They made their parents about these kids care about name image and likeness winning the national championship now. How to our uniforms. Look they know more about chain they know right would should we put the back of the name on the jersey which we never have and went national champs. Can they play on sundays. What are you doing the old days of. Hey that's not how we do it. Well guess what that kid has zero idea. Who charley whiteness. Unless you grew up went to san fernando high school gym basically laying out though is exact reason why you don't hire thing that's what he would have to learn that you you've got to instill eight the tradition here at sc and of course you want tradition known but after you've given them the thirty second tradition speech we'll do you support how you feel about name. Image likeness. Are we going to be playing on national. Tv am. I gonna win a national title now because guess what the ring. That matt liner or john robinson has from nine hundred seventy eight. And they're saying who's john robinson you know what i'm saying right that that's the transition you're going to have to make and they want it to be really cool and they want locker rooms to have tv. You know they want all of it. And they want the lounge to have playstation. I hate to say it. You can keep tradition. But you better understand that. This is a different athlete that history and traditions are fine and dandy but that can't be the longest part of your recruiting process. We got an alumni in the arrogance at my university of fans thing. We gotta do that way. No actually we..

"With the usc. Quarterbacks i mean how how. How is matt barkley. Still in the josh. Wrote the valet quarterback josh rosen. The league Matt liner triggers example. My god they're all all my forever five. He was into league forever. Wait so you guys both on Your both on chicago hundred percent And we are doing a lot of agreeing I like that means. We're going to win some money. All right arizona at new orleans new orleans minus three and a half minus one ninety on the money line arizona plus one sixty thirty four is the total munaf off. They were dancing after the last. W i think james got low and then eight the w None of this was metaphorically. Speaking of course I love jamie says a fantasy quarterback. I love it what he could bring to the team. A shawn payne just doesn't give a fuck about. Preseason why are they favored. yeah i don't know. I think we're pretty sure that winston will be the starter week one of the regular season I think is the more important game possibly for arizona right. Because i know i think we can say that kingsbury is on the hot seat. Override for sure right and then. I think that there's some. There's some positional battle still going on arizona there so from what i've been reading so i think that they'll put more of an effort there The dancing will not be happening in the locker room for the saints. This weekend i'll take care asari arizona of the points. Terrell you agree. Oh no i'm laying points. Qb one qb. One with james man He's they still haven't on starter. And i feel like that's probably loves the most disrespected. James might be. The second most disrespected the fact that he's still in a qb battle with hasten hill. There's a kiwi battle going on with tyson hill night in so absolutely not. I'm rolling with The saints here. I think they'll get some good quarterback play from both quarterbacks and they'll go longer in the game yeah i mean hopefully the simplicity. Simplicity of the cliff. Kitchens offense isn't too Simple even for the preseason. But i'm also going to murray. I'm also gonna take arizona because i i just. I'm not getting behind this new orleans team. I let's move on tampa houston five. Pm on the west coast tampa minus four and a half minus to ten on the money line. Houston plus one seventy five. Thirty six and a half is the total of course Munoz lets you stop it. Of course the new head coach there in houston learned from the very best and john harbaugh. He's doing it on the field in the preseason. Of course i'm gonna take the points here with the houston. Texans moon off my crazy. No sir. let's in his feet of because we're not going to have very many wins during the season. I think this is gonna be interesting kramer. I know we've been going back and forth about texans. Which are the texans going to have. More wins at preseason or the regular season. We're going to have to have a. That's a great if they go three. Oh that's pretty hilarious. Because i mean. I know they're win. Totals four but man. You gotta i almost feel like i want to take it down after they all the load up all these winds in the preseason turnover you on the texas do oh absolutely bucks have had huge spreads against the bengals and the titans and lost. Both games outright. So i'm definitely right. And what the texas here. I think they'll one hundred percent have more wins in the preseason than regular season. Actually texans are going to be this year's jacksonville where they first win and week one and then they lose every single game after that we agree on the first one and by the way i have a more breaking news to report a friend of the program. Scott browser disclosed that. He is going to be going onions. And taking the texans as week one survivor. Pick so That's a great. That's a great one. I mean i like it if you if you get right if i'm if i'm multi entry survivor pool. I'm one hundred percent firing on an entry with houston week one because man that would be an advantage all right. We're on the next up six oh five. Pm on the west coast the los angeles rams head to denver where the broncos are minus eight and a half minus four ten on the money. Line rams plus three ten thirty three and a half the total. I know mcvay doesn't care about winning the preseason but denver just announce their starter and the rams y. You could argue. They have some talent on that team. So out of principle. Gimme the rams plus a and a half throw. Tell me why you would. You're going to tell you take the points here since you like.

