"America, he's done well with toluca he did fantastic at Leon. He already has the European experience under Javier aguirre. Well, for him when he won zolo, that's a different story. But I mean, it's not even a question. That's a no brainer. Don't get me wrong. I'm a fan of Guillermo. Huge fan. He's right now probably he's the best manager in Liga MX. But it doesn't necessarily translate. Being the great manager at a club level, then in a national team level. So the fact that Ignacio and Marissa knows everything about the Mexican national team because of his time as a player and captain to me makes it super simple. He has to be of Sinéad between them too because I don't even think that he's the best option overall. But between them too, I would go with Matt chambers. Yeah, between the two I think is relevant context here because I would go outside of the two, but between the two, they've only, is it two finals for not John barris? Was it Guillermo malas will be his third final in Liga mechi? Listen, it's Guillermo manna, let me tell you why. He's had some big clubs, big players. Get on my husband with Santos and pachuca and he's turned these players into big players. He made Niko ivanis and they go there. Two straight finals when you look at the system when you look at the style of play Guillermo mother and how he plays the high tempo. High intensity, being dynamic, being explosive out of the midfield, through wing play is more conducive to the style of play, internationally, today. Not just in concave, but in the world. The most successful teams in the world. And he's proven it in different programs. He's proven at Santos, made them competitive. This is his third final in four seasons and two years. And the two last finals with pachuca. He makes players he makes teams competitive. So when you have a deficiency and talent at a world level because you're in Concacaf, you need to make up with other things like a system, or a style of play, a set DNA. He has that about him. All right, real quick mouth. Before we let you go. Herc is on the record. He's been saying pachuca is going to win Liga mecki since the very beginning of the season. Toluca against pachuca, who you got here in the final. I have her saying something different. But all right, I'll leave you. I think pachuca will win. I think it has to do. They have the better players, the better team. They have been more consistent. That's been key to Luca had their ups and downs, but you can have a very, very consistent, that's why I believe they're the team to beat and most likely they'll win the championship on Sunday. All right, there he is. Mauricio pedrosa, thanks so much. Glad you're back from Espana week. We look forward to seeing you on our back with friends. See you later. On football America. So what does the SPI say, by the way, about the first

"And we were just laugh. And at the end of the year, we had a big we had some end of the year meeting, our fraternity, and he was like, hey guys, I'd love to hear, but I got a transfer to Vanderbilt. I got to go to Nashville music to my heart. I have to pursue this. And we were like, are you serious, dude? It was the least supportive group of any people ever assembled in one room. And that guy's Dirk Bentley, many transfer vandy, he's been nominated for a bunch of Grammys. He sold millions and millions of records. He knew he had something inside of him that was driving him crazy. That he needed to figure it out. And he did, and it's one of my favorite stories of my entire life. It's inspiring. And he just didn't give a shit. He just didn't give a shit. He looked at a room of like 40 to 50 guys between 18 and 22 years old that all laughed in his face. They just laughed at him. Not one guy was like awesome idea, dude. Great plan. What people didn't realize got your back. Right. It was also brilliant. And he got into vandy like that. They were like, no problem. And he just didn't give a shit. Because he knew, no matter what, that's what he was going to do. He's like, I'm going to do this. And whatever. And doesn't mean everybody's going to turn into the next big country star or the next big comedian or even people that want to pursue sports. But you'll kind of know, you'll kind of know inside of yourself where you'll go, this is driving these so crazy that I have to figure this out about myself or you're just kind of get over it and go, you know what? I actually don't need all that shit because it isn't always a blast, man. It isn't, but you know what? There's a lot of other things that are normal. There are a lot easier to pursue that aren't always a blast too. So what would you rather do? I agree. And I think stand ups on my bed was muted. And I think for like stand ups, isn't it like you can't tour if it's this guy? You can't be a road guy unless people other stops down the road want you, right? So you basically have to do it at night and wherever you can get up on stage, right? I mean, the stakes are pretty low for this for a while until you're like, oh shit, it's actually going to start cutting into my into my job and I'm going to have to wonder if I can do my job. Like you're allowed to you're allowed to do these steps because he's going to move, right? If you're