Justice has also tattooed areas like that before but not that some trust is in all sorts of for various sensitive spot. And this skin. There is just different. "Don't want people to worry about me. A sense of like Reliance i prefer to be the caretaker. Even if i'm not taking care of where do you think that comes from a lot of it does stem from just me growing up in not really being talkative kid and keeping to myself and staying more in the shadows because i never wanted to feel like a burden to anybody and i also didn't really want to express things that bothered me because i want to have those talks because i myself didn't know what the answers were or if there were answers begin stuff you mean or or yeah exactly exactly online just being like i was a young kid and i there was no one no around me who was queer and who i felt could handle i wanted to say and even now like there are certain things that i i keep to myself. It's so ingrained in you from such a young age to just secret. Be this big inside you that exactly. Yeah the just didn't even notice. I've seen you take sort of you know mental health days yourself. I've i've seen and you're on your postings and stuff like that right. Yeah because even. Before this i was doing his thing once a month where a self date where i get like really dressed up at flying aeroplane though i watch a movie or something with just myself but i have been doing those throughout my travels because usually it's like with my travel is still like the way it works is usually get a one way ticket to wherever i'm going do get arrested. I don't have to about missing another flight. Because i've missed so many flights already and so if i had like an extra day at a hotel that i in thousand get arrested. Use it extra day to go swim in the hotel pool and i'll go and buy some fruit. Cut up some of my airplane mode this stevie wonder and just chill and just relax and let myself breathe. I also had a self date. Where all i did was sleep for twenty four hours now. I just slept the entire day. Because i was so so exhausted and i had spent the night in jail previous the previous day. It was so cold in there. But i couldn't really fall asleep and i tried to make a pillow out of my shirt in like a bunch of napkins but just did not work so i didn't get any sleep and i was in there for like sixteen hours so when i got out of my hotel and i slept for the whole day and i was like this is going to be today's self date and i am what i wish. Was that like before in hours. Doing myself dates. They were more intentional but now myself data is like a half a do it because my body will give palm talking of which talking ways but maybe late up conversation that we bit allen's going to do a number gimme a c you. "Amazing person. Can you tell us what's your life has been like. Since the beginning of the summer you know in the beginning wasn't quarantined with the rest of our world and as more of the brutalization of the police was made known to the public uprising began. And so there's kind of like that. Define decision of i stay inside or do i go me being the person i am. I definitely went. I'll say you know. In the beginning. I remember there are telling people if you have any tattoos or and that can make you identifiable to cover up and unfortunately but also fortunately about ninety. Two percent of my body is tattoos. So at first i was going out in a turtleneck and like a ski mask and gloves but summer. New york. Yeah that lasted about two days. And i was like you know. If they're going find me they're gonna find me. I don't care and the more work. I was doing around my own neighborhood. I kind of felt the incentive to go to smaller towns in smaller cities in smaller neighborhoods to kind of encourage them to show them that you know us in the bigger cities. See them in. Were aware of what's happening right where they're at so i started to just Take money out of my savings and travel city to city. And i've been to about now. Say twenty six different cities. wow. I've been arrested nine of them and i've been jailed and four of them. How you go to these cities you learn about even more names and more lives. That have never made the news. Never make the news but the fact of the matter is that a life was taken a is alive. Begin with when you've been traveling around like is the time when you felt that you're getting somewhere. I do have moments of hope on. But they don't last long by moore reminded every day that we don't have as much value as the lives next us to me like one of the beautiful things also sad things sting little children.