There is another team playing right now that is ranked It's towards the end of the second quarter. Texas A and M leads 24 to 13 on Tennessee and that is the top 25 scoreboard. You have an update there on the Dr Pepper Challenge from the Big 10 championship game We just saw. I guess they did this yesterday, and I didn't see it. But what they did is they had Two can set up and Matt Liner and Brady Quinn both threw footballs in and then they had the two competitors that two students on a screen and they each got $50,000. Now who won Quinn or Lionheart really key? I didn't see a spore Blinder. I didn't see a scoreboard. Last night it was liner versus Bush and later like, of course, watch again. "On this edition of after hours, the home show Your top three must haves on the Thanksgiving table. Rank them now. I don't know. I suspect that even if I said this, people would still do it, however, where they wanted, So if you wanted to do this With the turkey assumed you can. But I also know that a lot of people don't eat turkey at Thanksgiving. Some people go out to eat. Some people have ham. Some people are from you know different cultures were think Thanksgiving. Turkey is not a part of how they grew up. And so however it is that you eat your Thanksgiving dinner. What do your top three must have? The reason I say that as I have a friend who is from Chile. She's been part of a couple of the teams that I've led to Cuba and they do not eat Turkey at Thanksgiving. They have much more of Ah Chilean flair and so Maura of ah more of Hispanic type of twist to their Thanksgiving dinner. They do celebrate it, but it's not quite like what I grew up with. Also, she makes trail aging on Thanksgiving as opposed to pie. No, I load relation, especially the way that she makes it, but But you know what? Producer Dave? She's also the one that I just ordered. The pumpkin would be pies from now you're gonna love this. When I first taste tested them they were many will be pies. I purchased a dozen to support her. And so I could share them with people. They're not many anymore. They're giant pumpkin will be pies with maple cream cheese filling. I'm gonna need to get involved in this process. You will. I'm going to get your friend my address. I don't know. I had to go pick them up. That's fine. Whatever. Whatever works, I'll drive. Don't excite delicious. Yeah. So I'm going to take them to visit. I have a small group of friends that I'm getting together with on Wednesday evening, But then I will bring you A couple of the would be pies, the pumpkin movie, But I did taste test. Um, of course I had to. They are phenomenal. Oh, my gosh s Oh, yes, I will not withhold pumpkin would be pie from you. Don't worry, they'll be. It's your Thanksgiving gift, actually, Thank you very thankful for them. And that's there is the answer to the question boom would be pious number one and three. Don't think I'm gonna have three for you. But you know, you could at least have to it's after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS Sports Radio, You're already answering the question. Sending your top three must haves on the Thanksgiving table. Martin on Twitter, a low radio green bean casserole, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy and rolls. I mean rolls is a whole separate category. You don't get to put it with your mashed potatoes. And then he says, sweet potato casserole, so he's much more about the side, some of them Maura traditional, some of them not quite as much. Let's see another tweet. If you want to use your name, you're gonna have to include your name because I'm not reading your twitter handle. But here's another tweet green make green bean casserole. Carrots, he says, cooked under the turkey and then stuff and muffins. This is bad. I should not be talking about all this food because it's gonna make me super hungry. And then the poses up on Facebook as well. All right, 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. Let's talk to Dave, Who's in Dayton, Ohio. Dave? What do you think? Amy, I, um Uh, The dressing. It's crazy. It's a special dressing. Uh huh. So it's funny, funny, different parts of the country. Call it dressing some parts. Call it stuffing, but I know what you mean. Cranberry sauce. Okay, good old Little fashion apple pie. Okay, And I told I told producer Day My Thanksgiving is I'm getting ready to propose to my girl out of her whole family to marry me. I am just might go excited. Are you nervous? What if she says no. You know she's going to say Yeah, it's her first time. This will be my third time. Okay. I'm gonna have her son recorded. I'm gonna have to have the girls are daughters asked me the question. Are you sure? I've met her mom. Four weeks ago. I talked to her for years. And I'm just so absolutely in love with this girl. Is this not funny guy, and I just I love your show. You're very professional. Work third shift, and I just I know you do a lot of homework and you're such a joy. Listen to thank you, sir. I appreciate that and congratulations to you. I think it's going to be a really happy Thanksgiving. That's wonderful. It sure is. Thank you so much. Thanks, Dave 855 to 1 to 4 to 27855 to 1 to 4, CBS. Let's see. Let's talk to Chris, who's in Florida? Welcome to after hours. Hi. I am so I'm sure I assume that the turkey is just getting Yes. Okay, so I'm gonna go with stuffing mass potatoes and bourbon. Way haven't come in, did you? You? I did not. You would take bourbon over, Say, your pumpkin pie. Yes, I would definitely. Maybe it made because I only drink the good stuff and not I don't get punk apart in the grocery store. Gotcha. Okay, well, yeah, that's unique, Chris. There you go. Maybe sometimes, I think, though, getting together with family and friends, especially if you have one of those crazy family members, it might require bourbon. Oh requires bourbon is being a Jaguar's fan. Which unfortunately, I am even though I love him to death, Okay? Talking about, Um I don't see the jets of Jack's falling in the draft order, so it's Let's assume that Lawrence Field, you're going to go one and two, depending on what happened. But my question is they're both juniors right now. And do you think both suggesting the Jaguars are run so poorly? That they would say, Why would I go to the bottom of the barrel as a rookie with team that historically don't build for success around someone like me or I could go to my respective college town where basically I'm treated like a God, I'm going to win. And I could roll the dice on a team that's better run organization, leaving them who has a bad year and the next year. Hopefully I get there. But Matt Liner tried that. And he dropped 10 spots in the cost of 20 million. So what would you do if you were there? I don't see them going. Back to school, but it's interesting I could I would be shocked if they did. I would be surprised if they did you talk about the potential for another season on campus, and I know Matt Lad. It's a classic example. But obviously Trevor Lawrence.

