In Rio, even a ban can't keep revelers from Carnival streets

"Cove it changes the way carnaval is celebrated in Rio de Janeiro for a second year thousands defied an official ban by coming out to the streets to party to the rhythm of samba sometimes as police looked on meanwhile at official events on the schools performed for a ticketed crowd but everything was much smaller says performer Eduardo Martino this is a kind of a replacement for the ocular carnival which takes place indoors those performances lead up to the parade at the Sambadrome which this year has been postponed to April because Brazil is still not passed the Omicron wave I'm

"Fascinating. Let me get you to expand upon that first point. You say, we have these principles, but we don't have details to our policies. Our elections really won on detailed policies, aren't we falling back into the trap of here's my PowerPoint presentation. Look at the distribution of income and the bell curve. Can you expand upon that first point, Daniel? Yeah. So I don't mean that you need to have that you need to campaign on a detailed policy. But if all you have is things you are against, okay, you will win this election. Great. Then why are you going to do with power? What did Republicans do with healthcare one day wanting 2016? They did nothing. They lost because other Republicans voted against their own proposal. And so what did people think? Democrats may actually pass something. So now let's give them a chance. No, we have to pass things. What is the Republican proposal for immigration? Oh, you know, let's go back to Trump and build a wall, but there's so many things that we don't talk about. What is the Republican proposal to secure communities? We're against defunding the police great. What about you say, I'm for increasing police presence in targeted areas with crimes or I'm for training on giving these resources to police officers or I'm for days on that. We need to have things work for. Yeah, so it sounds like and I can concur with this. If you win, for example, if they're predicting this shellacking of the Democrats in the midterms, the DOP may win, but they're not ready with their concrete packages. They say defund the police is wrong. Okay, but what are you going to actually do? These are the things they should be working out now, Daniel, correct? Exactly. That's what Newt Gingrich did in the 90s. He presented the agenda for America. Yes. They won and they passed it and it was a huge success. Yeah. The contract with America was amazing and getting rich remains. I think the greatest strategic mind in politics in America today, we need another new gingrich. We need a newt who's 20 years younger. We need him to get back into the saddle. You're absolutely right. He was ready to roll. He had a program. We're talking to Daniel di martino, follow him at Daniel de martino on Twitter or at his web page Daniel D martino. You can also watch us on Roku and fire stick that's Salem news channel the antidote to the lying legacy media. Welcome back to America first one on one with Daniel D martino. I want to close by getting you to expand Daniel on this. That response was great. The three things we have to do better is conservatives. The second one you said is not to cheapen socialism and for years as a person whose father had the scars of the secret police torturers on his body until he died. I used to get angry when Americans said, oh, that communists the left a communist, I say, really? Let me talk to you about what communism or socialism really is. However, Daniel, in the last three years, I don't have a problem with people saying that about the Democrats. When you see, you know, AOC wasn't elected as a Democrat. She was elected as a candidate of the democratic socialists of America. When you have Bernie Sanders, who I think was had the candidacy stolen from him by Hillary, a man who gladly unrepentantly and honeymooned with his wife in the Soviet Union when it was the Soviet Union. Isn't it factually correct to call these people socialists? Or are you talking about cheapening the word in another way? No, I said it. It is factually correct to call these specific individual socialists. I also call them because they are. They're even self avowed. So it's not even us putting the word on them. But I mean, on people who don't deserve it, on calling every Democrat that Republicans join against a socialist. That's not true. Not all Democrats are socialists. And you do not want to dump for Democrats to think that they are, because once they are, they will actually become a self fulfilling person. They have nothing to lose. Right. They have nothing to lose. They already are being called socialists. So why not us well do it? Yeah. Fabulous, wish we had another hour to talk to you. I have one suggestion, hopefully I can see the basic economics textbook on the shelf behind you. You're working hard on your PhD, but you've got to write a book Daniel. You got to write an autobiography. You're going to do that. I'm thinking about writing one about the story of what happened to Venezuela. There's no book in English about what really happened to our country. And we need to know Americans to know. All right, let's have a discussion on that offline, fabulous. "Means. Do you have any expectation as to how we arrived at this point? What have you learned from your fellow Americans of the same generation? Well, I think that the reason we're right at this point is because there's a strategy from politicians on the left who are not who do not have good intentions. People like Bernie Sanders, people like Ilhan Omar, like AOC, Rashida Tlaib, Jamal bauman, there's many members of Congress and our political leaders who are actually believers in Venezuela and style of socialism who are known to have raised their known to be friends with those tyrannical regimes abroad. And they're lying to Americans to people who are young. They want to indoctrinate people into voting for them so that the same thing that happened in Venezuela can happen here. And I know that that sounds radical for many people will say, you know, you're exaggerating. But you know what Sebastian and all the viewers, that's what we were told in Venezuela. That same thing that we're exaggerating. That's what we were told. We're told that we're not Cuba that we're not an island, we're a democracy. We have oil. We will never become like Cuba. We're worse than Cuba today in Venezuela. And it was so critical. It wasn't a coup. So don't come and tell me that that can happen here because Venezuela was the nation of immigrants, Venezuela was a nation that was free Venezuela. Was a democracy. Venezuela had the largest child reserves on the planet. It's something the United States doesn't have. And still, we are now poor and starving and 6 million refugees out of our country out of 30 million people. Do you have hope for Venezuela, Daniel? I unfortunately don't have hope in the medium term. I hope my hope is that in my lifetime, Venezuela will once again be free so that I can show my children and my grandchildren, the country I grew up in. There's nothing that I would love more than to go back and visit some people, you know, and go back and see my school, my high school, so many people, I miss and so many places that are dear to me. "Interview episode gained my mom's not on getting. Who's a special guests with me tonight. Nick martino and welcome. Thank you thank you so much for having me. So we know each other from the facebook group over blood. Yes know you from well obviously part of facebook group. You've seen me there. I'm also a professional enemy fighter. So there are some people that may have heard me I've been around the regional circuit in kind of the southeast area on and fighting since two thousand eleven. I believe so around the block a little bit. It's gotta be a whole thing to do which i will be asking you for the first question. I wanted to ask you is. What are your favorite game or games. Oh man it's funny because we were. I saw posting the overblown group about this today. About just all right. Don't think about it just react. What is your favorite game. And i like a little bit of everything. I think i really go for a lot of like a fantasy. Rpg's i'm really into like skyro- and dragon age. I got into man greet fall. I enjoyed have never played crete fall yet. It wasn't amazing but it it. It floats my boat. So i was able to overlook some of the something they of aspects of it have somewhat enjoyable experience the the writings pretty good through most of it. The ending was a little bit much. But but yeah. I think that's kind of what i primarily gravitate to. I've really got into some similar racing over the past year or so on my joy planks in different sports games and stuff like that. But i play a little bit of everything honestly games. Actually i believe it or not. I do not It's one of those. I don't watch a lot of anime in my spare time. I don't play. Ufc games and everyone's always come into the jin like all man. He played the ufc four. Whatever like i. Don't i do it for real and it's kind of like somebody like if you clean houses for a living. You don't really want to go home and clean your house with you. Yeah so yeah not even unless there's somebody fighting on a ufc card. That i know a personally. I don't really watch a whole bunch of anime in my spare time i have..

