"Welcome to this Krypton reports special edition. This is Brian. Our commentator joins US lot for reviews and randomness is so excited that he thinks he's cracked that theory to three jokers number one and two. So this is spoiler. He's in a break it down and go into his whole theory for you. We didn't have time to record a with all of us. He was so excited he recorded himself. So here it is for you to enjoy. Hey everybody this is Brian Peters Your Manchester Steal. Your guest. On the Krypton report occasionally. Doing my. Lou Review of. Batman? Three jokers. I'll start with book one answer, some my theories, outs, and thoughts. And then go to today's both to with my. Think pretty solid. Explanation of who some of these jokers are. So here. So. My. Looking at the first page here. Bamiyan three jokers. There's just to cover the first issue. chason fabric. Amazing ORT. Just how he gets the flow, the jokers hair Seeing this crowbar bloodied. So looking right off the bat makes me think that Okay, we're going to get. A little story about. The joker that. Kill Jason. Because this is a Batman. Bat Girl in Red Hood Story. Right off the bat. I figure. That each joker is going to. Coincide with each character one joker. Effects each character personally. So. This must be adjacent story. Brad Anderson. Amazing colorization to Jason's are here and it just gives me so excited to read it. Like what the Heck's Can Be up to. So. What's Begin So. Three jokers issue on starts with. His kind is beal like a maniac seems to be bleeding pretty bad. we get nice close out. Of. Wayne Manor here. And the quote says, Time heals all wounds if they don't kill you first. So makes me think, okay, this is a ballots. How these guys are wounded. So we just close to the caves and trophies the back girl suit. Jason's Robin suit and Batmans will suit. Sarah off the bat. I, know that this is. Their. Story. So. Not to take too much time I really enjoy. The How the bat suit looks lay down. Just looks pretty sweet. Jason just does amazing work. And looks like Alfred's Bruce here. I asked him what was this time? And it looks like the Penguin stabbed him. And we see this heavily scarred backup Bruce Just holy crap like I. don't even know how this guy can make excuses when he has date. But You know. We see how Bain has caused the scar the ridler cat women scarecrow crock. But then we get to. The scores of the joker caused. And there seems to be quite several. We have some gunshot wounds, some acid chefs. cuts from. Cards. And we get this pretty sweet close up a bruce just pissed off. Remembering, how he lost his parents? Remembering Joe Chill. And then. We hear on the news. That the last members of the mocks crime family were executed at a restaurant downtown. I winced the joker continues war chaos against organized crime. The joker began we first appeared in Gotham decades ago. And now, they believe that the mock's and family gained notoriety when they recused orchestrating the murders of Thomas Martha Wayne But they were exonerated after pay Joe Chill confessed to acting alone. So. There was a theory that Joe did not act alone. And this part of a crime heads but Joe confessed we hit on that a little bit later. nobody knows who jokers shrew nameless. And then we get this number one, the criminal. That we see a close up of A. Girl. ruining a treadmill here. And a comedian was murdered. signifying. That the comedian joker which we see number two comedian. One one that affected back. Then we see Jason Todd. Good old redhead beating the crap house joker thugs. Try and get some Info and we see the scar of Jason. A being bashed in the head with a crowbar. and. We also saw earlier back girl scar being shooting chess by the comedian joker. So. Right here, we see that the clown was the one that. BEAT UP JASON FOR LEASE WE. Are told. Batman goes investigates the. Ace chemical murder of the. Three guys. and. Backers shows up. And we see that truck has been stolen. How the chemical mixture to make jokers. And this guy is still alive. and. Red, hood can steal the violence here. And transgene confessional guy. and. The truck pulls up in the woods here. Clearly jokers driving it. And he shows up a cabinet in the woods. And Knox. And who answers the door but another joker. The comedian. So the driving it was the clown there signifying once and for all that there are indeed more than one joker here. So they just go right at it. Then we see in the cabin. That's there is an order joker it seems. That seems to be more focus more kind of leader of the group. And he says her plan right from the get-go. We do what we always do. We try to make a better joker. Then we see them are kind of hunter joker down to the Gotham, Aquarium And we see some joker fish in a aquarium that. and. We see a big giant joker shark. Now once you guys think about this So. This mirrors precisely the jokers three-way revenge, which was Batman Fifty two. I believe. So. After the comics code kinda ruined,.

