"Yeah, absolutely. You are one of those bold fighters, congresswoman. So thank you for what you're doing. I want to play a cut here. It just seems to me that this whole theme of the Democrat party is this utter disregard for life and for the life of a child. Let's play cut 90. This is secretary Janet Yellen, treasury secretary, talking about young black moms that can't afford to be moms. In many cases, abortions are of teenage women, particularly low income and often black who aren't in a position to be able to care for children, have unexpected pregnancies, and it deprives them of the ability often to continue their education to later participate in the workforce. What do you make of such a tone deaf statement by one of our nation's most powerful leaders? Well, first of all, the majority of women that have had abortions regret it. And they're grossly and intentionally misrepresenting the impact of this Supreme Court ruling. It's going to put it back on the states where it should have been to begin with. What the American people, especially now with ultrasound and the young people are decidedly more pro life because they've accompanied their parents. I know my children did to ultrasounds of their siblings and they've seen it's not a blob of tissue. So when they're told that, they know better. And I do think it all goes back to for generations now. We've been teaching kids that they've evolved rather than been created by God. And there was nothing that exists that any sane person would say came from nowhere. Much less the sophisticated and beautiful world that God created, including human beings. And so we need to go back to telling kids that they were created designed by God with a gift and a purpose. And I think that it will help people rethink abortion that life does begin at conception. Yeah, I think you're right. I think a whole generation was raised with this whole clump of cells. You know, phrase. And I think it's poison thinking. And you're right. Science and technology has showed us different. In 30 seconds, 1530 seconds. Tell us how people can follow you, get behind your campaign. I know you're running right now. "So this is from Jim Jordan and Mike Johnson's letter to Merrick Garland. It says, and one investigation following your directive, the FBI's field office, interviewed a mom for allegedly telling a local school board we are coming for you. The complaint, which came into the FBI through the national threat operations center snitch line that he set up, the Carlin set up, alleged that the mom was a threat because she belonged to a right-wing moms group known as moms for liberty. Moms for liberty. And because she is a gun owner. When the FBI agent interviewed the mob, she told the agent that she was upset about the school board mask mandates and that her statement was a warning that her organization would seek to replace the school board with new members through the electoral process. Bravo, it's exactly what you're supposed to do. I thought this was a democracy, gets everybody's favorite word on the left these days. There's another one. The FBI's field office opened an investigation subsequent to your directive into a dad opposed to mask mandates. The complaint came in through the national threat operations center snitch line that, again, Merrick Garland set up, and alleged that the dad fit the profile of an insurrectionist. Because, quote, he rails against the government, believes all conspiracy theories and has a lot of guns and threatens to use them. When an FBI agent interviewed the complainant, the complainant admitted they had no specific information or observations of any crimes or threats, but they contacted the FBI after learning. The Justice Department had a website to submit tips to the FBI in regards to any concerning behavior directed towards school boards. You see how this works, folks? You give them a snitch line and then every wacko left left wing crazy starts calling in conservatives.

The FBI Is Spying on Parents: A Timeline

"29th, the school board association sends a letter to the Biden White House. 5 days later on October 4th, Merrick Garland issues this memorandum with a press release that lays out and puts a snitch line together to go after parents, then 16 days later, the FBI sends out the email that establishes this threat tag designation that was put on these parents. In 22 days. So I have this letter printed out here from Jim Jordan and Mike Johnson, who's the ranking member on the subcommittee on the constitution civil rights civil liberties, and it's addressed to the honorable Merrick Garland. He says in sworn testimony before this committee, you denied that the Department of Justice or its components were using counter terrorism statutes and resources to target parents at school board meetings. We now have evidence that contrary to your testimony, the FBI is labeled at least dozens of investigations into parents with a threat tag created by the FBI's counter terrorism division to assess and track investigations related to school boards. These cases, now listen closely, include investigations into parents upset about mask mandates. And state elected officials who publicly voiced opposition to vaccine mandates. These investigations into concerned parents are the direct result of and would not have occurred but for your directive to federal law enforcement to target these categories of people. These laying down the gauntlet, both of these representatives are. Laying down the gauntlet saying, this would not have happened, had you not directed the FBI to do so. So what is this testimony that they are referencing? To play cut one ten, this is Merrick Garland assuring Congress, under sworn testimony under oath that the Department of Justice was not using its resources to target concerned parents. Cut one ten. I can't imagine any circumstance in which the Patriot Act would be used in the circumstances of parents complaining about their children, nor can I imagine the circumstance where they would be labeled as domestic terrorism. So then why mister Garland, honorable mister Garland? Are you using counter terrorism tools to label these concerned parents about mask mandates and vaccine mandates, which, by the way, they will be proven completely true. They basically already are. They will be absolutely vindicated. This show will be vindicated, concerned parents across the country will be vindicated. Because masks did not work, they did not stop the spread, nor will they ever. Nevertheless, this is the state of things as they now stand that if parents express concern, if they voice their opposition, they were surveilled by the FBI using counter terrorism tools. We now know

Did FBI Target Parents Despite Garland's Sworn Testimony?

