real, even against the bank Bill defense. All right. So you mentioned the bills got getting 80 something percent of the money, 70 something percent of the tickets, is there a percentage wise that when it reaches that percentage, that's when Caesar's moves the point to half a point either way? Lose the line. Typically with line movement, we respond more from sharper action or respected betters. Versus the public. And so I guess with the chiefs colts game, like we were getting some sharper bets and some bigger bets on colts at plus 7 and plus 6 and a half and that's when we moved the line. We're not really going to move the line as often from a surge of public money just because we're kind of anticipating that that's going to be the case, especially with the bills getting under a touchdown in this game. I guess like when it's closer to game time on Sunday, if there's still like an absurd level of action on the bills, like if it gets to like the 90s or something, like, sure, yeah, we'll move it up. But then it's also a way to see when the sharper and the bigger bets are coming in on the other side. And that tells us if the line's gone too high. Speaking with max Meyer, the editorial content writer at Caesar sportsbook, one late game that certainly intriguing and is going to get a lot of viewership as Green Bay at Tampa Bay batter of a battle of future Hall of Fame quarterbacks and Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady Buccaneers undefeated at home, but only a very slight favorite early on. Yeah, and so this line was actually, it was bux minus three on Monday, and it went all the way down to pick them earlier today and it's now back up slightly to buck's minus one. This one has had really interesting betting splits as far as the spread, Buccaneers, 63 and a half percent of the tickets, though it's the packers that have gotten about 62% of the money. So it's interesting to see one side getting the majority of the tickets and the other side getting the majority of the money. And that typically is an indicator that for the tickets that it's the public that's betting that side versus the handle, it's like the bigger and the sharper bets. But in this case, I just think it's the packers, you don't get the packers as an underdog that often. And the bucks with all their issues with their offensive line injuries and their wide receiver injuries or the Mike Evans suspension. There is probably some public money coming in on the packers as well. And what other notable move for this game, the total has absolutely sunk. We had it at 46 and a half earlier in the week. Now it's down to 42. And you're thinking Aaron Rodgers first Tom Brady, how is the number this low, but just goes to show like all the issues on offense at the bucks they're having. And both of these teams have been playing low scoring games so far this season. All right, max, really appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule going to be a fun weekend of NFL action coming up this weekend. "The turn and down the stretch. Now shortening back up and trying the turf sprint at aqueduct, so it kind of looks like they're not exactly sure what race is best for whom me. They're trying to let him kind of work his way out and tell them where he wants to be. I will say this. If the first time starter can run and that being number four eyewitness, by the way, there are other first time starters in here, but not for trainers who don't win quite as often first time out. If number four eyewitness can run or number 8, it's all coming together number 9 fire king improved like most two year olds do from their debuts to their second start. Number ten whom he is probably not going to win. And up to ten to one right now, not going to try to, I don't want to talk you off it. I never talk people off price horses because what's the point? You can bet a little to make a lot. If you're right on these kind of things, I just don't happen to think that who me is in the right spot today, going to need a lot of other things to not go horses ways for whom to get the job done. That being said, you know, unless he runs much better today than he did in his first two starts, which let's face it, there's plenty of just the third start of his career. There's no reason that he can't continue to improve. All right, they have arrived at the starting gate. Once again, New York bred two year old maidens. 6 furlongs on the firm outer turf. What looks like a nice day at aqueduct, blue skies, low to mid 60s, a lot of wind, though. Even heard it there from Chris Griffin, very windy today down in the Philadelphia area. Very windy today up in Jamaica queens as they run at the big a, loading in for this race good mix of first time starters and horses who have run previously in fact, I think we have four out of ten in here making their career debuts talked a lot about eyewitness. Mike micelle has the one kid emerald Bill Mott has the 7 doctor settles dream and also in here John pregnant junior has number 5 B of courage. Last few runners loading in. Here is number 6 king of comedy going to the middle of the gate for the team of Mike maker and Kendrick Carmouche. Chasing you toward the outside will complete the line. Let's send it up to aqueduct for race number 6. We are ready for the start. Of race 6. And there are a bit of a slow start for number one kid emerald, and he trails. Fire king, away, well, along with a doctor settles dream and now moving up is I witness. I witness doctor settle's dream. They are heads apart fire king now back running in third, B of covers down at the rail in fourth, far outside. It's chasing you next in 5th, then it's who me and sex and right alongside. It's all coming together in 7th. Blue soldier runs in 8th position and on the outside is king of a comedy. And a farther back is kid emerald. The quarter 22 and three, eyewitness by a half length, doctor settles dream on the outside in second. Followed by be of coverage who was