"Sports leader. I charge advance advancing taking on the blues on Saturday. That'd be the avalanche and earlier this afternoon had coached the sharks. Was on with John and Tom talking about that winning advancing. It's a crazy time in the NHL right now Jenks let's hear coach on with John Tom earlier this afternoon. Peter divorce head coach of the sharks. Good enough to join us. And he was the one that challenged that offsides. Play. Great call. And I think coach first of all, congratulations. Second of all. I think you called the the call on that one ballsy ballsy by the official two two baked up there. But but it worked out great. Yeah. Thanks in. All it's been a crazy month since the playoffs started what a ride of for for us and for the sharks fans are here in the area. It's been some fantastic hockey at your seat stuff. The ball was referring to was our video coach who actually has is the one that's in the bowels Irina in and looks at all the plays and makes that call, you know, basically based on inches where where escape was compared to the blue line. So that out that's what I was referring to. And if if he gets that wrong, not only does the goal stand. But we also get a penalty. So he felt pretty confident about it. And thankfully was right. Full share for that, man. Pete full share. Yeah. There's a guy who's been in a locker Dunkin. When I saw it. I don't know. What would you saw when you saw it? I mean, it was it was close one way the other. I mean, he might have had escaped just inside the line. I mean for the angle is thought could have been touching by by a millimeter. I mean that was that was a close one and that was a gutsy one to challenge and a gutsy one to overturn because unless they had a different they could have very well had a different angle than we had watching the game on TV, but pool that was tight. Yeah. We we had. We did have a little better angle. You guys have seen publicly that I think a little got to solidified the decision a little bit more. It's still very close. But it, but I think he was pretty comfortable with it. I mean to watch it to to to I mean to be on top of your game and be so in the moment, and look, I know people get paid to do what they get paid to do. But but still I mean, there's a lot going on and to build a see that that quickly and look at it. And then analyze it and say, let's challenge it, let's go. I mean, it just a hell of a job. Yeah. No fantastic. Job me video coaches, Dan. Those guys that do those jokes. Really don't get a lot of credit. You never see them out in front of a camera. But invaluable in a in a huge moment in the game and the season for us. How about the lift pavonis can give you guys me. Not only we knew we knew it was going to be a lift emotionally. But I mean, obviously like having to get back on the he can play and he can put the puck. And then that's exactly what he did to start. The game off me really couldn't have scripted it any better. No. You know, what we needed it? After the biggest series going seven games the last. Keno game six of the Vegas series. Was double overtime game. Seven overtime. You know, it was we came into the series of Colorado. And we got the game seven thought we were starting to run out of some juice. And you know, the fact that we were able to put down score game in game six, and he gave us a little bit of a Fuste and some energy and six and seven that that after sitting out six was really what we need. I don't know if we would have got it done without without adding those fresh lakes. Peter damore good enough to join us the sharks win game seven at the tank. That's to game seven wins. And they're on their way to the conference finals to take on the blues. And we'll preview that in a few minutes, you mentioned Donskoy, and he said after the game that he didn't care but gave you a nice three one lead. He hadn't scored since January tenth at thirty nine games. And and as much as he may say that like you said, it it just gave you a boost. And it's got us. It's for him. It's gotta be good to see one hit the back of the net. It really does. He work so hard and he's had success. I mean, not a guy who in score escorts and big goals force over the years, including in overtime winner in the Stanley Cup final Pittsburgh here in game three. So you know, there's the guy that used to contributing. So I'd always killing them going that long without it and right place right time and a in a big one for him and he's type player. I don't think he ah tallied a point in the game. But I thought that was an correct me if I'm wrong, I thought that was Vander canes. Best. I had an assist I'm sorry. But I thought that was his best game in the series. I think so I agree with you. I think he's gotten better as a series going any really was a big factor in the bega Seattle in the middle of everything physically. The series was totally different. There wasn't really a physical woman who was more speed. So I think it took him a few games that kinda fine. You know, what his place was going to be. But I think you know, getting him and hurdle a Padilla ski together last night. I think really worked didn't and they scored early and he kind of took off from there. What was the biggest factor coach throughout the course of the series and being able to limit their speed throughout the neutral zone because it's pretty obvious. When you guys did that muffed it up a little bit. They had a harder time getting the puck in keeping the puck in. But when they did get that speed game going throughout the neutral zone. That's when they seem to be really dangerous. Yeah. We we watched the Calgary series, and they really took Calgary apart in the first round in Calgary had one hundred seven points one the Western Conference. So a really good team. And and really took them apart with their speed and Calgary ended up backing off a little man giving them room to attack. And so our goal was to try to take that time and space away as early as possible starting in the other teams end, and I thought our defence did a great job at keeping their gap. And and at that confidence to hang in there. And and and give them the type of room that that we felt Calgary did because with McKinnon and some of those guys if he can my little bit of space. They're going by Peter to Borgen enough to join us to charge win game seven last night at the tank three games to two they'll take on the blue starting on Saturday that third period you had to know that obviously the avalanche. We're gonna come out and play desperate. And they did they peppered Marty Jones quite a bit. And that last minute was it was a little bit crazy. But I'm sure that's that's exactly what you expected. It was not going to tell you. I've never this. My years coach neonates L into two finals, what's one with the sharks three years ago and one was New Jersey six or seven years ago now, but I've never seen a playoff series. Like this this year with teams that have been knocked out with you know, the way Jones cut us at the playoffs. And and where he is. Now, you know, the level able to come get to he really just flip the switch, and you know, in my mind been the best goal in the league the last probably two three weeks. So, you know, it seems like everybody's rising to the occasion. And and flipping that switch, and there's no doubt without a couple of those saves down the stretch last night. We might stay plan. I'm just curious and again, Craig Nathan wrong. I don't wanna be the guy that sounds like you know, what I'm talking about. And you're on the other end of the line rolling your eyes like Tolbert. It seemed like once you guys on the power play. Once you guys got into the zone. You're able to set at the power play. And you had some really good looks. It just seems like on occasion. I don't know. What it is. You have a hard time getting it in whether guys are trying to skate it in without support or they're just trying to go one against two and get the puck knocked away. It seemed like that happened quite a bit throughout the course of the series. Once you got it anywhere five getting entering into his own sometimes became problematic. Yeah. You're exactly right. You don't wanna enter powerplay did struggle. But I really liked how it it's. So yesterday. I think Joe Avella ski obviously coming back helps that he he's a number one unit guy and a critical power play guy for us, but disjointed, and and if you're entering, you know, even with the extra guy five against four if you're just joining with the structure through the neutral zone penalty killers are playing with. No, you know, you have to you have to be right on on those plays and and running those routes and and putting the puck in the right by. So there's no doubt. It was just joining it for a lot of the playoffs. Colorado some credit for that. So how they killed just like our penalty. Kill. I thought disrupted our play. But, you know, going forward here, we got a it's gotta get better for us. And I think have coming back helps, but we've gotta make some improvement, sir. Ouch. Fifteen to two and the third was that a with they did. Or was that something I know you guys wanted to, you know, get it out of the dome, but they kept bringing it back in. You didn't really have much of an chance to to attack was at by design, or is that just they were all over you guys. And he had a hard time getting it into the neutral zone and then back into their own. You know, what it was? It was a strange period because I don't think we played as poorly as the shot clock. Yeah. Indicated I thought I thought we actually did some decent things. It felt like we were under siege. Because the last five six minutes of the game, including when the goalie was never really got across center ice. But they got that early one in the third and that got him going. And I thought it was a combination of things I thought I thought for the first time in the series. We started to run out of a little gas. You know to be able to to get up the ice and try and put some pressure on them and take a little bit of the pressure off us also thought that you know, you see a team that's playing for their life on the other side. I mean, they they know they're twenty minutes away from from their season ending. And you see that desperation level go up..

