"Again this movie interests all these characters but doesn't do anything interesting with them so it wolford grimly does nothing mccleary. Guess he goes on a mission. But it's not a particularly interesting mission and he's got one hand. Oh that's right. They introduce that later and that ties into the doberman story honestly. I thought those dobermans were the highlight of the whole movie i. My dog didn't like those documents. I'll tell you that. But when they start doing like tight rope walking. I mean the fact that they set it up whereas like you know remote. Goes up onto a scaffolding in this building. These like ha ha the dogs get up here and then we see two dogs jump up and pulled down a fire escape with their teeth. I was like i'm on board. I buy this one hundred percent. These dogs in tandem tandem cam. It was synchronized that these dogs jump at the exact same time it was like in john wick. Three were halle berry. Has the two german shepherds at work in synchronized movements. That's what these two dobermans did. Honestly i i don't know what the film is going for. At any given point it goes back to tone again. But these dobermans like that there is even a shot whether dog is considering going over the tight rope like the dogs actually thinking about it. If my extra shirts the dogs like And then low behold he walks across up. You can say it's like a matte painting he's will on. But what does it be the last visit. Want me to take it seriously. I know that's the thing it's like half spoof movie half. We want you to take this seriously because you have the moment where remo. It's like right around. That dog sequence like a rattler runs up his pant leg and he's pulling the whole like ooh ooh back and forth and it's like okay. It's like i'm watching the naked gun. I guess yeah i. I don't know what to make that. There's only one more like good thing. I wanna shout out. And i think i'm going to start wrapping up. Yeah the i wanted to stick knowledgeable like going back just to guy. Hamilton diamonds are forever has the same kind of issue. Where like it's super campy. And i think what we enjoy about that movie. And i look forward to tackling on the podcast is the camp value and just how silly it is and how it lives in a world of camp. The movie diamonds are forever. Doesn't ask you to really invest in the action sequences and. I think that's the difference here. Is that this movie. Wants to be really silly a lot of the time but then once you to care about very elaborately constructed action sequences. It's also like the way things that diamonds are forever. Show is quite cheerful and colorful. Even the layabout films that he did as well whereas that scene with the folks that whole infiltration into the place to do a thing. I don't remember is badly. It's like gray and black. You can't make anything out stahl. Well i mean in the eighties..

I think I'm just always kind of burned burned by the whole thing. Group of owners of con- exotic and then I just as the, you know, putting putting baying gears together with you. I'm still pissed off. And the whole thing. I just I wanted to make that happen because everybody wanted to see it. I just felt on the price on the price point of the Bugatti. I think it's what a deal that dude. God we're talking about the sink the one off, right? Yeah. Us crazy. Eighteen million dollars that dude purchase one hundred million dollars. Basically, you just let it it's just let it sit a little bit. That car is more desirable than anything else on earth and not to mention just releasing that one car wet what it like how it elevates the brand. Well, I along like that. And I want you to think about this. It's not like a random dude fucking cold inset, make me this car eats, the guy who put the whole thing together to get to that point. "Going to do to your ceiling. I like ceiling Matt paint, you can just use dead flat. He'll do the same thing. But tell me about the colors in your home. Well, I kind liked the topi- colors that I've got some Topi with some green in it, you know, different rooms, I have different colors that it. Oh, I'm not sure what coloring paint this part of the house. Tell me tell me when you say Tope use the colors that you see when you see Tope. Do you see paying her pulse? You see beige DC, grey and beige. Yeah. I see grays and the one in the kitchen is green. But it is like Topi green. It's and then we've got. I don't know contrasting colors around the windows and stuff. But and then I use oranges in blue in there. Okay. So Tope, and and I certainly I just want to also say that I very much appreciate your call and your question. But I always try to remind myself gel that are not just feed you, but I am speaking to our listening audience and a lot of times, and I'm not suggesting this is you I am suggesting though that people should ask a few questions because oftentimes they're calling something Tope that is not. In fact, it is a great like a gray beige color, and it can have a green undertone. It can have a blue undertone yellow undertone, but Tope has a pink purple undertone. And that's what makes it. Atop and so often so that color can read pink pretty quickly, and it's difficult unless it's really more of a yellow Greyfield to work well with oranges. So that's but the green undertone sounds lovely. So your question to me is about the ceiling, and I wanna follow that up with perfect ceiling colors because I think this is a great topic. All right. Hang on here. It will break for headlines here and top local.