"You close with your two daughters or still two daughters around somebody below that before we go yeah well. They're five as five years apart and the older gal as i told you finished high school on long island and she we used to ski a lot and she introduced her to boulder colorado Back from a ski trip at steamboat and she said this is where i'm going to college and she did. She put in for early. Admittance and she did and she never left so she's still in the boulder area. She lives in lafayette. And i have one grandson and so they are they. Are there and i see them. You know intimately my younger daughter who has moved to texas. She stayed in texas and she married a gentleman that is he's has dual citizenship and they They have a home. Still in austin but They recently during the pandemic moved to toronto. They're still there a move in but he is from there any has family and he just felt it was time to do that. So they're there and of course you know there's always facetime and phone and so forth but when i will leave you with our guest this. I brought my daughter's up to be strong independent women that are truly had a cause. The title of my book is hope impossibilities. Just over the rising over the rise in my father's line annan the sub Heading is it's never too early or too late to create the life of your dreams. Harry never jin's or too late. And that's what i'm doing now my dear friend. Sharon lechter said to me in this past year. She said megan. You're not retiring your refiring so now. That's so good. And i'll leave you with this as we close. I always say this. But my pastor didn't message not too long ago Him at his actually his mentor Asterik one who's from texas and rick said. I don't see anywhere in the bible where it talks about retiring. You know does not. Just sit on the couch and watch tv. Maybe for some people. But i don't see that in the bible it's for me to fill the destiny calling on my life so guys a few the only way people get to hear this. I just issue in male female. If you're listening this you know somebody that needs to hear meghan story. Stories are what impact people's lives started to change the momentum of somebody's life can hear one thing and boom just like meghan did just like my friendly idea dislike all the people i've interviewed. They had one thing that happens from boom lives. Change megan's lives is meghan is continuing to change right. She's meeting new people. She's got new ideas doing new things. God is fulfilling his calling upon her life. And i say this all time in the way people don't get to hear that is if you don't share this and you don't download it and you don't make a comment or give us a review on megan's session so pleased when you listen to this. Please do that. And i say this is i finished. I believe that we should love god. I both people live with passion. Vision purpose says people perish for lack of knowledge and wisdom. "With temperature corporation as manager because i became a manager within six months and i was with them at a car saved money and then i knew i had to get divorced. I knew i had to. I bought myself a car and save some money and gave my car back. And that's when i was working in manhattan because i really needed a career johnny review tupperware from the summer of a i was going to say ninety six from seventy six to almost eighty four years but if this is a small inside story so my best friend growing up his mom worked on the corporate side of tupperware for thirty now and she retired eight years ago ten years. I thank you very well. Run company or those days clearly well. She suited very well with them for a long time thirty some years. Yeah yeah i know it's a. I learned so much from that experience. I am because i recognized later on my that. You know they say. Find your purpose while you purpose is really reveal to you and my purpose is to help others. Find their dream you know. Identify their dreams goals and desires and help them actualize it. And so i have been building teams since i was twenty. Six and build a team in the team builds the business so as i said we will. One of the largest. We will not by numbers largest unit in the distributorship at fairfield county connecticut. But we were the the top five always in gross sales so you learn so much so about marketing from them and it's always a husband back in those days. It was a husband and wife team. The wife was the superstar seller and then they recruited the husband who had a business background. Eight people came from all over the country different areas. Who had been successful. So i will. It was blessed by that and And then went on and use those skills to build these other businesses and one was helping my dad build this other division which is still growing very strongly in your hands in the cookie jars learned a lot of business. You're smart. I mean you. You had good multiple frames of income over your life now. You've learnt do that so so good that so few so let me ask you this question so if if if you're a a young woman Desires and entrepreneur to be an entrepreneur. Like this is not a coincidence that you're talking about this because leeann i just talked about it before. Like she was a nurse guests. I remember that she said You know michael. What's your wife. Making is a nurse. And i was embarrassed to tell her like you live in florida. Nurses don't make any money. You go to you go to texas or new york or somewhere ohio. They're making fifty bucks an hour ride and here. My wife is making thirty five bucks an hour doing cova tests right now and the thing that was your wife is a coach. She has a spirit of it. She can it she goes. I make way more money multiple six figures as a coach and your wife has more disease as much talent as i do. If you're an inspiring woman who desires to be an entrepreneur. what would you say to that person. What would you say. Oh this is so good. What would you say to the younger negga or the younger lifa or the newer that is seeking to be an entrepreneur. And maybe or maybe. They've tried and they struggled right. It's that woman number one. Love what you're doing because if you do not love which doing it will you will never. It will not work because then you will vacillate. You will second guess yourself. You will go from one appended to the post. You know you have to love what you do. I have been persistent. All of my life in staying in the same track now doesn't mean that i haven't evolved and i had because i came to austin from forward in two thousand and four and started a luxury spa which evolved to a luxury day clinical medical and wellness. So it but it's always been in the foundation of what i do in the wheelhouse of what i do. I love people. I love helping people. I love helping teams build. And so if you love what you do. It's not work and so there have been times. My friend that i had my own personal salamis pandemics but i knew and i could go off into other things of that nature but bod which is pointless at this moment but the bottom line is what sustained me through them is knowing that this was my. This is what i'm to do in this life. i'm to to create. i'm to create things that help others meaningful matanzas position but then also even if the tangible piece was gone. I e the skincare line. I would still help others. Help themselves to identify with their dreams. Goals and desires are help them than actualize it. So you have to love what you're doing and if not don't do it because it is not a it's not a sprint. It is a marathon. It's critical and then today it is so much easier though because so the am news word easy and that's not correct either but because the same principle stands but why say easier you don't have to have a product you can have an idea you can create Put makeup on you know sell may than buy makeup. Brush wholesale makeup brushes. You follow so you know you can have your job. He website with the affiliate program there. There's so many ways to make money that he just it was the didn't exist. I didn't have a shopping cart. I had a url by the way for since ninety eight people say like web guys and gals. Oh my god But the reason. I did as i had such sophisticated marketing material that this one company came to me and said but i borrow your material. I'd like to set up a website for you because it was do a training. And so i got. That's how i got my first url but the point is that there were no other forms of sale. I said earlier wholesale and retail and so over the years. I did the products in henri bendel in new york city bergdorf goodman and You know but but the point the point is. I have been focused on the salon slash spa industry. I medical aestheticians. Personally i love doing work But you know over the last years. I haven't but i'll jump in the room if someone sick and do that and i actually missed that quite frankly but what i'm saying is you must must love what you do then with a commodity that you can manage because if you have a commodity that developing skincare If you don't have the capital to do that don't do it. That's why mlm's have become so popular. You know but you because you have to have the capital to build. Something like i've done is funny and i'll finish this because i want to let people know how they can connect with you more and learn more about your way to doing some a lot of things that you're doing going forward is is my friend. Jamie cross Super super successful at making a skin products made soaps. And she did super super. Well just as a pastor is wife and her they had surveyed of home church and choose making all of them by hand allowing and superb like ten million. You know as a right and people i mean. She didn't say this. I can see that. She said it. People don't like industries that make products better like you brought network marketing industry. Why my my thought processes is not everybody's gonna Every single way things are done and now jamie is taken that company and put it into network marketing and scaled it five acts within a year and a half sheriff sheriff that. That's how an entrepreneur looks doesn't superstar says let's three and five and ten years down the line and says i can't keep doing this by myself. I need help. I let me just inspire women. Women already follow me. I've already used clicked finals to build this massive business. I just take it out and have millions of people all around the world. Doing what i'm doing. So you know through your stuff expensive right but it works exactly well. That's the key you have to have a product performs first and foremost if something doesn't perform then you should not do it either. So like you said with jamie's product performs and so she is just a really evolved her mode of sale and quite frankly michael shared earlier during the pandemic lockdown guy knocked on my door and said would you like to sell me your business and i'm like one or two come on in and see us have some teeth over six eight over there that was march thirty first and i said to the man As we talked. I said because i knew as i knew back to the holy spirit. I knew my time with that. Brick and mortar was coming to a close even though i had added regenerate stem cell in one thousand nine hundred and it did very well and i was loving doing it. You know. i'm not a nurse but meaning a running in helping people. But i knew that that was coming to a close i just could sense it in my spirit so when he came and knocked on the door. I'm basically maybe week later. I said to him. I'm not interested. In selling the trade name. The product line. The website the url. And he said that's fine because he had other marketing plans anyway. He really wanted for the equipment. The location the brick and mortar. So we close kings second and so at that point. I consulted for him for a few months and then since then. I've been redoing the website because it was a spa site and abandoned in philly program wholesale ability to buy online. I'm putting it out there. Revenue right made him absolutely reentering lagged. You do the work one time you tweak tweak and then it just keeps coming in over and over and over again but i i am going to put this out there. Into god's you know network that i basically am ready to sell novato spa you see asset and so that's why i really didn't want to sell it to him and tied in. He wouldn't have paid the proper money for it and basically You know. I wanted to do whatever you know i am. The lord is putting my spirit that it's time to lighten my load with that and do finish my course which is called propel at business life accelerator to start scale and sustain the business in life of your dreams with my five cs clarity courage. Commitment and confidence incompassion compassion and so basically two modules starting scale and then sustain is going to be a mastermind and so this is coming. And also i am now do working with a company called life wave which is a seventeen year old business said has a non dermal patches and they just brought out two years ago a stem cell activation patch. I am so pro. Photon light energy end. Peptides i e than stem cell. So that's a lot of words but the bottom line is. I want to continue to help people with their health. "Let's start the show then with the big news from the weekend. Mexico after a long long wait finally dropping their olympic roster twenty-eight players name for that martino now at first herk we saw in the list on foresee. Today we find out. He's out of the list. Apparently wolverhampton is not going to let him go because it would cost them another ten days of quarantine on the back end so documented then replaced by sunday jimenez but really the story with this mexican roster. My goodness is who's missing. No tequila lozano actor. No the line is on top of the affor- mentioned no raul jimenez. This this is crisis alert. isn't it for mexico. Yesh mexican fans pundits literally grasping at straws are trying to point the finger trying to figure out what's going on been conflicting reports about it. He meant is already close. The door some are leaving a sliver of hope that wolverhampton in the mexican mexicans. Come to some sort of agreement. And that he menace can make that trip i. It's doesn't look good. It's a lot of star power. You mentioned the star power. That's a lot of veteran presence right there. That's a lot of important players missing for the mexican national team.

