I would have called my husband said, let's go bring in somebody home ready cry. Ready for a threesome. There's no punch line here. Be awake for it. Probably. The first key there. Oh boy music on at some slow jams? Maybe silk pajama, very white maybe ponytail. Yes. Oh, it doesn't get in the way for whatever. He's doing. Yeah. Take some snacks. Some crow knacks always say snap. Okay. Even though he's gone, Don, Rickles, appears as Mr. potato head and Toy Story four thanks to audio. He recorded over twenty five years. They piece it together from the first three movies theme parks that he recorded stuff for the character and video games. So they just took all of that worked him in. That's great. That's lead. I wonder if his family gets a paycheck for that. The question. I hope so. Yeah. Okay. Adventures fans are debating theory, which I love this theory that ant man could easily defeat Thanos by flying into his. But and then growing really big. Maxence doesn't it? Yeah. So. Well, it makes sense it probably it's not a good idea for a Disney movie. That was really fun to entertain that idea. I think okay. Let's see here on TV this weekend. We have the third season of the Santa Clarita diet. You didn't really like that? Did you watch the first season? I didn't go back after that. I watched I tried to watch the first episode, and I was like, I'm just not laughing a lot. I don't know. I don't mind like gruesome gross stuff. It's just. Yeah. Okay. Where can you? Yes. Keep going with that. Yes. Well, they're going to the three seasons coming out today that we also have on AMC on Sunday. We have the ninth season finale of the Walking Dead. "One's a character. And the other is his himself. Yeah. Absolutely. But it's still pretty impressive of. Oh, No, no. I'm not taking away from it mean to popular shows. I guess I should say is, you know, Matt LeBlanc. Yeah. But that's playing the same character. You got me there. So then we count does last week tonight count, then as a spin off. No, it's not it's a direct kind of thing. I think Jon Stewart kind of allowed him not allowed him. Good caste masters, but. No, give him a platform. Yeah. Which kind of launch from I mean syncing with whites next show on HBO. Look, you know, he was he was a correspondent you wouldn't call that a spin off of the daily show, whereas is direct connection with the Colbert show simply because also it came right after. The daily show, and he was pretty much playing the same character. Yeah. So the same kind of oblivious concerned. So do we count than Samantha b show? Also that came after see now, we're starting to hit the I think that gray area a little bit. Sure. I don't think so. In a yet. And I think you bring up a fine question. Yeah. He audience members. Should should call in call coal into our hotline. It's something something easy. Eight eight four five easy. Is that really what it is? That is exactly what it is. No repeat the number eight four five easy hoax. Yeah. So call that number and let us know what you think whether or not cement, the b and even less less tonight is technically a spin off the daily show because. Yeah. I'm on the fence. I'm on the fence will now, and I think that's what they cut their teeth. Sure. I think you'd be it's absurd to think that they didn't get influence from the daily show. It's so, yeah, I don't even know. So I've a really terribly terribly terrible. Spinoff that eighty show. Oh, I even debated on whether or not I was going to bring that up. You thought about it? I did your brain data. And yeah. Just just just just did not work. Yeah. I can tell you from my experience that those kids did not like that show. And do not think it was a good idea into not think it was funny at all the dive. I don't blame them. It was like fuck those kids. I mean, I listen I said from my modest experience it was insulted a little bit. What I mean? Look. Okay. Honestly, the show is bad. But I would take it as a compliment that like, okay, my show is so good that they're trying to make some more money off of it. And also those kids like listen, they just got a gig in Hollywood. Yeah. Giving what kids some slack? They didn't write the for. Yeah. Come on. I doubt they blackballed them or anything like that. But still I don't know. I don't know go out to a club. And like, you know, Danny Masterson. I'm not dancing them talking to those. Kids. Different decade. So I did in some of mine, I tried to go back to more childish or childhood stuff. No childish childish done say signature dish. I was a huge fan when I was younger of the Flintstone kids. You know, what I did enjoy that show watch it? I mean, I watched a season of it. I couldn't tell you a single episode. I could tell you one go, I tell you. I seem to remember. There was three..

