"Picks people often ask me of prosecuting. The mob is like the movies well. there is violence. He cracks his guys over the head. And pop. Just like a melon pop. There are hits so it wasn't just permission to to take a map of permission to take out his own nephew. But after taking down over one hundred mobsters i can tell you this. The real thing is much more interesting. I'm elian honing former mob prosecutor and host of the new podcast up against the mob up against the mob lifts the veil on the world's most secretive criminal organization cosa nostra. We'll talk to prosecutors former mobsters an undercover agents and unlike hollywood all these stories are true. New episodes drop every wednesday starting september eighth. Listen and follow up against the mob on apple podcasts. Spotify or your favorite podcast app. Let's get to the good this team. Jimmy garoppolo sala game ally. Mitchell solid game. he lo- samuel wide receiver. one level. type game yes ford. Really great pass wraps one leads to pick six. One is the sack nick. Bosa had had a hell of a day kudos to the offensive line as well for the forty niners trance always going to be trained but lincoln had a really good day. Even though shanahan said fifty one percent of the muffed bumble to start the first Possession of with the forty niners was fifty. One percent of it was alex. Max fault but veteran guy like himself literally did not affect him a single moment in the game just literally you know soon as he got back on the field for that second series forgot about it essentially bronchial had a really good day especially in the run game. And and same with mike. Mcglinchey run skill mcglinchey. Were the only two that did allow one pressure and No sacks. I believe that sack of garoppolos was tally to church kiddle. If i'm not mistaken or might have been elisha. Mitchell was kill but yeah because kills supposed to have the edge but yet he went to go block down inside. That was his no responsibility. So it's not terrible safety blitz as well. It wasn't an edge. Rusher was the safety blitz ally mitchell. Wow you nine. Hundred zero four touchdown we all we just talked about where he moisture in his opponents to this offense but elisa mitchell showed well we saw in college great burst what i was surprised with physicality at the point of attack. The physical ability to run through tackles arm tackles breaks tackles. Just keep his legs moving and fall forward. They're very rarely. Do we see them fall backwards or make a you know lose yardage one big hit in the whole but he got right back up Mitch was very impressive. The niners found something there and as always find something late in the draft. You know with these running backs whether it's under the fridge late round pick absolutely in like when you think of mitchell you don't especially think of someone who's a guy that's gonna run through a middle of the defense in between the guards but yet elisha mitchell did that. He had a ten yard carry when running in between the center and the guard left guard. I should say. And then he had another twenty art kerry when he ran in between the the center and the right guard and then he had a twenty three yard carry when he took it around. George on the right end of that offense flying. So you're seeing a mixture of his you know of a bag essentially with elisha mitchell. He's not a one one play cat. He can run in between the guards nash. Just for a rookie. With a four. Four speed at five eleven. That's just not looking to just get me outside of the title and get me outside of the tackle no. I'll do whatever you told me to do. Buzz and you want me to run and be right next to the center. I'm gonna run right next to the center and put up you know. Twenty yard kerry here So that's why you like to see what the of mitchell usually like. You wouldn't be to surprise if you're getting back kind of rep from a first round running back safe. It was nausea harris in his offense doing that. You've like okay. Yeah he's supposed to do that. This is what he was expected to do. But the fact that. You're seeing no elisha mitchell do that. Who was six round pick of this team. Literally all thirty two teams passed up on elisha mitchell of the for the forty niners decided to go ahead and select them and he's looking like a hell of a player a hell of a player in like what you said it's more or s to where he's not going down essentially on the first contact like say a matt brita would And someone with his speed. That's what you enjoy to where can have that four four speed. But yet he's not an easy takedown and he's actually pretty pretty built for his size. He he's not. You know a slender man. Out there. At the running back position or he's not as as small is That cat from From the chicago bears. They're they're running back to over there. That had the season ending injury tariq cohen. There we go. I figure when i just talk about him. A little more than names in pop in my head So he's not as small as a as a tariq cohen by yet he could do a whole lot a whole lot more damage when running the ball. Mitchell had seven attempts to the right side of the often line for sixty four yards and a touchdown and then Left side wide left was seven attempts for twenty seven yards so is outside. Zone fits in well. He was explosive on those runs. He looked very very good. The niners have found something with this six round pick. And they're gonna need to perform. And they're all gonna trade sermons perform and their need to michael hasty to perform Where they do with another running back position. Maybe they've bring someone else in they cover with those three backs and jeff. Wilson is on the mend. You should be back by week six or you know week eight. That's a plus. Get him back over. The niners can survive these first six weeks. Just these three bags without having to go into the well of free agency or just other. You know poaching guys off other practice squads so now do johnson from jacksonville. I mean you're miami guy. I guess i mean they have seven million dollars cap to play with the last thing do is but he's trained trained in a trade super cheap seventh round. Pick to send it. Okay i'll be down. Philip linzie and his offense i'll be down. One hundred percent fits perfectly good. Deebo samuel absolute stud yesterday outside of his fumble a hell of a day. Deebo nine receptions on twelve targets one hundred eighty nine yards and a touchdown had he not fumbled. He likely is the. I mean. he's probably still a player of the game. But he's definitely getting some player of the game recognition if that was if he didn't fumble that last reception he made dwell heard all the chatter. He's a extension of the run game. He's a glorified running back. No this is what we talked about. What i've been harping on with would him. He's more than that. He's going to be able to get down. The field deebo samuel. His average separation was three point. Nine eight according to next gen stats. The average for the league is two point. Eight seven yards. He literally had a yard more than the average and yes lobby was skimmed open. But a lot of is his route. Running into the ability to scrimmage and be guys to is point where he needs to get to in the routing touring and if you go look next gen stats with some of these charts. Divas route was absolutely beautiful So he's more than just this jets. We push past type of receiver. He's going to be able to get downfield run. Those jeff routes run those deep posts. Give jimmy garoppolo really good target to throw to I thought he had a hell of a game. He was really good in the run blocking and even blocking for george kit on on for his reception. So deebo gives you everything. I would've liked seila more. We'll get to that later. Deibel had himself a hell of a game. What i like about this. This game is seen him downfield seeing him in the third tier of a defense trying to break those tackles compared to having to get past the first here to the second tier then in the third tier. It's just a lot more work for the man. And that's what i enjoy with. Deebo samuel. it's you weren't just like kidding yourself when you watched yesterday's game while you listen to this game will be two days ago on sunday to where you felt like depot was getting targeted downfield a.

