Expert Says U.S. Current Trend in Coronavirus Cases Isn’t Sustainable
"With us. Dr. John Wade CI, the professor of the Global Health Programme, professor of health system and policy program. And the director of the Center for Global Health College of Public Health and Human Sciences at Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. And Dr CI Welcome back to the Mark Mason Show. It's my pleasure to be back with you. Well, I'm glad to hear your voice again. I always use you is kind of our update into the really world of Corona virus. What's really going on and a lot has happened since we last talked. On that the virus seems to be more prevalent than ever. But we seem to be learning to live with it. I suppose one of the virus limits we can live with. I mean, we won't like it. But can we get by at this rate? No. We add a to high rate a TTE this great, many, many stay or counties there. Health care for city would not be able to 15 we We have to bring down because most European and Asian country at much lower levels, so they are able to lead you much higher level of activity, which we still cannot. And so if we maintain this high level or pandemic, it will hurt both our economy and people's life and health, and so we had to do something to bring it down to a much lower level. Wow. I don't know how we do that. The governor's talked about maybe travel restrictions. Is that one possible thing we should seriously look at where maybe people from high incident states are are not allowed to come where they if they do. Come there, quarantined. Well, it is. It's It's a good idea, in theory, but in practice will be very difficult to implement. Because he had to send lots of people to monitor to supervise and that costs money. So are you thinking another lock down or slow down? No, no, I think for the last Upfield. Early June, We duty our 2.5 months left town. And we see the serious impact on Mike, honey, and I don't think al economy can sustain more locked down. What we need to do is to learn how to live. Save it. How to operate our business. I work safety and one particular major. Uh, I know the difficulty but that's very critical measure, not just Oregon. But slowly, 90 states we were not able to implement and that is one of the biggest reason we are in this high level off epidemic. So remember in my early and Evi I mentioned that there are three step process. That's important. The first step is contact tracing. The second step is testing and so We're not doing a superb job, but we have the great improvement compare with March or April in term of the first step. But we still fail on the last step that is after the testing. What do we do with the confirmed cases So far, we only isolate people with moderate to see via symptoms. And completely neglected people with mild or no symptoms, and the latest studies, said just people with mild to know Simpson. They accounted for about 80% of total infection. But this 80% of total infection also, if we don't contain them, they also contribute to about 70 to 80% of new infection. Just think about this way. We pay attention to the Penta pus it with more moderate to severe symptoms contained them. But we let the other 80% continue to spread the virus free tea, and it will be a miracle if we don't have. Ah, hi. Hi. Cases continue to be in this house. How did we get more testing? I mean, we can barely my doctor tells me that he has no more tests because they've shipped him off to Florida and Texas and other states that need him. That's a problem I was comparing with Beck in March or April, Wright had done better dimension. We're not doing a super job during the testing as well, Well, I'm with you on the testing, and they and the containment. It's just a question of Why aren't we doing it? There are multiple reason one if people are still resisting the idea ofthe isolation and quality scene and the other financial Many Asian country. I don't know much about European country mediation country like Taiwan, they when they have a mandatory quarantine, isolation, government pay for the costs and company people. The example of Taiwan in their quarantine and isolation. Everyone who and the quarantine everyday received about equipment to certify us started per day for 14 days. So people who need to be quarantined need to be compensated because they lost income and we're not able to do that. I know we're on our financial crunch. So it's both financial reason but also political social reason, because people are not waiting. Yeah, I would have to be afraid, though. Doctors at the AA liberal Mike what would fake Corona virus just so he could sit at home for two weeks and get paid by the government? But there's you know, there's the question of you gotta have the test and it's got to come back positive. So I'm with you. I think a lot of listeners were with you test and contained testing contain, And maybe that's what they should be trying to come up with. In the way of money in Washington, D C right now, the World Health Organization says We should not expect a miracle where a vaccine is concerned. Are we being spoon fed in folded a cure A vaccine, If you will make may not be what we think it's going to be. So that I have some reservations because we still know ability to about the vaccine because there's no effective action available yet. I think I just saw the news. Russia has a plan to have a effective action by October, and we don't know how safe it is, but I think they're waiting between safe and effectiveness. For the U. S. I think the earliest might be the beginning of next year. And I cannot say anything about how effective it is because we haven't seen that yet. We don't know yet, but most likely given the nature of the disease, even an effective vaccine. The immunity may not last very long. If the image can last up to a year. That would be wonderful, but most likely will be somewhere between six months and 12 months. That means we may need to do more than one dose of
Twitter Hackers Arrested
"We have learned more about who's behind who is believed to be behind the twitter hack. And you know not some four. Powerful state-sponsored cybercrime gang, just A. we believe a seventeen year. Old Kid His name is all over the tech press. I heard you not wanting to say it on on, Mac. Breglio. So but I do have it in the show notes. To find it I mean. Yeah. You know I come from the School of journalism where you don't say the names of miners were accused of crimes, but apparently nobody else does that. So the AD the local Florida news channel. WFL talks Tim right away. They outed him as Graham Clark from Tampa Bay Florida. We. So they also. Suitably creepy, picture. Of Him. I know in fact in fact before. I reduced in size I. Actually had in the show notes. He looks a little bit like spock at so. got kind of a pointed ear. Is Little bit creepy. And, it's interesting too that his nick is Kirk. So Oh, maybe. Two Years Yeah. So Anyway the the the sad thing is this guy's life is now seriously sparked up. Yeah. He's been charged with felonies relating to computer communications and organized fraud for scamming hundreds of people using compromised account according to a press release from Hillsborough State Attorney. Andrew Warren's office. This guy Grab Clark. Now. Faces Thirty Felony Charges? So we have one count of organized fraud involving more than fifty thousand dollars, seventeen counts of communications, fraud of over three hundred dollars. One count of fraudulent use personal information. For an amount over one, hundred, thousand dollars or thirty or more victims. Ten counts of fraudulent use personal information and one count access to computer or electronic devices without authority and scheming to defraud. So in total thirty counts of felony charges, all of those felonies. So I mean I do feel like unfortunately, there's there's sort of a bit of. overreaction I, I, mean I get it that. This was not good and certainly that the law enforcement wants to send a message like don't do this even if you can Initially, the the initial announcement didn't indicate whether Clark had any partners in crime, but a few hours after the press conference announcement, the world learned that the US. DOJ had also filed charges against two other suspects believed to have helped Clark in this hack. The first of those was identified as Mason Shepherd who who's known as chair Juan nineteen years old living in Bognar Regis in the UK and the other is identified as Nima Fazackerley. Also known as Rolex twenty, two year, old residing in Orlando Florida. The US Attorney Anderson said there is a false belief within the criminal hacker community that attacks like the twitter hack can be perpetrated anonymously and without consequence today's charging announcement demonstrates thus I think an example has been meeting is being made. That, the elation of nefarious hacking into a secure environment for fun or profit will be short lived. Criminal conduct over the Internet may feel stealthy to the people who perpetrated, but there's nothing stealthy about it. In particular. He said, I want to say to would be offenders break the law Ed. We will find you please. So exactly the kind of thing hackers go. knows. That's GonNa, really scare me, I remember when I was a teenager. And in Fact Leo, did this did I? You know I was always a good kid. But oh, to be seventeen and have done Brazi network in front of me. Yeah. Yeah. Twitter early, fairly clever. Because, well, go ahead because it the way did it was kind of kind of interesting. Yeah. So for their part twitter disclosed a bit more about the nature of the attacks. They said that the that the phone based social engineering attack allowed the attackers to obtain the credentials of a limited set of employees, which then made it possible to gain access to twitter's internal. Internal Network and support tools although not all of those employees were who are initially targeted had permissions to use account management tools. The attackers you know apparently, just actually just Graham was able to use their credentials to then access twitter's internal systems and gain information about twitter's processes that expanded knowledge then enabled the attackers to target additional employees who did have access to twitter's privileged account support tools. Reuters also had reported something that I had not seen elsewhere, which was that as of Earlier. This year. More than a thousand twitter employees and contractors had access to twitter's in tools and could change user account settings in hand control over to others a thousand. And this was a key. To former twitter employees. Well as we know such widespread access makes it difficult if not impossible to defend against the sort of hacking that occurred.

