"What would you ask yourself that. I get Maybe like what my mindset. I guess into wanting to do this. Eight or something like that Also so before real estate some you know nelson college. I was do some. I guess under the table job right. Lacasse jobs architects their legal legal. Though so i would be vandy and i would be in the stadium. Selling popcorn eliminates like that and all of that was also very commission based Whatever you sold it was We give percentage of it so that kind of switch my mindset from you know the harder you work the more you know revenue yoga or money you so you're not cap on how much money you can make at that point. So it's When switch. Like noah white. Why do i wanna the cap. This no management job. When i can control my my future really so that's pretty much how i guess you could say. Kind of switch is not for everybody. It really is not for everybody but Just have to find it. Now that's cool. I love that So much popcorn at a football game but there's no the stats in fresno but you know thousands upon thousands of homes your opportunity to make some money So like you said you kinda you're not capped at how much money you make whereas if you had a nine to five job they're only going to pay you so much money. There's only so much money in the budget for a manager or marketing person Or whenever your job. It's at that company so that's a huge mindset. I love that. That's a good point to make and especially that it's not for everyone like you have to. You have to work hard and you have to be really focused on your goal and remember why you're doing things. Yeah there's times where it gets tough and up to go back to. Why are you doing it and I mean there's people that struggle nine to five jobs you know and it's just have to find what you like. Go for sir so if you had one piece of advice to give someone like just in life in general it doesn't have to be career related They can just be. You know life goals. What would that one piece of advice me. I guess going back to against the motto rise. Just everything was gonna be On the other side of hard right. If you wanna be successful is not gonna come easy. It is easy You know it's not gonna be nice. I guess so. It's just You know working towards something Things the aurora. i mean. it's not a bad thing right. It just means that it's being more life license when you come with it. I mean. I'm a strong believer of everything. Happens for a reason Super cliche. But but i mean. I i believe in it. You know so it's You know as long as you. You're you're motivated you going and i'm sure you'll you'll get to the point where you wanna be so now i love that and that's honestly what am i like things is everything happens for a reason and like you said as cliche as it is like you just never know if you know going back to real estate like oh. You didn't get this house that you thought was perfect for you but you found this other house and it was either more cost effective in a better neighborhood. It worked out better for whatever reason like everything just happened. Supposed to happen for you And you know it's never the end of the world like things can change and you can a- work to change those things as well right now. You can only worry about things that are new control right. You're not they're not even controlling was the worry about you. Know yeah exactly i so. Where can people connect with you. I'm on facebook. I'm assuming you have facebook and graham. What's her name handle. Use my name at dessel. instagram authur mata and my facebook a medium. My first last name or business pages. "Us when when it's a little less crazy So you just have to think about it positive. Positively main mean. That's that's all you can do right. Yep that's for sure so So we'll get out of the kind of negative part of real estate. And and what's what's your favorite part about being a realtor I mean i like a lot of derisory. One of the main things i really like is i mean people say oh you make your own schedule so It's not exactly that but being able to move things around to make it work right so not being stuck at are like nine to five being able to grab lunch with with some friends during the day. You have to or stuff like that love during that Of course i did to spend a lot of exchange lives relief. I like helping people and I feel like you feel value refill value right so it's I don't know like. I like helping people. So it's very rewarding governor shirt for me. It was like getting to connect with old people so not old people but people have for a while. So i went to school or college with like you know. I'm posting on my instagram or facebook. About real estate all the time and then they come around because they already know being but it's been like ten years since we've talked so kind of like you build that friendship again. And one of the the most personal and like biggest transactions of their life with so just like automatically lifelong friends after that donor. Meeting for me too. I mean you get to you. Kind of connected. Different lead at that point People that maybe he just knew Talk too many Too much time in high school or other times in your life. Nobody went to this. Select very emotional Process so young So yeah for sure. It's like an obviously sometimes. It's just like all right. We're family now. I'm coming over here birthday. And like i'll be there christmas time and all that So it's really cool. I think that's one of the best parts connecting with people with all that being said there are some people. I i never wanna talk to. Here's your house or we sold your health like i'm good. Yeah definitely those so if you could go back to like day wine just got your license. Is there anything you would tell yourself or do differently One of the main things. I talked to a lot of new agents. Also they ask me something like this and i was telling him just always be looking for new business. Even if you know you're you know have several scrolls by now in. You'll things are great once they closed. You're not you're not gonna have much so you wanna make sure you have. Things make time for follow ups or phone calls and doesn't connecting with people You know the more people you talked to the more Possibilities there are so it's just a matter of keeping consistenly We'll discuss Talking to people. Because i mean i mean there was a point where i learned the hard way right was a point where things are great I don't have to worry about the future but once these closed oh crap i don't have you gotta start looking all over again. I mean the thing about this. Business is The working put in today. You won't see until maybe three or four months later. So is just a matter of being consistent and making those phone calls and connected with people. Yeah for sure I think that's the biggest part is. I've done it to like where i had like. Three deals going at one time and like all right. I don't gotta worry about it. I don't have to go look for new clients. It's all going to be cool. And then once those three deals close. I have nothing because i stopped like trying to finding people or stop trying to work with new people and like you said it's three four months sometimes even longer process so now i'm sitting here with six months with no incumbents. Yeah exactly and it at that point. What did i spend money on on these shoes or know that feeling Do you think this is a lifelong career for you. Do you enjoy it enough to where you're gonna do it the rest of your life. Do you have different aspirations. Yeah i mean. I really enjoy being released agent. I love helping people. So i see a the you know. Yeah i see myself doing it for the long feature. I mean it's it's a hustle. Because because you know you're out showing home than you're looking for new clients. And so i don't know how how long so But i do see myself doing it for a long time and Eats meat allowed nice people in the a lot of the clients that you get right now. They beat them right. They send you referrals so at that point. Maybe you don't have to be By code calling or things like that as much and you get transferred over two discs focusing nor the people that you know already so right you know. It's just a matter of time louisville. Yeah yeah that's cool so for you know a lot of people. We have like the inner driving force like something. That centers us Just what what keeps you going so my family will my parents again. They're immigrants so they came from mexico. And so i saw how hard they worked. And i realize i'm able to be successful in what they wanna do. Coming from a different country White what can i is like. it's Don't become successful like a shame. Do instant embarrassment really. It's like i did on this and so it's just like motivating Family my life now. So it's just a mess one of the main things that keep me like moving. I wanna make sure to said example for. I guess my kids in the future so yeah for sure So earlier we talked a little bit about you know how emotional it is. And how even outside of real estate you know. There's all kinds of crazy things that happen in life or even great things you know celebrations that you want to do so for you. Who's your biggest supporter. Let's say you know my wife and my my family really Like i said there was times where it wasn't as as smooth rabbit was a starting off. There was a few months where i didn't have Like deals going on or going to school as well so You know as a college today. i'm sure you know it's it's not easy money paying bills sometimes and so You know on top of that not having that income. I mean monthly so Yeah i mean just They will support me in me in and just kinda motivating me and so for sure.

