"The free agency frenzy show. 'cause it's definitely a frenzy. And that's on the air now on NFL network. I'll be joining it at 4 o'clock Eastern Time when we'll be four hours into this craziness. Maurice Jones drew our Friday guest. I'll be sitting there with him and so many more. Very excited to be there for you, talking about everything going on. And I'm just wondering if four Eastern Time will iron Rodgers made a decision because as of 1 o'clock Eastern Time, one hour into the negotiation period? Period. Still nothing. I'm laughing from crime. I can't believe the jets are in this position. At any rate, Greg cosell will be joining us shortly here on this program to break down the film that he has already worked on for the top quarterbacks in the draft and that could not be more relevant with the Panthers moving up from 9 to take somebody and then the Texans taking somebody off the list of top quarterbacks not named whoever the Panthers Jews and so on and so forth with the colts it's sitting there at four and while we're waiting on Rogers decision and everything going on Chris brockman, you're monitoring, right? I got my fingers are working. You're monitoring. We already heard Jason Kelce coming back, which is great news for Philadelphia. A perfect way for them to start. They're non playing season Brandon Graham Stan put to as we learned last week over the weekend as well. So things are looking up for the Philadelphia Eagles for first blush, 8 four four two O four rich is the number to dial, but let's turn to our guest line right now. Joining us here to help us break down the brackets massage the brackets that we have now received from the tournament committee on Sunday, a man who will be covering the NCAA tournament for CBS and Turner and the athletic. And he's got a new book out that it's called wake up with purpose. What I've learned in my first hundred years, not Seth. Sister Jean. And Seth, writing a book together, back here on the rich eisen show Seth Davis. How are you doing, Seth? Doing all right, rich, little running on fumes this morning, but I'll recharge my bathroom time for tomorrow night. I don't understand the point of having an NCA tournament without Michigan in it, but maybe another conversation. You know what? I think I think it got canceled, right? And then they just put it back on just because some of the other people complained about it. That would be the that would be the appropriate response. Understood, understood. So let's just jump right into it. The do you like the brackets or are there any issues? With the brackets in your mind? Yeah, I mean, allowing that these committee folks spend a lot more time on this than I do. I said during the selection show, I don't see any justification, frankly, for putting Houston over Kansas in the overall seed line. I'm not sure because people actually have normal lives and they don't live this like I do, but I'm not sure how many people know. They actually see the entire field one through 68. And people think there's an S curve where you're matching up seeds in that way. But it's all determined by geography. So if you are Kansas and you are the number two overall seed, you get to go to the Midwest regional, which is being decided in Kansas City. So now Houston is going there and Kansas is being sent out west. And we Kansas had twice the number of quad one wins and much the hardest strength of schedule in the whole country. Houston was 96. And Houston had a bad loss to temple. So in Houston's goods, clearly deserved to be a one C, but that was really the one thing that jumped out at me. Everything else, like your bubble team, I know Rutgers fans are bummed and Oklahoma state what have you, but if you've played your way onto the bubble, then you really have nothing to complain about at this point. Well, I mean, if your Rutgers fan you just root for fairly Dickinson in the first floor, right, Seth? Jersey. Come on now. I mean, it's not like Jersey got completely shut out here. And then there's Princeton, I don't know why, maybe it's my old school backdoor Pete Carell type guy, you know? But I see Princeton versus Arizona and I just start to wonder to myself, is that an upset? Start identifying some of the shockers, the slipper fits type moments that we're going to see on Thursday and Friday of this week. So just some nerdy numbers for you. 6 over the last ten years, a 15 has defeated it too. So if you pick a 15 over a two, then a sense of you have a 60% chance of winning. At least one of them. So Arizona, the last number two seats, so that might be where you look. They've got an injury issue with your point guard. They played UCLA in the PAC 12 final and UCLA had two guys out, one of them was not coming back, and in Arizona is still only beat them by two. So that was a little bit surprising to me. But standing in that bracket, rich, the two teams I like there in the south are Charleston and Furman, Virginia is another one with an injury issue Charleston at one point was ranked in the top 25. I think they're very understated at a 12 and I love the way they match up with San Diego state. So those are two to jump on. I actually have you CSP Baylor has been vulnerable and then Florida Atlantic to me is an interesting team, which also won a ton of games has also been ranked in the top 25. They play a lot of players, so that one comes to mind. And the other two I'll give you a really like VCU over saint Mary's VCU had a great home stretch last month and a half of the season won the a ten tournament to terrific defensive team as a saint Mary. So that's why I think it's a good matchup. And of course, we got to love the Drake, which is one of the oldest teams in the country and a really good bucket getter and Tucker to freeze. The Missouri valley has a great history and they were the best team. They won their conference championship game by 26 points. So I've got them actually beating Indiana in the second round to go to the suite 6. How about that? Man, but I'll tell you this, rich. Yes, sir. All these teams from 11 to 14, they can all play. They can tell you they can all play. That's what I guess. And I guess that's what we've seen over the last couple of years, and I'm just wondering, you know, why or if it's now a deeper pool or we never talk about college basketball when it comes to NIL, Seth. We always focus on the college football world, but I'm wondering if we might see a time and this year could be it. If we just see more of the upsets from the double digit seeds because they get one or two or three kids that are terrific that we might hear about, say, heaven forbid in a June draft in the NBA, that they're going to the smaller schools and now suddenly there's parity, if you will, for NCAA tournament. Yeah, it's a great point, but I think it's been happening for a long time. I mean, I think if you look back really over those last 20 years, starting with the George Mason going to the file for the very

"Gene in Florida has been hanging on for an hour plus. What's up, gene? Hey, rich, how you doing? Thanks for hanging in there, man. I was a little upset at the end of last season. What I know to get rid of Lamar, but now the time is here, I have had a change off. Okay. Right in the Baltimore gets this thing done before he even gets to talk to anybody else because I think it's a huge mistake. And on the point of if he goes anywhere, I want him to be a jet and I think that jets would be anybody's crazy, not to grab the ball to give him whatever he wants. Things in his mid 20s, he's probably the best football quarterback we've ever seen. And I think whatever you lose financially right now, you're going to gain with free agents because people are going to want to come to New York and play the marjoram because you will be a contender. If you had them last year, you probably would have been having a trophy. And I hear Eugene. But why haven't receivers flocked to Baltimore to play with them? I don't understand that. I think you put that jet helmet on that Boolean. Making that 5 year contract to where he will play two in the jury and put him in New York. I think it would be the answer to all your prayers and you worrying about money and I think the jets of all teams should shoot for the move because I mean, what do you got to lose at this point, Rachel? Well, I mean, I appreciate that gene. Thank you. What have I got to lose? I don't know. Rogers is a much more short term less expensive in terms of total dollars and also less expensive in terms of draft compensation that's required to acquire him. Lamar's the most expensive on the market in terms of dollars and draft compensation thanks to the call gene. Let's go who's next right here on the program. Let us go to, I believe it's our friend ramming in Montana. How you been, sir? Good, how are you? Good, what's going on up there in the great state of Montana? You almost got it. It's rami. Okay, Romney, what's going on, man? Oh, we're good. So I just touching on the Aaron Rodgers thing. E thinks that he's brilliant. Hit me with it, Mike. It's not like, but it's Jason, but he's got it for you. Oh, sorry. It's okay. There you go, rami. There you go. Brilliant. Okay. I don't think he is. And I disagree with Oreo. The 30 or 30 40, like I think it's about 80% people are just thinking of nonsense to be quite Frank. And I live up here in the cold weather state. And there's a lot of factors fans here. They're not filled with him either, you know? I hear your same thing. Yeah. And then touching on something you guys talked about earlier. Airplane button? Yes? Okay. Rockman, door lock? Yes. Okay. He's appreciating the reclining of seats and Chris brockman's parenting. Thanks to Carl Romney, I appreciate it we're up against the end of the hour right here. Thanks for calling. I'll push back also on florio that he thinks Rogers doesn't care what people think of him. I would disagree. I think he very much does. I think he very much does. Again, the Jets have put it so far out there. They got to get them. They have to land him now. And the one flying the ointment could be. Potentially, because they reside in the AFC also, would be the Raiders, and I just kind of want to linger on this first split second here. I haven't spoken to Josh McDaniels. I don't think he's ever been on this program, actually. I don't know if he would sit there and go, you know, the way that I did it in Denver, I'm changing it here. In Vegas, but not everything to the point where he could try and figure out sit down, have a chat with Aaron Rodgers. Let's go. What do you like? This is the way I would do it. Do you think it would be a fit? Not saying this conversation hasn't occurred, but if I was Josh McDaniels, I would say, don't want to fly out to Malibu. Let's zoom. Okay? And I will sit down with you and I will try and figure out how you can be a pirate. That there's an autumn wind and it's called winning the damn Super Bowl in our hometown and if I'm Mark Davis, I'm sitting there thinking, can you and Aaron just talk about whether you can work together? Because you know devonte and Aaron Kent, let's figure it out. I know you like a certain way of doing it and you like a certain amount of control. But can you give some of that control to Aaron and Aaron? I know you like the control also, but can you give some of that to your new coach here? I would want to find that out instead of just like, yeah. We've got a certain system here. And we've got a certain way of doing things here. And you know, I'm just not this leopard can't change his spots. And I know you're a leopard too, Aaron. And I don't know if we can figure this out, but can we figure out if I'm Mark Davis if the spots can be on the same leopard called the world champion Las Vegas Raiders in the building where the Super Bowl is taking place? Devonte Adams, Josh Jacobs, max Crosby, Chandler Jones, hopefully Darren Waller, hunter Renfro. You don't think they can win it with those guys figure out the rest and you still have your 7th overall pick to use? I don't understand that this is sacrificed on the altar of yeah, not the way we want to do it. Don't get it. And if I Mark Davis, I make sure that conversation happens and let everyone know, I am not bald. But that's just me. Honestly, this is the time to figure it out. And I don't want to put a fly in the ointment of my chest because at this point in time, if it doesn't happen, major problems. Well, I shouldn't say major problems. It's a bad look. And the bad look can be overcome by the right move at a quarterback spot if it is. Jimmy G or it is somebody else or they do go for Lamar and they do figure it out and it doesn't matter how bad this look is if we look back and pick confetti out of our hair at the canyon of heroes. But if I'm the Raiders in Rogers is in play, he is officially in play. And you have the guy with all due respect to Greg Jennings and all due respect to Jordy Nelson. I mean, devonte Adams and Aaron Rodgers, when Aaron goes in the Hall of Fame, what are you going to be talking about? And I understand devonte wasn't on their championship team. Come on. Because devonte is on target to have a bust in the same room. You have him already. He's there. He's already instagramming

