"Good to see you over there. How are you? Rich man. Good to be here. And DJ Mikey D is indeed nuts back in the chair after missing he's going to be he's going to be really fresh today after not being here for hour three. Tomorrow will be the same though. Are you here for all three hours today? All three tomorrow, relief pitcher comes in. I need to write this stuff down. My contract, I only pitched 7 innings. TJ Jefferson liked the candle, how are you, sir? I'm good to see you. I'm fantastic. I'm like, del toth works. Schedule. Great. Very good. Very good. I'm excited, folks. I'm excited folks. We've got ourselves a big time in studio guests coming up an hour number two. Julian Edelman is here a Super Bowl. Joel's kid. Most valuable player and also uses rare for me to say on this program. Super handsome. Doubling the number of Jews on the set. So he'll be here. Has he signed the greatest Jews in sports book that we have here? No. He once described himself as Jewish. But Jason putting out, I just don't know how much time and sure he spends. Much time he spends praying. Okay. But at any rate, Julian Edelman will be here. It'll be great. Is that why you're wearing your Mac to the future T-shirt? Chris. Look, I'm getting a lot of heat because yes, I did call Mac Jones a minivan last year, but like minivans could do drafted him after we drafted him. Minivans can still be cool and functional and so it's Mac to the field down with if we're talking about Mac to the future. Does that mean Patricia and judge are the terrorists that come in the very beginning? Yes. And you need to get in the Delorean to go Back to the Future and tell go back to the hotel bill to the dance until bill, yeah. Put the vest on. But after no, tell him to keep McDaniels, right? Is that how it's going to work? Right. Keep McDaniels. Because right now, the 2022 patriots playoff picture, it's beginning to disappear. Marty, they found me. Living in a world where Matt Patricia and Joe judge of the Libyan terrorists.

"Week now. Oh, Mac Jones haven't problems with the offense. Oh, who's going to be calling plays in New England? They don't have an offensive coordinator. No, they know who's going to call the plays. You may not know, we may not know. It's not like Mac Jones going, hey, is anybody calling plays? Yes, Bill Belichick is trying to circumvent paying Matt Patricia more because if you have him give him a title of offensive coordinator, then you're going to pay him more money. Now the lions are still paying him. So all this is is a loophole, a financial loophole. But the media ran with this, like, oh my God, they don't have coordinators. Well, they did this on purpose. Mac Jones is struggling. Okay. Last I looked, he won ten games last year, seemed to do okay. I know that Josh McDaniels is no longer there, but I would assume you would sort of run a similar offense to what you had last year. Same head coach. You got coordinators that have been there before, and you got these same quarterback they had that he won ten games as a rookie. But you would think that Tom Brady was still there with the coverage the Patriots are getting. And it's not like they're going to win the Super Bowl this year. I mean, maybe they're going to be a playoff team. Unless people are talking about this because you just want to have negative New England news. Well, let's cover the Patriots. Oh man, it's going bad there. Okay. You know, Bill Belichick doesn't care until the fourth game of the season. The regular season. People have said this before. He needs to figure out his team. You don't figure it out the preseason. It's usually the first three games. That's when people start to patriots one and two. Well, Belichick then starts to make his moves. And that'll probably happen again this year. Pauly give me the schedule with the Patriots. Yeah, patriots at Miami. Oh, that's a loss. It's lost. At Pittsburgh. That's a loss. Can't get past your Biscay. Home against Baltimore, but then I got a national TV game against Green Bay week four. What do you think? Okay. It could be like one in three, one in four. All goes well. Yeah? But I don't know if right now matters what's going to happen in those games because I'm going to guess Bill Belichick the greatest coach in history is somehow going to figure this out. Well, like Monday or Tuesday when this started to really blow up or Mac Jones and they had to have a meeting, a player's only meeting to whatever this and that. Keyshawn Johnson said something really interesting. And he was saying that the reason the offense is struggling is because the defense knows the plays that they're running. Because they run the same play over and over and over again. So the defense knows exactly what's coming. But by Friday of that week, they'll probably change up the plays and you can expect to see the offense running a lot more smoothly.

"Wasn't dumb for making that signing. So I think they could try to force feed. John was Smith a little bit this year. I'm standing like a little better. I'm selling Matt Patricia as your play caller or offensive coordinator. I mean, the guy went from a defensive coordinator and a good one or that's just Belichick system to a bad head coach and now you're going to have him calling your offensive place. To me, that doesn't make any sense. So that would be weird. It's a weird situation. As a bills fan, I am so happy. I'm so excited to see this crumble for that. Yeah, and all the talk on Twitter is just how bad the Patriots offense is looked at camp and I guess it could be. Partly a product of the very good defense they have, but this is the time of year where the offense should be looking decent. Yeah, they had their two decades to dominate everybody. They can sit back and suck for a while now. Yeah. It's odd to say that so we didn't really sell too many people, but you're not when we say buy, we're talking about late round picks, but it's weird to talk about the Patriots in that way, 'cause forever. Get your hands on Gronk or Brady or Wes Welker or Randy Moss. Now it's completely different. Times have changed. Let's go ahead and let's go ahead and pick their sketches. Did you want to alternate or do you guys? We're doing rob and I pick winter loss and then you are the tiebreaker if we disagree. Perfect. We're at Miami week one. Miami. Miami. All right. We are at Pittsburgh week two. Well, I know we said Pittsburgh was going to win and when we pick Pittsburgh. So there you go. Remember, which of us was the one who chose that, but we're trying to keep it consistent so that at the end we can have our division winners and all that. So we are tracking all of our picks. On a spreadsheet and we'll be able to tell you who we think comes out on top of each division by the end of this. Week three home at Baltimore and we just had them going zero and two to start the year. Home against Baltimore, correct. Correct. Okay. I'm going to go Baltimore.

"A few selections there for Steve Belichick based off the game install based off the game plan of the four or 5 blitzes that they like against that opponent. So it's a way of. It's a Succession line, right? It's a lack of a better way of putting it. It's kind of dumbing it down for the play caller where he doesn't have as much of that run pass or blitz coverage type of analysis to get into and it's more like, this is what we're doing. You pick the play out of the hat that we're running based off of that. That's a good way of looking at it. I think that would be really interesting way of doing it. I am not by any means ruling out Bill Belichick himself calling plays at some point on the offensive side of the ball. We know one thing from Bill and you can tell based off of this coaching staff. There's no actual title. OC or D.C., he's not going to just hand out responsibilities just because somebody's got to do it. Right. If he doesn't feel like somebody is up for it, ready for it, whatever you want to put up, call it, he's not going to put that responsibility on somebody that's not ready for it. So if he doesn't feel like Matt Patricia or Joe judge or Troy Brown gets into it or Nick Kaley gets into it or whatever the case may be, if they don't feel like they are ready for it, then I wouldn't rule out Bill himself calling the offensive plays in having the sheet. And I think that'd be really cool. I would love to see what a Bill Belichick called offense looks like. We know what a Bill Belichick defense looks like when he calls it, right? Offense look like, what are his true philosophies? What was Josh McDaniels and what was his influence and what was bills. Like that was always the tough thing for me was like, okay, like, they're conservative sometimes on third and fourth down. But was that a bill decision? Is that a Josh decision? Like, who's making those types of decisions? I think it's going to be really interesting to see if that's the way it goes, just like, what is Bill Belichick, The O.C.? What is his, what is his thing? What is he like doing? And that will be very, very interesting.