Is it really? Yeah. It's like the the ship when they're standing. Yeah. It's just a big, Matt. It's big Matt painting. I figured that's what it was. It's so funny that like those throwback effects like still look better. It's yeah. I watched it. I have the four K version of it. And I watched it this morning. It's such a beautiful movie every about it looks great. It does. Yeah. It really did it so seamlessly with map paintings. And look, I know all the the lighting that the the DP did it's beautiful who has a DP dean Cundy like he did a lot of the. John carpenter stuff. Yeah. I went back in the original Halloween this year as well. Because I saw the new in the movie theaters. And then. Might have been Halloween night after Emily and ruby went to bed a put on the original just so great man carpenter like. Should do like a series on him just one of the true geniuses. Yeah. He really knows how to capture that that specific look. Yeah. That's good. Well, and a tone that he has feel like his work with the music, although he didn't do the music on this always thought he did. He did. I was watching a behind the scenes thing in he did like small pieces Diddy, the majority of it was the any more more Coney Coney app. But then there's like small pieces here. And there that he did little sense stuff to fill in the pieces. All right because I did notice a few of those and I was like that's gotta be John carpenter. Yeah. But he he basically has all the credit to more county, but he did a few things. Sure. That's interesting. I wonder why he felt like he had a hired out. I I read somewhere where he said he liked him so much that he used more counties music at his wedding. He'd is he just wanted to work with he just wanted to work with them. Yeah..

Mike now, their son of people over there for all this noise becoming from. But then I was like, oh these neat. Like this whole thing should be like an immersive experience like like this play should start with. Like how this musical should start with like how this would happen. Yeah. How the how the, you know, this guy Carl would present King Kong on Broadway. Yeah. Exactly. And that that could be a half hour because it ends with him getting loose and all hill break sleep. No more. Have it be immersive and just? You're here king. And you know, as you're going to your seats have the frigging ushers in nineteen thirty here to see King Kong. Hey, well, yeah, he's going to really show it to ya. Isn't he boy puppet didn't have genitals? I know you were upset about. He'd have a put whole either from what I could. I was happy about with those. Now, I mean, his genitals. And and like general, but I mean have his ass to the stage very often, but they were like shrouded in shadows. You know? So he gets loose. Right. And then he's running around the the biggest people didn't applaud after the shopping songs. Explain before you get into that the background of all the the entire show. The background of the set. Oh, it's. It's it's instead of. Like, I'm trying to think of the word centrist wing. No. Because there were set dressing, Tom true. There was a there was just a big screen instead of a like a backdrop. Yeah. Stands that what you're thinking of no backdrop now. What are you thinking of then, I don't know. Trying to think of it. Anyway, like the whole back of the stage was was was a huge screen instead of like, a matte painting or something that another thing would have had. Yeah. So this is like a wrap around. I max screen around the stage. So when they were outside it was like, a digital projection of the Brooklyn Bridge that you can see in the background. But it was all like, PlayStation, two graphics. It was like they made it feel like it, cheap to'rest attraction like they were like it looked like PlayStation two because they were trying to do like a stylistic type, look, but it didn't go..

