"Blame your front office who doesn't care about the brand of baseball. You guys put out my girlfriend got upset with me. She said you maybe shouldn't do this video slamming the ace. I don't want to work in Portland anyway. Okay, So the poor love line is the shot, right? And really, this is a shot at the front office. You continue to put out brand of baseball where people know your players do. New York Yankee fans. Nomad Elson. You don't know the number of home runs this this guy hits. I know he was on the interstate this year, and I don't think this season is indicative of the type of player that that Olson is, but are the A's national names Do people know how good Matt Chapman is? Or is he just that third baseman for the Oakland A's? This is the point. You don't have name brands. In households across the country, and if you did, you might be in a better time slot if you had a bigger following. I'm not blaming the ace players. The A's are a damn good team. But don't turn this around and make it about the to see this was never about the two seed. So after this video goes up following the game, which, by the way again if you listen to it, I did not need to take on the A's playing or winning at all It was about go play your games and handle business. Go handle business. Go win. And they did so to me. This was fake anger. This was entirely fabricated. Put in your head. I don't know why you let this sort of sort of Ah issue get into your head to begin with. Once they say this is crazy. We got to get up at 6 30, who cares? And Brody, Brazil who does a great job on a lot of the postgame stuff for NBC sports, and you see him on sharks coverage He does. A great job is a good Eastbay Guy. High School sports Focus has been on the podcast with me on the update on the athletic. He's a good dude. But he commented yesterday me and said, Well, If he told you you had to get up at 12 45 for your biggest show of the year. I said, bro, That's what it's about. If it's a big moment, and you've got to get up early to be extra prepared or get up early, because they're like hope. We need John at 4 A.m.. It's a huge ratings book. We need you to be on a four or at three and take us all the way to 6 A.m.. You know who's going to get their ass up and be here and do it in three. I will Absolutely without question. If you tell me this is a playoff game this a big day we got Giants postseason. We got 40 Niners Super Bowl. You're gonna be up extra early. You know, I just I can't get into the mindset of I'm going to complain about this and then act like I should. You know, what was I prove wrong because they beat the seven seed. What? I'm supposed to be like, boy. They overcame that adversity. Delia Breck did people are checking in on the cast pretext. I know what I'm getting at, by the way is Jake Beekman commented on the video after he says Hello, Adam. I said, What's up, man? How's it going, Jake? And he says, you and sf fan like this is a and then immediately I started to feel the sadness. Let dude A's fans must ways players must walk around the Bay Area like Boy. Everybody's a Giants fan were winning ball games. Nobody comes out to see us and I'm not. I'm not. I'm not trying to crap on Deacon here. But the mean the fact that you're in an area where there have been so many championships. There aren't a ton of dual markets are markets with two teams and it were. One team has been all that much better than the other team, like Cubs and White Sox controlled blows all they want You know that comes with one in 100 years and change. White Sox have won one since 1919 right like it's it's. It's not that big of a deal. You go up Tio Cincinnati in Cleveland, but none of those teams win New York in New York. Okay, that's won Florida and Tampa Bay or Miami and Tampa who cares, and you're not really in the same market. You're a few hours away from each other, so it's a little bit different. But I get the little brother syndrome and I get that like his. His initial thought is you must be a Giants fan, Which is why you're coming at me. I am a Giants fan, and I crapped on the Giants a bunch this year too. Let's not act like I did not get upset with Gabe Kapler. Don't act like I don't try to hold my team accountable if the Braves and stood up and complain the way the complaint I descended about them, the Cardinals, the Padres, the Cubs, the Marlins doesn't matter to me. This was a hollow hollow argument. So he commented back and said, you and sf fan. I said no, actually work for the flagship at KNBR. And he says, Well, that makes sense. Now I understand and I said Jake, why don't you come on and talk with us about it? Let's discuss it more. And he hit me with the James Harden free. Good response. Actually, by the way for gifts walkie. The James Harden walk away head tilt from the microphone, and I just told him sleep well, Jake, but now he's following me. I'm following him. We'll see if we can get him on. I actually think that this would be a fun thing to discuss and again. I've got no beef with Jake deep and I've got no beef with with the Oakland A's himself, just like you don't complain about this. Go handle business. Go win your ball game and you did, And now you get a shot, So he's fans be happy You're on to the D s. You get to play arrival. You better handle business against the Astros, because nobody is gonna let you lift attack If you don't beat him after after the whistle blowing from Mike fires 9 to 5 checks in on the cast pretext line, it says copes. I'm with you on the start of time complaining. The biggest thing about all of it is that both teams are experiencing the exact same circumstances. The issue about the issue. The The pushback on that would be that the White Sox body clock is not hitting them the same way that the White Sox feel like they're playing their game at two o'clock in the afternoon for their internal clock. They've been here for four days, right? Like I mean, you get a little bit adjusted. I think by yesterday the White Sox probably felt like they were waking up at 6 A.m., right. I think by game three you feel that and hey, maybe maybe that's why the White Sox lost on the other side will get into some 1400 football 40. Others were upset yesterday will not upset but the most tweeted out, as did Solomon Thomas Retweeting about the turf. At at MetLife Stadium last night Broncos over the Jets. It was Brett ripping, gets his first win in his first NFL starting quarterback while throwing three interceptions has not happened since Jim Druckenmiller did it here. Back in 1997. We'll talk a little 40 100 football ahead of the The Niners and the Eagle Sunday night on KNBR, 1045 and 6 80. You're listening to the sports leader. This's the leadoff spot with Adam Copeland on FM sees KNBR 1045 and 6 80 These wars leader Hey, Adam Copen.

