"Of Dead serial killers are dead Slaughter ghouls will literally you're actually going into basically contacting or conjuring a ghoul you realize is Yeah, I definitely don't think that will continue in this particular case it more or less came about because we were getting a lot of claims of hauntings and plane fueled And that game just kept coming up, Obviously, over and over. And you know, we kind of thought, OK, you know, Could this really be connected to the game case because it wasn't really our intention to seek out Serial killer or someone of this of this caliber just for the investigation. So out of all the investigations I've done and all the films up done. This is the only time it's ever been the subject of of an infamous person. I really don't see that happening again. You know, one of our listeners in aftermath of media says Well, how do you go about your normal day? Like, have a sandwich after you go digging up some corpses we want It's like, Yeah, no one. I don't think anybody can actually wrap their mind around something This hideous. I really I think that Yeah. You heard about Jack the Ripper. You hear about Charles Manson? You hear about Berkowitz. But never are you going to hear about a butcher like what we hear in that game, the plane, the plane filled book Butcher. And of course, you know, I guess they say Wisconsin is the The I guess you call the murderous capital the world. I mean, we do have Dom er the cannibal. It was from Wisconsin as well. Yeah, it does seem that there's a lot of very infamous characters coming out of that state. Where to go. Some calls. 50322508 60. That's 50322508 60. We go to Lisa in Washington. Iran was Steve ship, you go ahead. Hey. Yes. I just want to talk about how I had a run in with Robert Lee Yates in Spokane serial killer. Um, I grew up and I guess good picture like a Edward Scissorhands. Has still suburban neighborhood, you know, and, uh Lived just up from a rock quarry. And this in the mid nineties, there started to be, um Bodies. You know, a lot of bodies, you know, murdered women here there and even in the rock quarry, And, um I had a very distinct premonition through those years of serial killer and I really felt like I was being hunted. And it really didn't make sense. I thought, why? You know that's ridiculous. But it turns out he lived just across the street from my best friend and I actually Would have to walk to the bus to go to school down by this rock quarry. And these were back in the days. You know, I was a runaway at 13 and I hitchhiked a lot, you know all around. And this was just such a secure little neighborhood and this guy pulled up and he said, Do you want a ride? And I just had this feeling, you know? No, don't get in, and I said no. And then Still, I had this premonition the serial killer thing and I just Always felt like he was in the neighborhood. Just like this. Washing his car. And then in, I guess it was around 2001. They caught him and it turns out he lives right across the street from my best friend, and it showed him And that the truck and that was the guy. And it just You know, it's so strange, and I just felt I mean there was like over a dozen victims and was sort of a small town time and a little middle Upper middle class neighborhood. And I just that brings up a good point. Steve, you know planes will is not a very big place. And so you've got, you know, I'm sure townspeople and others They didn't suspect a thing about ad being. I mean, all this disappearances. They didn't suspect anything. No and that Zach Chua Li kind of shocking when when you really dig into the case and started looking at all the different reports and all the different statements? Ah, lot of the locals at the time that new ed Wood Even say that, you know, he kind of made a little oddball living by doing odds and ends jobs. You know they have leave the door open. Hey, head for home. Go ahead, go in and fix that sink or hey, could you watch the kids while we run to the store and and he was actually baby sitting people's Children going into their homes, doing odd jobs for them and And nobody ever suspected anything like that from G. I heard something at one time. It was when we had the shingle on. We had I guess somebody had called and they said they knew something of the game case, and they said that the kids would actually they would call. They wouldn't call him Uncle Eddie. I think they call him like Uncle Charlie. Or somebody said Uncle Charlie has candy for us. And so Uncle Charley would give the kids candy. Uncle Charlie would play with the kids wouldn't kill the kids or harm the kids or anything that wasn't they weren't his targets. The targets were women. Definitely. Yeah. And oddly enough, it also came to the surface that toward the end, Ed would actually make comments that would purposely give him away. You know, when they would talk about Mary Hogan still never found he would, you know, he would say at the At the local bar of the diner. Well, she's at my place, and now they're gonna look at him and laugh and say, OK, and, yeah, I don't know She she's at my place. Yeah, that's what I understand is that he would joke it Well, they didn't know whether it was joking or not. He'd say things like She's not disappeared. She's hanging up in my place. And he actually come right out and say, Yeah, I got her hanging up in the barn. You know, whatever. And people would look at him My card. You're out of your mind. You know that. That's not true when in reality, he was just basically saying, Yes, she's hanging up in my barn and and people would laugh himself. You got the crazy sense of humor red, but literally they were doing and and so you know, it's kind of what Lisa's saying. You know, there's a guy You know he's waxing his car. And, you know he's outside at night, waxing his cars or people are watching and where somebody's out there, wax in their car. And what you don't know is that while they're waxing the car, they got somebody buried in the basement. And I am I right about that, Lisa. Yes, and he actually had a woman that he buried out in the flower bed right there. Mean and it was a very nice all the all the houses had manicured lawns, you know, and And I just feel like as far as the mothers go, Um you know all the darkness in the world. Comes through the womb of the mother and I feel like there's someone out there. Now that You know, I understand that you didn't deserve that. Your mother You know, she was bad for doing that to you and understand the violence that rage and you know the plastic bags in the blood and just Wow. You know that someone cares about you. It's you don't have to. You don't have to keep going. Yeah, well, sometimes you know that the pain is so deep like in the case of gain that you know there's no turning back sometimes. You know, it's like the pain is so deep and you know, we we don't understand that and that's why it all are you killers. You know when they get tried, they don't get executed because they want to make sure that they can analyze the more And that you know, they were Children like Ed Kemper. You know his before he killed his mother and beheaded her and violated he had called earlier that day and said, Do you want to go roller skating? And she you know, she was a narcissist, you know? Do some bad things that happen to people and They don't.

