"Sig stuff, all that kind of thing is coming. So stay tuned. This is what the bottom of the Bitcoin bear market feels like, I guess. I don't know. I'm fine. I have it. Give me some of the tips. Keep selling me the cheap sets, please. I'm excited to chat with Matt. Hi, Matt. How are you? Hey, what's up? Who just said that? Isabelle, Fox and duke. We met at tab, David introduced us. I remember hi. Very pumped to hear this conversation excited. Let's just dig in then. Because Isabel is now introduced Matt. Hey Matt, good morning. Good morning, guys. How are you doing? Pretty good. Hey, can I ask that we also bring Aiden, my partner and CTO up onto the stage as well. He doesn't appear in public very often, so this is something of a treat. Anybody that you want, you're welcome to bring, have them request to come up. They have to actually be on the app. They can't be on a browser. But have them request, otherwise we can't see them, because there's like, I don't know. People in here, there's no way to see them all. Yeah, he'll raise his hand here in a second. I'm sure. He's on a phone. All right, Matt. Well, thanks for joining us. Very excited to be talking to you guys about what you're doing. I know there's a bunch of swans who have ordered stuff from you guys. And it's pretty fascinating. So for those people who don't know what star 9 is, if you don't mind, would you give a 5 minute summary on what start 9 is? What are you guys doing? Why are you doing it? And then, you know, we'll start opening it up to whatever it is you guys are working on and then we can do some Q&A if you like. Yeah, that sounds good. So we are in the broadest sense of computer company. And our goal as a company is to make self hosting software open-source software accessible to everyone. And that might sound really boring right out of the gate, right? But when you understand what that means, and you understand that in the current model of computing, that basically your cell phone and your laptop, all these things that you call computers or devices, are really functioning as remote controls that are operating somebody else's computer somewhere else.

"Like two years to get LA chargers. What about the angels? I haven't said Cleveland guardians once, where I've got it right without taking a pause. That's a toughie. They've been the Indian soul on. Well, they haven't been in the news. The commanders have been in the news. Right. So I think that it's probably fresher on your mind. Matthew, in Texas, Jon says, best and worst of the weekend. Hi, Matt. Hi, Dan. Thank you for taking the call. The worst of the week is tyrants having this annual injury for the cowboys. They're going to have to play probably The Rookie from Tulsa, what I'm reading, and he led the country and holding penalties. So last year in college, the best weekend, two things. I did hear you all talk about it, but last week, Better Call Saul had a great ending. And college football coming back. Thanks for taking my call. All right, thank you, Matthew. Yeah, I've been watching city on a hill. Kevin Bacon. It's good. Spicy. Good stuff. About Boston police department. Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, the executive producers there. Yes, he. I started the wrecks on the Ryan Reynolds show. And and with Rob McElhenney, from everything sunny and always sunny in Philadelphia. Yeah, yeah, it's really good. It's great. They're quick episodes. So it's not a major commitment. And right now, I think there's only two out. It's a really good watch though. Trying to think if there's anything else that. Any other shows, I'll tell ya, I'm gonna backseat down the wreck some thing, my wife who doesn't care about soccer at all. Halfway through the first episode, I went to turn it off, she goes, no, no, no, this is good. Yeah. She was a couple of hot guys on that. Ryan Reynolds is easy. Let's go. Come on. He actually tries to dumb it down like try to mute his looks.