"Hey said. Hey. When you look at Raymond seen I, I've heard a lot of guys say. They, feel like Kansas City. Is the same that they have to go through if they WANNA make it to the super. Bowl you guys do the same way about the Ravens and does that make this game? Any more important than the next? But thank you. Obviously, this is the this is a big time football game. You know there's no way around it. You know Monday night football. Plan against you know Super Bowl contenders plan against, you know a team that has really one most of their games since you know Lamar is taken over quarterback. So you know I think for me any other game, but you're obviously the emphasis this you know it's only it's only going to be one first round by this this year so I thank all these conference games are important. you know especially when you plan against, you know teams that you know are going to have the chance to to Kinda take that spot. So those are very born game for especially you know where we played against the chargers and even how played you know in the fourth quarter against Houston Suhel of Opportunity Great, Tony, fuss, and and I know will rise up. Pete, Sweetie. Be. A attire just one off the field question yet registeration event this week I was wondering how that went and I know it's been appointed Memphis's for you and patches how that effort has been going for you in general stemming from that abandoned leading into November. "But what he did and maybe how close he's getting to to join in the other rookies and getting more repetitions, and then I know you've talked a lot about Lamar Jackson. But specifically, Lamar Jackson the passer right? He's known for his legs. Is So far out seventy five percent of for the year I mean he appears to be better does he looked better on date you? It looks for a tremendously I know better I thought it was pretty good last year. But look at his guy that has a real strong I. Tell you what he puts the ball. Throws a ball where they can catch it. I am really impressed by when he fell into that tight end especially on crossing routes and he's got a tremendous deep ball. I don't know where it comes from that. He that he's not a passer etcetera etcetera I think sometimes that happens when you such dynamic runner. But listen he throw the ball effectively and we know that what was the beginning part of the? A Willie Gay. Yes about. listen we will always hopes to play as many guys as we can Madhouse does a great job with Willie Matt Brit. I think he's progressed pretty well, you know he has guys in there really that a little bit more experienced than at his position that he plays this adjustment you gotta go through. So he'll find his way in the. We'll hopefully keep continuing to add on plays and reps and practice and find his way to the game. Scholastic Matt Derek Gordon. Nee, coach you touched on a little bit of Jackson skillset. Guide and you see a lot of other teams and I know last year you had like Alex Brown back their practice replicating what he can do with his legs. How do you prepare for? You know a guy like Jackson Tennessee is so different from a traditional quarterback. Yeah. I listen this been going through this years and years and football. When you have a quarterback like that it's very hard to simulate. What they do, and it's hard to simulate there blocking up front tied to simulate the all the polls and all the motions and shifts that they do you know, and that's part of coaching defense being a player on defense. You know that the first time you go out there and see this offense it's going to be ten times faster than what we've done in practice. No matter how good we do it. So, we got to hope that we come up to speed with what they're doing quickly. That's the challenge of that first series to be quite honest with you. can survive that first series you know. Give. You give you a team obviously, some good field position not give up a lot of it. That's going to help us but it's always a chance. We do the best thing we can do I. Think guys do a great job of film study. And I think with a quarterback like this in an offense like that. I think they have right now I think this could be really important. Coach. "mathieu" Discussed on The MMQB Podcast with Peter King
"Welcome to the Peter King podcast. This is the season opening Peter King podcast. To interesting guests. But I've Al Michaels on the eve of his thirty six season doing NFL Games we'll talk about everything. And particularly we're, GONNA talk about. Mike Tariq Oh taking a few of his games al very willing to do that this year, and we're GonNa talk about the New Stadium Al's hometown Los Angeles? So stay tuned for that and I'm also going to be joined this week in the week that the Kansas City chiefs begin their defense of their super bowl championship tyrant matthews safety team leader for the world champion Kansas City chiefs. Before. You hear from them. Just a few thoughts on my ill-fated picks and I say ill-fated. because. I've been doing this for thirty six