"Your career path visit you ngc dot TV you certified to operate in Virginia by chef There are others that have expert opinions as well. People that are sought after for advice. What happens, though, And how important is that? The people actually take that advice, yell boy, you know, great question. You know one of the things that that I've observed north through the years and how important it is to pay attention. When you received communications from either your advisors or say, your employer your company you work for Social Security Administration. Medicare IRA accounts because what you don't know, Unfortunately in the financial round can really hurt you. And if you miss a deadline or just goof, something else up, it can cause some serious financial harm. And in most cases, it's not that people are doing something. It's what they're not doing. And typically, that'll be paying attention. I'll give you an example. I had a gentleman in my office yesterday. That was 72 years old has a pretty significant size IRA at another firm, and he's never taken a required distribution yet. Well, um, you know, he is required distributions. We're gonna be somewhere around 15 or $16,000 a year because it's pretty good sized retirement fund. And the penalty Noah for not taking what he should have taken is 50%. Wow what he should have taken. So if you have a $15,000 required distribution and you don't take it. $7500 penalty plus the tax on the 15,000 that you should have taken. That's one of the heaviest penalties out there is it is, I think, to my knowledge right now it is. The heftiest penalty in the Iris called 50% penalty is so significant, so that's an example. And when we went back to I had him connect with his IRA firm that was handling your account. They did send him communications, and he just kind of thinks it's junk mail and Didn't pay attention. That's an example of what I'm talking about. You've got to open those pieces, even if it looks like junk mail. Open it up. If it is junk mail toss it, But if it's not, it may have some valuable information. So you want to be really careful about In, you know, not not throwing away things that could harm you financially, And that's what I'm talking about. Here. It seems like especially when we're dealing with deadlines, or maybe a particular way that you need to maintain an account. Maybe an age range that you have to pay attention and taking a distribution. If you it's not again what you do do it, But it's what you don't do that get in the long run really cost you it can really cost you concussed financial damage and What tends to happen often times, Unfortunately, is this people get deeper into their retirement years? They may you know, met beeping is much attention to the details that they might have earlier in life, So it's really helpful to have somebody else. That's kind of checking up on you and making sure that you're following through and check in the mail and paying attention to the details. Well, if you would like someone to check up on you, I know we checked on me every day. Marty Snider, the retirement professor. There is no one better to get your financial ducks in a row after free consultation and his Mission Valley office right now, 107 to 7. Plant 107 to 775 to six and a wealth of information. Check him out in advance. The retirement professor dot com Marty will see on the show a little bit later on.

Locked to learn a short time to learn about a new race car, a different race car, and what is it looked like coming from the rear of the field up to ten km. Excuse me I come on the radio and I said I like the view a lot better where we were on the parade lap. But man I tell you what is this not a good deal I mean Had three top tens in my career before joining rash and we've had to in the last three races and we'd take a backup car out finished tenth. In or out of each tired, we took a little bit of wedge out once we worked on it all day long but nothing drastic to car was fairly close but like I say just wasn't quite catch mark and Jeff in them but it was a pretty good race car and it was a little bit tight all day off the corner which like. Say. It was a little slow in the beginning of it run, but it would come on towards the end. That's where the only way it can make physicians. Did you guys talk all week or any? While you were here about the chassis setup and what springs and shock you're going put under the car and were the five teams that consistent with the setup? "One thing I wanted, Teo asked. That would be kind of right in the no point intended wheelhouse and let the listeners know we're talking with NBC, NBC sports Pit reporter Marty Snider. Is that you've got this has never happened before it anywhere. You've had the combination of the weekends but also so close together And so you've got the IndyCar race And then you've got the Xfinity race and some of the drivers were trying to think especially with the heat, you know, with the rubber And you got two different kinds of tyres going down. What are your thoughts on that As far as what you're going to see is far is just the way the cars were going going to react, You know, with that rubber down on the tracks so close in time period. Well, and I don't know how the rubber's going to interact. That's going to be one of the most interesting part of this weekend. How the Firestone tires and the Goodyear tires Firestone for IndyCar and good to you for a NASCAR kind of work together. But I think the road course itself. The racing is going to be