"Or are you being forced into intrusive affordability checks? Do they want a photograph of you right now? Holding a letter that actually proves your address. Do they want to see your bank cards do they want to see how many people are living in your house? There's all kinds of intrusive nonsense going on. Never mind restrictions. We're going to discuss this and a multitude of issues surrounding the bedding industry in the company. Of one of the best in the game at full-time betting betting exchange trader, author of the book, betfair trading made simple, the ultimate guide to getting started, he runs a hugely successful YouTube channel, and you can find out more information about him on his own website, canbury dot com can welcome back to the show. Thanks for having us. It's been an interesting time. And I know that you've been getting contact from ITN about the attacks on gambling and do you want to contribute to this and that was that was a bit nuts. You were getting so this is just letters from people as well. We won't mention any names because you dare to question a few things. It's a pretty stressful time for you. Are you doing all right? Yeah, not so bad. Interesting is certainly one word you could use a space. And also there's actually been another response in the ICM people. We're getting to that in a moment. Well, talk to me about the ITN story. First of all, because you tweeted this on the 2nd of February and you shared a screen grab of the email that they sent you. So what was all this about? It was just a contact from an assistant producer for RTN to say that they were doing a gambling documentary and they were, well, I could see straight through what they really wanted and I've had a few like this in the past. And in fact, that was the second time they contacted me. But they were looking for somebody to sit in a pub and tell them about in play button and how it's really accessible. So reading through the lines of, well, I say read in between the lines. They actually also said that the program was going to be targeted towards the rise of gambling on youngsters and online and whatnot. So they're looking to do an anti gambling program and they want someone to sit in a pub and tell them about how easy it is to do your conquers really. You made the point though that actually in play betting isn't as prevalent as it once was, that it's down. And when you responded to them, you took issue. You took them to task pretty quickly. Yeah, I mean, look, this is something that's not new to me. I've seen this several times over and when we spoke previously and I come on the show, it had it all with the football index saga. And journalists typically don't want to hear anything other than one side of the story, which is I would guess popular to the general public and people that don't bet. And that is that gambling is just the worst thing in the world. Maybe they should do something better with their time people that are gambling, you know, maybe sell our car or something like that. But yeah, they basically reached out and they were looking for a very loaded position. And I find it extremely frustrating being somebody that obviously uses better products, don't work for a better company of any kind. So I'm not incentivized on the other side of the fence, but the silent majority is it where the people who use these products are just totally left out and there's not an honest and open discussion about it. There's been a rise on an attack on the sport and that's coming in a multitude of ways. There's the whip. Don't worry, we're not going to talk about before now, but dear God, that's an absolute disaster. And that is being used to attack horse racing because people like pizza, animal aid. They don't like this sport and they're using the ratchet maneuver to just, if you come straight out and say, we want that sport gone. Not many people are going to get on board with that. But if you target small things here and there, if you target certain sectors of it, and you manage to get the organization who runs it to bend to your will, then that sport could implode. And that's a very I strongly believe that's a very real risk that horse racing is facing right now. But a similar thing is happening in with gambling. And Matt sharp cousin is very much at the center of this. And look, I interviewed Matt on the show. And was met with heavy resistance by people who were associated with the show who didn't, they didn't own I own the show. I decide who comes on, but they did not want me interviewing him at all. And I was very taken with him. I was very taken with his battle against fop teas. I admired how open and honest he was about his gambling addiction a crippling addiction, one that left him on the brink of suicide, and I really admired how he took on the big guys. The big guns through fierce resistance from them and did manage to get the restrictions imposed on the fop tees. Foxes are those things should be just done away with entirely. And so I was impressed by that. But now Matt has taken his attention along with others and decided that gambling full stop should go. There's no place for it. There's no place for gambling in our society. But they're not turning that focus of attention on alcohol.

