Guy Gobi off with our seven hundred fifty dollars and you know we have to make it up. I mean you just I just tried to make it work right and then I get jobs. I worked as a bartender. Then I got a job selling software and I had a deal where I was going to make this big commission so I can move out of the dock. We ought hotel on the show and I got to give a commission and I went to my boss and one of my jobs was to open the store. It was a software store. So I sweep the floor. Wipe down the windows and unlock the doors. And I went to my boss. I got to pick up his check. You know it's fifteen thousand dollars sale. I'm making fifteen hundred bucks and my boss does. No you need to open the store. I made the executive decision to go. Pick up the check thinking when I ended up to check it thank me he fired and so I got started. I had I had no money. I mean my friends are trying to convince me to go on unemployment. I'm like I can't do that. A bartender I And then I went to this company. I said if you advanced the money I've hundred bucks for me to buy the software for you. Install it I'll make it work if I don't I'll walk your dog. Wash your car. Whatever it takes to make up for. It doesn't work made it work. They sent me to another customer. Who sent me to another customer. You know a few months later I was moving out of the the the six guys three bedroom. Apartments only three roommates and then built up. "Don't know I guess I think maybe the find was was warranted. He did he doesn't hold back and I'll be honest. That is one of the reasons that I do. Love Him and then I do love that. He is such a well known and people just that personality people know that personality around the League. He has such a reputation and I know some people are fans. Some people aren't maybe one being Kendrick Perkins I I listen. I didn't voluntarily listen to him but I I heard him this morning saying something about Oh. He said he made a comment that said Oh. Somebody's got a mark Cuban. Somebody's got to put a muzzle on that dog. And I was like boy. Yea I don't I don't know that anything Kendrick Perkins says has any meaning but Yeah I just I think when it comes down to holding the owners as you said the people that are on the owner of the team they do absolutely have to be held to a higher standard. Yeah and I. I agree with the reasoning. I think the fine is. I don't know it seems a little excessive but maybe it's just to send a message I don't know so and I thought it was their last closing statement here. says officiating is one of the toughest jobs in sports while officials remain accountable for their on court performance. Maintaining competitive fairness blah blah blah Blah Blah and the remain accountable is the part that caught me. Cut my I because I was like how Howard here you had this whole thing. You admit that it's incorrect. We get the last two minutes report which is for transparency. I agree with that but I don't see how they're held accountable and again. I tweeted this before. I'm not saying I want their head on a silver platter anything but you know like what. What is the accountability thing? Do we have like a three strikes and you have to go back to training or something like that. It's like if you get a a a speeding ticket. You have to take defensive driving courses like I don't see the accountability unless it's just something that is behind the scenes. I don't know right and and Yeah I I'm Su has to be something behind the scenes because there are so many and I don't know if it's just this season and I know a lot of people said there's there has been a lot of problems in the officiating. Kinda area this whole season. And maybe it's just me feeling with the season starting off in that whole Portland. Dorothy Smith Review. Maybe that just left us. Our tastes mouth with this this season but I feel like every time I go to a game I see the same officials and I know that there are officials that know whether where they live and the geographic aspect of who can make. It's a certain games and stuff that all comes into play in. There are a lot of things that I don't know about but when it comes to holding people accountable I had just seen some horrible calls made and so while. Yeah they are judgment calls in. They're not always going to get them right. The accountability aspect of. Oh behind the scenes. How how how are you going to prevent this from happening again? Because it is a judgment call. But you can't let the same thing happened again and I I would be very interested to know what exactly they do. Mean by that accountability Scott Foster is a name that everyone everyone they they know the face but I and he is well respected and he's been around for forever but he's just one of those guys that sometimes. I'm like you've been around for forever. But what was that call so? I just wish more I guess is what it comes down to and I think there's a fine line between Understanding that they're human and not expecting perfection in. It's just like me and my job. I don't want my boss to jump down my throat. Every time I make a mistake and so I think there's like a balance between having that that fellow feeling for somebody that has a tough job but at the same time you know this is this is a job and there should be measures in place to make sure that they're doing the right thing and if they're missing it is just an honest mistake. How are we making sure that doesn't happen again? You know how are we? You know behind the scenes saying like okay. You know what? Why don't we send them back to training for a little bit? I? It's it's things like that. I think there's a balance but I think it's it's doable so Those are our thoughts. feel free to share your thoughts on twitter. I'm at underscore Sidney Meyers. I forgot to share your twitter earlier. It's at Elgin gun three in. Its four ends I. It's yeah when you look at it. You're like Oh God what am I looking at? I when I was trying to put my name in there. They're just like Oh that one's taken us so I just kept adding coach adding ins. Yes so let us know what you guys think about the protests. Let's move on. I wanted to a segment called. Hold your horses so basically I'm going to share a thought or an opinion and then let me know if you think it's crazy if I need to just stop hold my horses or if you're like you know what there might be something to that so first of all. I want to talk about Maxi's defense just in general but we just watched his defense against Williamson. He did amazing. There's talk that he might be kind of like the mavs version of Draymond Green. There's some merit to that or even crazier do you think he's better a better. Version of Draymond Green I do think there's merit to that. I think drew on his is a name that you don't even have says last name and everyone knows exactly