No. That was done by a small blue convertible the show, of course, get smart, and that was the ship of spies EMMY awarding edition of that. I'm Dave Serio, Saturday mornings eight to ten CBS. You ought to know good to be with you looking forward to talking to you at four ten WCBS six eighty that's four one nine two two six six eighty and outside of Baltimore. One eight hundred WCBS six eighty all right? Let's go to the phones we got Dave in forest hill. Hey, dave. How you doing? Hey, good morning. Good morning. Abbott question for you. I've noticed some some of the people have been calling it about Dr tire. Yes. And coaches the truck last week it was a two thousand twelve four, Dan. Okay. Tires. I didn't notice if they were Dr rotten to after you know, the the sealer that they put around the tire wall. Okay. And I mean, should they replace the tires or well, first of all did you buy the vehicle? Maryland state inspected. Yes. Ok Tedi inspection report and inspection before did approve the tires. Gotcha. How many how many miles and how much time have you had on your vehicle since you bought it? Oh, probably no more than about four hundred miles. Okay. Less than thirty days. Oh, yeah. Definitely. Then you should take it back to the state inspection station. The people who inspected it. Let them take a look at it. Now, if they determined that it's still not failure that you may want to contact the state police and see what they say. But you have to do this soon. You only have a thousand miles or thirty days to dispute a state inspection. Dry dry tyres do fail dry rot tires do fail. The truck came with Michelin's truck has twenty nine thousand miles on it. So I'm right. I would imagine that they weren't original tires from the truck. I would think so too. And those are the tires that was talking about that seemed to show dry rot sooner than some other brands. So I would think that would fail. It's really important that you need to get back to the easy to go back to the people. You bought it from or you go back to the actual inspection station if they're not the same and get that looked at right away. I did go back to the deal or not. Or gave me the inspection report. That said that the inspector approved all the tires. Well, inspector the same as the Dior the same same business, or is it another business. I think so. Okay. Well, if it turns out that you've gone back to the door and the Dior themselves are their own inspector. And they're saying, it's okay. Then you need to go to the Maryland state police and have them take a look at the tires, it is imperative that you do it. Now, if you wait till after one thousand miles or thirty days, you've got nothing. Okay. Gotcha. Maryland state police look at it. And think that it is needs to be reinspected for those tires. They'll take you personally. Meet you at the inspection station. Okay. To have them checked and at that point a decision. We made if the state police say they fail. Ben they're going to have to replace those tires for you at no charge. Okay. Because there was. There were three of them that at that are better defected, the other woman's brand new that they put on it. Well, the three of them would would fail and it has to replace three as long as the other tire is in good shape. Yes. Okay. Great one other question. Can you tell me what your thoughts are about the art? Not necessary in today's world, you're talking about for the rust the rust proofing. Yes. Yes. I mean, I mean the guy that does it for us and Don dock he's he does a fantastic job. I'm sure from what I understand. It's great for the brake lines. Well, I don't think editing saves the brake lines. Okay. I'm not gonna lie to you. You're going to have a vehicle truck or SUV that's domestic in twenty to twenty five years or less. You're going to be replacing brake lines. They will say that in my opinion. It's not necessary anymore. The rust proofing. Do they do with the factory is going to do a great job Zebari thing? It's just it adds more weight to the vehicle it gets in areas where sometimes it can trap moisture I've seen that before. And I would not have done to my vehicle. I'm not blaming Z-bar. Okay. It's not like, I'm slamming the e Bart. An excellent job. It's just I don't think it's a necessary part of of your vehicle anymore, and what used to be very popular in the sixty seventies. And eighties is almost non-existent. Now. Okay. Okay. All right that that's what I need. And I knew they do an annual check once a year on it too. They do check it out. But. Okay. Well, appreciate audience formation. South pole is a great show. Thank you for your service. Thank you. Dave. Appreciate the call, buddy. Okay. Have a good day. Thank you. You too. Gary is in Columbia. Hello there. Mr gary. Hey, dave. Thanks for taking my call. My pleasure, sir. I went to the Baltimore auto show and Friday. Okay. Good. A lot of nice cars there, Mike Lambert from the shine. Shop is there right now. By. So what did you think? What did you like in? What was what was the surprise? Well, all the cars are really really nice