"Us. We appreciate it's Tuesday drive carefully up there. Okay. So Conan O'Brien has a revamped late night show. It's just a half hour everything out the window. He's just doing a half hour. He doesn't have a desk. He just comes out. Does this thing? Andy Richter is still there. But he's been on the air for twenty five years. He's a young kid. No kidding. Yeah. That he's been on the late night. You know? But people forget about TBS. Yes, we do. And but anyway, Matt LeBlanc was on Conan lesson. And I'm just looking at a back in the day. He was so ridiculously hot. Oh, I'll never forget when cousin Michael or house. We were out there and our show. It was after our show or something. He goes, I just I'm working with the sky who created this show called friends. It's supposed to be a baby that created it. Yeah. No, no. He worked for someone else to and. Yeah. Yeah. And he's like I hear it's going to be a big hit. Big hit. He does landscaping. Yeah. So anyway, so Matt LeBlanc. Thank you for that. Good. That added so much flavor. Good mayo to the story back anyway. But actors do love to tell the story if they're asking about how broke they were when they got their job. I think Kristie Matt said she had like thirty six cents center checking account here. It a lot you hear it a lot. And even though we know it's a successful actor telling the story. I I still think I like hearing the story I like hearing, you know, like where they were. And so Matt LeBlanc. And if you didn't get a chance to see him playing himself in this show, called episodes, showtimes, brilliant. It's so funny the show within a show, really good. But he is on his sitcom which is in. Maybe it's second or third year man with a plan. Yeah. It just came back just came back and he's sitting very comfortably. Pile of friends money. So here's his story about how broke he was when he got his break with friends. You know, you were obviously that changed your life overnight the success of that show. But you broke when you got friends isn't that right? Like seriously broke. Yeah. I. All right. I got a little money in the Bank. I can I can hold out to the next gig at I think goes down to eleven dollars eleven dollars. Now that's holding out too long. Because even if I said at that point, I I'm gonna go get like a like a waiter job. But the time that eleven dollars ran out would have been before the first paycheck on. You waited too long. Yeah. Would've starved. So I appreciate that. You know, he points out. How lucky he was? And he also mentioned I don't think we have that carpet. If he hadn't a booked friends. You know, he that money wouldn't have lasted until even have first paycheck. And he also said when he got his head shot the photographer notice he had one that's story. Could you afford a headshot? Did you have a head shot at the time? Because that's the big thing in this town is you gotta have your head shot at a good picture of yourself. I had had the same hatch up for a long time. The first the first head shot that I ever got taken. So I went to the photographer, and he said to me he goes, all right? We've talked setup he's got the cameras and the lights says. Before we take this. You might want to go get the tooth filed. I go. Thomma tooth is a little longer than the other one. I go, oh, really? This. You get that filed. Okay. And they come back. So I went back with this back when was phone boots the yellow pages. Yeah. So I look up a dentist. No insurance. Go to see the guy says, yeah, I could file that for it'd be about eighty bucks, eighty bucks. What what what are you gonna do? Just file it I go. Let me see the file shows it to me. And I go left forget it no way by. So I go to the drugstore by.

"So what we do is we accuse the Russians of violating the treaty, which they're probably doing or we were violating but not telling anybody, and now we just want to get it out in the open. So we just accused them and they accuse us, and then we broke the treaty, and we can all you know, kind of do the maintenance on our weapon systems to keep them fresh and up to date. That's the only thing I can figure and then reenter new treaty down the road yet. We're updated. We'll come back to the table and have a new treaty. That's see that's the kind of BS the government's pull over the, you know, because it serves it serves to rile up the base serves to get them excited about something gets everybody's scared of another nuclear arms race. And the you know that we're all going to start building bomb shelters in our backyard. And the media will spin this up that way, and it's all pretty pointless. So in the end weaken all kill each other one hundred times over now, Detroit is useless producing more doesn't make any sense. And the only thing I can see needing to upgrade or update the current weapon systems because they're, you know, twenty years old thirty years old, whatever. But anyway, I will leave you with this. I'm gonna save this other conversation about this. This drug raid gone bad for tomorrow. Those of you who were part of the who were part of the members area heard me talk about this. You can go watch it in the private Facebook group, but I'll leave that unti-. Oh later because I don't have enough time to get through it. But this is another thing I wanted to talk a little motivation for you before we leave Matt LeBlanc who was the star of friends. He was Joey the guy who played the actor. He was an actor playing an actor on this show. And he was being interviewed on Conan O'Brien the other night. And they were telling the story about him. And the asked him a question about, you know, really how how close to being broke? He was when he got the friends gig. And I think the I remember seeing him in a couple of a couple of shows prior to him being infringed. But they were like little bit parts that he had stuff. So we really none of them had had any serious or significant career as actors when they were hired to do friends and on Conan. They asked him how close it was pretty bad. He said I had I checked and he said I had eleven dollars in the Bank like literally eleven bucks was all he had..