Why Is There a Coin Shortage in America?
"At grocery stores, convenience stores and hardware stores across America. Curious signs are popping up asking customers to pay with credit cards, debit cards, or exact change. Is it because cashiers don't want to handle physical dollars and sense that could be contaminated with the coronavirus? nope. It's because the United States is currently experiencing a coin shortage. So? Where have they gone? America's pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters haven't disappeared. The covid nineteen pandemic has simply disrupted the normal cycle of coin circulation. According to the US Treasury, there were forty seven point, eight, billion dollars, worth of coins in circulation as of April twenty, twenty, which was actually four, hundred, million dollars more than April, two, thousand nineteen, but those coins are not moving through the economy like they should be. The Federal Reserve gives several reasons as to why this is happening. Banks and businesses nationwide closed their doors during the lockdown phases of the pandemic including cash and coin heavy sectors like convenient stores, public transit, and laundromats. The US mint also slowed its production of new coins during the early stages of the pandemic as staff was reduced for safety reasons. The men's Philadelphia and Denver Location's. Even as the economy reopened, consumers are opting for contactless payment and generally using less cash and coins. Meaning more coins are sitting at home in Mason, jars piggy banks, and under couch cushions. So. What does this mean? Retail stores are feeling the pinch of inconvenience and passing it along to their customers. The national, Grocers Association and several other retail industry trade groups sent a strongly worded letter to Federal Reserve Chair Jerome, Powell and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin in late June saying that the federal rationing of coin shipments to banks quote threatens the functioning of our member businesses and by extension the needs of our customers. In their letter, the group cited economic statistics showing that cash is still very much can in certain sectors and among certain consumer demographics, for example, between forty five to sixty percent of sales at grocery stores and convenience stores are cash payments, nearly half of all transactions of ten dollars or less are paid in cash and consumers with an annual household income of twenty, five, thousand dollars or less pay in cash for forty, three percent of their transactions. So what's the solution? The long term solution is to wait for the economy to return to normal at which point coins will naturally flow back into circulation. But in the meantime, the Federal Reserve and the US meant are taking action. The meant has ramped up coin production outpacing its usual one, billion coins a month with one point, two, billion coins in June and one point three, five, billion a month for the rest of twenty twenty, according to The New York Times. The Federal Reserve announced in June that it was rationing out its inventory by sending banks and credit unions smaller than normal coin shipments based on historical demand. The Fed also convened an emergency, US coin task, force composed of government and industry leaders including banks, an armored car companies. The task force is expected to come up with a set of recommendations by the end of. July. One of the task forces early accomplishments was to create the Hashtag get coin moving which banks and credit unions are plastering across twitter to encourage people to cash in their piggy banks to get more coins back in circulation.
Big Tech Funds a Think Tank Pushing for Fewer Rules. For Big Tech.
"Dig. Tech firms are schmoozing regulators into to not doing their jobs. Thirty four anti-trust officials were wined and nine last year by the global anti-trust into the suit, a part of the Antonin Scalia Law School at George. Mason University in Fairfax Virginia basically don't regulate us. Please enjoy this delicious meal. Global Antitrust Institute is funded mostly entirely by big companies affiliated foundations including Amazon Google qualcomm George Mason I covered it when I was at the Washington, Post they were always doing this kind of thing like putting up, you know. Being very friendly to corporate corporate citizens as I recall during this time when they were just getting started. Trying to attract a bigger level of professor there and so talk about this Mr Academics in terms of these things that get funded at universities, you institute Scott. Galloway Institute of Jabal Thank for example. That's right. like it's it's were. Universities are not immune from the lure of capitalism and a big component of. Your ability to get tenure is to get research funded, and it's difficult if you WANNA know. If. You WanNa. Know the outcome and a conclusion of research. Just find who's paid for it. Yeah, and in the case of most academic research. It's a lot of times it's funded. By nonpartisan sources are the university itself, and so if there is a a lease bad version of peer reviewed research, you're GONNA. Find it typically universities, but these think tanks if they're funded by. Certain And we have him on the left care we fund. We found groups to do research to basically support our know our narrative so i. don't think this is anything unusual. The question is abound power in that is. In addition to this think tank Sarah now more fulltime Amazon. Lobbyists making I would bet somewhere between four hundred eight hundred thousand dollars a year. Then there are sitting US senators now one hundred full time lobbyist from Amazon living in DC, taking all of these nice women and men to to golf into dinner and saying hey, we just a big fan of your leadership. We fight to get involved in your campaign by the way when this whole antitrust off comes up. We assume that you're you're for capitalism. Your four consumer lower consumer prices. And this is the danger, but I don't think these think tanks. We have on both sides nervous now whenever I time talking to one today and I was like Oh, where did you get your money? Like I never thought this like in terms of. The university and I was like I'm going to have to check in case, I'm. Saying something that sounded reasonable, but it was sort of like who's paying your bills and you know there was some controversy around some of this Kobe testing of where these these researchers have, it just feels like a lot of steph feels. Bogus like. It feels bogus when they're doing this and they're trying to influence, but I think many some universities are doing real research. Others are much more pay for play and I think that's that's really when I was a does. You've inspired her synapse farmer talking about this when I was? Five years into my Nyu Kerr invited me to a meeting where they were talking about doing some research about around financial markets and the impact on IPO's and They admitted meeting. And there was someone from the Nasdaq, and they were willing to fund it Funds Research and fund even fund center, and as one of the guys in the meeting Professor Bruce Buchanan who I think's one of the clear blue flame thinking economists in the world you know at the end of the meeting, said a not comfortable with the Nasdaq taking money. Money from the Nasdaq for research around the financial markets, because ultimately we're. GonNa end up saying that that the Nasdaq has the right you know. He just wasn't comfortable with private enterprise being injected into academic research, and then the meeting ended and I was like what the hell are you thinking? We have an opportunity to go great research here. Don't so pedantic. And as I've thought about it I'm wrong and he was right. Yeah, you can't help it. You can't help, but if they're paying for like all the smoking ones so much damage in terms of like smoking wants. We're like cigarettes aren't bad. That went on for a long time and Whatever the whatever the research is, it just seems like if it's cooked, it's cooked then. How do you pay for like the university should presumably just pay. Pay For right and live and die on the quality of the research, but that's sort of naive. I suspect you in the majority of about any sort of fifteen year overdue apology to a Professor Buchanan Vice. Chancellor Ingo Walter felt the same way that this was just. This creates too much opportunity for bias research so anyways. Net Net in it's a sample size of one, but Nyu takes that got role being a neutral arbiter very seriously. and. You have these funding you know. I'm thinking of all the different organizations are they seem like the like their criminal justice stuff Very Friedman! It feels like it's really good research right now, and that's the thing it's like who you have. They should at least be very clear about who's paying for it, so you know and and what they might turf. What what the what reports they might put in the drawer like the government is doing right now,
Trump will not visit Capitol to pay respects to civil rights icon John Lewis
"The world said goodbye to a civil rights icon in our nation's Capitol today and elsewhere, representative John Lewis honored in ceremonies at the Capitol. Talk about how that's impacting people where you are and what you saw, but it's hard to underestimate His impact on the civil rights leader. He was literally one of think a gang of six lieutenants under Martin Luther King back in the sixties, and at the time I think he may have been 25 26 years old Martin Luther King was only in his early thirties. When he gave his I have a dream speech, and we forget, you know, there's such towering figures were way think that they were much older than they were. And John Lewis died at 80 has had this incredibly long career. Hey, was beaten to within an inch of his life defending their right to vote and equal rights. For African Americans. This man is a hero. His bravery is is just breathtaking. One comment. I read from a colleague of his today and I was really taken with, she said. It was during the time of the hippies when John Lewis forever wore a three piece suit and carried a briefcase because he wanted to be taken seriously and thought to be ah, involved with important stuff. And you don't see that much anymore. And not only that, but hey also recalled that when he was arrested for civil disobedience, certainly not violence, but simply Protesting and using his first Amendment right to speak up. He always smile for the mug shot because he goes, I didn't do anything wrong. Why should I be doing anything about smiling here truly one of a kind of the benefit of all Americans then and now you go ahead and what's astonishing is that President Trump once again? Is not doing anything to pay his respects to this American icon. Hey, was asked, the president was asked if he was going to go up to the capital to pay respects to John Lewis, who was lying in state. They're one of I think only three African Americans to ever do that Rosa Parks. And Ah, uh, Thurgood Marshall. I think you were the other two. And he the president goes. No, I'm not going to no explanation. No comments about John Lewis. And, of course, he and John Lewis. We're not B f F S. John Lewis famously did not show up to the President's in all your old saying that he thought he was an illegitimate president. That he thought that he or at least the Russians did everything they could to get him elected and that it wasn't a legitimate presidency. He was going to attend the inaugural A good opportunity if nothing else, and this is a crass way to look at it to score some points. And we're all taught from a very early age. We show respect for those who have passed on it. It seems like an easy opportunity for the president take advantage of well. The president has not done that. For many leaders who died over the last couple years. John McCain, notably He did not was not invited to the funeral but didn't even bother to crash He was playing golf at his name escapes me now the congressman from Maryland who died another African American civil rights leader. Also had clashes with the president. He did not show up for that, then think I think the only major funeral that President Trump has shown up for was George H. W. Bush.
Premier League: Manchester United Qualify for Champions League
"Manchester United and Chelsea qualify for the Champions League. UNITED WITH A to victory over less than meanwhile Chelsea without win against walls sees all. You're going to show and frank. Lampard side make it into the top four less city, but let's not forget with fifteen points Clare of fifth on New Year's. They dropped the ball completely in twenty twenty and have to make do with Europa League football dodgson staving echo with us, stevie united with win on the season. You one of the harshest critics so all. He's proved you wrong, isn't he? Host you? Listen the. You, you can't see that. Qualifying for the champions. League is not success. For, all the Because as You know ended a day. I think the biggest and the main reason why the option because when transfer marquette. Bought Bruno Fernandes without that piece of business. This this would happen so listen. He always asked to coach the team and he obviously had a hand and say Bruno Fernandes Oh yeah as I said. It's success. I'm not convinced that he can take them from from. Champions League qualifies to actually vying for the title against Liverpool in city I still. The way way off and I still think they have to say more players, but yes, but all they get into the champions lease as a success. But he's had plenty of time. Your United Stat Dome. That now. All you early I mean they close form then they all Liverpool, which is incredible thirty two from Bouma. Thirty three away from Liverpool, and it's not the right time in because I think that the well getting into jump and say those incredible finish I agree with Stevie. Bruno Fernandes doesn't come in. At this, all thing is that. Is Jason for Non Stop the season? Why did they wait until John? Rudy Sunan done I will never ever. No nothing deserves credit ease. That's big name. Players go shifted the dynamic inside the dressing room. He's might young is made them hungrier. There have been assigned to watch is not too many egos at the football club anymore, and you have a job on the summer. Trying to convince big plans like will stay on. And then chartwell tracked maybe three or four plans to try and give him so titled Till Next Season Way to they need to add to the squad don. I was still like say them. With a recognized number nine I get the argument where people think that Mason Green was going to lead the line, and maybe the could bring in some more to plan the rights on side because I'm not convinced marcial. Yet again I think the such a good player net. He's not consistent enough. And Watching Higher Maguire today and Victor Lindelof as a pair. I mean less than without James Madison. Pereira without Soyeoun shoe without some of their very best players, another about that was missing volley at Indiana Joe Coast to center offs problems time after time after time, and this under-strength less decide so I would like to see, and if they all going to try and compete again can get closer to the city. Liverpool in my opinion, need Weltklasse Center

