"Well carlo schools now have less than a year or remove american indian mascots. And if they don't it's going to be expensive but the fact that they're going to have to is going to be expensive as well as well. this story here. The greeley tribune talking about this. This is something we knew was coming down the pipelines but they now have eleven months to remove them or face a monthly monthly fine of twenty five thousand dollars that means changing uniforms signs paintings and hallways and even jim floors win. Democratic governor jared bowls signed Steve bill One sixteen hurt with a litter of concern about the short span and cost the school district which can run hundreds of thousands of dollars and yeah. That is such a quick turnaround. So now you're going to get a lot of people especially the way that construction is backed up and supplies or backed up. You could have the possibility of having people be in the process of changing it. Not get it done in the eleven months and they're going to have to pay the twenty five thousand dollar fine on top of the On top of the actual cost of the renovations to get it done to get the change. That's not right that shouldn't be happening Backers of the law say not only. Is it the right thing to do. American indians in colorado say many of the mascots turn their identities into caricatures but the districts also have known. This was a long time coming. Schools with these mascots could save making a change if they had an agreement with a federally recognized tribe by june thirtieth or they can apply for state building excellent schools today grant to help with costs though the process is competitive and the grants likely wouldn't be issued in time and we've got i mean this is gonna affect Schools here in northern colorado right. We've seen loveland The loveland indians changed their mascot The eaten fighting reds. What will they turn into And do they need to do. They need to be that the eaten fighting reds is that is that a derogatory term. Loveline indians is that a derogatory term. Now i can have that conversation about the lamar savages right. I mean i could have that conversation. Not sane which way i i would agree with it but i'm willing to listen on that one these other ones i don't see it as a as a caricature at all in fact the in fighting reds and especially with how much they win right but this is just another step in removing the quote unquote offensive stuff and it's removing part of our history. Is it a good part of history. No it's not anybody who says that it is is wrong but is that what we should be doing. Should we be removing the bad parts of our history. I had i had a history teacher in high school that that said if we don't learn from history it's bound to repeat itself right and that's the truth if we don't learn from what didn't work if we don't learn from our failures are mistakes. Then they're bound to repeat them were bound repeated. I don't like this. I don't like the fact that they're taking it away. The national congress of american indians has been asking for mascot changes for more than thirty years said democratic state representative. Adrian been vitas of commerce city. One of the sponsors of the new law the car legislature has also tried to pass the bill in years past but finally getting it done this year car to started its own assessment amid national discussions about the use of derogatory native american mascots and twenty sixteen state commission recommended schools should eliminate all native american mascots because of the misrepresentation and stereotypes they perpetrate perpetrate. Unless a school came to an agreement with federally recognized tribe strasbourg and arapahoe. High schools currently have agreement so the strasbourg idiots will not be changing. So why is it because okay they so they reach an agreement with one tribe in there. Okay does the fact that dave reached an agreement with one tribe make it less offensive. The loved one day needs just because they didn't reach an agreement with a try. Then that that indian that mascot is offensive but strasbourg. Oh they're fine. It goes back to some common sense and it seems to be lacking with this one The districts initial estimate for changing both mascots. We're talking about montrose highschool. The indians The district's initial estimate for changing both mascots is a combined five hundred thousand dollars to seven hundred fifty thousand dollars Though that could change mantra school district spokesman matt jenkins that would include everything from paint on the gym walls. Two scoreboards to school apparel. Well it's all going to have to happen. It's all going to have to happen because you can't have the old apparel. You can have that still there. Jacobs said the school schools have a good relationship with local tribes and try to respectful in the mascots us. There isn't one painted on the high school gym floor. But they don't have a formal agreement. The district plans to do whatever it needs to conform to the law. Yeah because twenty. Five thousand a month is is egregious Before we get an hour number two to Say thanks desert petting her clearly real estate. They real estate market is still just insane right now. And you're a fool if you liked their music and then they take their makeup off for a little bit. Remember that Kiss Unmasked. Remember that nobody was into it. Act House gene. Simmons looks like I was like hard past but they war everybody out. They wore everybody out. They stayed in the game. I mean they replace two members as freely impede Chris kind of rotated in now and eventually they replaced him with New People that play the same characters as a new dude. Is The cat dude new dude? Just go off. The rails guy went off the rails is diet and diet diets everything on the Carnivore. Diet during all this craziness. Because I'm just eating. Yeah I'm just eating calories because I like the supply chain and the way things are is no way I can justify only eating meat unless I'm only in my meat like the elk meat that I eat and I'll give you don freezer bags for you. Fuck yes I love giving it away to man. Eleven people cook it but other than that. It's like I need food like. I'm not concentrating on weird. Diets are make sure. I mean I could eat only meat but I'm not even thinking about that right now when I'm thinking about right now making sure that make the right decisions with everything that I do from here out because I think we're in unsung territory or a neverland. How long do you think you can go? I don't know but here's the thing we we. This is what I really feel like. We gotta do this together like it's not. The problem is even thinking. How long can you last was part of? The problem is even thinking that well. How long can we last? How long can all all of us last and I think this is if the power goes out? That's when we're really forced to cooperate and I don't want the power to go out. I wants to figure it out before that happened. I want us to take this plunge into the apocalypse and baby steps. Here's my question. Would you host a Shitty game? Show hold on if it meant giving money to people in need the money in this time they go. Hey Joe we want you to host. Who wants to be a millionaire? He but why would I do that that way when I could do it right here? I'm just saying I'm just anywhere else. No no I don't WanNa boss. You can't do it. Can't well nothing you do. You could do if someone was looking over your shoulder telling you what to do..

