"Who live on this thursday joined by florida senator. Rick's got chair of the national republican. Senatorial committee in the man is going to lead to the new majority returning to leader. Mcconnell's control at november twenty twenty two election morning. Rick scott how are you. Good morning i think. Joe biden is He must be on our payroll because everything he doing is disgusting. The voters in this country is absolutely a wrecking. Whatever is a wrecking ball. I had a chance to spend a couple of hours yesterday. With adam laxa. Who's an old friend of mine. And i sat down with attorney general accent the former attorney general in nevada. He says he's in nevada. That makes me happy that puts that on the board in a real way. Do you agree with me. That nevada's play halloween. You stop and think about this way. Cortez masto only won by two percent four years ago. She's not distinguish yourself. She's not done anything to help. The country earn are on and then it and adami accepts well-known successful attorney general. We have other people in the here too but if you look at the generic ballot in this country in the battleground states. We're way up. So i think we're going to have a big win in nevada. Now senator cortez masto. I asked adams friend. Mike with them to show me a picture of her. I may have sat next to her in a restaurant. I've never seen her on tv. I haven't seen her in washington. As far as i know. She's an illusion. Is she actually got anything done in the united states senate. I don't know anything she's done. I never see her. I never hear from you know my first two years when we were in the majority i you know i had to preside over the senate a few hours a week. I never saw her talk. I don't know what she does. I've got a list of four where we've gotta take the seat. One is new hampshire to georgia. Three zero zona four nevada. And they're all in the top chair. We gotta take each of those seats while we defend pennsylvania and ohio and missouri. How do you feel about the magnificent. Seven seats senator scott. I think we're going to get them. And here's why in arizona. It's still a republican state. We have four candidates already in. I still think doug ducey. We'll get into the rates next year In doug won his last race in two thousand eighteen fifteen points. But i think any one of these five individuals will be mark kelly. We're doing everything we can to explain. He is not not a moderate he most one hundred percent of the way. Chuck schumer says in georgia. Raphael is a marxist. I mean he's doug jones of this cycle. There's no way he should win and a he will win. We've got great people in this race herschel walker discarded in the race. Who looks like he's in bleed right down. Our we've got a navy seal Tim sadly we got a businessman and veteran kelvin king. We got the ex-minister gary block. Great candidates in we will win. I think adam locks out or got two hundred people in the race. Captain sam brown and businesswoman terrell mendenhall in that race. We will win there. Everybody knows christner new. Give him a call. Two public polls show. Chris would win by eight point so giving the way the bowling tilts democrat. That means he'd win by double digits going away. Yeah i mean half has already so worried is put a television ad up now. I mean you're in one thousand votes for years ago and she's not done anything. Distinguish yourself in christner new has been a wonderful governor now they have a republican legislature. This state is going to go republican I think it be kristen. New here's told me he's going to run but i hope he does know senator. I'm going over to ohio and a couple of weeks to moderate a debate among six great republican candidates. And i mean every one of the matt dolan just got in the race. He's a good guy. I i know them all. And i know tim. Ryan is a formidable democrat. I don't get involved in contested. Primaries or any of the six can win. I'm going to endorse locks. Because he's my friend. I know he's going to win. George i don't know yet. I will be behind chris new. I'm not getting involved in arizona. Tell me a little. I know i know mark burnett very well though and i think he's ed right now but tell me a little bit about ohio because with six great candidates and six big piles of money. The danger there is that they set the house on fire. And tim. tim ryan arrives with the firetruck. Well here's what's great him right and has an opponent she's a bernie sanders support. Morgan harper. All right so tim right. It's not gonna be able to run a race. He's not a moderate. He's a far lefty but he's not gonna be able to run a racist they moderate And we have wonderful people. I mean we've got great candidates in our side And you know one of them will get through the primary. And they're gonna they're gonna win. They're gonna win the general election here. It's a republican state And you know tim ryan and the whether it's too minor market harper. They're gonna have. They're going to be defined so far towards the bernie sanders. There is no way they will win in ohio. Now