"Unfair and inaccurate, a Duchenne also has a purpose Ted hazmat. The Stephanie Miller show apologizes to introduce nozzles everywhere. Which really do have a very important purpose. They do. We did not mean to question anybody's freshness. Okay. Enable longer your private parts, Ted Cruz does not. That is also true. That's right. Matt, you're on the Stephanie Miller show. Hey Matt. Hi, Matt. Matt is on the cell. It's not my fault, palo pone. So don't call back. I don't want to hear your bolt. Okay. How about Edward and Sierra madre? Hello, Edward. Welcome. Hello, good morning, everybody. Stephanie. Hi. You're a perfect gorgeous flu tampering with all that. I'm not tampering. I'm just a fine tuning. Hey, you know, something listen has taken 1150. So I'm looking forward to it. You know, my head wants to explode with these guys on the right. But the bottom line is with these viable beating fundamentalists. Fundamentals care. They want us to call them Christians because they know that they know that they're hiding behind that. They're hiding behind all the positive fullness of these Christianity. They're really eye for an eye people. They don't the part that Christianity truly teaches about, you know, don't judge lest you be judged. That has everything to do with a woman's right to choose. And who do we to walk in their shoes, man? We are not where they're at. They're facing a life in situation. And we should not be judging them. Yeah. So they don't buy into the clothes and name it in feed the boundary. How does their part appreciate? So every time we talk Christian, they're happy. Yeah. What they really are are fundamentalist parents. I voted for senator Sanders in the primary. But he voted for Secretary of State Clinton. Thank you. Vice President Biden and the general. Thank you. And I voted for Liz Warren in the primary, you know? By the way, are you the guy in the Californians GPS? Are you the guy? Are you the voice guy? Because I need directions to Newport Beach together today, 'cause I'm driving alone this time. I never go anywhere without the Californians. I want to get to that place that sells Mexican country style chairs. We're good at taking San to send a to where it curves into wheelchair to the four O 5 north and have to move. What? This time of day, it's gonna be jam. Okay, I can recalculate the route. So you can take Santa Monica to sunset and Laurel canyon to Ventura, which would totally take you by that stand that sells fresh tinge rings off in mine. Dude, I change my mind. I want to go to that scented candle shop and mill rose. Look, take pico to the one ten then to the one O one bell for Vermont. I'm afraid I can't allow you to do that. You do that. This rude is too important for me to allow you to calculate it. Give you not cool. The Californians, GPS. Don't let your GPS put you on Beverly Glenn because you don't want to end up in encino. I swear it was that guy. It had to be that guy who just called. I think so. By the way, does anyone else feel their GPS silently judging them? Not just when you don't do their directions, but I went to dinner because what time do I go to dinner? Actually, but I went out with a person. And no, it's when the restaurant opened at 5. Oh, will you? Siri, judging me, because she was like, where do you think you're going? Calculating restaurant, maybe not be open when you get there. I'm like, shut up, Siri. Okay, I know, I will be 5 o'clock last time I get there, just shut up. Who goes to dinner at 5 o'clock? You loser. The restaurant is not even open, yet. Do you want me to circle you around the block? Loser? I was like, no, it won't be shut up, okay? It'll be open. Just tell me how to get there. There's an early bird special around the corner. The restaurant is not open yet. Why are you going for breakfast? Grandma, did you remember to put your teeth in? It's not lunchtime. Shut up. I know what I'm doing. Do you? Not really. I just felt silent. Not so silently judged. Okay. Recalculating root of your life, you obviously have made some wrong turns to get here. Where you are going to dinner at 5 o'clock. On a Saturday. You obviously did not recalculate if root in your life. I've ended up. I will drive you into

"Hi, everybody. Dennis prager here if you're not familiar with the new film, what is a woman, one man's journey to answer the question of a generation. It's a documentary out by Matt Walsh at the daily wire. If you're not familiar with it, it is very important that you see it. It'll shake you up. It's a major work and now the book accompanying it has just been released. Again, what is a woman, the book is up at the Dennis prager dot com. And it's a delight to welcome Matt Walsh to the show hi Matt. Hi, Dennis. Thanks for having me. Indeed, I asked you off the air how long did it take for you to make this documentary? Yeah, I was a solid year. We first came up with the idea back in the beginning of summer last year and it was from that point to release was about a year and a good portion of that was actually on the road filming. Were you surprised by what you learned in the course of that year? I actually was and I was surprised by how much I was surprised because I kind of thought that going into this, I figured I'm pretty invested in this issue. I have no quite a bit about it. I thought, and but there were a lot of revelations even to me. And really the first thing that I learned that I didn't know was just how pervasive and widespread this confusion is or this apparent confusion because we talked to only a small fraction of it actually is in the film, most of it can't make it in for time, reasons. But we talked to dozens and dozens of people all over the country just man the street type interviews. And no matter where we were, who we were talking to or how old they were, almost everybody seemed to be confused about basic questions of men versus women and basic questions of biological reality. Were they confused because they're not familiar with chromosomes or they can identify specific body parts to a woman or to a man or they confused because they have been confused by the culture into believing that there's no definition. Yeah, I think it's, I think it's a bit of the latter confused by the culture. And I also think that that's why I say it's apparent confusion because I picked up on it. In fact, some people told us outright that they can't talk about this issue on camera because they're afraid that they'll lose their job. They'll lose their friends, their reputation. So I think there were a lot of people that we talked to who were just afraid, you know, in their hearts and their minds, they know the difference between a man and a woman, but they're afraid to talk about it. So I think that's a lot of it too. And that actually, to me, is I think even scarier. The idea of everyone really being confused about what a woman is, is scary. But then to me, it's even more frightening when you consider that most of these people know, but they're actually afraid to simply say out loud, something like, well, women are the ones who have babies, right? That has become this unspeakable truth. And the fact that it's unspeakable, that's filtered down to just average people walking around on the street..

