"Just sliders looks good as ever. He's been able to throw it for strikes, his latest outing, he retired his first 7 hitters against the Yankees, struck out, I think, four of them. And turnbulls looked really good. I will be interested to see how is he hold up through a season? Can he make it two times around a lineup? Will his command continue to be reliable, but sometimes I wonder if Spencer Turnbull is not the best pitcher on this staff, even after Tommy John surgery. I wanted to ask about one of the few free agent additions from this winter Michael lorenzen. I sort of sympathize with Lorenzo because he's always trying to transcend his limitations or at least the limitations that have been opposed imposed upon him, right? He is in the room. If he's relieving, he wants to start, if he's pitching, he wants to hit, right? And he still is advocating for himself as a potential part time two way player. And you know, I think at most, on most rosters, we could probably close the book on Michael Renton's offensive career, but it's just the tigers we're talking about. It's not as if they're overflowing with offensive talent. So is he going to get his way at some point this year? Is there any chance? Yeah, that's really funny question and I definitely get Twitter comments all the time. Is Michael lorenzen actually the best, you know, the third best hitter on this team. And it's not the most outlandish question of all time. But AJ Hinch has been pretty clear. They signed him to be a pitcher. They want him to focus on pitching unless things get dire. I don't anticipate that changing. He is one of the guys Scott here has talked about a little bit of a calculated risk. The tigers are trying to identify some upside, some untapped potential lorenzen changed his approach at last September, and he altered his arm slot, and he had a lot of success last September with the angels. That's how your soap they can bring a little bit more out of out of him throughout a full season and maybe that includes just don't focus on hitting it all. And we'll see what happens. So they brought in him, they brought Matthew Boyd back. I think that one of the things that had always sort of marked my experience of the tigers over the last couple of years was, well, there are reinforcements coming, right? They had all of these great prospects. They had a highly ranked farm system. A lot of those guys are on the big league club now, so I don't want to knock the system for being less good just because they've graduated guys, which is what they're supposed to do, but who are the reinforcements for this team at the minor league level who we might see if Matthew Boyd recovery from injury doesn't go well if Michael lorenzen decides that he insists upon being a hit or full time or no playing time will be happy, who are the guys who are going to come and reinforce this team if the need arises. I think the state of the farm system is pretty interesting right now. Obviously it's falling pretty precipitously down rankings with guys like torque sending green graduated. There aren't necessarily the surefire stars in this system anymore, but I think we are slowly starting to see fruits of changes in player development that again happened two years ago even before there was a change at the general manager position. And I think there's more depth on the farm system. Maybe not those top guys, those sure fire, everyday players, but I think there's depth and I think we saw it last year on the pitching side with Wilmer Flores, who was an undrafted free agent in 2020 who had a terrific year was a futures game guy and double-A and could easily be able to pitch in the big leagues at some point this year on the position player side there's a longer list of names. Guys like Parker Meadows, Andre Lipschitz who have played really well this spring cult Keith looks like he might be the best young hitter in the entire system right now. And then the two guys most commonly ranked top two are Jackson jobe, a number three overall pick and Jason, that's how yours number 12 pick last year. I think that's kind of the small sampling of names to monitor. I already mentioned Brendon white, a lesser known guy who looks like he's going to pitch in the major leagues. Time Madden, you know, was a college started out of Texas who probably isn't far from the major leagues. I'm already mentioned Joey wins. Alex fierro, bobrisky, who aren't technically prospects anymore, but our young guys who might start in triple-A but could easily be back in big league starters. I think you can feel pretty good about the pitching depth. It's a matter of okay. Are any of these guys going to pop and become something a little more than number four number 5 or swing mins like pictures in the big leagues? Should ask a couple more questions about the offense, maybe third base specifically is projected to be a weak spot. The tigers are 29th on the fang graft step charts at third base and a couple of the candidates there. Tyler Nevin and Andy bunya are injured, so it seems like Nick maton is maybe getting the upper hand. Maybe tell us a little bit about the trade that brought Nick maton to Detroit and then tell us a little bit about meton and wolfie.