"Going here. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Terrific. So, look, you were obviously behind the eight ball coming in without your quarterback without one of your top receivers. Give us a sense of first of all health. How long before game time Did you find out? You wouldn't be able to use these guys. And how did it affect what you were able to Dio Oh, boy, I can't remember. I can't remember the exact time but I think it was about three hours before game time. Maybe Um, maybe 3.5 So there. Of course, there's a little bit of a scramble just trying to see Contact tracing all that stuff that we have to talk about. And so that took a while and then communicating with the Pac 12 and our administration of San For an organ. I'm trying to find out what the best thing to do. Watch everybody, uh, decided that the best thing that he wants to continue to play the football game. Um and then from there Hey, we don't have to change our game plan very much. What with our guys. But, you know, missing your starting quarterback and you're starting receiver was pretty significant yard passer First day since Matt Liner in 2000 for Davos, Sweeney, you have likely first overall pick Heisman Trophy front runner Go out. He's 31 On one. You trot out the number one ranked, grossed out quarterback from last year's class, and he throws for over 400 in his first rope. Name Ian Bulk 19 out of 36 to 80 just took his team 91 yards on a place on both teams are still on their sideline clubs and not only number one line, they have a 36 game regular season win streak. They've won 28 games you have one time out team has their challenge remaining. Use the same point your calls. You get a choice of offense or defense. Well, when we get to that point, your call first called happening. It is a head of defense. Ball first down that you like to call it I like to call like First of all player could have.

It's Baltimore Orioles playing second gave you're going to pick a team to do it again. So I guess it's Gloria. He's still searching for his first big league hit. He went Oh, for three. I don't know if he got a hit after that, but the team one he's searching easy me searching for a long time. Just ask Michael Jordan. Yeah. Through his bloodshot eyes. Can we speak of this guy in the same breath is Deon Sanders as Bo Jackson? Can we? He's a dual sport athlete. He is a dual sport athlete When you think about it, By the way, if anyone can convert Eddie Alvarez into a star, it's the Marlin said the Marlins have Dunmore with left. The models have tried to be bad. Yeah, they're like we want to be terrible. We're trying to tank and we can't stop winning. The Lions are the lines. The Marlins tomorrow line went that that was a Freudian slip. The Marlins are the Lions of baseball. The Marlins have, like gotten rid of Mohr VPs than teams have ever had, right. In 2014 Alvarez became the first Cuban American male speedskater to make a U. S Olympic team. He was a silver medalist in the men's 5000 meter Short track relay at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi. That is so impressive is a winter Olympic athlete. People don't understand the sacrifices that Olympic athletes have to make. That's four years before you. That's your life. You're not getting paid. It's It's a terrible, spartan life that you have to live for one a couple of weeks of four years of making your life a sport not getting paid. The only people can relate to that is every college football player. I mean, is Apollo. Anton Ono gonna Are They gonna call him next? Maybe you crouch pretty. Well, Maybe you could be a catcher. Handle the pitching staff if you want Eric Heiden's Where's he? Five gold medals. That's right, becoming until the infield with the Oaken A's he has heightened, actually became a professional cyclist and was in the Tour de France in 1986. And he's not going to make a Nazi gesture when you're coming in the dugout. Alright, guys, one hour down in the books, Matt Liner on the other side of this great Louis, his own Matt Winer, We're going to talk about the n B a bubble and maybe get into a little Lou Williams with him and talk hockey later, and maybe as again it's the Sklar brothers. "Until this little place is definitely going to go under if they don't have a creative solution, and my guess is they don't have a lot of overhead to figure out creative solutions. So what do they do? Can't go inside. So The moment the weather got warm. They bought themselves a big, sturdy tent, a big canopy tent, the type that you would see for high school graduations or college parties or what have you reunions? Metal poles. Into sunk into their parking lot. Big tent ropes staked into the parking lot. And Even with social distancing, they can get 10 to 12 tables under there. And my wife When I went theater day rainstorm came in rain coming down wind whipping through But you know what? This team the servers this restaurant? Hey, we're going to keep plowing through. And they could have been nicer. The food was just a cz. Good as it ever wass and they're making things happen Creatively. Okay, We can't do this. We've got to do this. What we invest in. How do we pivot? How do we be flexible? And thank, thank goodness because