"Position at a corporate office or something And when i got my license My family was pushing a year. My license insults thinking like everybody else. Right maybe do part time or something And so when my last year. So i was interviewing not trying to get something as another finished college and i couldn't couldn't get a job for some reason so i said you know. Let me try doing this. Real estate thing. Because i mean during school last semester. I was getting some deals. You know so i was busy with school have transaction coordinator at the time. So you know working on my files working on small were so adamant has full and so i was. At that time i was leaving. My my parents still saw was thinking. Let me try to do this for a few months. bills if it rolls in grave not than looking for a job right but but i mean i'm not saying i'm worthy plan where i wants to be but i mean pays the bills at this point. Yeah it's it's interestingly for me. I definitely didn't plan on getting into real estate. it just kind of fell into my lap. I bought a house Twenty and it's like this is easy. I could do that and make whatever the house at the time. Prices were much lower. So i was making two grain to health but still you know two thousand dollars for a guy. That's twenty years old bike. That was a lot of money. A lot but Yeah initially i had a lot of success. I had a lot of just family friends that happened to be buying or selling. And then once that kinda dry up in the referrals straight up. I was like okay. What do i do now like. It's a lot of work people faint. Like oh you just show up and you open. The health people are gonna make an offer. And that's the one they get So ends up being a lot of work. But i think it's rewarding career. You get to meet a lot of people And for me being a real estate agent It was yeah it was just the people was getting to go around and learning about different neighborhoods and especially the older homes. You learn about The history of them and just really things. So it's fun. It's a lot of work and But it superfund so for me. That's the biggest misconception about real estate is people think it's easy You just show up and make a lot of money you think. The biggest misconception is for you and it might be the same thing i mean. That's one of the main things that you know people think right it's like you're real estate license automatically think you're a lot of money is not like that you have another common. One guest is Easy work right so people just thinking open houses and you didn't ask role in just deliver some keys but at the same time they don't see weapons in the background right so Or how you how you got to the point to where they were ready. So i mean it's just. That's the main misconception. Begin is just easy and it's a lot of money you know if you're not working right yup for sure so i think people don't realize like if you're not closing houses you don't get paid you don't have like you don't have a guaranteed salary like you don't make whatever four grand a month no matter what like you're putting in or can you're not selling houses like that's it. You don't have any money. I think like you said kind of that background stuff. People don't realize like there's a lot that goes into while even before like making offers when houses getting people ready to buy a house and getting pre approved and sometimes people's credit isn't ready or they need to pay down a credit card bill by like fifty bucks. I know that's happened to me before it got them with My lender get pre approved in there like all right. If you make fifty dollars payment on this credit card like that's it you'll be ready to go and so little things like that. That people have no idea but then even when you go out making offers like a lot of people. I don't know what your record is. But i've probably shown like one couple probably twenty houses and probably wrote an offer around ten of them Before one was accepted out of real estate for probably about two years actively practice But what's the market like right now. I know it's just crazy right like offers so beginning of this year to tony one. It was the craziest i've ever seen. I mean i've only been in business like a little bit over three years but it's like ask people have been in the business for ten years and they're like. I've never seen anything like this. So homes that you know they're priced fairly and then they claim you at least see at least like twenty five offers at least right so I think once school started you. Don't see as many offers the right. Now you're lucky to gilbert ten so people liking sense march where i felt a little better writing these offers instead of writing offer knowing that is most likely not going to be accepted. Now have little hope in a time. Where i had a lot of buyers because i mean a lot of people wanted to buy homes but the homes. They don't want them so it was just. It was tough just being back I don't know that they're pissed. I guess you know. Megan sugar not discouraged because at the end of the day i mean they want something in. It's just a thing. Nothing comes easy. I am so as long as they're ready. Then i'm worried i'm willing willing to work for them. I think you hit on something. Like huge there with the therapy like not to knock therapists like at all. I mean i know they go to school and they actual practice and everything but it really gets emotional and you're walking people through like yeah. I know we ate offers and none of them were. You looked at For a second like it just got thrown into the reject and And so you're going through with people and trying to keep them encouraged and maybe even yourself like you said you're like oh i know this isn't getting accepted but trying to keep your buyers encouraged With like hey let's just keep going. We're going to get one eventually you'll love it. It's just a huge emotional roller coaster so i think that's probably another misconception. Is like with it being easy and like you just get along with your buyers and it's cool and everyone's happy You get people that are mad at you because they're offers not being accepted. It's like what are you doing wrong. And it's it's no one's fault like there's just different ways that offers get accepted and just the way it is. I mean it's there's times where it could be mentally draining where you know you feel. You're working really really hard and Falling in place. So even. When you're being i guess that therapist your buyers have to step back in thinking the bigger picture and say dental therapist yourself you know. Think about like you know. It's not your fault in not in our hands release. Oh it's just a matter of making sure that you know this. This attended days. All of this is gonna prepare.

He's also be this morning house rough on my out probably thirty three thirty four in fact he's thirty one so he's got a lot of career still left ahead of him but it's been a curious career isn't it because you know he's one these these big mountain stages in prestigious races toward france The he's wanting to well before has have twenty seventeen loss. Win in fact was Stage in the two thousand seventeen welter. Will they go in. And the to polka-dot jerseys in the front. I was just thinking who he reminds me of the style of victory. The style of writing. He sort of reminds me of a richard for on there. I say in the last half of his career you know still thought of as one of the elite climate actually be his victories They usually came as a result of extremely long breakaways and very aggressive riding but in a sort of context removed from the battle and removed from the best climbers in the bunch. Juki out on the final climb. When he was away it was he and i really just brought back memories of the thousand fifteen well to which of course one. That was my big breakthrough wasn't it. Could he finished on the podium in welter and as you say donyo though. The the patent of mike grandeur stage wins has been only source of mountain stages where the breaks go and the the by toe to some extent is thought to neutralize remember. He won a couple of stages in two thousand fourteen in a similar fashion and one in appearance in twenty fifteen in the tour de frantz. So this was kind of fertile ground from ikea and it was. It was very impressive to you. Know there was some horsepower in that break out for the third state. Michael store was in that but he didn't really look in market. Took it by the scruff of the neck and really made the made the win. Happen the tweet the tweet line. Oh it was. But then i asked him about yesterday and whether primavera glitches reluctance to attack may maybe an indication that he was just trying to save himself for the last week and that in fact he had plenty under the hood. We'll hear jack haig said now and then we'll get a second opinion this morning. I got a second opinion for gum. "Hello everybody welcome to another episode of checking in with michelle williams. This guests that we have He is a returning guest. The episode that we did was so fire that people requested him to come back and they were a little upset that i left them hanging so listen. Dr dairy is daniel's yep you guessed it that's who it is. Dr dairy is daniels pastor a cultural architect and a trendsetter for his generation. He's the author of several books. Including the author of relational intelligent. Please welcome back to my podcast. Dr dairies daniels was michelle up their body. Listen as you heard me. Say that The podcast that we did was incredible. I don't know if you've seen a few the instagram stories. People keep going back to dr areas daniels episode. And i'm like i did have other guys. Don't be making them feel like they. Podcast was boo boo. But this was incredible. Even to the point of producer. Saying we've got to get you back so thank you for coming back. I told you before you an incredible interview. You need a talk show and a podcast and everything else in between it's it's It amazed great connecting and You know i love what you're doing is a great podcast is necessary. It's relevant. I'm glad to be apart. Thank you and what you're doing is absolutely phenomenal. I definitely said that. He is a passer. But he is almost unlike any pastor that i know he's corporate but can get cherchi. He talks about relational intelligence from a romantic standpoint. In even for business and just other personal relationships he is multidimensional. You are so needed. And let latino you okay. So listen i just need you to accept it. You are the bomb dot com. It's okay is no. It's not being arrogant. You put the work in to be who you are. So that occurs receipts ladies and gentlemen. He has receipts. He has received google on a man a man. Now for those of y'all who didn't get to catch our first podcast dr daniels. Please tell us what relational intelligence is and how that works for a romantic relationship. While this is what i'm going to say are one. I'm going to say relational intelligence. While i give description of first thing gonna say is this is a life. Skill like relational intelligence isn't about doing relationships. Well relational intelligence is about doing life will. So here's mata y- it's hard. Now watch this. You can have a high standard of living. What are relational intelligence was emmy. You can get money. You can accomplish things professionally. You can acquire things materialistically so you can get clothes cars cribs and not be good relationships. You can have a high standard of living with our relational tells. You can't have what relational villages is. You can't have a high quality of life is a standard of living and quality of life is not the same thing so i want to listeners. To get attitude is really important now. Of course your standard of living affects your quality of life but young you can have the most. I don't know a whole lot about this but you can have whatever the top mattress is. Whatever the thread of the sheets. Are you have all of that in the crib and and not be able to get any sleek rolls out of bad. You got the standard of living the type of sleep you get asked the quality of life and so it's a life skill minister ability to just define align your relationships it best to have quality of life for the standard of living of quality of life. Okay s good quality of life. One hundred one hundred percent one hundred percent Like i mean. I know this is kind of your wheelhouse but even when you look at people who might be dealing with mental health challenges that situation all right so not not necessarily something. That is a part of their mental makeup or whatever but some situation and brought some things about you'll be amazed to see how many people like fall. A high income categories that the of with a lot of that and so the point that i'm making is. I'm not saying we should be poor. Like i'm not having gable poverty. But i am saying well relational is about. It's about it's about quality of life. Because i'm telling you your greatest is not just gonna come from the things you get is gonna come from the people you wit and you talk romance. We talking romantically. I think people underestimate this man. I really do yeah. That was my seat. Scooting bag bed did not come out of me by the way so if you all heard something romantically the super important right and i'm not the kind of person that says everybody needs to be in a relationship so all. I don't believe that my faith doesn't teach that some people might they teach that but i don't think that's consistent with with the fatal. Everybody have to be in our relationship. But i just feel like you need relational intelligence for romantic relationships just because you wanna keep putting your heart through. Chronic heartbreak stress pain unnecessarily like most of us. A Big Dose Of Perspective With Jack Kornfield