outstanding. We're talking mad, defended Eto earlier today. He's the only driver in Ah NASCAR machine that's ever been on the indie road course, and he did the test for NASCAR there this past offseason. Obviously, he's a Cup series driver, so it wasn't an advantage for someone to get to test their with before they got there in practice, but He really said the race is going to be outstanding because of the fact there's somebody breaking heartbreaking corners of somebody passing opportunities. So that has him very much excited to watch this race, and I think the racing is going to be outstanding. Coming from the IndyCar side to this is a race last year where you look at it Diamond passion? No, honestly came into this race. Truly with his job in jeopardy. A team Penske, he goes out. He wins this race in the rain and incredible drive for him, then I've been a week later, he wins the pole at Indianapolis. And then two weeks later, when beginning Annapolis 500 So I think I think this you know they're gonna have a in the other interested party for the IndyCar side. They're going to have a race at the Indian ending up sort, of course later in the year as well, So this is the first time we'll be able to come. To a racetrack, run the course and come back later in the year and running again. So I think that's going to be interesting for IndyCar. See how they react when yes going to be fun to watch that Saturday, and it's going to be jam packed in logistics? Pull it all off. I mean, you gotta give it to Captain Indy car to NASA. Far everyone I AMs for all the things that have gone into making this happen, And it's going to be a fun day. No doubt about it. You go from no raising two virtual racing toe like all the racing you could jam. Into one day. And as before we let you go, Marnie, let's talk a little bit about. I mean, you've been with NBC for a long time covered, you know, every former racing and all sorts of things like that, and just the excitement of Being a part of that NBC team we've covered and talked with so many different personalities over the last couple years, But this is in full effect, you know, happening this weekend and just tow have NBC be there and be that kind of trusted outlet for all of that great content for those serious happening coming up? Well, I mean, it's a blessing, and we're thankful at NBC Sports. I mean, just like Tract on the series and the and the tractor pulling everything together. I mean, our group that NBC is an incredible job to make sure that everybody who works for us is safe and we're doing it the right way, and you gotta talk about people. It takes to pull off a racing event. It's a time of people and it's not an easy process and they've done an unbelievable job in the middle of this pandemic to make a plan to kind of say, OK, how are we going to make this happen? How are we going to bring it together? Any. Obviously, you know, we love you know the motor sports world. I mean, leave. We're in the middle of IndyCar. And we finished up Super Cross a.

"We are under caution for the second time in the food city. Five hundred at Bristol Motor speedway and incident happening on the back straightaway. Ricky Rudd Chat Little Reisig for the nineteenth position had been doing that side by side for a couple of laps. They finally made contact with a exited turn. Two of the last lap. Their rookie got spun out of the race. Track was good at avoiding the inside retaining wall or the process has cut down the to lift tires. Watching is ricky tries to kind of lobster Walker Crab. Walk his car. Around meantime. Here come the leaders past the opening a pit road and everybody coming in for service. Lap Forty nine stops will be will begin in the leaders pit Rusty Wallace to the attention of his crew. And they're going to work the right side right behind him. If girly campus great behind him is cut. Want us to Jeff Gordon. Dale Jarrett his head so it's vets triplet jeopardize all these cars getting four good. You're Eagles and union. Seventy six gasoline dodd was to killing man the body's just about a complete therefore not how many. Damn Justin Ken schrader or has to back up. Terry Labonte goes out then. Bobby Robber Grassley Robby Gordon Tire than fixed. Bill Elliott and the John Deere Carve Channel to the back. Pittsburgh Snyder everybody in back here more Morton. Tony Technology Away with coupons up the second and third down here for Jimmy. Spencer was first off pit road. I don't know if they just changed a couple of tires and dumped into fuel and sent it back but at any rate he is the first car back on the speedway Jimmy. Spencer looked from here taking just right side tires. Follow up there in a moment but the I pit strategy move being made by the Campbell team as Jimmy comes off the race lead. Rusty Wallace will come out. Second Joe Nemechek. We'll come off third followed by Dale Jarrett Sterling. Marlin Jeff Gordon Kyle Petty. Geoff Bodine and Steve grissom will route the rest of the front runners off of pit road. Look like Kenny Wallace. And a couple of others got boxed in traffic cost them quite a bit of positions as they tried to get back out onto the race track later on in today's broadcast Western auto. The official auto parts and service store of NASCAR will select the mechanic of the race award winner. The top NASCAR mechanic getting two thousand dollars from Western Auto Gary D heart tearing the bodies crew chief leads the standings for the twenty five thousand dollar. Western auto mechanic of the year award to be passed out