"A very, very fierce little dog by the name of GDP Murad Kurt ours here. Good afternoon. And he brought a puppy. So. Thank you for that. We have Nancy Owen Lewis, and we have Meredith white, sir from the advanced research. All right. So mirada introduced who you brought along with you. I brought little g as a bijon poodle mix and I this is already adopted dog. But I wanted you to see this dog because this people would say as a store bought dog, and it wasn't an actual rescue dog from our shelter, and it shows that you can find any kind of dogs at the Santa Fe animal shelter, any kind of breed. So come rescue an animal or eightieth year has. What was that? GD's a rescue. Yeah. Yeah. He is like happy as she's smiling, Susie Senator name. She looked at me. Like oh, yeah. Yeah. She's a happy, little animals knowing they get rescued and g g is one of those. And they're so think she's so cute. Yes. Hound from hell though, she'd probably, you know. In disguise. Jeez. Actually my neighbor's dog. And let me try let me say she has a dog. Sometimes. Last time you were here. Animal shelters last time you were here. You brought in a little dog who I mean, it was I don't hopefully she got adopt. She was losing all our tease. Yes. Was yes. I remember I can't think of the name, but she had her tongue hanging out and everything. Adopt. It was elderly, and, and Joe cujo. Yeah. Hey, dig it adopted so, yeah, we have so many animals. We are the hometown shelter and the great thing. This year is we are celebrating eighty years of saving lives, eight decades and Richard if I break that down to you. It's twenty nine thousand days of working with animals that are neglected that are homeless. They're helpless than eat food. They need play. And the Santa Fe animal shelter came around eight decades ago and we've been saving these animals ever since and it's wasn't for the white sisters that Meredith will talk about with the correlation between essay are, and the Santa Fe animal shelter. We wouldn't be we wouldn't exist because of them. Now, Nancy Owen Lewis is here as well. You are a resident caller at SA are. Yes, I'm officially a scholar in residence. I was the former director of scholar programs. A lot of the history of this a our school for Vance research Garcia street behind a wall. Nobody knows is there. Well, you should know. It's there go take a tour. Yes. All right. So who are the white sisters where they have in relation between essay are an animal shelter, Elizabeth, and Martha white moved to Santa Fe in the nineteen twenties from, from New York City, and they built this incredible estate called L delirium or the madness. And they went to the west minster dog show and they fell in love with the Irish wolf hummed and decided if they ever lived in a big enough place to raise them, they would do that. And in nineteen thirty they bought their first breeding pair, they built a state of the art kennel where the dogs had individual rooms and rooms with vigas. It was very Santa Fe. A few years later, Elizabeth started re raising Askins, but then Martha died in nineteen thirty seven of cancer, Elizabeth was very, very upset when into a prolonged grieving and the help cope with her grief. She decided to donate the first animal shelter to Santa Fe in honor of her beloved sister, and this was the one off Janos street, a very small facility, so we share a common benefactress. So that is near the Milagro middle school or the library on Yana now. No. It's further towards Cerilles wrote. Okay. All right. Okay. So she donated a facility that became an animal shelter. Yes, she funded it, and then later started a memorial art gallery and was going to use the sale from that to provide continued funding. But what happened is World War, Two broke out. It'll be the Pearl Harbor was bombed and she decided to use the money for the war effort and became involved in the war dog program, which I will be talking about on Saturday. All right. So let's get to them. So they started the sisters. The white sister started. Essay are. They didn't start say are. Or they didn't start essay. Or they, they founded the that their stay called L delirious. That's correct. Yes. Which later became is that the same property that is now. Yes. When list with white died in nineteen seventy two she left the school to essay are. So that's what I mean. We have a common beneficiaries. Yeah. Absolutely. All right. So. The war the war dogs would GT qualify. No. She is. Is too small. To you. No, no, no. This is a good thing. Jesus showed up during war. The war would end it right? Then. All right. The dogs of war the hounds of were. Yes. All right. So what is the hounds of L delirium the you will be speaking out? I'll be talking both about the white sisters Dodds that they raise the Irish wolf hounds and the Afghans, and then I will be talking about dogs for defense, which Elizabeth white ran for New Mexico during World War, Two, where are you going to be speaking? I'm going to be speaking at SAP are in the administration building at two o'clock on Saturday, Saturday. Do people need to RSVP or by ticket or show up Meredith? Just go ahead and grabbing it won't make any noises. Yeah, go ahead and grab so, so. Now she's adopted apparently g g. Now with the dog, and I immediately. Petting her this'll time so on Saturday from one pm to four pm to help celebrate these eighty years of saving lives the eightieth anniversary of the Santa Fe animal