It says that Travis avenue ends right at the national Hispanic cultural center here in Albuquerque and then Dolores was the continues all the way to the end of the end of the what was called rich avenue and now is the lotus huerta avenue. So those kind of things we try to give them equal equal representation because another thing that I heard is that everybody attributes that cep where they. Quote and there was actually the lotus who was that. Okay, should we thank you for that clarification. You're listening to native America calling, I'm Sean spruce. Today is Cesar Chavez day and we're taking this hour about farm workers rights talking about farm workers rights. If you're a farmer, how important are farm workers rights to you and your business. And if you're a farm worker, we want to hear from you, what kinds of improvements would you like to see on the farm and in policy? Please join the conversation at one 809 9 6 two 8 four 8. That's one 809 9 6 two 8 four 8. Let's bring our second guest into the conversation now Matt Nelson and Matt, we just heard Chewy give a really fascinating overview of what life looks like for a migrant farm worker in the United States and I'm curious, Matt, why are a majority of farm workers migrant workers from other countries like Mexico and other Latin countries? Yeah, in listening, I often am reminded that a lot of the migrant workers would go from even places like from Albuquerque to northern Wisconsin and then yes end up in Milwaukee and now Milwaukee has nearly a 100,000 LatinX mostly Mexican origin and Puerto Rican folks who live in the city. And that's sort of a product of almost a century of workers coming to Wisconsin and then like my colleague and mentioned settling in places like Milwaukee. I think it is, but it's roots, you know, and you had played in the intro, a raging instant machine song. And as many people may know, Rage Against the Machine sort of got their start talking about nafta. And nafta, the beginning of the 90s neoliberal economic policy is what created a lot of the crisis that Cesar Chavez or Laura sweat then others organized around. Java says they were organizing for dignity and strength from the depths of despair and what created the depths of despair were these economic policies like nafta that essentially gave all the power to the big ag and fossil fuel corporations that essentially were able to exploit millions and millions of workers both in the United States and in Mexico and other places. So it created this catastrophe. That then every day, you know, people just trying to get by where subjected to. And I think that and then the other major, major policy that has really impacted what you mentioned is the IR act sort of in 1996. Again, Clinton air policy that essentially created this paradigm around immigration of this ideology of punishment restriction and exclusion, and so the combination between an iron fist of. Criminalizing anyone who's a migrant with the giving corporations sort of free rein to exploit workers through nafta was this horrible combination that we've been continuing to organize to today. And I will say that in terms of identifying this day and of because of what I just mentioned, Wisconsin was one of the first states to have a cesare Chavez day and yesterday I was on each other's boulevard that connects two parts of what is a still very highly segregated city, but the farm workers taught us that you need solidarity. And that solidarity takes love. It takes love of our people, takes love of the land, and it takes taking care of each other. And so there has been long time connections between migrants and various LatinX communities and indigenous communities who have for decades now work together to protect the land and to protect each other. And this day is about that. And in sharp contrast to what's currently happening. Sure, sure. And you certainly have a strong knowledge of early 90s alternative rock trivia mat, so I've got to give you props for that with the Rage Against the Machine reference there. And Matt, I want to ask you, do you think the average American really understands just what it takes to bring fresh lettuce and vegetables to their dinner table every evening? You know, I do think that there's growing consciousness around what an essential worker is and what that means. Even through the pandemic, we now see our grocery store workers. We see our people who are actually harvesting the food and taking care of the land and we do see that more. And I think that can create a cultural shift. And we also have seen what working people endure on a daily basis. And I think there's also growing solidarity amongst people recognizing that farm work is very difficult. And incredibly necessary as is healthcare work. And so I do think we're at we have an opportunity for deeper understanding and solidarity, which builds cultural change. But it only happens, it only happened through organizing. And I think the more we in the more programs like this and the more we just begin to talk to about and with other people's experience, the more we can change the narrative and change the culture. Now, Matt, because many of these workers come from out of country, what labor laws are they exempt from that would apply to ordinary American.

"Native voice one the Native American radio network. This is native America calling, I'm Sean spruce. If you've eaten breakfast or lunch today, or you have a fridge and pantry full of food, thank a farm worker. These are the hardworking folks, many of whom are indigenous, who harvest much of the food we eat every single day. So that's our Chavez was a labor rights and civil rights activist who brought the tension to the inequalities, low wages, and harsh conditions of farm workers in the mid 1960s and 70s. Through protest and unionizing, Chavez helped spark a nationwide movement for improving labor conditions, protections, and better wages for farm workers. That movement continues and his legacy is celebrated every year on this day, March 31st. Cesar Chavez day. So today we're going to focus on current farm workers issues like immigration and the role of indigenous farm workers in the ag economy. We welcome you to join our discussion. Our farm worker issues a concern of yours. Do farm worker issues affect your work in agriculture. Give us a call, one 809 9 6 two 8 four 8. That's one 809 9 native. Joining us today from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is Chewy, Martinez. He's a cultural activist and cofounder of the recorded a Cesar Chavez committee. Welcome to native America calling chewie. Good morning, Sean. Thank you for the invite. Absolutely. And thanks for that introduction. You're perfectly right about. I pronounced it well. Yes. Thank you, chewie. Thank you. It makes me feel good to hear that. Joining us for a Milwaukee Wisconsin is Matt Nelson. He's the executive director of present day dot org, an online organization advancing social justice. Welcome to native America calling as well Matt. Glad to be here. And joining us from Albuquerque, New Mexico, is Felipe. He's a workers rights attorney at the New Mexico center on law and poverty. Felipe welcome to the show. Thank you, Sean. Thank you for having us. You bet. Let's start off with cisar Chavez. Is it possible to understate his role in what we know of today as the farm labor movement? Well, you know, there's so much so much to it that it would be, it would take a couple of books to really, really understand all the things that he's done and influences. This is a lot of the people in the history books and also in the media always talk about the overall the bigger part of, but there was a lot of small little things that he went through that people that aren't covered. Some of us that grew up in the fields and grew up in the union, especially we know firsthand a lot of the things that happened during those times. But you're right, it's almost impossible to equate everything. And one conversation even when did Cesar Chavez become an activist for farm workers rights. Well, this was after he got back from the service. He was just on the service and also seeing how bad it was in his own state and Arizona. That's when he started organizing or seeing the need for organizations and they had to move to California because of the same thing the problems with poverty and we have to remember he grew up close to the WPA or the work and poverty and. Guarantee depression. So it was a lot of even worse than that is now, especially in the fields and back to remember around those times it was also after the Brazil program, it was a big gap there was there needed to be a filled in the agricultural industry. So here, that's how he started. And then later on, we're joined by the lotus worker who we know as equal to the first. Certainly, certainly, and this topic hits close to home because you were a farm worker yourself. What is that life like? Well, you know, we were migrant workers, which is different than a farm workers. Some workers that lived on that little town and they go and work in the farm, come back home. Migrant workers, we follow the crops, in fact, you were talking about Wisconsin. We spent some time in Wisconsin when I was young. And then later on in my life and my organizing days, I spent some time in Wisconsin. From work was all over, it's all over the country. From California all the way to Florida, Wisconsin, Minnesota. I mean, you name it. There's a farm workers everywhere, but I was part of the migrant worker families. Migrant worker. So your family, from the time you were a young child, I presume would follow the seasons would follow the crops. What parts of the country did you live in? And working. Well, South Texas West Texas, New Mexico. California, the Idaho, we were in Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, Florida. Wow. That's pretty much all over the map..