you know. I've known him for thirty years. He and i went to the same roman catholic highschool pre. Are you going to try and elect the socialist. Because it's pretty hard to paint tim as a radical member of the squad. You know start at quarterback at youngstown state. That's not really where the marxist gathered still vote with with nancy. Pelosi if you look at this if you look around the country these democrats. They vote with nancy. Pelosi anti would not get elected statewide. Ohio one hundred percent and georgia. You really do have a marxist with raphael warning. It's just that there are different kinds of democrats and some are easier to beat than others. I don't know where cortez masters. Because i actually. I have no idea what she does. She's invisible to wherever schumer tells you. Do now senator. That brings me. That brings me to the key thing. I wrote in the post yesterday that not one. Republican would support the budget. That's coming over with a debt hike. Attached they will not support a debt hike relief standing alone. They won't vote for dad. Hide seal the democrats broke. They bought it. They need to fix it with a budget. New budget amendment. Is that your position. Absolutely they have the white democrats have the white house to house myths in it right. They don't want any of our involvement with all their radical spending which we shouldn't be and so they want to raise the debt ceiling. They wouldn't do it on their own. They've been very clear they don't wanna do this on their own because they know it's toxic. I'm they don't want to act like it is and so we want you to be part of our What we're doing here. You know what they really want to do if they wanna suspend it so they never have to talk about how much it is. You know their budget in the steel three three and a half which is really five trillion dollars. We'll take her debt to forty five trillion dollars that let's look at what's happening families right now with inflation. It's hurt our poorest families and are families on fixed income and the democrats are causing all this their spending and they don't wanna be responsible for it. They are responsible for what's going on..

He didn't actually say that, but it's uh this is what he is more or less saying. Seeking to bring a more traditional voice to a field of Republicans who want to emulate former President Donald Trump. So is that a put down is what he's what is he saying there Because he's saying I'm gonna establishment right now. I'm Rob Portman light. That's what he's saying. I don't I don't know why he's wasting our time with this. The other part that why is he wasting his time saying Um, you know, the Republicans who want to emulate a guy who won Ohio by almost nine points? Yeah, that's the thing I don't know. It's like if if Trump was not popular in the state of Ohio I guess I could under. When are these people going to learn there? Apparently not. Dude. I will become senator before Matt Dolan does. I promise you, he said, I'm the only one with the experience. I'm the only one that has taken smart and serving principles and produce results for the state of Ohio. He is the latest Republican enter the race. Um Josh Mandel, J. D. Vance, Jane Temkin, Bernie Marino and Mike Gibbons are the other ones. Tim Ryan. You representative Tim Ryan, which I think Was He the one that said he announced he had covid today. He got the jab, but the road is still got him. Got him Breakthrough case, you know, Imagine that. Hey, there's social customs that you know once in a while, these these little articles come out and I am like, you know, some of the things on this list really have Um meaning, and I agree with a lot of these as far as social customs people want retired. Um And you know the one that they start with? I certainly am okay with expensive funerals. Do you understand? You know, and I'm sorry to bring that. I mean, you're you. You're fresh off of this $12,000 to bury my mom. So the funeral industry It's insanity. What they charge for this right? It was you want them you want them to handle? I mean, you get how you want them treated with dignity and handled, you know, appropriately and so on. But I just I just feel like these really, really expensive. Funeral. It's it's over the top. Listen, my mom, my mom to win a lot more, I think could have got a whole. You're kidding me. Right? You could probably 100,000. No problem, right? Oh, my God. Yeah, if you wanted to, and then time you figure in how big of a headstone and monument you want to the person? Yeah. Yeah, No, I think it was like 11 5 with tax after everything that my brother and I had to cover, and that's going to probably be and nothing against you. It's not an indictment. That's probably what in the middle to lower the low it was in the upper. Okay, so if there's three tiers if there's it's right on the line between lower and middle I wanted to be night. We, my brother, and I wanted it to be nice and respectful. I wanted her to look beautiful. I wanted her. I wanted the casket to look nice. Well on top, Not one of her