at seasons in go back to the PITS MARTY SNIDER. Rigorous is back here with a heavily damage race car. The left side is pretty. Well used up the left front and the left rear both sides of the race car both into the race car however Used up and they're working feverishly back here. But it'd probably be a while before ricky rudd gets back out pretty strange situation at Bristol over the years for Ricky Rudd. He has always run up in the top five. When he doesn't have any problems had a lot of chances to win here. I've seen even get caught up in accidents with as little as five laps to go and Just he usually is very good at the speedway just has not had that good of a finishes over the years seemed like bad luck has befallen him many many times. It does again here today. Tough break for Ricky six in the Nascar Winston Cup series championship standings coming into the event. Dhabi see Very tough going early for him to be behind. The Wall Jimmy Spencer. Getting right side tires comes off with the Race Legion Phillips's in that teams pits. Jim You confirm what I saw down there that they took right side. Only strategy to tires at time charted up here last time getting worse again this time. We want to try to earn it. What happens? Not Donnie Wingo for Jimmy Spencer. Try Strategy early in the race to see thinking subtract position. They've got the track position other. Keep it but you know we've seen Jimmy here. Last four five years really put on some outstanding performances a couple of times. He's been right up the thick of things and I'm sure we'll be again today. Pace car down on April the racetrack going behind pit. Walgreen flag comes out Spencer. Set sail rusty was breathe right down his tailpipe and turn one and you know. Rusty is not going to have any patients that cars capable of getting around. He's GonNa try it in the back. Stretch for threes gets about Karl advantage over rusty. Vote coming into the thirties ticket. I remind rusty stays with the turn. Four out of the stripe completing lap fifty four five hundred four Jimmy. Spencer outed fraud. Here's Rusty Wallace chasing after him off to die for the inside looks for a chance to put walk side. Spencer. It's pretty strong. Once he gets the back straightaway. Dale Jarrett just eases round Joe. Nemechek moved up into third place. Turku Jack Sprague spot. Going into the quarter. Look DEBATE THE TAIL. End of the field is roll down. The field now roars outside. Caution come right back out on the speedway lap fifty five again. He is on April the racetrack. And we're under the third caution flag of the day. I got a feeling we're going to see a lot of those before. The food is done. Jack sprague subbing for Ricky Craven in this event here today saying he just wants to get the car to the finish. They've had a lot of unfortunate bumps and bangs with the Budweiser team of late. And sprague says he just wants to get the race done with all the fenders on the car and get one to bring home in one piece. Obviously Ricky Craven home on the man after the very rough lick. He took it a practice. Crash at Texas A week ago and we wish ricky speedy recovery is he continues undergoing some physical therapy chief with I understand. What are the trainers that work with a lot of the Carolina Panthers Football Team? Helping Ricky get back in shape from these shoulder and rib injuries that he suffered there. We expect see Ricky at Martinsville. When we go there next weekend for the goodies. Five hundred there are a lot of people were asking about it in the garage area all weekend long here and we hope Rick. You'll be able to come back with US next week. At Martinsville fifty seven laps on the scoreboard. Jack Sprague with the put the car in the pits in the back straightaway. Let's get a quick update their sprague against spun the car over a turnover to K- down the pit lane got quick service. Now's rejoined the field. So at this point we work the third caution of the event and at the head of the pack. A couple of guys trying to tires on the first stop for some pitch strategy seeing if that'll help them and how it will work out in this particular segment of the Race Field. GonNa get the one to go now and we'll go back to green flag racing at this point. I think that everybody a lot of people along the road are going to be keeping an eye on Jimmy Spencer Joni Mitchell cars to see how they do perform the next seventy five hundred laps if we go green flag for awhile and find out if that to tyre strategy is going to be something that's viable as we move through this race cool enough today. The tire wear not that accessible doesn't appear to have been that much in practice. We've had here this weekend. So we'll see as you said how Spencer plays out there if he's able to hold Rusty Wallace off. I think we'll see quite a bit of to Tyre changes before the day is done. Fifty seven laps up on the board right now. They're getting ready to go back to green here in well. This time around. They waved off the re start. They've got to go one more pace lap before they dropped. The green flag had to get a couple of cars properly positioned on the restart a couple of drivers who came down pit road too soon and needed to be informed that they will start at the tail. End of the longest line to go back to the pits. Marty Schneider. Ricky. Rudd is almost ready to come out the problem they have is. They can't fix the hole where the gas needs to go in the car spun. It looks like the toe in or the the rear and housing was bent. But it is not the frame is fine. Let's get a quick word with Andy Grace Coochie for Jackson. Gandhi the car. Okay Yeah. Thanks so ages Somebody got into instead around. That's creepy for tax breaks. Ricky Rudd injects break should be out there pretty quickly jack out there now. Ricky should be out in just a moment. Ricky wants to get back out there and get as many possible points to stay in the standings as well as he is in the early part of the season. We'll go green flag racing this time by. Jimmy sits at the front of the field right behind him as rusty wallace followed by Dale Earnhardt. Back their third JOE NEMECHEK is fourth fifth. We'll be sterling Marlin. Six Is Jeff Gordon Kyle. Petty will be lining up seven followed by Geoff. Bodine as they get ready to send the pace car behind the pit wall. Couple of cars elapse..

