Who Should USC Hire as Its Next Coach?

"So i think. Usc should go get a nfl coach. I think name image likeness is going to be a little bit of an avalanche the next decade and these nfl coaches are not control freaks. They've dealt with players getting paid. They're very comfortable with it. They've got owners in the nfl. they're not in the. I have to control everything. Business i said doug peterson to me matt. Nagy if the if the bears fired him anthony lynn. All one playoff games in the nfl. All have a presence If you go. Look at usc miami and ucla three urban universities. If you look at the coaches that are had the most success. Pete carroll john robinson. Usc pro coaches chip kelly. Pro coaches getting it rolling dick for meal. Ucla pro coach. How 'bout miami. "Well i'll say this You know. I think you know in jordan from some of the comments. Before i'm my family is a big basketball family. We love we love groups and we're all about it but when you have in a professional athlete honest that had the type of Season that he had and to finished the way he did but yet to have the You know intellectual ability to make a comment like that that is so powerful struck me and and i just think too many of us do exactly what he said. We live in the past. We worry about the past. Were concerned about the future. And we forget about we forget about what's going on right now and that's a problem and so that hit me in the fact that you you can't you can't control what happened in the past You need to worry about what's going on right now that that just that speaks every single person in this world and For our team. That's what we're gonna do. We're not gonna worry about two thousand eighteen nineteen twenty and we're not gonna worry about two thousand twenty two. We're going to worry about right now This year and today. And when you do that it just makes things a lot easier because then you get into all the what if what if this. What if that. And that's it's it's too there's too many hypotheticals and it's just wasted time so we're not gonna do that. We're going to focus on today's practice. We're going to have great conditioning tests this morning. We're going to have a great afternoon practice. And then we're gonna learn some some places and get better today so that we can practice good tomorrow and If we stick to our guns on that Every every day throughout the season. I think things will happen and i just think it was a powerful quote and then something that like i said my four kids can can learn by and it's pretty cool coach when you look back to some of the struggles offensively would be fair to say that the lack of a run game was something that plagued this offense in these last few seasons. And i know you have a desire to really activate that run game. I heard some interesting quotes from you recently. As recent as i think yesterday when asked about your belco running back or turning him into that belco running back and david montgomery you said you wanted to try and get him. Twenty carries a game and look at the numbers from last year. Only derrick henry had more than twenty carries a game with twenty three. Do you truly feel like that's doable. With a guy like david. Montgomery wall again for for me. I would say that the run we understand how important the run game is in every team in the nfl would love to be able to to run the ball Whenever they want to. Because it just opens up your your play. Action passes it protects the offensive lineman. So they're not setting you know. Vertical sets on on seven out of every ten plays and and then also It gives you your defense a little bit of a breather too because you have some some time possession the last couple of years. There's been some games where we had some good success of being able to run the ball and you can see when you're able to do that You're gonna win some games and there's been other other times where it's just been more of a struggle so that you know that number twenty has been brought up and and you're right i mean there's there's not many backs that get twenty carries and usually when you are a lot of the fourth quarter before minute when you're getting extra carriage that we're more concerned about the efficiency of the runs and i think the other part of this too is just the amount of trust that i. We have a coaching staff in our teammates and david montgomery and these other and the offensive line and and trying to build build. That shrank with lanka's blond coach so We understand the significance in the importance of it. And it's something that we want to definitely try to groove. I think david is certainly up for the challenge. Sure talking to matt. Nagy head coach of the bears on keyshawn jay williams zubin in the morning on espn radio and on espn news. He's joining us on the goodyear hotline coach. The offense i know has been a big focus. But let's go to the defensive side of the ball new defensive coordinator and shonda cy. Someone that's been around this team for a really long time. And i know you wanna obviously get the most out of your guys. How can he do that. Yeah i think number one. That you know sean. He's he's come up through the ranks of worked really hard at learning a lot of different defensive systems and You know vic fangio being a mentor a great mentor for him was one of the coaches that he's learned through and And then of course also with chuck pagano being here last year in previous coaches. He's been through the number one thing that i really feel from coach deci right now is just his his his knowledge and his feel of how fit certain schemes at certain times and i think you know everyone says well. He's never caught a game before as defensive coordinator. But that's that's for a lot of us coaches and The thing that i really noticed about sean is is. there's a lot of. There's a lot of trust that. He builds within his coaching staff and the players as to when he's teaching he's an excellent teacher He has a great teaching background. And i think the way he communicates to the players makes it really simple and then they're able to play fast so It's going to be a really A good test for him training camp as we go through our practices for him to be able to test when he's gonna call certain calls at certain times But we're really excited about having him be the defense coordinator and look to the future coach. I know you're very excited. Get out there and prove what you guys can do this season. Did you have that same level of excitement when you found out. The green bay figured out their quarterback situation. Ha- i'll tell you what it's been a. It's been a whirlwind of an off season across the or sure at at at at the different places with with the quarterback positions in the end again Dream bay is obviously Very successful football team. Rogers hell of a quarterback and and so we we For us we gotta make sure that we just continue to just do everything we can to to Battle every day and know that we're gonna talk division with a lotta even though obviously him come back makes it more difficult for sages. We're we're going to be looking for say just myself khalil. Mack is gonna get after this season. That's all she wants me. Yeah i would love. I would love a repeat j. about mateen in that first half at limbaugh. That's for sure. Hey coach all right. Thank you so much for the time this morning coach. You really appreciate it. Enjoy the first day of practice at training camp. Hopefully i'll catch up and.

"In is an interesting time in chicago because it has been a long time since the chicago had a very high caliber quarterback jordan. You like to always poke fun at this. How long has it been every time i listen to the bears. It's a sin lachmann conversation. Did you watch play. I didn't watch lachmann play. But i always hear about sid lachmann. I would love to turn on a bears national broadcast and not hear about sued luchman because the quarterback position has been finally figured out here in twenty twenty one so maybe this is the year that will finally figure that out because the bears did jump ahead. They swapped spots with the giants and they went and took Their quarterback of the future. I believe which is justin feels but they still have qb one. Which is andy dalton. Right now on the roster. We're going to ask the head. coach of the chicago. Bears here momentarily matinee gi. What is going on with that quarterback position. You're listening key. Shot jay will zubin. Who's presented by progressive insurance. Guests will join us on the good your hotline. My name is shake or not. He is jordan cornet. I actually am from chicago so i like to call the bears. My my team. That i cheer for you've kind of jumped on the bandwagon with me a little bit. I'm a big fan of the organization and the people in that organization treat and my wife and how they they become more transparent with things. So yeah i root for the bears. I lived in chicago for fifteen years. Matinee he's always been really good to me very fair to me look forward having a conversation with him and learn more about this team because there are a lot of questions not on a regional local level nationally people that like this league curious of exactly how these bears are gonna look. It's so funny. Because jordan and i you know we obviously watch football together and andy. Dalton obviously played for the bengals for a really long time. My husband's team and now he's playing for my team in the chicago bears. So i feel like we're very familiar with andy dalton although not in a bears uniform yet was with the dallas cowboys last year so we will see how this obviously transpires is. The bears are in training camp right now. we are happy to welcome in head coach of the chicago bears. That would be matt nagy joining us here on the good your hotline. Good morning to you coach. I'm so happy to talk to you. It has been a minute and i know That you know this but just to let everyone know obviously hosts this show with my husband here. And i've been telling them all morning long. You know coach when you say something you mean it and what you've been saying is that andy dalton is does have the edge over justin feels and will likely be the week one starter. Can you please tell my husband here why that is correct. First of all. Good morning chez jordan. Going to be on here. And you know i think for us One of the things that we've done here and then ryan pace. His general managers really create a lotta great competition and Obviously with us going ahead and moving up and drafting just in There's a lot of excitement. And but there's also that plan of the process of how we want to go about with this and you know. All of our coaching coaches on staff myself included. We've had really good. Oakham communication with andy with justin with nick on our. We're going to go about it. And i think the number one thing we've said to them is if you guys just worry about just trying to be the best quarterback that you can be and focused on today on on just doing everything. The right way. great things are gonna happen for all of us. And that's that's where they're at. The beauty is that they all understand that they agree with that. And it's a it's a really healthy room right now. In today's day one they and they had their conditioning tests this morning. And there's gonna be a great competition in all the positions but obviously the focus is going to be a quarterback and andy has played a long time in this league. He's had a lot of success He understands You know where where this city where this organization We're we're all at us coaches with justin berate now in is the starter in the back up and and they they accept that they understand it but they're competing their tails off. It'd be the best be coach. I i don't know if you had a number set for the over under and how many times we'd ask about the quarterback position but like you said it's naturally the focus. It's a quarterback driven league and their question marks at the quarterback position With your group right now. So how can justin fields win the quarterback. Well again you're right. I mean over under is is obviously pretty high territory. We we we. We all understand that Right now we just had our big team meeting last night. And i think what's exciting for our team and for our family here is just knowing that where we sit where we are that. It's very it's going to be the focus of the quarterback position and It's it's for. Justin for indie for nick Those guys that that's not a part of the process for them and trying to figure out or watch every rapper be concerned about every throughout their literally. Just trying to digest this offense and have successful place that we could win. And so i understand the you know the outside and everybody wants to know You know a lot of different questions and get questions answered but for us really. That's not our focus. We're just gonna let everything play out in regard to every position competition-wise and and andy coming in Being the starter taking over this hot oh and coming in here. They want to training camp and show on all these guys. It's like to be a leader and then for justin to be able to learn from from any Again when i say. The room is healthy every day. That we're in these meetings Andy dalton was doing everything he possibly can to help. Justin just as when. Andy was a rookie trying to get help from the guys. You've learned from the same with nick. So our focus right now is is trying to be the best offense. We can be with those quarterbacks and then of course on defense to get that thing back on track and and trying to put a team together while win talking to matt nagy right now. The head coach of the chicago bears listening. Mckay jay z. On espn radio and on espn news are a coach I know last year probably didn't go exactly as you had plan. But i heard something that you said. That was interesting. And the fact that you wanted to hang a janas into koumba quote up on all your kids doors and the essential root of that quotas when you focus on the past. That's your ego. And when i focus on the future that's my pride and i want to focus in on the moment in the present. And why is that quote so special for as you approach this next season in the.