"This is okay. Because we didn't say the character one and a half. Yeah. I would go Matt Perry. He seems like he can party. All right. I can see factually it's been proven that he can to his own detriment had a couple of episodes couple of episodes. We'd hang see. I I would not want to have dinner with him. I wouldn't want to have dinner with Matt LeBlanc know, somebody on Twitter said that they would like to have dinner with Matt LeBlanc because they love his new sitcom, which I forget the name of it some show on CBS. But he is so different. I would like to have dinner with Joey just because it feels like it'd be a good time. But he is so different than the character. Joey on friends that I just don't think that would be as good of a time. Lisa Koutros, a good one. Pretty good because he's in a back to Matt LeBlanc. He's a man with a plan now, which I have not plan, even at least in cujo even in movies that I thought were terrible. Like, she was in the only movie that I as a former as somebody that used to review them for the radio walked out of like, she was on a terrible terrible Romanian, Michelle. No. That I will watch. Michelle is terrible. It'll have to come to because it was that bad. It was a really really terrible movie where she was supposed to be part of like like putting together this guy who was a rap mogul and one of the brothers was it was awful. Oh, man. That's what you're saying. Altogether. Sounds really the worst is the only movie that I've walked out of when I don't need to see the end of this. It was bad. But I think she would be fun. Few other suggestions on Twitter. Courtney Cox says Larry for the simple fact that she is.

"Rate to people magazine yesterday and said there was nothing to break up from it was casual the day after she posted the story of him in the car were she's filming it next to him. And he's looking at elk and they're Yellowstone in Montana. Okay. So his this what they insider his publicist tells people there is nothing to spread from as it has been casual and he enjoyed being with her with her, but he's working on himself and being together with her at this time is not something that we're today he will date in the future. But for now is focuses on sobriety family and his next project. So what happened? Radar. Online calls this China, the twenty two year old and she says, they said, you know, we hear you and Ben have split up and just said that's not accurate. So she's coming in the back door taking her through the alley. You can't post anymore insta-. He's like Shana, maybe his publicist home to say this Shana. You've now got up to the magic Mark of one hundred thousand followers on Instagram. Could make a nice living just doing turf sponsored posts a week twenty g's, exactly. And you're going to have to I'll still see, you know, we can still hang out where you're going to have to hide under a blanket in the back of the station wagon when and pulls in anywhere, right? And you can't post anything more about. Okay. So they're still doing it. But not publicly. Oh, wait a minute. Wait a minute. I thought you said she said that she broke up with him. No, no, no, no. The break-up happened his people yesterday the day after her insist story. The day after talking about like, dude. Okay. You go to your ex wife's house who drove you to rehab who's been taking care of. You you go you get divorced in the next day you're spotted with your twenty two year old. Yeah. Ever had to hide in the carpet. She'll be fine. Maybe I'll get up to two hundred thousand dollars. You know, I don't know. But anyway, so there's still seeing each other. But his not out loud in any public way. Sharon, she's not allowed to use the social media sites to post anything. You can't do that. Then they're going to have a really for. Sure. Heartbreak out. Is quick to also she's in people in next week's people because she's got her show camping funny you guys. So funny. I think it's on HBO. I think spin off of a British show. Remember, the last spin off British show that we are so crazy about the Matt LeBlanc half hour episodes. That was a spin off a remake of a British. And that was one of our faith that is a show to watch and laugh and. In front of Hollywood and Matt LeBlanc plane himself anyway. So she was on with we share with less than oh Kimmel Kimmel. Yes. And she brought over a blueberry crumble. And it was just talked about food and faking it was, you know, nothing about peppermint. It was just about camping and organic farming, and she's just so baby food her baby food, but she's very infectious light fall to light. So of course, you know, no questions asked, but she's back in the dating pool. Poor he's going to date again. She's doing great. She's wanna be single. She's opened a dating. So, you know, the story spins publicists have been busy for three and a half years spinning their images. She's winning. Oh, yeah. I'm not a percent. Yeah. One hundred percent. Yes. What Ben's next what he has. I'll tell you. I think he does have some things in the works. But I mean, if he's filming anything right now, I will tell you. Yeah. All right toes. To find out. Brad, Pitt a source tells tell us he's got stuff happening. He does. Well, let's see he's filming city on hill, which is a TV series. And