"Anybody. Does it just being lifelock? Auburn Fan for? Eighty. Something years I just hate to see code and the drain. because. The way I mean you go back to the Alabama game last year and it looked like this program was was really. Lifted off but but I think sometimes you can just read too much into one game. Hey, thank you for the Call I. Really Appreciate it Herald is up next herald is in Missouri Hello. Hello Paul. How are you doing, herald? Fan that works in Arkansas. So. He. was trying to get your take on which thing in Missouri if they they've already missed one game because they could Miss Florida game possible. GonNa Affect Missouri where do you see them enough and I'm just kind of Arkansas that they seem to be getting? Yeah. The Missouri part of it I mean I I I'm so excited about the LSU. Kirk shrink to me is just a burst of energy and. It's what that program needed. Arkansas is the surprise team. And Yeah I know fans are fans and. Now, every game is winnable but to me Sam Pippen already one. And Interestingly, I, you've heard this. Big, part of the success comes from Barry Odem. Yes sir. It sure does and I think that was just it got to me and and people need to say this is a lesson in life is. You surround yourself with good people You're kind of a cliche you're always should get somebody around you that smarter. Very, Odom was smarter than Sam Pittman when it when it came to being an SEC head coach and because of that, he has helped Sam Pittman become a really good sec head coach and just as first season, we're heading into the break hugh freeze coming up here in a few minutes. "I'm concerned about the quarterback situation at all but. go knicks I think is probably a fine young man you stated was sitting here. Right thing falls. But. He can't get the job done. and. It's GonNa hurt our recruiting not only for. A quarterback, but for other players to. how season just just going to be bad over dad. I don't. We might be daily issue as you call to say it but. I'm afraid paddle to question. I'd like to you. Let me say this about you're right about bone knicks. He's he's a great young man. We talked to him about two weeks ago and not only do I know his father I, covered his father as a younger reporter and they're great people and I maybe I maybe you let that affect your your mindset. I thought he was going to be unbelievable for your starter but they are really at a crossroads right now with Nick's and I know everyone wants to blame Chad Morris he's the one that Gus Malzahn toss keys to. Find a way to utilize Bo Knicks more and it turned out to be a disaster so far he's not being protected his weapons or somewhat limited, and I think another loss perhaps this weekend and right now it's hard to get a gauge on this game I. Think this program could just literally come undone Well. That's what I'm afraid of not. Just they she yeah no, you're right. Because when I mean gus, Malzahn has been through this before Dana's but it's going to get worse and I mean I'm not saying over I. Mean this season there are a lot of there's a lot of turns and curves it they're still to be dealt with but. Things are looking pretty desperate and I. don't really understand what they're trying to do offensively. Well. I don't think.

But maybe there is I'm disappointed that I really did like defect I the only man that worked on this earth that was perfect was Christ. Jesus but evidently John the Baptist down in Birmingham he must be perfect. Yeah I agree with you and listen I think it's fair game the guy was a public figure and Walls came crashing down but. I am not trying to mitigate any transgression whatever he did. he lost his job and it was a great job paying billions of dollars a year and He may never get a job back that well or he might but. All I was trying to convey the other day. Was it. I had a I've had many conversations with free, but I was just simply referencing one long evening that I spent two years ago an Oxford where he he went through start to finish and. I listened that's what I do. That's that's what you do and you know what I heard that night was was a story that he would tell a college administrator trying to hire him and that's how he got hired a liberty Jerry Falwell junior or not I have no idea what. I've never met your Falwell Junior. And To me, he deserves a second chance he paid he paid for his transgressions. "Family has the rest and they're trying to Kinda get ready for when they will resume practice the current plan or at least the expected in hopes plan in Gainesville of that, they would get back to being on the field and doing football actual football things on Monday As of right now, you know they've they've been shut down and it would be fourteen days that they would have been shut down I'm I'm curious how look if they can indeed go back on my, we don't know to what extent people will still be out because we don't know on symptoms and how many people are quarantine than what coaches will be there and all that stuff. But the plan is the hope is that they will be back on Monday, getting ready for Missouri and a five day turnaround where they haven't done anything for two weeks. Now, they've got a game week trying to get back into it with a non full roster. I guess the obvious questions our contact tracing but but I'm not sure that really matters at this point does considering that nothing is happening. Well. Nothing is happening in terms of what's actually going on on the field, but I mean obviously, there's still people not everybody is quarantine so they can still go out and do things, and