who you're talking about. When you say. Maxine people around the league might not necessarily feel that way but when you look at their impact and kind of the way they play as far as Mexican guard several different positions. I mean he on the switches. He's very very capable of picking up a guard or playing post defense on someone. That's that's bigger than him. I mean Zion is is two hundred eighty five pounds and he and maxine had five blocks on him when we played New Orleans the other night so I absolutely think his defensive impact is similar to. I think his three point shooting ability is is definitely better than I don't think anyone could could disagree with that. But I think the impact that he I mean. Maxine Energy Guy. He comes in and he's he he gets these lobs from whether it's Jj Bray off the bench. Or or Luca. He gets the corner threes and gets the crowd rocking with his little Call me you know his thing. So I mean. In that regard heat. He is similar to drain on. I think I don't think that's too too crazy caught. Yeah you ties his defensive versatility and I think that is why people compare him to drain on because Draymond can really guard one through five depending on who the five is and who the one is but he has versatility and Maxi. Although I don't think you could put him on a guard full-time whereas with draymond again. Depending on who the player is you could have him guard on the perimeter of the whole game but maxie. He has ever civility to where he can do that like if he gets switched. It's not like Oh crap. This is a bucket or it's not like he gets lucky. I mean he is legitimately a good defender when he gets switched onto a guard. I want to share some of his defensive numbers so overall opponent field goal percentage drops almost three percents when he guards them which is thirty six in the league among players that have played at least fifty games there are three point percentage drops eight point three percent which is second in the League and then there are two point percentage drops again almost three percent. That's forty second in the league so I mean it's not just mass fan saying it like the number show that he is legit good defender anniversary defender to. Yeah I I love that he kinda with someone that no. No other team seemed to have their their eye on an yeah. There's that words Berg Germany connection but I mean talk about a diamond in the rough. Yeah he's he's been awesome So yeah I think I agree that there's some merit to him being kind of like the House version of Draymond Green. I don't think we need to pigeonhole him into that but I think that role is important and we have a guy that can fill that role. Okay next next. Next idea are the mavs. Do you think the mavs are getting better in the clutch or do you think that there is a crazy thought. Do you think they're staying the same? They just wanted overtime. Game against the PELICANS. Wow Man so right now. The mavs are nineteenth in the league in clutch when percentage and people have talked about that being an area of. Oh what's what's going on there. They just don't quite seem to have that figured out lately. I think Porzingis is becoming more confident and you can just see that with the way he attacks the rim so I think him becoming more confident in more comfortable playing net five physician. I think that is going to translate in those situations when we do need to go to Luca or porzingas guests. Obviously seth is on a crazy stretch. I mean thirty seven the other night like he's just he's going off right now so I think the win against New Orleans. I was glad to see them. Plot and overtime win Especially considering there's just a couple of injuries and a lot of ads have had to adapt to so it was nice to see that that That overtime win. I think the loss to Chicago was a little frustrating frustrating and then the San Antonio game we did win that but it it got a little too close for comfort for me so I think there's definitely still some improvement to do but I think we're certainly moving in the right direction in the in the last five games we've had where's it three. Clutch Games and were tenth in the League. So you can kinda see that that we are moving in the right direction. But I think there's there's a lot of work to do yet that's You talked about the The overtime win so before that they were oh in three in overtime games so they got their first overtime win. And that's such a good point about Mac. Singh is not maxine. He is good but he's not that good Chorusing is regaining that confidence and that's so crucial because obviously to win in the clutch. You have to have your stars step up. I mean those are the guys that win Clutch Games where you in so with Porzingis. Getting better that would translate to them being better in the clutch so I want to share a data estate with you. This is a very small sample size but if you take their net rating in the clutch in November they were twenty six in the league with a net rating of negative twenty eight point. Eight in their net rating in the clutch was negative in December January February but in March they are tenth in the League. Like you brought out with a positive net rating of thirty point four now in March. They only have two games with clutch situation so again. It's a really small sample size. But you know I mean even with a little bit of data that we have like so far. It's trending up and I think it's getting better is part of that right. I think I think the people that are watching consistently and you notice how the game and how the team how that closing lineup is starting to like you said they have that positive trend at and they're just playing a little bit better together so I think we are in the right direction and that will as the season gets further and further along. I mean you have to think there are a lot of new guys on this team. I mean we're over halfway through the season but this is their first season together so there are a lot of kings that are being worked out in. I think the more that they play together the more it will just continue to translate in a positive way. Yeah and then again. Get better that pausing skits and also you talked about health like obviously whenever porzingis in Luke our out there clutch net ratings. Could it be terrible so I think that's part of it too so I mean I I do think that so far? They're getting better in the clutch but again as early small sample size was see like. I think that it's going to continue. But we'll have to see okay next one. So the mavericks seemed to be unconcerned with the standings. And right now I believe they would. Face the clippers are odds are they would fall to where they meet. The clippers and the playoffs are the clippers. The best matchup for the mavs. Do you think that's why they don't care about the.