he's also been. Well, he's executive producer Justice league. Now, that's for twenty nine thousand nine he really has nothing in two thousand eighteen and then Torrance, but all that's film. He's producer producer producer Batman. He's a producer acting such a good for the prosecution, which I'm excited to see that was such a great movie producer on that original. Oh my gosh. That was a great production where you know. I bet all of Ben Affleck get an starring and witness for the prosecution Christie novel. Yeah, I just went into it. He's starring in that I think he's also starring in films now it's twenty nineteen. In Batman it stars. He's not directing it stars. Ben Affleck, Joe manganiello, Jeremy Irons, so that's being filmed next year too. So he's back at it. Two thousand eighteen off. Yeah, I guess. And then Brad Pitt's people have been busy have been insiders to people about that. You know, the gal he was with the other day. That's like a co star on the movie Twenty-three-year-old. Yeah, they're not dating. But they're very close. So they're just call like Ben Affleck and his lady. You know, they're they're not dating. But they're very close. I mean, it's it's such a laughably quaint it is way of. Putting it isn't like somebody can't we can't say her keenum to see that their close. They've seen each other with their clothes off. And she doesn't want to meet the kids. And so everybody's fine with that. You know what I mean? Right. Like why Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck have a lot of baggage. It's best to just be the girlfriend who is the season. Whenever it suits. You early so much baggage Perez who wants to meet the kids and all that crap. I don't think that they're not looking for here. So right. They're not looking for any any of that stuff know, what else do we know? Here's a show. No one asks for but apparently is coming to TV to TNT K. Wait. Wait, wait before you go there. Okay. Our TV commercial. The new Mitag commercial has aired last night during game whatever the last game of the series between the New York Yankees. And the Boston Red Sox. The Boston Red Sox were trolling the Yankees. What were they doing? We'll because the Yankees GM was a big we're the only ones who can really do damage to the Red Sox. And so there were just all these teams and stuff. Damage. So we're getting down to you know, getting down to this. The World Series. Seen it. I haven't seen the new one. We did a couple of things. Yeah. Nobody asks for a a live medical diagnosis show meets the view. Can you hear on everybody just clicking out their remotes? Maybe all the people like to Google their symptoms. This. There's the audience may over like it's going to be on TNT. It's a show where people get their ailments diagnosed by a panel of doctors enthusiastic audience. You

"What was his name? I'm sorry. Yeah. Bring that Kevin. James and Matt LeBlanc had a sitcom, and they like, took every guy and whatever, you know, through him against the sitcom wall and to see what would stick. But no women sitcom wall. And they didn't stick the, they didn't last very long. But yeah, well, we were, we were gone in a flash and the speed has like, if you don't make it correct. I wonder here. I'm going to claim sexism, but it might have, like I said, well, I'm not saying it was like what in the world, but it was better than a lot of stuff that was on. And I wonder how much that, of course, lately I'm thinking about it, but maybe that's why we were cancelled curls. I don't know. I have no idea, but it was a Nina tasks. Ler show was the head of television at the time. She's fantastic. It's how is that? How does being a woman in Hollywood all these years? I don't know. You tol game. I, you know, I made a career playing men's roles. I've, I had an agent who is smart enough to say, hey, for this doctor and this guest Dr on empty nest or party five, what we will you see a woman, they get sure, and then I would get it and they feel like they cast out of the box. And so I kind of made a career out of playing roles originally written for men. So I don't have. I really don't have a female perspective. I don't play an orange new, you know. Yeah, I'm very tall and lesbian. Are you coming back to the to the to the Ellwood reunion? I hope so. Yeah. You'll say the Lord. Are they doing? Yeah, you'll play the lawyer. I'm sorry, you play the Lord. I played a lawyer. Yeah, Cybill shepherd was my lady. I was that that was so uncomfortable. She's she's great. It was uncomfortable for her. I'm thinking about the two of us in bed with nipple pasties on wearing nothing, but boxer shorts and trying to act like we're in love, and it was. That's all I can remember of how. Very uncomfortable. Tell me. Very, very uncomfortable. Yeah. Anything else? That's all I remember. That's all I remember, but it follow. Is it a? Is it going to be a series? I don't know. We'll see. Could be just it'll be on. Showtime couldn't be just on a phone. Yeah, yeah. I don't know. I don't know. I've seen rumblings of about a year ago. I was. I think it's going to be all the old lesbians, helping the young list. Oh, I'm think that's really the plot. I think that's the premise. Yeah. And they sit around and go mine. How that's going to end. Yeah, right. Right. Jenny being murdered. For Janney Jenny. They hate lives on right. She just emailed me. I don't know what for. So talk about marvelous MRs. Mazel. Yeah, Amazon show you got an EMMY nomination for it. 