"And you know mad, I was, I really appreciate and respect the work you guys are doing, especially for biological female athletes and I suspect this is going to be a major battleground moving forward just a few days ago we shared the story on our radio station about a North Carolina volleyball player. A transgender player on an opposing team spiked the ball and her face and she suffered injuries and now that school has said, you know what? We're just going to have to forfeit our games. I mean, it's sad that female athletes are being punished in this way. Simply because they're trying to compete and they want to be able to compete with other biological females. That's right, a lot of this started several years ago. We were one of the first groups to represent female athletes. These were four young women in Connecticut that were talented track and field stars and found themselves losing out to opportunities to championships because of two biological males that were allowed to compete in the female category. And these young women between them, numerous championships, there's only over 15 championships that these two men captured, 16 records that they broke over 80 instances where a young woman lost a spot on the podium or the chance to advance to the next round of competition because of these two males being allowed to compete. And that's why we've got to stand for them. We've got to push back against this gender ideology that's harming girls, not only taking away their spots on the podium. But as you mentioned, it poses safety risk. And this is one of many stories we've heard of young women even facing bodily harm of being heard on the playing field because of men being allowed to compete. Matt sharp on the patriot mobile newsmaker line Matt, what does the money go for? Our money goes to helping represent these individuals. And so it is the filing fees, the attorneys time, everything that we're doing to take these cases to make them as successful as possible and litigate them all the way to the Supreme Court potentially. And that's one of the things that we found again and again and again. People reach out to us and they say, we can't get any help. The ACLU is not helping us know these law firms are helping us and it's only because of generous support from listeners like yours that ADF is able to take these cases to represent these families, these female athletes, creative professionals, artists and others that are having their rights violated their right to free speech and their right to fairness on the playing field violated. And ADF is the only group out there representing these individuals free of charge taking these cases and litigating them to victory. And folks, again, if just a hundred of our listeners, if you just take a moment, a hundred of our listeners right now. You donate a $100. We surpass our goal. So we need your help. And all of that money tax deductible, and if you're a first time giver to ADF, they have a generous donor who's going to double your amount. So we just need a hundred of you wherever you are to go to Todd's dot com and click on the alliance defending freedom banner and you'll be able to make that donation and again, this is such an important and worthwhile cause. Matt, we just appreciate the great work you guys are doing out there and it's an honor to be able to partner alongside of you guys this month as we raise this money. Well, we appreciate it Todd and we appreciate so many of your listeners that are supporting the work that we're doing as well because every dollar that they're giving is helping to secure these victories that yes, it may be a young woman in Connecticut or parents in Wisconsin, but it could be one of your listeners that happens next. And that's why we're here to represent every one of them. All right, so let's do this here, folks. 100 of you right now go to Todd's dot com and you donate a $100 to the cause if you want to give more that's great if you can't give a $100, you give what you can. We want to do our part to let Elias defending freedom know we have their backs as they're standing up and fighting for these young female athletes for the Christian bakers and the wedding planners and the photographers all over America. Matt, we're going to leave it there. We wish you the very best and we'll get you back on the air very soon. Sounds great. Thanks so much, Todd. All right, there you go. Matt sharp, cheese loop. My apologies, folks. This weather is killing the voice here, so I got a little choked up every now and again..

"Hi everybody, I'm Dennis prager. As a an introduction to my guest. I'd like to tie this into my work on the Bible. The third volume of my 5 volumes of commentary on the first 5 books just came out deuteronomy, genesis and exodus had been out. So deuteronomy has the ten commandments. The ten commandments, I'm often asked what I think the most important commandment is, there's no answer to that, obviously, but different times in my life I've had a different answer. My current answer is honor your father and mother. Because parental authority, the idea that the parents run the house and not the children. Is essential to the development of civilization. Every cult and every totalitarian movement begins by diminishing, reducing, eliminating parental authority. That is what the left in America is doing. It's a cult. It's a totalitarian movement. Every leftist movement in history has been totalitarian, since Vladimir Lenin. Not liberal left. And they're starting with the diminution of parental authority. The alliance defending freedom, one of my favorite organizations in the country. Is fighting for. Parental rights. And I have Matt sharp, senior counsel for the alliance defending freedom. On video and audio and that's your, is that your area of expertise or concern Matt? That is. We've been heavily involved in that, both on defending parents in court, but also trying to pass good laws that make sure that these violations of the rights don't happen in the first place. Can you give an example of an attack on parental authority? Well, I think the segue is very well with what you were chatting about earlier with the transgender and the national health services. We've got cases where school officials counselors and others are socially transitioning these kids. So this is giving them a new name, a new pronoun, sometimes even bringing clothes to school so that a young boy can change and start dressing as a girl and doing it without any discussion with the parents without seeking the parents permission and sometimes intentionally deceiving parents about it. So we've got a case going on in Wisconsin where this happened where a young 12 year old girl was being socially transitioned by school officials without the parents knowing. And when the parents confronted the school about this and said, we're working with our daughter, we're getting our counseling. We're helping navigate this. We want you to respect our decision as a parent to recognize that our daughter is biologically a female and not to sew these seeds of confusion. The school said, no, we're not going to do that. We know better than you. And that's why these parents and others join to sue and challenge these policies that are undermining from the rights that are pushing kids down this one way pathway towards puberty blockers towards cross sex hormones towards irreversible surgeries that we know do irreparable damage to kids..