"Fans are a little livid about it, too. So the Steelers are going to have the ball about the Buffalo 22 yard line, trailing by a score of 10 to 6. The Bills had another fourth and one in Pittsburgh territory at the Pittsburgh 41. They got cute. Josh Allen threw a backwards past and Matt Brita I don't think Brita was going to throw the ball because from what I could see, there weren't any bills receivers in the pattern, so I don't know exactly what they were thinking. Unless they're going to go back to Alan. Possibly I. It was blown up so quickly by Cameron Sutton. That we really didn't get a chance to see what the bills had in mind on that play, but it was a backwards pass that they lost eight yards on so that the Steelers were able to start this drive on the Buffalo on their own 48 yard line. And no Najee Harris finally is getting a chance to find some yardage, which he hasn't been able to do all game. Just a little while ago he had a nine yard run, and he just had another Fairly long run now, so now in 18 yard run, so the Pittsburgh Steelers are now going to have a first and goal on the Buffalo five yard line and you were. We were talking a little bit earlier about. Maybe the Pittsburgh Steelers should go for a touchdown as they had a first and goal or a third goal situation in the fourth and goal situation. They settled. For Boswell 20 yard field goal so that he has two short field goals by Boswell. We see if they can get their first touchdown of this game and take the lead in this game. As they got the first and goal from the Buffalo five yard line, and before I leave, I just want to see if they happen to score on this play, and they do. So the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to take the lead. It was a bobble play by in the end zone, but it's going to be a touchdown by Deontay Johnson, a five yard TD he was well covered by one by Wallace. But, yeah, that's going to be a good catch in the Steelers are going to take the lead, and we'll see if they get the extra point. But either way they are going to have the lead right now. It is 12 10 pending the extra point staler, sending a little bit of an early statement that they're still here and trying to make the playoffs this year. What a catch. That was, though by the anti Johnson. I think he got both feet in bounds so The Steelers up, we'll see if they could finish the game. There was a turnover from the Washington football team where the Chargers able to capitalize Let's go to the Rooster and Chris Russell. Yes, they were Zack and they've taken a 2016 lead with 11 21 left to go Justin Herbert just hooking up on the three yard touchdown throw and catch for Mike Williams in the back quarter of the end zone. Right after that turnover that you were talking about, which was Antonio Gibson. He was upended and fumbled and it was forced by Qaseer White and recovered by Kenneth Murray. Uh, for the Chargers, and that was just moments after Justin Herbert was picked off inside the Washington five yard line by William Jackson, the third who, of course, signed a big contract, leaving Cincinnati and coming over to Washington. It was the second red zone turnover of the half for the Chargers earlier And I don't think we even got a chance to talk about this month has sweat sacked, Herbert forced a fumble. Oddly, it came as he was throwing the ball shot forward. They ruled it a fumble. They reviewed it, and they kept it as such, despite replays, looking like he was actually throwing the ball so that resulted in a touchback and again a turnover for the Chargers because they were so deep in Washington. Territory. So really, the charges have hurt themselves here, and that's why they only have now a four point lead 20 to 16 with 11 21 left to go again. The big other story in this one is Ryan Fitzpatrick, out with a hip, of course, has not returned when ruled out. He left after just six throwing attempts and 13 yards. In his Washington debut. Taylor Hi, Nikki 10 of 13, a Buck 21 a touchdown and 1 30.6 quarterback rating So far for the Washington football team who trail Los Angeles 22 16 Jack back to you Now, with a little over 11 minutes to go in that contest, we are in the fourth quarter. Under 10 minutes to go, and this one Seattle and Indianapolis, Let's go to Tom McCabe. Yeah. Nine minutes and 56 seconds to be exact here, and the score is the same as it was at the half 21 to 10 Seattle with the lead the defense's for both teams, really taking over. In the third quarter and early here in the fourth quarter. Carson Wentz was just sacked, and it was very costly for Indianapolis. His third sack of the afternoon. It came on fourth down is Indianapolis was driving, trying to put some points on the board. They were down to the 15 yard line of of Seattle, but again once us sacked, and so, um Seattle takes over right now. Tried to put some more points on the board Carson Wentz, making his first start for Indianapolis after not playing at all during the preseason and missing most of our most of the practices. So far this afternoon. He is 19 of 34 184 yards again. He has been sacked three times. Russell Wilson, who's just completed a 20 yard pass is now gone over 200 yards for the game. He's completed 15 of 20. He's also been sacked three times and again. This goes back to the third quarter, when both of the defenses are shining. For both teams. As far as the Russian game goes Indianapolis lacking there, which just 70 total yards 122 for Seattle, Chris Carson with 81 of those Tyler Lockett with 96 yards receiving for Seattle. He has to Big touchdown catches this afternoon. So again, we have nine minutes and 20 seconds to go in this game, and Seattle has the ball and a 21 to 10 lead over Indianapolis. Every game right now is in the second half. Most games are in the fourth quarter. How are they going to end you'll find out when we come on back, and if you're interested In a little wager. If you're believing in Buffalo, I know that it's been a sloppy offensive day for the bills. They're down by three. If you still think the bills are going to come back and win on the live line right now, you can get them as a 2.5 point underdog. And plus 1 10 on the money line will tell you how the second half does play out how the fourth quarter all comes to a close when we come on back. This is ion football. Was that guilt? First up? Let's get an update in here is Seth Cantor. CBS for sale. Sports Flag. All right, Zack, this report sponsored by five hour energy, It's the one when you got to get stuff done..

"Line, though, is a major, and I mean a major concern. As we get set to enter this season, so of Buffalo can't generate a pass rush up against the Steelers. Maybe then it is an unfortunate sign of what could eventually continued throughout this football season. But overall, when you look at Buffalo, it's can they find a way to get to the Super Bowl and win it. They had a very successful season last year. Sean McDermott is a top 10 coach in the league and for the Pittsburgh Steelers. We know the defense is championship caliber. There's no doubt about that. T J Watt, now the highest paid defensive player in the league, Minka Fitzpatrick will probably get a contract extension at the end of this season. Defensively, the Steelers are absolutely awesome. The question will be that offensive line and that will determine If the Steelers make the playoffs or not. Let's be clear about the Steelers. When you look at Pittsburgh, right, the standard is what to win a Super Bowl. I don't think anyone in the country is thinking today that the Steelers are a Super Bowl team. But can they make the playoffs? That's the big question and in the North It's a bizarre times, but it's actually some good times. I do look at a team like Cleveland as the favorite in the A F C North. Unfortunately, the Ravens have already suffered a bevy of injuries. J. K. Dobbins out for the year Marcus Peters out for the year and Gus Edwards, so Baltimore is on the fence of being a playoff team, where they probably would have been a lock a month ago. And the Steelers are on the on the fringe of making the postseason, too. It's all going to be based off of what that offensive line can do. So let's get our first preview of the day. We have stringers in each and every stadium. We welcome in Paul Hamilton Paul. I am sure that this is going to be an electric seen in Orchard Park is expectations are very high for the bills today. It's emotional here in Orchard Park. I actually saw tears running down the faces of some fans here, you know to be here to root on their team when a few of them got to come in the playoffs last year, but not many. And they're just a static variable here to root on their team. There hasn't been this much optimism around here since Andre Reid and Jim Kelly and Bruce Smith were around and Going to Super Bowl, so the fan base is just they're ready for this. They're ready to go and they're ready to greet the Pittsburgh Steelers in a bad way. Clearly, a lucrative contract to Josh Allen was given out and they have the utmost confidence in the Bills quarterback who's been to the playoffs. The last two years. We were all very thoroughly impressed by the Bills offense last year. What's the next step for this unit offensively as they have a difficult test today with the Steelers defense? I think for Josh Allen is he got better at it last year, but he sometimes tends to play Hero ball. Where all of a sudden he'll make a play. Where you go. What are you doing? I mean, I remember one play. He's running the ball. He comes around the right side. He's at the 50 to the 45. Next thing you know, he's he's looking to pitch the ball. It's like, Wait a minute. You're 25 yards downfield. What are you doing? And, you know, I think you pitched the ball out of bounds or whatever, instead of just keep going, And that's just an example of sometimes he just tries to do too much, but He's been around now he's learned as he goes on, so I think that's really the one of the only minuses you have with them is sometimes he just gets a little too excited. And wants to make a play. That's not their call Hamilton When we look at the offense, there's not a lot of big question marks, but one that could be there is the running back room and Zack Moss not going to play today for the Bills. Yeah, That's interesting because they have a package for Matt Brita, who obviously is going to be if not the fastest one of the fastest buffalo bills out there. Devin Singletary really improved this year. He worked a lot. He worked on. Probably his explosiveness. I mean, you can. You can work on your speed a little bit, but probably explosiveness that he can show hitting the hole and you can see it in preseason. That you know he was good at that enable to do that. So, um, I know they would like to run the ball over more. But Further. We actually see that I don't know. Dave O'Brien Day will be offensive coordinator is very successful. With Josh Allen throwing the football they brought in Emmanuel Sanders. John Brown no longer here. And they brought on Emmanuel Sanders and he can do it for you in many different ways and play all three positions for you, and he is playing. There was a question of whether he was going to be Healthy enough to play in this game, but he is up for this game, so it'll be interesting to see how they utilize him and how they utilize a running game, which basically has been non existent. Since Josh Ellen has taken over when you look at Sean McDermott. I think he's one of the better coaches in the league, and we've seen him get to the playoffs with Josh Allen twice and also once with Tyrod Taylor. I even remember a game where Derek Andersen was on Monday night football and offensively, they didn't have anything. But defensively. That unit usually is strong last year, it was not the typical Sean McDermott. Defense that we were seeing today. Yes, they go up against big Ben. Yes, there is nausea. Harris, You have juju Smith, Schuster and Chase Claypool. But this deal is offensive line is a big time concerned. What do you look for the bills to take advantage of.

