"At what's happening to these Democrats run cities and then discussed them. They see what's going on on. They can't believe this is taking place in our country. I can't believe it either. It's a national crisis. We need real leadership that will bring everyone to the table through the systemic racism. Both President Trump and then candidate Joe Biden would visit Kenosha, Wisconsin. After the national spotlight on destruction cane when small town blue collar America went up in flames in August after another police shooting never black man who was seen on video resisting arrest is making sense to tap your own community that wants out wasn't hurt. That's underway. Can't continue. This country is in a very thin edge of falling apart police chiefs and sheriffs across the country. Report thousands of protests almost 600 arsons and declared riots. Thousands of cases of looting 100 police cars destroyed and 2000 police officers hurt. As unrest continues today in embattled cities like Portland, Oregon, in still the greatest country on Earth America Fox News is Matt Finn joins us here on one of the many protests that you covered mad across the country throughout the year. You were there in Minneapolis. Not just as a reporter, but as an American. So much destruction so much violence with a mix of emotions. What was it like watching that city burn? You know it was devastating. At one point, there was so much destruction and so many fires major fires burning in a large American city that My Fox news team and I, we were driving around in the car just trying to we're following basically the smoke stacks. You also covered riots and unrest in Louisville and in Portland, which continues its own battle for safe streets. Who are these people in your experience? Do they really want justice or the agitators? Opportunists in how organized for some of these protests that you covered? No, Jeff some in Seattle and Portland heavily organized. Well, I was in Seattle where you know some people. What do you want to call them? Protesters? Riders criminals. They poured, you know, cement inside of locks in one of the police precinct and then try to light the precinct on fire. So they essentially tried to burn people behind. You know that's organized. That is not a bunch of kids. There were rocks in the window. You know, that's not spray painting the part of a police precinct. I mean, that is a criminal act that literally could have cost lives that is organized in Portland. Same thing I mean, and this is all documented. It is night after night, there was an incident one night where a bunch of writers a bunch of criminals They gathered around the base of the mayor's condominium tower. They smashed through some of the storefronts there, lit a fire at the base of the tower essentially again, could have let a lot of kind of it is on fire could have killed a lot of people. Actually, another viral moment in Minneapolis was this gentleman was watching his shopping plaza that he owns. You know, being being burned, being pilfered, and so he trolled down a live TV on he, you know, did its best to try to stop it, But he himself said I was watching this. I was watching this on TV. I guess it is seen in an office and I see people weaving in and out of the demonstrations. And those are also the people that you have to ask, Why are they here? Is this anything to do with freedom of speech? Anything to do with, you know movement, or they just trying to take advantage of a situation where they can loot where they could steal where they can cause chaos. Did it seem to people that you talk to that America is really that divided. One of the things that had over and over again in Kenosha in Minneapolis in Portland is what good does that do to destroy? You know your neighbors business? You know your friend's business. And I think, you know, and in places like Minneapolis, you have to ask how many of those were black owned. However, there in you and I know there are extremists on both side. Peaceful protest do exist a lot of these situations. There are people you know, exercising their freedom of speech. They are demonstrating they they have. Have a cause, and they had a belief and they're trying to. You know they're trying to get their message out. And that's a beautiful thing. You know, That's that's the beauty of America. But then what happens is, you know unfortunate things go sour, and I also do believe that many outlets really set the tone for a lot of the unrest in Portland in Seattle, you even though that has been ongoing, but keep on the outside, looked in and said, Wow, you know, those guys were able to You write so much right and destroy somebody businesses. They were able to take down a police precinct. But I think we could do that, too. And that is a scary element in America and coming up. Fox is Evan Brown takes a look at some of the other major stories of 2020, including devastating storms and fires and an American milestone in space. Hindsight, 2020 remembering.