I mean, Colorado just attacking attacking any just a great great night level ski getting out there and the noise when he walked when he showed up for for the game skate, and then the noise when he went out there in the first period, and then to get the thing rolling. I mean that was that was something special, and, you know, this shark's thing is really roller. I mean, we're getting today it's big roller coaster Thursday. But I mean what a roller coaster run for San Jose. Can't get it done. Can't get it done all these years knocking at the door knocking at the door. This looked like the year. And then suddenly they just fell apart down the stretch. And you're like what is what are we watching? And then they win game seven in Vegas. They win game seven against Colorado. Some of the big boys been knocked out and they're a Saint Louis blues team away from from the Stanley Cup finals. That would be incredible. Yeah, that's going to start Saturday night the western finals. We'll we'll talk again with Hedican and a couple of minutes just to give a little credence to young Copeland statement about he thinks it's an achilles is biens has been running for what it's worth. It's morning split-screen a win. Kobe Bryant went up a few years ago. Didn't hit anybody came down. And then they showed Durant similar deal. Brian, of course, had the achilles. The warriors of saying it's just a calf or Durant. Well, they can come back. We don't know see MRI keep a locked on a leader today. We'll get you the results as soon as they come down. You know, very, very bizarre. I mean when anytime you see non contact, you know, open floor guy reaches down like a sniper got him. You think achilles? And that here here's the question. I hate the speculation all the speculation on Twitter. Everybody's a freaking doctor. But I mean, it's just the nature of the thing. People care a lot. And it's just the nature of the thing. Twitter is like in the moment communication, and people are going to communicate. But. If by chance it is an achilles. If you're Kevin Durant. He's he's everybody thinks he's a free agent. He's not a free agent. He's got a contract. He's just the the assumption is he's going to opt out because of your option. Right. But I mean is that the worst case scenario for Golden State that he does have an achilles any ops in. And now you're now you're on the year, and you got to pay pay him, you're on the hook. I mean, that's very real ability. It seems to me his thing if it's an achilles greatest. He is he's one of the few guys. I think that a New Yorker the clippers would say he's so good. We'll take him. Now just to have him in a year. I think he's the one of the Knicks are so desperate. They would do anything. I mean, they have them. He could tell me as to achilles. Way better than Damian Dotson come on. You gotta give curry credit last night. Three plays another game. Where if you're not a curry fan? You say hey good during the regular season. But when the defense is tighten up etcetera etcetera in the postseason, this guy doesn't come through. And he is he's a really good player. But he's not at the elite statue. Then he pulls them pulls them out of it last night and the stat that keeps coming up without when curry plays and Durant doesn't warriors are twenty nine and four. So that gives them hope that they odds makers. That's surprising. Katie what you're saying? Of course. But no, he's he's obviously they needed. In fact, the odds makers to that surprise you six I saw one six and a half the Houston's favourite at all. That's a big spread though. What do you mean? That's a big spread. I think it is a big spread for a team because every has won seven there. Seventeen in one. One but every day teen at right, but I'm talking about six and a half every game has been four points or less in this Sherry, so they go through if been tight series, nobody's run away. But no Durant on the road team that seventeen in one and walking awesome. I don't know. I I would say that's that sounds about right to me. Okay. Yeah. You're going to need then they're going to need a huge, you know, back to all star moment for Stephan. Clay who combined for nineteen in the fourth last night? I mean, that's the one thing. Those guys when the lights were on Katie goes down with what two minutes to play in the third quarter. And there was this terrible vibe in the arena in somebody had to step up with some big shots. Now, I heard that green and cousins at the time out. We're like, you know, the leaders in that in that huddle sane guys, you know, cousins from speaking from experience having gone through an emotional injury. Like that and green from just being the heartbeat of the team. Just basically kind of gal. Alvin is the troops and brought him everybody together and said, hey, let's go do this. But it was Thompson. And and curry whose nineteen points for needed and they're going to have to go off. I mean, I I said warriors won't win unless they that combo goes for fifty warriors probably won't win another game unless that combo goes for sixty or seventy. Yeah. I I can't argue with that. Let's face it. There's you know green as outstanding all around player, but they're going to be giving him, you know, shots. They'll be given obviously dollars shots. They'll be given looney starts give him shots and double up whenever you can. And the other two guys a little Quinn cook trying to get a little offense and cook them, and you're gonna have to find point might be too big stage for him. They haven't used them at all. I know the well now shove him in there who who I think the realistic thing is who can give you points because that's what you're missing when Durant goes out. What are you missing? You're missing thirty four points a game five rebounds a game almost five. Assists per game a guy shooting fifty percent from the field. Forty one percent from three and ninety percent from the line in these playoffs. And to me the hardest thing to replace that of all those stats is the thirty four points. So somehow, someway, they gotta dig up thirty four thirty five points extra to compensate for for Kevin Durant at the expensive sounding overly corny here. But that's what champions do is what they get last night though. You know, you had they not been a three time champ in recent memory could they bounce back from the best player in the league going out the way they did. I don't know. But they sure did. And curry can't say it enough. He made the shots after not playing. Well, you know and not looking good for the majority of the series. When Durant went out he came through. So he was he didn't see Mike. He's physically dragging. Now. This report this morning that the the the the finger issue on the non shooting hand is causing him more discomfort and maybe impacting. How he's ever had it figure that was broken. I've never had a dislocated. It's just bro. Finger, and I've had a chipped. I've had shipped like a chip bone on the end of the thumb and the end of the finger. I've never had actual dislocation where it's, you know, where you know, had to be popped back into place, and that kind of thing and taped up, you know, what's funny, even give you one here in for what we do all, we do is talk. But you've been for you had a back problem