"Million. Of course, the bigger story line is who are the healthy scratches? Zack Moss is inactive for this game, as is bookie. Basham, second round rookie defensive end linebacker Andre Smith and office of Lyman. Tommy Doyle. Also an active along with the tool previously mentioned as the injury. But yeah, the healthy scratches, especially moss. Yeah, the bigger story line. It's a storyline, but I can't go. I can't get to a place where I say it's a surprise. I I have felt from the very beginning. That Matt Brita has a role on this football team in its defined its definitive and I think moving forward. I am now interested to see what he does. This is Today's a big day for map Rita Joe, because if Matt Brita can have an impact on this football game It's going to be hard to find a place to take him out Weekend and week out Zack Moss. I don't know again. I'm not surprised. But it's interesting. It's I raising a bit I this is Devin Singletary on the right to be this team's primary back this off season by a being available. Be working on the things this coaching staff asked him to work on and see coming to camp with a different mindset and an application of those things he needed to work on. To me. It was Maybe this is the weirdest part about this whole conversation, Joe. Mm hmm. Zach Moss, for the better part of two years has been hyped up more by the national media by the national fantasy Outlets. My body's over established Run Evan Silva. Adam Levitan, These everybody loves Zack Moss. Yep. Why cannot he? Why can't he seem to make the impact get the touches. Find the time on the field that almost everybody universally believes he deserves. I think maybe part of the value people were seeing him in him was he was earning that playing time. Last season, and what he was coming into the league. He had pedigree. He was the most elusive back in his draft class of the 2020 draft class. He had a third round pick attached to his name, so There was value put into Zack Moss and the bills and trusted him with playing more so than more than Devin Singletary for many of the games down the stretch last season other than week, 13 So I think to me It's just a surprise that you drafted a guy in the second round third round third round. He came in with pedigree. He played pretty well. But Zack Moss to me. But what is he? He is a bruising running back that yes has finished but Red Zone ish threat. And he's a very good pass blocker. Yes, to me. That was always the reason I looked at. Okay. Why is that Moss? The number one running back on this team? Because they don't use running back. They don't put the ball in the hands of the running back. They do it at least less than anybody else in the league. Yep. So Why don't you put the best pass blocker back there? But I wonder must so maybe about Britta, This doesn't have to be true. But I wonder if today is a an opportunity for Devin Singletary to really get feature back to NFL and do it in the regular season, because, yes, you looked great in the preseason. You looked great in training camp. Maybe this could even be a warning shot to Singletary and Moss. Of course, at the same time that Hey, we are not afraid to healthy scratch you even if you have a rough game today, we're going to put Zach right back in their mats in the lineup breeders in so to me, while Moss is the guy that Comes out today. If Devin Singletary has a couple of drinks today, or he misses a pass block very easily to me. The bills proved today by scratching moss that I think they'd be willing to take it. Scratch Singletary next week and now I would be surprised when I say though. That the move today Two healthy scratch. Make Zack Moss inactive. This is a battle between Devin Singletary in Zack Moss. They brought Matt Brita in to have a role in it's again. It's a day It's a defined role. And to me that kind of goes back to The way they saw Singletary and mosques running back Not necessarily complementary skill sets, right. I think they thought that I think they thought that Moss is going to be like our 1st 2nd down, you know, short yardage situations running back between the tackles. And Singletary will be kind of are not a step back. That almost sounds insulting, but no, no, I get it The third down pass catcher. You know the guy we get the ball out to in space, but really Even though they are completely different styles and they are different body types. The way they win at the position to me is very, very similar 1st and 2nd down between the tackles. I think both of these guys on run heavy teams could be star players in the league. Devin Singletary is one of most efficient backs in the league. But to me they have such similar roles that There was always a door open for a pass catching speed running back, and that's why you find one almost a veteran minimum. By the way, A lot of people wanted them to get Travis Ctn play the same role that I have read is going to play today. I That's such a great point, Joe. It's I know we're spending a lot of time talking about the running back position on the seventh option in this offense, but I just think it's so notable to talk about How almost universally. Loved overvalued. I guess at this point Zack Moss has been since entering the league. I mean, I remember watching good morning football in the lead up to last year. Who's the Bills? Breakout player, according to Good morning football. Zach Moss is the breakout player candidate like to see how the evolution of this offense at the running back position has played out, culminating to today. Is a fascinating, fascinating storyline. We'll see how it plays out. But again I love your point, Joe. There is a real debate here about Zach Moss for stepping Singletary situation and let's just put it in focus. That is the competition. This isn't Where does Matt Brita fit in? This now has become. Where does Zack Moss fitted, and I think it's a digitally. It's a fascinating conversation. It could be Schematic game the game. Absolutely, it could be. Maybe there are games they would choose not to dress Matt Brita. Maybe they did see something that they think is a successful way to use their running backs against Pittsburgh that map Brita fits better than Zach Masa. Maybe next week, they'll find that Zack Moss will fit the game plan better than that burritos. That's kind of a theory that sell carpaccio has been throwing Our way, really all offseason. The game the game might be different is based on who the opponent is. But it also could just be the case that they think they they like the yards after the catch ability better out of Devin Singletary. And Matt Brita. Brita has the speed the home run hitting type of ability, where if you give them a whole he could outrun every player on the field. He might be the fastest player on the bills that he could just take it to the house. I think it is. I don't think Devin Singletary is that he's not going to outrun safeties and cornerbacks to get to the end zone..

"Guys are bills by the numbers actually give you the number and it is four. The number four. How about we talk about special teams? Because Tyler Bass had an amazing rookie year last year, we know that He now needs for consecutive made field goals for in a row to tie the team record of he has 14. If he gets four more, he'll tie the team record of Ryan Lindell set back in 2000 and seven so 14 consecutive made field goals in a row for the rookie. And in this stadium. I mean, that goes back to last year, November December How impressive is that? Chris Brown. It's impressive. Um, I would like to look at the distance, but, yeah, I mean, I think he's cemented himself as the kicker for this team for a very, very long time, barring an absolute collapse in his consistency and effectiveness. Because the Arizona game said it all last year on grass granted inside but on grass 53 55 58. To kind of keep the team in the game at that time last year against Arizona. Obviously, that game didn't go the way everybody wanted it to, But I think he cemented himself as the kicker for this team going forward for a long time. I mean, your rookie year you set the single season points record. I mean, come on. There's some big names in this bill's history among kickers Eric, the special teams group. Overall, we know that they have Tyler Bass, who's really terrific kicker. We just talked about that a moment ago, but you know, in the back end of returning punts, they lost an all pro. Return man, Andre Roberts. We've talked a lot about what he meant to this team. Isaiah McKenzie looked really good last year with the returning head against Miami and the finale. He's worked hard on it. But there's got to be a little bit of intrigue with bills, fans and maybe even the Steelers today. About Isaiah McKenzie. Returning punts. Yeah, in replacing Andre Roberts may be the best returner in the NFL that those are big shoes to fill. What Andre would do a lot of times would often go unnoticed on the statute. He would come up and make a fair catch on a punt that could have rolled out 20 yards. He didn't get it, and he would go up and make those plays. And so Isaiah McKenzie has big shoes to fill. And with a with a season with such high expectations with a roster with so few holes no, no holds on it. You start looking and you start nitpicking at the little things, and one thing is, if you get inconsistency in the return game games can be one in lost through special teams blunders at times, and you just want to see consistency. From Isaiah McKenzie, especially in the punt return aspects. Sal Carpaccio, Chris Brown. Eric, would that Dunn Tire Roundtable? Don't tear the official tire of the Buffalo Bills. We're gonna get to the actors in a moment, Chris, you can let me know if you have them And when you have them, we'll do that. We'll tell you are inactive list. Today, of course, is brought to you by Excelsior Orthopedics Express sideline with a sprain. Strain or break Get to Excelsior Orthopedics Express. We're going to get official word on Emmanuel Sanders when we do that. But Chris, if we could just talk about Emmanuel Sanders and his addition to this offense, because it is the change the one change we talked about from the receiver group. You did have Matt burritos You brought up But John Brownell, Emmanuel Sanders had. What does Emmanuel Sanders bring to this group? Diversity. I think he can threaten the defense at all three levels, and that's what makes him so effective. By the way, the inactives are out, guys. So a manual Sanders is up. So Zack Moss is inactive. Eric and I talked about this. And, uh, you know, Matt Brita had an outstanding preseason, in my estimation and training camp look proved to be a difference maker to the edge. I think Zack Moss was hurt by a full offseason of rehab, and I don't think he had his strong a preseason as the other two. So he is down Taiwan Jones and Matt Brita. And Devin Singletary are your three running backs Jones going to be on special teams. You know that Emmanuel Sanders is up. So you're inactive. Zack Moss. Tommy Doyle Boogie Bash him star as we knew, and Andre Smith. Um, Boogie bash. Um, you know, Eric and I were talking about because he does play on special teams. And you wonder if in time he is going to be the next Daryl Johnson on that unit. If he does become that he will be active more weeks than not, But for now. I think he's going to have to buy this time. Uh and then you know Tommy Doyle. The extra tackle is going to sit as anticipated, so I don't think there's any tremendous shocks. Maybe some people will be shocked by his.