going to be in New York City, this is actually very easy to pull off. There's going to be a bunch of places that I'm sure you could probably just, you know, I don't think you're going to be outside of the comedy cellar next week. All right? But just being around it, I would think would be inspiring. You know, sometimes when you have this idea of what you may want to do, at the very least, like being around it, you know, I remember I went to go sit in and watch a radio station and honestly, after I got done with that day, I was like, I don't want these is. Okay? But just being around it. And then, you know, you're going to get up and nobody's going to laugh at you and you're going to either be motivated by the challenge. You're going to be so horrified. You never want to do it again, but at least you'll have answered some of those questions. And that's what I think is always really cool about this stuff. I mean, I don't look, maybe we should have a comedian on and ask them about this, like the getting started and all that stuff. I'm sure there's horror stories. I'm sure there's parts of it that aren't a lot of fun, but I'm sure once you get past a certain point, you look back on it and you're like, you know, the iron sharpens iron stuff where you start to figure some stuff out. Maybe we'll pitch some jokes at bargatze again, have him on. He loved that. That'd be great. That's so well the first time, yeah. I actually have a cousin who is a stand up comedian. And Matt chamber. He's good. He's really funny. Grew up like small town Connecticut like me. He was always funny growing up and he always, I don't know if he ever really always wanted to do this, but it's something that kind of like, it was an itch that he had. And so he went to LA, he's an architect, like had a full-time architecture job like a good job, but he would just do clubs on the side for a while. For years. And honestly, Twitter and really Instagram like blowing up like he does like skip videos now, which he's got a ton of followers and I think that probably helped him. I mean, like, Ryan, you'll appreciate this. He's done shows, and I think he's boys with like the Chad goes deep guys. So he's like in decent circles, but it took him a while to get to that point. And made all these relations, but it's kind of like a it's sort of a networking thing, like you meet people on shows and now he does travel. He's not doing arenas or anything like that, but he's doing big stuff. He's been at the laugh factory in LA, and it was like a very slow burn for him. And he was doing small stuff for free, stuff on social media, just to kind of get his name out there. And I don't know if his goal was to be a full-time comedian. It might be. He's still an architect now, but it is a grind. And you have to basically know that going in. I remember in college when all these people, like we were talking about journalism classes, right? People want to be on air. They want to be reporters, right? And one of the things that one.

"Don't know andrew been a long time since we've seen around. I know you've been doing a lot of cool stuff and this is your first appearance on live so welcome. How are you doing tonight. I appreciate that it's great to be here doing very well tonight. huge fan of the work. He hasn't been doing. Our own buys Worked with dave. Dwi and unfortunately matt chambers unit says well for wile back in the kind of those rough days i think. I think i was around there for the chosen twelve season. But after that. A lotta lotta rough rough times but it's You guys do such a great job Building that online community for me and a lot of us that are involved with alcohol have been have been living outside of atlanta for good portion of our lives. So it's so cool to see it go from those message boards early two thousands of something as bigoted is now and i think you guys are a huge reason for that. So it's here. Yeah we appreciate that. It's nice to have you back on. Were on for the first time back with the crew. I know dave wasn't able to be here but we'll have to make sure to that another time where where you can get together but Appreciate you coming on. Also like i said with us. Odd each odd don. How're you doing this. Evening is actually doing very well today. And then i read something about our twenty year old tight end with the fourth overall draft. Pick being too tired to like. Yeah you're on a play in the red zone drive of of the season. So you know that kind of brought my mood down a little bit. But you know it's the falcons Expect yeah i mean. I'm guessing that he was like they. Were checking them out for an injury. Because i only. Because arthur smith seems to never admit when players injured unless he's like contractually obligated to do so like he hid pagano's like surgery for six months or something like that so i mean that's just kind of his style so that's what i'm going to go with but if it's not that there's not really any good answers for that but we'll we'll yeah. We'll we'll get into that. We'll get into that for sure. You know the obviously red zone woes were a big story. From the falcons week. One shell looking at the hands of the eagles who thirty two to six was the final score. They're not great Joining