"Jack. Great to see you and thank you for coming Great pleasure thank you. Dan also for having me. It's time when we. I think we need to all come together and use our best wisdom and understanding of how to navigate. I completely agree and so let me. Just start with your mind. What are you doing to stay even in your own mind. Of course i meditate some but more importantly arrested in place that has a lot of spaciousness in it and a kind of trust. I'm old enough at age. Seventy five to have seen revolutions. Common go and difficulties arise in pass. Have and i also see that. There's i guess it was martin. Luther king talked about the moral arc of the universe being long but advance toward justice. I see that there's ways that systems also regulate themselves so whether it's the pandemic that we are in the throes of that is really causing enormous amount of suffering and loss whether it's the political disruptions in the capital and otherwise were just the calls for racial and economic justice that we needed for so long. I feel we're in a evolutionary process with its fits and starts. And i think about people like one gary mata who won the nobel prize for the greenbelt in east africa. She started by planning one to ten. Twenty fifty trees got other people to do. It eventually was thrown in prison on. I think that's a requirement for nobel peace laureates mostly And ended up planning fifty one million trees in changing a lot of the face to be africa or or or ellen sirleaf in manga bowie also nobel prize winners who said their country. Liberia used to be known for its child. Soldiers in had these terrible civil wars and now it's known for its women leaders and so there is some way in which just as the green sprouts come up through the cement in the sidewalk. There's something about life in. it's also the human heart that wants to renew itself. And so i rest back in kind and loving awareness to say yes. Let me turn my gaze away from the from the needs suffering the things to respond but also to hold it in a much bigger context justice. I agree that universe in the world is breathing. And that's how i keep my mind on a good day not the mean. There are bad days a bad moments but mostly my heart is pretty peaceful but you know there are things. I get a call from my daughter. Dad you know. This terrible thing is happening. At the nonprofit she runs for getting asylum for all people whose lives are endangered. What do i do our calls from dear friends. Oh my family has covid. So i'm deeply touched by these things and responding. Sometimes they really affect me. And i can feel the pain of it. You know or give worried but with all of that. There's a rounded a field of loving awareness of spaciousness entrust. That gives a much bigger picture and there. I'm just going on back away trying to answer your question and also spread out a little bit. When i was a monk training in the forest monasteries in southeast asia as a buddhist monk the main forest temple i lived was in a province adjoining. Both laos in cambodia was during the war in vietnam and laos cambodia. So we would see fighter jets going overhead and bombers and you know in some of the branch monasteries you could even see flashes from the from the bombs and people would come visit us. I had friends who were working in. Vietnam laos people that i knew as i had been working on medical teams in that ray calm river valley saying what are you doing sitting on your you know. There's a war to stop. There's things we need to do and my teacher would say. This is the place where we stop the war.

JRPG Report Episode 144 - The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Black First Details - burst 02