years and I've picked it right pick the super bowl correct twice in thirty six years so. I wouldn't take much of what I say with I wouldn't take any of it to Vegas or wherever you do your gambling. But I'll tell you why I made the pick. I picked a Baltimore Tampa Super Bowl. I picked Tampa. Winning the Super Bowl in Tampa, which would be a first. In the fifty five year history of the Super Bowl, a home team winning on its own field. But I'm GonNa tell you a little bit about why I made pick and. I think if you've been reading me this summer particularly on my trip to Taybeh, you saw how Tom Brady was fitting in Tampa. But I you know. Basically here's the way I sort of view making picks like this at the start of the season. If I if you ask me right now who the best team in football, I would say Kansas City. They've got twenty of twenty, two starters twenty of twenty one. Coaches back. they've got the best player in football in my opinion Patrick Mahomes. But I think one of the things that notice is when this fifteen consecutive years without a repeat winner A. Repeat. Super Bowl winner. So that's one part of it. I think the other part is that. You know on September eighth as I record this the Tuesday before the start of the regular season. I can't think of a single year even in the Great New England season of two, thousand, seven where they went sixteen in Oh in the regular season I can't think of. One season in one team where. It looked the same on February eighth. As it did on September eighth. So what's going to happen I don't know but I'll give you three quick reasons why I like Tampa. Number one I think. Brady gives them. An efficient quarterback which they just didn't have last year. I use the note, my column this week that. Tampa Bay one seven games last year while turning it over forty one times the last team to turn it over that many times or more in the NFL. Was the Cleveland browns three years ago and the Browns went oh, sixteen at year. So you know I think there's gotta be something there to be turning over two and a half times a game and still winning seven games. All you have to do is look at the last two games of the year last year. When Tampa Bay should have beaten both Houston an Atlanta. But. Jamie's Winston threw six interceptions. So I think that's one of the reasons why bullish in Brady coming back obviously so much more efficient quarterback. But you look at the at the cast around Brady and the very young cast on defense. And I think particularly in when I look at the at the top to bottom the receiver group Titan Group, even running backs now with the addition of Leonard Fournette. I just think this is going to be the best set of ofensive skill players, the Tom Brady's ever played with and I include two, thousand, seven with that. With. Randy Moss in New England top to bottom this group is better. One thing about Tampa. that. The thing that I normally would probably worry me quite a bit. Is that other than Rob Gronkowski they don't have and Brady obviously they don't have people who've been down the long road and gone and multiple championships before I would think that's a little bit worrisome. Think that. In o'brady is the rising tide that lifts all boats and I don't think that's going to be huge factor in this season. I think what could be a difficult factor is that? A The bucks even if they make the playoffs may have to make it as a wildcard. And then could get to the Super Bowl could have to win three road games which. Obviously. is going to be really would be really difficult giants have done it twice but you can't really well giants one one home game the one year against the Patriots but. They have done it. Pittsburgh is done it, but it's it's very, very difficult to do obviously so. I would I guess I would just say that that this is a this is a pick a gut feeling. And I just think Tampa is going to be a really good team in a force to be reckoned with this year. Two other quick things about my picks. Baltimore winning the AFC. Think that you have to look at the entire of landscape. First of all, Baltimore has much easier relatively speaking schedule than let's say Kansas City in Baltimore has a. Ranked by two thousand, nineteen schedule the easiest schedule of foes in two, thousand, twenty in the NFL after they go at after they go to Houston and week to they do not have a long road trip their longest road trips seventy minute flight. To Indianapolis so. I think Baltimore is in good shape and obviously, I, think everybody would say boy we really got to see Lamar. Jackson do it. And, there's no denying he's played poorly in two postseason games so I think that I think he will be better but I also think one of the things about Baltimore in drafting J. K. Dobbins in the second round this year the Ohio state running back they are even deeper To supplement what was the best running game in football last year by by yardage so I, think they're going to be good enough so that all of the pressure does not have to go on. Jackson shoulders..