I love this place. But if they weren't serving anybody over the course of the summer, they're toast. They figured out a way to get it done, and I hope it's enough to keep them in business. Because this is a hardworking, amazing restaurant with a great staff and great food. They earned it, They deserve it. You know, you've got to be flexible. Don't just say a pandemic that we can't do it. We're seeing this across our nation. We're seeing the ingenuity across the entire country. I don't want to hear Urban Meyer, Matt liner and the other people in college football. Just say No, I can't do it. Can you spring football now, But there's no there's no chance. You've got to find creative solutions, and what's not gonna happen is we're not going to play football on time this year in the fall college wise that just the timeline does not line up. Unless you're not gonna have practice starting August 1 day, you're going to practice August 15th and even then, that feels like Well, you got a month to get this thing under control. But what you can do is find creative scheduling solutions.

"It's over at the turn of the season turn of the year. Rather, they take a couple of months off. They get back to spring football. They trained for a few weeks. They have a spring football game, and then they go dark again for the rest of the spring and the summer until they return again in August in early August. It's just the way it's always been, and this is the way they're conditioned to think it can't be that way anymore. Not right now, because time is no longer on our side or their side. The fact of the matter is, if you wanted college football as an A D, a college coach would have you to come back on a normal time line. It's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen because we're still dealing with spikes in positive tests. Forget whether it's safe or not for college kids to get it. OK, let's not Let's not get that discussion is just about when you have a spiking positive rate right now, and things are not calming down. Instead, they're inflamed when you have all the states that are desperate for college football being right now, Pete Corona virus time you've got three weeks basically to get it in check before you're trying to start. College football's camps, I think could happen even if everybody in South Carolina everybody in Florida everybody in Texas and everybody everywhere. The desperately wants college football that's having spiking cases wore a mask today, even if that happened today. You ain't getting turned around in three weeks enough that it's totally safer for kids to come back to play football. That's not the timeline we know. That we're talking about multiple weeks. We're talking about 4568 weeks to actually turn around the cruise ship. It doesn't happen in three weeks. You're still gonna have the after effects of this explosion of cases. So the fact is time's not on our side anymore for the regular schedule, which is why I believe it's inevitable that all of these conferences will cancel their nonconference season. We've already seen to power conferences. There's just not enough time you need to buy the extra month of time. And what you have to hope is if today everybody wore masks and everybody social distance and everybody did their part. It was responsible to everybody actually took this seriously everywhere across the country. That if you bought the extra month of time well till we start practicing September 1 foreign October 1 start well, now that's in play. But again, you're going to turn around this freight ship. You're gonna turn around this cruiser in the next seven weeks, six weeks that by August 1, everything feels safe and you can get back to normal And then I'm sorry by September 1. Do you think it's six weeks by September 1. Everybody is feeling good and safe, and kids could be back on campus and everything is hunky Dorey. But we could start playing football October 1 in real fashion. That doesn't feel realistic either. But at least that's an outside possibility. What's not an outside possibility is playing this season. On time we ate Get in college football the first week in the Labor Day, that's just not happening. It's just not enough time. So too may. What you have to start doing is finding really creative solutions. And here's one part of Pete Familes piece of Yahoo sports That really got my antenna up and said this now we're talking because we've got to be creative here. You've got to figure out ways. Two. Kick the can down the road to punt on the decision right now and to figure out different ways, because right now the kitchen's to hot And one of the models that Pete writes about. Is a shortened season late fall. Which then has a second half of the season in the spring. No. Now this is something that I think should be workable. Let's hypothetically say that you had an eight game regular season. OK, that you just felt like you will have 88 regular season games, all in conference, And so that satisfies our rivalries. It satisfies our conference partners. It satisfies our Our leagues to decide who's a champion. It decides. It also satisfies our television contracts because you can play an eight game regular season and hypothetically the two sides play championship game and you declare who the champion is, you might not feed into a bowl season. You might not feed into a a championship playoff, but at least you would have a big 10 champ at a C C champion SEC champ would have you ate Game regular season and A championship game, Could you Play four games. At the end of this fall. Let's just say you get four games in in December. And then you take a break, and then you try to get four games in in same March. And maybe 1/5 championship game the first week in April. Now, if you're talking about calendar year of football You satisfied a season within this academic year, September to April or May, and you've given yourself enough leeway enough runway to get a regular fall season in hypothetically. Next fall 2021. Now, maybe if you say Well, we played four games this year. This this calendar year in April or March. We can't