that bothered you. I've had at banner dressy Itis and all that crap. Whenever you have it even though it's not like, courage right handed, and he shoots, right? It's on his left hand. But still you're just not feeling right? And even a little job like talking for living. If your feet hurt your back hurt, you're just not quite the same especially in a competitive game like that. So I'll give curry all the credit and all the slack in the world to and who knows how his ankles are. They're probably, you know Kay. He stepped up to watch Golden State. Yeah. You know, build a twenty point lead cough up a twenty point lead lose this megastar in full full stride, late third quarter and still hang on. It was it was an awesome win. It really was terrific win for Golden State. Now, you gotta think Durant. No matter what the news is is done as far as the series. Why? Because they're saying a great one calf is if if it's a calf strain hack, if it's an achilles copes speculated recklessly, I'm taking a guess reckless. That one sense that it is not what he was on the cutting edge. Are you kidding me as broken we'll hear promo as broken on Cambio with young Copeland? There you go, you know. But I mean, if if it's an achilles, obviously, not only is he done for the year has done for next year and his his career arc changes. But if it's just a calf, you know, and it's a calf strain. They say it's a great one that seven to ten days. I mean, he's done for the rest of the series not done for the year but done for the series, and then in that's the warriors can move on. If it's a great to calf strain. They're saying four to six weeks, which would pretty much take him out of the season as well. So, you know, the finals begin may thirtieth Golden State needs a win here. And then a win over Denver or Portland in the next round one more win against Houston. And then a four wins against whoever they get in the neck around, and then may thirtieth. That's when the finals would begin. So very interesting morning. And I gotta. I think the curr, you know, the the double f-bomb, I almost I was saying to you on the way, and I must feel like that's like talk about this. Instead of talk about that kind of thing again. He's talking he to say it, and but he's smart enough also to couch. Sorry, mom, you know, he softened it a little bit. When like you just recklessly got up. And that was a great effort win. Maybe you know, but it was caught and learn are also to blatant F bombs on national television. I flip over the NBA channel because they carry the press conferences in their entirety. Larry woods stayed on the on the TNT and the one I saw nobody laughs, you know, they just came back. Steve Kerr excited that you know, because nobody wants to have at one person is that comes I'm so my son learned a word for the first time it I'm suing the, you know, the broadcast hacked. I was sitting there watching with my teenage. Son. We looked at each other. And we we were like way to go Kerr. Okay, footsie. That's it occur. Your your effing giants? Jed. In my kids junior high school, if it's Murph kids, and they're, you know, five six seven eight, you know, then it's a different deal. Right. Then your daddy. What's what's up with coach curry that's up to Murphy? I think it's time to go brush your teeth. All right. Hey, if you won lineup for this discussion can the warriors win an NBA title without Durant. Eight oh, eight k next.

"Ramon Laureano last night, Greg or Blanco in the in the in the McCain perfect game. Boy, there's something to me about climbing a wall, and he. Jytte? It was gone. I mean, it wasn't like well it would hit off the top of the middle. And they just said he robbed him. No, no. This guy went over the top of the wall and brought it back. Yeah. And of course, if you remember Greg Blanco he went out to where next year's bullpen will be and so. And made an incredible catch. I would say the Bonko even though this one was incredible going over the top of the fence and Laureano is so unbelievable out there as a throw or as a catcher, you know, he he's incredible center field. I mean the guy just makes play after play every week. It seems like we're planning another highlight. But I gotta go with Gregor Blanco gear. I think off the bat. I thought that was no doubt ahead, Greg or Blanco somehow caught it this one. I'd off the bat. You're Glenn on the call there. It didn't sound like it didn't look like it was going out. So he had time to go back and drift back and drift back in time. It still spectacular. But I think I think I've put the white shark slightly above the white shark. Thank you. How many shots does? A giant said the merger in Blanco those sharks and giants Greg or Blanco the white shark. Jeff Marga the shark. I don't know any other shark always cool last night about the as they elect into it. Obviously, they didn't know but fussy was off and they had Dallas Brayden in the booth who through that perfect gate, right? And so he was able to, you know, take a little a little bit inside. What fires was thinking? It was. It was pretty good. When he got there. F P. Go ahead. If he doesn't wanna talk very modest like hell, go ahead. And what he got was just going to say I saw an interesting stats may seventh yesterday. Fires throws the. No, no, yes. Catfish hunter threw a perfect game may eighth in on may ninth. Dallas. Brayden throws the perfect game. So seventh eighth ninth. So maybe look for that next year sounds like a Cavill promotion. Yeah. But that's it. You don't count give you another cavity. She the way Dallas. And believe me, I'm all for doing your own thing. You see how he dresses for the broadcast. He had a cap on. He's got the beard down to the floor. And just you know, doesn't have the. Hi, I'm broadcast. I'm in a blazer or a monogrammed shirt. He just kind of doing his own his own, man. Yes. Yes. He is. And the young demographic. I would imagine that's Cavill, saying, hey, man, let's attract young. And so he's young. He's urban. He's hit his hey tonight. Man. You can't beat a double header, Mike. Go ahead is pavilion gonna play or not the cabinet. I hope so I don't know. Yeah. Because there's there's all that mumbling, you know, the famous Willis Reed. Young people are I'm tired of hearing this. Here's this guy. Shouldn't let's be honest. I mean, I am not as daughter. He should not go skate though for. Oh, gee, scaling skated on Monday. But it's day to day and the concussions. We all. Well, but I mean, it's very, you know, this is we know more about concussions now. I mean, I don't know. And this this was the guy who led San Jose goals in the regular season. He's the captain he's the heartbeat. He's the guy you want him out there if he can go there hockey players, you know, they're just beyond tough. If his anyway that he could go he will go. But I I don't know. I I would say don't go. Well, the wheel is was for you people who are not ancient early seventies against gets the Lakers. He hurts his knee can't play and then a seventh and deciding game against Madison Square Garden. He limps out takes two shots makes them both over Wilt Chamberlain, and then doesn't play again. But it gave him the momentum member Gibbs, obviously Gibson. You know, never took one swing in the World Series and