I would just say a winning really guns always wins. You know, that's a really really big reason why I wanted to come here to really. Coming from a team, you know, didn't really win that much. There was some really really big to me to, you know, be. It'd be a part of a team that could win thirty games possibly. So you know to be here now and to play with them. I'm just really blessed about south region offers three seed Purdue the top seed Virginia Cavs defense, Lebanon Arbor, Oregon to forty nine points ducks fewest in a tournament games. Tony Bennett Virginia head coach on dealing with Edwards who's been. Oh, so good. When you play players that are that special that can shoot from unlimited range just do your best as a team to make it hard for him. And then individually to to make him hit tough contested shots. That's always the goal of the defense, and he can get loose and he can shoot off the bounce off the ball screens. So he's you know in all levels. Can score. And he's explosive and strong. And just you know, you gotta be so locked in so alert because their offense is so good Edwards is now eighteen of forty two from three point range, which is the most three pointers in a single tournament by player in school history. It you expect it to go in winning shoots at that three ties the game at sixty seven bee's. And he does it only takes a second to get it off. Secondly, it doesn't actually have the purest spin in the in the world. Canada shoots a little bit of a curveball. But man, he's always kissing shoot. Always looks like he's leaning back. Just a little bit. Oh, man. Hunchine his back. Jimmy like what is Ryan? You've got gotta be right. But he's one for five and three point line four of twelve overall and six turnovers in twenty nine minutes. Murphy goes down trading on Williams hits a half. Hook once the offensive foul wasn't called that was an easy put in for Purdue. They go back up by two. Probably a flop by Jordan Murphy, but help help by. Let's see if they they adjust to the double big trading on Williams guard out the floor. Kausar moves it to the freshman center. Now, coffee, splits the double team to the basket and stretches out the left hand to fingertip, flip it over. Matt harm who was challenging at seven three. What a move by. "In the Lakers have tipped off their release the Lakers fourteen to ten seventy seven twenty to play in the first quarter. Lebron James thirteen points away coming into the night from passing Michael Jordan, the all time scoring list. He already has six points seven points away, not for the Lakers are going anywhere. Anyway, when it's a nice story because LeBron James and Michael Jordan people can start that argument about who's better who's not better than the other one. We'll keep an eye on that. As he continues in his quest to pass, Michael Jordan has six points. Need seven to pass them on the all time NBA scoring list last night, twenty four hours mind after we talked about court storming in college basketball. And we were wondering at a certain point when could it happen that maybe just? Maybe an incident could happen where somebody may say the wrong thing or do the wrong thing. Well at the Purdue number eleven to country lost the Minnesota last night. A Purdue player had a chance not on him to get into it with a Minnesota fan and things almost escalated and even Sam decker said that Purdue play should have broken the kids jaw when that court storming incident happened on Tuesday night. Yeah. I mean, we were just talking about after the Nevada Utah state situation that this is something that the internet has take a hard look at this off season because last night, Minnesota produced that's exactly what I was talking about, Freddie, you've got to produce a team that loses on the road to a Minnesota team that needed that game. I mean, Minnesota's gonna get in the tournament. They were they had a chance to get in before that. But they're probably for sure now after defeating Purdue team could win the big ten title. But Matt harms at the kids seven foot three he's walking off the court and this Minnesota fan comes onto the court makes contact with them flip some the double bird gets in his face. And and a lot of people look at some of these guys and go, well, you're supposed to be the bigger, man. Why at that point to me, Freddie, if you're trying to get off the court and hundreds maybe thousands of fans are storming onto the floor at what point do you feel like you have to defend yourself because that's to me the situation. If you see the video is what it looks like a fan makes contact with Matt harms gives them the double bird. He's yelling in if that happened on the street, we would all feel threatened, and we would all respond accordingly. And I'm telling you man, what Sam decker said a lot of people thought that was harsh. I think it was just real because somebody's don't get punched in the face. And then you know, what's going to happen in harm's had done that. Oh my goodness. The athlete overreacted. He's got to be the bigger person. Why this is a guy who made contact with him gardening space flipped to the double bird. What's the next step? I mean, how much more does he have to take, Freddie before he responds accordingly? And that's the danger, of course, storming. I'm telling you last night. It could have been it. But we are moving into a position where when it happens. It might not be the next time. Maybe not the time after that. But at some point there's going to be a confrontation, and it's going to just shut everything down. I wish we could shut it down before we get to that point looking at the replay harms throwing the basketball away walking out the court minding his own business and to your point that fan came up now give the referee credit. I know who the referee was but he saw that immediately. Got that fan away from the player because that could have escalated and had to be kind of guy. He said, I'm not gonna give this dude any kind of satisfaction to believe for one second that he's going to get under my skin the other team got under my skin by beating us. I'm not gonna let some wa who yahu fan come off the court come onto the court and think he's gonna do that to me. But going back to your point about being the bigger person. And here's what I mean. By this Freddie, companies my met Kevin for infant Simmons on Freddie and Fitz on ESPN radio. I'm really sick and tired of hearing that they need to be the bigger person. Because my answer to that always is well, why can't the person be a bigger person as well? It's the same thing when somebody says something derogatory said, well, turn the other t be the bigger person. Well, wait a minute. That person's all of the be the bigger person. Why do you have to do that just to make that person feel better? You think that your overriding with that person said no that idiot is still going to be an idiot. So why do you need to be the bigger person to justify the idiocy that you had to deal with arms had to be the bigger person because he's the athlete. Well, if you were the bigger person, you're behind should have been out there in the first place, and you behind is going to be out there in the first place. Then be the bigger person celebrate with your basketball team because all you accomplish with showing people exactly kind of jackass you are by going out and doing something like that thinking, oh, we got the best. You your monkey behind in play. You went out there knocking down threes. You went out there screen. Enrolling you were a fan that enter a basketball court where you have no business being on the basketball court anyway, and if you're going to do that when it comes to court storming, then you and the rest of your friends, you got celebrate with your teammates, what kind of non adult moved that you think that was going to accomplish by doing that. And then having somebody say, well, you