"Breaking last night from congressman Jim Jordan, who's going to be joining the show next week when Charlie is back. From his much needed vacation, he's going to be detailing what he's uncovered. There is a whistleblower, a smoking gun with new information that shows the FBI used terrorism tools to target concerned parents. This is despite attorney general Merrick Garland's assurances to Congress, under sworn testimony, mind you that the Department of Justice was not using its resources to target concerned parents. And now a whistleblower is confirming that the FBI has labeled dozens of you as with a special counter terrorism label in its investigation. Now, I want to play some sound here to build this out. Now, how did we get here? Let's play cut one 12. This is Jim Jordan on Jesse watters prime time last night, play cut one 12. And again, if you're a mom, you're a dad, you're a gun owner, you're a Republican, and you're standing up for your kids. Oh my goodness, look out because here comes the FBI. And again, in a direct contradiction to what he told us under oath in the committee. And never forget that this Jesse, look, remember how quickly this happened. September 29th, the school board association sends a letter to the Biden White House. 5 days later, October 4th, Merrick Garland issues this memorandum that lays out this snitch line together, go after parents, and then 16 days later, the FBI sends out the email that's establishes this threat tag designation that was put on these parents. All that happened last fall in 22 days. When have you ever seen the federal government move that fast? So they moved that fast because they were going after people. As you just pointed out, just like the Obama White House went after a new Obama IRS went after conservative same dynamic here,

Brave Republicans Confront DOJ About Whitmer 'Entrapment'

"A handful of Intrepid Republicans, and it's, it shouldn't be a handful. It should be the Republicans in a unified political phalanx. But no, it takes the brave ones to go out front. And here I'm talking about, I'm gonna name them. It's led by Marjorie Taylor Greene, but you've got Scott Perry, Dan bishop, Andrew Clyde, Andy Biggs, bob good, Mary Miller, Paul gosar, Andy Harris, Louie gohmert, Thomas massie Matt Gaetz, well, what are they doing? In the aftermath of the exoneration of two key defendants in the Whitmer kidnapping trial, the pressing attorney general Garland for some specific answers. Now, trying to get answers out of Garland is not an easy business. This is like going to the consigliere of Don Corleone and saying, hey, listen, we're we want to find out more about the mafia. You're actually talking to the mafia. But nevertheless, this needs to be done. And so this is a stinging letter and a demand. Of Merrick Garland copied a Christopher wray, and the questions themselves are telling, let me just read a couple of them. Who within the DoJ and the FBI knew about or was involved in the plot to kidnap governor Whitmer, tell us. Remember, this is a letter being sent by the legislators to the executive branch, which is accountable to the legislative branch. Number two, to what extent would the DoJ and the FBI motivated by the 2020 presidential election to paint political opponents as domestic terrorists specifically Vis-à-vis the plot to kidnap governor Whitmer and the events of the U.S. capitol on January 6th, 2021. In other words, this is not just at the FBI staging orchestrating infiltrating and moving along a plot. This is the FBI timing those events to coincide with an election. So the issue here being raised is the election interference, very important issue because these revelations came to light in early October of 2020.

