"I always make sure that. I actually mean it. Otherwise it'll come across kind of like weird but either way. Like i'm not gonna i now more aware of using negative language around a person because i don't want to program them in a negative way but i think we should all learn this because people are bleeding all over other people and infecting them with their fear and it needs to stop feel like doctors never have told me i'm glowing and i would have liked to. Doctors are terrible. Like i had a doctor. Just recently of course would have been amazing. You're glowing anyone. Wants to hear that. I had a doctor who clearly didn't know. Nlp and he comes in he goes. He goes so bad news bad news and i'm like what what he goes your thyroid. It should be at a five. Should be at a four but it's at a five very bad. I was just like it's not bad. It's not that bad. You came into telling me. I thought you were going to say something actually. Yeah exactly what popped through. I think what you're what you meant to say was high so interesting things. Your blood looks great. You're healthy and you're four. It should be at a five or whatever. The numbers are so. What were you going to do to fix this. Is this this this but you're going to be in good shape and then have me leaving feeling. Okay i know things may be done but like they need to be so careful and some of them are just not is yeah. I also have fired stuff as well but i remember like the first test was. The person was like your thyroid is fine. We just want it to be in this zone. That's good yeah. I'm sorry did you say anything to him. Well i mean during it. I was just kinda like i mean. That's not that bad. You said bad news. I was just kinda like lightly dabbling. But i mean it's it's really hard to say. I find it really hard to say anything to doctors but well he was also he had. He didn't have the best english. So i took it also like well. Maybe he just doesn't understand what he's saying to me. He's just trying to get the words out because he doesn't know on. Oh yeah i was just like sometimes. I do pull people aside. Hey listen so. And then i also have to know my place and be like you know what i try to like save. I don't know like yeah. I get really tired and people find me annoying if i do that. It's tough to be annoying. I want to be liked. Same yes Listen it was great talking to you. Thank you so much. I appreciate you taking the time to come on the show letting me ask you personal questions to interest mere everyone et cetera. I'm gonna. I'm gonna i'm gonna. What does it call to version..

"Often says really wild and crazy know. I remember when i learned that my dad doesn't use shampoo. He rinses his hair. I mean i think maybe he's shampooed now and again but not frequently my old producer. Jeff used to style has hair with a bar of soap which still mystifies me because like what if it rains. And then there's just soak dripping down your face men and their grooming. I tell ya que crystal. Renn says have already done tony. Have i done this one window in through a drive through. I get embarrassed. If i have to order face to face with an employee i prefer to order into the speaker less guilt over what i'm getting. Does that ring. A bell doesn't sound familiar. Okay when do you ever order with a person. Sometimes like like in-and-out will do that now. Sometimes they'll have like a person outside with like an ipad kind of thing they'll come and take your order. Oh yes starbucks starbucks. I think does that sometimes too I don't personally have this. But i totally get where it's coming from. Yeah same. I'd say same as well. I don't ever think that the person's going to judge. Yeah but that being said. I don't think what i'm going to drive throughs. I'm ordering anything too crazy. It's when i would go to the donuts store. That's when i would kind of get embarrassed because it would like if you're eating your feelings you're going to dislike project that onto anybody taking your order. I think like what was your donuts. Store order a donut store. You know the donut store. I would get an apple. Fritter maple bar and then the donut. With a hole. In its pink pink. Strawberry dressing i love a doughnut with ex stressing frosting frosting the more cake kind of had like frosting with sprinkles. So yes all three of those. When i was feeling things dot process was your donuts store. Dunkin donuts no that was bef- dunkin donuts. Just came here didn't it. This was like years ago. I don't do this anymore got it. I've healed it with hypnosis. I wanted to ask you this my last question unless unless i think of others You have a certification in neuro linguistic programming right. Yes to what what is that. And what motivated you to do that. I actually did it before vine so i quit. My waitressing dropped job at daily grill and then became certified in nlp because this woman did on me without me knowing really what it was. And i remember. She did one night. And i was like tearing up in the meditation or hypnosis and i felt really good for like a month and i was like what but i didn't know why felt so good and then it's was like oh. Yeah because i did this this this this you can get certified with me If you'd like and i'll give you a scholarship and all this stuff. And i did it. And i honestly believed that. That was what started.

