"That's a good example. It's a good example. The hero does something really which is really similar in seth is talking about. And what in martin. Robin morgan in that book is like. This appeal of the individual goes off by themselves from you. Know we're we're daniel. Boone was out and he was gone too long. His mom didn't know where he was and turns out. He was fine all by himself here. Healed this barron was sitting by a fire and look boys here. Some meat for you It is just like we look at jesus in luke chapter to wait. Where did you go. Oh he was fun. You know but the interesting thing culturally is like a hebrew reader and here of that story and luke would not look at it and say..

"The doctors early. He's always hurt. He played forty three games this year. Fifty seven last year was out the entire season the year before. Play forty eight games a year before. So that's why that's why shows up to the games in an ambulance right. I mean it's crazy like so now. Let me say this. I do think porzingas is game does match lucas because zingers is a very good shooter. He can catch. Shoot are and that's what you wanna ran a luca he also can rebound can block some shots. So i think he's a good fit be healthy and accepting because he's already been running his mouth but he don't like playing with luca so he got to understand he's not a guy with the ball in his hands a lot. You just be ready to catch it and not down to three when luca pass it to you. And they're rebounded defend on the other side. I'm with today i just. I'm not convinced that this is going to work. And you know the other problem is. He's just frustrated there. Chris says the other party can't stay healthy. So you know when you're not there it's hard to build like a chemistry and feel good about the other guy so he's been basically missing in action for a lot of it and lucas has the ball and controls most of it. I don't think it works for him. Win go go ahead. I was just gonna say real quick wild youtube were recalling your high school memories it while your high school championships and so on and so forth you are talking to the west bloomfield two thousand seven and two thousand eight winter fest king. "Confined Mohr sports that access Wdun, right? Can't appreciate the update. We're seven minutes in front of eight o'clock, speaking of an update, We need to get an update now on how things are going. An open enrollment. Yes, it is that time and the insurance source is the places we check in with. Robin Templeton. Martin Robin. Welcome aboard. Give one of Mr Bill how you doing? I'm great, Good to have you as a neighbor because you always bring such good news and a positive attitude, and I'll tell you this is the time folks or finding out that they can actually save some money on. I know that that gets their attention. It makes everybody smile. And that's one of the first comments. I always get attention with David. Even if it's a penny penny tension was growing. I like seven people money. It's a good thing for them to come. Sit. I'm going to go over their policies. Medicare supplement plans if you've had them for years. Those were standardised. Those are identical with every company. It's just the price in the company name that you're buying back in. Shop it out for us has been here for five years. We'll take a look at it. I think I remember that it was almost $800 a year in savings while getting a new Medicare supplement land that is amazing. Yeah, and that just points of the thing When was sometimes when we do these things? We think it's a one time decision. It is not because there are things that change in our life, things that change in our health and our financial situation, and it's always a good idea to go back and just double check to see there's a better way. It is a in the year and I felt that I must. Everybody asked to. You're different than I am. You know, this year's over the next year. What we need to look at as we injure against what could happen. What has happened. If you have had a Medicare advantage in. Maybe you want to check out a Medicare supplement Things to keep in mind as long as you could answer those questions in underwriting because they're underwriting on the Medicare supplement plan. After you've hit 65, So save 65 a half, But you're gonna have underwriting, so we've got to answer those questions, so cancer or heart attack stroke. So you're big kicker's interested in that when you look at it now, listen, let's do it because of enrollment ends Win. The number seven end of open enrollment for Medicare advantage plans on Medicare supplement plans I could hear those year round but for Medicare advantage in part VII. These numbers, and that's all we're ever have one of them when you to get it done and bringing in. That's why we're under a month now, so, folks, if you've been thinking about it that stopped thinking and get in touch with the insurance source and let them do the thinking of the figure, and they're going to come out with something you're really going to like, and folks want to get in touch with, you know, that's what you're here for. So let's get him in your direction so you can help some folks. Yes, sir. Give us a call 775321900. You could tell that I actually should get uniforms set up becomes only I come out. You rat on me too. Hey, can I just come by the office? 