"Let's welcome on the line remote from their home. We have mutual Johari and WHITMER. Thomas. Hello How are you guys doing? How's it going? It's all right. I feel like we've like on any given day it's much harder or much easier wit I would say does better with anger. And existential dread than I do but I enjoy cooking more so. Pretty, I have a pretty annoying personality and I think that Knew that going into this. So I think you were prepared for to be like hopping up and down and yelling, and you know doing dances in not talking in my real voice for seven hours street. You Donna character just a mix things up on. Are they any particular voices or were they all made up characters like I know from you know that you're good at impressions I think they're made up characters that have no real writing to them. It's mostly just like this is a guy named pork. And I just get obsesses saying I'm bored. Latch onto a word for a couple of days. We've been watching righteous gemstones, which is very good and okay very, very funny but there's a song but is in righteous gemstones that has been sort of on loop, but with bake lyrics and not real words. Like Scott Right. Very much scattered in the song's called Misbehavin that the characters seeing in that show and so the melody is A. New Orleans, I'll just go like a little fork in my name is for. And I don't know why the. Right now is funny than up I think we're always very funny. Very funny it all comes together full circle. and. meet. Your House work going because you've been working on your series three busy Deborah's right. Yeah. We're. I've in writers rooms for the whole quarantine basically. So mostly very positive. You know it's it's really nice to have a place to quote unquote go every day I have the ways that I've been making it feel like I'm going to work every day or so bleak I bought a I bought a new pair of shoes and they're my work shoes. They only existed in my bedroom, which is where I work I, put on my work shoes and then I'm at work and then I take. I heal yes. Sort of some sexy Lou batons I figured. Just white sneakers. Good. All right not like we haven't warmed up, but we are going to warm up with a game. What's up with the game? Your first game is an audio game. We're GONNA play you a clip of an Oscar winning film and a clip from a pop song. You're just going to tell us the movie and the song and the artist or just any one of those things or thought you've had. A soft place. Exactly. This one's for you. To Get up right now, go to the window, open it and stick your head out and yell I'm with. US. Song is twisted sister. That is correct. And, the artist and the movie is also called to. I don't know the name of that movie though I'm Matt Allen I'M NOT GONNA. Start running around the house talking like that. That's a great impression. We'll help you 6022775827602277 TA are and if you like to text you can also do that at 411 That's the info. Emergency information call. Get the phone number of 1411 Absolutely. And I would get in trouble because it was 10 cents 15 cents. Remember, And you do that 1/2 a dozen times sportsman for a time to forget what that was, but yeah, Yeah. Yeah. You call get board scores? Yeah, exactly. So anyway, if you want to text for 119 to 3 And I just don't drive when you're doing that. Please, let's keep these road safety. I hope everybody's got a good start to the Saturday morning. It was a little cooler. I was up early for a little bit this morning before I took another nap. So it was It was nice and cool outside your car is probably happy to have a reprieve from the heat, even though you know It doesn't know anybody, but it certainly does feel it when it gets over 115 like we weren't you got a river inside that car under that Injun apartment. You're talking it. It's It's really hot in there, so I can't imagine that you guys work on the cars when people bring him into that hot. Well, I'll tell you, Carrie, actually, because that's one of things that want to talk about some of the You know way always want to have a topic something to talk about. Something that's happened on the news and I have really been working in the shop. I'm on the front lines to speak lately. So so what I want to do is bring Thio the listeners, things I'm seeing in the shops of the experiences. Like to do that. But one question. Yeah. Okay. How do we work on the cars? We'll You know, people come in the cars burning hot. Of course, you know, especially if they break down, you know, they come up seven street or come off. I tend to come to my place and they're they're looking for that for shop and the cars are hot. So Yeah, we've got to run water over the radiator just just to cool things down. We also have pourable swamp coolers, even yours. We'll roll those over and just put them in front of the car to cool it down. Even so much so carry transmission fluid. I mean, people think it's just simple to check the transmission food, right? Well, a lot of cars have a dipstick. And now many don't even were servicing the transmission to check the fluid level on a lot of cars. Now you have to have the scan two out. Look at the temperature of the transmission food and you on Ly contest the level when it's between a certain temperature, like you know, I'm making up a number between 141 170 degrees. That's your only opportunity to check that transmission fluid from the right temperature. So we do use coolers a lot even to take apart just to cool it down, Teo. T get to the right temperature for verifying fluid levels on certain certain instances, one of the things that I saw a couple problems with in the shop this week. I wanna talk to you about belts and hoses. And I think belts and hoses can be oversold our over presented to people, especially this time of year, you know, it will will rewind and go back 20 or 25 or even 30 years now. Cash getting old the way you know. We used to replace the belt, Everyone. I was first starting off. I'm working at the gas station. Okay, maybe used to go in the gas station and be all those belts and hoses on the wall and everything Well, couple reasons they need to replace more often, and the gas station, of course, saw more more breakdowns. And then there was also a lot less parts. You had more less part numbers that covered The exact same amount of car so you could have a pretty good inventory. But those hoses used Teo So when I first started out, the same car would come in. Like every year. Every year. They're getting their new hope. Their new belts, but on they're getting a new hose is put on the car's got 40,000 miles. It needs new roses now. Those days are over that that is long, long gone a belt now, you know, we went from a V belt out to a serpentine belt and some cars have a V belt and a serpentine belt. Some have one belts and still have three belts. Some have what they call stretch belts. There is no tension on that belt. There is no tension. Er, it's the stretch it to get it on. There's a special tool, and that's just how the belt works, and it keeps the right tension based off the Elasticity of the belt, but used to be that you would take a look at the belt and you would see visible cracks on the belt, and that's how you determined if the belt need to be replaced. But now and I'm not going to try to pronounce what the belts are made of now anymore, but is rubber and other chemicals and compounds and improvement with technology. So now the belt is much like your tire on the car. It just wears out. It doesn't they don't even crack anymore. The material just wears off. And so we test them with a gauge so lot of times. You know, you might have that we might tell somebody about their car need a belt. But then the coworker.