know, arms needs to be the bigger person too. Many people need to be the bigger people long before we need to put that at the feet of a basketball player that was not doing anything wrong. And we're talking about nineteen twenty twenty one year olds man, asking them to be the bigger person the problem with this, Freddie, is that fan approached him because he knew he had an advantage this guy. He was he was hoping. The assumption. These fans may the cameras are on people. He's not gonna do anything to me. I get to bump into this guy in betas personal space. I get to flip him the double bird something. I wouldn't do it. We read the club. If we were at the bar down the street, if we were if we were hanging out somewhere, I wouldn't have done it at the house party. But because we're on a basketball court and their cameras, and they're all these folks around I know that it's probably not likely he's gonna throw a punch so let me get into space and try to act like a tough guy. My problem is what happens when that guy dust or punch to me if Matt harms would a guy running at him full speed that he doesn't know flipping him the double bird yelling at him. Bumping into him at Matt harms had defended himself, physically he would have been justified. But guess what the big ten Purdue suspended? Everybody would have jumped on his case. And what it said you can't do that. The problem is you got a whole lot of folks in this world, Freddie, who live according to what they think people should do and we need to start living. According to what people will do if you push them because that's the problem. The court stomach. Somebody's be hurt. One of the things about courts and believe me, I get I've never had a problem with it you want to celebrate with your fellow students and student athletes to feel like you belong for that one moment. I get it. But there's always one that's going to ruin it for somebody else. And that's the problem. He almost ruined if somebody else thanks to a quick thinking referee and harms not buying into that whole deal that doesn't mean that there's going to be somebody that's going to look the other way. And then that's where court storming is probably going to disappear if and when that happens again, Freddie and Fitz Simons, a Freddie of mind McAfee presented by progressive insurance. AB will get a new team by Friday, and it should not surprise. You will be this one. That's next. Spunk.

The mayor of a Florida town opened fire on a swat team who raided his home earlier in the morning port Richey, mayor Dale massad fire. Mayor massad wanna know part of that he grabbed his piece started firing rounds. Luckily, nobody was injured. The sheriff of Pasco county said this at a press conference, quote, he's lucky he's not dead. So I'm gonna take taking nobody was hurt. Right. Yeah. He's lucky. He's not dead. I'm looking at this mayor's mug shot. It looks like he's posing for a school picture, Scott. A big smile on his face. Hey. Yeah. Practice. What is practicing medicine me? What does that mean? What what was the practicing medicine without a license? Can you for hernia or giving you pills or maybe a combination of both the strap it on the rubber gloves telling you just try to relax. I don't know what that means. But I think it's something Robert Kraft probably pays for this mayor is sixty eight sixty eight year old mayor he surrendered to thirties. He is now in custody. Dateline? Philadelphia. A thief in Philadelphia ran off with some dudes laptop earlier this month of came up to him in the street grabbed his laptop took off running. This is what's great. There happened to be members of a running club nearby. So they saw the crime taking place and the members of the running club chased the do down held them down until the authorities arrive. That's just bad luck. That's just that's just bad luck. Man. That's too bad. We got some basketball coming up here. Tonight. Hoosiers at Iowa tip off at nine pre-game is at eight. You know, what I'm tired of hearing about though, and this is where coach dockage, and I kind of had a little disagreement the other day. I'm so sick of hearing about how the fans were swearing in assembly hall the other day, and the athletic director had to come out and talk about how embarrassing the fans were the other night. Listen, I'm not saying what the fans did against the Purdue. Kid was right. I'm not saying it was classy because it wasn't. But if the athlete directors are going to start out apologies here students being passionate. It's probably somewhere pretty far down the list that he needs to start with how about your teams lost eleven out of twelve conference games. How about that? How about the last ten years you've missed the NCAA tournament more than you've had kids running over each other on? Halloween kids getting into fights getting busted with weed. But yeah, we're going to go out of our way for this big apology world tour because our students said a poor word to produce plays that harms. Yeah. What were they saying f you harms done? Well, the big rivalry rivals are. This is a rivalry game. Right. In harm's is kind of like an evil character. He's a bad guy coming into Bloomington. He was flopping all night long, celebrating being jerk. Just I mean, I don't look I use not an elite team anymore, right? Harms loved us. I bet the Purdue harms kid eight this up. I mean, you love going into enemies arena and being the bad guy. Right. We loved Reggie Miller because he did that Reggie Miller gave it back to Spike Lee gave it back to those people harms loved this and victim here is like, you know, the excuse of coach, doc, it's those that was awesome radio the other day when you guys are arguing about that. You could hear that WABC dot com. But I the thing we're supposed to be this leaked school. I use this elite team the elite teams don't do that. While the National League team right now. And quite frankly, should be grateful that kids are showing up to these games right playing in the with the record if I'm an I use student, and I have my athletic director, come out and. The only thing he apologizes for is our behavior. Fine. I don't go to the games anymore. How fun and your empty arena with your horrible team. Fred glass, is this also is this something that I use students are known for do. They do this every game with these F dance. I don't think every game. I think it's a rivalry passionate thing. I've been down to football games in the SEC Tennessee against Florida. You hear those types of chance. I mean now granted nobody's saying that Tennessee Florida is above this. But it happens when rivals get together it shows that there's passion involved here. Purdue hates Indiana. Indiana hates Purdue Matt harms was loving this. Nobody was harmed here. You know, Matt harms could come out and say this and say that, but I promise you that fired that dude up and when he got that tip in late to bury the hoosiers. He was soaking it up mad. He was embraced. How what a coincidence. It is for Purdue to have two identical giant white men on their team is Isaac Haas and harms confused. I know Haas hasn't been on the team for years, but they look exactly alike and the hell there's two as an accident. Ancient name. Off produce always done. They've had these big white dudes. I remember as a kid they had Steve Shuffler into Craig Riley. Remember those big Cornfed white meals. Brad Miller went to Purdue that's their fame. I stood next. Is it costs at the airport? Waiting to get our luggage a couple of years ago. I've stood right now. I'm not like a short guy like six foot. Six foot one. I looked like a dwarf next to him. I looked like his child. Isaac Haase's ten-year-old son standing next, and he's a giant. Oh, yeah. Whatever takes the attention this horrible. I you team. I can't believe you did that nobody pay attention that. We stink. Nice deflection. Fred glass tops. Whoa. You get a raise us.