"He's going to miss at least three weeks, the rookie tackle tennis tools going to move from right tackle the left tackle and the plugging Matt Nelson, a backup at right tackle. This is the debut of Jared Goff in the starting quarterback role after the Lions traded Matthew Stafford to the ram his weapons, though very limited lions going to be without their top three receivers from last season. Of course, that's highlighted. By the departure of Marvin Jones, and the Cabinet is still bear it and not get restocked with any true go to threats. Expect tight and TJ Hockenson to get a ton of what's again. He shined as one of the top tight ends. In the league during his sophomore season last year, Zack and after a successful rookie season running back DeAndre Swift is going to be the featured back, which Jamal Williams spelling him now a much better feeling. If you're a San Francisco fan Affected to be one of the most improved teams in the league after winning six games a year ago. Look Rapallo with sideline for 10 games with ankle ailments. They have legitimate Super Bowl hopes this year and are at the top of the second tier of teams behind Tampa Bay. I heard you talking to the betting guy a moment ago Tampa Bay and that 6 50 to minus 700 arrange to win the Super Bowl, and then you look at the NFC teams behind them, and it's Packers and 49 ers that around the 13 1400 area spectacle compete for the NFC Crown, though, do the 49 ers. They're 22 8 with Garoppolo under center and just seven and 27 with other quarterbacks since Kyle Shanahan took over in 2017 good matchup for San Francisco to Zach 49 ers. Have actually won their last four games in which they faced your golf and other quarterback situation, obviously, in better hands with Garoppolo, who has George Kittle, who, by the way, like Detroit, TJ Hawkinson is a former Iowa Hawkeye tight end and, of course, running back For he. Most are set for big seasons with Garoppolo back under center third overall pick from this spring's draft quarterback Trey Lance, you mentioned him is suiting up. Of course, he's the only backup quarterback on the roster. They don't carry a third. He shouldn't make a cameo. Some point, obviously coming into this game with a finger injury, but during warm up look really good. Moving and throwing wouldn't be surprised if he made a cameo at some point, by the way. He was the first round pick the 2nd 3rd round pick for the 49 ers this year are inactive today. Second round running back Trey sermon was a big surprise. He was not on the injured list at all. Not dressing up. And, of course, third round pick a guard Aaron Banks I believe is injured. He is also an active today. So that's the story here from Ford Field where we kick off the top of the hour, and we'll keep on talking to Danny Cap throughout the day. Next stop Cardinals at the Titans. All looks are going to be at this new Titans offense with Julio Jones coming Over a J. Brown. So there, Ryan Tannehill. And Derrick Henry. Welcome in Brant Douglas, who gets to set for Cardinals and Tennessee Branco ahead. Zach. Thanks a lot. First of all as you mentioned the Titans offense, hoping to find some chemistry because Julio Jones did not practice a lot during the preseason, and about the time he was ready to start coming back and practicing full war, Ryan Tannehill had to sit out several practices. Because of Covid protocols, and AJ Brown also was not quite a full speed, so the offense hasn't been on the field. Yet. At least the offense were hoping to see for the Tennessee Titans and you mentioned Derrick Henry coming off as 2000 yards rushing season. A lot of questions of Will the extra passing attack be able to make it possible for him to run the ball more and have more openings. Or will the teams continue to key on him and forced Tannehill to connect with AJ Brown, along with Julio Jones? The big question for the Titans coming into this year? Was the defense last year. Third down along was kind of a nightmare scenario for the Titans as they lead the league. Basically, in getting up third down conversions in the preseason, the Titans defense looked very strong. They only give up 19% of their downs. But for the Titans, the big question has been in several years. The secondary hopefully adding the likes of Jackrabbit Jones is going to help out and then but do pre on the pass rush as well. And then for the Titans on the kicking game been a bit of an adventure in the preseason. Their primary kicker Sam Thicken is now on injured reserve. Michael badly has come in. He's played for two or three different teams over the years and badge Lee seems to be in mid season form. He did hit a 58 yarder. In warm ups. As for the Cardinals, it's the Kyler Murray show, which is what you might expect that Kyler Murray leading this team and rushing last season. He does have several other offenses in which that he can give information to And like, Brian said, and we'll move on here as we have a little bit of a phone issue. You look at that defense for Tennessee big concern last year, putting pressure on the quarterback and getting off the field. Well, you don't get an easy task today with the Cardinals offense featuring Kyler Murray and obviously DeAndre Hopkins, go to the Rooster next, and Chris Russell, who's standing by As the Chargers get set to go up against Washington's football team, and Chris Ryan Fitzpatrick. Is this going to be the year he finally makes an appearance in the postseason? Well, yes. And first of all, Good afternoon, my friend appreciate you having me on. I think I think the Washington football team is a playoff contender. You know? I mean, I could even 9 10 wins. I don't see much less than eight. Yeah, I would tell you this, Jack. I mean, you know, look, he's never made it. Obviously in his career, as you alluded to, he's been on now. This is number, you know, Team number nine. But even without Curtis Samuel in the lineup, and he'll be on IR here for the first three games, he was their big offense free Agent Edition. I don't think Ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan Fitzpatrick has pretty much confirmed this has ever played with this kind of talent around him. Antonio Gibson, Terry McLaurin Logan Thomas, who was a big breakout last year. Um, you know, I mean, obviously, Samuel was part of the plan. Third round pick the Ami Brown. He's got vertical and deep speed. Um, and even really Adam Humphries, their slot receiver who he played with in Tampa and had a very good connection..