"But I just want to also hit on as an overarching theme here, Alex, I think there's so much concern about the coaching staff, right? And what mathematician and Joe judge are doing and all these things, but honestly, I came away from these two days feeling pretty good about the offense. And granted, these are passing camps and maybe they're a little bit skewed towards the offense, performing well and things like that. But I still came away from these two days and I said, okay, I see it with Mac. I think that they actually have some receivers now that can threaten defenses and be a problem and be match up issues. And I almost see it with the scheme too. I think the streamlining, I think some of the zone stuff that they are starting to incorporate more of. I kind of like what I'm seeing from the offense. I know that that's like a hot take because it's supposed to be a disaster and the whole building is supposed to be on fire because Matt Patricia and Joe judge are running the offense, but I see a path. Like, I see a plan here to have a pretty good offense. Honestly, if I have concerns, it's probably on the other side of the football, which will also get to in a few minutes. But where is your overall confidence level after two days of practice with the offense and what you saw out there? I like to receive a group. I don't know that I feel differently. I think I feel more confident in the belief I had going in that the receiver room is not the issue some people think it is. They don't have the true number one, but I think they're so deep that could play to their advantage. Yeah. My bigger concern is up front and we can't answer that. Like we can't answer that. They haven't been in pads, but once I say I went really going to look like it right tackle is Trent Brown going to laugh at left tackle. Coal strange still love him getting in scrums, love him setting the tone. I think that kind of makes him a great fit, but he's still a relative unknown. So the biggest issues for me are the and this isn't to say it's going to be a problem. I'm just saying, I don't know. You know, we kind of came into this off season thinking that the skill positions would be the big question mark. I feel really good about the skill positions right now. To me, the offensive line is a bigger question, Mark than the skill positions in the scheme thing. I'm still not in love with the Shanahan offense, especially if like I just said, you have all this depth. Shanahan offense doesn't facilitate taking advantage of that the way the Earhart Perkins does. So those are where my questions are right now. In terms of skill position players, I feel pretty good..

"And then Shanahan offense, I think he could play a role in that. And when you look at Pierre strong Pierre, Pierre strong, the running back the first guy they took, he's a one cut back, get up the field kind of guy, which would fit with the Shanahan system. So that's intriguing. It's also intriguing that it goes back to what I discussed with you. I think it was a week or two ago, Greg, just the idea that it seems like Belichick is doing what the hell Belichick wants to do. And look, he's got the benefit of the doubt. He has built the resume. But it really feels like he's kind of looked around and said, hey, if I've got a few more years on this thing, I'm going to do what I want to do. And so, you know, McDaniels and Brady and those guys might have gotten in my way of running more Shanahan offense. Well, they're gone now. I'm going to run some more Shanahan offense. That's what we're going to do. And it goes with the draft and what he did at the draft. And it goes with the coaching staff with Matt Patricia and Joe judge. This is Belichick. I've said it. He's taking risks. He's believing in himself and it's just going to be compelling to watch and whether all of this works because there is a significant amount of change, at least it feels that way. Will it happen or will they kind of go back to what they do once they tinker around here in mini camp? Maybe. But it feels like there's just a lot of sea change with the Patriots. And it's going to be very interesting to watch, and it's really Belichick standing front in line saying, nope, my team, this is what we're doing. I'm doing things that I've wanted to do the past couple of years and we haven't done it because who was here. And now it's just me. So let's go. That's at least how it looks. Let's talk about Patricia. Let's talk about judge. Again, play calling. A big topic with this football team right now. Patricia gang called plays in 11 on 11, Greg, Joe judge, was doing it for the 7s again..

"And there were four periods that they used to walkie talkies, map Patricia, use them for three of them. Joe judge did it for 7 on 7 when map Patricia was over off to the side with the offensive line. So right now you would have to say it looks like Matt Patricia is the leader in the Clubhouse of being the Patriots play collar on offense this season, which is, you know, we've been discussing it all off season. We'll see how this goes. You know, one thing that's interesting, I'm sure we'll talk about it more is, you know, we'll map Patricia should be on the sideline or will it be in the coaches box where he was used to calling play, well no, he called place. I think on defense on the sideline. So it's all interesting. It's part of the fabric of this year's patriot squad where we're looking at all this stuff. Belichick was mostly in a supervisory role spent most of his time with the offense and Joe judge most of the time was just with the quarterbacks. All right, so I have a question off of this quick here. Look, it's not about what they decided not to do, right? We're beyond that. We know what the situation is. Judge Patricia, Belichick kind of overseeing the entire operation. Out of Patricia and judge, not who do you think we've talked about Mac Jones having one guy in his ear and it makes sense to have that guy be Joe judges the quarterbacks coach. It would seem to make sense to be having him as the play caller. But just looking at the individuals, Greg, just looking at Patricia and looking at judge, who do you think has the potential to be the better play caller? To me, I would have to lean Patricia. I mean, at least we know he has experience calling place. Defensive place, but on the fly he's done it. He knows what the pressure is. It's completely different. You know, under the gun and if the other team's going fast, what are you doing? And, you know, that sort of thing. So, you know, map Patricia, a rocket scientist. And you know, he's very smart. He's called plays before as a defensive coach, at least you understand. You're anticipating offensive calls from the other team, so at least he's been thinking about that in his career. So I'm not totally against the map Patricia thing. I just, I just know Joe judge's track record. It wasn't good when he was receivers coach here. It wasn't good with the Giants when he had a heavy influence on their offense last season, you know, changing offensive coordinators and things like that. So for me, I feel a little bit better that map Patricia can learn and get to the point where he's capable of doing the job..

"Our next year, maybe you get somebody from the college ranks that has some of that new age flavor that can come on staff and help you integrate some of those schemes. So innovation and max long-term development, I think, is a legitimate concern. Joe judge and Matt Patricia being here, I think you're just kind of picking on those two guys because of how it went for them as head coaches. Yeah, it's not about necessarily that I think those guys would ruin Mac. It's that, is this the best situation for Mac, right? Could they have retained both heart rate? Could they have gotten out and brought back Jerusalem before he went to Vegas, something like that where they could have made it a better situation. I will say I agree with you on the Bill O'Brien thing. There was actually a quote about a month ago where they asked him about returning to Alabama because he had a couple options. And he said something about, you know, a lot of OCs have stayed here two years and gotten a title, right? And I think there's something to that. You look at under saving a lot of these coordinators stay for two years and they get a title within their two years O'Brien obviously didn't get the title last year. I won't be surprised and hopefully maybe we can talk about this later in the show. I think statement is going to be in a warpath this year. I don't think he was about to let Bill O'Brien out the door. I think patriots fans need to be huge, huge, huge Alabama fans this year because I think it becomes much more realistic that Bill O'Brien leaves Alabama next season if he gets his title with Saban this year. Yeah, that's a fair point. And I think that we're both on the same page here that let's give it a chance to. Like we're talking about this in May, like it's gonna be a disaster automatically. I think that's just based off of reputation for those two guys. Let's give it a chance. Let's take a breather. Let's see how it works out before we start burying these guys. And I'm not trying to go on my patriots footy pajamas and be a honkin defend everything the team does. We're all skeptical. But I think it's more than fair to sit back and say, well, let's at least see how it goes now. We're all skeptical. That's fair. But pronouncing it dead before it's even started is a little bit of a stretch to me as well..