on the down at the rail, fire king, far outside. It is chasing you, the field is in the stretch now. It is doctor settles dream on the outside and eyewitness on the inside, the two of them are together, fire king is in third, be of courage looking for a way through down towards the rail, then it's all coming together. They are coming on for the finish here. It's doctor settles dream who has a narrow lead eyewitness is there and be of courage and it's a three way photo. Three way Friday. Photo finish. Wow, really tight finish there in the 6th race at aqueduct good raised three way driving finish in the 6th will get you more as we becomes clear. They're showing a replay of the stretch run right now. Number four eyewitness who broke a little bit flat footed, rushed through to take over the lead with number 7 doctor settles dream another first time starter Bill Mott training. This one, these two duking it out down the stretch. Meanwhile, number 5, B of courage, the third first time starter, driving Adam at a gigantic price, I think it was 7 5 four with Bill Mott, doctor settles dream at 12 to one just barely holding off John pregnancy of courage who was 71 70 to one on the board. Hold all tickets. If you were somebody that still has tickets, a photo there between three first time starters, numbers four, 5 and 7. All right, we're going to take a break. When we come back, we owe you prices for the 9th and final at Gulfstream. We'll get you the results in a little bit for this 6th race at the big a but we're going to be joined next by max Meyer. "Bringing you live action from around the country will have racing from both aqueduct and Gulfstream park. In fact, let's get out to Gulfstream park now. They're going into the gate right now for the 8th race on the card optional claiming allowance event for Florida bread Philly's the mayor's poem is the big favorite and Pete I yellow has the call. And they're off. A quick and clean beginning for Po Emma from down toward the inside and she's going to establish control early from the center let's be honest is the gray and on her outside it's our fantasy. White on the chorus and rain, not wider than cake or who's taken in hand moving up on her inside and beyond magic. The trailer is the late running more glory as now there are three in line as they exit the shoot. Let's be honest from between poem a dad at the rail and out wide on the course in our fantasy. These three carved a quarter in a very reasonable 24 and two. They've opened two and a half on rain who sits in fourth, followed 5th by beyond magic next at the rail and Keiko and far back to more glory. They make their way four and a half furlongs from the finish and now Perez lets out a notch on poi Emma. She stretches to a length and a half lead. Let's be honest is there second. They put on some speed mid race as let's be honest, finds herself third, but about 5 lengths behind. Down at the rail goes rain, too better than beyond magic, then Keiko, and more glory is last. Poem is going to try to win it right now as she went 46 and four for the half mile and she strides through a three length lead. Our fantasy morelo is trying to stay in range of the leader while 5 ahead of rain. Let's be honest it's called it an afternoon underway from the back is Keiko wide on the course and beyond magic. Three quarters, one ten and four. Poem a off the turn now 5 lengths to the good. Our fantasy not making any ground from third it's Keiko from fourth and beyond magic with an 8th of a mile remaining poem is still finding plenty. Our fantasy has tried hard and we'll try to cling to the place when she looks like she will, but at odds on Po Emma with an ease victory. She won by 5. Our fantasy second Keiko third, fourth beyond magic, then more glory for the high 5. One 36 and three. Unofficially two 7th 6 three. That's two 7 6 three in the 8th race at Gulfstream park poem. Heavily favored at one to two takes the lead as she normally does right off the bat and goes wire to wire this afternoon for the team of Edgar Perez and trainer Larry Bates will get to those prices once they go official poem a coming off a nice second place finish it as the 6th of or rather even money favorite at this level last time out stretching back out to the one turn mile today last time out she ran a mile was clearly the best race of her career. It certainly proves that she has no problem with that extra distance stretching out and getting the job done this afternoon. Once again, welcome to another edition of betting with Bobby presented by Caesar's race book. I'm Bobby Newman here with you from four to 6 p.m. Eastern Time today and every Friday afternoon. We will get you those prices in a few minutes, but we want to get over to aqueduct for the first of our live races from there this afternoon. By the way, at Gulfstream park, 90°, partly cloudy, humid, summer afternoon, or I should say early fall afternoon. Now, in South Florida. At aqueduct completely opposite, 64° in sunny, very windy today, wins in excess of 20 miles an hour in Jamaica queens, main track fast and the turf course firm, and this upcoming 5th race begins the 50 cent late pick 5. What we have here are made in Phillies and mayors going the one turn mile on the main track at aqueduct, scratch number 8 pout would have been one of the longer shots in the field. We have a field of 8 going to post. Interesting field here. Number three tizzy in the sky has been second in both of her career starts. Her debut was for trainer ray handel. She moved over to the Jose barn for her second start, which was up at Saratoga, and she was beaten as the four to 5 favorite that day after really not getting out of the gate very well at all. Now stretching out to a mile. She's by sky kingdom out of a tis now mayor. It sounds like she should be better longer than short and Joel Rosario, who has been aboard for both of her career starts retains them out on this Jose trainee she's your 8 to 5 favorite.