But, um Yeah, guys, you know that we've had on the show. Um They're just awesome, right? I don't think I've ever want. We've had one guess where they came in. It's like If you do, I'll never bring up name to name, but, yeah, uh, it's like, no, I don't think so kind of rubbed me the wrong way like everybody's been awesome. Uh, one of our favorites. Big Mark will be coming up in about 12 minutes from now, folks, So stay tuned for that. Let's talk about this injury report. Ryan because there's a lot of names on there, but a lot of red for the lions, right. I are questionable. Taylor Decker is the last one yesterday. He's gonna be out for a month. Wow. It looks like Matt Nelson is taking his spot at left tackle. Yeah, that's gonna be interesting, because they might, uh, they might put that, uh, we will, kid, but we just picked up in the first round. I won't be surprised if that if they put them there and that spot because that was his position in college. They moved him to right tackle. Um Yeah, because it does it says Matt Nelson is initial backup for right tackle. So okay, So why not just change them? Right? Right. That'll be interesting. Um, and I hope that the run game can get going. You know that? Have you seen that DeAndre Swift rumor that's going around right now. I'm not. I think I've heard a little bit about it, but not enough to you know, I think it's all just I think it's all you know. Yeah. Wishy washy stuff that some Internet troll put out there, Um, said he's like under police investigation. Okay, That's what I heard. It's a Anything Somebody has done. Careful yesterday. He was like, I don't know. Like, what are you talking about? Um So countries swift. He's good, though, right? He's healthy, right. He's playing. He's playing. I don't know if there's a snap restriction on him or what, Uh he is playing tomorrow. There's no there's no police investigations. That's OK. Plus the groin is healed up. So it looks like 200. A swift will be on the field tomorrow. We need him. We didn't have never been in a bad another guy. Uh, with the A lot of eyes on him. Is Jeff a Cuda? He needs to have A step forward this year because you can't go number three overall and have zero impact your first two years. I know it's a long process to adjust from, you know, corner from college to go in the game, the best guys in the world. Um In the NFL, But Jeffrey Coulda made zero progress last season, so he needs to have he needs to go out firing tomorrow. Yeah. Crew was looking like Vincent Gray. So you've gotta he's gotta fix it up. But a new coaching staff, I think should really help them. Um Patricia put him in terrible places last year on the field and that just Absolutely wrecked his confidence. So I think with this new staff, he should, uh, definitely step up his game from last year. DeAndre Hopkins last year in Arizona, you put them on Adam's Adam's in Green Bay. Uh, Justin Jefferson and Minnesota starting with everybody's best players. What are you doing? Yeah, coverage was so bad anyway. Like you can't just put him out there on an island. They put them on an island. There's no safety help. The whole season are far away. Uh, And will Harris probably the two words safeties in the national Football are still starting tomorrow. There are starting safeties tomorrow. Like Well. Harris was a third round pick out of Boston College two years ago. And they said he's the hardest hitting safety in college football. I haven't seen I haven't seen him hit anybody, Um So maybe 10 maybe met Patricia Really? Was this bad like, I think I think he was just so bad. How bad is it that we all know that Matt Patricia was awful? But maybe Just maybe folks. Matt Patricia was almost worse than we all thought like it was worse than Iraq. Man, Jeff Dakota like a really good football player that the coaches just diminished and mentally messing up. Look where he came from. He came from Ohio State Ryan Day, a great coach, great coordinators, and he dominated so I think it definitely was a coaching. From Because the guys are you guys are great athlete, Jeffrey Cuda..

I should really say best of the rescuers it's just the rest and they're all bad But in this segment game is such kaelin. Stephen will give me one of the remaining games. I will do my best to give them one. Good reason to watch the games and they will they will then adjudicate and they will tell me whether or not the reason was sufficient for them to turn the game on. I expect to lose more than i win. But i will make valiant efforts nonetheless. We have six games left on the slate. Where do you wanna start. Let's start with your eagle's actually. This was the hardest one which was probably too close to the eagles If he was playing the atlanta falcons at one o'clock. Here's piers myself. You ready you ever wondered what would what would look like if to. Nfl teams had absolutely no money to spend at all and had to fuel the team regardless. This is the game to watch for you like the. Nfl just stopped cap. Space eagles falcons week one. We're just everybody's just on the team on one year deals and no one knows whether they're okay. Well that that's a funny selling point. You also had the smith and cal pits. Man like and what subaru right. Like exciting rookies new head coaches. It should be to fan bases. Who are like we're looking up like. We have new staffs and young players. Eagles falcons fan. They're very fan basis. In general they are really low. Points right now. The falcons were playing rocky today during practice. Which is interesting. Because that's your opponent. And harry lyles of espn is a classic a big atlanta guy. Big falcons fan just at all right. We got a week to. We're we're trying to get the playlists right next week. Fellas that's aright. Now is yeah. That's those those fan bases are at no the the fact that these are two poverty. Franchises is not going to get you to watch. You have failed then we can. We can look sound drop like a buzzer like earn elsa vote. Now i wanna next. Vikings bengals can gain this. I've got to two options for you. Now you can pick and choose low. Grab bag situation. One maybe angry zimmer if you guys saw the preseason game where the vikings been absolutely just murder by the broncos and zimmerli like thirty five starters. I don't know what he thought was going to happen. And they talked to him at halftime. they're like. Hey how do you feel. He's like angry. I hate everything. All the things are bad. He just went off about horrible. The vikings performance was. We might get angry. Zimmer always good reason to watch also you were talking about broncos fan base mel bounds the jomar chase bengals dropped situation has really got cincinnati fan base up in. It's busy on so jomar. Chase is either going to catch the first pass thrown to him and bengals fans are gonna take a massive lap. Or and this get stephen girard chase mic. Drop a first fast throw to him. After dropping the majority passed him in the preseason. And then we get the true spiral. So angry zimmer. Or march drop watch bigger poison. While good job zimmer. Oh yeah. I wanna see zimmer fight kirk cousins. That's on the table this year. I don't know if it's this week one but it's on the table fight. I have a legitimate. Like everything blows up in minnesota tate. That will let. We'll probably get to in a different episode when the vikings are action like a serious game but no. I don't disagree that like chance of head. Coach quarterback fight on sideline is greater than zero percent in minnesota which is always a reason to tune in every griffin tweeted. It as zimmer cousins. Ask him like you nailed it. Because if you watch zimmer's press conferences from last year every game and i know we had a really young secretary but every game this may i'm like see mighty hated life every game and it was really entertaining. Still seems like he hits life right. Just very entertained. No filter like minnesota's beautiful state. It's just chili. And it's not like they're like you know having great time in the night life in december and rick's hasn't gotten him a quarterback in ten years. It's like yeah. I've also be a little bit best. And then he's also mike zimmer so it was kind of a natural predisposition ben the batting guy you host the bedding podcast on the bedding podcast. Set some odds for zimmer. Bullying avant davis in retirement halftime of we want. Yeah i would take it. I would take it up to plus three thousand see. That's why if they hit it would be amazing and then what turn it over to first year office coordinator baby kubiak you finishes. I want next. Jack's texans. Because i knew i really want you to sell me on. I know lawrence's easy sell announce no lawrence too easy. Forget that here's what it is. This games stock right. So what do you do. When you're when you're participating in a televised event is gonna suck you create a drinking game and the drinking game is every time you see a player on the texans you did not realize was on the texans. You take a shot and if you're still living by halftime you win the game. Because the texans roster is just journeyman after journeyman after journeyman watching. The