that's one of the interesting things in terms of the positive that they just had the other day. Now, they're going to be able to once they figure all these things out it can kind of trace who got. It from where and now that things aren't going on did somebody get it from somewhere else and all that stuff but the the the reason they shut down last week is the one to do like what the NFL does is okay. We've got an issue here. The best thing to do is shut it down. So we can kind of start the clock over start at zero with no cases and They're not at that case at that point right now but they're hoping to be back there and when they resume on Monday assuming they do they're gonNA have a four oster I think they expect to play against Missouri. But given the way things have been I don't know that that's a guarantee yet for that game to happen Numbers here that we don't really know the answers to but. Even, if it does happen, you're talking about a game. Where nothing has really happened for two weeks right. Correct and obviously there's a there's there I a component of it because I don't know to what extent the players have been able to work to throw around with each other informally 'cause we don't know who's. WHO HAS IT? WHO's quarantine? So that one question I'm just from an athletic standpoint I'm sure the guys as they've been able to have been doing some sort of workouts on their own or they're gonNA be in football shape out for two weeks maybe not necessarily and Mullen said that they were going to try and build back up a little bit but it's not great to build back up during the season when dot five days to prepare for. Missouri with a new head coach that I don't know how well the knows them. So just from a pure football perspective here, taking the other stuff out, it's a tall order again, just from football perspective. Beggar with US talking about the the Florida Situation I I'm sure there have been worse situations matt although I can't remember one in and again we don't know all the details of this yet but it doesn't sound very good. But I mean, you really do have to wonder I, mean Missouri's coming up and then what Georgia the week after. Correct Georgia the week after, and that's you know. This whole thing has stunk for everybody literally everybody in the country and probably everybody in the world this is stuck. It's it's very interesting. What's happened with the gators if you would have told me go back in time to February, which is like eighty years ago. I would have thought that gators could have a chance against against Georgia I don't know that it would have picked them to win but I thought it could be very entertaining game and maybe this was the ear and then as we went through all this stuff and then even in August I thought I looked at, you know what? I, think. That the gators have in terms of the coaching staff in terms of the veteran quarterback, Kyle trask turns of all the guys that return the offense of wine. It would be set up for a year for the gators to beat Georgia But as we sit here today, it's a really tough and and you know I don't know that it would have happened anyway I'm not GonNa go out and on that hypothetical win. But when you add in the situation that the gators are just been dealt with just like everybody else has been dealt with curb all this godforsaken year, it's GonNa be really hard order and and what would have been the pivotal game. Talking about beggar man. I I. I know Dan Mullen alluded to it today but tell us what you know from those conversation and others. He indicated he felt most of this came from the trip to college station. Correct. That's what Scott Stricklin the AD said last week. Wow and I thought the thought process is that you know they didn't have an outbreak beforehand the think one or two players basically boarded the trip. They had mild symptoms allergy headache that sort of thing and got on the trip thought it was no big deal and then once they're in a different setting outside of their kind of home, college football bubble is when things can have you know we've all been on airplanes they're not these. He's most roomy places be easy for things to spread their Essentially, rooming with people and hotel room pregame meal a cramp locker room at an I'm not. You know nobody to my knowledge thing that an MD anything malfeasance or anything like that. Nobody's blaming this on the crowd at college station nothing like that. It's just the fact that they're any different environment and the spaces that they were in were much more confined than they typically are at home in Gainesville where the. Locker Room and they don't have to get on a plane and that sort. And the close proximity that they had what we know about the virus that is usually in confined spaces and with close quarters, and that's potentially why they think that it went from one or two guys been tested negative and still being symptomatic to where we are now where at least twenty, five players since then something like that. Man I know it's water under the bridge but it just seems. Much. It seems maybe Negligent to to brush off somebody with allergies or the SNIFFLES seven months into a pandemic when when everyone. In America knows. What the signs are. Yeah and Stricklin when he talked about it last week you do. That's a fairly upset but he did point out like these guys protocol because the protocol in a situation like that or if you feel symptoms and here's what the symptoms are. Just about everybody knows what the symptoms are If you feel something you're supposed to say something and get