"I have so many stories from that place. It was great. Anyhow, that's way off course, but my senior year. That dog retreat from the sun. I loved it. I think what really struck me about this album was the vocals, I wouldn't call them off key, but they're not like the typical high sounding vocals that you would normally have and they weren't like grungy rock vocals, but they were just kind of. They're kind of like Liz fair. Yeah, exactly. More except more melodic, I guess. Yes, that's what I always liken it to is a more melodic Liz fair. And I love the way they blend their harmonies and they're not like the typical what you would expect from blended harmonies, but they I think they do a great job of mixing it all together and then Petra Hayden with the violin on some songs. I think that's cool. And then the music itself, it's kind of like a female fronted weezer, basically. What? That's just a funny comparison, but I think I actually did see that. They're very tightly coupled with weezer, like the music I think. It goes pretty well. Yeah, I think. Plus around this time, both Petra and Rachel haden were in the rentals. With Matt sharp that left weezer. Started the started the rentals. Started the wheeze. And then at that time, the weezer drummer was even playing. So there's some of that kind of grungy just indie rock early alternative sound in there. One of the things I always like to throw out about the rental is a little piece trivia. One former member is my Rudolph. What? Yeah. Sorry, that was really loud. I just always forget. But that's equal to the shock that you should expect from that. Anyhow, yeah, this album, I, like I said, going back to this. I love it. I don't know if I love it for nostalgia's sake because it brings back so many memories from just a great time in my life. I mean, it was right before entering the real world, right? And yeah, you've got the stress of like finishing up senior year of college, but I think you're really in that sweet spot of, you know, I don't really have any full-time worries yet. Everything's just kind of good. And I can see my future and my sights and it was a great time. So having this music to kind of tie back to that is really awesome. But I think I also just like the music for what it is too because I'll pop it in and listen to it. Well, I'll dial it up on the Internet now. Dial it up. This is that. I just said it. So do you have it on vinyl? I do have this on vinyl. It was I originally had a copy that was a picture disc that was signed by, I think it was just signed by Anna, but they had released it and it was a little bit different versions of the songs. I don't know if they were like early demos or just kind of reimagine versions or but you know how I am about picture discs. So luckily, just a couple of years ago, they came out with a new repressing of this album, or I guess an initial pressing of this album, as it was, and it was on third man records, which is the record company pressing plant owned by Jack White. And they usually do a pretty good job. This one is not quite to the quality of other third man records releases, but it's still, it's just nice to have it on vinyl..

"Hey, I'm Cassie de. The host of wonders podcast against the odds. In our next season, a group of high school students and their adult guides set out to climb mount hood, the tallest peak in Oregon. But when the weather turns treacherous, the students are trapped in a whiteout and forced to dig a snow cave to survive. An elite rescue team sets out to find the missing students, but conditions are so bad, even they face grave danger. Follow against the odds on Apple podcasts, Amazon music, or wherever you're listening now. Matt sharp became the band's de facto manager. And even though he would go on to become a hit songwriter himself in his band the rentals. Sharp wasn't really a co writer and weezer. He still played a big role in shaping their sound. In part, just by spending hours talking with Cuomo. For a while, the band had some leftover fuzz songs in their set list, but sharp wasn't feeling them. That helped kill off those songs as Patrick Wilson recalled. There was a distinct shift away from shredding this. Mmm um. And I think that's what Matt was where his head was at at the time was, yeah, let's not be brunch. Let's be more like The Beach Boys. But loud. Cuomo got an offer for a generous scholarship at UC Berkeley with a stipend and apartment, even a parking space. He gave sharp a year to get them a record deal. Otherwise, he would take Berkeley's offer. Cuomo persuaded a club ratio to let them play. They ended up on a bill with Keanu Reeves then banned dog star. As a late night closer, weezer played their first shell, on March 19th, 1992. A month after they'd formed on Valentine's Day. Cuomo came up with the band name weezer during his phone call with the Booker that day. Weezer was a nickname given to him by his biological father. His dad wasn't in his life much after his parents divorced when he was four years old or so. And Cuomo had strong, unresolved feelings about it all. I remember getting letters from my dad and he was always it was always be to weezer and there wasn't he didn't use an age. Yeah, it was definitely a very emotional name for me and I don't think for anyone else. But for the other guys in the band, it's just a weird word. Like why are we called that? But it even ties back to what I was saying about slivers, just this feeling of being this helpless little kid that's abandoned or neglected, it was definitely the right name from my perspective. That night, weezer played a club that had been packed with fans, there to see wreaths. A heartthrob. Then and now. Every girl, every pretty girl in Hollywood is there. And we're looking at each other like, oh my God, this is so rare. Like wow. He's a movie star and blah blah blah and she played for a long time. So they played and played and played and played. And finally, the gun and everyone left, all the pretty girls went away. And it was our turn to play, and we just left it all on stage as best we could. Weezer spent a good chunk of 1992, playing shows to mostly empty clubs. With the same group of 5 or so friends always cheering them on. Sharp started asking them not to come on the grounds that they were bumming him out. The increasingly hive minded sharp and Cuomo were sharing an apartment. And Wilson and cropper were not invited to join them. Wilson was, by his own description, a slob, and annoying. He ended up living in a garage with no running water. Weezer recorded a demo that included a version of the confessional say it ain't so. With lyrics about Cuomo's stepdad, that made its down for shanti influence a lot more obvious than the one they'd later lay down in the studio. Scrolling my eyes box.

