Elizabeth Fry, The Prison Angel

"Hello from Wonder Media Network. I'm Jenny Kaplan and this is encyclopedia Monica. Today's activist was a major proponent of prison reform in Britain. She's known as the Angel of prisons. Let's talk about Elizabeth Fry. Elizabeth Gurney was born in Norwich Norfolk in seventeen eighty to a wealthy quaker family. Her Father John was a successful banker and her mother Catherine was a member of the family that founded Barclays Bank which still operates is one of the largest banks in the world. Elizabeth was the odd one out amongst her siblings. She experienced mood swings and had difficulty learning which biographers attribute to her dyslexia. Elizabeth once said I was thought and called very stupid and obstinate I certainly did not like learning nor did I believe attend my lessons when Elizabeth was twelve years old her mother passed away and Elizabeth was left to care for her younger sisters and brothers. Eighteen hundred at the age of twenty. Elizabeth Mary Joseph Fry London banker and quaker together. They had many children most sources say eleven, five sons and six daughters though some sources suggest that had even more kids. Elizabeth was an observant quaker and frequently worshipped at the Friends Meeting House. It was there the she heard Williams savory preach about the importance of altruism and philanthropy. His words inspired Elizabeth to help those in need. In eighteen thirteen elizabeth visited newgate prison, which was notorious for its filthy state and its dismal treatment of its prisoners. Elizabeth was appalled to see such harsh conditions. Women and children were tightly packed in small spaces with little room to wash themselves or cleaned their clothes, and while many of the newgate prisoners had committed severe crimes, some of them had not. And others hadn't even received a trial. Elizabeth was determined to act the next day she returned to the prison with fresh loaves of bread and clean clothes, but she had sewn herself. She distributed them to the prisoners and encourage them to keep their cells clean and find ways to be hygienic in the oppressive environment. Elizabeth didn't come back to newgate until eighteen sixteen due to financial difficulties within her family. But upon her return, she dove back into the Work Elizabeth educated the children of Newgate who were imprisoned with their parents teaching them practical skills like reading and selling. In eighteen seventeen, Elizabeth founded the Association for the improvement of female prisoners along with twelve other women she worked to advance prison reform and to provide female prisoners with education and tools for employment Elizabeth fought for the idea that prison should be based round rehabilitation rather than punishment she wrote it must indeed be acknowledged that many of our own penal provisions as they produced no effect appear to have no other end the punishment of the guilty. Eighteen nineteen Elizabeth wrote prisons and Scotland in the north of England and encouraged her society friends to visit newgate themselves. At. That time Britain was in the practice of sending prisoners to penal colonies in. North. America Australia and India. At newgate. Prisoners en route to be transferred to convict ships, rebound by chains and unable to move around and tiny carts people in the streets pelted them with garbage. Elizabeth convinced the governor of new gate to carry the women enclosed carriages rather than open ones and to ensure that all the women and children had enough food to eat on their voyage. Elizabeth also gave the prisoner sewing tools, bibles and other necessities to accompany them on their long journeys. With the help of her efforts, the act of transporting criminals so far away lands was prohibited in eighteen, thirty seven. Prior to that change in policy Elizabeth visited every convict ship bound for Australia for more than twenty five years. Throughout the eighteen twenties, Elizabeth inspected prison conditions and continued to advocate for the rights of prisoners. She presented her findings to the House of Commons committee in doing. So she became the first woman to present evidence to parliament. Elizabeth's ideas influenced the eighteen twenty three jails act which introduced a series of prison

Doomsday Parents, Chad And Lori Daybell

"Laurie Velo Bouza forty, six year old mother of three married a fifty one year old father of five Chad Day bill. On November fifth two thousand nineteen in Kauai Hawaii. Chad's wife for close to thirty years. Tammy. Day. Bill have been found dead in her home just two weeks earlier. So obviously, they didn't waste much time remarrying. Stunningly Quick Tammy was in apparently healthy forty, nine year old woman infectious training for a marathon. Just, ten days before her death, which was October ninth two, thousand, Nineteen Tammy reported on facebook and the police that masked man had shouted her with what she thought could be a paint gun what's going on there right? Exactly. The other very interesting aspect is Laurie and Chad had picked out and ordered their wedding bands more than two weeks before Tammy Steph. That's right. Shoe