"Our daily chat with the one the only Marty Schneider sponsored of course by the word on wealth financial network Martin hello how are you good afternoon doing great today thank you all I would like to talk about people paying attention on the road for today show but I'm not gonna do that instead let's talk about other mistakes financial ones Marty where some retirement financial mistakes that people often make you know there's a couple of common once said that the one that jumps out at me right now I know it is I see a lot of retirees that in an effort to reduce risk keep all their money in Canada already retired Marty yes yeah these are people that are already retired and you know they're they're kinda have the paralysis analysis said so they keep all their money in bank accounts money markets you know savings and checking type of the cancer and the problem of course with that is that the the yield is so terribly low that you're not going to keep up with inflation almost not worth it is it yeah you pay tax on that interest and then you know by the time yeah you have to report that is income and then even though inflation has been fairly tame here for quite a while that will last forever in those dollars just won't keep up with the purchasing power so I understand it's tempting to want to stay you know safe with your assets but they're still a lot of alternatives no worry what are some of those Marty well for example the fixed indexed account where your principal is safe but you get to participate in a portion of the market's performance the stock market if it goes down you don't lose money I know you love those annuities the fixed ones are particularly very helpful yeah and they are solid returns their principal protected these are major a a an a plus rated insurance companies that have been doing this for you know a couple hundred years so they're very solid know what they're doing Marty would you ever consider a variable annuity as a mistake I'm not a fan of variables here in most cases I do consider them to be a mistake only because if you want the market if you want the actual fluctuations of the stock market a you can do that on the outside without the annuity cover of end of the problem is that they tend to be very expensive they tend to be high in fees because you've got the insurance company that charges a fee and then you've got the internal money portfolios you know the different funds that are within the variable annuity that also charge a management fee so they tend to be pretty pricey they're not price efficient I'd rather if somebody wants to market I rather see them go direct to a mutual fund or managed account they don't need the annuity company to provide M. you know a benefit at that point in your the fees or some they're all right yeah a good portion of the fees were the fix the cats you you get the benefit of the company protecting your principal and still getting a really competitive rate of return I just had a review this morning with a client that on their fixed indexed account last year did about six point eight percent that's good not bad save money right now for sure they were safe money that's a pretty good return and now that six point eight percent is also protected as part of the principal so there's a lot of alternative you just don't want to keep everything in one percent and pay income tax on it that's a mistake long term it'll hurt retirees know definitely a mistake and that it like you said right now there's so many different alternatives if maybe you want to explore some of these alternatives a little bit further in depth that's what Marty Snider does with his free consultation one eight hundred seven two seven seven five two six one eight hundred seven two seven P. L. A. N. seven appointment in his mission valley offices free of charge as always the retirement professor dot com and is always more on the show later on Marty thanks for stopping by my pleasure catcher later right no thanks thank you noting here stay tuned there's more coming up right now we are sponsored by the word a wealth management work we got this San Diego our fathers brought forth upon this continent a new nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal I don't know what okay but one the world remember remember remember remember what we say here but it can never forget what they did here what your country can do for you this tear down this wall this is America first with some bastion Gorka you've got a great team when you lost one of them full seconds before you go away can you print something for me the whole space right now what city am with immaculate timing thank you I got Sebastian Gorka and I do that all the time to my pool.