"Their sportsbook. A pro gambler placing a bet on the exchanges. And then checking the price on the sports book and he'd moved the price in sports. Without placing a bed on the sports. That doesn't surprise me. And then obviously you get stung with premium charge on exchange if you're long term successful too. Yeah, so is that how you bet then? Are you restricted to the exchanges? Yeah? And do you see that? Yeah. Do you feel that that is a kick in the face to you? Are the exchanges viable for you? Do you look at them and think? Oh, yeah. Yeah, exchanges, changes are viable, premium charges really annoying. But the issue as well with this, which we haven't really spoken about. Yeah, if they bring these additional restrictions and lower in the ceiling like this, my concern is, what about the liquidity on the exchange? If everybody has to do a hundred pound affordability, what happens to liquidity on the exchange? The bookies are probably love that, wouldn't they? But it's a minefield. This single customer review stuff totally needs scrap in though. And that's actually one of the reasons it can be kicked down the road on the gambling review because they didn't expect the amount of responses they've had. Yeah, they got 13,000, but then you were telling me offer that it then jumped again afterwards. So 13,000 people responded initially. Yeah, I believe that the gambling cushion asked people to submit, I don't quite mean when it was. It might have been December, around about then. And there was 13,000 responses. So I think that was probably the start of the delays, and then not so long ago. I think it was racing TV put out a template email to send your MP and apparently there was 5000 submissions to MPs as well. So government people in the strings there are like hang on. This is going to upset a few more people than we realized and that's probably why there's the delays. There's good reason for the delays because not just the restriction of winners, all the other issues. Earlier in the year, one of the activist kind of type groups done a I think it was a university study. And they studied 6.5 million bank statements with lloyds. And they come to all the conclusions that they wanted to. Best way to find out what study says is just to see your commission that really, isn't it? But once they come to the conclusion, once they come to the conclusion that gambling is bad and they analyze all these bank statements, somebody asks the question, so did you take into consideration withdrawals or just deposits or was it net losses as in withdrawals after taken away from deposits? And the guy come back and said, nobody wins at gambling. What? So you got the university study analyzing data to see to identify gambling harm and they forgot to mention that some people withdraw money from their accounts. They didn't take that into consideration. So when it comes to the single customer view, how is this going to work? Is it going to be net losses? Is it going to be deposits? Because there's whole difference. So just to briefly explain the single customer view truck as well. So this is essentially it's going to share data and I'm doing exclamation marks on a podcast who knows why. To those most at risk of gambling harm. I'm in favor of that. However, it will be run by the independent not for profit national self exclusion organization, gam stop, when the fund stops stops. Who are a gam stop funded by? Believe money comes from the gambling commission, which indirectly comes from the bookies, isn't it? I mean, the problem with a lot of this is there's no clarity on what's actually happening. They're kind of like the BGC of gam stop in charge of it. Things are happening behind closed doors and there's people asking myself included. What are the specifics on this? And they're not given. But I think the reality is they are not given specifics because they know they're going to get torn apart as soon as they do. Well, the gambling minister, I quite like the fact that there's a gambling minister. Chris Philip said in a statement that the establishment of this scheme is an important step towards protecting vulnerable people. Look, we've had people on the show before and I've spoken about how when I said, I'm recording this show on fop teas. The previous backer of this show went no you're not. Well, I own the show and you don't tell me what my editorial content is. So yes I am. To which they responded, well, we're not putting it on a website or promoting it. I don't really get a whole lot of listeners from don't get me wrong. You were a big help initially, but the listeners