won game. One never didn't play. Again, didn't need that was. An unbelievable shot. The question of the night is our question of the morning is who steps up in game seven who steps up in game seven for the sharks. I'm going with one two guys Logan catcher who just seems like when the money he he's a money player when the money's on him by his regular name. That's right. I'm gonna mix in a couple of ca- Chirs in in give the coach a little bit of a rest. Okay. Do you feel you under pressure from any demographic for you? Yelling Kucha that you don't wanna over us. All right. You just don't you wanna make sure Kuch gets used proper time and place. So, but I I like hooch tonight. And then I also like I also like jumbo, you know, just on pedigree a pedigree. I mean, you know, hall of Famer somehow some way he's going to dial it up, and and he's the greatest passer of his era, and, you know, come on this is this is the spot to me those two guys, and I asked a bunch of my shark buddies. They all say too much. They're all saying hurdle every Saint hurdles gonna step up. How many start buddy you're the have? I've actually quite a few in especially now that there aren't a playoff run. Okay. From these people really come out of the woodwork now. But what would you say? Oh, larry. I know you're Jones the goalie is Jones. Okay. It's you can't you don't score. You don't win. Yeah. Your thank you you. You're not gonna have. I I would imagine can have a six four or five, you know, to it's going to be low scoring pressure on nothing shutout mardi Jerry Jones. Maligned Marty Jones between the pipe you want to get in here. You win from hosting to now pressing buttons who'll win tonight for the sharks. Saying team or which play which play or the step up. I'm saying I'm saying could sure or jumbo. I like jumbo jumbos. Call I'm going to say Tomas hurdle. He's been hot this postseason just stole. Larry, Larry nice. You said all my buddies are saying hurdle. Well hurdle does strike you as the right guy in the right place right now, he's talked to begin. But he's walked the walk. Anyway, it's game seven tonight. I wouldn't night though, game seven sharks. Avs in San Jose. You've got warriors going game five gotta have it game. Five is Stephan Klay. Are they going to show up? Gotta have it. Gotta have it was across the park as as as reds, right? The as reds across the parking lot from warriors. I said it'd be more intensity inside the warrior game county will be watching. That's tough. And you're over there. Trying to the afterglow of might fires. That's pretty tough assignment for townie. This'll be a great opportunity talk to fires. You don't talk to a pitcher on his pitchy on the day pitches. Thank you Rik Russia. And then and then, of course, giants Rockies MAC Williamson chapter to how happy are you for MAC Williamson? I mean this guy trips over the mound concussion. Can't make it back three bombs the other night and AAA hit four home runs at a twenty four hour period. Three run shot last night in his second. Pat. It was I don't know what the exit visa was we can Frankie maybe look that up. That was a shot should know. It Frankie was a stream of milkman. I think got fast. It was no doubt. Or and it would probably didn't get any more what thirty feet off the ground. Maybe the voice of reason. We celebrate it as a family last night. But I know kids up for service. He windy there was arms race high five, but I will not. Gum confed won't have confetti ready. I'll give him a week. I wanna see because this guy's been.

"Scale to class go. But looking forward to talking to our friend Jamie Baker who now Jamie, could you feel the eyes on you at the sharks Blackhawks game when we all sat directly across from where you were pimped out in that amazing suit doing your analysis with Randy could you see the Fitz and Brooks crew looking at center ice directly across the entire game. Nope. Because the energy that you didn't catch me overlaid. The fact that I was going to be able to see you guys. Early correctly. There was no salutations. Hey, how's it going? Great to hear from you guys. We're going right into it. Yeah. Well, we. That was a fun fun game. That was a fun game to call. I open was a fun game to watch. I mean, Chicago play such a wide open game can Patrick Kane off closest pretty cool. I mean, yes, creative out there. But. That she let seems like eons ago. You know, what's interesting about that is and I feel this way. Unfortunately, like with Bumgarner and Posey with the giants is Patrick Kane. Jonathan Taves are so amazing. And the Blackhawks have won three Stanley Cups, but they have nothing around them anymore. So you're you're almost wasting these years of brilliance from these two guys and what I loved about where the sharks will as I appreciate the legacy of Thornton. And then I'm watching scheme seen Marty Jones, but then the sharks had so much more depth. And we're at so many more guys that could threaten and I'm thinking, you know, what this might be the best sharks team. I've seen like that's what we're talking about like out of all the success and all the playoff teams and even the President's Cup team. And even the Stanley Cup team. I Mike this might be the best sharks team I've seen. So I mean, you've got all that history is is is this the deepest, and and maybe most dangerous sharks team we've seen. I I would say so, but and I will I will also say like, I don't feel bad for her at all. No names on the Cup three times. Dislike Posey like the written. There's nobody in baseball. They feel sorry for him. Because of the amount of rings that he already is. And it just shows you in today's day and age with parody in most leagues. I don't think there's a lot of parody in basketball in the NBA. But in most plagues. Like if you win championships there is a price because everyone's chasing you and then everybody's when you went to championship. Everybody's value goes up five to ten percent. And there's certain guys that they they're gonna go elsewhere. So the sharks, you know, getting back to sharks. This is a deep team right now little little bit banged up which obviously creates a concern. But yeah, like these guys can come at you with four lines. They've got the d- when air Carlson's back. That's that's a great sign for the team, obviously. But we also saw last night Vegas is also a pretty good team. They went to the finals last year, they picked up marched on those guys. That's four lines deep. I think there are under rated as as you know, like, they don't have a they don't have a household name superstar like Brent burns or an Carlson or of logic. But those guys seem to get. Get the job done so much work to be done. Despite the fact, this could be the deepest strongest team the sharks of how to either in a long time or ever had. What's the the update on the pa- Veliky injury is something that we should be worried about long-term? Fire. My I hear the same things you guys do that. It's more than day to day, but not long-term lower body. Like, you're no last night. I mean, I know what had happened. It happened in that hit against Nashville. When he got hit by Forsberg you went in. And it could have to me it could have been one of three different things. I saw him. I was right there skated, right? By