play a full 15 games scheduled, mean Alice you whoever plays for national championship actually plays 15 games 12 regular season, the 13th Conference championship game within two playoff games. You might say we can't have played four or five games in March or April and then another 15 in the fall, OK? What about 28 game seasons? Okay. Or if Ellis you played 15 You played four in the spring, and then you have a 10 game schedule that's hopefully pretty close to normal in the fall. That all told it's 14 games. And at a conference championship game and maybe a bowl game or something along those lines. But now we're talking about being creative and finding outside the box solutions and I hope beyond hope. At the college football power that be because they've done something a certain way for 125 years. Don't simply malice in and say, Well, there's no way to do it because when I hear Matt Liner and Urban Meyer Dismissed out of pocket Well, you can't play spring football. I sink in my chair a little bit. Why Don't just tell me It's too dangerous. Okay, let's delve into the metrics off of this. Let's delve into how it can be done before you tell me out of pocket. It can't be done. You can't do that. Because there's got to be creative solutions. That's what the entire world is doing right now. Creative solutions. We tell you a little story about Mexican restaurant that I have in my neighborhood. All indoor seating. Okay, little hole in the wall place That makes great food. Unbelievable service. I love me. My wife loved going there. But during pandemic I can't have anybody inside. Until this little place is definitely going to go under if they don't have a creative solution, and my guess is they don't have a lot of overhead to figure out creative solutions. So what do they do? Can't go inside. So The moment the weather got warm. They bought themselves a.

Well, again, this is how ESPN one of the many reasons why they're the worldwide leader. Okay. Is they have so many different platforms, and so many different shows. It's, it's an it's an an easily repeatable formula that they have down, Pat, where somebody will report something, whether it's one of their on air television journalists or it's one of their digital journalists. And then the rest of the shows have at it. And then the Twitter machine gets going, and suddenly things get moved up their headline stack on ESPN dot com or on their app and.

"We were talking about the LA times story where they were discussing the new FOX pregame show with urban Meyer and Reggie Bush and Matt liner and Brady Quinn and Reggie Bush said they would recruit urban Meyer to try to coach USC. And Marcel Tech's me not a fan of urban, but we'll take Twi. So there you go as it might. So my buddy just texted me back when I was talking about this all about USC and said, no. And his question is more about health in like, obviously that was a reason why he originally stepped down in Florida. And I don't know if something came up to that extent in Ohio State or not. But that was that was the concern that voice, which I don't know. Yeah. I think he felt he he was upset that they suspended him. He didn't think he deserves any of that. Yeah. Right. Proud guy. Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, speaking of proud guys. James harden? Kevin Durant, proud guys. So Kevin Durant. When asked about James harden style and asked if he was cheating the game. I wonder who said that. I mean. Yeah, sounds like some I would say though, that would be you says his style is clever. He's not cheating the game at all quote, and quote, Kevin Durant. There's a points me. It's smart. Well, what are you? Okay. So where do you do you think that this is just a rance real opinion? Do you think he's as an offensive player? Right. Kind of wanting to protect the offense. What do you think he's doing there? I think part of it is he they were teammates. But he was also team to Russell Westbrook. And he doesn't seem to care a Westbrook. I'm dismissing your teammates thing. Right. I just think he's being honest like he's not it's what Brian earlier. It's what I said to you yesterday. The rockets have found a market inefficiency, and they're exploiting it. And that's what James harden knows. I don't like it. You don't have the like it just all doing is giving my who cares about my opinion in terms of. That's just how I feel. I just feel like it just rubs me the wrong way. I get that. I I'm not saying that I'm right or wrong about it. I get that people can watch that. And think that he's just being smart, right? No, most people would agree with you. I don't know if that's true. I just I think that part of my whole point in the reason why I don't like it though. I also think that it's ultimately less effective in terms of winning playoff series. I think it's better to actually just focus on the best way to make your shot. And if you happen to get filed doing it because you're getting contested. And they do land in your landing zone fine. But just don't don't like dude ninety percent. But don't do that full hundred percent thing where you're sticking your leg out to try to gain contact or your what you're rocking your heads. So far back like you got sniped out of the upper deck. That's all of that extra little stuff that gets Hardin, you know, four or five more. Trips to the free throw line that he would get just with his his massive bag of of skills, which he does have like he is an awesome basketball player. I just think if trimmed down on some of the excess that's designed to over accentuate the foul stuff. I think that would be better for him ultimately. And he wouldn't have to rely on those calls coming in crunch time plant games when guess what? Man. No calls are coming in those those times, usually. The case. I bet you tonight. They will be the beneficiary they might but over a seven game series, George over the course of a postseason, you're not winning because of the foul line only. You're just you're just not they feel like they've they feel like particularly fouls at the three point line that they have found the market inefficiency..