"You're going to have to give him a full, you know, a fully guaranteed contract. And then let me put this notion out there because I've tried to put it out there a little bit. Everyone's upset with the browns about the fully guaranteed deal. They're already redoing it. That's the whole point. I kind of lost my place a little bit. The browns are already asking deshaun Watson to restructure. And I think he's entertaining it, right, Chris. And we hear that at a report that so the deal that apparently Lamar is holding out for and the ravens refused to give, Cleveland has already one year in, wondering if it's workable. Well, they had to get them first, right? This does the same thing with his deal. Every year he restructures. Got it. And whatever that means to him. It's not an outlier. It's not everyone does it when you get paid that money, but I think when you talk about Lamar, what he's been able to do. And what I was going with is the Vikings, the one that kind of started this president with Kirk Cousins. Yes. Right? You give Kirk Cousins two fully guaranteed dude. It was three years, 84 million. And then Watson pushed it up 5 to two 30. With all sorts of other garbage that the browns, they had to overlooked place the side. No question. And so if you're Lamar, you don't have that baggage. Correct. If you're Lamar, you've been MVP. If you're Lamar, you every year you've played, you've gotten further in the playoffs. And it's just like, to me, it's like, and people always say he needs an age and he doesn't need agent. Like, when he comes to quarterbacks, you're slotted. Your performance kind of puts you where it needs to be like, I don't think the banks are going to be like Joe burrow, you're not worth 50 million. Joe burrow is going to get what he wants. Jalen hurts. What a fascinating off season as Herbert hurts and burrow are all in line for their deals. Their strike it rich, generational wealth deals, and there's Lamar sitting here, and then we're wondering about Rogers. I want to take a break with you when we come back. If you're on hold stay on hold, we're going to take your phone calls 8 four four two O four inch number to doll in this hour. Well, I want to come back. I want to talk to you about Aaron Rodgers a little bit more. And pull on that string that you mentioned about a fractured locker room because guys know who should get paid and why not? And if they're not paid and they bring somebody else in, that's a big problem. Because that's something that might have been a dynamic that just

"Hour one with Mike florio. That's how you can check that out. Hour number three, the actor Andy Serkis from the new Luther film on Netflix. You also know him as a guy who played Gollum and Lord of the Rings. Ulysses klaw in Black Panther also in Planet of the Apes also, he's got a great Coldplay story to tell. He's the 8th grossing actor of all time, meaning all his movies together, it's made the 8th most modern of all time. He's been everything. You want to run down the town real quick? I mean, again, if you're in The Avengers and you're in Lord of the Rings and you're in Planet of the Apes. I mean, that kind of works. And I'm going to stop talking as if my guest isn't sitting here to my right. One of my favorites. I just learned I'm working with him next Monday. When I'm doing the two a day doing the show on Monday here and then going to the NFL network is part of the hosting of the free agency frenzy on NFL network starting at four Eastern Time. Maurice Jones drew good to see you. Good to see you. You know what? I have to say this. The last time I came, has been first of all, has been far too long. Okay. The last time I came, there was none of that. Roku, there was no YouTube TV. But growing like a weed over here, I said, you know, I'm just trying to cultivate this caper. It's nothing wrong with that. That's all I'm doing. That's why your devil did. That's why your double dipping on Monday. That's what I'm talking. I like it. And double dip. And so you and I are going to be sitting there as everything starts to break. And then we were talking about that off the air and Chris, you're saying stuff's already popping. What do you got over there? What do you got over there? What's going on? We got us for us to chew on. Give me something good. Like what? I don't have anything. What are you talking about? You were just talking to the commercial break about it. What was the window? Oh my God. I was listening on YouTube TV in the back. You were listening on the Roku challenge. Yeah, that's what I was listening to in the back. Yes. Odell Beckham's workout. Now, first let me say this. First and foremost, Odell, thank you very much, because without you, I wouldn't have got my first Super Bowl ring and I appreciate that. But that is going to be an interesting thing because I think whatever team gets him, he's going to open up your office so much more. He still has that ability to take slants at the house. Yes. Short passes. You saw that with the rams, all on a hurt me. That was on a bad knee. So now his knee's good. I think that's going to be one of the first should be one of the first kind of dominoes to fall, which will kind of you'll see where they're going. Okay, and again, so folks understand. I literally had to sit here and go, Jackson would win a Super Bowl. Raiders didn't win a Super Bowl. And I get it as a member of the rams broadcast team. You have a ring. Oh, a big one. Number and everything. Looks like a player. Really? Yeah, so 20 years from now, my grandkids, I'll be like, hey, listen, old pop pop. You know, he won one back in the day, 2021. You were a factor. Yeah. You're calling it. Put it out there, man. I had to put it in the universe. I like it. You know, it's part of it. All right. So Odell, I mean, Dallas would be a good spot. Give me anybody would be a good spot. I think, and I don't think this had happened, but imagine if you went to Kansas City. Just imagine that. Well, people are going to flock. I mean, I would, I'd go to Kansas City, want to play with my homes and offense that's wide open and you can kind of do and you have a quarterback that can do different things. That would be nice. Dallas, obviously, is the big one. I think it'll help them more just because I know McCarthy wants to run the ball a little bit more. But having that ability to just throw a quick hitch out there, CD lamb can do it, obviously Odell can do it. And those guys can take it to the house, makes you a little bit more dynamic. Okay. Your jets. Are we spending big with the jets? Are we going all in on Rogers? Are we going to kind of Rogers and some other pieces? Well, they need other pieces. Do you think last year if Aaron Rodgers was on the jets last year, they would have won the Super Bowl, they'd have beaten. The eagles, do you think so? I don't know if they'd have won the Super Bowl, but they were sure by the playoffs. And they didn't in the playoffs, anything can happen. We saw that with the Jags. You can't sit here and say anything can happen, but they wouldn't make the Super Bowl because that's it. That's why I'm saying they need more pieces. Yeah. I do love the Young Turks. Who are sauce and Garrett Wilson and breeze hall. And quinnen Williams and the rest of those young kids that they're growing up. And that's the whole question. It's now Friday 1 o'clock Eastern Time in New York City. 72 hours have passed since they've broken for they broke bread. There were Malibu. I'm a little upset that you know the place that they went to, lucky. Lucky. I've never been. I'm more of a you're unlucky. I wouldn't say I just like this hang out in my little area. I don't like to kind of go too far. Veteran doesn't strike me as a guy who leaves his area. So he's in a nice arrow with some nice restaurants. So do you think, what do you think? Do you think it's a fit? I think it's a great fit. To me, when you have a young quarterback like Zach Wilson and you have this team that's built and ready to go. You may need some peace in the O line, but really other than that, I feel like secondary you added a Clark from the ravens. You've kind of added some small pieces along the way. If you get that quarterback to fit into that final piece of fit in, anything can happen. Now, the thing is, in the AFC, you have to have a guy, right? If you look at all the quarterbacks, there's what you have, obviously burrow, mahomes, Allen, Trevor Lawrence, you have Herbert, Herbert Russ. Lamar Jackson. You have deshaun Watson with the browns who kind of came on at the end of the year. You have rust, like all of a sudden, you have to have a quarterback in the AFC to contend. And Rogers has been in the NFC where you're playing more team fits, like the niners, or even with the eagles before Jalen hurts, they had a really good team and Jalen hurts was that final piece. So it's going to be challenging, especially in the AFC east with what Miami's doing down there, the bills what they're doing and then Bill Belichick finally went out and got in my OC now to go help his young quarterback out. So it's going to be a challenging season. But if the jets want to contend, Rogers is the answer. Well, I especially since again, if you want to keep talking about how deep end the AFC quarterback pool is, you take a look at the draft. You have to think if you do like the kids that we saw spin it at the combine or Bryce young who didn't spend it they come on. If you do like them, you're thinking Texans, cults, raiders, three more teams are going to get young kids who might turn into one of them as well. I mean, the pool gets deeper and deeper and deeper, but I have to, before moving on, ask, why did you make that face when I mentioned Russell Wilson? I think, come on. In all honesty, I've watched Russell Wilson and I last year I said, I thought Garrett Carr was better than Russell Wilson. People jumped all over me. And when you watch his tape, and when you study him, what I had to do with calling the games with the rams, he misses a lot of his first reads, Russ, Russ does.