"Thanks for everything you do for podcasters everywhere, Dave, and I can't wait to hear your thoughts on everybody's responses today. Thank you, Kim, we'll get to that in just a second and last up slightly belated. I think it was yesterday. Happy birthday to Matt. Hi, Dave. It's Matt rafferty. Co host of the author inside you, and you were asking about whether our show is on all the directories. It's on every directory that I know of through lips and I host through lips and I listen to you and to elsie and rob, the co hosts of the feed lips podcast, and they talk about new directories when they come out. So I sign up for them, figuring why not get the word out there. Why not have your podcast episodes available to as many people as possible? But I wanted to let you know about something else I've been doing recently. So after I upload my file to lips and lips and creates a video on YouTube of my graphic and the audio, I've been downloading that file, that video file, and uploading it to Vimeo. I created the new Vimeo account just for my podcast and I have been uploading episodes there. Now, I figured why not put it on there, it may come up in a search engine result. Somebody may just find it on Vimeo, you never know, and it's free. Now they do limit how much space you have on Vimeo, unlike YouTube. But it's still a considerable amount that they'll give you for free. There's really no disadvantage to it and it really doesn't take that much time. So, if you're thinking about writing a book, you got to check out my podcast. It's called the author inside you and you can find it at the author inside you dot com and you.

The Atheist Experience

"What good would quoting the scripture do, sir? How much you let me do it then? I know. I'm asking you what good would it do for you to quote scripture? People see that you're scared. You just made a real profit. How about you let me quote description? I met a real prophet who's a coward and won't even use his real name and calls in as holy rebel movement. Why won't you answer the question, what good would it do for you to read the scripture? I got power on me. That's why I can do this all day long. You ain't got no power in your gun and got no power. I am afraid your God could give me a hangnail. Why can't you answer a simple question? What good would it do for you to read scripture? They just talking, you just talking over me the whole time. I tell you what, I'm gonna mute you for a second. I'm gonna ask this question and then I'm gonna unmute you. And if you don't answer this question, you're done. What good would it do for you to read scripture on this show? How about you let me read description, we'll see. I asked you a question, what good would it do for you to read scripture on this show? Because you say it show me how God give you this. So I have to go back to the scripture that I base your Bible is complete fiction. At best historical fiction, we don't believe a word that says, especially about Supernatural claims, that's why we don't care. It's completely irrelevant to anything to for you to put something that we don't accept as being true. Or relevant. I tell you what, everybody stopped talking. You have 30 seconds to read whatever scripture you want. And if you stray from the scripture, if you whine even the slightest, if you try to make an accusation against me one more time, as soon as I stop talking and say, go, you can start reading the scripture for 30 seconds. That's it, go. Go tell your people to read John 1613. I don't have to read it to you. You're scared. Now, you take that 30 seconds and go run somewhere. I tell you what, how about you get banned from the show permanently for being a little coward? Who I just gave you the opportunity to read. What was the verse? What was the first you wanted me to read? You ran. What was the verse you wanted us to read? What was the first you wanted me to read? John, chapter 16, John chap 16 versus 13. Okay. Here you go. I'm gonna hang up on you. And then I'm gonna read this scripture that you think I'm scared of reading since you're too scared to actually engage in an honest discussion. Goodbye sir. John, chapter 16 verse 13 says but when he and the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own. He will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. Here's the thing that holy rebel movement doesn't understand. And that is, even if the Bible said, if you receive a good prophecy, it must be from God, that doesn't prove it unless you already