"Hello friends welcome back to the show. This is the g. rpg. Report episode one hundred and forty five little bit weird this week and we knew it was going to be with christmas eve falling on our normal release date and of course christmas the next day and there must situation My little girl's birthday being the day after christmas so yeah we get a bang bang. Bang three a craziness there. Obviously just mitt that there was really no time to reporter Record a podcast. Even before christmas was just too hectic so We're recording this on saturday. The twenty seventh just a couple days left in twenty twenty. Goodbye rents But we've got a lot of cool things to talk about today. I kinda wanna wrap up all the stuff that we've missed as it's been nine days since our last pockets. No i'm sorry that's not even right. That is fuzzy. Math is been eleven days since our last podcast. So we've got a few things to go over That have popped off. Since then. And i wanna kinda look look forward to sometime this week. Mean jordan are going to get together and kind of talk about What games we really loud from. Twenty twenty maybe even discussed some Game of the year options and then look forward to twenty twenty one as Right off the bat. We got a bunch of games coming out in the beginning of the first the new year. We got to tell you rods two. You've got bravely default to you've got he's nine And the newly Confirmed for some of five strikers. Just a name The the big big ones I'm sure there'll be others. That will be unfortunately lost in the in the way. So we're going to record that sometime this week and In lieu of any news breaking. I may just make that part of the normal podcast unsure on that. But let's get into it. I hope you guys had a wonderful christmas holiday I didn't have any games that i particularly wanted that. We're already out. So i just kind of asked Asked the parents for Email confirmation that beginning Today risa to when it comes out on january twenty six that was cool and i did end up much too. Many of your delight. Hopefully i'm finally going to take a dive into these series. I picked up. Yee's eight for only twenty dollars on the ps story. I could not refuse as the physical version just refuses to ever go down in price so i figured this was by far the best opportunity. Get in on. What many consider to be a very very good. Jr pg and at some point. I'll be playing. It don't really know when that's going to be but that's enough rambling We did have fell. Calm day Twenty twenty winter addition and we got a few tidbits of information about the new legend of heroes. Toddle kiro no koseki if you notice the thumbnail for this Podcast are the two newest main characters is a third as well but these They dig use some high-rise resolution images of the to unsure why the third one was kind of like ashaari pow We'll get you later but still no names for these two characters but we do have a bit of information stuff. You see that image. There's a couple other on our facebook and twitter feed of those two characters while they are. I say have that trails feel to them. I do kind of agree with what president condo said last time that at mediate Glance they don't appear to be trails characters. And i believe that lies in the fact that they are from calvert So they're going to look a little bit different and we'll talk about that in just a little bit. These illustrations were drawn by katsumi. Nama and the other characters are from alcom. Like i said the character's names were not announced to this game is coming out sometime in twenty twenty one in japan so those were the images. There were some other ones as well. If you'd like to see all those. I did put up a slide show video on our youtube channel. So you can check those out if you don't feel like clicking through pictures of via the website here is what we do know and i will just read this to you as this is the about for the new age of heroes karoo new koseki beyond the blue sky ahead of flashing light a land. A dawning resides cuba. There's no spoilers going on in here. This is all preliminary stuff in the news story arc. So we don't have to worry about that type of stuff the ladder this latter half of the trails. There is about to begin. The setting moved to the calvert republic in two thousand and twenty one foul calm release. Legend heroes kernigan the latest entering the trail serious as its fortieth anniversary rumors of work. The calvert nation is a multi ethnic nation experiencing unprecedented economic growth. Brought about by post war reparations. In a corner of the capital of a huge nation were immigration issues bringing about political instability. Okay well maybe. There are some spoilers in here okay. let's just get to the best. I'm sorry i read that. And i didn't think about it until just now okay. The command style action time bow system. You didn't previous trails. Titles has been revamped and that's going to set up an from a couple people. Let's just see what they said. Seamlessly transitioned from action oriented field battles to turn based commands battle to turn based command battle systems while making use of the unique elements the sixth generation combat or meant would try to pronounce his last time. I'm not sure how it is x. I f. r. x. i. p. h. a. z. Feel in a ballots to evolve from the previous trails titles. Okay so what does that mean. I don't. I don't know i really don't know how to had say seamlessly transition from action oriented field battles to turn based command battle systems I i mean obviously there's a bit of an extra element when you strike the enemies on the field in order to go into the turn based battle i. I need to see this in action to really know what they're even beginning to talk about would just have to wait and see You will feature many elements you laws. It's setting including a topics system which enabled together until such topics by communicating with. Mpc's out towns tra- gate situations in your favor when you act as a spray gun and that is the The character it's basically a detective. But they're calling them spring and alignment flame system. In which characters three alignments great and chaotic fluctuate depending on your own style influencing various status allies and adversaries and even scenario developments please look forward to allege heroes lowest entrance toasters depicted enrich expression by thumbs new original ingen. So that's that's pretty cool Here's what how they set up the situation and I get. I don't wanna get too much into this. The to emit the two people that you see in the image the one is the one call the speaker those are they say sometimes detective somedays negotiators and other days as bounty hunters. They're up for any job from any client. That's pretty cool And then the other one is Say to be a school girl wearing uniform. Prestigious school visits a rundown building located in old town in cowards capital. So that's the setting that's beginning of it. You can check out those images. Like i said there's a third character in the images as well with the two swords on his back and some long hair but we don't have any details. There is a battle scene that shows what looks like to be a craft or an art powering up but that from that snippet it does look to be turn based. So don't i'm so confused as to what to make. But i'm certainly excited about this one. But the lack of details and the promise of something new is leading to some question marks popping up. And i don't necessarily love that idea but it is what it is and until we learn a little bit more. It's just going to be speculation Unfortunately though that wasn't the only bit of information. And i'm sure we'll have a bunch more but Foul calm day twenty twenty winter. Also let us know about and this is not really affecting us as much. But they did. Say that a hatch marco koseki which is the one before this one and after cold steel four Clouded leopard entertainment will release a switch. Pc esteemed version of the game Sometime in summer. Twenty twenty one in japan in asia. I'm nearly positive. That's the same company that handled The transition for coastal three and four to the top of my head. So i came out for. Ps four in japan on august twenty seventh. So you know nearly a year later. They're talking summer to get that Switch pc version now. It handles the asian side of this and i s america handles the translation available. At least they have for the past two games In the cold still series in the west still no confirmation that that translation is ongoing. That have to assume that it is unless it's being handled by other parties I mean exceed did do the first two trills of cold steel games but at imagine that they are going to do this hedge amari as well and as soon as i hear something about that it will happen. It's certainly a good thing that this is happening and It could lead to a speedier at least for these games in the west. But like i said still no information on unfortunately. The last thing that they talked about was not briefly. Mentioned this last time the natto. noca- seki game. That is coming out in japan for For playstation four. This was the old Two thousand twelve least. Psp action rpg though some new details and images kinda showing the ps p version versus the Ps four version of it They're sent opposites gonna run at sixty frames per second on. Ps four with more vibrant graphics. Not being obviously these are things that you'd want to have updated from an old old system user interface options One thing that i thought was very interesting. And i'm not to say what they say. This game is not connected to the trails game. However the main character's name is now utah herschel now you trails players especially cold. Steel will know towa. Her last name is hershal So what they're they say there's no connection but then there's a connection is the protagonist and a boy from that island who attends and academy in saint elise. Those aren't you know aren't names that i recognized the from the trails series so it is very very interesting and i would be would like to know what that connection is at kind of read through it. You can read through the tales. Like i said before i am lower on the percentage scale To say of this game was actually going to make it over here or not. I if i if you say your day is gonna come today out outs. Action say no but would just have to wait and see. The original game did not look super impressive. So this isn't a game that i'm all that excited about to begin with but we'll have to. We'll just have to wait and see if that indeed happens for a lot of switch owners the next. Gop g they will more than likely be picking up is going to be bravely default to gain closer and closer to that february twenty. Sixth rolled wide release date friend square annex released new trailer for it albeit in japanese and have still not seen an english version of this yet so it talks all well. Supposedly it talks about wiz walt. The country established by those mejia's. They did it themselves to studies. The magic research institute But the the real kicker with this one and you can see it. Is this places overgrown. It looks like it was built kind of in the middle of it are on top of a giant tree. And there's just this tree just going right up through entire town is really cool again Trailer is how long was trailer of about three and a half minutes. Like i said in japanese so you can't really tell what's going on but it is kind of cool to see some of the visuals in action Four it but if you're elected shake those game out for yourself you can check out the demo for it It is now live on the east shop and One who feels the demo before its release will even pick up one hundred mine. Intendo platinum points here is the Short official description of the demo experienced the games at risk and reward system character strategy and stunning visuals in the latest braley default to final demo in this demo. The games four men characters are already other journey with jobson abilities at their disposal. I downloaded this. The other night. as if getting the switch away from my kid was hard enough with minecraft previously The kid did pretty good for Christmas and her birthday. And i now had to contend with her own copy of animal crossing so she and my wife can play two switches and who copies of animal crossing so they can will each other's islands. I know she also got the Spyro trilogy which. I really enjoyed those games growing up. So i can't wait to play those with her and relive those moments and she picked up mario maker to so. I'm not seeing that switch for a while. Maybe once she goes to sleep. If i don't have anything to play eck fired that demo. I would like to see how it is shaping up as will If you've got some free time and you're looking for d'you monster hunter rise. There are to say ten videos in total. Let's do a little no here. One two three four seven eight nine ten eleven twelve. There's twelve total. So i check. They were they were released in two packs. I take them all and made them into six long. Because it only about a minute minute long. So if you're one to check out some of the different weapons they go into monster hunter rise. You can do that going from Things like the switch axe gun lance hammer sorted shield heavy light bogue gun. Land is long swords and even the hunting horn. You check all those out over on our youtube channel. J rpg report dot com. You can also see a new second official trailer for the action. Rpg magnum lord Still no western released on this one yet. It is coming out in japan on march. The eighteenth for playstation four and switch said. This is the second trailer for the game. It looks pretty cool. I do hope that they bring this one. Over is from publisher. D three Developer felicia quite heard of them before. But still no word on it. I really hope they bring this over because it does pretty fun but yeah nothing Nothing quite yet. i'll go over some of these ones. That are just videos. There's a fifteen minutes of new footage from christ tales. This is previewing the present and future game play of it Remember this game got pushed back to early. Twenty twenty one. That's just the winner that don't into it's been Hit with a couple delays here lately. Not sure how much. Everything's pandemic related at this point but how much they just wanna fine tune things in. How much is really needed to make this work. Obviously you're doing with a system of past present and future while stuff can go wrong and working Just the way that you would like it to work New genesis the fantasy star online. To almost say reboot but definitely the new version of there is the opening movie for it and you should probably check this out. If we're looking at over fifty minutes of new footage as well mostly the character creation for its but this opening movie You know typically when you see these opening movies. They're using a pre rendered scenes. This was actually created using parts of the in game graphics. Engine which looks amazing Definitely if you're looking forward to this you should check it out sometime in twenty twenty. One is the release date Four it but again. This is one of those. Well not one of those but this is the faa gain. That i'm kind of just don't understand why it's not on playstation four. In the west it is in japan. But you've got to either play on xbox or on pc here in the west doesn't make a ton of sense but there's just things like that in this world that we gotta kinda get used to them. I guess we got three bits of sky news this week. i is. You can check out the fourth official trailer for six defiance of destiny I believe there's an english. There's an english version for this out. Now you can check it out. There was originally came out. There was just a japanese version but the english version shows off of really cool voices that they've got for the game. They got some good voice. Talent in this one in Very fitting for the series especially the little reincarnated pug services is awesome It's about seven or review of the game If you are curious about what's going on in this one changes that they've made this series. You will definitely want to check it out. Of course it doesn't come out in the west until summer. Twenty twenty one. Japan is going to get it in right about a month on january. The twenty eighth The other day actually. This was on christmas eve that this news broke New punchy released some new information screenshots for the game featuring and i hope i get these names right la haro aetna and flown Those were the original characters from the original the sky and they are saying that Basically once you beat the game you can Play a scenario with these original characters in it so kind of a you know. They're not in the main game this something post post content but the fact that they're in their would open the door to other characters popping up from other games as well. So that's a cool thing The world inside of an item. I m worlds have mended. Detailed in this article on worlds are divided into several fours slash layers and the items level increases with every four. That you clear says weapons become stronger as they level up. You can clear there either. Worlds to power them up once. An item is leveled up. You can get the same item at the same level from then on pretty cool feature of the sky series all these images i took input into a slide show. You can check that out on our youtube channel so you can dispatch companions into item worlds to research them. There's a new team attack system with up to ten characters in it. That's a pretty cool feature. New enemies were detailed There's a new horsemen. That's pretty crazy. So here's the Previous protagonist Oh here we go says not only will hear from. Our doctors appear the protagonist in heroines of the sky. Two three four and five will also appear in three d. The protagonist and heroines wilburs as downloadable content sometime after the launch of disguise six. So there's a from the sky to or i don't know in timika these pronunciations. I'm at risk of offending people. I understand how they're supposed to be pronounced So yeah they're gonna add them in there as as post content deal see. That's the type of thing. Like i would think you'd be okay with paying for because that's obviously not a part of disguise six. They are previous games characters in new content. So take how you feel about. Dlc that is that's one thing i think is is no k To do speaking of all those previous disguised characters they are all assembled in the rpg. Mobile game And we got news from bolt chain games that they will release worldwide the mobile version the sky arc in spring. Twenty twenty one Unless you're in these countries in the no fast if you are but we are a western primarily focused podcasts. So you're not going to get in china taiwan hong kong macau singapore malaysia or korea Sorry don't i don't know why maybe that is. Just it's gonna come out later. Maybe there's some rules preventing that From happening if we're interested in getting it on a closed beta for the game. They will have one for canada. Brazil australia and the philippines sometime in january so really happy to see this thing go worldwide. There was a global announced trailer for it This came back It came back in march of twenty nineteen in japan. Had a whole bunch of issues with it and It was de definitely the this game was deadly responsible for some financial hardships for nippon ichi. And they finally got up. Right obviously gotta writes the point. Now they're really to bring this thing out worldwide As far as the gotcha game or not. I don't know if i recall. I think it was paid game. But i should probably ended up before speaking about it. But i'm sure there's elements in there but hopefully this is a Not another one of those kind of like. We've we've like. We've got enough of those already know ankara today. So in place of it you get one last plea for listener support We've had a few people signed up for but really not a whole lot of response so I kind of said you guys. I would do this to the year. See what we got and move forward I would love to have listener support. Not have the need for ads but it is just a reality of life and we may just see what that happens. If i get a bunch outpouring of support here after listening to this. I may reconsider. But at this point at least in the a few few adds to offset the cost of Of the time spent during the podcast hope to understand and hope you are okay with that excited much. Rather have just you guys Do that and not have to worry about. It would wait and see so you. Click on the link right below this episode. Either through anchor. John daly greatly. Appreciate it. And i don't have the read ads. You don't have to listen to him. That just seems like it'd be the the best thing for both of them If you're looking forward to to see how to say these things seal thurs. Dx and the They were supposed to come on japan on february twenty eighth. they have been delayed until march fourth. Twenty twenty one in japan. So if and when a western. What's going to happen for that. it's now going to be About five weeks later. I would to guess based on This delay these games Were from chloe tecmo and gusts so yeah just a little bit of Delay they save for further quality improvements. The games will be available for. Ps four switch and pcv steam win. They are released whenever that is sort. Online alsatian lakers got version one point to update it is now available and it adds a simone's ancient apostles story of course over various user interface online system battle improvements bugs fixed in addition to those two that new ancient apostles. Whatever you wanna call it of that new one coming at a replicant here soon. That's another game to start saving. Your opinion is four and hopefully build a buy. All these games coming out here in the near future. I've got one last. You talk about with you guys again. probably wouldn't talk with jordan about our game of the years for twenty twenty four to twenty twenty one. The next podcast. I am still trying to get through. Colts deal for Often not had time to play here lately. I think just hit or maybe just shy of one hundred hour mark. So i've still got a good thirty to forty hours to go hopefully make it in time to Play roz a two day one but we have to wait and see that game just keeps on keeps on going but Going to be is going to be tough. I'm really going to have to search my feelings. That i think is flowing anything to if it's going to be found pacers. Seven remastered or a remake rather or four. It's it's really tough there. There's my heart says one thing amonte says another and there's different things to have to consider overall ought to make that final decision here real soon on what that What was looking forward to our thoughts here are coming out this week on. Kyle duncan beckett. This just insane twenty twenty year but looking forward to twenty twenty one famitsu has gone and interviewed a bunch of creator interviews and one hundred and ten of them to be precise al shift to here and try to find the big ones but right off the bat. The world's highest mountain officially just got a little bit higher