"At the NFL game day kick-off crew and NFL network Colleen wolf, Steve Smith senior Michael Robinson and Maurice Jones drew and I tell you what There's four people up there, but there's enough warm clothing for at least ten people. They are bundled up in Pittsburgh. You know what though? I'm gonna be really cynical right now. When they, when Miami went up to play buffalo, they dressed up like it was freezing up there and I thought that they were trying to sell this image that this was going to be the super cold buffalo game and they blew all the snow off the field, but you still had snow in the stands and the fans throwing the snowballs. And I thought that everybody all dressed as Steve Smith had the big goggles on. Like it was this freezing atmosphere and you rarely saw people's breath. The players out on the field come in for it was like 29 30, which back these guys in the northeast and you've lived in cold weather too. That's not that code. It would be cold to somebody from LA. But if you live there, that's not that cold. So you get to the next day and the eagles go place Chicago and Jalen hurts is doing the postgame with Pam Oliver, but you know when somebody look cold when they look like this Mario when they're trying to talk and they got their shoulders squished up to their ears and they're trying to keep it straight faced and you can tell they just want to get out of there and I say, you know what? That was fun. That's cold. Would you see tonight at Pittsburgh? That's cold, but now that's karma. Now you're in some real cold when you was fronting like it was so cold and buffalo. I got to keep it a big with you bro anything but all 50 and I am looking like Maurice Jones drew. We've been here for a minute though, bro we've been our blood thinned out. I pushed you back in Louisiana. Exactly. I saw a snow for the first time in 17, and about 18 hours. I'm good on this. So I'm good on that. I will say this, the one thing I say about snow and weather and stuff. I appreciate this. And you know what? Our board of Chris, he's from Toledo. So you have an idea about this Toledo, obviously 45 minutes away from Ann Arbor. For the first, I don't know, ten years I lived in Michigan. All the time I was in college, it was just snow. It was just snow and it was cold. They didn't have, but now you got bomb cyclone. You have to breathe. I appreciate the fact that now we are naming some of these things because when I was there it was just the blizzard is coming. The blizzard. We used to have a Lake effect snow all the time. Exactly. Here's the thing. And the east coast, they call it a nori. And when you have a northeastern coming off, by all the milk and eggs. Offer Louisiana, okay? You have a rainstorm, and then you have a hurricane. Hurricanes get named. All right? Michigan, I found you had snow. And then you had a blizzard. And everybody was just like, deal with it. You got to be at work on 10 a.m., deal with. It dumped 8 inches outside yesterday, deal with it. I'm like, this is a natural disaster. We got to deal with it. And you know what? This just makes me sick about the whole white Christmas thing. So I don't have a big fan of it, but Vijay. I feel like you might be. You might be into

"On our program that we keep talking about over and over and over again, the man who plays Nacho varga is in our green room right now, Michael mandel going to come on out here and talk some sports in our favorite TV show. Vince Gilligan, our first ever in studio guest in the history of this program. It was almost 8 years ago. This is 8 years ago this fall, but he was here. From not mistaken was just leaving the writers room to help start right season one of Better Call Saul. I was 8 years ago. And now the final season of Better Call Saul hits the television screens on July 11th, the final 6 episodes of the 6th and final season, starting on Monday, July 11th. Trust me, I am already circling that on my calendar. Michael mandel is here on the rich eisen show and we have had a great chat so far with our friends Jay bilis and Chris mannix about the NBA draft and Dwayne Johnson about the National Football League. If you missed any of their pearls of wisdom, including Jay bell is coming, would you say a little cranky today? Playful playfully cranky? It feels like Jay was a little perturbed by the view from his hotel room. That's what he started with. And he started with that and then it just kind of snowballed. 6 story buildings is what he said. You could see. From his place in haven't spent a lot of time in Brooklyn, but I don't know if that's good or bad. Well, definitely doesn't look out on the Scotland of New York City. There's a lot more than just 6 story buildings. Brooklyn's been really built up in the last decade or so. So Jay joined us with a bit more pertinent information while slagging on pickleball as well. That's not what happened. I know you love too. Chris. He just pointed out how great of a pickleball player, 75 year old Mike krzyzewski is. And he also mentioned shuffleboard, which I'm sure Mike kresh doesn't do. Coach K have a couple new hips and a backseat. We've been taking phone calls all day from our listeners chiming in on the subject matter, inspired by this being the 38th anniversary of the debut of the premiere of The Karate Kid. What fake sporting event would you have most like like to have attended and the phone from a phone lines are a little bit here and we'll take a couple of them shortly. Michael mando here in the rich eyes and show TJ Jefferson, you have been doing this for a few days now. The top player in the history of every franchise in the National Football League. I know our friends at pardon my take have fun this time of year where they call it Mount Rushmore time of year because sports talk shows run out of things to talk about and they come up with the Mount Rushmore of a sport or a team. You just said, we're taking three of those faces out. Throw them out, man. We're just going to one. There's no easy way out. One player. One, that's it. And yesterday you did the NFC south and you named Sam mills as the Carolina panther of choice, not Steve Smith, not even Luke Kuechly or Cam Newton. They were all mentioned. He went Sam mills and brockman had a problem with not only that and also naming Deion Sanders as the number one falcon and not Matt Ryan. That's okay. He's not a fan of either of those teams. Which division do you have today? Well, today because we really had no direction when we started this. So today we're going to go with the AFC south. Okay, the NFL film's music is now playing, thanks to Jay felly. Yeah. That means the floor is yours. Well, as you know, in the AFC south we have four teams and they are the Houston Texans. Yes. The Indianapolis Colts, which I still can't figure out how they got there. The Jacksonville Jaguars and the Tennessee Titans. So right off the bat, we're going to kick this off Indianapolis Colts lots of great players. We'll talk about them later, but we're just going to give you the name. It's Peyton Manning. He's my guy for the colts. That's for the Houston Texans JJ watt. For the Jacksonville Jaguars, Fred Taylor. How about you guys kind of discussing that this morning? Tennessee was tough, but I'm going to go with the MVP. I'm going to go with air mcnair. I'm going to go with Steve mcnair as the number one player in the Tennessee Titans. Peyton Manning and Steve mcnair were the co MVPs of the NFL the first year we were on the air on NFL network 2003 when we were in Houston interestingly enough for our first Super Bowl that we covered. Brady's second Super Bowl win, beating Jake de Lomé and the aforementioned Sam mills. In that city of Houston, it was Peyton Manning and Steve mcnair has showed up as the co MVPs on NFL total access. We were jacked to have them both at the same time on live TV. He went JJ watt over Andre Johnson. That was a tough one. Andre Johnson great receiver in my fantasy football league. He's held in very high regards. Everybody in my league knows that. But JJ three time defensive player of the year kind of just gave him the nod over people like Andre Johnson, Arian foster, another great Texan. Deandre Hopkins, Dwayne Brown, many years on the offensive line. But I think that JJ watt was the right call for the greatest player in Texas. Did you think at any point in time that the colts organization also still has the records of the Baltimore colts? Yes. In their world as well. That had John Unitas he was right there. There's a few others. There's a few others a lot. But many more. But Peyton Manning is growing up to us until Tom Brady went on this Super Bowl run for years. It was Peyton Manning's the best quarterback in the NFL. I have no problem with Fred Taylor, sir. As you know, that was the name that I mentioned before the show. Did you have another name and then heard me and then you were influenced by that? No. I had Taylor, but Tony bessel was up there, unfortunately, you know, his career was only 6 seasons. Fred Taylor, you know, 11 years, 7000 yard seasons, 11,000 yards, brushing for that team in a very demanding position. So that gave Fred till at the edge of my eyes over Tony basile also, Jimmy Smith, Jimmy Smith was really good. It was really good. Maurice Jones drew our friend. Mark brunel, Keenan mccardell. They've had some great players, but I remember we used to do highlights back in the day on the night highlight show and Sunday Night with me Dion and mooch, Jimmy Smith. I used to make some NYPD blue cracks, you know, for Jimmy Smith..