texans is just an exercise in. Oh that's right. He's in the league. So if you wanna fond memories of chris conley and komo gray hill and marcus cannon. You go watch. The saxons could be great time. Then i have to work on sunday so you give me drinking. Earn buzzer no. I'm not watching in that. You have to work on sunday. You are compelled to watch jag saxons really. I don't have to give you any other answers besides your paycheck. That's that's true. Yeah that's a satellite we lead. The urban experiment gets off to a good start. Yeah visually handicapped odds for urban retiring. In the middle. Of the game. Him zimmer on make game retirement watch on race to retirement. I three games left. What do you want jimmy niners in. Lyons okay this is a five one. So dan campbell had media availability today on friday. Starting left tackle taylor. Decker is going to be out for quite some time with a hand injury and quote now that the lions have two options the to replace it one is the number seven overall pick a sewell tackle. Out of oregon. One of the best callers left tackle prospects we've ever seen Has tried to transition to the right side to start when dekker's on the left he's been struggling assets. Look bad really really hard to go from tackle to right. Tackle this opportunity to play him at his natural position. That's option one option. Two is a young man named matt nelson. He's in his second year. He was an iowa defensive tackle and so he's a convert to the offensive line. Why iowa had a six hundred seventy tackle. i don't know bring that up with kirk. Franklin's that seems ridiculous but anyway he's never taken a snap on the left. He's exclusively taken snaps at right tackle. Scott one career start and he was like relief a couple of games last year. So you have a really good college left. Tackle and a guy was exclusively played right. Tackle and the lions have yet to commit. Who's starting where so. There is a chance that we will get to see very good. Calls left tackle play on the opposite side where he's been really bad while in iowa. Defensive tackle lines up against nick bosa. That is a reason the log in watch the dan campbell aerostar with the detroit lions. So are you saying. Do you want to watch. Jared goff died. This is going to see who will be really good. "All right let's get back into the show. Hey so i wanted to. I had this thought the other day and while the name and this thought the other day. She's a investor famous So i i. I guess i hadn't thought about it exactly like this before but i was really like. Oh my god. I think this might be true. And i was curious what you think and this. Maybe this was true already but certainly after you put out the anarchist handbook. And how like phenomenally well received. This book has been. But i think that you might be the leading anarchist voice in america. Right now yeah. I i have my locals like suck my patriot. Matt nelson locals dot com have a lot of supporters and one of the l. Let's talk about this because this is something that you also have to deal with And i said one of the things that when you're platform increases that was bill murray chevy chase one of the two. I read an oral history starting to live and then made the point. They said when you become famous you don't change everyone else does and i go okay. I'm trying to my egos already. Completely out of control is the size of the earth. Am i the most prominent anarchist. You know in america right now. And i'm like i can't think of who the counter example would be and they're like well the the david and tom but like your they're not doing as mainstream stuff as you are now and i'm like man this is. This is really kind of weird because it's all crap a liberal democrat. this is just a big rig. It's really kinda backed myself into a corner. I'm a biden. I gave money to biden. Said i the guy. What are you gonna have this orange. Looney this would be the best troll ever. If you like of course i don't believe any of this earthy keep your house safe without the police. Do you hear yourself shawn invades. You're going to tell them about the nath luck with that man. That really would be no. But i mean i was thinking this thought dawned on me and almost in a way and part of this is joe i think because i you know were good friends and i know you very well and you. Almost i thought to myself i think michael is the leading anarchist voice in the country. And then i'm like okay. Who am i. Like not thinking of shops and then one chomsky. But here's the thing right. Okay you could argue chomsky but then the the the other point is that he's you know one hundred eleven yes so even if you're saying chomsky is it's like okay and truthfully look i. I have a. I've always held chomsky in high regard. I've always said to people that i think has. His work is absolutely like invaluable to read. And i highly recommend. I think you like. I've benefited a lot from his work. And i think that many many people have and you if you haven't read him you should you probably can a lot from him That being said all due respect he has just totally humiliated himself over. The last few years has sad sad to see him go. Oh yeah just totally schilling for biden all about by the war monger. Yes because the crime guy really. You have to vote for biden because trump was such a unique evil and because of climate change climate change. Everything is about climate. The earth is threatened and so we need. The democrats are better than the republicans on climate. And so we need to do whatever we can to get them in. It's just really like for for the for the guy who was over the last fifty years the leading anarchist voice. I mean i just find nothing more disposables and give a crap about the climate. You know what. I mean like even on his issues like there's certain things like you know some people talk about a lot and it's their had issue whatever It's not even big issues. He chomsky would argue that. The democrats are better because the republicans want to deregulate. Everything and blah blah blah so of trump's in that much worse and this is the event that means more than anything else and it's like to me how. How are you going to be an and i. i don't know how you're going to be an anarchist and place this issue which is the most status issue like the you know. The argument is that the climate only be huge centralized. Governments can tackle this issue and not at least point out things like okay well The military is like the biggest polluter in our nation. The chinese government is the the the other huge polluter. Like yes like the idea that you would at least go like well a lot of the problems that our government is kind of in bed with energy company is a little bit. I don't know if you've not know and there's none of that. It's just like oh. We have to vote for the democrat. So anyway i don't think he's doing much to carry the torch for an adder kissed endorse voting at all. Yeah now one thing if he said we should want a very pro of climate change fight democratic leadership in washington. We should want that because this is such an important issue. That's not the same as vote for biden it. I mean i will say. I'm not more than just strategically corrupt you. The argument would be vote for the green party because if the green party gets votes. That's going to put pressure on both the republicans and democrats to make this a much better way to send that signal on that one specific issue will populace progressives did over one hundred years ago so his argument was the classic you know voting for the green party insurers donald trump wins so it's a vote for donald trump and that's the worst thing in the world. It's know no the worst thing in the world in this logic is a democrat who co-ops this issue and doesn't do anything about it. That's a scenario right. What you want is a clear choice where you have this. Republican wants destroy the planet and a democrat. Who's actually sees the crisis and is committed biden is not that person. Kamala harris is not the person the only way to get these people to be that person because they are just complete. Corporate automatons is to have a strong environmentalist alternative because then the democrats panic and they're to i. That would be my argument here you. Oh yeah no. I completely agree with you but anyway i'm just my point is just that even if you were going to put trump's wrong about all this stuff but even if you're gonna put tom skip their yemen chomsky is is very old and then some other prominent you know certainly i. I'd say lou. Rockwell is a prominent anarchist not in not as a popular at the famous as chomsky was certain later but within anarchist circles. You know like is is very well known these other guys. But i off. They're all very old and second of all i. Yeah i just. I look around the landscape of anarchists in in america. At least maybe. There's some in europe that i don't know about. I'm alan including left downright anarchists here and there's nobody who's on as many big platforms you who has kind of the body of work that you have and is truly an and one of the things that separates you from even mere..