"So our patients are so much healthier. it's a product that kills bacteria viruses and fungus and it also kills code so we pre rinse with it and so it was during doing. May we usually get about seventy new offices. Sign up a month in may when everyone came back we had a four hundred eighty six new office. Sign up so you know it just raises your standard care which raises my production. So i think that's a. I could say that i don't run it. I have a high janice does a great job rather than so they. Just take care about problems. They're easy to work with. You know what's the worst or had not really stand out to me. I think there are some that you know. If you get bad service she just move on one of those type of things you know and usually for us. It's it's not so much in the dental industry but its construction like when you're building and they let you down and they go okay. Well they will work the next building. I think that's the most local construction. Yeah definitely definitely. I almost almost every started by interview has like construction delays. I mean the great. Some companies are really really great but a lot of times that architect or the ryan tractor. Whoever is not you know but but once you get someone good yeah definitely so then. One of the last questions is what's one of the best pieces of advice that you can give to us right now. Someone who's probably a more new. You know what i mean. Maybe they're starting out there thinking about opening their startup or maybe acquiring a practice. They wanna be in your shoes. One day owning a couple practices some of the best pieces of advice. You can give us okay. Number one is not for everybody. He got a really the side. Hawaii wanna do if you want to because you want to have more free time belt it will now is worth it absolutely. It's changed my life. When i go on vacation. I know work. But i work where i want to. My schedule is pretty fluid. So for example Commit ten today. Well that means. I might have to work sex. I still gotta get a job job. Done side big. The biggest thing is why the why you wanna do if it's because man. I just want to be on a beach somewhere. Not worried about this now if you want to be able to grow and understand. That was your two hands. New can only produce so much. If you understand that probably all of us have read the book rich dad poor if you want to be profitable you can only do so much with your own hands but you have to be able to understand that you have to manage people and the other thing that i think dentists in my mind position. That are already working associate. They want them to be as good as them. I will tell you this. They'll never be as good as you. 'cause we all think we're great you know. But they're never gonna be as good but they can get almost as governor as you if you give him great train yet. Give great drake kansas. Hire some of the corner go. Wow they're not doing anything. No you've got to have a training program. What's gotta hold their hand for a while. So i think that takes systems and protocols and people and so. I think it's buried worth worship. But i also think bad you've got to change your asses. Dentists are control freaks and you can't control Have ten twelve dentists work. They currently right now as we're speaking working on patients and i hope they're doing their best and i can give them training. We can do the best. But you know what i have to let that go back and and are they doing it. Exactly why i want it now. I will tell you know. I'll give them the train. I'll show them how we do. Crown routes how they but then at the end of the day it's their license and how they have to work on. I'll give him guidance especially fans and when they get in trouble. I'll be there for help them out all stop. But you can't be a control for at this. You've got people be able to do their job. Yeah now micromanaging. All the time i get you. Can't you get you awesome already. But thank you so much for being with us was a pleasure but before we say goodbye. He tell our listeners where they can find you. "So they're out there just making sure everything's the way we want it to be and the way not way bob martina once a and not the way. Our management wants a but the way the offices have decided. This is what they want When you said are they different protocols the same but they all have different agreements we let them make agreements so the office comes up with their own agreements. This is what we want. We want no cellphones or we want only wear white shoes so that might be different in one office. We let them do it. And then they sign off on it and they know the roads and then our people kind of go in there go. Hey remember this role and you guys all agree to. Let's get back to that because you're not doing ab abc. And and so that but chellaney is our main trainer and then she kinda she has a person mu person into that and show spend a whole day training. Chauhan them up to our plants. People were out there. They'll train them at the office and both these girls have done every our office. Whether it's an assist hygienes Front desk financial be able to train them for a couple of weeks. New people coming in. We just don't wanna thrown out there. Which a lot offices do we think. Highly training for start seeing patients and over make mistakes but if we can show them the right way and how to handle mistakes that they attend this good okay so then with that or they already trained in with care stack and things like that okay. We're gonna teach everybody care stack. They had to learn it first and then they teach everybody. Yes that is exactly what we did. We trained all of our core management team first and then we went out there and train cursing now cares. Back has their own training. They've done very good with us in. We still have a weekly meeting every every week with care hairstyle on. Hey what about this. But not least they'll and then we distribute data out to everybody else way we use scarce back might not be exactly someone else uses aspects. We always went to filter through us and say okay. Let's figure it out. I mean how should we train it sometimes. It's just a video to everybody so tom's joining actually has a half hour meeting with everyone. The one hundred twenty half hour meetings that you'll have to train them in something if it's something big that yeah so that. That's you know bud cashback about a really good job of trading us answering your question. That's really really. That's awesome to hear about your stack. I know for the listeners listening. If anybody doesn't know they do sponsor this podcast of anybody's ever interested you guys. Get an exclusive deal with them. They can check it out on the show and below. But i wanted to ask you bob with your practice right now. What would you say like some unique systems in your practice. You're very proud of that. You've implemented that Across the whole board. Oma hijackers system. So they all have to rooms and my hygienist this clean teeth and co diagnose with assistance will take the films to fluoride treatments you most of the paperwork but higest sign off on it which is another great another reason why switched to care stack. Great notes oh my guy. It's so easy to notes in there. So big big reason why. We switched gears so Hi janice with an assistant can see twelve fourteen patients day without an assistant. Seventy eight so much more productive. And i think it's better for the patient because they get more time with the patient without doing all the other stuff that they don't need to do they don't need to take films they don't need an dentist always save me all. That's a waste of money while you're doing that kind of stuff. I'm like okay. Can you be more productive with an assistant. Yeah also kenya high jealous. So i think that's what we're really proud of our hygiene department and a and b that in again were like i said. I think that's standard of care that we have. There's a high standard of care. Iran gets oral cancer exams. We have probably ninety. Five percent of our patients get fluoride treatments. It's all from our hygienics being able to have a great relationship with the patients. What would you say. I mean like you can give me a Just at the top of the head of you know like how much more that increase our y when you had an assistant for the hijaz like how did you guys start. Implementing that what made you want to say. I think they should do this. We learned a long time ago. And i take. It actually was fortunate management. Which was i mean. I'm maybe thirty years ago and in virginia. There's always been a shortage of hygienist like there is everywhere right now. So we take a high paid hygienic and match with a lower paid hygiene assistant and we can produce. I would say they produce probably forty percent more everyday forty percent. Yeah and and and so. I can't tell you. The profitability will have broken down that way. But i do know they produce they produce more and again you know it's just just more productive. They see more patients and they have spent more time with the patients. So i think they were. You use a four letter word here. They sell dentistry a little bit more than a single book Yeah you really really have to treat them them. Well you know what. I mean the hygienics and then kind of let them know. Hey here's your because i mean. It looks like they're the ones kind of making a huge portion of your collections. Right would you say. I think i think i think we're probably improbably darden by percent. That's where we wanna be of art collections. Haydn's by thirty option. I think that's what we shoot or some or low higher are a little higher pizza's probably fifty percent. Because we on all kinds of but but we're around thirty five percent. That's where we wanna be. And that's kind of way but again as owner if i wanted to look at my profitability. I'm probably making more profit in the hygiene than i am doctors. 'cause i gotta pay doctors to do their work right. I still gotta pay hygiene. We do have a bonus system and everything but it's more profitable. Yeah what's the bonus system look like so basically we take all their salaries and we multiply it by five and that's called bam say it's two hundred thousand and then anything they collect over two hundred thousand. They get twenty percent and it's based on a three month rotating area so they go over that and they get twenty percent of the office the collections of m. a. And like i said it's my elkins office. Always over a thousand dollars. Always but they've been as high as twenty four hundred dollars extra month. Okay that's good. I like that. I like that. A bonus just very simple. It's not real complex. It's just taking salaries multiplied by five. And whatever they get above that they get twenty percent. Yeah okay. I know this has been. I mean you've been in this game for a long time so throughout this process what would you say have been some of the best companies you've worked with and some of the worst companies. You've worked with well. Golly i'm gonna give you wanted. I've got a. I got a one of the best companies. I worked with but i i kinda run so it's kinda hard it's it's called award came you ever heard of working now or care as national mouthwash that it replaces cortex and we action being in the dentist came up with a added cortex and the reason. I say i'm cheating here The reason why. I say it's some great. It's raised our stairs. We.