shelter. They came to and said, we love the story of the shared benefactor. And how can we how can we celebrate that together? And celebrate the continued legacy of these two organizations, and their impact regionally and, and, you know, within the community and so we decided to have an open house because like you said, we're sort of behind a Dobie wall and not as many people as should know about the school for advanced researcher, where it is. The wall. And they just keep going. Yeah. So this is our opportunity to welcome the community in and to really invite people to explore the almost eight acres of of, of developed land. So we have gardens and buildings and you can actually during our open house. Clay tennis court, you can actually during the event which will be on Saturday from one to four pm you'll be able to do a canine related tour of the campus. So we have, we'll have those kennels that Nancy was talking about the well, I'm not sure you'll be able to get into the actual Viga spaces, but the kennel space itself, you will, they'll be that. But there's also the sisters buried, there will be an Afghans and a couple of the neighbors pets in a dog cemetery on the campus. So that's kind of fun dog related stop fun is the right word, but it but it's really interesting. I mean it's very. Sweet we maintain the cemetery with the little placards with everybody's name. Is it going to cost money to come to the school for advanced research, one to four pm? We have free parking, we'll do be be doing parking at the P. E R A lot with a shuttle going so from day Peralta from the capital. Pick you up, or just going back and forth and back and forth. We're not going to have camp- campus parking proper. But if you want to drop a dog off, or you want to drop your grandma, you can drop your grandma off on campus and then go catch the shuttle, and park, your car. Probably two and a half minutes. Yeah. Even if you wanted to walk you can walk. That's a it's a decent walk. There's just no opposite. Get some coffee. The open houses completely free from one to four. The mobile adoption team will be there, rod Kentucky, a little bit more about that. They'll be some other events. But Nancy's talk is really to benefit the organization. So it is there's a twenty dollar charge and you do need to register in advance. If remember the members get the wonderful opportunity of knowing that, they're supporting our organization, but this event, because it's not. Take time out. We'll come back with Schweitzer.

"And here's a question that came in earlier. In Jefferson wanted to call about Dr. Bolt are the Portland. General Electric company is behind hit hide in the market. And there used to be taco recession or correction. It seems like a pretty good by they've been dropped a little bit this week with Martha white drops not like people are going to stop paying for like when they're into correction. You know, they all pay dividends roughly fifteen like a good one. I do like utilities. I think the pretty good defensive. I don't think I would buy this one. This is Portland General Electric, civil Pilar engage in the generation, purchase transmission distribution and sell electric. So why do I like this? Or what's what's wrong with this one? Well, I'm looking at a chart, and this is the major high about forty seven forty eight in the last year it's been at that level August and into September October. It's so it's already at the high end. And now we're starting to see a little weakness only plays a three point three percent dividend. Now, I say only that's still high, but there's other utilities pay higher and other utilities have better fundamental numbers. This is kind of on the expensive side. They're p is around eighteen or so and utilities don't make a lot of money. They don't grow very fast, and this one is growing very low single digits one to three percent. So it's not it's not inexpensive than the retrial on. This is only nine nine percent. That's low. So I'm thinking this is not the best of the utility better utilities out there. And I will point you another utilities. I think you should look at utility says a good because there's some out there that really give you some really good dividends we own several, but we don't own this one and all the ones we own pay a higher dividend. So. Eight eight eight ninety nine symbols PR p r. Ninety four to seven eight. Here's an investor term, you should know no load funds talked about mutual funds in a while and talked about what load niche load means commission. There are no load funds, no commission funds out there, and you should always buy those over any kind of loaded fun. Okay. Now, what is what what kind of loads are there? There's different kinds. They try to hide it from you. There's a fun in load, which is the most honest, and they called the we call those A-Shares industries, those are air, H-shares mutual funds. A-shares loaded mutual funds. It's usually five percent up front. They take that right off the top. Then use the rest of money to buy the fund that you're you're want. Then there's back in the loaded. Most commonly known one is be shares. This pays one percent commission per year. For five years. By the way, that doesn't equate to five percent. Do does not basically with your portfolio's growing. They're taking one percent of a higher amount of you. If a tricky, and it's less. Usually the upfront A-Shares are better than the shirts.
