"If you are looking ahead to your Tuesday, maybe you're still awake on a Monday. That's me. I fit in that category on. I did take the next two nights off from the show because I remember working Election night four years ago and essentially sports clear the deck. Not that we can't do a show when there are no actual games going on. But I found myself wanting to watch the election coverage and the reaction as opposed to wanting to do a radio show about sports, and again, it was, it's relatively quiet. I think there are a lot of athletes to have been Maurin Vaal ved in the political scene and are encouraging more people to vote or in some cases telling you who to vote for, But I decided that since I have a bunch of days I have to use still. I actually have to use 11 days off between now and the end of the years of a bunch of time off around the holidays as well, which I'm grateful for. But I also decided I would use a couple of personal days this week Sense It's election Day, coming up on Tuesday and I don't actually know if we'll have a definitive answer by the end of Tuesday, but I still decide that would prefer to sit home in my sweat pants and watch the coverage on TV on DH. Then, In addition, I have a couple of appointments. My dog stinks. She smelled. I could smell her from like a room away. And so I got her An appointment. T get groomed to get a bath on Tuesday, and I also have a dentist appointment. I have to do get a little bit of work done. Nothing serious, but just something that they want to do. Just as a precaution. Precaution proactive on in a couple of other things I need to do so I'll be out the next couple of nights going to be weird to go from sleeping at night during the weekend toe working to overnight so then sleeping at night for two days and then back for Thursday night, so I will wrap up the work week with you. I'll be back here on Thursday night following the start to weaken nine in the NFL so odd, weak But again, I need to use them. Days, and I kind.

"And the need to hold teachers in schools accountable. And I certainly agree with that. But as an individual with an educational background and also apparent I have seen a lot Out of instances where the parents are unresponsive to teachers or flat out uninvolved in their child's education. How do you intend to not only hold the teachers and schools accountable, but also hold parents accountable? You know, it's hard to make people love one another. I wish I knew the law because I'm darn sure sign it. Love said all of us to be good parents. One of the things the next president must do is to remind people that we're gonna have a responsible period in America that each of us must love our Children, all our heart and all our soul. I happen to believe strong accountability encourages parental involvement. I think when you measure and post results on the Internet or in the town newspapers, most parents say Wait a minute, my child's school and doing what I wanted to do, and therefore become involved in education. I recognize Is there. Someone just don't seem to care. But there are a lot of parents who feel like everything is going well and their child's school and all of a sudden they wake up and realize that wait a minute standards are being met. That's why I'm so strong for accountability. I believe we ought to measure a lot, uh, 345678 grade way do so in my state of Texas when the good things we've done in Texas as we've got strong accountability because you can't cure Bless you. No, you can't. You can't solve a problem unless you diagnosis. I strongly believe that one of the best things to encourage parental involvement also is to know that the classrooms will be safe and secure. That's why I supported Teacher Liability Act at the federal level says of a teacher of principle upholds reasonable standards of classroom discipline. They can't be sued. They can't be sued. I think parents will be Maurin Vaal ved with education. When they know their Children's classrooms are safe and secure as well. I also believe that we need to say to people that if you cannot meet standards, there has to be a consequence. Instead of just the kind of the soft bigotry of low expectations that there has to be a consequence. We can't continue to shuffle Children through school and one of the consequences of lab parents have different choices. President Wei have a huge difference between us on this.