"Talented infected one at that. But a lot of new pieces around him and played a very difficult, honestly too difficult schedule based on that on that on that re having to rebuild a little bit or retool, and they got they. Game at Florida state. They had a chance at Texas on the road couldn't pull it off. They had a lot of losses like that. But since they discovered on their as a player named beyond Williams at six nine six ten a really long and wide low post center that allows them to use their seven three shot blocker, Matt harms off benches and energy guy, and they'd become much better. I think they've won seven in a row now that includes a win over Michigan state. And th they they've really started to play. Well, and on a decent. You know? I I think that that's a little bit harder to define because we don't Oklahoma was a unique situation last year. What happened there? The one on the way up and on the way down was a totally different deal than anything. We usually see. But I think the team that has to avoid that right now is Auburn Auburn started the fight their way back a little bit from a really tough stretch where they lost to Kentucky at home a lot some other SEC games. But there's it's a tough schedule that they have to play. It's a really good league. And and they and they they've had some injuries since um absences, and that's the team that has to watch it self to avoid becoming this year's Oklahoma by John Kuhn here and looking at this weekend. We have some really compelling matchups. And I just look at them. And I think to myself some of these could could end up making their case for the champion in the regular season in some of these big conferences, how do you really see these games playing out here this weekend? And then how does that impact? These teams down the stretch. In Virginia at this point. I say they're playing for a number one seed because each of them has. North Carolina is very loud statement for each of those especially in Duke were able to get the sweep by going Charlottesville and winning tomorrow that would be enormous for the blue devils. And and it would put it for Virginia. Great. We'll get the split. It would put them sort of back on even ground with with Duke. And then they would have knowledge that they only have to play Carolina once.

"All right time for our true false, Tuesday's spots are by align chiropractic, and Dr Craig Stoler who is unfortunately, not able to join us here today. But will be back next week. True or false as we start off here. We will read h who false statements and then sack Shaw. Matt Mesler and myself will always I hadn't introduced to yet today. You know, what's interesting is yesterday when I stepped out to get the Bellas the very first thing you did was introduced at us. I know pretty common. It is pretty common, Jamie. Does it Sam desert Naidoo it, you know, the real the real mount Rushmore of the station. Right. Exactly. Exactly. All right ready for true false Tuesday's. We'll start with basketball. Perdue will win the big ten regular season title. The Boilermakers just one game behind Michigan. And Michigan state. They've got two losses in the big ten when you look at purdue's schedule down the stretch here. They don't play Michigan or Michigan state again. They have one match up with Maryland, they play at Nebraska, they play essentially that next tier of all the best teams. They don't play Wisconsin. The rest of the way either. And one thing to keep in mind is they have had the toughest big ten schedule to date to match matchups against Michigan state. One against Michigan. Believe they must have faced Wisconsin. If they don't face, Wisconsin. Again, they did they play them on the road beat them. January eleven eighty four eighty over time. Yup. Yeah. So. It's possible. And that's an interesting question because you know, it's like when you kind of think about it. It's like could they could I personally? I just I don't think that they're that. Good. I don't think that they're good enough to go seventeen and three sixteen and four and say. It's you know, if they do it, they do it. But. I'll get some of those road games, especially. You know, when they were six and five or eight and five or whatever. I think some teams might have taken them a little lightly or maybe hadn't fully scouted them or been like, oh, Matt harms is basically is a cost but skinny earn less good. You know? So so I think that they're I think they're going to be more heavily scouted. I also think that they don't they don't quite have the same. As Michigan and Michigan state because misgivings could say, you know. Yeah, they each have a loss. One to Purdue. But I it just you've seen that star power before Purdue now part of this is 'cause they're so inexperienced. But it the they had a lot of opportunities to go up against good good to you know, tournament caliber teams and missed and so far, you know, they beat Maryland at home. They beat Wisconsin on the road, which is better than Michigan did and they beat Michigan state. But have they have they really impressed in in these games or if they just kept winning. They were impressive against Michigan state from I mentioned, the three games they were impressed. But I mean, what else do I mean? What else do you want? How many times does either team any team look super impressive number in seven eight nine games. Michigan. Michigan state Heff is what that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying is like. I think I think Purdue is a team that's going to beat a lot of teams this year. You know, probably win twenty two games in the regular season. I don't know if that's still even mathematically possible for them. But that's the kind of team. I see them being. Whereas Michigan and Michigan state strike me as top five teams teams that win twenty five plus games again, if they don't do it. You know, it doesn't necessarily mean this. This was incorrect. It just means that they have the star power to really dominate teams. So you're gonna say false. Yeah. Ms true or false pretty will win the big time regular season title. I want to take the false on this one. I think. They'll end of finishing in the top four. But I don't think they can get over that hump. I mean, they Michigan and Michigan state of got a they've got to lose at least a couple hopscotch them. We'll mathematically there will be two losses between the teams. Yeah. Because they play each other twice. I'm with you though. Yeah. Essentially would add actually for for Michigan would have to come down. They'd have to lose, you know, one more actions missions got the tiebreaker against Purdue in the big ten regular season. There's no