"Kanna Joining us really interesting, Right. So I had your teammate Matt Chapman on the show earlier this month, which is always awesome. We talked about what a weird year It's been from the standpoint of going to spring training than shutting it down for months and having a wrap it back up again, like what's that you have been like for you personally. It's been pretty crazy. I'm alone with my family. I have I'm married. I have two kids and they're back home in Scottsdale, Arizona, where we live. Ah, About face time with them a lot. Today. I'm making it a point to get outside because we were in We've this is our Texas trip, and it's It's hot out here. So and all both of these stadiums are indoors, so I Pretty sure aside from the walk from the lobby of the hotel to the bus, I have been outside of four days. So make it a point to go outside. Take a walk today before I head over to the ballpark. You know what I mean? It's so important. Get outside, right. But what about this notion of life? But the fam the families back home, and there's been a lot of talk about what's like the MBA bubble. I have no idea. I'm not there, but the mental health issues and the challenges. I mean, how hard is it? And people like so caught up in? Yeah, they're rich. They're playing a game that cut off my arm. For how challenging is it for you to be away from your family? It's challenging. It is. I'm not gonna lie. This is The longest. Ah, period I've ever been away from my kids. I mean, there's no one but I want to be clear. There's no one making me be away from my family. It's kind of a personal choice that we made to not have My family come out to California this year, but Um Yeah, it's a difficult year. No doubt and Just the same. You know, the family life is difficult at home. My wife having toe take care of two kids, and they're having their own difficulties with not being able to go outside in the Arizona heat and It's that you know that wears on me here and along just even though I'm not there, I still feel my wife's pain. So it's It's Ah, It's tricky. I mean, I know everyone has the The family situation is tricky everywhere so Exactly Right, Mark. An adjoining us is tricky for everybody. And then you've got the whole food issue, right? Like so can we go out to eat? And if we go out the we wantto supported local establishment and we're going to eat in the street is they're social distancing. I bring this up because it affects everybody, Including you. The last time he came on, we talked about your love of food and your instagram account. Big league foodie. So how are you approaching food during the season? Have you been able to get in a few good meals? What's the approach? All right. I mean, I hit the places I know in the Bay Area and I usually it involves me picking up food and eating it in my car or You know, there's a couple great spots. I lived by Lake Merritt in Oakland, and Ah, occasionally I'll get take out and go eat by the lake. So that's nice. On the road. It's a lot more challenging on the road. Typically, it's a lot of room service and ah It's just hard to get out. I don't want to get in an uber. I don't wantto You know, I'm just trying to avoid Contact and confined spaces like that. So it's I think today I'll go take a walk and try to find something that I can walk to. But But it's It's definitely challenging just because I don't want to get in the car with someone else and go like normally I would and go out on an adventure around and explore some food spots. But I can't really do that this year will mark. Where does that leave you with your go to? I know you're a big trader Joe's guy are you still going there? And for those who do not have a trader Joe's or still do not quite understand it. What do you like so much about that place? What makes it so different? Huh? Days. I mean, it's just the They're prepared meals. I mean, they have kit produce. The produce is fine and everything but like that prepared like frozen meals are I I have to admit they're they're amazing on I'm not above. Ah, He'd never Cem Cem, Trader Joe's frozen Chicken tikka masala or something so Ah! I just I think they really do a good job with that stuff. Mark seems to be like on the one hand like we we could never dio what you condo's and then on the other hand, you really are just like the rest of us. Given example. You have this great tweet the other day, Quote putting it, do they Inside a duvet cover is just not something I'm going to tackle right now, or ever. Life's too short and quote. So if getting good baseball he's one of the most difficult things to do on the planet. What's easier, hitting something in the nineties with movement or putting a Dubay inside the duvet cover? Well. You know, I'd rather Ah You know, prepare Watch video. I think that they actually I probably put the debate down and grabbed my hat and started watching video. Instead you learn how to hit the baseball so Ah, I I something that I've been a good place right now. I don't have my own furniture. There just happened to be a Dubay there, and I just looked at it and I complain to my wife about your days in the past. And I just looked at it. And I remember thinking No, not today. Not going to do it on, uh That's just something that I will. Ah, I'll never try to do Ah, and then you know, people. People came at me on Twitter like, Oh, it's not that hard. You just got it. And then if they described this, like elaborate seven step process, and I'm like, Yeah, no, that's not happening right now. And no dude, it's I tend to agree with you. It's no that's not. It just is challenging, right? Not today. Not tomorrow. Maybe not ever. Let's go to Casper. The hokey Ott. Listen really quickly. I talk the talk Wass. It's short year. It's assure you we've got to get out quickly. We should get out quickly, and then you guys get off to a three and four start. What was the mindset that clubhouse then? And you've gone 19 6, then what's the biggest change since that start?.
