"And you had Martha McSally appointed for a couple of those years s. Oh, this is really more like running for the U. S house, and it is the U. S Senate and already running again now, because, like you said, he's up again in two years. And as we saw with President Trump, you gotta start getting out there early with Mark Kelly. It's going to be very interesting to see how he actually votes and what he actually says. Because even when he was running, Martha, you're right. He did use the Sim of playbook. Quite a bit where it wasn't nasty. It wasn't getting down in the mud, but I'd also argue We don't really know what he stands for. He says. He you know, isn't Republican and is Democrat. But yet you hear him talk about, you know, border security and some things like that. That definitely sound a little more Republican side of the aisle than democratic. I just want to see what does he stand for? And what is he actually going to do? Or was it just about? Hey, I'm not Martha McSally. And in a lot of ways you right? He has some of those ideals that the Republican Party for so long sort of took hold on on many interviews on Katie are including on Arizona's morning news. Kelly would come on and say, Listen, we got to do what's right and border Security is part of it. At the same time, we gotta have more protections and universal. You know, gun laws and things like that. And so, therefore, I think we're all sort of waiting at the edge of our seats. Finding out how is he going to vote? What is his two years in the U. S Senate gonna look like before he's Gonna have to start doing all of this again. So we all have to get ready for all of this again, And I think the last part is what are Republicans going to do? And who are they going to put up up there to try to unseat him? Doug Ducey? Probably not. Kelli Ward, I'm guessing who has lost two primaries Azua Republican to run for U. S Senate, but weirdest year ever equal the weirdest election year ever. I think we can all agree on that, right? I would say that in the almost 15 years of doing business on my end, this is And, like no other and I don't have anything to compare it to. Except to say that I'm never gonna forget it. Joe. Global Pandemic didn't see that one coming for 2021. The year started. No, no, I actually just said a little while ago to somebody you might start off 2021 with a glass of champagne. But 2021 the year itself might start it off with a can of beer and say immediately to 2020 Here, Hold this. You know how we always say. Never forget a specific moment in history. I think We all kind of want to stay. Always forget 2020. Because at this point, let's bring on some joy and hopefully some better news with the vaccine coming out. I think that we're all looking for that You're listening to a K t A R news special. Look.

You know when people send food to the radio station can't eat it while we could've. We're crazy. We had people we trust send a stuff and we've eaten it. But that's the number one rule in broadcasting. Well, there were actually three Three. First of all, never leave your wallet in the dressing room. To be able to make really strong coffee. Don't go fooling around. And don't eat things that people give you, man. I love you. I'm your biggest fan here. I I brought you this cake. Next thing you know you're an intensive care unit. But I'll tell you Republicans are poised to maintain the majority of the U. S. And as of Wednesday morning, November 4th, this is the one plus so far. And guess what? They lost two seats. They lost Martha McSally to that psychotic astronaut gun grabber who has no business being anywhere near the Senate, and they lost. What was the other one? What's his name? Well, maybe I'll come up in here. But Ah, I want to say Booker a Brooker. I think it is out of Colorado, which is ah, just horrible because what's his name? Hickenlooper sent now That's insanity. John James has still not been given the night. He hasn't been told He's he's won. Yet. They're still clawing through the balance. And the lady had is is shrinking by the second just like they're doing it with everybody. You know, we find these 38,000 ballots out back here. We really should count. Um, I mean, after all. I don't I don't have any postmark on and ah, we can't match the signatures with anything in the database. But we really, really should counties. Ah, everyone on this for Biden. And Gary Peters, but we really should counties. Says here the GOP began election day with 53 to 47 margin, which is way not enough over the Democrats. Socialists at 11:45 A.m. eastern time. Democrats have picked up two Senate seat. That would be AH, as of yesterday. One pick up is in Colorado you heard is John Hickenlooper. He defeated sitting Senator Cory Gardner, man 54% of 44%. That's huge. In other words, the people in Colorado hate Republican Cory Gardner. I don't know much about him. Martha McSally lost. I do know that she was the best thing that they've ever seen out there compared to the guy that's in there now. Mark Kelly and Mark Kelly, 1 53% to 47%. Now why is this important? Well, and Republicans picked up a few more seats talk about that. This is this is probably the most important thing. Right now, given what's happened with Donald Trump in Joe Biden. Because I had this gun the other way had. Ah Ah, the Democrat Socialist taken the Senate of the United States is over. It's pretty much on the last legs right now, given Ah If Biden prevails. It's on. We're on her Last legs a bit is Oh, America will endure. America's always America. Beck was