"How did anyone go from the hottest broadcaster four years ago to someone that the majority of the public can not stand to listen to anymore? I mean, I've never liked them and I have to agree he's getting worse. He's just so loud. By the way, respect to Matt Hayes who I like. Using the Utah excuse does not explain losing to Vanderbilt and being rolled over by I hear I'm not in Florida, obviously, but I hear a lot of spinning for a billion that I'm not sure is justified. So I have a request, Paul. For grip, obviously more news coming out of Georgia and now they're telling us that the car should not have been out after midnight, another stupid statement. And then you had the transfer player felony arrest. It may go away. We hope. And then can I say this and steal some of the legends thunder? Go ahead. Dallas put elf on the shelf. He was either drunker than a skunk or he was shooting for the movie 25 jump street. I don't know, but that was stetson's mistake. He should have, he should have never gone into the metroplex where it's possible that the cops were TCU graduates. Now the good point. So with all that and mister and misses Pruitt can't get a job, can you get Griff back on and put him under the spotlight? He loves to throw shade on everyone else, but let's put him on the spotlight. Well, say, hey, John, thanks. We're up against a break Fritz Mitchell will join us in a minute to tell us about this new series on southern basketball in the SEC, Fritz Mitchell joining us next. "But if you went before 36 in that, you practice say Yale are Princeton, right? I would think. I was literally there, it was in the early 80s and they had a publicity director, and one day Alabama started claiming 5 more national championships and they had the year before. And to his credit, he just came up with it, and it stuck. And all of a sudden, you start hearing fans go. We have Alabama has so many national championships right now. I've lost track. I mean, it used to be 8, 9, ten, 11, 12. Now it's a runaway train. So I mean, I think it's only, it's only an issue if you decide to go back and count those. But if you want to count one in the 30s and 40s and 50s, good for you. Yeah. All right, thank you, sir. Thank you. Great, great call. Appreciate it. Very, very much. Let's check in with autumn in Alabama. Hello, autumn. How much do file bob? How are you doing today? We are doing great. Thank you for calling. Yes, sir. I wanted to say I'm a freshman in college right now studying sports journalism. And my grandfather actually raised me on your show. He's like one of your biggest fans in the world, like every day he's watching your shows kind of fantastic. Yes, sir. But I just wanted to ask you, who do you think logistically has the best chance of winning the football championship this year? I think it's Georgia right now, according to Vegas, automa, we only have a couple of seconds left, but I don't want to let this opportunity go by. Ultimately, what would you like to do in the field? I would be great to be an analyst or even just a regular journalist honestly. Well, I was in auburn, are you an auburn you said? I've got a school like 45 minutes north of auburn at southern union. Okay. Well, listen, we always enjoy our conversations with young journalists. If there's anything we can ever do to help you here, please holler at us and we'd be happy to talk to you and offer some counsel. It's probably the favorite thing we do during the fall is meeting with young journalists. We're at a time for this segment.

"To podcasts. And we are back here. Wednesday afternoon, Wesley is in Georgia. Hello, Wesley. Good afternoon to you. Hey, Paul, how you doing? Just historians from House and county Warner Robins. I was waiting for the Tennessee game Tennessee game in November and I stopped on Mississippi state and auburn. Right. And Mike Lee immediately went forward on 4004th down and 8 and made it. And I was my question is as great of a coach as Mike leach was. Was he the first coach to come along and do the four and four time or was it going because underlying given does it too? Yeah, they both do it. I want you to ask kiffin I was critical of him and he corrected me. He said, he said, listen, when you're outmanned, you have to do something. So you have to take chances. And I think that was always Mike leeches philosophy too. He never had the best players at Texas tech or at Washington state or Mississippi so he figured he played the percentages. He did that against Alabama this year. He got off to a fast start, went for it. I think then he skewed the field goal and I've never been a fan of that, but if you can get your percentages of at least was more instinctive, I think kiffin is more analytical. He goes, he's got a chart, and he looks at it and if it's higher than a certain percentage, he will do it. This is blue my mind what he done. And made most of the four towns. Well, sometimes I'll never forget one of the biggest plays I've ever seen was, I believe it was the let me think what year was it. The 15 season, remember the national championship game between Alabama and Clemson and Alabama was just getting run over. They had a big lead. They blew it and Nick Saban scored a touchdown, I think, to tie it, think to tie it or and he went for an onside kick in the second half and they pulled it off and it was the most shocking thing I've ever seen and then they scored and literally blew Clemson out, I mean, it was a closer game than that because Clemson came back late with a couple of touchdowns, but it was the biggest moment of the year. And you rarely see someone like Sabin with the better players, but he felt like if we don't if we don't do something to turn this game around, we will have no chance. Thank you for the call. Do appreciate it very much, Catherine, is in Louisiana. Hello, Catherine. Hi, Paul. How are you today? We are doing great. Thank you. Well, I'm a first time caller. My husband washed every day. He died, but now I watch you every day, and I really enjoy your show. Thank you. But my question is, what is your opinion on why Drew Brees is helping Purdue against LSU? Do you think it's because he was in a great commentator that he wants to get back into coaching? That's my question. Catherine, it's a good question. I'm sorry to hear about your husband. Let me offer this without knowing exactly what went into the process they got the coach left to go to Louisville, so I think they just leaned on Drew Brees because he's one of the most famous alums in the school's history. I don't think he is going into coaching. I think he just did this to do it. To help out of school and get a little notoriety. I don't think it really has not been successful as a commentator. You are correct about that. I just think he did it because they asked him to. Okay, Paul. Thank you so much. And have a great new year. You have a happy new year. Catherine, thank you for calling. We appreciate it. Tim is in Ohio. Hello, Tim. Hey, Paul. First time caller. Love the show. Thank you. Yeah, I just had a question. I know your historian. What is your opinion? Do you just count championships from like the AP poll era? Well, I think that is the conventional approach that most people do now, you can pick and choose anything you want because until the AP started handing out national championships, they were, they were at times 5 to ten to 12 different entities that handed out a national championship. So most people in the industry count AP championships. Yeah, that's a little ridiculous. If you go farther back, my other question would be do you think someday that the playoff will be almost like how they count super bowls now where they don't really consider the old NFL championships. They always talk about super bowls only. You think it might lead to that someday? Well, Tim, I think we talk about arrows. Every time there's a new iteration, so now we talk about Kirby smart making his third CFP appearance. It's really the only measuring stick. It used to be, if you go back to the BCS era, you either played in the BCS championship, or you would talk about, hey, this is so and so's 8th New Year's Day appearance. But now there's no such thing as a New Year's Day appearance. I mean, I have no idea. The orange bowl is on Friday night on the 30th. The sugar bowl is on the 31st. Now I'm well aware that this year is a little bit different because of new year's being on a Sunday. But even in the past, you've had, you've had bowl games. There used to be the big four ball games. You remember which ones they were. And then, I mean, there was a time, if you go back 40 years ago, they were just, I mean, the gator bowl, which I don't even know, Wednesday, or Monday. The gator bowl was like considered the next best bowl game other than the big four. And then so the scale keeps changing is what I should have answered you two minutes ago. Yeah. Yeah, because I know Alabama tends to count championships. You know what I mean?