"Ben Aldridge sat down on our roundtable and he plays Thomas Wayne. So how did he prepare to play the father? Of Bruce so all I looked at. Because obviously not much about him in the comic books or the films to owner, the film depictions of him, which is basically the murder scene. As I swim die looks of times. Then I was like Oh, and then picked up in the comic book, the elements of him, being moral and upstanding in philanthropic. Invoked in charities. So that drew upon that, but mostly in when I met Reno in. The executive produces they start speaking about curry, grown and Hollywood film stars, and they wanted him to feel like someone from those Toki so I started watching those films basically. Doing research on those days, actors and watching is really fun. to go back and. Watch. I'd Never Seen Casablanca, which is amazing and a bunch of those incredible film so. Yeah that was that was kind of the work that was my jumping off point for in basically and the other thing that I learned from looking it all the depictions of him as the always has a moustache so. I was like it was like the mustache was my choice. which some people are trying to make me feel like I should have regretted, but. I was into it now. I actually listened so. There's definitely a difference in this Thomas Swing. Yes, well, I think that's the interesting about playing. Jack Ni-. Our, we know where the cats is GONNA end up. And so I know that he ends up as this very like I said very more moderate guy. It's the journey there and I think in Pennyworth can see the beginning of those principles that he's kind of straight laced. Superintendent wit March April comforted oversee is billionaire, but he's thrust into situations where he has to kind of like makes. Morally compromising choices out because unlike any other comic books he works medicine. In Our world he's up in a kind of more covert. Espionage Underground. Intelligence. I. Think he's more. It doesn't always sit easy with him twelve. He's of. He's not a man of violence. That's definitely. In the comic books, and and all of it has to employ other people to do that via work for him. He's. He's kind of not not okay with it, and that's why Bruno's as. As an amazing job was in Pennyworth is the the heroes and villains are lack of white. We're not quite sure. WHO's the billionaire quite sure who's a hero? You wouldn't necessarily watch in think Thomas Way is the good guy. And what you think that Sykes is the villain kind of made them very humid and relate to. Dark Psychological Johnny. Says, it's a real cowardice, but about Martha Wayne. How before she is Martha? Yes, she's. She's a huge part of the series in the pilot. British becomes US privacy. And yet. He kind of looks at that meeting to the initial sparks of. That chemistry, but it's They are repelled by. Attracted to each other of us and the principal was allying, so they actually irritate the hell. Put. Through through that line of work that thrust together as a team. which doesn't work very well? I think that's beginning to think that we both. Act is playing the two sides of the DNA cactus eventually become. Batmans Brune has been really good at kind of like involving BITs Batman in our personalities as well so there's some unexpected things that happened Thomas throughout the series where. He gets very very dark him. You kind of see that breeding dot exists in Bruce Wayne's. That was kind of cool. All this is a this is a flash. Saddam. The World Pennyworth is a DC universe world. Yeah. Maybe that's my favorite part of the show I think he's the Whoa they've creates seriously this nine hundred sixty s swinging. hunky glamorous Rockstar by, but then, but then at time, and he's Kinda, familiar and homely historical, but then this whole. Which is like twisted? Recording with branding at thirteen degrees. So it looks like historic. London but then unpredictable has completely elements were different political system for justice system. But just like you'll be filming in Chicago Square, and and we'll have a group of nuns, wearing leather, the cross through the back of the screen or something like. That we'd unexplained is very life off Kilter, not mean that's my favorite part of being in the show. Set Design or the director. Mug Scrutiny. Discrepancies, by Mavis incredibly sex and develop very strong visual well. I think he's like. What are the strongest things about the peace? Did the clothes. Defy him before you. Yeah I. Think so. It's nice to have some good taste at seats, yeah! Once you do is with some. The costume and There is. Done jobs. So yeah. He enjoyed the collaboration on this series. And it's very like it's very collaborative with with Brunei and he details it very specifically on the page and. For this both mine and Emma Patsy Place Martha. Character descriptions. There very detailed. Go! Out Line of who they are, and then, and then you can collaborate with him. He's very present on sets it. He'll give you the typical information. They didn't think of that, but you'll. You'll really discovering the cats is episodes episode, which is really fun, so we this is weird episodes website. We don't get ten from. Will be halfway through the website and we'll get the next episode, and so it's. Exciting. Things are kind of like really and be like. Oh! Discovering who they are as you go, and that's the way we always humid. We. Know ourselves surprise ourselves so I think. Big Isn't always knowing a character inside. Ask The great thing about series. TV's get to discover the character. Plays along, so that's. What's it like to be part of the Batman Universe? Is Pretty. Cool it initially always like intimidating. Because obviously. Arrive in. You realize it's such. A Super Fan base, and a bunch of people are ready for judging like. Estimates but I think it's just to ignore. People are gonNA. Love it, and also because we're doing free. The cannon pre the world existing. We can kind of like inventor. So, just exciting grading is being. It's been cool to say. Playing Wayne. And people allow walk down and said the so cool. All right, thank you very much. On. What you can do, is you go to epics and you can probably watched the entire first season. As you get ready for season two. That's what I'm GONNA. Do I only saw parts of it what I saw? I liked a lot..