"That he was not that hater was not able to course correct entirely and sort of get that balance back between the delivery and how much he was pronating his wrist or not is interesting and I know that he also like it sounds like everything is fine now despite maybe some bad reporting from MLB network, but I know that like his wife had a difficult pregnancy and so like there's a lot of stuff that might have been going on there but it's interesting that they haven't been able to dial it in again and I don't know if San Diego is like the team to help him do that. Because they historically have a mechanical issue like compensating for something. And our dinged up in some way that we don't know about and maybe he's not even aware of it. It's not a cute, but it's just a minor discomfort and so he is almost unconsciously changed his army that can happen or it could not be that it could just be bad habits or something but yeah and I don't know because I think that change to some degree started while he was still pitching well so it could also have other factors are playing a part here but it hasn't looked great. That's not what good lately he's been pretty wild and he's always like gotten hit surprisingly hard when through pitches in the zone. Right. It's just weird, but yeah, it's just that sometimes he would do things in your how does anyone ever make contact against you at all hard or not? Exactly. Yeah. There are a lot of teams like if the Padres and the brewers I guess they probably like can't both make the playoffs now it seems unlikely. I mean, I guess if they both overtook the Phillies or something like that could happen. And you know, the Phillies just lost 13 to 7 to the Diamondbacks who as we have established not yet a good baseball team, so who knows? Yes. Or if the brewers somehow overtook the Cardinals, I guess that could happen. It seems super likely, but no, but if those teams were in the playoffs, plus the Mariners plus the rays, plus the guardians, like that'd be a pretty fun field. You'd have half the teams either not having won a World Series ever or having the longest title drought of anyone, like that'd be a lot of interesting storylines. Probably like the Dodgers would win anyway, but still shut up. A lot of fun. Outcomes for neutral observers to root for. And I guess even if only one of the Padres or brewers makes it there will still be some fun ones, so that's something to look forward to. So Milwaukee is at the moment a game and a half back of San Diego as we record on Tuesday afternoon before other action has really gotten underway here. There's also not a lot of baseball yesterday. I would like to register a complaint. More baseball, please. So there are game and a half back and you know, it's possible that Philly, really falls off, although they're getting all of their hurt guys back now, you know? Although I guess Castellanos just went on the injured list with turf down, right? He's got turf toe. Seems like it would be one of those really annoying injuries, right? In addition to being painful, I mean, it's probably less painful for a baseball player than like a football player where you're like, allow me to balance 250 pounds of person on this for a minute. So when offensive lineman get turf toe, I'm like, wow, you're a hero. You should be carried around. Two 50, barely tipping the scores. I mean, that would be. Yeah, that's like a teenage little teeny tiny. It's so teeny tiny. Because he is a Seattle guy. I will just probably always have a soft spot for Corbin Carol, but he is one of those guys where you see him next to other big leaguers and you're like, you're teeny tiny. Which is ridiculous, 'cause when you see him in person, you can see his muscles through his shirt, so what am I even talking about? But he's not very tall, you know, he's athletic, but he's not super tough. Right. Yeah, we're getting a little flurry of collapse. What we talked about last time with the CPA incentives and all of that. But we're seeing a bunch of those, although Kate cavalli comes up, makes his debut and then I got because on the IL with shoulder inflammation. Not fun. It's like the morrowinds max Meyer earlier this year except hopefully not as serious, but sort of the same thing. Yeah. Just coming up and immediately getting hurt. It's not the best. What do you make of that records that Albert Pujols just set with his 694th Homer where he also hit that Homer off of Ross detwiler, who was the 450th different pitcher whom he has homered off of, which set the all time record broke Barry Bonds record for the most different pitchers homered off of, is that something you're interested in? I don't know what to make of that as a as a record. I mean, I guess like as a piece of trivia, it is, it is a piece of trivia. Sometimes they're comparing them to guys who played a hundred years ago, and I was like, right, there were like three pictures. Yeah. Yeah, I don't think I like it, because first of all it says anything, really. Right. Does it tell you much that the fact that he's hit 694 homers doesn't already tell you about? Obviously he would have hit homers off of a lot of different pitchers. So, I mean, I guess it's semi illuminating that he has hit homers off of more pitchers than the few guys who have hit more homers than he did, but if anything, I guess maybe it just tells you about the difference in pitcher usage now even relative to most advances career in that you just have more pictures going shorter amounts of time and you're seeing pictures for like multiple times in a game, far west often, so like the degree of difficulty, I guess, is higher now than it was at any earlier era not just because the players are better in throwing harder and all of that, but just because of the lack of familiarity and you're just seeing so many different pictures constantly you don't get long looks at these guys. So in that sense, I guess it maybe tells you a little something about the era, but also like you hit 694 homers, so like if you were drawing up a list of candidates for, well, who would have homered off of the most pitchers ever? Howard pools would be close to the top of your list just because he's close to the top of the all time home run leader part, so I don't know. I mean, I guess it's worth like a tweet. So maybe that's all it is. Yeah, to be clear, at times wish that the bar were higher for what constitutes good enough to tweet. But we will acknowledge that it is in fact quite low. Yeah, and I think it definitely clears that part. It's like, I'm not sad that someone calculated this and put this out into the world. No qualifiers or anything. It's not like some terribly tortured stat. It's a little underwhelming. I mean, I guess like if you want him to pass bonds and something and he's not going to hit more homers than bonds did. This is something he hit more homers off a different pitchers than Barry Bonds did, and maybe it tells you a little something about just even Pujols as error relative to bonds era, but I don't feel like it's terribly enlightening, really. No, I don't think it tells it's one of those fun facts where you think about it. You hear it, and then you go, hey, wait a minute. Does that actually tell me anything? Am I like, have I learned a thing here? Like actually, I don't know that we I don't think we have. Yeah. Just a couple other things. So Ben Clemens wrote about something John smoltz said on a broadcast. So John smoltz and I'll just quote here from Ben's piece, maybe I can find the audio clip of smoltz, but this was something that happened in Saturday's braves cardinals game and the braves scored for and then leading off the bottom of the fourth the same inning tower O'Neill, who has actually been hitting lately, walked on four straight pitches against Charlie Morton and then there was a two run Homer and that runs scored.