"Although we don't know the official offensive play caller just yet for the New England Patriots, some clarity on the rolls on the coaching staff this season moving forward coming to you on Monday. I'm Evan Lazar for seal and S media. Bringing you our patriots news feed for Monday, may 16th, and a busy day in Foxborough on Monday morning. We spoke to the Patriots assistant coaches for the first time this season, including Matt Patricia and Joe judge now Patricia confirmed that he will be primarily working with the offensive line this season as the offensive line coach and judge mentioned that he will be with Mac Jones and the Patriots quarterbacks. Now, the pat's assistance both said that they will dip their toes in the waters of other position groups and have a more big picture hands on approach with the offensive side of the ball, not just specifically to their positions. They have not confirmed an official play caller saying that they don't even know who the play caller is gonna be on the offensive side of the football yet for Bill Belichick, but we do have some clarity on what judge and Patricia's roles will be. That's once again, Joe judge, coaching the Patriots quarterbacks and Mac Jones and Matt Patricia, working with the offensive lineman alongside former patriot Billy Yates who will be an assistant offensive line coach yet again for the Patriots in 2022. On the defensive side of the ball, we talked to Steve Belichick. We talked to Gerard Mayo. More of the same on that side with most of them saying, we just coached football. We just coached defense. We just coached defensive players, no titles, no D.C. coordinator tag, no play callers, talked about on the defensive side of the ball. Mom was the word for the defense of coaches on the Patriots staff on Monday. Luckily though, Patricia and judge did come out and were honest and open about what their roles will be moving forward sans play caller obviously, which we'll have to wait and see in training cabin in the preseason if we can glean who exactly is holding the play sheet for the Patriots and calling those offensive plays. One more note on Monday, the Patriots have waived quarterback Derek king, the undrafted free agent rookie worked out with the team this weekend as a part of rookie mini camp, did not make it past rookie mini camp, whether it was due to performance or work ethic or what have you, who knows, but Derek king has already been released by the Patriots, so that experiment and we did see pictures on Monday morning of Derek king catching passes out at patriots mini camp over the weekend among rookies. So it looked like the Patriots are hoping that he was going to convert to wide receiver a la Julian Edelman didn't work out with Derek king. He is no longer a patriot officially waived on Monday afternoon. So JoJo is your quarterback coach, Matt Patricia's your offensive line coach will wait and see on offensive play caller and Derek king has been released by the Patriots. "Bet online where the game starts. All right, so I'm just going to set this one up for you. Here we go. And let you run with it. So a lot of Matt Patricia love. And you talked about Patricia down at the owner's meeting. It's kind of tied at the hip with Belichick. People looking at this from afar, trying to figure out what the hell is going on. Grow is singing Patricia's praises about his pro personnel experience. He made, you know, he made Patricia sound like he broke the mold by working on the devonta Parker trade. On and on and on and on. What is going on with this love fest for Matt Patricia Greg? First of all, Nick, let me just let me just say this at the start. I have nothing against map Patricia. I've spoken to him a couple of times. I spoke to him at the combine and at the lead meetings. Have a good relationship with him. Have nothing personally against him. I think he's a good coach. I think he's brilliant. I think he's an asset here. We'll see the whole offensive thing. I'm referring to Belichick. I don't have an opinion on that. I don't love it. I don't have an opinion on it. So let me just state that from the top. But it was one thing to see map Patricia wood Bill Belichick at the league meetings and following him around, okay? That never happens. There's never an assistant coach there. It never happens. That was one thing. It's another thing to see him and Bill all together. And Bill also to be lavishing praise on map Patricia and how big of a role he plays here, all right? That was one thing, okay? I could deal with that. Whatever, I'll let Bill have a say what have you. Maybe you need to travel companion. I don't know. But the comments that macro had the other day, Nick, I've had it. I've just had it. And there were two in particular, okay? He mentioned map Patricia because grow was asked about his lack of pro personnel experience when it comes to being director of director of player personnel, which we've talked about here. It's unheard of. He's three years from being an area scout. He's never been quote unquote in pro personnel, which is unusual. All the other guys before him with the Patriots all had years of pro personnel experience. But he said, gross said, obviously we've got no better resource than coach Belichick and what Matt Patricia is able to add through his through all his experience is let me say that again. And what mappers is able to add through all his experiences with everything on the pro side. I just try and soak that in, put it all together and help make the team help the team make the best decisions we can..

"Joined as always by Alex barth and we are going to take your questions today. So as we get some people in here as we get some questions in the chat, we will discuss some of the latest buzz around the Patriots vacant offensive coaching staff. You don't even have to say coordinator anymore Alex. You can just say the whole coaching staff is vacant. At the moment and we can start there. And then we can talk whatever you guys want to talk about. This is essentially your agenda to set. So go ahead and drop those questions in the chat. We'll start the conversation here, though Alex, I think what has spearheaded a lot of the talk this week about the Patriots offensive coaching staff was Mike Reiss over the weekend in his notes column saying that he is hearing from league personnel that the Patriots and Bill Belichick could move Matt Patricia over to offense so the Patriots in Reese's Intel would have a former defensive coordinator and a former special teams coordinator running their offense. It's getting to the point where if all of these things are actually true. And this is where the Patriots are headed with Patricia and Joe judge and Nick Kaley and Troy Brown kind of running this ship offensively. It's getting harder and harder not to press the panic button on this being the direction of the team right now. Yeah, so my colleague Scott zolak at 98 5 laid this out today of what the coaching staff could look like. Excuse me. Nick Kaley has been promoted from tight ends coach to quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. Joe judge is the tight ends coach co running game coordinator. Matt Patricia is also co running game coordinator. He'd be the offensive line coach. And then you have Troy Brown coaching wide receivers. I just will throw out Matt Patricia's first jaw jobs plural in New England. He was an offensive assistant in 2004 and then the assistant offensive line coach in 2005 before becoming the linebackers coach in 2006. So it's not like he's never coached offense, right? It's just been too late. Yeah, I texted you about this yesterday and if anybody in the chat has it, I really couldn't I wasn't going to dedicate hours to searching. I probably could have tried harder, but I couldn't find it in my searching. Has a coach ever been both an offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator like defined at different parts in their career. I'm not talking about a head coach who called offense and defense. I'm talking about a coach who was titled, offensive coordinator. And then titled defense coordinator in two separate stints. And that sounds alarming. Look, I think it would be interesting. I think there are some unique advantages in that in terms of self scouting point of view. Defensive coordinator is going to know better than a lifelong offensive coach, what the other defensive coordinators thinking. That's why the Patriots rotate their staff around so much. Josh McDaniels started on defense, right? Before he coached offense..