"There are only three choices good bad or ugly a good film of something you would recommend you came into the theater excited to talk about bad film was not really something that jazz do right away ugly avoid at all costs Matt as the guest you have already said but what is your official rating for joker yeah. What if I just threw out an ugly would be unable gas? Let you the whole time now for me. This is a good this is this. This is the kind of superhero movie that I feel like really interests me and I get the conversations is about this and I understand some of the backlash but like I think that if you look at this movie in a vacuum as a lot of people will l. do and when they go out to see this won't have the context of what has been said about the film from the directorates himself himself or any of the stupid trolls or the dock sings any of that stuff just if you look this movie in a vacuum and you analyze the the performances the practical details the production design that the score the cinematography the direction and then also for me the story I think that this all adds up to something quite sublime and as joker hits that final act it really to me found it stride and I was just in it and I I loved it was able to become in the end and so I get why some people maybe have some ethical quandary laundries with this or that but just as a as a piece of filmmaking I really I really enjoyed it. Okay I agree with you on the technical aspect of of of this film Joaquin Does give an incredible performance physical and just a motive performance absolutely not I cannot deny we don't really talk much about Z. Beats I'm in this because again. She was one of those layers that we get a couple peelings of the onion into and the nothing I I liked the Zazi beats like everything she she is great. I liked and I cannot go into like a wrinkle in that in that kind of storyline and then it just gets dropped one one thing that's important to remember. Is that like this is all through the Lens of only one character Arthur flat everyone there's there's basically no supporting character that adds any real meet outside of like their connection and their influence on his behavior and no one's really treated to more than that not so much so I I agree with those aspects I liked those aspects. Thanks I just felt uncomfortable in and you already kind of heard why so I will not give us an ugly because again the performances says the technical ability like it is a great looking film as great well acted film but this is the bad for me because I just did not like the core conceit of of the film so I'm sorry so sorry for you and we will never see this joker again again it is one of the problems uh-huh with DC yeah this is a complete one off Essex even okay never seeing this joker again and the way that they again show titled Martha Wayne Getting Killed Ogan Logan. They made a sneaky back door way of introducing something where it could pet. I know it does not can happen like this just done. This is in comic book terms. This would be an else world's tale. That was what to do a few times a year and they're just peg this. is the kingdom come right. All of my Comic Book Readers Kingdom. Come is my all time. Favorite mini series that has four issues doesn't else world's tale so this is what this is what the movie is it is a one off and it will not have any tendrils anywhere else so perfect all right so so moving along to one that another one that Matt recommended so mad and I and we have different studio connections we talk to different people and so sometimes sometimes yeah we each get different access to things and so for the second time in a row Matt some stuff on you do again so go ahead. This is better than a corporate animals or literally forgot about until I was like putting Taylor the show and I was like all right. Oh yes a really real bar. That's a man so what did you bring this time. Okay so this time I brought a little number called Harpoon. Harpoon is a very stripped back minimalistic quals I- horror quasi survival dark comedy. I think that it definitely it fits more cleanly like in the midnight movie category than it does in like traditional horror osher there are definitely currently elements of that to it so this is directed and written by Rob Grant Stars Munro Chambers Emily Tyra Hira and Christopher Gray and there's a there's a narrator from narration from Brett Gelman and debt is literally. I was going to say when I pull up the cast on. I am DB. I B I c four people like wait there. Were only there were only yes. There's a narrative and he gets top billing which is all I mean. He's on stranger things so Munro Chambers was him yeah. Munro Chambers is the kid from Turbo Kid. If you've seen Turbo Kid oh million lean years ago yeah none of these other. None of these other guys have really any credits to their name or or credit anyone I gotcha turbo kid itself is kind of a deep cut but so this story is about and it's literally just three. You Know No. You don't see a convenience store clerk. there's no passer bys on the street is literally just this trio the entire movie with a Sardonic the narrator and so the story follows their friendship long story short. There's some suspected infidelity on the parts of multiple parties and these parties on go on the behalf of pretty much everyone all three of them and they decide to go out on the boat of one of the characters Richard. He's a rich dude dude named rich they go out on his boat to kind of Hash things out and resolve things and as has one could probably figure out it doesn't go so well going on a boat ride with people who suspected of cheating on you as maybe not the the best idea and so begins this time strategy where maybe they become cannibals which as I'm watching this I was like Okay Matt. This is the second movie who have brought in bringing in Hannibal this job so does isolation cannibalistic nature sure of people and I'm like okay here. We go little. Do you know that I'm just doing this so that if there is an apocalypse