"At the university of Tennessee in 1990, my first introduction to the Tennessee Alabama series was that year when ironically enough, Tennessee was ranked number three in the country. Had championship aspirations and Alabama came in and upset Tennessee. Interestingly, the year before that was the last time that both Tennessee and Alabama played when both were undefeated in both in the top ten. There has been a lot of great games in dealing stadium over the years, of course. A lot of them involving Tennessee and Florida and other ranked teams, but Paul, I think this coming game on Saturday is the biggest in the stadium's history and I'll tell you why. There have only been three occurrences where Tennessee and Alabama have played where both were undefeated at the time of their meeting and both in the top ten. It's only happened one time when it happened to Knoxville. That was way back in 1946. It was called Neil and stadium back then it was shields Watkins field, general Neil and was just coming back from the war. So this game has all the makings of a tremendous game. I'm obviously going to be really hard for my Alma mater. I think they have a great shot this year and certainly looking forward to the game. Thank you very much, Mark. I did not realize that 46 note, thank you very much. Randy is in Memphis. Now you do it, miss found, bob. We are doing well. Thank you. four things for you. This can be real quick. Number one, my wife loves you to the moon and back. I'm from mister Tennessee. Well, thank you. That makes me makes me happy on many levels. In fact, that you guys are in Memphis, even more so. Well, she makes fun of me. She said, Carl car. So I try to call, I can't get in. I can't get in. I can't get in. And she's a school teacher. She can't hear this conversation right now. I said, and I'm a college student. I get through the top of you. I can't believe it. I got it. Number two, Arkansas fan. That's okay. Number three, I think the SEC west is going to be between mister state and omis and number four for all your listeners. Take that 7.5 points and go with Tennessee and they're just going out right. Now, I have to say something, Randy, being the spouse of a school teacher, this has been this has been a textbook call. You gave you gave the preamble. You put your body and then you wrapped it up. I love the one, two, three, four. We're going to start insisting on callers now to do the exact same thing. The Randy method. That's where he's not love you so much. Thank you for getting a great shot. I mean, that was an organized you knew. I got four things to say. One, two, three, four. There was no can you hear me? Am I on? Rack Randy. We are heading to the break. We have a lot of guests dropping by. Matt Hayes will join us in a moment. Talk show host and Jacksonville from also a columnist for Saturday, down south. "And we have a lot to do. And why don't we get going on it before I forget what day it is again. How about those two stats that are killing Alabama? What are they? Turnover margin in penalties. What is going on with the tide? Yeah, not the best time to be facing Tennessee. According to John Adams, not the president, the sports columnist. Tennessee football looks like it's being coached better than Alabama. Is that can you say that? Is that not blasphemous? Well, ask John about that. Meanwhile, the most dominant team looks like the buckeyes from Ohio State. What is going on with them? They are playing well. They are now the betting favored according to Caesar's to win it all. And how many times has this changed? And how many more times will it change? Will Rogers continues to dominate at Mississippi state? He's running out of records to break, so he's breaking some records that were made in the 50s. He's about to pass dac and that when you pass dak and mister V state, you are making a statement. So that's where we are here on a Tuesday. Thanks for being here. Let's tell you what else we're going to be doing here today. Matt Hayes, Aaron suttles from the athletic extraordinary piece on how malmo landed Nick Saban mcelroy and met stinchcombe. And your phone calls at 8 5 5 two four two 7 two 8 5. Let's get to some phone calls. And check in with Andre, who is up next. Good afternoon, Andre. Thanks for taking my call. Coach. Thank you, Matt. Thank you, Andre. First of all, let me get this out there to define bomb nation. I'm an LSU fan. But hey, we'll run this can break all the records. He won a break. That doesn't count in the SEC. If you're not going to win the SEC and ask the championship, he can break all the records. He want to break you and I know it don't mean to heal a beans coach. If you can't climb that mountain, we call the SEC. Then it doesn't mean nothing. If he ain't Tennessee and Alabama and Georgia, the rest of it don't mean nothing. The man said, you're in first and you laugh. And that's just the way it is. But look, what you think about LSU, man. We heard we got a receive over there that think he's better than what he is. We got an average offensive line. An average defense is lying about the only thing we got to doubt spending old out of defensive back. The quarterback, he's scared to vote about 35 40 yards down the field. He holds onto the ball too long. He takes set, man, we are messed down here in Baton Rouge. But hey coach that protect my calling on this to your comments off the air. Thank you very, very much, Andre. It's always a pleasure to speak to you. And let's check in with John in Indiana. Hello, John. How's it going, Paul? It is going great. Thank you. Hey, Paul. I got a couple of coaches. I want to talk about real quick. This first coach, he's flamboyant, controversial, but he wins it seems like every year ten games his teams always in the top ten. He's got to be a good coach. What do you think of Mike Gundy from Oklahoma state? You know, it's interesting. Mike Gundy had an opportunity to come to the SEC a couple of years ago. I think I'm pretty sure he was offered the Tennessee job at one point. And he's been offered a bunch of jobs and I don't know why he has decided to stay out in Oakland, but he has. And he's been successful. But it seems like every time Mike Gundy has a chance to break through and really do something significant. He comes up this short. Remember last year on the goal line in the, in the big 12 championship game. I don't know what it is. I'm not saying he isn't a good coach. He's uncharacteristic. He's different. And he always has a good team, but he always manages to come up short when it really matters. Okay. Thank you for the call. I'm Ann is up next. Good afternoon. Good afternoon, Paul. I'd like to take my call. That was a long okay at the end of that phone call. I think he was looking for more affirmation of Mike Gundy. Well, I'm not going to give it to him. Yeah, and he almost had a defeated sound in him. Like he missed the spelling word. Okay. You know, like when your mama scored, do you like? Like, Jim, you say when his mama take that switch and where his ass out in the front yard. Plenty of everybody. Paul, I heard a rumor today and I don't know if it's true or not, but I think it's one of the funniest that was not me. You said Jim has a goat. That wasn't me with the blond last night. You think you saw? You said last week or so ago that Jim has a goat, when you take you go pick Jim up and take him out on a Sunday afternoon drive. Is that one of them make everybody feel good, happy Susan kind of animals like dogs, the goat when you go pick Jim up.