Bears Coach Matt Nagy Insists Andy Dalton Will Be The Starting QB

"Bears head coach matt. What did he do man. Nagy insisted that. Andy dalton would be the bear starting quarterback for week one his quote. And i'll read it off for you. Andy dalton has our starter. Justin is our number two. And we're going to stick with this plan. You just got us. Trust the plan. Yeah you got to set. The budget magician strikes again. I got a bunch of cards right in the right the fi. You never know where they're gonna go. Man thanks matt wasn't there was something about going around saying it's fun to throw his very him. Say there's just there's no outcome to where where there's no area where yeah scenario. Fields is the starting quarterback. And look. I i get you told andy dalton some things when you coerced him to join your your team but as the head coach of an nfl fan. Did i hit you in. The i know no good you look like you've laze bleeding if you're the head coach of this team and you're not leaving at least a scenario where justice fields as your week one starter. You're being a bad coach. Yes there should be a scenario where you allow a player to beat out another player so the best one play

Nagy benches Justin Field for Andy Dalton

"And another team and their actions. That aren't making a whole lot of sense now. Are the chicago bears and head coach matt nagy because this week matt nagy came out and obviously he's in a win or else win or lose your job type of situation in chicago but nagy came out and essentially committed to andy dalton as a starting quarterback this week which is just bonkers especially when in the nfl draft. You traded a future first round. Pick to go up and take justin fields out of ohio state number eleven overall justin field as your future. Even if matt nagy and gm ryan pace. Aren't there certainly hoping that justin fields shows enough. This year this season not just to save their jobs but to position the bears to go back to the again and maybe win a playoff game and show that there can be some promise with this quarterback in that franchise and i think the justin fields has that ability. I think that when you watch him he can make all the throws. He's won a lot of games at ohio state. He's not your typical state quarterback he committed to penn state transferred to d- committed to penn state rather went to georgia faced a lot of adversity in georgia overcame at ohio state. One big games has all the arm strength. has all the accuracy can throw on. The run is mobile. And you're gonna put him on the bench holding a clipboard behind. Andy dalton

"David, <Speech_Male> <Silence> <Speech_Female> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I, the <Speech_Male> NFL <Speech_Male> is trending towards <Speech_Male> mobile <Speech_Male> quarterbacks. <Speech_Male> I would rather have a quarterback <Silence> who could write. If I me, <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I told before I <Speech_Male> wanted the Forty Niners, <Speech_Male> Jeff Trail and silver <Silence> MAC Jones cuz I'm like <Speech_Male> trade <Speech_Male> Lanes. Can do statistics, <Speech_Male> simply cannot. <Silence> Do you <Speech_Male> ever play Madden? <Speech_Male> I do every time and <Speech_Male> I would rather <Speech_Male> play with a guy <Silence> who's got like seventy-eight <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> speed <Speech_Male> and can like at least <Speech_Male> run like <Speech_Male> there's nothing open in New <Speech_Male> Jersey and you can run for <Silence> like five yards and slide <Speech_Male> then <Speech_Male> a dude who's just a brick <Speech_Male> and a statue <Silence> and can't do anything at <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> sounds like silly <Speech_Male> to talk about mad. But my point <Speech_Male> is, I really like mobile <Speech_Male> quarterbacks a <Silence> lot month. <Speech_Female> However, <Silence> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I don't <Speech_Male> believe Mac Jones <Speech_Male> inability to <Speech_Male> run or <Speech_Male> extend plays <Speech_Male> outside the pocket <Speech_Male> or run for yardage. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I don't think that's going <Speech_Male> to hold Mac Jones <Speech_Male> back. He's a really good decision-maker. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> He gets the ball in his hands very <Speech_Male> quickly he can beat <Speech_Male> the blitz throwing which <Speech_Male> is like one of the most important <Speech_Male> things is <Speech_Male> if someone blitzes <Speech_Male> do you try to run <Speech_Male> or <Speech_Male> you know <Speech_Male> escape a sack or do <Speech_Male> you just find the weakness <Speech_Male> and that you can <Speech_Male> find the best match up and throw the football <Silence> <Speech_Male> Justin Fields <Speech_Male> tries to run away <Speech_Male> from blitzes and that <Silence> doesn't work in the NFL <Speech_Male> Mac <Speech_Male> Jones. Hangs <Speech_Male> out in the pocket. <Speech_Male> Finds the open <Speech_Male> man or finds <SpeakerChange> his best <Silence> match up and throw a football. <Silence> <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I hear you, <Speech_Male> it makes a lot of sense <Speech_Male> while you're concerned, <Speech_Male> and I'll tell you what, <Speech_Male> Mac, Jones is <Speech_Male> not my first option <Speech_Male> as a quarterback, <SpeakerChange> I'd rather have <Silence> a guy who could run, <Speech_Male> but he <Speech_Male> is mobile. <Speech_Male> He can <Speech_Male> move very, very <Speech_Male> well within the pocket <Speech_Male> extends plays and <Speech_Male> so David, I I <Speech_Male> disagree, I hear <Speech_Male> your concern <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> but I just disagree. I think, Mac <Speech_Male> Jones. <Speech_Male> If you're going to doubt, <Speech_Male> Mac Jones, I don't think that's <Speech_Male> a good enough reason in <Speech_Male> my opinion, <Speech_Male> to say that Mac Jones is <Silence> not going to work in the NFL <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> as my name is Zach shomler. <Speech_Male> Thank you so, <Speech_Male> very <Speech_Male> much for tuning in <Speech_Male> Short episode today. I told <Silence> you it would be <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> Monday. <SpeakerChange> <Speech_Male> I believe I got some, <Silence> I got, I'm doing some <Speech_Male> some work <Speech_Male> for a pretty big company, <Speech_Male> some camera work <Speech_Male> at <Speech_Male> a, <Speech_Male> at a MLS <Speech_Male> game. So I'll be <Speech_Male> doing <Speech_Male> later <Speech_Male> today. Tomorrow <Speech_Male> is the game set up <Silence> today <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> kind of run it through. So, <Speech_Male> I'm doing some freelance <Speech_Male> work this weekend <Speech_Male> Monday. <Speech_Male> I'm recording <Speech_Male> would be <Speech_Male> doing the <Speech_Male> AFC West <Speech_Male> predictions. <Speech_Male> Is <Speech_Male> reality. <Speech_Male> I've got a really fun <Speech_Male> compilation of <Speech_Male> Justin <Speech_Male> for Justin Herbert. <Speech_Male> That'll be fun to do <Speech_Male> and they'll also talk <Speech_Male> about the Formula One race <Speech_Male> happening on Sunday <Silence> in Spain. So <Speech_Male> expect <Speech_Male> another show off on Monday. <Speech_Male> Five <Speech_Male> topics minimum, some <Speech_Male> ask that questions <Silence> for sure <Speech_Male> and it's all <Speech_Male> I have guys I love you. "In waiting. And so I think man like Matt Nagy calling plays for Justin Fields. Oh, boy, that's exciting. And Andy Dalton. Again can execute and isn't going to be horribly, screw up and do just awful, awful things. He's going to be solid and make decent throws and not going to allow anybody. But again, Andy Dalton's not going to miss wide open receivers and if he has people, why do when he's going to throw them the ball? That's kind of. All you can ask is the guy that can execute me somewhat accurate, that's when Andy Dalton can do so, I am really, really excited to watch. Matt Nagy coach this year, see what it can do. And I think people are about to change their opinion about Matt Nagy and go. Oh yeah, it kind of having a good quarterback does matter just a little bit. Watch what? Matt, Nagy does with better quarterbacks this year. We'll see if he can't coach Andy Dalton or Justin Fields then fine that's fine. We can say like people can be critical of Matt. Nagy dog you know what? You're right, fair enough. But I don't think it's fair to judge. Matt Nagy on Mitchell trubisky and Nick Foles who couldn't even win the job in Jacksonville. That's what I'm trying to say. I cannot wait to see what happens with Matt, Nagy in Chicago Bears with their new starting. Quarterbacks, I guess with their new quarterbacks. One of them will start and then another will eventually start, but they got two new quarterbacks and I cannot wait to see what happens with Matt, Nagy, moving forward with. Okay, let's shift gears. I did not think I would talk about this subject at all, but.