don't come from your site. They come from Apple podcasts, they come from Spotify, tune it in part being player event and cash box. So I went ahead and recorded it. And it was a huge success. Now I know that that was what mat cousin, I know you have your own issues with Matt sharp cousin. And how he's gone on since, but I thought it was incredibly brave and honest of Matt to come on the show and talk about standing on a ledge about to commit suicide, saying his goodbyes to his parents, who got there just in time. I mean, that is the seriousness of gambling addiction. And then fighting to stop other people from going down that route as well. We would far tease. And you see people go, you've seen CCTV footage be released of people going batshit crazy with optis. Like picking up stools in bookmakers and smashing up of opti machine. Because they've done their donors. But the way properties work and the way online casinos work is they're designed to almost play to the lizard part of your brain. To set off as many endorphins as possible and to really get you engaged in it. And in the same way that someone can become addicted to alcohol, the flashing lights and the sounds and the speed at which it goes, that's what makes you make certain people fall for it. Some people can just play a thought he wants and go. Eh. No, walk away. And then others just get completely and totally addicted to it. And can't get away from it. And it ends in disaster. And I commend him for doing that. But he's now kind of matters sort of now gone on a bit of a crusade about gambling. In general,.

And throw that into the mix. It's really scary. It's like those saw movies. Don't watch it. Don't watch it. But do read this. It's got and so your homes. So anyway, so we want to bless you. So for a $1000, you'll get everything but the hat. Exactly. For 2000 and look, we'll give you anything. We want because ADF, these people are doing God's work. I want to be very clear that this is not, you know, it's not just some fundraiser we do. This is about saving America. Now, again, if you follow the dots, there's no hyperbole there. A religious liberties being under attacked. You've got all kinds of people, I mean, the level of ignorance of some of our elected leaders or would be elected leaders is actually staggering. They know nothing about the basics of how America works. Their high handed, they're out of touch. Let me speaking of ADF before we go on. We've got some crazy other stuff that I want to share with you, by the way, we got Jenna Ellis coming up in a couple of days. Oh, yes, yes. Jenna Ellis in the studio. Wow. With her blond hair and everything. Oh, she's a lot of times, you know, she'll wear a cap. But this time, she said to her, people want to see your hair. You've got this nice blond hair. She said, you know, I'm in. I'm in. And not only that, but I'm gonna put it on my other wig, the one that I've been getting letters about. And all right, that's enough of that. You ready? Yes. All right. So first of all, I want to thank people have already given to the ADF campaign. I want to say thank you. You went to a Texas talk dot com. Maybe you called the number. I'll give the number as well. Top business owners. Some of you have heard bare Nell stutzman. She said, I don't want to create these beautiful floral arrangements for things that I can't get behind, like same sex marriages. If you want to have a same sex marriage as a free country, do it, but I can not use my skills, my God given skills for that. She's been put through hell. And if it's not for folks like the alliance defending freedom, she wouldn't have a leg to stand on. So it's an amazing thing. The threat is real, and I think I've shared most of this already. But actually let me what you really have going on is compelled speech. I don't have time to get into that now. But Matt sharp, we've had him on. He's with ADF. We have a clip for him. Let me play the clip. Alliance defending freedom gets over 500 calls every month asking for legal assistance. And the only way that we can respond to those, the only way we can continue to defend people like barronelle stutzman or Colorado baker Jack Phillips is through donations, whether it's 50 a hundred or 200, all of those go to enable us to take these cases and fight for our freedom of religion and our freedom of speech. I'm going to give you the phone number because some people prefer phones. Here's the phone number, and I'm begging you folks. This is you're doing God's work. This helps America. This is not just helping some charity. 8 5 5 5 four 7 53 33 8 5 5 5 four 7 53 33.