"If you knew what it took to get this guy on the show, you would appreciate him all the more if you knew what a trooper he is for being willing to be here with us this morning, you You've got to go. And see this man show, uh, on the 16th at the seller's Ville theater, six o'clock at nine o'clock. The show is called Ricky Nelson remembered starring Matthew and Gunnar Nelson. You know their names. You know that legendary last name and show business and Matt Nelson is with us now, Mr Nelson. Uh, sincerely from the bottom of my heart. What a pleasure to talk with you. Welcome. Well, thank you so much. I'm just glad that we got these coal mines working. What a pro you are and a nice guy, too. I can tell the measure of anybody in this business by how decent they are when we're having technical glitches. Thank you for your patience. Really? Look, I I've been waiting around for about a year and a half just to get back to work. So I'm thrilled to talk to anybody. So this is awesome. What are you, man? That's an interesting question to start this interview in all of your showbiz career playing shows, Can you remember a show that went haywire where it had to end early? You're the crowd with a little rowdy. Well, we've had plenty of shows where we've blown the power out in the buildings that we've played. That's what that happens quite a bit. Um, we've had those shows. We've been on tours with other bands that might have had Pretty rowdy fans, but we usually won them over. But I'm not saying that I'm I've had to dodge a couple of beer bottles back in my early days and stuff like that. And you know, here I am a you know, out of 53 now, and I feel like a veteran with lots of stories and One of them is actually coming best playing back in the theater that we really love that almost didn't make it through this whole covid thing. It almost went out of business, so we're really excited to actually be back there and kind of do a A semi homecoming gig for a place we love. I don't mean to be personal, Matt, but in terms of touring for a guy like you and your brother, how important is touring to your living to the to the business that you do? Was. It's crucial because if you think back on the the music business as it was, like, in the days of my dad, for instance, you know people didn't really make a whole lot of money selling records. Uh, they were almost kind of a promotional vehicle. And in the case of our fathers, Of course, we had the Ozzie and Harriet Show the TV show er 14 years people tune in to watch him perform, and then he would go out and he'd play shows and then it kind of switched in the sixties and seventies, people really started buying Albums and singles too, but mostly albums and it was all about hit radio and stuff like that and people toward But that was really to promote the albums and then it went back to Touring because you know, you all heard those horror stories about how the record companies ripped off the artist, and it really was true. I mean, I could really write a book. And so the business was a couple of years ago. You know, you would go. You play a concert, you as an artist, you play to your crowd, You'd sell some merchandise. You sell tickets, and there was no weirdness with things like accountings or All that stuff the funny business, and so when the touring business went away, it was devastating to the entire industry. And, you know, it was really kind of sobering was You know, they started determining that people were either essential or non essential. And historically speaking, when people are going through rough times they like to be entertained. It happened in the Depression as well with our grandfather, Ozzy. He had a big band and kind of came out out of the Depression and stuff by elevating people with his big band in his music. In this case. It was. We don't want to get people together, and something happened to churches. So it was. It was really devastating. And I honestly I felt not only bad about it. I honestly to be honest with you got angry about that whole position. I didn't think it was right. I still don't think it's right. So we we just played our very first show. In about a year and a half last week, and we filled the place that was about 2000 people in Iowa and everybody was so happy to be there and and see their neighbors and be facially naked. And, you know, enjoy the fact that That we've made it through this, Uh God willing, It's not going to, you know, get all crazy and weird again, Probably well, it's that kind of world we're living in. But more importantly, the watch a show that will take them to a different and hopefully better place for an hour and forget about all the stuff that's happening around him. The show is coming up on the 16th. So Friday, it's two shows six and nine o'clock at the sellers will theater and there's still tickets available at S t 94 dot com s t 94 dot com Or you can call the box office. 215257 58. Oh, eight. Matt. Hi. Matt Nelson is with us by the way of Nelson. I won't wait too much into this. I'm sure you don't want to, but just generally, just generally speaking, Uh, I know the era of Covid is, uh, we talked a lot about it on my show and my shows a very political show. But you're not here to talk politics, But just generally speaking, Um do you find that it's almost unavoidable? I know when I listened to Nelson, you know, come out of the night. I was in high school, uh, college listening to your music. I didn't think about politics. I didn't think about politics at all. When I listen to a Nelson song, I don't know that you were either. But do you feel like now you have to talk about it in a way maybe you didn't used to or not. You know, I don't even think it's really politics because you know, I You know, I live in Nashville, Tennessee, which is kind of like, you know, it's 50 50. How people how people think down here, you know, And and, uh I think you're right. In that sense. I wasn't Um, I think as a humanitarian yes, somebody that spent their lives honestly, playing concerts and staying 23 hours after show shaking hands, exchanging stories, you know, I mean, this is something we've we've It's not a hobby. This is what we do. But more importantly, You know, it's kind of our mission literally. To to connect people with themselves with, uh, their history with American history. You know, gun and I are proud Americans, and I think everybody has their own opinions on step one thing. Gunnar and I did, and I'll just say this. We did. Actually, after a huge success all over television, MTV People magazine, whatever you know, honestly overexposed. But we we wrote a concept album to follow up are after the rain album called Imagine Ator, and It was about the media. Controlling people and determining things, and it's just because it was autobiographical. It's what we lived through. And here we are 30 years later, and it feels Eerily prophetic. You know, so my whole thing is, you know, I came up as a kid in the late seventies. It got through punk rock and stuff like that. And, uh, you know, we're in a time now where you can't believe their gut. Or if you're religious, which I am you have discernment. And what you got to do is, uh you know all in. My dad always said, do the right thing and keep doing it. If it doesn't feel right, it probably isn't. And I think we're all just kind of we're all just kind of on a wait and see right now. You know what I mean? A lot of things we've been told have not been accurate or correct. I mean, I know personally. My wife's a Lupus patient, and she's on hydroxychloroquine every day. And when they came out and started saying, Oh, that stuff will kill you. She's looking at her bottle on the nightstand going what's going on here? So you know what Gunner and I have decided to do. Is double our efforts. We've in this downtime. We've written new music. We've We've decided to go out and wherever they will have us like sellers Ville, we're going to play our hearts out because the truth is we really John and I always said, you know, just what we've lived through with losing our dad Young and our lives as musicians. We don't have that We do not know how much time we have here. So live every day like it's your last, and we've always done that. We had lots of close calls, but I think World is doing that now, And that's why I think it's time to celebrate the fact that we've made this through a really rough time that we're all going to and thank God that we we persevered. "Will take over thrown 25 yard line out will come. Matthew Stafford questions about whether night he'd even played a 16 21 170 yards and a touchdown in that first half quarterback rating. 