"Christopher to X from game changes. Chris, How are you, man? White Tony. And, of course, Dave. I'm fine and glad to be back with you guys, and we're glad to have you back and listen. There's there's some people that claim to be computer community activists, and there's others that actually get out there and do the work and take it to the streets. And that's something that you do it. I know for a fact that some people say Well, it black only whatever it no, that's not the case with Chris for two expert. You work with Children of law, backgrounds and colors, and you're actually concerned about making changes. But that's not what I want to have you on this morning about. I wanted to talk to you. There's an attorney. There's representing one of the grand jurors, okay? He and the grandmother is saying, Listen, I want to speak about the proceedings that went on with this. The sealed indictment your part. You're connected with that attorney and I believe the juror is that right? Uh, yes, they are. Excuse me to why? I, uh, through a mutual friend received a call on Saturday, October dirt in regards to what we describe Grand Juror number two. Okay, and that individual describing there. Ah, Frustration. Um, this appointment with against the way the announcement occurred on September 20 yards When Eiji Cameron announce the findings, as relates to the Rianna Taylor grand jury in connection with the shooting. And so on that 39 on October 3rd. They were just lying to seek guidance in regards Tio what they were hearing about grandeur number one who's represented by attorney Kevin Glow Gower with the suit that was found with the grand jury judge for the month of September, which is Andy O'Connell. I was looking over that hole. Deal about Is she going to allow this grand? You're as related to this suit. To speak out more freely about that proceeding. So number two as we describe again, but more or less looking forward by and the advice that I gave was simple. That they should wait on the judge. See what the judge ruled down. He had the court process goes and then thank you from there, Chris. We talked about this before the announcement from Daniel camera that people were not going to be happy regardless. Of the facts of the case. Now, what are the jurors alleging? Are they alleging malpractice on the part of the attorney general? Are they alleging things were held back explained to us what their problem is with the procedure. Well. For me without getting in any in depth conversations with those grand jurors, expensive grand jury, too. And what I've been prostitute to my friend Kevin Glow Gower. I've been knowing Kevin for 15 years. When he first started out as a young prosecutor over the Commonwealth attorney Dolphins. But I'm not hearing anything about any Aah! Mischievous stuff going on as it relates to the grand jury. I haven't heard anything like that. I think more or less. These frustrations are kind of what they heard. Two announcement misrepresentation. As it relates to the way they took those, you know words from the A G and equally at the same time. Uh, things like something that might have went on in the grand jury. Arcee. In regard to what they feel some kind of way about and what we don't have to do, guys to be quite Frank with you is to wait and see how the court ruling go. And it seems like grandeur one and to want to at least kind of follow the law as a right now in regards to them. Making any public statements are speaking out are You know, maybe not based on, you know the way these rules could go because remember any O'Connell's one level judge Kyle's one level and then there's probably going to be an appellate level coming up names. Talking about Christopher to X. I can't think of anybody. Maurin Vaal ved in the community as the activist Van Christopher to X and we're talking about There's grand jury. They're labeled as grand Jury number one. Granger, number two. There are wanting to speak publicly about the grand jury case. Attorney general Camera came out with And I'm a little confused because it seems like if there was something that they were not at peace with Christopher that Ah, it would have been a hung jury. And so it's did someone change their mind on a verdict or I'm just so confused by this and I'm sorry that I can't comprehend it. What the what the Why you Li hung? Juries are and I'm not large, and I'm not gonna pretend to be, but I've been around, but, you know, two decades and I have a court the last time the bottom line is when you get a hung jury, those regular Jury panels that you know pretty much deal with trials, whether Devil Criminal, whatever grand jurors and the way that I understand that it goes It's like 12 and panel individuals. If nine vote in favor of an indictment or not. That's the majority if three hold out. The majority win. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm like that man is the majority that wins the three can hold out if you will. That's the way it goes in grand jury voting. I thank the answer Your question, though. As relates to what I've been privy to as faras frustration. You know, That could be what Eiji Cameron said. Probably that one they decided based on Kentucky law and evidence. They did not want to charge the Madeleine Cosgrove. With the the dance of Briana Taylor as related to what happened on that chaotic Early morning of March, 13. The question becomes is bid. Cameron and his team presents. Anything in front of that grand jury to allow the grand jurors to decide on the fate. Of all the crimes Grove and Mattingly. And there's just been top going back and forth about maybe that was never presented to them again. I think the grand jurors are smart enough to wait. Until now, there the court ruling to let them know if there's a green life of them. If they do, go ahead and expand on, you know what these frustrations are back? I'm still having a hard time with this that the grand jury is not like the outcome. Are they alleging that there are facts that would have been helpful and possibly indicting the other officers that were held back? Maybe camera didn't present the complete case. I'm really having a hard time with this. Still, Tony seems like to me that That could be one of scenarios that Maybe they felt laughter listeningto evidence with two days And it seems like Monday and Tuesday 21 AA. Argh! I mean September 20 AA September, 22 excusing and then they deliberated things like on the third day that they of September 23rd the same day of the announcement. They deliberated that morning. Don't seem like they listen to evidence to day And maybe felt That they would leave be presented as a related Two. Charging are not charging from the A G's office. All the prosecutors who were in there presenting that case to them, they could look at all three of the options as relates to Brent Hank Griffin. Mouth cause grow. John Mattingly. And it seems like things like that. They were only presented one charging..