"It's worked russia. What we what we see. It works for us so we go. We're really seem increasingly patients. Maybe other people would like this and so this is where we can absorb bill where they Enjoying this. I'm looking at a google right now. Is this show too or no does make sound like cartoon like snippet. Scwhab several cartoons. We have several cartoons our defenders. That's that's what we did. you know. We started with the carted. First we start with the characters draw than we put in cartoons. Then we find those cartoons. We've built the costumes and we have different. We have different like we have a what's called water bottle says a thirty second commercial with the snub vendors. Talking about a you know you should have water in when you put your child to sleep. Not not juice you know. Believe it or not people still don't know that and so today they do certain cartoons and different things like that. Wow yeah this is like for for those listening. Like don't think this is like a cartoon it's like you know like those shoes you know this is like like on cartoon network it looks like like is legit. You know what. I mean like. I was looking at it right now. And i'm like is this. I feel like. I've seen this teen titans card to never yourself and then you're here. It's you guys. Wow this is nice. This is really like the wall heroes so all every kid for new kid gets to mass when we take a picture and of course we put that on social media and everyone loves it. You know. Mom gets the see it on get on social media and so it's a marketing idea to increase. What bill is what are your most profitable type patients kids and one of these like that. Dr will go. I wanna work on kids on a more. That's okay get an associate you know. That's that's that's that's great. You know Young kids right out of school. That's what they can do. They work on kids really well number one. They're very caring. It's not a high skill set like you don't have to be placing implants on him but it's fun. You know what i mean so it was fun and we're still building. Were still want to do a few more cartoons here. It's gonna be nice. It's nice you said. How many do you currently that used to seven. We have we currently own seven. Yeah seven okay. What is your most profitable practice right now. Which i'm assuming you might be this. One right simone finish. Your percentage wise the pedo. His original office probably is the most productive. One of our most productive offices actually is out very rural area but the patients come from everywhere like you know. Sometimes we have snow days. We'll have a foot of snow on all. My other office is closed but not them. It's not a town that has to have fifty sixty seventy thousand people in it. Sometimes i mean elkins is probably Both very successful practices for us sometimes. Six seven thousand people but it draws from a lot bigger area. Gotcha so that one rural one right is more profitable. What would you say if you can call your least profitable on right now. Back to the area is mortgage and the reason is. There's just a kind of dentists there you know. There are a lot a dentist so patients have walked of choices in a small area. It's not like there's a lot of dentists you know. If there's a million people in the town is still only fifty thousand people in the town. Very transient to very transient and plus the cost labor higher in the college. You know there's more jobs you know. So i think that's probably are less profitable and we have one. It's very productive in that. There's a big difference between profit and protective. You know like you know. Do you wanna be profitable or do you want to produce you know. Do you want to have these great godly numbers more on the profitable and you know. We had an article on us of dental economics. Golly is probably about chantoiseau years ago. It will said have be like tony. Gwynn hit singles. not home runs. We don't do fifty sixty seventy thousand dollars cases every day we do. Our share will every now and then we do have specialists. We have orthodontist workhorse. Pediatric communists appeared on us. And we're hired peac here but our production Were pretty productive. is has to do with great hygiene having great hygiene great recall seeing patients back. We got a lot of new patients. We do market with a smile. Defenders with wilson martino donal and our marketing more about education. Not saying not really saying come to us. Don't go to them but our bread and butter is high and bring a lot of patients have been given our doctors as many at bats as possible. Got okay so then. Out of these practices. I mean on the average or maybe we can just pinpoint one practice that we wanna talk about like what on average. How many patients would you say. You're currently bringing in monthly between say low of fifty ever cry twelve. Okay wow so what. Are you doing for marketing and advertising so our number one marketing strategy which is not really a marketing strategy as much as part of our culture is just getting back to the community from today. We're talking today. Today is our free kids that all my office right now. All my offices were seeing hundreds of kids for free today and every year. We have a free kids day right before they go back to. School would claiming x-rays and then if they need anything we sent him over to the upside and they work on him so you know. I think that's what we're known for our big thing. Vitiors twelve months giving each Each office has to do something that gets back to their community. That's the best marketing fresh. You know on goodbye dolan good and so that took on another level win about ten years ago. We just came up with this idea. Heard a song and it was about messages from home from lonestar. They put over one of their songs. And it just got to me. I always knew that the military sacrifice. But i didn't realize what the families at home went through. I think about my i have kids and the my wife were always trying to get you. Go here you go there. What if she had to go. How would i do without her or how she do it without me. Ms what the military people have to do on a daily basis and not on top of not knowing what's happened to their loved ones. It's just such a sacrifice for home so we said you know we're gonna shut down day and organized just shut shut down saying give free services to military family members who wanna come in..

"Because you know what. I was dispersants notion. He needs investment in maine and now as investments panel. So i would never be without him so yeah horribly thing sounds like your partner has something in common that i haven't come in collecting checks right. Yeah so then rewind a little bit you said you brought in. When the practice owner previous to you the first practice was trying to kill their practice And they're like al shabaab you come in and take over. How did that go what. What key team members did you bring. Oh wow that was. It was a crazy time. It was a was a little practice. Upstairs had three opportunities. One of the auditory. This is located in one offertory. Slow speed was still hang. A bell driven my hygienics when she had had talked to the patient. More because they had to down the compressor So loud so you know and it was just one of those things. I brought the hi. I brought a one of our managers from other offices up there. And i was a young guy like i was probably a year out of school when this happened. And i think the great thing about it is my partner and the guy that we bought axa. We were on the same page number one. Every patient needed. Twenty eight grounds is just one those things. But i knew if i went in there did bat said over eating. Twenty eight crowns eyewitness earn their trust. So you had to work slow Was that type of practice. She couldn't go in there and just blown away And so we went slow and and we built it in and and it's grown. We eventually moved out built another building in. We have in place of its start with key members right now with the having a staff. All of our practices are very staff driven very much that the staff takes over. It's all about our culture and we always say you know we like what we call bobblehead doctors doctors that just say whether the staff members go to room three and shakes his head up and down she works on patients and the staff takes care of ninety percent of it. Wow so break it down to me like what is staff jim. What what culture do you currently have in your office. If you were to put in words our culture is about. Everybody wins together. You can't have the doctor winning in or even the owners winning if the staff does a great bonus system that if the office does better they make more money and like in west. Virginia salaries are obviously a lot lower. Your at but we've had bonuses and some offices bonuses Two thousand dollars a month apiece extra month on top of what they're making and that's a lot of money here you know and i. It's really a lot of money anywhere right. you know. And but that was from their hard work so the harder they work the more money they make but in general it also comes back to you. Don't treat the patient right. We've been around for fifty years can't be around for fifty years. You don't treat the patient right so so it is about production but it is about. It's always everyone asks me why. How increased my production and increase your standard of care. I think everyone should have fluorides. We charged for fluorides. We have a high fluoride percentage of you go from fifty percent fluoride to eighty percent fluoride all of a sudden that's gonna increase your production because you increase your standard care. It's all about team. Very team oriented. Gotcha gotcha how big. Okay really quick. All the practices. Do they have a specific name or different names. You know We have five Martino dental which that's just happened to be where we started with. Not the greatest marketing. I go back and change it but we kansas Call tlc donal Just because it's in the same town as the other one so just had an opportunity to buy a practice. We didn't wanna margin and then we started a practice in would call. Let's call the smile. Vendors and smile defenders of pediatric practice we invented superheroes and we have cartoons and we have cast. We put that together and again wickedly lease. What they amass kinks. We put together and we actually have offered it to other offices. And it's not a franchise licensing for like hundred dollars a month bacon us our small vendors and we actually have come on california. We have a couple in las vegas Florida and one in alabama. And this we just start on next. We haven't been get our first convention aired a couple of weeks south southwest the dental conference. And we're going to have all the characters and we'll just see you know what we found is when we opened up this all pizza office and the reason why we did it it was it was a starting and because our other office was being overwhelmed with pediatric. And you know and we also do medicating and and so we just were having a lot of kids there and it just seemed like we weren't able to concentrate on adults and kids so we put them off another practice and all of a sudden it started growing and the one thing that amaze me which i didn't know i didn't know this but i guess my numbers weren't broken down in pediatric is very profitable practice. There is not doing procedures. I would say it's almost double the profitability of the pediatric practice versus a general practice. Ed so what we decided to do. Like wow maybe we should see more kids so this is where we came up with a smile enter. So we've been incorporated that dr general practices and so we have rooms like that. We'll have stopped a waiting room. All kids get spot of enterprises when lead. And what we've seen is that. Our new patients a pediatric patients as increased. Though well over thirty when when we put one of so wow okay. So this is something you guys created small defenders and royalty. You're you're letting people kind of get the idea and the the the name right. Yeah so so basically. They play like a licensed bill. They pay three hundred dollars a month. I think that's what it is somewhere around there and making us the smell of values name all of our characters thinking the by we have smiled vendor tooth brushing smile. Offender differ prizes. We are like a scrubby stop animal and usually vitamins such ball with. They're not more expensive than prizes that they would get somewhere else. You know so. So we have to brushes canes mass all of this small defenders on and then we have we have certain would be call playbook we give him a playbook on how to grow their practice. What's worked in our practices. Grow their portion of their practice whether they're all feeds or whether general and and so they get you know we assign a team member with them. And like i said we always say you know if you sign up and you get one new patient we pay for it and were pretty much guaranteed. You're going to get more than one. New patient you know media likes to dino were always on. Tv we have big cost. Like i mean we have like if you would go to universal those types of classes you know and like this guy can superstars get these big muscles and you know kids love it. I mean actually can super smile one time on. We opened up an office and we can find out what size cab do it. And i'm out on the street. I mean there's cars stopping by taking pictures with sound. It's fun you know what we're trying to make their visit spun and yeah.