tested and and get looked at in the you know one or two players did not and that's Seemed like that's the reason why the gators are in the situation where they are right now where they're going to be out of football for fourteen days with two games postponed and really going to be scrambling to kind of stay alive in the SEC east. Yeah. Again, the postmortem on this has not been. Offered or issued we're nowhere near that but These are all rather troubling signs, Matt thanks. I know it's a what happens to a reporter and all this I guess you're. You're locked out either way. Aren't you've? I I've been know I'm not talking to guy that it's funny. I'm covering the indy-car Grand Prix in Saint Petersburg. This weekend was going to be the opener for the series in March. It was literally by my count, the last major American sporting event to shut down during that time I'll be out there this weekend. It'll be the first time I've actually talked face to face with an athlete since mark I'm going to see. One of my colleagues I haven't seen one of my colleagues in personality, my colleague in Person in March either so it's GonNa. Be Very nice to get back to some sort of normal even as the main the main part of my Job Cohen College football remains very, very, very, very weird instinctively I was about to think well, you could at least go watch the world series and I forgot the world series in Texas so. Nothing nothing is normal. Hey, Matt. Thanks for coming on. Always great to have you on. Not Good stuff from Matt Baker that's That's a troubling situation down there. "In March of two thousand nine Vanessa. Bulls testified at length in front of the grand jury afterward. Map Baker was indicted for murder on January thirteenth. Two thousand ten. The case went to trial. The prosecution presented much of the same evidence. Put forth at the inquest into Carey's death. But this time they also have the testimony of Vanessa Bulls. The prosecution worried about her credibility as a witness. But Vanessa one the jury over during her testimony. She asked what do I have to gain from this right now? I could possibly lose my job as a teacher. Everyone is looking at me really bad right now. I'm setting things right on January twenty first after a week long trial a jury found Matt Baker guilty. They sentenced him to sixty five years in prison. Matt's reaction was muted saying that he believes the jury made a mistake. Carey's family felt only relief. Linda remarked God told us he would not forsake us and he hasn't. We have felt his arms around us through this entire process. We are blessed after the trial. Kerry's parents petitioned for custody of their grandchildren. Fourteen year old Kinsey and nine year old grace and succeeded. They were free to raise their granddaughters without Matt. Baker's influence after more than five years since curious death it was the closure they needed since then. Matt Baker has continued to insist that he is innocent but he couldn't change his predatory habits even in confinement soon after his conviction he was disciplined for making obscene hand. Gestures toward female. Inmates Essay passed him in the hallway. He has since been transferred from the county jail to the Huntsville State Prison. Hopefully Matt will stay away from women and the pulpit for good.

"Who had helped her. After Cassidy's death. She told Jillian about the ups and downs of her life. She steamed proud of her work at school and her daughters progress but she said that her marriage was off track. She told her therapist. I think Matt's having an affair then she added. I think Matt's planning to kill me as soon as she said it. She backtracked in laughed. It off carried told the therapist. She was being ridiculous. Matt would never hurt her. She then change the subject to our hopes for the future. She talked about her goals. She said she wanted to spend more time with her children and work on her marriage. She left the session feeling optimistic. Though carry had a gut feeling that something was wrong. She ignored it. People often downplay their own instincts according to neuroscientist and medical doctor. Cairo Bob Annette. When an instinct doesn't conform to our self image. We often try to deny it. She stated our subconscious is constantly screening every experience action with the question. Is this me or not? We buy clothes eat food or post things on social media that fits the image of while rejecting anything that is not me including an instinct that goes against two. We think we are carries. Instincts told her that Matt was dangerous. But this conflicted with her image of Matt as a Pious Minister and herself as his loving wife confronting reality would force to admit that everything she believed about her life and marriage was ally that she had been ignoring the warning signs for years. She couldn't bear to admit she'd been deluding herself. So carry continued on as if nothing was wrong on Friday April seventh. Carry Hannah job interview to teach at a middle school. She left feeling overjoyed. She called her mother to say it had gone well after the interview. She went to the elementary school where she worked. She chatted with other teachers about her summer plans and discussed a party. She wanted to attend that Saturday for her grandmother. She had no idea. That Matt was at home on the phone with his mistress. Vanessa Bulls Matt complained that he was depressed. All he wanted was to be with. Vanessa he was tired of life getting in the way of their love then. Matt told her his plans for the evening he was going to kill. Carry Baker..