"Last topic about Aaron Rodgers for, at least a month for quite a while. First of all, I don't want to argue with people. Like I can argue all day with YouTube comments and people on Twitter and bought a ram and it's like, okay I've said my peace, I think it's out there. You agree? Or you don't. And I'm honest, I'm getting kind of burned out on the story and I think the month goes on. A lot of people are slowly going to get where I am. Where they're like, wow, I am really tired about hearing about Aaron Rodgers. It's dominating the media space and the reality is, it's all up in the air. Like if the Packers were going to trade Aaron Rodgers, it's not going to happen until at least June 1st because by trading Aaron in June the Packers. Save a ton of money and so it's just out there and we just have a while to wait. Maybe some crazy thing happens in there. Some breaking news like a new development and it's actually new development. It's not like one of Aaron's, former teammates saying something that probably has errands approval. So until further notice this is gonna be my last Talk about Aaron Rodgers for a long, long time, but I will say, I do Wonder. If there's a handshake deal between the Denver Broncos, and the Green Bay Packers, you know, I wonder if there's a silent or very quiet agreement. Between those two teams will wait till June, it's easier to trade Aaron and we'll make a trade down the road because I look at what Denver did in the NFL draft, And it was very confusing because the Broncos had an opportunity to draft Justin fields in the top ten and they need a quarterback and gender was like, nah we're going to pass out and they drafted a corner, Patrick certain from Alabama. Really good corner of Alabama, I think whatever. And I it was a weird pick because I'm like, you need a quarterback. Oh and by the way you drafted the number one thing with Green Bay Packers need a corner. And it really doesn't take a whole lot of convincing to convince me like, you can say a couple things that I'm, like, kind of believe you. It doesn't take a lot to convince me that the Denver Broncos may have a handful deal with the Packers to trade, Aaron down the road. And I gotta say, I would love to see Aaron Rodgers play for the Denver Broncos. I think the Denver Broncos game is best shot at.

Washington releases Alex Smith following quarterback's Comeback Player of the Year season

"Quickly. I have some news that has just come in from adam. Schefters twitter feed. And it's not a surprise but the washington football team has released alex smith. Who was this year's choice for the nfl's comeback player of the year overwhelmingly. So he has been released. They save almost fifteen million dollars cap space so in an off season. Where does shawn watson might be available. Dak prescott might be available. Russell wilson might be available louis. How interested do you think teams will be alex smith as he becomes available now. I think alex is a tremendous mentor. I think alex would be a tremendous bridge quarterback at this point in time these people are going to really try and connect the dots between him in chicago given his familiarity with matt nagy and that system that they run in chicago like it was in kansas city. I don't think that's a that's the option that they're looking for but look. I have nothing but infinite. Respect for alex smith at any team would be better served having him in their in their quarterback room for sure.

How the Tampa Bay Buccaneers upset the New Orleans Saints to advance to the N.F.C. championship game.

"Drew brees tom. Brady eighty five years worth of quarterbacks second quarter at six three saints and then dan fish huge mistake by brief. Yeah first of all the internal pressure and second of all the physical. Play at the line of scrimmage by murphy bunting getting physical with the receiver michael thomas undercutting that outraged by drew brees. That throw was a huge tone. And that. I love the to mike evans big body in the red zone. Stay in between the quarterback and defensive back touchdown tampa bay for cash in ten six tampa ensuing drive seats trying to respond. This is james winstons. First career playoff past and dan take a look at the triggering. Yeah love the beautiful design and then trey smith leaking down the middle field. But this is really about everyone paying attention to alvin kamara. Watch the tailback in. How many blocks defenders run that way. They lead tricon smith on blocked out here. You big cat. Take great play designed by matt. Nagy that sean payton carries over to yesterday saints thirteen. Ten is the advantage there. Bucks get a field goal. So we're tied up at halftime first. Possession of the second breeze to smith again beautiful. Throw we've seen so much by drew. Brees that incites thought. Fade carry into the sideline touchdown new orleans but then later in the third dan. This play changed the entire game. It's incredible winco junior yet. Tampa new orleans wins. The right they get that slant because it's man coverage but just watch that right hand come in on that back side punch to finish that playoff for tampa bay's defense. That ball bounces right to their defender to huge turnover for them saints turnovers and the bucks cashing in. That was the story of the game. Here's brady that's leonard. Four bucks tied up at twenty cook knows. That mistake was critical. Comes another one dan. Although this one clearly seems to be miscommunication yeah really. It's really just trying to get a vertically route to evan chimera out of the backfield but what happens is never liked. Does a remarkable job of playing with vision onto drew brees patient and then no wasted movement snaps drives on that football before kamera ever turns around and drew knows that was a terrible decision. Saints third turnover leads to this brady takes it himself. Tom brady giving the bucks a thirty to twenty lead. Only the rap isn't excited about it and one last chance now. Desperation time for freeze. That is tipped in the air. And that is all she

"Busted Bears YearEnder 2020" with Dave Wannstedt - EP039 - burst 3

"Do you think that the right direction for the bears would be to. Maybe put all their eggs in one basket and trade for the shawn watson or completely changed their mentality at the quarterback position. Well i kept them all. I would keep mitch. Because i when you look at mitch numbers and that's what i'm trying to figure out. What are you valuate. Mitch on if you look at his numbers this year. From the standpoint of touchdowns the interceptions and completion percentage and you know he. He played winning football. I mean you know it's gonna be aaron rodgers absolutely not but if they're gonna get you the playoffs and now you gotta get into the playoffs. Now you run the football you play defense and you got a chance to go to the super bowl. That's my personal opinion. Okay but now. Here's the issue you're going to you know if you're let's say gonna make the trade for veteran quarterback because and this has to play into it. I mean george mccaskey's smart enough to know that the clock is running on that defense. They have in my opinion another year or two. And then it's going to be. Mac is going to be over the hump. You're going to have quinn. You're going to have to obey then. All of a sudden that they're they're they're an old group and their contracts are up and now you re starting from scratch right there. So you know i i i guess what i'm making the point is that you know if they want to get the most of this defense. They need to do it right now. A s a p and so. I think that's probably should've played into this decision. But now if you are. Let's throw out a veteran quarterback. If you're matt ryan and atlanta or matthew stafford detroit Are you gonna say you gonna pick the bears over the patriots because right now. No i mean and right now. The same thing with assistant coaches. I mean whoever this defensive coordinator coming in if they bring somebody in there not to give them a three year contract because it right. Now it's it's throughout the league the handwriting's on the wall. They have to win this year. Everybody's fired that's that's a tough spot. I very very tough. Spot for ryan. Pay matt nagy to be into it because there's a lot of jobs open. We're guys are starting from scratch. And they're not on the last year of their deal so i think you've gotta look at the coaching end of it. And you gotta look a veteran player. That might have two years

Bears announce coach Matt Nagy, GM Ryan Pace will return after 'impressive' finish to 2020

"Apparently matt nagy is going to make it to next year. The bears are gonna keep him the head coach. The general manager ryan pays. Who may have been more maligned than nagy. Decline the fifth year option trubisky. But it's still an option to bring him back in some way our jeff dickerson who covers the bears is essentially reporting. Nagy and pace will be back. Our dan orlovsky is voicing his opposition. What has matt nagy done as for his a an organizer as far as a leader as far as a person with foresight within their organization to say yes in that head coaching role. We love them. Now we're going to allocate some of the play calling responsibilities or the offensive viewpoint. Who are we going to give that to. And what has matt nagy done within. That building approve on great in this role. I understand what dan is coming from. But i think in this situation. He has a winning record. Chuck pagano is retiring as a defense coordinator so he's got to his staff and his thought process in his thinking. Maybe there's a guy or two out there that is really good at calling. Plays really good at putting a system in place to make. Whoever the quarterback is going to be in the future for them successful. So i'm okay with them taking a look see. They just went to the playoffs. So you take a look in just poo. poo it. because you've got to restart things all over again when you completely blow everything up so give it a shot in twenty twenty one see where it's at. He's going to be before you make that decision and that move now mr bisky mitch. Trubisky is jockeying for position to come back and be the chicago. Bears starting quarterback again. Now maybe there's a small deal there because they didn't pick up the fifth year option. There's a small little deal. Maybe there's a two year deal. That is a proven deal that he can now show with a new office coordinator his abilities that he showed in north carolina and made them take him as a number two pick overall.

"Hope to become just the second team in 30 years to reach the postseason After enduring a six game losing streak. Head coach Matt Nagy says his team is eager to prove that they can do it your competitors, and they know that they can play a lot better, and so they're motivated. I don't think it's all for them. And it's more about just going out and doing things and playing fast, you know. So you see, see guys like You see guys like Khalil like like I came like road Kwan, you know on Danny, and there's a bunch of those guys that their pride and they care about how they play this game, not only for themselves, but for their team. "Kansas city with six consecutive playoff berth. Clinching the spot with what was narrow win over denver mahomes yet another three hundred yard passing game with no turnovers elsewhere. Kirk cousins kept the vikings in the playoff hunt. Three touchdowns helped erase a double digit deficit before dan. Bailey kicked a game. Winning field goal in overtime. Vikings back to five hundred and then is mitchell trubisky and the bears ten point lead late in the fourth quarter fumble leading to a pair of lines touchdowns and the bears lose again their sixth straight defeat after starting the season five and one and that was the conversation. That was focused on quarterbacks rex. Where your mind goes because the bears and that defense had a ten point lead in the fourth quarter. What yeah no. If you're the real deal then that game's over regardless of stupid play by the quarterback trubisky and and the play call the questionable. Play call at that situation. If you're that team the grind clark and i have been on those teams games overdue. It's flat out over if we're gonna show you how good we are. How great we are i instead that team right. There gave up four hundred fifty yards to the detroit lions. Yeah you really that good forget about you wanted your own i did. You never liked the eighty five bears. Well guess what you can't hold their jockstrap. And i'm sick and tired saying that you're good defense. Most talented deep dang danger. Don't play that. Yeah i see look. This is a team that a few weeks ago. I remember we were talking about the defense looking side. I'd the court the offense because they're struggling so much and again. They're in position to win the game. I'm getting so sick and tired of you. Guys talking out of both sides of your mouth. What do we always say. We wanna team to be together. We want total chemistry. We want complimentary cal not a bears fan not embarrassed land complimentary football. It sucked to what we want. Is it this. Chicago Bears: Matt Nagy handing over play-calling duties