Well, this is what we're all about. I don't want to hang out with politicians. I don't want politicians on my show. This is from the public schools authority that have embraced the insanity of gender politics play cuts. Unchanged that will be implemented this school year relates to our school bathrooms and compliance with new federal guidelines all CPS students and staff will have fair and equitable access to bathroom facilities that align with their gender identity. We will be providing all schools with updated signage that makes our bathrooms more inclusive. It will identify the fixtures available in each restroom and make it clear that all restrooms are open for use by anyone who feels comfortable. Staph will continue to have staff only restrooms available to them. This is an incredibly important step to increase gender equity for all, which is why we will be requiring all schools to post this signage by December 1st of this school year. Now, Mary, I grew up in the UK for me. That's a Monty Python skit from 40 years ago. Fair and equitable. Don't we just need a men's and a women's toilet? Yeah, it's outrageous. What's happening? But no doubt that they're doing this to be in compliance with the federal guidelines, and I've been having a back and forth on the education committee with the secretary cordona and he sent out a memo to all public schools saying that if you state that there's two genders you are guilty of harassment, which means to actually set harassment harassment, which means teachers and other staff can lose their jobs over this, students can be disciplined for saying there's two genders. Professor hands that we've been talking about the anniversary of Pearl Harbor. We've been talking about the discussion with Putin just a moment to go between The White House and the Kremlin. Let's talk about domestic affairs for a moment. How significant should we take it and how much of a threat to buddy politic done with some kind of normalcy is the raft, the euphoria of subpoenas coming out of the January 6th commission and the attempt to criminalize conservatism. Well, I don't think they're going to go anywhere, but they're trying to create a narrative. They're trying to create two narratives. Donald Trump is satanic, and he's still a danger. And there was a coup revolution on January 6th. You take away those two items. And there's nothing there. They have no other agenda. They lost the Russian collusion hoax. They lost the impeachment frenzy. They can only thrive in periods of frenzy and hysteria. So the movement is waning Joe Biden thought that that narrative that Donald Trump killed 350,000 people due to his laxity and COVID inherited the vaccinations, the epidemic was over. We're all going to be fined by July and then the delta came. And then that narrative was now I don't want to go there anymore. Their attitude. So it's just a narrative. And they don't have anything else. They don't, they can't say, look at the border. Look what we did at the border. Look at inflation. It's only one or 2%. Oh, look at the economy. It's booming. Oh, look at the supply chain. It's wonderful. That great logistical victory. We had in Afghanistan. So I don't know what else they would talk about because they got everything they wanted and they created a desert. How much of an albatross does COVID become, especially when they're tied into this narrative of a new variant on a cron 17 states? I think as of today, professor, we still don't have a fatality, but they're trying to doubt justify more mandates. Will this become perhaps the Achilles heel of this administration? The yeah, I think you're right. I think it's very ironic because they gave us a lot of narratives coming in here, thinking it was going to be over because they would have the vaccine. Every commander in chief responsible from every person who dies during the pandemic. But more people have died now under Biden. All we have to shut down everything, we have to have total quarantine. It's going to be endless and pandemics, but that was because Donald Trump was president. And now that same policy, he's convinced people, the so called karens of his base, that that's the only policy that works even though it doesn't. It's hurting Biden. So all of the what was the opposition talking points really have come back in a boomerang fashion to hurt them. And they need to just say, you know, we're going to have variants and variants and variants, but science says that they tend to be a little bit milder, even as they're more infectious. And then we'll have Therapeutics. I don't know why we've neglected the whole field of Therapeutics, and talking about which regimens work and which alleviate symptoms and it's all been all or nothing on vaccinations. And that's never really accepted in a few cases like polio or smallpox. That's not necessarily been the norm. Surely isn't with influenza in most coronaviruses as well. Will there ever be a reckoning geopolitically for China's culpability when it comes to COVID professor? Boy, I hope so. But they are so brilliant as propagandists. Anytime you try to raise the issue, they sound like they're woke and that we're racist. You don't have Russians don't have they don't even come close to Chinese propaganda with all the students here and join appointments and universities and et cetera. Everybody in the news Sebastian that we see whether it's Michael Bloomberg or general milley or LeBron James or Anthony Fauci or Bill Gates, they have one thing in common. They go easy or they're profiting or partnering with the Chinese. Victor Davis Hanson: Biden Talks Loudly and Carries a Twig

"Professor Hansen, on this day of all days, at years after Pearl Harbor, would you put into context, the current news we are getting a readout right now from the national security adviser on the phone call between the Kremlin and between the current incumbent of The White House, how do you think that call went and when Biden says there will be significant economic consequences for Russia should it invade Ukraine how seriously do you think Vlad took that message? Not very seriously. Biden has a bad habit of talking loudly and carrying a twig. I mean, he's called Putin, a killer, he said he's looking his eyes and he's there's no soul there. That's what he feels. That's fine, but it would have been much wiser to be quieter. And then have real repercussions. The irony, of course, is they've accused Donald Trump of collusion in that hoax, and yet when mercenaries attacked us in Syria, he just killed 200 of them. He got out of that missile agreement that was asymmetrical. He flooded the world with oil that hurt Russia. And he sold offensive weapons to Ukraine, which Biden and Obama would not do and I don't think Biden will do it now. And I could go on, but it's very ironic that the president that even Ukraine seemed to be on easy with Trump, did more for Ukraine and more punitive actions against Putin than any president in memory and yet he was the object of this hoax that suggested he was a colluded with Putin whereas Biden has lost all deterrence partly because of Afghanistan, but also partly the fumes of the Obama Biden administration when they lost, as you remember eastern Ukraine and the Crimea because of the reset policies of Barack Obama and the tell Vlad ease up why I'm up for reelection, hot mic that was indicative of that entire