"Of course Matt was anything but a noble shepherd. He soon became interested in one of his new church members. Twenty three year. Old Woman named Vanessa Bulls. Vanessa was recently divorced with an infant daughter. Lily Kerry had a soft spot for Vanessa and lily because she thought Vanessa's baby looked like her own loss child cassidy. She mentioned the resemblance to more than one friend throughout the fall of two thousand. Five Kerry didn't realize that Matt had noticed Vanessa too and his feelings were anything but innocent coming up. Matt has an affair with deadly consequences now back to the story thirty one year old. Carrie Baker had endured the devastating loss of her young daughter. Cassidy but by the fall of two thousand five. She regained high hopes for her future. She had a wonderful teaching career. Many supportive friends and family in her hometown of Waco Texas and two beautiful young daughters. She believes she had a wonderful husband as well. A thirty four year old Minister Matt Baker was hiding a history of abuse and harassment against women for years. Matt had terrorized women. He worked with by groping them or making sexual comments. He had also made some of Carey's friends and family members uncomfortable. He wasn't necessarily violent what them but when he talked to carries female cousins and nieces his comments were suggestive and flirtatious. One of the members of Matt's New Church in Waco soon discovered the site of him. Twenty-three-year-old Vanessa was the daughter of Larry Bulls the music minister at Crossroads Baptist. Vanessa have been living with her parents in separating from her husband and often attended church with them. Vanessa leader described herself as a strict southern baptist. Perhaps she saw the Church Minister Matt Baker as an unquestionable authority figure in one of our first encounters with Matt. She was sitting alone in the church. He came over sat next to her and commented. Whoever finds you is going to be a lucky man? He told her that he often council people going through a divorce. He thought he might be able to help her. The exchange stuck with her later in December of two thousand five. Vanessa attended a church potluck. She was talking to friends about her. Divorce being finalized joking about eventually dating again afterwards. She found herself alone in a hallway with Matt. He asked if she did her pastor he went on to say he had a. Septa me and was free of. Std's so she wouldn't have to worry. When Vanessa asked if Matt would really cheat on his wife he told her Carey is clueless the following month. Vanessa's parents left crossroads to attend their old church in Troy. Vanessa continue to attend services whereas other women had rebuffed Matt's advances. She was interested. She later said that was a point in my life where I wasn't thinking straight. She was a single mother with home or steady income. According to Vanessa she wasn't exactly attracted to Matt but felt safe with him because he was a preacher. Matt began calling her regularly at her parents house. He said it was to offer her counseling but he seemed to spend most of their conversations criticizing Kerry. He called her a bad mother and cold wife. He even claimed she to kill herself once before shortly after their daughter's death he said she tried to take too many pills and he stopped her. Now he told Vanessa that he regretted intervening eat. Wished he'd let her kill ourselves so he'd be free in early. March after weeks of speaking on the phone Matt invited Vanessa to his house. While carrying the girls were at school. He claimed that he was still interested in providing divorce counseling. When Vanessa got to the Baker's House Matt asked to hold her hand so they could pray together then he kissed her and let her to the bedroom where they had sex if she had any regrets afterward he used his position as minister to soothe her. He reportedly told Vanessa. You don't need to feel bad. It doesn't matter what anyone does. Just ask God to forgive you. Kerry didn't know about Matt Vanessa Bulls but she sense that something had shifted in their marriage. Matt didn't seem interested in having sex with her anymore but when she brought it up with him he turned the blame on her accusing. Kerry of pushing him away. Kerry couldn't understand it. She knew despite Matt's denials that he had changed she didn't know why Carey Press Matt to explain what was going on instead. He attacked her. E cleaned that Kerry treated him like a Butler Cook and babysitter rather than a husband. He cast himself as a blameless father who did everything for his little girls while Kerry didn't give him any credit for it even insinuated that Kerry was partly responsible further daughter death because Kerry had prayed that the girl would be free from pain. Curious deeply hurt by Matt's words after that exchange. She called her mother Linda to tell her the marriage was in trouble. She thought they might be headed for divorce. Linden important the relationship was to carry. She urged her daughter to try to make it. Work Kerry pressed the phone or ear trying to keep herself from sobbing. She didn't know how to explain to her mother that her entire world had shattered. She'd always try to stay so positive to present the best picture of herself. Her family and her marriage even after the hardship in grief. She prided herself on staying strong and optimistic. How could she face anyone now? That she'd failed