Jim Bourke IAC President Discusses What Got Him Into Acrobatic Aviation
"Eventually got you into aerobatics You know obviously, you had exposure to a bunch of different airplanes. You know you're working with airshows. Did it kind of come out of that? Well sort of did because I grew up around pilots to me everybody was a pilot everyone I looked up to as a pilot, and at that time in the seventies, there was a lot of really great aviation going on tons of aircraft new aircraft being produced. There's a lot of people buying airplanes, a lot of flights, a lot of pancake breakfasts and a lot of airshows especially small town near shows a lot of that's not around anymore. But that time we could go to an air show seemed like or. Some. Kind of a flying event seem like every week every weekend shirts we did a lot of that and it was part my dad's way making social connections. So we did a lot of that kind of thing, and in particular I remember going to the air show at off Air Force Base I grew up in in Omaha and I have a very clear memory of the Blue Angels Flying Air Force, which they did briefly at that air show I remember sitting on my dad's shoulders and watching that and watching. Some other air show performers that are well known. Now, you know looking back on, it was really very fortunate to see that show a lot of great stuff going on there. But. That really got me excited about the idea of flying an airplane in aerobatics and then my dad had us atop here for while we hit several different airplanes. The one I remember the most is a Casa what the cost of jet a Spanish fighter jet. Blue it'd did loops and rolls and things, and I was probably sixteen or something, and that really that really hit me but then I just didn't have very much money and I. Ended up working at a hobby store and getting into model airplanes. So I spent a couple of decades working very heavily in the model airplane industry still do and got involved in aerobatics and became really proficient flying. Are Sierra in at some point I just decided you know I have the money. Now I could have a real airplane and do the stuff in a real airplane boy I you know monitors hate it when I call real airplanes really airplane. Their full-scale at full-scale full-scale. Yeah. I realized I could buy a full-scale airplane and be inside the airplane, and after that, it just been a a dream and I'm I'm very involved in it ever since then. That's that's that's awesome and then how did you get involved with a with I? Did, you start starting competition aerobatics and just kind of move up from there. Well, you know my first exposure to the icy was when I lived in Dallas and at that time the icy nationals was. Basically Sherman, which is about forty five minutes or an hour north where I lived and my friends, and I would always go up there to to kind of hang out and look at the airplanes and talk to the pilots and we had them all on pedestals because we were model airplane guys you know it was a two. So exciting to walk around and see these. Lasers and and Giles, or so the hot airplanes the time, and then also the pits by planes and all the cooler planes that are out there in the nineties was a time of tremendous innovation in in Arabic airplane design. A lot of the planes were flying really came out of that sort of era, the late eighties and early nineties when a lot of. design changes were made and we will all went to monoplane was one of the biggest changes that happened to that horsepower ramped up from four cylinders to six cylinders says a lot of really interesting things going on and that's what That's what really got me. To know about the icy into to see that it was something and but still not approachable to me because of my budget at the time. But I knew it was then and I I started meeting people through RC connections over the years who had I see background including. Matt Chapman. WHO's an air show pilot or was he retired? But at the time I knew him as a mater and some other people's well that I that you met and so it never really totally left me from that experience in the early to mid ninety s didn't leave me but it just wasn't something I could do until I finally found myself in you know two, thousand, five, thousand, six and realize hey, you know I could just go do this and Been Fifteen years ago I guess that I got into it as a pilot. I have my license I. Think I got it in eighty seven within sixteen or seventeen. And? I. Had my licence but just didn't really use it for fun until I got into airbags and that's when I realized. Oh airplanes are fun really fun.