"Remember Matt Patricia came back and it was kind of like, you know, a little bit quiet. Maybe that situation was quieter just because of how Matt Patricia came back after getting canned by the Lions and kind of walked back with his tail between his legs. So maybe that was why they didn't want to publicize that one as big as a new OC hire, but I think that they're going to take their time with this. I'm sure they already have a short list drafted up knowing that McDaniels was interviewing in the first place and was interested in the first place. So I don't think this took them by surprise. But maybe by I don't know, maybe by the combine, we know who they're OC is. I don't think it's going to happen super quick. Do you think it's going to be like instant or I think so I think the longer it takes the higher chance it is as O'Brien. Because I don't think anybody else is calling Bill O'Brien, you know, if it's a guy like shadow shae, if they're gonna go, you know, like a Joe Brady rat, right? I think there's maybe a rush to get that guy because there might be other calls for his services. I think with Bill O'Brien, he's either coming to the Patriots or he's staying in Alabama. So they can take their time with that one. So the longer we go in my mind, the greater the chance it's Bill O'Brien. Agreed. All right. Well, we're all sign off there, let you guys go enjoy the games. I enjoyed championship Sunday. Alex and I, like I said, we'll be back on Tuesday. We'll continue to talk about this. "The defense of assistance. Who are they getting the message from, what are the techniques we're coaching this week? How who's correcting these guys? What are we doing? And so to me, that's what it looked like on film, that there was a disconnect there, like, because all of the units, for example, and this is something I keep meaning to bring up that I keep forgetting about. The later in the season the Patriots went, one of the things that I saw that was concerning to me and specific the JC Jackson is he kept looking for the ball early. Whereas if you remember like the 2011 patriots team, a really bad lack of talent defense and almost won a Super Bowl, those guys, whether it was the ravens in the AFC championship game, you know, Sterling more against Lee Evans, I think it was the wide receiver. He's not even looking for the ball. He's playing through the guy playing through his hands, that kind of stuff. JC Jackson, just in the last game against the bills, is, you know, looking back and now he's jumping and he can't reach the ball. And that happened time and time again. And so I think there's a disconnect between who's coaching the coaches who are then coaching the players and making sure everybody's on point. I think that Bill needs to look at this and say, all right, we went through Brian Flores was our defense according to 2018, won a Super Bowl title held the ramps three points. Then it went to girard and Steve in 2019, 2020, 20 21. How did we do? How did we end up in those season? How did we finish? Did we finish strong where we all coached? I don't think they have been well coached. So maybe it's time I think it's time for him to say, all right, enough's enough. It's been three years. Somebody's got to be defensive coordinator. If it's Bill, you know, let us know that you're in charge. And I'm fine with that. I'm more than fine with that. If it's Steve, do that, if it's draw do that. If it's Matt Patricia coming out of the box and getting back on the coaching staff, do that, I just.

"Thank you guys still keeping with me here on the podcast after Two segments the first segment. We talked about college football with the ohio. State buckeyes being the minnesota pilger's Forty five to thirty one. In which ohio state dominated this game from start to finish minnesota was able to Create some tension Towards the end of the first half but then housing got into groove and After that the rest is history but after that After that segment we talked about the nba. On with paul. Millsap going to the nets and marcus aldridge. I'm getting mba comeback in what's nets archer front runners to Try to sign out if he is cleared for a comeback and then The main thing. I want to talk about without segment. with an mba segment. Is our ben simmons wanting out of philly Gnashing words benson's gonna end up next season in which at gio some cease force podcasts. And tell us what you think about. the ben simmons uh situation. And if you think he's gonna end up with the sixers next season or If going to end up with a different team so With that Let's go to the next segment and the third segment. I'm going to be talking about the nfl With cam newton on getting released from the new england patriots and talking about how good is mack jones and if he can really change the narrative for the new england patriots organization. Going forward here with the future so with the cam. Newton situation on talk about that. I so cam newton situation obviously on if you haven't been paying attention to the nfl that much Cam newton has been released by doing the patriots in this. I want to make clear that The reason for cam newton gave him release was not About his vaccination status that had no factor in the release That was reported by bill. Bell checks so If you if you heard it from here for some that they'll check Is sick of talking about that. And all that stuff that had nothing to do with the release of cameroon but I can tell you what to do with the release of cam newton on overall I think that Mack jones wild. The new england patriots organization from the higher ups in odors all the way down to the coaches and he was mike jones at least he was flawless during the preseason at the very least on hewlett a preseason drives led to a field goal or touchdown so deadly operate some eyebrows From bill bell check and thing but overall can mack jones chain narrative of Vizier and patriots team Well tested you. Need to look at maximums past maktoum's pass. Obviously he was with alabama on when alabama won the national title So he has a lot of experience in the bright lights and everything So he was used to that but at the end of the day. He in the thing with the new impatience. Training camp azad If you can play you're gonna get jersey if you can't play. It can't followed girls and that if you can't show up on time on meetings if you can listen to the coaches that follow through with their every word and everything like that they're not gonna make the rosser And i don't want to say that Cam newton did that. I feel like i'm with cam. Newton situation a had to be more so of redrafted. This quarterback in the first round with the fifteenth overall pick and we have cam newton who is trying to make a point and everything in last season on. Obviously it was a lot different than other previous seasons with the coverted Nineteen on the pandemic and everything but overall last season the patriots Did not have seasonable at at the home and seeing what matt jones did The president preseason everything. I really think that the patriots for rages to move forward with the future But overall when you look at their roster in they have around Mack jones obviously the running back situation during back situation. Like i said this division isn't really bad talented But for roy bags. With the new england patriots have damian harris of a james white In company with receivers Have nelson adler jacoby myers Matthew slater and company so not a whole lot of work with with the receiver core. But you still have some talented hardworking players at the very least there but the tight end situation is a little bit different Kind situation you have very good tight ends. And the hunter henry johnny smith in which he caught in this season the two best tight ends available free agency. What to the patriots. That tells you something about The patriots organization. All that stuff so with this on the backup quarterback for noon pages will be brian hoyer who seems to be more than capable of handling backup quarterback spot. He's thirty five. Thirteen year out of michigan state so overall The patriots made a tough decision. Imerese in camden. But the question for cam now's What is next for him. where can you go next. What what teams in the league can for sure. Signed cam newton. The hilby starting quarterback one answer to that in my opinion. I don't think that any team in the league is right for newton at the moment right now in the future in for next season least. I think that there are teams. Extra definitely look at him. The first team I'm going to say the lions obviously the lions have jared goff quarterback they traded away a matthew stafford to the la rams four gough so seeing this Seeing cam newton with the lions definitely be initialing sightsee He would be a better quarterback than gough may be. But i don't think the lines would necessarily be a playoff team or anything but no team. I thought about for a quick second inside Maybe once they're starting quarterback on retires He could be a guide to look at Might be the steelers I think that constructing word big ben is ads at is big. Ben is ad in his career I'm i'm suspecting the steelers to eventually move on from van sooner rather than later. Who knows if this is gonna be on this after this season which is why have new on the spot..

"Oh four to win the afc south as we told you in the last segment. The colts plus one forty tennessee. Twenty eight to one to win the super bowl. That we get into some player props. This'll be more interesting than md. Because you know better better players better players and a better offense ryan tannehill. Four thousand fifty and a half passing yards. Derrick henry one thousand five hundred fifty and a half rushing yards. Gimme that under for a million dollars. Plus three hundred. The lead the league in rushing yards plus four fifty to lead the league in rushing touchdowns. Aj brown twelve hundred and a half receiving yards. Julio jones one thousand and a half receiving yards so those are some of the numbers here again for your two thousand twenty one tennessee. Titans what are you thinking. Who absolutely fascinating team. Much more interesting. I would say that in indianapolis because indianapolis. I only ever wanna play one way and tennessee. I'm not actually quite sure yet. What i would like to do with them. They have joked in our chat. Indianapolis may not be awful or they may not be a mess but they have all the familiar symptoms of teams. That are mets. Basically tennessee has some familiar symptoms of teams. That might be like really really good But they have question marks just like any team. Does i will start with some particulars. They can kind of guide this conversation There are two things about tennessee that strike me as the most interesting and and that's not even counting the offensive coordinator which i think i'm going to get. You're gonna touch it because he had some good stuff on that before One thing that's interesting about tennessee is a talk about like culture or coach quarterback tandem. Any of that stuff migrate has been the coach for three years. This season He's gone over his win total every single year. He's been the head coach. So there's some coaches you just kind of can get a read on based on how they perform. I the market. For example matt patricia..