Why did they have to keep the heat up at gains house the punchline so the furniture won't get goosebumps. This was one of the many children's joke circulating merely days after Ed gains one, thousand, nine, hundred, eighty, seven arrest for the murder of Bernice warden in plainfield. Wisconsin. These quips became such a hot trend in the state that people gave them a name gainers. Gains crimes stirred their own media fascination an uproar in his hometown of Plainfield, and beyond as we talked about last week, the fifty one year old handyman murdered two local women robbed at least eight craves from nineteen, forty, seven until nineteen, fifty two and decorated his home with various body parts of many corpses. This week will explore gains trial, his institutionalization and the public fascination surrounding his arrest. His crimes made him the inspiration for several movie villains, Buffalo Bill and Hannibal Lecter in the silence of the lambs Norman. Bates in psycho and leather face in the Texas chainsaw massacre. Upon gains arrest in nineteen fifty, seven psychologists diagnosed him with sexual psychopathy and schizophrenia many people have labeled him as a necrophile and Cannibal, over the years but gain has denied ever eating or having intercourse with a corpse. Ginkel heads N. Vaginas of dead women. He used their skin as well as other body parts to create a woman suit that he could wear. Gain also used bones, skin and skulls as waste thin super bowls and lampshades. Tavern owner Mary Hogan disappeared on December Eighth Nineteen fifty four and gain often joked about it with the townspeople of Plainfield. He'd tell them quote she's not missing. She's down at the farm right now after his arrest in nineteen, fifty, seven gains crimes were no laughing matter. But the gainer jokes helped the people of Plainfield cope with the fact that such a disturbed killer had lived among them for. So long the present towns people immediately assumed that game was guilty of his heinous crimes if those jokes nicknames or any indication as for the criminal justice system though it would take more than a decade in court for the State of Wisconsin to formally charged with first degree murder. I T talked about wardens murder and claimed that he shot her by accident. Gained District Attorney Earl. Kaleen that he went to her shop on November sixteenth to buy a half gallon of antifreeze gain claimed he didn't remember shooting warden because he was in a daze. Yeah. which gained believed to be punishment for Bernice wardens earlier behavior. Gain may not have recalled shooting warden but he remembered what he had done with her body. He told DA kaleen quote. My memory is a little vague but I do remember dragging her across the floor. I remember loading her body in the truck. Then I drove the truck out on the East road at the intersection where fifty one and seventy three separate east of Plainfield I drove the truck up. In the pine trees, then I walked down and got in my car and I drove it out there loaded her body in the back of the car and also the cash register I loaded the cash register and the truck when I put her body in there, then I drove out to my farm and took the body out of the car and hung up by the heels in my woodshed and quote. It's clear. The geen recalled many of the details from the ninety shot warden but he claimed that he was unable to remember himself pulling the trigger during the interrogation he claimed that the police that he had not killed anyone else. geen would later admit to the second murder of Mary Hogan after police found her face in a paper sack in his home. It was skinned from her skull and preserved with oil. Vanessa was gins simply deflecting from the cops or is there a psychological reason his memory couldn't blacked out during those killings Geen could have been deflecting. He had told police that his days was similar to the days used to fall under when he exhumed women's corpses from graves even in modern times, you'll often read in media reports that the suspect in questions said they were in a daze as they committed the crime. Modern psychologists have found this to be extremely common in several studies about the memories of murderers. A significant number of the killers had no memory of committing their own crimes. There are several possible causes for this. It could be associated Amnesia when a person forgets a traumatic or criminal experience. After it happens, the suspect could also have been an associate state, which means they would have been in an altered state.