"We're hoping that what the bills looked like. On offense last year repeats that we see not only a good season, but like that kind of offense that kind of not just talent but scheming and all those little edges the motion and play action and all those little edges, the bills found. Four wide receivers, and we were all to varying degrees stunned to see it turn out the way it did last year, but maybe not so stunned to see at work. Like it did because a lot of people have been, you know, have been saying for years that there are advantages in their their style of offense, Jeremy, we talked earlier in the off season Bulldog and I about Whether they might want to run the ball more and be any part different. Last year. We talked about that before the draft and you know, here and there since I think most people would assume that they're not that the why change it? The way they looked in the preseason. Going into that last game, or the first quarter or so, in the last game of the preseason might have been more proof to not worry about if you feel like we do. The bills turning a little bit more to the running game. I don't know, In the back of my mind, I have to admit that because it was so shocking last year to me to see them play the way they did. That they might still want to do it. It is a football team after all. So what's your level of confidence say in the bill's wanting to play the game the way they did last year? I'm pretty confident that they want to play the way they did last year. Um, you know, wanting to run the ball more effectively. I agree with that. I mean, I also want them to run more effectively. Devin Singletary is a big part of that Singletary in his first year like we chart what they've done at running back, they draft Singletary and then when it's he and Frank Gore to start his first game, Singletary's first game He's on the field for those 1st 16 or 17 plays against the Jets in a passing offense, so they showed they trusted him in pass protection. He was going to be a part of that. Then they draft Zack Moss. You know, things kind of get muddled a little bit. And the numbers on Singletary that I like to see better will be yards per carry. He faces light boxes more than almost anybody in the league, maybe even more than anybody in the league last two seasons. Brian table dials up lanes for him as long as the the offensive line does its job, So they brought everybody back. They probably feel like if they get everybody together and get healthy, they can get those lanes back in Singletary. His off season from what everyone seems to say, is that he's got a little more burst, and he's a little better right now. So, um, if that's the case, then that's great news because they definitely need that They need a little bit of pop from the run game. And as we went to the off season, the draft we all talked about something explosive on offense, Bulldog. I know you talked about Travis Et en. Um, I was looking for a tight end to stretch the field. John Who Smith? Somebody like that. They didn't really get that guy outside of Matt Brita and the tight end room stays about the same. So I think that's still a little bit of a question with this offense. Do they have that home run guy, But they didn't really have before. Um They didn't need it last year. It would've helped. And it's not exactly a miss on the off season. It's it's I guess it's an incomplete because it wasn't really addressed anything more than breeder. Yeah, I think you know the way last year played out like it until Moss got hurt in the Indianapolis playoff game. He had become He he'd taken over really like he was getting more snaps than Singletary. And you mentioned past protection that they proved that they trusted Singletary in that respect. You know, in his rookie year, I think Moss came very highly regarded in that in that aspect of his game, and I think that started to give him more snaps. Um, then Singletary's so it wasn't even so much like who was going to be carrying the ball as much as who is going to be on the field more in mosque kind of took over and so we'll see how that shakes out. Once this season gets going. Moss is coming off an injury in Singletary. You know, I'm I'm I'm willing to buy that. He did. You know the work? He did? Well, we'll pay some dividends, You know? I mean, it might be hard to the naked eye to, uh, to to to really know like is, you know? Did he change his running stride? Is there more burst? He sure looked great in that Chicago preseason game. I know that much. That's that's the best I can do. And that's not a great um, you know, it's not a great barometer that I would really want to trust. But I'm curious to see what they end up doing it running back and where Brita really ends up fitting in if he does it all. Dog. Have you ever added burst? Anybody ever sort of speculated that you added burst Every time I bought new running shoes and I was running, I added burst. I don't know that it you know, I don't know that there's data to back it up, but I certainly thanks. I felt faster. Yeah. That's all it takes. The secretary have new shoes, New shoes talking about here. Go get your car. Get your car fixed all the car. This car is.

"Have serviceable tight ends to go with three really good receivers for if you want to throw in James Washington is don't I mean, but they can't use those weapons properly. If they're compensating by throwing all this dink and dunk garbage. Yep. They're going to be carried by their defense this year. If they excuse me, I don't think they're going to contend for the division in the A F C North. Um you know, if anything the Browns got rid of the old bugaboo if we can't be Pittsburgh by blowing them out in the playoffs. If they're going to contend for a wild card spot. They're going to be carried by their defense. And you hope Najee Harris has a big year and that somehow helps your offense get going. Harris. Big pick and Fantasy drafts, was he? Oh, he's huge in the rookie draft. He's the number one rookie pay. I wonder her Etn would have gone. I mean, not on a winning team, but I mean, obviously he would have had a huge role I would assume in their offense. I wonder what? How high he would have gone. It's always one of the things to find out. That's one thing to find out about the bills This year is like how they're going to mix their running back carries, right. We had that discussion myself and my co, uh, co owner, if you will, my son, Jonathan, we did have that discussion because at some point In the draft last night, Jeremy, We wanted to get a running back. Not not with Echo or obviously, not later on in the draft. We were looking at a running back. I think we ended up taking like Tevin Coleman from the Jets. And we were having the discussion of loss. Singletary. I think they were both on the board and he was actually he was doing to drafts at once. He was in one draft to use in and he was running the computer for our draft. And we had this discussion and I thought, you know what Like Moss, and he was trending in the right direction as last season went on. And Singletary, you know, look good in the preseason for what it's worth, but who's the number? One guy who's going to get the majority of that carries? How much are they going to run the ball? I just looked and I said, Don't and I've seen I saw some fantasy people say Singletary could be a sleeper pick a good choice. I just don't think bills running back is a good idea in a fantasy league because I just think there are too many unknowns. Who is it? How often? Are they going to divide carries? You know Salles been talking about, you know the whole concept of running back by game plan not running back by committee. But running back usage could change on a week by week basis, depending on who's the matchup and how datable thinks which guys does table think are the best running backs in that matchup each week. I don't think that adds up to a really good fantasy formula for bills running backs. I just I'm starting to wonder about the bills, running backs and almost want to say, I I I just feel like it changes every 20 minutes. Singletary was the guy that Moss is the guy. Now we're starting the season with the idea that Singletary's the guy wait four weeks. I think he is going in. Yeah, I did to get a good camp. And then what? What? I mean you wouldn't draft burrito. But what is Breeders role? If if Frieda is good enough Then, in theory, it could take some carries away from single terrier mosque like how much of the using Matt Brita So I think that's why I would stay away from them and again, it's still going to be an offense. That is going to be living on the passing game, right? I mean, I would hope I would expect that as aggressive as they were in the passing game, right. How often they threw, um on first down. You'd remember the stats better than I would. How often they through? What is it early? On early downs in neutral game situations. I mean, they were, if not at the top, probably no lower than what third so I would expect. The same thing would happen that will lean on the passing game and that amidst all the offseason talk of running the ball better. I'm still not expecting from a production standpoint one guy to stand out enough in a fantasy situation because I think they're just kind of spread everything around with those three guys. "It's i don't want were hume carrying the ball. The majority of the time. I i've said i believe that. The leader of carey's this year and the nine running back room if everybody knock on wood. Health permitting will betray sermon. I'm gonna get trae sermon as going to quote unquote bell cow. And even then. I think he might only get ten to fifteen carries a game i need your was rankings. Best kill he was best has. Hey if i hit the corner on you. And i can get straight. You