"My City Council on miles in the middle of the night, throwing it into the heart of do what they do. You're seeing behind me is one of multiple locations that have been burning in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Do not get it twisted and think that this is some something that has not never been before. And then this is so terrible shutter. We need savages, and all of that is how this country was started. Maybe it's just a matter. Don't you, Mr People get sick of it. People are weird. George Cove ID there met. We're risking lane to this country. What? We're fed up. Most off. We've got a major movements in American history have started the grassroots level and at some point have turned into direct conflict with American government there, justice selling it. They're legitimate year history before you judge your present businesses wherever it comes from politically and we should be the first to call it out. I disagree. Oh, They're all excusing pardoning and door sing, um, explaining supporting Oh, no, This is but but that xylitol everything. Then last night, the Tucker Carlson show on the Fox News Channel. They put together a great montage of the left wingers and the media and in politics, explaining that that violence and rioting is he is the voice of the unheard Now, apparently those people on Wednesday they're they're heard and not the unheard. So you know, lead the herd to slaughter, which is their put Tucker Carlson's montage. Of all these Democrats is Martin Luther King, You know, riots are good riots are righteous riots are legitimate riots are justified, which is what that whole other great being montages all about and listen to this one. Ryan's are the language of the unheard. My nicotine for them, just right is the language of the unheard they're not interested in talking about when doctors change said that a riot is the language of the unheard and the implication they begin one little thing with the train. And actually treat folks the way that they deserved, And we wouldn't be in these situations in the first place. Yeah, that's we wouldn't be in these situations in the first place is probably probably now there's a new member of the House of Representatives that I like I saw on television the other day you some audio of her the other day. Her name is Mary Miller, and she's a Republican from the state of Illinois, and she is brand new to Washington. She was sworn in on Sunday and on Wednesday she was evacuated from the capital in a gas man. Ask. Welcome to Washington. Welcome to Congress. Hey, Public service. Well. Mary Miller was at a rally the other day, and she was being critical of the Democrats. And, you know, the Democrats years ago adopted an old phrase of Adolf Hitler's Which is give me the youth and I'll give you the future and that's as an altar. I've used the line here and and it's the Democrats have targeted academia. College campuses, teachers unions, high school curricula school boards across the country in order to infuse the curricula from grammar schools forward with left wing and radical left wing. Ideology and thought, And that's why you know when your child goes off to college, perfectly normal and comes home hating you and capitalism in America. It's because they've turned into indoctrination factories where they don't protect First Amendment rights. Your second Amendment rights, get a free legend or speech or anything, anything at all. They don't protect the bill of rights on college campuses because you know, Lefty's They're not liberals there, Lefty and S. O Mary Miller was at this rally outside the capital. And she used that I've used the pressure and off to used oft cited phrase, And here's the thing the Democrats. There are the embodiment of this phrase. They live that phrase. They don't just use it. They live it They again Give me the youth, and I'll give you a future the schools that campuses they have targeted grammar schools have excuse me a pre schools and kindergartens where they want to go in and tell the kids you don't know what gender you are right and create gender confusion at the earliest possible agent. Anti Americanism and all that good stuff. Mary Miller speaking to this group, right on.

'Hitler was right on one thing': Mary Miller criticized for invoking Adolph Hitler

"A Republican Congress woman sworn into office last weekend drew swift criticism from fellow Republicans for quoting Adolf Hitler. In a speech this week outside the capital, Mary Miller was elected in November to replace Republican jump Shimkus. She spoke during an event by the group Moms for America as demonstrations in support of President Trump began in Washington, D. C. Miller read from prepared remarks, urging the need to appeal to young people and politics, Miller said quote Hitler was right on one thing, he said. Whoever has the youth has the future. Illinois Republicans, including Adam Kinzinger and the state Republican chairman, condemned the comments. Illinois's governor J. B. Pritzker, who's a Democrat and Jewish, called the remarks unfathomable.