"It would be appropriate if they both wrapped up at the same time. Yeah, hopefully a few years away still, but if they both racked up at the same time and went into the Hall of Fame together, that'd be kind of cool. I guess shares are also has like kind of, I don't know if it was precedent setting or mold breaking, but his contract is notable too, right? Going for the short term deal, which he would at his age, but getting the extremely high average annual value that he got from the medicine. Also, Scherzer kind of a big wig in the Players Association too, right? So he was involved in the CBA talks and everything. So I guess you could give him a little extra there for being involved in that way. Yeah. Well, there's no loser here, no clear winner, either, but it is striking, I think, just how similar their careers have been in both superlative. So enjoy them while they're still here and while they're still pitching at this level. Because you just never know, which is something that I thought of this week when max Meyer had Tommy John surgery. After his second outing, which I don't know what the most deflating time to have Tommy John surgery is there's no good time. But so many pictures have it. I mean, in the draft this year, so many of the top pitchers who were selected were having it or had already had it, it's just almost routine at this point, but to have it at that point when you were one of the best pitching prospects in baseball, you were called up. You make your major league debut. You have a first start that goes so, so, but whatever you're there, you're in the big leagues. And then your second start, you have to leave with an elbow out sheet and it turns out to be Tommy John. That sucks. I mean, maybe it sucks less than like having it before you get there. Like if he had had it in triple-A or something and you never know if he's going to come back and be the same pitcher, at least he made it, but just know it's like, yes, my career is just beginning. I have made it. My dream has come true and we're all excited to see max Meyer and then he's gone now for who knows how long. It's especially rough because it happened to seeks to too, right? Yeah, right? I mean, we're going to Marlins. Shoulder wise, right? Yeah. TJ, specifically, then catastrophic injury. Yeah. I guess the good if you want to find a silver lining out of the timing, like him going down wall on the big league roster means that he's on the big league IL and so we'll make big league money. And that part. And so that part I bet he stoked on. Yeah? Yes, this perhaps meaningfully alters his career trajectory, but at least in terms of how the next while unfolds, I think his material comfort will be meaningfully better than it would have been if he had blown out and triple a. But yeah, it definitely sucks. I don't know where if we made then rank the worst times to get an injury, I don't know where exactly it would fall in the top ten, but I think it would run on the last day. It would, I think that and the Alex Reyes one where he has like what the first day of spring training. Yeah, I think that's right. He's going to make his full season debut. That'd be up there. There's no good time, but there's no good time, but there are worse times. The type of prospect goes down when he's about to deliver on the hype, or maybe about it. It's definitely the worst feeling one. Yeah, that part definitely sucks. That sounds like a much less fun serious than the trade value rankings. So I should talk about those and trades in general because, hey, we've got a trade deadline coming up next week. Tuesday, August 2nd. Yeah. So let's talk, I guess what has happened thus far, which is very little. Joshi and wrote a piece this weekend is newsletter about how this has been a very slow lead up to the trade deadline relative to recent years and I think he wrote that mostly before the Benin tende trade, but that is still the biggest, most notable deal that has happened thus far, so there hasn't been a huge one. There haven't been many trades and all of this, I guess, is sort of a referendum on, well, we've got this expanded playoff format, and we all debated what this would mean for teams trying to get better. And so is this a reflection on that format, or is it not, or will we see a flurry of major moves being made? So of the things that have happened yet at just maybe briefly, we could talk about Ben and Tandy, who is not one of the top 50 most valuable trade chips according to Ben Clemens's ranking, not even an honorable mention, and that was reflected in the fact that the Yankees got him for three pitching prospects who were not among their best pitching prospects and are not even among the royals top prospects, although in their case, I think a lot of people sort of offered condolences to pitching prospects who went from Yankees organization to the royal source organization given that organization's recent track record when it comes to pitcher development. They all had really interesting names so that something Beck way. Back way. TJ sycamore. And Chandler, champlain. That's two CHs with different pronunciations. Yeah. Sounds like a senator from a southern state in a non or something. I assume I have not heard this pronounced who knows, maybe he goes by champlain, gender champlain. He's a champ. Could be shadow. Champlain. Who knows? Oh, see now I'm going to get it wrong for the rest of his career. Sorry. This is like when I goofed up, this is when I goofed up bauman around Mitch hangover and it took him like two seasons to recover. How did you say it? Hannah ger maybe? I think I may be said Hannah, 'cause I was unaware of how wrong I was and then bauman was like, is that have I been, I don't know what's going on? So I guess the interesting takeaways from this trade are that a not being vaccinated apparently not an impediment to a trade to a contender. There's been various reporting suggesting that get vax, but he came out and said he still has the same stance that he hasn't made a decision yet, so I don't know if they're waiting a while, like if he's waiting to make it less obvious that, oh yeah, I wasn't going to get back for the royals, but now that I'm with a good team, the techs are going to go to the playoffs and could potentially play the Blue Jays and meaningful games. Now I will, I don't know, maybe like there's peer pressure because that entire Clubhouse is vaccinated as opposed to the royals Clubhouse where a significant portion of it was not and is not. Anyway, that apparently wasn't a deal breaker because that deal got done. I guess the Yankees only have like what one series left in Toronto I think for the rest of the season and that's right. Probably that will not have division implications unless the Yankees keep slumping in the pooches keep straight kid who knows incredible comeback, but Yankees maybe also, you know, obviously they could play trying to in the playoffs, but or maybe less likely, just based on the seating and everything to have