"And let's see if the bears moving offensive coordinator duties will be money on the field tonight. Normally it's mad nagy their head coach. He's been offensively inclined. That's why the bears hired him away from kansas city where he was working under andy reid but with the bear struggling. They're handing over play calling duties to bill laser. He's been in the nfl for a while. We'll get into his bio in just a second to see what you can expect on monday night football when the bears. The bears take on the vikings. Here's matt nagy essentially saying. I didn't really want to do this. But i've been around long enough to know i kind of had to do this. I've been around. Obviously one of the greatest head coaches in the history of this game and coach reid and of the best play callers in the history of this game co treat reid and for me in that time where he was able to show the trust in me at that point to give it to me to to run the offense and call the plays there was a little bit of a change and sometimes when you're in this position that we're in right now you wanna make sure that you're looking for solutions and you know you can always talk about execution. You can always talk about teaching. You can always talk about all facets of the game but this year with me going through that and seeing what can come from it. I just think it's it's the right thing to do. And we'll see where it goes. Laser been a longtime. Nfl assistant key the eagles the bengals. The dolphins is actually the oc for the dolphins for a couple years falcons washington football team seattle in more subordinate position. So he's been around the block. Tell me what this means i. It just means dead the pressures on in whenever you see a coach head coach playcaller give up play calling duties this late in the season. That tells you the pressures on in conversations have been had that they've got to figure out another way to generate points because clearly the will matt nagy calling. The plays was not working and if he continued to call the plays and continue to go the way that has been going. There's a large chance of the possibility that he may not be retained after the season. So he's trying to fix it before they get to that point which is smart on his part. I mean look when you go to. This is when you go to this. This is the last stop right. this is right. This is the last stop. We gotta turn it around because if we don't chances are i'm going to have for sale sign point in january in front of my house on the the reality of what they have to make the playoffs in your expectation for matt. Nagy not to lose his job i would. I would think so. But i'm but i'm not the owner of the team but i would say that for the general manager matt nagy to be back with me and twenty twenty one. They've got to get to the playoffs especially we started off with a quarterback that we drafted several years ago. It was the second pick in the first round. We went away from him. We listened to you by going out and getting nick foles and now we missed the playoffs. I can't bring you back.

This doesn't make any sense Number seven. Keep some folks around You like generous. Mandatory. That is the absolute truth. All of it. I have never seen anything like that either, And he could have broken his hand. And it doesn't make sense. And having a teammate like generous is good in a situation like that. After the game. Here is what the rocket scientists Matt Nagy had to say. We've talked to him and told him that that's not how things go here, one of Japan's strength character who is a person And you know he's since apologized, but you don't have that There's no part of that in this game again. I still haven't seen it. But from what I heard is not good, So that's just that's not how we roll here, and we'll be talking to him. You really, If that's how that happened, That's exactly how you roll there. I love too, He said. One of his strengths is his character. If you're holding this dude up is a man of character. I'd love to see the dudes who have questionable character. I know he's not due to a high I Q. Because that was one of the dumbest things I've ever seen. Awesome, but dumb. Bill Barnwell on NFL Undefeated Teams + Monday Preview

"Bill Barnwell. It is late Sunday night almost midnight, which means it's time for you to make me smarter about the NFL. I'm going to try my best Baba Bill. Barnwell is a senior writer for ESPN host of the Bill Barnwell show and he's procrastinating his deadline to talk to me. So we just watched the saints and the packers on Sunday night football and the saints lost without. Their Star Receiver Michael Thomas. But that did not stop us from getting a whole bunch of touchdowns drew brees and Aaron Rodgers. Each threw for three a piece. But in the end, the packers won the saints lost and they've now lost New Orleans says back to back games for the first time since two thousand, seventeen bill I know you are writing a new piece about drew brees coming off of the two year deal that drew brees signed in the offseason and what we've now seen from him through these first three weeks what did you see in Sunday night's games he regressing improving? What do we have with bruise right now? Okay. So public drew brees definitely improving this is a better performance from him. Me brees was downright bad on Monday night in week two against the raiders before we got to garbage time and breeze didn't do deep very frequently until this game was out of hand but I think the concerns i. have read or have heard about arm strength or how deep is passes typically go they don't really get how reason this offense actually worked. Breezes sort of like. A singles hitter in baseball like Tony Gwynn lagging time where a post player with no range in basketball he's not going to suddenly start throwing deeply. He's Patrick Mahomes at forty one years old breeze has succeeded. Over the last three years while throwing the shortest paths in the League because he's posted the three best single season completion. In NFL history. Now. The good news for the Saints Good News For Saints Fans is that brees was much more accurate on Sunday night it was twenty, nine, thirty, six for two, hundred, eighty, eight yards a lot of that West Alvin Kamara who did a lot of the work but still going to end up thirty six is still better than where brees was. The bad news was just about everything else. The Saints Lost Starters Jared Cook and Andres P to injuries while devante. Adams List Aaron Rodgers threw for two hundred, eighty, three yards and those three touchdowns you mentioned. The saints focused on adding veterans with nicknames Emmanuel Sanders and balcony. Jenkins this off season. But. Sanders hasn't been able to stand out with ankle Thomas Injured and Jenkins has been picked apart in pass coverage including Mercedes Lewis touchdown on Sunday night the attorney for more accurate breeze that was a bright spot. But if the saints continue to struggle with injuries and get disappointing play from their stars, the Orleans is going to need this version of free stick around to have a chance to compete in the NFC. So the packers emerged three no, and that's where a lot of focus the rest of our conversation here on the teams that are now undefeated through three weeks of the NFL season. So bill, let's push deeper into the NFC here because the Chicago Bears Be Chicago bears are somehow three you know and they do it by beating the Falcons thirty to twenty six Chicago was trailing by sixteen head coach. Matt Nagy Decides to pull quarterback Mitch Trubisky in favor of the veteran nick foles mister big bleep nick himself who goes on to throw three touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. So I have a two part question for you now. Why are the Falcons physically incapable of holding onto a fourth quarter lead and? Secondly, where does this leave the whole quarterback situation in Chicago? Let me answer the second part of that question I. The bears are going to flail by the seat of their pants for the rest of the season I would assume that nick foles is going to start until he struggles and the bears trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter a couple weeks from now, I would point Mitch Trubisky will come in and lead them to victory and the cycle will start the new. Unfortunately I don't have one simple takeaway for our poor friends and Atlantic. Is Different From what we saw in week to as. Much. As the defense was disappointing in this game, the offense really deserves a fair chunk of the blame for what happened scored a touchdown on the opening drive third quarter, and then basically tried to sit on their lead, Matt Ryan and company REPA- total three first downs on their next six is before the bears took the lead back and the only scored one field goal over that time after bisky intercession back running back Brian L. dropped an easy third down conversion which would have put the Falcons and field goal range. Then on the next drive kicker, young coup miss a forty eight yard field goal attempt. I know. I mean let's be fair. The Falcons defense was very bad. I'm not sure the Falcons are gonNA make any drastic changes on Monday morning, but Arthur blank can feel great about seeing this happen. On his seventy eighth birthday and. I believe I'm not mistaken not the only person celebrating birthday on Sunday. Having Birthday Pamela. Day Pablo. Yeah this is a hard way to discover that you share a birthday with the owner of the Atlanta Falcons Bill, which feels like you just cast a pox upon my house.

Mitch Trubisky Expected To Start As Chicago Bears Quarterback Over Nick Foles

"Let's start off talking about your pal and my pal super bowl fifty, two hero nick foles and when. The Chicago bears traded for Nick foles over the off season for a fourth round pick we all largely assumed it would be to replace Mitchell trubisky as the team starting quarterback. Otherwise, why do you go out and trade for Nick Foles? Mitch Trubisky is a pretty bad quarterback in the Chicago offense. Last year was pretty dreadful with Mitch Trubisky as signal caller and the two were. They were involved in some kind of quarterback competition this summer in training camp everyone I think myself especially just figured Nick foles would win that job. Well, NFL DOT com reporting that trubisky has beaten out nick foles for the starting quarterback job in Chicago. Remember all that talk about whether the eagles should keep foles or go with Carson wentz. Now, he can't even beat out Mitchell and I love Nick foles this is not me bagging on Nick foles but I'm finding it hard to believe that Nick foles doesn't look better in Camp Than Mitch Trubisky you Mitchell Trubisky is literal. Well, listen to the numbers. Okay. The bears offense averaged seventeen and. A half points per game last year and ranked in the bottom five points per game and in total yards. Okay. Trubisky through for thirty one, hundred, thirty, eight yards, seventeen touchdowns, and ten interceptions. He's a terrible quarterback he looked like he might be improving in two thousand eighteen he played pretty well in the bears playoff loss to the eagles especially at the end of the game when he made some big plays, but he regrets terribly in two thousand nineteen. That's Chicago offense was awful and Trubisky was one of the big reasons why only seventeen touchdowns on the season? There's a reason there's a reason the Chicago bears went out and got nick foles. And Nick foles has a higher ceiling the Mitchell trubisky. You can't tell me what after what we saw Nick Foles do in that playoff run in two thousand seventeen that he doesn't give you a better chance to win. Unless Nick foles arm is falling off for or age has really set in in a big way with Foale's we don't know because we haven't been able to watch any preseason games. So we have no idea what's going on in matinees training camps and what's happening behind the scenes, but it's mind boggling to me that they're going to go with the guy who in Mitchell trubisky you know what he is by this point and you know what Nick foles can do. Both of these guys have a low floor. There's there's no question we've seen nick foles when he's not on play terrible football he's not a good quarterback when he's in one of his slumps but when he's hot. There are few that can match nick foles can do when Mitchell trubisky is hot. It's only slightly better than not. So Great Mitchell trubisky what and we just to think about what Nick Foles did in those two playoff games in the NFC championship game, and then in the Super Bowl to do what he did on that stage and the love that his teammates have for him I just it's a it's a very curious decision by Matt. Nagy and the Chicago bears to go with Mitchell trubisky over nick foles but that's the decision they've made I think. Long Story, Short Nick Foles my prediction will start more games than Mitchell trubisky this year when all is said and done nick foles is probably you're starting quarterback not long after the season begins and my guess is if he stays healthy nick foles starts more games than trubisky this year. Because I know the bears aren't really that smart and I know they they sunk a lot into trubisky drafting him when they did. But at some point, you just got to cut the cord move on I i. We don't know what's been going on in training camp at. Nick foles must've looked really bad in training camp for them to go with trubisky over him.