"Let me ask you a question. They ask the great Jeremy shocking. They say you're from Oklahoma. How did you end up down in Miami? You said, man, he said, you know where he went to recruiting Tripp in January, and it was freezing in the Midwest. And he went down to Miami and girl, we're going to class in bikini. So now, if you got a choice in the NIL are the same, are you going to go to the sunny south? Are you going to go up there to Nebraska? Now you make the choice, Peter burns. It's easy. Thank you for the phone call, buddy. And you're right. You are dead on right. That conversation before NIL was easy. Why the hell would I want to go play in Lincoln, Nebraska? I mean, these kids are 18, 19 years old. Do they even know who Eric crouch was? Do they know who Tommy Frazier was and how great he was. Lawrence Phillips when he was rolling and not in trouble, how great those team were, the great Tom Osborne, they don't know. They don't care, but with name image and likeness, perhaps they do. Perhaps they say, you know what? I'd much rather go down to the south and play a Georgia or Florida or LSU or a and M or bam or auburn. All these other schools because man, it's great, it's football. It's the best fans, all of it. But then again, if name image and likeness, I got an opportunity to do something in a state of Nebraska. I might be more willing to stay at least for year one until I transfer out. So there is an opportunity for those programs that have a lot of tradition to get back into that college football conversation in which they're not right now. Gabe is in San Antonio, Gabe, you got 60 seconds for me, man. What's up at the two ten? Hey Peter, what's going on? I was up in Austin yesterday and heard the radio guys discussing a possible schedule scenario for SEC where every team would play their top two or three rivals every year and then you play every single team, home and home in a span of four years. It's a pretty cool scenario. It looks like it would work. My question to you is, do you think the people that make the schedule are they going to put an emphasis on keeping the rivalries played every single year or are they going to be good with just every two or three years? That was my first question. And off topic I heard another guy talk about he posed a question if Quinn yours wins back to back the next two big 12 championships before we go to SEC and they go to the playoffs maybe one or both years. What happens to arch matting situation then? Well, Gabe real quick because we got to go. What I do believe and I don't know this on insight information on the outside looking in, if I march Manning, I'm in no rush to play, right? You take your time, you read shirt, you don't play a whole heck of a lot. As far as rivalries, if it's one year or two years, it works out good. Writer cups every two years and we love that, right? Brett mcmurphy joins us next. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast. The Paul fine bomb show airs weekdays on the SEC network beginning at three eastern.

"All day long, the SEC is more competitive conference than the Big Ten could ever imagine being. And even with UCLA and USC. I think Texas and Oklahoma bring absolutely more competition level to the group of the SEC and let's look at the top 25 races right now where we've got 8 or 9 SEC teams and in the problem is year in year in year out, this is ranked early because that's what the voters think of the teams. Is that correct? That's fair and it comes to recruiting rankings. And it comes to the last 20 times, yes. And then all these teams start playing each other so there's another 13 team knocks out number 15 team while the Big Ten sitting there with one or two teams in the top ten and a few scattered out randomly here and there after and the Big Ten kind of creeps up about middle of the season towards the end of the season by attrition because the SEC is beating each other up. And you know, if the Big Ten is all of this, why don't they challenge the SEC to a game every year regular season? The ones in the ones twos and the twos and listen if you can figure out a bowl game in four or 5 weeks and make all those preparations, you can figure out who the ones are in the twos are and you can negotiate that game for the third or fourth week of the season. Is that a fair statement? Yeah, I'm in. But I also look at it going, why, I mean, listen, if they're the cream of the crop, what we got a chance to see that, right? What happened when Michigan went and played football this year against Georgia? I mean, evidently, that was their, you know, that was the second best team according to the college football playoff, right? The team behind the Big Ten. That was their playoff contender in Georgia. It was like, shoe away, JV squad. But the big team, like I said, the Big Ten can add what they want to. But all day long, I can watch Florida LSU Mississippi, state Arkansas. I can watch all these teams play each other. I can't watch Illinois, northwestern, Arizona, Arizona state, Sanford, give me some more of those Big Ten teams. I can only watch a few. You know, it's even hard to watch Penn State and Texas play. Because I don't know, they just don't bring nothing to the table for me, honest. But I can't watch your house, they have always liked USC, but you know what? USC sucks since lying cheating because Pete take care left and took a Reggie bush's Kardashian husband trophy with him. Peter Bernstein murders Peter burns, have a great day. Never a dull moment when I'm in calls. Listen, it's a fun, conference because guess what? When it comes down to dollars and since the Big Ten is right there with the SEC. In fact, their television deal is probably going to be a little bit bigger because they're the first to market. But what has it got them? I asked that question, not being facetious or trying to make a point. I'll just look at this and go, what have you got with all that money? You've gotten one team. That's one a title in the last 24 seasons, okay? That's Ohio State. So where does that money go? In fact, you can argue that the ACC who is miles behind the Big Ten when it comes to revenue, they've at least had two national championship winners in that same time frame. So that makes them about four or 5 times more impressive with the ACC has done as far as winning a title than the Big Ten. 8 5 5 two four two Paul is the phone number board, your phone calls coming up next, hit me up on Twitter at Peter burns ESPN. It's a Paul fine bomb show. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. All right, always having some fun when Bram 6 over Paul find bombs account for just a little bit and says, what's the one new feature you absolutely need to see with the NCAA football video game relaunches next year. Matt Brown extra points has been great giving us info about that. Lance says, how about an expanded football playoff? If we can't get this in a real life, at least give us this in a video game. I think when you start a season, you should decide how big is your playoff, you decide that. Every player has a happiness meter, this comes from Arthur, depending on its recruiting raking, entry expectation, current level of play and style, have to manage the roster to keep players happy and on the roster, keep the coach promises to manage recruiting and expectations. The transporter will be absolutely that's going to be a part of the new video game. And a one more tweet, John Hayes, how about fine bomb mode is when the angry fan audio plays instead of the music you lose. Paul? How about John Hayes? Love my man. Always a good member here of the former fine bomb family doing great work over the athletic. Peter burns here sitting in for mister Paul fine bomb a couple more of your phone calls here this hour. Andre is in Atlanta. What's up Andre? Good to talk to you again. Where are you from? Are you from port Allen? Where are you from over across that room? Across the river? Yeah, I used to go to the river Queen growing up. So yeah, my parents went to port Al and high. They were pelicans. I went to holy family. So yeah, I'm from port ala Louisiana. I'm a friend. I used to live in denim. But look, man, you know what? You were talking like you had good sanity, but Nebraska and to the conversation. Nobody, nobody takes the brass because seriously. You know, this is big boy ball. Nebraska is something from the 80s and the early 90s. But nobody's texting Nebraska serious. This thing is about recruiting and talent. Now the brick ticket and whoever they want, they can get as many eyes on the television that they want, but that ain't gonna change the line of scrimmage. The SEC of the line of scrimmage league. If you don't believe me, go look at the NFL. There are more players on the defensive line from the interferon than any other cough. And it's not even close. And then it's following up by the ACC. So they can add as many media markets that they want. That's not gonna change what happened between the hash mark. So for free, man, don't put Nebraska in there. Not as a serious conversation for college football. So it just knows what. The reason why I bring them up is the first thing I look for is what passionate fan bases are going to get behind NIL, whether it's collective or whatever's allowed in those states, right? Because listen, when a Miami football is good, it's good for the sport of college football. When USC is good, it's good for the sport of football. I'd love Nebraska to be good. But here's the one thing too, Andre, Nebraska is a very good case study of what happens when you take the money to go to a conference, right? Nebraska had a they had a lot of success in the big 12 and when they rolled and took that check for the Big Ten, what has happened?