"Mariners farmhand. Exactly. Different Andrew Moore. I would not put it past Jerry to acquire the same person or trade away the same person multiple times. Your Senate has done that. Absolutely. But this is a different edamame. They also got Jake lamb from the Dodgers in a cash move on deadline day and they picked up Matthew Boyd and Kurt kasali from the Giants. Yeah, they're bringing they're bringing all the former northwest area amateurs back in. They're bringing back Boyd and lamb and now they just have to go sign Michael Kim Porto and they'll have completed the set. I guess he's a free agent, right? They're busy, Jerry. They also promoted this guy Jared kelme. Have you heard about him? Seems like a big addition potentially. You've seen his triple ace that's? All right. I don't think he was wearing that. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, everyone. Let's focus on where he's Castillo. Why don't we focus on the fact that thankfully it seems like Julio was going to be fine. I think that that is the bigger takeaway here, right? We will not be living the Travis jankowski lifestyle for terribly long, but right, yeah, so the Mariners have been a bit banged up on the AL not a long-term thing, but he did get hit by a pitch and so he's out for now and they've got a couple other guys who've been injured. But they got a big upgrade in Castile and it's really exactly what they needed. And so much like the Padres, I guess who have a rotation that is locked in not just for this year, but for next year too, with, well, in the Padres case, they have Darvish, they have Clevenger, they have Snell, they have musgrove. They have mania. They have all these guys right and I should also mention they got a prospect back for Hosmer, right? J groom. They did. Didn't mention that because they paid the money. Again, flexing their financial muscle. Yeah, they paid a deal down, but for the minimum, right? Yeah, and so the Mariners now have Castillo, who is under contract for next season right before he hits free agency. And then, of course, they have Robbie ray. They have George Kirby. They have Logan Gilbert. They have a lot of talent there. They have Chris flexing around and Marco consults. A lot they can put buoyed in the bullpen if and when he comes back. So Castillo, I hate the is he an aces he not an ace conversation. He's a really good pitcher. He's really good. He's a playoff caliber starter. I think is the way that I would think about him, which I think is probably also the way that the Mariners are thinking about him in terms of his impact. Yeah, he's probably the best pitcher on the team, right? I mean, Robbie ray was signed to be, but has not quite been it's Castillo or Gilbert and I think it's probably guessed you. Right, and so, you know, Castillo started the season on the IL with the shoulder issue, but since he came back from that, he's been really good. And he's basically what the Mariners needed, at least on the pitching side. And they paid a price for that. They gave up prospects. I mean, they pushed their chips in, much like the Padres did, and these are two teams that I don't know if you've noticed. I've never won a World Series, and in the Mariners case. I've never been to one. And can't recall the last time the Mariners spent the playoffs seems like it's been a while as well. So he's got jokes. When you're in position to make the playoffs as the Mariners are after the longest drought in North American professional sports, et cetera, et cetera you got to go for it and they started slow too and they have really turned it on until very recently and they're in pretty good wild card position and you've got to feel good about that team, which probably record wise isn't much different from where last year's team was, but the underlying numbers are much stronger and I think you just got to hand it to the Mariners for realizing that yeah that was a 91 team last year, but it wasn't really it was super clutch or fuki or however you want to put it and they didn't rest on their laurels and they knew there was going to be regression and so they went out and got guys. Many of whom were Cincinnati reds. Yeah. And they have just become a better team between that and between the internal promotions. They're just a pretty solid team now. So you gotta be excited. Mariners magic, Mariners mojo. It's happening. Yeah, I think they're like, you know, and they're gonna get Hannah back soon, and he will hopefully be okay, and it sounds like the long-term prognosis for Julio is fine, anti France was banged up a little bit, even though he didn't go on the IL. He didn't go on the aisle, right? Someone else went on, Dylan