Now who's gonna stop you if you go to Eric metaxas dot com the baker book link. There may be others. But that one i know is fourteen ninety seven. That's forty five percent offer. The book folks. Nobody is coming near that. So if you want to buy multiple copies you wanna preorder multiple copies. How long that price will last. You understand that's ridiculous. beg my friends. I'm going to buy it get it now. Do the christmas shopping now because grouchy foul. She might cancel christmas again this year. So get it now early. That's right that's right. It's part of the lusa ferrying agenda. We can't talk about that. Let's case so. Here's the here's the point i wanna make. We are doing a fundraiser. With the alliance defending freedom We need to hit it hard for some reason. I know people are probably fatigued. But i want to say that if you give money lines defending freedom. You're basically helping yourself in your country. Because they are fighting for religious liberty. I can never stress it enough and it always sounds like maybe. I'm exaggerating. folks. This is the central issue of our time. Liberty in general but religious liberty is under attack without religious liberty such as we have had for these two hundred and fifty years. Almost we cease to be america. Now if you've read my book if you can keep it you'll understand that a little bit. That is who we are. We have effectively ignored these these ideas. Because we've said oh we're so blessed and we're so free well in the midst of taking her eyes off the ball. Some dark forces have come in who see things differently. And your average americans. Having to fight like crazy simply to preserve his or her freedoms religious liberty is is at the top of the list. I mean people are being threatened by attorney. General merrick garland if they did. I mean you know all the stuff you hear in the news every day. If you want to do something about it please folks. I don't care. I said the other day. If it's the widow's mite or the widows twenty thousand. We hope you understand how serious this is. And when people say what can i do. I don't think it gets clearer than this right here. If you give money lines defending freedom. They're defending our religious liberty. And it's not like there's a raft of these folks out there okay. This is a tiny handful of organizations. That do this pro bono. They take on these cases My employees katie madonna They have gone to eighty f- because of a horrible thing that they are going through right now with an employer trying to force them to take an experimental jabs. So like if you get a blood clot or you die. What can we tell you jam. You want to keep your job. We don't care. I'm just telling you whatever you think of it the vaccine. This is not america when people are forcing you to do stuff like this and if you don't understand that you're not doing your homework. That's a fact what i just said i can give you chapter and verse but not now we need.

There are so many people being challenged in the area of religious liberty. And it's going to be all of us eventually. They're fighting this battle for us. Let me be blunt. it's for us so we might as well help them out because they're doing it for us I thought maybe. I can convince you have one of their senior counsels on To talk about what they're working on your matt sharp. I know you anyway. What case can we talk about that. You guys are working on. Because i want my audience to understand what it is that you do on a daily basis fighting for everybody in america we. We just don't know we go better lives. If you weren't doing this we'd be different. America to be honest. So what are you guys working on right now. One of the high profile cases were actually asking the us. She's in the state of colorado concerned that she's going to be forced by the state to design custom wedding sites for same-sex marriages violate her beliefs and according to a federal court of appeals. Yes the government can't force her to create messages to create websites to speak in support of same-sex marriages in violation of deeply-held religious beliefs. I mean i. I just wanna say to my fellow americans that when you're on the right side you're on the right side but it really doesn't matter if people can just push you around so you have to go in some cases to court and what do you do weird you go. The alliance defending freedom is there. It's unconscionable in america. Somebody can say to you. I want you to bake that says i don't know. Think of your favorite offensive statement. Do your i hate women. I hate blacks. I hate jews. Whatever bake my cake. I'm paying you. Money bake the cake. Why should an american have to do that. Why shouldn't american after to create a website for somebody who's promoting something. They disagree with in america. You don't have to do that. The constitution says no we ever loses liberty freedom of expression for and yet it is happening and so if it weren't for lines defending freedom and you matt sharp. You understand this because you are there. If it weren't for you guys taking these cases and figuring out how do we bring them to the supreme court. How do we get our laws to reflect what the constitution says that we've we've got to. It's the work of the law and it takes place in in the courts. Matt you can you talk about what what Governor abbot in texas has been doing with regard to tr- trying to get an again. This is just pure common sense but we are having to fight in the courts for common sense that men should not be able to compete with women in highschool. Talk about that case. So i think a lot of people are familiar with what's going on with men being allowed to compete in women's sports. A lot of it started in connecticut with our clients. Selena soul and others that were losing out on opportunities because of a policy that allowed to guys to compete and in response several states have passed laws that protect female sports to protect fairness and now one is being considered in texas. and what. We're hoping is that. This law will protect every girl not just high school girls but also college girls so that a girl that graduates from