"Like Chicago Bears traded Ford Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nick Foles yesterday and I'm not sure there any quarterbacks who have had a stranger career than Nick Foles everybody knows about that incredible postseason run with the eagles in twenty seventeen the rest of his resume is kind of spotty had one season where he threw twenty seven touchdowns and two interceptions the best team need to interception ratio in NFL history but that was with chip Kelly number one ship was reinventing the NFL back in twenty thirteen with the eagles he's one of a handful quarterbacks ever throw seven touchdowns in a game so he's done incredible things went toe to toe with Brady in the Superbowl but he's also had a disappointing season with the rams a backup with the chiefs disastrous contract in Jacksonville that wasn't his fault got injured in Jacksonville now he's reunited with former offense to coach Matt Nagy in Chicago so which Nicole shows up who knows and is he good enough to beat out Mitchell Trubisky all we know is falls is not scared you don't want to play against him in a big game the question is will the bears get that far where he plays in a

Big event coming up this weekend. Bears one hundred we've been talking about it for weeks, June seventh through the ninth waddles going to be there on that Friday. Donald these Stevens convention center, tickets, still available Chicago Bears dot com slash celebration weekend will be the largest gathering the bears ever, and of course, once in a time chance once in a lifetime chance to see all these guys. So I ask you coach Nagy football lifer. A guy who played quarterback are you who would you like to have a beer with most of former bear that you have. Not not yet. I'm surprised you didn't ask me if I was going to judge. You know what there's so many great ones that, that, that, that, that's not the answer. You're looking for. So I'll just say this. I think being a former quarterback and in growing up in the air of knowing you know, about the eighty five bears championship run, and, and everything. I think I I'm really looking forward to, to meet up with Jim McMahon and seeing what he's all about, and just listening to stories. Out Doug Peterson ir are close. And I know they were teammates for a little bit in, in their in their days. And so I'll be looking forward to that. But it's going to be a great time. We're so excited. The players the coaches the the city the fans. I mean what a great time to all be together. And like you said, it's the first time that this is going to happen. And everyone's so pumped a coach you and the team got a visit from dick Butkus yesterday. How how cool was that? It was really, really neat. We showed a video early on to the guys just. So they got a nice taste of exactly who he was. They know his name and they've seen clips but to get a nice little video of exactly what he was about when he played here and how hard he played and what type of leader he was. And then for them to see him, you know, a posted in person he was there watching practice yesterday. And then he talked to us at the end of practice presented award, dick Cleal. It was probably a day that none of us, forget, we are getting pictures with them. And he just kind of give him some of his his advice to us and where we're at what we've done and how good it feels to be a part of the Chicago Bears Khalil Mack got an award from him. And I know that he made a big impact on the field for you. Guys. When you got him, but you didn't have them during T as in many camps in training camps. What's it been like to have knack involved in everything this off season? Well, what it is, is indirect indirectly him just being around. He he's not a big. You know, vocal guy that's you know who. Hollering and talking a lot or any of that. He just he leaves buys action. So him showing up every day, like he has just just working hard. You know, ask them questions in meetings and just being there. And then he's there for the young guys that have questions you can answer them, and I think just his attendance and, and showing that who he is. And how he goes about doing things that's a lot. You know, speaks more to these kids or these other players than it does of him trying to say anything. So we didn't have that last year. Now, we have it and it's just made us stronger. Coach two thousand nineteen year of Mitch a big year for him to make progress second year in your system as leader of your offensive group is that fair? And what do you expect from your quarterback this year? Yeah. It's a big year for him. Which is, you know where it all starts for us. And especially offensively we all talked about it last year. It was going to be a little bit of a, a learning curve for him. I thought he handled it really, really. Well, he's, he's so motivated to come out and prove everybody. Right. That's believed in them and knows what he can do you'd asking lots of questions, you know, coach we're going coach for a great job at making sure he understands this offense inside out. He's got great teammates at her are here with them. You know, I just look at a guy like Allen Robinson who again at this time, just like Khalil wasn't here with us. So now every throw that they get together just makes us better of our entire offense. They, they know this language. They know this offense. They know the lingo, so they can worry about what the defense is doing. And it's really just helping Mitch out which helps us all out. We're talking head coach Matt Nagy from the bears and we have Louis Riddick when a your old friends on our show during the football season every week he call. Calls niche Maserati? Mitch do you like the nickname? I do. Yeah, I think that's pretty creative. And, and, you know, it's, it's I think, you know, Louis five a lot of respect for he knows the game. Very, very well. And he knows the quarterback position. And so for anybody like somebody like Louis given that title of quarterback. It's high expectations, but that's we wouldn't want it either way. So it rhymes it sounds good. So I'm with it coach, you out of the couple of other offenses pieces to the puzzle in the draft in rounds three and four. What can you tell us about what you've seen so far from the young guys? Well, it's been really impressive again. We can't put ads on right now. So, you know with with draft and David Montgomery into third round, you know, he, he said to me day coaching when are we putting these pads on? You know, he's getting getting that he's getting four. He's ready to ready to run the football and the lower shoulder a few times to try to run some guys over, and, and he's done a really good job at grasping, what we're asking him to do and that you guys, you know, Riley Ridley and the, you know, the just just the whole collective group of, of that we, we drafted here. They're all really good, guys. They fit well in our defensive schemes and. It's good because they have guys really good guys to learn from. So we're excited to get into training camp, which isn't too far away and up with pads on, on the other side of the ball coach you had such a great dynamic with Vic Fangio in Vic had had such a great stay here as defensive coordinator of, will you will you have the same dynamic with, with coach Pagano. And how will the defense look different with Chuck calling them? Well, no, yeah. The dynamics going to be the same. You know Vick night for me coming in as a first year head coach. There's a lot of my plate right away. And so it was it was really nice having a guy like Vic that can just take that whole defense and just go with it. And that helped take things off my plate. And, and over over the course of the season Vic and I got closer and closer and just really started understanding each other how we work together and how we work apart. And so it just it really ended up being being really good. Now Vic, you know gets ahead job, and he moves on. And that's the thing. And so now we who's. The next guy that can come in, and that's where, you know, instantly when I when I met with, with, with Chuck, and we interviewed them, you could just feel such a great sense of history as a as a defensive defense of person you know, defensive coach. And then on top of that, just the, the, the person in high character integrity, a man that leads, he's going to the players are going to listen to every word, he says, now, he's different than Vic, their personalities are different. And that, that's what I love about coaches in general, is that you have a guy in Vic is a little more quiet a little bit more reserved, and Chuck's, you're gonna see Chuck in here, Chuck out at training camp. He's running around yelling, screaming all that stuff and I, I like that, and, and they all have their different styles. But chalks going to have it's going to be his thing that his side of the because Ron with just like I did it last year with Vic and I'll give my input when needed, but I'm really fired up about it Maggie joining us bears head coach Waddle and Silvy on ESPN one thousand so there's a lot of talk about the kickers. I know you discussed it with the media today. Are you confident that one of the these three guys will be you're opening gay kicker? I yes I am very confident. I feel good about that. We put a lot of time and effort into it. You know it's, it's not something that's just going to happen right away. It is a, obviously, a huge void something that we need to get fixed and we need to feel really good about it. We all do feel very good. That that what you just asked. This is true that they're on. They're they're out there right now practicing with us. And that's what we're hoping. So we're we're, we're trying to create pressure situations for them to, to try to help not only us out, but help them out, so that when they get into situations, they can they can make the kicks and, and it's gonna take a little bit pun. We'll have a little fun with it in a good way in training camp. But we, we need to know that position now for sure JD was telling us about the silence there today. Tell us about the thinking behind having totally quiet when they kick. Well, there's a couple of ways to think about it number one, usually, it's not too quiet at football games when the when the kickers getting ready to kick. There's normally a lot more noise. I mean, you whether it's like a Gusta or these golf championships where these where there's thousands and thousands of people around one hole. And he's got, you know, somebody's gotta make pointy foot but the be the masters champ, or, or your your, you know, you're sitting there, getting ready to hit a free throw to win the game. And they're all the technical foul, and there's no one in the key is just you and the and the rim. But what that is, is that's creating pressure. And there's a lot of things that go into that into your mind of trying to think positively. And, and so we're we're trying to you know formulate that as much as we can right now. It's the kickers as we get into training camp. It'll be other positions. But we need to get nailed down. And, and, and so we're going to try to create ways to do that simulate as much as we can and so far we've had that year. Silence. Which I kind of like. And it just put it lets them know that we're all watching, and how do they handle it?.