Here man you will see their interviews reviewed the cup and xfinity championship for throughout the next hour and one of those expanded title contender. He then moved up to the cup series with Joe Gibbs racing before before moving over to Stewart Haas in the forty one car custer currently trying to win the xfinity series title for Stewart Haas racing he along with bell and Rettig have been called the big three this season due to their dominant performance. custer bell in Riddick of course have combined for twenty wins. This season This is there something you'd like to save. I know I know what you on the spot. I think you said it best performance is really think. This is a performance driven decision. If this turns out to be true and I know there was financial ramifications with what swears is bringing that sense but I think for Haas. It's just one of those things where you say. Hey here's someone who's really performing well lower series. We want to give them a chance to move up. And here's a driver ever who didn't make it in and that's really just not acceptable in that level commitment not to make him well. Of course the focus for this weekend is winning that championship mpn ship. He came up just a little bit short last year. said the Big Three you talk about performance. Those three have won sixty percent of the xfinity series races over sixty percent the fourth member. We're this group Justin. "Marty Snider told the story when he was driving sports cars show. They would just get out and work on wet weather racing. And that serve him well today because he was a massive great too. So when you beat him outright like that you've done something. Kevin Lee joining us from NBC they had the race today. And I'm telling you right now is fun race, Scott Dixon. Second in the Indy-car Grand Prix for the third straight year. He just had nothing at the end. Kevin. There wasn't anything. He could do. Why can he get such a commanding lead? And then towards the end have no answer. He said he he just used up the tires toward the end. I'd have to go back, and listen, I talked to him lot of. Tires were just used up a little bit of the end or didn't have the balance that he wanted to eat. Sometimes it's just a matter of how the car is handling. And that's another one of the things when you talk about strategy mix conditions as to what kind of setup you put in the car. So there are things that you can do as an engineer and the mechanics can do to car handle better. In the web simplicity is giving a more down for softening up the springs. But if it doesn't rain then you're going to be dog slow in the dry with that kind of setup. So those that did maybe mix it a little bit and add a little bit more downforce might have been disadvantaged at the beginning. But did have an advantage towards the end. So that always plays things too. But I think it was more. So about what passionate doing than what Dixon wasn't done because it's not like anybody else was able to get by Scott Dixon. So he he was still relatively strong. Not quite strong enough. Well, you know, what he thought? Here. He was going to break the code so to speak, and and get in there because he had such such an interesting lead in such a good job as you pointed out. I think we understand weather was just in rain was miserable. I'm amazed at they're able to drive under those conditions. Obviously, the best place to be out in front of fear back in the pack. How do you see it very, and it actually can be a lot worse than it was today. It never rained hard during the race. It was it was more. It was a steady rain. Maybe just say it was raining, but unfortunately, a lot heavier rain, and that does get to a point where they may have to throw a caution or red flag if they're standing water or so forth. So as far as races go was just about perfect because and that's the challenge. You're waiting and you've got to go back to the the rain tires. Just get eaten up. So we talked last night rain always makes things a little more interesting today. All right, Jack, Harvey third how about that race ran what a great day he had big deal for him. Just because of the rain. It wasn't circumstances or luck. He started third got the second beginning of the race. He stayed up near the front the entire time. He had never driven an Indy-Car along with a few of the other younger drivers in the rain. That was impressive for him to be able to stay up there, and that's just a huge result. And in a story of that team is a really good one because Michael shank is it someone that made a lot of money doing something else and sided into this racer. His dad was a club racer in Ohio driving cars. That's what he started doing. He wanted to be a driver. He drove an IndyCar race found. My calling is probably trying to make it feel work and become a team motor started ferry low levels of open wheel racing and sports car racing. And it's been a dream to be a car owner at the Indianapolis five hundred this