"Today. China and appall agreeing for the first time announced that Mount Everest, which straddles both countries, is now 29,032 FT. Tall, slightly more than Nepalis previous measurement. About 13 ft higher than China's BBC environmental correspondent Levin saying Khadka joins us from London on Skype Levin, How do you measure this thing? How they do it? Hmm. Now that's the question, isn't it? How do you do it? How do you measure the highest mountain in the world? All right, So look, I don't want to confuse your audiences. It's lot off lot of technology a lot off complications there. But basically what they told me was, it is easy to find out the top of the mountain. But what you need to find out is the bottom of the mountain. How do you find at the bottom of the mountain and that will help them to find its height. So that is where you know the sea level thing comes in, so the Nepalese authorities they used the building goal as the base And then from there, they call this precise leveling again now that sea level needs to reach in the Everest region. Okay, so that's illegal. You know, visibly, you have to reach using your tripod. You know every 50 m or so they did for 250 kilometers and reach the Everest region and that watch as if The mountain is standing on the sea. You know that? Yeah, they calculated. That's one of the ways of doing it. But there are other ways as well well, but I understand that the two countries have argued about the other side how high it is. So when China and measure the mountain in 2005 it found a mounting was 8000 Internet 44.43 M So that it said was the rock surface. Now That's why there was this disagreement and China back then wanted Nepal to agree to this. This hide that found and appall disagreed because the Nepalese How did the snow on top of the summit? You're right. So yes, the the figure of Nepal government was using Woz, including the snow cap. They had this difference all these years. And then finally, you know, Nepal told that okay, This has to be decided once and for all, And then, in the meantime, if you remember in 2015, they were just major earthquake. So many geologists believe that that might have impacted on every side and therefore they have to find out if there was any change. Look, we understand that there's a Almost like a competition among these great mountains, which is the greatest, which is the tallest, which lends itself to the competition among climbers who can climb. You know these peaks and you've just explained that this extra footage really comes from below, really where that climb starts. So just this is really make any difference. When I speak to mountain is what they say is well, it doesn't make any difference to us. But then clearly, you know when countries are using these figures than definitely it becomes a huge issue and also quickly just to remind you when the two countries China and Nepal announced the height this morning, they didn't use the word Everest even once Nepal stuck to it its own name Sagar Mata and I know the Chinese kept on talking about trouble. Oma all these years, you know, Everest, the name itself and the height that was given out. You know it was it was initiative during the British colonial era and so on and so forth. China strictly believes that you know it owns up that mountain to some extent with the park. Everybody feels they own it in some way, But you know nothing. Hearing this news. I've just decided I was going to climate. But now I'm not 13 more feet. That's a bit much by China's standards. BBC's environmental correspondent Levin Sing Khadka on the new height of Mount Everest. The world's tallest mountain is a little bit taller Now, Naveen Thank you, my president.

"So i thought it was just kind of romance and long shots and things like that right You should watch them marx brothers from this era. They were just running rampant there comedies. Our faster paced and smarter than love steph. We make now so like thirties. There's some really really great stuff going on and we will tackle a number of movies in the future. So i think you'll find that. Actually the thirties aren't as creepy as you think. I mean there's definitely there's definitely examples of those movies that you know the ones you would think of. You know the ones you would spoofed on the simpsons or something like that The really awkward. Where the guys like singing. You know like like really cheesy love songs. It's really like seems like cardboard sets those movies do exist but there's some really extravagant Work being done in hollywood in the thirties to fair enough. Well i mean one thing. I noticed during the varying was how love is a is not really said very often. But it's it's a threat. Yeah and i think love itself gets both mata hari and general shubin killed. It does but it's also in a way. What freeze her in the end is that she is a woman in love going to her death. That's what she's smiling about. She's been liberated from this life of not having emotions. She's able to feel an emotion and that is her freedom you know. She has a moment where she resigned. She's like you know you don't resign from the spy world. I think everyone knows that. But she knows yells. Like i'm a hard. So she's seeking own independence which he gets but then at the end she's found love and she is not kind of operating in this morally gray limbo where you aren't attached to anything or anyone. Now you're right and accommodate nine again but another quite. I think quite good from this film is when andrea honest says to his assistant is any way you retire from this line of work through death or mud or something like that I is true like a lot of these. Even spy films now used the trope of yukon retired from the spy weld Really of it's time for. Why matching they were doing as you say. There was lots of crude films in this era. What i also find interesting about. This movie is looking at it. From the point of view of a greta garbo star vehicle because she was such a massive star and there is a certain amount of mystique around her to like the character. Because you know her other really well known movie which i haven't seen it's called the notch gut She was nominated for an oscar for that one. She was nominated a few times..

"Okay because i had a little trouble following this film a couple of times. I did it to catch couple adults. I she turns up. He accuses her of having seen rose north night before told by dubois right. She so confident in the fact that she has him under her thumb the she's willing to waive that information in his face because she doesn't think he's going to do anything about it for fear of losing his own career Right but then he actually calls her bluff and kohl's dubois and then eventually the embassy as well which results in his demise does make sense that makes a lot of sense and also just from the point of view of her character. Who someone who feels like. She has control over every circumstance running into a situation where she doesn't. Yeah she so used to having mental under control. You think is at least two times in this film i think. It's shuping and rosen of the both lean directly into her face to try and kiss her and she just like to stop some with just the finger. Yeah one of my favorite scenes in the movie is actually the scene. Where she's with rosenbaum and she's like well. I'm doing good night. And she liked closes the drapes but like kind of leaves them open. And i'm like. Oh that's oh wow. What a tease. yeah. I totally like. She knows she's playing. This guy like crazy. Did she know about him by that point. All was she just flooding with the guy to get out of the casino at the time. That scene with the curtains is actually before she connect the dots that he's the pilot. She knows a pilot but she doesn't know who it is so she's just going with him to get away from andrea. Yeah yeah. I mean. I would to of course. Of course he's got a guy with a club foot and he's covered some reason that's terrifying and there's also that seen earlier where he has the guy assassinated i guess pooh-poohing tank plans or something like that. Well he was implying. Yeah what he handsome the gun in the in the newspaper or whatever and the stack of paper you that i. I assumed he wanted to do with the gun. But i was like. That's such a way of saying you kill yourself. I got the impression because he said basically you failed. Clean it up. Enhancing the gun and the guy walks. I'm pretty sure that guy was going to commit suicide dedication to the coals. that really is. I was curious though. I referenced earlier. Wouldn't you think of the scene where the seduction scene with matahari. And rosen off. Where you know. It's his bedroom. Seen any this candle the sacred candle on that his mother had given him that she said. Never blow out the candle and Mata hari in this battle of wills is trying to persuade him to blow the candle. I thought this seed maybe the best scene in the movie. Yeah it is by far the best scene in the film except for maybe the scene to will right towards the end but it just feels like an absolute you know big energy move to try and gain to blow out the candle just to show that she has that power. Yeah like this entire thing is just a display of power and it kind of goes back to my dudes are dumb but like she wins this battle. Pretty handily like this guy's willing to throw everything away for her in this moment. Yeah he's he's bought in by that point he he wants some Some matahari and i do love that that senior the next morning. She's just leaving note being like. I'm not the kind of woman you think i am..

