"This is crazy and with former republicans were still republicans. Don't think this is the way things should be ought to be rewarded. That's a good example to set the host. For example in in the bush white house the host of yeah right deadline white house. You know that those are good things. And so you're probably right to an outlet like politico it is harmful for someone of jennifer rubin stature right to call out crummy biden coverage and and as you point out i i mean i can. We dismiss the fact that she's also woman they think that seem to have a thing with women of course being self determining. Yeah yeah yeah you kind of pick your own path. And another point is is a small point about people converted. You know the never trumpers. And i think it's important that you know there are some voices who turned on trump net. One by came into office they kind of went right back to be tomato mainstream republican. Hey we need deficits biden does not doing you know people. Like ruben have have remained true to this new calling. You know and she has been emphatic in her critique of the republican party which even without trumpet in the white house she sees a radical dangerous. Insurrection is anti-democratic movement. So you know. I think she does deserve credit. In i worked in media matters for ten years ten years ago i was criticizing her work on a daily basis. I thought it was misguided. I mean she wrote a column called the right turn for the washington. Both so your point is a good one you know. I think she has added credibility not only because of the washington post but because she used to be on the other side team and so she brings a certain insight but she has been relentless on the beltway. Press this love of both sides journalism this love of dens in disarray And and she has been She is been relentless in calling it out. And i think you know some folks that political decided you know what the it's time for a brushback pitch into let her know that the cool kids don't earn okay with this you know. We're we're we. As i mentioned in my piece you know has been mentioned. Many times beltway media kind of functions on the level of a high school cafeteria. Cool kids formed their cliques. "It's it's easy to kind of do this tough guy posturing as much harder to actually try to match a musician from a different country and their vocalism and the way they speak in the way the tones and rhythms. And you know that's that's real musicality that's real art. That's real worker. Whatever you wanna call it and you know those are the moments where you shines out. I think the most. I agree in which may be you know. Cut the album by third in it and it would be cool. I was still disappointed that there wasn't more of that on the record. You know we got six or seven of these like sure just distracts of avenues to air out your grievances. With so-and-so where we could have had six or seven tracks drake doing his. You know more life thing of going around the world in experiencing all these different cultures in filtering it through the lens for a better freeze and i think that would have been so much more interesting especially now in this in the world that we live in where kids are obsessed with uk culture in the us. You know there's a whole guy. There's a whole drill scene in ghana. There's there's so much going on that. I would love to see drink tap into the drake. That has a real pure music. Fan like a sixties pirate radio. Dj type music fan. Like that's what i would have wanted to see from drake over a bunch of songs talking about. I'm the best way to little cultural appropriation on this album. Drake's winning more into his role as culture of our but seriously you know he's a lot of great music converted so he's good at it. Yeah so yeah. He doesn't screw people over. At least as far as i can tell you know he puts people on and they end up either running with it or not. Jeffey has thanks so much for joining me. "Life is so precious and all given to you by the great lord above fucking hypocrisy and i want democrats to call out the hypocrisy on a day to day basis and frankly i want these parents right that are concerned about the well of the wellbeing of their kids to sue the fucking school district because if i were a parent at kinder elementary school i would absolutely be suing the school district. Because how are you not sending emails or text messages or making phone calls to let people know exactly what is happening right. Why are they finding out. Why are these parents finding out through the grapevine like a game of telephone with other parents to spine out whether or not. They're safe and mind you. These kids are coming. Home some of these kids live in intergenerational homes right so what does that mean about the safety of the adults in those homes it is. We are at an infuriating place when it comes to cove in nineteen. Because what i fear and what i continue to say what our friend dr. Jonathan metal tells us. Right here in times square you know. Yesterday i found myself going to bed and feeling extraordinarily exhausted and i thought that it was kind of initially vacation hangover right like when you come back from vacation. It's kind of really difficult to get back into the swing of things you feel a little sluggish but now that was not the case. Yesterday i found myself laying in my bed at around eight pm. I wasn't necessarily tired like i wanted to go to sleep. I was just done. I was done with the day i was done with america. I was done with watching the news. I was done with being on twitter and hearing about everything that was wrong and my body was aching and exhausted and just spent. And what i find about that is folks what is happening. Right now is going to begin to manifest itself physically spiritually and emotionally. You may find yourself for no reason bursting into tears or just wanting to take a nap. And what i want to encourage you at the beginning of this show is listen to your body. Listen to yourself because your body is telling you what it is that it needs and right now what. We all need in ways. That i would never have anticipated is rest because i believe that. What republicans and the radical rights and these white evangelical christians which are just under this whole big banner of authoritarian and fascist. What they are trying to do is wear us down. Would they are working to do. Is where us out and make us feel like we have no options that there is nothing that we can do that we feel helpless in that all we want to do is check out now. What i'm offering here is not just saying to check out and never check back in but these moments of angst of anxiety of stress of grief require rest so that we can restore ourselves. We can recharge so that we can lift our heads out of the sand and continue to march forward because the journey that we are on is a long one. It's actually a marathon. We are in a marathon where the baton has been handed over generation after generation after generation. And now it's our turn at the beginning of this year. I found myself really troubled with the fact that it hit.