is the third year that he's been able to do it. And they're still a part time team. They want to grow to become a fulltime team getting a podium at. Indianapolis is a really big step in that direction. Really is also I mean, you look at what Mattera Matthias life did today. That's a nice run finishing fourth Spencer Piggott was fifth. Those guys had good days today. So that's another one waste get shaken up when you get into a race that if that had been a straightforward race, you know, mid pack in that case. So that's really nice J Foyt racing to see result and lasted a nice job in the rain. Right equalizer. The best setup. You may be a second slow in the drive, but the rain is all right who who can find the grit who can find the best place in the race track. It gets down to drivers skill as well been and had a good weekend. He was relatively strong all weekend at Jones did as well. For a while in the race. So he which is seven place finish. I think he kills pretty good about that feel Trojan quiz probably comes away thinking there is something to be had there starting on the pole beating early in the race. He's one of those that didn't take the rain tires at the right time. So that's why he lost back and loses a few positions and finish his. Some time to stick around after the scoreboard update. Kevin Lee, and I will come back talk more racing on network Indiana's Indian sports..

"Pinski in the grand prix here in Indianapolis. And it probably took a Wraith got shaken up with the weather for penalty you continue that dominance because they were anything dominant this weekend. They didn't have to pay the Hondas had to pay certainly at the pace and several others in the Dr they weren't awful, we'll power qualified fix that. We just don't really have the pace. And then the other three were were quite a bit further back. So that was the difference in the race in rain, always make things more entertaining. And then it did rain late in the race thought got and had it wrapped up on the last restart charge from. Six and just kept picking them off. And even after he got up to second. He was still five seconds behind got Dixon and caught the five time champ third in all time wind only behind AJ in Mario and passed him legit. And this was a huge win for Simon passionate, wet one. Since the end of twenty seventeen they're already a lot of rumors about his contracting up at the end of this year. Going to be replaced by Alexander Rossi. The same kind of speculation was out there. This time last year about willpower contract was up he won this race. The Indianapolis five hundred that speculation at a new contract came his way speculation ended at a new contract came so passionate hoping for more of the same. Kevin. It was interesting. And I'm sure you were able to talk to people one is what talk about race strategy. It's difficult to do for those of us who really don't understand. But you have to have multiple strategies daylight today because you're gonna be running in two different sets of climate so to speak dry track. Wet trek win. Do you? Go to the to the rain tires, windy. Not all those particular things and clearly passionate benefits from being able to get in at the end with a wet track. What makes all that happen? So it comes to rain races. And especially mixed conditions meeting in this case it breaks for most of the race. But it never rating hard enough to go to the rain tires. And the reason you can't go to the rain tires too soon is because they'll just get eaten and burn up, and they'll go away very quickly within a few laughs. If if the track is what you need moisture. So it's always a fine line. When do you call for the rain tires, and it's really just kind of guess, yes. You've got your weather people. Tell me what's going to happen. But that's not one hundred percent accurate, and some of the engineers and strategies was talking to this morning said these rain races, especially mix conditions are the most stressful circumstances that we have so. What went a long way toward terminating race is who came in at the right time to get the rain tyre some came in a little bit too early. There were several that didn't come in and Mr. opportunity to win new garden was one of those new garden got off strategy pitted early and from starting well in the back or at least mid packs or teeth. He was in position to win the race. Not raid. Joseph new garden was going to win right Team Penske by going off strategy, but Dixon was at the front of the line of those that got on the rain tyres early passionate actually uncertain about the strategy. You wanted to go a little bit different. But he is so good in the rain, and Marty Snider told the story when he was driving sports cars show. They would just get out and work on wet weather racing. And that serve him well today because he was a massive great too. So when you beat him outright like that you've done something. Kevin Lee joining us from NBC they had the race today..

