"Experience is being getting experienced people on racing conditions. It's the best way to regulate our business. But I think it's that way in any industry for that had industry to be successful and to thrive and finally with respect to I guess we can talk about the mid Atlantic strategic plan but we are arbitrary actively working in the mid Atlantic region on a daily basis to to address the risks that are horses on the racetrack. And we've hired Andy. L. Fury is just dynamic and doing fabulous job and you are working this collectively reaching on a day-to-day basis and We have evidence to show show at. This plan has worked. There are still challenges. It doesn't mean that we're going to completely eliminate the Saudis have spikes and have incidents sweep carefully. Take a look at them to see what we district what we can do better and we move forward for the benefit of everyone and it's a good story that's all I wish that we could Encourage our media partners in the industry depend a little bit more attention to some good stuff. That's going on. Well you would think it would be incumbent to due to understand the history and and be able to reference the history you know you you bring up the two thousand in twelve a spate of injuries and fatalities at acqueduct and there was a a comprehensive task force that you were on Ah that produced a what two dozen Plus Action Plan Action List that was immediately really implemented and it has has had ongoing positive impact That's something week that that I kind of for two weeks have tried tried to tie in to these discussions Allen and even the situation in West Virginia in recent weeks can be can be the Brought up as as an example of when there's been a negative publicity crisis or or your black eye or however you want to characterize what transpired With the with the Horse Carcass and and it's disposition I look at what positive has come out of that given that West. Virginia is going to make some sweeping changes to their to their post fatality examinations. I mean the West Virginia. This is a major positive Coming out of that incident and they're making the changes because of their participation in the mid Atlantic strategic plan because all the jurisdictions all the tracks all the horsemen's organizations the veterinary organizations that have signed onto are committed to the plan. All all working together to lift up those who may not be in compliance with requirements and to ensure that everyone who is participating is is compliant with what we're trying to do and is working to minimize the risk to our horses when they're on the track you'll every time of war steps on the track track that is at risk and you could never ever forget that It's no different than when you get into a car and you drive on a highway. You're at risk anytime An NFL football player goes on the field. He's at risk of serious injury. And and whether it's driving a car whether it's playing professional football were a horse going onto a racetrack where you've got risk. We implement measures to reduce that risk and provide for a safer environment. And and so everything that we're doing in the mid Atlantic quaint is designed to reduce the risk to the horse and it's very multifactorial And with respective West Virginia for example one of the basic requirements. And you'RE GONNA you're GonNa see going on now with breeders. Cup is requirement of an necropsy. Win A horse breaks on patents. euthanized or worst is on track were in training on the crops to understand not only why that horse died but what the underlying problems where whether contributing factors and try to understand and put piece together the reason why that wars broke down and to learn from it and then to have a mortality review process with all of the essential players and investigators to find out was known what was not known. It's something was known why something wasn't done to gentrify. Were to prevent it. Exactly what's going on in the review with the Breeders Cup talent and we were acquired that in the mid Atlantic and it's an enormous educational national tool and West Virginia didn't have that process. Didn't have the money. They didn't have the personnel in our view. was that if you want to participate in the mid Atlantic plan you have to get get there. And so we talk and incident actually got worse lying in a landfill and the fact that they didn't have crops he program when of course ghosts in the crops. It's been disposed the after the autopsy. They didn't have it so the worst winter directly to a place disposal they were out of compliance and as their commitment to the plant they own are moving into compliance. That's precisely what this plan is designed to We had that many as we did a gap analysis of all the tracks in the reach all the jurisdictions there got thirty items that gap list of things that tracks And George six should be doing and we see who's doing it who visit where we're we. We're we're strong where we need to get everybody in compliance report card and it's something that we consistently audit and it's something that we're consistently working working with what what percentage of of jurisdictions Alan are are part of this already. And how much more can it can it spread and maybe it's it would be valuable to delineate you know how the jurisdictions are from Horsemen's organization standpoint. I mean we. We've we've reiterate this every time you when I talk or I talk with Eric Hammill back and explain the CPA over umbrella but Explain how and we've done this with our MTC conversations as well but explain how concepts like this can be implemented in every jurisdiction. Well we have a unique situation the mid Atlantic where we quite frankly it would start. Gordon is a very small group. Twenty five years ago were Mushroomed into the much larger group beginning with the situation that the Taliban had acted back I can two thousand eleven two thousand twelve that changed the mindset. I think in the region. So we're you know the mid Atlantic is always step ahead of everyone else and working working with Dr Scott Palmer. We've had Parkin- we had We've had expert working with us and with a commitment from everyone in the region and I'm you know This is T. H. A. H.. Every racing commission every race track from Newark New Jersey Pennsylvania Delaware Maryland West Virginia Virginia. New Jersey We're all at the table and were there is. It's not even the situation of being consensus based it's all right. What do we have to do? What are the measures that we need to implement in order to make our environment safer deeper and convinced the public that we are concerned that our number one priority is health safety and welfare worse? So you know right now. We are developing best practices. This is that everyone will adhere to and everyone in the region is participating in these efforts at the galloping. The Best Practices. What are the most significant issues that I think? We're all facing teaching right now and I think it's a California issues racing services I mean. We have a group together just focused on the racing services working with Nick Peters is in Glencoe Zach and we have all of our track superintendents together and we're talking about how whether it's affecting changes to our service is what happens. Benjamin horses are moving from track to track different services. we're looking. We've got the racing directors together and looking at training issues.