"My co host. Lauren Gun Lauren. Thanks for being on. Thank you so much. You're howdy. I'm super excited to to help with you I I. I'm just excited talks and stuff. There's definitely a lot of a lot of crazy things going on in the news. So I'm excited to To discuss those here. Yeah you know I forgot to tell you what we were talking. That you're actually the first guest host on the show so congratulations. That's that's an honor. That's it's cheaper but yeah I mean not. Obviously nobody can say that. So I'll wow I won't I won't send you a trophy. Sent you a picture of a trophy or something. So yes lauren is from the Blue Hardwood. Podcast you also do some writing for moneyball right. Yeah that's correct I. I'd have a piece coming out soon on Porzingis but yes. I do a little little work here in there for them. Okay awesome so today. We're going to talk about. Obviously the mavs failed protests. We just got word back that the NBA denied to the Mavericks request to replay. The last nine seconds other game with the Hawks. We're GONNA share our thoughts on that and why the NBA declined that request. And also why they find Cuban and they were going to get into some thoughts about the mavs as a Maxi played. Some amazing defense on science. We're going to talk about. Maxi's a resurgence as a defender. The mavs perhaps getting better in the clutch and then a look ahead to the playoffs. But let's start first with this failed protest first of all just. Were you surprised whenever you have? You heard that the the League denied the request where replay I to be honest. I wasn't all that surprise at the whole concept of replaying the final seconds of the game is something that I struggled to wrap my mind around. I just as crazy as that call was in in my opinion as wrong as it was in the quote and I I hear what they're saying but I still just like yeah I I don't agree but I just feel like for for them to replay a game. I mean it's got to be. Yeah the rockets protests that just made no sense but this is the final the final little end of the game and so I don't know I just. I don't see a replay of a game happening but I was surprised with the fine and and and I did. I also read the reasoning. But Yeah my initial. My initial response was okay. I mean Adam. Silver is not wanting to mess around with but then again they love to find mark. Cuban yeah I think that the mavs had a better chance on the rockets of winning because it was only the last nine seconds. It wasn't like it was a less whatever thirty minutes or something of the game. The rockets wanted so I think that works in their favor if they had convinced the league. That the rules had been misapplied And the League decided that the rules weren't misapplied so I'm GonNa read the reason from the League of why they denied it. So the call was about a goaltending. A whistle for a goal tend that turned out not to be a goal. Tend but the official said that when the whistle happens collins was in the process of putting back up doing a bag of the ball and so they counted the shot and the shot shouldn't have counted so the League said the whistle began to sound one fifteenth of a second before. Collins gained possession of the ball. So that tells me that the mouse were right. The whistle blow before he got the ball which would say that their protests was correct but the league said however it is well established by prior NBA protests decisions. They factual determination by game officials. That is shown in a post game review to be incorrect is not a misapplication of the playing rules. So basically they're saying it was a bad call not a misapplication of the rules. They're saying like yes that they blew it but they're saying that's not a misapplication of the rules they didn't break the rules and so just like you can't replay game for every bed call same here they can't replay this and yeah I like. That's confusing to me. Because I feel like like they're admitting that the mavs are right but then also that they're not right. It's it's kind of weird to me. I'm not I don't really. I'm not sure about that. And then okay. So then they go on so that was why they lost the protests. And then you mentioned the fine five hundred thousand dollars is a lot I mean. Do you remember the last huge fine that Cuban got? Which are you referring to? I think the last one I remember was when he said that the mavs better tanking he finds six hundred thousand dollars for that. Okay Yeah I was. I was referring to something else but related Ca. Yes no I know you're talking about okay. Yeah I mean the six I just mark. Cuban is such a personality when it comes to the owners and people are very aware of his net worth and how much money he has so I feel like maybe sometimes that does play a factor in how much they do find him. But I gosh the the the words in the verbiage that they use to describe why he was fine I just. I was very frustrated with that because going back to the reasoning as to why decline denied the protest. I was like just like you said will they kind of said that Dallas was right even though it wasn't misapplication of the rules so if in the moment the judgment call and everyone sees judgment call made by the rafts and they disagree it. Kind of goes back to that Damian Lillard situation when he he was livid after Rudy Gobert had that goal wasn't call and he laid into the refs and he was very public about it and he didn't receive any fine and so for mark. Cuban he while he is the owner. He's not the player I mean he is just as involved in so to see a judgment call. Made him believe it's wrong in everyone else be like what on earth just happened for him to say how he feels. I just it. It's all very mind boggling to me but the font yeah so tell me if you think this is crazy or not So they they admit that the refs made a very bad call but that that didn't qualify them to replay the last night seconds that being the case would qualify them to replay the last nine seconds and then therefore does this. Set A bad precedent. I mean let's say a REF intentionally made the wrong call in that just HAP- like we're okay with that. There's there's not going to be anything we can do about that. I mean is that is that like tin foil hat theory or do you see where I'm going with that. Yeah I do I think like when I initially said I I was. I was surprised that they didn't replay the nine. The final nights seconds. That's kind of the angle that I was thinking like. What would make them have to replay the yeah ten seconds of a game because there are so many other factors that come into play like. How does that go with the fans? Do you sell tickets for tense. Like how does that work? But if you can protest if you're able to protest to play the final nine seconds will then needs to be on the table. Because I feel like I I do feel like that. It was a valid protests in. They had a very good argument. And so in my opinion with with the way the protests go. It's almost as if that will never happen because I feel like that was as good of an argument as any so I just. I don't know I feel. I almost feel like it wasn't even considered so I really don't know that I could say what would have had to happen because I again. I read what the rules were and what they said and it was a one fifteen and all that but I just if if the whistle is blown and they're reviewing in the reviewing the goal ten and then you just decide that the bucket after the whistle was blown like. Oh my gosh none of it makes sense to me and in all honesty. I just I can talk about it and I'll talk in because I don't understand how that happened and how that was seen as okay. Yeah and I think what makes it confusing for me is that they said that the call was incorrect. And so I've heard like in listening to other pods. I think it was the athletics. Dallas Mass podcasts Edison minutes in heaven they did a really great breakdown of that whole play and their conclusion was that the call was actually correct and I was like from point of view I can see them losing the protest because the call was correct but here the NBA is saying that the call is incorrect. But not a misapplication of the playing rules. So it's like if that doesn't qualify for a replay then just like you said. Just take it off the board. Just say yeah. Don't even don't even bother protesting. That's not even a check box on the form you know. Just like like the last time a protest was one it was because they said that shack fouled out when he actually didn't and obviously that affects the Games. They replayed that that makes sense. I think it's black and white when it's something like this. That's a little gray. Just don't even let it be an option because now it's just confusing because I feel like you never GonNa win that protest. So why even let them do it unless I don't know maybe it's just to make them feel better but yeah I'm like you? I could talk in circles so okay going to the fine. Now you brought up Damian Lillard and and he had kind of the same situation he went off on the refs were on the officiating but he didn't find so here's what the NBA said. For why? Mark Cuban? Go find they said. It's a recognized part of sports for fans in the media at times to criticize officiating but team executives must be held to a higher standard and they talked about how it at a team owner could try to influence the game. And how that's not fair. He said demeaning league employee is also creates an intimidating workplace environment with an increased focus on respectful conduct by coaches players and fans during games the actions of team executives should set an example and not lower expectations for appropriate behavior in our arenas and I think that I do agree with that. That Your Damian. Lillard wasn't fine but maybe Mark Cuban owner they hold him to a higher level because he's supposed to set an example and I mean they're right. We've had problems with fans interacting with the players in an inappropriate way and they're trying to control the and so if they let Mark Cuban. Get Away with this. Then that's what is that saying to fans that get banned from arenas it's like how is that different so. I can kind of understand that so I I do think that whole disrespecting in demeaning the league employees when you know in some of those tweets he did mention a couple of names and the assets in your I. I do agree. He does need to be held to a higher standard. So in that regard I do I can understand. Appreciate that Gosh it's there are so many different aspects of the Damian Lillard situation kind of going at the rest was that clip of him after the game pointing at the REF and the player staff holding him back so that is a little different compared to to mark in even though he is always on the court. But I.