What you need to know: Detroit Lions vs Houston Texans on Thanksgiving Day

"Let's go into tomorrow's games. The first game is the houston texans at the detroit lions detroit. Lions are plus three Let me check the money real quick here. The fifty nine percent of the bets are on the texans and percent of the money is on the texans. The line just got shut out. Texans had a big win against patriots. started you michael. What do you think well. I think i got the injury report for houston for the for the alliance because they weren't the same team. My mouth stafford was healthy in that game. I'm not saying there are good tv. You know there are three and three the last six games but i think that they weren't healthy. They didn't have golladay staffer. It wasn't healthy swift. Didn't play if those guys are playing and healthy. You know that you've gotta take that into consideration especially against a bat houston defense which you play run defense really well as we gave up a tiny arts but they were able to shut down the patriots from running the football. And you know and you look at it they. They've allowed one hundred thirty two points to houston in the last five games and only have created three turnovers houston doesn't create turnovers and allow points and mvp and the shawn watson is having an mvp type season. He's averaging over eight point five yards per attempt. He's only had one one point five interceptions. I mean percentage wise. I think he's been really good. The game doesn't set up good for detroit because houston's too fast on offense detroit too slow on defense the concern you have if you wanna play this game is is what good can use to do against the the lions defensively because if there if the lions aren't healthy they can play well so i think that's the concern is where is the lions helped the factor in this way is i think from talking to people around the league you know. I think it would have been other week. Besides thanksgiving patricia lost his job on after the after the carolina he may lose after this game. If they don't win. I mean i think that's how that's how tight it is. I'm not saying he's fired on friday. I'm not sick. Predicted sanders a lot of conversation about that. Yeah i mean that is obviously worried for the lines is as are they going to show up and play Away from texas. I saw cooks out Potentially i believe i still. Kenny stills has also out galled as probably going to be out for The lines it seems like jonah swift is going to be back who he played very very well the weekend before and the Houston texans are number thirty. Two in the league versus rush. That is my only reservation. Though for taking the texans talked about earlier like. Jj watt probably gonna wanna show up to sean lock. Primetime time game might be the last one you know. We'll fuller's ver- contract after the season potentially looking at shop and everybody's watching you know. Yep but look they had a big lead on you know a detroit out a big lead on on washington they left. Detroit is slow there to the worst two-minute defense at all football. According to the kid that they drafted the third overall pick played only twenty four plays last week. Why i don't know i think. The biggest indictment of matt patricia. Coaching staff is when adrian peterson comes out and says i don't know why he didn't meet three weeks ago. That kids me

NFC West: Who will unseat the 49ers?

"So glad to be joined by Candace Silva of the rams wire as we go around the NFC west try to figure out who's going to unseat the forty Niners if they can be unseeded at the top of the division cam covers the the rams the rams who apparently are the hot bat right now to win the Superbowl at thirty to one what the hell's going on their camp yeah apparently they were the most popular Super Bowl bet of the last I think there's some were the bachelor come in anywhere on the rams won the Superbowl which is surprising because they've done nothing in the past okay two months to really bolster their claim as a Super Bowl contender in it's been a rough offseason for them so they got a bounce back in to see them as a Super Bowl favorite or not people will favor but to see so many people jumping on the bandwagon for them to win the Superbowl surprising I mean obviously they were just in the Super Bowl now might about a decade ago by our current time frame standards but it was two seasons ago and they still have the same quarterback they still have the same head coach where has it gone wrong we know what happened last year it in fact but if if people are buying in why would you say don't hi this is biggest issue right now I was really surprised that they essentially ignored the the office of identity try to remake it or bring in much talent really on the opposite line this offseason they refinance or what works best it brought back Austin blight who could play guard and center I'm so really they're sticking with the same group that they had last year there's a lot of competition really the only position that sat on the opposite wanted at left tackle with what danger what work right but the other four spots where they're gonna be competitions with Bobby Evans and rob Stein at right tackle Austin Blake and Bryan Alexander in the guard position is kind of just a mishmash of players who are relatively unproven at the NFL level so I would say that's the biggest issue switching Todd Gurley out for can makers they hope is going to be an upgrade at least hopefully in the in the explosiveness department because we do the regular Todd Gurley last season and he kind of seems like he's past his prime with the old me injury in right usage so they hope that with the improved often combined with these guys developing the younger guys and then a a better run game they're going to hopefully get back to their roots from the twenty seventeen twenty seventeen to twenty eighteen season that also supplying plan doesn't seem like a very good one considering that they're in a division with the forty Niners who I don't think I'm being a Homer here by saying that they have a pretty darn good defense of line like that that might not be a good match up for them yeah that's one of the best defensive line principality and you're gonna have it you're gonna have such a us a big mismatch every time that these teams square off because the defense of life for forty third San Francisco so good you got Nick Bosa all the guys on the interior Erik Armstead so there's gonna be tough match ups all across the front when these teams square off twice a year and you're not gonna want to right now in blocking these guys or Bobby Evans are often blight it's it's gonna be a tough match up for all these guys what's M. brings us to the cornerback what what went down with Jared Goff I mean I don't know what it was it all just smoke and mirrors in that Super Bowl season was he figured out I mean there there's been plenty of arguments I've seen a lot of smart people say listen as soon as Matt Patricia showed how to basically not bite on the play action it was game over for the rams they still made the Super Bowl but last year was not great is there any realistic expectation around the rams that they can make it jump now with you know maybe acres and there is the full time running back yeah I I wouldn't say your golf was just smoke and mirrors in twenty eighteen I thought he was a legitimate MVP candidates for most that season and then they kind of have that by the crazy Monday Night Football game against the chiefs and ever since then he's just more grass than not been the same player it was it was he was really terrible on play action last season which was a surprise but again that goes back to the office of line you just didn't have time to to get to a second read he didn't have time to to turn his back to the defense on these armies clashing passes so that a big impact but he's a player who I know they gave them a hundred thirty four million dollars but at this point in his career he doesn't seem like someone who's going to really master the issues of the rest of the offense it's not can overcome terrible off in one place so for him in the rams to really bounce back it's going to take an improvement on the offensive line golf getting back to how he was playing in twenty eighteen and then that running game coming alive and that seems like a lot of that on because it's it's everything coming together as a cohesive unit but I mean with the talent that they do have they still look really good receivers with concocting Robert wood acres and Henderson at running back our promising and golf if he if he lives up to his contracting really pleased the way the FHS quarterback showed the ram should bounce back nicely I like Henderson he came out of Memphis right yep yep he he really was under utilized last year yeah they were kind of well I wouldn't say stubborn sticking with elderly but he just didn't get many opportunities but when he did when he did get some chances he showed his show computer production yeah if you could once against the forty Niners last season to worry bounced off a few tackles and I mean he he's a smaller guy he runs hard and he he he also I'm interested to see how they utilize them with Cammy Kerr's

Why won't NFL teams hire minority coaches?