He had an Egyptologist come in. And teach me how to write my name in the ancient hieroglyphs. And to me, it is not difficult to understand the will do the hieroglyphs are the original emojis. Yes, they are. And after she taught me how to write my name a few years later, I went to Egypt, and I was able to understand the writing on the wall. It's the inlex are and all around in the schools are excellent the research, libraries at UCLA and USC are two of the best in the country. I wouldn't doubt that I've been thinking about bribing USC to let one of my kids, and I'm joking. So where are you? Are you a scandal? I know you not. Are you are you in Louisville? Yes. I taught at the high school from which I graduated which was central high magnet career academy. Oh, my mom. My mom was from shawnee park right down the street. I can't remember if that was her high school or not. Kick park sunny park, and I lived on green with avenue when I was a child here. Oh, it's wonderful. Well, thank you for jumping in. Appreciate that. I love that idea of still learning hieroglyphs people, really. There's a lot of languages that were built around those that type of storytelling using those images. Yes. In what a what an honor? It is. I've been along for this ride since the beginning. And it's so it's so awesome. That you're you're they're taking my call for the first time I've ever called them. Really? Well, it's a pleasure for me. And I love hearing people with that kind of equity in this show because it deserves it it certainly does. And if I make this real quick, I just wanted to say that good. Ugh. Adopted by my my my father adopted me, and we didn't really talk at all. And you know, my mom got divorced long story. Short is the only thing we ever bought it on west coast to coast. Yeah. Yeah. It's really cool. So okay. There's two things I wanna talk to you about. And when the UFO thing, I I heard the show a couple of nights ago, but the twenty second anniversary of the Phoenix lights, and it really sparked this thing I have to call myself UFO, my figure it was back in nineteen seventy three nineteen seventy four. I was the only one there. Forgive me. I'm nervous my heart is pounding. You're doing great, man. Take a breath through. You're you're doing fine. So don't don't take yourself up. Okay. I was a kid back then and it wasn't. We look I look in the sky. I saw this thing, and I told my friend. He thought his grandmother was there. We're out by the pool. So it must have been during the summer spring summertime. Anyway, it was a chemical cigar-shape a secular, shape shifts that okay? And this is I didn't see any lights on it. However, this is one thing that's different than anything. I've heard as that this ship. And it was I wouldn't say it was like way up in the sky. But it was it was higher than oh, I don't know get liners would normally go, and it was about the side. I would say of my thumbnail long show was pretty high up, and it must've been pretty huge 'cause I distinctly see these rings. No, not ring a ring. Eight like smoke kind of ring that started at the top and started to wind it. Itself kinda quickly and considering the sizes thing must've been around the ship like like like a coil. Mike. Core. The alert. And I think the bottom of this this this ship it just blinked out of existence. Just like that. And it was your your classic. You know, when I heard that lady talk about how would she, you know, those those those crafts that you know, what she described and and how huge they were. I can only imagine how how huge this thing must've been. But I've never heard anybody talk about this this this coil. This that started wrapping around the vessel or craft and then boom shot I've existence. I I've never heard that. So that was really important for me to get out there to to the coast family. I yeah, I and the second thing is the boozer back these these these. Food. Yeah. They're back when I was living in Sacramento, proper suburbs. They back in. Oh, gosh. This must have been early nineties. I thought I thought somebody was blowing up the garbage cans. You know, those old Kim GATT garbage cans, we used to write like a cherry bomb kinda thing. Right. I assume you know, and then my wife didn't hear it, and she was sleeping next to me. I asked the neighbors about it. 'cause pretty close. They didn't hear it. And that was happening. Gosh, I think until we moved so. And then now today we were looking at moving back towards that area and in fair oaks. Apparently, there's this widespread thing because of social media about these booms, and I'm I'm there back, and I remember Linda how talking about how those horns member that. She was talking about those horns people are hearing. It was like Djelic. That's what I that's what I took from it. I haven't heard anything like that. But I can't help but wonder. Why those stop? Well, hang on hang. Alexa, Google booms. I don't really have Alexa. I just wanted. I didn't want to be left out. I just wanted to see what happens. So, you know, the I when I lived in in Arizona, I met I met two people who were on the record including the. Had already been included in a couple of TV shows. But I mean, they were legit observers of the Phoenix lights that night. And I met them just by happenstance. I mean, they recognized my name from coast to coast, and we started talking, and it was very interesting. So I I I'm sorry. I missed that show if they did an anniversary update on that. And that boom thing you know, that's not just there. Right. I mean, sort of like all over the country there, these isolated places. They just still can't always figure out what the origin is. So if you know more, you know, this won't be the last time that