"Got a little taste of baseball last night. Many for many of you. It's the first Baseball you've seen in terms of a life game. I don't know how much you've been watching the Exhibitions. What The Dodgers game got a little bit out of hand last night. And then there's the rain shortened game in the Yankees, Nats, but It was enough. I got to tell you the one thing. You know, we have all these conversations about the crown noise and the do you put the cutouts? Behind the dugout and everyone's got jokes. Everyone's got jokes for the L. A. Pointing out that none of the cut outs on cell phones The cut outs were there in the first standing, which never happens. They were there the entire game. That also never happen, so the joke's were coming and I applauded all of them. Talking about the cardboard cutouts of fans, perhaps being better than riel, Dodger fans. But anyway The one thing that needs to be improved. Everything can be tweet. I don't know that we need The React Crowd reaction. So I like the way I like the general drone hum of a baseball stadium. Just give me that. I just don't want silence. Give it. Give me a little something in that regard. I don't need you, Teo. Play a roaring crowd on a homerun like the emotions already there. I I don't need the crowd there. But just the drone for the ambiance. That would be good and and I like the cut outs as opposed to just empty seats. But the big thing that needs to improve Is the broadcast. I mean, why in the world is Matt Chapman on a Dodgers Giants game? And In any If it's not in Oakland A's game. Matt Chapman, being on would make no sense. But you're You have him on in a game that's being played by the other Bay Area team. And giant social media was having a little bit of fun with that. Saying, Like, Oh, yeah, let's Ah Let's talk more about yoga poses. Like why is Matt Chapman on the broadcast? Made absolutely no sense. I get it. You gotta fill. You got to feel some stuff, but it's like, just call the game. Like we know you're not there. Which is Call the game in the ESPN is the worst offender of this. I mean, I don't make a point to You know an ESPN hater. I don't I don't hate ESPN. They're big reason why any of us exist in the sports media world? But they're the worst in terms of just Going down these roads where it's just like we don't need it. Do we need Matt Chapman? On a Giants Dodgers game Normally, why do we do it? Because we have zoom because we can And there the ESPN announcers of the most meandering bunch of people that I've ever seen in the Broadcasts. And it's not so much rat, a ravaged Karl Ravech. I'm a big fan of him, but it's the other guys. That he has an Iran in Mendoza do this, too. They just wander aimlessly through a broadcast and bring up teams that play 3000 miles away. It's like now just focus on what's going on. We don't need Matt Chapman on the Dodgers Giants game. Put him on the A's game. We'll see him on the A's game he gets Anca were about his yoga poses there. And like the moment that there's really a need for some conversation. Is when they're talking about the female coach for the Giants. What a great Thing that the Giants are doing and I know it's not a charity case. She earned her way there. But what a big moment To be the first on field female coach in the Major League baseball team. And ravage opened up the guys on the broadcast. What was it? Kurt Gin and ah, Eduardo Perez. What about this? The first female on field coach in major league history. A huge moment. And they could barely muster anything. But yet if they're going to talk about downward dog they could go on for 20 minutes. It's like So the broadcast got to get better. As Faras. The baseball is concerned. I know we're not supposed to overreact to one game. But tell me why the Yankees Dodgers won't be in the World Series. Pretend on the dude the name of the dude sitting at the table sipping my coffee cup changed my mind. How could you think that anybody else except those two teams They're going to play in the World Series. Barring any kind of catastrophe. You know, stands hurt last year. But I mean fully healthy. I don't know how you could go against either one of those teams. And and you saw two different lineups. Last night. Because you look at the Yankees and I don't think there's a 12 punch in a lineup that pitchers would fear Mohr than Judge and Stayton. Like Stanton and Aaron. Judge. Home runs are emasculating. Like if I gave up one of those things. I would I'd go into a corner and I'd sob quietly in between innings. Like even the shot that stand hand off assures there last night. Like how How do you muster the courage to go against Aaron? Judge and Giancarlo Stanton? Yeah, you could strike him out. But if you don't strike him out there, taking it 600 feet to the left..