know what. I'm saying if i get mobile and field. You're not gonna catch me. And so what's the likelihood that you're going to get many runs like that in today's nfl. Not that likely so. I only need regime to carry the ball. Four five six seven times a game where he didn't carry the ball four five six seven times a game. You're in you're going to average ten to seven yards a carry. You feel me and you're probably gonna break one of those explosive and trae. I just need you for that short area explosion. I just need you to get those on third. And i need you to be the back that on thirty three that can get before yours is all i need from tracer and who is admit. So you're going to give us our matt brita. I'm basically looking at at allies. Ms straight matt brea replacements. You know I think that i have came out and said did. I'm not mad at Taking sermon on not mad at taking allies mitchell so that we didn't take a receiver though me but of course. Now hines hindsight before. I have to say that was before. Jefferson's injured now. That you have jefferson's injury okay. Yeah good thing you did. Take those two running backs i guess. And that's smart on the lynch on lynch hence heart. Because i feel that they're not assuming health and that's what we have to. We cannot assume health of anybody this year. You know you can't say hey look. "Class. You can go on buffalo bills dot com. Maddie Glad, and I have a short video that we talk about some of the possibilities and you look at the free agent class of the Bills brought in. Matt Brita, Emmanuel Sanders, FAA Obata Uh, Mike Hollister, the tight end. Um which of those which are these free agents, Which are these new additions? That do you think may have a chance to be a surprise contributor that's like Wow. Hey, look at that guy. Which one do you think has the best chance to do that? Where is it? Hold on a minute. Hold on a minute. We We don't know. I can't hear him as Ian. Hold on. Yeah, his microphones down. Hold on. Hold on. Sorry. Sorry. There you go. I'm at home. Uh, I had had check in and what the daughter was doing? Um, there was noise made upstairs. You know, she's 13. I still gotta be what's going on? Nothing's burning. Right. So I had the mute. I didn't need you guys to hear about it. But now all of Western New York knows because I screwed up the zoom. So that's where we are any perfect to answer your question. Go ahead. No, we We all know what we've all done. And now it's particularly the last 18 months sometime. We've all been muted. We've muted ourselves and didn't know it. So go ahead. Yeah. Is the answer. Your question I think I feel about is the guy. Um, The bills are talked him up. You know, Sean McDermott and Leslie Frazier especially unprompted. You know, this is not a guy that I think most of us in the media thought would be Priority on the radar in terms of going into the season. When you got Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison, you're spending draft picks, high draft picks left and right on pass rushers that FAA Obama would be a primary guy, But here's a guy that that broke out a little bit last year. I think five or six actually the Panthers last season. Um he's got a monster wingspan. So you know, kind of like Greg or so but Without the first round pick being invested. And when you talk about impact or away, a guy can contribute when you look at the other free agents put Emmanuel Sanders aside for a second because he's been signed for a specific purpose. But Matt Brita and Jacob Hollister both kind of play at spots that are not priority spots as priority usage areas for the bills. This is not a running team, a And B. There's so many good receivers. It's hard to see tight ends getting enough targets, whether it's Jacob Hollister or Dawson Knox to really have an impact. So to me, where there's an opening to have an impact is certainly on the defensive line. And if the Bills can get out of Fl Bada Even what they got last year in Carolina, which is half a dozen sacks. That's a huge impact for this team. You tell me that someone not named Edmonds, Milano Klein. Addison Hughes has six acts this year. Then that guy is going to be a big deal for this Buffalo Bills team. Well, I'll say this. Um, I A lot of people know I've seen the interview I did with him after his first game as a pro. That guy passes the eye test. Just like a lot of the guys The Bills drafted this year and Greg Russo Spencer Brown, Uh, Tommy Doyle. This guy walked in the room and he is a pro athlete, and he looks the part. I think the bills and I'm not saying that this is like a cosmetic thing or but I think the bills look First and foremost for physical traits in their players, the players that they get to choose the free agents in the draft picks. They look for physical trace. Josh Allen, first and foremost. They look for physical traits, and then they go deeper and say Okay, is he a great team made a great guy as he motivated for the by the right things in his life. Does he want to be great jersey after the money and the fame? Because as soon as you get to the league and all that stuff if he gets it He shuts his engine off that kind of thing. They They look for physical traits and players. Then they look for the character and what makes the guy tick. And is he going to be a good teammate? Is he going to strive to be as good as he can possibly be is going to make guys around him better. FAA. Obata seems to fit all that stuff. The certainly passes the physical trade test, and I think that is as much as anything. The philosophy that we're seeing played out in the Sean McDermott team here in the fourth year. We're there now. They're getting to a place where they can They can pick some guys they want to play. People are kind of Like, Yeah, I'm looking forward Lay, I'd like kind of like to play in Buffalo. We've never seen that. And it's a testament. Sean McDermott and this coaching staff and the culture they've built and Brandon beans, ability to go out and say, You know what this guy checks the boxes we think are pretty important. And getting them. That's why this team got to the NFC championship game last year. That's why they were in the playoffs the year before. Um, that's why they were in the playoffs with in their first year on the job when everybody thought they were tanking with that roster. This is this a coaching staff gets the most out of its people. And when you've got a lot of people on there that click off a lot of boxes, including some elite traits. Yeah, You're a handful. So F A. A body is a good call by you and I think when I do that, when I did the video for this who I think one of these free agents that's going to make a difference, I think is going to be Matt Brita. Because they're going to. They're going to give him some touches. And he gives you something The this team hasn't had For a while. Shady. McCoy was good he didn't have. He was shifty and It'll even leap back but was longer in the tooth. He didn't have 43 speed. Matt Brita has 43 speed. That guy is going to get to the edge of the defense fast. He's gonna be Level of.

"My home holding team after like go back to where my roots are and like. I love watching them. But god he sucked when he was with detroit while he does. I mean. It is a talent upgrade at least for the chargers. This i sure all right well so there's hope let's let's talk about jobs scalia's report on from once again the athletic you. We're minding that website. Pretty hard for the show. Scalia's said that has act. Moss could take over the back in two twenty twenty one if he continues to improve now. This is key because these aren't your father's bills. This is josh allen jr. The fon digs like big time. Playmakers on this offense. And it's it's gonna put up points again last year. Now if he is the taking over the backfield you probably looking at two thirds. Maybe seventy percent of of all the touch touches there. At least the snaps. He's going in the ninth tenth round. Which is if that's the case. Dude he is gonna fly up draft boards at least six or seven rounds. Moss was a third round. Pick last year out of vanderbilt. If i remember correctly the scheduler says his receiving skills are underrated. He says he's the best runner they have between the tackles and as a punishing running style that maximized attempts. He is the bills. Preferred goal line back as well last year he had turf toe never really got going on when he did fumbling the football and devin singletary sort of got a another shot at being the the bell. Cow there singletary did almost nothing with it so the bills while they have the opportunity there. Bryce i'd they have the talent. Are you on board with zack. Moss in the ninth or tenth round based on this report from their beat writer. Where's devin singletary going That's a great question. And i'm going to look that up right now. Devin singletary also mojo raw running back at the end of the eleventh round. So basically and moss is growing four singletary. Yes zack moss. Running back thirty eight at the ninety four and that seems like a mistake. I mean keep in mind this like so. He was hurt last year right. Single was not single. Terry just didn't perform and they already had singletary on the roster of when they drafted zack moss in the third row. So i think if you read the tea leaves here. The the bump up in rounds for moss over singletary probably due to what the front office and the coaches think of both those players to are we saying that he didn't perform a twenty seven hundred yards. Like i mean only two touchdowns but seven hundred but think about this. Think about the offense that he was in and think about what a lead back out. Should i suppose so. And and the bills added matt brita to there to. Dad is an interesting guy because you have to catch passes and the way..