NBA fines Mavs owner Cuban $500K after latest rant
"Cuban Dallas Mavericks owner mark Cuban twenty guys asking about the brings up has been fined five hundred callers were public criticism and detrimental conduct regarding NBA officiating the league office announced earlier today the NBA is also denied the Mavericks protest of their loss to the Atlanta Hawks on February twenty second well I didn't realize the maverick pro testing something with keep what is given take a page of the Daryl Morey handbook seems like he entered the NBA denied the maps protest of their loss to the hawks on February twenty second after which Cuban confronted the referees on the court and criticized them on Twitter while speaking to reporters the NBA said misstatement that Cuban's comments were quote highly critical personal and demeaning to the league and its officiating staff and that he continued to publicly criticize the officiating over the following days Adam silver has said quote Cuban should stick to being on shark tank and let the refs do their jobs he did not say that yeah that's what I was going to just do that clean that up mark Cuban was fined you wanna take a guess on how much
Satellite almost on empty gets new life after space docking
"An interesting idea. It's from a division of Northrop Grumman and what measures one is is. It's a satellite that has a grappler so we can grab other things in space and a lot of fuel and the idea of the program is you can extend the life of satellite that has run out of fuel and his either GonNa be parked or de orbited depending on where it is And and here's the challenge. Satellites are not made with gas caps. They're not generally built to be serviced by other satellites. That doesn't generally happen So you can see what's going on here. North Grim thinks that there is a market in building a satellite that is cheaper to launch and use to extend the life of an older satellite than it would be replaced. That satellite right. It's just it's simple economics here. What if we could make that satellite of yours? That's about to die last another five years. How what would that be worth to you? And if that number is lower than or higher than the price we would charge. Let's say or something like that. You do the math you know like. Oh that's better. Let's do that. So that's what that's what one did a demo with an eighteen year old satellite from. Its until nine one What Intelsat did is moved into a different orbit? So was up there. They actually moved. Until set up to the mid one orbit taking it out of service in doing so and meth one docked with Intelsat nine and one so came a few grabbed it with its grappling system. It's docking system and is now in the process of or over the next month or two is going to push Intelsat back into an operational orbit it will go back in operation and it will have five years more life this eighteen year old satellite with with a buddy satellite attached to it at the end of the five year period when it when Intel sat thinks it's reached the end of its operational. Life is then going to raise it up to a graveyard orbit like we talked about last time where where it's higher orbit above Geo Stationary Orbit. Where there's not a lot of stuff and it doesn't matter if there's dead stuff up there it's not a big deal so they're gonNA they're gonNA push up to a graveyard orbit So that's awesome five years extra life by adding a buddy satellite that can keep it operational and That's not all the plan then is after five years is one will grapple and can go somewhere else and do it again with a different saddling. Reasonable Buddy satellite right as long as it's got propellant and it can grapple stuff it can get to what it needs to grapple. It could do this so you have to is also coming later this year. They're going to use it for a different intelsat satellite and the goal. This time is because you know they wasted propel underuse propellant in taking it out of service and taking it somewhere else to try this the next one. They're going to do it in place. They're literally going to just drive over to wear that. Intelsat. Satellite is while it's operational and just grab it and then extend its life by having new propellant ability to move and even though because generally what seems to be happening. I mean if something breaks something breaks this is not something with like robot surgery to fix up circuit board or something. Although I think a future this stuff is that but in the short term. It's this satellite is cost us. Hundreds of millions of dollars is incredibly expensive electronics. And the only thing. We're missing is propellant. Well that's what the system is. Basically doing is like we will send up a thing full propellant and attach and move your satellite around for you. The great idea until sat says the economics work for them. Which if the economics and work for until SAT IN FOR NORTH OF GRUMMIN? This is really cool. Because you're extending the life of this stuff. It's almost like recycling in outer space. Like you're extending the life of this and you can see how this could get way more complicated down the road in terms of allowing tele presence cars of satellites there. You know the further out. They are the more of a delay. There is but when when you think back to the Hubble missions where they had to fix the Hubble Space Telescope over the course of decades say that was a user serviceable astronaut serviceable thing or I s space walks. You can see and you and I actually saw at least one of these at at Johnson Space Center the experimenting with a robot that can crawl around on the outside of the space station and do repairs. You could also see that. Same kind of thing. Po- possibility for one of these mission extension vehicle satellites to be able to potentially even do repairs. Come you know come by do a repair mission. And if that costs less than replacing the satellite. It's totally worth it. So it was very exciting. There's a lot of this being talked about. Nasa has a plan to do a spacecraft. That's GonNa Attach to an old land sat satellite in low-earth-orbit and and do a connection these. The mavs are built for geostationary orbit. I believe there's a Japanese company that we've mentioned on this before that wants to make like a sticky like web or arm satellite. That can actually just kind of like run into space junk and a ten. Yeah stick to it so that it's no longer space debris so there's a lot of this. We're entering a phase where one of the opportunities business opportunities in space is and from a different angle. You see it with spacex reusing. Its vehicles reusing. Its its first stage is that you make this incredibly expensive satellite and you leave it up there and it's got a lifespan. And then it dies. And it's like a disposable satellite and now there are companies coming along and saying what if we could take that disposable satellite and make it recyclable instead and extend its life and then move it out of the way. It's it you know it makes access to space cheaper right because it means that the stuff is serviceable and presumably over time. My mind started to raise as I was reading the story like presumably over time you would end up with things like perhaps some standard equipment like standard actual docking attachment. And things like that. Where it's like can we all agree? That the satellite's going to have this thing on it so that one of these buddies can come up later and refuel it maybe or or attached to it and move it around but there's so much that's already up there so is they figured it out. Like where do you grab on? How do you hold on? Is it GonNa work and it seems to work. It's awesome