us to talk about how great it was. We have with us now. Eric robinson mr. Espn at unders. Your eric underscore robinson. Eric how're you doing tonight. I'm doing pretty good about yourself or good. We're good we got Got a full house here with andrew. Her joining us as well so guys. We got a jam packed. Show for you but Yeah tough game offense. Obviously nowhere near what people were hoping for defense. I thought probably did as best as could be expected to do when they had to. Basically play the entire second half and were given no help. What's over the offense. So yeah we're going to get into a guys. We'll talk about all that stuff. We will also get the upcoming game on sunday which would be against the bucks which probably not gonna be. You know much easier. I guess we'll say so. Let's let's get going with talking about what happened in one. There's obviously a lot to get to odd on tonight. Talked to talked about it at length after the game. I'll open it up to you guys. I andrew i guess for you. What was the biggest issue that you saw. In terms of the team general it could be it could be anything just the thing that stood out to the most to you from this one getting from us. The past walking for sure. Jake matthews was solid. Crystalline was solid as well but beyond that it was it was rough And i know it's It's people have had a lot of fun at mayfield's expense or loss. You days and i think this game could go down as the mayfield game. Remember it as but you know to be honest. When i think like long-term falcons where they are right now in twenty twenty one. I'm more concerned about hennessy's and gary's play than about Anything that happened over at left guard hennessy. Supposed to be the heir to alex mack. Gary drafted in the first round years ago. He's not not a rookie more for style. Some injuries but And they both had rough games too and mayfield's well like the third option was got hurt and then interest got her and then he was thrown in there. It's natural position. Is the right tackle in college so for me. You know. obviously it's brutal situation for him But i do feel for him in dealing with all fan hayden the jokes at his expense But i'm more concerned about center and right tackle to be honest because they they struggled in having chance to watch the game back yet hayden. Her was had a really rough game when it came to blocking august. Kyle is not gonna be relied on blocker a whole lot. I don't think we smith Did anything particularly noteworthy either. So yeah that's you know for me. The number one thing by by for your i mean the past blocking was kind of the the blinking. Red light telling you that the car is shutting down because the offense got it got to the point where the offense wasn't functional period and it wasn't that bad the whole game. I mean obviously the first to sort of scripted drives. Offense was great until it really mattered in the red zone and then it sort of fell apart You know..

"Podcast dave walker. I'm with my co host. Gina forever matt online. Kelly almost said thomas. Just like our last voicemail. Threw me off We're listening to what you our listeners. Readers have to say about the falcons eagles game and if nothing else. This has been incredibly entertaining. I love all of you. Thank you for listening to the podcast. By the way we've been around for several years and We don't say this enough. And i know gene feel the same way but we really really appreciate you guys listening and You make this possible and we appreciate the support. You've given us all these years. Absolutely all right next voicemail. Here we go Just let them speak for themselves. I'm the south cans. Fan and from idaho which sounds weird by itself but It's it's been and i've been through you know younger person. But i've seen seen some things for sure talking sin and my real short life span the so far but There are all kinds of performance was really something else really really something else. Rivals that of Some of the worst performances from those super bowl years. But alas i hope why because next season live it really good draft pick. Those are my thoughts. Thank you bye-bye one game in. We're talking about draft. Picks bulkin falcons fan I do love the beginning of the season. Because you know we just don't have enough to go off of yet for any team. I mean it's it's impossible to know how this is going to shake out. And the falcons really did not give us much. Feel good about on sundays. So i do completely understand the overreacting in that direction. Just like oh you know top five drag here we Nfl economic drafted a quarterback. Maybe not that could workout. Who knows of my word. I got nothing to add to that. That was absolutely perfect. Next voicemail here we go just bad. Nece i wanna know though. Why asti falcons rally the other night. I saw michael vick in person. And i love my colleagues. Don't get me wrong. But where's the love for demo anderson. Why does this franchise not love. The dirty birds needed now. Talk about that. 