tiebreaker. If you if you're the same record, you just wait you just are share co champion of the big ten regular season title. That's ludicrous like co big ten champions in football. Right. Right. So my ludicrous. But I think. I do think it's going to come down there the Michigan and Michigan state. I think Purdue probably have we'll probably be that number three team out of the big ten. I mean, they do they do have a favorable schedule. I will say that Purdue does. Yeah. Gadgil there. Whether toughest game at Maryland in Maryland, hasn't really been a Wyoming team as of late. But you know, it's it's a different beasts going to college park. Yeah. They they're only two games where they're not favored to win with better than sixty percents at Indiana net. Maryland, maybe at Nebraska and Iowa. Okay. Yeah. And see I think I don't think it's feasible Indiana's in front upset for that. Does the in state rivalry things? Like that special. The fact that they got embarrassed by Purdue lost by fifteen a couple a week ago. So they could be that motivation. I think the hard part for Purdue is is I watched the last couple of their games and watch them that earlier games is you know, cars had words. I mean jacked up a lot of shots the other day. I mean that guy is like a that could build a brick house all by himself, and he's a really good player. But he just shoots on what did he go? The other day. He was four of nineteen of the day. I don't know if they have enough in one he missed fifteen shots, and they won correct. Because Klein was was really good. I don't think they have. Enough guys that I don't I don't think they can survive that many times with Carson words does that Matt Ryan Kline played really, Well, Matt harms, I think had a pretty good game gel eastern played pretty well. But honestly, like they're they're much more tied to the success of one player than say nothing. Michigan state with cash. Winston degree. Is. But Nick ward of Joshua for comes back. Matt mcquade they've got other options. Michigan clearly has a lot of options. I don't think Purdue has enough depth across its entire team here to be able to win this thing. I think those are gonna gonna drop a couple of games the times where they have three games in seven days will ultimately be their undoing which they do have February twelfth nineteenth got three and seven days. I think they have another one Saturday March second through March nineth they have three and seven days. In some of those teams twice where people have no a little bit more. So I'm gonna say take the false. All right true. Or false, Ohio State is a bigger threat this week then to Michigan. I'm actually going to say true. I Michigan is awful in Iowa City under line. I think they have one regulation win in like last ten tries. It might not even be that it might even be worse than that. But it's their offline Iowa City Iowa plays this weird brand of basketball that everyone seems to figure it out. It's kind of like, Illinois, although Illinois upset couple teams lately. But it's they just they just shoot they just run offense offense offense offense, and they don't do anything on defense. And I think if you're John Lennon de'andre Haines who kind of puts together the offensive game plan with with coach be line. You're probably looking you're a little bit. Like, oh, you know with our if our defense can make. You know, maybe five more stops than a typical team does in run the offense. That exactly how we want to run the offense. Missing come with a big win. So, you know, it's. I'm always going to be aware. The big ten road games are very tough. But I think we saw last week a Friday night supercharged atmosphere. In michigan. Now, I think Indiana, clearly, whatever their opening five minute game plan was was incorrect swinging the miss there. But I think I think seeing Michigan do that at India. Makes me confident that Michigan will be able to do that. Iowa Ohio State. I think is a tough match-up for Michigan. I think it's a especially on defense. I'm sorry. When Michigan's on offense. It's just you know, I broke it all down in a story earlier today. So it's a it's a tricky one. I think they could win both. But I'd say how states tougher than Iowa. Miss. I'm gonna take the I'll take the true on this one and Zach brought up the point. That is a it's a tough go at Iowa City. You know, it's a tough. It's a tough atmosphere in Iowa. I mean, it's it's almost could be almost reminiscent as mission going into Brask last season. You know, it's a tough go. But at the same time Ojo states coming in what they they've lost. What five last six or something like that? For the last five something like that higher state has lost five of the last six. Yeah. So they're they need a marquee win. And this could be one of those one of those games that they could cause that maybe Michigan could caught sleeping. I'm not saying that they will. But this could be one of those games were Ohio State could come in the Chrysler, and it could go they could cause the upset. Michigan did struggled their last home game against against Minnesota. Who came off of a tough a tough close win at Penn State the bottom of the barrel in the big ten. Ohio State could be one of those tough goes for Michigan as well tonight. And I think they could be the one that could cause some issues more than the game at Iowa's at at Iowa. What would would was mentioned earlier about the defense mean, I think that's really a thing when they play this running gun style at Iowa, they rank one hundred twenty six than adjusted defensive efficiency. When they're gonna play a Michigan team that is the best in the country at defense. And so I think that's the tipping point where Ohio State does have can give Michigan a little bit of a of a harder. Look tonight, nine o'clock start. Michigan coming off of a big win certainly that can play with their psyche a little bit. Yeah. I I think this is true. That Ohio State is a bigger threat than Iowa to Michigan true or false. Michigan. Can't go to an all this week unless Jordan pool breaks out of his shooting slump in his last two games. Jordan pool has made just let's see here. He's one of five and two of seven. So he is three of twelve in his last two games. Michigan cannot go to an ordinance next two games as Jordan pool breaks out of his shooting slump. False. I think this something we did not discuss beeline discussing this yesterday. But he was asked about really like the fifth press conference in a row. He's been asked about Jordan pools or somebody else's slump in that seems to be like a. The go-to. Well, in in in the reason, why is because people ask us on the message boards..