future. I promise you she was thinking, Joshie. Thank you for giving me the funeral that fits my life. I know that my heart well, and on top of that, it's your in a you're in a not so good state of mind when you're picking this stuff out. That's just it, man. You're emotionally vulnerable. And I'm not saying and I'm we. We had her funeral back in pick would that's That's where I grew up. This one from Um uh, I I'm not saying they tried to manipulate us, but I've heard horror stories. When I was going through the process of getting advice, People go listen. They're going to prey on your emotional vulnerability and say, Oh, this is what your mom would want this that people were warning me and I feel bad. So some of these Social customs people want retired, expensive funerals. I have to agree with that. Um, sleep deprivation pride, So they say, I don't know why my coworkers both. I only slept four hours. There's nothing. Yeah. I don't get that either. Um, not talking about salary. I disagree with that. I think that should be continue to be a social custom. Um, people don't want I mean, why are you going to talk? Especially with you're going to talk with co workers about that, so you don't want them to start? Placing that I mean, as far as you know. Oh, you make that have a lot of you go around real good and big corporations. I have this cough, but I came to work anyway. I'm so dedicated to my career. Totally agree with that coming into work. Well first i. How did you get into being a stuntman. What when. I was a kid like ten years old. I was at all. I wanna do after seeing a john wayne movie. I think it was doing stuff like jumping mini bikes jumping off my grandmother's roof. Just praising stuff and you. I want to do early on. I got a chance to do it. The assad about seventeen double madeline picture in boston. Why that's why grow up. I was doing crazy stuff. My friend a movie theater now. Helping him A hang myself upside down caught myself on fire than jump through the windows of santer. The news came down and covered it. that's dumb ass. At the time it was actually real glass. That went through came down coveted as a producer of washington at night. So tyrone so. You've got my number off. The news called me up today. I- senior Yourself on five. Gonna matt dolan picture here in boston and You won't come down to a burn for the picture and germs arrest dotted did Couple movies in boston then moved to la like eighteen down. What in your mind made you say. I'm gonna go do this stunt. I don't know i just back. Then i was was old was the old style. They is ahead. The recall the orchestra. Chad moves up. Top the calm the boost. The old wounds were so i used to practice jumping off the his the second level booth and i had the clear the authors pit and had some past linden mattresses designed to land you know. So that's how i trained myself. They basically doing high falls in the big staircase stare. Follows there you know. that's i started. That's awesome today. Did you ever watch That movie what was that movie. With andy sandberg. Where he's trying to be as stuntman. Run hot rod You ought to watch it. It's a serenely. it's so funny. It's extremely exaggerated. I think it's more more aimed towards like evil knievel type thing but he doesn't feel you stuff in it. Check that out. It's pretty good. So so what was what was like an average day like when you were doing that type of work in the eighties and nineties. I was pretty busy. I mean sometimes. I was coordinating two or three shows at the same time. Literally leave the house. I remember the house. Once on a monday hunted. Following sunday. I went for movie to movie. Movie chats and sleep in their dressing rooms as up. that'd be a one movie in the morning another movie. You have to do another movie at night. A date for me back then would be doing a car. Jump for one movie. Then you wanna pipe. Ramparts is a cost growth. Flip for another movie. The doing a burn for another movie that night sights change. It was pretty hectic back in the eighties. That's crazy so go ahead. Josh right so when i eat. Imdb a puts out that you're director of the mighty morphin power rangers For the tv series. Is that like stunt director or like full on director calls the phone director. What had happened was also that canadian. I started drinking a lot of second. Unit is because a lot of directors do not direct action back then and they relied on meet right the action scenes in the movies in direct them and i had a friend. Ron dot who produce power outages. I got hurt. And i went out and breaking my first movie action. Usa and came back in came a little bit of a cult following. Turn out good. So he gave me a movie to direct this first union director Called contel and then he came up with a series idea sabban For power outages. He wanted me to come in and Direct you know the series at the beginning. No i didn't. I hired actually jeff. Pruitt was a karate coordinator coming to do all my light stuff do second unit and i do i unit. That's pass so you learn a lot of that type of league