Moore went on the IO. They had a game in Houston where there were some very creative field and configurations going on because like, boy, were they were they stretched then because of injuries in a specific game. But yeah, they're in the exact right place on the wind curve to pay extra to get a good picture. This is exactly what they should be doing. And yes, they gave up. They gave up a haul. They gave up two top 100 guys to get Castillo and they gave up some interesting guys beyond that, right? But also the thing about it. Is that they haven't been to the playoffs in like, you know, it's gonna be like 21 years. Like their dog can their playoff drought can drink. It can also drive without supervision, hopefully not doing both of those things simultaneously. It's time I went on a Mariners podcast before the deadline. I think that they were expecting me to be very circumspect and like they should be conservative and they should do what surplus value tells them. And I am going to say now what I said then and I'm going to do a swear and a big one. I was like, let's go. Go get a guy who can help you. I wish that they had upgraded the bottom of their 40 man a little bit more than they did, right? You know, I think he had a run tonight against the Yankees, but like Sam haggerty is factoring prominently in the Mariners plans and Kellogg is not good. Man, it's tough because even if you just did like a minor league equivalency of his triple-A line this year could be an above average, big league batter. Yeah, but I know there's been some width there in there's been there's been there's been some with their. It's just starting. It's like yeah. He just might not be very good. The number of times we have gone back and forth on that keno deal is wild because now I'm sitting here like gosh, it would be really nice to have it. If they had to bail Cano's deal, but like just checking out like 24% of the time and triple-A and like, okay, but what? These. Anyway. I mean, if he could be even decent, that would be huge. It would be huge. Because they could really use that. They should have used another hitter, right? If anything, it's sort of surprising that maybe they didn't deal Kel Nick like if it's gotten to the point where he is a change of scenery. Any trade value?

A member of Washington's congressional delegation is with House speaker Nancy Pelosi on her trip to Asia. Susan del beni, Democrat from the first district released a statement about the trip, saying in part, American leadership in this growing part of the world is vital to our businesses, workers and consumers where more than half of all global economic growth is expected in the next 30 years. Democrat Adam Smith from Washington's 9th district is the chair of the House armed services committee and spoke to CNN about the speaker's trip and said, he's worried not just about Chinese rhetoric, but American rhetoric as well. We should stick with the strategic ambiguity policy of one China, two systems, nobody's in any rush to resolve that. So I do worry about the anti China rhetoric on our side. But again, the speaker merely visiting the island. Members of Congress, a lot of different government officials have visited Taiwan over the years. That should not significantly change the equation. Beijing considers the independently governed Taiwan as part of China. Pelosi warned that Taiwan is increasingly under threat accusing Beijing of dramatically intensifying tensions. We'll hear more about the speaker's trip to Taiwan coming up here at 6 35. Additional state resources are being called up for a fire threatening homes west of vantage in central Washington. Public information officer for the southeast Washington incident management team graced debut share, says the vantage highway fire has grown to more than 8000 acres with another day battling red flag fire conditions. It's just that the fire moving up those slopes to the north and is really moving quite quickly. Firefighters from all over the state are converging on the area to help. "Find someone else who can and backfill that space with something more productive than either what a projection system thinks or what they're getting. And I think you can absolutely have a ton of confidence in that happening and that's something that assistant like if it's not on the roster now or not allocated in our depth charts. It's just not necessarily going to see. And Kevin gausman is gone is Alex kubb or Matthew Boyd or someone going to be the next Kevin gausman? I mean, it's possible, I guess, but it's hard to have that kind of mid career reinvention or peaking every year, maybe they can keep that up. Who knows? All right, so that