right now, especially the interiors. They're just beautiful great. I'm sure they're all reliable, etc. Etc. Right. But the thing that surprised me a little bit among other things. I looked at the Toyota RAV four which is new for two thousand nineteen right? And of course, they have the four cylinder engine is the base and in other than the hybrid, right? Yeah. And there's a sticker on the engine that says it requires zero w sixteen. Now, I didn't know about that. I have a friend of mine who just bought a nineteen rap four to find out about that. But you know, the erotic thing about it. The rap. She bought didn't have. Have a heated seats. Dr. A two thousand eighteen with the X L E. Yeah. You do or do not do. I do. Yeah. Well, she didn't have heated seats. Hers was hers was yeah. You have to get to the X L E. I think even the limited doesn't have heated seats as far as factory. So kinda surprised there because she wasn't expecting that. Especially in a cold weather state. You know, that's a nice little added feature. That's for sure. So that's too. I can't remember where the man was a package on the X Aaliyah rather came standard. But mine have it because I got everything on the L all the safety features kit and caboodle. Yeah. Yeah. But I was wondering about this weight oil. This is this is of course, the new engine this is still two point five liter four cylinder engine. But last year, they put this engine in the Camry the two thousand eighteen Gotcha. It has very high thermal efficiency like forty percent, thermal efficiency, which is just amazing. I don't know how they were able to do that and gasoline engine, regardless. I was wondering whether you think that that is is necessary. Sixteen or twenty twenty you probably could use twenty. But the key is this the engine manufacturer Toyota has decided what needs to be in there to run efficiently. Officially and also safely to keep the engine lubricated. And if you use something else, and you have an early premature engine failure. I doubt you will in that car. But let's just say for for jollies could happen. If Toyota wanted to be a strict as they could be they could actually check the Bescot stadium the oil, and if it's not what they recommend. They could say that's the reason why the engine failed, and we're not gonna it. Now, the chances of all that happening. You got a better chance of having a winning lottery ticket in your pocket and being struck by lightning at the same time. Probably not going to do that. Unless you put you know, ten w forty in there. Right. But they are very picky about misconduct. He's now I didn't even know about that. I have to keep up on that myself,.

"On a Thursday morning. Well, good morning to you. You know, it's been a long day when you struggled to open your fruit snack, which I just did. I was about ready to throw the fruit snack across studio because I could not get the packaging open, thankfully disaster averted I was able to eat said fruit snack. And I don't know if it actually will keep me from going in raiding the vending machine, but at least I got it open. And there was a temper tantrum in the studio. It's been a week after hours with Amy Lawrence on CBS sports radio. Hope you survive the hump day. Now, we're headed toward the weekend, which is division all weekend in the NFL done with college. So no more college games, though. There is some college news that will get you. And the temperatures are getting colder in many places in the country, and as the end of January draws near. I think what did I do theory. What did I do? I put the up on Twitter and Facebook to explain what? In fact, I did some of you may have heard me talking about the fact that I've committed to a polar bear plunge in each Chesapeake Bay in Annapolis Maryland in two weeks. And not been regretting this decision. Now for months, but it's gotten worse as the temperature has gotten colder. So I was speaking to a member of the Maryland state police that's who puts on this polar bear plunge to benefit Special Olympics, and we were going through the agenda. They're bringing me down there. They're putting me up at a hotel. They even tell me I could have a police escort to the park. I don't think that's necessary. Anyway, I got a whole agenda for me on Friday, January twenty fifth, and so I was going through the agenda and was talking to Greg with the Maryland state police, and we were figuring out how we can best promote this, and we're going to have a Special Olympics athlete on the air and the head of Special Olympics. And there's a lot that I've learned about this process about this partnership between law enforcement and Special Olympics in Maryland alone. There are nearly eight thousand athletes who compete in Special Olympics and all of them compete and train year round at no cost to them. Which is where these plunges and other charity events come in Hindi because they wouldn't be able to pursue their passions into compete and train year round for free. If it weren't for the fact that there are so many people who are donating their time and their