talking about this today. America Still here were just talking about the government know we're not Though the progressive wet dream that they will foist on America will destroy any vestige of what America Wass what's left of it. And we've been on a very uniquely American socialist path for quite sometime. I mean, how else would you explain? Well, just Obama care most recently, but the great society some years back. I mean, It's this is not the America of your grandfather, Just like the Democrat Party isn't the Democrat Party of your grandfather. It's straight up American Socialist Party Democrat Socialist of America, hollowed out the Democrat Party and worked their mojo, and they're really feeling your oats right now because they think they're going to get President Kamala Harris in there. They're going to just waste America the rest of the way. So is completely full bar. It is 100% irretrievable. You will not be able to pull America back out of the ashes. If they went. That's not hyperbole. That's not negative. That's not looking at the dark side. No, that's reality. So deal with it. No. Senate is the last line in the sand. And the reason for that is The Senate has while the advice and consent nothing going for it, But the other thing is They can't just take something from the house and passed up the president say. Sign it now. We have new legislation. That's not going to stop. If there is a president Joe Biden for a month or two before it's president, camel hairs they'll be they'll be living on executive orders. Huge executive orders So, uh, so it's a good thing we hung out of the Senate even really ready for this. It's only a one vote majority. Yeah, it's 51 to 49. Unless if James, if John James prevails in his race, it'll be 52 to 48. We started out 53 to 47, which is now This bespeaks a way more way more with our large problem, much larger problem, and that is just by virtue of the votes that came in that were legit. For the psychotic Democrat Socialist that's insane. Those are people that have signed on to. I don't like America in any form is what it was I I want it gone. I'm going to vote for Democrat Socialist because they will erase it and we'll start over again. They'll build a much better. Better country. We can't go forward with America because America's racist, selfish capitalist. It doesn't give anybody opportunity on the old white guys have opportunity to get stuff that mindset..
Democrats projected to retain control of the House of Representatives
"Of course, they believe they've got a Biden win as well. A CZ I want to take control of both houses of Congress. So far, Democrats have gained one seat. Cory Gardner, the Republican Colorado conceded to the former governor. A moment ago, I spoke to Senator elect John Hickenlooper to congratulate him on his victory tonight. To welcome him to the United States Senate and to make sure that he knows I will support him in this transition anyway, that I can. That flip is somewhat canceled out, though, is the Alabama Senate seat held by Democrat Doug Jones went to the very pro Trump retired football coach Tommy Tuberville in Arizona. While it appears the seat held by incumbent Republican Martha McSally is going to the Democrat, former astronaut Mark Kelly. Exactly said it was too soon to make that call. Kelly himself said he's confident but that votes were still being counted. Some seats are definitely staying in Republican hands. Joni Ernst is keeping her Iowa seat. Election 2020: Arizona's impact
"Of election 2020 continues our race. Our state will the side the direction of the country for the White House and the Senate majority. That was Republican Senator Martha McSally on with Arizona's Morning news Friday, and this morning, we caught up with her Democratic challenger on Election Day Eve. There's Jeremy Foster joins us live with more on what Mark Kelly had to say. One of the first things we asked Mark Kelly Jamie in a race where polls have consistently showed him in the lead there now tightening, in fact, a brand new Data orbital poll of 550 likely Arizona voters out this morning show Kelly just 1% point ahead of MK Sally Now. Two weeks ago, the same polls showed him up over six points. But Kelly told us he's still confident. Think the only Poles that really matters when folks go to the polls tomorrow, and when they count the votes, and that might take might be done tomorrow might take a couple days. I feel pretty good. Something else. Kelly and other Democrats may be keeping an eye on Republicans of return nearly 45,000 more ballots in Maricopa County than Democrats so far on the early voting side and about 90,000 Mohr than those who are not registered with either party. But Kelly points out that a lot of support from Republicans, including former elected officials, I have the Republicans for you know Mark Kelly for Senate Group. He also words folks to be patient. If we don't see the final results on Election day, and you can tune in all day for special election team coverage right here on our and we'll begin it tomorrow at five. AM I tell you, this is going to be one watch because the Republicans have come from behind to now lead with the number of ballots already returned and their also expected to turn out Maur enforce the Democrats at the actual voting booth tomorrow, so this is really going to be one to watch it is and we we heard from the Steve Cortes with the Trump campaign today. He's in there feeling increasingly confident about taking Arizona. All right. Thank you so much. Kate. There's Jeremy Foster.