"mavs" Discussed on Dallas Hoops Fancast - A Podcast for Dallas Mavericks Fans
"Your host Sydney and I'm here with my co host. Martin goes before we start. I do want to assure you that this is not a one minute episode. We are actually going to talk about the game. That the last one that hawks game we actually did like a thirty minute episode and then after a while we were like you know what. There's just nothing to say about this game. Hawks suck yeah it was like they suck and we won. That was in the mavs won in like there was really nothing to break down because the Hawks hawks sucks so much that none of that stuff not not that. It's never gonNA happen again but it's just we're spending more time about how what just the Pacers. Yes so the Mavericks beat the Pacers One. Twelve to one. Oh three. This was a good win. The Pacers are thirty one and eighteen thirty one and nineteen after the loss and thirty one. Yeah and I got to say like man. The all-star break needs to get here because I am tired and I'm not even even playing these games players dropping like flies. We lost tonight. Curry's out Luca obviously as out POW plus to wipe how I mean gene and then Porzingis at some point was limping. And it's like no no and the Internet that's injuries. I'm GONNA talk about like watching the Games and I don't know if it's because the super super bowl just happened but I feel like completely sports out right now but anyways This game was fun. I tweeted during the game. Like Games just aren't As exciting without Luca. Now he's such a showman it not not that he shows up why he's easy to read and Dan he show it's showtime every game but this game got interesting because we had some clutch time minutes and the Mavericks. Actually you did very well. Yeah I thought their defense was great. There is a sequence during clutch time when the rotations were just on point. I mean and you don't usually see that out of the mavs. Sometimes their rotations are late or just not there at all but this time it was like it was clean. They also played a lot of zone tonight and I don't know if that's just because their defense over the last two weeks have been probably the worst defense in the League league so I don't know if they're trying to mix it up a little bit or if that was a match up thing is a pacers don't really they don't play fast. They don't shoot a lot of threes so maybe he just thought Carlisle Carlisle thought that the zone was going to be best. It's hard to argue with it. They won and the Pacers only scored one hundred and three points. Yeah they were seven for thirty four on threes. I mean Ola depot. Oh himself was one for ten on three points. Yeah you know. The most threes made was Brogden. Who made two YUP? So they didn't they didn't kill him from the three point line which is probably probably a large part of why they won. Well the that's really. In my opinion that is why they won because the Pacers could get a two point basket. Ask it pretty easily and they were doing that throughout the game. The problem is the mavericks were getting threes and just kept making threes. On every time the Pacers I would make twos so the pacers could never really overcome the lead. Yeah the big story is Kris. Porzingis had thirty eight points whose rebounds owns one steal. He was two points shy of his career. High which is forty ten for twenty overall six for thirteen on threes made all twelve his free throws which is a good sign. CBS He had been struggling this year. Free throws so okay. Here's the story. Is this about the Luca. Yes no okay what bring it on me. Just let's talk about it Lucas out. And so there's two things that come up or the mavs won without Luca. They must be better without. We've got it it it's just you know that's not true so we don't have to talk about that but the other thing that I think is a valid discussion. That porzingas is better. Better without Luca and I don't think it's valid in a negative way like Oh poor lucas holding back or they don't fit well together. I don't think data happening. I think they do fit well together. They just haven't quite figured it out yet. So when Lucas on out there it's it's easier. It's just porzingis. Well you can see how much porzingas his sacrificing when Lucas out there because he's just not getting the same shots he doesn't get the same opportunities that he's been getting since Lucas. been out so you can see that. He's been sacrificing so all these people were talking about. KP sucks trade him and his whatever. He's he's just trying to do what's best for the team. Yeah but what you see when Lucas out is that Porzingis is a star He is and you can and see the potential that Luca and porzingas will eventually have if they get it working together. It's GONNA be unstoppable. One one two punch because has there so good offensively so Luca has to find a way to get porzingis involved his job to do that. PORZINGAS cannot create his own shot consistently he relies on others to make place for him. But he's so good at shooting and finishing off the play that you have to find a way to get him involved and I think that what you see in this game and what we saw in Houston is that and before these games. How many times have we see? Pausing set a screen and both defenders with the ball hinder Lee Porzingas wide open and they never passed back them whether that was Luca or any of the other bones game to a couple of times but they were looking for poisoning. And I think that's what's missing when Lucas out there. They're not looking for porzingus. Yeah Yeah I mean if you think about it. He took twenty shots tonight. Thirteen of them were three-pointers. So it's not like with Luca out day just dumped it down to him the post or he was dribble. pull up that kind of thing. I mean. He was still kind of doing a lot of what he does. Without Luca he just got more shots shots cities cities. More rhythm shots like. He's had games this year with Luca where he's gotten twenty shot attempts but he would be like seven for twenty or so force it and I