"And I was with the Dodgers what would you say if now you can you had a number years under your belt is there a draft you look and said man we really we really kick but that particular year is there one that stands out over the others that that's a really tough one well you know my last year in Oakland was where could it go but it is staff pick Matt Chapman with a first round pick which was at the end of the first route so I mean I was just a moment pic of terrific players Japanese turned out to be and you know when I was a down south working for the other employer we had a couple good drafts but I I'm sure your listenership doesn't wanna hear about they don't want to hear what about this now we we talked about this earlier far on how much you guys looking at what's going on with the KBO or bonus Liga soccer which is starting but some of their soccer league's premier league and leaguer gonna be certain that pretty soon how much you look at what they're doing and how they're doing it and how there could be a crossover between what they're doing what you're doing what you like what you don't like what you could would change how much do you take take notice of what's going on in others in other sports communities yeah I think there's two different that the learning that we can have from some believe that of start up already won it yet how they're going about it either keeping players safe the tech protocol that they're putting in place an individual teams like us and the legal office of had a lot of communication with those weeks about what they're doing what is working and you know what remains a work in progress the other thing just to the stand you know I'm sure you guys have done this to just tuning in and and evaluating the the TV experience was out of the house fans are going to be consuming our game and you know you kind of think of what could be better what could make this more exciting and you know the one thing about watching the beach KBL games baseball it's always going to every sport can be better with fans but it's interesting about baseball because so much of the television broadcasters picture versus batter and you know the fan interaction or you know you just don't see that many fans in that particular shop center field so I think baseball kinda well set up to have a TV production where it doesn't seem too awkward it's going to be a little bit but watching the KPL game the other day you know I was surprised that you know how much I it'll be kind of zoned out are tuned out on the fact that they weren't banned there because so much of it is just that you know model you mano pitcher versus batter matchup that you watch your course it will take some of that you can get some of the stadiums I know I was watching a game in Tucson a couple day nights ago they didn't have the fans behind home plate the cardboard cut outs one of that stadiums in a camera which one it was but I mean if you looked at him you would tell obviously they're not fans but if you're watching pitcher catcher pitcher batter it doesn't you did that it's Roger the negative spaces and draw your eye balls to that it's like it looks normal because that's kind of what the fans look like other than the fact they're moving a little bit you're concentrating on the game but it to me it's okay how can you make this as normal as possible like the Bundesliga had crowd noise pilot in over the telecast FS one did that and it sounded good you don't see a ton of fans insane in the soccer matches but do anything they can do to make it seem normal that doesn't dry your eyes are years away from a going god this is weird anything they can do in that regard I think is a bonus yeah I think it's going to be there to think they're gonna happen one as fans are just going to acclimate to these broadcasts will be different and you know once you watch five or ten games that way it's gonna feel a lot more normal and to it I just think the broadcasts are going to get better and better and the people that work in that realm you know really talented and I know you gotta figure out a way to make it fun and interesting and exciting and probably get some level of fan interaction gauge mint in a different sort of way but you know I I I think that you know people on on that side of the business are going to figure out a lot of ways to make the television broadcast compel yeah I would think the player input to as much as they want to give I would think player input would have a you know it would be a factor in that as well because the more comfortable your guys are you know especially at home or whatever you know your whole ballpark is going to be in these interesting times I think it's comfortable with those guys you want to make them that would be one of the most important things of this whole process absolutely just in terms of using you know the sound system thank you guys that it's that you know the piping in a crowd this is you know not necessarily just for the broadcast but the books for the guys who were there and you know every team now has the you know the gigantic jumbo tron out in center field maybe there's a way to do that there's a way to type in you know some fans and kind of assume like grade or something like that just to make it feel like more of a social experience and I think all that stuff you know when we get to that point they're gonna be some really interesting things in experiments that you know wind up making it to your point not just a a good fan experience on TV but as normal as possible for the guy to get a feel for hunt from what you've heard has had teams handled this downtime you know in different ways and and did you get did you guys develop any kind of a strategy of how to try to utilize this time to be best prepared other than just say Hey guys stay in shape have you had kind of an over arching plan that you've tried to implement yeah the cool you know captives you know I know he's been on with you guys has been great about being cut to the coaching staff keeping them on their toes stimulating games and kind of going through the in game model so you know once the season starts they have a good deal for the roster and how they're going to use it again you know something that's been a common refrain is is just communication making sure that you know we're in touch with our players know what they're working on provide them resources where we can I mean that's just been a broader societal thieves just staying connected with people will be more important than ever so you know I don't know how how how much you call that a strategy but that's probably been the most important thing just to keep morale up and keep people feeling connected so you know hopefully we get this thing going it won't