"I got a good board of calls with the rest of the hour. Matt Dems are golf guy from GOP channel and fairways of life. We'll hop aboard the twenty is still ongoing. It's pretty much become a two-horse race and one's got a pretty significant lead. But give Dustin Johnson credit. He's at least trying to rally on the outside. Brooks camp is still at minus twelve he's even on the front side just teed off on a tenth. Dustin. Johnson is three under par for the day and has gotten to minus eight face cut the deficit to four holes. He's got eight the play kept because got nine I think it's going to take a fade by kept got to get real close. But Dustin Johnson is opened up three strokes of his own on Matt Wallace and jazz. Cain. What nine and who is in the clubhouse shot, a solid, even round today of seventy and oh, no excuse me to to I through the first half is even par speed to three. Can't lays it three. You've got two guys might as five Matt Wallace and jazz doesn't Johnson at eight. They're all chasing Brooks. Kepco has minus twelve Stanley from Pennsylvania up on CBS sports radio. Stan. Hold on. How I? Preakness come up kinda weak yesterday. There was only one grade one winner innovation to, to great two winners. One of which was war will yet he paid a price basis form says that he's going to go three two one, maybe the favorite, and that's really paid a great price. They did. We had one ship or New York. I couldn't believe yesterday. It wasn't a star studded field but I thought it was a good race because I thought it was competitive, and I thought that was a chance for some decent pricing. Now I wouldn't have bet ever fast. I said this yesterday, you're on CBS if ever vast himself had pulled a mister Ed and told me that he was going to run. Second, look dead knee. I, I would have said. Yeah, right buddy, and there was, no way, I would put a penny on them and more power to them that he came up with the big upright and did run second. And that's why I didn't hit the exotics. I thought the winner added chance I thought he was compromised. The Kentucky Derby had the one bad race in the Louisiana derby. But other than that he'd been really good. So he didn't figure a little bit and to get fourteen dollars on him was pretty good. Boy, I'll say he really paid a great price. I what I need out of you. Stan because flows, if you don't know stands, my breeding guy, he knows more about bringing a horse than anybody that I know. And he try. Tried to talk me into using country house in the Kentucky Derby, which I did not who paid one hundred thirty five dollars. I think breeding could be a key in the Belmont. So we don't know who's in the field, just yet. But I need you to do your best handicapping. For breeding come three weeks from now where slightly less of that the first the second Saturday in June. Do you agree that the Belmont is a race where you do wanna look at the breeding much like the Kentucky Derby and give it a pretty heavy hand in doing your handicapping? Absolutely, as compared like the previous, I don't pay. No attention to the pedigree. Right. But put derby and put a Belmont. Pedic remains a lot. Right. So I will be waiting patiently for your call the week before about my because we don't even know who's in the field, just yet. But I am going to lean more on your expertise for the third jewel in triple crown. But all right. Take care. My pleasure. That's stand from Pennsylvania, who's been calling me. And we've been talking horses. First sneaking up on thirty years now, eat them for Michigan's up on CBS sports radio Halloween. The millionaire. Doing something. Is what we're gonna do putting on hold and he's going to pick up the phone and he's going to be good to go the next time I call his name, I John from Arizona's up on CBS sports radio. Hey, I am so grateful. We have people like Stanley sharing his thoughts, and that's in Syria. He's a good doors. Mun. Oh my gosh. I I'm just a kid yesterday. We talked about a couple of horses in the Belmont Stakes and I forgot to bunch of names, but I'm going to give you seven horses right now. Okay. And there's no news on anything. But I, I told you, I want Tacitus he's a tap, it cold. I think he'll win. I don't care whether he's in tenth post position or fifth or even on the rail. In fact, that might even be good. But I believe that we got to watch the Japanese horse. I think it's called master fencer defensive. Yep. They this horse they bred for distance. He's got Julian lot, Peru. If they keep them on top, and that's, that's a wise, man. I also think plu K, Parfait hope I pronounced that right. Sorry about that, Louisiana that horse can go the distance, I think war will be in. This Belmont reminds me of the twenty twelve edition when we only had like four derby entrance, and they filled it up with New York breads, and Pennsylvania and Maryland breads. That's one where I'll have another got the quarter track. And they, they didn't let the horse run and they scratched them the day before. But he was gone for the triple crown helped me out, who is paint or union rags that one that union rags wanted play Philly, right? So