"This is who you will become at the ended the day and after all is said and done you can call yourself a man. What's up man? Good to see again good to see you another week of Ama Orion cities like really talk once a week but we get a lot done when we do talk. Yeah I don't get a lot done. We have a lot of conversations share a lot of words. I don't know if that moves anything in the right direction. We do share a lot of words. Although I for whatever reason I was kind of going through some old messages and they were from people. Oh you know sending this message is on the Ama and kind of got me fired up last night. I was like you know what this is. Good stuff and they were reaching out and telling you how how we were helping or whatever it may be exactly exactly. Yeah really needed me last night and I kinda got fired up with a good or bad is listen to this morning Andy Brazil and then I got even more fired up and I was like okay and you do that for sure. Keep your swearing to a minimum kip if you taste totally. I'm like I'm worried about a little bit of cursing I listen to him. It's like one minute I'm like. Oh my gosh shake my head. I've been pretty good about my I My lack of swearing. which is something? I'm trying to work on. I've been pretty good at it so it's been going well. I think we've been doing good overall. Yeah I think we've been doing better better. I don't know a good but better progress house that we're on we're on the path of progress in life right. Hey a couple of things before we get too much into this thing I got a message from gentleman from Brazil. His name is ED quite honestly. Can't remember he left me a a voicemail on instagram and asked if I'd give them a shot at mcgaugh course so this is to Ed from Brazil he. It was a voicemail on instagram. I'm sorry I didn't catch his last name and even if I did. I'm not sure it'd be able to pronounce it again. But Ed from Brazil you know who you are. We're glad tuning in also. Somebody had sent me a message that I thought would be pretty good as we talk today. They said it would be good to know how you and I met. And then what we like best about each other and what we like least about each other and I'm like we're not we're are not married. The wicked hug it out. Maybe afterwards right yeah. That's right so I thought as we get this thing kicked off. Let's do that so I'll give you my perspective perspective and then and then you share yours from there. How's that sound sounds great? So keep an eye met. I think kip. You're introduced through or to the order of podcast cash rather from a mutual friend. Mr Matt Jenkins you. We just heard from him a couple of days to send us both the text and I think your initial reaction to the order man. facebook group was like what in the world is. This this is. I don't need this. I'm Outta here but you did find out if I understand correctly that we had a podcast which you joined the podcast tuned into that then not long. After I joined the Iron Council became a team leader became the right hand man man if you will then we started doing this podcast and here we are. The rest is history. So we've shared that at length. I think before anything you would add to that as far as how we meant no I I I think I listen to that. I don't even remember what the first episode was but I remember listening to the first episode because I thought that facebook group was like something the Matt Adamy too and is like my way of supporting him. So I'm like okay. Asher all join in their neighbor. Yeah all these messages and unlike what the crap crap I'm GonNa unsubscribe because this is too loud too much noise for me and then I happen to see you make a post about a podcast and I thought Oh a podcast. That's cool also. I listened to episode and it only took one I listen to one episode is like this is really good stuff and then I immediately just maybe this his part of my personality but I downloaded them all started from episode one and for like a few weeks I was just pounding through episode so I could catch up up but I wanted to have the history if that made sense and through that process. Learn about Aaron Council from you talk about it in the on the podcast and immediately knew like man. I got to join these guys at the time. You announced the first uprising. And it conflicted with something I wanted to do. It was like Dang it and so price number two obviously joined and yes history right after that. So it's been great man it's been it's been an honor to be a member of the ICU. Let alone to help. Progress the movement forward. So it's been an honor to have you for sure. What do you remember for the very first episode that you listened to by ants? I don't I don't I I know I wish I would've made note of it. You of some sort. But you wouldn't no no you didn't know what you don't also it's not like some but this is back in the day win. You only did the interview shows on Tuesdays right so it was an interview with was someone. I don't remember that interesting. Yeah all right. Well let's get into the second component of this question which is what do you what do you appreciate or admire him. And I'm just paraphrasing here. appreciator Meyer about each other. And what is one thing that maybe I can't remember exactly what he said. Lisa like but that one thing that you would the other a little cities or something like that so try to create a rift is what he I don't think I mean you and I have a pretty good relationship that we haven't pulled pulled punches if something bothers us like it's not really bothering but if there's something like we always been willing to share that with each other so all right so what I like best about hip hip. I really like kipps perspective. I like KIPP that. You're empathetic your very thoughtful. In a way that I am not I tend to be more reactionary versus you. Who is more of a thinker and let's analyze this? Let's figure it out before we jump into conclusion and rush to something. Something that isn't isn't isn't right. Based on the information we have that I really admire and appreciate you about about because again I think it complements. That's what I bring to the table. And there's value in that and it's opened up my perspective and my desire to be more empathetic and understanding of what people are experiencing your instinct without jumping to conclusion rushing to judgment. That's what I would say again. I don't know how to phrase this one thing that just like now again. I don't know how to phrase bugs me or or something I again. I don't know how As I would say at the same time you know our strengths become our weaknesses. So sometimes you want analyze and pore over the data and the information and let's get the numbers and I'm like dude. We don't need the numbers we just need to go. Yes just go go go go go. So it's like that might seem like a cop out but again our strengths. Our weaknesses. So I appreciate your perception. I appreciate. Get Your perspective your thoughtfulness. You really want to know what's going on before you make decisions but at the same time dude. I don't want to know what's going on. I just WANNA go because I tend to be a little bit more. Maybe e rely a little. Bit more intuitively as opposed to thoughtfully. So yeah that's that's that's where I'm at now that's great actually and it's funny because in that same breath those are those are your pro and con as well like the the complete opposite right. I love the fact that you're a man of action like your default behavior is will act figure it out we'll learn through that process of action and and we're not gonNA over to analyze it or whatever and the same breath I subtype