1 15.2. Then he's missed spreading the ball over the field. DeAndre Swift had 14 touches in the first half. He got it. TJ Hawkinson. So Matthew Marvin Jones. He's been spreading the ball. Hopefully, you could keep this going in the second half. Get feeling They got score quite a bit here to just keep this thing tight. They trailed by nine right now, and they've got it. Stafford from the 25 empty out of a gun, Matthew with it throws over the middle clock, first down across the 35. And after the 37 yard line goes, Mohammed Sunu, first down, brought to you by Ford built Ford proud. That is a 12 yard game. One thing I've been impressed about without offensive line today, especially this past Russia. They've been jamming the Tennessee Titans in now. They've been piling them up in the power, and it's been very hard for Tennessee. The rush the passer. Nice job by the front five of the Detroit lines so far today, Matt Nelson in there, right tackle five time being looked at for a concussion that brought to you by him. Report health system, the official healthcare provider the Detroit Lions on first Down, Give us the swift Left side breaks it out to the 42 The 42 spins 44. He's got seven on first down or to be second in three Good run by DeAndre that time to good block by TJ Hawkins and help spring him. I'm a good job day Abou She pulling around there again, Captain getting the contained guy down and then Mabel and DeAndre Swift, the bounce it out. Side and get positive yardage, second and four lions from their own 44 early third quarter down 24 15th single deep safety for Tennessee Stafford up under center Matthew's Got it Wants to throw Looks. Looks, throws deep middle eighties incomplete intended for Marvin Jones out of the 38 Yard line of Tennessee, and that'll bring up third down and three now for the line. Comes from their own 44 with 13 33 to go here in the third. And this seems like that Malcolm Butler now is gonna follow Marvin Jones Jr. And that's what they normally do. They try to put Malcolm on the best receiver, so it looks like he's gonna follow Marvin and cover Marvin Up each and every time Stafford had him that time, just a little bit wide. It looked like six out of eight on third down for the Lions. Third down in three here from their own 44. Matthew's got it back with flag down. Gonna be against the lions. They're gonna blow that dead. That was Matt Nelson. Coming out now too early. It's gonna be third. Nate. That's tough man. This tough putting the guy before the snap, ball starved offense number 67 5 yard ability still third down. Matt's been doing a good job when he's been coming in the game, but this tough, you know, big be leaving with the possible concussion and you're just getting thrown in there. So Matt's gonna have to take a deep breath slowed down a little bit. So that moves the lion's back to their own 39. It is third and eight from there. See what Darrell Bevell dies. Dr. Dials up tries to keep this drive a lot. Carry on Johnson with the game. He's to the left of Stafford, six across that defensive front for Tennessee. Play clock it zero. Delay of game office number of your poodle still third down, So it goes from 33 with two penalties. It goes to 3rd and 13. You just can't do that, and we talked about the early in the game, Tim to see one of the worst team, but you got to keep in the third and manageable positions that have some success against this defense. So lions all the way back. To their own 34. Now they need the 47 to move the chains. Four man Tennessee front. Stafford works out of the gun. Matthew's got and he's back looks looks. Now he loads and throws clock first down after the 48 yard line. Mohammed Sunu Stafford with a dark Seenu with the catch. They needed 13 got 14. And that was a deep rock that mama's new ran. They're coming back to the ball. And when we talk about protection, given Matthew the protection in the time that he needs to let this route developed nice job by the guys in the nice passing lane for Matthew to get the ball to Mohammed. Such great point longest. Everything here is happening because they're given Stafford time. First down at their own 48 Stafford up under center Matthew turns fakes the Give wants to throw steps up into a clean pocket throws deep downfield. It is incomplete Wanted secrets inside the five yard line comes up empty. It'll be second down in 10 now Stafford kind of took it off. Step when he tried to throw that when they're lonely. My stepped on some know it was. It was just, you know, I just grabbed his left hamstring is he came back after throwing that would keep it I on it. Lions with the second in 10 from their own 48 Stafford on the delay gives that straight up the middle that is swift into Titan territory and down the 41 yard line. He's got a first down. It's a gain of 11. Good job. Good draw, Play two and again. Office lime and need to be actors on draw plays..

"In this second half Clean base run. 26 plays for 154 yards, two touchdowns. They have 16 minutes and 38 seconds time of possession that is dominant. Crosby with the kickoff, Agnew. Watch yourself to the back of the end zone. And Matthew Stafford of the offense will come out desperately in need of a touchdown drive here. Oh, now, statistician, Mike Brad is going to get all technical on me because I Crewson numbers out earlier. Green Bay has had to fall for 93% of the second half so far. Wow, Mr Math teacher over here. Straight devil, regular crew executive producer Nick Roddy, producer engineer. Al Rosenberg, Spotter Joe Abramson. Statistician Mike Radha Lomas Next to me, I'm Dan Miller Lines down. 14 28 14 Stafford Lost 12 white flag out of the swift swift to the edge across the 30 yard line, and he runs out about 31. That's a six yard game, Then I like the silver Go a little bit up Temple just a little bit. You don't have to be full. Temple, but just a little bit more decide into the line of scrimmage a little faster. Get in your sense. Let's try to get some plays run second and four lions from their own 31 Stafford out of the gun Swift to its right. Green Bay shows four Across the front. Matthew gives it to switch starts left comes back right sports through a hole gets the first down after the 35 yard line. Who'd brought by Swift first down Brought to you by Ford built for proud That was a good Back backside by day Abou she and Matt Nelson. They gave the Andre swept the backside cut he took it was able to get positive yards on that run. Nice job Packers by 14 11 05 to go in the game lines with a first down from their own 35 Stafford works out of the gun, Matthew Green. See, there's the snap. Matthew back looks, looks throws knocked out of the line of scrimmage and incomplete. Yeah, it was Kingsley Kiki, who got a hand in there to knock it away Lions. Every load will be second doubt. Instead. Anytime that happens, that ball's gonna hangs in the air. You hold your breath, and that's what that's what these deal I'm in the doing Now, That's what they're talking to do. You can't get back there. Get your hands up, trying to deflect the ball trying to get in the past and lands second down and 10 for the lines from their own 35. Stafford out of the gun Swift to his left. Agnew in motion to the right staff wants to throw setting up a screen knockdown. Incomplete. Had it set up that time for Hawkinson. But Darius Smith was bearing down on that view, And as he tried to lob it over the defensive end, 6 ft four inch the Darius Smith just went up and rejected him like to campaign with Dumbo again. What you have to do is you have to be actors, especially when you run the screenplays and drop Plays especially a front office in line. You got to show these guys like you go on the block him. Let him go so they could get upfield. Now with his 3rd and 10 for the Lions down 14 4th Quarter 10 47 to go from their own 35 Stafford out of the gun. Carry on to his left base Showing blitz. Matthew Back looks looks throws. It is caught first down after the 47 yard line. What a terrific grab that time by Marvin Jones. Traffic 12 yards and moves the chains and Marvin Women attack that ball That time ball was coming. The Marvin he went back towards the ball and went to get that ball that so aggressive catch my Marvin Nice job keeping his body in between the D system back and Matthew staff first time brought to you by Ford built Ford Proud. First down Lions from their own 47 Stafford turns fakes to give the Swifts that's deep in the pocket Watch. Stick road does talk inside the 40 incomplete. See fish went down to try to make the catch could not haul it in had to go low down the 38 a Green Bay got a flag down in the back field Day Abou, she says it is against Green Bay. Let's find out if you use the hands of the face. Defense number 56 5 Yard Penalty automatic. First down for Detroit, Randy Randy called for the penalty lions get a first down. Out of that they could use it down 14 10 or five to go in the game. That'll get him down to the Green Bay 48 yard line at hungry how he's getting two items from the mix and match many for just 5 99 each that's hungry house Here come the Lions Now from the green Bay 48 with a first down Stafford out of the gun Swift to his left, Matthew Hands too Swift hesitates. Slim dives down the 45 3 block moving 9 55 to go lions down 14 again, Dad, I would law from the work a little faster, You know, even get Matthew to plays that he could carry with them. But I would love to see them just worked a little faster Then they're working right now. 9 35 to play staff. It brings him to the line. Second down in seven. Matthew takes the snap fakes. The inside handoff, wants to throw dust even just misses him inside the 35 yard line. Amendola was crossing had defensive back. Will Redmond trail position just couldn't haul it in in the Lions will now look a third seven and then I don't know if this is because of the pass rush or the ability of Green Bay's defense to get pressure on Matthew Stafford but are tied as have been in blocking pretty much all Day long. They haven't been the ball in the passing game as much as they had been in the past. Lions three out of seven on third down. Got to imagine this is four down territory from the green Bay 45 of the 37 Stafford takes the snap back walk, steps up rolls, right punks, looking looking, looking, looking, throwing downfield court Hawkinson Now he dropped it inside the 20 with a flag down park had it took a big hit that time from Vernon's. Got that separate him from the ball. But let's check that flag. Not think that would be against Green Bay in the side of the past, holding defense number. 31 5 Yard penalty automatic..