on that one for a while right so October fourth to fifth tammy visited her parents Beck in Springville. Utah, where she's from and then a few days later on October nine, a man ski mask was shooting at her so I guess the police decided it was just some kind of prank because she thought it was a paint gun and they never found the guy, but it's very curious. WHOA, it is and it's really just the tip of the iceberg in this really strange case with all the suspicious occurrences just everything surrounding lawyer and Chad, his mess and very suspicious of course. Yes that's an understatement. So Chad Chad Day Bell is lawry's fifth husband. Laurie was born Laurie Noreen Cox June twenty sixth of Nineteen seventy-three in San Bernardino California and she grew up with two brothers Alex and Adam and two sisters Stacey and summer Alex Cox plays a really large role in this whole story so you need to remember him Adam lives in Kansas and he's worked as a radio personality, but he's pretty much out of the whole seen as far as we know so far. Stacy Cox died in her parents home when she was just twenty two years old and this was from complications of type one diabetes lorries remaining living sister Cox shift. Let was one of lorries, biggest defenders until June of this year, and that's when the remains of her children jj entirely were discovered on the property of Chad debacle. Now, people who knew Lori will have said that she really became a person after she became involved with shed she had been considered an excellent mother. And a good friend to many many years ago back in high school Lori was a happy energetic cheerleader at nineteen years of age. She married her high school sweetheart Nelson Jawans. This marriage is over within a year. Then when she was twenty two in Nineteen ninety-five Laurie Mary twenty-three-year-old. William but Sheila, and this marriage was in Travis County Texas. They had a son named Colby in one, thousand, nine, hundred, ninety six, and they ended up divorcing in nineteen. Ninety eight. So, by the time, she was twenty five years old she'd been married and divorced twice already. See and she has one child, and then in two thousand. One Lori Mary Joseph Ryan Joe Converted to Mormonism, and that was the religion it Laurie had been raised in. He didn't legally adopt coby coby took his last name. and. He and Laurie had a daughter together. That's highly in two, thousand, two and two, thousand, four in August Joe filed for divorce from Laurie. And it was finalized in two thousand five. In two, thousand, six, Joe Ryan filed a complaint with the court stating Lori was not complying with the visitation order. He asked she'd be held in contempt then August two, thousand, seven Joe is attacked by Laura's brother Alex. For. This guy chases show around with stun gun. He tased him twice and he threatened to kill him. Yes. So I'm going to ask probably a stupid question is this because of the divorce or because he took her back to court. I'm thinking it was related to the custody issue because the divorce was already finalized been finalized for over a year. But you know she was also looking at some trouble because she was in contempt of court. She wasn't bringing tighly for her visits and she was keeping tidily away from him. So, Alex Laura's brother was very protective of her and actually seemed obsessed at the time with killing Joe. Ryan the incident happened when Joe was leaving a supervised visit with his daughter Kylie and the attack ended when an eyewitness showed up. So Alex, pled guilty to aggravated assault resulting in serious bodily injury and ended up serving ninety days in jail, and this was in Austin Texas. But the custody battle between Joe and Laurie over tighly really got very dark at one point Laurie head to install cameras in the children's rooms and in the living room for the court to see what was going on in her house. But no abuse apparently was found from that camera footage but just so you know this was a really nasty custody situation. You're S, and then we have Joe Dying in April of two thousand, eighteen still young man. This was determined to be a heart attack they did not topsy, but then he his remains were cremated. This whole time has custody battle with over Retali- had continued to be ongoing, right? I. Believe he was fifty nine but he was pretty healthy and there were some strange things about his autopsy as well. Roy Yeah now the court documents say that Joe Ryan accused Laurie of parental alienation alleging that he had not seen his daughter for more than a year at one point. And he also referred to a court appointed psychologist who had interviewed Lori. And according to court paperwork the psychologist David, our pool