"And if they're becomes a greater narrative that hey, this is going to be a by victory. I'm always skeptical of the idea that voters approach voting very strategically. But you could see a world where some of those look, I don't like trump. I'm gonna vote for by, but I don't want him to also have a Democratic Senate. So I will vote for Tom Tillis or Joni Ernst er, Martha McSally or whomever to try to create some balance. So we have the final debate tonight. We only had two instead of three because of this call to get rid of a second debate, even though Trump was already immune to covert at the time of that debate, do you? It seems like so much of this is already baked into the cake that people have their opinions of Trump. They they love him or hate him. There's not a lot of variability on that particular question and justice in 2016. It seems like if there is going to be any variability, it's gonna be on the other side of the ball. It's going to be more about How people feel about the Democrats. So in 2016 Hillary was bouncing around in the approval ratings between 40 and 50% and then ended up low. Biden has been very, very stable in that particular department, but he really has not had a glove late on him thus far, and Trump obviously blew an opportunity in the first debate to do that. Do you think that the Hunter Biden scandal makes any difference at all? And is it sort of Trump's last hope? Because, well, people are saying, Well, what if he just presents a positive vision of his of his presidency? It seems like that maybe a little bit late in the game do that two weeks before the election. I'm skeptical of the 100 Biden story effects many voters who are still on the fence because it's not an issue that affect someone's personal life directly. Every minute they spend talking about 100 myth. Biden is a minute they're not spending talking about Trump's economic record, and that is far and away. The best thing he has going for. 56% of Americans say that they're better off than they were four years ago. I think trying to drag down by his favorability number this late in the game. It's just too late for it to work. They've tried to throw everything at him on bright Now, you know if you look at that data as you mentioned, I just wrote a column for the Washington Examiner..

"I'm Martha McSally, and you deserve the truth. I've always supported protecting anyone with a pre existing condition, and I always will. Mark Kelly knows that. He knows I opposed Obamacare because it raised taxes and took coverage away from Arizonans. But he's using that obamacare vote to scare you about preexisting conditions. That's no surprise coming from Mark Kelly. Martha McSally is fighting to make sure every Arizonan has quality, affordable health care, especially anyone with a pre existing condition. Martha has dedicated her life to standing up to the powerful and protecting the vulnerable. I'm Martha McSally candidate for U. Changes in population of Arizona swings state more left
"This is a special edition of Balance of powers. Look at election 2020. I'm David Weston. Today We look at three critical swing states that could help decide who occupied the Oval Office next January. We start with Arizona once solidly Republican state that is now Maura, Va. Toss up. Arizona has 11 electoral votes and polls show a tight race. As for Vice President, Joe Biden hopes to become the first Democrat to win the Grand Canyon state since Bill Clinton did back in 1996. Or an overview. We spoke to Bloomberg contributor Rick Davis, who ran the 2008 presidential campaign of the late Arizona Senator John McCain. Four years ago in 2016. It was not a swing state, so it's one of those that have moved into the Swing column primarily because it changes both demographically in the state, but also ideologically demographically, I think you know, the increase in Hispanic population have moved it a little bit closer to the Democratic column. Hispanics make up almost a third of the Voting population now and on ideologically in 2016 trump one white suburban voters in Maricopa County, the largest county in the state. What really decides the outcome in states and in 2018, those same suburban voters fled the Republican Party, causing Martha McSally running for Election to the Senate to lose a Republican, so it's going to be an interesting ride there, but it's definitely a swing state this year. So if you say Maricopa County is I understand, you know better than I really determines the state. Largely. It's a really big count and a large portion of the voting populace. What has changed 16 4018 has the Democratic nature of Maricopa County's changes it more hetero genius than it was before is that they've changed their attitude towards things like immigration. Maricopa has been changing for a long time is one of those state or one of those counties. It's the city of Phoenix is in Maricopa County that has grown at an enormous rate. It's been one of the top five fastest growing counties in the United States for the last 15 years and is one of the top five of the largest counties in America. So it is a complex political beast. I would say What is starting to change is the Republican lock in the suburbs. In the past, we've been able to win the state by winning Maricopa. And if we are not able hold onto especially white women suburban voters in Maricopa County. We can't win the election for a perspective on what it takes to win statewide office in Arizona. We spoke to someone who's done it. Former Republican governor, Jan brewer. She admits the state is changing, but she hopes it hangs on to its conservative roots. There's a good chance that it is probably turning a little purple hair in Arizona, which is very distressful US Republicans, but the bottom line is is that we've had a lot of people moving in and out of California and other places coming to the great State of Arizona czar demographics. Have really changed. I think that we have to take that all into consideration were out there.