sued. We need to think about this a little bit more right because we may like go down a path and go. Oh Oh ship maybe we should. We're talking about swearing hustle. Oh shoot you know maybe we should have thought about that. I because now we implemented something that maybe was ideal. We should attested tested verse. Or you know what I mean trite things out more and so it's a complete cop cop out as well because it's the complete opposite of of you but I think that's that's one of you're traits that I admire in the same breath though you know what I what through this podcast. What I've learned and I it's it's funny because I don't think I admired you for this without the experience of being involved on this podcast and it is your compassion and your drive and clarity in regards to how you see things And and I and I don't think I realized how valuable that is and Detrimental possibly you used the analogy in the past of light yourself on fire people watch and I have my own interpretation. Take what that means when you say that and part of it comes down to been open to people criticising you because the reality of it is once you once you have a strong opinion. It's kind of dangerous. Sure Dennis and it's dangerous on this platform right. I had a friend from from high school. She sent me a message on this podcast and I really thought about. I thought WHOA issue going to agree with me. ISSUE NOT GONNA agree with me and how often we go throughout our lives without a platform. Like this where you keep your opinions to yourself and and people may love you because you keep your opinion to yourself and your opinions not known and it doesn't. That's why they would love you but they don't love you they don't hate you. Yeah but once you have a platform and you're running around with at this is my opinion Bubba Bubba. This how it should be all set any gives everyone the opportunity to go. I disagree and because of this platform it really puts. It's you and me through through helping kind of on this pedestal but on the stage for one to sit back and go I agree I disagree and not only that I don't like you because I disagree. I disagree with that. I don't think we like we had. Someone made a comment the other day on Youtube. He said all been listening to you guys for Lyle Lovett. Not Listening anymore because I disagreed with like a point and I'm like Whoa. Oh that's the world. We live in several. Oh I disagree with one thing about Ryan and then I go. Screw that list now like you're not educated enough. I I like his thought process. I don't disagree. I don't agree with him here but but I still like what I hear on muscle going to grow from it. We can't do that. Yeah it's weird. It's really really weird. I had a guy emailed me the other day in fact and he said man. I really love your podcast. Loved you guys stand for and what you do but you have this one particular guest on and I don't like this guy. I had an an experience with him and etc etc.. And so it's going to take off for me to listen to your podcast again and I don't know if he was expecting an apology or a police come back like let me beg you to come listen to my podcast but I simply said hey look man like we do our best to that guys. I know the people. Do we have honor at times controversial. You're not going to dig everybody but if you honestly can't listen to the podcast because you happen to disagree a you're not like one guest. I don't know what to tell you man like I'm not here to beg for your attention or to listen to the shows like do do but I I mean this is a little ridiculous. Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. But you know why that is is because we have this completely unparalleled hello level of access to information on demand so I actually made this analogy with with my guess yesterday Scott Adams and the analogy used as do you remember like when you and I were growing up we had tapes right. That's how we listen to music tapes and so we'd have to put. Yes it mix tapes. It's right man so we'd have to put the tape in and then we'd have to listen to everything because it was kind of a pain in the butt. have to fast forward to the one song. If you really take advantage you would have the tape player that would know when there's a blank spot in a guy in. Yeah so we had these..

"Anaheim. They're actually playing in Anaheim opening week is what Thursday opening day. Thursday's opening day. How many games are on? There's a lot of games. I checked earlier. There's a lot of games on Thursday. Really? It's pretty good. A lot of day games on the east coast to it'd probably about thirty five forty degrees for some of them. So now bad opening up on March, twenty eighth smart ideas. Feeding that's a bad decision. Right. I think it's a really bad decision. It's a good concept. They're trying to give the teams more days off during the season. But honestly, it's poor execution starting on March twenty eighth at just is poor execution. We have a late night tweet from one of your favorites. What do we of course, the notorious Conor McGregor? Zimbabwe's someone else wins like Anthony Showtime bettas he has to stick his nose that and say, hey, you're just like me now. Congratulations. I don't think this has anything to do. I don't know who this is directed at or four. But hey, guys quick announcement. I've decided to retire from the sport formerly known as mixed martial arts today. I wish all my old colleagues. Well, going forward and competition. I now join my former partners on this venture already in retirement, proper pinochle. Lot is on me, fellas. So does that mean whiskey in your pinochle? Know, apparently, which is sounds terrible. I don't believe any of the day. You know, don't. So he's retiring, and he's done this moldable times. Sure. I mean, it's I don't know who he's trying to take a shot. I wish my old colleagues. Well, going forward and competition I will now. Join my former partners on this venture already in retirement. So he's basically saying somebody has already been retired from doing is what he's saying. I don't know who he's taking a shot at I'm not too up on the game. What do you think my via? What is this? Some kind of crossword puzzle. I got to figure out how to me sounds like he's just saying I'm going to join all these other guys have retired and just doing their thing now. But I don't believe it. I mean, why is he doing this whole tour through the US right now with proper twelve if he retires that publicity goes away. So there's no way he's retiring right now in his prime. I can't wait to see him fighting and lose. Jimmy Fallon if he's going to just go out and Jimmy Fallon. I tweeted earlier it was on there tonight. Bottle of proper twelve whiskey on it. Drinking karaoke together for some segment or whatever really is very everybody who it'd be responding to this and the the I guess the community is pretty much saying, sure, sure, sure, whatever the same responses mafele, whatever J in DC or on CBS sports radio. Thanks for taking my call big guy. Hey. Course, mafia, I'm trying to figure out some rail. Maybe you can help me. How to do? Dr that game. I mean when they about three point win don't they survive and win don't they win the same old story like? Suggest you know, like my whole life. My dad went to do great. So my whole life. All I've ever heard about is is Duke. I've been hearing about dude so much. I I heard about dude so much. I went to Indiana. Okay. So like, I just can't stand him to say, you know. And I don't care if anybody thinks they're either my dad went there. He loves Duke. I don't I know it is what it is. I'm not a fan of them. I think it's over