"Thousand miners illegally crossed our border. And December nearly twenty five percent of those were unaccompanied. This is the crisis on the border, and the Democrats wouldn't even listen to detective home. She meat department of homeland security secretary Kirsten Nielsen they wouldn't even listen humor and Pelosi interrupting her how does that help? They don't care about the border anymore. They really they're trying to say we'll we'll put in one point six billion for border security, but not a penny for the wall. Wait a second. Why wouldn't you want the wall walls, don't work? Everybody tells you they do the the facts on the ground show, you they do every place they've been used. It's reduced illegal crossing by ninety to ninety five percent. The facts on the ground show, you the works. You don't want it because it's a Trump victory. You don't want it because your base will go beserk if you allow a wall to be built you don't want it because you think illegal immigrants are going to become voters for you one day or their children will that's why you don't want the wall. You don't think we should even have a border anymore? Now, you say you do, but then you don't want any of our laws enforced. We have sanctuary cities in California that allowed a guy who had been deported before who is in the country illegally. Who would then had another DUI to not be reported to isolate he can be removed because the sanctuary city policy for him to be allowed back on the streets Ellen? He was stopped for another DUI. He killed off saying that's the allegation well dishes. What you're? You know, that just doesn't work any more. This is how crazy the left has gotten this guy on MSNBC live with Stephanie rule last night. He is a liberal radio host frequent MSNBC guests newsbusters, pointing it out. His name is Mark Thompson. And he he started complaining about federal workers not getting their paychecks. And then said this. We don't hear a lot from John Jellicoe is on this. He was talking about as far as the walls concerns. You know, we just celebrated the birth of Jesus who's part of an immigrant families seeking political asylum in another country from king Herod violence. We don't hear a lot from the van on this police should because if they were true to themselves if Jesus word today or Trump was back, then he would have been separated from his parents Joseph and Mary would have been put on a separate detention center. He would have been putting the suburbs extension center, and he likely died in custody like another child did over the holidays. I mean, that's just over the top. That is just unbelievable. So let's take a point by point. Okay. First of all Jesus, Mary and Joseph. We're not illegal aliens they were moving from one area of the Roman empire to another area of the Roman empire. If we're going to go historically king Herod Judea, Houston king. But he was under the Romans and he had to ask them permission to do. Things and in Egypt. That was also part of the Roman empire going between those two areas was legal. There was no illegal entry by Jesus Mary Joseph into Egypt. Stop it. It's just not historically accurate. Okay. Then we move onto this next thing of maybe they would die of Jesus was in government custody. Because you know, we had people who were dying in government custody. Well, both of those children that died in our custody had actually been helped by our medical people while they were in custody. One of them, the father refused further medical treatment, and they came into our custody ill. And that's part of what our department film security is trying to tell the Democrats. There is a crisis along the border either way. If you come into the country legally at a legal port of entry to claim a Silom, you're not separated from your family. And the Obama administration rejected about eighty percent of asylum seekers from Central American countries while he was in office. But other than that. Yeah. Great combination create analogy gray comparison. It's just there's there's nothing they won't stoop to in calling you names in order to get what they want eight hundred eight hundred eighty nine ninety nine get you on board the program eight hundred eighty one eighty nine ninety nine let me get Jim in as well, Jim you are on the show. My name's Greg Knapp filling in go right ahead. Are you doing today doing well? Yes, sir. Go right ahead. I let me say I am a registered democrat. And I believe that the Russian investigation spiraled into something that it should never have gone to. It's ridiculous. I believe in the border wall. It needs to be building needs to be done. I need to fund the money and be through with it. I am absolutely ashamed. Call myself a democrat right now. What what do you think that has pushed? What they've stepped in. Jim. The new class. That's come in there, quite a few of them that will call themselves socialist. I mean, they're open about it. And they really think that the way to fix this country is more redistribution of the wealth higher taxes. They've really gone far far left. What where do you see your party going? And how do you think this happened? Well, like, I said there's a lot of people that need to actually wake up they need to think about what they're doing. And they need to look back at history just a little bit. If they look at that. They will they'll see that the policies the humor's the people that are in charge right now really don't need to be there. I appreciate it. And I hate to say that. Because like I said, I am a democrat. But I appreciate it. And and and thanks for getting in. And when