"Amtrak's your clothes out. Good. How you doing today Good Hair. No, you're familiar with Clyde Edwards hilarious game from from Lsu but just wonder now you've seen for a few weeks on the practice field are close any thoughts on his game and maybe whether you've learned anything about him over the last few weeks now I'm I'm GonNa die hard Lsu guy so. I've saw his tricks before you know he's got here You know more impressed about the the the the team teammate he's becoming assuming the lack of interacting guys younger than them older than him You can see him taking coaching taking criticism. You know not everybody can be coached by Ebay. You know So to see a guy still smiling you know after the tough days I think that's that's joy to see and then I'm. Just, looking forward to send him get out there and do what he does. Best I. Think he's GonNa be a great fit in no fire offense. I think he's GonNa be somebody you know coach Reid can really count on and can really stay up late at night trying to find a way to get him mismatch So I'm looking forward to it. You know he's a guy that obviously can can run the football really well, has vision is great. especially. For a rookie could see all the holes even back. and then in the passing game, you know I think he's a guy that can really like I said cream matchup problems for posing defense. So I'm just looking forward the other teams try to cover. Our team, you know when they get five out. So I I, think clouds going to be a big part of that. Tyrant appreciate your time today my friend. Thank you. I'm curious just as far as how the roster ended up. You know how you feel about special teams group in particularly some of the guys that you feel can contribute immediately. I. Think it's Great. I think they did a great job kind of it kind of worked out the way we thought it. Would we have great communication here? So you know visas a real good job and making sure that there's no surprises you know. So everybody's on the same page and we know when changes are going to occur. And really, it worked out kind of like just just the way we wanted it to and. You know I'm really happy and pleased with the guys got. Go to Pete Sweeney goodfeet. Good Morning Dave I have two questions, I. Harrison buttered sounded like he came back a little bit stronger in the off season I was wondering if you have a range in mind of course, I know when they'll go into that but in a vacuum where where do you feel comfortable and then secondly, what type of year do you think McColl Hartmann is going to have what? What are your expectations for him gay I with Bucker I think He did he had a great off season he worked hard. You know whether it was lifting weights is diet and Getting out and kicking I. think he kicked a little bit more off than he hasn't been passed and He came back strong. I mean. I I'd say he probably increases range by about five yards. who his other range last year I think was. How would probably take them back fifty five you know we could probably take him back to sixty in a vacuum I mean it's it's unbelievable but he's that strong obviously when the that's the big factor win. The weather obviously cold weather. Has something to do with it but in a vacuum, I think he could hit a six yard and I feel pretty good with it. As far as far as McColl. McColl is we're expecting good things from coal he. He I think he's going to take a major strides in. His kick returnability I really think he's on the verge of being being really really good explosive. He's explosive already, but he's GonNa be even better. So we're excited about him the way he's developed..

"Way to go far getting prepared to play on Thursday I'm just wondering how much you believe in what he said and curious if you could get. Her ready for Thursday. Well, I know what? Coach O'Brien say okay and and I'll say this just being on a team that loss. In a playoff game. To a team from the previous year, they're going to be fired up. So regardless of what he says I know that team is going to be fired up and excited about coming in here on a Thursday night prepared to come in and and and and put it on us. The thing that we just got to do is make sure that our intensity. Also that we're mentally physically prepared to go out and do the things we prepare ourselves to do. So regardless, all coaches speak don't mean anything when that whistle kicks off, you know what I mean. It's time to go to work. Yeah. Everybody wants OTA's everybody wanted all the extra time to prepare to get to this point. But you know what we're a couple of days away doesn't matter those guys are GonNa be ready to play regardless. Got Time for a couple more guys Adam Tyson the name Taylor go down. Eric, how're you doing today? What's going on and by the way we've heard that word you sat right at the star. We heard you say that a few times on the practice field so don't feel bad. I wrote my reputation. It's already there a lot of people know about it. You talked about Clyde maybe on the first drive certainly you remember the first time you gave the ball cream hunt when he was rookie yes. So because out you, you say especially Clyde. Now you know what Guy Score field that first time. So his day as as a former running back and as a former running back coach, you address the issues of turnovers. We've hit that with guys since we started preparing for this team and one thing that we do know in the League, the first game is always the highest number of fumbles, our turnovers in a game. So the thing that