I mean, you've been offensive lineman, probably since you were in fifth grade, but that's a pretty good transition there. Yes, Yes, the awesome story. Ah, you know, I think it's really just a testament to how hard network often guy we all love him. Hey, really has made the transition really smooth. I think he's a super smart guy. I think eventually when he's done, he's going to try to be a doctor, so he's obviously really smart, but I think he's a sort of super hard working guy and he's really transition well and I think he did a great job for his first time out there. Let me just ask you this Joe of you know, having here in your fifth years I mentioned we've had some injuries this year. Some marquee injuries as a matter of fact. Frank Rag, now questionable going into the Jaguar's still with a groin. You battled that same injury. Is this a byproduct of the abbreviated and very strange off season? You know, I'm really not sure. I think I have to. Really Like some statistics on it, but very well could be. I really don't know. I think that things just happen in football. I think that's the main thing is. It's just an incredibly physical game and There's just no tellin when you're going to get injured. That's why you kind of to be thankful for every time you go out there. You know, Joe, I don't want to bore you. I was a former center and I don't want to get into the stories. Your eyes will roll in the back your head and we don't need that. We appreciate your time. But I think from an offensive lineman standpoint. To see DeAndre Swift break that one for 54 yards. That just validates what you're out there doing because you know what? You're not getting heads, whether it's a two yard gain or a 54 yard game, but that's pretty cool. Yeah, Yeah, absolutely. He was. He was incredible last week, and we all know a talented guy on we love blocking for all of our backs factor. They all do. Things a little differently. They all have their different strengths. But we loved walking for all of them. And, yeah, absolutely. It was often that's big runs and then overall, just being successful in the run game Well, and I got a little something to piggyback that with Joe DeAndre Swift, by the way, leads all NFL rookies with an average of 6.9 scrimmage yards per touch. And it's you guys up front making that happen. I'm sure you take great pride in that. Yeah. Yeah, absolutely. And, ah, I mean, we We just want to be successful regardless who's back there? You know, every player we're just trying to make it a successful it's possible but You know, I think it's like again. I think it's just a testament out. Get a player he is and hey has an extremely bright future and we're happy. He's part of our game. And as far as your line goes pro football focus has paid attention. The Lions. Oh, lined the highest grated, run blocking team in the National Football League. So you know it's all falling into place. And you guys worked very hard and you're getting a little something in return. Yeah, Yeah, that's it. It's always great to have a little recognition. It's crazy that there's actually people out there, you know, kind of paying attention to stuff like that. Nowadays. You know, normally the negative the Simon you know, whenever you get a sec or a penalty that from the zoom in on you It's really cool to see the positive stuff is really an unfair aspect of being an o lineman, isn't it? Jo? You don't really get any love. No rewards. Really. Nobody's waiting outside the locker room except family, of course to talk to the old lineman. That's just not fair. Yeah. Yeah, but, you know, I think our team does a great job of appreciating what we doing. I know everybody knows how important we are. We really pride ourselves on being a huge part of what we do Offensively. Joe want to get your thoughts on once again in this pandemic season, playing in front of some fans in Jacksonville last week, did it Did it. Bring back the old days? Yeah, Yeah, I don't know what percentage capacity there at, but it was just offering to have a few people in the fans. You know, it did feel a little weird the first couple weeks. Just not having anybody out there almost like a scrimmage, Essentially, But, yeah, it was definitely a great have people in stands, and I think there's a pretty good turnout from the line. And you know there's a couple times louder than the text. And so that was often. Yeah. Lions Nation travels. Well, Are you a believer Jodl? In carrying over Momenta MME. With this win. I know there's a lot of folks under the impression. Look, we just got another game coming up. We're going to play that. Hopefully everything goes well or are you one of the impression that you you get a big road win in Jacksonville? You know, keep this thing going moving forward. Yeah, I don't know necessarily about momentum, but I think the big thing for us is we just try to improve every week, and that's Something. I think that we've done well so far, So I think as long as we come out there this weekend, all the fundamental things that we need to work on. We improved. I think that it will be another successful week. Well, you're playing a falcon's team again on the road. One in five. Don't want the record fool you, Jo. They go to Minneapolis last week and decimate what was supposed to be a damn good Vikings club. So once again Ah, challenge looms. Yeah, yeah, They're absolutely a talented team, and I don't know if they're a record really reflect how good of a ball club they are, but We definitely take them seriously, and we know it's gonna be a good challenge this week. All right, Jo appreciate your time. Thank you so much for checking in with us all the best moving forward keeper going. Yeah. Thanks for having me. Appreciate it. Or you betcha. That is Joe dull with us here as we continue to count you down coming up right around the corner. Oh, yeah, It's your lions in a TL with the Falcons. Don't go away. We've got more coming up. This is the Detroit Lions Radio network. T Mobile for business. No saving time and.

"Timmy, How you doing? Good. How are you guys doing? Everything is well. What kind of a feeling do you have there? Timmy? You think the lions you give itto take advantage of the good habits they formed in Jacksonville, especially defensively one week ago. Get into three and three would be huge for this team with a win over the Atlanta Falcons Do they wouldn't it? Yeah, it would really be huge, especially with the start they have. And then when you look at, you know the schedule in the opponent's coming up the next month and a half if you winnable games in there, So this is a big one. You know you get to 500. Now you put yourself in the conversation. In the NFC playoff race, and that's what you want. You want to be playing meaningful football games in the month of December, And so this is that key stretch leading up to December. We've got stacks and wins together. Now, this is a much better football team. In my opinion, even though the record doesn't show it, then the one they've played in Jacksonville last week. You know, I think from that Ryan took Julio Jones to calculatedly. I mean those lines. The event's gonna have their hands full, especially In the passing game. And so you know, I think there's gonna be some point score in this game. I think if you if you're a betting man, the overs probably good and we'll see where it goes. You know, it's interesting. You look at these two teams and there. There are some similarities between these teams. I mean the offenses both have a plethora of weapons. The questions have been on the defensive side of the ball, but but really the offensive consistency might be the difference between these two teams today and who eventually wins. Yeah, I think so. You know, I think that's a good that's a good point by you. I think it's really like I said the's air two teams, they're going to score points. I think for me, this game really just comes down to You know who makes a mistake? I think there's two areas. The Red area is going to be really huge in this game because I think that both teams are going to be able to go up and down the field. But which defense can hold strong in the Red zone? Who gets those extra four points by point in the end zone? There's who has to kick a field goal. I think that's going to be one really big difference maker in this game and then turnovers. Obviously thes air two teams that don't haven't turned it over. Really that much this year and so which defense Khun Generate one of those key strips, acts air get in front of a past, You know, limit that one possession for the other team, So I think the two areas guys for me or the red zone in turnover state. I think that's really going to separate these two. Meanwhile, today's inactive list is brought to you by Oxford Recovery Center where healing begins unable to go for your Detroit Lions today, quarterback David Blough, the aforementioned cornerback Desmond Trufant won't be able to go sadly against his former team safety. Miles Killebrew. Running back both Scarborough was activated yesterday. Offensive lineman Logan Stenberg and wide receiver Quintas Sisyphus. Meanwhile, I guess you can't go home