'cause I did, yes. For you. Explain explain that doing that because I thought I was I was just binge washed it lightheaded watching. It was a big hit and it got viral. And everyone says you gotta watch it, and that's how people are now. They watch everything and right big chunks. And I literally was sitting at home and like two in the morning, like once episodes, and then you pop up and I had no idea you were there, and I think I texted you, like what about doing their Jane. Talk about that and the thinking behind that show and what you were trying to do? Oh, they mean like interpret creek, nothing to do with heck, no, you don't have to make it well, you know, I'm, there was one. Was there an I watched that helped you. Well, what I love about it is is such a throwback. It's it's old school and I love the wardrobe, and they're so good with this. I mean, it's like the best artisans in New York City are building the clothes from scratch. A lot of the time, all my wardrobe has a label with my name MS Lynch, and it's it's just it's beautiful. The fabrics are beautiful. The even the background actors look, fantastic sets are beautiful. The acting is glorious in the writing is wonderful. I, it's just wonderful. I'm a guest actor. "It and turned it down because he said it would have been too distracting to the show i can't remember shall i tell you please matlock he himself said people will look at this and go how come joey this doesn't make sense can i tell you he would have never been as good i don't think he would've and i like matt leblanc love but i think some pretty he he he understands that he's joey and it's debris knows he's been typecast he has a new show and he's just joey joey right people do remember no it wasn't terrible it was okay it wasn't as good as friends but it was okay this one is pretty bad i've watched a few minutes of it and why oh i can't remember but and i don't even know the concept but it was just like joey yeah yeah he plays a similar guy but then he also did a reality show for a couple years where he was playing himself and there was a lot of like joey related material i don't remember that i'm one of the the cable networks supposed to be really good i never got to see it's kind of a tony danza fill to him a little bit yeah yeah a little bit man with a plan man with a plan is that the new one that's the current one and then say the show he had two or three years where he was like a a a slightly goofy version of himself he played him his name was matt leblanc on the show extras or stand ins or something episodes episodes that's it exact man with the plan yeah in the broadway musical that became a movie chicago roxie hart is played by renee zellweger originally though they were going after shirley's thrown she would have been good i always like her you saw lala landrieu yes i loved it i did so the yeah i watched it and you know what actually i didn't make it all the way through my wife did i went back and finish the sad the sad part and then it just got ended for me so there's the thing at the end that happens again i still want to apologize for giving away too much information about the movie yesterday yeah i did i gave up too much pelley i don't want to say anything else but something happens almost at the very end of la la land that is just one of the best things i've ever seen in a movie and that's all i that okay i'm still feeling guilty for yesterday so we'll say anything wasn't that remember that is so good there's something so good remember anything i've ever i still feel bad for giving way too much yesterday for it he did he totally did do you remember the fight we got into with earth cups in at once over the sixth sense you don't remember this when did i work in a q on one in earth cups in it in his column puts the end of success quick spoiler alert if you don't know the end of six cents to tune out for thirty seconds he puts audience are shocked at the end of six cents when dot dot dot dot he puts the ending come on the air the next day going earth cups and it's been a columnist thompson sixteen or three you doing so we called his office i was gonna leave a message on his he picked up really good i don't remember any of that was there yeah what happens i did i you know i'm not a three stooges fan you don't want something in life happens automatically go well this isn't supposed to work this way so cup picks up we called his office we we got the sometimes we've found is so then we dial it up did you did and then hello and i go who's this him you know so then i tell them i go mr cups in in your column you put the end to say yeah so and i go well that's not fair for people who haven't seen it hogwash i want to put the end of a movie i'm gonna put the end of move and we're like john back and forth and then he played jamiroquai followed everything is right yeah we used to have a really good show i know remember it but wow good back then thank you gotta push that's not for you to say it's for us to say you can agree listen to you guys every morning thank you thank you very much that's.

