But I saw more of him when he was playing at the NCA in the NCA during his first two years there. And honestly, I think that one of the things that helps his case for being able to move up more readily is just his size. He's a big kid, he's 6 four, ways like two tens, so you're kind of looking at a Derrick forber size. Obviously he's not doesn't have the experience necessarily, but I mean you look at him compared to some of the smaller guys that either are still growing because they're in college and they maybe didn't do juniors or for whatever reason they're just smaller and haven't grown yet. He has size going for him and I also think that he, even as a freshman, you sort of saw that he has an offensive mindset that I think is lacking in a lot of the options right now for the bruins, except for personally, I think Matt grizzly really has it going, but obviously what the future holds across the board for our defensemen is unclear. So in that sense, I don't see it being terribly far off. I can see him getting time this year, especially given the cap situation and just where our options are at. But I'm feeling optimistic about it. I think that there's a lot to like about his game. I think that experience is going to help a lot. But you know, it's not like there haven't been really successful players that have jumped right in into the playing in the NHL and have not succeeded even if they haven't had all the

These are actual hockey media people that are talking putting some of this crap out there. So, you know, gold read the athletic or goal listen to the fan 5 90 in Toronto. When an actual fact, you should be listening to this podcast and get the real stuff. I was going to say, is it just the fact that the Canadians hate the bruins? Canadian, you know, media people just they hate the bruins, whether they going back to going back to Mike millbury or going back to Bobby Orr or I don't know, Steve. I really don't know because Jack Edwards. I honestly don't know what it is because the bruins actually have a very good following in Canada. You go to Atlanta, Canada, the bruins are huge, man. Yep. You know, I lived three years in Vancouver, British Columbia, and yeah, it's Vancouver country, but the number of bruins fans that are run into there. Unbelievable. I can tell you that the fans are spread throughout the country. So with the exception of leaf fans and canuck fans, it's not the fans that are saying it. It's the media. Even habs fans, you know, I respect Montreal Canadian fans, I have as much respect for them as anybody because they understand the game and whether they may not like it or not. They know that this bruins team is on a historical run and they're not going to put a crap out there about them because they're on it. They're going to respect them for it. That's right. And I will let you go first. Vacation man. Who is your number one player you think will bounce back? Is that coming year? And I say vacation man in a good way. I don't mean that. Oh, God. Skipping out on work, you know? You deserve. You deserve a fun week in New Orleans and Austin. Let me be the first to tell you that. Thank you very much, Evan. In terms of the first guy who I think could bounce back this upcoming season, I'm gonna go with Matt grizzly, who obviously I think is a very divisive player, I think there's the narrative going around that he's a net negative in the playoffs or he's a flawed player. And again, he's got certain strengths and weaknesses that can be exploited, but I kind of think you look at his overall body of work in terms of what he brings in terms of his strengths with transition game, probably being the second most reliable offensive presence on the blue line for the bruins. And the fact that also he was dealing with a shoulder injury since what was that like January?

Because if you imagine what he could have ended up doing, I mean, what he did in just a short time with the bruins, but what he would have done over 5 6 more years would have been incredible. And you wonder what that means for krejci or bergeron or rich or Chris Kelly, but I mean it meant for those guys going forward, but anyways, I'm Evan Marino ski. That is Connor Ryan, Connor. And we will start with kind of the latest on the injury front because now you've got three bruins who you're kind of worried about in the sense of hampus lentil macros like and David past are not Bruce Cassidy spoke after practice on Tuesday and didn't really give any new updates on them. Said, I thought both would be a little farther along by this time. So they didn't play Tuesday night, obviously. Doesn't feel like they'll play Thursday either. Does feel like Matt grizzly could play Thursday. What is the latest on those guys? Yeah, as you said, I think grizzly seems to be the one who's closest to a return. It seems like it's something that he's been dealing with most of the year in terms of its more just managing and Cassidy mentioned that grizzly email he's taken his fair share of hits. It's something that he's battled through before and it tends to bounce back pretty quickly that looks bad and then kind of gets back out there. So they're not overly concerned with him. Obviously I think if you go into a playoff series, you have to be worried about just how much he's going to hold up there, but I think you saw in that game against the capitals on scientists how valuable he is. So hopefully he's back sooner rather than later. And then for us we're not going to, yeah, not. Not exactly that great, right? Can you imagine? I mean, both those guys were skating. They stayed on the road trip. So you imagine, all right, a few days off for them, get them back. Hopefully at some point in the next starting this home stand. I believe Steve Conroy, the Herald said that both pastrnak and Wendell were out there earlier today on Tuesday before a morning skate. So that's encouraging. But it seems almost like they've mapped out their recovery. And it's like, all right, they're getting here. And they've kind of just plateaued a little bit before they get the green light to get back out there, which as you said, Bruce castle a little bit further along or it's taken a little bit longer than they expected. Also out of that, just a long term issue. So if you're the bruins, obviously I think you'd probably like a little bit more clarity or of course have them back out there, especially you look at just some of these matchups coming down the stretch here, whether it's the blues, you got the penguins coming to town..