at the most important thing in her life. She was supposed to be a good wife. A minister's wife loyal and encouraging she was supposed to tend to her marriage like a garden but she'd been careless now they'd forgotten why they loved each other carried till the deep breath and trying to clarify her thoughts. Perhaps her mother was right. The just needed to put in the work. She had to remind Matt how much she loved Him and force him to remember how I felt about her. Instead of divorce Carey decided that she and Matt needed to boost their sex life. Kerry told friends that they were trying to go on date nights and revive the romance but she may have felt doubts that she didn't share with her friends or with Matt around this time she wrote in the margins of her Bible. Lord I am asking you to protect me from harm. I am not sure what is going on with Matt but Lord helped me find peace with him in April of two thousand six. She visited her doctor told him she was suffering from anxiety. She wanted a prescription for xanax. But her doctor disagreed and prescribed an antidepressant instead. Carey was aggravated assisted. That she didn't feel depressed on her way out of the doctor's office. She ripped up the slip that afternoon Matt Trove. Her home from the doctor's office at one point they stopped at a stop sign and carry opened the car door for a breath of fresh air. Matt grabbed her as if he thought she was going to jump out. Carrie laughed as she recounted the story to our family later she seemed amused at how overprotective Matt had been but Matt told the story differently he said that Carey had tried to leave from the speeding car while they were on the highway. He seemed to want everyone to think that Kerry was suicidal. Others may have seen this as a sign. That Matt was worried about his wife. Only Vanessa Bulls had reason to believe otherwise. As Fair progressed Matt became more and more bitter about his marriage. He complained Vanessa that he was tired of Kerry. He didn't want to get divorced because it would ruin his career as a minister but he wanted her out of his life. According to Vanessa Matt began concocting outlandish ways to kill carry and get away with it. He talked about tampering with the brakes of her car. Arranging a drive by shooting or hanging her to make it look like a suicide at the time. Vanessa thought he was exaggerating. Matt also begins scouring the Internet for ideas on his work computer. He researched overdoses and prescription drugs. For years. Carry had refused to see match shortcomings but once he started plotting her death. She finally seemed to sense that he might be dangerous. One night she opened Matt's briefcase and found a medicine bottle filled with crushed up pills. She asked mad about it and he told her that one of the troubled teenagers from the Waco Center for youth must have hidden the pills there while he was at work. When Kerry checked again later. The bottle was gone on Monday. April third Kerry visited a therapist Joanne Bristol..

"Matthew Baker seemed to have grown up in chaotic household. His Parents Barbara and Oscar operated a group home for foster children in his hometown of curve. Ill Texas about an hour. North West of San Antonio Matt describe the environment as warm and comforting saying I learned Christian love. We were all brothers and sisters when they were in our house they were family but some of his foster siblings told a different story. Decades later a number of women came forward and said Matt's parents were abusive. They recalled incidents in which Matt's Father Oscar groped and sexually assaulted them one woman described Barbara as very harsh with her words very degrading. She used to be little people and make them feel inadequate and wrong. Barbara encourage some of the foster children to make fun of others with mental and physical handicaps but Matt refused to accept these accusations against his parents and denied any abuse. Perhaps his parents treated their biological children differently from the others. His mother leader described him as exceptionally well. Behaved saying I can honestly say I can't remember ever punishing Matt. That's hard to believe I know but it's true when Matt graduated from High School in Nineteen Ninety. Most people probably would have agreed. With his mother's assessment. He had a spotless reputation and received a partial scholarship to Baylor University in Waco Texas there. He majored in Church recreation and specialized in athletic training. But beneath the wholesome exterior Matt was hiding a predatory aggression as part of his studies. He worked as a trainer with the university's football team during his sophomore year. He met a young woman named Laura Wilson another student in the same athletic training program. One afternoon Laura was assigned to clean one of the student locker rooms and Matt offered to help. Matt made her feel uncomfortable right away. She said his behavior started out as simply obnoxious. He continually poked her with his broom. She repeatedly asked him to stop and he finally did but moments later he cornered her in a stall. Laura said that Matt picked her up and dragged her own to a bench. He forced her onto his lap in groped her between her legs. She screamed and fought but he ignored her after a few minutes. He let her go. She later said he didn't stop touching until he was ready to stop till he had gotten whatever it is he god. Then he left the locker.