"That's Mary Miller for congress dot com. Mary. Thank you for taking some time with us. Thank you so much. I appreciate what you're doing to help us. Get rid of Pelosi. God bless you appreciate that. All right. Let's take a few more calls. The debate won't be for about another 23 or four minutes. When I'm done. I have to thank the commission on presidential debates for that. I'm sure they sat there and said, Look, we've got to do this after the love in show, and I'm just kidding. Chris Winchester, Virginia. The great W M A. L go. Yes, Your honor to speak with you, sir. Thank you. I was I was inspired by President Trump's comments after his experience of Walter Reed. I mean the video they came out about an hour ago. Well, I didn't see the video. I just actually, I heard it on your program, you know, reminded me of seminal moments one you and I both worked on Ronald Reagan's campaign, and I remember during a debate. Said he would not use his opponent's youth and inexperience for game front. It's something about that moment turned the tie when President Bush got up on that rubble pile of the World Trade Center. Hey, really Detain the president for everyone, and and now? I hit President Trump graciously thanking God and his doctors for his renewed health. Alleging that all the citizens will get the same therapy that he was able to get. I mean, it was simultaneous right. You gotta hope people online are going to see this and Fox played it. And hopefully everybody on talk radio plays have clearly these newsrooms around a country. We're not going to play it. They're going to ignore it well, but it it's so clearly shouldn't leadership and humanity of the same time. I don't think they can spend their wear out of it. No, they just ignored century. That they can do. And they will I know I'm an optimist. I I It's not matter of being an optimist or pessimist its reality. I think we've had experience with the press to know they're not going to do it. Well, it's close. And thanks for your call. I mean, It's good to be an optimist. You don't want to be a Polyana. Not that he is, but obviously the media is not going to play that. It's a five minute clip. Has CNN played it? No. As MSNBC played it. No have the network's played it. No, and they're not going to and this is my problem. Each of us have to take control of what's taking place in this country. It's on the Internet. In going to President Trump's cites his Twitter site, take that video and sent it all around. Everybody on your list, family friend and foe. It's not well, I'm an optimist. They're going to run it on CNN. No, they're not. Come on, guys. We really have to harden up to this, Don't you think, Mr Producer I'm an optimist. Sure they're going. They hate his guts. They hate our guts. Don't be an optimist. Be a realist via fighter, a fighter. Take the video and circulated to everyone, you know. Sit around a wait premise. NBC gonna believe in the human species. Now let's go. Come on, take control. Please. Would be absurd not to Boy. Jason Kensington, Maryland. I guess your w ay may all country too. How are you, Jason? Good. My hairdo. And I, uh, just going on your economy question earlier that I made the last three years of the Obama presidency pretty much for May. I'm in a Business. That is kind of like gets on the chuck a luck once you kind amigo Shaft. I'm an artist. I have a small lots of Judea and I could say in the last two years I've had more work in the last two years of the head in the last 20 years combined. And if I mentioned at the people I did just basically you're a lawyer. But it's just it's just been a phenomenal I mean, the business has picked up and you know these people keep talking about inherited, inheriting bed. Big economies trumps just come along and said, Listen and care What economy is. I want to give the pail back to the American worker and they're going. They're going to bring it out for us, and they have And and by the way, let me decide here, Jason. Basically, when you look at 110 Page Communist, I mean, Ah Sanders bide manifesto. All they talk about there. Is strengthening their constituency groups They want to strengthen unions. They won't expand unions. This's what they talk about. Not about labor freedom. I call it not about business freedom, not about capitalism, not about creating prosperity and opportunity. Where people really do have a chance to change their lives. There's none of that in there. It's all government programs. Government redistribution well, government steal from this person give you this person, all kinds of affirmative action in there. It just goes on and on and on and on. It is a disaster. An absolute disaster. Thank you for your call, My friend. I want to get through as many as I can. Danny, Los Angeles, California They great Carla 8 70 the answer. Go. Hi. So I've lived instead of California my entire life. I'm six years old, and I have never ever seen so much support. Florida president in my entire life. I drive down the highway. No, let's let's Yes you have. Reagan won the state. Donald Trump is not going to win California. I want you to vote for him. I want his many people as possible. But anecdotally, maybe so. But the fact is that President Trump is not going to win the state, which is why he's not campaigning there. He may not. But there are trucks and there are pop up all over the place with Trump. Here. There are trucks driving down the highway with huge flag from pet I've seen maybe 10 Biden. Um Harris Signs yard. Well, now, have you been around l A and pet my life. Have you been around Los Angeles? Hello? Yes, I'm intercounty. But Okay, then I think you'll see a lot of Biden signs around Ella in San Francisco. Places like that so much help because I've never seen alright. Thanks for your call. All right. Well, there you he's gonna win California, Mr Producer. Saying CNN's gonna run the video guess Know what else to say. Well, there you go. I'm glad you're happy. That's good. One of many people to vote for the president. I don't care what state you're in. We've got to run up the popular vote as much as possible because we know what the propaganda is. With you in California in New York and New Jersey. Vote vote Vote Vote vote Absolutely. You've never seen as much enthusiasm. That's just not the case in California went for Reagan twice it actually went for George H. W. Bush. They've destroyed the state. They've changed the demographics. They've changed the population of the state. And so there just aren't enough Republicans in the state anymore. That's what they did. What does covert 19 have to do with losing your home a lot. The FBI reported that since the virus struck cyber crime is up 75%, and it gets worse. The legal title to all.

"Looked around the country. It's some of the best candidates and some of the best district where we can flip CCT. And one of them is the Illinois 15th Congressional District. Marey Miller's running there. Mary Miller for Congress. Mary, How are you? I'm great. Thank you so much mark for having me on. I've been a listener and a fan of yours for years. Thank you. Well, then I'm all for you. I don't know. I really appreciate that. So, Mary, tell the country a little bit about yourself. Sure. So I have a degree in business and in elementary education, And for the last 40 years, my husband and I have run a grain and Angus Cattle farm. Here in East central Illinois. We have a small beef business also, Um, I've been involved in education and we've raised seven Children, and I'm proud to say that every one of them is a committed conservative. We've just only seven. Only seven. I'm Hardy. Um, we just welcomed our 17th grandchild. And I kind of visualized myself a little bit like a mama bear charging out of the thicket. To protect her cubs because this is a turning point in our nation. And I'm impassioned about wanting our Children to recognize our country and I want them to have access to the same opportunities that we've all had to pursue The American dream. And it's going to be quite a privilege to represent my friends and neighbors here in the Illinois 15 Have you held public office before? I have not. So you have the citizen representative. I am. And at first I was kind of insecure about it. But I decided I represent two things that are foundational to our country. And one of them is a small business and agriculture is foundational to our economy, and a foundation to our society is the family. And I'm going to be proud to support both of those. What about your opponent? Well, I haven't seen much of her. Um she hasn't actually lived in the district at long. I've lived here a long time. And I do feel confident that I represent the District and course with the help Of you and your listeners. I do believe that I'm going to win in November, and I'm going to carry the conservative message to D C and be an avid supporter of our great President. President Trump's Now is your opponent, a huge liberal. I mean, sort of an out of stater polar on every issue, so I'm up just a classical constitutional conservative. And she is You know she's the opposite. And she's not. If people want to help you marry. Where did they go? Got to Mary Miller for Congress, and I would really a present dot com Mary Miller for congress dot com. Yes. And how is it looking on the ground? There is your opponent raising a lot of money. Um not as much as I've been raising and I'm out about the district more, Um, course you know, I have to work around Governor Pritzker's locked down. But I have a great team of volunteers. I mount the district. Actually, today I I had three events and Vandalia, Illinois, which is home to the old Illinois state capital. And also home to President Lincoln's, uh, the beginning of his political career, and it was Van Dalia. It's a place where he made his first public protest of slavery. So Um, I'm you know, just out about our district. He'd be. Ah, very upset about what's happened to his state of Illinois. I could tell you that I don't recognize. No, he wouldn't recognize it. Now, how's your ground game? We have many volunteers. I d'oh. I have, um some youth working for us and then local people, um And you know the Republican Party's throughout the district have been very helpful. Also, so, folks, if you want to help Mary Miller in this district, that's crucial. It's one of the crucial districts we want to hold onto here. It's Illinois 15th. And if you live in that district, you can help Mary Miller volunteer, particularly the praising son Election Day. If you're not in that district, or if you are Ah, she needs our support. Maura, these folks weaken support..