"Five hundred last year. He spoke with our Marty Snider earlier today. Christa sufficiently the month of may at Indianapolis. It's a windy day. But you know, what we're standing right above victory lane where that guy owned it all last year, willpower one everything in the month of may. And I heard you say on the Dell junior download you kinda came here. More determine last year was a different mindset when you came into the month of may and twenty eighteen you know, what I think I was thinking this is the first year of new car, and that's the time that you can capitalize on just being a little bit ahead of the competition. Understanding what it would take with this to to win a rice, and the way it drops and all that sort of thing. So, you know, very cognizant of that worked, very relaxed. Mount the whole team did a great job. We worked hard on having a good rice car. I can't think of anything that went wrong on rice days far as execution the pits outlet in my. On the track oversee all that stuff. Just very solar diet with that win in your pocket. Does it feel different walking into gasoline alley this time around as the defending wind? Does it take some pressure off this year? The I I have to say you woke around with a bit more of a small on. The month. Hasn't started tell her, you know, when you when you quick it really helps. But yeah, always proud to see my face up there as you drive through that tunnel. You know, and just just to a sure weight off my shoulders. There's no question about that. I have more determination than ever to win Rice's particularly win another four hundred. That's the talk about the five hundred. Let's talk about this weekend. The grand prix how much did that really set up the success in the five hundred being able to win that race and start the month of may the right way. It it helps there's no question, you know, when you win a rice, you feel great team feels confident, and you know, you just have a very good attitude going forward for the rest of the month, and you happy, and I did the same thing and fifteen and almost won the five hundred good battle with monta sprinkle mount. You know, just I felt that that month is the positive vibe going off to win in the growing pretty. Yeah. That trophy sitting up in the engineering office to look at all moms. You know? So yeah, it's a good start when you can win. The first one it's been a long three weeks off some curious kind of what you thought about during those three weeks. Did you kind of think about how do we turn all the speed? We've had all year in two thousand nineteen into wins. Success certainly thought about that law. You know, it's it's a couple of heartbreaking result, particularly KOTA. But you know, the good news is we have good pace we expect to be at the front on superspeedway the row this weekend in might hurt to seaters on the track. We're ready to get the month of may kicked off here in Indy. Yeah. We certainly are especially it's hard to to look at willpower at Indy and not think of that reaction last year when he won the five hundred what did you say you turn from what race car driver like crazy like, but that's what we love about him because that's willpower in a nutshell. Take a little bit. Darby back believe. Believe it cap believe it, I can't even. But yeah, I mean it shows you what it means, by the way willpower is this week's guest on the junior. Download if you missed it, Tuesday, you're in luck because you can see that tomorrow at six PM eastern right after grand prix qualifying. We'll get a little bit about we know the Indy. Five hundred is big. But you were talking I mean willpower. There's a lot of similarities with this year last year. Really he dominated the month may last year, and it's really what got him back into the championship. So you could break it up into two ways yet Indies indie..

And I think it really started thinking once we got here got the trophy out on the conic landmark Photoshop of, you know, the welcome to Las Vegas and having the car there. It's pretty special accomplishment. I no doubt about it. So during the race where were you where he pacing somewhere? Cabana up on top of the garage with my kids, and my in-laws was wonderful and you nervous or what pacing ton. Yes. Right. Up into the last lap is crazy because you see the hours he puts in to make it all work. Correct. Twenty years. Now, you know, he has gone after this and to see if I really happened. They just. Yeah. Yeah, she's a rock for for everything that happens takes care of the family, and and really supportive. She's the one address out. So got a lot to be appreciative for their. Did you help Lagaan with the speech tonight or not I did not? I did not. I think I think he's he's an awesome person. And it will be an awesome champion. And I look forward to what he can do. I'm known you long time are you ever going to allow yourself like a moment to kind of soak this in N, relax, or are you back to twenty nine hundred already. So I walked in I walked into the shop Monday after winning homestead. And and got there about two o'clock in the afternoon after the celebration, they're down there. And I opened the door to my office in the twenty nineteen calendar was sitting on desk. And I think that's a perfect message that you know, twenty nine starts today. So we gotta keep digging forward in enjoy this. But, you know, not lose sight of we've got more to get. Did you do that on purpose? Someone else do that to you know, I had no idea. But when I got there, the the calendar was waiting, and I thought that's that's so fitting of Rogers Rogers, a great person, and he talks about keep your focus out the front windshield. Don't look in the mirror, and I thought that was just one point where we had the opportunity to to really let that sink in and start working because we've got a lot to do with a brand new Ford Mustang next year new aero.