you're calling coast to coast your dad would be very proud of you call back again, if you find out more, and we'll get you on. Okay. I certainly would. Thank you so much have a good night. Talk to you. Open lines on coast to coast will go to we'll go to Thomas in LA Hoya coast to coast Thomas. Good morning. And I just wanted to say that the coast to coast audience is the best audience. Is. I love the fact she's getting all these all these props. The best toast. Show. I only I only tried to live up to genus reputation. That's all so when she's on I have to raise my game show. So glad to have you all these years. So were you wanna take us? You know, you mentioned at the beginning of the show your researches into the bible Torah. Where I stand the common denominator of all three is effective dynamic prayer. That's interesting. This is a friendly question. I really explain what you mean by that. Because I really like it effective dynamic prayer. You know, a prayer that creates a daily partnership. That's cool. Not that I agree with the idea of cleansing our minds. So that we become better receptors of what what we should do. Yeah. I totally agree with that. And I was wondering if you would share your personal experiences affective, prayer and partnership with divinity. And yet. Whether it's your personal experience or your researches into the bible, the Torah, right? First of all say this. And I hope you stick around for what's really interesting about the Koran is how much is similar to to bible stories, and and and the same thing, you know. So the the Old Testament Christians, call the Old Testament or. You know, the the Hebrew bible that the there are there are more. There's more commonality than there are dissimilarities, and the commonality actually is very much about what you talk about which is the idea of submission, right? And that's what obviously what the Koran means. And and in in the what Islam means is those who submit is. And so the the whole purpose of that is is to is to give up ourselves and and to get over ourselves. And so I think that's actually the mystery of life that people too often miss is that they they think of the bible or they think of themselves as transmitters instead of receivers. And when we if if all we're doing walk around all day long as we're transmitting roast telling God what to do or we're telling other people what to do. We miss the real beauty of of submitting to a higher power, which is things we may not. Like, we may have to do. And that's what the bible and the Koran are full of stories of people who did things they didn't want to do. But they were called to do it. And in the end their lives were better for it. And we should all be like that. Yes. Absolutely. Absolutely. And sort of getting out of your own way. Yeah. Exactly. And what's interesting is a lot of people don't know this that the, you know, they tell the gospel story in the Koran the Jesus narrative is in the Koran, and and there's there's little things that are different though. The in in Arabic the word. They use is Jesus was murdered. Not. They don't see Jesus was killed. They say was murdered. And I think that I find that very interesting, and I did that was a piece speaking about the research thing, and I researched this whole idea about the use of the word murder, and there's actually more references to murder and do not murder in the Koran than there is in the in the bible in the Hebrew bible of the Christian bible. Yeah. We we saw sell it a little bit. And we talk about killing as opposed to murder. So those are the things that I I'm drawn to I don't know quite what it means. But I do know that we should be more mindful about the things that we don't know into try to read more about them as opposed to make judgments from afar, and I can't get those people in Christchurch New Zealand out of my mind. Thank you Thomas really enjoyed this conversation. Quebec anytime, let me go to. Well, we were in West Virginia earlier. So how about Brenda in Morgantown, Brenda? Hey, and hi, hey, glad to be on. Thanks for taking my call. I've been years. How many West Virginia shows have you heard on coast to coast in twenty years? All of good answer. But they're not that many bodies. Well, I hope you enjoy that. We'll everybody's loves Gina. But I hope you I hope you heard all those great West Virginia stories tonight. And I have gotten your audience oughta love first of all I've been to Susan's paranormal were fabulous. Yeah. In parkersburg. Hopkins there and paulie really oh, cool. God but Hopkins that lasted man was the coolest guy ever met in my life. Yeah. I loved his books that missing time book. I he was from West Virginia. No, I don't remember that. I remember he lived in New York City. I just didn't know that he was originally from wheeling area, and then he went to New York City and how about that. Yeah. I interviewed him. I had one chance to interview him. But I it was late in his life. And I I had already. I mean, I'd grown up reading and rereading missing time. It was a great book the listeners as bad. If anybody wants to take a week vacation and just do paranormal step West Virginia is the place to do it at everything here like the whole east, the whole west part of west Virginia's got them off man and lots of you stop the West Virginia has the flatwoods monster and all the northern part where I live has lots of. You and Bigfoot lots of I have neighbors that say they think that on a regular basis, really. And I and plus I'm close I can see Maryland West Virginia and from my house, I live right on top Appalachian mountains. I'll be darned. Yeah. And where I live aggregation said was one of the very few places that was going to be a safe place