I do matter of fact, I was there that day and I was right down on the finish line. I was broadcast day at the track, they were neck and neck. Yeah, the great race. Oh, absolutely. So once again, you got probably they're going to fill it with the top three finishers from the Peter Pan, which is global campaign. I look this one up, Sir Winston and intrepid heart and intrepid heart is a tap cold night, who was the heavy favorite in the Peter Pan and didn't really run all that. Well I was not impressed with the effort. But if you go back and check the video, and the Peter Pan. Sir Winston came from way back and was flying late. And if that horse has the breeding to go the distance more kassy's going to put him in against war will trying to get two out of three and can make the argument after being fouled in derby that they could have been looking at a potential trip crown horse there. But if Mark Marchesi puts this horse in. That tells you he believes has a real big chance to win. That's a horse. I would keep an eye on for the Bella. I look that up. But awesome, again, was the, the sire Unser Winston okay against Ghana distance global campaign is a curl in Colt and the mirror was out of AP APN was the Sira that mayor. I'm dying to hear what Stanley has to say that this is Stanley's day, and it's appointment listening Stanley. So I hope you're still beyond. He'll be on a couple of Saturday's from now. I can pretty much because he's a die hard fan. And he's very good at that stuff as are you, John John, one of the few that I know cast bay today I kissed little yesterday. But he can't pick good for John Dmitri from Detroit's up on CBS sports radio. Hello, dmitri. Taking my call. You got. That I think the pelicans, they should keep Anthony Davis. I think it'd be crazy. The trade him like if you look at what the Spurs had before they got some Dunkin. They were good, but they didn't win on Kim gets their, their dynasty, you know, they're both small market. They both wanted to North Carolina colleges. Dunkin's. I on there, just a lot of comparisons there and they can just add a few shooters, so that, you know, they have a similar spot Santa Tonio, right? He's the only different Anthony Davis has got to want to stay because he made Radyr obvious. His plans are to go elsewhere. He's done his time in New Orleans light to try somewhere else. If the addition of Zion, and new gen last president wouldn't even want to call the new guy in charge down here in New Orleans is enough to sway him, then, yes, I would keep him too, and I would try and pair those two guys together. But if. He is not overly excited about waiting on to become a superstar player. It's going to take a little time. Eight not gonna come in and dominate year one as a rookie in the NBA it'd be a couple of seasons if he doesn't want to do that. And he is still of the mindset. No, I wanna be elsewhere as contract runs out at the end of the season and you don't wanna get nothing for him. The pelicans, though, like I would wait until the trade line, even if you don't get, as much at least you have a chance to show him that look we can win with you on. They could sign one guy like kyri Leonard. Of quite Lana goes there, clues going to beat that, like, eight on break doesn't make any sense to leave at this point before the Zion. Yeah. Things have changed. You know, here's why. It's a gamble waiting to trade deadline. You could get more you more likely going to get less because teams have made all the commitments, they don't have salary cap. So you've gotta take money back and exchange, and it may be bad money that you taking back and you might not want to do that. So it's a risk to way to the trade deadline. If I were them if Anthony Davis is not full bore. I'm good. I wanna stay I'm having my conversation right away. And I'm trying to get done during the off season. If I can't get anybody to pay my price then yes, I'm holding onto him and I'm going to take the make the best deal that again at the trade deadline. But if I can get what I feel is fair gained form. I'm doing it before the season starts. Anthony Davis tells me. I don't have any desire to stay here. If you wait till deadline, you could still get almost the same thing. I'm telling you can't because the Lakers are going to say, no to they're not gonna give you kudos, Ma and Ingram and ball anymore. They're still going to do that. They might depend depends depends on where they're at in the season if they're involved endeavor, if they're in a race, if they think that's the difference between making a not making a play getting into play winning. Yeah. Then if they think they can get it all together that quickly and, you know, they would base it off at least in part as a comparison the sectors. Because the team started the season they made the trade for Jimmy Butler relatively early couple of weeks into the season. So I don't buy those who say we'll Jimmy Butler had to get up to speed with the sectors. He was up to speed by midseason, but the big trade that they made for Tobias Harris because they had some injuries and beat mistime Butler miss him games. Good..