"Do we grow up with these fantasies of how it's going to be when we meet the one and so then when you meet someone who is trying to seduce you and trying to sweep you off your feet and it is moving fast and it feels intense. There is a temptation to go. This is what i've been waiting for my whole life. This is what it's supposed to be like. That's exactly how i felt. I was like. I can't believe all this hard. Work of working on myself and spirituality and all these classes that i've taken all the work like i finally i can't believe it like god does love me because he brought it brought whatever it is brought this man and i got that feeling of like you know when you know you know that people would talk about and i was like. I can't believe. I'm getting my own little fairytale like this is it always felt too good to be true but like i just accepted it. You know. and he didn't sound like he is. We were spending every second together. So it's like the only time we weren't together was when he was in the shower. Doing you know what so. It's like i. I want to take so much responsibility for my part and i feel like i have because i could have done so much better as far as like know pausing being more patient not having him stay with me. The first week he came back. I was like of course. He's gonna stay with my husband. Yeah but like now. I wouldn't do that. I'd be like no if you want to be with me. You'll you'll wait kind of thing. Things that i just didn't really do before. None of this matters when you know you know kind of thing and so what. We're saying. I was just talking. I was just talking about the the fairy tale aspect of it. But oh yeah. He met my mom before he met me right and so he did all these things. That seemed like no other guy would do that unless they were serious like he had a cough. My mom lived in california at the time and she knew that my husband was coming as i say it and she goes i mean should i meet him i and i was like no no no and then i told him that. She said he goes. I'd love to and that a two hour coffee right and so like my whole family was like he's your person. We have the same in clubs like he was literally born the day. My parents got married to the year so there was all these signs that were like. He's literally rice born for me kind of thing and and so when it when this happened when i got this news i was.

"Because i still had so much consideration for him and i was like this is i don't want to write about this like oh let's bash this guy like yeah. I'll say what he did quick quickly but my point is that the reason and how i got through it is that i didn't take personal. I realised that her people hurt people. And i'm gonna continue keeping my heart open regardless of how one man treated me which i think. A lot of people shut their heart off. And they say they generalize and they go. Oh all men are bad. So therefore i'm never going to date again in that i was just like this is not a lot is about me but this isn't like this and then i found out after the book came out that like he was doing it the whole free time the man like i think he conned me like i found out all sorts of stuff that i really didn't need to know about and it but it solidified that i made a good decision in walking away because i tried like we went to therapy after like even though everyone's like no like this is way too soon like you don't have kids like you just got but i was like but i married him and maybe this sickness. He wants to get better but he just said whatever. I wanted to hear you know. How did remind me how you met him. We met on instagram. I saw him. He was living in our sorry he was visiting l. a. While i was living in new york. And i saw him in one of my friends instagram stories. And i was like who is that. Who is that. i feel like i know him. That's so weird. And then i went to his page. And then i went to send a message and saw that he already written me. Eighteen months before that kinship. That you felt with him right away. How do you regard that now..

"I started going on trips. Like i worked with disney went to Australia and shanghai to the premier and met all these actors and other influencers and yet definitely led to opportunities. I thought it would lead to me. Being a movie star. It hasn't yet so we're still waiting. Yeah any day now. We're going to see those vines. I they're just all intimidated by my wisdom so like she's just too much she's gonna shine the light on all our darkness that's right. I'm not ready for her to see inside. Yeah were you. Sad when vine went kaput. Yeah but it was like a delayed sadness. i think. I had it in my head months before i was like this can't last but that was more on a personal thing of like this success can't last not so much the app. I didn't think that the app which is literally vanish. So i was sad. I think the sadness came later. When i realized oh i'm not going to be seeing these people anymore that i collaborated with every day because just creating vines such different game beast than creating youtube videos or whatever and it just kind of felt like everybody went their own way because we were growing up and so yeah the sadness also hit later because i realized i lost three million followers. Like where are they I didn't do what some of the people did which was follow me on instagram grant. Follow me here. Go to like. I didn't cross promote enough which i obviously regretted because Y'all those followers just out in the ether but tiktok moran thank god for that slot of fun i. I'm the only human being not on tiktok. I know i need to get on tiktok. I had an account. And then i raised it. And i need to get back on their but is tiktok your Your vine now. I say so. I mean you know. I'm older now. I have a different sense of humor or a little bit different i- tiktok so much more than just comedy where i felt like vine was so calm comedy heavy and tiktok for everybody and i like i love it now whereas i was really resistant at the beginning of the pandemic i was like i'm not doing tiktok..

Kristen stewart is getting therapy advice from kim kardashian and people liked that a lot and then yes so i was online. I had like two hundred followers. I didn't know getting a follower. I didn't know getting followers was like a thing at the time. And then someone was like. Hey put up your christmas. During than i did overnight had like ten thousand views or something and then and then i ended up having like five hundred thousand followers a month because i kept going. I kept doing the impression and other impressions and other videos in than yeah. That's how my internet stardom started. Do that feel exciting time. Oh my god it was so fun it was so fun waking up and seeing the ninety nine plus and then it kept refreshing and then yeah all the all the views i was like people are seeing. This is insane because in my mind as an actress. I'm like the way that i'm gonna make. it is probably just. I'll do three co stars and then five guest stars and then eventually i'll get in this room like i have no idea what i was doing so to get that and to have that happened was crazy and it was way better because then i was able to just be myself in film anytime i wanted and it brought back that childhood sense of wonder of like you. I love filming the remember. I love filming and now you get to do it. so cool. And did the vine stardom open doors lead to things etcetera. It led to funniest winds which was the hit show on cbs. Yes that it led to that it led to. I made a feature film. i didn't make it. I was in a feature film created by my father..