you say look back a history, I wish we would. But the problem is a lot of the history that our young people are being taught in college mainly, but sometimes even in high school is a twisted version of history. Why are we teaching the real truth about Che Castro Mao Stalin, Lenin Madero Chabot says? I mean, every time you go to a country that went socialists, slashed, communist, depending on where on that spectrum. They went. You've had people literally starving to death. You've had gulags you've had political killings executions. You've had stagnant economies. You had depressions every time. And yet that's not what we're t-. Well, he just did a wrong. Well, these were just the wrong people. Well, if this and this hadn't happened, it would have been it would have been a worker's paradise. Well, but look at Switzerland, Switzerland is socialist like they're talking about doing in the type of country that we are compared to the type of the country that they are. It's it's something you think history would have taught, but we're not teaching history. And it certainly isn't the history of the United States of American what our founding documents say because our founding documents of the farthest thing from redistributing wealth, you could ever have. And yet we've twisted it into that the Democrats have done excellent job of making it seem like compassionate spending other people's money. And of course, as Margaret Thatcher said, the problem, socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money. Well, I think the big problem is you're stealing other people's money. But yeah, people start to say, why am I working for this? If you're gonna take it have you ever been in a group project in class, and you notice the people that are loafing, and then you start to say, well, why am I working so hard to get ney when these people aren't doing anything and then chaos starts to rain. But no, no, no this time. It'll be different this time. It'll be better this time it'll work in by the way, even if it did work. How's it failure? How's it fair? Oh, it's fair because we're taking from the the the rich and redistributing the wealth, I've never had income distributed to me have you. I've always had to earn mind. Embassy. That's what Elizabeth warns all about. She's like we we've got to fight for for the rules to be equal. A really like the rules were equal for her. Great piece by Howie Carr today, really rip it into that with wither beer on Instagram. I don't know if you've got to see Elizabeth Warren. She's she's announced she's running. She's out there. She's going to be the Democrats standard-bearer and she was doing a livestream on Instagram Facebook. I forget which one. And as she started. She goes, you know, what I think I'm going to get a beer Elizabeth Warren goes over he get some beer and opens the beer, and it was just awkward the way she opened the beer was awkward the way. She dragged the beer was awkward still. She's a wine and cheese crowd person. Okay. She should've just drunk some wine. But she had to show that she's just like you. She had to crack out a beer, and it was really really embarrassing. But hey, listen. That's just that's just optics. I'm sure she would be a great president. It's going to be fun to see how this all runs down eight hundred eight zero one eighty nine ninety nine get you on board the program apple has a big loss. She has one child, and she was fine and shed vaginal bleeding shed, a DNC DNC DNC another teaching point dis denser Dylan, and so the cervix is closed and a woman Judas, so they dilate up gynecologist usually dilates up the cervix and takes us scraping from the inside of the uterus. That's the cure Todd is a scraping. So the uterus has two parts. One is the interior part, which is usually called the endometrial. And then the rest of it is a muscle which pushes the baby out. This woman had a uterus removed and one of the big hospitals in New York after the surgery she was left incontinent of urine. And then she came to me. And the cancer grew. High grade cancer cancer grew had a positive lymph node. We spoke to about all the options to cancer grew back in the vagina within weeks shed surgery. It's really shocking. She had surgery to remove her uterus. Makes you think almost at the doctor spread the cancer when they cut on her because weeks later, she had a seven ten centimeter mass in her pelvis after remove the uterus is mass grew back so fast, and she came to me with this mass. And she was upset, of course, that you had the surgery which to work. And then she had amassed that grew in the valley, bud in the umbilical says you wanted us to treat two areas the pelvic mass which retreated a shrank by ninety percent. She wanted our treatment only to the breast this massive cancer in the breast and also the spine and the femur and we staged her up. We got a cat scan before and after so at a baseline, we knew where the cancer was before we knew where the cancer was afterwards. And by the way. Before she came to a she was taking concoctions and mega vitamins, which probably accelerated the cancer. They did not help. And again, I'm telling you that. So you don't.