"FBS conferences. It's a big difference when you're taking that big of a step up. Not only in the competition on the field, but recruiting. And I like what he's done. I like how he's organized things in Florida. I like how he's changed the way they do things there, but at the end of the day, it's going to be what kind of a quarterback coach is and what kind of a play caller. And that's what he said in day one. I'm calling the plays. I'm coaching the quarterbacks. So it's going to be very interesting to see how he works with Anthony Richardson. And if he gets that talent out of anti rich and other quarterbacks in that roster and as far as I mean, Paul, they try to fire him earlier this year. Couldn't do it. I would think if Brian Harrison doesn't win 9 games either not games, they're going to fire him because let's face it. Urban Meyer is out there. He's out there and auburn might be one of two programs in all of college football that could hire admire because they just don't care what anyone thinks is pretty much all in Texas. They don't care what anyone thinks. And I would think that arm would go after him if they did, if they did fire Brian harz. Man, I've known you too long just to jump up and down and scream fire. But are you serious? Urban Meyer at auburn, Paul. I mean, if you think auburn won't take a shot at him, let's just say auburn struggles again and they go 5 and 7. You know hard as well for better than anyone, Paul. There you go, 5 and 7. They fall not only further behind Nick in the Goliath that is Alabama football but they're behind. Texas a and M, they're behind LSU, Paul, they're behind old myths, Mississippi state, Arkansas. They're at the bottom at the bottom. There's no other place to go. I mean, they hired Bruce pearl, who got the two schools prior to him coming there on probation. Then got auburn on probation. So of course they'll hire urban Meyer. I don't know why that's even a question right now. Of course they will take a shot at him. I don't know. And I'm talking to a guy that covered him in Jacksonville. So, search your soul. You know I'm right. You know, I know you want to say it right now, but you just don't want to say it. Of course I'm right. It's just hard for me and everything you've said. I mean, yeah, I've covered auburn for 40 years. You don't need to give me this. Arkansas, LSW behind everyone ball everyone. You don't think they're going to panic at that point? You know those guys there. You know those big cat boosters there. I can see urban Meyer, Jimmy rain and those yellowwood commercials, can't you? Yes. Oh my goodness. You know, sometimes Matt, you just go into an interview as you do this every day and you know what the headline is going to be. Matt Hayes says Kirby's I didn't think that one of the publications that you write for Saturday down south was going to come here and take the last question and make the most out of it. But you have dropped a bombshell on us. I appreciate it as always. Matt, thank you so much. All right, Paul, my pleasure. Wow. Matt Hayes, you heard him right here. I don't need this. I don't need to tell you what he said. Urban Meyer to auburn. Just when you think you've had an you've seen that guy for the last time, he shows up at Aubrey. Can you imagine Nick Saban going, I got to walk across the field and I mean it's bad enough I got Jimbo over here. Now I've got to deal with urban again. Oh my goodness. It has to end one of these days. Let's take a break. We'll figure that one out in.

"The pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul finebaum show hour three podcast. And we welcome you back. Check in half the show live and let's check in with Ryan. Who is in Cincinnati. Hello Ryan. I also go on grim Reaper. Just grimmen and reaping. Yeah, that's what Mike Griffin will do to you. I mean, jeez, I had to go take a bunch of tile and all after that. My head is still hurting. You know what would have fixed that for me? That headache? Is it for old friend from back in the glory days Shane from center point was a live psychological Shane go through him faster than Germany went through France or two. I'm not laughing at him. I mean, literally tickle in my throat. Literally, I mean, I swear, I start to believe that maybe Griffin goes home at night, sits on his couch and between his Kirby smart and Steve spurrier blow up dolls in his hand and imagine conversations with him if I didn't know any better. Yeah, I have to tell you, I'm worried about Griffin. I mean, I get the love for Kirby. I mean, that's part of the job. But this thing was spurrier, can you explain it? Ryan, I mean, what's all that? Earlier, Georgia. I mean, spurrier in the 90s owned Georgia but like you said, he has a coach of game and how many years, 7 years, except for that was it that week he was in? Yeah, that doesn't really count. No, it doesn't. I mean, leagues exactly go up in the middle of the season, really don't count on your one loss record, do they? No, they shouldn't. Although I will say this, I was inspired office about two years ago, and he's got a game ball from one of his last win was. Against one of those no name school to excuse me, teams, not schools. Well, what I miss about spurriers is wisecracks. I think the classic one is when he said the west Georgia water boys school library caught on fire missed the book. So I haven't been colo did. I mean, I mean, if I am one of the biggest spur your fans in the world, but Griff almost turns me against him. I don't know how you feel, but Griff makes it hard to root for anybody that he likes. Well, maybe Griff needs to go see a plastic surgeon. If I'm redesigning my new face, one does have a mouth on it at this point. And quite frankly, considering that everyone is a fan of Tony vitello, he's done the best coaching job in America. Did we need Griff? To give a lifetime achievement award to the Tennessee baseball coach today? No. Not at all. We just need a Griffin. Oh, man, that guy's lost his mind, Paul. I'm glad he's straightening him out. I mean, you're throwing haymakers at him. He needed it. I mean, it's your fastball. He's your best stuff on the first call on the first guest of the day. I mean, we were at three 15 and I felt like I just finished the Boston Marathon. I mean, yeah, and you were like Maureen over Vera turn cut fastballs under his chin and watching a broken bat. I'm more of a jazz artist, start slow, build up, I mean, Griff had me like, I mean, you're not supposed to, I felt like I was in a UFC title title fight. I mean, the guy comes at me with a karate chop and what was I supposed to do? Yeah, I mean, the guy's Danny canal part two. Like I told you he's just like Danny canal. I think he's the last his mind. Without the annoying accent. Yeah. The annoying and condescending out accent. Let me put it that way. Yeah. No, lord. I don't know how you do it. I hope we kicking in. I know I should probably know that. Is Danny kanell still alive? Imagine he's obsessing with Alabama doing anything you can to try to get him on probation. Yeah. He's still obsessed with him. Good luck. I'll gladly put him in his place. You remember that gem? How's Danny's FSU seminoles doing these days? Probably again, close to shutting down the program. You might as well. I mean, they insulted Bobby bowden this year with a terrible season. I mean, I mean, that's embarrassing what they've done down there. Because I love Bobby Brown. I love Charlie awards. We had Matt, what's his name? Mike norville on. He promised to turn around though. We shall see. I mean, I do get down there. Ryan, when you can't have a winning record in the ACC, what does that say about you? Your program's destroyed right now. I mean, Paul, me and you remember how great they were in the 90s and how intense those rivalries were with them in Florida. FSU owned the SEC for quite a long time. I mean, how embarrassing is this? Mike norvell lost, I realized he wasn't at the game, but basically lost he Dan Mullins played in his final game. Then should have stuck around one more week. He could have gotten out with a win over FAU that usually was enough to save somebody's job, not always. But usually. Michael is in North Carolina. Hello, Michael. Hey, Paul, longtime listener, 12th Tom caller. Thank you very wonderful. You have a great balance between moronic humor and detailed and insightful analysis of all things college football certainly. But perhaps your greatest bull run may be even attained the title of legend as exemplified once again today by his analysis to Nick Saban being only a teacher. I think what he fails to recognize is that Nick Saban's greatest talent, perhaps, is his ability to learn. And I think he learned a lot of offense from lane kiffin. He certainly learned some defense from Kirby smart. And he became the goat. But it isn't all about what Nick Saban taught. It's a lot more about what Nick Saban learned. So anyway, I just had to call in and take another shot at legend because I just think he's a massively underrated when it comes to Morocco. Thank you, Paul. Thank you very much. And it's really good to hear from you. Drove us up next to hello drove. Hey, Paul, I want to go back to Texas where the feces and the syringes on our rise and talk about Jimbo Fisher, you know, he hasn't done anything, but got in a big check, Paul. He's been at 8 a.m. for about four or 5 years now and hadn't even gone to championship. He's not even picked to win the west, Paul. I mean, this guy's doing nothing. Well, I wouldn't say he's doing nothing, drew. He finished fourth in the country two years ago. He beat Alabama this year. He's had the best recruiting class, perhaps in the history of the game. And they probably are going to build another sports complex or something, just because you beat Alabama, but Paul, you know, he's just got four or 5 years, you know, Mullins, what he was at Florida for that moment, you know, he went to the SEC championship. This Jimbo he's just, you know, he has his own never could recruit. I mean, Jimbo has been an awesome recruiter. And I think when you land the biggest class of the year, it's worth waiting to see how that pans out. It normally portends.