me sat on the bench wasn't in a tremendous amount of pain went back to the draft showroom. I thought it was for concussion protocol. Came back finish the game. And then yesterday morning. It was an optional scape. So we didn't know we didn't know until game time when he didn't come up from up that he wasn't going to be in the lineup that Yoenis Donskoy was back in the lineup. They moved Gus Nyquist up to the spot. So there's a little bit of concern. It's lower body. I'm not exactly sure what it is my to tweak Disney could be ankle. I don't think it's a grind or anything. So I think maybe it's also with how they're dealing with. Eric Carlson when it comes to pavillon ski so important. That there's a precautionary your enough precautionary mode because you know, you're gonna make the playoffs. And. You know, you wanna win the central or the Pacific you want to win the Western Conference. But you don't wanna put him at risk of potentially making the injury worse. So that's why I'm thinking they're at and that's why it gets a little more than day to day. But they shed it's not long-term. Hey, jamie. This is a weird left turn. And I I just don't know how to make it other than to put my turn signal on and and kind of do it. But you know, there there there is definitely a very in depth article where where you were incredibly open about some of the struggles you had as a professional athlete and with depression, and you know, some things that that you were that you shared that were really personal. I know you've been talking about it. And and free to be able to do that in the discussion in the NBA with damore Rosen and Kevin love and guys just talking about what it's like to be a pro athlete sometimes. And just why depression doesn't need to be something that were afraid to discuss and and people should reach out for for helping assistance in every situation. Kinda kinda share. Why you felt you know, hey, I want I want to have this out there. I want people to know my story, and maybe encourage other people to to do the same. Well know, you're talking about the guys in the NBA and myself, it's it'd be a professional athletes. We're human beings. That's what we are. You know, and. We were gifted by God athletic skills that we pursued. I was lucky enough to make the NHL. You know, I've been lucky enough to work for an amazing organization, the San Jose Sharks have supported me the entire way. And I started that night on the air like a challenge other organizations and companies to to support people if they know people are struggling with mental health, there is hope, and if you you know, if if you help them you can overcome it, it's not it's not like it's ever gone. You know, it's it's not if we've we've it's not like somebody who might get cancer, and then, you know, not terminal cancer or anything. But it's something, you know, we're gonna get it. We're gonna treat it. It's going to be tough for the next six months. But once it's gone, you're you're clear, you're good to go like that this is an ongoing process, but with with my platform and the struggles that are that behind the scenes daughter was a story where sharing like when I got a hold of Katie or you know, we got in touch with each other through someone. Else? We talked our first conversation. I knew that you did a little bit of research on her. But I just knew she was going to be the right person. I don't know why just felt right? I told her my motives are not for me. And the feedback has been phenomenal. It's been overwhelming. But that's not why I did it. I was already I'm on a good tough with all the work. I put in in the last year, and I'll talk about that momentarily. But I get it because I want anyone out there that struggling if if they're not telling someone to please go tell someone share with a family member, a good friend, a counselor at work somebody that you're struggling a bit of Dutch stuff. That's the first Ray of sunshine of hope, and then you've got to try and get something to stabilize your brain. And and then I have you know. So I that's why I'm doing it. It's it's it's for awareness and don't be scared to talk about it. I'm not this was this was not easy to come out. And it's kind of like sharing your your whole life. But there's sharing some of it's your dirty laundry to that you don't want to. And like for me. I was it was a tough read, you know, when it came out that money going it brought back some memories is. I didn't. Read the article before it came out, but stuff I do. Now, I have medications that I've worked with psychiatry that stabilize my brain. I've done all this neuro feedback. And I'm fortunate enough to be able to do that not meeting not some people can't afford to do it or whatever and going to go through the insurance process and all that, but the neuro feedback in the brain mapping out the radicalized some of my injuries from hockey. And this isn't just a my concussions. They manifested my ADD, you know, there's environmental issues and all that. But then on a daily basis man, I put in I put in my time. Like, I train the brand gets serious stuff. Like a lot of traction planner, and I have like four or five intentions every day. Whether it's today, it's gratitude, compassion empathy. You know, control perceptions, whatever I have all these little words that I use. And I'm jamming them into my brain. I have a gratitude journal I use pretty. Much every day. Thank you for the hot shower today. I literally wrote thank you for the ability to fill up my tank, I had enough money to put my jacket. Gosh. Like that's just gratitude for all the small things I read the daily stoic, which is an interesting book. It's kind of timeless wisdom on you know. Your brain. You can only control how you react to things you can't control external events, and and I and I have a journal for that. So I have like two or three different journals. I meditate I go to yoga so I put in the work, and that's kind of the story of hope, but you got up you gotta put in the work to train the brain. And you can you can retrain your brain. And now when things happen whether it's triggers external events like can handle them in a much more compassionate way. I don't have the anger that I used to behind the scenes that nobody saw. And I you know, I taking a medication that helps me sleep. And what's happened is? It's now I've I it's a snowball in a good way. And I feel better than I have in the last. I don't know. I don't remember ever feeling like this. So I don't I don't know. Like, you gotta go back to when I play out to talk to my my first wife, the mom and my kids to win. I had some of those. It's not just I had I had a lot of concussions, and then I had a lot of blows to that punches and knocked against the boards. All that. And it did change my personality. But this is the best I felt and I want people to know that story, and it's a story of hope not it's not the darkness. It's the hope that there. But you gotta you gotta talk about it. And you gotta be willing to put the work in. Well, jaime. I think the other thing too is that when people hear depression. It's you know, I'm sad sad. My girlfriend broke up with me or I'm sad. The warriors lost or sad, you know, scuffling at work. But but brain chemistry. You know?.