What are these tools that you can share with us? Honestly tools are. I kinda Geek out on tools. I'm in general I'm kind of a software nerd. NERD had an assistant who came to me once and said you know. Will I feel like you are an individual? Who is the Tony Stark of software? Like you're? You're just in the middle of all of the tools, so I'm going to mention a couple here and I'm GonNa give you like a one liner. Here's the tool. Here's why I love it. So, honestly, the one that's kind of up on my screen right now and so it's kind of in my face is slack and I find that a lot of Amazon sellers haven't adopted slack yet, and the reason I think a lot of them haven't adopted. Slack yet is because they haven't realized how inefficient email and just regular Google hangouts is. I find a lot of people using skype to communicate with their with their as your different individuals that way I love slack and its ability to create channels to create a context where everything goes. Basically, it's an instant messaging platform that allows you to do direct messages back and forth between individuals, and then it allows you to create public and private channels where you can discuss things like key metrics that the businesses going on, and it gives. Gives you a way to keep the context of the conversation going so for example we have a slack channel access needs and anytime someone needs access is something they go into that channel. They Post. Hey I. Don't have access to this Amazon seller central account. How do I get access? And then we go through that process to to figure out exactly what that looks like an and get it where it needs to go if that makes sense. Absolutely I'm just discovering. Slap myself. I'm very guilty of using. skype is the primary meeting for communicating with Va's and. It's OK until you get to the point where you try and dig into some information from weeks ago and then it comes. That's the thing like I'm short video about this. Did I even tell you about the? What was the link for that again? And then you nightmare? You described so elegantly before. Say Anything that helps you get organized. Upfront is a great thing for sure so my. Virtual Assistant. I when we use like I have an entire channel dedicated to the video. That I create for her so I've I've I use a another tool. WE'RE GONNA mentioned hair called screen cast, defy and screen cast if records videos and drops those videos into Google drive folder us another tool called. Zap, beer to automatically pick up those videos and push them into a specific slack channel so anytime a record video i. literally title it in a certain way pops it out into the Slack Channel and tells her what she's supposed to do with it a minor. That is just loving this. Because I use screen falsifying. I've used got a lot of videos on. There are US or got slack now of it up I haven't really been vigorous into my stuff I'm like Oh. Wow, I could do that I can say totally see how that would save me that. The assistant 'cause batsman three days and guys Mike, whereas all yeah got to send it. T- sorry. This is behind the. Title to get up and so I've got it. Set up now so if I don't put the word in all capitals private in the title of the video, it automatically goes to my va, and says hey. I was too lazy to title this, so please Bug me about what this video's even four and where it should go, so if I record a video, it goes to her period unless i. I write in all caps in the title private. Zapper is totally capable of listening for that word private and be like. Oh don't send this to her. So if I wanted to like, make video from partners, talking about everybody salaries or something like that I wanted to be a little more private. A totally could do that and I made Zap, Zapper drop it into a channel and away it goes and. And then I'm not hunting through a thread of threads imagine how much conversation goes back, and forth between me and my executive virtual assistant, its way to have channels man I would be in all sorts of trouble, so I try to use direct message communication with another individual I. Try to define those channels and say this is information that we're probably not going to need again. This is about chatter about. About. What's going on if I have information that we're going to need to look up again? I try to create a channel the to associate with that client, or whoever else it is, so we've got a lot of channels. Assist I'm not going to get a bit overwhelming I? Guess, but at least it's a lot less everyone undifferentiated stuff. Okay, so we got slack. Go Screen! Falsify because up here. What else your faith tools, so another one is the tool we're using right now to communicate zoom and a lot of people have heard of zoom, but maybe it will especially now they've probably heard of zoom, really powerful, very stable tool in terms of of video calls and getting face to face with people and getting some of those other pieces out of the way I just really appreciate. How stable is they've run into their growing pains, but even with the growing pains. It's outpaced several others that I've used.