exposure to that makes me sick. You know what I mean? It's like to me every single college basketball season is about Duke, right? And no one else is that about right? I mean, North Carolina barely gets a scratching snap. You know? What I mean? They they get nothing who else gets attention Kentucky. Obviously do Kentucky Kansas. I I have to put North Carolina there. And North Carolina. Michigan state in Michigan. Right. And that's it. There's yeah. There's for the most part that's probably just about cover LSU is because they had the season. They had the only reason they're nowhere near same. Ever mentioned Houston. Now. None of the Minoan doesn't matter. What you do you take? It went thirty game. They don't mention them either. They know, but they always Matt Jenkins at the five or six that they that that are constantly mentioned. So I get sick and tired of it. It's just I'm so sick and tired of just the constant every games on national television. They're all that matter. I was watching sports center today. When I got the lady said they was Hannah storm. Don't worry. We got tons of Duke highlights coming up, and that's after they just showed eight minutes of them. So then showed like, eight minutes of Duke. And then they said we got more coming of do get a little bit. Just give us another twenty minutes, and a double commercial teasers will come back and give you more Duke. I just can't take it. It just never ends. Just it's like Duke TV's on TV I get sick and tired of it. And then to see a team play him like that. And you know, have him by the throat and to see that lay-up mass. And then that tip follow that seemed like it rolled around on a for five minutes and fall out. It just made me wanna vomit. I mean, it really did like I, and you know, it's even worse as my son is a Duke fan. So my father has brainwashed him. So now, he's a Dookie and he wants to go to do which I don't even know where I'll come up with the money for that. Because that's a fleecing isn't it to go to Duke, isn't that about sixty grand a year. I mean, I'm going to go broke just thinking about it. I mean, just thinking about it makes me I need therapy, Anita shrank, if my son goes there, and then I got to listen to the half of the rest of my imagine just coming now. I can't take it. In fact, I swear to God and praying on everything I have that North Carolina meets him in the final and beats them. I mean, I literally am on. I'm on my hands and knees praying at night that that it's North Carolina did. Please. I know. It sounds crazy isn't North Carolina. Playing Auburn that's a team. That's very dangerous right now that might be able to beat them. Texas tech. I think has a shot at them because you know, I thought they had a shot against them when they played them at the garden right had about a throat and slip through their fingers. I feel horrible for my dad 'cause he's got like, you know, little action going with the dementia thing going, and so I didn't think he knows they're in it. Like, he's the watches turn wherever you're live for any. Call me all day and harass me with Duke phone calls and just harassment Mavi remembers he'd call me and just leave him messages one after the next about Duke. Now, he doesn't even know they're in it. He doesn't even know it sucks for me to see him that he doesn't remember any of it or know any of it. It's crazy. I would that diseases doing the people Alzheimer's, and dementia is the worst absolute worst. It really is. I don't know. What's worse that cancer addiction? I really I can't keep up with all of it. Here we go. Let's get an update. And now that I've depressed all of you. Here's Jay Berman. "It is true. So you're right. But this specific purpose. I didn't mean to say that there weren't other purposes. But no, that's how serious they take. The Turks are very concerned about this. We understand this because there are various ties between some of the Kurdish organizations that we deal with specifically the p y y PG which is an element of the SDF the Syrian democratic forces, which is the military partner that we're working with against ISIS, and we understand in have daily exchanges with the Turks on this. Most importantly, we have a major activity with the Turks going on in the mom bitch region to the west of the U frady's where we're working to encourage the in wipe to leave that area. And that's preceding I think all in all quite well with the tricks. We have other concerns with them. But again, our relationship with not just the specific Kurdish potty, but other parties are tactical in. Transfer not transformational Metaxas. And. Temporary in order to secure a goal that we both share which is the in Minneapolis do which is the defeat of ISIS. We are not picking winners and losers in terms of any political movements inside Syria the way, we'll try to help all Syrians, whether they're in the northeast or elsewhere is to find a political process that allows a better government democratic elections and peace that everybody can profit from. It's just like we work with groups such as a critic ADP and the Shiite Arab Islamic revolution before two thousand three in Iraq. But when we went into Iraq, we didn't support that political party this political party. We just tried to work with all Iraqis to help provide a constitutional democratic system. And this is what will work in the international community to do for all Syrians State Department, special Representative James Jeffrey answering questions here to house foreign affairs committee hearing Jerry Connolly the democrat from. Virginia asking the questions. This is C span radio WCS PFM Washington. Well, thank you. My time is up. I would just say one must be very careful about preserving the integrity and good Davis states. It's one thing to decide that we're not taking political sides. It's another to abandon analogy put blood on the table when they were the only ones willing to do it and the Kurds fought and won territory, and it's it's a fine line between saying well, once we get the peace you, you're a party at the table. But you're not the only party or favorite party at it's quite another to make them. I mean to actually abandon them because side pressure from another country with a different agenda. Thank you, Mr. Connelly. Thank you so much now, please the hear from a Basset Wagner Anky van chair. Mr jenkins. As you noted conflict situations, put women and girls at a much higher risk of of violence and exploitation. I appreciate the the ways in which USA ID is working to protect this vulnerable population. What challenges has USA ID come across in its work to prevent gender-based violence, and how can congress help you overcome these issues that is Missouri? Republican Ann Wagner. Thank you very much for your question. And sadly, it is a fact of modern warfare that the victims that are hurt. The most are women and children, and he crisis that we're looking at and talking about right now in Syria. Many could say it is a protection crisis for all of the vulnerable. People IDP's multiple times over the number of widows and orphans is astounding in that population. And we're very dedicated to making sure that every one of our humanitarian assistance programs integrates protection for women and children into those program. But also last year we spent about almost twenty eight million dollars on programming specifically to protect women and children that looks like. Sometimes it's as simple as creating safe spaces for women and girls to be alone and away from from other parts of the community. It involves training healthcare workers training educators training, teachers for the what