"Because i think there 'cause they're uncomfortable hearing someone's emotion about something and they think that that's the way to to fix it. Yeah man you. And i really have everything figured out the other people. I hope they catch up there so behind. And i'm the queen of the universe. And just do what i did. I have a better life. But it's like we're so advanced. It's incumbent on us gas to like be at their level but it is hard sometimes. I always have to drop downs efficiently to interact with the humans. At night i float back up and become the angel that i am. Yes but i'm yeah same girl. It's such a pleasure to talk to someone else. Who's at the peak of enlightenment as i am. What was school like for you. Well it was great until i moved until sixth grade. My parents decided to pluck me. Out of sherman oaks and then we went to calabasas which was fine except that i didn't have any friends and it was a very rich school and we had money but like not compared to the people that lived in gated communities so i just felt really alone and it was actually pretty horrible because i was stripped away from something that i was so comfortable being myself with and so i felt like i had to recreate my identity. But i wasn't recreating something. That i liked at all i was again. I became really quiet. Withdrawn occasionally. I would tell jokes friends with laugh. The only thing that was really powerful and was dancing. I always have felt free dancing from birth to now that will. I don't think i'll ever go away. But my personality definitely dipped from moving and i cheated a lot in school. I was to nerve wracked. I would powdered. Donuts out of my backpack couldn't pay attention for the life of me unless i sat in the front which finally i realized. Oh i can't see far away and that was a huge problem. And i knew that that like i'd saw differently than other people and so i remember one year. I sat up front because the teacher yelled at me for talking in the back. And then i was able to see the board and i did really well in the math test but yeah i was not a great student so concerned about people liking me again. There was just like just wanted to fit in so badly. I still do all the time. I felt that. When i went to college i was like what do we have a social life and do work and once more important than having a social life. That's absurd getting went to santa barbara city college. It was all about drinking and partying and just going out is like i never i. Sometimes i just skipped class. I was like this doesn't matter now. You said that you still.

"Been thinking about and reading about and working on in therapy this idea that as children our job is not to put our parents emotions in needs before ours. But that's hard you know your because we're around them if they knew better than they would have done better than they would have been able to be like. Hey me yelling. That wasn't about you. Please don't take that in. I'm going to do better to yell over there or to do away from you. Because i know that your child and you don't know how to process it but like what parent like now. We're all into self help in therapy. But guaranteed twenty thirty forty years ago known was doing that shit they were just like doing their best and they would just scream when they wanted to scream and they didn't realize how it is affecting the child and then they didn't learn how to apologize. If my dad would yell at me he wouldn't sit me down and be like men. And it's because i'm unhappy and i took it out on you and i'm so sorry and that's not yours. I'm gonna do better next time. He would just like yellow me. Say go to your room. And then come come in the room and then opened his arms and expect me to hug him. And then i would resentfully hug him and then hold onto this like because you come in the world trusting your parents and then at some point they lose your trust right until they amend it and do better but most so for me. That's how i process is like oh you're my hero but then i lost trust in you and now i'm resentful and how do we process this and then it shows up in every single relationship moving forward because the first seven years are the most impressionable time for humans right and for me it was just there was this incongruity because i couldn't assimilate it with the wisdom or realizations that an adult would have of like. Oh you're you know these are you guys. Were very human and not perfect but as a child it was just like but i have them on a pedestal. But sometimes they do things that make me feel bad and i didn't know how to make sense of it at all. Yeah and for me to like. They didn't when i would emote or have feelings. Oftentimes it was met with them taking it personally and then they would know how to hold the space for me and so instead of being like. That's okay let out. I got you. They would be like. Oh my god. She's hungry. Oh god man in your to so sensitive and then i would shame internalize. Oh my god. I must be a horrible person for not only feeling but just existing because look my presence is angering them and so that would that i mean that's why i started drinking at sixteen. I mean that's not why. But when i found alcohol i was like oh this feels good. I feel like a kid again. I'm not thinking about who to. And so but i think that's it. I think like so the relationships that i'm in now make sure that we all just say i got you and we don't judge we don't respond like oh my god you're crying we just go. Yeah that's fine. That's nice and we were learning to hold the space better for each other. i think As a whole hopefully i don't. I can't say that for everybody but like that's that's a healing tactic for sure to just allow person to be where they're not. Try to fix it. Yes not try to tell them what they should be doing. No nobody wants that. They just don't unless they ask for unless you've grieved it and then you say okay actually no. I am looking for advice but most people give advice without knowing that the other person actually didn't want advice right..