at strikes while we're in the midst serve recording a podcast you already know that it's inevitable turn to cannibalism what I what I really liked about. Harpoon is that again when you keep it this simple it can go one of two ways it can fail miserably because allow real quick because it just does not work with the chemistry country or you get something like this where because it is such a small cast like you really start to believe that connective tissue between all the characters the other thing is this is a three person cast and a I would say three-set. Oh barely could mean the apartment. There's a top of the boulders exterior boat yeah so we have three sets yeah. When I said minimalist yes like literally they could could a shot this over a weekend with some friends and I I mean because of my love and respect for Indie film making that really really drew me to this because I was like this is what it comes down to? It is like hey I want to make a move we with my friends or you know my colleagues or whatever you WanNa call them and we have two locations yeah three locations and a weekend have always see we can do but with that and it is more than that like it actually has a good good budget has some good practical effect and the horror element or the candidate midnight feeling element reminded me of open water okay where it was like you. There are multiple films that have the same type of premise where you're on a boat. Everything is going fine but all it takes for you to be in a real bad. Situation is one thing right and so in like there was open water. They fell off the boat and cannot get back in in open. Water is when they're scuba dive without that one was I was not so funny though based off a real thing there is another one where they may two of them. Somebody falls off of a of a yacht and is treading what the boat is. I mean literally right there but they cannot get back on the boat. That is terrified. Oh yeah like humans like to think we're the top of the day's big oceans are real big and end and there's sharks as soon as you enter the water as soon as you enter the jungle as soon as you enter the mountain and you're not at the top of the food home real quick yeah yeah. I what I really liked about. This movie is I think one of the things that you're talking about. It's like the simplicity of it and yet the relationships are very layered because you have you have the two best friends and then a girl and the girl has been with both of the friends and that is the girlfriend of one of them and that creates a lot of complications since but it's that doesn't necessarily sound like a concept that could drive an entire feature but the way that they do this. They're always kind of peeling back layers and making the world fuel a lot larger than just the three sets and the three people like there are all of these other characters introduced like Richard's father has like a big presence in the film and this never even seen black and white like somebody leading which they could have gotten that offer like stock images DOT COM by a ten second video video blackman video of a guy lighting a cigarette yup. I like how the movie is able to take these these characters that at our only talked about never seen really on screen and blow them up to make the world feel larger yeah absolutely I mean it just like you said it. It was not named dropping characters that we never really hear about her name. Dropping characters that we never get a feel for it is Oh what about your dad and then we get a story we get stories about this. What about this other person from your past? Then we get this layer that was just fascinating and it goes until the last five minutes of the movie. Oh yeah like there is still more developing as it goes in and even at the very end of the movie and the narrator has a great line you know right at the end like that all the way from beginning to end. We're continually getting rewarded with interesting storytelling and there's so many there's so many red herrings calm through this where your entertainment to think yes. You're led to think one thing and then it will subvert your expectations and go another way and I think that that's that's one of the things that's so fun about. This is is like in a lot of movies like in the first act you'll be introduced to a gun and then you know that by the end the the guns go wadad going to cause something. I think that one of the fun things about this movie is like the checkoffs gun itself is is a guessing game and like a mystery that you you don't realize was the checkoffs gone all along until the end and this baby has one of the best twist endings like yeah in quite quite a while. It's so good I like. I like stood up and it was like Oh damn like it was good. It was cleverly lev really well done yeah. It was I mean hundred percent did not see that coming no matinee C. Three hundred films a year yeah. There's got me yeah absolutely got me. It's not just the twist what happens after the twins and everything and I was like alright who is who is the writer so it's so rob grant. He's actually he's made like a dozen movies and they're all super low budget. Things good for Dave never heard of or let's see director credit. He has seven movies but you've probably never heard any of them. I've never seen any of them but I gotTA check come out. He's also the writer and like he's really crafty and like for again working with a trio of actors with not necessarily a ton of experience under their belt like some of the all of the acting is solid. It's not like Oh my God like these guys earth-shattering. I think Munro Chambers he's he's. He's pretty special. I think he's great especially as things start to go more and more wrong and you know the temptation of cannibalism listen quickens he is really good but but just the way that that that grant is able to write these characters in the story and and keep us constantly interested in constantly kind of flipping the script on us. I just think it was like a really smart and fun..