42 20 to make every road in Oakland, Georgia. There you go helping out. That's what they're doing with the insurance source. They're called that for a good reason. Robert, I'm gonna turn you loose. Let's you get out there and have a great day. Keep the umbrella handy that you're gonna need it. Yes, I appreciate it. Thank you so much for a 7 56 for four minutes away from eight o'clock because we continue in North Georgia's news talk W D win, And as we do so quick check of this year. We just talked a moment ago with Carmen. Our winter there for are a smokehouse, Turkey from Smokehouse Barbecue and Oakland. I asked her about her her favorite side dish. What do you have to have, along with the turkey? Turkey, always the star of the table and Thanksgiving. But what do you have to have is supporting cast and supporting members there of the team? Well, a new study took a look at Google trends. Information. Isn't that where we find out everything these days? We Google it. And they found out that the most popular Thanksgiving dish in every state they determine which one it is. But as Faras one overall for the United States and all the votes men cast in this case, and there are no electoral college votes to worry about, but number one The number one in the most states, and it took 10 states mashed potatoes, the most popular side now being from the south. I am like Carmen, my potatoes. I like mashed potatoes, but might have to be sweet taters, not love. The sweet tater. So awful sweet table souffle is good, but I'll take a big one. For that matter. The candy, yams and commission like that as well. That was that would be my number one but number two on the list, winning eight states of the 50. Came in is stuffing or dressing and I guess for most folks, it's dressing, especially in the south. For me, it was always stuffing because that's what mom always made. It went in the bird and I no, don't get out of me about all the health concerns. We never died from it. If anything, we just got really chunky after eating a lot of it. 7 50.

"Yeah exactly this feels like so I mean are you. I feel unsettled. You know you don't know what's going on. Are you doing any other activities? Any books you've been reading. That have been helping you. Get your mind off things. Yeah I mean I've been actually. I've been reading a lot. I just read two novels by Sally. Rooney with friends and Normal people which is a series on. Hulu now watching that. I mean it's weird even watching it. It's it's for millennials and I'm in my sixties like dating album. Well that's the thing is I think is that people are people are people so you can. You can get into anything by anyone and I just read a really interesting book. It interesting to me. I Love Reading. Show-business spoke so. I just read one called Elvis in Vegas which was all about when Elvis started performing in Vegas. It has the background of Las Vegas in the sixties and business of that time. And that's fascinating to me and I just. I just read a memoir by a friend of Mine Allen's bell we wrote for Saturday night live and Co created. It's Garry shandling show and done a million things. That book is called Laugh Lines. I recommend that book to anyone interested in comedy or comedy writing. Because it's it's a whole you know Deep dive into that profession. Yeah and this is a great time to really hone your craft. Just take some time to polish rough edges and that's a great suggestion so Back to New York. I I mean I'm from Philadelphia originally. I didn't move here until twenty. Sixteen I have perfect timing right your your whole life. We know that after nine eleven New York definitely changed. How do you feel like New York in feel like another change is coming Are you nervous about it? I know as an older millennial the when I hear the word recession. I'm just like Oh here we go again. Let's let's do it economy wise. I mean I try not to even think about it because it's so scary about how tough everything is going to be is already for everyone and how tough it's going to be for wild out for everyone. I think New York will come back because it always does and it's been through. A million crisis is already just nine eleven but in the seventies the city went bankrupt in there was the famous Daily News headline about President. Ford Ford to city drop dead. When he wouldn't help help help us. Get Out of the hallway. It's you know New York always comes roaring back so that'll happen but I don't think you can predict how it will and and in what form it's GonNa take you don't know like which of your favorite restaurants and nightclubs and theaters now. Which one of those will still be open in a year from now? It'll probably be a lot of changes made but that's like I said you can't really predict that now but I think things will be different though. I also feel like comedy. I mean depending on what were you. Lean right or left like comedy was taking you know action towards what's happening in our government and what's social causes. But now I feel like after being