"809 47 Auto This is here and now Joe Biden and Mike Pence are both campaigning today in Arizona, the state that could be critical for the outcome of the presidential election. Arizona also might decide which party controls the U. S. Senate. The incumbent Republican Senator Martha McSally, is trailing her Democratic opponent, Mark Kelly, in the polls and in fund raising that Kamina difficult road ahead for President Trump and the Republican Party. In a traditionally conservative state here in house. Peter O'Dowd is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and that's where he joins us from for the latest in our Senate track or serious. Hi, Peter. Hey, Jimmy. And let's talk about the candidates here, starting with the Republican Martha McSally, who was appointed To the Senate after John McCain died in 2018 Tell us more about Senator MK Sally and her record. Well before she was a senator, Martha McSally was a Congress woman who represented a district in southern Arizona. And I think for years you could say that she was actually a pretty moderate voice, especially on issues like immigration. And, you know, even now, she'll point out that she's bringing to the sixth most bipartisan lawmaker in the Senate, but no doubt over the last few years in the Trump era, she's taken a hard turn to the right. She even sounds like President Trump of these days on the campaign trail. In a recent debate this week, she started calling Mark Kelly counterfeit Kelly, very Trumpian nickname. And she's trying really hard to make. Kelly appeared to be tied to the radical left just like the Trump campaign is doing with Joe Biden. That said, I think it's also important to point out her personal story, which is a key to her image in this campaign. Martha McSally served in Iraq and Afghanistan. She was the first woman in U. S history to fly a fighter jet in combat and to command a fighter squadron. And Jeremy. I don't know if you remember this. She took a very courageous step in a committee hearing. Admitting that she was raped by a superior officer in the war. So Martha McSally says that she's a fighter, and I think it's pretty hard to disagree with that. Well, and her opponent has quite the personal story as well. Mark Kelly is a former NASA astronaut married to Gabrielle Giffords, who of course, has been recovering for years from being shot. In Arizona. Mark Kelly has never held public office and at the candidates first and only debate this week, he criticized the Trump administration's handling of the pandemic. We've got a serious crisis on our hands. We've got a public health crisis which spurred an economic crisis, and both of these things have been made worse by a crisis of leadership. Over and over again. We have been a step behind. Tell us more about Mark Kelly and what his campaign strategy is all about. Yeah. In some ways you have to feel kind of bad for Martha McSally because it's hard to stand out as a fighter pilot politician when you're running against another person who flew combat missions for the Navy but who also was a NASA pilot for the shuttle missions to space. But that's really not even why he's famous. Here is you said hey, is best known as husband to Gabby Giffords. After she was shot the couple form this group that called for tighter gun control measures things like universal background checks, and I think this is really where you get the sense of Mark Kelly is the politician. He's got to do what other Democrats like Senator Kirsten Cinema have had to do in the state to get elected, which is to tow a very moderate line, so he may be famous for his work on gun measures. But he's also got to say to voters that he's a proud gun owner and that he has no intentions of taking anyone's guns away. So if he is to win in Arizona, he can't get dragged down into debates that make him look like he's a deep blue Democrat. The issue of health care also came up at that debate. Here's what Muk Sally had to say. Republicans and Democrats can agree on a couple things related to health care. First is we will always protect praises in conditions. There's nobody who disagrees with that. The second is that Obamacare is failing. It's not working, and so what I'm doing is fighting for more options for people. McSally has voted to repeal the Affordable Care act, which, of course, protects preexisting conditions. What is each candidate offering on health care in this race? Yeah, You know, Jeremy, I've spoken with both Democrats and Republicans in this state who say this race has been very, very low on policy, Generally speaking, but if there is one issue that comes up a lot, it's health care. Especially in Arizona, because, of course, the state had one of the worst covert outbreaks in the world just a few months ago. So as you heard Martha McSally promises to protect preexisting conditions, despite her votes to undermine or repeal the affordable care act. She says that Mark Kelly in the Senate will mean the end of private insurance, the end of Medicare as we know it. On the other hand, Mark Kelly, again trying to tow a moderate line here, says he supports a public option to compete with private insurance. It says he has no intention of taking away private plans if you want them. So when you look at all the Senate races that are kind of up for grabs this time around, it seems like this is the one that the Democrats are most confident about. Why is that? Why is MK Sally trailing and pretty much all the polls? It's not even that she's trailing. It's that she's trailing by a lot in some cases. The New York Times CNN poll this week showed her down by 11 points, so she's been looking up Kelly the entire time and I think a big reason is demographics. The same demographic transit are threatening to turn Arizona blew in the presidential race. Are also affecting the Senate race. People are moving from or liberal, expensive states like California the number of young Latinos and immigrants voting for the first time in Arizona is growing really, really fast. But at the same time make Sally is actually doing worse than trump in a lot of the poles, and one theory is that she was never elected, You know, just a few weeks after she lost that race to Kiersten cinema in 2018. She was appointed to this Senate seat. And so she started the job with a lot of people thinking like that she had been rewarded for losing an election. And then