Control of the body with the mind
"Today? We take on a luck at the medicine mystery of mind over matter, a mind over matter can be the control of the body with the mind. This might include controlling blood pressure or the rate of a heartbeat. Some monks are able to dry out wet towels by controlling their body heat. That is what usually is described as a placebo effect believing that they can do it so strongly that they can try out those wet towels. Placebo is an inert substance or belief which produces real biological effects in humans. It's so widely accepted as fact. A placebo variable included most medical tests as way of proving if say. Say A. Drug works on its own merits, or because people think it works. There are tons of experiments showing the proof of the Placebo, one of the most amusing to watch the test done by a group of Princeton students who decided to throw a Non Alcoholic Keg party for their unsuspecting classmates. The experiment who secretly filled a keg with Oh duels contained, which contains about point, four alcohol while regular beer has five percent alcohol, and then watched as their peers acted silly slur words slept on the ground, generally acted drunk, although it stereo impossible to get in toxic donald tools. These college students had such a strong belief. They were drinking standard beer that it affected their behavior. Then, there is a level of creative mental imagery that affects the physical body for an example. We look at a prisoner of war during the Vietnam Conflict Air. Force general colonel. Hall was locked a dark North Vietnamese prison for seven years most would have lost their mind. In such circumstances hall went into his happy place by mentally playing golf. Every day of his imprisonment is visualizations were extremely in-depth, included everything from hitting the ball off the tee, raking the sand traps, feeling the wind, and of course tapping the ball into the hole. Regardless of being weak and hundred pounds lighter than before his capture, one of the first things hall wanted to do after his release was play a legitimate round of golf, he was invited to the greater. New Orleans open for he astoundingly shot a seventy six, so despite his physical deterioration, not stepping on coercion over seven years his body had developed muscle memory day. Day simply on his imaginings mind over matter it's usually dismissed like deja Vu and the paranormal, but many years ago, I witnessed a lesser known form of mind over matter. I've been involved in the martial arts for over fifty years. One point in my training schools, black belts were invited to witness an example of Chee Courses Costas about eighty dollars each there were. Were about twelve of us, essentially, Chee is a life force. It exists in the human body in the martial arts. There are many stories of men who could control their cheat to the extent that they could ward off strikes or even extend she to knock over an opponent. Needless to say I was very skeptical. I was in my mid twenties at the time. Time, we were gathered in the schools large back room and told a former circle. I watched as an Asian man who looked to be in his fifties. Walk into the room. He was smoking drinking coffee from a Styrofoam Cup, he dumped coffee into a corner planter. He also ground out his cigarette. He walked to the centre of the circle placed his cup on. On, the floor upside down through our instructor, he expressed that he wanted one of the students to pick up the cup. A young black bolt directly across from me, was chosen and step forward data over and over the cup, but total a Mason said he couldn't pick up the cup all the while watching I determined that. If I was chosen, I'd fall on. On the Cup indeed was picked I stepped to the center of the circle, and at a signal from sense I extended by hand, proceeded to fall, figuring to catch myself and even push up position. The end result was that I. could not touch the cup. Indeed, our guests could not only control his chee. He was a master of mind over matter referring of. Of course to his ability to control bodily function

Woodbine Revised 2020 Stakes Schedule Starts Tomorrow
"Colony. What's being? Was Our industry starved the week presented by Stuart. Morris Equine Forum tomorrow morning, eight to ten am eastern time serious to nineteen excellent to a one stream it live horse racing radio. Dot. Net all right up at woodbine couple of stakes, races, tomorrow, Mile, and a sixteenth greed, three trillium on the all weather up there We. Get a field of eight phillies and mass. To Go The eight and a half furlongs. This was a tough one. I thought body. There's a lot of wage going here. Yeah I'M GONNA take a little bit of stab here. I'm I'm wondering. If number one super escape can steal this race. To me. It looks like she's the only true speed in the field. Maybe number seven another time WHO's shown. Very moderate speed at times, but I think if they break evenly. Super Escape is faster. She's been sprinting. Relax too I think she's better routing than she is sprinting. In fact, she's two for two on non turf surfaces. Atta Mile and a sixteenth including one for one on the all weather at Woodbine. She's got the inside post I think she's going to get out and go and her good racers good as anyone else. She's ten to one on the morning line one. I'd be most afraid of is number. Three art of almost Herat Field Emma Jayne Wilson Mason last time out. On the turf at Woodbine and She's run well on turf, or on the all weather axes been in the money, all four starts on the all weather at Woodbine, so I would expect art of almost to be the one who's closing most at super escape. I'm an both of them, but super escape at ten to one interesting. Nice price is price even better prices being at home The Keep in mind by the way the seven another time cross entered in the royal north, so we'll see where trainer Barbara minshull decides to run her daughter of money. She's cross entered in the very next race. That will talk about a minute or so here Like you I wanted to go a little bit of a different direction here I'm GonNa take the six painting for Josie Carroll. Who stretching out of for the first time old for races have been sprints. She's closed nicely. And all those Frenchies by distorted humor out of an AP in the mayor can't imagine a stretch out. It's GonNa hurt her 'cause probably bring her into the race a little earlier as well I I I thought she was a little interesting in he I. Don't know why she hasn't been lot that bugs me. All know why she hasn't been long yet in her career, but I will I'll try and get painting turns Josie. Carroll trains dollar store. Store, Jim, the six painting from me in the trillium race number nine grade to royal north six furlongs. On the turf, the outer EP Taylor Turf Course. Again. We'll see what another time does she to one in the trillium? She's five one of the morning line in this royal north we had a field of nine depending on graduates. And I leaned a number five sister peacock once again thought she might be the speed of the speed. She's got a win. Third Place Finisher tour credit in two tries on the turf at Woodbine.

"What a great weekend. We got a lot to get to people as Chris mentioned off the top there. Anthony Davis dropped fifty the Lakers the best record in the NBA Mason Party a tremendous success. Fun It was really. We'll we'll talk about about that. The Rams Win and look like the old rams you don't want it yes there now team. Nobody wants to play. Everyone's dreading if they get in in. We hope we don't have to play the rams five or still alive and and then there's mythical money yeah how about this. This this is great. This is shocking. Going down to the Y.. Okay so every year at the beginning of the year right at the start of the in January we each give we each get one hundred thousand dollars and mythical money Yup and the goal of the game is just finished with more than the other two guys it is. Greg Bergman skeeve Mason and meet me Yep and we just beck all year on anything you can bet on anything for twelve months Friday Greg. How much money did you have on Friday? Two hundred and forty four thousand dollars and how much money did I have on Friday six thousand okay. So Bergman is Nile Nile eating US and he's been killing us all year. Long Mason went out on the first game Saturday morning. Home of Baylor. Yeah Right Oklahoma Loma minus the night so mason finishes with what Greg five hundred dollars okay. Bucks out of the hundred thousand Mesa has five and then because Greg was so far ahead of me I had to bring back. My history is the parlay king. Yeah I had to try a hail Mary of of a parlay. That was so ridiculous that if I hit it I catch Bergman and if I don't I finished with literally one dollars yes it's I needed I did the math. I needed six teams to and what does it pay. If I hit Greg pays to I need to look. It's like two hundred in seventy eight thousand dollars. What one thing that gets me to pass per yup and then Bergman because I credit you for this because you're a good sport you did not sit on your lead and make no oh betts? You tried to put me out by. They winning yeah winning big Bet and what lost it for you. I lost in the first one ever my I bet was I lost the Rams I lost. I lost on the raiders. I lost on Buffalo. Okay so so you finish with what I one hundred and one thousand in the black. Okay I just wanted to be in the black. I didn't care about the rest but my hail Mary. There were three games in the morning and I go three for three and I'm thinking well I'm only halfway there and the way parties working. She gotta hit them all so in the afternoon. I bet against the raiders because I think Tennessee's the hottest team in football yep. Tennessee blows out the raiders. And and I'm four for four now. I need the Rams I bet on the ramps rams I am five for Ron here on Thursday. Do you know the rams were fezzes. Best of that. I didn't even know that. So here's as it did last year when it boiled down to mason an eye on the final final weekend of the year Mason Mason Slash show Yup for the month of December. He's leaving. You're going someplace exotic and Costa Rica so mythical money ends tonight at six o'clock six no say whenever the Monday night game in there is no you. Can't you bet outside..