to look out for for people that might be victims of sexually based violence. It's working with healthcare workers on how you treat. Someone who's been a victim of specially sexually based violence and actually the provision of different equipment and materials for that. One of the challenges that we've had in the sector is there a lack of people that are Syrian in Syria who have been trained to handle these sorts of issues before. So because almost everyone I'd like to stress the training would be some way to congress could in terms of resources in such an arena, we're very thankful for the resources that congress has given and continues to give us to allow these programs to happen. It's not necessarily something that money can solve right. It's a time issue. And it's about just not having enough. People trained in Syria that have those those those skills over time we've been able to build a base for that. But I'm happy to ask my team and see if there's any actual asks they have basically most interesting embassador, Jeffrey, the United States cannot be implicit in supporting murderous Assad regime. How do we approach supporting civil society, and then many people in the opposition across the country. If we restrict our stabilization funding. This is she's been radio programming from Thursday. Once again, we believe in stabilization programs where we have our own forces on the ground, just as we believe in humanitarian assistance, which we have not just people outside of. Syria. But also, I think in fourteen provinces we have various partners that deliver aid. So various kinds of aid are underway. This specific issue a stabilization funding, the president took the decision, and I support that decision, of course, to try to get other countries to provide funding to reinforce what we're doing on the ground in the fight against ISIS where we beer ninety nine percent of the ground Syrian combat rope our advisory role and we've been fairly successful. So far, we've collected about three hundred million in the last nine months that money is now being. Deployed by teams that Matt Jenkins. And I. Are working with and we'll be trying to find further funding from the international community, which has as much of an interest in peace in serious. We do as thinking of the international community. I I understand that. The alternate peace talks that Russia, Iran and Turkey are hosting in the Steiner are a source of consternation to those of us who wish to see the UN. Brokered talks succeed and Vassar. Jeffrey can the United States leverage is relationship with Turkey a NATO ally to ensure that real peace is achieved? We think we can you're referring to the meeting that field early today at failed in good pop because Turkey would not yield to pressure from Iran and Russia to go along with essentially Damascus's vision of how the political process should end. Where we disagree with Turkey. Is we don't think that this particular format? Brings these three countries in as brokers between the UN and the real audience of the UN resolution, which says UN you talk to the opposition you talk to the Damascus regime, and you work out a peace settlement this astonished process has inserted itself between the two we went along with that we in the international community for a year, it has failed Russia's lined up at the presidential level last month to farm this constitutional committee by the end of December. It does not look like that's going to happen. Now, it's time to move on. And I agree with you. It is time to thank you. I I've run out of time saying passenger good questions, Mr. Schneider of Illinois. Thank you very much. And thanks to both of you for joining us today. I've said this before here is I look at Syria. There's three pillars of our interests there humanitarian security and strategic Mr. Jack and Jill work on an unitarian side. Eleven million people displaced five million people provided medical care. Your words were you say, quote, you whatever it takes to get the job done is is very much appreciated by us. And I hope there's the world has a chance to see what we're doing in that respect I'm gonna turn to you investor. Jeffrey. And you talked about Iran, and we've we've raised the issue of his ball and in other proxies. And you said it was an umbrella of which is Bala is at the top of the list. How big is that umbrella? Besides his what other groups are major concern who should we have on our radar. First of all all outside groups who are commanded by Iran and are supporting the Assad regime are of concern to us into most of the Syrian people and to most of the neighborhood, but you have certain groups that have come in. Sara groups from Afghanistan. Other groups from central Asia, you have certain Iraqi militias who have been active in the fighting in Iran has recruited some Syrians as well. But the bulk of the people are from China these militias are taking their orders from from his Bola. What's the command and control? Ultimately, it's the coulds force under Qassem Sola money. And I want to emphasize these people are outside of the chain of command of even the Syrian government bad as it is the Russians work through the Syrian government in through the regular army and normal institutions the Iranians common today strategy in Iraq. We see seen it in Lebanon. We've seen it in Yemen. Try to create parallel institutions that are loyal to and get their audience from Tehran rather than from their own fellow countrymen and own governments. That's another way that the insidiously infiltrate into other states. Exactly. But I think it's the insidiousness insidiousness of Iran. That makes us such a challenging threat. If you look over the last two years, how Iran's position changed over the last two years. And can you cite any strategies we've implemented any tactics that have successfully diminish their position. Ending the JCP OA as. Been a dash of cold water to Iran and all of its efforts with the region in two ways. First of all it stripped from it it's legitimacy as a. Trusted partner in international affairs, and international agreements, at least from our standpoint. Secondly, and most importantly, it has robbed of Iran, particularly with the beginning of the oil sanctions under the NDA at the beginning of this month. Major sources of finances for Rian to carry out its activities throughout the region. But even with that, my understanding is the basis that were destroyed over the summer by Israel have been rebuilt was reported this week that Iran continues to invest in indigenous missile manufacturing in Syria, and even in Lebanon, are they getting stronger or the ending weaker. We had a status quo. In my conversations with the Israelis, and I have to be very general here on the Israelis are committed to doing what it takes to ensure that Iran does not threaten Israel from Syria. We support Israel in this endeavour one hundred percent we've made that clear to the Russians the Israelis will have to speak to that themselves when they feel they need to act. I'm confident they will act I appreciate that. Because Iran on Israel's border as an existential threat, but US forces are north and. East of the afraid he's hundreds of kilometers away. What leverage are we demonstrating what effective paths? Have we shown that? We can we can put pressure exert pressure on Iran to move away from the border with Golan to move them away from supporting these proxy militias and getting them out of the country. Do we have any success so far? Again, we talked to the Russians about the necessity of achieving the retrial of all foreign forces from two thousand eleven on..