"In our limited income, an estimated twenty six billion dollars in savings prevents now that's ever what time what period of time. Twenty six billion a lot of money. That's over the last couple of years. Okay. All right now, we've seen these we've seen all of these improvement and progress and generic drugs being approved. Have we seen the is there a counter to that, you know, sometimes even in a grocery store, they'll say well with toilet paper on sale today. It's down fifty cents. But then you look around and you're paying fifty cents more for the paper towels have seen an increase in other drug prices or or has been a limit on that as well. Well, obviously, we were just talking about generic drugs. Brand drugs are another matter. Obviously, we're that's why we're trying to bring greater price transparency with making sure that TV ads that promote. That's the new blockbuster drugs are the ones that cost so much biosimilars of biologics or traditionally very very expensive as well. So what is that? What's have bio similar? They are a new type of medication that is extremely if enacted in pool, but very very expensive. And it is often is the case with the bio Similars there in Jekyll types of medication. And they're they're the newest evolution in treating disease and conditions, but they can be very very expensive. Okay. I don't want to run out of time. But the bottom line is this Matt Baker department of health and human services region. Three from the first year looking back one year the blueprint teams to be working. Yes. Does. And we're very excited about continuing the momentum about twenty six billion dollars as I said in estimated savings from the generic drugs. And we're also as you you may be aware congress work very very closely in the president on on drug pricing. And it's very much issues that everyone seems to support in terms of bringing down the cost of prescription drugs. Two bills were recently fine by the president the ban pharmacy gag clauses. So patients can always ask the pharmacist, what is the most affordable low cost medication? And and be able to tell customers what it is without the heretofore gag closet. Didn't. That's good staff. We thank you so much Baker for joining us today wish we had more time. But as you said it's off to a great start in the one year. So we'll we'll keep an eye on this. Thanks so much for joining us today. Thank you very much day, his twelve forty five time for AAA traffic.

"Hey, I know I was going ninety in seventy but that other car was going ninety in seventy two will that's there's still going to write you tickets, and you're gonna. Have to move on like other people do this. We think and get away with it is not an a good defense for you. When you get caught. I don't believe for a second. That will wait is the only head coach who's broken level one rules. I don't even believe is the only one in the SEC, but he just happens to be the one who's caught on a wiretap talking about it. And that's why LSU is in the position. It's in right now, you mentioned Miller's recruiting what about Wade. Does. It does as it seemingly had any impact at all on him. I know he's still in for one of the top players in in the south. It's still available. Yeah. He seems to be the favorite for five star prospect print 'em Wofford out of these state of Alabama. And so I guess the answer the question is is no it hasn't had a real impact. I think the most surprising thing is like Arizona. Literally right now has the number one recruiting class in America. Even though it's still not crystal clear that show Miller is going to survive this scandal. And it's undeniable that Arizona's. Going to be hit by the AA in some form. Even if they can't tie directly to Shawn Miller, you know, the postseason ban type stuff is certainly on the table for Arizona. And yet he's still been able to secure one way or another, you know, five star prospect after five star prospect of will seems to be picking up right where he was before the scandal ever surfaced as well. So I guess, you know, we talk all the time about the fans don't care about this stuff. Maybe it's also true that prospect don't seem to carry either because the same schools that were getting the best players before any arrest was ever made September two thousand seventeen here. We are in may two thousand nineteen and those same schools are getting the best players again. Unbelievable. Gary barrett. I'm sure the NCAA will appoint another blue ribbon commission to solve all your problems. They're great. They're great at coming up with committee. They don't know that the committee's ever accomplished much, but they can they can put committee together pretty quickly. Great to you on Gary, always always fun sees him. Yeah. Thanks. Thank you. To listening to Paul finebaum show podcast. One thing that we have heard here over the last couple of weeks