Because that too was something that when I started to look into I found to be really inspiring any q beauty. blender became such a a surprise to me as a successful they create created as a makeup artist. Trying to find a solution for a problem that I had so. I've been a professional makeup artist to installments installments television celebrity starting music video in the MTV revolution. I'm dating myself a little bit. I am fifty seven years old You know I definitely started doing makeup. been really super creative time and I moved from music video into editorial into which is fashion and music and fashion go together so much as we now And then into film Almond television because some of the clients that I ended up working with on a regular basis started moving from music into some television which was new. You know actors jurors were actors and musicians were musicians. Makeup artists also worked in one genre. You didn't cross I was. I was in the makeup artist. That was very very lucky. Probably timing and I would like to talent that I had Matt Allen that was able to take me from music video to editorial to`real and into some television kind of like a three and I'm just GONNA budget here of and your reputation amongst makeup artists. Right I mean I heard I heard of you. I was an intern at the powder group in New York City. I was waiting for her. Yes Michael and everybody over. There is amazing they had just the best things to say about you as a person as a woman as you know onset and that was around the time where were you launched was was. That's where I was going to make up school and I loved watching behind the scenes as an upcoming artists. Because that's where you could steal like. Okay what's in her cat because yeah because watching behind the scenes was like the secret secret. Nancy drew privates talked about. What was that highlighter? We were macgyver. Ring things were it was a different world. And I'm you know obviously so grateful to this day Because still today with all the different products you know I come out with now with Pity blender Bruin. I WANNA share new things I share with my my pro community because I'm a pro. I mean that's my family you know and I know there's you know we live in a world where there's a lot of different kinds of makeup artists and they're all relevant. They're all important and more amazed that my you know my my the people that you know twenty five years with our in production and that's kind of the Lens that I look at whenever I create products. That's the those are that's my that's my what is it. Called a focus group their focus groups and beauty blender. US was supported. Ride ride away because it worked. It was a tool that made everybody's job easier quicker because we work under time constraints. It's which is very different than real life you know. The whole saying time is money came from the entertainment industry and I think it's specifically came. Aim for the hair and makeup department because they are always rushing alway always always beauty blender allowed makeup artists to be able to do their our job really Quick and you know it. Was this kind of very interesting. Different looking bright pink tool that could very easily have gone kitschy and trendy but it was the support of my pros. That really. You know kind of batted this message home that like. Hey look this is not just a cool cute thing but it actually works so yes so my my pro community is really everything

"Matt allen show who's talk six thirty and ninety seven fm aw finn regards the labor attorney here in the state of rhode island talking to us about the uh about the evergreen contract a bill that his was vetoed in the veto was not overridden and the general assembly session vin outta majid you've agreed agree that this is not the last we've seen of that provision if that speculation but uh i would hope that people would think better about uh a legislative in crew and on collective bargaining well i mean it's it's wife with it i mean isn't true or false constitutionally there's no guarantee um fork for collective bargaining uh uh on a on a municipal in state level you don't have a right to have a collective a constitutional right any way to have a public sector unions correct collective bargaining rights i statutory right so you can if we if we had the political will to do it they could white collective bargaining uh off the map tomorrow in rhode island's matter of fact is an illegal in texas some states where they will have or his way doing some state matt they limit the subject matter over which bargaining uh can be ad and there's some wisdom in that for example in some dearest dickins they do not permit collective bargaining on a subject matters such as health insurance and pension and i believe that the reason for that is a crash in the collective bargaining.