"They're just so many teams that are kind of on the cusp of something. And I think that Marlins are one of them. We talked about the tigers and the Mariners on an episode last week and how it seems like they're poised to quote unquote turn the corner and maybe invest more heavily in their roster. And the marwin seem like they should be in sort of a similar situation. Maybe they're a bit behind and they're the Marlins, so I don't think anyone's expecting them to make a big splash the way that the tigers and the Mariners might. But you'd think that they are sort of set up for it because they have the pitching and Alcantara is a big part of that. So you have Alcantara you have Rogers, you have papa Lopez, you have eliezer Hernandez. You have Jesus or do you have 6 dose Sanchez presumably returning you have the top prospects, max Meyer, Edward Cabrera, there are other maybe more mid rotation back of the rotation homegrown arms that are around there. So they are just lousy with starting pitching and most of it young and homegrown and cost controlled for now. But just not a lot of offense to go with it and I'll counteract knows that from experience. He had one of the lowest levels of run support of any regular starter last year. He got 3.1 runs per game in that was partly bad luck, but also just partly a reflection of the Marvin's offense, which was one of the worst in baseball and has been bad really for a few years now. And I guess there might be some help on the way, but not enough internally that you feel like, oh, they can mix and match and put together a good core position players out of that. It seems like they're going to have to either spend or trade from that surplus of pitching. And they just don't have a lot of track record of doing the former. So that means either kimming has to be busy on the trade market or maybe the brochure Sherman Derek Peter ownership group actually has to spend some money for once. But they're kind of in the next year or two. It's going to be put up or shut up time for them. Yeah, I mean, I think that now is the time for them to trade for that surplus if they're going to, but I think you're right that they will have to they will either have to trade or spend their way to something. They have two players guaranteed salaries next year. I mean, like they have a bunch of players who will go through arbitration, so it's not like they don't have any players on their team, but it's like Miguel Rojas and Anthony bass and that is all. So there's certainly room to spend here, even if not extravagantly to improve the team. But yeah, I imagine that they will look to some of their surplus. I mean, it's a tricky thing because on the one hand, it's an obvious point of team strength and they won't be able to roster all of these guys. But on the other hand, you sit there and you're like, hey, so you have one of the few envy of the deep pitching situations in baseball. Yeah. What if you kept some of those guys because you will always need more depth than you think you will and just spend a little bit of money. Now I imagine that they will do some combination of that. And I wouldn't be surprised if they looked around and sort of brought in some guys in the middle tier of free agency expecting that their real sort of open window will be the year after when that scant group of position player prospects does come up, but yeah, it's a very weird team. I mean, it's a cool team. I like, I like some parts of this weird team, but yeah, it seems like there is definitely some work to do there. Yeah, I don't know if it'll be 2022 or 2023, even for all the teams that we just talked about even the tigers and the Mariners are not certain to succeed as soon as next season. If you have everything break right, I think it could happen, but maybe there's some more consolidation and supplementation that has to go on there to add to the current course. But a lot of teams kind of in that interesting approaching make or break time when they will either ascend or not and so we will see which way they go. And speaking of, I guess another one of those teams that is trying to ascend and just has failure to launch every year. The angels we talked about, the cinder guard signing from the angel's perspective, we didn't talk about it so much from the Met's perspective losing him. We talk about the mets enough as it is. These days. But Sundar spoke a little bit after our initial discussion about why he left the Met and signed with the angels and the upshot seems to be that he just didn't hear from the Met much. Maybe they were busy with other things, maybe they were trying to hire a baseball operations president or ultimately GM, but he said that he didn't hear from them much in the two months from the end of the season until he signed with the angels. Obviously he got the qualifying offer. But he's someone who seemingly had wanted the qualifying offer and had talked about how tough it would be for him to leave the mets and then evidently they kind of ghosted him or at least didn't make him feel very wanted. And the age old did and perriman aci and had a long dinner with him and said some things that cinder guard was happy to hear. But one quote, this is an important year for me. This is kind of a make or break time for me. I didn't want to gamble on that kind of uncertainty that's been going on with them. It then being the mets. So imagine like what level of dysfunction you have to reach for a pitcher to say, I don't want to get pulled on the mets. I'm going to sign with the angels. Yeah, because that's where pitchers want to go when they want to stay healthy and have a great year heading into maybe getting a long term deal. You want to go to the angels, not the mets. That's how far they've fallen. Yeah. It's just, look, I don't want to make it sound like running a baseball ops organization is easy. I am given to understand that it is very, very difficult, in fact. But it does seem like one of the benefits that you are granted as a team who extends qualifying offers to guys who are your guys until they say no, thank you, or do you not want that.