"There's so many stories like that in ramona's podcasts that are unbelievable. I have a great donald. Sterling story involves a super bowl party <hes> and a couple of my friends who are now at the time they were small radio operators now they're big radio operators and they're like my age so i used to hang with them all the time <hes> at super bowls and we probably kick back a few we ended up at some party was like a c._b._s. Sports party and donald and shelly sterling are there and my buddy who is he's. He's big in in the radio. Industry is dad was a big time. Media guy and he says is to me after a few drinks. I'm gonna convince donald sterling to allow you to be the spanish play by play voice of the clippers and we're just you know pretty drunk laugh. He walks right up to him and he's like hey i'm so and so you know you know my dad blah blah blah and he's like oh yeah whatever he's like. Here's my friend george saddam. He's like he needs to be your play by play guy you're in l._a. It's hispanic and he's like well. We got to play by play guy and he's like what about spanish play-by-play and he's like. Do you do spanish plan. I'm like yeah sure at this. I never had no of course not and then so we're talking and he's literally like negotiating this deal with donald he's like seems intrigued right weird and then shelly pulls me aside aside and she goes where are you from and she was from and i said i live in miami and she's like miami she goes. Do you know lamar owed and go. He had just signed the and i go. I said yeah i just met him. Recently she goes is he still smoking marijuana. I don't know man. I'm gonna tell him that well. That was like my introduction to the sterling's. I worked. I worked for the clippers for four years and i have probably five scurried downstream for each year. I was there. I mean literally. That's that's been. A lot of people have used that particular one but we're going to discuss that. Ninety chinese food restaurant in in seinfeld comes to mind. That's a good one two seinfeld. "Rodriguez. Maybe the great example that doesn't swell in nineteen eighty <hes> sometimes you see position players come up rookies and they'll have an impact toward the end of the year but the idea of calling up a catcher a rookie catcher to basically become the number one guy to take over a veteran staff for eighteen world series expectations this is not you know some fringy team this is is it team that's world series or bust and a hand the reins over to somebody that young as far as i can see looking back through baseball history it's never happened this late in the year and it says so much not only about you know his defensive skills which from talking with his college coach last week and <hes> evaluators basically been present since he was in high school not only about his offensive improvement which has happened gradually over the last three four years but it's also about his maturity and the name that keeps popping up time after time after time when i talked with evaluators <hes> is buster posey they say he's an buster posey and it's not only about the size and the skills skills but it's also about the demeanor and i know you sat him on the phone the other day <hes> and you could tell he he's very serious. He's all business. He's very bright by all accounts. He is tremendous accurate. Clayton kershaw was very complimentary about that but he he's not someone who speaks because he wants everyone to hear his voice. He speaks weeks when necessary and he's very serious about his work and he's got a lot of responsibility on his shoulders and says a lot about that. The dodgers entrusted him with the situation that he's again now and he can get a table at nobu anytime he wants to. Hey i says will smith probably that probably we're talking to buster on the okay okay buster. The angels haven't been getting a lot of fanfare their their season kind of spiraled after the the tragic death of tyler skaggs. They've really been unable to put it together so this week they called up. Joe adele and michael lives in orange county said if you seen joe adele play eddie said no singer buster. I don't think most people full have seen this kid play. He's twenty. He's the same age mike trout was when the angels trout. What do you know about joe adele that he's going to be a monster player <hes> that he is going to be someone who's going to be <hes> mike trout swing man for years to come and he's he is a high impact that guy. He's a tremendous athlete. He looks like <hes> middle linebacker playing baseball <hes> you know where it is incredible physicality and it's interesting this thing but when trout's signed last spring and everyone are so many in the you know the national media a lot of fans were like why would he consign himself to losing for years to come and i i laughed because i had gotten a chance to see joe adele play and i was like nah he he's going to have some good players around him and joel <hes> wherever tried hits in the lineup moving forward to whether it's continue staying the two spot joe. L. is going to be right next to him. At some point how good he is. Buster looks like a small market team like kansas city who the owner paid. Hey ninety six million dollars for is announced marketing some. Somebody's gonna buy for one billion dollars. Does this inspire other owners the cash in when they see what kansas the city's going for i do think that <hes> you know look. It's not only the royal it's actually over one billion dollars what <hes> what i'm hearing during <hes> believe it or not <hes> and we saw the marlins who have been a disastrous franchise in terms of their success in terms of their attendance and they sold for what over a billion dollars dollars and you know..

"How close are we to automatic. Balls strike calls michael. I think that that's something we're going to see after the next labor agreement and we've talked about how the the relationship between the union and major league baseball's that's probably at its worst since i started covering baseball thirty years ago <hes> and there's a big mountain to climb in actually getting an agreement but it wouldn't all surprise me if that's part of what's discussed i <hes> that among many other issues at the you know the two sides agreed to go to a a robo strike zone. I personally <hes> look look. I mean if you're an umpire you don't want part of your profession taken away but i do think it would improve <hes> improve the product because we saw situations last night. We're just invert burland is unhappy with the strike call and he complains and there's an injection and <hes> every game that you watch now. If there's a borderline call the goes against a hitter he goes in looks at the video starts screaming at the empire i mean after a while that that stuff gets kind of tired and wanted to move along so so if the players association precision took a poll with the players in favor of going to automatic strike zone i believe so i and i and i only basis loose very loosely off <hes> a lot of conversations with players through the years. I think it'd be like eighty twenty because they're feeling in favor of <hes> a robo strike zone because i think they're feeling is is is that they just want. You know if the pitch that's <hes> you know one one pitch. That's just two inches off. The plate is called the strike. They hate increasing land players. <hes> just hate the idea of losing that advantage and they just want the strike zone to be called as accurately as possible and let's face it. These are human beings behind the plate and every game. We're gonna see stakes made buster. I've always this the speed the game up the purest greg bergman yell at me and tell me i'm an idiot but how about this. I always thought baseball game the relievers down there warming up for twenty minutes when when the manager calls them in why does it take eight war pitches. Why does this throw the first pitch and go i well. I think the rationale they would tell you who is that they want some warm up pitches to get used to the mound on in the middle of a diamond. It's funny because through the years of so many pitchers telling me that yeah while you have the groundskeepers who maintain the the mound in the middle of the field are the same ones who do the mounds in the in the bullpens sometimes the mounts can be different and so they just want that time time for adjustment but when baseball has talked about in a different ideas for speeding up the game your ideas one of the that has been discussed. I don't think it's probably at the top of the list. It's probably number four five and i wouldn't be surprised at some point if they actually do come up with some sort of adjustment to reduce the number of pitches at the pick guys take when they go out there. We're talking with e._s._p._n.'s buster. Only who was in los angeles over the weekend dodgers yankees sunday night at the ravine buster we will smith with the new dodger catcher on the show monday and i guess the best way to describe it is whatever it is he has it. You can tell talking to him. He's just he's gotta make up about him. He's next johnny bench well. Here's my question buster. I think they threw him in there at catcher because it was their best option. Austin barnes earns wasn't hitting russell. Martin was a little banged up but he's played so well. I'm wondering is is he won. The job is the experiment experiment over in your opinion. Yes and what we're seeing. The dodgers doing with will smith is basically unprecedented in baseball history. Okay <hes> because you know we've seen relievers. Come up at the end of the season have an impact francisco rodriguez..