"The gist of and they wouldn't be right on the and you'd see them just go over with the script ago dini to look at him very polite to and i would just get a cab is it okay to come the fireworks getting the big now you'd trouble buddy will to your to your plan i think i've heard people say i don't remember where this i you know shirts not like one person's idea but they say tv is the writers medium where they're essentially in charge film director and i guess theater is where there's really over those kinda interesting so you brought up multicap versus single cam and i wanna ask maybe if we can just list that's one of several major stations between these two shows that you spent the most time in your career apart of so friends multi camera which also means live audience episode single camera no audience i really love multicar the new show the plan for soobee houses back to multi camera again is that where you're more you feel more on their well you town story chronologically single shoot completely out of order and it's at its whatever serves the production schedule the best if you have a nation of his interesting that these two scenes take place in that restaurant but there's multiple days between story wise multiple days between those two scenes like it's the beginning in the end of the whatever the piece you're gonna shoot those two scenes the same day and you might shoot the last one i before the first one just however it facilitate whatever's economically the most effective for production but with a live audience you can't do that because they won't they won't be able to fall story so you have to tell it in chronological order and with a live audience you can tell jokes funny because if you say the punchline and they don't laugh is probably not fucking fun right and you really feed as the actor off of the audience and the writers are all there and they're watching they didn't laugh that joke does not let's let's in second take you can guarantee that that jokes not gonna be there's gonna be something new right and you kind of try to look at spots where i'm not sure about this show it's been good during the week but i don't know if i have a lot of faith in it so i try to cars the rise let's have couple of backup jokes i like the area the neighborhood that the jokes in if it's just right yet and yeah we feel the same way so let's let's write some backup jokes dan which is plug went in yeah and you can do that then to come back to the number of in with fringe guys again somewhere in the navy teens twenty four season here with you can do maybe six seven sometimes for season with seven second third fourth season were nine nash and the fifth and final season was seven again but there was because you know the very interesting way usually whether show you have you have head writer and you have a writing staff with episodes david jaffe wrote there was no writing staff they wrote every word of every episode and they wrote the whole season in advance before we started shooting so we shot the entire season like a film i'd walk around with seven episodes in a binder you know on any given day shooting where it's a scene from episode seven and it's a scene from three that it's a scene from four and then it's two scenes from five and that'd be any given us all over the place just like i said before to facilitate being economical with the budget and it was tricky to keep your place but they wrote it all they were onset everyday they were right there they were all over it and if you were ever lost you go to them and they tell you exactly we were well when you're looking at a twenty four versus sex potentially do you think that it's easier to sustain quality over six hundred is over twenty four like do you feel like there's something gained by aside from probably having a nicer schedule for the actor that's an interesting question well the schedules different when you doing single camera work and twelve fourteen sixteen hour days when you do multimedia have one long day and that's friday show night but you don't go until noon and you out at new in the evening does long as takes but mondays table read may go home that's an hour tuesday's were hersal dasm throwing four four hour day wednesday for five hour day thursday eight hour day tech day.

"That again and mental different choices or not done anything and just enjoy the summer off but you don't know no one knew friends was going to be when during that summer and you know the between first and second season friends i went and did the monkey baseball movie was supposed to be diz like disneyesque kids movie that universal was doing i want to some screenings it was done i saw little kids having a great time kids love that yeah no so with it did what it was designed to do and then you know i did another one was probably not a great choice i've made great choices in films but so what would experience a film actor on top of being on tv show was that important like back then yeah that was sort of wanted to like movies were where was i wanted get into movies and i think that's how everybody thought now you know i'm fifty fifty one this summer i could give shit about being business i just want some time off was directing something that ever start appeal to i know that schwimmer we have on the spot guess i think he started doing it while friends a bunch of funds never really appeal to you though or was it's more appealing now than it was them i don't know if it's something more do not i don't really know yeah so i don't think about it too much so over those years though between friends ends in two thousand four episodes starts in two thousand eleven over those seven years were you still regularly in touch with david not super regularly know but you know from time to time check in yeah only because i guess you get this call and i wondered how out of the blue it was that what he and his partner jeffrey had an idea yeah the calmness hey we're going to do for show i said really okay great stewart said you wanna have the ideas oh find mika i just there's a trust level i know that the thing that i know about working with david and jeffrey is are people going to watch it who knows you that's how you control is going to be good i would bet that it would be right i i know that the quality of the of the material will be good i know that the production value will be good because they know what they're doing will people watch it that's out of everyone's hands that's up to the network what's it up against what the time you know what i mean so many variables you don't have control over so they wouldn't tell you what it was over the phone but you got together at a hotel we had lunch in santa barbara and they pitched to me the entire first season with no notes just off the top of their head what are you thinking when they're telling you just underlying concept that we're going to be taking you matlock a real person and putting quotes around your name essentially but like i would be concerned only question would understand that plan myself was at me and he said well on documentary right it's a character it's basically we're gonna take the public's perception of celebrity use your name because you because of friends and the fame we're gonna use your name and make a fictitious matt leblanc and you know we're together we go step by step if it's something you don't.