"How how would that play in los angeles. How would it play in returning. He did no he did do a good job terrific coming stability to penn state who basically took them took it to next level. I don't know on once since. I think if usc 'cause i'm sure he is he's already had you know an impressive start. Everybody who's been the offense coordinator at alabama has been wildly successful. So you think you'd expect he will be my guess is if they end up with him as the head coach and this is. I don't want this to come out. Like i'm like. He's not a legit. You know credible coach but if they end up with him i i suspect there's been some other people who either t- turned it down weren't interested or they just didn't think they were a great fit. You know like the fact that he he was you know had some success as the head coach that houston texans i you know and he has built bella moth stamp of approval and now he's there with next save and you know that's all good. I think it's probably you know relatively safe. If you start getting into like oh is it gonna be him or you know pj slack. I mean i would guess so. Know bill ryan would probably would probably played better in terms of what. Us's fan base would think. But i think if they get to that point. I think there would be a whether it'd be very much a wait and see and i don't wanna say it'd be underwhelming higher too. That's not fair to say it that way. But i just think that right now You know we'll see we'll see. How much interest get at usc. But at the same time usc has ended up with some very very suspect Hires since p tara laughed. So who knows what they're gonna end up with how much they love in this in the athletic department in westwood. Right now bruce what do you think yeah probably got a better time to be a bruin because you know chip kelly. Just be lsu and they kinda whip them when they did it man. So there's a lot of enthusiasm and excitement for where they're at at this point It's quite a one eighty. And i think if you are honestly if you're if you're usc. I don't know how you look at the situation and go. Yeah i wouldn't. I would rather have what they have to we. Have you know right. now i'm talking. I'm bruce. I'm talking hoops to i mean what are your you know what i mean like I'm talking hoops. To and i'm talking about what's going on in football with chip kelly and you know the jordan brand upgraded the wasserman centers. Where like a lotta. Nfl guys trained there on the season. A lot of really positive things that have happened about like you know. Honestly at this point like ucla. Athletics has become cool again Because the final four run and certainly because of the buzz around the football program after that win it was one win. Not like it's been you know it's not it's not like it's been they just won the pac twelve title. But i think there's a lot of enthusiasm around. Ucla in ways that it hasn't been for a long long time because even when they were good with maurice jones drew got reggie bush across. Now you know. That's not the case right now like usc the mess. This isn't like oh yeah. Jd's always maurice jones. At the time. I guess he was over there going but you had you and and what they were doing now. It's only ucla. That has some buzz last one four years there were some other hot seats. Beginning to to boil get hotter and college football reserve up at lsu. That's a rough start for odor on. I think he needs to. He needs to get the offense and the offensive line going..

"At this time each year. Is because you train 100 plus football players during the off season. You usually have a pretty good idea of who is going to light it up in any given season and that information Usually can translate and be valuable to people doing their fancy football drafts. So give me a breakdown of guys that you've trained this all season. Who are primed to have big years. Well, I always start with kind of a safety one. I'll go out on the limb this year. I'll go out on a limb and I'll give you right off the bat. My sleeper. Michael Carter. New York Jets. Um, you just You have to see this kid. You have to see him. Um, I know again. He's only 1/4 round pick whatever and and everybody's going about the height and the weight and stuff like this. But if this kid gets an opportunity That is the one I want to start with, You know, Obviously I got big names will get into those. But I'm going to lead off this year. I'm going to go out on the limb for the for the first time in years and say, Michael Carter, That's that's the guy. I mean, if you just look how strong he is, It's just It's very, very rare. Um, you know, I hate to make comparisons, but he runs me. A lot of Maurice Jones drew just that He's fast. He can move he can catch. But if you just look at his breaks, it looks like it's a video game. You know, Like, like some every running backs got a style of jump cuts. When he jumped, cuts full speed and doesn't break break speed and actually gang speed off the second break. It really looks like you're looking at a video game. So from a purely athletic standpoint of what is required for running backs, he is something else and he's the perfect kid. In terms of just mentality, work ethic, professionalism, maturity. He acts like he's a 10 year. Betty's incoming rookie and everything we hear about from a football standpoint as he's tearing it out, so If the Jets offense comes together like some people think that it can, even though there's a lot of new parts, obviously, um, that's a player to watch, and we even trained Ty Johnson. I'd taken both dive. Johnson's got ridiculous speed. It's the first time we worked with with Ty Um, he is blazing fast, and it does transfer the football, so I'll lead off with with with my sleeper right there. Michael Carter, you started on running backs You gave us Michael Carter, the New York Jets rookie draft pick. Give me a couple of other running backs who you've trained who you think again already to have a big season. I mean, I would definitely say Erin Jones. Um, I know Erin Jones definitely isn't an unknown name, but in terms of what he's going to build off of this is the first off season. I work with Aaron. And we spent some time together and you know he's stronger than people think. I know. People think he's kind of on the undersized side and are and people questioned how many carries he's going to get, but he's strong. I don't I I don't believe it so much into that. How much do you weigh thing? You're either strong or you're not, and you can be strong and be somewhat lighter. And that's just what makes him unique. But again, it's just his versatility. I mean, I honestly do believe that he can line up anywhere on offense and be effective. And I think that Green Bay smart enough to use them. And obviously, with the returners coming back in the quarterback coming back, I think that As good as Aaron was last drive. I think you're going to see a massive jump this year. Well, what was the first thing that struck you about him when you got to train him this off season for the first time? That that burst just the burst. I mean, you know he's not like a 43 guy, but he looks like it because you know, he hits a difficult cut and whether it's a route or just emotion and we train them both. The ability to gain speed. I mean, he gets so low to the ground. It's unbelievable, And when he comes out of those breaks, it's just that burst its some things You can't teach you either. Have that freakish ability to bend or you don't. He's got it. He uses it. And the one unique thing about both of those guys. I mentioned they they take immaculate care of their body, and I think that's a huge point. Of longevity. Now football is football. You could hit the wrong way. Something's going to go. But when people take care of their body as well as those guys do, I think that for the most part you can you can count on them. And I think that's a huge point with running backs any wider. Any wide receivers. You trained that you're recommending to the listeners today. I mean, obviously, I would love to start with Allen Robinson. I think that I definitely talked. You remember? Last year, I said, I mean, he's he's a big name. I think that he's going to be under drafted. I think that he's going to have a prime year and he proved me right. And then some. I mean, he had a monster year and honestly, I I hate to say it, but actually, I love to say he looks faster. And the reports yet coming out of campus, he looks like he runs better out. I love to hear that. I hate to take credit for that because he is just phenomenal player. But I do think that he responds to some of the style training we do. He does. Seemed like he is faster, and we spent a lot more time this year that even last off season and I think he is at his peak people talk about this could be the best offensive systems ever played in. He's always been effective. I think Alan Robinson is going to be a solid top five player overall. One of the best receivers in this in this system. Fantasy football. I will go from my stud pick a violin, Robinson. Immediately into my sleeper of Albert Wilson. Now. Albert Wilson obviously didn't play last year because he opted out. But again, he's in that We work work with Albert now since he came out of Kansas City suspend what four or five years. This is the fastest I've ever seen. This is the best shape he's ever been in. I know people get a little bit nervous because he didn't play football last year, but just look at the training camp. He's had a production he's had. And it seems like with, uh, with with the Dolphins are all systems go. And even I would have to put Myles Gaskin. I know I'm going back and forth the running backs again, but, uh, I do live in Miami. Obviously, I'm a homer..