brings us to best rookie or most important rookie is Bart still eligible at this point. I guess I don't even know, but is there anyone else who's on the radar? Bart is still eligible. Yeah, I put Bart down, but if you're not going to go with I actually will say that my first answer was camilo Duval. Yeah. Yeah, that's an interesting one. He's not rookie eligible anymore though. I think he counts. The eligible. He's not rookie eligible. You can see he's going to be a breakout though, and then you get to squeeze them in. But yeah, no, I think it is Joey Bart. I mean, I think this lineup needs, I don't know. See, I feel dumb saying it like the lineup could use the power because like they were a tremendous lineup last year and returned many of the same guys. But at the same time, it's kind of kind of what I think. So I don't know. I think that's a defensible pick. I mean, he is going to be like, what he ends up being for them long term, I think we will get a sense of this year. And there are options behind that. I'm just going to be slagging on giant's catchers, but I don't think that kirkus alley gives anyone a warm and fuzzy. So I think that that's fair. The other name that kind of occurs to me here is like, you know, healey Ramos is down in triple-A and if they end up without field issues, you know, that's something that might end up mattering here. I'll let you, you can pick to fall. It's fine. There are a lot of ways to count prospect eligibility, Craig. I don't know if you know. Yeah, yeah, I am aware he does have fewer than 50 innings, which is one way to look at it. But no, I do think, I mean, there are bullpen look, they have Tyler Rogers and Jake McGee, both if we were capable of pitching up the back end of a bullpen. I think, but, you know, I think we saw what he what he meant to them towards the tail end of last season. And in the playoffs, and I know he gave up the hit to Cody Bellinger or whatever, but he was really, really, very good. And I think having someone that dynamic at the back end of their bullpen could be a difference maker for them, I mean, they just have so many options in that bullpen too. I also wrote down curving Castro who I think is really good and not I don't think going to break camp with the team. He's a top option, but I think he's another really work who's really, I'm just talking about relievers a lot, I guess. Hard to find a breakout candidate here because almost literally everyone on the roster broke out last year or the year before or ten years ago, depending on who you're talking about. Re broke out, yeah. I don't know. Steven Duggar who's left, who's totally broken out. Possible. I said Alex Cobb. Yeah. I mean, you could argue he broke out last year after 5 years of strikeout percentages in the mid teens. He struck out 25% of batteries last year without meaningfully increasing his wealth rate from 2020. I am excited to see what the Giants pitching and development staff does with someone who posted a two 9 two for the angels. I know it was only 93 onions, but like, I don't know. I mean, the angels are famous for breaking pictures, and he was actually pretty good for them. I'm curious what he'll do, what he'll do with the Giants. I think he is up. I think there's an opportunity that people will catch up to how he was actually pretty good last year when he was when he was pitching. Can we say, given that we know that people take a year to adjust to really good performances, can we say that Logan Webb can break out further than he has already? Yeah, I think he can break out in terms of being famous or at least looking like Jesse punishment. Yeah. For those guys, you know? Yeah. I mean, Webb was great last year, obviously, during the rigorous season and in the playoffs, but he is now being mentioned on very short lists that I've seen of best pictures and baseball at this point. So people are totally buying in. I mean, he was good. All year long to some extent, but I guess the way he ended the season makes people buy in even more on this is a Cy Young candidate now. People love sinker guys. Yeah, I think he's, I don't know exactly where I'd put him in a ranking and I don't know if like top ten or whatever is to too hasty. "Kuebler had been the two guys that i'd probably be the darlings of our podcast all season long. And i'm gonna go back to the well with casey mayes I think this is more of a fade of the race. Starting pitcher for me He is one one on the road. Six point nine two eight twenty. Six innings pitched twenty eight hits allowed. Twenty earned runs Over that span on the road and over his last six starts. He's allowed at least two runs in five of the six games in the first