think he forces his mindset is better. I think I don't know if he's thinking too much when Lucas out there when he gets a pass from Luca he feels like he has to make that shot. I don't know what's going on in his head. That's not the problem because that's twenty years old and twenty four years old. They're going to figure it out. What you see is the potential how they're going to be and I think sometimes too he gets tired of just standing there and so he'll get the ball and he's like screw it? I'm shooting this. I don't care what we're going to do and that's kind kind of one of the problems. I don't like with or one of the things I don't like with Carlisle's offense is at they've created this atmosphere that Porzingis is just four spacer spacer. And he's out there to create offense for the ball handlers and I think sometimes as a ball handler when he sets a screen. They're thinking shoot. I instead of makeup play. Yeah and there again to my point they missed porzingas so many times on open opportunities. Well they just didn't do that tonight and it's surprising that they would do that because he is open but I think what it is they must be expecting the defense to stay closer to him. It's surprising that he is that open. And so maybe they're just they're thinking that he's probably not because it's posing as probably the defenders staying there will and it shows the the threat of Porzingis and in a pick and roll with him. Yeah the defense is don't know what to do. And you saw with the the rockets they had to just they. I mean they didn't want to do yeah And even tonight and I think the game against the jazz. We lost that game but go bare. Although he had had a monster game he kinda struggled the mavericks were able to get consistent shots because of porzingas being stretched before. Yeah I think it's they don't really look look for him and it's surprising how open he is and maybe that's all it is But like tonight whenever they did go to him he started did really torching their defense and then they had to stay with him and then that opens things up even more so I think you have to go to him to keep the defense on his. It's like if you're not actually going to him and he's not shooting in making those shots he's not really stretching the floor as much as he could and once you go more through him than that really spreads a defense out a lot more. I think the only thing that really needs to change when Luca comes back is porzingis needs to play with the same type of aggression. This same type hype of freedom of just shooting the ball and not worry about everything else. Just stop thinking just play like you're playing tonight. You're going to get twenty shots. Even with Luca. Good being out there. Yeah just play with that same mentality and just play score play to win. Yeah I thought I had a good game and and I do think that I think right. Now it's not perfect I think Luka and Porzingas have things to figure out but it's their first season together we're not even all the way through their first. I season and they're both young players. They're figuring themselves out in addition to figuring out how to play together and I think also what you're seeing on on twitter order. I don't understand it. You know this. This thought that Luka is hurting the mavericks you know. It's it's all first of all I want to say. I haven't seen that by anyone that I'm following okay. I've so I I don't know if I'm following them. I've seen the see other people like reach via Steph and the only thing yeah I would say is Luca has set the bar so high for what he does that if he goes out there and puts twenty seven seven and seven. It's a bad night and it's we need to relax he. The Dude is amazing and you should not be concerned that the Mavericks Win Win Without Him. You should be really had. That's a good yes. Yeah and that's that's what I tweeted out is like winning with without a player is not the same as being better without that player. Winning without him is a good thing you know like if the Mavericks can win against the Pacers and the bucks without him and the Hawks to like like if you can win those games without him on the road that's a really good sign and I think when Lucan porzingas figured out the whole team when they figured out and and they just they've had so many injuries they've played so few moments together but when they figured out they are going to be a really dangerous team. Yeah and I don't know if that'll be this year. I think they'll get better just as time goes on. So that would include this year but the time when they're really clicking at the highest level they can dan they might not that might not be this year but yeah I think they'll figure it out and I think the whole lake being posing as being better without Luga. I think that's just because they're in the process of figuring figuring out agreed but yes so looking at their schedule coming up so they first of all the pacers was like probably one of the hardest hardest opponents. They'll face for the rest of the month after this IT'S MEMPHIS Washington Charlotte Utah at home so that might be kind of tough. The Utah has lost four in a rolling back down to Earth yet told you gonNA happen. SACRAMENTO ORLANDO ATLANTA MINNESOTA San Antonio Miami. That's in in Miami. So that when that'll be test Minnesota or that's that's in March. I mean even into Minnesota Chicago New Orleans Memphis will the mavericks. Rex played the tough part of their schedule. Now from that ten game stretch that we were all dreading when Luca twisted his ankle miss first time the first time all all the way up till this game they have had one of the if not the most difficult schedule with the amount of games the amount of travel travel and who they've I've been playing and it looks like they've bundled up all those tough games altogether now going forward. I think they have like out of the remaining thirty games. Only six or above five five hundred. I mean over this next month. Like taking schedules out of it. Because that could fluctuate between like some of these like at five hundred below five hundred entered but the games that we were like. Okay that one might be a tough game I would say Utah in Miami are probably tough is games. The Memphis game is going. It'll be tough. MEMPHIS has nothing to play for well and they've grown alike. They're much better than they were when I don't know if they're actually that much better or of teams just kind of sleep on him. They went eleven and four. This yes Montana. We'll we'll see. Hopefully they start coming back down but so you. You don't WanNa Overlook Memphis in our next X.. Game Yeah it's still going to be hard especially without Luca but they don't play defense so that you know that that will help the mavericks out a lot. So Luca was supposed to miss six games and that was back starting with Houston..