"He does a lot guys i mean. He currently owned seven practices on top of other business endeavors that he he is an that he owns and so much more in this episode. We talk about little bit of everything but we also talk about his his son practices. We discuss how he came to own. The seven practices was never part of his plan. Was number like i'm a want multiple locations all the time. No it just so happened and when it happened. He had to implement the right key team members so he discusses the proper team members that he brought in in order to start seeing his business escalate right or business scale in order to scale it and then we also discuss how all of his practices are very staff driven meaning. He has a hundred and twenty employees currently under him right now. So that's a lot. How does he manage it. All what is he doing all that stuff. He talks to us about he. He credits it a lot to his culture from his office so he tells us exactly how he produced that culture. What type of culture he has in so much more. It's very very interesting. And then we kind of jump into specifics with his practice not all the same summer pedo practices or one of them is a pedo practice now he tells us which ones are most profitable which ones are his least profitable and why and the pedo practice want is so interesting because the way he came out with this idea and how it just blew up for his pedo practice he jumps into all of that and how he went into the marketing behind his practice called small defenders. Maybe some of you might have heard of it. Maybe you haven't but it's caused small defenders. Look it up if you haven't look at how his marketing is for. Small defenders is brilliant. I think it's it's really really brilliant. So he goes into detail about that. We also discussed his bonus system. What does his bonus system look like. It's very simple. But i know a lot of you guys have asked how do you give your staff bonuses and so forth like that so listen to this if you want to know how you can probably you know copy editor or make something similar and then we also talk about how he credits. One of the best things in his practice that created a system which is having assistance for his hygienist and that's super interesting so he goes into much much detail about that and he gives us his best advice for owning seven practices and so much more guys without further delay. Here is dr robert. Martino has gone right great. Good time good. But this could be here if you don't mind me asking. Where are you located right now. Bridge or western So it's like central west virginia about an hour and himself pittsburgh. Have you always been there your whole life or yeah i have. I went to dental school. Wvu and came back home in west. Virginia we always think is of like a secret everyone across the country you know and and we we we keep it that way you know. It's pretty laid back to have a really good life. You know everyone unlocked you know. Does the locker door keeps your keys in the car. All that kind of stuff. So it's it's. It's a great area to be here with family in the region kids. Nice really nice out there. Awesome so bob. Talk to tell us a little bit about your past you present. How'd you get to where you are today. Wow big question. When i think when we started off i was an associate and we had one practice and it was too big for one guy but not quite big enough to so We were at christmas party. One time and an older dentist come up to us and said hey i i'm trying to kill my practice. It won't die will you. will you come in. maybe take it over forest Half hour we said. Yeah sure you know so. We went up there. We really key team members and we started growing that and then all of a sudden another practice came around. she lead it re- really had no plank. We we currently have seven offices Planes it just have. I know nowadays that some weird 'cause i know people are out there with Group practices plan at mergers and acquisitions our Happen and it. Just we would take what works at one practice and what it in another practice and we grow and then the age of thirty eight. It just got too big for me nan. So i had to retire from seeing patients and this concentrate on working on the practice down seven practices. We have a hundred twenty boys. And i went from managing miles. Manson people bowser lot easier. But the but it was. You know again. When i was a dentist i worked about twenty seven hours a week on patients but there was all this other hours. Chad work on the business. And so that's what we did for identity now we we let them see patients so they don't have to worry about all the other stuff that goes on. Take care of that. So is it just you who currently owns this or is it like a team. I have partners at. I'm i'm the one that really runs the business. But i have partners at work in the practices and you know and a really all there are partners and but they really feel like it's a they also work as associates. No in other words paid like an associate but then there's a partner share and what we try to do. Is we try to do everything for them. So they can have that same life to as when they had when they were associate so they don't have to worry about hiring fire marketing. Now are they allowed to have their say in any sure is might be involved as much as they want but most of them kinda just wanna be laid back. Let us do all that. So we do have partners in that. But originally started with dr wilson and he's retired now and he's in texas he's still still a silent partner which is good for him. Good for me. There is opportunity for our associates to iran. And it's great because we know that that associates going to stay but also it's a it's financially good for them too. Yeah that's good. you mentioned. It's good for it's good for your partner and it's good for you. Do you ever feel like or. Has there ever been bob a moment. Where maybe it didn't work out with specific partnership or something like that and you're like she just saw that coming dentistry. I have other businesses. And yes that's happened before in email and her's always one of those things where I wasn't comfortable with other person and that can happen but in dentistry. I've been really lucky. It's about giving tank. You know my philosophy as a partner is always to go overboard at you more than i should that way all my partners have for example by partner and and texas look. I do all vote know. Run the business. He likes collecting checks. You know so this could bring him good but he's so out of it if he would come here he wouldn't know where we're at at the level but we're and you know it's he's been retired for allie over ten years now And and so any no spying now.

"So why don't why don't we get. Things started with the mexican national team playing against on buddha's on a friendly match up in front of seventy thousand fans erc just fyi. That's the largest grout for soccer match since the start of the pandemic scorn as draw on. You see the numbers right there. That's that that is the third willis gave in a row for the may be no. It's not looking good herk. So is it time to hit the panic button with the marino. Listen you know way better than all of us here with the mexican press is like you've lived. You are part of the mexican press this orbit this atmosphere that you always feel you know what it's gonna be like. It's panic button today. But don't panic if you're an elderly fan. There's no need to panic. I understand three games. Winless three goals. Four i'm sorry. Two for three goals against yes and we could say that. Costa rica united states. What is mexico and on dudas on. Paper are the four most difficult teams in this confederation in concha calf. Here's the worrying part that rotation those three rate their opponents we saw three goals against two goals for the us play against the same and they went winless. They had eight goals for two goals against picked up a trope in the process of absolutely fine with the younger team. So if you're a fan is a time to panic. No because at the end of this tunnel is i won't he meant is at the end of the tunnel may be what is the health of food is accepted. Accepted of the team will get better and right now on paper. You've got the most prime players the players in their prime and they're better moments in the consideration so no time to panic as of yet. Okay here here's why. I would at least start looking at the panic button piano. This was the first time in a long long time that he had the majority of his stars players available and it's not only the results. The lack of results is the bad performances. And i know against us. Ms national team. Mexico didn't play poorly bought. If you play game against a team. That's trying to find their personality. The rhythm still lose a game. It has to be worrisome. So okay i'm with you. I'm not ready to hit the panic button. But at least i got no. Where is that panic. Button sitting right now because he feels that gold cup. And i know both the us national team and mexico. They won't have their star players or or their idea roster but hey you know the the mexican media is will you put in mexico for many many years if things start going south if data martina is unable to deliver the trophy to mexico. You know people are going to start asking questions. Is this going to compromise his position. Maybe not but you don't want that kind of noise for the world cup qualifiers. Do you agree with me. That one hundred percent. Listen to win the gold cup. No time to press the panic button. But you know the mexican federation the handed over the button. They've been known for these impulse. Decisions victim to teach came in for chapel hill to fourteen in that failed campaign by cipolla tory. He was there a week. They pulled the plug and went to rada to get them over the hump to that two thousand fourteen world cup so they are known for making those rash decisions. I like you think mexico and have their eighteen if you will. Because they've made. What is the olympics. A priority and the us is going to let the european stars go off into their preseason. So it's going to be a majority. Mls gold cup squad if that's the context and mexico doesn't have a good outing against this. Us national team panic button time. Yeah i have one more thing on this topic and it actually plays on data martinez favor. There is no other manager head coach in mexican soccer right now. That can go like okay. If that does not that one. I am the one. There's no other candidate right now. So usually there's added pressure when there's another name in the lineup or at least waiting for his name to be called up so right now. There's no there's a ferret. The there was all like in other times cipolla authority only or even victim managua right now. There's no other coach that finish go on thing if things go south for me then. This guy comes up. There's no name right now for that kind of conversation. Lastly have one last question for you on the mexican national team performance. Is there anything in particular at that concerns. You the uc something specific. That makes you go. This is bad and that the martinez should really put attention on this. Besides the evident fact that they can't score goals that since ministers injury. They can't put the ball in the back of the net. Besides that i think for the first time in its history because that out of the no we haven't noticed but his team is very suspect in defending dead-balls especially it's teen that gives up lots of dangerous plays on. We saw weston mckennie in that cock-up nations league final time after time. Happy his way with whoever was there whether they went up one was a mic zone. Trying to put a pick and prevalent try put somebody to disrupt movement. He won every single time. What.