"Free of the need for other people to approve of us or maybe it's not a lie. I don't know what do you think about all this. And where are you with all of that. Yeah well i. I think it's true. Yes of course. It's i think it's important to always like take that space in the morning because apparently how your morning is determines the way that your day's gonna go. And if i'm starting the day in comparing my numbers another person on instagram or seeing somebody in hawaii and i'm not there and automatically i'm in defeat and not good enough. That's my day is going to be carried with those thoughts. But if i start the day you know the first hour of power you take your day before your tape day takes you you meditate. You can do self care nurturing things to where you're like setting yourself up for success so you feel like you're aligned with your your power. Whatever so i do. I don't think it's realistic to just not need approval from anybody. I think the trick is to look at it. In a way of we'll how do i know that they're approving of me or not like is it just because they're are shaped like how do we know we're being approved of or story that we're telling ourselves in our head that they are approving but so much of a so much of it for me even nowadays. I'm learning like oh i've lived so much of my life because of trying to please people and it's not even they don't they don't care they're not thinking about what is man and doing only we're all thinking about ourselves and so that's why i say it's most important to become best friends with yourselves to know how you feel about something before taking it out into the world because that's the that's the opinion that matters most as well the one that's been with you this long. It's going to be with you until the day you die of. You don't become best friends of you..

Yeah i'll let it slide but that's two times now i think so. What kind of stuff have you been doing last time. We talked you loudly. Broke a chair at a broken. I haven't broken any more pieces of furniture. Yeah nothing you know. I've been trying. I felt like that was kind of my bad boy. That really was my bad boy quota. For this past week i felt like push it too far a ration ration the bad especially as you get older. No offense i know. Do.

"mathews" Discussed on Couple Things with Shawn and Andrew

"By ring right site. We're going to get what is up. Everybody welcome back to couple of things. Sean andrew podcast all about couples and the things that they go through today's interview. I felt like kind of gone on for hours. Because it's andrews like bro of all bros. jordan mathews and his wife shayna williams matthews who might be the most boss couple we've ever interviewed just because they're probably the most athletic couple i've ever met in my entire life. So a high level intro. Is this jordan. Mathews was a teammate of mine. From vanderbilt he ended up getting drafted in the second round the philadelphia eagles. He married another vanderbilt student. Shayna williams now matthews. Who played in the world cup who also draft. Yeah who's playing professionals drafted i. She's insane. she's in saint. Both of the are incredible. Athletes have two kids now and We did we kind of relief. Some old memories. We tried to crop this down to make it approachable for everyone to listen to because jordan china had some really good things to say to i. I enjoyed their perspective on things and how they approach their relationship. They have so much going on in their lives jordan is. He's bouncing from team to team two team. He's been on a couple of teams in the past couple of years. And as we know that can affect your lifestyle especially as you're growing a family and shayna is pursuing her professional career. They're actually right now. In louisville they're also starting a Sportswear company called seed and sweat which is amazing Group of tights and athletic wear maternity. Yes but done right so you can actually be active and at work. I think one of my things about this interview. Is you see how each person in this relationship respectively is going at it. A hundred and ten percent for their dreams. Their ambitions and our goals in their succeeding in their gaining the world's attention but yet but yet they've figured out how to do that alongside each other in such a respectful way to not compromise trust and to still support one another and love one another and show each other. How excited they are. it was just. It was really cool to hear how they're going about doing this in such a boss whe was cool to see how they're both very ambitious and both Pursuing those ambitions but keeping each other as the first priority. So if you want to find out more about what jordan shayna up to will link their information down below We used to call jordan jay matt three times because i was a social media handles which i still think it is but will wall will link down below And also before we jump into it we wanted to start a new section in the intro. Which is the common of the weeks last week. We did The episode on communication where. We shared ten lessons that we've learned in communicating and it seems like a lot of people enjoyed that talked a lot about expectations of time. Yes which is funny because yeah we've had some run ins with time in the past couple of days that's true and actually the common of the week. This week is from anna who said One thing that works for my spouse and is to share locations with each other. If we have iphones which i feel like there's a mixed bag on that. If people are comfortable doing that or not. I feel like i askew on not being a fan of that. Do you think he shared location. But we never look at it. I'm a. I'm a fan of it not to like snoop on you but to not be the wife that's like asking every five minutes where are you. I think it'd be really easy to use at the end of the day when it's like. Oh i wonder if he's on his way home instead of calling you are bothering you. Be like check earnest but yeah. I think that it's a blurred line. That's hard that's on a case-by-case basis let us know where you stand on that issue and also We will be doing common of the week in every intro Will try to sell some comments to talk about. And while you're at it subscribe this show and give it a rating on whatever platform. You're listening on. We love hearing your feedback. We love doing the show for you so we'd love to continue and doing you. Doing that helps us do that. So let's go jump into this one with jordan and shayna matthews. I gotta say. I don't know if i've ever been more excited off. Have been more excited. Or maybe even nervous for an interview jordan. Because i feel like we're just gonna blast each other the whole we've.