one of the thing, I'll say is that John McCain is really still a beloved figure in Arizona, Jeremy and and while she's spoken well of him in the past, you've got a lot of heat for not defending John McCain Mohr when President Trump was railing Against him and McCain's widow, Cindy McCain. It has endorsed Joe Biden and at the same time, has said she has no interest in supporting Martha McSally. Here now is Peter O'Dowd in Phoenix. As we continue our Senate tracker. Siri's looking at Senate races around the country love another one for you next week, Peter. Thank you. That it says independent fact, checkers said Martha McSally lied about Mark Kelly, one of the independent fact checkers that they reference on the screen. E. J. Montini. He's independent. That guy's he's as independent as I am. That would be like Martha McSally running an ad saying independent fact checker said Mark Mark Kelly lied and they referenced me. That's how independent E. J. Montini is. But those of the ads I'm talking about. We're just sick of him. At least I am I noticed that that Mark Kelly is sexist ad that is running now. I noticed that that popped up in the last couple of days. If not today, I'm not sure Today was the first time I noticed it and negative is hell does work. That's why they do it. It works on both sides when you can establish what seems to be a reasonable argument for someone, you know that I think the ad about Mark Kelly promising to hire people in Tucson, and it failed, and he kept millions. I think that does affect people because we all know getting government loans to start a business. A lot of people are not in favor of that on either side of the aisle. But looking at tonight what we're going to see and what we should see. Now is the time where both candidates will have to answer questions. Will Mark Kelly be forthright about where he stands on issues because Mark Kelly just uses the word independent. I'll be an independent voice. We should be independent in the Senate's We should work for all people of Arizona. That all sounds terrific. And it's all in platitudes. Where do you stand on Joe Biden's tax increase? Joe Biden wants a $3 trillion tax increase. Are you in favor of that or not? Will he answer that question. Where do you stand on stacking the court. If the Democrats take over the Senate, they control the House and Joe Biden wins. There are Democrats out there that want to stack four more liberal justices on the court to offset the three appointments by Donald Trump. Will you vote in favor of that? And if he won't answer the question, if he dodges the question, it will be apparent on the other side of that, asking Senator Max Sally. We're already trillions of dollars in debt. Donald Trump is saying he wants the lower taxes. Even Mohr. Will that add to the deficit And would you be in favor of Trump tax cuts? You've been accused of voting to get rid of people's coverage for preexisting conditions. Where do you stand on those issues? Each of those candidates will have to answer really questions we're going to. Hopefully, we're going to hear where Mark Kelly stands on some issues. Martha McSally has a record, good or bad, Whether you think it's a good record or a bad record. She has a reference. She's going to reference her record on what she sees on the positives. There is no record for Mark Kelly. That could be good and bad. We also don't know where Mark Kelly stands on the issues. He was on with Gaydos and Chad. He wouldn't answer the question about Supreme Court justices whether he would vote for the nominee. That's up there right now. Dr Judge Barrett. And he wouldn't talk about stacking the courts. Will they answer the real questions? And that if they will, That's what the people of Arizona want. Whether Mark Kelly is sexist or Mark Kelly did this or Mark barely sold energy drinks in China, Our protein shakes or whatever it was People want to know where they stand on the issues. In the end, those personality attacks may be effective. But you've got to know where people stand on the issue. And will we be able to get that tonight? If we do? I'm gonna love watching it If it isn't that And it's going to be boring, and it's going to be frustrating. President Trump Back in the White House. He has a message for everyone. We're going to let you hear the message. Next President.
Arizona Senators mcSally, Sinema don't expect coronavirus relief before November election
"Arizona's congressional leaders participated in a luncheon today hosted by the Arizona Chamber of Commerce. There, they talked about the possibility of another Covad relief Bill Gabriel Gamino is live in the new center with Mohr. It's looking good. It's very unlikely that we have a relief package before the election. Arizona's Democratic Senator Kirsten Cinemas, says a bill is unlikely to pass both chambers due to the inability of congressional leaders and the White House to work together on the other side of the aisle. However, Arizona's Republican senator Martha McSally says, Unfortunately, there's a lot of politics being played in all this and where we were able to come together. Previously in a unanimous way, it seems like there's some people here that would prefer to do nothing. They also talked about tourism, the economy and the need to pass a continuing resolution to prevent a government shut down on October 1st
Graham signals support for confirming a Supreme Court nominee this year
"W Airport. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to move forward on President Trump's nominee to fill the vacancy on the U. S Supreme Court that was left by the death of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Boxes. Chad program has more Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is adamant the Senate will vote soon. But in 2016 McConnell blocked the Senate from even granting a hearing to Merrick Garland. President Obama's pitch for the high court, Connell said It was an election year. However, in 2018, current Judiciary Committee chairman Lindsey Graham and the committee's former head Chuck Grassley, change there stands but that was then. Now, Graham says, full speed ahead. Other Republicans facing competitive races this fall are backing McConnell's power play. Like Arizona's Martha McSally. McConnell must juggle two things confirm the nominee. And simultaneously protect
Is Mitch McConnell Rigging The Game?