"Three head. Coaching spots have been filled this week. But none of those. Three coaches were minorities while the Rooney rule has been followed. Some are beginning to believe that minority forty candidates are not being taken seriously for the open jobs and anonymous African American. NFL Assistant Coach said that the League has quote finally shown. It's not the place as for black men to advance. It's ridiculous it's disgusting. We can sell tickets and make plays but we can't lead Shannon. Why isn't the Rooney rule role working? Well I think until skip this diversity thing yeah. Diversity is a great great to talk about but until you get someone the leadership position that says you know what. I don't just want to talk about it. I want to be about it so until you get older ships that actually wants to put some substance to this and this is what that you're GonNa get now if the general manager there's one general manager that's what minority and that's CR- Chris greer in Miami. There's zero owners that are it shouldn't say minorities. I guess because shot con radically a minority. But when you get the gist of what I what. I'm trying to say until leadership gets more diverse. You're I'm not gonNA have a more diverse hiring background skills. This was puzzling to be. Is that Eric. Enemy has the exact Zac job that Matt Nagy had negative and call plays any recall. Please man they can get the job. Doug Peterson sedinko plays true. Recall to play around Rivera's on but Ron Rivera was not the defensive coordinator in Philly. He he became a D. coordinator what's he got to the D. Coordinator in Chicago. You are you in San Diego. Yeah but he got his getting these enter coaching tree. Eric B enemy has the exact same job. That Matt Nagy Doug Peterson has and he's not getting opportunity is spirit but this. I don't really think that they go into it. Unless you incentivize this. Okay if you how minorities kill we maybe you have an extra three to five five dollars and cap space. That's the only thing that resonates with these owners because I get it skipped if I spent three billion. Let's just say I spent three billion dollars for a restaurant run. You Go tell me what the hell I need to cook. Cook whatever I WanNa Cook it there. And that's how they look at it. Jerry Jones spent money for this. This this mind you oh tell me why should get killed but but this notion that Oh and they brought Muhiba Marvin Marvin Lewis. He brought him in to to do that. Situation wasted the same with the giants the giants they had irebi enemy. They what Joe Judge Chris Rashard Rashard. Excuse me Chris Restoring. Yeah so now. Now we're down to one. Vacant Cleveland Reunion. I'm talking about how good already know. Angle get no frills JAYCO network skill. He already interviewed there. So you would now now the take my name off the leader and solid rubber solid. Take my name off the list. Because he's GonNa get Mad Max two and a half years if you're lucky that seems to instead that's all Jimmy can stomach now if you look at it they keep these. You look at Mike Patton. You look at all the guys they've had and these guys have had I think. Hugh Jackson stayed the longest at two and a half years. But everybody's been two years the list huge only two and a half two and a half long but you get you get these other guys you get pretty kitchens and you look at patent and you look at a I forget. Just give all these one year jazz. WE ACHE AAC CLEVELAND. That in Cleveland of the North this skill ruining rules a joke. I get it. You know minorities Cadillac. An affirmative action thanksgiving. Yeah but in -firmative action. I guess it's federal dollars. You'RE NOT GONNA get the money if you don't do this. The NFL is a is a private entity. So what can you do. What Ki- what can you give? Nfl Do not the so. I have been tracking this for a long time because one of my best friends is John. Wooten who is now the retired leader of the Fritz Pollard. Alliance and he was the driving force behind instituting the Rooney rule as I hiring practice in the national shirow all league and John's point from the start was I just need interviews because if a young assistant coach gets interviewed a couple of times times it gets reported in his name gets out there and if another owner sees that name enough over maybe a couple of years hiring cycles else maybe an owner says chee that guy. He's getting a lot of interviews. Maybe I should bring in. Maybe I should be more open minded to him. But if you're GONNA curse because if I get a a lot of interviews and I'm not getting hired was wrong why here the me getting hired cave liability with that. But John's point in the end was I'd rather have interviews than not have interests. Okay okay so let's go back to the stat that I use last week. The Institute of Diversity and Ethics In sports twenty nine thousand nine racial and gender report card for the National Football Bali. The League got actually an a plus for hiring of color. Assistant coaches right a sit a plot. Oh that's progress right. It got a deep loss for hiring head coach of Color White eight-plus assistance d-plus head head coaches. There's a big disconnect there and it shows you. That owners are fine. Oh hire two or three black assistant fine with that but nope nope. I don't want to head coach to be black. Right gives quite to the restaurant you can cook. You'll be in the bank but Michelle not the bridge. I roll up now okay so when I texted back and forth last we can use this last week of John Wooten just beside himself now. He is devastated by this this development his point was that only one. GM Chris Grin Miami. Point out is use. John's word heartbreaking because it could start with the GM right a black GM of or of color could be more open minded to say to the owner. Hey listen this guy is really bring him in. Let me let me introduce him to you right. The conduit to the owner can be stronger. Iran have I don't know six or eight black. GM right right. We've had them around the league four or but all of a sudden there's a dearth to rape Barma with Barma within Cleveland. He'd Gone Rick Smith who I know very well be in Denver. He interviewed for The Washington. Ashington John Daniel Snyder said head coach could be a head coach. Basically general manager after the Washington like who are the head coaching after the draft. The General Mattis. Okay so sometimes there is group think or shink sheep among the owners because in the end they do want to win right. And if they're looking around the League league and that black head coaches really successful they say well I want one of those. I want to go that direction right well. There was one black head coach who started to have success late in the year ear and he happened to be allied with Chris. Clear in Miami and Brian Floors off the Patriots. Well they started out all time badge for about what seven seven games fifty. Nine seven opening renders and then they basically it felt like they turned the whole roster iside down which they needed to do and then all of a sudden the last nine games they go five and four they upset the eagles and then they went to foxborough and just basically ended the season. I thought for the new New England Patriots playoff teams right. Okay so all the sudden Brian floor floor with the help of Chris greer. They're having big success. It looks like it's headed in the right drug us us but it wasn't enough of a splash to create momentum through the hiring process and right because John Wooden again texted me back with so many names he said we have so many in the pipeline. Who already started with Eric? B Enemy and Chris Rock. I think Chris Shaw Bad Year on defense but when I watch him interviewed when I watch his body language. It's a stunt man he's he's got. CEO Written all over him. He looks like a commanding officer to me. There's not enough black head coaches skip. Because because you look you look at Mike McCarthy guest job he hires the guy that gave him his opportunity coordinator fifteen years ago so you see the circle. We'll skip once you become a head coach. What do you do you go to the combine? You go to say elbow you got your drake. He goes to the coaches meeting and Yada Yada Yada and to connect with the boom boom boom right right. So if I'm not in that Lou. How do I get into loops? Because a rid of staff they said eighty percent of the jobs are never posted so in other worth people get hired somebody a friend or family member is not what you know who you know There in live the roof. It does house so to finish John. Bruton's list of pipeline candidates being AMEE. Chris Rashard Robert Sala. He threw Jim Caldwell on his list. Is Jim Colwell was highly successful zestful. Jim called wheel lost his jaw. Going nine and seven in two years Matt Patricia has nine total win and he's still got a job now he goldwell still doesn't have another job he in four years. He went to the playoffs twice in the last year he went nine and seven and they said well you know we need to move in a different direction. uh-huh and the guy that's replaced has yet to win nine total games in two years. Do you still own a still on the clock. Okay Steve wilks got one shot in time. I'm one year in Arizona and he was gone. He's now the defensive coordinator in Cleveland which probably didn't help his cause this year that much but I don't hear his name no in Cleveland right right on the list. And then there's Terrel Austin who's young stripes potential star coach and John Wootton into his list with Marvin Lewis who he thinks deserves a second shy right. Okay so Jerry. Jones did observe in qualified for the Rooney rule by bringing in. I Marvin Lewis. I think Jerry was shrewd operating waiting there. Because he didn't pick a young like like Chris Rashard type interview him because of Jerry had interviewed a young potential upcoming head. Black coach right. There's more pressure on Jerry. What was wrong with right? What's the problem exactly? He went to Marvin Lewis because he thinks Marvin Lewis is kind of old news right right. He got his longtime time shot in Cincinnati. Listen I still think Marvin did a good job job seriously. Yes okay he went. Oh and seven in the playoffs but still it was Andy Dalton Alton you re you with covering the NFL and you remember what Cincinnati before. Marlene got there was John. Carter number one overall. You Got David Cleland with the fourth. The fourth picket. You got big day to day and Wilkerson purse around the second pick in the draft year after year after a year people. Forget what I know. Marvin didn't win a playoff game. But they weren't even getting close to the playoffs for Marvin got there. No so I was disappointed in Jerry because you know my heart Hartz. I'd love to see Jerry Jones higher black head coach and I think I probably won't live long enough or Jerry will live long enough to know.