Yeah but that was born and raised here. Yeah love it here yeah. It's great so the three of us actually all went to the same college around the name and period so there's a lot of shared memories in friends and so on so anyway school could have you here. We haven't had that many interviews with scholars who are from portland in fact Any i double high five. Yeah we gotta do you. Did your dissertation written a book on the story of milk kislyak and the role that he plays and hebrew bible before we get to nerdy about that though Maybe share with our audience. Your story who you are how you ended up maybe jesus and then how you ended up in biblical studies. Yeah grew up in a family that christian family. Both my parents came from christian family. So it's kind of more than i knew growing up and the bible was always valued. I mean not perfectly or anything like that of course but Always kind of had a sense of its importance and through high school. I kind of started to think more seriously about it. Like have some sort of a aptitude or not an aptitude like a taste for wanting to study at more seriously. Where some like role models or figures who you thought were awesome and they cared about the bible or just just youth group leaders and my dad and grandpa. Kinda the heritage. Yeah my grandpa. He by different bible every year and read through it every year and like make not save it and put it on the shelf. let's grandpa. Yeah that's cool. Yeah my dad's dad. So that was that was kinda whenever we visited them. I've see him first thing in the morning up doing that. And i'm just. I think as a little kid that made a big

"Well we get an interesting guest. Our special guest. Dr matthew levy is an associate professor at johns hopkins department of emergency medicine. He leads hopkins division of special operations which provides for central command and coordination of emergency medicine. Operation and dr levy is board certified in emergency medicine and a sub specialty certified in ems. He's the guy who sets up the teams and strategies that we don't even know we need until god forbid we need them. Thanks for joining us actor levy. Hey doing okay after greetings. It's wonderful to be here. Thank you so much for having me and for that. Very warm reduction so division of special operations. What exactly is that sounds more military than civilian well. It's structured is what i would say and indeed our division special operations at johns hopkins. The division really got its roots nearly two decades ago in being the central focus for all of the out of hospital medicine activities that johns hopkins emergency medicine overseas and that includes the interval syllabi transport programming includes some of our operational medical programs in support of tactical law enforcement medicine special event medicine and a few other topics and initially had some roots in disaster medicine. Which has also grown into its own unique and blossoming flourishing specialty area or focus area so we were close with some of our colleagues as well nowadays so are you coordinating and training these guys on the line. The guys who show up first. Those first responders that were so appreciative for well. It certainly is a team effort. I would say that. I'm one of the people doing that. Training in my role as an ems medical director. I certainly work very closely with our ems. Educators and helping to design implement and facilitate the delivery of educational content. And yes. i do spend a good portion of my time. An educator not only educating our physician colleagues but also educating our pre hospital emergency medical services clinicians in those lifesaving conditions recognition treatment management

In busting fake. right student of James Randi. if you WANNA know all about how all of this sort of stuff is fake to. Go Watch this movie and honest liar. Of the secret. Ben. There's no spooky effort. And it really kills me to see how many people. Go on TV better complete utter frauds. And even worse people who claimed to be Psychic That are clear frauds I mean James Randi. He busted Yuri Geller. He busted fill the brown he busted. David what's his name that did the readings and our crowd? I can't think of his name. No. Two bus. To bus like it's. and. Once. You learn that and he had that under your belt, which is what I had to teach. Kevin. been it becomes very obvious. We had a fellow come down there. That was a part of a ghost hunting group out of Norfolk I'm not mentioning any names. He had already sold a false story about the house. Gloucester. Do Some teeny show. And I knew that that was a lie because I knew the house he was talking about but when he came down to old house woods. He claimed he saw a skeleton with glowing green around him carrying a green lantern walking up from the beach coming right and past the porta-pottys right down the pass. And walked right up to him and was asking him if this was the king's highway. You know you can get. Right. So I'm Dan and. Kevin's Giggling 'cause we have to pay bad cop. Good Cop. The Kevin Beginning over there are non sitting here being Mr Serious you know. And what was really sad if he brought this whole group of people with him. That apparently. You know. Believe this story. And then they come down there and I just busted him wide open. And they're threatening they're looking like Oh my God. I'm like look you know. This is serious. We're not down here having a spook run we're really. Working on scientific material, collecting data and these sorts of things. All right. We're not looking for somebody's. Psychological trip. And we have to be very clear about that because a lot of people have stories. About old house woods. That are not real I mean there's a ton of them out there that are. I mean, they're just so preposterous it's hilarious and then when I started researching that I come to find out that the majority of those stories came from Mac. Force House. Clorox sees 500 percent increase in demand for disinfectants as it ramps up production