to live and all the big weather changes game. Interesting. Awarded towns a cool enough as it is Morgantown great. That's a great city beautiful place. I was hoping that George and Tommy alum could come to Oregon town sometime Dini's ought to fix that up for us. I will tell them I will mention it to the it's actually very much the kind of city they like to go to. So I wouldn't be surprised if it pops up on a tour. Well, the one thing I wanted to tell the listeners if you haven't been West Virginia at the really beautiful mountain estate almost all small towns. He wanted to come for a vacation, you could drive all around the state. At a car and drive all around the state, and you could stay all this paranormal stuff and a week easy. And it's really cheap to do. Not to mention you for sixty bucks. Not to mention you drive down to the West Virginia Kentucky state line there. And do that whole Hatfield mccoys thing. All the Nate Nate one great stories done there too on there too. Well, it's wonderful. Thank you, Brenda and living. I think I've just enough time to get Louise end before the bottom of the hour. It's open lines. Louise, where you're going to take us. Sure. Hi. Thank you for accepting my call, and I would like to give credit to USC and UCLA for the excellent research, libraries that they have I have studied at both of those schools taking classes in Antony kitchen his three and at UCLA under Dr Robinson. He had an Egyptologist come in. And teach me how to write my name in the ancient hieroglyphs. To me. It is not difficult to understand the will there. The the hieroglyphs are the original emojis. Yes, they are. And after she taught me how to write my name is a few years later. I went to Egypt, and I was able to understand the writing on the wall. It's the luck Sar and chip. So the schools are excellent the research, libraries, and UCLA and USC are two of the best in the country. I wouldn't doubt that I've been thinking about bribing USC to let one of my kids, and I'm joking. But so where are you? Are you a scandal? I know you weren't are you in are you in level? Yes. I am in my masters. They should know. It's from the university of North Carolina. But I lived in LA for twenty five years. It's beautiful. So what do you study? What do you? What do you do when I was in in North Carolina? I was a business. Professor Nakagawa antiques state university. But when I was in LA in banking and finance because I wanted to a grade my skills, and I was in banking and finance what twenty five years, but then I came back home to the at the high school from which I graduated which was central high magnet career academy. Oh, this is my mom. My mom was from shawnee park right down the street..

"Back. Daily line, wrapping up our number three. You know, we might have to work on this thing. On a daily dump? Why would you ever say our number three with our daily do also think it's how you say too? I mean, I'm not going to be crass. But but if you said ten off the daily dump versus time now for the daily dot com. Well, those sound like very different things the way you said that or if it's like me getting out of my chair. All right. Chad up, okay. But yeah, let's get to the daily dump. Okay. Let's some quick hitting stories off the radar a little bit. May not always be about NFL. We might look I can almost guarantee you as this show moves forward. There will be a w NBA beat or two on the daily dump out my mind, of course, we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna cover it all now. I don't know where it's going to take us today. That's what we just we just world around in the daily up. Nick foles. He's about to get paid a lot of money. So I don't necessarily feel that bad for him. But Adam Schefter tweeted this out after the eagles victory on Sunday in Washington. Remember he had to deal with that rib injury. Nick, foles jank's had a million dollar incentive. If Philadelphia goes to the postseason and he plays thirty three percent of the teams place his bruised ribs that prevented him from finishing the Redskins game meant he played thirty two percents of the eagles plays one percentage. Short of a million dollars. Wow. That's a bad beat. Is a bad beat for for you, Ohio State backers who had twenty bucks on Ohio State, minus the six and a hook. Yeah. Nick foles is like, yeah. I was one percentage shy of a million dollars. Yeah. You feel bad about losing that twenty. I got a story for you. Nick foles is the guy that you're talking to a barking always went up. Oh, yeah. You having a tough time buying that beer. Let me tell you what I lost. But you know, what I will say on a personal level. I'm not a eagles fan. But I don't think I've ever been happier for a player like an for Nick foles. He's one of the few because he almost got out of the game and almost quit because he questioned his passion. And then decided to come back and one's a ring. I think it's a great story and especially with the NFL with his book. Yeah. I mean when you see stories in the NFL, and we tend to highlight these stories of players who've done something wrong they're trying to work their way back in the league. And they're ostracized to have a guy genuinely good guy. When it all. I think is a is a great thing. Now, this guy didn't have a Nick foles moment Darren rebel from the action network tweeted this out so Hollywood casinos. That's in West Virginia for those who don't know. It's not that far from where we're located. What about an hour, fifteen minutes tops? It's actually a much quicker drive than you realize. So it's just over the Maryland West Virginia border for those wondering so they have legalized sports gambling and a parlay was played a five dollar parlay Cowboys.