high school to college doesn't find yourself being forced to compete against a guy and as you said this not only just common sense but science is backing this up. In fact there was actually a report that came out from a uk. united kingdom group. Today affirming what we all know. Which is that men have advantages over women and those advantages. Don't go away just because you're on puberty blockers or cross sex hormones and that's what texas and other states need to do is to protect fairness and women's sports. I mean the biceps that i have. Possible that the queen who is a christian a woman of common sense. How can she presided as she does. I know to some extent particular. Let's edit that. It's it's the kind of role that she doesn't have the power that a prime minister does but at the same time i would think that she has a bully pulpit. It's her job to to help. England be england. She has not seemed to weigh in on this. Can you help those of us. Who admire her to understand. What in the world may be occurring. And it's something. Americans asked me a lot is when they see the uk in the states. This people like me who are arrested for speech or lose your home or lose your jobs lose everything and it was the queen. Katie west the queen and she doesn't speak on this. She did speak out on the vaccine trying to push the vaccine saying it was people's duty to have the vaccine. That was a really weird thing doesn't get involved and it's argue to say should seriously though you can understand that in other words i can understand how she doesn't go down the rabbit hole of understanding. Why it's a bad idea to get the vaccine but on all the other thing is nothing quite quite quite silent. She joined the royal sign at think which is unfortunate because we really only have one. Generation of rules laughed courtesy of your export from the trailer. Park and meghan markle. Who almost singlehandedly has brought down the royal family. And i hold you accountable for that. "As you're waiting for that you're going to be waiting while i'm joe colonel with becca quick and andrew. Ross sorkin But that's really good portentous space type of music that we did have made the efforts that futures the day has arrived. The world's richest man amazon founder. Jeff bezos his brother and two other passengers eighty two year old mercury thirteen veteran wally funk and dutch teenager oliver damon a paid passenger blasted to space aboard. Bazo has blue orange rocket yolk pace. The eleven minute flight represents years of work and billions of dollars in investment for bazo space company. And it comes just over a week after another billionaire. Richard branson made it to space in his virgin galactic plane new shepherd the first human spaceflight for blue origin sword about sixty five miles high into the internationally recognized border of space allah and landed not far from where it took off. In the west texas desert touchdown. Welcome back new shepherd. I human crew all this today. July twentieth the fifty second anniversary of the apollo eleven landing. It was a long time ago but some of us were around for it jealous. You didn't see. I did not see it. A little glimmer and your somebody's is i am. Let's bring someone to talk about. The investment implications of today's historic wants joining us right now. Is adam jonas morgan. Stanley's head of global autos and shared mobility. We look at this space tourism. And maybe a bit of fun and it seems light but there are business implications to all of this adam and so walk us through sort of the way. You're thinking about this first of all. I want to say on the topic of fifty two years ago. You're right joe did happen. And the reason why the flag looks like it's waving is because nasa knew that it would they wanted the flag can be prominent so they put a metal strip on the top and so that that happened. It's proven we can see it even with telescopes. The business implications. I'd say the message to investors is pay attention right. Pay attention do your homework. But maybe you don't go out and buy the first ten or twenty space. Expects right away right talking about space today. Andrew is is like talking about the internet before the dot com bubble. If there was it was a very furtive time it was a lot of activity. It was important to kind of understand getting intellectually early and from a research perspective but understand the players the drivers the markets. The regimes like spacex blue origin china. National security drivers. But perhaps not perhaps not by everything right now but if you were going to be selective about it if you wanted to actually try to play this and invest in this if you really do believe this is the future and this is what you you describe it as the internet. A pre bubble. How would you do it. So christine lag who's mortar stanley's aerospace and defense analyst and matt sharp. They highlight a couple of companies. I won't name them all. But they highlighted northrop as their top space play around third of the business coming through space directly And then max are on the services side match. Sharp appreciable recently initiated upside fifty percent or so. Check out that report and perhaps they can come on and elaborate more than another time. There's a lot of second derivative adjacent sees as well including a lot of the names covered by my partners in tech. I won't name them on this program. but Expanding internet access to two more areas doing satellite downlink vehicles and urban mobility and flying cars opens up a lot more chances to collect data and monetize data and deliver content. So that's always the question. Which is when you get in if you're going to get in early there's gonna be a lot of mistakes. I imagine along the way there were a lot of companies you think of the pre dot com period. That seemed big at the time that no longer are with us and yet companies like amazon. Which today is almost seems preordained. That that was going to be the outcome. But it really wasn't it wasn't and looking even if you were late in owning some of those names you mentioned. You still did all right. I mean warren buffett that okay buying