"Other news, there's the other branch of Congress or the other house. Of Congress. The Senate and everyone knows their Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell is unshakable and ruthless, and he's going to maximize his power however cam, but it is also the case the death of Justice Ruth Bader GINSBURG has taken us to uncharted territory. There are very real political pressures that are going to affect how the next several months play out. Mitch McConnell does not care about being charged with the Crisi but the raw politics of this moment themselves are not uncomplicated. As it was with the affordable care act remember Mitch McConnell had a lot of bravado about that and he failed famously and humiliatingly to replace the law. Here's mayor discuss across pressures. He faces longtime McConnell Allah Gist Jane Mayer Chief of Washington correspondent New Yorker wrote an incredibly insightful profile McConnell back in April this weekend row quote from Mitch McConnell keeping a Senate. Majority matters more than the Supreme Court. Jamie. It's great to have. Let's start with that because it seems to me there's two imperatives here. Everyone says about McConnell the two things he cares about is keeping the Senate majority and being Senate majority leader. Judges the Federal Bench, and there is a way to interpret the politics of the moment that there's a little bit attention between those two imperatives. How do you see it? Well, I mean there is I mean he wants to get obvious wants to hold the majority wants to stay being majority leader. And, this is going to be the crowning moment of his career to have yet one more justice on Supreme Court here we can get him through and he's promised trump of course that he's going to have a vote on this, and so how do you do this the problem? The problem for McConnell is it's unclear if he can keep the majority in the Senate. It's a dicey election year for him. There are a number of racist. They're very close and he doesn't want to do anything that's going to hurt the endangered members of his caucus. So he's got to try to juggle the schedule in some way that doesn't put those members on the spot in a way that will hurt them. So he's the first thing he's going to do an, and surely his done is canvas. Those members find out exactly how they feel about how this this process would affect their races. And then, and then way that in terms of whether it be better have a vote before or after the election. So. It's it's. It's. It's it's tricky but he is nothing if not clever about things like this this is he he? Very early on in his career, he ran for office from a district where he hadn't been resident in residence long enough and he vowed after that, he would never again ignore the rules, and since then he's become kind of a master of the rules, the more arcane the better. And he just he loves talking to the parliamentarian in the Senate and figuring out sort of the the most devious ways to get what he wants. The most sort of obvious pressure here. Just talking about this and I think it's pretty interesting. There's a bunch of folks who are up. In who are imperilled where it's not clear That going ahead with this would be helpful them. We have a bunch of pulling out today showing majority of people oppose it. Those numbers will probably change as they converge towards the polarization and everything else. But like Cory Gardner is down in all the polls and Colorado, he's in a state that Democrats have carried. Now a bunch and plan to carry again Martha. mcsally sally is down a to mark Kelly. You know they're on the sort of aggressor side here in terms of public opinion. It does seem like they've kind of don't care. It doesn't seem like there's a jump together mentality here in terms of getting them to come out whether it was him or not a publicly for those. Well I think. He's GonNa. Be Looking at McConnell will look at each of these races and I think you can almost imagine that he's written off. Gardner in. Colorado, and makes out the in Arizona. So he's not going to change his plan just for them unless he thinks it's going to save them and you'd probably thinks it won't save them and he's already given collins kind of buy in Maine. So it gets you down to the racist that are really going to matter in this are probably it's it's probably Tillis in North Carolina, Joni Ernst in Iowa, and Danes in in Montana, and if McConnell feels that those three or not endangered by going head, he may just gun it. You know and and try try to get I think though that in addition to just thinking about each of these races and how it affects each of the races, there's something else. He's probably got to think about, which is the overall look of this thing if if it appears to the American public that he is one set of rules for Democrats and there's another set of rules he's got for Republicans here, one Senate rules for America and another set of rules for whoever trump nominates at this point, it looks like he's reading the game it looks corrupt. It looks like a naked power, grab an and it's ugly and that could actually create a backlash I think that both he and trump have to think about. It it might really bother a lot of people in this country to think that that it's it's just too corrupt game in Washington. Yeah, I. think that's a correct reading of both where the polls are and the political risks they run and I think it's notable that McConnell has committed to vote but not win and I