"Opening drive by so yes we are one week away from kickoff weekend in college football and if you listen to the show every Saturday. You will. Know we love college football I do my show out of Atlanta on. A weekday basis I mean college, football, in the south we know what rules the roost there's one thing I. Love when college football teams do more than anything else in that's. Open with legitimate competition I've always said I think a power five team when. It opens with another legitimate power five it gives, the college football. Fan some payoff consider. This right we get twelve or thirteen chances to see our. Favorite college team play and it stinks, if you really take a step. Back and look at your team schedule and you realize there are probably three or four really interesting games season Really there are three or four games now maybe there's a surprise that jumps up some underdog plays well and you get a bonus game But the one. Thing. I detest about college football and again it's a game I love is that we wait eight months, for that opening week next weekend What better. Games I want more games that matter give me an opener worth watching I've waited for you for so long you've been away, and, you're just teasing me now there are some fan. Bases that will have a fun week ahead starting on. Monday looking. Forward, to game week and realizing wow we have a big, game to, start Michigan. Fans, Notre Dame fans go head, to head next Saturday night that's fantastic Auburn Washington, will meet in Atlanta, in a Chick-fil-A kickoff game, love it Alabama, Louisville listen Louisville. Doesn't up Lamar Jackson but at least it's still illegitimate opponent, in Orlando kick. Off the season Miami at LSU from Dallas legitimate both sides both fan bases And then the same, for Virginia Tech, and Florida state Even if you're. Not playing a top. Ten top twenty five type opponent give me some atmosphere maybe in the. Second half of the game is still in the balance the underdogs got some players that, could give you hope that we get. A good, game like Ohio State, who plays, Oregon state next, weekend Texas is at Maryland West Virginia and Tennessee play That, gives me some payoff, for waiting, the eight months Now conversely some. Of you. Think you're kicking off your seasons next week you're not I'm talking about you top ten top, twenty programs and you fan bases who love, your team but instead of legitimate opponent in week. One you're going to have to watch Clemson play Furman Or Georgia host Austin p. Or Wisconsin and. Western Kentucky, battling and camp Randall Oklahoma post Florida Atlantic Penn State and Appalachian state and Michigan. State plays Utah state, yuck we waited eight months and that's. That's, what you're giving me now coaches have a. Different philosophy on this stuff some love getting right out of the gate with a big game because it holds their teams, focus all summer better. Practices more intensity and others the other side of coaches who. Just want little ramp up we don't. Get a preseason college football so this gives us a chance to kind of see what we have before we play. Better and more legitimate competition here's Georgia head coach Herbie smart on opening the season against the power five team. And, why he likes it, yeah love. Playing a power five team if we can do better off season a. Lot more look forward to. I love home at home. I love a neutral site I'll tell you something that's, important because as a fan sometimes you lose interest in the other games I think it said perfectly now remember what school he comes from the school of. Thought of Nick Sabin, who Alabama routinely place somebody whether it's. On, a neutral field most times doesn't matter it's. A legitimate opponent to keep your team just a little extra carrot dangling to get their focus now I told you we, do up three or. Four or five I think pretty intriguing week one games next. Saturday Sunday and member into Monday night. With Labor Day one of them Miami and LSU right you gotta ACC SEC neutral site Mark richt head coach of. The hurricanes who come in with a lot of expectation in two thousand eighteen talked about opening the season with. That, legitimate opponent it's going, to be. Interesting it'll probably be a little bit of a home game for them. It'd be a little bit. Closer for their fans that. Hours but it's one of those games where you know, it's going to be on a Sunday night We'll be the only game on television at the time so the whole world's gonna see us play and see them play and both teams got. A lot to prove what. A win I mean do you want to win the game certainly. Win if you're Miami and LSU while somebody's playing Austin p., or Florida Atlantic well somebody's planned.