"The draft is in Vegas. Will y'all take the show on the road? All we should say why not where's the make the plan right now. Where's the autumns these around studio Vegas? That is great. Are we going to go to summer league this year? We're gonna play you wanna do it. Yeah. I'm there. I to get out there for like two weeks two weeks six sixteen days Vegas since the last time we went to summer league that was like two years ago. Zone. So ball guys there. Let me let me do the devil Sweeney thing real quick. Davos, we've been teasing this for like three very into this, Dabo Sweeney. The contrary to I promise, you know, we're gonna talk about something even though it's not my show. So you got the contract, right? Ten years ninety three million. Yeah. So Robert Mays at the ringer tweeted re tweeted this with this quote from Daboh, quote, that's where you lose me. I'll go do something else because there's enough entitlement in the world as it is. And that's about college players getting paid. So we get into the whole players need to get paid thing again. But it just is that ironic are the two separate things it just when I read that it does seem a little bit sketchy that it come up today. The no he's got a while ago while ago, didn't like say sinus contents these guys these guys camping. No, the optics weren't that bad. Yeah. Right. The context notice from the past. So is the argument should college athletes be paid. Well, does this is this is fresh topic? I don't even know have we ever taken this topic. It's obviously of one that you've done a million times. But it's just that. Do you think that him now getting the richest contract in the history of college football means anything in that context? Early two separate things, John what's your fresh take on this. I've said for anyone who will listen, it's ridiculous. College players. Don't get paid. They should have been paid twenty years ago is hurting over the, and and sooner or later people will come to the conclusion that they have to be paid. Yeah. And it doesn't have to be America. And it doesn't have to be you know, it could be America Crecy based on the type of ratings you produce as a sport. Right. Correct. Is it's all about TV money. That's where the Mike. Let let kids doing -dorsements let him sign with age that is so so Jay Bilas once told me I thought this was a fantastic idea that even if you wanna do the shamateurism thing right that you can let them to endorse -ment, and you basically put it in a fun like a trust fund. And then once they're done the money's there. And it's there you do the local car dealership you're the quarterback for the team you do the local car dealership. Hey, maybe that doesn't happen to the eighty third man in the roster. But the guy who actually tickets winds up getting the invest balance, I know didn't US's heyday every time we went to a game everybody who's in a number five or number eleven jersey. And that was Matt liner in Reggie Bush, and neither one of them ever saw Reggie Bush can't go on the damn campus. Right. Which is another thing. That's just stupid banned. Yeah. Back right free. Reggie. Yeah. Tag, free, wreckage tag, free, reg. Yeah. Yeah. They'll come to their senses. And of course, they won't. Well, I heard it's an NC double a thing that's against keep. That keeps them out. It's not USC USC has been forbidden to allow him back. Well, what happens if he's if they do one of those shows though, like he's on that FOX, right? He's to shame day. Apparently, you gotta bring up that liner the day after the cardinals drafted a quarterback way go there because I sent a text over to Tyler and Lloyd banks it's going down Super Bowl. Reservations now. Please don't let this another Matt liner situation. Okay. There you go. Well, please. Yes. All signs point to the positive. But there are no guarantees. I'm aware of it. And remember you can you can get yourself a car the merger big number one. We're giving them away. How do you? How do you get you text Murray to four one one nine two three? That's im-. You are a y I was gonna say if you don't know how to spell Murray. I don't deserve the jersey. That would be my argument. I'm not going to spell for you two are sinking. Speaking of our state when you take a look at large cities around the United States. Okay. There's an organization out there that takes a look at things like this using a variety of data to calculate homicide rates. Did you know that Mesa Tucson and Phoenix own made the top fifty most deadliest large cities in America? I don't think we too. So I I grew up in Mesa is in the top fifty you hear about these numbers all the time. And I think there is an argument to be made, you know, when people go cog, or it's not by the way. You get these ideas of safety and or dangerous based on things other than real numbers. Yeah. When you look at the fifty largest cities in the United States, Phoenix. This is back in two thousand fifteen is where