thought. This was also notable. He wrote this dear colleague later re basically says I don't say anything don't lock yourself into position. Let it give it give us time to work over the coming days. We're GONNA come under tremendous pressure from the press to announce how he will handle the coming nomination for those who are unsure how to answer for those inclined to oppose giving nominee a vote I urge you all to keep your powder dry Dombrowski and collins. Have not heeded that but Mitt Romney said declined today saying anything I know Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania I fully expect will support moving forward. But that that to me, it was interesting because the timing here and the sort of needle to thread is not nothing I think we'll try to do it and the odds are in their favor they will. But because of exactly what you and unseeded from the political standpoint, it's not clear that this is help for them politically in the short term. I think it may not be I. Mean I think also it's going to energize the base on both sides here for and the thing is that when it comes to the energizing the base, the base that needs more energizing really is probably on the Democratic side and you've already seen it happen I, mean look at the amount of money that act Lou raise you know practically overnight a hundred, million dollars two, hundred and sixty. Now it's one hundred and sixty million dollars. Shipping shocking about money. Shocking money an and I think the other thing that it might do is from was doing some reporting two days. I think it may really energize kids younger voters because. You know they were kind of holding their nose, a lot of them about Joe Biden it wasn't an exciting. It didn't seem you now like there was that much reason to do it. Now there's a reason that a lot of young people are GONNA see they're gonNA look they're gonNa see Roe v Wade is in the balance they're going to see a four Bul healthcare act and possibly anything to do with insurance for preexisting conditions and they're looking at the future this is going to. Their. Lives for the this is a this is a decision that has tremendous implications for everybody in the country and it's GonNa be clear and so I, you know it may turn you know help turn out. The Democrats who were young. Six three Roberts court climate. Regulation jurisprudence. A. Favorable to the kinds of solutions. That are necessary. Do you think? Ultimately McConnell himself is up and I don't think he's. He's personally a lot of trouble against say, McGrath at least the pulling now but there are also just a bunch of seats that weren't supposed to be in play that really do seem like they are. There's A Texas poll that has cornyn barely up. There's a Mississippi poll out today that has. Chrissy Hyde Smith a just a few points on Mike espey. There's the Iwa Joni Ernst race I mean it's wild how wide the sort of battlefield has gotten for him to try to hold this thing together. It's it's really volatile and and and the thing is it. What it does is it puts the Republicans on the spot about they've been doing kind of a split that's broader and broader that gotta keep the trump face and and but that's not enough for in many places to get reelected, and so they've got to do is add in. The moderates the you know suburban women particularly and got a candidate here who for a nominee for the supreme court that is truly the choice of the evangelical part of the trump ace it by very much alienate moderate women in the suburbs and in other places especially over things like abortion where sixty two percent of the people in this country saver. Abortion. As keeping it legal and don't WanNa go backwards. So it's it's. It's I think it's a it's it's a it's a it's a risky thing for some ways. You people think it's all into such a gift. Not, necessarily think that's right. Read on the situation Jane Mayer thanks as always great reporting and inside appreciate it. Great to be with you.

"Stories on Arizona's new station, Katie Our news. Arizona votes. Yeah, Let's talk more about that new poll and the Senate race here in Arizona, which so many people around the country are watching, and actually, so many people are pouring millions of dollars from elsewhere in the country into this race, Senator Martha McSally dads. They seem to be working for her last month as she gained some ground against Mark Kelly. But then Kelly's ads trying to answer back might be working even better. Jamie just mentioned this 52 versus 42% from O h predictive insights. Arizona Senate related race breaks down that way of 52% from R. Kelly, the 42% for The senator who is currently sitting in that seat. Martha McSally Noh data analyst Jacob Jaws points out. Kelly's lead has doubled from a month ago. A key reason why make Sally continues to struggle against the former astronaut comes from independent voters. This poll finds Kelly leading among this group by 20 points 55% to 35%. He also says 15% of registered Republicans. Our sighting with the Democrat Mark Kelly, while make salads only getting about 6% of Democrats supporting her. So that makes a big difference on just says that Sally's numbers may look bad, but Look what's coming Spending on broadcast ads. Romick Sally groups are spending millions of dollars trying to keep the former fighter pilot in office if he's national spenders thought MC Sally was a lost cause. They would be cutting bait, not investing millions of more dollars in ads, and they.