"Clorox factories working overtime to meet a five hundred percent spike in demand. In some cases we sold as much in one week as we normally sell in one month. We are completely uncharted territory. And we're in catch up mode than door or is the CEO of Clorox. Will people be able to go to the stores and find products in stock on the Shell? We know that right now. We cannot make enough products for everybody. We think we will be in a substantially better shape by the summer June July. Or is that what you're thinking we're ramping up supply components however is the consumer demand and that today is outside our control. The company says it increased production of disinfectants by forty percent. But that's still not enough. We are shipping products stores every single day. Whether that's physical stores online stores. But they're gone pretty much right. Wendy arrive our cameras. Were not allowed inside clorox facilities because of health and safety concerns but the company shared this video with NBC News. A rare look inside. Its largest. Factory churning out giant bleach drums. That can clean fourteen thousand hospital rooms each and the wipes and sprays that we all use at home while clorox is ramping up production. They say that the safety of their nearly nine thousand employees is the priority so they're making changes at factories like this one including staggered breaks face and temperature checks. I now think of June July yes five months and you've got some news sweetie sort of prompted you to to make a decision. Yeah Ace. This is a tough call. But I've decided family trains manages. It's time to call it a day. What a phenomenal Korea? Korea achieve more than thought I would have. I exceeded my consensual. Absolutely you know I never very my wildest dreams thought I didn't find a Madison Square Garden so look over my shoulder and I'm content. I'm happy with my career bull. Well it's time to call a day. I always said I wanted to get out of the game with all my faculties intact and I'm going to stick to my poem is not so I'm going to given well. Congratulations on an amazing career but oversee this is probably my difficult vineyard done. In ten years I retired about four or five times in the last a six months and just announced today would start crying. I don't know he will know. I've cried no Fato you now. The Classic Moments Not GonNa lie of being that'd been docked to being twelfth being over because I don't worry tie little fight in love everything about all of the come opening Cameron louds physicality of Avenue. You know gain in there and I've been a little bit percents There's no way I fi- why and someone awards I've been involved in. He goes swimming. You get what you know. He's how many more wars have. Where do I draw the line? Do I have one war too. Many interesting I've achieved my mountaintop. I've known world champion The best fighter in the world book of our right good goal of made to talk caught. Memories are properly really. We're GONNA talk about some of your your best memories and best fights and stuff over the next so forty five minutes dish. You've come coming to the end of the year career as you know you can always have just one more fight but actually to draw the line and walk away before that one more fight becomes two more free more. Yeah yeah he's actually probably brave room. I get back in the ring. Yeah it's not money does get it right and when the right hammers to to get out and five very yes you have you look at examples of guys lead. Floyd mayweather obsolete aren't right Joe Calzaghe don't rate. There's not many more that the the difference like just getting out of boxing at the right time. We're not talking like levels of war. People are in the sport but very few fighters get it right and a problem with a lot of geysers they lose a fate and they will win an illusion and negotiates the win and I it just keeps going on and I think that's someone like Tommy Tommy Different Completely different character me. I'm enjoying boxing. At this point in time him but when I feel like a stand retire nor ten retire I will. We were joking about it. I was expecting Tomita shadows here today. I'll Albee hoppy when I sit down and do a Tko. Paul cost talking about my retirement. My career but Tommy's Amman wants to fake all the time and it was just m some fun not that I don't Wanna I love but I would enjoy. Enjoy the director. Yeah I think the thing is. I have a phenomenal business. I have a little business business of work harder and always been a believer that you console Dream Look like a nightmare. I'm health and wellbeing industry and out. How can I go out that promote health and wellbeing? If I've got my own and the way I fight he's no viable in the body the brain everybody knows aw. My eyesight is being affected. Douse the reason Jane more pulled me in the fire Jerry and I don't WanNA A. I considered the operation to fix vision. But that would be like you know in the Burn Hill and then Jim fire you and you know some day I don't want full live with this won't leave. I I really love it. I've hundreds of kids training gyms are WANNA stay in. I love it so I can Remain passionate by and do a good job of older kids that we work with when you mentioned about the either one nine the spring Simonis Mondays. Anthony go go. He was on the Undercard of Derry. Mathews if I'm right and he's been caught woefully short so early very very unfairly and I guess the one thing that when people look to you when this episode goes out in a in a couple of times that you have set the exit strategy up from. I'm a sport that so many tone we're gonNA hide featuring older Danny Williams this season at some point and sit down with him us into forties after an amazing career the sort of ended a decade and half ago and didn't perhaps because he didn't necessarily stop an exit strategy and didn't have maybe the education to realize that there are other things that you need to do off the boxing and I know that some of you were hard on we've been saying life off the boxing and you have to set it up early and Patchy think do I would take the base of Tommy and again I know where I'm at the stage of my career but my boxing at this point in time is capable of the time I'm not so I want to do and I think that I think in about the things that Tomlin's doing I want to replicate what he's doing in Belfast. And the thing that will give me something kept me out of bed in the morning and I wanna be people in the whole of Tommy and the people at the community level and the kids and their parents wants. He's doing such things. I would love to do that. And he got back with me to the Belfast. And Tommy of spoke about it and he's willing to help me and give me ideas ideas and stuff and Tommy's more business minded a May I January collaborate business. I don't have a plea but only learn can learn a bit from Tommy. The thing is I don't have a real clue about how business I'm visionary. I'm very very visual. And I've been very very fortunate. Now I've managed to get the right people on the spot on the point if people know while the boss government program. I've managed to get the right people on the books to help we achieve the division. And no it takes brains to one surround yourself with brains and I think that's where I've been smart. I realized it's a many years ago. Everybody has a shelf life and I knew I don't need I would say shelf life and I did starts applying for after after boxing because I made all wrong decisions. Growing good may or expelled from school from school. No Geez no real no real education. It's all really early and who's to say that I WANNA go engine Mama I would. I don't so I was mindful. The box rooms only gonna be for so long and I needed something want to stimulate my brain kiss. I don't think so probably from one. I put to something to to fall back on on family. Three children three boys a wife go to support them and box in for me as just been vehicle to go and do there's some great things in the community and some great things and my business at all about assume day and accounting. Those They Left Behind: The Victims of Roy Melanson