I like it when these guys kinda take a jab gratuity other for sure the nice thing for us as we come out and have a little fun with everybody. You'll see on the show coming up later. "Seventy eight crew after Martin tricks junior made the championship Sunday Phoenix as team facing shutdown at the Susan. They are looking at go out as back to back Cup series champions in Miami. A nice moment there from the weekend and furniture row. One of four organizations now in the Cup series title hunt. Marty Snider has more from the Stewart Haas ratio. Caroline, how could penalties. Help two of the championship four teams. Well, obviously we've been talking about Rodney children's in the folks here is to and Haas racing because of his penalty and being suspended for the last two races of the season. He was able to be at the shop all last week. And I texted with them a couple of times. And he said, hey, man, I'm working on our Miami car here at the shop so in between practice sessions in between everything before and after the race. He was working on that Miami car getting it ready and that car that Kevin Harvick will take this weekend to try and win a championship is one of their better cars in their stable. It one Atlanta earlier this year and most recently ran the southern five hundred where finished fourth they had a lot of confidence in that car. Another penalty team Martin extra in your in his guys. Remember they had inspection issues. Friday before qualifying at Phoenix in the furniture rogue is wasted. No time. They got Blake Harris the car chief who was kicked out of the race track on a flight immediately from Phoenix Denver. He then spent Friday night, Saturday and. Sunday, working on their Miami. Primary car coal per and told me that was the huge advantage of Blake not being at the racetrack. We're way ahead on our preparation, and they need that. Obviously they're based in Denver, Colorado. So they have twenty four hours less to get ready for the championship race than everyone on the east coast. They have to load their Haller by Tuesday night, they expect to do. So and get the car on the way to Miami. Speaking of all the teams on the east coast talk to Gordon about that. And the work they'll put in he said Monday as really our final touches on the car it self then Tuesday and Wednesday will focus solely on setup making the plan for the entire race weekend, which we will stick to on Friday and Saturday and hopefully execute and get ourselves to a championship and the twenty two team did something very interesting. They had a car. Swap with Ryan Blaney now. Joey Logano backup car is. Ryan blaney. He's old primary car for Miami. They took those cars to the wind tunnel found out that Carl was a little bit better. So the twelve teen gave up that car to be the backup car for Joel. Gano this weekend. Turn Ryan Blaney gets the car that Joey Logano was going to use as backup the car. The lead one hundred laps at Kansas. Just a few weeks ago team Pinski doing everything they can to try and win a championship in twenty eighteen. And that leaves Kyle Busch and his race team. The competition meeting today at Joe Gibbs racing for everyone at J G R and Connell said some interesting things post race yesterday after his big win at Phoenix. He said, I think this is the closest championship four has ever been. I think at some point in the race at Miami. We'll be running one two three four I'm confident in that. So every latte every pass is going to be critical when it comes down to the race Sunday L Miami. But as Kyle said, I like the position our team is in no doubt, we have the most momentum going into that championship race. Great report from mardi bear Steve helped me understand something. I understand the car saw understand Joey Logano having the added advantage of being able to tweak things early with that team because they earn their. Right into the playoffs before this past weekend. But how does it make any sense? That penalties can end up being a good thing for two teams competing for championship. While the penalties aren't the good thing. It's how the teams reacted the penalties and make them an advantage. And I think that's like that at any sport. You have to find the good in anything. We're saying that now because Kevin Harvick advance through if that right front tire goes flat a lap earlier..