"Ooh okay. We now welcome on of our favorite guests recurring guest in studio. I think we're the only show that does their fantasy football preview. Like this and it's i think this is the third or fourth year in a row. It is jerry o'connell our favorite. It is so exciting to be back here. i mean. I don't even know what to tell you guys i ever since i was on your show those who might number call last year i talked about. It was around this time exactly last year. And i was talking about draft strategies and i said i have a lot of like ticks and ocd's when it comes to my teams. And i have to have a few browns on my team because last time i won berlin edwards derek anderson. Were on my team. I have to have a few jags on my teams. Because last time i one maurice jones drew my running back up and i have very weird ticks but this year i made a very long list as to why i can or can't draft players from teams and positions. And oh okay so you're trying to change yourself. Well it's not that. I'm trying to change myself. It's just that Commenter it's like when you were in a relationship okay and it's not working out you know and you just try and you keep trying and you keep trying to make the relationship work out and it's not working out. You're trying to demonstrate growth that you've had your self reflection yourself. It's not growth. It's time to move on blow the whole thing. It's time to move on. Yeah sometimes relationships workout and sometimes they don't like hiring a whole new. Gm in front office. I love this. I you know i was making more of a relationship analogy. Sometimes it's time to call the lawyer and say it's i want out. How how do i deal. Get the house. So let's start with the browns. Yeah where before we do that. What are you doing these mugs. Something i'm on a show called the talk. It's a it's a Talk show on cbs. It's on weekdays at two pm on. Cbs on the first male host on the panel. It's a groundbreaking. Breyer robin we. You're literally everybody is saying that the browns have the most talented roster understand that. And listen. you're gonna find out with the lot of my ticks. That's where i go wrong is that i quit them. Ripe afford the key. It's like it's like breaking up with someone just before they a are you going through. Let's like let's be realistic. Everything's fine with our marriage. We did it. We made it through the pandemic it was. I didn't think we were gonna make it but we did have to be honest with you. My and it's not just me. It's my wife. And i looked at each other like week three when it was like. Oh this isn't going to be two weeks week. Three and we'd like blasted through love island or whatever king king and like we realized we weren't designed to be together all the time and this is going to be really different but we made it through. I'm not going to say we made it through stronger. I know people say we made it through stronger and weaker. You made it through week. We actually we're a little. We're touch week or not a lot weaker. We made it through a touch weaker but we are still. We did it. Yeah you sound really happy. We do have to twelve year old daughter who just got phones so no but that occupied them all the time so it was great for holding out that long we did. We held out swell. Feels like it's i feel like kids. Get phone seven now. You know what's money you have about a decade for you have to deal with this cat but all lived there for. It's so funny. I grew up with went to a girl's house. I grew up actually in this neighborhood. Believe it or not. I went to junior high about five blocks from here. And i went to a girl's house at the chelsea hotel hotel on twenty-third and she was kind of an art already. Kid and i recall walking through her apartment and she didn't have a tv. And i said where's your tv. And she went a. We don't have one and i was like what and my kids at twelve. Not having phones were like that kid without a tv right. "Different things well in the back yard personal goes guys are there so it's to meet with interesting and i want your opinion on this over over the entire nfl. I think again. I was reading an article about the us open tennis and how this could be the end of that era of the great. Like truly the great. It's we're watching the best tennis players of all time three of them. Maybe one two and three the best tennis players ever playing right now and there is nobody behind them. So the sport in my opinion is poised for a terrible crash when they're all out of it because who's gonna watch nobody's gonna care unless someone emerges the nfl in my opinion like the nba is so positioned well to have the best of the best year. Drew brees tom. Brady aaron rodgers when those guys leave the net you kind of have like the next era people we were talking about russell wilson and you know even look at the young guy like lamar jackson baker mayfield even and now they got these rookies coming in. I think at the quarterback position. We've never seen this league in such good health. As far as like cooler the next superstars to take over. Do you feel that way. Are we looking at sort of a quarterback not renaissance but like a boom in a way that like we've never seen absolutely and the thing that was crazy about last year. I thought it was striking. Was how many of the rookie. Quarterback's came in and had success immediately. Like just in herbert. Who the chargers didn't even that wasn't their plan. They their plan was to start. Tyrod taylor or tyrod taylor member when we had that whole how do you say his name. Anyway to road taylor. But i'm not sure so. They and then he gets hurt and just in herbert's turned into the fire. And then just never it. looks amazing. That dude josh allen. I'm not even mentioning josh allen. He's incredible josh's yeah. He incredible it for the future. Austin buffalo bills. i mean. he's amazing. The i talked to jordan palmer who trains quarterbacks last year about this subject matter. And he said that quarterbacks are coming out more ready for the nfl than ever before for a number of different reasons fell is nfl stealing lot of college scheme. So there's not that much of a difference it's like used to talk about pro style offense now the pro style and the college like it all kind of looks a lot more of the same fitting their offenses to the talent somewhat. Exactly which is why. Would you take lamar jackson and make him a statue or or receive. They would have done that twenty years ago. I would have been like. Here's what we do well. Depending on what coach got their hands on him so he ended up with a great situation was willing to rebuild the whole offense to his skill. Set your spot but also another thing. One of the things. That jordan said. That i thought was very interesting was that you have amateur quarterbacks that are going to passing league camp seven on seven things. They're televised there on social media. Everyone within this group all knows each other and the spotlight is is bright very soon like at an early age so these kids learn how to deal with the attention and the pressure and all that kind of stuff and the ones who can't don't rise to the top and they don't rise to the top faster so we know earlier we know earlier that they can do is going to rise you flick. Yours quinn fricken yours. I'm just going to say that. The kid who from texas who skipped skipping his senior going to ohio state. And i l is going to have a huge part of that like guys you know like jordan. Jordan palmer is working with a michigan. We went to university. Michigan is working with michigan. Quarterback cade mcnamara. Okay who's probably going to be the starter and what k- talked about similar. You know basically what you're listening to what palmer was doing with him. In terms of setting up like a box on the field and literally having sensors all over his body like it's a video game and analyzing very down to the almost the microcell how you're throwing mechanics are correct or incorrect. These are things that like a quarterbacks coach with just an i would say i think your elbows to know they can show you on a screen over and over again. No you got to raise your elbow up when you throw it in like their learning these tiny tiny intricacies now in in college and the beginning that like you say. Get them ready. That let you're saying. How is joe borough. If he doesn't get injured how is he playing at such a high level right away. Well because he has been ohio state in you know the players are not going to class so they don't have to ever take a class ever and someone else is taking their tickets with them so they have more time to work on courts. Have more time to not entering into this. I can answer that the same back at a so. I went to usc in our rival is ucla. It doesn't work the same. I can't throw stuff at ucla's in ucla. Picking on them there. But you can throw it it. Maurice jones drew if you ever see him one around the hallways and i do. Don't worry i'm glad you so exciting times. I mean yeah you mentioned like kylo. Murray and uh-huh patrick mahomes is just in his third year fourth year. He's it's insane moments as a veteran because he's already gone so far he's still obviously the best player in the league right but like when radius so i'm not worried when brady decides to retire in six in six years. I'm not. please don't say that i'm not worried. We can take some of the tb twelve juice you never know but like look look. I love me some brady era respect. I appreciate all of the things. Okay this is my disclaimer. I want him to go away. Like i just for for purposes of what i do. I'm so tired of having the same conversation every single year. It's like the brady narrative the com- the questions that pop up every year at super bowl of his legacy. And i'm just bored. He's the best. He's the best ever and you may not see another again. Unless patrick mahomes goes on a crazy run but i think there's more parody i actually think there's more parody like yes brady had to do it. In the time of the aaron rodgers and aaron rodgers. It's so interesting because when weird. This whole aaron rodgers thing was happening over the summer jane our guest hosting jim rome show when it was literally half dropping so we were so knee deep in. And we're like why. Aaron rodgers has the best completion touchdown to interception ratio in the last three years. I think it was like ninety nine to eleven. So eh for every nine passes he has ten passes nine touchdown passes. He has one interception. That's that's insane. When you think about that it's so good. Brady's best three years best three years. Where like i wanna say. Five point seven to one so like it's amazing. Why isn't he winning more. And it goes back to something else that you said. Sometimes you need the coach to be a superstar as much as your quarterback and when they make a dumb decision you wind up paying for it. Do you know what. I'm saying any specific. I'm decision. I don't going kicking a field goal when you should have been going for it just like little things but all those things add up. You just shows you that like brady. It was amazing and incredible. And then he had check check and now he has arians. And you're just like okay. He's all the pieces right. The front office.