"Us live in that reality of the permanent solution L? I I think there's a difference between a permanent solution and the ongoing impact of what was occurring before the solution was implemented or even after it was so say, for example. My wife a couple years ago had a hip replacement, and so she went in for a fairly permanent solution and had a new hip a metal hip in place. But the moment she got it didn't mean that her problems were immediately over there were a number of months of recovery and pain, and and ongoing trauma that was related to it. Or like in this example, when you think about the bloom if they figure out exactly why it has grown out of control, and they tomorrow could stop it. There would still be the ongoing impact of that in literally in the world. So for sin. I mean, we have a permanent solution for the separation that that's in created between God and his people. But that doesn't mean that the ongoing impact of that sin is over immediately as well. So I think for me it's the difference between finding the solution and looking forward in hope in faith to that day when the impact. Will finally end one of the phrases that have helped me understand scripture is that already but not yet. And I think that's at play in this conversation that we're having and you even see it in the text. So there's the permanent complete solution. But then Hebrews chapter ten thirteen is this image of Jesus also waiting for his enemies to be put under his feet, so part of that ongoing problem that the work of God's still applies in our lives is the guilt that we feel the accusations of the enemy the troubled at the enemy makes that as you said, we are we are still looking forward and still cling to God's work in our life. That's right. And that's why we we move toward faith in having full assurance and trust. You know? So for me, I always like to think of faith is trust. So while we know what Jesus has done there still is that trust as we move forward that it will finally come to completion, and the enemies will be under his feet and the the new heaven and earth will. Be created through him and everything else that that we hear when Jesus returns that will become a reality as well. And yeah, you know, his track record's pretty good. You know, Jesus is a pretty reliable guy relying on him is is probably the best place to put our money. Yeah. As I read the scriptures. You almost get the sense that God intentionally delays at times the fulfillment of his promise to strengthen our faith to let us wait on him. What I normally think of is that God is is delaying if you can even fathom why God would do something, you know, because his he's so much bigger than we are. But that God delays for the sake of the gospel. And so that he wants his children to know who he is who they are. And what he's done through Jesus. But while we're waiting we still suffer, you know, these impacts, and he is the greatest steward. God does not allow anything to go to waste even are suffering. And so he uses that as you're saying to strengthen and refine us that our faith. Th- might become stronger in each and every time we think that hey, you know, I I think I'm pretty good. Now, I'm healthy. I can pick up my rake, and I can probably make a dent in this the sin and suffering reminds us. No, you're just a little tiny guy on the beach and throws us back on trust and faith in Jesus. If someone wanted to share this resource as as I say as a podcast, your message with a friend who has drifted from the church, or doesn't know Jesus. What do you hope they would get out of hearing this message? I think for me the part that's really kind of speaking to my heart is the message that there is hope for the endless overwhelming impact of sin. I've definitely experienced times where I've been overwhelmed. I've been overwhelmed buying Zaidi. I've been overwhelmed with guilt. I've been overwhelmed with disappointments what I need is a reminder that all of those things those things that that is. I am guilty for those things that I can't bear to even think about that. In Jesus he has looked squarely at them. He's taken control of the situation, and he has provided a solution for that deepest thing. Because while we think, well, you know, I said a bad word spoke harshly. I lied to someone you know, these are all kind of surface sins. But if I'm real with myself, there is a much much deeper forboding darkness of that. That is in me, it's something that I actually need assurance that there's a solution for so I would say that if I were going to share that message with someone I would probably share it with someone who was experiencing being overwhelmed and the anxiety the kind of crushing anxiety that life can bring. "And what am I supposed to do? Who am I what am I supposed to do? And when you model when you use Jesus rather as the model of servant leadership. You you realize that he was absolutely clear and answering these two questions the story that Andrew read for us from Luke chapter to Jesus is accompanied his parents to to the Passover festival in Jerusalem. They've left Nazareth their little town and they're on their way to the big city to have this religious celebration. And they would travel in caravans they were travelling community. It would be like all of us sort of maybe getting out onto Peachtree getting all of our cars lining up. Maybe and then and then maybe driving to a spiritual place. Maybe the birthplace of Dr king. We're making a little pilgrimage there the whole community goes together. That's what they're doing. They're going to Jerusalem for the Passover. They celebrate it's over everybody gets back in their caravan. And they and they start moving back toward Nazareth. Mary joseph. They don't see Jesus but their assumption is that he's fine that he's what the communities where? His second cousin or something. He's with their next door neighbors. He's okay. They come to realize that he's not with them and they immediately turn around and they head back to Jerusalem. And they have some words with Jesus once they find him. He's in the temple is in church. He's listening and gleaning the wisdom of the rabbis and they have words for him. And the way I imagine it is is when my brother, and I were for our cousins, we get in trouble with our Italian. Great aunts who talked with their hands more than their mouths, and they would be red faced, and I imagine Mary and Joseph taking on this this sort of disposition, and they'd say, what are you doing Jesus? What are you doing? Why are you breaking my heart like this? Why weren't you with us? And Jesus has this wonderful.