Some tech names not so early right so again. It depends on your risk reward. We had on your program before. If you're gonna get in right now on some of these moon shots pardon the pun. You have to take adventure mentality. You have to take really take the mentality that if you invest in ten that eight might fail one would be a dud and then maybe one. If you're lucky maybe one outta ten would be a multiplier or compounder. Does the spec model impact your thinking at all. I'm thinking virgin galactic and there's a number of them that are either on the market now are coming towards us it does it does affect the thinking. It's definitely something that people probably wouldn't have predicted. You know stoically. Space ball government in smart people in capital to do crazy things that were impossible until they weren't and now you're kind of getting the engine of democratic capitalism and the retail investor and the democratisation adventure cap and that's going to result in a lot of companies. That probably shouldn't be public that will But it will result in some successes that otherwise wouldn't have the capital right and so Again it'll it'll increase a lot of shots on goal Maybe increase the absolute we. We think it'll do is it'll be better for the technology overtime Then necessarily the average individual companies chance of success. If you know what i mean so most of these things might be white elephants but the tech will do very well but we think the importance of today's launch which is historic fifty two years again. Joe joe i'll ask another time where you were and what you were thinking It's it's it's a public awareness and support thing underwrite. It's it's china puts a woman on the moon that'll do more for. Us education and test scores and stem been any act of congress. Ever could so. It really is about national security and geopolitical rivalry but it's also about unity and humanity and celebrating human achievements. And i think the more we have days like this. The more it's good for the world The more anymore. It's good for business over time and just real quick. How do you decipher between virgin galactic. The idea of companies that are pursuing space tourism and to some degree blue origin is doing space tourism but also playing defense contracts in send satellites up into the sky sort of the enterprise versus consumer model absolutely so we like to think of this as think of the space tourism as the funding strategy. It's the proof of concept innovation. Catalyst the thing that gets you to learn about material science and avionics microgravity and sat coms and propulsion and all of those enabling technologies that then can make hypersonic point to point transport going anywhere in the world and under an hour with one tenseness co two cost per seat making that kind of thing worthwhile. The the the analogy to wrap up on his is tesla roadster remembered over a decade ago. Tesla had this roadster was under fifty thousand dollars to seats but it got a got early investors at chance to say okay. I see where this is going. I see the software angle as well and for those that.

Howard lee and matt sharp you know in the ninety day say franchise They have done that franchise right that audience just says i want more. I want more. And they'd give it to them. And that that franchise has lend itself to it. So that for me is what i want to create at ame. Is that show. That will be a lightning rod that people talk about but it also has the ability to just bloom like crazy. It's almost like i didn't realize it's already june and we have all these weeds that we try to. We just can't get rid of it. Keeps growing and growing and growing. And i think that's what an andy show does. At the end of the day our audiences are very loyal and want to talk and want to consume more And we don't have that right now. And i think that's what we're looking for is. What is that next big. You can't start with the franchise you've gotta start with an idea that can start that can hopefully bloom But that's where i think. Eat a we. I i definitely want one volume i want you know i i love. I love that opportunity. There's nothing that makes a a commissioner happier than be allowed to call up a producer and say.

"Is our Ohio Weekly. I'm Ty Higgins from a battlefield to a farm field. This is to the beat of agriculture today. In our weekly segment, you're going to experience the story of one soldier who felt a sense of duty back in 2000 and one, however, after a series of life changing events, he still has that same feeling of direction. But in a different type of field, Matt Sharp from Native Hut in Ohio, and I am the owner operator of VDs Ranch. I was in high school and 9 11 happened and I remember just watching that go down. And I just kind of thought for our generation like this is the time for people to step up. I left for basic training, and then I went to airborne school. Immediately following that. From what it sounds like I'll go down the Fort Bragg and get signed into the 82nd airborne and then we're going to I'll be back up for Thanksgiving. Well, whenever I arrived in my unit at Fort Bragg, The guy said. Normally, we'd have you outside in the sandpit make any of you all kinds of crazy stuff. But here's the packing list. We're going to Iraq next week. So I called my mom and I'm like, Mom, I'm not coming home for Thanksgiving. We went to Iraq for four months, and that first night I remember hearing a firefight going on out in Baghdad, and it was, you know, I just laid there looking at the feeling of the tent like This is what I signed up for, like It's time to do what I signed up to do. I've had bullets were praised by my head so close you can feel the wind. You know if I was six inches to the right it would have hit me would have been shot if someone's injured and they're laying out there where they're inspire. You know, bullets are flying. Someone's going to run out there and get them. You know that people don't think twice about it. It's just they don't know It doesn't even cross their mind that this could be the last decision I make on the services to run out here. To help my buddy..