feel like you know worse we're starting from ground zero will have that built up something over the course of the couple months you know it's interesting I just saw this taxes is going to allow twenty five percent fans at outdoor events which is interesting I don't think California is ever gonna follow Texas lead when it comes to to politics or a lot of other things but it does make you think you know what maybe if things trend in the right direction and who knows to sync it all go to hell in a hand basket and three days of me we have no idea what this thing is going but if things continue along this line maybe there will be some fans I mean it doesn't have to be on forty thousand fans are thirty eight could be ten thousand I'm gonna be like a maze game so you did something like that at least you laughed at that thank you I appreciate that but you could have a little bit Billy Beane online three what what outposts that that would even be funny don't even be like I didn't think that was gonna be possible for housing you will probably have to deal with no fans throughout the season and we may it's a possibility but the fact that they're going to do it again you could you could you could see how it goes and maybe there is a place where you can have like three people per row and have a role in between them and stuff like that so maybe maybe there is hope that there could be could be some fans in the stadium before the season ends yeah I mean you know Thomas as much as you and I like to work things out for our society out during these interviews yes the same thought which is you know you see you know slowly they're encouraging signs that you know more more stores at full retail outlets are opening up you know more parks are opening up and you start saying well you know if we can open up part could have these circles where people have to stay inside you know could you do something like that in a gigantic stadium they usually beds forty fifty thousand people and you know can you do it safely and clearly Texas is starting by adding more and more people are are are are to you better look we we haven't seen the end of fans coming to see him in a reversal we will get there at some point it's just a question of what the case is I do think there's going to be an intermediate phase where you know they're gonna be capacity limits but some fans are going to be let back into the stadiums and arenas you don't want the public health official site that safe and who knows I mean it could it could be towards the end of the season I think that would be great that would upset a lot of people because you know this is ultimately about you know we professional sports are very much a spectator experience and I know you know the front office's management players everybody feels that way so hopefully we get back to that as soon as possible Ron if you if you guys you know court of the reports might be expanded rosters and maybe even I'll see extremely large taxi squad and there may not be a minor league season we kind of were certain understand that's kind of the dynamic of this of what we're seeing I'm just kind of wanted to get like a comarca Luciano who's such a great young prospect in your system is there any consideration to think to put a guy like that on your on your taxi squad so to speak with no real intention of playing in just so he keeps developing as opposed to shutting it down and you get a lost year how you guys doing those things absolutely I think it's gonna went.

"In episode twenty seven generations e that's Dr Justin Tros player Breen with the Minnesota series of doctors perspective podcast last last week. I mentioned the Fooling Book Uncertain Doctors Perspective Dot net slash chapters you get four free you get the blueprint for cardio the blueprint for weightlifting optimal calorie calculator and the budgeting allegedy chapter which is quite long a long. I really do like the calorie calculator because it goes through. I WanNa see seven formulas and we make some averages and we walk you through how to do it because hey guess what one hundred and eighty five pounds or one hundred twenty pounds male. Male versus a female you overweight underweight. Why should they eat macro micronutrients? It kind of comes you all that so that way you know what to do with the maintain right. I'm almost at the way that I wanna be so I can just figure out a nice callard. I maintain it just calculated for awhile and you start figuring it out. It's good stuff. They show Dr Marketing Tips podcasts generations e Jojo. Yes y'all the millennials. That's what they are nine to age twenty four you. They've always had a cell phone. They don't know anything different right. They've always had a smartphone to get with it. Find out whatever they want now. There's some people are like well. They don't know as much as they did before because they don't have to memorize anything all right whatever that's not what this podcast is about now these people they're not really on facebook per se. That's kind of like what your parents are our age right but there are other things. They didn't discuss what those were because. I guess they're always changing but you can guess I would say. Matt Chapman. I think snapchat fading away but it's still there <hes> there's a program called me. We E W E no ads. They don't save your information. I do have a profile on there. Yes you guessed it just controls Claire <hes> but I don't really have that many followers. They only got. I don't know how many millions of people but you really have to find people that are on it and that's the tough part is <hes> you know you hear five thousand people on facebook. which is the upper limit on your personal it's like are they on me? We I don't know just saying who knows where they are anyway but they're almost always online because there are pockets when they're doing shopping and things one fourth will write a review. Can you believe that a fourth of them. Twenty five percent will write a review about it so if you got some kind of product line and you're targeting them they. They will be good at referral so if you're actually have Brooklyn because well and you're seeing some younger people between nine and twenty four you might ask them. They might you the referral much more easier than a sixty year old they value their family's opinion family and friends other reviewers compared here too like celebrities which is an interesting thing so they don't care about that paid celebrity as much as their own family friends and other people that have reviewed okay peer to peer reviews are obviously just say it is the most important having word of mouth. They really like that because pay somebody else use it means is good. Okay Sixty eight percent said