Now that was a splendid dog portray if the dog world say nancy. Congratulations for being from there. yes so nancy back kicked out of thank you so much into all the others that have introduced show this week. We really appreciate it and yeah. That's why we able to do this every single day of the finals. And we've got a few more to go. Today was a funny all day. We kind of previewed. It didn't we last night as much as the afternoon. Look like a much meaning to it. There was just not meaning. Those they were dead rubbers after all posted doubles and the singles and then the evening section. We always knew is going to be a knife edge type scenario you win. You guys drew you lose. You got home like a normal tournament. Let's start there showy because rough on the dow has beaten stefan pass in three sets. It wasn't like last year's when i didn't feel i thought it was. I mean i thought the dow played really. Well i've role. But i mean obviously there's no crime but last year they played a three center in and it was just epic. Wasn't it every every point felt like a a saga this. This didn't feel that that to me what to you. Know i felt like steph sits pass could have been prepared to die out there tonight and it still wouldn't have been enough He he cannot get close to the dull serve. I know there's the anomaly of the fact that he is beaten in one song clay Madrid in one thousand nine hundred. But let's just take that out of the equation and it's possible it's possible that sits has a bit of an adult problem And one that he's not getting any closer to solving think it's more than possible. I think he has a nidal problem. And i think he's a pretty big one. It's okay to have nato problem. Nidal is really really good. You know most of the world has had an adult problem for fifteen years. But he's not getting closer. It would sing and sits up past. Thinks he's got into dow problem doesn't am and he he's i it is he having seen his press conference. We'll talk about that in a minute. I think he will be going an obsessing for the next six weeks. Ah bat how to solve his dow problem matt's you you watched it what what jumped out at you from their match or yeah if i if you've got an adult problem. You've got a bit of a men's tennis problem haven't really because nadal is always going to be. There is a constant if you can't overcome the dull you're going to struggle to win the biggest tournaments i would. I would suggest certainly at the moment for the next year or two wall dolls exactly around anyway So yes short turn. That is going to be interesting to see whether sit to pass can overcome it. I think actually on one of those ones on clay. I think he's got so much more time to return the serve and he can step back and take some swings. Maybe that actually does help him against the door. But i completely agree with what you said. Catherine he just didn't didn't get near serve really for the whole match other than a fifteen minute spell which was weird and bizarre and suddenly he broke nidal twice twice in a row three times in a row. Maybe it was a very strange portion of the match. But i guess my main takeaway was kind of comparing to team the dull because that was the match we saw most recently and it felt like team has sustained threat against nadal whereas sits pass to me felt like he was relying on little moments and flashes of when his game was on and hoping that that would be enough to get him through. I didn't i didn't see a complete game plan really from him. And i think feeds into this wider thing of him being a bit confused about how to play a dollar and therefore it just always felt to me like the dole would win that match and in the end he won that third-set pretty pretty comfortably after after a shaky start

Zebra Coloration Messes With Fly Eyes

"Everyone loves zebras. No doubt it's a natty stripes but recent research into why. The stripes exist indicates that the markings maybe something of a mixed blessing for the zebras. The them new research adds to evidence against old ideas somehow stripes cool them down or confuse predators such as lions confusing. Lions will be nice for them but the good news is that a group of researches have additional evidence in support of a hypothesis. They proposed in two thousand fourteen. Stripes seem to confuse biting flies causing them to overfly or crash into the zebras. The study is in the journal. Proceedings of the royal society be various. Avatar: The Last Airbender Creators Depart Netflix's Live-Action Series

"Okay, let's start off with A bit of news that I'm sure comes to some disappointment our own ht. What is going on with Avatar the last air bender they were GonNa make a live action TV series for net flicks. What is the update? The latest update is a real bummer for avatars last Air Bender Fans Michael Dante Di Martino and Brian Connie ebsco who created the original acclaimed nickelodeon. Animated Series have parted ways with net flicks over the creative direction of live action remake series. De Martino Post announced in a post on the website titled An Open Letter to Avatar last air bender fans saying that they couldn't control the creative direction of the series and decided to just exit the project altogether and he he had some pretty not I wouldn't say harsh but not. Veiled for in terms of thinly-veiled In like knots unhappiness with Netflix production So he said at one point The project, which is still ongoing has the potential to be good. But what can be certain about is that whatever version ends up on screen, it will not be what Brian and I had envisioned or to make. So this is a massive bummer for Avatar. The last Air Bend Fans because De Martino. Goes involvement in the first place was kind of the reason that There was somewhat cautious excitement for this because these the creators at donors in executive producers for the new Netflix series and they promised or shared rather that they would be deliberate. Choice to a cast as. A people of Color and ethnically accurate to the depictions in leverage animated series and the. The memory of the last live action attempt. Ed Bender is still strong in fans mines, and we don't want a repeat of that. So now that contracts go rhino are gone, there's a lot of fear that the the. Disaster will be. Repeated. Yeah, we shouldn't insinuate that this disagreement it's probably over like the the the racist of casting or anything could be like story or character that we don't even know what the disagreements are over. This is a little surprising to me though because my conversations with filmmakers on and off the record has been that like Netflix's is pretty hands off with stuff. So I'm actually very surprised that big Conflict here I'm curious as a as a fan of Avatar the last air bender now that the creators are known no longer involved in this, would you still be excited to watch live action series not at all? My cautious excitement from before. Has now turned to a sort of read. which not to say that there can you know the situation can't come out the better I'm sure that there are some great. Writers and creators out there who could have an affection for Avatar last bender could. Steer this in the right direction, but it just feels like. Martino and Connie lasko are such a major part of Avatar less air bender and its success in why such great perfect animated show that they're not being involved in stepping way in a in this situation where it seems that they clash with the Netflix's executives in some way can't really know what? I sure what it just doesn't dumb. Bode well for the production at large.