'cause i don't wanna talk about game adults for moving forward week too. Thanks guys. that's that's actually an interesting question. I do not have an answer for that You know jamali. Under sending a heck of a nice guy. Obviously firmly entrenched in falcons history. He's had some pretty generally minor run-ins with the law. You know obviously. So has michael vick and you know i'm not i'm not making any kind of commentary about that. I mean you know. Serve his time. I've talked to him since about the work that he continues to do to help. Prevent dogfighting and You know i feel like he has He has atoned and learned from most importantly learned from what he went through there. But yes so. I don't know if it's You know his run-ins with law in the past air if there's some other kinds of bad blood there but i do think that that's an interesting question. Yeah i really do not know the answer to that. I mean literally the player that invented the dirty bird And was the. They're bringing back the dirty thing this year and henry ford so actually it would make a lot of sense to bring them all into something you a hundred percent and he was the running. Back ezekiel over eighteen hundred yards in the year. The falcons went to their first super bowl. He was absolutely dominant in that offense and unfortunately his career ended with two straight years with an acl tear which was advocating. But yeah i actually do under the same thing. It's such a great point. And that's why we love these voicemails. We get such interesting points like this but jamal jamal anderson with three as defensive mentioned all anderson we all. I think that makes sense to all of us. It makes sense but he's not being brought back for special events and being honored. Thanks but jamal. Winston the running back to as that one is confused. The the wrong jamal. Think the falcons have actually tried to erase his name from wikipedia in fact so to be fair. Alkan says it that we have two jamaa andersen's and one of them is somebody that we never once again as as our favorite writer. Fuck colleague would say matt chambers. He's a bust who next. What our longest voicemail. This one almost hit three minutes. I'm going to let it play out because there's some good points here But here we go yeah. Hey alcoholic Matt year twenty three been a fan my whole entire life And i'm i'm quite. I'm i'm sick of this team. You guys Is just so tough i. I'm already not a huge fan of what this regime has done in the front office. I mean just. I mean obviously we have to stick it out and see where they go. obviously more than one way to skin a cat but just starting right out the gate. I'm just not a huge fan of anything they've done. I mean you know. They drafted right tackle doping. They would change his position. Lately was making sense expecting for him to be manageable which didn't make any sense. I just feel like there's some delusion when in this front office that they can just kind of Stern by in and and that's going to be okay and it's just not Between you know mayfield looking god awful and and you know. I wasn't a fan of the draft. Either out by you know the thing which may take that. There was also other guards. There was other guards on the board at that time. Worry play injury autism last. Why not just take one of them. Wide say somebody else in and completely switched them completely swisher position but anyway I was on the justin feels train Just the quarterback and you go on from there. Looking team is going nowhere next couple years. You're going to need multiple giraffes to even think about competing competing. And by that on that ryan will have been close to forty and we who the hell knows what he's going to look like ben so why even risk that and keep kicking the can down the road anywhere in you know. Everybody says oh you. Can't trade them this much money and all of this all. There's not get the financial aspect. But i feel like if you're gonna trade him you're gonna trade mean you're going to have to eat the money you're gonna have to eat the dead cap anyway so it doesn't matter just waiting isn't gonna do anything so i was. You know. definitely on just accuse train and then you know just being metal just middling. I think that's the final thing is just being average and and you know not being good enough to where you're drafting and twenty eight or thirty two or something like that but not being bad enough to where you're drafting in you know and i just think that maybe not just the top on the top or something like that but you know at sixteen seventeen. What would you really expect so I think that that's purgatory in. Its own and so I appreciate you guys Listening so Cheaper bulk reward. Wow there was a lot there gina. Yeah he something released. The doubts me at that i think is valid. Point was his He mentioned Jalen mayfield having to switch positions and david as you know that is one of my biggest pet peeves when people are like oh offensive. Linemen are interchangeable because all the positions are very different actually and is a very big adjustment to from playing. You know exterior lines imperial lines so Yeah i think that you know. A lot of people have questions about what they were thinking with. Mayfield and i think that after what we saw him do on sunday by those fair and i had this conversation with someone else recently as well the the whole mindset and to be fair this is not just the falcons but there is a mindset in draft..