again. DeAndre Swift is going to be proving that today is a matter of fact. Timmy and You know he is having a year certainly has the attention of Lions nation leads all NFL rookies with an average of 6.9 scrimmage yards per touch, and also I want to get your reaction. Pro football focus the highest graded one blocking teams in the NFL. Lions el numero uno. That's not bad. That's not bad at all on credit those guys out front and I think it and I wrote this this week. I think this is the best offensive line the lines have had just in terms of talent and overall death. In Matthew Stafford's tenure here, but you look at the left tackle position. Taylor Decker's I think having a career year Frank Rag Now you mentioned pro football focus. He's the number two grated center by pro football folks to me. It looks like they hit on Jonah Jackson. You know the rookie. He's really solid there and you just looked at last week. I mean, they played eight offensive lineman guys. I mean, they had Matt Nelson, who was playing defensive line. You know, two years ago playing great story, and there was no dropoff whatsoever. They ran for 180 yards, three touchdowns. I don't think Matthew Stafford was sacked. And so when you just looked at the overall product on the offensive line, they got town. They got depth there, mixing guys, and it's really a good unit, and I think that's one of their strengths. Early on, Tim, You know one of the things you're around the team as much as anybody. What was the What was the temperature in the room this week? I mean, it's a win, but this is a team that would desperately like to put two together. You got to stack them like you said, you know, but I think the one thing that I noticed from from talking with the players and coaches is, you know they have the bye week and it came at a good time, in my opinion for them, and it gave them two weeks to kind of self evaluate, Maybe slim down something schematically both in the defense of run game in the offensive run game, and then You know you do that, and then you go see it on the field, right? You play the way you did in Jacksonville, and you limited the run 44 yards for Jackson. You ran 180 years. Some of the things that you were focused on simplifying then translated to the field and you saw it. And so I think that gives guys a lot of confidence. When you kind of can make those adjustments, and then you see it on the field. But Atlanta saw that two. They've got that tape from last week. And so what other adjustments now can you make, But I think there was a lot of confidence in in seeing some things that they wanted to do better, and then it translating to the field. I think that was good for this team. You know only one sack and that one against the Jags when we could go there, Tim, but that being said throughout that tilt table to put some consistent pressure on Gardner meant you and that not only helps your young corners But just kind of sets a really nice tone. And that'd be nice to be able to see him Duplicate that ineighty today. Yeah, Yeah, Good point, you know, And I think you know, defensive, Toby. Defensive coaches. Excuse me Talk all the time about, you know, sex, maybe sometimes being an inflated statistic. Obviously, you want sacks. You know, those are negative plays put teams behind. You know the sticks, But in that game, they had 22 quarterback pressures in 16 hurries, right. That's getting a guy off a spot that speeding up his clock. That's not allow receivers to get downfield. So some of those summer things called just talk about to it. It's not only about sacks, but can you get that consistent pressure like you talked about and you saw last week and I saw the same thing and I think it started with really stopping them run. They stopped the run early. They didn't allow James Robinson to get going, and now you're in good down a distant situations. Right now, You know the passing game's coming Now you could pin your ears back a little bit on. I think that was one of the big problems. The first four games of the year teams were running up and down the field and, you know, second three second Florida you could do anything as an offense and you can't pin your ears back as a defense. If that was the biggest adjustment last week, and so I think it's key again this week. You've got to stop Todd Gurley early. Right And don't allow them to get that part going Get them into good down in distant situations..

"We appreciate that. Matt Nelson is with us a Matt Nelson. We were just talking about bullying and social media and things like that. And Matt Nelson has started a nonprofit helping people with bullying, so welcome. Mat? Good afternoon. Laurie. Good afternoon. Julia. Hi gwen. Did you tell us about what's going on this weekend? Yeah. This weekend at the health east sportscenter Woodbury, the field of because it's going to be a little bit of a what. Saturday. We got this great event going on. We are going to be tempting worldwide toy battle. And what that is, is we want to. Adult. Everybody of all ages to come on Woodbury, and we're going to have a large battle. I absolutely think this would be so much fun. And it's also the will be Enberg of people are wondering they renamed it to their healthy. And so you're going to be doing this on Saturday. Excuse me from two to five but project my neighborhood wanted to tell people why you started this nonprofit in this is an extension of it. Neighbor? Quote, we put on these community events to feel leaders within the community and also to give them a little bit of health and wellness that we want them to run around. During our games, we're going to do. We've got some great speakers coming to the events that are going to talk to kids about overcoming adversity and, and the impact on the toys we made. And really a lot of how I got started in at one point, I was bullied when I was a kid and how, how that impacted my life. Eventually, it was, it was quite positive that I started to empower myself to try to drive to do more things, and one of those things was community involvement. Yeah. We picked we picked after battles as we call it because we wanted to create an environment and promote positive psychology for, for battling bullying and end building relationships that the great thing about our games, we've had as young as two years old. To over eighty plane is at the same time, and you kinda play nerve games around bunkers of air, you know, air things in so five like your in the video game. Exactly. We I mean, it's so much fun. I mean it just looks like everyone is having a blast literally. And for the listeners that they, they can view some of these video on what tighter Facebook page for project my neighborhood. Dot org. They're still going to be on a in quotes soccer field away from any natural objects that it great of. So congratulations, mad good lack. Let's hope they break the, the record this weekend. Okay. So it's Hollywood speak to yes, Taylor swift in the Jonas brothers are going to be on the voice of finale records will be next Tuesday night, and, yes, Donny records to be sold, but I think, you know that's smart on. Everybody's part. I've got I've got to tell you about something. Do you constant we, you know, have known from fresh off the boat, the ABC sitcom that just got renewed for the sixth year? Yeah. When she said, bleeping hell when she found out, it was renewed for six years. And she tweeted that out to everybody, followed her, which was really a bad move. But we also fell in love with her crazy crazy, which rich Asians of, I'm Laver. She currently is filming Hustler's the movie which NFL Lopez Cardi B. And so kind of one of the thing, that's coming out today is there's a lot of hate towards constant Constance, Constance. Woo. I love how you call a constant Lou. Here's what they're saying. Okay. So it's this constant. Woo. I can't like that move. Yeah. The pain and the divas, which really are. I'm skeptical too. Apparently, after she sent out that lovely tweet about her TV show, which employs a lot of people getting renewed. For the six-year think-i. No loud on Twitter is not a grown woman. She's in her Sonos. Seven years old. I got earlier. And so, yeah, even though she looks much younger like it wouldn't be my thing. Like if I really wanted to say bleep, I'm not going to be able to do this great movie I was going to do with Charlie Hunnam it yourself or whoever it is. They gotta do the team show. You call your sister your call your mom your best friend. You don't tweet it. And so then when she. She made a mess of it, and I don't know why maybe she doesn't have a PR person or her management team didn't think to put her with a PR crisis because I'm telling you are just one tweet away from disaster. Some people are Hyun for mitt and those people will be remain unnamed. It's a it's a favorite adjective, or something like that. And she just said old, ancient one, you know. Here's what they're saying behind the scenes is that she's a huge diva. No, I don't wanna leave. But apparently, a lot of people of weight in third insider, who worked with on fresh off the votes, that she's a piece of work. She thinks it's okay to treat people badly.