cooped up for four months people are going to need some other angle approach to comedy. I think they're going to try to feel better. Is there anything that you know as someone that loves comedy? You know. You're looking forward to I mean? Can we make Karenna virus funny or I think people already you know? There's already a lot of really good stuff on twitter. People are doing a lot of funny videos. That people are making. I mean cutters as long as there's talented comedy people out the hair. There's GonNa be good comedy but I think you make an interesting point about people are maybe they're going to be just looking for Light kind of pure fawn and not. Maybe not as topical. You know that actually happened in the seventies comedy in that you know we have been through the sixties the Vietnam War and and Watergate and people were just so overwhelmed by all that. And then in the mid seventies late seventies what became really popular in comedy was was Steve. Martin Robin Williams people who were just Who did enact that was just heure silliness. It had no. It had no topicality to it. There was nothing political about it. Just put her through his head. Yes it was. It was brilliant and it was hilarious and people were just ready for it and he became so huge she was playing arenas and I think that That something like that might happen again. Where people just embrace stuff beyond certainty this just fun. That can just make them laugh and maiming. They might especially after which will hopefully be for you know only four years of trump. I hope I think about. I think people will be ready to move on and enjoy something. That's just funny and have fun again. You end mentioning Steve Martin. His autobiography is also polk. Radio For anyone that's starting up. Ios says about this stadium shows that they got so big he was just like he wished she could do the small rallies again you. He didn't make a big fan for about it but in the last few years he finally got returned to doing stand up. He toured with Martin. Short now does a lot of music in his act and also this comedy and Yeah he's he's great his great end We're talking about the smaller venues the comedy clubs I know. Ucb has closed in. There are probably other theaters that are hanging on by. I mean I keep wondering are we going to have to adapt with our performances? Going to be moved outside. Are we going to start? I don't know it's it's once. Once people are going out to sea shows again. There will be comedy clubs and there might be new in different venues and some of our beloved venues. I hope not some of those might close but we just have to wait and see. I don't think that that that comedy clubs are GonNa go away though. Yeah definitely I mean. It's just the chance to adapt in. Nc What's what else is going to happen in the future. Is there any other stuff that you're watching anything that you're reading any advice you want to give to people who might be In a studio by themselves in New York right now yeah I mean I think the only advice I can give because I think I've learned something from depression that I've been in the past and I know that people are a lot of people very depressed right now and it's a very stressful time. It's a lot of anxiety and I. I can only just express a cliche but I think there's a lot of truth to it is just take it one day at a time. Just live each day. Don't worry about the future. The future doesn't exist. It hasn't happened yet. You don't know what it's going to be so just say. What do I need to get through this day? Do I have enough to get through this day? Do I have enough to eat? Do I have shelter if I have that? I'm fine. I'm good and then the next day. Wake up and then deal with that day and just do it you know. Don't don't let yourself be overwhelmed by everything. It's very overwhelming situation that we're in and we all have to take it easy and and just do it in realistic terms and just just get through each day and and hopefully everything will end up taking care of itself and don't feel guilty about whatever you need to do to get through this. If you need to watch some stupid reality show for twelve hours and go ahead and fucking bench. It you know head and escape escape into whatever world you you need to escape and it's good to become engaged with the issues and to become active about things that are going on and other people who need help. That's all important to but if you just need to take care of yourself and say I'm I need zone out you know. I need to watch really stupid movies. You hours selfish. Watch some great movies for few hours. Yeah I WANNA I wanna not think about any of this and let my mind relaxed for while by all means do it and don't feel bad about it. Yeah absolutely because we're all collectively going through something and when tomorrow gets here it'll get here and we'll figure it out that is great advice Well can you tell everybody where they can find you online? Of course you will have all the links in the show notes for this episode as well. Well I met At Frank with just my name you can find me on twitter and facebook and I think on at F- Con F on Instagram. I have a bunch of books that I've written.