some of the most recent numbers. I could find Phoenix was at number six a New York LA, Chicago, Houston, Philly and then Phoenix so capita basis. Population population only. So it's it's interesting where Phoenix lies it 'cause it's at number thirty two versus number six population. Tucson in population is thirty three Mesa is thirty eight. And then the numbers you just mentioned Tucson was thirty six right at about the same number and Mesa at fifty Mesa's thirty eight and population. So it makes sense. But remember that this information comes from police chiefs, top executives self reporting, basically, so it would need to be followed up with actual FBI stats or something like that. But. Great. So when we talk about and and so you see hours in the top fifty. We've got three cities here. Major cities in the state of Arizona two of them in the valley Phoenix and Mesa in the top fifty when you think of most dangerous cities per capita deadliest interesting deadliest by homicide. I think everybody again if you like to be led around by the nose, and you believe things like TV graphics, Chicago's most Chicago LA Bjork, even close not even close the most deadliest city of America. Are you ready? It's the one with the arch Saint Louis St Louis. Misery made me happy. I'm going there this summer number two Baltimore. Okay. All right. I have heard very negative things about Baltimore number safety knowledge. Okay. Yeah. That too I've heard negative things about New Orleans Detroit. Cleveland Las Vegas comes in at number six Kansas City. Memphis, Newark, New Jersey and Chicago comes in at number ten I get deadly cities with with that top ten list. I can see every one of them based on TV shows and movies and new stories that we've heard, but I still would have put New York and LA in there somehow I wouldn't have put. Nics in there. No, I just don't think that perception we have that Phoenix is a statistically or uniquely dangerous deadly city when it comes to homicide. I don't get that sense. In the slightest a cer- certainly when you're talking about. And I agree with you. When you say, hey, I'm going to go spend the weekend in Detroit wearing a bulletproof right or more you doing a Baltimore. Keep your head down. Don't get out of the car doors law around LA. Seriously, L I didn't make the list what I'm saying that there are some of these cities. I think fit a a near they live up to their stereotype stereotype, thank you history. But some of them, I would argue it doesn't make sense. And again, Mason Mason makes up Arizona Mesa. We have a Mormon temple in Mesa. I mean, it just said it's a highly religious town. Mesa comes in at number fifty deadliest city in the United States per per capita again right per population and homicides to population the ratio. There of I think one of the things that if I if I believe my friends in law enforcement, here's the valley that a lot of homicides. I'm not gonna say they go unreported because we talk about them all the time on KTAR, but they are huge news items. Because a lot of them are involved in the drug trade. They're involved in human smuggling. It's it's this this under right underbelly of society that we all look the other direction. Yeah. Yeah. "And I really hope that he does not end up in Oakland or Washington, which would be just a quarterback death sentence. He is such a likable guy. And I hope he hope he does really well in the NFL, thanks for the time. Ryan, I appreciate that. Well, here's the thing with. With Cal quarterbacks. We've had Cal quarterbacks who've gone to the league who failed. How many Utah quarterbacks? Can you name where you go? Yeah. Other Utah quarterback. I can't think of any. Right. Alex Smith is the one in know, he's the outlier, but they were a great football team that year that's urban quarterback. But they also I think one the festival that you didn't they with with Utah in Alex Smith? Ironically, Utah state has a quarterback prospect Jordan love who's this weird. Freaky, tall guy that everyone's all over Caleb in Indiana joins us. I k- Leb. Hi, dan. And Dan, are you a Wednesday morning? Great doing. Well. Thank you. So you guys were talking about NFL drafts where someone had kind of risen up at the very end and excuse me. I just climbing up the stairs to class. There wasn't actually expecting to get on this early. And the two thousand six draft Matt liner and Reggie Bush were highly of his being number one of the number two picks. However, Mario Williams came out of nowhere and the Texans picked number one overall and that was fifteen years ago. So that's a good call. Yeah. Yeah. And then this is also very random, but your beautiful new man cave has football place. Yeah. Me, and my roommate actually think we've uncovered for them. Okay. If I guess mccloughan knows the answer. But we're not telling anybody we have iconic plays. You know, what I would do Caleb Email the show, and then we'll hit you back because I don't