"I'm your host Tom panties. So this one is a little special. It's not just because I'm one episode closer to episode one hundred for this one set down with Amanda, and we talked about the first of two milestone years for the both of us, which is nineteen ninety-five. Why will originally this episode was actually going to be about the movie clueless? But the more the two of us plan the more we realized that we were going to have more fun talking about nineteen ninety-five a whole instead of just clueless. So this what we decided to do. Instead, we're going to take you through TV movies and music of that year and also enter the question, why is it so important for the two of us. We'll get to that. Right. After this break. Hey, Mike shack. What what are you doing in my house? I had a key mate. But that's not important. Anyway, I just had a great idea for a trailer for that cute little network. You do that the fortress of Bailey to podcasting network. That's the one horrible. I love it. I mean, look at you with the network and stuff. Thanks. I I think anyway, you know, how people sometimes advertise something by like being stream in suggesting that you just might die. If you don't buy a particular product or something. Yeah. I believe those people are called sadists sadist. That's one way you could say or guy with a marketing degree kind of the same thing. Anyway, we could record a promo where I ask you something like Mike, do you know who didn't listen to the fortress of Bailey to podcasting network? Gwen Stacy, really, you know who else didn't listen to it. Thomas and Martha Wayne the wains and uncle Ben not the rice. The entire planet of krypton except those that survived. What about Bucky or Jason Todd? That's genius. Okay. We'll say they didn't listen and then Super Bowl prime punched a wall. And then they listened and they were brought back to life. I guess we could also save aunt may subscribe and unsubscribe all the time. I love it. Love it. Now, you're catching on not doing that shag. I'm not gonna suggest that people will die if they don't listen to the fortress of Bailey. Tune hod casting network which hosts such shows as from crisis decreases overlook, dark Knight views along box. It all goes back to superman and Bailey's Batman podcast, and they can find the network at WWW fortress of Bailey to duck. Sure. I mean do have like a marketing degree and stuff. I'm pretty smart. No, can I be in the trailer. Yes. The fortress of Bailey tude.

"Remember, he flips all those cars with the guns. That's all. They're there for Peter. Okay. Actually interesting because the Batman no kill thin camp out because of all the restrictions. The government put in place against comics in the fifties. Following all these censorship outcries? So rather than you know, just have Batman suddenly stop murdering they built into the character. They doesn't murder in these days eve as grim as Batman comics are all these days, and they're really grim. It's such a cornerstone of the character, you know, even post Burton Burton. So it's just it's so strange to hear this still because it's been, you know, sixty years is Batman has not been a murderer burns limb person ever go out that path that it's so strange to me. Well, I mean, it seems like Saks netter was trying to create his whole other version of the D C. The universe. And he also made this other quote, this other comment about his original plans for that Martha scene. Chris it tell us about it. I I I know it's it's almost too hard to believe this. I if I need to hear it come out of your mouth, this is this is really wild. So I he went off a little spiel defending the infamous scene in Batman v superman where Batman is seconds away. From just straight up murdering superman and superman, you know, asks Batman to save Martha which is his mother and batmans mother, of course, was also named Marsha. You know, there's Martha Kent that Superman's mom, and there's Martha Wayne, that's batmans. Bob and superman saying that makes Batman realize like oh, superman has a family, and blah, blah, blah. I've been wrong this whole time. That's an okay idea in theory. But the execution is really bad, and we're all still laughing about it. So during the same event Zack Snyder, I he defended that. Apparently, he revealed that there was originally a much crazier idea about this where it turns out that after Martha Wayne got shot in crime alley which you know, is of course, the famous Batman origin story where his parents get gunned down batmans dead died, but Bartha Wayne survived and she was put in the witness protection program in Kansas at which point she became Martha Kent under assumed identity. And then, you know, she found superman in the field or whatever after he crashed earth and raised him as her son. So there's going to be this twist. Where after superman reveals his mother is named Martha Batman learns that they're like a brothers, essentially, they have the same mother. And boy, I wish he had done that because that would have been just even more crazy, and I would love to see the reaction to that. Oh my God. The outrage would've been insane. There's so much wrong with. This. Why wouldn't Martha Wayne leaf traumatize son alone be raised by the Butler? Why would why why I mean, you know, to to give Zach sired the doubt, we don't know the whole thing because we don't have the script. Maybe in this version of the story. She thought her son was dead. I don't know why they would put her at the police protection program and not tell her son was alive. I don't know. I'm trying to be nice wouldn't hear about Bruce, Wayne from you You know know..