"This other guy is still really good. So that's not Boston how they do not exactly have A handful of top prospects the Sabres could choose from No there have. They haven't had great draft lately. And you know, they've also been in it right so pretty much every year, the last three or four years, so they've traded a bunch of their first round picks of the deadline. They haven't had first round picks in some of these drafts, so you know they're covered is not overflowing. With prospects ready to contribute at the NHL level. Tanika is one of their best prospects. There's no doubt about it. He rolled back in nine, is a former first round pick a defenseman. He really hasn't panned out to this point. I don't think he's at his highest level prospect wise. Um, you know, Jack feature is, uh, is still in college, So you know he's not ready to contribute as a former first round pick. Um, you know, I don't think they have the talent in the prospects that a lot of other teams do. Their best young players are at the NHL level. I don't think there was any way whatsoever that the Bruins would trade Charlie McAvoy or David Posture neck in the Jack Eichel deal, so you know Just don't know that they comparatively speaking have the kind of assets that other teams are going to do to get the deal done. You're just one question ahead of me all the time, Joe. I'm very impressed. You're stealing my next question all time, but hey, before I get to that, um Stanek is the center. Did you say Yeah, He's the center. Um, still needs to fill out physically, not strong enough to handle the NHL level last year. I think they're hoping now he's in the you know, young 2022 range 22 years old ranch. So maybe now, next year is going to be a year He's going to start to push. Um, And that's like I think the grand design the Bruins had going into this past season was it was the last year of Cray Cheese deal. Um, you know, they would bring stead Nikko along a little bit last year. Get his feet wet. And then maybe have a year of Charlie Coyle is the number two center. You know this coming season if they weren't going to resign crazy and then bring instead, nickel to be the third line center. But he didn't really show enough that he's going to be ready this next season. Maybe he does a ton of work and gained some strength over the the summer and you know all of a sudden pops next year, but I think it kind of changed their plans a little bit. That's Tanika wasn't ready yet. They still think he's going to be A top, uh, nine center in the NHL, and I've heard comparison to scouts. I've talked to Anthony Cirelli. That's the player they mentioned. That technique is kind of like, um, so we'll see. But you know, I don't know that he's going to be a top flight number one center in the NHL either. Yeah, I was curious about. You know, maybe that that the tweener if you will not necessarily the prospects that haven't been there yet, But young guys who are either they're now maybe have had a little bit of playing time have been in the minors as well. Because the Sabres Joe, they're going to be going with a lot of you know, 21 22 23 year olds, not that iculs old, but that early twenties group is going to be their core going forward. Is there anybody Posture knocks a little bit older, but not old. But is there anybody on the Bruins in that early twenties? That maybe even has a little bit of time? And they would say, you know, that's a guy you should want to go get if your buffalo Well, yes, Jake DeBrusk would be the guy. Um, that would be the guy if they were going to trade somebody in their early twenties. These 23 now, um he has a 27 gold season on his resume at the NHL level. I think that's a guy they would definitely use as a trade ship. If if the Sabres are looking for young NHL roster players still not too expensive, uh, contract wise, he's still in the R F a Land, so he's not commanding huge money definitely had it down the year this year, but he's proven that he can score in the league of the former first round pick and the thing with him like and I view a lot of guys like this across the league. He's one of those guys in his early twenties doesn't have a family single guy. I think a lot of those guys struggled last year because of the covid restriction because they were, you know, lonely and I think mentally its control on them that they really had nothing to do because of the restrictions outside of being at the rank. They had no family to go home to them. They just We're going home to nothing when they went home at night. And they couldn't go out and do anything. So I think a lot of those guys struggled mentally and off the ice and you know, just to be in a good place every single day, and I think he's definitely one of those guys. So you kind of primed and ready for a bounce back year, and he definitely has the talent to do it. The issue with him. He can score, but he hasn't shown that he's going to be able to impact a lot of other places around the ice. Besides scoring when he doesn't score, he doesn't do a lot for you. So you know, that's kind of the the book on him right now, Joe Final thing for you, Um, when you you know Burns officers still considering themselves Cup contenders. If we go back to the old division, you've got the cup champion there. Montreal was an average hockey team, but they made a run. You've got Florida you got Toronto, though. You know they can't win in the postseason. I guess I'm getting to how desperate or how anxious would Boston What did what do you think they need to add? First and foremost And how? How Aggressive. Would they be trying to pursue a potential Eichel deal or even Sam Reinhart? Yeah, I think they need a left side defenseman. That's really their biggest need. Um, you know they didn't resign Zdeno Char and Torey Krug going into last season and they tried to go with young guys. Young kids on the left side. And it really found a really good partner. Um for Charlie McAvoy in the top pairing. They even need a top pair left side defenseman or middle pair left side defenseman, depending on where they're going to put Matt Grizzly, but I don't view him as a top pair guys, so they really need A guy that can handle 20. Plus minutes tonight, play in all situations on the left side. A guy that can bring some offense moved the park and can, you know? Play well in the D Zone block shots just, you know, be your all around really good defenseman. That's really their biggest need..

"After signing a four year deal in the offseason with the Bees defenseman Matt Grizzly has had a tough time staying on the ice this season, only playing in six of the teams 19 games. Grizzly is expected to play tonight for the first time since February 10th and spoke today about trying to come back from injury again has been easily last couple times, China come back, So I just wanna get through this game, and you know, at the same time I want to make sure that I'm not just out there toe waste space. I want to be out there and make an impact on the game and feeling like I'm healthy enough to do so.