I think that out of all of you guys drafted in that range, you have to assume that he has the highest likelihood of taking over the back field and For me. I would be comfortable taking him as my second or third running back off the board because I think the potential for volume is there. Is Kate Madueke earlier this afternoon with Sneaky Jolie fantasy. Uh, conversation fulfilled Fantasy quotient for this afternoon showed mikes off today. Talking about Zack Moss, their bills running back. I am. I am the bulldog. As I said, Mike is off. Uh, Sal carpaccio is in for Mike. Sneaky Joe is along as well. And, um, I don't know, seeing as we've been led into the conversation. How about running back sale? Like what? What do you What do you suppose? Is the lay of the land there? They didn't draft Travis et end. Something that I advocated for. Didn't even have the chance to do it as he got picked a few pics before the bills were able to pick at 30th. So they're running it back with Matt Brita Added to the mix. Like what? What do you What do you think Running back will end up looking like I still think it's going to be mostly, you know, Singletary in Boston, if you want to say one a one b. I'm not really sure. I can't see Zach Masters taking over Devin Singletary. But I do know that as the season went on last year kind of was going in that direction. It seemed like it. I don't think it's either way though. It's it's kind of minimal. They're not going to be this run Heavy team as Brian Table said, You know, when he last spoke with us during OTAs. He doesn't have. It's not like they need to run the ball more necessarily. Just have to be able to do it well when you need to be able to do it, and I do think that's their mantra. I don't think he's lying in any regard, although I know that Brandon Beane has said, you know they wanted to improve. He didn't lay it at the feet of the running backs and or into the offensive line. It's just a lot of things that go into it, so I think it'll be running back by committee. They'll use certain guys in certain situations and then as they will even admit it to like. Sometimes it's a hot hand now as far as Brita I think he's more of Want to guard against calling the gadget player Bulldog, but I think there will be certain packages in situations they will specifically have designed for him in every game plan. Okay, Interesting. He is. He is the speed element, right? I mean, that's what we're talking about with him. That's that's his His chief trait. Is that the wheels so you know that was something that I talked about right after the bills lost to the Chiefs was increasing the speed. We'll see how much Brita ends up impacting that, because outside of him And the sixth round receiver they picked. Um there really is not any any import of speed on this offense, right? Um, that's right. I mean, Emmanuel Sanders is not that said even a downgrade from speed If you wanna go from John Brown to Emmanuel Sanders, but they that's right now, Gabriel Davis has better speed than people think. And maybe he's on the field more so that would help you. Right, but but he's not. He's not a top end burner, but he can definitely get behind the defense. Probably better than people realize because of his size. Um yeah, that's right. Stevenson is really the only as you put it. Import of speed, and that came as a later round pick in the draft and To be honest with you like I'd put the chances less than 50 50. He's even under the GameDay roster, the active roster at the end of camp, I see it more as a practice squad player who could probably clear waivers and get a redshirt year. Right. So, um, of course, Allen is in the center of all of this, however much better they want to run the ball. I don't think anyone really is stumping for them to run the ball more often, like you're alluding to, like, just want to be more effective when they do it, And that's because Alan, it was so good last year, and that's that's really how this offense made their bones. Um, on Ellen, but the contract extension we started here back at three o'clock, and I've been meaning to revisit. This conversation, because I It's a conversation that I like. It's one that I think about, Um I don't want to overdo it, but it it pops into my head. Just the dynamic changing Josh Allen with the fans and just once he has, I guess for lack of a better way to put it the pressure of the big contract right? Like you know, from years and years of following sports sale and of course, now in your job covering sports. That as soon as a player starts getting paid when when it doesn't go well, even for a game or whatever right you do get why I'm paying How much for that, like it's a very natural. This is not I'm not accusing fans are being unfair about it. I mean, it's just the reality is it changes the equation? When a guy goes from Making, you know his rookie contract, which is still of course, like, you know, life changing money to you and me but goes from, you know, rookie deal to second highest paid quarterback in the league say which is you know what I might guess Alan becomes. I wouldn't predict that he gets paid more per year than Patrick Mahomes. But I wouldn't be surprised if he slots in right behind him with the kind of year he had last year. If they do this contract, I expect that right. Okay, that changes things. Um, and the the amount of like pressure and expectation. If you go from being like, sort of plucky, underdog guy who's shutting up the critics to Oh, I guess you better just be ready to carry this franchise on your back every year now, and that is just decidedly inarguably a very different dynamic than what Alan Has experienced this point in his career, right? I do that. I do that as a fan, much less as someone covering a team. I do it with Giancarlo Stanton, as you know, right? I I didn't like the deal when it happened, and I'm like every time the guy is up in a big situation, I'm like, Dude, you're getting paid this money. You're supposed to be this guy who is in the middle of this order who is supposed to deliver and he doesn't and that comes with that. If Geo or shell is up there in that situation, I'm not as heard on him because he's g or shell. And he's not making that kind of money. When you have When you have that contract. Those are the expectations that come along with it and Yes, Josh Allen is going to go from it's going to go in a different conversation. Not only with bills fans, but I think around the country, of course, right. I mean, football analysts, NFL people fans. When fans see that contract non bills fans, I'm saying when media see that contract he gets paid. Suddenly he's going to be talked about as hey, You know, this is a guy now who's expected to compete for championships every year. They are paying him as a Super Bowl winning MVP type of quarterback. Right? How what kind of feel if at all do you have for Josh Allen being equipped to handle that. I think he's very equipped. I think he's well grounded. Um, I think Josh has had really to work for everything he's had. Um, I think he's really, really handled that criticism that we've talked about so often. Great, You know, I mean, like people, some some don't. Um, you know, they let that get to and they let that bother them. I think he hears it. I think he knows it..

Uh, when he when he started to say, Giants coach I thought of Jim Fossil. Jim Fossil died and that just sort of hit me like Wow. How old was Jim Fossil? It was 71 that might have guessed younger. Do I remember correctly that like I'm not sure if the bills ever interviewed him, but they may have to remember anything about fossil and them. Mm. I don't know. When would he have been? Maybe? Rumored for one of their jobs. I'm not really sure. Well, probably more than 10 years ago. I mean, it would have been maybe around when Giron I don't know exactly how that lined up, but the Giants Ravens Super Bowl was 4000 season. And he would have been there for a little time after that, but The last thing I think I saw him do was coaching. Was it XFL? Maybe he was coaching another league. I think. Fossil, So, Yeah, and then is, um Isn't it his his son as a coach? I believe, right? I think so as a coach. Said here about that the conversation about we had a lot of conversations, different conversations about the bills in the first hour. The one we were having toward the end was about Matt Brita. Mhm and Brian dabble brought his name up. But I mentioned how like in these fantasy draft where you get very deep, and you're playing with really sharp guys who know the depth charts up and down for every team. Never see. Breed his name. And like, I don't question that. But when I hear his name in here, I think you know what I wonder if he might be relevant in this offense. What do you think it would take like? You see him as somebody that they to put it This particular way would want to find room for in this offense. Would it be different than that? Do you think he means to them? I think the reason why you wouldn't like get People to really bring them up in a fantasy draft or draft him. Is because I don't think people think they're going to use them that much right? Because the bill simply aren't a team that's going to run the ball a lot. So there's already limited carries. And now he's also behind Singletary and Moss. And even if they were to spin one of them, you're talking about a shared backfield of a team that basically throws 65 70% of the time. Um, what's really there and then you know, not a lot to their running backs a little bit, so I don't think it's a lot of share their for him. Um, I think the bills believe he can be a weapon in certain situations. Maybe, as the season goes on. Maybe we realized they realized that he needs to be on the field a little bit more, but I think the element of adding speed has been something. We've talked a lot about going all the way back to that loss against the Kansas City Chiefs. One of the things the very next day was, this team needs more speed. And Matt Marina brings that he brings more speed, but he's not going to be on the field all the time. And even when he is there going to be doing other things other than giving the ball to Matt Burritos, so I think that's where it comes from. But I do think they believe he can offer a certain element. The teams are going to have to respect and He might be able to break when it doesn't always have to be a 65 yard touchdown. But if he can, you know, bust a 20 yard run off. That's a really nice run. That's a nice play. Yeah. And in the you know the fantasy context, But just in any context, I think the bills are a team where They? It seems like there might be room for somebody to move in on the running backs that they have. And like, so Brita was their choice to do that. It wasn't Travis Et and it turns out it wasn't Anybody in the draft. How do you think? Or maybe, you know, I'm not sure if table got this question today. Or if McDermott has, But how do you think the bill see if I can put it like this? Singletary versus Moss? Is one of them. Overall, more valuable to them than the other. How do you think they look at that? I don't. I think there is a Shared backfield. Um In fact, Brian Table was asked about this today. Like Do you believe in more like a another bell car running back at the main running back? A lead back, I think is what the way he was asked to him. And he said, no, not really. Just you know, it's you go with what you have, and you, You see even what he said was. I'm trying to figure out and find out exactly. They're trying to remember as I talk to you like what he said. But I do remember the one party said. Sometimes you go with the hot hand right? If a guy is really rolling, and you feel that he's got it going, the other guy doesn't you do it that way, But it can be all different situations. It could be game plan. It could be a lot of different things and who that is, and that's the way I think the bills are going to approach it. I think they approach it with Hey, neither of these guys is one A and neither is one B. Now there might be a starter. There has to be someone's got to be on the field before the other one. Unless you're putting them on the same time together to start the game, and I would guess that be Devin Singletary. He's been on the team for three years. Um, you know, that's probably that's his role. That's his job. But it wouldn't surprise me that You know, these two guys basically have about the same snap counts at the end of most games. So, Sal, Uh, I've risked burying the lead here. This this fight at practice, not because it's it's not the lead in terms of like what I think you would say the same. I don't know yet. What it matters how it matters to the season. But as far as the story of the day goes, it's probably a J. F. Vanessa running back an interception and John Feliciano, according to reports, quote chasing him down. And then a fight ensued. What do you know about it? And what do you make of it? Yeah. So I'll just for transparency. I was obviously out of practice today have a lot of video practice. So I had a Jacksonville radio station calling me today just after one o'clock. So when I took the call, I didn't want to be rude. Anybody next to me? So I literally walked outside the fence to take the take The call and to go on Jacksonville radio, and the play happened within five minutes of me being outside the fence, so I did not actually physically see the play happen. But I heard what was going on. And then I saw the reports and things like that. Um, my buddy Matt Perino. You know him? He's been on the show New York upstate. I asked him a couple of times like what you see. And he just wrote up a report on there and and he told me exactly what he saw. And obviously John Feliciano has spoken about it. Since then, you guys heard the sound when he was on with the Pat McAfee show..