five inning so if the tigers are able to get to them get to him early. I think my should be able to pitch well enough against the raise To get this across the board in five innings the full game. So meanwhile like i say casey mayes he has pretty good numbers. I had home just a win time and translated for him three and four but he has a three point seven one era. He's been in good form over his last three starts. Fourteen innings pitched eight hates allowed in only three runs given up in that span so We'll take the tigers. I five money line as my dog of the weekend so just to recap that is going to be the giant run line on saturday and then my dog. Saturday also tigers i five innings money line versus the race accident. Yeah like the goal is when you have to find another angolan and because he will be chosen so the The road line is exactly the right to do as much as louis patino detroit. Detroit feel like being one of the greatest value james. All season is even though the were expected to be relatively poor. They haven't been okay cable. "Looks good regularly enough. That i'm like. I can't really cut him. I'm not putting austin meadows on the wire but then you look what he's been doing. I mean he had a brilliant month in may where he hit eight homers. He has ten cents which ten in in three months is not awful. That it's not what you thought you were given from austin donna. That's what i'm saying. That's saying it's a twenty homer pays if you're loosely. Take the six months but to thirty eight to fifty three two. Oh two are the batting. Averages he isn't running. He has a steel in each of the june july and august. What are we doing with us. And his season number still look pretty solid at a one nineteen opiates. Ps boston twenty two homers. But does he have to start hitting the chopping block in some of the shell or leagues. Yeah i'm surprised. He's playing as much as he is is has been pretty ugly. It's it's been rob. He's one of the guys that they've shown that they have a pretty good amount of belief in with meadows but is put tuned is kind of getting the heavy platoon right now. Where it's like. He gets the start against righties but against lefties. It's a no go for for meadows. And i mean. He has a stark petunias. Your eight ninety five against these five twenty seven against lefties. So i think you kind of if you're considering cutting and what you need to do is look at the schedule and see what sort of righties they have in the immediate future for the raise and then that will help you decide. Because i don't think he's like an auto cut but he is somebody that could be on the chopping block intens and twelve. I think in fifteenth. i'm still holding. I'm looking for their week next week. They open with two lefties. So if you play like nfc style. That first period. And you're wondering. Do i stick with him. Great through the first four months had one month but even hit three homers in that june. That was that was off. But he's been rough since august. First one homer five fifty four oprah's just four ribs foof and his tough in one hundred one plate appearances. You can put part of that on baltimore. But i guarantee you their simister. Rbi opportunities there. That manzini didn't cash in on the in. Just say oh that's baltimore. Baltimore is manzini. Somebody who has to find the wire at this point in and if so what what league types. Yeah i think he does. I mean one home. Run in the second half isn't going to do it for especially when he said in two twenty five And i think the most concerning part about it is his played approach. I mean he's got a three percent walk rate in the second half I just i swing outside zone. Thirty five percents time guides. Don't see much here that's gonna turn things around necessarily for him.

At least we get to kind of see it tonight against a Poor opponent but that's the thing you don't wanna put too much stock into that and have them get beat up by angels as houston whomever faces in the division type of deal. The mets atlanta pittsburgh miami colorado home miami cincinnati if he doesn't get shut down the latter half of that schedules really hot. Yeah and i mean. I don't know why they would shut them now. I don't think he's somebody that is automatically a home run machine in the minors in one hundred ninety eight innings. He had a point three homer nine. He was not a homer guy before. So this is kind of a new thing for gray and I think he can overcome it. And be and just be a monster like i chose. I agree so. I'm i'm glad that that that i was able to get you to move them up there. If you could ballpark it get not going to hold you to a number on twenty twenty two ranking.