"I was just hoping you with me on that bed sourcing. I'm gonna blow the candles. Scott blow the explains why you text me the other day that make sense right. Yeah okay. I've after that point i think they do a really good job with mata hari. I think aggressive does a great job of bringing that character to life. Onscreen will i love how. The movie has a lot of fun with playing her as sort of ice in her veins agent. Who's just playing men for fools but also you know allowing us to see more of the human side of this character and her wanted desires once. She does find love and her conflict there. But i tell you. I had a lot of fun with scenes where she's walking into the casino and these guys are just like dropping over for this woman. I would love to see you. Sit in my chair. This woman at the was it that they get to play backer at what they were gonna plan back area. That's thought a woman at the table has a ring. She's trying to sell and every guy is like falling over themselves to buy matahari this rig and i was just like wow. This is incredible. And i just wrote in giant letters on my in my notes. Dudes are dumb true. i. I'm just wondering if that would work as a child blind now. If you went up to a goal in the barnes like. I'd love to see sit in that chair. I don't think that would work. explains my track record with women. Yeah yes you like. You carry your own chair wherever you go. Try and get people to buy my ring off of me why it's not working. Yeah i. I just found so much fun to watch and greta garbo element of camp to this performance. I think it's inherent to the material but it's also very well controlled camp where it feels like. She knows that this is kind of absurd of what's being portrayed on screen but she's relishing every moment of it yeah. It's like military precision campus. Exactly and i mean what did you think this movie had to say about men being sort of dupes for this sort of espionage. I think there was a line. I'm looking at a very well. But the dubois says to shubin oldman being a bringing the champagne and then the young men doing something Do you remember the line. I mean i vaguely vaguely but yeah i know kind of what you mean. Yeah that it does a very good job of showing how much control. She has over men. Oh yeah and you know. This character knows that and i really appreciate how confidence she always came across. We never had seen her looking like nervous. Or you know wary going into these missions and And i really enjoyed the character of general shubin played by lionel. Barrymore drew barrymore's i guess grandfather. I guess maybe Yes she what. She's from the barrymore legacy so. Yeah but this character wins the orem off award for the like sweaty nervous guy who just wants to go do something else anywhere else in the same ray gets killed towards the end spoilers. But he's like he's uniforms untied and he's hazel disheveled and he's just like drinking like volcker and there's no show what to do with himself. Yeah i mean. He is the ultimate dupe in..

"I i will fund it myself without a patriot. Everyone get on board shots. Hari is coming to you on the to be to be coming to be everyone arrigo forever or was the google screen or whatever. God yahu screen. Yeah that's it. Yeah yeah. That's it community and chateau hari. It's right that's a match made in heaven right there getting off topic a little bit of course serious topic it now okay. Let's let's talk about because we spoke about matahari as a person and now we've got matahari as a character even in the bio. It says semi fictionalized account. So you know. The leading into the fact day is hyped for the screen and they have changed it and saying this is completely true story but i think what they do with the story and making it more of a hollywood glitzy film. I think it's a good translation. Nails down the legend of matahari. Very well in terms of what we think of all sorts it also humanizes her in some ways. Because you have this romance with this pilot played by raymond navarro Who played a lieutenant. Alexis rosen off in the film You have the senate. This character has real tension of you know her dedication to spycraft and falling in love and the movie you know shows kind of the ramifications of that through another character that will talk about a little bit later But i feel like a glossy kind of like. Here's mata hari feels like. You actually get into the tension. That's going on within that character. And i think a lot of that is due to greta garbo who communicates a lot with a little. Yes she does a lot with what could be quite a generic character. I feel bike. And also i admired the fact that the film didn't portray her as ever coming across as weak or something. Like you could totally see a movie of this era. Having her just kind of crumble. For love earlier there is a real sense of strength to that character in that she still a very capable agent. Who is willing to make tough calls. And she's making those calls most of the way for the film and she's fighting the the love which is ultimately her demise in this story. She's fighting that whole problem for quite a while trying to resist in lean to her training. Which i assume is not fall in love. Because that's her agent handle. It tells her earlier on in the film right. Yeah because her whole emission here is to steal these communication documents. That rosen office carrying. And so she is. I mean he is the the fact that he she has to double cross him potentially get him kill and You know all for the service to germany. I thought that was actually a very compelling way to simplify perhaps what the matahari story is for a general audience. Who at this point is just showing up for entertainment. I just point something outs may i. I noted down when i was watching it earlier. It's very. I don't want to say brave because maybe hollywood was doing now this time. But if you think about the political alignment of this film now. Hollywood is an american production They making this film not in wartime. So it's between the two world wars and.

Volatile tech stocks expose growing vulnerability in US market

"Next guest warned. There could be bigger pullback looming for some of the hottest names in this space. Let's go off the charts with the legendary louisiana mata louisi- mata technical research advisors louise. It is a pleasure as an honor for free to join us. We quote you many times on this show. So i'm really really curious to hear what you have to say about tech. You're you're climb melissa. Well we've had a volatile three or four months and technology has really been enough more or less going sideways for the fang stocks in particular. And we've got a little concerned that the most important thing would be support levels and recognizing the since two thousand when there were next we have earnings that these stocks but they could be off twenty percent and still be within an uptrend. Some of them are already off. When percent question is during a break. The support of these sideways consolidation. Will they be able to lift. Google of course has already lifted so we have. We have three stocks. Here today amazon. I think gives the first one I'm not seeing it. It may be coming up. But i'm not seeing any of that. Is you can see the sideways action. We have negative momentum on that on that chart and it's already been down eighteen percent so as long as it holds above twenty. Nine hundred is critical support than maybe just simply continues to consolidate further. Maybe we'll see a resolution on the upside that the point is that more or less been warning about support levels in suggesting we let the upside take care of itself. The next chart. I believe you have is microsoft and support. There's one ninety five but you can see also it's been going sideways for quite some time with lower highs and it's been down fifteen percent I think the most vulnerable of these stocks is net flicks which has not only a negative momentum on a weekly basis but also a negative divergence on a monthly so support for netflix's four seventy already off twenty percent and keeps bouncing and going down another twenty percent within the sideways consolidation so That's our concern here today. I must say was impressive. Day and not all tech stocks are looking vulnerable but these ones that we have been concerned about louis. At what point do you say. They're consolidating and building a base as opposed to threaten to break the support. That would be breaking out through the upper level of these consolidations so basically these are critical support levels as long as they hold. We continue to define that as a consolidation. And if at some point down the road they lift up through the entire consolidation than we. We've become more constructive once again. Google for instances one of them has already broken out to the upside. Netflix's looks a little bit more vulnerable to me. Last question lewis. Because we quote you and i. I think that we misquote you. But the sentiment is there when it comes to your saying the longer the base the higher in space is that is that the sanger. We're getting that right. Yes absolutely the bigger. The base that aaron space the because atop the bigger the drought and the bigger the drops a longer the need for repair. And i think what we're seeing as we're getting excited about some of the underlying broadening that's taking place is that may be the repair processes beginning for some of these other stocks that have been in bear markets. I could throw a triple this one. That's looking interesting but you have a few industrial center. Starting to break out in that heart warming. We felt that the market has been a little bit mixed up itself and not sure you know as a discount mechanism. What's coming six months. Maybe these vaccines we have a better