"Thank you so much for doing. This is an absolute treat to have you come and yeah in very strange circumstances obviously for everybody in the world not just the tennis world. You're joining us from California. I believe how how things over there. How has lockdown? How you coping the situation and the lack of tennis in La Lives. Well I would say over all I'm really proud of my three teenagers at a time. When teenagers want to distance themselves from their parents. They've accepted what has to be done. I feel like California in the mayor of Los Angeles I live. We live in Los Angeles. So we've had some leadership both at the state level and and at the city level that has been really strong very consistent and I think that's one of the reasons why Are Part of the United States is actually done much better than expected in pleased that the generation who the order to stay at home. It's really counterintuitive to what they want but There's been a lot of acceptance in I can tell you as a homeowner sixteen years ago bought up property with a private tennis court. Tennis court is one of the reasons why a couple of us in the family have kept better sanity. How much you missing professional tennis right now? Well you know I missed Indian. Wells would have been an easy drive. I missed that one. The most I will tell you because of the business of my home life regardless of a pandemic or even if I'm just driving my three kids around and The the level of detail that I would follow the tour from week to week is not as detailed as it would be like when I worked for ESPN at Melbourne and maybe look the weeks leading up to Melbourne. I knew what was going on in the lead up tournament so for me personally. I haven't missed it that much but we haven't yet gone past one of the tournaments. I think would impact us the most which would be say for for me. Roland. Garros Wimbledon. I mean I thought the tennis will did a great job of I mean it was tough call for Indian Wells. I remember that Sunday night when it was called It took everybody by little bit by surprise but it just started the domino effect of what this virus in the effects on the world sports It just started a series of closures around the world yet studying to look like a very pristine cooled by by that tournament. Looking at your Your social media. You look like you've taken the opportunity during lockdown to have the most neatly and cleanly arranged trophy show in all of Iraq in Pam. Yeah one of my first during lockdown one of the first things I was thinking. Well little things can I post What content would be interesting and I thought all right well. My mantle pretentious fans would be interesting to see The the major championship doubles trophies. Most support try one with Martina. There was a US Open with a net. Pashas vary of there was some Fed Cup stuff. There was recognition of our Grand Slam doubles year as well as the year. I got the finals of US. Open in singles at Sixteen. So I thought it was kind of a fun tour and I guess most of the stuff I posted that one had the most views in. I think it just shows you how much people want to see one way or another or or touch any way major tennis. He absolutely in all of these things that that you just mentioned there. I I really want to talk about. I in first and foremost your your partnership with Martina Navratilova. Seventy four doubles titles together including Twenty Grand Slams. You're you're still the most successful women's doubles partnership of all time. What what made you such a great partnership the too well. I think there are a lot of things I think when you look at how we played our singles The style of play with serve volley back in the eighties. That was kind of. That's how you play doubles back then too so it was really Our our singles games translated into being great doubles players. Naturally the lefty righty combination. If you look in tennis history whether it's nukem Roach whether it's the Brian twins whether it's McEnroe Fleming There's a lot of great Lefty righty doubles teams. I just think you know the choice of who serves the sun's tougher righty. There's just a lot of things that are beneficial to having a lefty righty Our personalities you don't have a partnership that long if your personalities don't gel well We enjoyed each other Our senses of humor clicked in. There are a lot of those matches through the years where we would play after. Martina was the featured match at night So we played and we had to wait late night tennis So if you didn't enjoy each other and our coaches got along. Well obviously we had teams. That were much smaller back then. My team was generally just one Martino. It's one of the first that brought in teams of more than one But our team's got along well and so it just led to who knew that January eighty-one with lead to what it ended up leading to it was I think ultimately nineteen eighty that Martina. Kool G to US could be your your partner partner. What do you remember about that? Phone call was at Deer Creek Country Club in Deerfield Beach Florida having a late practice and I'm a member. Lee Jackson longtime referee for the tour and She came out and You know years and years before anyone has self owner yet said Martinez on the phone and I mean whoever is practicing with the it was the practice was abandoned Iran in got it got on the phone. And W T tour office and You know she asked me. She doesn't mix her words. She didn't learn a lot of pleasantries. Just asked me if I had that commitment to doubles partner for the next year and I said no I did not. I had just the. Us Open just a month prior. I'd gotten into the finals with Betty Stove in Betty Stove his last tournament. And we lost Billie Jean King and Martinez. I think it was six six or five and five and I think that was probably the last indicator. Martina needed that. She she she was looking for. A younger partner was starting. Her career could play for a period of time and so it was obvious it. I didn't even have to break commitment. Thank God because if I'd had a commitment to somebody I mean that would have been a tough a tough one to pass on playing doubles with Martina. So I'm glad it worked out that I didn't have a commitment to a partner confessed to a tip off from for Mary Carillo but she has suggested that that I ask you about asking Martina to sign a cocktail Napkin to seal to seal team together forever. Yeah well we had already been together a long time because we we. We went through a stage at think Springtime of eighty four. We lost in the tournament of Champions in Orlando. We didn't lose again for over two years so I think it was. One hundred nine straight matches When we hit a one hundred wins and it was in Eastbourne so the tournament director George. Tendon threw a party for us that night. And we were celebrating To to the history of tennis no one can remember doubles team ever hitting one hundred wins in a row so A I decided to take that moment. I wrote a contract on a on a peeper. Napping it says I'M MARTINA NAVRATILOVA. Promise always to play doubles with Pam. Shriver and I had a witness line. The George Hendon was signed in as I stood up to give the toast and give the contract Martinez in my head ended up in a lamp shade so it was kind of like it was funny and it was. I have that I have. I still have that cocktail napkins somewhere. But it's back in Baltimore. My hometown Collecting dust but will not be thrown out. One hundred nine matches is is truly extraordinary April nine hundred ninety three to July one thousand nine hundred five did you did you feel. Invincible is a team. Well a lot of those matches we went into the matches knowing we were going to win them. But there was a handful that were incredibly dicey and I remember one in particular that was Right in the middle while it was about win number seventy five and it was in Madison Square Garden against our longtime rival. They were generally the number two team behind us. For many of those years Souckova Elena Sakaba Claudia. Coda kill and we came down to a tiebreak in the final set and I remember it was five. All it was late in the tie-break whenever I was returning and Martina just said return it low and I'm going to go and I'm like yes ma'am you know like you WanNa. That was great. It was like a plan now. Of course then you still have to execute but I remember as soon as I hit the return like that's going to be a low. It was a good return. Sheet timed or poach perfectly. Put It away and then we won the next point on serve so that was the hairiest moments that was when we came within two points of losing. But other than that. I don't remember match where we were like. Matchpoints down we. We won a lot of those matches during that streak in

How to Get Unshakeable Love and Unleashed Passion For More Than Just One Night with Stacey Martino