"Curious about the bills at that position. Singletary Year three Moss Year Too often injury pretty bad injury, but I wouldn't expect it to Slow him down or anything or his availability either. Haven't heard anything about that. Matt Brita entered anything. Brita could be interesting. Maybe he's a backup every week until there is an injury. If there is, maybe he's more than that, Or maybe he's not around. I don't know. But Think there's different ways to do that. If you have a favorite you can call in 80305 50. I talked about it with Sal a little bit as well earlier. I think the bills are fine at that position. Did not want them to draft her running back. As you may know, we talked about it quite a lot before the draft. I wanted. You know what it is. Last year was so perfect, really? In a lot of smart areas, one of which was Pastor on ratio first down passing formations like they just sort of woke up. And became this Very much 21st century 18th century team that could execute everything like it was both things they chose. The right kind of packages and sort of approach and identity. If you will, and then they just almost mastered it. And anything. Since That even if it's a sound bite or free agent signing or a draft pick anything since That suggests some changing all that worries me. It's just like Oh, no. Today was Brian dabbles turn to talk, and he didn't say anything worrisome. He didn't He was kind of safe, You know, like that. He's not usually two different about about stuff. Do you hear different? I would say he sounded a lot like maybe not as aggressively as Dawkins. Dion Dawkins sounded last week and McDermott to like when they're asked about fixing the run game. They kind of go into like, well, we want to fix everything. And then they go to talking about how good their past game is. And like, Well, we don't need to change anything from last year to me, That's how disable sounded. He got the question about balance. You need to run the ball better and he talked about I don't know how much we need to change our offense. So, yeah, like, but even balance like that he was. He was great on that question. You played that earlier. And that was there was anything safe or anything to be critical of in that In that answer, he He said. What you're trying to do muscle memory talked about and sort of. You have to change some things, but, yeah, he sounded, he answered that question. Like I would want him to answer it. All right. If I were to write the script for it would it would write it like that? I think the way they've talked, combined with the fact that they didn't change a single starter on the offensive line or a single, starting running back that they don't care about fixing the run game that they know that it doesn't impact. What they do this season. Josh Allen, since he walked in has been the most important runner. Right, And he still is there Is there big plays in the running game, and they're usually not by design. They're just Oh, just go. That's right off script. He talked about balance table and he said It's if you lose, you sort of sort of. It's like begging off the question a little bit. It's a little bit clever if you if you lost you didn't have balance if you want. You did something like that. You have that or should I? Bob? Should I try to get that right? If that week we need to run the ball, The wind is really important. Just like if we need to throw the ball to win, it's really important. There's a lot of different ways to win a game. You'd like to be first in the league and pass and first in the league and run first. The league in total offensive First league in points that that's rarely happens Team that won the Super Bowl was second in the league and pass in 20 days. In rush to me, stats really don't matter. What matters is being effective at the things you're asked to do when we need to do them. So that's the run the ball. It's to run the ball. It's to pass it is to pass it. 50 50 M. In those days. Everybody talks about balance. It's just balance is good. If you win. It's not very good if you lose Okay? He doesn't have to see why didn't take the shot at stance that is staff. He's pointing. He's showing you Tampa Bay because he knows it and he cares about it. Like that is stats. 28 running. They won the Super Bowl. Good point. Yes, but you know you don't have to It's okay. It's okay. There's a little nerd and you know, that's okay. Embrace it tabled by the way In terms of that was his seventh years an offensive coordinator. He had never ranked higher than 23rd in passing. I know he was third last year, he actually He's I've wanted to assume that Baltimore we're talking about the FC that Baltimore will not fix their passing game as long as Greg Roman is their offensive coordinator because he's never had High volume or efficient passing offense. He's never ranked higher than 29th in passing offense. Really? Yeah, and he's been in the that's about the same amount of time. Six or seven years, three here right to two plus, but like table is maybe showing you here like, Yeah, I can. I can create a passing offense here doesn't have to be the same thing. But The Baltimore is going to try to fix it. I think with the same OC and the bills did it with a guy that had never had a high volume passing offense by that was by attempts by total passing yardage. Greg Roman, who's now the Ravens, OC, has never ranked higher than 23rd by attempts. He never ranked higher than 29th and He's ranked dead last in four of eight years. So Well, you know, I'm infatuated with them make Noah made no secret about that. It's a very smart organization. And Why? As somebody who likes them, You know what I'm gonna do here. I'm going to have to you can make a choice. When it's your team. I don't want to call them my team, but Like when it's your team. They make the bills make a draft pick they make assigning they do a thing. Sometimes you can just feel like this is obviously good or bad. If it's close, you're gonna choose good. Well, here's why this can work. You know you're gonna be like that if it's your team. This is why that can work. I mean, I love Jackson. He's a player for me. He's a player to watch. Unlike you know, almost anybody ever watched in the league? He just blows me away. So if I look at Baltimore, I'm not sort of encouraged by all that, but.

"To target with his newly reported cap space that they created by restructuring? Stefan takes country You look at the free agent corners who are out there. It's you know, it's Richard Sherman, Steve Nelson. Then you get guys like DJ Hayden, then Josh Norman. Buster screen. Brian Poole, Michael Davis for Shot Breeland, You know, really good player, right? And some of these guys guarding the caliber United, you know, we know their names. You know. Nicole Roby Coleman, Nichelle Roby Coleman. Um We know their names, but the Bills Pro Personnel department know these guys. And they'll know which guy what his strengths and weaknesses are. What kind of guy he is. They'll have a whole file on him, and they'll have a dossier on whether he fits their scheme or not. So some of these guys are probably Off the list because they don't fit the scheme. Some of them. Will fit in a in a big way. And that and this list Particularly after June 1st. Becomes a little bit more little bit. Maurin expensive. Well, yeah, the price tag because much more palatable, especially for a team like Buffalo who doesn't have gobs of money to hand out, although they have more, but they'll get it now thinking one of these guys on a one year deal as well like they do. Let's go to the phones at 803 Oh, 5 51 885 52 5 50 open line for you there and we bring Colin in Cheektowaga on Colin when you have for us here on one bill's life. Hey, I think that we should really go hard for Todd Gurley just bringing that veteran power back for the red zone in those short, first down that we really need Using that kind of what Zach Moss is here for. I'm just gonna play Devil's Advocate with you, Colin. Yeah, Yeah, he fumbles a little bit. He message the ball up a little bit. He's not as big A little young, but Todd Gurley's had veteran power back that I think could really get the job done. All right, So you're going to go on running back? That's interesting. All right, thanks for the call. I don't mean you signed Matt Brita. He's not a He's not. He doesn't fit the description of what Colin is looking for, but I think that's why Zach Moss is here. Yeah, to do that stuff between the tackles Hard yards Red zone running. Yeah, I get the point. You wanna big? You want a big running back at some point? I'm still I'm still dead. Just a simmer back there and handed the ball big back. That's the biggest guy banging that I'm banging that drum. He's got such speed for a guy his size, and I don't know. I don't know if he can't even hold a football. I'm laughing, but That's really into his athleticism is really intriguing to me and his ability to run in the open field and That's where I met on the big back scenario. Imagine is a rugby player. You can't he would plow people. Guys. Yeah, but that's I. I hear that about the running back. And yeah, that's a that's a. I think that's a kind of a niche player. And if you're gonna have a niche player guy for sure you already is in the hard yards clearing cast cap space for a guy like that, and they're probably Cem. Guys. We we've never heard of big running backs out of college is the stuff they're young and fresher than Todd Gurley, who's been fighting a bad knee for six years. Yeah, I'm I see what you're saying. They didn't clear up this space for a guy like that. That's just that's the way you clear up cap space to this degree for a starting caliber. Yes, edition. That's correct. Yeah, that's right. And Todd Gurley as good as he is in his and his resume is being what it is. Um I don't know that that's him anymore. He was very good. A couple of years ago, I was in the You know the Rams run to the Super Bowl of stuff. But even then Yeah. There's a reason he bounces around. Let's go back to the phones in 803. Oh, 5 51 8885 52 5 50 open line for you there, but we go to gym in Amherst next year. What do you have for us? You're on one bill's life. Hey, guys, Jim, from Amherst. How you doing today? Good. Good. Here's my thought. Thought is. What are we going to need My concern. You guys brought it up last week. Start coming back. And I have a feeling stares not coming back after that, your Ah So are we looking for that defense of tackle? The guy from Caroline. I think Scott's his last name Cohen shorten it short short. That's it. Thanks to you, and then I'm also thinking we still are gonna have a little bit more money for Earth's Um, where your thoughts I like that. Yeah. I mean, I It's funny that you mention that Jim and thanks for the call, because the three positions I wrote down when I said okay. What's the 7.84? I wrote down tight end Cornerback and the third position I wrote down was defensive tackle. Um Star last week was not here at voluntary O T. A S That status could could have changed this week. We don't know. We'll know more tomorrow when there is media access to practice where people will be head counting at that point in time. And I think on the part of fans, it sounds like there is some measure of concern. Either A when Star comes back. What does he look like? Is a player. You know how much rust Kenny knockoff? Is He the same guy or Aziz. Jim just expressed you coming back at all. Right? I imagine the bills have Had conversations of that nature with him, But you know, you look at the free agent market. A defensive tackle Gino Atkins is at the top of the list. Geo actions complain, but he's 33 had a bad injury Last year, Kalon short 32 from Carolina did he had injury problems. Last General Casey 32 from Den played in Denver last year. Sheldon Richardson 31 out of Cleveland. Corey Peters. 33 years old Aaron, Arizona, Avery Jones from Jacksonville. He's 30 years old Beau Allen 30 years old from New England shall be Harris from Denver, 30 years old. Austin Johnson 27 years old from the Giants. Jack Crawford, Daniel McCullers. Beaumont Dome atop Echo Damon, Damon Harrison, Mike Pennell, Xavier Williams. Also you're going down. I mean, There's a lot of guys available, but not at that price tag. Not that price tag in the top guys or In their thirties. Yeah, Actions missed most of last season with bad shoulder injury. So, um,.