Pressure mounts for Biden to get high-level intelligence briefings

"More. Republican senators are admitting to reality today. Bringing the total to twelve in some form today. Lindsey graham chuck grassley rob portman. Mike rounds josh hawley. John cornyn and john thune who is number two to mitch. Mcconnell in the republican leadership said the joe biden should be given the president's daily brief on national security issues. Republican senator james langford of oklahoma said he would take action if joe biden doesn't get the president's daily brief tomorrow. There's nothing wrong with vice-president biden getting the briefings to be able to prepare himself and so that he can be ready to presence already getting those. There's nothing wrong with the former vice president getting those Kamala harris is on the intelligence committee. She has all the clearances that she needs to be able to do that. there is no loss From him getting the briefings and to be able to do that. And if that's not occurring by friday. I will step in as well and available to push into say. This needs to occur so they regardless of the outcome of the election. Whichever way that it goes at people can be ready for that actual task that brought no response from the president of the united states. None mata word now just imagine a fortnight ago. If any of these republican senators had separated themselves from donald trump on anything no matter how slight the separation might be imagine the rage tweeting at them from donald trump. Imagine that voice yelling over the helicopter noise as he condemned those republicans to white house. Reporters imagine what he would have said about them to his rally. Audiences who would've obediently roared back their disapproval of donald trump's new republican enemies. Instead we have silence the sixth consecutive day of silence from the man who we thought did not know. What silence is we have never seen trumpian silence like this because we have never seen donald trump a politician defeated before we have seen him humiliated usually by his own words. we have seen him impeached. We have seen him disgraced but we have never seen him defeated until now and in defeat we now know. He melts into a cowering silence. The silence is the concession speech. "Well i was kind of. I guess in inadvertent midwife that we at the at the fellowship that we did back in what year was two thousand thirteen although we agree time has ceased to have any meaning. And that is michael pollen of michael palin fame. He is indeed the advert midwife of guest or pod. Because nikki and i were together at uc berkeley that year in two thousand thirteen out of fellowship. Run by michael. That's how we met. And you discovered your shared love of science slash food. yeah it's one of the happier offspring of that fellowship. Obviously if you're into the stories behind food and farming as we both are michael's writing is pretty much at the top of your list. We've wanted to have him on the show for ever and this episode was the perfect excuse to revisit one of our favourite of his books. The botany of desire in the botany of desire michael traces the stories of four plants and their intimate relationships with humans. One of those plans is the apple tree. And i don't know about you. But when i think of apple trees the first person is of is johnny appleseed. This is a very american thing to think of. I'd never heard of until. I moved here so for our non american listeners. This is what americans are thinking of when they think of johnny appleseed well they would probably have the walt disney image johnny appleseed which is of this you know barefoot guy on the frontier bringing goodwill sweetness to people when people hear johnny appleseed. It's it's very wholesome. It's very Uncontroversial he's a disney character right very soft. But actually the the real. Johnny appleseed and i use that word advisedly because there's so much we don't know about him is much more interesting in his book. Michael traces janis path planting apples across the us. And we're going to do the same here but i. There weren't actually apple's growing here. Before europeans arrived there crab apples that were here in the sixteen hundreds but native people did not have sweet apples. This is amy traverse. Oh she's the author of the apple lovers cookbook and senior editor at yankee magazine. So apple's are we think of apples as this american fruit and american as apple pie and we identify closely with apples americans but it turns out. They're not they're from kazakhstan around town called alma mata which means father of the apple. I'ma autism now called amati and it's the largest city in kazakhstan. I've never been there but if you go. Apparently you will see whole forests of apple's fifty foot tall apple trees. Apple's coming up in the cracks of the sidewalks. It's like a weed there and these apple's most of them look nothing like our image of the apple. I mean there's some the size of there's there's big brown ones there's just this incredible range and they're apple trees that are kind of prostrate and grow along the ground and ones that grow vertically ones that have canopies. I mean it's just incredible diversity but a lot of apples weren't particularly sweet or delicious. At least not to humans. They were dry and hard so did survive the drop to the ground and often the flesh was kind of bitter acidic and tannock because these chemicals were preservatives that would also help to fight up worms and insects and that was all useful because the apples needed to be eaten by bears to spread their seeds. And if you would like to hear what the delight of a group of bear cubs that has just come across the pile of fallen apples. Sounds like which of course you would you need to be on our special supporters mailing list gastropod dot com slash support bears. Yes there are a lot of bears and kazahstan. They love apples but like humans they also prefer sweeter ones and larger ones and even retro ones. These big red sweet apples sometimes appeared in all the different ones that grew wild and bears chose those and help spread their seeds and so the bears hopes for just the kind of apple's that we wanted the large sweet red ones and so then people who tasted these bear approved. Apple's turned into apple fans to and not just the locals because that area of kazakhstan was right in the middle of the silk road. An incredibly important trading route that stretched all the way from china to europe magin stumbling across. I mean you're living in a world with no sugar ray or at least it's a very rare. That kind of sweetness is extremely rare and very fleeting and you stumble across a forest where you find these fruits that are sweet and that actually keep well. I mean not a lot of fruits that you might find in that same forest like apricots will rot very quickly whereas an apple would last for weeks or maybe months and so people would pocket them and bring them to the next trading ports or the next trading town and they really spread that way and they flourished wherever they spread. because apple's have a couple of botanical superpowers. Apples are unique in that they easily enter. Breed with the native crab will species of whatever region. They end up in. And so those crab apples within s- place in the genes that allowed to survive in their climate. So that's super useful. Those local crab apples had jeans. That would be perfectly suited to the local environment.

Berlin Model Y Timeline, TSLA Stock, Consumer Reports Autopilot Ranking

"Everybody robbing our here and today we're going to start off talking about about Tesla stock obviously a tough day for the markets. Today, we have some news on Mata. Why from gigabytes win an update from consumer reports on self driving technology and some news on the Fiat Chrysler Tesla credit situation. So Tesla's stock today was down four point four percent to four hundred and six dollars two cents compared to the Nasdaq down three point seven percent. So I think most of that move tesla was macro driven the S. and P. Five hundred and the Dow Jones Index had their worst days since. June I don't think volatility should be expected. Of course, we're heading into the US federal election next that's on Tuesday and a lot of places. Today are attributing the down market to a continued rise in covid nineteen cases, and in some locations that is causing restrictions that had previously been relaxed to be put back in place. So for example, I'm pretty close to Chicago. We heard today or yesterday that they are closing down indoor dining, and as we head into winter, obviously outdoor dining can be a little bit less appealing. So that can have even bigger economic impact than it would have during. The summer months for example and places like Colorado there at restrictions, doing things like closing down gyms. So we're seeing this all happen at the same time as the election approaches we haven't heard much on another round of stimulus or other. We have heard a lot about it, but we're not seeing any action there yet, and all that seems to be weighing on the stock. But at least at this point in time I don't see a whole lot of fundamental impact for Tesla. I'd be really surprised if had to end up shutting factory again I think eons comments and actions last time. That happened would make it difficult move politically to do that, but it's also not outside the realm of Boston. So we'll keep an eye on things as they develop. All right next up here we've got a story from Tusla Roddy, and before we even get into this unrest GonNa, add a huge preface that this report is just based on one person's interaction with one tesla employees. So a Lotta Times, information like this can just be completely inaccurate, but we're also here just trying find any little tidbit of information that we can. So I do think we're talking about. So test the ratty got. A message from a reservation holder for a model. Y. In the Netherlands and this person told Tesla Rati quote this morning. I got a call from Tesla in the Netherlands with some questions on my order. In that conversation, the Tesla employee told me that they expected deliver my Berlin build model y in q one or q two of twenty, twenty one they had just received an internal update on the billing process and Berlin and quote. So if we again go back to you this nice little timeline that was put together by Toby lend on twitter, we can see that four. Giga Shanghai. It took about five months ago from the first walls being constructed to the first body and and then a little bit over three months after that for first deliveries if Berlin can stay on the same schedule which so far it's actually been a little bit ahead of schedule from what the timeline was for. Shanghai could be looking at the first body and white sometime in January, and then maybe first deliveries sometime around April or may even March, and again that's based on Shanghai and there does seem to right now at least be a possibility of Berlin dragging even faster the other recent information. We got here was from the earnings call when dramatically no. When asked about the use of the pilot for forty six eighty cells and Fremont said quote we can use our pilot production facility in Fremont to support the new factory and Berlin as it ramps and quote. So within twelve months Tesla. Hopes to get that pilot lion to ten gigawatt hours of annual battery production that's a hundred and thirty three, thousand, seventy, five, kilowatt hour packs, and while it's not going to media, we hit that rate it shouldn't be too long from now where the output is you know maybe thousand or two. Thousand packs per month that would seem to hopefully track nicely along with the model why ramp up in Berlin. So again, on book this, saying take this with a grain of salt but to me, this does seem like a pretty plausible timeline q one or to, and this is obviously going to be even more interesting than normal vehicle ramp up would be because of the new technology tesla will be using in the Monowai. From Berlin I think we're all incredibly curious to see what the specs on that vehicle are give thing just while we're on the topic of motto that I want to. Motto I production is just about to explode. Next year I mean think about Tesla said in the ten Q, they're trying to ramp model white production not only in Shanghai not only Berlin but also in Texas in addition to having production of the why in Fremont came out on production on model y over the next two years is going to be incredible and prices are gonNA, come way down on that vehicle as production volume and look Liz ation increase. All right. Let's move onto the next topic here. This is from consumer reports. This got a lot of media attention. Today we're not gonNA spend on the time on it, but consumer reports today came out with their rankings for driver assistance systems, testing such systems from seventeen different automakers, and they actually have Cadillac supercrew coming out on top with a score of sixty nine and Tesla autopilot coming in second with a score of fifty seven. So of course, a lot of attention on this. But as I emphasized in the beginning, this is consumer reports testing for driver assistance systems.