"Stacy. Paul say what's it's up to fire nation and share something interesting about yourself that most people don't know. Hey Okay so something interesting about something interesting so I think one of the things that people don't realize about us as we grow up on the East Coast but we recently decided to move to Boise Idaho and a Typically when we've told people as we were doing that the first thing they say is why why would you do that. Yeah and really. It's about living a life by design. We had been coming out here for a couple of years. For Russel Brunson's inner circle that were part of and started falling more and more allowed with the location and as we were looking for a house decided to move out here and I think the peace at most people don't know is that house were living in. which we I totally love is a house that none? None of us had ever seen before except Paul. He came out here on his own cows and we moved across the entire country sight unseen to move of our family to this side of the world. And we're so happy to be here but we moved here without even knowing what neighborhood it was in where we were going at. It's been quite an adventure. Really it really is the most amazing place. The greatest people is just beautiful. It's such an amazing place to be. It's a it's an under known amazing place to live and we're really the quality of life while I've always heard great things and have been out there a couple of times myself specifically just for some really kind of smaller Russell Brunson master my season throwing so I haven't got to spend a ton of time. Boise itself but it's always been like. Oh this is a cool place. Cool vibe cool energy and I totally get like you guys doing that kind of move move because you know this is the world we live in now. Fire nation is when you are financially independent when you are location independent you can make decisions and choices like this. And I can't tell you how how many people have come to visit me down here in Puerto. Rico Oh my God it's so beautiful. Down here is to Caribbean. The weather's unbelievable year round announced. You know obviously what you're going to deal with things like earthquakes and hurricanes but you know no place is perfect and then they're like wait a second you only pay a flat four four percent tax rate. Meaning you get to keep all of the money that you make. That's kind of the homerun because I'll tell you what when you start keeping the money you make things change so it's Kinda cool I actually. There's been a bunch of people. Russell Brunson inner circle. That have moved down here like my neighbors Jamie Amos. And he's an amazing dude and just a lot of great people bull doing great things so I love hearing you guys. Moving to Boise other people move to Puerto Rico. You know when I moved out to San Diego back in two thousand thirteen. There's a lot of people doing that because there's just such a beautiful location etc but then factor in the taxes and all that stuff. Give me the heck out of here. But that's for another episode. We are talking about how unshakeable love and unleashed passion for more than just one single night. Fire nation. I've already told you in T G with all the greatest we're talking about. I'm talking to stacy and Paul. They are absolutely creme de la Creme. Would it comes to stuff like this. So let's just break this down my friends give us your story break that down for us so so honestly we never started out wanting to do this or planning to be released interbank spurts of any kind are calling kind of found us as so many people in our life journey attempts to happen that way. It's hard to believe but it was twenty years ago twenty years. I know twenty years ago I remember like it was yesterday. Paul drove up the driveway. One night coming home and as soon as he got out of the car I could tell something was wrong. You ever have that moment. Jd where you look at someone's face you're like oh man what happened totally and in some instant. Somehow I knew like oh no. It's me there's something he's there's something about me and he said four words to me that I actually think are some of the most painful words in the human language he said. Hey we need to talk and so we sat down and he proceeded to tell me how no matter what he had done no matter what he tried. It wasn't working and as much as he cared about me. He didn't see any way for our relationship to work out and that he was leaving and as I was sitting there on the couch listening to him. Talk Tell me all the things that were wrong in our relationship. I couldn't disagree with any of them. It's not like I hadn't heard those things before so that didn't surprise me but what really shook me to my core. What surprised me was my reaction action because unlike the woman that I am today back then my nickname was actually the ice princess and it was super well-deserved so when the tears started rolling down my cheeks I was very unnerved and shocked to have that response and in a moment of what felt felt like a break down? I actually broke open and started to feel this flood of tears which allowed me to feel for the very the first time that I loved my husband and I know it's terrible to say but until that moment I knew I love being with him. I knew I you know I loved him. I didn't really know what that meaning of that. Man until that moment where I got to feel the depths of my love for Paul and as I was Tears turned into sobs and and I looked up at him. I realized wow. I didn't even know that humans really could feel love like this. I never had and I now realize I'm in love with Paul and he's walking out. I'm never going to get a chance to live in that love because I've ruined did because I don't know anything about relationship and I've ruin this just like every other relationship in my life and in that moment of desperation I figured I don't have any relationship skills was like that's how I got into that situation. I didn't know what else to do. And so I- begged my husband for a second chance and I said to him like Babe everything you're saying thing is one hundred percent. Sure I can't disagree with any of that crap. I don't know how to do this and I just have this feeling that this is not the best of me. This is not the best. Sti- CAN DO. I don't know what I'm doing. Just give me a chance to jump in with both feet and figure this out and then if you don't love the real me I'll will release you with love but just give me one more chance. Don't don't leave now out because I felt like I had just had an awakening and I just wanted a second chance and I know Paul had his own experience in that moment in Paul actually before you jump in here because I really WanNa make the most of the time that we have together and we have so much awesome Mr cover that we can only spend and so much time on your story and of course fire nation. I'm going to direct you to where you can learn more about both stacy and Paul and their entire story but Paul. Why don't you really in a concise way? Give give us your perspective on this and the move forward into this relationship you program because I mean just the results have been staggering. I mean the average. Divorce rate's fifty to seventy percent and you guys have had a one percent divorce rate in the ninety nine percent success rate over the past six years. So we're GONNA get to that and then some other really important things about relationships fire nation as as soon as Paul wraps up this part of the story yes so what happened was over that next year we short cutting the story of course of enough for me to stay but over that next year. I'm like Kowcase Ugo fix yourself like you. You work on this obvious in my mind thinking. There's nothing wrong with me as wrong as I was. But that's what we were back then and over a period of year. What seemed like a good week turned into a into a couple of months and I suddenly woke up one day and I found myself saying like I'm the grace relationship? I don't know what happened. She had transformed armed into like the most authentic version of herself. And I could feel it. I became a better person. I didn't I wasn't doing anything and we realized through that year. What happened was her? Transformation had had an not only transformed our relationship but transformed me as well to into a better version of me and that began the journey. Where we're like? What like this is amazing? I'm inspired and I said I feel like in the Anderson next. You like whatever you're doing I'm all in like I WANNA learn. I don't want to just be standing on the sidelines. I see you are amazing. You're happy I don't know what you did here but I want to be part of it. So that began our journey. You're too big transplant. List really about the discovery that accidentally that I discovered it only takes one person to transform a relationship. I was forced into discovering that now we've created our entire relationship development methodology in our eight step system dumb and all the tools in our toolbox and we have literally proven over and over and over again. The reason why we have such a huge success rate is because it only takes one Alan person to transform any relationship. We only work with one person when we do this work. And they're getting tremendous results because they're not limited by needing their partner to get on board or needing their partner to agree to do this work that combined with our methodology which is the complete opposite of what everything else is out out. There has really transformed this landscape and is enabled us to get this one percent divorce rate in our relationship. You program over the last six years which is really crazy just

Mets "Fully Intent" On Trading Syndergaard

"Rival evaluators say they believe the mets are fully intent on dealing Noah syndergaard before the trade deadline quote. It's beyond listening said one. They want to move him so keep that in mind okay so noah syndergaard expected to move from the mets then maybe half an hour ago any Martino who covers the mets in New York for S. N. Y.. Says add the dodgers to the teams who have expressed interest in Noah syndergaard per sources. They have the players to get it done if they want. Now what's weird about that is syndergaard is a starting pitcher. He's cost controlled as for the next two seasons. You really don't need them this year but where he makes sense is next yes so here's the deal they've got kershaw obviously locked up for three more years. buehler's pre arbitration can't Amita they've got locked up but review is on a seventeen point nine million dollar qualifying offer he might win the Cy Young Award and he is going to be worth a lot on the open market. Richhill is thirty nine in a free agent very possible. They don't bring him back so it does make sense <hes> that they would lock up or trade for a guy who is locked up for multiple years and Noah syndergaard. They're looking at him. He's not had a great year but they're are probably looking at him and saying he's got great stuff. He's got electric stuff. He still has his fastball. He can be fixed. I like it if it doesn't prevent the dodgers for going after you to retain them over money. If money prevents them from retaining continue engine review the way he's been pitching this year that would bother me. Here's a here's the problem and he's on a one year deal which means he's an unrestricted free agent. I get it. I know how much again but you're not gonNA give him four years. He's GonNa give I'm four years. Maybe more than that somebody gave somebody gave Zach Cranky six and drank. He wasn't even coming off the CY. Young reused GONNA be coming off the site yet the dodgers that's the point he's coming off a CY young season. You're GonNa let money get in the way of giving you thirty. I always do two years old like I'm not being. I'm not paying a long gee. I know I'm GonNa let term get in the way somebody's GonNa give him four years and if I'm Andrew Friedman I'm not giving them for years. This is what held up cranky cranky. They said they would go five not six fix the diamondbacks went six and they let him walk would be very uncharacteristic for Andrew Friedman to give our guy four years. I mean okay and do it by and again. He's already thirty three years old and had some serious shoulder issue. I get that but he also has been their best pitcher this year. We've all seen throughout history that when he's healthy he's as talented as anybody. They have in the roster. Go ahead Greg. It was Kinda like when the Yank- when the Yankees signed signed to rookie Kuroda away from the dodgers he was pitching really well and he pitched really well for the Yankees afterwards too but it just was to a long time he was older. It just wasn't yeah they're playing and the other part of it is this you gotta pay an Andrew Friedman. I know because the one time I had him on the radio show he talked about it like you pay for future performance past performance and you have to kind of evaluate that when a guy is going to be thirty three to start the season next it's just me more just the idea of I feel like if you're the dodgers considering who you are as a franchise what your market value is the television situation that prevents a lot of your fans from actually seeing this team.

"With the caveat that foreign exchange. Trading can involve significant risk of loss a word as we get going here about the dollar euro trade day, should you be planning a trip over there. The macro economic gods are smiling on you a euro can be had at the moment for just a dollar twelve cheapest. The single currency has been since two thousand seventeen what gives Kawhi I hear you ask. Well, first of all, thanks for asking. But the European Central Bank is what gives the did a completely unexpected about face. This morning promising not to raise interest rates at least through the end of this year and saying it is going to make more loans to European banks. Marketplace's Nancy Marshall genzer explains. What's going on the European Central Bank said today that the economy's at the euro zone. Nineteen countries that use the euro will grow by just around one percent this year, partly due to the trade. Tensions between the US and China. Mark austral is chief economist at ADM investor services. He says if the Chinese economy slows further as the trade talks with the US drag on that's bad news because Europe exports so much to China. Everything from calls down to simple consumer goods as well. As exporting a loss of machinery to China says China will buy less from Europe, if it's a Konomi seizes up President Trump's threat to slap a tariff up to twenty five percent on cars from Europe is also weighing on the euro zone economy. And then there are zombie loans. Loans euro-zone bags made to failing companies that are still on their books. Danielle de Martino booth is a former Dallas fed adviser because they haven't been written off. You're not freeing up the ability the bandwidth in order to make fresh loans that therefore spur fresh economic growth. The European Central Bank is trying to change. Change that by making cheap long-term loans to banks.