"Now, this is Karen Travers here with Aaron Katersky. This is a race that has gotten a lot of national attention. Some pretty heavy hitters from both parties have been campaigning for these candidates. As you say, there's a lot of money poured into it. But is this. What are the local issues that are driving voters down there? What are they concerned about? Well, and what's interesting is actually what is played into this a lot is that there really haven't been the local issues. It's really been a. I Donald Trump as straight are you Donald Trump, or are you against Donald Trump, and actually what whatever else Bamberger has been playing into a lot with it is whether or not date Brad has been responsive to his local constituency with the big issue when Eric cantor was house leader whether or not he was coming down to the district enough and she's trying to play up the day. Brad has not been doing as many town halls as maybe he was at the beginning of his term, and sort of playing into that, you know, whether or not he he's credibly a local candidate or has become more Washington. It'll be interesting to see if the voters buy that argument. Matt we appreciate the info, please keep us up to date from where you are. And Matt DEM line is with our affiliate W R V A. They're outside of Richmond Virginia. Karen there. There are a number of races in Virginia in particular. But also in some of the Philadelphia suburbs. And in New Jersey where the Democrats could pick up a significant number of seats. And this could be a very big night for Democrats in the. Mid-atlantic area. Let's talk about Philadelphia for a second that suburb area. There was redistricting. There was a big court case, and and this right there, the Democrats felt that they were going to be able to pick up seats puzzle. Even six just in Pennsylvania at six of the twenty three that we've been talking about so much. We're watching all of these house races along with competitive Senate races. And only so far able to project Bernie Sanders, and Vermont and Tim Kaine in Virginia retaining their seats..

"This is an ABC news special election night twenty eighteen from ABC news headquarters here is correspondent Aaron Katersky. Polls are about to close in another seventeen states across the country. They're being kept open in parts of Georgia though. There had been some problems with the ballots were going to check in with Atlanta in just a little while the energy and outrage of Democrats squared off tonight against the brute strength of President Trump and the results, but it's still coming in. We can only make to projections here at ABC news in Vermont, Senator Bernie Sanders retains his seat and in Virginia. Senator Tim Kaine does as well in all of the other states, where the polls have already closed ABC news does not yet have enough information to make a projection, but we do know why many voters were coming out, and we returned to Kristen Solta, Sanderson and ABC news political analyst Steve Roberts who are crunching some of these numbers, Steve what are you? Watching tonight. One of the things I'm watching is the role of women as candidates, we've talked a lot about women as voters the fact that there's an enormous gender gap. As women have swung heavily toward the Democrats. Hillary Clinton won women by overall by fourteen points, but the gender gap is much larger than that tonight. But in so many of these key house races democratic hopes depend on women. You look at the state of Regina to take one example. There are four Republican held seats that are up for grabs in Virginia purple state in every one of those races, the Democrats nominated women, including younger women women with military experience. And in other states women of color, many of the female candidates are forty under. And so whatever else happens tonight, whoever controls the house, we know that they're going to be a record number of women sitting in the house. There are eighty four women in the house today. And it's likely at the end of the night there will be over one hundred for the first time over one hundred women sitting in the house of representatives and most of them Democrats, not all, but that's one of the key results of tonight. No matter who controls the house Steve Roberts is ABC news political analyst, and we were following in particular, a number of house races has the Democrats try to get to that magic number of twenty three in order to take back control of the house from the Republicans. There are several of those key house races going on in Virginia. And so we turned to Matt DEM line from our affiliate W RV. A who's there at one of them? Matt good evening. Good evening. I'm actually at Dave brat headquarters quarter, congressman Dave brat headquarters just outside of Richmond. We're sort of waiting and take a look at the results waiting for them to fully come in. What's been driving the votes so far today? This is this is been a very close race. It's been a lot of money in this race. And it's and it's quite a competitive race. The Democrats really targeted this seat. Of course day Brad beat house majority leader Eric cantor, a couple of years ago and Democrats have been targeted in this seat ever ever since he's seeking his third full term now, but he's going up against Abigail span burger, a one of those women that we've just been talking about inspired to run for office. She's a former CIA officer and has a lot of appeal in that district. It seems absolutely. And of course, they choke candidate who would who would appeal in what is mostly a Republican district, although it is becoming more moderate, they chose someone a former CIA officer someone who had a little bit more moderate credentials that could potentially take votes away from daybreak who is more on the conservative side..