"It's defying his favorite and also the seattle seahawks. Hurry this morning. i'm fine. How are you never better lots of football. We can talk some football because we have a couple of big pieces of by know. Put up one that you predicted one that you denied your your batting five hundred. Honestly you're one for to better that right the baseball hall of fame i guess would be yes you have. You done steroids looking at me right now. Just asking well baseball you. Maybe you've done watched the bar saying i'm not exactly like i've seen your college building. I know senior Senior picture very very bulked up college drank a lot of body armor back in the day. Getting back into its now. Nah so let's get to the news. Because i've got to get to and let's begin in jacksonville's to find you yesterday. We learned i guess late monday night. We knew that tragedy and the jaguars first round pick out of clemson along with trevor lawrence of course had mid foot sprain. but we didn't know was a timetable. Yesterday we got all sorts of additional information. What more can you tell us about the status. Well failed when we talked about yesterday. We heard that he was undergoing more testing and just for people who might be wondering just a little synopsis of what kind of things they might be looking at. When you're talking about amid foot sprain. I tweeted that it would be a big deal to assess whether it was stable or unstable. And they do testing on the mid foot to load it basically to stress it under load and see if they get separation or instability and they can do weight-bearing x-rays and things like weight-bearing. Cat scan so you would assume those are the kind of things that they're looking at for eight and the list. Frank ligament we hear this term lists frank sprained. It makes people nervous. But it's a big ligament that connects bones in the mid and when it severely damaged. That's when you get instability. And why is that a problem because you can't transfer energy from the back of the foot to the front of the foot so it makes it difficult to walk much less run. If you don't have stability in your arch and maurice jones drew. Who had this injury told me once. It's like walking and sinking into sand when you're on hard ground if you don't have stability in the middle of the foot and that's why you get it fixed if you have a significant injury and of course by being placed on injured reserve. That means travis. Tnn is out for the year but suffice. Let's talk long term. Because it's a running back. He plays a position that probably requires you to have good balance and good footwork more than any other in the nfl or at least one of the most important business for it. what does it mean for. his outlook. long-term beyond twenty twenty. One outlook is pretty positive. And i really hate to see when people start assuming. Oh young guy and we talk about this injury and all of a sudden it's career-threatening or he'll never be the same and that's just not fair There was a study published in american journal. Sports medicine a few years ago. That showed that over ninety percent of players who have this injury will return to the nfl. So the chances of him returning are great. He's also young and he doesn't have nfl mileage on him so we don't know yet what he can be if you think about a young player who had this injury. Different position but still very dependent on speed and mobility was hollywood brown and he had this injury and had surgery in january of the year in which he was drafted and was able to participate in training camp and play during that season now. He said that he didn't have his full speed really until another year. And that's sometimes the case but if you think about where. Ten is in the calendar. We're in august and if he is has surgery soon by the time you get to. Ot as he could actually be participating in some form and it's really acclamation to building up acceleration volume. That makes you able to be successful. So i think there's a very positive electricity ten great news they are about long term future for. At and just for those that are having trouble keeping up with all of the injured reserve rules in the nfl because he was placed on injured reserve yesterday. Traffic is officially done for the season. Not that it was likely for him to come back anyways. But let's talk about this matthew. Four twenty twenty one and what it means for the jaguars backfield sure we i. I've just by the way disappointing in that look. Football's a violent sport. And we know that but you know we're not even to the third week of pre season. Whatever there was hall of fame game but you know like the main third week of preseason and we've already lost two running backs for the season right obviously after camakers now we lose tragedy. Is this you know if you bad you feel bad for the young man and his family so excited the first round draft pick you know all the talent in the world and so you wish him his family the best no doubt and we expect them to come back in a major way in two thousand twenty two and this is a player who is buying us at very young him and trevor of course demand for three years at clemson. This guy should have a bright future together in jacksonville as well. So it's impossible to just pivot and say hey let's get right to the fantasy football talk but for the purposes of this show. Let's dive into what it means her. James robinson and perhaps unlikely carlos hyde rob was a player that when they took etienne james robinson way was sorta like why right i mean for me. Football need stamp when you had a really good player. So now that trevor's atm will not be available for this year. Opportunity appears to be there again. For james robinson last year finishes rb five rb. Five is an undrafted rookie with out. Are you pretty easily much worse. Circumstances around him how high does he catapulting rankings. Now yeah so. I moved them all the way up to running back fourteen. So here's the thing. James robinson was fantastic last year. Obviously he was one of the biggest stories and fantasy football undrafted free agent undrafted in most fantasy leagues but due to lend for not getting released and some injuries ahead of me suddenly finds himself at the top of the depth chart and performs amazingly well on a jaguars team that didn't have a lot to smile about last year. But james robinson was certainly part of it. Okay one of the things that sort of helped his fantasy value last year..

Coming j. jd. Coming out of college was five foot seven. I believe short on five eight and he's probably thicker than from was times in person he's like. Oh he's a. he's a bowling ball player. i think he's he's more. The exception to the point is that right. I don't think you saw those two and a lineup. You'd think like that guy is built like that guy right meaning versus j. d. so i think we both agree but even though so we still had like search for maybe want right. It's it's there's also potential for work share. This is the young basically the offensive system and staff from san francisco where we as we know whether it because of injury or there because of just preference frequently were shuffled back spot so what did surprise me if kind of all these guys got a little bit of work but none of them became a weekly fantasy starter. So let's talk about the wide receivers. We'll get into it as we're going to double trouble but like trae sermon is really really talented. James connor is going to get a lot. You know again. Health is always a concern with. James is gonna get a lot of work in arizona as well so You know and and even ronald jones. By the way. I mean. I know you've got four nat and you got giovanni bernardo field but ron jones has had fantasy success on a much better team than the jessica say like if you had the opportunity to potentially draft the bucks top rusher or potentially draft the jets. Top rusher right joe. So for the jets There's really tight end of note. I would say on the jets. Unfortunately chris earned has just never happened but there are three maybe four wide receivers that are least worth mentioning by name. Corey davis assigned to three year contract with thirty seven point. Five million dollars this off season jamison crowder who had take a reduced contract to stick around with the jets who past couple of years has been heavily targeted and a pretty solid player overall. He was wide receiver. Twenty five hundred points per game basis their top of the second round pick elijah moore who was outstanding amazing last year in the first year lane kiffin as the head coach at amiss and denzel mims come a forgotten soul who average less than seven fantasy points per game last year. Second round pick out of baylor in two thousand twenty. I'll ask you the same question for the jets. I did the patriots. Is there a wide receiver that you believe out of those four most deserves to be kinda late round lottery. Ticket probably allies. You're more niagara. Because he's got the highest feeling. Well i mean here's the thing. I think corey davis has chance to be useful at gordon. Good player a good player. Who has signed a big contract and very easily could lead this team and target share. Yeah probably will. It's probably the odds on favourite to lead this team and target share so good player. Big fast again signed a big contract. They expect them to be to your point about jamison crowder. James crowd was really productive last year. Remember we were talking about them all last year like and i remember you wrote about him in the free..

"Be a little bit nicer here. would you rather forgive or forget stupor. Okay we get into the next stop. Let me go to my website here and would you rather pay thirteen year olds middle school off you go to snack nation dot com and you can find these. Would you rather be able to see ten minutes into your own future or be able to see someone else's entire future anytime you want a good question. I would rather be able to joe. I would rather see everybody else's future out your own okay. No because it's only ten minutes care about the investment the investment because he listened kinda. Change your direction des somebody. I'm like i think that person's pretty cool. But i'm not really sure i'm like dude. Looks for the rest of their future. Is that really somebody. I want to hang out. No can help myself by knowing others more than i can just by knowing point. You're smart very persuasive. Extra ace really well community is something we work on. We teach that television program because of that right there my mind whatever works for me right right. That's because you have decided to keep your beauty. Rain also decided to let him see into my future. The museum to my own. Right so amanda. It is great to be with you today. Thanks how're you enjoying day. One of rams training camp. You're a veteran out i am. I've been here every single year. I look forward to it every year. Awesome all right. Well thanks man appreciate that. This really has been great deception fun. We have some fans clearing out now for visual standpoint. I think practices over. So we're just going to be out here kind of a set striking and watching guys drive gators around with a big dudes picking football. That's right but you know what maurice jones drew is standing by so when we return 'em j. d. gonna talk to us from training camp. Yeah the k. Is live from uc irvine for rams training. Camp day one. This is the home of rams football. Yeah the home of lakers basketball the home of the afc and last night we were even the home of the angels. How about that. Clinton yates maurice. Jones drew is sitting down. What's up. I'm jay dee. How are you man doing well. I'm doing well low hot today. Yeah right when we like this but I thought it was a great practice at the energy and the environment was awesome. So good day one. Is you think that the team kind of reacted to the fans and stuff just in terms of having people back. What does that feel like as a player in terms of the energy. You get feeding you. Some guys feed off the energy right other guys kind of go out there about their business but you can hear the big plays you hear the roar of the crowd that big catches the interceptions. A you know when the quarterback guys are getting closer to the quarterback. Can you hear the crowd that that makes you want to go out there and play more. Play faster right Always tell people when when you're in high school and your high school game was kind of like a college practice. Right when you're in college you're caused game is close but not close as the nfl practice with fans out there because you have so much talent and so many guys outlets to expect. I mean guys flying around right guys trying to make the team. You gotta try guys trying to you know show out and social media and and these guys showed up and they and i thought the fans brought a lot of energy I saw jalen was talking trash but robert woods earlier. Tyrrell birds had a big interception. Everybody is celebrating. The fans are going crazy. It was just a it was a really good environment for football today. All right j. d. s. l. k. And we are here at rams training camp so you had one of my favorite plays ever in. nfl history. And i know that the guy who was on the receiving end of it is listening right now and he's going to be so pissed bringing it up but that's why i bring it up thighs fault. The play where you're down the goal line chargers versus jaguars and shawn merriman is kind of in his prime as a pass. Rusher and mj d. All that leverage gets underneath them and pick them up and throws them down i mean popped him knocked him out and people were like j. d. kind of like little compared to john merryman. Who's a big monster house. One of my favorite place dog. I loved i. I appreciate that you know. I've talked to him about this. It was a little tinton early on but You know cooler heads prevailed. I i feel like i told you. Got set up man that whole drive. We were throwing receivers adam. Fullbacks hide ends. Great play call. We got down there. We had already set up in the week. Like look. he's going to take your shot at him. he's not gonna be ready for it. He's thing you're gonna cut them and you know you felt for the okeydoke it happens. It happens to the best speaking of great play called. Talk to me a little bit about what you think this offense can do now. That stafford has come back and we talked about the eleven package. Cooper cup is backed as open things up or does it just allow you to do what you did better now. So after say this. I really feel like if the rams had camakers in his in his offense watch out right makers now only. A great runner is a great receivers for tremendous blocker as well Darryl henderson can do that as well. We haven't seen him do it for a whole six hundred seventeen games right so you gotta make sure that he can stay healthy that whole time But as you saw it here. I mean staffer was putting the ball on the money. I mean every time the ball was thrown to receivers hidden right in the face. Her in the chest it wasn't you know behind him. I mean these dudes are catching the ball. And they're running and so you haven't experienced quarterback quarterback that's hasn't played with a play car. Like mcveigh. right. You're playing with a quarterback that is you know only had one thousand yard rusher And so it was one of those things where i think he's gonna to benefit a little bit more. You're seeing a lot. more explosive. plays explosive plays or twenty yards down. The field passes or twelve plus runs. You'll see a ton of those right. And we all the big play to dijon jackson from the backside the offense You know streaking across the field and staffer puts it out there and he's running by itself. You had a lot of that in the last couple years somewhere along the lines. It broke down Maybe jared sem or a little bit of pressure. I think what staffer that ball's coming out quick and getting where needs to be you're going to see a very explosive offense. I think more explosive. We've seen in two thousand seventeen. Oh all right. So we're gonna you're gonna see you're going to see it go. I'm maurice jones drew. Let me get your opinion on this. You get offended as a running back when you hear people say that can makers goes out but come on. This is the new version of the nfl. Everybody's going to have to three guys. I mean you tell me you think that's overblown. Is it no i. it just depends on the runner. I mean i. I mean they didn't do that with me. So i i it just depend i think camakers You know the thing is. They drafted shawne believes in the run game. He believes that you have to have guys run the ball with a certain skill set right so he drafted to obviously henderson now. Camakers makers Cam goes down henderson as a step would be that guy jones as well back there. That can you're going to see if he can fit and they're going to figure out who can be second third guy for them but at the end of the day i mean if you have a guy. You're going to run them. I mean let's be honest when they had todd gurley. They ran todd gurley. There wasn't a guy in the backfield. Right i mean we can. Todd was often player of the year the next year. Even when he got banged up they were still trying to run by until he got really hurt him. And bring a c. j. anderson and so mcveigh's okay with running one guy right and again it's about being available more than anything. It's can you say healthy for seventeen games and so some teams believe in running back by committee. Some teams believing is having a horse But at the end of the day whoever that guy is he has to be available right. And i think if henderson shows that he could be available hill into being a guy right if if he if he isn't which we saw even camakers got banged up last year. They were there kind of splitting times. Both banged up. If they can stay healthy you'll see them both. Be the guy you mentally. You mentioned this. John jackson quickly obviously him coming back injuries. An issue just in terms of hopefully he can stay healthy and contributed. But the guy that i think is the most important in this record has been for awhile is cooper cup..