action scenes. You have to learn a lot about it so it's really cool. Yeah you too. And i went to film school but i just learned lenses cameras fees in angles and y time. Doing some chase stuff. I have six cameras going and you know we did. We did speedway cold stale. I had thirty race cars with real race car drivers and then i had another twenty thirty stunt people in a couple hundred extras Appraise stuff in that movie. I six cameras going all at one time all the time. And that's one thing to you about these action movies if if shit doesn't go right and you have to replace a car but did that happen a lot like you had to replace scenes the clinton in cars while a allow cameras because what i would do this one company. I would measure out where the camera or the cairo was gonna land. Where i thought was gonna lay. And i pretty good at it and i put the camera a sixteen millimeter. I mean i'm okay. My thirty five million. But i'm okay an crash fox they are and i would measure out and get the of corkscrewing through the area jumping flash right into it and those are the kinds of shots using on on. You don't wanna trailers you know for the movies. So was one show. I think i can't mccown country of tests at me. Because i was reading mike and i'm oh a day you know and i went up now in a produce sound like these money shots from eleven will pay for them you know so now They'll get good shots that's kick ass especially get the green light to go ahead and do that now. I don't i don't want to make you. You feel old and there. You said that your old. I don't wanna make you feel old. But i do want to say binge watch the hell of power rangers. When i was young. I watched the really about his watching damn showing. I started doing it. Universal how to stay alive with parents. And i just want some news. Footage is funny because we're like eleven. Am friday morning and they want us to live appearance up there so as coming out of one dollars block up. It was shut down. We had to get off and go through sidestreets and then we're trying to get that engine universal in l. a. Goes up big. Ill the fifty thousand people there at the front gate and i said to the police. That lineup sounds like opportunity up and postseason, doesn't it? Yeah, done because last year they finished fourth in the Central Division. You got Winker Akiyama. And all these and Jankowski and you gotta want a wonderful bench so David Bell could just put the puzzle together every day, and it's a strong line up. Welcome to the building. You didn't think I was calling you 3 15 and an afternoon, did you? Well, it said unknown on here. I don't know. That's never good. No, I know you're not that busy. Not much going on. And so the ham. What does it mean, though Mike DeWine, a lifelong Reds baseball fan that threw out the first pitch in tonight's game. Well, it's great. This is the second time I've been able to do it. I did it when the 0 12 13 years ago. In fact, I I bragged that it may not have been a strike, but, uh LaRue caught caught it and ah didn't have to dig it out of much dirt, so we'll never hit the dirt. So I was very happy and it was actually across the plate, but it was a little low. I must tell you, however, however, That this virtual pitch was we did this yesterday morning We went out Cedarville University. They were very kind to let us use their beautiful Ballpark. Ah, and we went out there and I had for my grandkids out there and Fran. I were out there and I threw the first pitch and I believe The wind got it, And I think it will get too. Since Matty around. What, 6 30 Maybe you better get it by 6 11th pitches, six. Tent's a better 60 Well, it better. It better come down. I just hope that whoever catches it protected me and makes it look like a good pitch. That's all I care about. Did you think about you know when I baseball heaven segment was the catcher? I had the express. I had lower Charles. I had Uncle Charlie. I had knuckles. I had the slider I had I had the curve. I had it all going to screw. But what pitched What kind of pitched it your grandson call? It was a fastball how fast it went with the beat. And, Yeah, I try to go try to go with the heat. But I tell you, I got a I got a confession. Confession is when I got the Cedarville literally a pitching coach for Cedarville University was there. Oh, yeah. So I added, Help me. I said, come on, come out to the mound. I stood on the mound. I don't You know, none of this coming up close to the plate, And then when I stood on the mound And he showed me how to do this, so we'll see. We'll see. Helen arrives at six o'clock or whatever time it coming out of out of the air out of Allah, the all good things so you know there's something about Opening day. That's always great. But this year, no parade. Ah, and we're not there now usually usually usually go down with the My brother in law's and go down with my buddy from from high school. And we have a We always have a great great time. Usually a son Lord to patch usually they're well. So we always have a great time. This will be a little different, little