they would check. I very often so they don't just buy a product. They don't just go somewhere sixty eight percent of them. WanNa make sure it's cool I as far as what reviews they're listening. They're looking at eighty percent. We'll check friends and family. Sixty five percent will check on social media and seventy nine percent will show some kind of online reviews now as far as trusting so those were people that would check but when you want to trust fifty eight percent will trust your friends and family forty percent will trust social. WPRO followers but eighty percent will trust the online reviews so that that was kind of interesting yeah. Your friend liked it. Your mom liked it sure but all these strangers liked it from all kinds of different cities and countries and states so I thought that was chemical and one thing they said you WanNa bring it on home that age group generation Z.. You got to have your forms online doctors. You need to have them text reminders and you need to have an online scheduler. Now is not that expensive man you know check out APP SUMO SUMO DOT COM. And you know, he's he's a great athlete. So it's fun to watch him. The ace surprise lead people asked you what's that what's the vibe going into this year might be a little bit more targeted? Now from other teams, they kind of know you guys. I mean, we just want to get out to a good start. We've finished so strong last year. And we started off slow, and we still had a great year. So I think that's what we need to do to catch. Houston. Win the division this year. What's the most exciting thing about playing on this as team for me? It's playing at home. We we create our own energy. We we have great clubhouse. We all have a good time on and off the field. What's the first thing that comes to mind when when I say Jackie Robinson? He was the most courageous baseball player to play the game. And what's that has had an impact on you die like in knowing that will. Yeah. I think that the crowd may be on Seattle side a little bit more with some of their personnel. But you know, we've had a lot of support from the Japanese media and his people who've come into our camp to talk to us. So it's been very very welcoming. What do you hope to take away from the experience when you're over there? Hopefully to win says the most important part is those are those are regular season games division games. And that's that's the main focus. Okay. Some fun stuff. Who's your favorite player to watch right now? Not on your team. It's a good one. I think Linda. And you can expand on these answers or not doesn't least favourite pitcher to face. Dell and batons is because he's he's a monster out there, and he throws more sliders and fastballs yet he throws a hundred miles an hour. Steal one players tool. What would it be? Probably. Somebody's power. I mean, I guess Chris Davis is power. We've had that answer a few times best dancer on the team or most entertaining. Chad pender. He's he's got some nice moves. Three or four people incident. Best singer on the team. Wow..

"I think could make a big jump this year. We talked about defense, but the guy at number thirty four Matt Chapman of the as is as good a defender as you'll find at any position, including his former high school teammate Nolan are an auto and he can swing the bat. So I, you know, he if he goes puts up another, you know, really good offensive season. I think that match happened some of that can move up. Yeah. Carlos correa. Number twenty seven. I agree with you. I think the question now about Chapman is you know, how healthy are going to be at the beginning of the season. Because he's kind of you know, had an off season where he's been danged up when I asked you about what Jacob degrom told reporters yesterday. Day. He was asked about his contract negotiations. He's made it clear that after the season starts. He doesn't wanna talk about that extension. He said he's optimistic in reading between the lines. And look that's what you would say. Even if it wasn't going great because you wanna put it aside and defer questions from knuckleheads like me. But I gotta believe that internally the Mets no they have to get this done book, especially Brodie van wagon, and who used to represent the Graham who came out when he was his agent and said, basically, look either pay him or trade him and talked about it that time how preeminent the degrom is since then two grams won the Cy Young award. He's the most important player in the organization. He's got all kinds of leverage. So when Graham said this that he's optimistic I'm taking that if as value, and I gotta believe they're making some progress. What do you think? But you would think I mean, I it's it is a curiosity to me in terms of the way. Yeah. For for Brody the way that the role shifts where you you go from first and foremost being an advocate for the player to first and foremost being an advocate for the team. And how does your perspective get Shaked based on those two positions simplistic as that sounds? I mean, it's it's as unique a woah Vercel as one person could possibly have. So look this guy is as brilliant a pitcher is there isn't a game. So I would love to see him. Stay in New York personally. Just because I I think yes. The performance that he's put together it's been has been incredible. So, yeah, I I mean, I think that's all you can do is just is just take it as all right? So they're working on something that it sounds like this. May get done. Yeah. A lot of times players are a year or two behind a win evaluating guys with other teams. And I was amazed. When I went through the Braves camp when we were talking about, okay? Who's the best pitcher in baseball who someone you liked to watch. Everybody was talking about to Graham, and they talked about him with the sort of admiration that, you know, adjust invert Lander gets a Clayton Kershaw gets in at that's how dominant he was last year yesterday. We got word of at Houston Astros pitcher Francis. Tests has been suspended eighty games following a positive test for a banned performance enhancing, drug you. Josh you want to give this a shot at the pronunciation of is it. Oh, yes. Comb if Cuomo Fien, it's Klima phen-. Okay. It's a female for Tila drug booed, which is why we got some tweets in response to this news in Rica Peres tweeted, will he be able to get pregnant a question about Marta says he comes back from this suspension. And Chris Wittman tweeted out. Cortes or seems eighty games in six months maternity leave so boob. When I saw this news yesterday. I saw this news yesterday. Yeah. Exactly. I I like those tweets, but I feel like I'm just not surprised by anything anymore. It's just regular shoulders like, Yep. Okay. That's what's going on..