Mavs' fears confirmed with season-ending injury for Powell
"Mavs lost big man. Dwight Powell to the season-ending isn't ending Achilles injury last night this was hard to watch and trace. You could tell right away right. They confirmed it. Unfortunately this had the same durant. We're the rain all right. Because he was so Americans. They're looking for different types of players. They have trade assets because porzingis has been unreliable healthwise this year. They may not have to examine the market for a big man. This is a little bit. What we expected from porzingas right? P. nice little block okay see at least forcing is making his presence known on the defensive side and you can't really even you know put a number on how much the affect the office from a spacing standpoint so just having is it is a huge bonus let's also not forget that the clippers are without Paul George tonight but they've been without a add up like they be any better with them come on right he's told you whether or not no you're right they've been playing with Adam for a good chunk of the season I'll give you some numbers on koh Y. and of course of course they'd be better with him Paul George momentarily but I do want to head to Los Angeles not for the clippers for the Lakers what about the Lakers what are they doing well according to Yahoo sports and Chris Haynes who is one of the better NBA insiders that we have here in the media the Los Angeles Lakers and the Phil Philadelphia seventy Sixers as well as multiple teams with championship aspirations have expressed interest in trading for Derrick rose the point guard in Detroit with the pistons the clippers have checked in on rose but according to Haynes it was more of a an exploratory talk nothing crazy but the Lakers in six years all are in search of point guard assistance for the stretch run according to Chris Haynes scarecrows obviously formerly can be peace thirty one years old right now he garnered considerable interest that wasn't there when he was a free agent last summer but he's getting some interest right now he's been the pistons most consistent offense of weapon this season not saying much because they lack offense of weapons on don't do that there rose Andre Drummond spin good yeah that's true but his play is definitely thrust did him into consideration for the all star game which is also going to be in in the hometown of the air grows in Chicago next month so but again the pistons that have dealt with a tiny injuries it's been a bright spot their gross injuring last night he was averaging eighteen point six assists shooting fifty percent from the field and plan twenty six minutes again yeah he's been really good I think he also played last season as well and it's been interesting to see him kind of get some of that some a game back of course like your not never gonna lose it all he still has a lot of a lot of what made him and and be peer at a highly respected player in him and one of the biggest things specially for teams like the Sixers he's capable of getting his own shot in situations where you have the teams they can't get their own shot and we talked about it for the Lakers maybe not getting.
Jokic scores 33 to lead Nuggets past Mavericks 107-106
"The okay scored thirty three points to go to a game on a driving layup with seven point nine seconds left as the Denver Nuggets adds the Dallas Mavericks one oh seven one oh six I just want to be aggressive had taken this couple is most of the first half no just on one of the rest of the team which was passed me the ball and telling me to do so I was just trying to try to be aggressive in trying to score okay Jewish scored eighty points his last two games had twenty six of his game high thirty three in the second half is not gets overcame a late five point deficit Denver's defense limited the mavs at just seventeen points in the fourth quarter look at Dodgers led the man's with twenty seven points nine rebounds and ten assists Bob Stevens Dallas
NBA commissioner David Stern towered over the league he built
"Little it sure seems like mavs owner mark Cuban and former NBA commissioner David stern didn't like each other when Cuban would complain about the rafts or how the league did business he'd get a letter on Stearns and be a letter had another fine in total Cuban has been fined more than one point six million dollars by the league for thirteen incidents always matching those funds with a donation to charity most of those fines given out when stern was commissioner but we got deeper look into the relationship Wednesday after
Raptors stage franchise-best 30-point comeback
"In the NBA we got the raptors rally for the largest comeback of the decade Kyle Lowry thirty two in ten prisoners are scored a career high twenty one as the raptors overturned a thirty point deficit to beat the mavs one ten one oh seven on Khan Sunday it was the biggest comeback in franchise history and the NBA's largest come back in the decade Larry had one fewer point in the fourth quarter twenty then the Mavericks managed as an entire team in
Bucks’ 18-game winning streak ends with 120-116 loss to Mavs
"The box eighteen game winning streak came to an end as the Mavericks beat the box one twenty to one sixteen Kristaps porzingis himself curry each score twenty six for the mavs the two stepped up in the absence of the injured star guard look at dot church ports think it says they were not intimidated by the Bucks winning streak the confidence we have in ourselves so one of the best teams in the league right there play our game played hard and we will get the one the mavs led by sixteen of the first half the parts of it a few runs the trail by two at one point the third quarter the mascara ten point lead into the fourth Yanis on a couple have forty eight in the box lost their first since November eighth at Utah Chuck Freeman the walking
Mavs beat Lakers, 114-100
"Lakers went into Sunday's matchup with Dallas with a ten game win streak but the mavs have options sixty eight sixty optical beautiful by god Dodgers now with thirteen the map response with eight minutes remaining in the backs of all the trouble now against stepping back he the biggest twenty pristine one old three point three years been in Dallas mavs by fourteen over the Lakers one fourteen one hundred look a Dodgers twenty seven points nine rebounds ten assists sixteen points came in the third quarter he leads the NBA in third quarter scoring is averaging ten and a half points per game in the third quarter Mavericks to one of the Wayne Lakers I had a ten game win streak come to an end Lakers taking the loss on Sunday in ESPN's Dave McMenamin says it's now a winning mindset that will be kicking in

"There's only two game tonight. But still I don't know if you can get games, they're active after tonight. And now, they take them down. They might be up for tomorrow. But I don't know. But I'll give them to you today. Anyway, just in case, so. They'll be up on the website. That'd be up on the up on the Mike von at this evening. If you're looking for him. So let's see I have three overs. Three unders. I'm gonna take the. Raptors over fifty four and a half the Mavs over thirty four and a half. We'll tight on time can give you a whole lot explanations. And the box over forty six and a half. So those are my three overs raptors over fifty four and a half. Mavs over thirty four and a half and box over forty forty six and a half bucks, forty six and a half. My three unders are. Jazz on the forty eight and a half. The seventy Sixers under fifty four and a half. And my third on. There is. I'm gonna go just think if anything happens to him a move be tough. I'm going to go thunder under forty nine and a half. So again, overs raptors over fifty four and a half Mavs over thirty four and a half bucks over forty six and a half on the unders jazz under forty eight and a half Sixers under fifty four and a half and thunder under forty nine and a half be right back. Do.