"Mike Wozniak with you Spartans have only two guys who've scored the basketball, Cassius Winston seven points, three rebounds and an assist and Matt mcquade hit a three and also got a two and a dunk on the run produced been spread out a little bit more. They've already gotten six points from Aaron Wheeler off the bench and six from Ryan climb the starters, and that's up just four shots on three point tries. Thank you. And you look at Michigan state. It's how they score versus the assisted basket right now only three of them. So far those five field goals the right guys aren't necessarily shooting. But I would expect to see a guy going and Tillman to continue destruction before they have not been productive in the paint credit. A lot of what Purdue done both with ball pressure. That side the super active. You can almost double a player in the post without ultimately fully committed Pedic. Purdue is played that fine edge that five line in between a couple of times that have just studied Michigan state post offense players yet seems to be just enough to make ward uncomfortable, but not over committing and giving up that sweeten pass. And thus Michigan state like you said hasn't been able to react to it Spartans half the ball out of the timeout foster lawyer, the Mr. basketball for the state of Michigan last year in data longtime NBA coach works in the front office with the clippers now. Back to mcquaid between the circus. Clock down to single digits as mcquaid goes screen and roll inside the ward good chats with one hand gathered to two then flipped it up shotput style of the paint to get his first scratch with the day. It's a ten point boiler. It evolved almost as zone offensive tight when he of stood in the middle of that ball was laser through their seven fifteen to play in the first half ten point lead, the Boilermakers. They're doing it without their leading score Carson Edwards scoring yet. But now. Fire off the dribble had his first martyr of the game this one for three left. Boy, just the the memory of someone that is not exist or gone paying attention to what transpired previous. This is a guy you played them in open gym at the rec center. He'd light you up. Mcquaid swigs to Aaron Henry picked up by Sasha's, Stefan of it's at the point do really aggressive defensively really working to keep their man. Out of the paint. Equate in the corner, he'll put it on the floor and going to pick up a foul on Carson Edwards. For edwards. That'll be his first just the third team foul on the boiler makers only three team fouls on the Spartans. It's been a clean half for both teams when it comes to fouls. Brian Klein will come back in for Matt bainer Sasha's. Devante bitch. We'll take a seat the Spartans will get cash. Winston back in. He was out for the media timeout and just a little bit after that. Roster. Lawyer will take a seat equate cops to the corner back to going to the point try to find Nick ward on inside the Purdue. Collapsing. Big time. Go to a heart double that goes inside award. He's gonna lose the ball walked by trading on Williams. Ward waterfowl, he's not going get it thirteen point lead with six twenty to go. The first step. Here's Edwards stepping in. And firing just inside the three point line. No, good rebound. A Nick ward the Spartans moving it ahead. Winston a dangerous pass into a crowd to Kenny goin- there were two Boilermakers around. But it's going to go out of bounds off goings and a bad decision by your point guard to try that pass that lob down the middle. There's so many different factors that can get a piece of it. And actually looked like it was tipped kind of air balled it even further down the floor. And if you don't grab the ball with two hands in the painted area in this game. You're not getting it. Here's Carson Edwards with the dribble on a strength baseline to know. Gel eastern helped drive in missed the shot hung on the rim and fell off rebound to Kenny going for Michigan State Winston quickly up the right side. Whistle and a foul inside away from the ball is Nick ward trae beyond Williams fighting for real estate. I'm not sure how you defend it you run that deep into it in ward continues to use that off-farm like a battering ram. It was more than anything of just extending joust type maneuvered for Williams still understand if he gets behind him that deep on the floor got flip to the frontside overplay Williams. First foul, he'll go out, Matt harms. We'll come back in not as strong, but a lot more length board. Double to swing it to mcquaid time to fire a three right side. No, good rebound tipped out control Spartans back to mcquaid. He'll reset do it again. No good. No gel eastern with the rebound for Purdue. Carson Edwards quick crossover dribble lost mcquaid, but he didn't fire the jump shot. Now. He's still with the dribble. Left-hand pocket pass inside the Matt. What's up from the short wlac and puts Perdue with the lead by fifteen their largest of the game. And how about the footwork didn't charge? He didn't wanna dumped it could've maybe try to. But it would have been charged the touch to do that. As a big fella. Five minutes to play the first staff Cassius. Winston rippling here to going back to the top. Aaron Henry left side. He'll watch the three. No good. No gel eastern the rebound. For purdue. Here's Easter driving to the basket. Handoff to Ryan dribble. It back to the point wine right side, the harms harms worked on his long shooting in the offseason doesn't attempt many. But tan, here's Carson Edwards with the dribble. Mcquaid make contact mcquaid. We'll get the foul called air. So difficult is it defender with that size and maturity and strength to what Edwards can do with the ball mcquaid expend so much energy defensively? He'd be in the right position nine times out of the Ted. But that one little hand to the hip Broschi called it. Well, mcquaid to the bench twenty nine to fourteen Purdue with the lead over Michigan state. Here's Carson Edwardsville rise up and fire at three missed it. Kenny joins had the rebound but bat harms quickly reached in tied him up with a possessor hero gets it back to the boilers pervasive. In state, you're down fifteen. Thank you. Your lucky stars not more because of Edwards were hot. You might be buried. Well. You look at what Purdue has done the last four games they've made forty four threes there on pace to do. So but five of thirteen right now for these big just wide open. Once I credit. What Purdue there's always somebody in that inner circle of offensive rebounding. That's putting a ton of pressure on the Spartans. Purdue is really big on Xtra possessions in the Matt painter era. Whistle and a foul going to be called away. From the basketball has Purdue goes into the half court set that's going to be a Nick ward. But they talk a lot about. Forcing turnovers which they've done so far the Spartans with five and then also the offensive rebounds, something that was used against them. In east Lansing by the Spartans eighteen times had eighteen offensive rebounds. Purdue will trigger it into hyper. Now eastern as Carson Edwards. Curls hooks the past baseline to harms harms pump fake with the left hand jumper, and then gives it back to Edwards Edwards spinning into the paint and into a crowd take about three onto Aaron Henry to the basket. As as a four to fine trailing three point Bob. Good rebound. Nick. Ward of the Spartans dodge, the