"Dia level what kind of ends are we expecting this weekend on cabrera. I would expect able to drop thirty to fifty percent of the remaining. Yeah i think it's going to be substantial it's hard to attack a exact dollar value because budgets are so varied. But if you're willing to go more than fifty percent of my remaining fab. If if if i'm in need of a starter yup yup i think i would too because i mean. The marlins have really built some credibility with regards to pitcher development He looked so sharp in that. First outing i don't think they'll all be perfectly smooth sailing But i think the bulk of these remaining stars she should get about five The rest of the way should be pretty nice. We're cabrera. I was impressed. I was really really impressed. A couple of guys coming back. Who also may be on your waiver wires to make sure you're checking matthew boy do back sunday. Are you going to go. Look for him on your waiver wires this week. He's been out for quite a while. But you might not remember us. Having a hell of a season. Three forty four era. One you know tigers might have had a real asset to trade Had he been healthy was unfortunate that he got hurt. You know just for for himself to not just because the tigers couldn't trade him but he was having quite a season he and really curb those homers for the first time ever and it was impressive to see it came at the expense of some strikeouts but i think the trade off was worth it. Matthew boyd was looking really nice are you gonna go scoop them on some wires where available this weekend ya I'm hoping to interested to see one out. Dp goes into the game on sunday. I obviously i. Well he pitches will determine like what people are willing to pay for him. Mica says he's not gonna go five he hasn't gone five yet in any of his rehab starts. He went to three than four and a third Clearly you're trying to build them up but he's been very impressive of no earned runs and no walks in any of these rehab starts. It's pretty efficient. I'm gonna say he could go five. Then if he's pitching to that level efficiency. I don't have to be that efficient though. Because he had fifty six pitches in that last one you figure they might push it up to about seventy. So he's going to have to get through five. In about seventy pitches. I would think. But otherwise i i. I think you might be right. It might come just shy there if it's four and a third four two two-thirds but I think boy. Somebody definitely wanna go out and check particularly if you're going for edward cabrera and somebody goes crazy for the shiny new toy. Use whooping and matt boyd Almost certainly cheaper right. Yeah and i think i would put more money on boy it so i'd still be willing to go fifty plus percent of my remaining sabah on boyd. If he's if he's the guy. I think the difference maker. I'm not necessarily I mean maybe in a fifteen league of desperate he's probably the third option to void in cabrera. And and maybe someone else is available on my wire like an allies hernandez or something like that. Probably probably just going to avoid kluber is not look good in these rehab starts So i'm you know. Including he's allowed seven walks in these eight innings soon. Hit three batters he. So yeah you had. Its underlying skills like that that i care more about than like the runs young now. I'm not as worried about like he's given up ten earned runs in these Eight innings. I don't really care as much about that. As like he clearly does not wanna know where the ball is yeah. It's like it's not great. So yeah i'm with you. He's coomer third for me among these three and maybe even deeper depending on what's available on a wire still have a you know a token mid on him just in case but That's not. I'm not hoping to necessarily come away with kluber right now because It could be. It could be some bumps in the road before he's even kind of back and ac- viable in. I mean horde of the reason you go get a guy like kluber is because he's on such a good team increases his ability to win games but if he's not gonna be going deep enough and he needs coming as the follower Like he's not gonna be winning any gains. What about making out start. What about picking up heaney as as the Piggyback where where. Available that interest. You know it inherently interested because he love heaney but but how viable is he for to to four ending guy in the middle of the games i mean. I think he's viable especially in your leagues where you have starts limits. Though they're going to be people coming up against start limits here pretty quick You're looking for a way that maybe try to sneak. Some wins without going over your starts teeny is a guy that becomes a little bit more interesting but amid it's also injured any so it's a lot of potential to get crushed You know i mean. The angels aren't necessarily good team but they have some pretty good offensive players on that team So that's a that's a scary. I start of era follow the week. No doubt no doubt you can definitely see yourself getting run out by them pretty quickly and he knows all too well. That's his former team so he knows that his teammates can hit Besides be careful with both kluber and andrew. Heaney prioritize boyd and cabrera this weekend where applicable. Let's put a guys in focus. And as i mentioned these studs so really focused on twenty twenty. Because obviously they're automatic starts first