"And you could see what way we can recall what happened when he came back into the wind up too quickly in Boston. You'll remember got injured in that game. So I guess they've got to be somewhat concerned with Jews. With his health. But you know, I think they're another team. I look at it. And it's really the goaltending. You know for me. They're like they're they've been really good team this year. There say they're they're save percentage. Your team per se percentage is not very good and mortar Jones has got that team to the finals before. But you know, hasn't been a great you're better lately. But it hasn't been a great year form. And so you know that that's the bigger concern for me because. Yeah, you'd love to have you wanna have Carlson in there and playing well, but you know, until you know, you need your goal tender to play well, and you know, crying Carlson, you know, causing not he's not back yet. The way I understand it. Getting right to the end. I guess if you can get back in the lineup. But you know, for me, it's the same thing. You know, we just talked about Calgary. Right. I just think you know, Marty Jones hasn't it's still a lot of confidence. Those of us who watch the sharks this season. So we will see how he plays down the stretch and the ploughs, and hopefully, they'll get Carlson back, and he'll be healthy. I think you've got to err on the side of caution in terms of getting in back. Now the narrative in Toronto seems to be well, listen, it's not this year. Anyway. So it doesn't matter because it's really about next year and the year after once they figure out the whole cap situation. Get everybody signed. It's it's crazy. Right. I mean, listen, I'm sorry. You can't lose auto at home. You just can't. I mean, I'm not saying that they're winning a Cup. They're not gonna win a Cup. Don't believe they're good enough to win a Cup. They're probably not good enough together own division, obviously. Because Tampa's there, but that's still no excuse so hockey night in Canada, you let Ottawa teen is playing out the string beat you by four goals. I mean, come on. There's there's a laziness to the team that just makes me a little bit concerned about them. Yeah. They've been give a lot of goals have six in that game in law. So you have six against Philly tonight before one. They gave up against Chicago four or five goals early in the game all five fours, and there's another five spot and then earlier in the week against the Tampa Bay Lightning. They gave up you know, five or six in that game. So it's. They've gotta they've gotta figure things out on defense. I mean, it mentioned Gartner J gardeners. And that's you know, all the guy. They. Boom. Yeah. Guy. Listen, he's a light defender. I'm the first to say, he's a light defender. He's a guy that you know, and he's a high risk player sometimes to make mistakes that end up at the net. And that's why you know, we ended up getting booed. But the upside which people forget about is is the twenty time or maybe not twenty. But let's say, you know, eight to ten times or the game that you gotta easy entry out of exit on Gordon rate skater and can move the puck out of danger and put you in a position to be playing the often you bring that up. You've brought that up for years in it such an underrated part of the game. Because when you cover a team like I do with the Rangers at times, and you see team that can't do that. How it just changes everything that that first bad pass just changes everything offense of -ly? Yeah. If you can't if you if you cannot play if you cannot move the puck quickly out of your head you will be playing in your head. And always, you know, the old my old kind of joke about it. As the puck is around your netted eventually then here. That's not what you're looking for. So you wanna keep the puck as far away from your net as often during the sixty minutes again. And you know, like, I said Jay, Gordon was one of those guys..

Rider who probably affected the running of the Belmont when he wrote against him. But I I think there was some conversation between that writer and John service at that rider. Jerry belly wanted to ride smarty Jones, not I think some conversations of place, and you gotta give John granted stuck with. To you know. And I just thought that the only mistake maybe pending in may, you know, staying up here in the wintertime when that horse shit, you know, I know I got family of here. But it's not alone time. I'd have to be going. I'm going to Florida for this winter, you know, and and try to maintain connection with the worst down there because you're right down there. And maybe it would've turned out different. But you know, I've made mistakes that route my career were I was very comfortable. My my comfort zone was keystone, Philadelphia, park and parts and never left when I had opportunity to ride for different trainers. I wrote orders for LeRoy jolly, I wrote orange his rank white league browley Juergens and at virginity at one eighty nine yards and my comfort zone and were of several other reasons was stay in that t- stone Philadelphia park. And maybe Frankie decided I'm gonna stay where I'm most comfortable, and I've had the most experience of success. But I think Frankie maybe could feel the deal. He says. Says I'm going to Florida for the winter. I mean, what are you going to miss days like this on horses in the morning? What are you going to miss, you know, days cancelation, and maybe a bunch of winners, but you'll take and you'll you'll you'll maintain probably contact with Maximus mischief and stay on. And you know what? You'll also advertise yourself. Well, if you just had moderate success when you go to Florida at this time of year, even with all the heavy has down there. If you have moderate success, nobody expecting you like the world on fire have maters excess winsome raises put your name out there. Probably wind up having contact with other known trainers. You know, it would have done his his business. Good. I don't know. What influencing just to stay up here. Whether is agent Bobby Marquel? Didn't wanna let him go. Or you know, he could have maintained contact with Bobby. When it came back. But he also could go into Florida and gotten a Florida Jin. I'm sure somebody taking that's well known down. There. Frankie should have gone to Florida. That's my take on it. But as a my take on it is those owner should stop waiting. It's a very it's very difficult. Scenario. We we bring up Jeremy rose Johnny Rotem that day in the in the rebel. And then rose was back. He then wrote on the rest of his career. And you know, I I know there's people that. That will say. Rose may have made a mistake in the derby in going as close down inside is he did, you know, which might not have been the best part of of the racetrack. And that you know that Alex kind of bogged down late in that race. You know, obviously, there's people that are going to continue to critique Stuey regarding smarty Jones in the Belmont, the other horse that comes to mind who did. Stick with with a writer through the season lawyer run, and and John Mckee. Bob Holtus until until lawyer, Ron. Moved to the Pletcher and then at that point Mckee Makita ride from that point. But Bob old. This was was undeterred the he was writing John Mckee, no matter what on on lawyer, Ron I remember that was also a, you know, a quote unquote regional writer that and didn't we have we had this with? We had this with the good Philly withstand with Stanley gold with. Oh my gosh. With awesome. Feather. Who was the writer down there? The from Florida that. You know, everybody was trying to buzz around to get him knocked off had Stanley wouldn't wouldn't hear of it? Yeah. You know, you gotta get people. Greg it when they do stick with the right?.