"No shot every I slightly misspoke in an interview I did with interviewed him. He says I saw a lot of people who credits were basically Disney channel kids and they came at one hundred ten percent, and he couldn't say next quick enough. Right. This is the opposite. This is somebody who knows exactly what she's doing. It has really remarkable razor sharp comic timing. Just always seems absolutely authentically this this girl, and it's great. It's also responsible for probably the funniest moment. I had a theater all year. Which was when the scene comes around where she ends up in the back of a car with an older. Boy, there were a trio of Yuccas in my theater who were not into the movie at all they were giggling amongst themselves. They were teenage boys, and they were like, oh, this is chick flick. What's going on? And then that scene started, and they all just went rigid, and they're all sitting there whispering to instead of whispering to each other whispering the screen out. No, dude. Don't. Do it. Leave loan. Oh god. What? I wanted to Pat all of their heads and say you're on the right track. All right. So our next category. Here of runners comes from superhero movies, and this year, we saw the did bring the funny tasha bringing the variety here to our little show with this one from a movie I hadn't watched until you brought it up as a contender for this category. Teen, titans, go to the movies, and it's really worth saying there's there's one fan out there. I can hear him. So there were there were record breaking number of superhero movies in two thousand eighteen and most of them had some element of comedy and many of them had some element of meta. But none of them. Go more meta than the teen titans movie, which is about superhero movies specifically about Robin and his desire to have a movie made about him. And a pretty tells them fairly early in the movie, I would make a movie about you. If you were the only superhero there was so he and his team go back in time and eliminate all other superheroes pretty casually like you do and save krypton from blowing up, and they meet the wains and save them from being shot in crime alley mostly by pointing out. It's called crime alley. Why are you going there? And then it come back to the present. They realize that world without superheroes is terrible. Because they didn't do anything about super villains. And they have to go back in time and blow up crypt on and ensure that the Wayne's die in crime alley all of this had me on the. Floor, but the touch that we see here where they take time to put that Connick Pearl necklace on Martha Wayne before they shoved in front of the guns. The comic in movie is amazing. It's really really good. Might superhero pet comes from ant man and the wasp which wasn't my favorite fan. Okay. I think the best parts of that movie where the non sequiturs just where it kind of stopped and went off in a weird direction and one of those directions. When Michael penna pay is given truth serum by the bad guys. This sons him into this motormouth digression, and I have to give bonus points for somehow working in a reference to Morrissey. It just makes no sense. But it's perfect. So that's my honorable pain is the MVP of everything he's in. I do love that scene. And then we go to my Joyce, my superhero choice, and we're going to test tasha net theory of context pay off here. We'll see if it works for the audience as much as it works for me is we take it out of that context. But this is from deadpool two, and it is the x force sequence. So dead pools battling cable he needs to form a team he holds additions. We need bedlam shatter star. Zeitgeist vanish domino played really. Well, by Z beats in the film, and Peter who's played by rob Delaney. The stand up and actor and he's he's not a mutant. He doesn't really have any special powers pretty normal guy. But he won he won deadpool over at the addition. And we see them as they're about to skydive from a plane and make this big assault and the pounding and ready to go, except maybe Peter who does wonder if anybody else's worried about the high winds, let's watch the same..

"And like, I actually I've heard that they've had trouble with too many people just like hanging around that scares them because they love that that franchise and was wonder if like this is like something like this came out of that that like, you know. I look at us and people are loving this property, they have install show for killer clowns from under space, and that's how this came about. But I mean, I guess it's good that scifis branching beyond the asylum. Esq? Kind of films, right? Yeah. And maybe if they if they get if it gets more people to check out, the original, probably good thing. Chris. I guess I guess I like, Peter I agree with Peter that it's I think you said as to where it's going to be almost impossible to recreate the quote, unquote. Magic of the original film, film is such a. A testament of it era. And I feel like anything they do. Now is going to be like intentionally stupid original film. It's it's funny. But it's not like trying to be stupid. They're trying to make a movie, and I feel like any remake is going to be like nudging you in the ribs every five seconds. Like, ha ha get it. Like, I I don't I don't want that. Yeah. Yeah. I don't want that either. And yeah, okay. Let's move on. We've been talking a lot about this joker movie. That is information with walking Phoenix has now cast, Bruce Wayne in Elfriede, then what is going on here. Yeah. So Dante Pereira Olson a young child and a middle aged actor Douglas Hodge have been cast in this joker film, playing a young Bruce Wayne a middle aged Alfred pennyworth respectively. The reason that this matters is because as far as I know a lot of the development of job has been like throughout the development of this movie. It's been compared to the killing joke, which is a Batman graphic novel. That depicts version of the jokers origin story, and in that story Batman is sort of instrumental in the transformation of this failed comedian character who's in the movie going to be played by walking Phoenix into the joker. So Batman, as a superhero that we know him as their win this character falls into this. Chemical drainage system, and and basically becomes turned. It turns into the joker, but Dante career Olsen is a very very young kid. So that means that an adult Batman is probably not going to be in this movie, unless there's like a huge time jump in another character is going to be cast as Batman that. We don't know about yet. So it pretty much means you can scrap that possibility of Batman factoring into the creation of the joker in this movie. So I I'm just this entire movie still continues to baffle. I mean, we could see the other thing. Right. We could see the thing that we've seen budgetize now where the joker is the the inciting incident of creating Batman by killing his his parents, right, right? Yeah. That that could be it. And that that seems to be likely because this kid is so young that that would be around the age that we've seen Bruce Wayne in in the past and the comics and the previous movies and stuff like that watch his parents. Get gunned down in an alley in front of him. So I guess all signs are pointing to another Thomas and Martha Wayne murder scene coming up in this movie. I'm betting that that scene happens very late into this film..