And y'all can hug and crown each other's shoulders 'cause most of y'all are just nothing but square handed loser. How can all that matter? We get sick and tired of hearing from your crap. And guess what? The dogs are back, get over it. And live quit ruining my life. Go dog in the hill with the rest of your baby. Paul, I'm out. Thank you. Moe is up next in Missouri. Hello. Hey, Mark. Fine, bomb, good afternoon. Good afternoon. I just wanted to say some comments on the coaches. You know, Texas a and M and Texas and Oklahoma, Georgia. They all got good coaches. But there's this NAR money coming in. And just to give you a little taxes has got a 40 $1 billion endowment. A and M's 14 billion, Alabama's about a billion, so money's not going to be any problem and Texas produces about 56 blue chips a year at Alabama about 14. I'm telling you there's going to be some new buildings coming on the block and they might as well get ready because it's going to get tougher. Hey, thank you very, very much. Shannon is up next. How are you Shannon? I'm good, Paul. Hey, listen, I heard the interview are enjoyed it. I heard you talk about how Kirby again a great job in recruiting and development. I want to talk about that development features thinking like football. Last year, Alabama's most potent weapon on offense was James and Williams, correct? Correct. Yes, where was he from, Paul? Transferred in from Ohio State, right? Correct. And when he went down, the players that Saban's staff had recruited and developed, they didn't step up and produce, did they? They did not. They did not. Now, let's go into this season, Paul. They've already picked up a receiver from Georgia, Jermaine Burton, who I understand had a great spring out there and looks phenomenal. A receiver from Louisville, who is supposed to step in and be a playmaker and a running back from Georgia Tech. If they're doing such a great job recruiting and developing players at Alabama, how come they're having to go the portal to pick up all their playmakers, Paul. We're Shannon, the reason is simple. That a lot of these guys do not work out. And when they leave, you have to find replacements. And by the way, Alabama also picked up a lineman from Vanderbilt. Another Lyman who went into the portal to come back. So what does that tell you? Well, it tells me Paul is there may be a development problem in Alabama. That's what it tells me. You know, Kirby went to that game in the national championship game with a walk on quarterback, a two star receiver in two freshmen that scored touchdowns for Georgia. AD Mitchell brought Bowers. Alabama went to the game with James Williamson who went down who wasn't even from their program with spending it there. And then the kids that they developed didn't step up. And now they're out scrambling to grab some more out of the portal. Just because you don't like to hear the truth, Paul. Does that mean that it is the truth? And the truth is, what Matt Hayes said, he's on point, bro the ends coming, and no matter how hard it hurts, then the fans, no matter how much it seems, saving is losing that potency, it's going away and it's going to happen sooner rather than later. Thank you. Appreciate it. Joseph is in Savannah, Joseph good afternoon. Go ahead. I'm a long time listener. Since I was about 16 years old, Paul, I've got to say is to be the man. You gotta beat the man that we beat the man. And right now we're in The Rain, national champions. So Alabama, they can go on about it, and where are the champs right now? Well, congratulations. I mean, I think we all know that. I think the question is, what happens? And I think Matt Hayes gave an opinion that it's not far fetched if you want to live in the moment. Yes, Kirby smart probably did has to get credit, but I also, it's not like Saban didn't do a good job. Saving probably did one of his better coaching jobs to get Alabama to that point. I'm still not sure how they got to the national championship game. Let's just hope we keep developing, development as the key, and we don't need to live off the transfer portal. Let's develop our talent. Continue to develop Joseph, you have to, you have to have a great coaching staff. You will have turnover in Kirby now is dealing with that for the first time in a while with Dan landing leaving Sabin is dealing with less turnover than usual. It's a rarity when Sabin retains the same coordinators for two seasons in a row. We are up against a break. We have a lot to do. We've had Matt hazen, who said Kirby smart was a better coach than Saban in case you were wondering why all this shrapnel is flying early on a Tuesday afternoon. We're coming right back. Thank you for listening to the Paul fine bomb show podcast, the Paul finebaum show airs weekdays on the SEC network beginning at three eastern..

"Local agent today. Welcome back. Good conversation with Matt Hayes. Legend is next. Here I come with my steel chair, again. This one I think these demons are under control. You bring them more on like Matt Hayes on here. Who looks like James spann on crack by the way and his picture talking about Kirby smart is greater than Nick Saban at this moment. I mean, I never heard nothing so stupid and all my frigging life. I'm so sick of these media gutter turds. Coming on your show and acting like they're a damn expert. We are mere seconds into the call with legend. And we're having some weather problems, but I don't think it was our fault. We'll get back to him eventually. Tom is up next in Tennessee. Hello Tom. Hey, Paul, how are you today? Tom. Yes, thank you for calling. Thank you. You know, it seems like you're a lot of your collars are concerned about Nick Saban's aid. Do you know what to say? Age is just a number. They don't care. How old he is. He's going to go on, you know, I say he'll coach another 5 to 7 years. And then maybe hanging up. But unless his health, something goes wrong there, you know, he's got it made down there. What do you think? You know, I don't know the answer to that. Because I think it's a little bit as long as things are going well. I have no doubt that you are correct, but the second, and I mean the second things look like they're not going well, the pressure is going to metastasize. So I think until that moment happens, we really can't answer it. I know the easy. The convenient response is exactly what you just got through saying. You're likely to be right. Thank you very, very much for the call. It's a continued more phone calls here. At 8 5 5 two four two 7 two 8 5. I think we have a legend back. Okay, legend. Let's act like this is your first call. We didn't hear you earlier. We lost a call. Legend is next. These gutter turds that keep calling yourself acting like an expert. Calcium is demons that come up out of me, Paul. I am legion. I mean, they keep coming up out of these idiots. I mean, the moment I heard that idiot on the telephone, my middle finger got an erection..