"Jin. How do you feel about a. I think a really well rounded group. I think that they cover all the basil's that they need from this tight ends group I love it You brought up the patriots ten years ago. Think this duo has the potential can say they're one hundred percent reach this but i think they have that same kind of potential to be that one two punch at tight end that could just absolutely frustrated defensive coordinator all year long and Yeah it's for me. It's a plus in that high range but really really excited about this group. Okay we're gonna talk about wide receivers. We're gonna talk about offensive line because what's interesting here is feel like there's some really good things to say and in some really not so great things to say but before we do that. We're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back and we're back on alcoholic. Podcast is david walker. i'm joined by gina. Kelly matt chambers. We're talking about the falcons offense fifty three man roster our grades for this unit overall going into the season. We've talked about quarterback running back tight end. Let's talk about the wide receivers gina our top two guys Who jones has gone. I don't want to talk about the anymore. That is a a topic. Been beating the death. We still have the amazing. Calvin ridley and russel gage as our two starters and i do want to point out. This is something. I think that holds some weight. The falcons depth chart shows that they will be starting season in a twelve formation. So one running back to tight ends as their starters Dirk cutter last year. Had three wide receivers as the starting offense so this is a bit of a change. I think this is indicative of what we're going to see from arthur smith. He was no coach. Ran the twelve formation more than he did last year in the. Nfl looks like he's going to bring that to atlanta which we all suspect he would. But right now to starters calvin bradley russell gauge how they feel about these two guys. I feel great about these. two guys. you know i don't want to belabor the julio thing either but there's just no real replacing and i emphasise caliber but i still don't feel terrible about these starters Allama days achille's. He is a guy who can make some plays You know kirsten blade has certainly potential to be decent coming off the bench. I love rank darby so far the as far as starters. I feel pretty good about them. Met tell ridley russell gauge are you. You mentioned you. You actually mentioned. Julio jones earlier. And i think the this really becomes more of a conversation the depth but now that gauges sort of stepping into that wide receiver to roll. How do you feel about those two guys in what they are going to offer the team this year. Well i did feel a lot better about the wide receivers last year the ornaments julio thing so i still feel i still pretty good i. I know that our own La sorry ellen sturt. It's turk start. We can edit. This sturt did a heated. A film review that i just posted on friday on kind of looking at his development because he did start off as kind of a gadget player. Like i think he was. I think he was the six round. Pick like he He played like a couple of positions or something in atlanta stuck humane wide receiver. And and he i. I've been quite with him as a player of really kind of piggybacking off posters article. He's developed really really well and my my only question there is. If he can stay healthy he has all these like crazy acrobatic catches where you're like i can't believe he cut that and then usually landing like little on his back buddy or something and the miss miss two games or something like that hoe medicinal conditioning. Or something we'll we'll help that we probably don't need to talk about calvin really he's he's legit definitely the best reverend In the in the nfl green red zone target like you great player. You can jump very high or anything. But outside of that. I think he's got like seventy years old nine years old. It's amazing what he can what he can do as geriatric wide receiver. I think that's fair. Like i mean my thirties. My back for so i can't i can't imagine his needs like he probably sees the ball and he's like i'm not it's not worth it to jump for that and you know a fair or not but i mean you really obviously like that is a number one wide receiver. I think gauge gave fifth. Well is knowing your standard wide receiver to like he. He can be pretty good. Maybe we're going to be on seventeen games but You know. I think he could probably flirt with close to a thousand yards receiving if he stays healthy. Yeah and that's a the seventeen game. Point is actually really important because it does sort of make you look at the depth in wonder. Okay if over a longer season Can you keep both these guys helping healthy four seventeen games and if not who steps up in their place and jin mention the names of as a kiss who i think is actually like. He's he's looked good. The past you know the past year he looks like a player then great. Some separation runs good routes christian blake. I mean like if i could say some good things. If you're forced me to tasha sharp like this is where. I think the the depth really falls off a bit. I didn't even realize shirt made the roster. Wow surprised to me too. When i was for our got. Okay okay okay. Good ties as start. Frank darby i. i'll be honest. I think with frank darby. I think the team just didn't wanna move on from a player that they drafted. I think they're stashing him on the fifty three man roster. I will be surprised if he's even active on game days because he he was very limited in what he could do in the pre season and appears to have very little special teams values. So that's going to be a problem as well. So yeah after a really engaged like first of all rid league. I think he showed in the joint practices in miami that he is going to be an absolute stud this year like. He's he deserves to be drafted in the top five in the league. He's going to be out. He's always been good in the red zone And it like last year a thirteen fourteen hundred yards close to that as you know..