"No no no michael. He goes to play the giants. They probably like twelve percent over there. You get paid for where you play. What comes to call it. That doesn't sound right michael no this you have to file tax return turn. I do you or your accountant does he. You're you're you're a one percenter your community okay so for example. You and i filed tax returns. We have to a file. We have to fill out a w. Two in pennsylvania and new york and floor will not florida and texas tech's but in georgia and in in utah and in oregon and you know anywhere because that's where we did the work so we have to for that game we have to pay. Hey taxes in that state so elliott's making say one hundred thousand game. He's got to pay thirteen thousand dollars for that game and then when he goes to new york's i gotta give another twelve for that game when he goes back to texas. He gets it all yeah. That's how it works so when you go so but but michael steele he gets eight home. I'm game in dallas so he does make more money but i always hear that for m._b._a. Players like they say well. If you go to texas you. Could you know it's going to be much less. What's going to be for forty one games. It's going to be last <music> but when they play the kings of the warriors of the clippers the lakers they get taxed. They text us like you and i do so it's not a it's not as it is a significant tax advantage but it's not as big as as they might make it out to be now. Do you believe we're talking about a lot of numbers and mumbo jumbo do you. I believe ezekiel elliott will be in uniform anytime during the first two weeks of the season. Are they gonna play a couple of games without him. <hes> like talking about the day they got until next wednesday before of course horsa opening weak opening sunday so he thinks wednesday's kind of like the bottom line if he's going to play in week one <hes> so would you throw them out. There would season preseason. A lotta guys haven't played look at the rams guys in practice. He's been working out in. You know he's a now hob- oh yeah. He's a four year veterans so he knows what he's doing so yet. Put them right away. I think it'll get resolved before week. One dollar like he said this morning in keyshawn knows football anybody else around you times a million he he says it's all about a couple of million dollars probably usual bet mortimer. I say he will not be in uniform will euro and one dollar. I nine did not think he will be there when and they roll that around i it just doesn't make any sense for either side to cave now because they opened up against the giants. They meet the giants without ezekiel elliott in dallas. I'd have to look that up. I think it might be in new york coming up next buster olney e._s._p._n. Top baseball guy buster was here on sunday. He worked the <hes> the yankees dodgers dodgers series and so we could talk to him about that and everything else going on in baseball and we're about twenty minutes away from fast track michael information e._s._p._n..

If our situation i was very happy where i was. I will take a little less to stay so we can keep the core together to continue to win rings. That's what i would do but it all depends on how much less if he's asking if if elliott asking for seventy five over four years and they come back with forty over four years that's too big a gap so you gotta be able to meet somewhere in the middle. What is being reported is that elliott has been offered a deal that would make him. The second highest paid running back in the n._f._l. More more than living bell but less than tied goriest around fifty that you know when you factor in the economics of it ireland and this is important to that that comes into play even window elliot will make a slightly less than girly. He's going to take home more pay than girly because he lives in a note income tax state for state state state income. Tax growing is paying thirteen percent on his salary so even though he comes on a little less than girl. He's actually making more money. I'll take it home more money than girly so you got a factor actor in texas. No state taxes rule to if if elliott says i'm not gonna play in texas and goes play a safe for the giants or in some other the office ten to fifteen fifty percent of state taxes you actually losing money so he's going to let me make an important point is only gonna count but let me make important because i count everybody else's money yeah about what you just said ou they you know but i don't think most of our audience knows it's not as the big of a tax advantage as it sounds like here's why why even you and i as broadcasters get taxed where where we do the work day but you so you and i have but that's they only play sixteen weeks a year if they make it to the playoffs and go up to twenty and then you know they near notice guys playing the preseason so for example when ezekiel elliott came and played in the first round against it was the second round against the rams last year in the playoffs the tax thirteen percent for that week because he played that week salary correct because he played that much yeah michael for me and you if you you and i you and i have to file taxes in all the states where we do games. It can't be that much ireland no otherwise he won't be bringing any money..

Thompson matt untried coach mt coach good to talk to you about it says an honor a big fan of yours and you know you talked about your son having stuffed animals always wondered is about you. Everybody calls you chucky. Do you talking doll in your office or home that you talk to. I got a bunch of different chucky dell's man. I put them all over the place. I hang up like people hang up. Take a look at that chucky down greet them with the face nod for about five minutes back and forth they will admit sometimes they not back doc. We're talking to the coach of the raiders as we do every wednesday after hardback now coach was a weird game you go up to canada and the end zones are unsafe so you play on an eighty yard field. What was that like. It's a little shorter mant through your skull irishman what's going on there. You're mess with me. Aren't you you. You're not you're like me right. "S._e._c. added martin matt bark is going to be a new quarterback. I always thought why go to u._c._l._a. Incorporate a starter over there as a freshman right so that's the way i always think of these young blue-chip quarterbacks why why go somewhere place if you knocked on everyone believes they can go someplace going into a program. I'm going to beat that guy to start a once. You get there and you realize he's the same class as me and he's going to be golden. Boy i gotta go and play someplace else in the transfer portal is not without risk once you once you enter into the transfer portal u._s._c. than gives your for scholarship to someone else and you waiting and looking around correct and if you don't get one i guess if you're that good you gotta get one site. Thank some other school like i say most scholarships or spoken for. They've got to figure out drew. You know they got to figure out somebody's got to bring him in for next year yeah and and he goes in into into this report on sees what happens. I agree with you. I if it were me i don't wanna go someplace and since baseball cap yeah. I want an opportunity unity play even if it's a smaller school think especially exactly especially when you think you've got n._f._l. Caliber talent and so you gotta go play so who it was out of. The quarterback matt cassel another problem. He just sat on the end of the bench and he got to the n._f._l. And carved out a career but for the most career was just sitting there watching yeah and i. I think you only have one college career. If you're going to go and just sit the whole day coaches try and spin it well they should they should stick with their commitment and try and beat the guy out coaches who stick with their commitment. Take the next best job yeah. That's what i was just going to say. I i liked to transfer. It wasn't there when you were there. If you were at minnesota <hes> and you wanted to leave they would have made you pay for it with a year of eligibility. Gotta sit out but now that's no longer if you if you transfer you can play right away. No matter what on was if he i think he in the case of sears he's going to have to wait and play next year but jalen hurts played last year for alabama who went into the trance reportable and that he's the starting quarterback this year for oklahoma. Which i approve of russell wilson did that was at n._c. State and he left to go to wisconsin. <hes> and i'm i'm in favor of it coaches to it all the time. Actually why shouldn't players exactly should not sit. I should be able to transfer and play right away college. Weren't you michael well. <hes> yesterday you had in fasttrack had the question over why carli lloyd is not taking up her offered. Yes kicker vicar tonight to make tomorrow to learn how to make history the aesthetical place on stupid useless friendly game against portugal that means nothing whatever's a preseason exhibition one local n._f._l. Player has suggested that if carli lloyd takes up the n._f._l. On their offered that she will get trampled old. We'll tell you who it is next michael thompson information. "Plate. How'd you hear what the guy says well he did and even if you do your job is not to affect the game in any way possible. It's just invert lander. You can walk out there after the inning and or you're you're standing right next to the doctor and you say hey if you're if if greg's pitching and michael. You're the catcher in the empire acquire. I would say michael. I heard what great just said about me and you've got to get to him. I don't want to throw them out but this is a warning. I'm warning you and him if he does that to me again. He's outta here rather than just throw you out greg simon ward winter. You're going to the hall of fame. People pay to see you. I don't get this yeah. Justin verlander said it best when he said you know they're. They're there to try and ease the situation instead of making it worse but i mean think about it when you're let's say you and your wife are having an argument and you walk out of the door and you start walking away from renew. Call her the b word which i didn't say you would ever do but you said something crazy like that bet she would get hit this g._b. So angering that would escalate it even more so than he shouldn't have kept going saying the things that he was saying even with your back turned it doesn't matter but the empires there to de-escalate not to elevate by the way if i'd etiquette in the head with a tennis right exactly referees a too too much into power trips. They think it's all about them and it couldn't be further not about at them. Here's the thing if i was an official in and these guys have hard jobs michael. We know you and i know some of these <hes> n._b._a. Officials integrate geysers two or three of them you plating blading it's leeann would exactly and workman but all these guys bill spooners great guy mccutchen who we know pretty well who's now gone up to to an advisory advisory role with the league. Money's a great guy but i if i was a referee i swear a guy would have have to grab me physically before it throw him. There's nothing he could say and at some point. If i felt like he had crossed the line i would say to him it michael enough yeah i've had it. We're not talking about this anymore. I don't wanna throw you out but i will if you keep going. Do you understand me but they don't go to that concede. Some guys will do it. They'll give warning and you know but you're right. If i was a refereed a guys use the f. word to criticize my call. You know it didn't agree with me on a call. I'd say okay calm down. Calm down now if you if you just keep going and going and going with all the fascinating obviously you gotta throw him out but i give them a warning. It's it's an emotional game. Guys got a lot in the line a lot of pride on the line sometimes the plan bad. They're in a bad mood and he may say the wrong thing. It's just give them a warning. Calm down in this in more than anything else. This is an entertainment product base wasn't entertainment product so i don't get to watch justin turner play now because an empire feelings hurt. Oh that's the worst also nine nothing in a six in the sixth inning where they were just destroying right. It was a beatdown right didn't matter he went done well vert yeah but virtually under was pitching a shutout. He would have probably been lost the game all right coming up next mason used to say mason and i both used to say if we if we ever came unprepared for a day of shows all we would have have to do in the first five minutes say all right. Why did the two thousand lakers break up. Shacks fodder. Kobe's your calls does next and it would be like every line to our checking..