money to help raise money, especially the Olympics is important to me because I actually worked with Special Olympics when I was in college. And I remember the. First year. We we hosted a track meet at my campus. And I remember the first year, I was an organizer. I think it was a greeter and then the second year, and my senior year in college, I decided to be a buddy for an athlete every athlete has a buddy that hangs out with them and helps them get ready for their events and make sure they get where they need to go. And I was a buddy, and it was one of the biggest blessings of my life such inspirational athletes because they're they refused to accept limitations, and they will go after not just the victories the Velgo after this this love of competition without allowing any of their their disabilities. Whatever they might be to hold them back. And you can't tell them that they are unable to do the same things that everybody else does. They're just so inspirational, they're strong they're brave or courageous. And there are. A lot of fine and to be around an event like Special Olympics. I think it changes your life at it really gives you a great perspective about what's important. And so here I get an opportunity to jump into the Chesapeake Bay. I am not wearing a bathing suit. I was told that that would be okay. That's not happening. Not the end of January when it's going to be and I quote, Greg. Thirty five or thirty six degrees in the water. He said at least it won't be ice. Apparently, he's done it in the past where it's been ice and slush because the lead up to the polar bear plunge has been so cold that the water was actually freezing freezing solid. He explained to me. We'll be on the beach. They'll be tons of music, and then you take three huge strides. You start running you take three huge strides, and you're in the water, and he said, don't worry, you could just go into your ankles. I told him negative ghost rider and David shaky is head right now. Dave, why can I not go in only up to my ankles shaking my head because there's no chance. That I would ever did Amy enough to do it not avenue. Oh, come on. You would even go into your ankles in thirty five degree water, the ankles, sir. You could be ankle boy you serve, but I'm not diving in. Yeah. So apparently, they discourage diving because it's relatively shallow with this particular park. It's called sandy point sandy point and again in Annapolis Maryland, and they don't want you to die because I guess people have gotten hurt before diving. But people do whatever year I will be wearing yoga pants and a long sleeved shirt. But Greg warned me once you get in the water and then out again, any clothing, you have we'll be freezing cold, and we'll be sticking to you. And so you actually don't want to have a lot of clothing on because it gets really heavy and cold very fast. But he said to me, you can just go into your knees. No, my response was absolutely not. If I'm doing this frigging thing, I'm going in all the way. So it's going to be the worst day of my life. And I may never go in the water again. However this girl this check is get her head's going under. So it's gonna be it's gonna be awful. I'm not looking forward to he said, the adrenaline will kick in and you'll be fine. It'll be over before you know, what he said some people even get so excited. They stay in the water and take pictures. I'm not taking my phone in. That will not be the case though. I did hear it's broadcast live on TV in Baltimore, Maryland. Chris immediately said to me what what I told you. It's coming up in two weeks. You said what? Well, selfishly my mind is always on show content. So that's where my mind immediately went and what type of show, calm, your pictures and videos our social media. Oh my gosh. I don't think I want any pictures of me looking like a frigid drown rat that does not seem like a great way to promote myself or the show. But this is not about me. It's about the Special Olympics athletes. It's about partnering for an amazing cause. So if you could please do me a favor anyone who wants to join the team there's plenty of room on this team. So there's actually a link that you can check out. You can read more details. Why is important about the athletes that Special Olympics? And I love this. I love this slogan. I might use this as the hashtag be bold. Get cold. Anyway. So I tweeted the link, and Chris if you wouldn't mind retweeting it awesome from our show account after our CBS just put it up on Facebook. He could just check it out. And if you want to donate to help out these Special Olympics athletes, the money's not coming to me. So it's all you're giving me a dime. But if you wanna give twenty bucks to help partner with Special Olympics, that would be awesome. I'd appreciate it mostly prayers. Please polar bear plunge prayers. That also has a lot of alliteration and feels like a good hashtag because the closer it gets the worst. I feel about but I will not be angle girl. I'm going all the way in like it or not if I never come out again fine. But I am going all.