"Here at thirteen eighty four Broadway brought in thirty eight street in New York City. Now, we'll talk about this seventy one year old woman from Costa Rica, she's a black woman, and I say that because she has breast cancer. And we know the death rate in the black community is Dabo. So she came to a she's seventy one she's single. She never got married. She has a son, however, daughter-in-law shes fine until four years ago. She retired. She felt a lump on the left breast had a biopsy to enter one of the biggest super duper fanciest hospitals in town, and they told her to have a mastectomy, and she declined. She just did not want mistake to me. And she ran away from them. Shed mammograms now she's coming with left, arm pain, shed concoctions for four years another story of vitamins herbs and Animas and ozone and vitamin c and acupuncture. None of it work cancer has been growing. Now, this cancer is breaking out through the skin. She's lost forty pounds has gone from one hundred forty five pounds down to one hundred and five pounds. So she's doing poorly with cancer growing through the skin. I examined her. She's very very slender woman with a seven centimeters about a three inch mass and the proportional breast. The breast is tender. There's this mass it's raised from the skin. There's an open wound scruffy St. it's bloody she allowed this to happen. She thought that could conscience would help her. They did not. And now she's here for treatment. And this is the work that we do at radio surgery, New York Trine women with early cancer later cancers. And this woman just did not want to have a mastectomy, and who can blame her when for most women there is no need to have a mistake to me. So many women come here because they do not have a mastectomy did not want to lose the breast, and we have to other patients right now, a skin cancers. He's talked about one man who had a skin cancer of the nose. And then we found the prostate cancer. Now, if an FBI agent who has skin cancer on the right hand and had been treating him. He had MOS on the left hand who treated the right hand, and he's had his few treatments and always back to work actually when every day to work he came in for treatment at every day went to work, and we have a dentist an oral surgeon facial surgeon whose specialty was cutting off people's noses and replacing with a, blah, blah tissue for other people who had knows cancers, but when he had cancer he came here. And when he had knows cancer he didn't allow anyone to cut off his nose. And when he had knows cancer he did allow anyone to cut off his nose. And so on a blob a tissue from his leg or as buttocks or some other place. No, he came here because he wanted the invisible beams of radio surgery, Dr Liederman treatment to hit the cancer to leave his nose intact and make the cancer go away. And that's the work that. We do every day here at radio surgery, New York. And so for this man this doctor who for other people he cuts off their noses sticks on glob for him. He came running here. And that's what happens to so many people. They just do not want the usual treatment. This is a doctor who knew what the usual treatment is he participated in the usual treatment of removing people's noses, but on came to him. Well, guess what he came to radio surgery, New York, and you can too I can tell you so many doctors come here, and so many doctors send their patients here because they know there's a different level of care personal level where you can have a doctor's triple board certified working for you Harvard trained, this is what happens at thirteen four Broadway. Wor except most insurances Medicare Medicaid. We also have information available about skin cancers. Breast cancers, lung cancers and prostate cancer, gene, cholera office because at two and two choice. We'll send you out a book the DVD. Call us at two one two two four six four two three seven two one two two four six forty two thirty seven give us a call. And we will send you a booklet DVD at no charge directly to you. Chorine come into the work week, many listeners. We know that listeners wanna save lives. You know, that listeners do save lives and many listeners come into our office at thirty four Broadway. Broadway and thirtieth street and pick up extra packages of information DVD, they picked them up and take them and give them to their friends and neighbors, and we're happy to provide information. So that you can do that. So come by. We're in the middle of Times Square and herald square Macy's and Penn station and Grand Central. So there's probably a half a million or more people in our neighborhood every day. I want to talk about seventy two year old woman. She's born in Jamaica. She's black and I say that because she has breast cancer. I said again, his breast cancer shed, a four and a half centimeter mass in the breast. Bob six. Months ago. She fell a mass in the breast and shadow biopsy. And she felt the lump and saw her doctor and had a mammogram and had a biopsy. And then she was told that if she had a mastectomy she would need no further treatment. She was told that if shed lumpectomy she need all kinds of treatment. Well, that's not true number one the reason to give chemo or not is not based on Mostaque Demere lumpectomy. So the surgeon is telling these stories to push to have a mastectomy to push her to do bigger surgery. And it's not true. And that's another reason to come to radio surgery, New York to get a fresh second opinion to learn the truth to get the