Great job by laura running this operation back in l. a. birdman phenomenal job. But everybody else in in some names here. If i need to but you know amanda sitting right here. That's one name. We've been very helpful there. You go all right. So top level management also. Okay you've got. Karl doing all of our social media forcing carlo outstanding work. That was a great livestream that we had earlier today. Kern and josh where we're running a promotion promotions in the house promotions in the houses. Right right fellas. Nice job christner. Alyssa's running around. He was helping out like always chris doing a great job. I think you'll wind up. Hearing a lot of what chris recorded today rick cutler and his son. We're helping out. They did a great job today. So job aren't great pair shades. Got going there buddy. Just want you to know that at one point and son was at the controls you know and demarco was trying to get on the air and son didn't get him on the. Would you start to panic. Caitlyn cadence over the came to just wet it all at that point. No you scramble. There was a scramble but we handled it. Had you got outside the pocket and delivered the ball downfield job man. That's what we want. Good to have you here young fellow. Of course tommy. Lamb was around here as well a rockstar. And he was and janice was on doing some social media. Well aaron guests our guests. Let's let's go to the guest list. Who do we have less need less needs. Robert woods came through marco. Far marco demarco and mojo maurice jones drew demarcus in mo jo or there was like a double guest segment which i keep robert woods robert woodson mark. I love that school. And i'm going to throw this out there. You're ready last people from the station. Just throw a little thanks to couple of our sales guy showed up big today as well not bad not bad to have the sales guy show up on site pretty good. Yeah good ever hear pretty good. They're here not bad soccer. Guys still suckering out here too. Nice job sales team that that way. Way to go guys all right fellas. Listen clinton said this yesterday bergman. You immediately jumped disagreed. He said that. The dodgers against the giants is a must win series because the giants had taken three out of four from the dodgers in la last week. The dodgers lose last night. Everybody knows the story. Now of bellinger air mailing the ball to third base and the dodgers wind up losing a tight game late in the game. Clinton says must win. You said not a must win is tonight a must win. Match up tonight. It is walker bueller verse. Anthony fiscal funding. Another must win. I mean again. 'cause when walker takes on your expect to win i mean just you know. Look you know i again. We talked about it before the number one thing. The way you play baseball is another. They're not playing good baseball right now. The one way to get back into playing good baseball is trying to win it dangling game. You know cody belgium. The ball all over the shop. You don't want that you know. I just think they they haven't won declared a must win. So what are we doing now. Say they haven't one one one one he said this shit. I still don't think it's a must win. Game as in the sense of what a must win game is if should they win today. Absolutely anytime walker on the mound. You have to win. And they haven't won. I think the last two or three times. He's been on the mount so those. I mean that's a lot of that becomes an offensive thing. Julio orients yesterday pitched lights out he was so good allow it. I think he allowed one run. And that was it and then they blew it with the with the bellenger thing they gotta get hits against. Anthony disco finding. This is something that they've done multiple times in the past there the one of the only teams that can hit this guy period and so they need to get to him today. They did not get him in the first inning. So hopefully they can move forward. But i still don't think it's must win. Even if they lose the series gets swept. I still don't think it's the end of the season. Wow okay i'm reaching. I'm fighting trump. Go on trying to find a stat. That i saw yesterday. That was very important. But i can't run. Games are terrible in one. Run games part of it but it was a leads after the eighth situation than i can't remember. Yeah there were some other interesting stats. That i heard that i've since forgotten the law dodgers to five and ten. This season tied entering the eighth inning. Look what's going on with this tasha teams though everybody is injured. There's nobody out there but everybody's coming back of course you're supposed to come back this weekend. Mookie betts is supposed to come back on the savage. You told me injury always gotta sees his position. Oh gosh i'm just saying you want to hear somebody cody. Bellinger has not been a good baseball player since this first half of the mvp. Wow hot take. He's been terribly go. Not been good at this point. He sticks around being. This guy has defenses. What's keeping him on the field. If the livestream are still up. I'd be staring into the distance but you don't believe go look. It is terrible before we get out of here. Make a prediction. You're ready will max. Scherzer get traded to night as all the rumors are that it will get done today. And who will he get traded to. That's to predictions. But i think he will be traded tonight. That is pretty. Well you give to the who knows. I don't know i think i think it's too. Yes i do. Think you'll be traded tonight and will you take it to dodgers whose what's coming up next gap. Thank you very much for that setup. Greg a nice softball coming up next l. Afc versus minnesota. United live from the bank. That is what's coming up next. Hey listen thanks to everybody. Who's listening today. Thanks to everybody who stopped by and said hello. We took pictures of everybody was awesome. Thanks to everybody who is checking us out on social media for the entire seven ten crew from rams training camp at uc irvine we out..