So we've got the caravan heading this way, we've got the debate that happened in Florida last night between the socialist Andrew gillum, and in the Republican Ron to Santa shirt, Ron right here on this program on Friday. So you've got that going for you, which is nice. And we also we also have the I guess the NFL players are not mad at each other. Boy, did I miss something over the weekend. I don't watch the NFL have watched him in three seasons now except for the Super Bowls. Is it true that that one player was another player because the other player was wasn't kneeling down anymore? I don't know if it's this. Yeah. But I don't know if it's one hundred percent that. Beef between these tweets now, it's it has to deal with them. And I think it has to do overall because guess he's calling him a sell out. And I don't know if Michael Jenkins remember his name from somebody Jenkins delegates Michael though it somebody Jenkins. I so I don't know if he is the head of of the he has to do with the players union necessarily. But I think he's. Right. And so I guess he's been doing south and helping out I guess his either charities our communities for the NFL and that other guy. Is it Eric remember the guy's name? I would guess somebody read Eric Reed. He was one of the the first he was calling cabernet teammate on the forty Niners back in the back when cholera cabernet was there. And he just recently got signed with with Carolina. So it's a pretty interesting that he's saying doing what he's doing considering. Let's let's let's talk about with this whole kneeling is supposed to be about. Now you and I might disagree and a lot of people listening and watching my disagree. But I'm going to tell you what Capri said it was about when he first did it again he didn't start kneeling. You started sitting and then ended up kneeling. Because it was more demonstrative or something that other people started kneeling to she said it was because he wasn't going to stand for the flag of the anthem for a country that bet that killed innocent black men, and and put people administrative leave with pay or something. His problem was that he believes we're an oppressive country where police officers suit up every day and go to work looking to kill a black guy. That's that's what he wants us to believe. And he wants to believe he's starting because now there have been plenty of side stories that he's dating some woman who's a radical lefty, maybe maybe a Muslim the Muslim or not not be radical. But allegedly she's a Muslim got his ear. Here's a guy that was raised in the suburbs by white family. He was adopted. Here's a guy that was always unabashed about as Christianity doesn't talk about that much anymore. He takes pictures with people like, Linda Sarsour. So Colin Kaepernick is either ignorant or he's just not somebody who likes the country is one of the other. But he also started doing this when he was benched he wasn't doing this. When he was the starting quarterback for the for the San Francisco forty Niners walked away from a contract worth ten ten million or eleven million dollars a year. And then he turned down another contract with another another team Denver Broncos. He's pretending like he's being blacklisted or black to the NFL. Let's let's say that he was really he really get his heart and soul decided he was gonna meal because he thought that there was something unjust happening in the community between the black community black neighborhoods, and the police let's take him at his word that that's his problem was an polo. Correct me if I'm wrong here, you know, more about the NFL tonight because I'm not paying attention to it. But the NFL as far as I understand has dedicated and promised a hundred million dollars to make things better between the police and communities and for so called social Justice. That is the number right? It's one hundred million dollars. Yeah. So the NFL steps up and says, all right? We hear you. We would like for you to stand up and show respect for the flag for those who have died defending the flag, and what it symbolizes and for the national anthem. We'd like you to stand up. We will give you one hundred million dollars toward your protests of worked. We'll give you a hundred million. Here's one hundred million dollars. And and let's start working on this problem. Let's get back to playing football and stopped the whole dealing stuff. So the one guy read tells the other guy Jenkins who stopped kneeling, I guess he's standing now and read is still kneeling because he's an idiot idiot readers Matt Jenkins for saying. All right. One hundred million dollars sounds good. Let's make that happen. Let's fix the problem. We've been saying there there is read is Matt Jenkins for saying. Thank you for stepping up hearing are protests and doing the right thing. Read just wants to continue kneeling. We do. I have it right, Paul. He's calling the sell out because he actually said well, thank you for stepping up hearing are protests and doing what we believe to be the right? Thing. Right. That is what happened right? He's calling him a sell out because he's actually not feeling anymore because the NFL stepped up and said, we'll do something. Protests about if it wasn't about about fixing whatever they felt the problem was that's what they're trying to do. Were you gonna say I mean, pretty much accusing basically taking the money from the NFL and then right? And I guess basically shutting up now. Well, I guess here's a simpleton. You told me this every day. I'm a simpleton. What exactly is it that you kneeling about then if it's not about solving a problem, whether a figment of your imagination or a a real problem solving that then what is it about just to get a camera trained on you? While you deal is it so that you can wear a fell Castro shirt to a press conference after the game. Like capper Nick did holding up on high a murderous dictator and Cuba's Fidel Castro. What is this actually about is it about just getting attention is it about tweets is about re tweets what's it about? If it's done about solving the problem. Now, if you want to solve the problem, and you want to kneel or protest or do what you think will help to bring the solution. Although I disagree with you when you claim this is the problem. You at least you'd have an game. You at least should say, this is what will stop me from Ulan, if you're gonna Neil forever because you think that the the country was founded by bad guys, and it could never be a good country. And unless we hand every black person in America million dollars or something we can never ever make up for slavery. If you're that guy, then you're never going to stop kneeling. There's nothing that can happen to fix whatever your issues. But