"Good job. Dallas. Do you? Do you believe in karma? It's bullshit. That's that's I feel like you type that out. That's an asshole move. Tremendous J. Hey, Twitter questions. Who would you put your money on to win an MVP in their career? If you had to pick one, Matt Chapman or Trevor story. Yeah. Chappie? I mean. Yeah. Full I'm going full package. Not to knock Trevor stories defense by any means, but chappy is a different beast. Yeah. I'm obviously being a massive Homer here and not take away from from from store. But I mean, I think Chapman. I mean. Yeah, I watched the dude I will. Here's the quote on before you continue. The other thing about story is that he's on a team with Nolan are not. Oh, so like if even if Trevor's story, what did he lead the league in it was either like it was ribs or doubles or something like that? Even if he has a standout season, you know, that no one's going to be taking MVP votes away from him. So it's gonna be hard to stand out on his own team. Chappie is get a clearer path, MVP wise, so Chapman. This is a pretty we made this Nolan aeronautical heavy podcast on purpose. But this is a pretty important question. Given the news over the past week or two Dallas will start with you. How worried should we be about Clayton Kershaw getting another injury? And so soon in spring training or this person called it an entry if you don't wanna call it injury. Then the discomfort that he continues to experience. Yeah. Look, man. I don't know how many of those guys on TV you're going to say it. Also. It's about time. You look at the mechanics, and it's about time. I think to start looking at where the issues are coming from. And we've watched these issues kind of creep up Abbadi of Clayton Kershaw. Right. We've gone from low back mid bat. Now, we're working at the shoulder for me. This is this is what we call correlation. I think like I'm starting to see I don't know if it's necessarily a breakdown, but we are starting to see Clayton Kershaw not be Clayton Kershaw. And it's happened for a while. He's done a tremendous job of Justin in light of some discomfort in light of some physical hindrances. But I think a lot of people initially wanted just chalk it up to spring training. Chalk it up to him getting getting back on his feet getting on that grind. Right. Would he have last year? Bicep tendonitis. So he's had some issues here. And for the folks at home who are listening. If you can't do it in your car because you can't I've tried, but when you get onto dry land, just take yourself through Clayton Kershaw mechanics and take one of your.

"He went to seventy eight twenty four only sixty eight Rambis because he was up near the top of the line of a hundred runs and. Just the one stolen base. That's not part of his game. But I think there's more pop here. I think there are. There are thirty homers in that bat, and I think he he can continue to hone that that walk rate as well. And keep that oh BP firmly in the three fifty plus range. So I love Matt Chapman. I'm definitely going to have multiple shares. I already do really based on the drafts. And I've done I have more than one on share of Chapman. So how do you feel about him? Matt Chapman is a launch angle tweak and not like a big change like a little tweak away from hitting thirty five or forty home runs. Like, I'm not talking like he he's going to hit thirty home runs this year. Like, even if he changes nothing. If he makes a little bit of a tweak. He's the guy who can hit forty home runs. Oh, exactly. And I think he is he's a premium defensive player gorgeous cast page, by the way, whoever whoever does like this that stat cast pages over on baseball savant, dude. I love the new setup it just it looks good so clean. And so William man. No. He's the main guy. I don't know if he does everything probably not it. It's it's just it's beautiful and so easy to navigate now. Exit velocity in the ninety seven th percentile hard hit percentage in the ninety third percentile. Here's one that. I didn't realize though watching play defense. I should his sprint speed eighty first percentile superfast. Yes. You know, how I learned that and they'll be the show. The only thing that is kind of below league average is this launch angle, and it's just a little bit below league average. So like if he could just tick up that launch angle that exit velocity and a hard. Contact or is gonna shoot his homers through the through the roof. He's he's going to be a Chris Davis with average in Z at at third base. It just I was going to mention Chris Davis. Maybe Chris Davis. Can you know hit him with some tips and say, hey, you know, this this little tweak here that you can do with your swing can really unlock something. Yeah. I mean, the thing of it is to is. He doesn't need to improve to be worth pick one thirteen. I can kind of just get a repeat here and feel twenty comfortable with that. But I think I'm buying some upside with Matt Chapman as well. I love this guy is famous players walks. Yeah. Ten nine percent walk rate. Ten percent in in his eighty four games the year before I I really do like a Oakland. Matt not necessarily a double tap, actually. Yeah. They are pretty close that I could double tie them. But I can totally understand doing that. I still see thirty five homers there. He's got an. Insane power. But yeah, I like the the Oakland Matt double tap there. So that's about Chapman. We're very bullish on him. I'm going to continue to buy him everywhere. Five four next guy over Myers Shaw. Donaldson and Turner. Donaldson's the only one I wouldn't. It's Donaldson then Chapman for me agree on the route. Donaldson was the easiest. Does the easiest calm. And it it it it totally fits right down to the elite defense being in Oakland like it all adds up..