"First round guys going on both sides of the ball. If he can get the quarterback situation figured out, okay? And again, he's got a couple young guys that are very talented and he still has Stefan Bennett there. If he gets on a roll a quarterback like Nick has gotten on a roll at quarterback, you know, then there's no reason for him to stay up there up top. Talking to Matt Hayes, who, as you know, by now in this conversation, has stated that Kirby smart is the best coach. And that concludes Nick Saban. By the way, Matt, it really doesn't matter. You're entitled to your opinion. I don't want you to think that I'm trying to deny that right. I'm just trying to better understand it because I know this audience. We've been friends for years. I'm not offended. Okay. Here's what I want to get your comments on this, and I realize this is not coming from you. But in the article, you quote an SEC coach. You can tell us exactly however much or little you want to about that coach. But you quote the person saying he put that flag in the ground last year. You better believe Nick Saban is concerned. Can you give us a more backstory on what that person told you? I think that the flag in the ground, okay? And I thought the cover coach was about to is the idea that yes, Kirby has now gone over that obstacle of Kirby can't win the big game. He blew ten point leads to Alabama twice and huge games. One last championship game one in the SEC championship game. And the idea that he got over that hump, Nick knows what Kirby as he knows what kind of coach he is. He knows what kind of recruiter he is. It was always a matter of when will it all come together? And when will they get over that mental hump? And you know, I think all coaches go through that. And right now, Kirby got over that hump. And that's the flag in the middle of the field of Jess. We won the national championship. Not only that, we're gonna build off that as far as can change the recruit well. And now the idea is, okay, now you've got that in your head that yes, we can do this and let's continue to move forward. And the part about Nick Saban being concerned, Sabin has never takes anything for granted. He's got Jimbo Fisher out west recruiting. He's got Kirby smart and others. But detail a little bit more about his level of concern about what happened, Jimbo and Kirby smart have beaten him now. He's no longer invincible against former assistants. And this obviously calls for some speculation and conjecture, but take us inside that mind as best you can. What do you think he's most concerned about? Paul, I don't think there's any question that it's not just Kirby. I mean, if you see what Jimmy Fisher did, 8, 5 star guys at Texas a and M, he knows technically him got to Alabama last year. I think if you see Brian Kelly, a guy who recruited well at Notre-Dame with those restrictions, now going to LSU. I think that's a concern. Heck, I think Billy navey here at Florida is a concern. Consider what he's building there as far as the support staff and the money Florida is now spending for recruiting for support. If I'm Nick, I'm concerned about all of it actually. It's not just Kirby. I think there's multiple levels of concern. He's been challenged many, many times, you know, you've covered it. Do you think it's the fact that he's 70, which makes it more concerning today? No, no, not at all. I don't think age is anything to do with Paul. He's a phenomenal coach and I don't see him like everybody keeps asking, where is he going to retire? And I keep saying, whenever he wants, he could coach for another 5, 6 years. I don't think age has anything to do with. I think it's the NIL, okay? The NIL has changed everything, Paul, because now you can be a school and you can literally pay people to come play for you. And it's no longer the draw the Alabama have had as, okay, you come here. Not only are we going to get you ready for the NFL better than anybody else, but you're going to win all the time. Now if you're somewhere else and I'm not saying Georgia, I'm not saying LSU is anyone at this point, okay? We're going to pay you X amount of dollars and you can come here and play. So now it becomes even more incumbent upon the coaches to massage those personalities. Now, Nick has done it forever. He's massaged all the four and 5 star recruits that he stacked up behind each other and they've convinced this guy not to play and that guy you're going to get your turn and this guy may get his turn. He's convinced all those guys to stay. Now with the NIL here, it's a lot harder to convince guys to stay. It's a lot easier for other schools to get those elite crews into school. And Matt, with all this combined, as you try to look at the landscape of college football, there are new pressures. I agree with you completely. I think everyone does who is reasonable. But who's to say Nick Saban can't navigate this as he is navigated every other threat since he arrived at Alabama in January of 2007. There's let me just say this first. There's no doubt in my mind you will navigate it. That's not even a question. All I'm saying is I in the east division right now, he's going to do the same thing. I actually think we're set up for as long as Nick wants to coach for just some Epic Games. We talked about the bow versus 40 ten year war that will have state in Michigan. The Alabama Georgia games over the next three, four, 5, 6 hour long, Nick decides to stay, could just be absolute monster games. Considering all the things you've said though, and I know how you scoffed at the age, but the combination of all that, and let's say he doesn't win a title this year. Let's say it goes on for a year or two. He's going to be the prohibitive favor. You're telling me in all the older coaches you've watched in college football that this is going to be different than fans are going to be sitting on their hands and cutting that's okay if Alabama doesn't win or loses a couple of games that they're not supposed to. Paul, he's got so much capital number one..