if you truly wanted some sort of an end game, if you truly wanted some way to say my kneeling my protesting, my my raising my voice by being silent. Or whatever has achieved something what does that look like? I I guess a better question. A better way to ask. The question is what do you want? Because what you're doing is disrespectful. It's anti America. It's anti freedom liberty. It's anti military. It's anti police. So what is it you want to stop being that guy? And if you can never stop being that guy that I'm never coming back to the NFL. And when I say, I I mean, the millions of men and women and children who decided not to watch your game because you're a bunch of jerks. They don't even have any clue why you're doing it. If you're arguing with a guy who is satisfied with one hundred million dollars towards solving the problem, then you don't know what you don't have a solution in your mind to whatever it is that your problem happens to be today. Eight eight eight nine four one eight eight eight nine four one seven two four seven on this program. It'll be Andrew Pollock. We'll talk about the the debate in Florida for governor in that happened last night the Santa's versus Gillam lot of real insight came out of that. I saw a guy on the left the socialist who who first of all has been coached a lot like many on the left have been now as to what to say when you attack your opponent also has been coached into not answering questions the guy, I believe showed himself to not be somebody who can be the governor of Florida. But we'll talk about that. We'll also have on the program Braschi Gabrielle about the caravan of people heading north. It's two to five thousand people. Now, what do we do? What can we do? What's the law and much more? Oh, we've got that. Plus, David Hogg, one of the survivors. There are well over a thousand survivors there. But for some reason, we hear about the three Emma Gonzalez, Karen Caskey, and David hug, he said for some reason he was in Vermont doesn't live there. He's from Florida. He has connections in California. Does it live Vermont? But he was there along with Emma Gonzales, and he actually said that the. The killer and parkland, heist in amnesty high school parkland, he actually said the guy was a law abiding gun owner, make sure you hear what I just said. He actually said that guy was a law abiding gun owner. That's it's a flat out lie, and he has to know that. So we talk about that as well. Lots going on eight eight eight nine four one pags joepags dot com. Stay.

"Yeah. The ball home in. Music in the NFL you get a lot of one hit wonders, Steelers going to be good for a long time. Patriots gonna be good for a long time. I have a feeling Philadelphia's going to be good for long time. The Seahawks guy little vanilla ice Seahawks. Got a little bit l. ice San Francisco with Harbaugh halo ball Hau-man like Saxon Ville last ten years. One one playoff appearance. I like Jalen Ramsey great player, but gronk is good. No question. He's better better with Tom than he would be with Ryan tannehill. But when you look at the numbers, he is worth a field goal. He is worth a field goal. Just remember this. Outside of quarterback Vegas doesn't think most NFL players, even the great ones are worth more than a point. He's worth three times. Joy Taylor with the news. On the news. This is the heard line news. I got a little bit of news before we get to the heard line news and that is Erin. Donald. The Rams near Donald have finalized a record six year. One hundred and thirty five million dollar including an eighty, seven million dollar guaranteed God for her sources according to Adam schefters the richest defense at the NFL history. Donald is now tied to LA for the next seven years. And of course we'll be ready. Monday night the raiders and maybe probably not. Now, Khalil Mack, does it appear? The Rams are the only team in the league that is not working with a salary cap. They've got something going on. Sure. So in shut 'em Schefter also tweeted that his salary cap number for the two thousand eighteen season rises from six point eight, nine, two million to eight point eight, nine million. So they so they still have room in their salary cap. What the Rams are clearly able to do and teams that are lower like the raiders can't do is in order to give eighty seven million guaranteed. You have to show in your Bank. You have eighty seven million dollars, the raiders don't. And so STAN Kroenke is either the richest owner in the NFL or second richest to Paul Allen. They are giving out guaranteed money like they're the Yankees in sport with no salary cap. And I, I'm here to tell you ninety percent of the teams in this league. They're not right in those guaranteed bonus checks. They're not giving you those guaranteed money to everyone. That's for sure, but on, he got his contract. So earlier this week we talked about this Matt Jenkins said he. Wanted the Super Bowl champion, sign hanging eagles locker room gone and that thinker Jenkins head coach, Doug Peterson's listens to listen to his players and decide have the banner moves elsewhere and lane. Johnson seems time with also listen. Aren't looking at every day. One one spray strip for the city, but are as new year on. Thanks, good to. Fresh with our. I actually this whole mentality starting to make me kind of believe in the eagles. Again, I'm going to go as far as I is is Super Bowl, but. The fact that they are aware that that those kind of subconscious messages that were already on top, you know, we won the Super Bowl, and this is kind of distracting to have this in the locker room. Is it the time? I think they're too well-coached too well, quarterback and too good on the lines. Not to be very viable. Doesn't mean they're gonna again. You can have injuries. Listen, you, can you can have you get beaten, a hail Mary. I mean, but their personnel there coaching in their quarterback and their general manager, how he rose them. They're just too good at the top and have a good own. So I do see this. I'm not saying they're going to do a New England run. Right? But the first thing I always look at who's your owner, who's your GM who's your coach and who's your quarterback in if you can give me be plus to a minus and all those. That's the Steelers. That's when you'll ask for ten to fifteen years. They're built to be sustainable. So Josh Rosen has made no secret of his grudge about being drafted as the fourth quarterback in round one and with one approaching here to tell everyone that nothing has. Changed, but it's always in the back of my head these teams that kinda screwed it up. I definitely won't let them move it down when when all said and done frustrated and still am, but I don't really need much extra motivation..