just slightly home. And you know I was I was I was talking Tio. To a center Matt Dolan a few minutes ago, I had something to calling the bounty Chris. He's he's of the Dolan family that owns the Indians. And I said, You know, you know. For a Cleveland to you. You know, you guys have had been pretty cold opening days. So maybe this into bad people. It's 19. But you know, whenever someone throws out an opening pitch, Marty Brennaman wanted to know whether you throw from 60 feet six inches or cheat up a little bit. Can you government like did you throw it from the runner on the rubber pushed off the rubber? You gotta do it. You gotta do it on the mound. You cannot that No, no, no, no. Can't can't Can't. She did the ball get there on a fly. It did. It was not a strike. So I'm going to admit that, but I hope it was ever catch. It makes it look like a strike empire. That's all I'm hoping for. Because I I couldn't hit the plate, man. Let me tell you, but it did not bounce and ah Like there's been about 12 years since I threw out the first pitch. And, you know, I guess my aim is not as good as it was then. But, uh, anyway, this is great. Baseball is back. Ah, How much fun is that? I tell you what? Well, one thing is governor. It's gotta be better than Mark Mallory or Dr Faulty last night watching goodness gracious. Is it better to know Tom and I watched it I watched that one with the poor doc. I don't think he warmed up much. That's all you know. You gotta warm up a little bit. There you go. You know, I warmed up with with Ah, you know, Grand kids or kids last time. I think I've warmed up with my my son, Mark and You know, Come on, let's warm up before I go out there. I would tell you experience when you walk out there is you can imagine. Aah! And you know you gotta get a ballpark will not like Not yesterday. But the last time I did it, and it's a little intimidating, man, it's like you like you say I'm gonna make a complete idiot of myself or just the partial idiot of myself. "Alert first responders in real time about the kind of internal injuries they may find in a car crash it's called M. DeGaulle based in Tel Aviv it's a story by Matthew Dolan automotive reporter at the Detroit Free Press matter explain yeah it's it's pretty fascinating at the start up that's based in Tel Aviv and in Israel and their idea is that cars themselves actually collect a lot of information about the passengers inside of them but that information is not necessarily process in a way that could help first responders and so the idea is not to actually sense what happens to a particular driver or passenger in a car but is to measure how quickly a vehicle it's been going or even how quickly vehicles been stopping in a crash and from that information use what they call big data about medical injuries and figure out what what kind of damage could that due to the body and especially the focus on internal injuries because one of the challenges for the first responders is how we diagnose the interest that we can't yet see and so that's sort of the model of what they're trying and now they've gotten some early investment from Volvo in from Monday so ideally though I'm guessing a car could be able to relay whether or not it was a rear ending or T. bone right to go along with that based on perhaps the way airbag deployed or not necessarily right yeah so there there is a variety of different sensor information that is available to the automatic back first and then they have a variety of ways of connecting that information back to their own companies so I would say that there are a couple things happening right now one the majority of vehicles that are coming off subway lines today are what we call connected vehicles that wouldn't necessarily apply to an older vehicle but the newer vehicles coming out are connected then the question is what kind of sensors do they have this sensor this technology from this M. Diego company relies on accelerometer data which is essentially how fast and how quickly you stop and they think that's important because the gravity forces on the body can be they they can sort of come to an estimate of what kind of force there is based on how quickly the vehicles going how quickly it stopped so what the the type of actions that you've talked about you know whether or not it be a T. bone or roll over that information by some companies is known and that can help but let me put a little wrinkle into it which is that one of the things that automakers had been able to figure out as if through technologies such on Starz whether or not that GM when they're not vehicles involved in a rollover but the folks that MD go had told me that there really is a big difference between a high speed roll over at a low speed roll over in terms of what kind of injuries that could mean for driver and passenger overall and so you know often it's not necessarily always just the type of accident or in terms of how we respect interest but the speed in which the vehicles going since Matt Matt Dolan at the Detroit Free Press thirty minutes after.