"Keep an eye looking forward to talking to Andy to about not just about the week add. But some things that happened in New York, I'll save those. I'll say those because one of the. And I know everybody's excited. I mentioned this yesterday. There's the excitement over. Bricks and mortar he coming back. Second off the long layoff. Lost in all the hubbub built a suits performance through and ask Andy about it. Because built a suit was was tremendous. And if he's going to. He's going to follow up off of that. You're not gonna see nine to two again anytime soon pay ten eighty. And this was a good group. This was this was a very good allowance group that he beat and he'd been away since October of seventeen. So close to a year and a half. Still just five. These originally and New York this was open company though, because he had already cleared second level allowance company back at Saratoga in August of of seventeen. So most say look out for lookout for built a suit. Got one hundred out of this. I see what he says. Because I think that one kind of took everybody a little bit by surprise. The and again, I mentioned Steve Asmussen. Because the the win at Sam Houston. Midnight be mentioned it in passing yesterday. This was the Sunday action. We're so focused on on. What went on it? Gulfstream, but. In addition to. The ladies classic win by midnight piece in and she is she kind of. You know, she didn't walk out of the gate, but. Is she sort of let everybody let everybody get out ahead of her. And that Smith hats a Smith, that's a motivator a little bit. And then it was a point when she looked like, ooh, this could be you know, this. This is going to be a problem, and then she reach contention, and it was a little bit bit one paced. But then leveled off late and corralled moonlit garden and heaven has my Nikki, and I have to send a note to Ron Paige Lucci heaven has my Nikki ran some race at thirty two to one. She. Was his game. Should I can we use? Can we use game as dick Tracy as can we use the cot Campbell? She absolutely was dynamite in here and held on for third moonlit garden. You know, who basically was hounding her and was in very close quarters close proximity. And then just nectar at the wire, but heaven has Nikki ran a wail of race and bid might be gets passed them both. So when we talked to Steve we'll see where things go from here. And then as I mentioned nitrous with the very nice performance. And there was also. Not only did ask me where the to those tube steak wins. But you also had jersey agenda that was the race. We talked about at Oaklawn and. Jersey agendas performance really on a par frankly with the day before and. The wind from gray attempt. Jack van Berg a good second. To jersey agenda and eighty four buyers for both the winners, both jersey agenda in that allowance on Saturday and grey attempt in his wire job win with John bridgeman. In this Marty Jones and this goes back to opening day. They had the predictable big crowds in. And good engaging action. Speaking of Jack, the Burgh. That late pick four at Oakland on Friday. How about Tom van Burg for Mark Di Domenica? Upsetting that maiden group. Almost thirteen to one twenty seven sixty for motion emotion. Gets to the front with John court set up shop and just kept going, and you know, any of the including Irish mischief in the the Brad Cox that went off at two to five which was a little little over the top two to five but. Really? Nobody else that you would have considered. I I sat there, and I realized that a certain point this. They're not gonna get this horse, and that, you know, put a boost all right away. And then of course, some of the worst that great attempt to. Great tempt didn't go favored. I don't know if you noticed that Bank. It was three to two in there and long-range toddy the Asmussen. Was five to one from the rail. And ran well followed up from the springboard ran very well. And bowl door ended up being third at a nice price twelve to one the disappointments here Bank, it tried to his the same rally that we saw from him in the springboard and really didn't have any impact..

"I don't know if you ever saw that with Siam and everything too. Yeah. I remember seeing pictures of it. You know? Yeah. Wh why why was he confined to a wheelchair? Did you ever know? Because I remember Bret told me that there was some kind of operation that dynamite could get and he was ready even offered to pay for it. And dine was like absolutely not, you know, I'll never take your money. Don't waste your time. Sort of thing. I never heard that. I should probably ask bread. Pretty sure he told me that story in less. I read it somewhere. But I think Bret told me that. Yeah. I I mean, I never I never heard that. But I know I just figured it was always the back and all kinds of neurological damage from that and yeah. But again, that's another one. It's like when you when when he's gone, and then he became like, this this this recluse will see anyone Kate. You know, like people would want we go to England. And and you know, wanna see him. I think I know he would it would it would seem Ben wa and later he would see Brett, and I know Harry Smith he would see Harry Smith. But most people he wouldn't you know in his daughter, but for the most part like guys wanted to see him. It was like, you know, no, he's not interested in seeing anyone from wrestling. And he would never like none of the British wrestlers. Who went you know? 'cause again, you had this generation of British wrestlers where he was this guy who was a legend to them, and he didn't even want to see or be around wrestling or anything he came to WBZ show once in England, then what brought him back. Back. And I remember he was in a wheelchair. It's the only time ever met him. Besides the time in the hotel lobby in Winnipeg, and he was super friendly and his kind of holding court telling stories, and everyone was just kind of sitting around, you know, talking to them and listen to what he had to say. So it was actually pretty cool because he was really good spirits that time, and I know Chris said that a lot of times he wasn't. But and then, you know, it's just hard for me to believe that a guy who never had, you know, a paralyzing accident would have to be in a wheelchair especially as modern medicine got better. And better that somebody couldn't have done some kind of operations or something at least get them up and walking around. You're probably right. And I never really thought of that. But you're you're you're you're probably right. Yeah. And I don't know what it was. But yeah, you know, what I mean who who knows the mentality and the torture that he was living because again like, you know, like think about this. You're thirty nine years old you're in a wheelchair. These guys where your contemporaries are still in wrestling in. And stars that and it's gotta be, you know, just I mean, the whole thing started to be, you know, just a killer on his psyche. I a few years ago he had a gofundme page for medical expenses and won't say who who is in charge of it. But you know, out of respect the dynamite kid and his legacy. I donated some money to it, you know, hopefully, hoping that it would help him in some way, shape or form. Even though he didn't know me from flying the wall. But couple of months later, I got an Email from Marty Jones who obviously famous old school English wrestler who said that the go foamy was all scam by the who is very close to the dynamite. Actually was his wife from what I from. What you you walked out on him? Yeah. Yes. She took the money and walked out on him..