So Don Draper as a new account, right? It's the Senate bites. He's trying to market the puzzle box. Why is it? We buy puzzle boxes we ever stop and think you driving one night. You pull over to the side of the road. You're tired, families, yelling in the backseat, go into the store, pick up a pack of smokes. What's that? A puzzle box, something that solves all the problems of your life or will it now I'm going to cry about my father. I'm sold on, but it needs a fun name. Like I don't know something snappy rubik's. You got this apartment, they start talking and she's like, yeah, you know, this is my buddy got killed because he was playing with this thing. She pulls out the puzzle box right that she stole, but the puzzle box. At this point, I think it's still brass or is it back to puzzle box formation? It's it's grody still this point because a few minutes later in the film to someone remarks like I think it's, it's Joey's like, oh, Terry cleaned up the bar or something like that. "Sometimes you do everything is so precisely realized that everything looks amazing and even though you know well there's got to be a matt painting like twenty feet behind those guys 'cause they didn't really real twenty acres and grabber and why what it looks so cool erica that i could tell you the thing that i didn't like is the fiery the fire is a dance i thought that was i thought that was super boring and that was the part where it's like why am i hear and then it ended and it was fine again the hate is not being dribbled it's that we asked me cells cells so there are those that is by far my least favorite part of the movie and it always has been like if i've never never really liked it i actually prefer to listen to this song on the soundtrack by itself without having to see that again i don't i'm not in lake in love with it but i like it much better with hooked pouf issue hole for the good news is if you get through that scene than those of all the for jokes happened right after them that is another movie that i sometimes check my phone i am all right well this has been a lot of fun talking about this i'm implied that i didn't ruin erikas eric is happy place so that's good i'm so glad you did an app every single time i watch this movie i find something new because there's just so much going on there so much happening like i never noticed before that you know the three rocks that didn't make david bowie's face which someday i want to win the lottery and have three rack like that in my yard but for that you can actually see that in the long shot like that it's like just a seen before that when huddles walking by himself in the mazelike i never noticed that before i've seen this movie a hundred times and a nurse at for the first time i also noticed that when they get to the to the goblins city to the castle there are two bottles of milk sitting outside the castle door the milk has come.

"Holy shit i just took everything for the whole scene whether in tyrrell's office in the background the skyline of but we know that's a reproduction of a map painting sure latest three particular matt painting with a little bit of model were going on right and so when i came to that realization i was like i was i fully appreciate what the film was doing fine yeah i like oh yeah that's a map painting but immediately made me think we'll wait this is not the further that we're not an hour and forty minutes into his film and they've not use the before and so i was like all right i could see why this is considered just in terms of special effects a classic now this film is not entirely now you that's a big part of this film but it's not entirely about just the special thanks go it it's about kind of the visual style in general and now this was at the top of the show called it a neil nor science fiction we do a lot of new war at skied a fund little subgenre but it's a very classic under one i i've learned a lot about and read a lot about so a lot about but to that kevin hold a lot of different definitions and they have different applications what does it mean any early nieto anything can mean anything it just means a new type a new kind of vision application of this and with this movie it just takes the littoral definition and it runs with it runs with the full steam ahead decker is literally always wearing a trenchcoat he's a detective you're are rather a detective or copright and he has to answer to an all time he police chief that in previous cuts said the equivalent of the n word.

"It's lst ray it's it is a tell us today yet what what it but i'm not really sure because at the end of the film it's revealed that like she has all these sort of nightmarish visions and when she takes the lst this is when the film goes into shocking colour for just this one sequence in fact they had to build a black and white set and they had to give the actress blackandwhite makeup for some of those shots because we saw this bright red blood of fortunately it was also shot on color stock so the quality of the film changes dramatically that's going to happen it's really so i mean i don't know if you could tell to a half every you could tell it some exempting that i suddenly gets fuzzy are now like what happened to her face which is why i would i would like rewound it this time to be like does she have black and white makeup on it so fuzzy i can't even tell because from what i understand the pain at her black and white and she blended with this black and white room i don't know why i don't i am not a technical press this way but they were doing tempting and cholera as england films i don't know i there must be a very clear reason to go to all of the trouble of late painting the room black in such and color stock life i thought i thought they could just make things red if if they have like us a like a still shot three of served serve a matt painting into sort of paint on the mad at photograph one single painting than it would have been okay but he wanted things like moving water and and characters that are had urged lurching up out of this like bloody sludge in a bathtub and if you were to tinge that it would be really uneven it'd be like in and with a marker so i think he wanted something that was a little bit more real and a little bit more szalkai gayle that distracted by sort of the technique this is also a guy who has the most fake rubber monster and world league i love it has until hero.