"Out. We'll talk you after kickoff. You've got Reginald I let's head to Jeff Hathorn in Pittsburgh. D want family reunion today at Heinz Field. Jeff Standing by Jeff. Good afternoon. Good afternoon. I feel like we're in their backyard and they invited a whole bunch of people for a football game. Which you can imagine the hitting that goes on in the back yard of the watt family. I could only Imagine it's going to be equal here today. But, yeah, it's pretty cool factor. The second time in two years that three brothers have played on the same team the Steelers have to Edmund's brothers. When they played Buffalo last year, Of course, their star linebacker now again there to Watts on the Steelers. And, of course, J. J. Watt for the Houston Texans, And, you know, every year rich we look at those at week three. We look at the O in two teams and we say Which ones are going to make the playoffs or have a shot of making the playoffs? And I would say the Houston Texans have as good a shot as anybody. They played the two best teams in the league, and obviously I've come up short. They've got to do is they've got to get David Johnson going. Duke Johnson isn't going to play in this game. He's inactive, which hurts him or in the past Russia I think are in there. Excuse me past receiving than and pass protection than it does in rushing the football, But they've got to get David Johnson going if they can do that. Force the Steelers into some run blitzing and maybe they'll be ableto Getsem combusted plays allowed to Shawn Watson to get free and maybe minimize the rush of the Steelers, which has been Fantastic. And then defensively, you know, J J what's going to go against a backup right tackle? He hasn't had a great year numbers wise, and I know he gets shipped a lot. And I think the deal is gonna have to do that as well. How effective can J J b Can you take advantage of that right side? That's going to be a big key for them heading into this 11. Plus is David Castro is back today. So that's that's going to help the Steelersoffensive line. But one big problem. The Steelers had You know, it's against the Broncos, where they were called penalties 10 times, That's gotta change. Yeah, And they brought refs into practice this week that were officiating everything they were doing from special teams field goals to defensive pass interference on those calls. Mike Talman. I think as much as anything he wanted players to know that the officials were there and that they needed to be sharp er in practice and hope that translates over into the game, But Hey, you give this offense and I know it's struggled at times with Houston, you give them second chances and they're going to make you pay. Any surprises on the inactive so far. No, not really. The Steelers had a clean sheet of practice for those that were available all practice Friday. All are in the game and including to Castro that you mentioned you just Miss Shuster Miss couple of days of practice with a knee injury. He's not 100%. But he is going to play in this game. The no surprises there and then the big one for Houston, Duke Johnson not being able to play. It should be a fun matchup. I think Steeler fans are waiting for. Their offense to get going to get into some kind of rhythm, and we'll find out if they're able to do that. Today again. Not just stay J. Watt, but some other veterans that can make plays in this Houston. You know, it's funny, you mention that because they're there to and so they have this great defense. Ben Roethlisberger is healthy again, but they just Haven't looked the part of a team that you would expect it to atone Has this talent so far on Bennet's looked rusty. I mean, he has, and maybe it's what you should expect for a 38 year old who didn't play for basically in an entire year. I had to work his way back and got no off season with these young receivers and a new tight end that that was one of the big areas of talks in Pittsburgh this week is Eric Ebron. When is he gonna bust out and start having an impact? Now we've seen touchdown catches and consecutive weeks by tight ends against the Ravens or Excuse me against the Texans. So maybe today is the day Eric Ebron. It's a little bit more into the offense, and it's more of a vertical threat. But they have to get them. Maurin Vaal ved in what they're doing past wise, because eventually they're going to I'm going to clamp down on these receivers and they're going to need other options. "From minority business owners. Oh, that from Kamala Harris, who apparently sees herself at the top of the ticket that includes her name, but is the vice presidential nominee. Yeah, that's Camilla Harris talking about Thie Harris. Biden administration or, as she said it Harris administration together with Joe Biden. Well, it means something entirely different. Welcome back for the Lars Larson Sho glad to be with you on a Tuesday night. And was that just a slip of the tongue when Kamala Harris, who I told you two weeks