New york new york please drink responsibly. Good morning and welcome to work daily with me. Your girl danielle moody recording. Live from the brooklyn bunker today. You know i wanted do the moment to talk about labor day and the fact that we as a nation just celebrated or honoured are recognized this holiday and the fact that it's supposed to what have us put is on and give respect to workers right. All of us are workers. If you are employed you are a worker that helps this country in this economy. Move and i think that what is often lost on all of us. And what is shifting right now in a lot of industries and in a lot of spaces is the power that workers have now. When this country was moving through its industrial age we needed to create unions and hr and different types of protections for workers because without these protections without government intervention without agencies that would look after the safety in the well-being for workers. You have what is pretty much going on with amazon around the country. You have people unable to take bathroom breaks. There's right now. A piece of legislation that is going through the california legislature to ensure that production numbers remain reasonable at the behemoths like amazon. So that workers who are on the line putting together your packages our packages that we so desperately need can take a bathroom break. It's crazy to me to think that in the twenty first century after we have gone through so many different points of work revolution and expansion in this country that in so many ways we are going back to the beginning whether it is with fucking abortion whether it's with voter suppression but it seems like america's civil rights and liberties and workers rights and liberties and women's rights and liberties are somehow boom haranguing back pre industrial times right where we are needing to make explicitly clear the protections that workers are guaranteed the protections that women are guaranteed and we have a very tepid government right now..

New york new york please drink responsibly. Folks i am so excited to welcome to okay f daily for the very first time lauren. Fair who is managing partner at arena. Which is a organization that is working to train a pipeline of democrats in order to be able to run for office to run campaigns to do all of the things that we need them to do. In order to battle against republicans. You know i feel like republicans do a much better job of building a pipeline and let me be clear. Their candidates are crap. So it's it's amazing to me that they have such an incredible infrastructure that they're folks can rely on churning out candidates after candidates talk to us about arena. And why you think that it was important to get to this place. Why is it important for us to have this kind of organization in infrastructure. We have a few. What is it that makes this one different. Well daniel thank you so much for having me here today to talk about these really important issues. So arenas and organization whose mission is to convene train and support the next generation of democratic candidates and campaign staff and we were born out of the two thousand sixteen election but also out of a realization of precisely what you're pointing out which is that. Republicans for decades have invested in infrastructure in thirty infrastructure in organizing infrastructure infrastructure. That is enduring. Year-over-year cycle over cycle Democrats simply have not on our side in some ways. We focused on candidates on wanting really charismatic. People for office. Unbe candidate don't win elections on their own. They require released. Strong robust well-trained teams around them and teams who represent the diversity of the country and the communities that they are running to represent and so arena exists really to try to fill that gap on the democratic side. And we do it through four different ways. We do it. By running a training programs unliked program called arena academy which trains individuals how to be campaign staff how to run campaigns everything from being a campaign manager doing data digital communications fundraising. We have a career team that works to place everyone. We've trained on a campaign or working with the democratic or progressive organization. And then make sure that those people stay in the business cycle over cycle year-over-year. We've got a suite of free. Downloadable tools are arena toolbox so that candidates and campaign staff can have the knowledge that for so long was held by an exclusive handful of people beyond a mostly white men who'd worked in politics for some time and then on top of all of that infrastructure building work we also support candidates financially and by providing them with staff and the kind of candidates that arena supports. Are those who are bringing new fresh voices to the party. New perspectives who are really running on premise of generational change and making our party in our politics more reflective the country. As a whole i love all of the all of the different parts that arena brings to the table and i will wanna talk for a minute. You know particularly about campaign staff and why that's