"Record in baseball top ten farm system looks like the giants are going to be here to stay for the extended future. The detroit tigers are at number seven. They're down from number two so this class was dominated by arms. Well not anymore. Because even with the graduation of casey mice. Tariq's kubo and matt manning. They're still number seven now. It is offensive heavy spencer torkelsson riley green jackson job. All of these guys in the top one hundred also you got twenty twenty one pick tie mad and who now leads the pitching group so detroit. They're getting better. They're improving their flirting with five hundred with a number seven recruiting class or farm system recruiting class farm system. It's certainly looking good there in detroit number six the tampa bay race. They were at number one in both rankings for twenty twenty as well as the preseason here in twenty twenty one but they've fallen off for all the right reasons wander. Franko has graduated. Louise patino shane. Mcclanahan have graduated from the preseason top. One hundred and wander franko was a preseason number one overall so that'll take some shine off of tampa pipeline but still one of the deepest systems in all of baseball. Shame by as number twenty fidel brouhaha. Twenty two your edwards. Seventy six josh. Slow seventy nine. Greg jones ninety one so still very very deep leading the american league east and they turn things over and again. The future still looks bright there in tampa bay a number five. You got the kansas city royals. They were number ten in the preseason rankings. Well they got a legitimate star in. Bobby witt junior. The number three overall prospect. The shortstop is only solidified is standing by showing power at double a and triple a. You got daniel lynch at fifty nine nick pado at seventy one. Ace alesi seventy two. Mg melendez seventy-three jackson crow war at number ninety two so the pitching i it's been a bit stagnated at the minor league level but it still remains promising. They got a couple of top ten picks there so it's a very well rounded in deep group and it looks much better than it did. Come the preseason rankings. Now a number four the pittsburgh pirates are up from number eight not only did the pirates at a top one hundred player in adding henry davis number one overall in this year's draft. He is now the twenty third ranked overall prospects. They also added three exciting highschool talents to very deep system by trade deadline deals so they may deals. They added guys quin price tier number fifty three o.'neil cruise fifty seven. Nick zala sixty eight layover pajaro number ninety three so the pirates drafting well adding talented trades and the future looks brighter than it has in pittsburgh certainly in quite some time the miami marlins at number three they were number four in the preseason ranking so they were one of the worst farm systems in twenty seven team to now having one of the best they stocked up on pitching in the twenty twenty draft with max. Meyer fourth-rounder jake editor. They bolstered position prospects by signing cuban shortstop unique cafe in january they drafted khalil watson at the top of the draft is now the twenty eighth overall prospect catcher. Joe mack as well and guys they have in the top one hundred watson at twenty eight edward cabrera thirty max. Meyer at thirty one sixto sanchez. Still on the list since he hasn't been able to pitch this year at forty five. Jj day seventy-seven jack eater number eighty two. So this is a deep system in miami and things are certainly look it up for that. Now they're not gonna make the playoffs like they snuck up on people last year but still very very good organization. They're down. In miami number two the seattle mariners they are up from number three in the preseason ranking so even though jared kalinic graduated logan gilbert graduated taylor trammell have graduated. They're still four prospects in the top one hundred and all four of them are in the top thirty six. Julio rodriguez number two overall novelli martin short stop number eleven jour-jour corby number thirty five emerson. Hancock number thirty six and it wouldn't surprise at first. Rounder harry ford. Twenty twenty one eventually gets into the top one hundred as well so seattle things are looking good. I think next year's the year for seattle this year. They're figuring things out. A lot of these kids are going to improve. And i think next year they get over the hump and really become a contender and then number one. You've got the baltimore orioles. Yes that same baltimore orioles team. We talked about being forty games under five hundred. They now have the best farm system in baseball. They have the best overall prospect in Adly rudman catcher at number one grayson rodriguez right hander at number eight so two top ten overall prospects. Dl hall number seventy eight under henderson and number eighty and colton kawser and number eighty three so they got other prospects like henderson and westberg taken steps forward new members of their top ten within the organization so baltimore again looking at their window. They're going to add another number. One overall. pick this year and things are looking good in baltimore here but again it's gonna take two three four years until all these guys get to the show and certainly make a difference but at least they have the talent to possibly look at the future and say things are getting brighter. So but that's it when it comes to the rankings but before ahead out today i'd be remiss if i didn't talk about miguel knows home. Homerun wednesday night at fenway park. So no it a home run. Four hundred and ninety five feet. It was the longest home run in the manger in the major leagues. This year it went. Out of fenway park to center field slightly left center to the right of the light. Post out there and left center and it was the longest home. Run at fenway. Since that cast has been tracking before that it was only four sixty nine hit by hanley ramirez so this has been the best challenge to ted williams legendary blast.