"B. Favor F. A. B. E. R. It you don't WanNa miss it. In Twenty Twenty Ohio will hold its primary on March seventeenth that happens to be Saint Patrick's Day and it has some Democrats up in arms about the change. This date has been in the works since June when it was placed any spending Bill Ohio Republicans lukens needed to have the date be after March fifteenth in order to allow Ohio to award all of its delegates a winner-take-all style in the Republican primary so they pick the seventeenth put that in the bill the bill passed unanimously and the rest is history except now Democrats Batra pointing out that on Saint Patrick's Day especially in cities like Cleveland. It's really hard to move around the city and get to certain polling places Cleveland routinely draws hundreds of thousands to its parade and they drink Republicans pointed <music> out and I think correctly that Ohio's early voting system allows twenty eight days or early voting prior to that voting day deadline still Democrats counter that the timing of the primary is a problem because lots of people don't use early voting plus. It's unlikely that there will being meaningful Republican primary at all this year so any lack of turnout would hurt Democrats while not affecting Republicans at all anyway part of the Democratic argument is on Saint Patrick's Day many downtown polling places are closed or otherwise inaccessible all due to parade Route Security Democrats are currently considering how to handle this whether to change polling places which risks confusion or try to change the date somehow Republicans note again with a totally valid point the Ohio primary this year falls. Falls in the exact same day as those in Arizona Florida and Illinois and somehow all those states managed to both drink and vote so why should Ohio beanie different there is a long shot proposal on the table to move the primary in Ohio back to March twenty eighty four but that seems extremely unlikely given that the spending bill has already passed and there is little incentive for Republicans to want to change it Senate Finance Chair Matt Dolan did the math and noted that if that change happens it moves the due date for paperwork to be in the primary to Christmas Eve which presents its own problems. I'll be it for a much smaller number of people. I'll keep you posted if the Ohio primary moves but for all of your high winds listening I encourage you to vote early and spend Saint Patrick's Day doing something else <music> and last today here's a topic that will return to in future weeks but I want to highlight for you as we head into the weekend. Maybe it's something you can think about as you drift off to sleep. Counting policies like sheep as they a jump over the fence one of the biggest actual differences on policy in the current field pass to do with healthcare specifically you have a small group of candidates who support Medicare for all in the form of a bill introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders and then you have all the people who really hate that specific bill bill and see it as a potential election loser for the party. They're also a few candidates KINDA SORTA in the middle like Harris who co-sponsored the sanders bill and claim to support it but has gone back and forth several times. There's a link in the show notes for more on that. If you're curious you can essentially really divide the candidates into two camps the Medicare for all group and the ad a public option to obamacare group in the first debates we saw that now famous show of hands in which moderators asked which candidate supported ending private healthcare insurance as we know it in favor of a government it run healthcare system. Here's who raised their hands de Blasio Harris Sanders and Warren Harris almost immediately walked at back leaving us with three candidates who seem to be truly on board with the Sanders Bill and one who's a question mark this this leaves us with the field where two of the top four candidates support the Medicare for all bill as written by Sanders. If you're curious about the details that bill go check out the episode of this show from April twelfth titled All about Medicare for all the sanders bill is genuinely complex complex as as recline vox pointed out in an article analyzing the bill focusing on the private insurance thing is not very meaningful unless you examine the rest of the proposal check the show notes for finer points there to regardless of whether you support Medicare for all it's a great read lead on Wednesday at an A._a._R._p.. Form in Cedar Rapids Colorado Senator Michael Bennett argued that Medicare for all would lose Democrats the election. Here's a clip of what he said. The issue is not Bernie the issues Medicare for all the issue is we're GonNa have a whole Bunch of Democrats follow very off the cliff year and lose the election to Donald Trump. That's the issue and I think that we should not follow Bernie off the cliff and instead what we should do is embraced the idea to cut to we should unite united around the idea that what we want is a public option and by the way the last couple of days around here you started to see that Joe Biden of propose something that looks very much like my Medicare X.. Other candidates cory booker. Hurt was saying that he supported Medicare for all but it was very unlikely that that would ever pass and it said we should pursue is a public option. I think we have the opportunity to play offense on healthcare going into this election. We should not be on defense and if we nominate somebody who's planned is Bernie's plan. We are going to be on defense by the way I would say all over the country not just in states like Colorado and Iowa North Carolina and Arizona Maine where we have to be on offense if we're going win a majority in the Senate but everywhere and there's no need for what's the purpose of what why why should we. I heard Barney said today that everyone hates their their private insurance in his plan. That's not true some people do. I've had private insurance assurance that I hated. I've had private insurance that I've liked. Why don't we leave it up to everybody? In America to decide what's best for their family and if we had a real public option they could do that and they could do that half the price. They're paying private insurance today for their premiums the Union guys that I met with yesterday all over don't hate their insurance. They don't want it replaced and those are Democrats so if you're thinking about something that will actually unify the country at agenda that will unify the country and put us in the position of of of establishing universal healthcare in this country finally. Why don't we propose why don't we follow a set of ideas? They will do that by the way most countries with the best healthcare outcomes in this country do have a hybrid river systems on the same day sanders gave a major speech on Medicare for all at George Washington University. Here's a snippet from that. No my Republican friends and some others seem to think that the American people hate paying taxes but they just love paying insurance premiums. Oh my God the insurance premiums here. What a wonderful day? Oh.