important. I think for two too long. We rely on passion right to get people interested in wanting to work on campaigns. It's usually younger folks right. That have the passion. Have the energy you know or going to live on the road up pre kobe. That was. That was the case in terms of campaigning. How do you get people interested. How do you draw people in to say we need you because when folks think about you know i get asked the question all the time. Danielle what can i do right like. We're losing. What can i do and i tell them volunteer. I say donate you. It depends on your capacity so for those people that say. What can i do and they wanna do more than just volunteer. They wanna do more than just write a check. How do you connect those folks to these campaigns yet. What what you're saying is is so right because like i said before campaigns don't just run themselves at and i know this firsthand. I was a candidate for congress in twenty eighteen and i entered that race with with a ton of passion a ton of desire to serve my community but no understanding of the mechanics of running a campaign in really relied on the team that i was able to build around me. But it was hard to recruit that staff and it was doubly hard to recruit a staff that i wanted to be diverse. And i wanted to be gender-balanced that i wanted to have bypass representation that i wanted to have lgbtq representation because the the simple fact is it's been really hard to break into to politics. You mentioned that you've encourage people to volunteer. And i think i've heard problem. Is that you know. Political engagement working in politics has been thought of as a volunteer job to in that. By definition that makes it a job for those individuals who can afford to work for free. Yup at arena. We're trying to aband- that because we say politics actually needs to be a professional career and it needs to be accessible to everyone that the democratic party is trying to serve which means it needs recruit more people of color we need to recruit more working class individuals. We need to make up politics A career in which you can earn a living wage to to draw the kind of talent that you you want to bring to the table in order to win and so what. I would encourage anyone. Who's motivated who wants to be really substantive you think about going to an arena academies spending five days and learning what it really takes to to run a campaign we make. A point of making sure that scholarships are available to. Everyone needs them. So you're going to not be paying adine if you can't afford to pay that tuition for training and we worked very hard.

Let's just say this things are not going well in afghanistan. They have not been going well for the last several weeks. Since the biden and harrison ministration announced that they would be withdrawing all troops from the region after twenty two years of being involved in a civil war and in a conflict where we thought that the united states was building a democratic infrastructure to help the people of afghanistan. Well we were receiving reports that there was going to be considerable attacks happening outside of the capital of kabul at the airport where there were warnings that went out not just from the united states but from the uk as well to their citizens in the region to move away from the airports because they were very concerned that the security threats that they were receiving were going to actually come to fruition well lo and behold sadly they have with reports of multiple military folks being killed because that is where they were stationed outside of the airport and then also there were apparently suicide bomber attacks. That happened at a nearby hotel as well folks when you see. The pitcher is coming out of s. ghanistan heartbreak doesn't begin to really convey. What is transpiring in this region of the world and you know. There are several military folks throughout the years that i've had on various shows that i have hosted and to follow them now on social media and his just see how exasperated they are by the fact that they lost friends right people lost lives. They lost limbs in order to secure this country and at the end of the day the united states really did not have a plan for entry and they sure as fuck did not have a solid plan for exit. And you know. I said this earlier in the week that congresswoman barbara lee was the only the singular person member of congress to vote against going to afghanistan. Because she said why. Are we going to a place where we have no clear path out and don't really know what we are going there for and i find when i talk and i'm not a foreign affairs expert and i make that very very clear but i am a person that has enough information and research and talked to enough people to have a clear eyed opinion of the way in which the united states goes around the world and big foot's in other countries creating these terror vacuums when they decide to withdraw. And that's exactly what is happening in afghanistan. We're in conversation with the taliban for fuck sake right. And assuming that we're taking a terrorist organization on their word about what they are going to do once..