ago, is actually the Realtor top of the ticket. She's the one who's running for President Joe Biden is just along for the ride. Well, apparently, Joe Biden understands his place in that particular ticket. Is he at the top of the ticket? Take a listen to what he said just a few hours ago. Paris by administrations going to relaunch that effort and keep pushing further to make it easier for military spouses of veterans to find meaningful careers to ensure teachers know how to support military Children their classrooms and improve support for caregivers and survivors. So much more than we do now. Harris Biden administration. Even Joe Biden admits that that's really what the ticket looks like. I don't think this is a joke anymore. Joe Biden seems to think he's in the second position on that ticket, and Kamala Harris seems to think it's going to be the Harris administration, along with Special guest star Joe Biden. Welcome to Lars Larson show. You know, we've got a lot to talk about tonight. And among the things if schools have nothing to hide with what they're teaching your kids, then why require parents to sign a form promising not to eavesdrop on their kids? Virtual classes is in the education establishment, usually begging parents to get Maurin Vaal ved in their schooling. No, I think in this case, the teachers are afraid that you're going to hear what they've been teaching your kids for years because your kids are now gonna be sitting in your living room or in your kitchen doing virtual online school and what you here, especially if you're a conservative may not actually sit very well in your ear. The Middle East was in a state of chaos before President Trump took office. Did his leadership create the conditions for the new chapter we're seeing with a peace deal signed today between Israel and the U. S. And Israel and Bahrain. And now The Times of Israel Tonight is reporting that 7 to 9 other Arab countries, maybe signing onboard that peace treaty. With winter coming soon. What's going to happen with the China virus collides with the seasonal flu will get into that this hour as well and take a moment to cast a vote in my Twitter poll. You can do it two ways. Well, we'd like you to vote once. We're not Democrats here. After all, you can vote at Lars Larson show on Twitter. Or you can vote at Lars Larson dot com. Our website If you're not too crazy about Twitter did Briana Taylor get the justice she deserves. Rianna Taylor is the young woman who was shot and killed in a police raid. A so called no knock warrant. Now I know there are people who want to eliminate the possibility of no knock warrants. I would be completely against that. And let me tell you why. I've gone on some warrants with police officers in in years gone by where the police officers understand that the people inside the house are not likely to resist them with deadly force. There are other kinds of warrants, though, and for some criminals, the police should not have to give a warning that they're the ones coming through the door that is both safer for the police officers. Ultimately, it's safer for the suspect as well. The suspect will be arrested taken into custody, and if nobody gets shot, then that's that's the best result altogether. Let the person stand trial get their day in court. If you tell the police you must always warn the people inside the house or inside the apartment that it's the police coming through the door. There are criminals out there who will shoot the police as they come through the door. I think that is the reason for no knock warrants in this case. Was it appropriate? Well. Briana Taylor, according to some reporting by The Louisville Courier Journal, which is one of the big newspapers in Kentucky, as well as The New York Times, suggests that this young lady was heavily involved with a former boyfriend who was involved in the drug trade and that she may have been involved in some tangential way whether it was money laundering or other act. Biti's well. In this case, the police in Louisville actually say they had good reason to use a no knock warrant. In that case. In this case, Briana Taylor's boyfriend jumped out of bed. Brad grabbed a gun and shot a police officer in the leg. As the police officers came through the door. Police officers returned fire and Briana Taylor was killed. Well after months of protest that turned her name into a national slogan about police violence. City officials in Louisville have agreed to pay her family $12 million. They've also well they've agreed to a whole list of demands that the family had for making changes in the way that the police do their jobs, early warning systems to identify ulcers with red flags. Most of it is anti cop. So did she get the justice she deserves? I've offered you three opportunities. Yes. No arrest the cops or neither. I would say in this case neither the fact that her family is going to get a huge amount of money does not bring back their daughter..