"And we're here with a quick news. Update some of the items surrounding them falcons. And fortunately we're going to start off with sad piece of news Because of the content deuce before warranted this involves child sex allegations but falcons have released a veteran linebacker arkadiusz mingo. He signed this offseason for about a million dollars guaranteed. It came out this weekend After he was arrested and released on twenty five thousand dollars bond that he was alleged to have committed child sexual contact to child sex offense. This incident apparently occurred Two years ago july fourth weekend of two thousand nineteen. I don't wanna get into too many of the details. They're pretty graphic and not something that we want to rehash here. At the alcoholic you can go to the alcohol dot com. We have a couple of articles up about mingo including The cap implications of Terminating his contract At this point Likewise includes some information towards an sl article that you can read. That has some of the more You know Lascivious details of what happened Before warned before you read that it is explicit. it is disturbing and police keep that in mind before you go and read anything related to this I think given the allegations Given the fact that The police felt that there was enough there to arrest him This was the right. Move by the falcons. They they didn't have a choice here in realistically. I think if they had tried to wait this out even just from a public relations standpoint. It would have been a disaster for the team. This was the only move they had Reasonably i've seen some people argue. They could've put him on the reserved lists the commissioners reserved exempt list While the investigation continued but This is too toxic. This is something you have to get away from and to be blunt in mingo was here on a one year deal. It was not like he was being counted on to be a. You know a corner piece of this which is going forward. He was a veteran Honestly one that has never lived up to his First round billing as draft pick and this is unfortunately a move. That for the falcons They're forced to make and as for the cap implications Matt chamber has a breakdown at the alcoholic dot com. If you wanna get into the details but he signed a one. The mingo signed a one point. Two five million dollar contract with one point one million guaranteed he got a signing bonus of one hundred. Seventy five thousand falcons won't be able to do anything about that. That will hit the books now. The question is if the falcons had some language in the contract that allowed them to avoid it In the case of something like this misconduct or whatnot. It's almost a certainty that they did so more than likely they'll be able to get back. Roughly that one million in cap space that was allocated towards him for the season And right now the falcons have about nine and a half million in available cap space This will add you. Know about a million back to that. So they've got the money to go out and find a replacement for mingo and again. This is not a player that has been a significant contributor since he's entered the league So it's not like there. There's a precipitous. Drop off for the falcons defense which already had question marks going into the season. I don't think anyone thought that mingo was going to be the difference maker for this defense So you have to wonder at this point. The falcons do need some more pass rush help. Could they look at justin houston Who is you know. he's he's on the wrong side of thirty but as a pass rush specialist. Someone who just comes in for that purpose He could make a lot of sense. Of course houston did go to. Uga so there are some connections to the state. you've got other names like melvin ingram olivier vernon Who are guys who are currently recovering from injury. And then you have some other guys. Like trent murphy. Adrian clayborn everson griffen Chambers does a great job of covering this at the alcoholic dot com. Go there For his right up on what the falcons may need to do. But again the falcons have rightfully terminated. And this is interesting. There's some different details here. That i think you guys need to pay attention to in the past. Obviously the last time fans were able to be at training camp was in two thousand nineteen up at flowery branch. There is a limited number of dates in the past. I think we had two and a half. Maybe three weeks worth of dates. That fans could go up to Flowery branch and watch the team practice. This is a little bit over a week worth of practice and in total there are six training. Camp dates that are open to the public The first of those dates is saturday. July thirty first The practice at nine thirty. Am the gates open at eight. Thirty am The next day. "Some mimeograph Piece of paper that you had to scan none allies So i think we're going to see a lot of that Under the huge Industry they're waiting to happen. Themselves of finalizing are already happening. Obviously in terms of analyzing all these eliza formation that so many organizations are sitting on. Now i the mocked throughout as can answer what the future of a i was going to