begin by believing the Bible. And you don't get to begin by believing the Bible in order to try to prove the Bible. That's circular reasoning. It's fallacious. None of us here are remotely afraid of Bible reading other than the fact that it might bore people to tears, put audience members to sleep or be absolutely disrespectful for you to sit on here like a whiny little bitch while a bunch of other calls are waiting for their turn to have a useful conversation. I'm sorry that your God has given you the weakest prophecy I've ever heard, the day after the election that Joe Biden is going to be inaugurated. I'm sorry. That's the best year God can do. And I'm sorry that the best you could do was to complain about how I wouldn't let your read scripture because I'm a big scaredy cat. Yeah. Not afraid to read scripture just don't think any of it's true. So, I mean, there are parts of it that are historically accurate. For the most part, historical fiction. And you can put from The Hobbit and be just as justified I suppose. On that note, while we're waiting for some, there's not, by the way, there are callers waiting and I get to one here in just a second. There are no theists on the line. Evidently, we have scared away all the theists, because we won't let them read scripture, I guess. I don't know what the deal is. So if you have a God belief and you want to call in and talk about it, as long as you can do something other than wine and complain and actually talk about why you believe what you believe, I'm happy to take the call as we've demonstrated for more than 16 years. But Arnie, in Washington, is calling with an interesting story about, I don't know, listening to us. So here we go. Hi, Matt hi, Jim. For my second favorite. Shannon is my first, but it's still a compliment. Wait a minute. Did you just call in to tell us that we're not your favorite? And you thought I wouldn't hang up on you right away? I mean, I'm known for hanging up on people and you're like, oh, well, all right, Shan's my favorite too, so good. So all right, so we're good. Okay. So basically a while back, you kind of gave me some homework. Not explicitly sort of implicitly. I'm next foreman. I was calling in, we were discussing basically these spiritual experiences that I had been questioning that I had had as a Mormon because as a Mormon I kind of considered them revelations from God. And I hadn't really let that go yet and so I was sort of questioning what those experiences meant. And you pointed out that if God had given you some kind of spiritual experience or revelation and that you later sort of started questioning that revelation that you could turn to God again and get confirmation for that because after all, he gave you an experience once he should be able to give it to you again. So I gave that a lot of thought and basically from that call to now I've been sort of putting that to the test and sort of basically praying when I was not in a vulnerable emotional state and just sort of like calm and collected and praying to God for some kind of confirmation. And in the absence of feeling any kind of confirmation that I'm kind of forced to conclude that although it doesn't falsify any possible model of God, it does sort of falsify in my opinion, the notion of a God that's able to and willing to communicate with me because otherwise why wouldn't he communicate? So basically I know an atheist, I think and that's kind of like how I got there. Although Shannon played a big part, so I want to pass on that to her. Well, congrats. And I will pass this on to Shannon as well. Go ahead, continue. Thanks so much. Okay. Well, now that I'm an atheist, I've been hearing a lot about this inner circle. So how do I get into that? I'm afraid I tell you that, but I couldn't tell you on the air and I'd probably have to kill you. Or at least the first thing you have to do is show up with a baby for us to eat and prove that you're working for Satan. Oh, wow. Okay. All right, so there's a big. Okay. I'm not there yet. Yeah. The cake is worth it. Well, on that note I want to say that, first of all, congratulations for doing what some other people don't frequently do, which is to actually evaluate your beliefs and put things to the test. A lot of people get scared away, especially Christians, the passages, that's not put the lord that got to the test. And I heard this over and over and over. I mean, it was this stock answer every time I said, well, why not this? Well, why not this? I heard it a lot..