"I mean, you can't make this stuff up. The Ben gay joke was really, it was off color. Question on Las Vegas. I'm telling my brother to go see your show, so to speak, are you going to set up camp somewhere there? No. Yeah, we are. And I know a lot of times we do this, but I don't think we had the security means to handle this event. Because there really are going to be too many people. And there are, listen, there will be shows that are done outside, but the security will be there for that. And we are doing it inside at a studio. Oh, okay, got you. And what are you looking for like players or college coaches or NFL coaches to interview? The ESPN's got the draft cover. They don't need our help. What we're going to mainly concentrate on are things that interest our audience. We have a couple of head coaches lined up that are going to be out there, big names. I mean, guys that talked about occasionally here. Not on the normal basis. We'll talk to a couple of draft analysts as I'm sure you've come to expect. And beyond that, I think we have a couple of strippers coming by. Well, one problem is I'm hearing that it's just you and Mark and the rest of your team is pretty upset. They're not going with you. Well, they're upset they're not going with me. The distance between the staff and Mark right now is pretty wide. Because it was, he decided arbitrarily that he was going. And I can't say any more, John, but in about a week or two, you're going to shake your head and go. He did what? Yeah, we can not reveal why the decision is so controversial here within the current fine bomb staff. You can probably begin to put the pieces together. Yeah. Look forward to it. Hey, thank you very much. We are going to be out there Thursday and Friday. We'll just depends. We're taking a bus. "Pride passion and pageantry of college football lives here. This is the Paul fine bomb show hour one pie. Hey, welcome. We have reached Tuesday. Not that that's a bigger compliment, but we just wanted to make sure you understood that. Welcome to the program, lots of do today. We are jam packed with news and information and a question about who the best coach in college football is. You'll be surprised at one of our guests answer. Yes, you will be very surprised, but you'll be here in a few minutes to justify it. Let's get going with some headlines. Oh yeah. Kirby smart. Is the best coaching college football? All of you who believe that raise your hand. Hands, hands, hands. Oh yeah, you met Hayes, so we'll talk to him in a couple of minutes. What about the portal? We have some data. Only 50 only 54% of FBS players who entered the portal are enrolled at a new school. So what happened to that was just like the Bermuda Triangle? What happens? Yeah. The portal should be a sign enter beware. There's a lot of times you are never, ever heard from a gain or again. Final headline Cecil hurt being honored by a student endowment fund at the university of Alabama school of communication and information. This is a lot of people have done a lot of hard work. Namely, Chad mies, who was one of Cecil's closest friends, worked diligently to make this happen then through friends at the university. Through professor Andrew billingsley and the dean Mark Nelson has finally been announced and we'll keep you updated, but certainly an amazing honor for one of the greatest people that we've ever known on this program. And the most influential person to ever cover the university of Alabama. Let's get to the guests on the program. Matt Hayes, yeah. We've taken enough shots at Matt. We'll let him come on here and respond. An amazing woman, both as an athlete, and as a leader, Donna will piano, president and CEO of the Drake group. Mike cannonball on the draft. It's only two days away. Tom van Heron from ESPN will also join us. And let's get to your phone calls here in 8 5 5, two four two 7 two 8 5 Joe starts it off from Florida. Hello, Joe. Hello, Paul. Appreciate all you do and appreciate your program so much. Thank you very much. Yes, sir. I got a couple of questions. That I've missed a miss some of your shows back when you were discussing. Commissioners, thank you and the story was that we were going to 12 and then all of a sudden we get Texas. Right. And then we get a homa and then all of a sudden we don't have 12. That would be one question I'd have from you that I missed out on. And no fault of yours and then the other being, to me, personally, based on rings and based on championships and banners, coach Sabin is the best and then after that, it looks like Devo would be number two. I don't see how Kirby smart can be considered in that just because they won one. And neither explanation on that, but I appreciate everything you do and thank you. I'm going to hang up with you. John, thank you. Let's let the next guest answer the second part of your question. The first part is complex because a year ago, around this moment, college football essentially said, we're moving to a 12 team playoff. It could be as late as 2025. It could be as early as next year. Most of us thought it would be no later than two years. That was a year ago. So either this year or next. After that politics entered a lot of a lot of small minded people in intercollegiate athletics. Use the entrance of Texas and Oklahoma to the SEC as a means of getting even or attempting to get even with Greg thank you, the SEC commissioner. He was one of four people that were on that committee. They tried to act like he was the only person. They tried to act like he knew about this Oklahoma Texas thing all along, which is a specious lie. And unfortunately, college football did what it always does to itself. It shot itself in the foot. And no one gained from it, the sport lost, however, character was revealed, and we found out that the commissioners of the ACC, the Big Ten in the PAC 12 are some petty people. Let's move on to the next question. Now that we've cleared up that problem in the world, John is in Louisville. Hey, John. Hey, good afternoon, Paul. You've got your energy back after last Friday. By the way, I'm suing, I'm suing all the callers who insinuated that I was not well. That was just Jeff. Don't worry about him. And by the way, there's no next Paul fine bomb just to put that on the table. John, I went back to the bar where we were at, and I got the tab and the guy said, I didn't have a single drink. Of course, I slept on the $50 bill to say that. Yeah. Imagine how many bills you'll be slipping in Las Vegas. I'm going to ask you a question on Las Vegas, but first of all, I've got to tell you, your show yesterday, it's your callers that really get us through the slow time legend still way above everyone else, legend, aka the preacher, the demon. The delivered legend's coming legend is from a different universe right now. I think he gets up, Paul and the morning looks at his first prize mug puts on his black hat and says I'm taking no prisoners. Well, there's a prison joke in there somewhere, John. You know, enhance and Joe slept through Las Vegas. I believe he said med Trump and then who was he referring to when he said kiss the main G dogs, but I don't know, but he was in a car that drove through Vegas. I'm sure on the way to LA and he slept through it, which really doesn't qualify of having ever been awake in Vegas, which would put him. But the thing with Trump, he didn't just see Trump, he claims that he saw that he ran into Trump or went up to Trump at the tupelo, Mississippi airport, which is news to me that they have an airport in tupelo, Mississippi. Secondly, that he asked Trump if he's ever heard him on this show or something like that and Trump said, yeah, he watches the show too. Well, Trump lies sometimes. And bubba with the joke that Jeff plays with his brain and cat daddy with that been gay joke. I mean, you can't make this stuff up. The Ben gay joke was really, it was off color. Question on Las Vegas. I'm telling my.

"Finally, Matt, let me ask you about a story closer to home and that's Billy Napier at Florida. He's very matter of fact. He told us two weeks ago, all the different instruments. He's putting in. It's almost like he came there and found just a total waste dump of administrations and he's starting from scratch. What is your take on what he's done so far and how do you think he's going to do? I think he's a really good recruiter Paul, I think he's the best recruiter that had there since must champ and admire before that a really good recruiter he's got a really good track record of the coach, but as you know, coaching in this league with these teams and these players and these other coaches that are just tremendous coaches, it's a heavy, heavy lift. So you're in a situation where he has now the structure around him the environment around him where he can go to recruit at the elite level, he's got the process that he put in. He's using savings process. A lot of other guys have tried use savings process too and so far only one has gone away and won a national championship. That's curvy. So you could technically say Jimbo too, I guess. But Jim wasn't really completely in that process. He was at the beginning of it. But yeah, it's a hard haul man. It's going to be interesting to see how it works out for him. Great to have Matt Hayes on. It's always good to talk to you about. You'd be well. Thanks, Paul. Good stuff. From a veteran and I mean, this guy's been around a long time, usually for me to say. We'll take a break. More of your phone calls. At 855-242-7285..