guy stowing martavis. He's just having this insane. Speed burst with oakland yet. Eighteen stolen bases with them. Justin just with them. Yes in twenty five games. He is eighteen for eighteen with two homers. "Do one and a half million this year so if you had him at the deadline you're looking at about half of that. The orioles are not contending. They were just put him in as a stopgap at the shortstop position so as long as he stays healthy i think he gets moved to a contending team here. And he could be a nice upgrade for somebody out there for the marlins potentially starling. Marta could be on the market. The marlins traded for him not too long ago. But with them being out of contention right now in the national league east could they look to move him for a potential piece. I think so. Y'all have corey dickerson. That could be on the move for the marlins as well. They have a lot of depth down the outfield a lot of kids. Who are knocking on the door for miami and again if they're not gonna offer marseille or dickerson. Qualifying offer specifically marta. I don't want to lose him for nothing this offseason and it'll be interesting to see what kind of package they could get back. And if it'll be equivalent to the one. They gave up for him just a couple of years ago. Kole calhoun of the diamondbacks as well. Yes he's still on the injured list after undergoing hamstring surgery but he could be back here before the trade deadline. He was off to a nice start this year hitting two ninety two. He's got a track record established of being an above average bat. He's also a solid defender out there and right field. He's earned an eight million dollars this year. He has a nine million dollar club option for next year that has a two million dollar buyout so effectively a seven million dollar decision for teams looking at next year and of course for calhoun. The big thing is going to be proving that he is healthy. But if he is indeed healthy is time with the angels now at the diamondbacks. He's showing he can hit and he would be a nice outfield edition as well. So a lot of these outfielders that could be available. All comes down to price. What are we going to have to pay to give up for these guys. Do you go from michael taylor. Cheap robbie grossman kind of that next year. Or do you go for coco. Probably the best of the bunch but again going to cost you the most when it comes to potential prospect return jacob stallings of the pirates. I mean again. He's not a catcher right. So catchers don't usually get moved at the trade deadline but he's been averaged defensively this far you know so far. He's sitting in two sixteen. He's a career to fifty six hitter. He's only making one point. Three million dollar option is controllable through arbitration through twenty twenty four catching position obviously has a put on defense and he's above average defensively behind the dish so teams out there again. This position is probably one of the most needy across major league baseball. Which is why you have guys who are hitting two twenty to forty getting paid top dollar because if you can call a game you can manage a pitching staff. You can frame pitches you can get calls for your guys on the mound. You're definitely somebody teams are going to go after here and this could be a move the pirates. Really look for if they're going total rebuilt again if they hold onto him. It's just due to team control. But if he's not part of that next window you think of when you're going to compete out there and pittsburgh he could potentially be moved next grammarian marquee the rockies again gray and story look to be locked in marquees kind of on the bubble yeah. He's twenty six years old. He's under contract through twenty twenty three with a club option for twenty twenty four. So i mean it's tough right. He's got a four four seventy ra. But if you pull out one of his. Most recent starts where he gave up eight runs in one inning. It's at three point two eight so he's got good stuff on the mount ground ball rate of about fifty percent. I think he could potentially be moved to again. If you're the rockies going full rebuild is marquee really going to be there in the next two years when you guys are back to contention. I think this is a three to five year rebuild. So of course you want to sell high. And if you don't think you're going to get your best return maybe hold onto marquee kind of like matthew boyd their detroit but if he has a good stretch over the next couple of weeks you could strike while the iron hot and ultimately move on from him. Spencer turned bill for the tigers potentially on the markets. I think this one's a little bit far fetched but over his past two hundred innings. He's got a four to two era and he's really been performing well this year. So if you're the tigers and you're looking at this with a no hitter on the resume do you sell high on turn bill. Is he going to regress back to the mean and back to his average. And kinda like boyd. Hey if you don't trade him now you're not gonna get anything for him in the future so this could certainly be one of those sell high situations there in detroit but ultimately i think the hang onto him just because of the upside. He's shown so far this season next on the list. I got some orioles again. We talked about freddy garcia. But john means left handed pitcher. He's currently on the injured list.