Yeah you know what i'm talking about. I do yeah did you see. This documentary meant yes. I sure did. I'm a huge fan of bob. Ross not only as an artist. But just like someone to put on in the background. When i need to calm anxieties. Yeah like yeah. He's incredible it's a it's a. It's a really great documentary about bob ross. I never knew the whole story. But it's all about where he came from how this guy came to be just painting landscapes portraits on on television. And how it went on for years and years and years and he just became incredibly successful but of course the part of the documentary. That's kind of tragic is how he was exploited by these people around him and This this husband and wife team sort of exploited him and you know got his name and likeness and they got the rights to all of it and They really screwed him over and screwed over his family. And it's just a very powerful documentary and it just got me thinking with. This happened to me. Oh because i was watching it. And you know how this tendency matt. Whenever i look at anything i immediately make it about me. Yeah i do know that. That's sort of. That's called pulling a coenen so i'm watching this. Bob ross was well known as being just this incredibly talented guy and just magnetic once in a century talent and he's on television and people love him he's very sweet and all he cares about. Is the work sound familiar. Matt all he cares about is making a good podcast or a good late night show. I'm sorry i'm forgot. I'm not talking about bob now. But all he cares about is putting out quality and connecting with people and being real and spreading his infectious joy and connecting people to his god given talent and bringing the people of earth closer together but then these people come along and say hey we could monetize this. Who are you getting at well. I'm just saying it's something i worry about. But you know our podcast. Guru adam sacks. I don't even know if he's here is here is here.

I mean that must always strange. Oh it was great. I have a question. She is an assistant. That's like renting an apartment to someone and then they sublet it and just make the money might technical title and i started was conan's personal production assistant but it was really direct like reporting to sona right so basically i think. Follow up on that question. When sona got an assistant it meant david was my assistant. Sona was watching her shows right She was watching her shows. And you were running around putting out fires left and right. I also watched a lot of show. She told me so. She shows that she tell you could watch or any show. Oh so she encouraged you to be a bad assistant. Well it was a few weeks. N and i would come down every once in a while. Just check and see if she needed anything and finally one day. Has i've watched seventeen season because he works for you. Yeah line only fourteen of them on your dime. Anybody do anything that works for me george. Who's there may associate producer. I've never found evidence that he does anything. And we've made it a bit on the show and people think it's a bit and it's not a bit. We don't know what he does. Sonal never knew what she was doing. Sony used the corp card tobias lunch a lot so thanks for not supposed to happen we would get your lunch too and then yeah and then i eat it both because i've seen myself at i'd see myself in the monitor at rehearsal and say oh look at chunky. They're chunky gets no lunch and you guys would eat my lunch. I would go get your groceries every monday. What groceries you would get like turkey and apples and like home groceries or for the off like for the office. I'd go to whole foods every monday. So if you don't know where you are you somehow stumbled upon this a wormhole in your ear. You just don't know what's happening. This podcast is two girls. One podcast eleonore performers are performers. We do show called blogs where we perform the internet. live on stage using it as our script We then went on scripted adventures with people behind the post. A website series called girls one show basically were really into the internet and it led us here to one where we're talking to people behind communities and phenomenon on the internet that we find interesting and humidity guest today has to do with britney spears but very specifically free britney movements alley what. What's going on with all that. So okay britney when she had that public breakdown you may recall like around two thousand eight or so. She was put into a conservator ship which basically means that the courts decided she was not able to control her own assets in her father now controls them which is sort of suspicious because he's making a ton of money off of her and wasn't really involved before that and a lot of her fans have been saying for a long time if she is so incapable of managing her finances. Than how does she manage to do vegas residency and the you know the amount of work that she's doing. I think people look at performers. Something like it's fun and games but britney knows how to work. Yeah she does work at and also. I think it's very rare. As far as i know somebody that young and capable as far as we know in the public to have conservative ship so there could be something. Going on with britney spears. None of us know about which is likely the case. But anyway this segues to today because we're gonna be talking to some activists from the hash. Tag free britney movement which really came out of all of this started online and has become something that's actually translated into the real world into real life activism and jen. You