be. We'll just looking at how it is now. I think many people don't realize just how. Ai affects almost everything they do today. Right like in. And ai determines like what's gonna you know come up in their feet on facebook or apple's going to show them on their phone for news or you know all those different things and probably from i think is that a is gonna be start being much more like in your face with self driving cars and that kind of stuff. It's not going to be you know this underlying Just presenting things. It's it's going to be a lot more automation things like that in the future. Yeah i think so. I mean this is one of those ongoing conversations with That we've had every time we do a podcast but also just when we have conversations that are with their clients in many of our listeners. Know that we we have an analyst firm. That's what we do here. We spend a lot of time a market research and we spent a lot of time talking to companies and government organizations and we were recently talking to a chief data officer for a very large state and this person was telling us that you know when we were saying. Oh you know here. The seven patterns of ai and going through all the seven patterns and our listeners may know all those patterns you know. Well i'll save for those. Maybe a new here so the recognition pattern which we've been talking a little about today it's also the conversational pattern the patterns and anomalies pattern basically detecting patterns anomalies or predictive analytics pattern hyper personalization autonomous systems and goal driven systems. And each of these are there all just different applications of no new secret sauce. It's not like we're we've invented some new kind of machine learning to do one pattern and the other. It's just that the reason why we use these patterns is because it's helpful when you have a conversation to people are saying they're doing a at one person. Yeah i'm doing a chat bottle in nlp system and some also saying i'm doing recognition system. Their applications are very different. Even if we're using the same underlying technology and so these patterns are a very sort of helpful handle to to have a consistent conversation. Anyway we were. We were talking about these patterns and this person said well wait a second line of this is predictive analytics machine learning. That's not even really. I mean because they're from a state that's been doing for a long time and that's not even really i'm like well you know it's sort of like that barrier as to what's what's not has a lot to do with with how new it is to to you and you know to the extent that we're using data derive insights that are truly derived from data. So there is a difference between programmatic and you know Rules based systems at a human codes. Which is basically depending on human knowledge and human intelligence and yet another thing for a machine to derive that incite for itself from the data. Even if you look at the cody like this this is just bits. And bites and data and statistical reasoning and blah blah blah. The answer is yeah. Of course it is but then again if you think about how your brain works it's just a bunch of neurons firing impulses..

"We have a lot of a lot of listeners. Here on this podcast. I sort of this idea of the value. Extracting valuable features from data is is really one of the core challenges right. This is kind of where it's like. Humans are just. We're just so good at at knowing what to pay attention to. We're really good at categorizing things you know. Someone can create a new kind of pie or something. We know it's pie. We don't have to be trained on that. Computers aren't so great. You know this whole we talked earlier. Podcast about learning and one shot learning. And you know semi supervised learning these approaches that maybe maybe we can get computers to be better with less data. But i think that's one of the one of the challenges. So maybe you could talk a little bit more about extracting feature sets and valuable features and maybe to some extent. You know also some of the barriers that you're seeing to machine learning adoption. You know maybe that's related to this idea of data labeling or and beyond and it was kind of a bit of a two part question you guys can hopefully take a little bit of a little bit of that in terms of barriers these with with feature vectors. we're storing them inside of database and they can be very large and we've written our own proprietary plug ins for this database which allow us to compare feature vectors generated by neural network. Which is more or less how we've implemented image similarity search our video similarity search and things like that. So the expertise that you need to. I not only have Be able to understand what the feature vector is in how you can use it and how you get it out of the neural network and then how you could quantifies it and then store it. In a way that's going to be scalable to search millions and millions of images and then you know have all that stuff deployed. It's a very large team of people that have to figure out how all that stuff is gonna work. And that is one of. I.