"Have now you have my goverry. So they have their pick guys in now, basically, Matt Nagy just go to work. And work your magic, and let's get to the Super Bowl. He moved up fourteen spots pace did from number eighty seven up to number seventy three fourteen stats up. They gave up a fourth round pick and next year in a fifth round pick this year to move up for teen. And they got six this year, so the confusing, but when you do the numbers, which I did for on the draft pick chart value thing, whatever they, you know. Meshes out measures. I'd just about equal, which is, you know, not that that's the ABI L Endo. The only thing you can look at it. But I know they use that. Or they use different sources was closed gonna do. They do at the end of the day. I don't care. Right. If they if they pick guys that are going to help the team win. I don't care if they gave up an extra pick. They wanted the guy that they wanted naturally they did. And you know, Matt Nagy wanted a guy Ryan pace one at a guy, they moved up get them. And what happened basically is it was three spots after the Rams took a running back in one spot before buffalo took one. So maybe they were concerned that buffalo was going to grab their guy. But you know, what we've learned when he wants his guy who didn't care, right. I'm getting my guy. I'll move up. I'll do whatever I have to do within reason. Hopefully, he actually said earlier in the week that there are set a running back that was the one guy I pasted pay. No attention to the Bambi. We're good at running back. We're fine which told you that's what they're doing. Right. There's a good chance that they will find another one right people thought they would go after running back. They did. And now they got four more picks today. We've got the draft coming for you at eleven o'clock. That's why we got a quick to our show. Jim everything in fourth a new number excuse me. A for a new number six in the two existing sevens. Right. Yeah. Four six seven seven. Well, we, you know, we like to talk fans, I was wish read somebody right now that could actually.

"You know, whatever, you deem is being the range with which you know, he needs to be paid. If you're not comfortable paying him there. And you think that you have another alternative that will give your team a chance both short term in long-term to be better. Then I'm all for the go ahead and do it. Go ahead. That's fine. I'm just saying as an overall blanket philosophy to say once a quarterback reaches upper echelon status, you just gotta let them go ahead and walk down the road and find the next guy because of this will hamstring your team as far as you being able to get other guys. I think that that's ignorant. I don't I don't think that's true. But if if the Sokoto bears of Matt Nagy feels as though look I can do better. There's someone I can get my hands on who was going to do better. Who's going to open up our offense more give us a better chance to win regardless of where where we drafted Mitch in regards to the fact of how important this position is look then go ahead and move on. I'm all for it. I'm just saying case of Russell out. It is. It is good. It is. But you don't see that takes confidence in your eye for you know, being able to evaluate your own on it. It takes confidence in your eye to be able to evaluate people on the outside who you're going to bring into your organization. It takes confidence in your ability to extract. You know, the best play you can possibly extract for them from them. Once you get once, you get them that means that you have to be confident in what your own program in which your own teaching protocol is the strength of your coaching staff to strengthen the players surrounding this kid. It takes confidence a lot of things in quite honestly, I think that that kind of sums it up for me. I don't I don't think people really have confidence in their programs, otherwise they wouldn't constantly be looking for easy ways to try to. To try to construct football teams in ways in which they could, you know, I guess this cover their rear ends and say, look, this is the way things people are doing things right now. This is the way I'm going to do things. And if it doesn't work out, I can just point to the fact that well that's the trend right now. That's the way. And and that's what seems to be happening. As far as quarterbacks discussion. The trend is an in the prevailing wisdom is in the narrative is you have to have a young quarterback in that way. You can destroy money at the rest of the roster and you increase your chances of being successful. And it just it's not that simplistic, it's not it's case by case. And as you mentioned with Mitch Trubisky. It's going to be that's going to be a very interesting case because I think that could go either way it really could go with them. I I mean, I think after the season if he's stays at the same level of play lost your he's a young guy. So I'm not, you know, who knows they should definitely at least draft draft in develop. They will be entertaining other options. There's no there's no question about it. If he doesn't and as far as like this veteran a conversation. I think you're right. Like it is on the team to draft and develop around the. Veteran and there's no better example than this things who again should have been in the Super Bowl last year. And it's just so funny how these small sample size in the NFL dictate. Our how we talk about trends when the right call is made. And it's we had to veterans..