Problem even the knee is slugging. Percentage one hundred fifty coins this year when I never. Swing he's always been very short for the. Ball he doesn't have his. Way he's slinging literally all arms and he doesn't have any drive on hasn't really for the entire. Season I hope he comes back next. Year the worst thing that can happen is all of a sudden turns in the Mark, race Won't be a problem. A quick quick analogy on the reg. Pitchy if you've got a second please yeah wait on me I find it absolutely galling The red management continues to roll out non prospect, in the starting rotation, it's almost like they train Chris Chris Welsh. The read office cue-card about how they're all gonna live through the bumps, and. Bruises, believe it or. Not outside of red. Land Drafting develop pitchers that come up and our competitive and half solid years, and they do really well let me finish In the entire history of the, read? The dates back to well the oldest franchises in the history of the. Sport I believe in eighteen. Eighty nine correct Before the, draft The first draft roughly one hundred years of. The franchise history the reg never scouted signed and developed a picture that went on to become a hall. Of Famer inch the draft in. The mid sixties they have never drafted and developed a pitcher that went on to go the, hall of, fame I, believe break gut. String pop Deavere I find that to be not. Just a coincidence I feel as though if this club had any chance at any kind of long term success they literally need, to bring out bring in literally some sort of outside Influence the completely pools every single thing that we've ever done to develop pictures says okay, we're just going to do it completely How to draft and develop. Pitchers even down I mean look I'm not. Even looking for I'm not even looking for. Hall of famers when I go back thank you so much for the phone. Call I was built back to nineteen seventy five they've drafted and developed. To, two and, not even draft signed. And developed to, I will go Mario Soto and Johnny Cueto to bona fide number, ones now Murray sodas reds hall of Famer he's never gonna come close to Cooperstown, and I don't think Johnny Cueto is either but. I think you would call those two guys bona fide staff aces. And yes, they've developed, other serviceable and sometimes very good pictures Tom, Browning would certainly lead to the to the. Top of mind but yeah I mean the overall point remains in and to me it's when the reds let go Bryan price I thought one of the more interesting things that we really didn't talk about. Was that they also let go Mack Jenkins who had been such a a mainstay, in the organization for such a long time it'd been. A big part of the the overall pitching philosophy that was, set, forth and I just wonder how much Of that. Was a, you, know given Brian prices background. Given Matt Jenkins background and given where the team was and how. His story bad the starting pitching was at. The beginning of the year how much of. That signified all right we're going to go back to the drawing board when. It comes to to starting pitchers because you're right now with a lot. Of, young pitchers, the the growing pains. That are kind, of built in at the same time it feels like here those, growing pains last a very long time longer so than other organizations and I think, one of the goals has to be especially with. There being such a such a premium on on young cheap controllable. Talents not, just getting, these guys to the big leagues but but, getting them here to the point where they. Hit the ground running get them here to the point where they're instantly ready to contribute get them here to the point where they are almost instantly ready to get it and go now that's not going. To happen with everybody but again for a team that's never gonna spend a huge, amount of dollars on on on Free agent pitchers you, would think there'd be a bigger premium on getting guys not just to the, big leagues but in years one two and three when guys aren't, making that much money get them to a point where they're ready to stay in a rotation. Get him to a point where they're ready. To to be a part of a bona fide legitimately good major league rotation and unfortunately here That just hasn't happened the Joey Votto thing look by his standards it's. Not a good year is he swinging all arms look he doesn't look the. Same and I've watched I'll? Go eighty five percent of. Joey vodkas at bats threat. Is major league career I know what he looks like. When he's comfortable I know what he looks like when that when, he has, his timing down I. Nobody looks like when when, when his his swing is where it needs to be and I've seen that for the overwhelming majority of, his reds career this year just? Layman's is I, e he just. Doesn't look, comfortable how much of that is you know what those legs could use a periodic rest the Joe is reluctant to take how much of that, is just you know a bad off season how much of, that is you know the league, making an adjustment tool, that he really hasn't been able to to make this, year how much of that is age I don't know but it's true, and it's I think the the thing that I would hate this year's of if Joey continues to kinda give around and. The numbers really Plummet let's not just a tribute this season to the injury in. The final six seven weeks of the year let's look back on the entire. Season and hopefully Joey can? Can spend this off season. Figuring out a way to. Get back to what it used to be but I. Think the the more important thing for the reds is build a, team that's, that's capable of withstanding. Joey Votto goes inevitable regression, Joey's had a remarkable six seven eight year peak stretch right that I think is going to be good, enough to put him in Cooperstown? Build a team, that's good enough. To absorb, what might be starting to happen with Joey Votto where he's still good he's just not a lead anymore are we very yet I'm gonna stop short of saying that put the numbers don't lie by his standards. The numbers aren't close to as good as they have been they're not awful by any stretch so can you. Figure out a way to build a team that's good, enough, around Joey Votto that he's certainly still contributes to put his insulated against what may happen now that he's approaching thirty five. Years old were you do need a little bit more often where it takes a little bit longer. To recover from injuries were injuries. Do occur more often Think it's going to be really worth paying. Attention to and I certainly think it's something the reds in. Their collective brainchild they're going to..