"His cabin they stopped at a gas station to put some air in the leaky tire and they had to buy some more beer because they're all out and it continued on their driver car jerked so the two men the shows with that day no surprise turned out to be Chuck Mathews in Roy Melanson so chuck gone out of the car underneath the chassis and so that Iraq had put a hole in the oil pan so michelle offered to give them in a ride in her car when they made it to town got to her car matthews got into the backseat with oak and Melanson wrote up front with Michelle Michelle drove them back to gunnison asmir thieves bonded with Oak Michelle Cherif Melanson yes it was late afternoon they arrived back at the Columbine Bar Matthews was really surprised though because then he overheard Melanson asked Michelle if she could drive him a few more blocks to where he left his truck now he hadn't even mentioned a truck Matthews Matthews didn't think he had a truck I mean if he had a truck why they've been riding around in his old terrible junker were to prove in itself untrustworthy in absolutely breaking down and leaking air and stuff that's terrible so that's a good question where we take in my old junker but he didn't say anything in Melanson told Matthews he'd be back in a while and rode off in the passenger seat of Michelle's car so matthew went into the bar but he was confused and he decided he'd wait for Melanson to come back and maybe he could give him a ride home in his truck but when Melanson and returned by nine pm matthews called a friend to pick him up and he thought that would be the last seat here this whole thing but the next morning Melanson Grove Michelle Wallace's Redman Asta station wagon to the JC penney storing gunnison and he wrote a fraudulent check to purchase a dress shirt and pants Georgia and Megan Wallace Michelle's parents were back in Chicago thinking that everything was Fine Michelle was alive and well and would be back soon they were really happy that she was going to working as a photographer in North Carolina but September second came and went without a call from Michelle and she promised Maggie that she would call her that day so Maggie called the sheriff in Gunnison to report Michelle Missing Ecorse it had only been a couple of days she was an adult so the dispatcher told her not to worry her daughter and probably just decided to camp for another day or two forgot to collar but Maggie knew better she knew Michelle and she insisted that Michelle would never do that so she persisted and she actually got the sheriff's Department to talk to her and to search scofield part so the next one warning the under sheriff went to Michelle's apartment and saw that she had never returned from her trip so they figure that Michelle could have had an accident the rugged country so the undersheriff co the crested Butte Police Department an SM to look for her car they call them back that evening saying there's no sign ever car. The Maggie's calling repeatedly she's just worried sick a massive search was started by the gunnison sheriff the crested butte police department and the Civil Air Patrol rose also many volunteers helping in the search also Michelle's remained gave the police Michelle's hairbrush I glass says to hold his evidence and this would pay off much later not right away because we're in nineteen seventy four technology and advancements in science in a long way to go through certainly did very minimal right right so it was on September six when Chuck Mathews heard about a missing girl on the radio and we heard the description of Michelle in her dog along with her last known whereabouts he knew that she was a young woman that he had met with Melanson on August thirtieth but of course all he knows about Melanson is his first name was Roy so matthews called the sheriff's department and gave them a description of Michelle of her dog and of her Red Mazda wagon the last time he had seen her was outside of the Columbine bar she drove away with a man who the only numerous Roy and this really sounded bad this made the case sound a lot worse were here it should have been less seen with a man she really didn't know right she just met no one knew who roy was or afraid even his real name then the next day ranch called the sheriff's Department to report that he had shot and killed a dog on September fourth in his dog matched oak description he'd get the thanks caller which had a tag with shells name on it and other people called until the sheriff that they'd seen the dog wandering around in the area since August thirty first again bad news because Michelle and oak had been inseparable yes she's missing in her dog is dead so it's really looking like foul play frakes but a fora was contacted after Chuck Matthews told the police that Roy had told him he had been killing coyotes for a sheep rancher in Scholefield Park Spatafora told them that he had employed Roy and he knew his last name it was worry Melanson regarded her name mill food yeah yeah but of course Melanson had left the area he had arrived in Pueblo and Michelle's Mazda on August thirty first and he had spent the night with sally the fourteen year old and got one of her sisters to drive him to where he had parked the Mazda he told her that a friend had left it there for him to us so at this point I really have to question Sally's mother Lucille Burdens judgment here what the Hell's going on it's almost like she's prostituting her daughter you know well he's kind of staying at their house it's very weird and I don't know where the father was I know he was working it didn't ever come home and see what's going on it's really strange disturbing situation that's an understatement for this time though Melanson seemed to be doing much better financially than the last time the Burton girls had seen him he had new clothes new camping equipment and a really nice camera now salad use the camp