want to spoil it for anybody else. But we have these plays that were painted by street artists. And I just said I wanna have six of the most iconic plays in NFL history. I didn't wanna put any teams on there or even the name of the place on there. I wanted to see if you could figure that out so Email the show Caleb, and then we'll get back to you. Thank you very much, Dan in the deaths have a tremendous there. All right. That's Caleb, Indiana. Yes, mclovin. How did the artist? Do those were you there when he was drawing? These that's paint. Right. That's not spray. Can it's incredible. The detail that are cdot with these. This is our street artist. Everything's with a spray. Can that's amazing? It's to simply amazing that he pulled those off it looks like it's like almost printed out. He is our our banks. Marcy is our banks and the reaction has been great. And rightfully so to do that free hand with spray cans spray-paint, and I would come in and just watch him. And I had a camera that was on him each time, by the way a lot of fumes. I'd come out of here buzzed my wife, say oh, did you stop for a beer? No. Nope. Just I was in there inhaling paint fumes and had a buzz going on. But I wouldn't watch we had a camera on him each part of the man cave that he was painting, and what we wanted was the time lapse, and I would just. Watch it. I was able to bring it up on my phone. I was just watching paint and how he did it, and it was all spray cans, spray paint and really remarkable. But we were trying to come up with plays. I just thought it was unique. I thought that that was a different piece of art of what a football play looks like and you try to figure that out. And that's what I love 'cause people we didn't want to put the name, mclovin goes. Well, these places have names to go. No don't put him down. I want somebody. If you're a true NFL fan. I've had somebody from the NFL hall of fame trying to figure it out as well. But if you if you look at it and maybe figuring out you Email the show. And then we'll we'll acknowledge let you know. But I don't wanna ruin for everybody else who watches the show with the man cave with these plays that we have up there. Mike and Tampa joins us. Hi, mike..

It's two thousand and four national title and Bush losing his two thousand five Heisman Trophy the school. Not only had to erase his name and likeness from campus and official records, but also had to refuse him sideline access to practices and games. Right. But now Bush's back in college football sort of he'll be one of the hosts of FOX's new college football pregame show. Matt liner is one of the other hosts Brady Quinn's on that show can over USC has taken over OB in Brady Quincy. So all three of those guys played in the Bush push. Right. But here's my question for you has Bush served. Enough of a punishment for what he did. He is now married. He's got three kids. Or would you continue to ban him from USC? Oh, come on. This is a stupid NC double a rule. I mean, there has to be a statute of limitations on your stepfather getting a house in San Diego. I m shocked you're going here. I thought it was going to have to talk you into you have my position. I think they should welcome back there today. Hey, I thought you hated Reggie. Oh, I. I did too. Your Trojan say bring back Reggie. I mean, honestly, it's it's first of all and there's by the way Mace there's precedent. Chris Webber was found to have a relation with that guy and Martin and took close to four hundred thousand dollars, and he actually was part of the coin toss at Michigan football game down years ago. Now, I think I think the the number should go back up. I think the Heisman Trophy should go back out on what I mean. And by the way, he's been the guys in Bergen, Tori for lack of a better term for nine years. And it's been almost a decade. And I went to those games. I saw him play those games happened. You just can't erase those games. All right. And it's not like a a Reggie's parents got a house. Okay. I'm not even sure what he ended up getting. I think I mean, according to the the NCW investigation. He didn't get anything. So I I would absolute surprise. We actually agree with this. I would absolutely welcome Reggie Bush back to campus. And I would do it this. Union state Reggie fast track. All right. You want to do a little game. Sure. Okay. Greg. You're going to play this. God. Are you the best person to play this? I'm not sure I don't know one way to find out. Okay. Let's Jada play. No, no. No, no. Four knows Jay. No, no. No. No. Oh, you put it in. Okay. All right. So these are these are voicing these are mystery voices, Pat or Patrick, okay? Boy, grabbed me not be the best of this. What are you talking about? I had you know until you hear it. We'll see. Okay, mystery Pat number one in NBC in Burbank. We had a place Los Arcos across the street, which is Spanish as you know, for the Arcos and. We go and they serve great Margaritas.