"C._b._s. Too at noon noon on sunday they got about fifteen thousand people that game <hes> yes the crowds in johnson's been great now all right so michael have you toward the morning show drew rosenhaus for those you haven't heard it this is it play curtis the morning showing the important questions asking them burning questions and committed to asking crew rosenhaus how he's doing drew good morning. How are you good morning. Good morning andrew aw early in the morning andrew good yeah yeah you know working hard kim john morning show with keyshawn l z and travis drew good morning. How are you weekday mornings from six to ten one andrew how are you. I just ran into morales in the hallway. He told me that to unedited really he didn't netted they. All asked drew rosenhaus in a row drew. How are you doing it over and over. I'm still annoyed that that is the most spectacular robo ever when mason i were doing morning shows you are literally half awake so you don't necessarily hear what the person next to you is saying saying it obviously all three of them ignored each other that is osso bucco. I mentioned big three and basketball speaking of basketball u._s._a. Lost in australia over the weekend for the first time since two thousand six. It's snapped a seventy eight game streak now obviously the best n._b._a. Players are not on this team. Almost everybody turned it down. Probably the best player in the team would be kemba walker occurs. You agree yeah. He's the best player so keeping that in mind now they came back. They rebounded with a win over canada and now the head over to china and the tournament is next week. Kyle coups aspect aspect kuzina second but who's got hurt and so he's coming home. He's not going to be on the team. Are they. Gonna win this. They're still the favorites. It's if you look in vegas but australia beat them. Patty mills had thirty points. Does the u._s. have enough firepower to win this tournament. Yeah i believe so so. I think they will loss it in australia. Even though it was just you know exhibition game just was show. I think that will come up and at mayo realize that these other countries are bleeding. They can't beat them and <hes> <hes> they came out and destroy kennedy today canada's have any n._b._a. Places for just cory joseph on it but serbia is going to be serbia. Spain and australia will be the toughest competition asian but i think that loss in australia woke him up. I asked this question yesterday. When brian was here brian kennedy. I can't decide how i feel feel about. Coups being sent home on one hand. I'm really disappointed because he was playing really well and it would have been fun for him to be on the team on the other hand. I'm kind china glad if he has any injury issues that he's coming home and he's going to rehab it rather than going to china twice in two months because remember the lakers offers are going to china go to china to travel tough ireland well thirteen hour flight and first-class. It's like living in an apartment in the first class. Okay okay so keep in mind michael l._a. Australia australia back yeah l. a. china lease l._a._n. Back l._a. To china and again elliott china tobacco tough out pilots do it. Well wait a minute. This season starts right after that later. I'm really excited about kuzina this year. I think in that first game australia when he went four out of five three and played really well. I think who's going to have a monster season as a laker fan. I'm not only it bummed out. He's got a wrote. The china wait a minute what they weren't any of the real players play on no they. I think they made a mistake not go. Uh-huh hurt durant gets a break recovering. Whoever thought guys who are healthy tyree going yeah. I thought all the guys who are healthy and in the any league players should be there. It's it's fun to collect these gold medals. You're not going to be doing it forever. <hes> i i would. I would recommend they do it. I've been around team u._s._a..

Fouling dismiss three strikes in route. You do something stupid again. After this. I hate to throw them away especially ebbets nonviolent. Just throw them away but i don't know i mean it is a good question ireland. If you let me tell you why i'm not talking about somebody assault somebody obviously absurdly if he puts his hands on some on a woman or beats up a woman or something then you gotta go but if it's something that is non violent and just stupid to just throw them away i don't know i guess i'd give him another chance but he'd have to go through some kind of some suspension i i talked to the president of school. Talk to the athletic director. What do you think is <hes>. <hes> you know obviously he has to go through due process. He's got to go through the courts but because they found an illegal gun in his possession <hes>. I guess that's pretty <hes> pretty obvious what was going on. There and i say okay <hes> mister a._d. Mr president of the school. What should we do how long to suspend. I don't want to just dismiss it from the team and put on a st. Maybe some of the school. I pick him up but we don't know so. What do you think they they say half a season that's fine. You know who agrees with you. <hes> let me think somebody walks. I'd be surprised yeah okay then. I gotta think about who let's see someone who was surprising agrees with me. I'm trying to think of the grumpiest man sports nick sabin correct. Here's how here's the gropius man is board. Here's why i brought it up. There is a video making the rounds. It's kind of been given new life over the last few days about the fact that we now live in in an area in an era where if a kid of college kid makes a mistake something like marijuana physician island nonviolent that everyone is clamoring to get rid of these kids kick them out of your program program that blah blah blah. Nick sabin went on a ran a few years ago and people are pulling it out because everywhere every time. There's a report of a kid at a major university. Everyone gets on the coach to say get that kid out of your program. You got to cut the cancer out of your program. Blah blah blah sabin is a heart. You know he's the like you say. That grumpy staff is is coach series. He believes in second chances. Here's the rant that everyone is pulling out as there's these reports across the country these kids getting into trouble. This was nick sabin as the alabama alabama head coach a few years ago. There's always a lot of criticism out there when somebody does something wrong. Everybody wants to know how you gonna punish the guy but there's not enough for nineteen and twenty year old kids people out there saying. Why don't you give them another chance. I so i'm gonna give a speech right now. Alabama this like where do you want him to be guy makes a mistake. Where do you want him to be the only being street or do you want him to be here. Graduating you know when i was over there at nagorski moose and mohammed armagh played fifteen years for the carolina panthers play for me at michigan state everybody in the school every newspaper guy. Everybody was killing a guy because he got in trouble and said there's no way should be on our team..