"Press conference. Matt nagy? There's one thing right now with Kareem, and that's worrying about him as a person. I'm a guy that I've been kinda raised that way to give guys second chances third chances. But I've kind of learned that through co treaties done that several times with some people. "But I thought that Matt Nagy was a creative guy, and I didn't see a lot of creativity there. I saw a lot of conservatives conservative play calling. She in ultimately Chicago's defense has been their calling card all year and then Phillies on that. Last drive is in the red zone. And I think that the first down marker was at the wiz either at the yard liner. Yo yo like yard and a half line two yard somewhere in there. Philly gets the first down and that killed Chicago skyway to use user timeouts at that point. Or at least two of them. That was the one thing they couldn't give up and then most teams in that scenario score or just let the the the offense score. So then get the ball back. But you knew that Chicago such a proud defense. They weren't gonna do. That. And then they just give up a gimme on fourth down to golden Tate. So crummy way for it to end for them. I mean like great season. But man, let me tell you my entire family bears fans and the mood got dark after that game ended on Sunday night. So I felt bad for them. They're reminded me of when the dolphins Blewett in San Diego in the ninety four divisional around. I don't wanna talk about that game. I still do not like talking about that game for the most part is the worst playoff author murder. I was like. Most coming up on a year old at that point. So shot. That's that's a tough one for me to talk about. I get it. I'm older than you. All right. All of that is to say picks this week. And let's start. I think the opening game is Indy in Kansas City who you got. I saw a really great tweet by PF peelers at profootballtalk commenter. I forget what is actual name is. And he said oh. "Unlike any other Waddle and Silvy on ESPN one thousand wondering who the next fares defensive coordinator will be Ryan pace and Matt Nagy came out with a statement today while maybe could read it after we play Vic Fangio, but still no sign of a press conference post-season press conference. They're probably waiting until they do get an agreement or assigning in place for the defensive coordinator will be Donatello's here is he going with Fangio. Do they want someone bigger someone who can be more like Vick was where you're not just hiring a defensive coordinator, you're hiring head coach slash defence. Hey, I'm going to be over here with the offense. Yeah. You coach of the defense. So maybe this maybe you do wanna former head coach like some of these names that we've thought this worked out perfectly here. And the reason why I think it'll work out well for victims. Denver Vic Fangio did meet the media today. He was wearing a suit with a nice orange tiny talked all about it today as he thanked bunch of people and the bears front office. I want to thank the Chicago Bears Virginia and George mccaskey for running a honorable and first class operation there. It was a great experience for me there, and I had nothing but good things and good feelings from leaving there. And you can thank George. I talked to George yesterday. And I said George can I do the press conference tomorrow and my grace sweats. He calls it. My great business suit. No, you can't do that. So he gave me this title aware. So this ties compliments of George mccaskey. And Chicago Bears. I wanna thank Matt Nagy and Ryan pace for all their support through this process of the last few days, and they're great leadership that they've provided the Chicago Bears that finally culminated in a good season this year. See and Matt become a first time head coach this year and also run the offense. Besides being the head coach has been a great resource for me for what I'm about to undertake. And he he did a tremendous job for the Chicago Bears. The bears are lucky to have him. I want to thank my parents for doing something. Right. And raise me to get me that his point. My father did pass twenty seven years ago. But there's not a day go by that. I don't think of him at some point. Then my ninety two year old mother is back in Pennsylvania. And if it's snowing there today, she's out there shoveling the snow. Finally to all the players that I have worked with this would have never been possible without them buying into me and alternately. They're great play that they put on the field for our teams special. Thanks to the great group. I just left in Chicago. It's a special group a group that I thoroughly enjoyed coaching and we'll miss coaching. There you go. Vic Fangio today with the orange tie courtesy of George mccaskey meeting. The media in Denver and Ryan pace. Matt Nagy also had some comments. Nice comments for Vic Ryan pace said I want to thank for his last four years is our defensive coordinator and wish him the best as head coach of the Denver Broncos Vick was a key leader and bringing great defense back to Chicago. We will continue to build upon the foundation he helped establish under the leadership of head coach Matt Nagy and the rest of his coaching staff. We are confident in the development and improvement of a talented defensive unit. Coach Matt Nagy added. I want to congratulate Vic on his opportunity of becoming a head coach in the NFL. There are only thirty two of these jobs in the world. And I know what it means to him to get his chance in Denver. I also want to thank him for all of his help in my first season with the Chicago Bears. It is bittersweet to move on. But he has more than this opportunity. And I could not be happier for him. What do you think Mark is marching Greco enters our studio by Vic Fangio's performance? Major victory right out of the box one. The news conference made me miss them. Even more, you know, we were talking about Vic as a head coach. We didn't see it because he was an older guys defensive guy bucking the trend and also that he wouldn't wanna be doing news conferences every day. Well, he hit it out of the park today. Like, I said it maybe miss him even more. He was great with the local media there. And he just praised the bears up and down starting with George mccaskey giving him in the tie and everything. I mean, you couldn't have asked for more. But I still look his look at Denver's already got a great defense. Why would you hire a defensive guy? You're already short up in that area. Now, if kubiak does become the OC, then okay? That might be a different story in some report. Preston tried to trick him in saying oh sewing, Gary kubiak becomes the OC, blah, blah, blah. He goes, wait a minute. You jumping way ahead. You're trying to give me a sucker punch here. You know? And he just put everybody in their place. He was terrific. You know, remember when he said, I haven't prepared anything. I'm worried about this game with the. Eagles. And he goes, well, you know, the other night, I just kind of put together what I do when I gave Elway bone. That's it. So I mean, he's so refreshing in that he's old school blunt in your face. But still so affable talking about his dad said his dad died twenty seven years ago still thinks about him every day. Moms ninety two shocking Pennsylvania's shaller's now. By the way. I mean, the the kubiak thing is is. I mean, if it doesn't happen. It'll be the biggest surprise in NFL history. I mean, that's a given. I'm sure that was always mindset, you know, core. Okay. Here's the best of both worlds. As far as I'm concerned. There's probably a prerequisite for anyone get in the door. I think it's great setup. He can focus on the defense and still be the head coach and can turn everything over to kubiak on the offense. That's why I got to get away from the rod mirror comparison that you don't want that to ever happen to Vik and Denver what would happen in Marielle. Ian, Detroit these days over a much better team better team. It's a different situation. You know, I think Vic can be more of a CEO. So, yeah, it's going to be awesome. And then back here I love Brian lacquers quote, saying, hey, look, everybody thinks defense just going to move on. There are gonna be some different elements. There's gotta be a little bit different approach because Vic was such a plug in guy. He wasn't an overly aggressive. And by that. I mean, there wasn't a whole lot of exotic blitzes now again he didn't need to because he had the horses upfront to be able to create pressure consistently without having to bring an extra pass rusher. So, but maybe somebody who takes over will have a different approach, Sylvia. Did you talking about Bob Babich was really the only guy that kind of messed up. Right after Ron Rivera -solutely before they finally settled on Marinelli, they'd one year of baggage. And then I believe lovey took over. And he's like, okay, Bob. You're you're not good. I have to call the defensive plays. And it was too much for loved handle being the head coach and calling the plays. And finally, they gave Marinelli remember didn't want it. I don't know if you guys remember that. And now he's become a longtime defensive did they have any injuries that year? Or was it just it was I don't know. But earlier loved them had them at the hall of fame presenting him. But it was a good position. Coach not a good coordination. How long was he the coordinator? Season. And then that's win. Lovey took over the reins. And then it didn't work that way either. And then finally Rodman Elliott took it by the way by just check now. Bob Babich, and I and Charles Barkley and Cindy Crawford and others share birthday February twentieth. Really new years older. You got one coming up here, buddy. Fifty two. Khalil Mack birthday. It's a good one. Okay. So what's polio? Max undisclosed injury. The pro Bono Pro Bowl. Well, it doesn't matter. It's probably I don't wanna play in the Pro Bowl injury. I got no problem with that. I don't either I have no problem with anybody. Skipping. The Pro Bowl. It's kind of a weird thing, you know, all star games fit. Every other sport except football. You know, seriously? The Pro Bowl is always kind of weird. It's like you're playing at half speed. You don't wanna get hurt? You know, it's a great acknowledgement maybe to just be skills competition or something instead of an actual football game. What about the guy that tore his achilles playing football on the beach? Robert edwards. Running back wasn't his achilles. Actually, his knee. He also lost his leg. Well, if you've ever played football on the beach, you know, how they can be devastating all star games. They didn't share this yet. The new NBA votes are out the new tallies. Did you have you seen? How remember last year last week? It was a big deal care that a lot of people the Derrick rose is so high. Conference. He is still three hundred thousand votes ahead of James harden. For the guards it Steph number one Derrick rose number two, James harden, three hundred thousand votes back. You got Russell Westbrook is number four. Well, that's a reflection of the Houston fan base versus the Minnesota fan base isn't Minnesota. Or is it China Chicago minister, China, it's Jonah? That's where he's he. He sells all his shoes. He's the new Stefan marberry. The way. Did you hear Stefan marberry is quote about Zion? Williamson he said he's going to destroy the planet, and he's better than LeBron already back back down a little bit. Yeah. I think we all are I would love Zion here, but you know, him having the same athleticism as LeBron doesn't mean he's as good of a basketball player. I tell us more than a dunker. That's for sure he can handle the ball. It's unbelievable. Watch him. Bring the ball up and his passing skills are spectacular. But yeah, let's just pump the brakes on that a little. This is Mike Klis. Mike Clancy's A longtime Denver Broncos writer, and he grew up here actually went to high school. He said the dinner Monday with John Elway that helped Fangio get the job was marinas bakery in Highwood, which featured authentic Sicilian food might traditional Tony and Meatball in marinara sauce. Fangio said, I think he went with the bolan as I know places, but I've never been there. I've been by there. I've never been there. I've never either never heard of that my buddy you still in the shrimp up there. And all those restaurants were fantastic and Highwood nightingales is still there. There's. So have you seen my most recent tweet? Now, what did he say about Vic Fangio's banjo today said that Fangio is not a politician immediately evident in his opening remarks this ties compliments of Georgia mccaskey and the Chicago Bears and quote, a bears orange tie Broncos orange authenticity is great. But maybe Fangio can get a tie with burnt orange tinge of that see. Nit-pick? Oh, jeez. Leave milan. One of the hokies things is when the coach gets hired on that team that he's gotta wear the tied at matches the color. I've a feeling that'll be the last time the Vic Fangio's wearing. Talk. If they they they announced the new bears head coach, and he's wearing green and gold, you you are. That's what you do you wear the colors, but that's such a college basketball. Coach. Thank you. See ROY Williams has got ninety five different versions of North Carolina. Blue and Brad Underwood same thing, orange and blue hasn't gone down. There is that going on. I couldn't happen to a nicer guy. He's got a big ROY Williams fan. Going well, either they're gonna get crushed by Michigan tonight, Brian's and Kerry, Brian you're on with Mark Jean grecko say Hello. Good evening. John good. How are you man? Good. I got just wanted to touch base real quick on you know, when the bears lost Buddy Ryan in eighty five. They brought in Vince Tobin and eighty six eighty seven. About anti ninety. They were in the top five. I think in eighty six they gave up even fewer points than it did an eighty five and I saw it when you talk about credence with the existing players that they have how come nobody's bringing up. Dom Capers was a three four and had a heck of a career here. He's been out of football now for one or two years. But I still don't think he would be able to plug him basically plug and play with his scheme because he does scheme incredibly, well, they thought he was the DC of the Packers from oh nine to two thousand seventeen he hasn't been he didn't coach this year. Look, they they fired him to hire Mike Patton because they they they didn't like what they were seeing from their defense. So I don't know he does play three four. He's had a a nice career in the National Football League didn't go. So well at the end up at Green Bay. He was reluctant assistant and successful for a long time. But I think, you know, the fascination with him as kind of run out like you say have nice career. He's got that comb over that's attached to his head. I'm not sure. Calmer. He comes over from below is year. I thought. I thought that it was a peace with Israel. I think it's I think it's just a comb over really I'll have to check. Let's go back and look at some pictures images. Strange when at the age of sixty eight you have significantly more hair than you did when you were fifty four. That's the first town just dropping the part down. You know, it's like back fat. You would love you would love. Greg Williams erects Ryan. No, no. I would not why neither one of them. Give you some by Greg Williams of psycho. He's right now, you're looking for a sound want him and Rex Ryan's TV guy. Okay. And I've always liked wrecks in front of the camera. But you know, like I said when he was coaching buffalo you love a Monday through Friday hate him on Sunday. Even as a coordinator. No. Plus, you don't I heard Dickerson talking about this the other day, and he is spot on Jeff's saying, you don't want a big showman allowed mouth the guy looking for attention. Matt Nagy runs the show. Okay. And since when have you heard from any other assistance on his staff, they just quietly do their job? Rex would be a disruption. There's something to that oppose in love Rex Ryan. But. I mean, he's his motto is be you be you than Rex Ryan. And I don't know. I think a lot of his enact with Rex. And we don't need him to be himself with Matt let everybody else be themselves. What did he comes here in? He B's Vic Fangio he B's Vic Fangio what if he's not going to happen. Why take the chance? Why experiment? Rex.

"If you are chasing the trend by the time, you get past the one a initial patient. Hey, right of Sean McVeigh to this guy. Who knows Sean McVay this guy who worked with them once this guy who's friends with them? And may it rubbed off through as Moses whatever by the time you've gotten to the seventh or eighth guy that you're doing and you're hiring in this image. What kind of Xerox, Xerox, Xerox, Xerox, you getting are you actually better off doing something like hiring Fangio who's a proven commodity who over the course of nineteen years or whatever it is has made every team better defensively. And then bring in a good offensive guy to pair with him. Is that a better choice than I'm going to chase a trend in by the time? I dive into it the McVeigh's and the and the the Matt Nagy and everybody are gone. Yes. And the other part of this. I'm going to have my Cleveland is. Development not just a Baker Mayfield. But of Freddie kitchens if he's going to continue to call place, for example, they had tremendous success from a person that had no no play calling experience in the past. So coordinators had no book on how to defend, Freddie, kitchens. And the book is still developing on how to defend Baker Mayfield when you give coordinators and entire summer to look at that, analyzed their trends, we have no idea how these guys developed through the trends, not just a quarterback. But now also the coach I mean, that's another factor. They could hit a wall. And it's not because they weren't great this year. It's because the NFL in success continued success in the NFL is about your ability to over two out develop the people the game plan against you such a great point. Because didn't we already sort of see that start to happen with Gough Gough was bad McVeigh came in changed him turned him into a guy that we talked about his MVP candidate defenses started to catch up and figure them out. He started to have multiple interceptions and no touchdowns over the course of a couple of weeks. And now we're wondering if the system quarterback, right? I think a lot of people still believe in golf, but we've? Seen that. There are adjustments being made around the league to what we're seeing from guys like McVeigh he hasn't even wanna playoff game yet. We're hiring an entire eight teams out of the NFL in the image of a guy, and I'm not defending. I I will defend his genius. And how great he seemed. But you're right. This is a short sample size. And this could be very quick, you know, back in two years with another eight or nine coaching openings this trend is certainly gonna be an interesting one to follow Spain and Fitz on ESPN radio Sarah Spain and Jason Fitz coming up. Jeff Darlington was close to Adam gates in Miami. He broke the news along with Adam Schefter of the jet tire. He's going to join us next. All right. This is the vibe Adam gaces walking into the jets headquarters with right bring it on. I'm coming in with a new attitude and bringing a fresh face to this more than franchise. Just try to ignore everything. I did in Miami. All right, cool. Spain and Fitz on ESPN radio the espionage app and Sirius XM channel eighty Sarah Spain and Jason Fitz..