"I know there are plenty of others as well what do we know that these and and what are you most looking forward to for the rest of the for the next few months i'm definitely a marvel faithful so i mean amp man whatever the marvel movie will always be the one i'm looking forward to so amion and wass which is interesting though it's you know it's their lowest key franchise coming out after their biggest movie ever ventures infinity more so it'll be this movie is set before the events of of injures it'll be interesting to see though this lower stakes type of thing is out of pallet cleanser people ready to see something a little bit more fun carefree or will they not find as powerful and intriguing you know skyscraper with the rock yeah i don't think i have seen i think the embargo still up so i can't stand that i did like it this was an interesting case where it's clearly made for the chinese audience chinese audience it's a legendary movie but it it's one where you know hollywood often casts chinese actors to get the international audience and sometimes people call it out for saying this is you know you didn't give these people a great role in there i think people will be surprised in this one the characters acting i'll hold up so i think that has a lot potential at least overseas i don't know here rampage just came out so i don't know if people have rock but it's possible you know and i see he's now lined up movie probably couple years down the road though with gal gadot right yes exactly i believe directed by the same director of skyscraper saying okay and then what about mission impossible what number is this number six and like the last few moves the marketing is all about the one signature stunt in this case it's a really high skydiving scene that's all tom cruise's talking about for the last three months or so but those are always dependable faithful or you know people go to those they seem to enjoy them and you kind of you know he still delivers something new every time i mean the last one he still got it he's how old is he now i think i'm believable yeah and then we'll see him in a what a year or two and the top gun sequel that's when i'm pretty yeah other just general things to look forward to creed to we see a trailer now that's coming out what end of the year yock re two's coming out i think around thanksgiving so three years after the first one and the the trailer dropped and the the reaction was pretty positive you know i mean ryan kugler the director of the first one has gone on to be the biggest in the world now and so not directing this one though not directing this one and so i think that's kind of the question mark is can they retain the magic on the reaction was pretty positive wonder woman nineteen eightyfour the sequel to wonder woman has begun production in dc this is of course appropriately enough a dc comics project and they have had some executive turnover lately and actually have only one other release this year aqua man so is it maybe not surprising that they are hyping this one all ready just keep their fan base you know jazz until until it comes out i guess next year yeah yeah this is absolutely the closest property they have to a marvel property in the sense that you can show a picture you know a year early and people will legitimately be excited about it i mean they revealed that chris pine is back for this one somehow noone admiral dead you know i it setting the eighties people i mean come on everything set in the eighties now so it seems like the magic thing they need right now keep that goodwill going and kind of like we're talking about with lucas film i mean one brothers d c arm they're trying to refocus and figure out what works and what to do because there's been a long time where they kind of been developing everything let's develop four harley quinn movies and hopefully one of them happens you know so i.

"Of the main franchise almost every year basically every year right and that's just more than even star wars rather fans want right this was the first time where there was basically i think a a six month window usually it was an entire year so six months was just too soon you know i think disney he may have thought will marvel can release a movie every four months but those marvel movies are different you have black panther ant man of injuries they're not the saint star wars there's a little bit of a the same thing every time right you're not having these different genres within and this one hasn't even cracked two hundred million i think it's the lowest grossing of any star wars movie spinoff our main one ever and has been described in some circles as quote unquote the movie nobody wanted and i know that disney as you've just written is still processing it's been a humbling experience for disney yeah you know they haven't actually officially dated any movies other than jj abrams episode nine for december twenty nine teen but you know we knew from from sourcing that they were working on and obi wan movie hopefully with you and mcgregor there were james mangold developing a fat spinoff you know while none of those are officially green lit they the solo disappointment has caused them to kind of reassess what they're going to deal with this stuff i mean going into solo it would be a natural fit to say hey we really need to fast track donald glover landau rizzi and movie because people loved him from the movie but if the movie is such a disappointment that's probably not on the fast track more you know a wrinkle in time meanwhile i one hundred million dollar movie ever directed by black woman and it just did not perform really now just cross the one hundred million dollar mark domestically because it looks like disney up the number of theaters in recent weeks as it was getting it looked like that number was attainable i guess symbolically that's significant that at least it's domestic all is going to be almost what its budget was maybe a little over that but those aren't the kinds of numbers disney was hoping for some people have said maybe it's a case of the book really was unfilmable in there was just something there where audiences weren't really responding to it you know a lot of people did like if you look on social media a lot of people like the representation and the message of it are very positive a message but maybe it just wasn't the kind of thing where people rushing out to see it for whatever reason you know and for me it was a little bit of a i'm an adult and it was a little bit of a kids movie which is actually great because kids need movies i think we're so used to kid properties like marvel being made for adults that we think when we actually see a real kids movie we go didn't really relate but that's kind of the point though it's not for me right well wonder if that was maybe ultimately just a marketing problem because maybe people just didn't really understand who it was aimed at yeah that definitely could have been the case right but i've talked to parents whose kids loved it yeah yeah meanwhile disney has had tremendous success through another segment of its business the pixar side of things where the incredible to had a record breaking opening weekend last weekend it's one hundred million dollar opening weekend gross was the highest for any animated film ever and one of the top ten openings of any film ever animated or otherwise what does this mean for pixar at a time when they've just lost their their leader john lasseter her who was caught up in the whole metoo thing and who has now been replaced by pete dr jennifer lea to filmmakers who have worked at pixar and then why do you think the sequel fourteen years after the original incredible 's has really resonated so much just seems to me that people who were kids fourteen years ago and loved it have probably aged out of the target demo but i guess a whole new generation's been been raised on the on the dvd or streaming of it who i curious what you think that's all about yeah i mean i guess we'll see these movies take so long to make that the kind of the effect of lasser exit they'll take a little while to to see how that goes i mean he certainly one of the top credits on.