"I put up on my social media joker wouldn't now not not the other joker moving the not. No, not that one that you're thinking of the other other joker moving. The one that actually is happening, not one of the other six that they have been talking about and or planning. This is the joker movie with walking Phoenix in it. And it has directed by Todd Phillips, who did the whole hangover films? Not quite sure how how the tone is going to be different. But in this twenty four second teaser where it's kind of the color test the Todd felit, Todd Phillips, put up on it, Instagram of walking. I go to the motions and the makeup. It is twenty four seconds and walking sold me. He shows such range in that less than thirty second clip where I cannot wait to see what he does in the movie. Fast forward to like a day or two later, we get behind the scenes video of some sort of like subway scene or underground scene where he's rushing out of or walking out of a subway car, and there's chaos. That also have very, very short scene, but it looks compelling looks interesting and kind of what time period this is going to take place in some of the characters in that subway scene made it look like the seventies, maybe the early eighties. So we really do not know what time period is taking place in, but we do know that Thomas Wayne is still alive. Thomas and Martha. Wayne are still alive. We have not seen any thing of Bruce yet or any news the boo them are still alive. Whether or not joker has a hand in their untimely demise or not. We'll have to wait and see, personally, I hated that aspect of Tim Burton's, Batman. I truly do not want that to happen again in this new film, do something different. You could introduce a joker, have one of his henchmen or maybe someone completely unconnected to him, shoot Thomas and Martha Wayne. But yeah, from what we have seen so far, Thomas Wayne is in it. He is alive if you live for the whole thing. Who knows? But yeah, this one again has me excited and has me scared because it looks really solid so far I'm interested to hear his laugh and his voice because the character so far that we have seen is very similar like the like Cesar Romero like Batman, nineteen sixty six style as far as makeup and general. Aesthetic. I need to hear his voice. I need to hear that laugh because is it going to be the obviously Mark Hamill, the perfection of the joker persona is going to be that type of laugh is going to be a heath ledger kind of maniacal laugh. I, I really curious and they have not released anything out of him speaking or especially that laugh. So I think they might hold onto that until the first actual trailer who knows because we see him laughing in that teaser. Video do not hear it, but that is a quintessential part of the joker persona. I, I got to see it. So I'm interested in that. The next trailer before I go into the last bit of news is the new Fendt has to be beats and where to find them or note fantastic beasts, the crimes of Grundel wall trailer. This is a film that kind of blew me away a couple of years ago when it came to fantastic beasts nor to find them, I was not really sure kind of how this new entry into the Potter legacy this, the Potter pantheon, that is a tongue twister, trans to that ten times fast, the Potter pantheon, you know how it was going to fit in. It was going to feel disjointed where what the timelines, then the movie came out. I watched it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I also call that it was going to nominated for best costume design and it was because of costumes..

"That's all that we need to know all what if what, if this is prequel and we see him buying the necklace for his pregnant wife. What what if this is earth too? And walking Phoenix is actually playing Martha Wayne. That's the flashpoint universe not hundred to okay. I cannot speak for earth too. I should not. I do. I do not know enough about earth to verify confirm or deny that. I just know that in the flashpoint universe, Thomas Wayne becomes Batman and the joker is Martha. And yes, I said that name. Why did I say that? Yeah, who's earth two Batman, who is to Batman, isn't that isn't that the the black superman isn't that mucking Michael Jordan. Yes, yes. Earth to ran is Michael b, Gordon. Are we talking about? Yeah, now they died. They died, they did they. It is last point. My bad bad. I don't even know they don't even know what he's doing anymore. They got the three jokers movies coming out. They got the comics, they've got Batman nudity. I mean, that's comic news right there, but. That was. Yeah, D.C that I that I can't believe I, it's funny. It's like when I heard about that book, I was like, oh, you mean the jokers dead Batman, doesn't know if he did it in Constantine's going to help I'm in. And the only thing anyone's talking about is Batman, took his pants off Batman naked. Yeah. Yeah, naked. So. Yeah, yeah. So I don't know. I'm I, the more I see of this. Of walking Phoenix's jokers costume and make up the more I'm in. But when I first saw the screengrabs on Facebook, that stupid don't that no. No, that's dumb. But as I actually watched like the footage and things like that, I think I think I think they're gonna make it work, I really do. And so this is another case of it doesn't matter. They probably have our money. Yeah, that's. That's probably, I mean, if this were marvel movie and we're having this has hesitation. Date have our money, but this is Stacey. And you know, again, we've been hurt before. Yeah. I dunno, it's