"Just. It was same way felt when I stood in front of Mavs employs for the first time after this came out. You know, and I apologize to them. Dish? Never in my wildest dreams that I think that that this was happening right underneath me and I'd never the pain that people went through the pain that people shared with me as this happened, the tears that I saw. Just. In hurt and what do I feel? It's nothing compared to the way they felt. I mean, I. You know, I guess just my nature. I mean. Recognize that made a mistake, learn from it and then try to fix it. Was there a person who's talk to you or sat across from you or someone who you've read about that it stuck with you? This thing happened and this is what just keeps me up and it was just it was just look some people's faces when I was city. When I first met with Mavs employees after this happened and I didn't know like I didn't know how bad and after to Dima was, you know, and so I didn't know the degrees of everything, but I can just see it in everybody's face. You know, they. They can see the pain in their face, and these are people that I barely knew, you know, and. Which is Pat enough, but. It just torn apart. I mean, there's no other way to explain it. Sports Illustrated article comes out. As I mentioned at the top through the investigators found that through an intermediary you reached out to Dima assery and the message you had passed along to him. Don't worry. I won't throw you under the bus, but context matters. Right when it first happened. Like I said, I had no idea how bad it was, and I talked to two people who went to who I asked to go to church redeemers, former assistant, and I said, look on penny and everything that happens with the investigation. I don't wanna get in a in a PR, shouting match. Wasn't like we're trying to hide anything because I told investigators that I did it, I just didn't want her Dima to to to get into a PR back and forth. He can understand how that sentence doesn't sit well in I, I understand that completely. But again, that's why it's very forthright. When investigators I volunteered to him, wasn't about the masculine asking me. Employee's that I know that they talked to you about is Chris hide. He was a high ranking ticket sales official within the company. And again, I'm just going to read this, so I get it right regularly, pressing his co workers for sex. He would try to kiss them in one incident, he actually Licht a woman's face. He regularly viewed pornography to desk, but instead of firing him his superiors moved his desk to a different side of the office against a wall. So that just not that many people would see the pornography is he was showing it to other people in the office. You were notified about the pornography on his computer in two thousand eight..

"The so derek so much the winners are wo does the losers are and and i guess wagner is a winner i did really like the rockets picking up dnc melton in second round but i know that's not gonna move the needle for you but t anthony melted has been one of my favorite sleepers the draft and they just picked him so congrats daryl morey for being smart ago one of my least favorite moments from the draft show is when you completely brushed off houston's ability to go seven games with golden state and said that they never had scared the warriors that was you're not gonna go back down that road all right top of the draft let's talk about it let's discuss this fifteen minutes in we're into the first pick real draft so we can talk about the sons in a little bit i feel like the winner of the draft for me i really liked what the hawks did which side of that trade did you like more hawks hawks are mavs it's tricky i my first inclination is to say if you have the number five pick in the draft order and you come out with who i think is the best prospect overall godiva i feel like you're the winter yeah i also would couch that by saying i kind like the protections they put on the pick that they gave up to if it had been a little bit more lightly protected i think i would have been more nervous and been more hesitant but i think donald really checks what they need for the next era in dallas and i can understand atlanta's thinking too i don't think atlanta got screwed by any sense i mean to me it's sort of i mean i really think that at the time the boss philly deal was more of a win win when it happened and it looks now because full completely fell apart have predicted that but i kind of liked phillies thinking at the time i did too i and i like singing at the time so i think i can justify that trade from atlanta side and dallas aside i just think i'm much more klein to believe dodges going to be a high level allstar level player i'm a little bit more skeptical of trae and so that's why would i would say without yeah and you know what else the mavs can't be trusted to tank effectively again because recoil is just not wired that way and so it would have really hurt in a draft with three to four depending on how you feel about jaren jackson junior with three to four potential stars to come come in after a year of tanking and get nobody with that kind of side would have been really tough and the mavs avoided that and and trae young would not have been fit dallas because they're bought in on dennis smith junior and i think if you're if you're gonna kinda take a risk and like 'cause if if they do give up the pick next year let's say six or seven or eight like next year's draft is not super deep is really early but there's not a lot of guys on.

"All right i am i'm sticking with the cowboys i love the cowboys i still remember the super bowl twenty seven the first super bowl i saw them in hanging out with my friends and family we had all kinds of great snacks and then it hit me like i couldn't handle it if they lost and luckily they beat the bills by ten thousand points so i'm sticking with them i'm sticking with the texas rangers because man i love the rangers even when they played in their crappy blue ballpark were pretty much just had nothing but metal seats across i swear that whole thing was made of nothing but metal grandpa would pull out a sprite that tasted like dirty ice you know how dirty is not always be like still going to drink this sprite feel so good out here in these bleachers it was amazing i'm going to stick with i'm gonna stick with fc dallas love fc dallas which i wish more people in the metroplex would care about fc dallas so we'll see if we can work on that but when it comes to the mavs and the stars south i okay we should go to a game i feel like we're a match wait for you to give me tickets i feel like maybe my phantom could be up for grabs slow you want people to come pay for your phantom when it comes to the mavs and when it comes to the stars because kobe's fuming over there i know he is furious with you by the way from the eight one seven we're not alone man's ranger stars but they're taking the chiefs when the nine seventy two goodbye cowboys hello vikings eight one seven they're ditching the cowboys for cleveland because cleveland is going to win the super bowl this year from another eight one seven they're ditching the rangers for the astros because of the j d and nolan feud this one from another eight one seven what's up eight one seven they're ditching the ravens and going for the cowboys and from the four six nine changing teams.