"That are already in progress it's been a big year so far for horror movies paramount's a quiet place directed by john present ski and starring his wife emily blunt cost seventeen million dollars gross nearly one hundred eighty seven million domestically and then eight twenty four hereditary directed by this thirty one year old guy aster and starring toni collette cost ten million dollars gross more than thirty one million domestically these are not your throwaway horror movies of the sort that i guess we're sort of used to but there's something a little deeper about them is that the reason why they are clicking people do respond to smart movies still yeah i mean it seems like you know everybody will point to get out as kind of starring the trend and and people talk about this term elevated horror which is supposedly horror like get out or quiet place that you know is a little bit classier maybe means a little bit more and have you talked horror fans they bristle at that term because they say whore has always meant something it's always been about this but it does seem like you know whether you like the term or not it is paying off at the box office now i mean people this is what kind of what people want is is these these smarter smarter takes guess and they both have a little bit of oscar buzz around them certainly people are talking about in the actress race both emily blunt from a quiet place and now toni collette from hereditary it's interesting again it does come back to get out that you know the kademi long head sort of a bias toward john rao fair but certainly after last year with the shape of water and get out doing so well it's suggests that maybe these efforts to revamp the members of the academy are also causing them to be a little more open minded about what great movies are but moving onto to other movies that began rolling out before the summer and are still hanging on a little bit these were kind of disappointments from disney that's something a phrase you don't hear often disappoints from disney but basically after the phenomenal success early in the year of black panther disney then released eva d'auvergne as a wrinkle in time which was a one hundred and three million dollar outpatient of well no novel of the same name of course and then also ron howard solo star wars story which we mentioned earlier this was a roughly two hundred seventy five million dollars spin off of the most famous franchise in movie history and neither did very well at the box office what is that about yeah you know i mean i think solo is kind of the the easier one to answer right which is people keep saying that well we just star wars is becoming less special i mean this this movie really didn't tell you anything you do didn't know already show you anything that you really needed to know it wasn't even like rogue one which was also a prequel but it was all new characters you didn't know what was going you in a sense knew what would happen they're gonna steal a desktop grants but you did not know where it was going where this one oh he's gonna meet landau and you know he's a guy that's likes fine spaceships i mean there just wasn't anything there to really make you go i need to go see this unlike even last jedi was divisive but you wanted to know who are as parents are they going to answer all these questions they didn't answer them but people still wanted to go see it there's a level of excitement for that star wars fatigue because it's just these guys are i guess alternating between spinoff in a main whatever you call it a main installment of part.

"The the the the what he allows them to make fun of in the show is absolutely amazing and the the two main characters who play the writers are fantastic and it's just a really funny show about exactly you're saying is taking a show from another country that bringing to american forget it up on that note of uh matt leblanc playing being excellent playing himself i told you about this off air a little while ago but it seems up this hidden gem thing is getting a lot info for these people to give you a lot to watch where give me a lot wiser i'm going to give i'm gonna give you an assignment okay uh from a competing streaming source o n s on sold jeanclaude van john useful about this with as you want it i started watching a so what's that the pilot episode came out in two thousand seventeen or something the amazon does they'll do like one pilot ride ran then and then if that is the never eggs as the performance they how many views and stuff again so it's a six episode minisers basically like one really long movie it's it's like two and a half hours because all the episodes are half an allows china that against you hours and forty minutes or whatever it runs runs at altogether but john club and johnson is junk led damn today playing jeanclaude vandamme a retired sort of hack no one cares about this guy anymore as little bit out of shape not fat but will but attaches definitely older doesn't have the same cash as he used to no one knows who he is uh he wants to get back into the game in the game is moviemaking but what's interesting about it is that you find out that the movie the movie sets that he's on art serve tactically put into places where this agency needs operatives for espionage real governmental agencies real eight yet israel agency that needs.