tagger is the roof is about to get blown off here. Aaron Henry hesitant left side holds it up. Spartans will go to their half court offense. States a little shell shocked against this defense. I don't think they're either big this neutralize this early. Jay Brown swings round of the nearside. Aaron Henry look get a screen from goings trapping on the triple inside. It goes to going goings skip to gay Brown. Three point shot. No, good war tips. Aaron Henry comes away with a long rebound. Dumps it inside. The crowd. It's taken away by Purdue. Here's Carson Edwards back to the way, driving right hand blocked taken away by Xavier tilles. The Michigan state. Here's Winston up the left side Stafford pop for twenty-five. No, good harms Sach is near the tin and holds the rebound up. As far as if you're an analyst a broadcaster. This is ideal basketball. There's action everywhere as far as the coaches what they'd love to see the orange thing. In the circle thing. This is a bad as far as business at passes of interior paint. But the guts and the intensity. Top of the line produced got two minutes without a bucket. Michigan state's going forward. Here's Ryan CLYDE, trying to end edits off the iron rebound gonna go long the corner away by no gel eastern. Good hustle by eastern who just does the little things fills in the gaps and a time out good. It'll be called by Matt painter. The boiler makers has they'll have the ball on the outer bow twenty nine fourteen pretty with the lead two and a half to play on the first staff timeout at Mackey arena. "D W where Las Vegas comes to talk read than that last possession in transition that could be one of the small pox on his inability when he gets near the ramp to elevate or extend anything near or above the rim, and that was an easy swat and attract out from Spartan. Sprinting defender we see Matt harms into the pivot the seven foot three center. From the Netherlands. I thought he would be moving into the starting lineup this year, and he did for the first eleven games or so, but he is handled trae Williams moving into the startup very well. In fact, he said look I've been trying to box him out and move off the block since we started practicing this year. I can see why starting that's a pretty good attitude for young player. Would have been easy to go. The other way Purdue basketball timeout Klein pops to the top gives it over on the wing left side to Eric hunter shot clock down twelve Purdue. Trying to get something started. Here's hunter deep on the wing against Aaron Henry Klein off the curl. Good passable corner to Grady, I for the three rebound to Aaron Henry, the freshman Romandie for Michigan state ahead to map a guede. Winston two-handed ball fakes on the swig bass. Instead keeps the dribble drive with the right hand scoops in beyond iphone and harms and lays it up and he's got four all of the Spartan points. And it's nine before Purdue rarely does Izzo applaud this early in the game. But he put his hands up pointed clap to say good job cash with that's the type of Dr wants the bigs have cleared the area. Eric Connor bowl to the dribble doubled down screen for Klein left side. The effort takes a peek at the basket and gives it up declined at the point line left hand dribble to hyper, hyper good ball fake back decline. He'll rise in fire. The three. Oh boy. Hey from downtown early on he's at two three and has six for the Boilermakers hunter made that curl booth. There was an over help by Winston leave that shooter at that distance. Nick ward, try to get some real estate the post he gets the left handed hook off. But it falls off the iron rebound Purdue. Eight point boilermaker lead fourteen minutes to play in the first half, Matt harms they're trying to dump it into them and got his foot tied up at Xavier Tillman. Put the forum at the back of the big man from the Netherlands went down hard. He's up and he's okay. But it'll be a loose ball foul. Savior till kaffir Tillman, unfortunately, he doesn't push around a body type like that in practice. Normally it's ward in ADA, and maybe bouts off of him at Harvard gets a little narrow like that. You could still see him shake it off to push to the hardwood. This is a guy that can post, but that's really not his forte of in that area. Aaron wheeler. Play throws up top and the length at seven three. What's it down with a two and stuff at produce fourteen four- almost like a high jumper with four momentum and the play in front of him. That was beautiful. Here's tasha's Winston Dc to Nick war. Double team comes from the top four ounces to the corner. Now his step in fire from seventeen rebound to be tipped out. By Matt equate Cassius Winston went into the backboard and save to Aaron Henry, but not an over back violation as it wasn't patrolled. Here's Winston that gets a screen outside the three point line to save your Tillman mcquaid tried to run screen role on the wing downloaded Nick board half double now a full double back to McLane. Michigan state swinging it out of that double to make Purdue pay Winston shot clock at by driving into traffic lost got it back. Missed the shot. Rebound. Save Tillman in Michigan state, resets wing Matt mcquaid for three. No good. Harms the rebound for Purdue. They can extend their ten point was good look. But it was so confrontational find one eastern driving. He missed it stuff. Back attempt for harms. No, good rebound long. Michigan state mcquaid catch show three pointer and transition air balled it take it away by Carson Edward sport Purdue. He'll stop and the three on a dime. No good. Lots of tempo. Not a lot of points. Nick ward. The rebound for the Spartans ahead to mcquaid mcquaid driving. Do Joe dunked and a great skip past side to side from caches Winston routes and under appreciated aspect of what Michigan state does they run the wings as well. As anybody. There's immediate spacing wants the ball is gathered for a mcquaid was notice the shooter and defender a rare dealt with two heads the Spartans one for their last seven great posted to Birlik. Matt harms eastern found imperfectly uses the long left hand scoop. It back in the window produced backup ten big guys. Face cut in that area. But yet still expected to gather and put it on the glass gay Brown. Ed for Tommaso. He's the back court with Cassius. Winston mcquaid save Tilghman and going up front. Purdue it's eastern now garden cashless Winston shot clock down to eight Winston gets a step with the right hand in the corner. Gay Brown just off the bench left three. No good. AM snares the reeboks draw with two hands and hands it off to eastern dramatic painters. Boiler Baker slow as good as Michigan state is as a team shooting high thirty percent tiles or getting some open looks right now. But Winston has had to be that initiator burning fuel to take his defender and draw and other Sasha's Stefanovic four. Four perdue. As well as Aaron Wheeler, Stefan left side Kline contested fire at the three missed it. Rebound fought for Williams made it difficult for savior till, but but Tilghman guns away with it. But the Spartans here's Winston driving into the paint again back to goings open for three off the he'll no good Tillman battling on the inside. He'll knock it out of bounds off save your Tillman. And it'll be Purdue basketball out of the time out the boiler makers are up ten with eleven nineteen to play on the first bath sixteen six over number six.