this is definitely an origin movie, so he's not in the toxic chemicals yet or whatever. I don't know. So all right. Jokers are fuzzy puppy news story for this week because joker gets us all riled up. I guess, is that Google honored mister Rogers neighborhood this week with a stop motion video. So if you guys noticed Google doodles change depending on what day it is an historic events and things like that. So on Friday, September twenty. First Google paid tribute to mister Rogers neighborhood because they taped their first episode on September twenty first nineteen sixty seven, which was fifty one years back. And so I've just image though they did two minute, stop motion video, trying to capture the love and all that jazz. That mister Rogers did. There will be a link in the show notes. You can watch on YouTube. But you know, it's got the mister Rogers theme song mister Rogers neighborhood theme song, and it just got Mr. Rogers walking around the neighborhood, interacting with children and trying to be positive. If you have not seen the documentary about mister Rogers, I don't think it's in theaters anymore, but search that out. That was a great documentary. I absolutely loved it. Yeah, yeah. I mean, fed Rogers was pretty amazing person. And even today, my my daughter watches Daniel, the Tigers neighborhood. And so when I've turned on mister Rogers neighborhood and Daniel, the stripe tiger comes on and. And prince are king Friday and my, my daughter knows those characters and she, that's that's from my shown like actually years or for my show. Let's get that straight their kid, but hold on now your kid. But yeah, no, I he's, he's, he's gotta..

"So I was saying, you know, in the the original incarnation of this when we thought that Baldwin was actually going to be playing this character. I thought that was, you know, in keeping with what this movie has been doing a cast, that casting was very on the nose, but it seems like something has just fallen apart in the last minutes here Peter, what do you make this? I don't know what to make of this because we had this weird tweet from Baldwin this morning being like, I'm not in this movie in like people weren't sure if he was joking or or what was going on. I mean, I don't know. I, I liked the idea of Baldwin as Thomas Wayne. What do we know about Thomas weans role in this movie? Do we do we know anything at all beyond the Trump s take on the character? No, not really. I mean in the comics, he was a wealthy philanthropist and. He and of course more of Wayne getting murdered after exiting theater and he's, you know, he dies right in front of young Bruce Wayne in that sort of provides the jumping off point for the origin story of Batman. So I assumed that we were going to see Thomas and Martha Wayne get gunned down in the streets again in this movie, even though we've seen that particular sequence play out in almost every Batman property that his existed in the past few years. So yeah, I don't know. We don't know about like what level of of roll this was supposed to be or how it was going to factor into the story, which is largely based on the comic, the killing joke, and it's supposed to be sort of like a dark, mid budget, crime drama, instead of a like an out and out traditional superhero movie each. Are we missing out on Alec Baldwin playing a Trump s character yet, again, on in media, all I very much disliked that description of that character because it felt like there. Antithetical to what Thomas lane was, at least in the comics and in like Batman, sort of legacy in terms of just like inspiring Bruce Wayne to take on the mantle of Batman because he was always a doctor and philanthropist who was trying to do well and use his wealth to, you know, aid Goffin's economy. But when I heard this news, I remember thinking that I felt like they were tying it into sort of the origin story that we saw in turn Burton's Batman in which the joker was the one who killed a Thomas and Martha Wayne. So I was wondering, are they going to go for some sort of different origin soy with Bruce Wayne? Is Thomas Wayne going to be somewhat more involved in the mob underbelly of Gotham or is somewhat involved in the joker story. So it was it's a, this is a very strange turn of events, and I don't really know what to make of it. I do like idea that the Wayne family was in some way responsible for the joker rise that there is this parallel between Batman and the joker. I, I also I know Ben, you're mocking the fact that they're going to. They could potentially show the assassination of persuades parents again on film, but I think it would be cool to see that in a different perspective. You know, we're seeing it from the jokers perspective, right? And we're, we're seeing it in the entirely different context of a story where that is not the starting point of something that's probably like in the climactic events of the story out, assume you could be right, and I think the killing joke the, the character of the joker is like a failed stand up comedian. And we know that they're keeping that conceit alive for this movie and he sort of gets ROY. Hoped into a life of crime because he's such. He's so bad at his standup job that he has to, you know, take this this crime job in order to support his family. And so I'm wondering if maybe walking Phoenix's character is going to be the one who is roped into actually killing the parents. Like, you know, we've seen the joker was the person who executed a Thomas and Martha Wayne in Tim Burton's Batman movie..