"Laser show. Along with Josh sees. so there is a senate budget proposal that includes the seventeen percent tax on vaping products and this is well i i i don't know how to feel about this and this is tough for me when this kind of stuff comes down it really doesn't it doesn't affect me because i don't vape and i don't smoke so those are i think a lot of the people that it's clearly going to be affecting in this situation but here's the here's the this is kind of i guess why the the the guy out of chagrin falls a senate finance chairman matt dolan he's out of chagrin falls he says he's concerned that vaping has filled a niche here in ohio that is attracting teens and i don't know josh you had an interesting take on this as to why you are against it i mean you you it's actually i think a pretty good if you're going to oppose this this would be a reason i think because the fact that chairman matt dolan is a republican and four this and you for the most part align yourself with the right i i i guess i was a little bit surprised when you actually had your take on this but wasn't it it's because i don't understand why you would try to price out something that could help kick a nasty horrible habit that kills people why why would you make it more difficult more expensive for people to be able to vape when vaping is much better than cigarettes yes you're still getting nicotine but you're not putting organic chemicals into your but you're not putting all that stuff into your body all that the tar the i don't understand it it's like people don't smoke don't smoke don't smoke okay here's a product can help people don't smoke now we're going to tax a living hell out of that it doesn't make sense to me yeah james jarvis the president of a high vapor trade association he says like you were just saying he's like look it's it's not tobacco and it does that make sense to fit vaping into the same tax framework as the tobacco industry because it's a it's a i don't know if you can to me it kind of feels like it's it's a similar not same product and it is similar but those are the differences that you just pointed out which is i guess why maybe it shouldn't be handled in the same framework i listen you're still getting nicotine is matter of fact you probably getting more nicotine if you're you're and i understand but you can control like the on your vaping devices you can actually control the amount of nicotine you get you can actually dial it down you think anybody's dial in it down i think you yeah i watched somebody quit that way they stepped down overall six weeks oh absolutely yeah no it was it was really remarkable and i'm very proud of good good buddy my way is the cancer causing agents in the cancer chemicals enough stuff you set on fire it's also from whatever weird chemicals they put on the tobacco to to enhance flavor or to whatever that's what gives you the cancer it's nicotine caffeine in a sense okay caffeine stimulant is a stimulant nicotine is a stimulant and that's not gonna give you cancer per se it's it's it's the delivery of it it's burning men organic material coated in chemicals from the cigarette factory that's what's so i you know we're so hypocritical in the way we manage things you know we completely overreacted to the opioid crisis by kicking completely good people off of the pain medicine they need for chronic conditions they can have a good life agreed to that we are handling the smoking situation as equally ignorant because we're we're demand know basically you're demanding some cases your employer you know there are places that you cannot smoke or you can't get health benefits or if you do you're paying zoo there are some places if you are a smoker you have to hide it because you could lose your job that's what i'm saying so we're not necessarily because of the insurance or whatever but and i don't know that that to me feels like how could you it's legal to do that how could you say look you you're not allowed to smoke you or if you smoke you can't work here that's silly i don't even know how they hold onto that there's so much hypocrisy in the way government legislates the things we do you've been we get it for thirty five years basically you've been beating warheads stop smoking gives you cancer it causes heart disease okay cool now through science and ingenuity and capitalism we figured out a way to help reduce maybe the cost of people who will get sick from smoking and what do you wanna do you wanna tax it through the roof so the average person they decide forget this it's cheaper i'll just go by go back out and buy a pack smokes i mean it makes sense to me if they were going to say you can't smoke for instance if an employer said you know if you smoke you can't work here then you can't over eat and you also can't drink because you have a chance of psoriasis deliver if you drink too you can't over eat because now you're talking about obesity you can't i mean where does that stop i don't understand how you're able to pick and until they put an implant with a micro chip and that measures every biotic function we haven't no-one will have a job anywhere No one will we're all going to be prisoners on this planet. And then we can live like AFC says we can absolutely. in paradise baby no one will work everyone will have all the money and stuff in healthcare that we need.