Just totally out of it that grout. Unbelievable amazing. If you think back to beginning of the season when Lou Lamoriello is bringing in all these free agents design, they'll Phil blah. Leo calmer off Matt Martin, Robin. Leonard is like everybody was laughing at it. Like, oh, your son always fourth and third line guys. And all the crap. And here they are three and against the arguably the greatest player of his time. Phil kessel and Chris Tang and all these against I mean, come on. Yeah. They have totally taken those guys out of their game to Crosby against just been invisible. The entire series. And I look at this roster for the islanders. Eighty five percent of the roster is basically Garth snows roster. Yes. That's why you got to get rid of Liu and bring Garth. Don't forget about that. But what Lou Lou broadened trots? Installed or instill whatever discipline that is required. And they're all planning for each other there. They got each other's back there playing solid defense or hitting other team. And by the way. The couple of these other series are getting pretty downright nasty guys going after each other high sticks guys getting suspended. I mean this Boston Toronto series is out of control really is this what it's worth the every dollar that you pay to go to one of these games. I can only handle one hockey series at a time. Really? I'll leave the rest of it up in the NBA man that Portland and okay see game yesterday. I think it was a war you boy, and his canter was all over the place. What are we hear from is he played.

"The first is when I've been to Jiro with them, which is the famous sushi, we've reviewed the movie Jiro dreams of sushi. The way each row is with people when he's with them in a private setting is incredible very one on one. I contact he talks to them. He's charming with them when there's hordes of people, it's more difficult, and he's less comfortable, but one on one with people, I I've never seen someone take the time that he takes regardless of the age 'cause he's got fans for four and fans were ninety years old the second is that he knows a lot more English and Spanish than you think we walk into the first time meeting with him in Japan, and I was with Mike hill. And we know that each row speaks some English. But we were not sure exactly how much Mike kill an I walk in. And each looks at him looks at me. And he says, hey, my brothers from enough. Other mother in perfect English. And that's before we had done anything together. And that's when we knew he was a pretty cool guy. What is the movie you're reviewing for us this week? A tough one it's called beautiful boy. And I wanna talk about it's about addiction. It's about a true story about Nick chefs and his son David who are a father son who dealing with addiction. The son is addicted to to mess, and it's not breaking bad because this is real life. And Steve corral may be and I'm gonna throw this out there and stand you may get upset, but he may be the greatest serious actor who started off as simply a comic that we've seen Robin Williams better than Robin own. I knew it. I knew it you have you have Steve Martin, Robin Williams, you have even will Ferrell in stranger than fiction, but I'm talking about from start to finish eve corral has so far to go. When you first saw him in Bruce almighty and right now what he's doing in this movie beautiful. Boy, it's staggering. It's a great movie, but it's dark. It's sad. It's very difficult to watch because you realize that, but but for absolute bad luck, you die from a diction and meth is nothing to joke about and the father had to give the tough love the worst thing in the movie in it's not a spoiler. We all know how it works with addiction. Eventually the father has to tell the sun. I'm not giving you any more money. I'm not letting you in my house, you're gonna have to live on the street..

Sure. Like, I knew about the comedy scene before way before I got down there be from the chronic. Yeah. I'm seeing things that you get for explaining it. Yeah. But that was how. I got that was the beginning of that obsession. And then I still never thought that I would do it because they just I don't know why just. Believe like if people would say, it wasn't funny. I would believe him, you know. And even though I kinda thought I was zanuck sense. And then it was later after high school. There's not you're born hams like me, right? And then there are are naturally. Funny thinking people who gravitate towards people like Steve Martin, Robin Williams, right? And you develop your own sense of humor by collecting there's right, right? And then finding your own voice is a struggle for anyone. But also if you come up the way you talked about as a kid as I assume you talk about in the monk then. Yeah. There are many moments where you think I can't do this. Right. And I I was never the class clown. But I said stuff later that they would repeat and I noticed that like, and there were things that I did especially like. There's one thing in the book where and a lot of my humor comes from a dark place. And I learned that in early eight. My dad died when I was little and like one of the first jokes. My mom remembers me making is basically gallows humor. It was like this guide kinda screwed her over when she was single, and and took some of our money that we had had left from my dad dying, and you know, this Griffin dude and his name's miles. I'm four years old. And my mom's telling her friends at this diner, and I'm like coloring or something and miles comes up, and I say to everybody miles is miles away by now and ladies like lose their shit like what a weird little kid. Yes. And then so my mom was always like was we'd continue to bring that up as I got older was like as I would say dry or. Our cast things my mom would get you. Always did that he did that when you're four. So that was kind of like, I knew it was like a superpower. But wasn't able to actually densify it as that. You know what I mean? Yes.