"Mike davis net lanna. Still the main guy myles gaskin in miami. Still the main guy. Zack moss or devin singletary. Whichever one you prefer matt brita. If you're a weirdo still the main guy. Those are three teams that everybody thought. They're going to draft a running back running back centre there. The veterans that are. They're going to be useless so far. Not the case. And did you see the jets to really have anybody. I mean we could. We could say tevin. Coleman lagos saves so far. I don't think those guys are really good like i'm not. I'm not going into my fantasy draft man. I hope for running back in new york. It's about to change would be it. Depends on who they drafted jets have the second pick of day. Three the falcons have the third pick. And i believe the ninth pick of the own. Roddy this last night. That of feeling running back. They're really been four selected. We still have. I mean they can still take top five running back in the class right and how about that. I could see myself getting excited over the jets. Getting michael carter decided who russell wilson. He just tweeted s grij exclamation point. Wow that's great. How many exclamation points just one but then can't wait to see you all out followed by three followed by hashtag. Go hawks so four exclamation point. I think what he's saying is ha aaron rodgers. My team and i wanted to. Hey so did. Aaron rodgers took a little longer you know. The seahawks only have three picks in the draft could end up with more if they trainer but they started with three picks and they took wide receiver. Does that does that mean. They're going to let russ cook. That means that they're not going to be as heavy as we thought. I bumped their pass rate one percent. Because of average yeah. I didn't even know he was worth that much. If if we've been a little bit reading the tea leaves anyway. Like they are going to make this big change from last year and go back to what they were three years ago because of some they've been some talk that they want to do some things differently but the fact they only had three picks and had the needs they did and took a ride receiver. I i don't. I don't buy that. They're just going to go back to super run heavy and you know what they the change they could make trying to get the quote. But this is what pete carroll said. Well i don't have the exact quote but he said they will get the ball out of russell. Wilson's hands quicker so that could be the big change they make on offense just a different style. I guess ethridge could help them do that. Yup screen slants whip routes. He can also take. They didn't have anybody to return kicks pots and he can do that. Well if they don't want to do it. Why would they want tyler lockett to do what he's done it. Yes more part of his career and now they've got somebody who's young and fast who can do it. Well he's not going to be one of our lock it for this passing game. That's going up one percent. He's gonna be one of our top five rookie wide receiver. So let's get into that right now. Your top five. Rookie wide receivers. Dave what are you got. I've got jomar chase. I didn't change today. i've got devante smith. Second jalen waddell third. I've got terrorist marshall fourth and as of now cadaverous. Tony is interesting. Okay all of the four of the five first rounders. So heath dave goes chase. Smith waddell terrorists marshall on the panthers and darius tony giants first round pick. What's your top five for extra credit. I've tiered minors will in tier one. I've got march chase to.

"50 all sports all the time. I have to answer the question from Jeremy on the O B L fan mail bag. What's your opinion of taking a center slash old lineman with the 30th pick? If the values right I'm not opposed to it at all. Um And Round one. It's more likely that you get a tackle than you would in interior offensive lineman but Bills did that in 2009 when they drafted Eric would who was this letter's center slash guard? I think it was the 26th pick. Their second of two first round selections. The first of whom I'm not going to mention I will never criticize an offensive line pig now. Oh, yeah, you're all about. I'm all about it. Everybody gets better when your offensive line gets better. Yep, and the way they sit with their skill positions offensively. Um The fastest way to get your football team better is toe improve your offensive line in every city almost every situation unless you've already got a dominant offensive line. That's the only way to so I'll never. That's a great idea. Ah, Liza Vera Tucker is probably the only into I mean, some people think he could play tackle. He's got 3200 heathen charms may be better for guard. He's probably going to be an all pro guard in this league. He is definitely gonna be Going in the first round, and he's probably off the board before the Bills are on the clock at 30. Then you have Landon Dickerson, the Alabama guard slash center, who unfortunately an A C L injury in the conference title game, the SEC title game. And so when is he going to be ready? What is the medical say He may slipped around too, because of that very issue. Um, knowing what a medical Hang up. The hold pre draft process has been You have Alex Leatherwood, his teammate. Um, who was tackled but probably projects to guard. Um Some people think he can play tackle, though, and that guy's a beast at 64 £312. So those are probably the guys at the guard position. That you would consider, um in round one as far a center. The general consensus is it's create Humphrey and everybody else. The Oklahoma Center. In pivot guy right at 64 £302, and he's widely considered to be a second round pick. So you're picking 30th. So right? You're almost in the second round already. That's I can live with that. If it's a guy who you think is gonna have a really nice pro career. Take him four or five picks earlier to 10 picks early, even particularly if you're 30 if we're not talking From number two overall from 12. We're talking 32 40th, So I have no problem with that. And that guy's been playing seen center since his senior year of high school, so Read. Humphrey played center is senior year of High school Four star High school recruit goes to Oklahoma Red shirts and then plays center for the next three years and has 37 starts there at the college level at a school that turns out offensive lineman like it's going out of style. I mean the bills have two former Oklahoma lineman on their starting offensive line. And Darryl Williams and Cody Ford. So You want to add another? I'm not against it. Not with his track record and body of work. I'm Yeah, I would. I don't care if they take six offensive lineman in this draft E would not about And I would be like, Wow. That is a smart thing. You live in the hyperbole worlds I do really do I think they're gonna take one, at least if not to, and I think they're going to take They're going to take an offensive lineman a corner and they're gonna take an edge rusher where those guys end up where they trade up or down to get him is up. You know who knows, But And they may take a tackle as well. They might because, yes, you know, they got Jameel Douglas in free agency, but he's played mostly guard. So you have forest lamp. Jameel Douglas, largely depth players or maybe challenge for starting job at the guard positions. Lamp will challenge I think, yes, But you don't have the swing tackle. Tying second signed with Dallas. You say what you will so babies, but now he's unproven. I could see them drafting a new offensive tackle, and it's a good draft for tackles so I could totally see that Patrick from the mail bag says, Am I wrong to have high expectations of running back Matt Brita? I've always loved to speed it running back, and I think he gives them something they don't have. I've heard some people say is probably not even gonna dress on game day. Say, save a draft pick for offensive line, etcetera, So he's responding to all of the running back. Talk at the bottom of round one. And you know, he's saying That breed is your home run guy. And I would agree. I totally agree, and I would I would choose offensive line over another running back any day of the week. They only had too often. They only had two running backs active for the most part last year that were actual running back to Taiwan Jones special teams special teams guy But it was it was Moss and Singletary. T. J Yeldon didn't wasn't active until one of those guys went down and the reason why is because they were dressing six receivers every game day. So you gotta rob from Peter to pay Paul. I think that will continue, and I do, too. So do you want to draft the first round running back when you know you're only gonna dress to some, but that means one of those three or sitting every single week if Matt Brita sits Is it as big a deal is, if you're first round draft picks its Good point, you.