we focus on his make two guys understand hey, boss. Security is the utmost importance we do know of we protect the football, our chances of winning increases higher. You know there's a number of drills that we can do, but also to just making sure that guy's a focused in on just protecting the ball guys are running to the ball because sometimes things happens in guys got to put themselves in position to make sure that being accountable in being there in the right place at the right time but you never. Go and talk to a guy and say, Hey, you know Koreans I carry. He fumbled the ball. Well, no, that's not the deal as a running back coach or a former running back coach in coast dealing has addressed this woody. Two hands on it in traffic, tighten the open field on the way down make sure your spirit in going down to the ground. At the end of the day you WanNa. Make sure your hand in the ball back to the risk. Nate Taylor to close out nate. Air I'm interested to hear how you're. You are see Klein as receiver right based on what he did Lsu last year in the simple fact that you guys don't have preseason game. Statement him catching the ball your offense just out to see that element of his game authors. You know what I'm looking for. Here's the thing. I'm looking forward to watching the kids play and there's a number of things that he put on tape in College. We all know how tremendous of a runner he is. He has greatest next between the tackles as run he has great feet and traffic As good as he would have liked to have been in protection, he's worked as. A Co. stealing and also he's done a heck of a job a working with patio line and making sure he understands all the protection calls so he can do do the right things we'll call it upon but also to he's done a heck of a job out of the backfield for his entire camp of catching the football he's a football player that happens to play the running back position and we're satisfied with all the progress that. He May as May so far, and the thing that we just wanted to do is just focused on being the best of who he can be don't need anything more of him I just need him to go out and focus one play at a time and understand that. Hey, when that Klay comes and you have an opportunity to be great, just make sure you have mentally physically prepared yourself this week for that defining moment on Game Day. "For some of us the message of had been falls on our brown like a ton of breaks we can barely keep our eyes open in these days and now the advent proclamation like an annoying alarm is going off in says you know what time it is now is the moment you know what time it is now is the moment for you to wake from your sleep for celebration is near to and when we became believers keep awake there for for you do not know on what day your lord is coming and both are tax from roman's and from mathieu sleep is the metaphor for what it means to be completely unaware or ignorant to the coming up gaa both in our time and in our place as well as when god comes again at the end of human history to finally once and for all put the world to rights that's the funny thing about sleep metaphorically speaking right when you are tired of the darkness when you're tired of the having this when you're tired of all the the challenges that that that you face when you're when you're tired of all the strife you close your eyes and it does good for you metaphorically speaking when you sleep you ignore it you pushing away become ignorant to it maybe you your pubes rounded out the addiction or through certain behaviors that that allow for you're not to have to deal with those challenges so we we close our eyes and be sleeping rethink yeah that's a good thing we think of shakespeare smith better who said at this once lead admits up the rapid sleeve of care of the death.

"Jesen self said dowload to those in and that day who were nursing you know he gives up a dreadful account to mathieu what's coming so honestly think about what you're saying in what you're hoping for you know as you out as you discuss this election i'm one of my biggest frustrations i would love to change this and i would love to be a conduit to help changes is to get christ followers of christ link and study and read and know what they believe and not be babies in the end script sure to really go date and and to be smart and why is you know god makes us wise and smart but we have to do i think i said this in a different way we have a responsibility to grow up at him and of open the knowledge of the word so that we don't just express opinions and then put gods name on them and it does for me all of us it's a constant effort to represent christ thankfully and to sort out our own thoughts and opinions i d is from those that gawd get a lineup with got himself that's a lifelong pursuit i have to say art i wanna hear what you have to say i am a little good show in not texas come morning jo yes it hurts here defense for those excellent words you know what you know that there's an organization all day we call themselves skeptics for choices that put propane against out in many newspapers across the country recently we just played lorne green's report on that you know did you know that attendance ago yeah yeah we okay thankfully it's catholic fear appalled and by that and we were really proud of arts there should be cardinals who spoke out very strongly that it was really cool click to hit but we needed all take your challenge of you know speaking up and then brain you know it.