"Dan You talked about. How if it's only been a year? Sometimes a team will say. Let's give this guy a chance to turn things around. But it's been a couple of years in in Detroit with Matt Patricia. Why do you think that team came out before black Monday? And said we're going to hang onto him despite the fact that he's one In two seasons as many games as Jim Caldwell one in a single season before he was fired in Detroit I think the key is bob coined the GM right he comes from New England. He gets rid of Caldwell he goes and six out Patricia who knows from New England and he has sold ownership on. We can build this thing. Long-term here's what Martha firestone foreign said about her decision to bring back both former patriots quote. We expect to be a playoff contender. We expect to play meaningful games in December as she's referring bring to next season when she brings him back whatever he's told them about here are signs that it can work. They've bought whether they're correct or not. I think you know the former New England crew. That's running the Detroit. Lions has convinced Detroit Lions Ownership. Here's why this can work here. We're sorry it hasn't worked right away but two years isn't long enough. Give us another chance. And we'll see how much does the GM matter when we're looking at these teams in trying to evaluate whether or not they're going to move on from their head coach well matters a lot. It commensurate a couple of different ways one. How tied together are they did the GM hire the coach? And right now when when Quinn goes Detroit cold wells already there. You figure we'll cold well. It's not going to last because Quinn's GonNa WanNa bring in his own Guy Lo and behold that happen happen so if you are the guy that the GM hired that might help you if you are the guy that GM hired but it's going poorly and you're the the first guy the GM hired then. Recent history has shown us that you are the one in trouble and the GM is not there are coaches out. There that will tell you that. GM sits in the owner's box. He talks to the owner all game. He's the voice he hears while the coaches are down there on the field losing and it's pretty easy for the GM that kind of position himself. Like hey this isn't my fault. Let's make a change and try it another either way. I do think there are situations where you see more and more around the league where it goes in the other direction where. The coach kind of picks up in San Francisco. John Lynch came because Kyle Shanahan wanted wanted him in Buffalo Brandon. Beane came because Sean McDermott wanted him so I like that. Formula Teens are using now or they get the coach. I coach brings in mm somebody. He knows he can believe in. They understand the salary cap in the same way and can do all that administrative stuff together. I think that's that's a formula that looks like it's working in a few spots.

Chiefs hang onto perfect record thanks to last-minute comeback vs. Lions

"Let's start with the chiefs patch genuine this we can then Detroit. We gotTA GOTTA get into this trump to the fourth quarter undo to play. He's down by three four at the name. mahomes scrambles fifteen yards for the crucial first down later in the drive. Dr Daryl Williams punches it in from the won his second score of the day cheese. Take the four point lead one last shot for the Lions who played well yesterday yesterday but Matthew Stafford's hail. Mary is knocked down chiefs. Hold onto win thirty four thirty to remain undefeated undefeated can't even start with you. How were the chiefs able to rally for this win against Detroit. It starts with the back to back gold ago. Situations wasted where the chiefs defense was able to stand up and force turnovers yet crystals fumble recovery and you had to be shot Berlin fumble recovery which ended up being a touchdown. Everybody on the Detroit lines offense was asleep at the wheel. Nobody decided to finish the play. There wasn't a whistle blown ended up putting six on the board so that's where it starts for me but when you look at yesterday's game the Detroit Lyons had an opportunity to win that game they had an opportunity to take control of it because for the first half of that football game the lions defense played pretty well against the Kansas City chiefs offense. I mean you saw some of the things that Matt Patricia was doing some of the bracket coverages on Travis Kelsey. You'll Sammy Watkins a lot of men coverages to eliminate those open window throws. They tried to make it tough on Padma home so when you look at that defense they did their job. The Detroit lions offense didn't do their job and that's where it starts. You've got to be able to capitalize on those back back to back possessions with Golda. Go to stem the tide to put momentum in your favor and dictate the complexion of that second half. They didn't put the chiefs away when they had an opportunity tremendous point is for is Detroit's Defense and Matt Patricia Defensive Coordinator in Kansas City. I'm doing plan against Kansas City last couple years. You can believe he made a phone call in that first. Half Game Plan looked a lot like the first half Game Plan New England has had against Kansas City and the two times that they were able to hold Patty mahomes down amount so that right there that was very very good Detroit. I believe is a better football team that NFC north. I believe now might be the best division. F- F- Detroit is the worst team. Let's see Minnesota is going to do but tremendous tremendous playmaking by the defense I see I don't mind if you have a bad defense. If you're GONNA have a historic offense you gotta be either. Get to the quarterback or you got a bill to make plays force turnovers interceptions in fumbles and in this game those turnovers what were they were to save him with you. Give Patty mahomes just enough just like Aaron Rodgers in this prime if you give him just enough time on that clock they they are going to march down the field in those two minutes situations in score because you can't do enough things defensively if you give them that chance but the chiefs chiefs defense you gotta give them credit. They made just enough plays that the offense was able to add to be able to steal this win because the offense oddly was the part that was holding the chiefs back early in this game you mentioned the lions turnovers and those were critical turnovers in the most critical spots but the chiefs themselves fumbled the the ball four times and lost three of them. The chiefs had three fumbles lost throughout this football game that stymied their own drives and this for me. Detroit deserves a lot of credit for playing as well as they did holding that chiefs offense. I know they scored thirty four points but one hundred yard touchdown return. You'll the chiefs offense to twenty seven. That's about as much as you can. Ask Your defense do held them debt. Winnie for the first fifty nine and a half minutes until the touchdown at the end but on the chiefs side of things good teams lose this football game great teams find a way to win the Kansas. City chiefs didn't play well. They turn the ball over a bunch of times. Pat MOMS missed you. Were right about the coverage. I totally agree for the first time this this season the chiefs you could see. They really miss tyreek. Hill Damarcus Robinson didn't have a huge Game Sammy Watkins Nabet huge game. They could use tyreek Hill and Patrick. MOANS missed some early passes asses were guys were open but in the ball back two and a half minutes left down three even when they get to a fourth and eight. Patrick Mahomes sees the right play way to make goes and runs and makes it is similar last year against Baltimore in a game. The chiefs didn't play well and Patty didn't play great for the nine that when he threw a pass tyrod kill this this when he ran himself the most critical play after that and the drive the one that put them inside the five yard line he finds Byron Pringle for his second career catch which one of eight people to catch passes Kansas City right now. They're playing their opponent every week and they're playing the Patriots record like there's there's two teams the league that are foreign oh Kansas City in New England and if you you give away a game like this if we do think the pats are going to be fourteen into and we know how important in theory homefield event could be then all of a sudden your plan from behind the eight ball so despite not playing a great game despite Patrick Mahomes for only the fourth time in his career not throwing a touchdown pass the chiefs found a way to win against previously undefeated team on the road in Detroit Kenny the same way the Patriots were able to expose their the the rams a little bit last year. Is there something to the fact that the lines did the same with the chiefs yesterday sort of put out there a game plan of how to do it and how to get to the chiefs. I mean they he did keep Patrick Mahomes from scoring a touchdown Jimmy. It's a Copycat League and Pat Mahomes was working on a street of fourteen consecutive games where he had two touchdowns or more thrown. I mean he's one shy of Peyton Manning's all time record at some point. Pat Mahomes is going to clips that record but when you start talking about the Kansas City chiefs offense. It's not a matter of if it's just a matter of win and so when you look at twenty three games sample size that we have as pat mahomes being the starting quarterback in that offense you recognize. You're not going to win a game against them. Twenty one seventeen you're going to have to to be able to score some points and that's why you have a razor thin margin of error when it comes to red zone possessions and that's why I go back to those two possessions that the Lions had in the beginning of the second half Accu- have to be able to capitalize on those plays if you don't eventually Kansas City is going to make the requisite plays to be able to win the game now as far as the game plan that Matt Patricia employed. I think it's good for the Kansas City chiefs offense to struggle like this against that game plan so you're young quarterback develops answers when he sees those looks later in the season and as we get to the