"I mean, like the guys like, Charlie Coyle. And met dumb, bud Vido need a rider, and you know, Jordan Reno as a rookie this year Jonas Brodin on defense. I mean, those are the kind of guys that if they can take their game up step all the sudden, I didn't Minnesota's harder to play against then have more of a chance in the postseason. But you know, when you think about it. You know, we talk about in baseball teams that are built for the regular season teams that are built for the postseason. I think the Minnesota wild is definitely team that's built for the regular season. Because they've got veteran guys what stand the grind. And they have a goalie. That's probably comes just consistently good night after night. He's probably a top five guys. So, you know, I think the Minnesota the keeper them will be those young veterans if they can take their game to another level. Maybe they have more of a chance in the postseason Calvin ask. Do you think the Pete damore will follow L as coach out the door since he continues with the line blender. He seems to enjoy using that doesn't work. Well, I mean Peter has taken two franchises to the Cup. Final. Was either the devils and the and the sharks? So he's had some success there. I think wolf is committed to people I think Pete show and he can do a good job this league. I think he's trying to figure out what he's got here. Because you know, they're trying to work call it into the group. I mean so far for call since it's been a mixed bag. He's playing wasn't twenty five minutes. But he's a by player. That's the worst number on their team. He's gotta be better. And he's gotta figure it out. And they gotta no long term. But they even gonna keep cross. I mean, we could get dry line. And maybe they feel like you know, what we can't sign them long-term. We'll just gonna move along. So you know, there's a lot going on behind the scenes there. I don't think you know, Marty Jones has been okay so far. But there have been games I've seen what he's given up the bad goal. They lost the Rangers last week. I got the first goal. The game wasn't a great goalie gave up. So, you know, I think that I don't foresee Pete going anywhere. Let's they really fall off the map, and they haven't there's there's seven four and three, you know, this is they've they're right in the mix. And I I get. The sense that they will find their way and get on a little bit of Iran, maybe this month or maybe somewhere the next forty games. But I think San Jose has got a lot south and guys on that rostrum. I think they'll figure it out. Now, I've got one from Tony because I kind of went off a little bit last week. I wanted to get your thoughts on this because I just felt compelled to defend Gary Bettman, I had gotten a tweet about you know, how bad he's been. And how the league's going nowhere with a tell terrible television contract. And all that. And I just basically made the statement we've talked about for years EJ when you look at the National Hockey League compared to the other three sports. It's not an American sport. It's not dominated by Americans. It's not a sport that a lot of Americans play. I would venture to say that fifty if not more percent of the people that are in a given NHL building never played the sport. But yet they love it. And it's not a great television sport. And yet, I think exceeds all the obstacles that just are inherently in the spoke. Court and I give Gary a lot of credit. We talked about it when we were talking with John Ziegler's passing that Gary has put this sport, not a different level. And I do think he deserves his day next week to go to Toronto. And Tony says Don you were spot on with your defensive Batman and current state of league, especially when it comes to TV deal, no offense to your current employer. But I hope NBC NBC sports net keeps NHL after twenty.

"Sudden shows up blinkers on here, and I understand he's fired off two bullets in a row, and that's not necessarily what we've become accustomed to from Burg and keeping Meinhof Berg is a horse that is normally custom to running from mid pack toward rear and coming with the big bid. Perhaps the blinkers designed to get him into the run a little bit earlier. And you know that the distance is going to be fine for him. But again, at a short price, if it ain't broke, don't fix it that sort of the approach, the mindset that I have with handicapping and just other things in general. Why bother my broad trying to do anything that's working go on with it. So clearly there's something there at a short price. I think he's a major contender in here, but I don't want him as far as this play is concerned. Because again, you got to continue to go back to the fact that if I'm going to keep Montemar girl, I don't. I don't really have much interest in playing. Amano Moi girl MacKenzie, Ramana Moi girl off. Burg's double would have to punch for a hundred dollars to get anything out of it. There were four other horses though that I am much more interested in in using and we'll find out. Are the likeliest win contenders in here? No, not at all, but I think they are the ones that could possibly if they were to win. You could still get a little bit of value having more girl in that first race in the Caribbean. So right in order and I'm just going impose position order the three still regard. If you have not watched the Diaw bets race of the day video for the Pennsylvania derby at Saturday's races day gone over and do. So you'll hear all the details about why can still regard. But he fits in here, especially from value standpoint, fifteen to one. I don't think you're gonna get that. I think he goes off in that eight ten to one range and from a win standpoint, that's fair, but hopefully get a little bit more value. Should he win if you keep Manuel girl prior to that, and it can tell you I'm also going to use Axelrod now Axelrod's five to one in the morning line, I don't believe is going to stay there. I think he floats up, but visually that's Marty Jones. It was a tremendous perform. He had slow fractions. I know he's relatively close to them, but he was all sorts of boxed up and buying horses. Joe Bravo had to go out to about Pittsburgh to get him out into the clear, and then finally came and he finished like a house afire. So this is a horse I could see improving. He's going to have to improve to win a race like this, but I don't think it's out of the realm impossibility. Again, from value standpoint, five to one morning line. I don't. I'm not interested in that, but I suspect he's going to be considerably larger than that eight one range when it's all said and done. Also gonna use Mr. freeze. Mr. freeze. I've made mention about the West Virginia derby. In the past that day was an absolute highway at mountaineer park. You got to the front, you didn't stop. He was also super early with a league usually don't like to see..