"We are so grateful to our launch partners founding partner PNG and Bank of America together. We're bringing you something good every day and it wouldn't be possible without their support. Welcome to this episode of here's something good a production of the Seneca Women Podcast, work and iheartradio. Each day we aspire to bring you the good news. The silver lining the glass half full because there is good happening in the world everywhere everyday. We just need to look for in share it. Here's something good for today. As we all know. The Corona virus has made a deep dent in the US economy, but the US is a resilient country. The current crisis won't last forever. And even this economic downturn can present new lessons and opportunities. Today! We're speaking with Mary Miller. WHO has the expertise to help us understand what's going on right now? And what tomorrow may hold? Mary was appointed to help lead the US recovery. After the two thousand eight recession, she was the first woman to serve as the undersecretary for domestic finance at the US Treasury Department I spoke with Mary back in mid April when this country was only a few weeks into the pandemic I'm delighted to have her back for a fresh perspective on the last three months, and how we can all move forward. Thanks so much for joining us. Sure to be here, so We last spoke very early on in the pandemic from your perspective what has changed in the US economy since then what he thinks positive, and what continues to be tough. So when we last talked, we were really at the front end of this and I think the speed at depths of the recession hit us very hard. I would say that we have likely seen the worst. We went from three and a half percent unemployment to almost fifteen percents on employment and two months. Now we're back to eleven percent. We're making some progress on bringing jobs back. We've gotten about a third of the fact that we lost so it feels like we are. Working our way back. There's still a lot of worries. There's an uneven recovery across the country. Everyone's watching the experience of different states. There's plenty to worry about, but there's also a lot of signs of progress to and I think. The the work that's going on in the healthcare field to respond more effectively to develop vaccines. All of that is very positive, so I think the economy is beginning to stabilize and come back I? Think the Rogovin longer than what anyone anticipated when we were talking about this back in March and April, but there's also a lot of opportunities here. We have very low cost of credit. We have very massive response from governments at all levels to help individuals and businesses in the country and I think that people who are willing to look ahead confined plenty to be positive about. Small businesses especially women owned businesses have been hit pretty hard. Evidence that though small businesses are are able to pivot pivot or look ahead as you said, are there new growth areas or opportunities that you feel small business owners are taking advantage of. I think the answer has to be yes, and no, because I think it's very company specific, maybe even industry specific. The experience of a restaurant is very different from the experience of a grocery store. For example so I think to be successful here you do have to be able to pivot in a steak berry hard about how you can serve the economy as we know it today, and the needs that we see in the economy, and I think people who've been able to see those opportunities have had an easier time of it I think people who've been able to navigate all of the. Programs whether from the private sector or the public sector to take advantage of that has enabled a pivot more easily. Some industries. Of course you know are doing extremely well talking to someone. Who Works for lows and said everyone's fixing their house. We're just very very busy and providing in a products for people so I mean I think looking around the landscape and seeing where those pockets of strength are trying to take advantage of them as very key. Are there any new programs assistant programs that have launched the last few months that you feel should be at the top of women owned businesses lists. I follow things like Bloomberg, philanthropies has a daily read out of covid nineteen assistance across the country where it's. It's really highlighting good experience in different cities and location so I try to pay attention to that, because there's so many good examples of things happening, I also think if you look at your location. Cities are providing grants and loans for small businesses. States are providing those in some cases, the early amounts of assistance were completely exhausted quickly now getting replenished, and of course everyone's watching Washington to see whether they'll be follow on to the paycheck. Protection Program to some of the assistance that was provided through the cares act and afterward so. It's really just staying awake. And and paying attention to what's there and taking advantage of things I also look at websites like pitchbook to see what sort of equity capital venture capital is happening, and how assistance is being provided to start ups in more entrepreneurial efforts, so this quite a bit out there, but you have to stay your toes, and you have to be very vigilant I guess and move quickly. Are there things that are make you optimistic right now I. Always say never bet against the US I think that as a country we are very resilient and I've seen extraordinary acts of kindness. I've seen extraordinary acts of assistance that people are providing and and women are particularly adept. I think at seeing needs and jumping in and I think women working from home today have really got a tough assignment. They are juggling like they've never juggled the four, but I also see that you know. Families are getting closer friends or staying in touch, you know people are looking out for each other in ways that we might not have imagined. Six months ago I think a lot of what I hear from. People as I have a better sense of what's important, and I have a better sense of what I need to do to provide for my family and for myself well, it's always wonderful to talk to you about what is happening in the economy, and what's on the horizon to thanks so much for joining US Mary. Absolutely, it's always fun to talk to you. Thank you. It's so great to catch up with. Mary. I WANNA. Thank her for a great conversation and her much-needed insight. So here's something good for today. While this recession has been tough on everyone and on the economy it's also brought out the good in so many Americans and in some ways reset our priorities. Neighbors are looking after neighbors and people are putting an emphasis on their relationships for those who need economic help. Additional economic relief programs have sprung up in the last few months. Finally we can all take a lesson in educated optimism from Mary as Mary says. Don't bet against the US economy. It may take awhile, but Americans are resilient and we'll be back..