"Sometimes there's a freedom with knowing that the game plan is not evidence against you. When you're on offense and for eastern a guy that has that little hitch in his free throw step. He does have an offensive. I why he doesn't shoot. It doesn't look tremendously pure. This is a guy that knows where his painted shots can come from. And again, he doesn't look like a normal point guard broad strong in those legs as strong as anyone a fifty percent foul shooter. He banks in both of them here. Eric hunter will come in no gel eastern. We'll take a seat hunter of another freshman from Indianapolis. We talked about Aaron Henry a freshman four Michigan state from Indian hunter six three one seventy takeover at the point seventy to Purdue with the lead just about to the first media timeout mcquaid popping off a double screen left side. Now turns dumps deep to wars war left hand hooked past to Aaron Henry, driving and a half hook across the way in and out. Rebound O'Brien blind. At Purdue Klein has now scoops it out the window trae beyond Williams spikes for the rebound. And they got a foul up the stuff up. Not often that the Spartans are beat in transition, especially when the rebound is able to push back that slowly by guy, and CLYDE is not necessarily a speedster. But when he got to the rim. The cascade of defenders falling it, of course, fifty will win a lot of those tip battles against the Spartan size. Right now. So we see Trayvon Williams go to the stripe. He's fifty percent. Pile shooter wearing fifty honored of his favorite player who wasn't that long ago. Caleb spot again, and they don't look too similar. Negative. But yeah, the optimism of development there where you start is not necessarily where you finish. And I've noticed that also with his free throws stroke that follow through is a little bit. More straightened. Fewer a tendency to bed that wrist awkwardly. But the fans appreciate how fifty started this game. You got both nine to two Purdue with the lead. Matt harms will come in Williams will get a seat. Save your Tilton states. The both coaches go on to the bench for the pivot going into the high screen for caches. Winston Winston left his feet deep to going through it away. Take away by Carson Edwards. Eurostepped Brad words, but it's blocked from behind by savior Tillman. As he was one onto the break beat the guard, but didn't see the forward bearing down behind the hawk bands. Like the start for the Boilermakers. There ahead of number six Michigan state nine to to a break in the action at Mackey arena. You're listening to compass media networks, America's home for college basketball. I'm Jay.

"Seven twenty five to play. I snapped at Columbus. Perdue with its first lead of the game twenty to eighteen over Ohio State, Adam Amine, Bob bell van or ESPN radio crew here. The shot steamed center tonight just when we were praising Ohio State for cleaning things up defensively. Here's Purdue on its well to one run taking its first leap. Everything could go wrong for a house fake went wrong. They gave up turnovers they now have made more turnovers than Purdue nine eight produced turning those turnovers into points. They're not doing a good job get into the glass, and they're shooting for I mean, everything could go wrong and the problem with that is Adam I'm a big believer in segment scoring take a look at that segment. Outscored by yell at undoes, eight minutes of work in less than four minutes at psychologically, really, draining produced still got that momentum. Right. Matt harms the seven foot three two hundred fifty pound redshirt sophomore at the line of the left. Looks up the free throw and knocks it down to complete a three point play Purdue leads by three twenty one to eighteen. I'm told by our fundraiser drinks, just simply only take one field goal attempts since the last media timeout given the ball away to win me. Take your shots. Sandra? Western at the top to Muhammed right-wing to Caleb and box. The right quick double team from Purdue. He tries to dribble his way around it and another turnover. It's an offensive foul on Ohio State. He's somebody's really got to talk. He's so Hansie, and he's so big it's impossible the miss, and I don't know what guys think they're going to do in that case. He's dribbling Ebbers looking at who's got the money takes off hand in just books. It's it's inviting a foul call enough, he got Edwards and traffic. Afoul foul. Lied muscles a past Aleppo hunter open for three eighty drills it. And that is the ball goes through the rim, Caleb, western and Matt arms. Both hit the deck Wessons legs runs up of harms momentarily. So he wanted to stop and make sure you didn't get called for a foul or anything like that. Lesson will actually head to the bench right now. Taylor blessing their leading scorer. He's got foul. Trouble. Again. When things go in your way hunter is a twenty two percent three point shooter. He knocks that one down to the wing everything going away on the Boilermakers right now. They're up by six sixteen to one run twenty four to eighteen Purdue and front six forty to play first half here in Columbus. Why did the light Luther Muhammad flips it to the top for Lee hands off in traffic for CJ Jackson? There's it out to Muhammad on the left cross-court pass to Jackson chop fix it offender in hunter in the air. Bribes his way to the paint had his pass deflected by the seven foot three harms it got deflected out towards made port and all the action, Ohio State. Commits yet another file this one. And it's not only the salads a turnover. They tried to run the exact same play where they run that back screen flair for Jackson and instead of shooting at this time he gave up Fagin tried to drive instead he took it right into trouble. And they got a turtle Muhammed. Indeed. His first foul. Here's Purdue up by six they might go back and change it on the drive from the top two feet of the interior for arms. Knee placed Plaisted envoy producers rolling right now. By the way, they did rule that last Ohio State following the D instead of Muhammad, by the way was took a straight down, the gut just laid it in August. There's no shot. There's no rim-protector rim protection down Broadway. Twenty six eighteen Purdue on top ten to shoot for Ohio State, Andre western nearly had it knocked away with covered by the buckeyes on the right wing. Muhammed dribbles towards the corner. Past orange tried to shovel a pass down the baseline jock walk winding down, and it's a shock live violation. I don't know what's happened in the last six and a half minutes. But Ohio State went from rolling to rugged. They part of the problem right now is they don't really have a guy who.