"National championship game and he was quite extraordinary. I mean, the excitement level was. Hey, listen, I mean, that's the good part about this country. Everyone, I mean, music is not easily defined. And yeah, I mean, I think that they definitely just didn't go have a prosaic act. They had some of the biggest names in that genre of all time. Dr. Dre, you went through various most of those were older older stars. Hey, thanks for the call. Trey is up next. Hey, how you doing, my friend? Trey, we are doing great. Thank you. Hey, I kind of like that show, Paul. I thought it was done pretty good. I'm 59 years old. I didn't have a problem with it. I wanted to say that. But I think next year we might have sliced bread and the other guy have a competition out there. What do you think? That won't be the Super Bowl sliced bread and bro Bible will be playing at the halftime of the a and M Alabama game. That might be pretty good, Paul. Hey, two things here. And I haven't heard anybody bring this up about the situation at auburn. What about the young lady whose reputation has just been ruined? And huh? I'm an expert in libel law, but to have your reputation ruined, first of all, we have to know who you are. And she would have a very narrow case. You think so, really? Yeah, well first of all, I mean, you have to, in any now, first of all, has to be established. Is she a public person or not? And if she is correct, then the standard is significantly lower. If you're a public person, then don't ask me how I know so much about this. But the standard is extremely difficult, but in her case, she would have to prove that she has been damaged and that the person who put it out. And exactly. Who is that person Trey? Yeah, that's what I was what I was going to say. Hey, and Paul didn't one other thing and I'll let you go. Did you know last week and the coaches poll a basketball that one of those coaches ranked auburn number 22 in the country? Did you see that? I knew that the three or four weeks ago when they barely missed some guy in Kansas had them 9th, but I didn't realize they had been ranked that low. Auburn is no longer number one after losing to Arkansas. They are number two this week, and none of that really matters. But we will come back with much, much more. You are listening to the Paul finebaum show podcast. To have all of you here, especially our next guest, Matt Hayes, talk to your host a longtime sports writer down in Florida, some very strong opinions over the last week or two on the auburn situation as we try to move forward, how much damage has been done. And what are people saying? And what does it all mean? Matt, great to have you with us. Always good to talk to you. So it's over now, Brian harsen remains as the auburn coach for many wonder for how long good afternoon. Hey, Paul, how are you? Thanks for having me. So what's next for auburn and how did we get here? Well, I don't know that's over now. I started on day one. I don't think it's going to be over until it's over. Until they finally get their way and they get Brian hars on out. I mean, you know, you know auburn Paul thought works there. Once they decide something, they'll move heaven and earth to make it happen. And we've seen it over and over and over again. It's unfortunate part because honestly, it's such a great university. There's such great people there, but there's like a small little traction there that thinks because they give money that they are that they are the powers that be and nothing happens unless they say so. And it's just, again, there's so many great people that university and just those select few that put a stain on it. Matt, sometimes there are secret groups working underneath the surface and it's hard to discern exactly who they are, but this has been going on at auburn for a very long time. You wrote about this the other day and mentioned this goes back all the way to Terry bowden at least who succeeded pat dye, the legendary coach, who are these people and how does it work? It's the Illuminati Paul. That's what you shouldn't have said that. Now, your life is important. It's strange, man. I mean, you and I have talked about this before. I think I told you I went over to Terry bowden's house when I used to live in Orlando. He lived near me. I went over to do a story I was working on and he pulls out this ledger. That he told me when he gets first day on the job an assistant from the previous staff comes in and puts the ledger down his desk and said this is how we do business. He shows it to me, Paul and I'm not kidding you. He opens it up and I see the names of these guys and how much money they wrote and how much money they're paid every month. And I look at it and I could not believe what I was looking at. He looks up and he goes. That's the look I had on my face when I.

"Hey everyone, this is Zach Lowe, check out my podcast, the low post where I talk to people in and around the NBA about everything going on in the basketball world, a one and only Nicola jokic, the most watchable telegenic player in the NBA. Players trends under the radar teams everything I am a longtime holder of all the Devin Booker stock I can buy. And I'm not cashing in it because I think he's gonna keep getting better. Listen and subscribe to the low post wherever you listen to podcasts. The afternoon and early evening it is. The hits keep coming, legend is next. What's going on my friend? How you doing? Legend, we are doing great. Man, thanks for taking my call, man. I've really been enjoying the show today. Some great interviews, some great cows, man, I've been adjourned and I've been appreciate. Paul, you know, ideal for the Tuscaloosa is my friend. Why is that? Because he's not afraid to wear the black hat, Paul. Grandma's burger said one time of all the people in the broadcast, booth, he considered himself one person, not afraid to wear the black hat. That's what I always loved about you do. You ain't afraid to tell the truth about bear, Brian. People hate that you power for that. But I said, that dude got balls. He's got balls, baby. Not afraid to wear the black hat, Paul. Am I right or am I wrong? Well, if I could speak about myself, I'd say you're probably right. Yeah, that's why I love about Danny shadow. That's what I love about Tim Brando. Man, and it's rare, Paul. You know why ESPN announces don't get much respect. They company man. They suit for. What made you freaking Paul Flynn bomb is you wanna lost brother? You not afraid to tell the truth. That's what I like about him. And he just told the truth about Iron Man. The pop says the same thing over and over. If he didn't have Jim, the talk about, he'd have nothing to talk about. 'cause he don't know football. He might continue the greatest hits of the doobie brothers. He can tell you about it. No, we'll take you very long at all, just like one of his phone calls. And I'm going to call out another one of your callers, policy, okay? Sure. Shannon. Shut the hell up. Red dog's got to write the top. He came on talking trash that Alabama was going to get drilled. Red dog. Your team had a great year to a great team. Congratulations, dude. But Paul, correct me if it's wrong. This Shannon not come on this program last week and say these exact words. I'm an optimistic bulldog fan. Did he or did he not play that? Unequivocally. You know what that is? That's a punk move, Paul. That's me cover my butt if I win. That's me cover my butt if I lose. That's a punk football move car. I don't care about Alabama's last 20 times in a row to Notre-Dame. The legend would never come on this show and say, Paul, I'm an author mister Alabama fan. I don't know if we're going to win or lose. That's a pun month, dude. Shut up. You got nothing to brag about. Red dog, all the other bulldogs fans. You got something to say. That punk ain't got nothing to say, Paul. And that's the truth. Now about Danny shared. Love to do Paul. He's a man so much to me in my life. He's been a mentor. He's taught me so much. You and him, I ain't got nothing but love and respect for you, Brando. And Danny shared. And because as I've said, one thing you had to say about Jim and legend Paul, we're not your regular butt kissing collar, are we? No. No. You don't know what I'm gonna say when I come on. I might come on bitch slapping somebody. I'm gonna come over. You know, like, oh, I'm cool today. I mean, that's real frigging radio. Not pumps that are optimistic about the team, not Congress, colonel, the same board, frigging car. But not afraid to put the black cat on like Sheridan like rando like, Jim. Like legend like frigging Paul Simba. The black hat crew do. Lobby foul, please rap. Man. I just want to let that marinate for a minute. Don't you? They say I still wear the black cat or I used to work with black. By the way, a couple of calls were we got a call from Burger King, is that right? We want to correct Jim Jim's in the line at McDonald's. In Tuscaloosa now Burger King. Okay. We have another hour to go. Let's reset the tail. The table here. I'll be wearing a black hat when we come back. We have talked to Sylvester croom, David oven, I had a great conversation with Matt Hayes. We have one more to go. We will be joined by Bruce pearl. Should be the number one team in the country, but some writer in Kansas City voted them 9th..