"And it's very hard to like combed through this eight and find things that you might want to reuse or even that. You just made the day before. Like i've been in meetings you know or or dailies are or reviews where someone said. Oh i'm gonna pull up. You know the new the next the trailer that we all spent time you know working twelve hour days You know trying to get done for you know for you. Know a super bowl commercial or something like that and then no one can find it because there's just so much data that there's so many things going into the system that you just for trailer it's gonna pull up like two thousand trailers and so being able to search that data in different ways you know beyond just the keyword can be can be very useful another another thing. That is an interesting problem. Is that specifically for movie studios or or you know. Animation houses is that they may have Elements characters objects that are not really based on a reality by like imagine. I like some science fiction series of movies right on your how like spaceships of some sort There isn't a previous knowledge of what those things are. And that means that the and any let's say by able to train on those things so you basically not only have unstructured data but also those are not got some dogs right that you can actually easily find cut from dogs because the star of machine learning models that have seen those things before You have like a spaceship that you never seen before. So how the last fight for that. The highly detect those. So that's where things like Say being able to generate feature vectors for for For the data that that that is unstructured. You have got to be very valuable. And that's where the distinction between Browse is essential we. We often make Become super interesting i can. I can go deeper into these if you you want me to. But i don't want to talk to sure. That actually leads into our next question. And i know that for our audience. Many of our podcast listeners. Also attend our conferences are virtual conferences. And so i know that buna. I called sarah back. Then was a sponsor of our machine leonard Are machine learning life cycle conference. And so if you'd like to watch any of their videos on replay. They also did an ask an expert session. We had both met and wanted that. you can go to emily. Life cycle dot.

"I've worked on the hobbit and the planet of the apes movies and some marvel movies and all those movies generate tons and tons and tons of data in so at buna. I you know. My main role is the principal architect in its to manage a lot of customers data that they are trying to organize on the back end so taking the the results of the aml algorithm running in putting the database in normalizing that data. So people can then searching compare it in determining what's be best for them bueller i Do that science and machine learning brunei. I also have a like the previous life at career in computer graphics on visual effects I worked on Movies like shrek madagascar. Let the wally different studios What's interesting having done. The transition from Computer graphics and visual effects to machine learning and data science is that We were back. Let's say in the nineties doing computer graphics visual effects we were doing big data before it was cool in a way Were dealing with. That's not said again right. We were dealing with this huge production of data. I you that number of assets on images that you generate four for an animated movie or for heavy affects movie. It's it's staggering. It's not just the frame that you generate degenerate in our dozens of elements per frame basically. So so i feel like that was an excellent segue careerwise to what we're doing now fantastic. Well it's a really interesting background. We don't always have folks with a background in computer graphics especially in motion pictures because that is that's serious people you know. Whip out our cameras and you got everything from tiktok instagram. We're all familiar with that. But it's much bigger deal when you're talking about the large data. The big data super data at movie theaters. As a matter of fact. That may be what i think. A lot of folks who may not be in the motion picture industry may relate to this idea of having lots of data especially unstructured data. Know we talk about that a lot. You know it's one thing to have data sitting database with lots of rows and columns that we can easily query. It's yet another thing to have. Peto bite zetter bytes of data that are completely unstructured that are basically on practically raw binary. Blobs that we wanna make better use of and and of course that's of the promises of artificial intelligence is that we can extract all this extra value from this unstructured data. So maybe you guys can give us some insights and some challenge. Maybe perhaps some of the challenges that organizations face today when they're trying to make sense of their unstructured data especially video data as it relates to what they're trying to with machine learning and artificial intelligence. I probably give give one example right off with. Is that when you are generating huge amounts of unstructured data such as video. Just not really enough time to go through in tag all manually. So typical visual effects studio. We'll generate like a million images day or maybe even more than that from those images certain lines are are are selected to make movies to you know show directors or producers and things like that um and these very large libraries of of data going back many years.