"Five to the Purdue Boilermakers pronounced twelve and six on the season five and two in the big ten that's the most important statistic in their from their perspective because they keep that run going now where they really played their best basketball of the season here in the last seven ball games of the season, Indiana, this contest today falls to twelve and six three and four now below five hundred in big ten play on a four game losing streak. It's going to be tough to bounce back from that, especially considering who Indiana steel has left here in this very tough run here at the beginning of the big ten year. Yeah. It's a good league. Who he is a really competitive league really talented teams big strong physical teams really good coaching in this league. Purdue did a nice job today. Die defensively. Indiana. Did some nice things? I thought Carson Edwards, although he scored twenty points really had to work for his twenty points. He took. Eighteen shots today. Ten three point attempts. I mean, that's just good defense. I think for Indiana, you know, he's gonna get his points. He's a primary driver of this Purdue offense defensively Zach Roberts and Al Durham did some nice things guardian Carson Edwards, but just some of the breakdowns. I think in that second half when Indiana's trying to fight back into this game was able to get some slips to the basket from their bigs. Matt harms was able to score double figures today. He's a guy that doesn't normally score much eastern was able to score. I think in double figures, let me look at that. Yeah. He had all points in the first half of his points in the in the first half. He did some nice things when Carson Edwards wasn't scoring a bunch eastern really stepped in just balanced scoring from this team moving forward. I think it's going to be important for Indiana continued to try to get balanced scoring against these teams. Then a really good defensively against these officials that are gonna let teams play very physical basketball to have multiple guys that can step up and make shots is going to be really important for Indiana to figure out. Durham did some nice things today for Indian off the bench. I think Al had eight points today onto of five shooting. He is a guy throughout this season has shown that he has really stepped up his confidence in his jump shot. He's done some nice things. Now, we gotta get some more consistency. I think from the bench, and now might be that guy that comes in and makes big time shots for Indiana. But across the board, I think to have balanced scoring more than just a couple of guys feel comfortable taking tough shots and really stepping up and making them when gains get tied. I think's going to be more and more important for this Indiana team. How did you think this Indiana ballclub handle the atmosphere here today? I thought Indiana responded pretty well in that first half. I mean, this is a team in Purdue that jumped off to a to a big lead early, and it's easy to shrink in that moment. And I think Indiana responded Whitewell in the first half actually took a three point lead in that first half the trouble here is is in the big ten especially on the road. It's a forty minute battle. And I thought Purdue had the edge in that second half in Indiana was not able to cut down that seven point deficit at halftime. Once you get down double digits here at Macarena, not many teams that come back to fight back, and that type of deficit coach Miller's comments are brought to you by the friendly guys at Royal on the east side Archie, first of all, I know disappointment in that locker room your basketball team falls today to Purdue your thoughts on this. Credit? They made things very hard on us. We knew that was the case. There are very good offense team that executes their stuff. And I staff defense was pretty good. We did a good job rebounded thought. We challenged a lot of tough threes, and we're able to get them, and we're able to hang in the game and Foulon really killed us. You know, it really killed us early in the game. It continued at the end of the half way. Hurt us in the second half when the marches continued to grow and then go give them credit. He'll Carson Edwards is a terrific player. He got going a little bit climb made a couple, and when they make threes there are different team or guys for the most part, I figured last ten eight minutes continued to battle dig in the end of the day. You know, we felt like we could be a lot better as we keep moving forward. But it's deflating when you can't hit free throws Foulon was really really destructive to the to the margin as the game continued to go, and you know, obviously shooting the ball and here wasn't very well today. For us. We gotta get back to work coach, you know, you said this earlier this year, but shooting free throws is contagious. Whether it's one way or the other whether you're making them today, a contagion the wrong word was everybody on wasn't just one guy. Cow got going there a little bit. Maybe the second half made a couple of floors. We couldn't we couldn't get a free throws deal going down there. Go sixteen for sixteen at Maryland. Shooting them a little bit better here recently. But today's today wasn't day behind the line. And you know, we didn't play at our best Romeo. Didn't have one of his obviously bodily worst game of his his young college career. But you're eventually going to go through some of these ups and downs as you go, and you gotta be able to do it as a team, you know, for us. We're just trying to stay with it. We're trying to battle competitively. We played more guys tonight. But we're just not good enough right now in the little things offense. And we're going to have to be able to start to fix some of those problems. One of the bright spots had to be Justin Smith's performance. Well, Justin was good. He played thirty seven minutes. He battled hard defensively. He ends up getting fifteen and six they're all effort related plays in without question. You know, he did a nice job in the game for us Jawad again, fourteen and six today at five assists in this ball game and three steals everywhere. You know, played a ton of minutes, they make things very very difficult on him. Just to catch the ball in the paint. There was a lot of bodies in there. So it wasn't like he had a lot of room to operate. But I thought he did his part for the most part. Yeah. He's gotta come up a little better at Powell line, which which he'll do. Which he'll do next game out. But we need him to stay with it in his leadership. He's a quarter. What we're doing? He obviously impacts the game in a big way. Coach got a quick turnaround. Again you play northwestern on Tuesday. Yep. There's no time to really salt know, we've got to get on this road as fast as we can get these guys back. We gotta start preparing for team that we've already had a hard fought game with in clearly going to their place won't be easy. Coach thanks for joining us on the post game show here..

"A late. When before I was good one. Michigan state beat Purdue seventy seven fifty nine and a good old slugfest defense ruled today, but MSU got going late over the last six twenty nine our official guy say the Boilermakers denounced gray single fill got some free throws. They made no buckets and great defense was played against an all American. Carson Edwards season-low eleven points. Only had five in the first half. So great job down there by MSU against a heck of a basketball player in the last five forty-three in this game. It was an eleven one run by MSU to put it away. He was I I was nervous for a while. Now so nervous now. Yeah. No Purdue was was was really closing things down in. There was there was a key stretch. There were Nick ward picked up his fourth foul was a hook and hold which meant it was a flagrant one foul. So Matt harms sp- split four free throws. Michigan state was able to to draw foul on the on the last rebounds. Tillman came down the other way made two free throws in Michigan state. Didn't look back from there. And I think you might be surprised who this who this was Nick work. No close. I mean, you're you're kind of in the right space of the floor. Kenny was Kenny going who was one short of a career high insists he had he had six assists. Sneakily close to a triple double seven points, eleven rebounds, six assists for for for Kenny going sued. So Kenny was able to to get four offensive rebounds and two and a lot of those offensive rebounds turned into two passes out for threes. I felt like five or six times we were we were saying offensive rebound, three offensive rebound three and Kenny go inside the head a lot to do with that. So so I'll make Kenny goings, my my guy that is the delivery of the game by we also had three blocks to two steals. Yeah. Just a pretty good. Yeah. Doing a great job on statue tonight.