casey mice matt manning spencer torkelsson riley green jackson Louise patino shane fidel brouhaha tampa bay Bobby witt daniel lynch nick pado baseball Ace alesi jackson crow detroit kubo neil cruise Nick zala detroit tigers Franko Tariq

"Or elliot's or hernandez who's twenty-six or thompson who is twenty seven so the whole team's average pitcher age of twenty seven point. Six is the lowest in the national league. And that's after trading zach gallon for gestures own rights right. They've just really been minting many pitchers lately and their non pitcher. Wrc plus is twenty first. This year and marta has been their best hitter. So they're really sorta lopsided to end. They need offense and so this might not be as the less time that they added pitcher and then move him elsewhere. There could be another zach gallon style. Trade is rare future where they try to even out a little bit. And that doesn't even count. Like max meyer. Who hasn't debuted for them yet. But who came into the season ranked i think twenty fifth overall for us on the preseason top one hundred and i should say i think i said he won't be in the rotation but you may garcia's reliever so it would make sense that he not being irritation try. I met staff so just gives people are like. Oh meg you moron nine shish so yeah they are. They are kind of lopsided and it does seem like in addition to acquiring pitchers and then helping to fix them as they did hear that they also view it as a strength from which to trade given the sort of depth that they have so it will be interesting to see what they choose to do their they. Turn you me garcia into brian delegates. Choose outfielder so it. It does seem like it is going to be both a reserve strengthen our reserve from which to trade but marlins making making some move some marlins and like what. What good is sterling. Martina them in this particular year. I would argue no good at all. I mean it is very nice to be able to see good hitting even on a bad baseball team but while the analyst may have some shakeups yet to be had it. I don't think that any of them involve the marlins who are currently ten games back moving all the way up into into i brace so. Yeah but as we've discussed multiple times the season not a bad team. You know bad record but not bad run differential and in fact they are back into positive territory have outscored their opponents by five runs entering wednesdays games that puts them ahead of the mets ahead the phillies ahead of the nationals in run differential but certainly not in the standing so they are still sort of as we speak on track for one of the worst records ever by a team with a positive front deferential and maybe trading martavis makes it less likely that they end up with a positive front differential the season but still they are less far away than one would suppose just based on the fact that they have a forty four fifty seven records and you're going to be well out of the playoffs they have underplayed their base record by nine wins which is more than any other team this season so it's not hard to imagine you know another trade in the next couple of days here or over the offseason to rob the the depth to shore up the weakness of offense and who knows heading into spring. It's possible that you might see the marlins at the very least as a sleeper. If not a strong wildcard contender. Yeah i think that while their farms assume is not as quite as highly regarded Because mostly i think he's a graduations at this point as it was going into last year like it's middle of the pack there still some reinforcements to be had there. We talked about meyer. And they're they just have so little they have so little money committed going on from now. There's so little money on the books for them that they don't have to spend big right with they don't have to necessarily blow it out in free agency. They could spend some and dramatically improve their team still have payroll. That's teeny tiny teeny tiny payroll. They should they should decide to be a good baseball team. And if that results a bigger payroll than okay find. But they're you know next year while anthony bass is do three million dollars ben. And then there's a seven million dollar mutual option for adam duvall which at some point do you think they're gonna stop doing mutual options which are not thing. They're like a useless thing. Weird useless thing. So there's that and then grow haas has investing option and in all of this assumes that none of these guys traded or what have you but like there's just very little money committed here. Everything beyond that is arben pre our guys so i think that they are like they were kind of a little interesting coming into this year. Just because of some of the young talent which was exciting to see and we you know we wanted to see what we were gonna get inches. Wallman like how that that was going to develop and adapt to the majors. And you know. They were the surprise playoff team last year and they have all this fun pitching. But i think that they're like legitimately a very interesting organization right now. And i don't know that i am going to end up. Pencilling them in for like a wildcard spot next year. Like you said. But i wouldn't be surprised if a couple of people do just given the strength of the the pitching staff and you know the capacity. They have to like at a couple people plus like i have to imagine whatever small advantage location gives to team when they are trying to sign free agents. I knew we give marlins fans suffer. Not going to games. And they've made the ballpark sterile where it used to be interesting. But i have to imagine being able to sit down across from a guy and be like. Do we wanna live miami. Carey's some amount of weight right. Don't you the miami. Sounds fun people to like. Miami might need a seawall soon but like pass. It currently stands like yeah. Let's check out miami. So i'm excited. I'm excited to be excited about the marlins put it that way. Yeah me too. Where won't need see. Well soon open for me to see well soon to so few nasa but yeah his asarco is another guy obviously was born in prove that he went to high school at the miami area in parkland so that's sort of a semi homecoming for him to and hopefully the marlins can keep him healthy. It's not just his video game injury this year. It's tommy john surgery and his past and shoulder strain. So there's sort of a an extensive checkered health record there. But hopefully the marlins can help him out and they just have so much pitching depth that yeah suddenly quite an interesting team coming has a lot with their. So it'd be fun to see what she does with it and it looks like they are as one would expect getting Hitter back from the astros for jimmy garcia aaa outfielder brian delacruz. Who's now so just before we go here at some point. Probably before our next podcast. It seems likely that max scherzer will be traded and just to lay a little groundwork for that just because it's an interesting situation and kind of complicated one that we can break down at greater length if and when that actually happens but it seems to me that the old cliche about how you can never have enough. Pitching applies even more than usual in two thousand twenty one when.