is just how great Florida is doing in fact after having visited there a couple of weeks ago, I came back sensing a major paradigm shift all the the back and forth of swagger was back. But in the last couple of days things have changed in our next guest. Matt Baker has taken a deep dive into that writing in the Tampa Bay times met always great to have you on. It's before we get to deepen the analysis. Let's talk about the build up, and how we got to this point before the before things have changed because Dan Mullen has has done a remarkable job. Good afternoon. Hey, all thanks for having me on. Yeah. You're you're exactly right. I think the first year and a half or so for for moan at Florida went pretty darn well. It's first recruiting class. Was was good enough. Given the circumstances. Then he goes out and wins ten games in the peach bowl, which is far out seeded, my expectation, then he goes and gets a top ten recruiting class in February and closes really well getting you'll that that George wanted getting the guy in Florida that Bama one the things seem to have been going pretty darn well, and then it kinda worth it all unraveled in the last week and a half. I think that's too strong. But the last week and have been really really rough for Mullen indicators. Okay. Well, let's take them one at a time because they have been they they it's been hard to keep up with them, including what has transpired today. Yeah. Yeah. The the first one was was Jalen Jones the blue chip early enrolling quarterback. He got a week and a half ago that he was entering the transfer portal..

"Testimony couldn't be used against her the grand jurors listened as she admitted a certain extent of the relationship, then she was asked if the most important question did Matt Baker ever tell you anything about his wife's death. So they were quite shocked because she came right out and said he told me that he killed her to be with me from show. Yeah. Big breakthrough that same afternoon. The grand jury returned an indictment on the charge of murder against map bigger. So in March two thousand nine nearly three years after carry his death. He turned himself in on a charge of murder based on an indictment stating that he drugged. And then suffocated his wife. There was a bond set at half a million dollars two weeks later his bond was reduced two hundred fifty thousand so he was able to post bond and. He was released to await his trial. Vanessa was interviewed again by police, and she really opened up telling the details of how her affair with Matt began months before carries death by late February and into March met begin planning how to kill his wife and remember he killed her in April as they continued their affair met discussed plans to kill his wife. So that he in Venice it could be together in these plans included tampering with the brakes on her car. Staging a drive-by shooting using chloroform or rubies the date rape drug to knock her out. Then making it look like a suicide the methods also included hanging Carey or making it appear that she'd intentionally overdosed. Here was she was nonchalantly relaying these conversations finesses showed. Absolutely, no regret. She really didn't. She seemed very like blase about it. You're you know, instead, she left saying that she brushed off his ideas as just being preposterous in the end Vanessa said that Matt focused on drugging Carey he talked about putting it in a milkshake. She said. Data wvu right Mets. It is going to type the suicide note she said she admitted that Matt told her beforehand that he was killing her that Friday, April seventh. He'd also called her the next morning to tell her that it was done. So here's what really enrages me. Is this Vanessa could've saved carries life. She could've was going to do it. So I really feel like she should have been held responsible for that. I don't know what law she'd be breaking there. But there must be something. We think they could nail her for a co conspirator. Yeah. Right. I think they could could've. But at least they got her to cooperate and testify against him. Yes, she's going to be a big factor. Absolutely. Now before the twelfth after months of denying his affair with Vanessa mad admitted to his defense attorney that he had been involved with her for months before Carey died. Now, his defense attorney whose big stipulation was that his clients were always truthful to him was absolutely livid, and he tried to get himself removed from the case. But the judge wouldn't allow it now I think mostly because it would have caused such a delay to get a new attorney and get them up to speed. So he was stuck with the case. And he hated that. He really hated men didn't even wanna meet with them unless he had to write. So Matt's murder trial began in January two thousand ten. Matt test Vanessa testified about Matt telling her how he had killed Kerry..