"So what does body language tell us. What what is it. We can decipher or not decipher. What specifically does it do. Well in my job is interrogator. I use it and attack. Full sense where i will. I'll ask questions. I know the answers to. And i'll see how that person reacts to those questions that i know they know the answers to and then i'll have questions that i know. They don't know the answers to questions. All about places i would make up even as i'm talking to them and we're getting ready to get started. I spent ten or fifteen minutes just talking to them and you get what's called a baseline when they're not nervous not being put on the spot and you see that you remember all the things how they acted when you ask them questions that you know they knew the answer to and they answered correctly and the ones you knew they didn't know the answer to and you you keep that in mind as a baseline for the way they behaved. Then when you get to the point where you're talking about what they're supposedly what they've supposedly done what they're suspected of doing as you speak with them then you can see how their body language changes. They may do things to to guard themselves. They may bring their their arms in closer to their chest for example. And that's what your brain does what it feels threatened. It'll it starts guard near your lungs and your heart and your stomach or they may be using. Water called adapters. At adapters things. These little repetitive movements people make that get rid of that built up stress tension or energy from the questioning is. They're trying as their thinking. Is there as they begin to worry about. Something stress builds for example. They may start Shaking their foot on the jiggling there on the ground or they may start rubbing their arm or their hands or they may just a little bit star biting the side of their mouth. Those are the things that you see those. These repetitive pacifying behaviors. Those that you know that person is under stress. It doesn't mean they're lying. It doesn't mean they're telling the truth it just means there's an issue there. There are no absolutes in body language just because someone scratches there knows. It doesn't mean they're they're lying and it doesn't mean they're telling the truth and most of the time their noses i've i've trained federal judges who thought if you look up into the lapd you're not telling the truth and we all know from studies now. New york new york please drink responsibly. Good morning peeps and welcome. Okay f daily with meet your girl. Danielle moody recording live from the brooklyn. Bunker folks this has been one of the most obscene news cycles. I have seen in quite some time. And i will say this. Why is it obscene. Will one you know. I have been getting some pushback on social media after the announcement of new york governor cuomo resigning in two weeks he no longer be governor of new york. He had finally succumbed to the pressure. Placed on him by the democrats In new york and across the board. I knew once biden had weighed in on the issue that he was going to their for resign. And here's my issue with this. And i said this on social media and people are like oh my god like clearly your four a sexual harassment and assault of women. No the fuck. I am not but what i did say is this democrats always resign. Always we go after our own harder than we do our opponents we had a rapist as president of the united states and another one on the supreme court. Nothing ever happens to republicans. Nothing and the pushback. That i'm getting is a lot where folks are just you know well. We have higher standards than we have morals. I don't think that people fucking get the fact that you cannot have a democracy that is supposed to have a strong two party system and only have one party that goes after their own and each their young as opposed to turning on the hoses right on the republican fucking party and am. I saying that cuomo should not have resigned absolutely not but i'm saying where the fuck is the energy for matt gaetz. Where's the energy. For the trump investigation and indictments rolling down on him on clark on bar on sessions right like where the fuck is that energy you know. And it's just. It's infuriating to me that we will go after people within our own party with fury an energy that we do not give people who frankly tried to have their fucking colleagues killed in the septa in the january insurrection..

"She read delayed demographics of our own state. I'm not sure. I think she's got this idea about that. She's kind of the sequel to john. Mccain's maverick identification challenging her party. But i think she's miscalculated. Terribly for polling has gone down since she gave the thumbs down on fifteen In such a flamboyant waste and she's been talking publicly about blocking any change on the filibuster she doesn't understand that the voters elected her. Like you say the change. We want results. Now it's much more important to us that we have that that we preserve these traditional senate rules and procedures like the filibuster itself. Jim crow relics. So i'm from west. End the problem with mansion but she is not just him does she know markelle just one. How could she and hit him doing much better in the polls as idea that you have to be you have to try to govern like her in order to win an arizona. He's proven that wrong right now. We're gonna reelect him. He needs to do better things but he voted the right way on fifteen and he signalled openness to reform on the filibuster continues to block progress. So can we. Can we go. Are we gonna draft. Erica to run for senate in arizona while i wish we could. She's not a citizen yet but it takes a couple of years after marriage but it can move faster if we pass the dream act. So we'll see okay. Okay okay okay more. Mvp after this message remmy martin joins with international music star. usher in team up for excellence.