"And dishwasher andrea too so don't ask me dude x._m. I happily clean up the house. <hes> go get her car service. What would you what what what is she not liked to do that. She would appreciate you doing a typical typical woman. She loves to shop. Can you say that these days so you can shop she doesn't she doesn't do it excessively well. She'll bayelsa so i don't ever denier of eighty she wants to do she can do but i guess if she wanted to. She wanted to go away for a weekend with some of my girlfriends. Go hang out. I'm i'm all for that so i don't. I don't have anything that she does and i say no don't do that. She loves the workout. I encourage workout as much as she wants so she whatever she would. She went up to any agreement with me because i'm fine right okay great. What do you think you're so. It asked for what she would ask me to. Basically put my phone away and take guys shut off. No twitter good one would be willing to do that. You can't because of our business great great just went what ten days you connected nanny. I mean okay nothing whatsoever so i can do that when i go away for those ten days but if it was like a middle of the work week and i have to shut up twitter and my phone i would be a disaster for me. What lisa would say to me and i never i know she'll tell you know golfing. Oh yeah when he goes golfing she would try and you're right michael. She would try and limited limited on this trip to tahoe. She said there you are not playing more than two rounds of golf wouldn't doesn't that make you miserable and what i said i said i said okay okay but i may try and sneak in third round so that you know so i think she came in she goes. I'm playing tennis thursday at four o'clock and i go. That's exactly what i'm playing. My third round snuck it in she would say she takes a girl's trip. She would say okay you get the football prenatal and nice games in return. I cannot say no to any girls trip out so she would like right. She's going to u._s. Open next week. She's going to orlando to play tennis in a tennis tournament next month yeah but of course she's going to new york with a friend of hers and my mom and her mom in january january when you and i are here on a home and i like it she doesn't she would say that would give her a hall pass to do whatever she wants. But if you want to go to this football pre-nup dot com it's actually pretty smart. Move by buffalo wild wings because they're trying to us once they get you to sign the football pre-nup and it's binding that one thing take your partner can't do is they can't ban you from going to buffalo wild wings. You get to go to watch the games there whenever you want. It was once a week. Why would a spouse deny her husband or a a significant partner that.

"Michael. You love shack. Oh love you cannot put him ahead of korean. No no shock wouldn't do that either. Even he has enough respect to say he's <hes> next to korean and my my purpose is not to disrespect kareem. It literally is i. I would say a player that even when i look back she'll type magic's my favorite player that i've ever watched right. I don't think there's enough pablo corinne because if there was it would be different because as thirty six year old i know kareem was one of the greatest ever do it but in my era watching shack i thought shack was the most dominating player that ever saw you didn't see colfax. Would you say he's the greatest lefty the dodgers ever the hat so how do you. How do you say that you weren't around colfax but didn't understand his history yeah but you cannot compare what i'm talking shocking and kareem. You're talking about two. I love the most dominating players to ever so fair kershaw. One kershaw doesn't have one cannot go down as dan marino and charles barkley and calm on low night with those players that never but alan. Here's here's another argument for kareem that i don't think you're figuring into the equation. Kareem was the best high school. We'll player ever not even close the best college player variety sixty seven and two in college and we're just talking laker time because i cannot but here's the thing i mean the championships john wooden and u._c._l._a. So before they both got the lakers they were very haired both number one overall n._b._a. Hey drafi yes. Then kareem comes into the n._b._a. And by any measure by any statistical measure offensively defensively of league all star appearances all defense appearances finals you name it kareem has more than check every single way you look at what he doesn't have have the ones that he doesn't have. He's got the five n._b._a. Championships. You said that he was the second best player on that. In that showtime era i would argue that both those players were invaluable invaluable and post-shave kobe needed both both cream and magic needed course what what title that koby until he got dwayne wade the one one one thing shack does have in that era is those three finals m._v._p.'s would which would tell me that he was obviously the best player on that team during that back to back to back championship kinship that doesn't make the argument that it's all said and done. Kareem is the second best center any of that stuff but i think you could stand here and make legitimate argument. That shack was the the best center. Obviously i'm not gonna say one of the centers because we already know that you do. We'll chamber wilt chamberlain naming there but he can't really even be in that argument for his tenure as a laker one one championship one finals m._v._p. Only played five years and if you look at shack verse kareem twenty-seven points a game to twenty two points a game twelve rebounds tonight and a half statistically weekly shack wins but they're six more years. Karim played as the los angeles lakers game shack sheck took the lakers to the finals four out of five years yeah yeah and one three of them. Kareem took the lakers to the finals eight times one one five. I mean by any whatever you compare that does that compare to mean that if if shack would have had fourteen years with the los angeles lakers had more trips. I can't make that argument. Michael thinks that michaelson nicholson shaq and kobe would have stayed together they would've they would've won. Multiple more longer shock was motivated. I always thought this. This is the thing that i always thought when you look at when you look at that showtime era if you think magic was the best player at that time and look. I wasn't even born yet but in one thousand nine hundred eighty when kareem went down with the injury lakers go to philadelphia adelphia win game six in agile johnson's rookie year and you're right. It's one game anybody can win one game but i thought magic was the best during that timeframe <hes> in the eighty s i look at shack in that that obviously that three pete for the lakers and making it to the championship four to five years the bottom line is during that stage age..

"As a twitter account giving him a chance to apologize all right and in his twitter handle is at lakers talk e._s._p._n. All one word at lakers talk e._s._p._n. And this tweet which he sent out sixteen hours ago what caught my attention should i was sitting the push sin. He writes alan wright's greatest lakers center of all time who got question mark. I'm going shack. He hates me. Already loved loved michael and i love you heard michael. Singing checks praise allan. This is of the many things you've said over the years k the dumbest thing you've ever seen. He's just another greatest liquor point guard magic or nick van exel how because all right because that's a great comparison shack ahead of who a man who could be the greatest basketball player who ever lived kareem abdul-jabbar barr. I give you a chance to explain yourself. Go ahead. We talked about this argument of if kareem is one of those players that probably got the least amount amount of exposure as possible. Somebody who's thirty six years old and that's not to say. I shouldn't do my learn in one thousand nine hundred ninety nine thousand nine hundred that that that doesn't it. It still doesn't mean that i i shouldn't obviously go do my research and everything else correct but kareem has to be if considered to be one of the greatest players of all time by far the least covered because fool most disrespected you you could save us most disrespected. Now's asking you this identity. We we were having this argument. Who was the best player during that showtime. The best player probably magic as i was in his prime magic made the other players better but the most unstoppable player was from a if you say the the the best player during the the showtime era was shack. I'm sorry was <hes> was magic. Then you're saying cream was the second best player during that tenure. I'm not making anything anything away from from korean right when i look at shack <hes> and those three n._b._a. Championships the lakers one shocked to me was by far the best player here and at that time in the league you could put on any team in the n._b._a. And they were going to compete for an n._b._a. Championship and that's not to discredit kobe kobe just wasn't at that stage of his career but i couldn't couldn't make the same argument in a different way if the if the showtime lakers had magic but not kareem they don't win those titles and if the lakers were shack jack didn't have kobe they don't know so kareem was on the lakers four years before magic there and look again. This is in in to discredit kareem in any way possible that you already did know the korean or a empty. The bottom line is kareem. I'm on a shack cat three n._b._a. Championships three finals m._v._p. There was no question that show these at that time you just said check had three n._b._a. Championships and three finals v._p.'s appease okay cream at five wait. A minute premed sick and he had six n._b._a. Regular m._v._p. Yes but he had six total corral one in milwaukee right right over the lakers so shack had four but i'm just telling you what i guess. Here's my question on what measure in terms of greatest lakers center shack better than korean yeah breakdown the fourteen years to eight years. I can't have an argument there right fourteen years for kareem abdul jabbar but if you look at the numbers shack was with the lakers compared to the numbers career with the lakers you can make some argument right here because <hes> cream had to shoot a bullet magic and a guy named james worthy. What about kobe bryant kobe bryant. That's okay. You're still as long as you're still making. A hat only have three n._b._a. Championships in had cream with first of all was the most unstoppable offensive player ever he was eleven times all defense kareem defend people used to say that wilt chamberlain was the greatest offense of senator everett and bill russell was the greatest defensive center and when kareem came along he was half russell half chamberlain right michael..