Coronavirus Is Surging In The US

"One, But however you define it. Corona virus in the U. S is surging. Some parts of the country air passing more restrictions to try to combat the record number of cases this as we have yet another Corona virus outbreak in the White House. NPR's Alison Aubrey is with us now. Good morning, Alison. Good morning, Rachel. So when we say the White House we mean in the orbit of Vice President Mike Pence, several aides to the vice president have tested positive for covered 19, including his chief of staff. Nevertheless, the vice president decided to keep traveling to keep campaigning. What's the reaction been to them? You know, the decision to keep his travel schedule intact was made in consultation with the White House medical unit, the spokesperson said. Yesterday and pencils office says this is in accordance with CDC guidance for essential personnel there, basically making the case he has Essential work to do, including on the campaign trail. But public health experts Rachel are really questioning this definition. Here's Josh Sharfstein of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He served in the FDA under President Obama. The vice president should be limiting interactions with others because he could be harboring the virus and he could wind up becoming infectious. And so if there are essential activities that he needs to do in person, he should take extra precautions to do those, but otherwise I think he should be staying at home. Especially given around the country, including places. Pence is scheduled to travel such as Minnesota. The viruses circulating widely, right, So let's talk about that. Alison. What do the numbers tell us about the virus right now? The U. S has been averaging about 68,000 new cases per day. This is about a 30% increase compared to just two weeks ago. In recent days, new cases have reached record levels in several states, Utah, Tennessee, Illinois in Chicago over the weekend. Stronger restrictions took effect of bars and restaurants must close earlier in the evening. This is part of a curfew in the city. Other parts of Illinois have stricter rules, too, including new limits on the number of people allowed together and Rachel. They're certainly a lot of reminders around the nation to stay. Vigil eight, right? Hospitalizations from Cove. It have been on the rice too. I mean, does that mean we're likely to see more fatalities in coming weeks? You know, probably there are still a lot of people dying about 775 people per day in the U. S. On average. That's a lot lower than the highs of last spring. Part of this can be explained by the increase in cases among younger people who are less likely to die. But Rachel there's also been an improvement in treating people in hospitals. Physician Anish Mata is an infectious disease expert at Emory University. He is also a principal investigator for the H M Death Severe trialled at Emory. Last week, the FDA gave this antiviral drug full approval. Red death, severe reduced recovery time to 10 days for 15 days and also importantly, run desecrated treated patients had less use of mechanical valve leaders and other advanced oxygen's airport techniques. Compared to patients who didn't get room disappear. Now it's important to point out Rachel. This is not a home run treatment. It hasn't been shown to significantly prevent deaths among very sick patients, but it does have some benefits and Allison doctors now have other treatments they can offer as well as from desperation. That's right. Doctors have more tools in the toolkit. Now they have You know steroids, such as Dixon Math Zone better information about when to put people on blood thinners. Overall, the death rate appears to have dropped. In fact, a new study that included an analysis of thousands of hospitalized patients found that at the start of the pandemic patients had about a 25% chance of dying. Now they have an 8% chance. So still high, but definitely improvement. Yeah, definitely So younger people, you know, you mentioned more younger people have been diagnosed with the virus. So as we start to think about Thanksgiving Is there any way Tio Tio ensure that college students don't bring the virus home as they leave for break? You know, if you have a college student coming home to you find out if they're being tested, many schools are offering or even requiring an exit test or a departure test. Just before students depart for Thanksgiving break. I spoke to David Paul Thiel, He's a professor at the Yale School of Public Health about this He says. Of course, it's easy to identify symptomatic people. But this isn't good enough. I'm worrying about the student who feels just fine but who happens to have been exposed recently and who could be heading home to visit an elderly relative. And so we don't want to be sending little ticking time bombs home for Thanksgiving. I completely agree that we need to have everybody tested within 72 hours of departure. Now. Not every school can manage this given the cost. But many campuses are offering departure test, including big schools like Ohio State and many small liberal arts schools, too. During such as families that have college age kids either, right? I mean, my own family. We're trying to figure out what we do anything. We're all trying to figure this out, right? Everyone started figured out. So what can you tell us of this boy now, Zim? Well,

Battery Rollout Plan Plus Elon Musk Production Email

"We're here today we are talking about a potential roadmap for tests roll out of their new forty, six eighty battery cells, and then we have a few other news stories to go through on Tesla's well, we'll start off with batteries where we have quite a bit of new information coming from a very active Ilan on twitter today and the first tweet I want to highlight here is on the forty-six, eighty sal and gigabyte lint yuan in response to whole Mars on twitter says quote Berlin will. Use Forty eighty sell with structural battery pack and front and rear single piece castings. Also new paint system. A lot of new technology will happen in Berlin, which means significant production risk Fremont and Shanghai will transition in about two years when new tack is proven and quote this whole situation with the ramp up of Gigabit, Lan has caused quite a bit of confusion because we do expect that to happen sometime pretty early in twenty twenty one probably sometime in q two would be the start production. But Tesla on the other hand side a lot of the technology during Battery Day was still in sort of a pilot phase and I think there were a lot of sumptious that initially this new Salle would be used in the Plaid Model S, which we know isn't expected until late twenty, twenty one. So that's where the confusion comes in of. Okay. What cells are going to be used in that initial motto why Production Pretty early next year from Giga Berlin with this tweet from Ilana it. Appears that we now have a pretty conclusive answer that from the beginning, it seems like tussle will be trying to use those forty six eighty tablets, battery cells, as well as these of of sell to pack or released sell to vehicles structure battery format as for the chemistry used in those cells. Tesla during the Battery Day presentation split up into three groups, iron based Nicholas, manganese, and high nickel in terms of cathodes and the model why image did appear in the nickel plus manganese section of that. Approach. So presumably, that's what we would see in the model. Why though did add in another tweet that quote we do expect to make heavy use of LLP for medium range cars and stationary storage and quote with L. B.. Being with the modern phosphate I think one of the key questions around the ramp up of the model y from Berlin is how Tesla handles that and the potential osborne effect that that could have on Mata y from let's say Shanghai or from Fremont this could be one of those ways if actually starts off with a lithium iron phosphate model Y in Berlin that would be. Obviously, a lower end vehicle that may have specs more comparable to what Tesla's producing today and Fremont, and presumably soon in Shanghai on the other hand, it would be a little bit unusual for Tesla to start production with some of that lower and vehicle usually they start on the higher end that work their way down. So I think whichever way Tesla approaches it is going to have its own set of issues and that's going to be one of the most interesting things to see how it gets handled. Next year we'll set that aside for now I wanNA talk more about the production and the timelines. Year homers reaction to this on twitter I'm not GonNa read all of it here but basically, he said that you had sandbagged the presentation during battery died in terms of of the timelines and he replied to those tweets by saying quote prototypes or a piece of cake. A high volume production of a new technology is extremely hard takes much longer than people think to climb the production s curve I can't emphasize enough that production is by far the hard part and quote this was something that Yulon emphasized consistently throughout the day presentation saying that not all the stuff is fully functional yet in a full. High speed production type of way just working really right now in a pilot line and with somewhat low yields or not yields up to what they would like quite yet. So that's what Tesla is working on figuring out right now at that pilot line, and once they do that hopefully, they can expand the concepts used in that pilot line pretty quickly in Gigabyte Lynn but I think that is the uncertainty that remains if the main issue is yield, Tesla knows how to settle this stuff up and they can get some production out of it. They may just not be able to produce at a higher. Rate for some period of time until those yields improve, obviously it's going to be more capital efficient if Tesla can figure that out on the pilot line before expanding dramatically in. Giga. Burlington but it's not like it's a binary thing. There's a lot of new technology here a lot of different steps in this process that Tesla's working on making more efficient and I'm sure some of those advancements those new technologies are ready to go right now with high yields while others such as the dry battery electrode process will probably take tesla a little bit more time to perfect. But just because a part of that. Process is imperfect yet doesn't mean that there's not going to be any production. It just means that production is going to be constrained until TUSLA can improve that the other element here that we haven't talked about yet is what about Giga Texas it seems pretty clear that if did you, Berlin is going to be using the new cell right off the bat. Then Gig a Texas probably also doing the same as we've talked about the targeted date for first substantial completion forget Texas is may first twenty twenty one. So we put all that together. It seems like by Q. Three next year Tesla is aiming. To have these new cells being produced at three locations, the pilot line and Fremont Gigabyte Lynn and access. So let's breakdown how this all might fit together and how it might spread across various product lines and will start with a couple of points. Tesla. Made at Battery Day. So the first is the plan Tesla said that in twenty twenty two, they hope to produce one hundred gigawatt hours of battery cells in house. We also know that the pilot line in Fremont, they hope to get that to output of ten gigawatt hours per year. But over time they hope to have each assembly line be capable. Of An output of twenty gigawatt hours per year. So piecing all these things together, I've put together a hypothetical forty-six eighty battery roadmap emphasis on hypothetical because a lot of this is just guesswork at this point in time but hopefully, we can kind of use this as a starting point and have a discussion about it and slowly gain more confidence in this roadmap as time goes by. So to orientate those of you that are watching on video on the left hand side, I have the products and then a hypothetical average capacity for each battery pack inside of those products then I have a table with. The number of units from each location the Fremont Pilot Line Giga Berlin and Gigi Texas, and then a second table showing the amount of batteries that would be required in gigawatt hours for that level of production each year

But the top floor apartment rarely manages to keep an occupant. The each window that lines the wall is surrounded by cheery golden paint and Teal Trim. The Place Somehow always feels dark and closed in. Visitors find themselves assaulted by violent, but unseen forces, tortured cries and flying objects. There are no historical records confirming this quadruple homicide ever occurred but allegedly, there are property records that Saint Immigrant family did occupy the building. At some point it is likely the name stuck due to rampant xenophobic sentiment in Peru during the first half of the twentieth century. Japanese immigrants began coming to Peru at the end of the eighteen hundreds and their numbers grew in decades that followed. By the nineteen forties however anti-japanese rioting and protests broke out in Lima result of long-standing xenophobia and the pressures of World War, two. The idea of an East Asian, immigrant holding a property like Mukasa, Macho Sita would stick in the minds of xenophobic Peruvians. But the legends of dark happenings at Mukasa Mata.