took a picture of Melanson laying on the couch behind one of her friends yes oh what's this man doing in the House with these teenage girls laying on the couch it's also creepy Dick I just don't understand it we don't have any information or any any reasons why her mother true things the way she do now I mean what I've read about the case there was always just the idea that he was such a smooth talker in so convincing but to me nobody's that convincing that you're going to let him hang around your fourteen year old weird hat royals yeah Melanson didn't stay in Pueblo very long on September eighth in Cedar Falls Iowa when he was there he joined Michelle's camera backpack and sleeping bag than in elk city Iowa he made a guy named Thurman Wilder in a bar and the two started talking while they're told him that he was a heavy equipment raider looking for a job and Melanson told him that he had a friend in Pueblo who owned a construction company and he was sure that his friend would hire wilder I think he was just trying to get a ride there I guess he was always trying to get something from someone he was with the conman are always still have was in his white Cadillac and when they got to Amarillo Texas Melanson duck the Mazda and he ended up writing the rest of the trip with wilder in the Cadillac Hitt told wilder that his car needed repairs and he was taking it to shop and they'd pick it up on the way back then on September twelfth an anonymous caller are reported a suspicious white cadillac that was hanging around a high school and the Cadillac was pulled over and Melanson said that he and Wilder just waiting to pick up Sally Burton at school which is pretty creepy right there your suit is but when Nelson's driver's license was checked the police discovered that he was wanted for rape and Texas so both Melanson and wilder were arrested and wilder gave permission for his car to be searched and the these funds several different items belonging to Michelle Wallace in the Cadillac these things included her car registration her driver's license insurance discard and also some of her camping equipment so there's no explanation that he's going to be able to give for that wouldn't appear to be so melanson was searched police found his unused best ticket from gunnison to Pueblo and found Semis two keys and two point tickets sleeping bag in a backpack then one of the offices remembered the beyond the lookout for a red monster station wagon on by Michelle while so let's solve this crime didn't we well no not really into which is a long way to go with that the Pueblo detectives are pretty sharp they contacted gunnison and learned about the search for Michelle the Amarillo police found Michelle's car it was abandoned one block from a bar recalled the hard hat lounge now the car was searched but nothing was found that would have indicated foul play so nothing they give us evidence and nothing that would help them and find Michelle of course they interviewed Melanson and he finally did admit to spending time with the Burton's and having a relationship with the teenage Sally but he denied that he'd ever had sex with sally you know they would just hanging around 'cause they had so much in common together you're just good friends sure I'll grown men have fourteen year old girl says their friends interviewed sally she told him that she hadn't Melanson in July your family's cabin and she said that she did actually have sex with him so restores here I'm thinking I'm going to bully sally absolutely he had traumatized her quite a bit and so isn't the statutory rape yes should be but you know you're gonNA find here that he really gets away with a lot for long time it's really frustrating after extensive interviews Melanson insisted on speaking to the FBI and eventually he said that he did remember Eating Michelle he said he had a drink with her in a bar and she had left her dog tied up outside then he said he'd made up an excuse to borrow her car and she had led him so he just taken off in her car and it never seen her again not very believable story no bishop since he had all her things on his position Russian was stopped that anyway we'll we'll take a story so investigators suspected Nelson in Michelle's disappearance so in three other Texas rapes and Texas murder and then the police in Louisiana also wanted to question mallets about a series of murders in their state great so it looks like he's just done a lot of crimes that he's gotten away with Chuck Mathews was brought in and he was able to identify Melanson as the man Michelle's car when he last saw them after that detectives were convinced that they had Michelle's killer but without a body the prosecutor wouldn't charge him with murder so they were kind of step yeah I mean I know this is forty five years ago so things are different because we've done some cases where they've prosecute you didn't prosecuted successfully people with nobody well it certainly can be done but you need a lot of other evidence where it sounds like they got your amount the first thing you know you have to be able to prove the person's dad that's the first obstacle where you have to be able to maybe not prove but beyond a shadow of doubt so did now same thing to me or care so searchers though they continue to look on the ground and from the for Michele Maggie and George Wallace her parents held out hope that Michelle would be found alive of course but a new about Melanson story and they knew it was a lie she wouldn't have loaned her car to a stranger but unfortunately no evidence was found that Michelle had been killed or like I said even that she was dead Maggie she'd never see her daughter again that started to set in and she fell into a really deep depression she was crying every day and people said she just looked totally lost six weeks after Michelle had disappeared the Colorado detectives asks for her dental