choices. Maybe it's great for the surgeon to have a mastectomy. It's a bigger operation. Maybe it's great for the hospital to a bigger operation. But I don't think it's better for the patient to do a bigger operation. I don't think so at all. And we know that there's randomized studies to show that now shit. Estrogen receptors and progesterone receptors a cancer was poorly differentiated, so she had a four and a half centimeter tumor with close margins and well, she's here for staging. We've passed for staging and comeback. We've talked about all the options. But we try straight talk at thirteen four Broadway straight talk. So people get the right information and can make their decisions don't push anyone to do anything, including surgery, chemo radiation. We just encourage you like here on the radio. We encourage you to be educated to learn about all the options. So you can make the best decision. That's we want for. You is the best possible decision. Hey, here's a question out there. What is a sister? Mary Joseph lymph node. So I wanna talk about eighty one year old woman. She is widowed. She has no children. She came with her friend had colon cancer. She had surgery at one of those super big hospitals in New Jersey. Shed surge. Jenner call and then Chad chemotherapy, and while she was one hundred sixty pounds Than Shwe's one hundred twenty five pounds, a loss of thirty five pounds. And she has a domino pain, and our last cat scan was three years ago and around the belly button is a big mass like a big Plum, and that's what his Sister, Mary Joseph lymph node is apparently many many hundreds of years ago. Dr was examining a patient and found a big mess in the belly button. And the doctor said hail Mary Joseph when he was so shocked on this big massive the belly button. Well, what I examined this woman. I said hail Mary Joseph. And now she knows, and you know, what the name of cancer it spreads to the belly button or on Belykh us as a hail Mary Joseph lymph node, and that's what she had had a biopsy and the cancer traveled there Houston by our doctors in New Jersey, and they told her she had this cancer. Well, nothing more was done for her. And she came here we staged her up. We found not only a hail Mary Joseph lymph node which was about five centimeters about two inches and read and hard and inflamed in the belly button. And it was biopsy positive for adenocarcinoma from the colon. So we're that surgeon operated on hurry opened up her belly right through the front of her abdomen right through the belly button. And maybe spread the cancer cells when he caught on her. So she had this tender large lymph node. We've got a pet scans show stage four cancer. There are other areas treated, she came with her friend. I answered all her questions and her friends questions and the ender stand. Now that the cancer has traveled at stage four in those three years with nothing was done for her the cancer traveled. That's most likely why she lost all that weight thirty five pounds. That's why she has the pain. That's why she has a mass in her belly button on Belykh us hail. Mary joseph. Lymph node, and we are treating her because number one she wants that mass to go away wants the cancer to go away. And this is the work that we do every day at thirteen thousand four Broadway, treating new and recurrent cancers anywhere in the body from head to toe, including this woman who has a hail Mary Joseph lymph node big mass in her belly button. And yes, we.

"Got instead was a road trip that was their life a road trip now i want you ever seen a road trip movie right uh either is a movie actually called road trip you can go see that you can go in see thelma and louise you can go and see any of the national land poon vacation movies you can go in see sideways you can go in c bridesmaids the hangover i don't recommend you go and do that is not good for your spiritual life by you don't even need to see ambigous i'll tell you what the part of all the miss every single road trip movie has the same basic idea beneath it in its best it can be summed up in a single phrase life is what happens to you when you've made other planes got a really good set up lands you have a picture of how the trips going to go and then life happens and it just changes ever and you're just like wow amazed by the stuff that happens along way now you know something of what happened to mary joseph on their road trip i think a you know how it was discovered that mary was pregnant b four the two of them had had conjugal relations and by allegedly previously inconceivable upon intended means you've heard that you can imagine you're that relationship you're partners suddenly pregnant you know you had nothing to do with this impossibly right that would be a disastrous moment if you're joseph if your memory he would feel like at least potentially a catastrophic occurrence her story and and the people around you would see it in similar terms i mean it would be a shaming humiliating embarrassing awkward difficult thing to coin exploring yourself in these particular circumstances and that is mary is almost fullterm with this this baby she's god i there's this government edict that gets handed down the government gets involved in their lives in a way that's very very troublesome because the government requires that they actually travel all the way back toward joseph's family hailed from and they pay a big tax a new tax for for the government so get this now she's very pregnant they have to travel from nasser with down.