"Brains character is like teaching him how to have sex with his wife so that I like it's not a scary for him because I think he has had sex with his wife right is that he had yes. No no no. I didn't have no okay different movie different pornos the other night but that's a good point because <hes> with a Selby's celibacy thing I I have like four friends ourselve- it and they asked me this question about you know I keep dating these guys on bumble and tinder. They say they're okay with being me being Selva. They're always hinting at having sex and trying to have sex with me. Like what do I do and will I always be single. That's what they asked me and I'm like you. Just gotTa keep trying to find the right guy but what what are your thoughts on the yeah. I I mean to me. The the if somebody shared with me that their desire for themselves was to remain celebrate or no matter what their desire for themselves is actually doesn't even have to be around this around sex but <hes> you know I'm a respect the person for what they want want to support support them in that if it doesn't match my own desires then it's probably not a match like you know if if my expectation is that they should change their mind to accommodate me the that's probably not healthy so you know I my guess is that there are males who match their values. My guess is so it's just how do you find that right person. The thing I'm I'm curious about. Is You know I wanNA talk to the guy that puts the pressure on the girl once. He's heard that her desire for herself as to wait till marriage because I think it's really interesting that you get that information and then you decide. You're going to change their mind. I'm like Komo. Let's I'm curious about that in this front is beautiful and and I'm like this is not the only guy in the world I think she's kind of clinging to him because she thinks she can't find anybody better which is not right not true in my hi opinion yeah well and then I wonder like how what other topics that are of importance. How else does this play out you know because one of the things I notice in working with couples that sex is really a metaphor oftentimes for other other aspects of the relational dynamic <hes> not always but often? I noticed that so you know <hes> because what she's doing is expressing something that's really important <unk> her and she is looking for support on it and so if you know the person is kind of trying to convince her or talker into something else you know maybe she should look at that. What does that mean for the relationship say that at the beginning of my celibacy I struggled with just passing everything coming into what sex was right more being able to like not having coitus? It's fine. I can still have oral so I struggled with finding out what's setting quotas in China versus mandatory tax so I I like struggled at the beginning like with that right so there was a little few of trial and error and then eventually I was like isn't it got to the parole. Say is masturbation also part of this like 'em I like am I supposed to like because this is my own rolling. This was my own thing that I wanted to do and yes. A little bit was based on like just religious upbringing and values but I was like I don't know what to do. It was like it was weird you do. I'm so curious. Yeah I know world talks beginning like oral sex was not a part of it and so that was kind of fun but then I was like now like now I wanNa see if I'm GonNa go all in like I wanna go all and and then it got towards the end it got to the point like maybe like two years in like even masturbation was like not even a part of it for awhile because as I just wanted to see if like I want to challenge myself is what it came down to see if I could or couldn't and then towards the end now let's bring it back. Let's bring masturbation behind because but is it. Is it all about the orgasm though like you just wanted to get to the orgasm so it didn't matter which method you used list or were you really as you like a particular method. I don't even know question. I'm kidding no because like for guys. I don't get what <music> asking for guys it's like as long as we orgasm most of us for good. It doesn't matter whether it's oral or you know we're masturbating say like it's I to me like I could imagine <hes> a couple like the one you just shared some of your friend if she says well I agree to oral sex that the guy would say yeah but why not penetrative sex so or like if you're worried about you know if I put any over Janik and just put it up here but in the next yeah yeah I think people so to me if anybody's pressuring you to do something you don't really want to do and they're not supporting choice making that you think you know for your own self at a vacation or development as a person then you need to probably really think about that relationship and I yeah yeah where my boundaries I was like oh I don't have sex ex but like I'll do oral you know kind of deal and that was always like a compromise for that was like no. I don't WanNa do that anymore. Because I really want to like see if I can be can she got without sex. Oh so it's like a test for you. It was for a Wiley was it depends on why the person is being celebrate because some people are doing it for religious reasons. Oh this is these are most of my friends and then it's. I think they that from what I've when I've talked the people who are making that decision for religious resents the fear is that they're going to put themselves you know if they if if they increase different kinds of sexual other sexual behaviors that they're going to put themselves in a position where they may not be able to say no now. It's like if you decide not to drink. You may not go to the bar because you put yourself in a position where you may not want to say no but so you know I think that again if if a partner is pressuring you to do stuff you don't want to do you probably that may translate into other aspects of your life not just sex yeah I think I think I think Mary talks about a common theme. I know we've been talking forever. We'll talk forever but talks about the values like matching values and I dated somebody BEF- maybe you're ago where