"With twenty six extra base hits twenty one steals it single-a so he's gone right into the single a level and done extremely well there for the padres as they remain deep in their farm system and number six she got the arizona diamondbacks shortstop jordan lawler. Who was this year's first round pick goes right to the top of the list is their top prospect also have outfielder corbin. Carol outfielder alex thomas outfielder christian robinson and shortstop giraldo perdomo as potential tier one level guy. So jordan lawler. Who's drawn. Comparisons to bobby witt junior again. All the way up to the top of the list but ryan nelson a chance to start the arizona system after going in the second round in two thousand nineteen. He's got two three four six. Era across tie in aa so the arms the bats arizona. Things may not be going well at the big league level but they certainly have a bright future ahead of and number five. The miami marlins man they are still loaded when you got khalil watson this year's first round pick at number five and your top overall prospects. You're doing something right now at the top of the list. You've got sixto sanchez. He's been hurt this entire year. He was almost rookie of the year. In twenty twenty so we all know the name but he still has prospect status nother pitcher max. Meyer another right hander. Edward cabrera throwing outfielder. Jj blade day and you got yourself a lot of top level talent. I mean max. Meyer was sent to aa to begin his pro career going number three in last year's draft. So he went right to double as got a one. Six seventy ra in fifty four innings. So it doesn't look like he's overwhelmed at all. You mix in watson you mix in sixto sanchez. And this is a nice group here in miami and number four at the toronto blue jays shortstop outfielder austin morton at the top of the list. Right hander nate pearson. We've heard that name. Shortstop gordon gras crush lines. Excuse me right in picture. Alex manoa is curve. Ball has been absolutely filthy since he's recently been called up and shortstop orvis martinez so a lot of high end guys yet or hoglund at nineteen. This year he was looking to be a top ten guy before he had. Tommy john otto lopez the twenty two year old hitting three forty four with twenty four extra-base hits at aa. He could see some time so the arms for the blue jays or come in. They got a salad offensive team. Already you mix in some of these up and comers and man toronto's in a fantastic spot to really take that next step here number three. I got the pittsburgh pirates. I like what they did. In this year's draft. Henry davis goes right to the top of the list. He's joined by rhianna pitcher. Quinn priests terp. Shortstop second baseman nickens. Alice so neil cruz. Shortstop another shortstop layover per gero so they are loaded up through the middle when it comes to the minor league system ron z. Contraire s was acquired. The deal at sint jameson talion to the yankees during the off season. He's a double a. And the twenty one year old has a two three five he. Ra so pittsburgh may be selling that big league level talent but they are certainly restocking the farm system and then again. I love what they did in this year's draft their strong up the middle catcher pitcher shortstop shortstops shortstop. So i think the future's bright and pittsburgh it's just a matter of time before these kids get here and if they finally contribute and get some help from ownership now the top two number two. I got the seattle mariners six tier one talent. Right outfielder jared kalinic. He had a cup of coffee. This year struggled a little bit. But i think ultimately he will be fine outfielder. Julio rodriguez not far behind him shortstop no vigo martin right hander. Emerson handcock a former top. Pick right hander george. Kirby catcher cow rally all tier one guys all potential all stars. Harry ford an uber. Athletic catcher was drafted at twelve. This year overall. You also got no v martin we spoke about. He's made the jump to full season ball. This year hitting two eighty six with thirteen doubles. Eleven home runs at single a. They're just they're loaded with talent out there in seattle for a team. That's over five hundred at the big league level. If these guys continue to progress and develop offensively add kalinic. Ed rodrigue guess at handcock to the rotation it's a solid time to be a mariners fan for the first time in a long time and then lastly the number one ranked farm system the tampa bay rays six here. One talent guys in their own wander franco recently made his big league debut at the top of the list as the best prospect. And all of balked vidal bruce. John infielder right handed pitcher. Shane baz second baseman shortstop. Executor edwards rhianna pitcher. Cole wilcox outfielder josh. Slow all of those guys. Mix in brendon mackay. The lefty i. I mean the list goes on and on for the race. It's only a matter of time before franco and brazilan are onto the mlb roster for good top picks carson williams at twenty eight cooper keeney at thirty far both have significant upside this year and then co wilcox's thriving and his pro debut after coming over from san diego in the blake snell blockbuster the hard-throwing right handers got a two zero three e. r. a. In fifty two to five strikeout-to-walk ratio in forty four innings at single as so tampa bay has the best farm system as well as competing in the american league east and they continue to draft and developed and it just goes to show. You always don't need a ton of money to be successful and major league baseball draft well developed well and you're going to be at the top of the standings year after year but that does it for segment number. Three here of the gsm see baseball. Podcast brought to you by the mc podcast network will step aside one last time for a word from one of our sponsors and one of.