Wide receiver Golden Tate heading from Lions to Eagles

"By the way. I like the eagles getting golden Tate. I liked that moved you like that move. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, look they've certainly had a need some skill position difference makers they've taken those hits at the running back position. Obviously, they they went through the early parts of the year without alshon Jeffery and some of the depth issues at the receiver position came to light. And so the idea of adding Golden State, I think certainly makes sense. He's he's tough. He's a competitor. Somebody who's got championship experienced having been on those Seahawks teams. And so I know the lions were wild about the idea of parting with golden tape because in so many different ways he fits what Matt Patricia is looking for. In fact, I talked to somebody there is yesterday. Who said we need more guys like golden Tate here. So certainly, you know, it's gonna cost you something to get Golden State out of the out of the Detroit organization. I think the eagles giving up a three shows how they value him. I certainly like it from the standpoint that you're giving your young quarterback another weapon to work with and the guy who I think from a Roma system and a program standpoint, really fits is a competitor. And a guy who's a fighter and a heady player. All right. Good stuff. Wanna thank Albert Breyer Monday morning quarterback for coming by to trading deadline. Few more hours. Thanks, albert. All right. Odell Beckham Jr. doesn't know if Eli Manning is reason for the New York Giants' struggling offense

"Gonna take over just short of their own thirty yard line to start. Also, an interesting game going on in Cincinnati today where the dolphins have the ball. And today might be an interesting sort of introduce yourself right on right on for the Miami Dolphins because they go through and nobody really believes it. But some eyebrows are raised and then they go into New England. And everyone went well that'll be that'll be the end of that. And it very very clearly wise. But I still am not one hundred percent. Sure. Like, I don't think the dolphins were as good as three an hour. I don't think they were as bad as they were doing the last week. And with the way Cincinnati's played at three and one. I think today will be a day that we learned some things about the dolphins. Yeah. Because this is in a turnover tight defense. Cincinnati. I think I think that they are going to pose a decent threat. This game is in Cincinnati today. And so the dolphins have a hill to climb here. Ten they do it. I always look at the first four games of the season. And we're just on the other side of that now and people have all these really rash opinions about what they've seen through the first quarter of this season. Anybody who knows football knows this. Nobody sees in his loss in the first four games. We gotta get through this hump this no October into November tumble where we get to see who is persevering we've seen it many times. Also, you can sneak into the playoffs with a lower record and make a ton of noise in January. So a lot to be learned about all these teams. Okay, James Connell. With the first score the day. He's gonna pop in from five yards out for the Steelers. What I don't know. After review is whether or not it's going to stand it's going to be closed as to whether or not the knee was down before he reached across the goal line. Also, it looked like Detroit just scored a touchdown. However, I think of flag just called it back, and it was Kenny golladay, which means it really ticks me off because I've got Kenny in bulk leagues. And so this just ruined my breakfast right here. Kenny golladay from fifty yards out. Beautiful cats in the end zone. Touchdown. No, just kidding. There's a flag may have been a hold may have been a whole. I'll say, yeah. I liked this spot for the lions today. You don't like this spot for the lines today? Producer lee. I'm sorry. No. I love the Packers. You know? I love me some Green Bay. You know, I love me all the folks up in Wisconsin. I just think this is a rough spot for Green Bay today there to one and one they're very banged up. They're not clicking. Emma lions at one in three and at home are going to be a desperate football team. And hey, Mike McCarthy give the ball to Aaron Jones. Those are my things I want to say about this football game outside of Detroit's first game against the jets where they got utterly dominated on both sides of the ball. I I really do respect with Matt Patricia has done there. Because those guys didn't quit and boy, oh boy. Field but Tariq hill game. Yup. I was that was low end around and hill took it all the way down to the thirty yard line of the Jags. However, there was a flag along the way. So not in the backfield. But something tells me this is going to be a block in the back, and this is going to. Yeah. All we gotta hold. This one's coming back, at least part of the way. And we'll redo I down so golladay and hill right out of the gate. Not really. They call it on Sammy Watkins, look when you have wideouts who are willing blockers, you love this stuff, and you really do. But that's Jalen Ramsey who is a physical corner, and he got tied up where walk ins and and on his way down. There was a lot of jersey being held. So that one goes back, and they'll be I in twenty instead of I down on the twenty. We did learn this though hill does not seem bothered by the wet grass. No, he he looks at Justice. Yeah. He. Yeah. Tyreek hill can run folks. I don't know if you've noticed this over a short time, and then F L, but he is extraordinary with the ball in his hand. So that is good news for Kansas City. But again, you know, the running game right there on that play. Just a quick outside. Play nearside Kareem hunt. Tackled with a two yard game. I think this is going to have to be a game where you really aimed to run the ball inside the tackles. Because if you're going to stretch the field left auroras should say east and west instead of going north and south you're going to have those situations where runner is going to have to get feedback under him before he can actually turn up field. Okay. I believe that touchdown. Indeed in Pittsburgh was overturned. So the review shows James Connors elbow. We're looking at the freeze frame right now. By the way, he's not down the one. He's done with a one inch line. Yeah. The knows that ball is shy of the goal line with the elbow down. So here comes third and goal from inside the one. On the nose of the ball is almost already breaking the plane. In fact, when I played center when we had situations like this just to screw with the defense. I would put my feet right next to the ball and extend it into the end zone. You know, obviously, those don't count as touchdowns in James Connor with a leaping run over the middle of the offensive formation Steelers. First blood in there, you go. Yeah. So that's what this game's going to be all about if you don't score on one play. It's okay. You'll score on the next one. We're going to see in Pittsburgh today. And now it's official. The Steelers are on the board six nothing with any PAT try on the way. And that is the first score of the game. There are many more no doubt to calm. Baker mayfield's about to take the field March will also join us next as the cardinals and forty Niners. Get ready for battle in the bay later today. It's red zone radio with Mark and rich on Fox Sports radio. Yes, sir. Brown.

"You may not notice or lobbied educate your what New Yorkers in New York Jets fans. Everywhere will feel the last night. Thank God for one time. It wasn't us that looked like this. They got beat us special teams, the Detroit Lions I'm talking about. They got beat on special teams. They gave up a pick six on offense. With Stafford, the jets were running and throwing a ball over them. They will awful. I mean, a complete total meltdown, lack of preparation, everything.