"Talk to you. Pick up your phone. Give me a call 105 375252 Let's get to it. We have Karen from Clarksville, Tennessee. Colin Hey, Karen, What would you like to talk about? Well, I have an outdoor cooking question. I am the grand master for a Cub Scout Pack here in Tennessee packed 53 We have about 50 active voice and we go camping 4 to 5 times a year. Okay, we're pretty good at cooking outside and Dutch oven. But last year we tried a traditional Thanksgiving dinner outside and the boy for the life and we did creamed corn and cheesy potatoes. We had two different kinds of stuffing. They even ate Brussels sprouts, potatoes and pumpkin pie and apple crisp. All that you cooked outside in Dutch ovens. Incredible. Yeah, Yeah, It's pretty awesome to even do it. Remind me what are the ages of comes scouts typically our kindergarten through fifth grade boys and their old man? A small battalion of 5 to 10 year olds cooking all that food and Dutch ovens outside and you made it happen. And it was happy and delicious. And you still have a question. I'm not qualified to answer anything. If you could get that to happen Well, we have some really awesome leaders and some really awesome kids. Wow. So cool. So what was the question? We've chickened out and did Turkey Loaf because I had ovens at the camp, which it doesn't always happen, But I want some ideas on how to cook turkeys outside. Everybody agreed they wanted to try it again this year. But they would like real turkey, okay? What you're saying to me makes me wonder and boy, this would be so cool. But would you consider Building essentially like a rotisserie that I mean, it could be pretty simple. You'd build a stand metal stand with a metal rod and doing the turkey's rotisserie style over the charcoal fire on DH because I think if you're everything in Dutch oven You can get that to work for sure. I'm sure you can bake them. But then you know, it'll be steaming inside. Let me get it cooked and I get super delicious. But you know you're not going to if people are thinking like we want the turkey for that golden skin. The Golden Bird kind of feeling right? Eso? No, I'm sure you can Google up a 1,000,001 books and how to build a sort of primitive rotisserie. And just get those turkeys roasting. You could do with a crank. You know if you could sort of crank from slowly and it would be fun to watch them as they get, you know, progressively more and more beautifully colored. Keep a fair distance away from the flames, so that you're not overcooking or not burning the skin. Give it that time to cook all the way through and and just get that one for a few hours. Maybe that's the first thing you do while you everyone's prepping everything else. And that could be an idea Early on project now, right? Yeah. And how magnificent with that. Look, if you have You know, for five of these big, beautiful bird just kind of roasting along and you just feel so cool, I think Or the other way to do it is kind of this may sound like Maurin Vaal ved in that, But in some ways is easier. Where maybe you do also, then, you know, cook those turkeys in big Dutch ovens. Basically bake thumb until they're done and afterwards. Maybe you can set a beverage history as well and then just brown them afterward. Like almost like if you were roasting in the oven you some recipe, He roasts the low temperature. You crack it up to brown disc. In the end, you can control the cooking a little bit more and make sure they're cooked all the way through with maybe a little bit safer. It's like adding a step to it. But maybe you could do that and still get that nice skin at the end. Or, you know, you can also do it. And if you have grills, you bake the turkeys in the Dutch oven, takes them out and then just give him a little time on the grill the end just how brown ups on that skin. I have to practice the summer so that we can do it this fall. You are running a superior cubs got Grove operation I have to say. Well, thank you. Well, you know, parents have such hard times on the first morning. When I say just get your cup of coffee and let me crack the eggs and you've got 10 boys reckon six dozen eggs. But they get so excited and they get involved, and they try things that they've never tried before, and they know that they can do it. That's super cool. One of my early, like formative cooking experiences was that was camping and cooking outdoors and thinking. Oh, this is really cool. I want to go home and do more of this. Well, thank you. So much for the call and good luck with the turkeys and Congratulations already for feeding Cub Scouts at a superior level. Thank you very much. Take care of. Thanks. Thank you. All right. We have market alive from Huntsville, Alabama. Hey, Mark, what would you like to talk about? Well, I think cooking more Eastern Asian cuisine recently and I've heard many great things about miso paste. And I would really enhances dishes in particular roasted vegetables. However, personally, I've had no luck in using me so paste and no wrote, what's gone wrong. Well, I'm usually just been a talking the vegetables with a red Nico case based off that leads to a lot of burnt me so and unevenly cooked vegetables. Yeah. Okay, So you like the flavor of the meat, So I do I do that a bit strong for Ah, a lot of vegetables. But seeing such a sweet potatoes very well with Yeah, that's great. Yeah, You can certainly contrive with the experiment with other missiles Beca me, So is a little bit more intense One you could get like a white me, So that's a little bit more chill over the more mellow and they you a little friendly with Wider variety of things. But I would say, I think the problem is in tossing with the miso before you cook, because miso certainly does cook well, but it can burn pretty quickly. There's a lot of protein and a lot of like natural sugars in it. A lot of starches and especially the arresting vegetables. You know, you're probably doing in a fairly high he you're probably gonna arrest him for 2025 minutes to get him cook through and tender, So I would be afraid of finding that exact balance where you can actually roast with the miso..