she did not want kids and I wanna have kids and then we ended up. Not you know breaking it up because of that and so that's the same thing with being celebrated right right and it's mature like what a mature decision. I'm so involved right now I just I like I as a couple Serapis. I really appreciate that because I usually get the couple where they decided. I will figure it out later later and they're married you know yeah and then it becomes an issue so I think you know as a person who's dated as a person who's loved people like when you decide to walk away from something because the values don't don't match and you really can't find a compromise I think that says how much you respect the other person and how much you respect yourself and that's something to really be admired <hes> <hes> Emma. What do you have anymore questions for for Mary anything <hes> we went through a lot and we can? I feel like we don't even scratched the surface with with super deep but stuff. What can I say? Go not let me see Oh. We had just one question. We had a couple here that was in in. What do they call an open relationship? I I felt like the guy wanted more than she did. She was kind of talked into it but then she says I like it. Now I like it but but I feel like she doesn't like it and so I would say you know I don't know if where you're going with that like but I picked up on the gender part of it and I've had just as many females as clients who really wanted to convince their male partners to be an open relationships. I really don't think this is about the man convincing the woman but when a couple is exploring that option you know again we're talking about the values always start there. What does it mean and why now what are the rules 'cause? There's a when you decide to open up your relationship like that. They're usually it usually comes with quite a bit of roles and I think people do it. Sometimes they're trying to safeguard their relationship ship against him fidelity. Oh wow the reality is that even couples in open marriages have infidelity right so it's not necessarily going to net you that solution but <hes> I I mean it's it's becoming more as actually a a type couple that I'm seeing more and more up so I don't know if that means there's more of them. Are there just happened to be finding the right to me but <hes> I mean you know we all oh got options. So what what's the age group that you typically see couples so adults. I hope so I mean most adults. It depends on what they're coming in for so so I'd say you know I've had couples in their early twenties but I'd say most people are around like twenty eight on up <hes> so thirty plus ish yeah so for the thirty a-plus ish single person. Are there any tips or recommendations or something like that about about specifically sex. I mean you've talked a lot about values but yeah I mean what do you have for them. That's a good question I have tips for sex for thirtysomethings more single actually though if I can give one tip in I don't know if this will get to what you want but it's no yourself herself sexually first before you try to get to know somebody else and take responsibility for your own pleasure instead of handing the responsibility over to the partner and being unsatisfied because he didn't says yes yes yes yes because really when you can go into a sexual encounter knowing that that is for you and not for the other person and you can take charge of that of your own pleasure like that can really make the difference in your sexual encounters and <hes> I think I think when I talk to men what men usually tell me is that they appreciate a partner who knows what they want and can give them feedback yeah and <hes> so I think you know if most of your listeners during sex or after it doesn't matter Dir even during like even some direction like Oh. I like that do more of that. I think a lot of men I see appreciate that because they're not sure if what they're doing is right. You know that's true yeah so for women you know really understanding your own body understanding what you like and then being able to communicate that to your partner. That's probably the number one thing I would recommend communication. Yeah you gotTa Talk Nice. That's the hardest part it starts with that yeah but you know here's the analogy I would give like if you're going on a date and you wanted to make the person's favorite meal. Let's say you're going to cook because you're not me. Niece Soup are and I'm not bad at it but if you were going to go if you're going to prepare your your date partners favorite meal you would need to know what it was and you may even need the recipe <hes> so you know this is about communicating getting the information nations that you can make sure they're getting what they want and applies to socks to oh. That's that's so deep. He's a lot okay Emma. What do you have to take away from from this? Whole conversation about a ton of questions and topics of sex even thinks that Mary hates which I learned a few things that sheets? I knew Mary wasn't a huge fan of Texas. I already knew that money so they've come a long way. You have a long way. She really has breath.

"We don't give one-size-fits-all so I don't know if you remember the last time I was on the show. I talked a lot about values. Yes and understanding what your values are around sex and you know it it differs from client to client <hes> so I have some clients who think sacks is strictly just for physical release. They don't really see it as uh you know deeper emotional connection and they would have sex they wouldn't think about they wouldn't even think of that question so for somebody asking that question. I'm guessing that sex has more meaning that they feel more bonded are connected to somebody <hes> and and so I you know I'd WanNa know. Do you know where the other person is like. What what is this relationship mean to them or they just dating to date or they they see this as a relationship? That's going further <hes> and then you know one of the ground rules that I have is like if you can't talk about sex with the person you're probably it. It may not be time. So when do you talk about it like I do. You have a conversation.