"Clinton. Yates j b long. The voice of the rams maurice jones drew radio analyst of the ran and got their lovely polos on. Everybody's looking good looking very sharp today. Handsome and community standing out in the tank. Just wanted to set that up so i get down so you and you were live a rams training camp and we go back to our studios in downtown los angeles where laura romo at unique u. n. e. q. Underscore is standing by with what you need to know. Hi laura what guys you guys sound like. They're having a lot of fun. Yeah a lot of handsome men over there you keep bingo bango. I know garrett is okay so you need to know. So mueller kunas and ashton kutcher main headlines. But i'm sure they smell them a mile away as they were talking. The hollywood couple were guests on. Shepherds are armchair expert podcasts. In they dropped the very smelly bomb the talked about how they don't tom shower regularly them or their kids tells us like. Excuse me hot in la okay. Exactly so meal was asked why and she said that as a child. She didn't have hot water so she didn't shower regularly anyways and it's a practice that she is passing down to her children and they said practice yes it says if you can see the dirt on them. It's all good. It's all good. She said if you can see the dirt on them then clean them. actually it was ashton that otherwise. There's no point. He also revealed that he only uses soap in his under his armpits and in other private areas but nothing else. Wow yeah this is gross. Just to be clear. I don't want my stance on this to be confused. In any regard at all this is unsanitary. Unhappy genyk and unsavory is another word that comes to mind here particularly during a pandemic the notion of not washing being public stance. You wanna take. I don't really understand but there are also rich and famous. India have all sorts of stuff. You know what. I'm saying so like if your people aren't going to be around my people you can be non bathe all you want but like if you're mingling amongst the hoy pulawy that's not gonna fly. This is nasty. That's just. That's the only way i can put a cap. It's nasty. well here's the thing so like la- especially the little kids it say how old their kids are. Because let me tell you something they stink. Yeah little kids stink. Okay because little kids. Don't use the odorant you know. Little kids are active and right and they're running around especially the little boys take it from me all right. I'm telling you they stink and and the notion of not bathing these children now by the way. Here's another thing. These are rich famous. Hollywood celebrities who have really nice houses and inside those nice houses. They got really bombed bathrooms and they got those showers one. That's coming from up top five or six. that are coming from off the wall. I mean the showers that you're like wow. I don't even wanna leave this shower. You gotta seat in the shower. They're big. They've probably got a steam room in there. What's wrong with these guys seriously. Clean your kids clean yourself right. Yeah it's gross funk defied song by the brat that's what you should play. I love that song singing on the show once again happening. You know we're out here at training camp. And i had a team of mine in college and then for a brief period of time in the pros and this guy absolutely refused to shower after our practice or a game. When is that about ill rose. It's nasty this. I love showering agreed right place. Great let me one of my favorite locations on earth in my lifetime in my forty years in the handsome man community when i was in the handsome boy modeling club before that. That's a that's a joke. There's a there's a whole album anyway. Like showering it's fun. You know what i'm saying. What are we talking about here. You get clean. You get the power-wash element you get the radio going at the same time so you can dance and singing. I mean come on man people. You people aren't having fun in your life if you're not showering and bathing your children. You know what i'm saying because other people don't wanna be around doesn't ask. They're not doing lifeway ashton kutcher. Yeah i mean ashton kutcher like i get his whole like act is kind of like look at me. I'm a little shoveled all the time you know but come on. Do not only have you made so much money as an actor you have made so much money as an investor and other things. Yeah come on man take a shower and put on some of the odorant gets get some body soap from costco. You know yourself. But i i'm serious. I had a teammate. Who would not shower after practices or after games and this guy would get done with games and everybody would go tailgate party. You know people party in the parking lot kind of thing and he's show up. He just took off his uniform put on his clothes and went to the game. He's a star. Two first round draft choice played in. Every i mean this guy was a star would not shower because he refused to shower with his teammates so he had a he had a stagefright. Yeah right now. It wasn't even like homophobe. it was just. He just didn't want to be around. Yeah i get it. I'm like what is your problem bro. He's like what you wanna shower with one hundred guys. I'm like i don't care. I don't really care doesn't really matter to me. That's gross ashton kutcher. Thank you're right there. You go so we're live here at rams training camp and interesting clinton is is the afternoon has gone on warmer for those of you are paying attention. That kind of thing temperature has risen. It has and in practice here. Everybody's gone from individual group drills and now we've got team drill team team red zone or what they call it. What do they call it like. The red zone extended the green zone. Is that what we're calling it. I don't know there's a lot of different terms of different teams use for terminologies. But let's see who's that well check my rest. Got offense versus defense. The offense in the blue jerseys the defense.

"Jason fits on ESPN radio talking to Maurice Jones drew, you can hear him calling games for the Rams and analyzing football on the NFL network. Is there anybody? We're not talking about that you You've been watching. And you think I'm surprised People are underwriting this guy. You're just not talking about him enough. I think there's a lot of guys in this draft. This is a very deep draft, so it's hard to pick out one guy. One of my favorite players watches Jared Patterson from Buffalo. 57. Awfully, Sarah. You know how I feel about short running back, but I did the greatest. But if you look at what he did this year in the shortened season, he scored 19 10,006 games. He broke A college single season rushing record, probably almost got the rushing touchdown if if the Cubs would've given the ball again, But you know, he's a tremendous guy. I think there's the left tackle out Alabama his name. Mrs. Nah, forget it member and he doesn't get talked about. He's a guy that doesn't give up a lot of second of the dominant player, but he's not one of the top tacos in the game as well. Juvenal another organ, soft, more D D that I had the ability to coach phenomenal player ball. Halt. Reminds me of Charles within a guy that can play offense and defense play every position on defense from Corner safety linebacker can cover tight ends like Kyle pits and those kind of guys that we're gonna start seeing governor NFL. So I think there's a ton of guys out there that you could really talk about, because because of covert and guys being able to opt out and stay in all those things you have so much talent in this draft class. That it's gonna be hard for a team to miss on some guy's here if they picked, you know if they make the right choices that benefit there. James talking, Maruge Jones drew real quick. I gotta ask you. I'm the lifelong Raiders fan on here. I'm hosting one of the draft broadcast tomorrow. 17th pick for once. I don't want to be surprised. What do you think the Raiders they're gonna do like who do they pick and 17. S a lot of people I have put in my mouth drafting linebacker. But after talking to which people there, Um it could be you. No offense of Lyman. I don't think it's that big of a surprise. It won't be like a splash pick. I don't think I don't think they go linebacker. I think they may go. Maybe D tackled the end another pass rusher because At that system that running you need guys that come off the bench and rush the passer. So don't be surprised if it's a defensive lineman or offensive lineman in this draft. Let me say this is the end. I'm a writer. And I feel your Pai. I grew up a Raiders fan. I know I played with the Jags. But that was my team Growing up. We gotta we gotta start winning eventually. All right, we gotta make it happen. I mean, But you though, As everyone has been reminding me on campus all day today, every year. I'm like this is the year we're going to get it. I am Charlie Brown running up for the football and the draft is the football that moves every year. Dude, I get it painful. All right. You got but you're in Chicago, right? No, I'm in. I'm in Connecticut. Sarah's the lucky one in Chicago. I'm Robin Bristol level E. I guess they had the patriots, but I mean, they're about to go to their their Jaguars. Uh, season here coming soon. Nothing. They're gonna be back in the next couple years. They gotta keep rebuilding and trying to make it work. But it is okay. And there. You know how I feel about your bears Last night, you had more than enough to say about my bears in their quarterback situation of varying times in your career. We all know, we all remember in haven't changed the way we know. I know. It's gotten worse of. Oh, thanks for the insight. And thanks for making us both depressed leading into tomorrow. Cadre. Shit. Nice memories compressed. Hopefully the judges make it work out, guys. Thank God. I got to stay hopeful Maurice Jones drew on Spain. If it's brought to you by good year, helping you discover the road ahead, Goodyear more driven. I will never forget those cutie takes ever Coming up a mock draft that won't bore you. It's next ESPN radio. We're back on Thursday, and the Jets.

"Accountable all the things that come up so i guess the cool thing is doing this since two thousand seven now jaguars with the first team. I've ever spoken to in any sport at any time but doing this since two thousand seven now thirteen fourteen years. You've seen a lot. You've learned a lot. So i don't think there's there's anything i haven't seen when you think of the list of organizations and franchises that you've spoken to the pretty acclaimed and i'd have to think at some point in time. You must have had like a a moment where you walked into whether as a presentation or conversation. A little intimidated. What would you say the most intimidating you've ever been yet no doubt It's funny when i think that pat riley miami heat so here i am speaking the miami heat and i'm not worried about the players. Love coach pat riley sitting right there you know and so you like hey what one of the all time. Greats is sitting right there. So i would say. That was the most intimidate. I've ever been spoken of michigan's quarterback hat when when kuchar was there and he's sitting right there we're looking over and seeing him look right at me so but that was an intimidating but definitely hat riley but my first time against with the jaguars you know. I'm thirty five years old. I believe i team energy bus just came out. Mike smith read. Former coach of the falcons. He was the defensive. Coordinator gives us the jack del. Rio jackals out of the blue. And i go meet with jack. Del rio in his office. Like the legend. Dr i'm an nobody unknown and i'm just sitting there with jack and he's telling me hey reading. This book really helped me get my mind around energy. Vampires negative million a level. You said that my positive. He needs to be greater than all the negativity that was like. Wow i wrote something that could could help a coach that that means a lot. He said when you come speak to the team. I i will. I said but you have to get a copy of the book and i'll do. It was bold enough to say that. For you. And i said to my said. Hey you think. Bill i go. You think they'll read it. He goes. I don't know john lacrosse players lacrosse players. They'll read it but you know they're football players. They may not. It was so yoni when he said that. And so. I spoke and and that was intimidated. Walking in this fred taylor. Maurice jones drew was like a rookie at the time. Yeah first. Nfl team never been an nfl room before. And now in front of these guys. And i gotta talk. I brought my just like by athletic. Mindset to it and my coaches mindset and just just just started spewing and when pretty decent so then mike smith get the job. The falcons brings me to speak to the foul matt ryan as a rookie quarterback at the time that ryan and then i started speaking to the falcons every year for like eight years or seven or eight years. I coached was there. That's great last week..