"I'm with you there. I on the flipside of that Josh Rosen who you and I were we were lacking step here. We thought Josh Rosen was the most NFL ready. He was by far. I thought the worst of the young quarterbacks last year. I think that this higher is basically tailor-made to help this kid reach the potential that we thought he could reach. What are your thoughts? I it's the same because of shaman vein. The Rams Matt Nagy in the in the in the Chicago Bears. You see that leflore not necessarily in Green Bay. But it's about scoring points. That's what this leagues all about. And people say what you will look at the defense plate last week between Dallas and the ravens. Yeah. But the teams score all the points where at home, relaxing and Chilin New Orleans. The rams. The chiefs. Yeah. You score points. Look what it gets you. It gets you a week off or you don't have to play in a while car around. So I say that because when you look at we're Josh Rosen and that team is at in Arizona, George they want to keep their cap space. So they need Josh Rosen the play better. So you hire a coach makes him play better. Because now you get to keep that seventy million kept space. You could spend it on players and not have to worry about buying another quarterback. Yeah. For sure I don't think there's any question about that. The cardinals have not to go too far on the cardinals. But the cardinals have some pieces, right? Like they drafted Josh to be the guy right there. These guy receive in Christian kirksey, still got Larry FitzGerald, David Johnson at running back. They gotta show up. The all Jone Jones Patrick Peterson Hedrick Peterson's not going anywhere left tackle left tackles good to write the left tackle by God. Yes. But he's good. He's good too. So that's what's trending in regards to cliff kings bearing USC next a former ram offense coordinator in title only. But he did coach QB's I believe as well to Matt leflore is now going to be the headband in Green Bay with Aaron Rodgers do you like that mix? Kirk. That's the tough one because he was the offense coordinator last year for Tennessee with Marcus mariota. They actually were worse on offense and they were the year before. So this was more of how do we get a guy that can be in line with Aaron Rodgers? I think that's what this one's really. Remember people joked about oh, you know, Sean McVay is going to be, you know, Jared goff's buddy with this one. I think has to be the similar situation with with Matla floor bringing the buddy of Aaron Rodgers or those two guys working together because he was an offense. According to the Rams doubles title only there. Offense coordinator, Sean McVeigh, but he had that title in this year when he actually called plays offense. Wasn't as good as they were. So I'm still scratching my head on this George. Yeah. I'm not I'm not necessarily keen on it. I like the idea in theory. Right. I don't know how much I love it in practicality with Aaron Aaron can be a little difficult at rhymes. And look all great minds are right. Lebron isn't always easy to to work with right? That's historically been the case in Aaron is very much like LeBron in that sense. But it is going to be interesting. I think that at least he brings fresh ideas to the table, which is something Mike McCarthy was not bringing clearly Aaron was tired fit that fan based. That's that's a that's a college style fan base that they're all about football. There is no other sport in Green Bay. It is all football when you get off at that airport the Green Bay airport. They don't have brochures and pictures of hey, come check out this theme park. You know, it is about cheese. In visiting lambofield. That's. You're listening to Caspian Los Angeles. So one last football story here in what's trending, which is Bruce Arians is going who was formerly of the Zona cardinal. You're off to do basically broadcasting for Fox Sports. And now he's going to Tampa Bay bucks with Todd Bowles as his defensive coordinator worked with Todd Bowles before. So they're going to the bucks to work with James. Do you like that move?.

"Not to make this national show feel home ary by talking about my Chicago Bears too much. In fact, I think I've downplayed them all season long, and it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that I just decided screw and I am going all in on the bandwagon for this team. And we're going to start bringing more Chicago talked to the Airways because they go to for you. Yeah. Earned it. And I think I actually haven't given them enough credit and that brings us to our next guest on the shell Pennzoil performance line. ESPN the MAG feature writer Wayne draperies just wrote a great feature on the Chicago Bears. Head coach Matt Nagy and Wayne banks from. Making time for us. I love this story. And I love the fact that it was about a decade ago that Matt Nagy found himself out of football. Not sure what to do and trying to become a guy working in a home building operation. Tell us about this point in Matt Nagy journey. It's pretty wild story, sir. But I'll be honest. I almost just as impressed by the restraint you showed at. How was that? Professional, man. I'm a pro. All right. All right. Yeah. I'm Matt story of you know, the arena league folding, you know, about eleven years ago and deciding to literally put football in his past, and he talked was wife Stacey. And and they came in agreement. The best thing for their family of four boys was into starting new career, and he literally had to basically beg- this prominent executives in the new home construction operation in Pennsylvania to give him a job that the guys named Larry wisdom told me he had zero intention of ever hiring that he had zero experience is time and the economy, we're in a recession, and it was really a bad time for real estate. And he goes how in the world am I gonna hire this guy with no experience, even forget higher go to dinner with them? But he agrees to do it. And as many of us have seen. Especially here in Chicago over the course of the last year. Matt sort of charismatic personality there's convincing ways there's a dhoti to communicate and kind kinda rally people around him, energize, the sky, and and got a job out of it where believe it or not. He was pretty darn good selling homes. Wayne, obviously when you set out to write a story there's research, and there are things that probably you expect to learn about. But what surprised you most about Matt Nagy in your research and reporting on this story. You know, the thing that surprised me feel was just, you know, everybody when when a team is six, so, you know, this everybody says, only the positives right about the coaches and the players, you know, everyone was destined for this moment, and and so on and so forth. But when it came to Matt at the people that I talked to the way the way they've Ouch for him the way, they speak for him was really really impressive. I mean, I spoke to you know, Brett vizsla Jim of the chiefs briefly this week. And I asked him I said, look, I said Matt still I think thirty youngest coach in the NFL right now. You know, what what is his fuming? What is his potential as a coach? 'cause you know, we've seen a lot of coaches come in. I mean, you can say, you know, dick Gerard come in. Chicago has a great season. And they never sort of get back to that. So I was curious what he would say. And not only did he see you know, that the history was the sky's the limit of. It'd been shave. But but that's what he said. He said, look he goes someone with his leadership and his ability and his knowledge of the game. He said I knew he would be a darn good coach he just needed to get the break and the bears game that break. So just the way people talk about Matt and sort of Ouch. You're really really impressed me talking to Wayne Reyes ESPN dot com about Chicago Bears. Coach Matt Nagy, you know, the bears obviously gave him that break in terms of the head coach position. But back when he was working for that homebuilding company. He got an offered for an internship with the eagles, and he.

"Challenges for any human anytime. You get a new town in life. It can wake you up it can inspire you. But there's just gonna be stuff, and he just doesn't know. And I think that's going to be somewhat of a challenge. But I actually think it'll be healthy in the one thing's clear that I know people that have been working with Mike that have been around. Mike, Mike is a big ego. Mike gonna walk into this building in view himself as every bit of the equals, John and that and that aspect for Gruden if he's ever going. To have a chance to exceed he needed a big ego guy. They can look at them. Like, no, John. I disagree with you in a in a healthy way. And for that. I know people think I'm a raider hater, I actually find the higher, obviously interesting. But I do think there is a chance for succeed. Hey, let's let's touch on a guy that I went in on a couple of weeks ago when he fire John D Filipo, and I basically said for those that didn't listen, I would imagine a decent amount of you did that I called Mike Zimmer dinosaur said he was living in the past. And yesterday he was taken to the woodshed by Matt Nagy in Victorian GIO Matt Nagy and innovative young offense of coach that didn't even necessarily need to win the game. The Vikings had to win the bears beat them knocked them out of the playoffs. And I heard I'll give credit where credit is due. Kevin Clark friend of the show friend of mine a metal couple times through Twitter on the ringer. And he and he claimed on his podcast, and I agree that this. Vikings team in the new era post, you know, the two thousand eleven CVA moving forward is probably the biggest flop of of any team over that six seven year period. When you factor in how good their roster was on paper. They'd had previous success of the playoffs multiple times, given how much money they bought the quarterback for then not making the playoffs is is a all-time disaster. And I think Mike Zimmer deserves a majority of the blame was not. I I am lucky that through social media in Twitter. I got to meet Colin coward, develop a friendship, and then he asked me to do this. But the reason that I'm even doing this is because Colin coward who made his name in radio. Well before anything was streamed well before radio shows on television talked into a Mike that's how Colin coward became huge. And then he became over the last ten years, the biggest voice. Voice in sports, talk radio. What did he do? Did. He just just gonna keep doing the same old thing. No he expanded. Hell he changed networks. Two years ago. Went to FOX his podcast group. He created a podcast network. He does shows like he did a show. He did his radio show on television. He even does a Saturday podcast the majority of the year during the fall, it's the gambling lines with RJ bell during the offseason. He interviews. Interesting people. He's just always open.