and i both watched the documentary. Which the new york. Times documentary which sidebar new york times during a documentary about britney spears. You know mixed feelings on that but anyway. This is really interesting. Though when i thought was the most interesting part which i suppose we'll get into today is the is it kind of looked at how the discourse around feminism and mental health have both changed and how that has impacted the narrative right so that was really interesting. You know like in two thousand eight. Everyone just loved to be like britney's insane. She shaved her head right. Whereas like the documentary really couches. It in that time it plays and what it's like to be stocked by the paparazzi. And so perhaps she shaved her head just so people would stop trying to get photos. And then you know. There was that iconic accan- account with that's right word but the moment where she liked beat up paparazzi car with a golf club. When you watch the documentary. You're probably do that too interesting. You know so much. More empathetic luck in terms of mental health. But also like the attention she got as a woman and anyway. So there's really interesting telling it's just fascinating in terms of storytelling telling the same story in the new way. Yes we're gonna talk to these folks about how they got involved what they're doing You know what their view on. All of this is just to say right up front that a brittany spears father has called the free brittany movement more of like a conspiracy. So you know. There are multiple sides to this story just to say but we want to look at the activism. They've been up to on what their i personally. The truth is somewhere in between leg. I think there's obviously you know it is weird that she's under this conservator ship when she's so capable but also the free brittany movement. Some of it is people going nuts on her instagram. Like all she posted a photo of a beach and that means she wants out. And it's like barrett. Send the free britney fans listening to this now. Want to murder me in my sleep. I want to back up a little bit truly for my own education and perhaps that of the was so shocked that you hadn't heard about this man only. Because i think of you like so tapped into internet culture and britney brittany but i want to define a conservative ship because i had not heard of this and my uneducated assumption was that this was for Children or your folks with for elderly generally elderly to it. And i was like wait. Is this for elderly folks who need to be managed and so she was not a under eighteen. When this happened it was it was done. Because the the family or her father or some powers that be Thought she was not capable of managing her fund. But who makes that decision court. An doesn't if she has illegal adult can't she just say fuck off no. You can't like how does this happen. And i don't know well. It's pretty confusing. I think but yeah. I think she can. She doesn't want it anymore but then it has to go to court and in the conservatory The part that's really kinda wild is she is mandated to pay for her father's lawyers so she threw the conservator ship so she had to pay the money a for her father to fight against her interests. It's kinda wild. I mean but going back. Yeah but i guess. I'm asking at some point in time. She as a legal adult said yes. I sign up for this clearly not knowing the ramovic or not fully forecasting the wrong at that time. Yeah i know. And i mean well. We'll ask our guests. I don't know that she has siblings. And i don't think they've really spoken up either. Been like she needs to get out of this. So i don't know and i think there's so much that we can't possibly know at the highest level to me. It sounds like her relationship with her family and her father and siblings is quite toxic. Well oops you did it again. I don't have that one good. That was good to hit us. One more time the Well we've so much to talk about other guests today but let's move to our trivia just to keep trivia and brittany trivia. I have. I have hundreds of brittany trivia questions ready to go hoping we would finally do an episode and here we are talking at attracts We're talking about one of the biggest stars ever ever in the history of popular music. Britney spears we all know and love britney's chart-topping hits when they come on the radio or of course your favorite streaming app in the twenty first century but brittany's music has also been used in some unconventional ways. I have three scenarios here where spears music is utilized by professionals completely outside the context of enjoying fund music or dancing etc. One of these is factual the other two i made up. Which of these britney use cases is real. A toxic is used by neurologists to stimulate the fallas inside the brain of coma patients. There's something about that. Riff that gets coma patients Kicking around that's choice a choice. B as you mentioned. Oops i did. It again. Was used to engineer and create the very first. Mp three file.

Think I'm really looking forward to to heck your thoughts on this specifically but it so the question would ask if somebody came to me and said Hey I. Think God is punishing me and this is why things are going wrong in my life. My I don't know how to address that without challenging what their beliefs are you. You are challenging a belief. You don't necessarily have to challenge every aspect of that belief. You can say, well, if God is punishing you I, mean, have you been? Faithful God of us since early reached out to find out what's going on. If you ask God and maybe you're not getting an answer.