"Sitting on $8 million didn't give a dime to Jim Marit Haug said. Believe he's invincible. What? How you gonna make that happen? I would not have given a dime to Jim Merit. He ran an absolutely terrible campaign. What I would have done has been Maurin Vaal ved in the actual process of selecting a candidate and being much more forceful earlier, the Republican Party refuses to recognize there's more than just statewide races. The win here, and they did abandon Marion County. I had that conversation with the Republican Party. They don't want to admit it is none of my concern. It is fact but going to the part to the bigger part of your question, Rob the people have to be the ones are we going to need groups? Allah Hells angels patrolling the canal. The answer is, maybe it works for for Reverend Harrison. And therefore it could work for others as well. There's a way to do these things. And if the mayor's office wants to claim vigilante ism, I don't care. We have two people have been murdered one who was during a robbery that person got killed and then this woman got murdered. So we should argue that there is a a difference there. But the canal is not safe. But then again, ask people who are on the circle in the evening. It's not safe as people about downtown on and over aggressive panhandling. Ask about the spice dealing. Ask about the using. The streets as as a giant toilet. It's not safe. It's a great city can be a great city. But right now it's not up to snuff because we have allowed it through our elected official to not be up to snuff and that Joe Hogshead got 70% of the vote was great for winning reelection but has nothing to do with the disaster that is the city right now his inability to lead and the City County Council's inability to lead as well, there's failure. All around, and it is up to the citizenry to tell the failure step out of the way, and if they don't like it, who cares? They're not doing anything anyway. I believe it was our City County Council that made racism as a public health crisis. Can a brother get some homicide in there? Can we make murder a health crisis because it feels like that's a bigger issue right now in the city than anything else. And then we go back to the mayor, Mayor Joe Hawk said. You claim he doesn't care about safety, but his fans has followers will say, Now, Wait a minute, Tony. He's making masks mandatory for everybody this Thursday. He cares so much about safety. He's putting safety in his hands for your life. What are your thoughts on mandatory masks coming to marry in county coming to Indianapolis? This Thursday? First things first. I never said he doesn't care about safety. I did. What I said, is he is. Is it just making sure he's all saying again? Joe Home does not care about safety in the city. He either lied about being able to have a safety plan, or he is inept and incapable of carrying one out. No, I'm not in favor of mandatory masks, although I have no problem with people wearing masks. It's fine by me. I don't think it's the end of civilization. I think people get a little silly on the subject. If there were no mandatory masks during the 1st 3 months. I don't know why there's mandatory masks now. Just because there's an uptick in Texas doesn't mean we should be somehow in full level of panic mode. And while downtown Indy and I, like the group downtown Indy will tell you that the You know, the mask order is really gonna make people feel safe about coming downtown. The $1000 fine that you get for not wearing a mask. I think that's going to keep people away. We're about to find out. Tony. I want to come back to the idea that you think it would be a good idea of sons of anarchy Control the canal. I really like that. When you talk about a vigilante type of approach Does that mean just people? Organizing groups doesn't mean it's some organization inside of the city. I actually think.