"Your families and your kids while protecting and preserving our seniors and Medicare and Social Security for American exceptionalism and opportunity that only happen in America with conservative policies that division I think you'll hear President Trump talk about in his speech tonight, uh, that's with on the ballot. The other alternative is Joe Biden. Chuck Schumer, Nancy Lothian charge and they've already said Alabama's the filibuster. They're goingto make a least Washington state to more Democrat senators. Open borders free health care for illegal raise your taxes When everything a major party running on we're going to raise your taxes the green bad deal. I mean, this is so radical. It would make Obama's first years look like conservative and that's why people need to understand here in Arizona. I'm ground 02 make sure Chuck Schumer non jarred Mark Kelly, my opponent and Joe Biden there like a Trojan horse, You know, they just want to say We're nice people vote for us, and then ran that radical agenda down our throat and we're going to stop that from happening. Freedom loving conservative Americans all over the country who care about our freedoms and our way of life. We have to stop it from happening. Senator. Would you mind mentioning the website? So people hear this around American can and for whom it resonates can help you out. Absolutely. It's make Sally for senate dot com and we in Arizona are dead here right now, Despite the millions of dollars that are being poured into my opponent were dead. He the president, Betty and I guess that section we're gonna have two privates in a majority out of my cold dead hand. I need fuel in the field. Think so. If you guys are willing to join in and help because you want to save our country, I would be honored. Hey, Senator, Just just out of the blue. I want to ask you what what has made socialism so seemingly attractive to so many Americans? Not to me, And I'm sure not to you, but But what makes this so attractive? When so many failed states around the world states that you might have had to fly in a one on one time our representative of that kind of socialism, and yet it seems to have a residence here with some people. I don't understand it. Large eyes your We've many women like myself in uniform. We have been fighting against these types of radical shift. Uh, that are fundamentally out of touch with American values and our way of life. I don't understand it, and I think some of it and maybe, you know, education. People need to understand what that actually means. I think there's challenges. You do have a generation whose parents really struggled under the Obama Biden economy, And so they just see the results of it on DH there looking for different options, but we've gotta engage with each of them so that they understand that America is about opportunity about freedom. It's about equality, but it's not about socialism. It will be destructive for our country's direction and our way of life. And that takes engaging with every vote because I don't understand. I just don't understand why that's getting on in America fundamentally out of touch with who we are well and because you didn't get to be a colonel in the United States Air Force has a participation trophy. You had to earn it by merit, and you certainly didn't become a senator. Because it was a participation trophy. You had to earn it. And Americans have always been proud. In fact, most of the successful people in this country will tell you, why about all the hard stuff they had to do to get to Where they are. And now to say, Well, instead, I'd like you to just hand it to me. I would like a check every month. I'd like my housing and medical care paid for. Why can't you just pay for all of my basic necessities so that I don't have to earn it? I don't understand that. You know, my dad came from humble circumstances and his dad passed away before he was born and mom when he's a teenager, and he started working at the age of eight and through hard work and people believing in and serving the military and using the G I bill he has to live the American dream and make a better life for us kids, and he passed away when I was 12 years old. Very suddenly before he passed, he told me, among other things we talked about. You told me to make him proud. And this is what America is all about. That propelled me on a path to carry on his legacy and to meet my potential to break through barriers. This is what America is about. We have a social safety net. We've gotta support those who are in need, and we gotta have a hand up. For people to be propelled to meet their full God given potential that's what we believe that's what are what make America the greatest country on Earth. That's what others who have come here legally toe, please. Socialism and communism have come and been ableto pursue the American dream on that look on the ballot in 68 days. Senator. It is a real pleasure. Thank you very, very much. I know where time has grown tight, but thank you for your service in uniform. Thank you for your service in the Senate, and I look forward to seeing you in the Senate come January. All right. Thank God like you about you as well. That is Senator Martha McSally. She is now retired from the United States Air Force, But you should know this is a woman who II was not holding back when I said that. The Democrats did sing her praises when they saw her doing things that they thought they liked like fighting against the Pentagon because of requirements that were imposed on American women in uniforms, even though they weren't imposed on men and they were really imposed by foreign nations, Middle Eastern nations that said, If you want to send women to our country, you must have them dressed in a burka. That was absolutely unacceptable. The United States government should have done it on their own. But it took a lawsuit by now. Senator make Sally then Colonel McSally, and she said it wrecked her military career. The fact is, this woman earned her way to the top first woman in combat First woman to command an Air Force squadron and then to become the senator from Arizona. It is an admirable career, and if she were a Democrat, they would be talking about her all day long and twice on Sunday instead. Instead, they go after and they wanted to be replaced by Mark Kelly. Now you might recognize his name. He's been an activist on gun issues. He's a guy who and I remind you of this because we've talked about Mark Kelly's background before. Astronaut and the like. But he didn't even respect the gun laws of his own state. And there were times where he cheated under the laws because he wanted to own guns, But he comes from a side of the aisle that says I want the elites to be able own guns, But I don't necessarily want ordinary citizens to own guns. And I'm gonna be reminding people of that kind of background for Mark Kelly because it's shameful. It is shameful when a lead say I wanna have personal protection provided by armed men and women and the the elites and government enjoy that virtually every day that they're in office. But when they say from that elite position, we don't want to let ordinary citizens have those same kinds of protections. That should outrage just about anybody. So I'm an unabashed supporter of Senator Martha McSally from Arizona. I'm glad to see her in office. I want to see her re elected and I want to see her holding up the important You know, votes that are going to come up. We're gonna have votes on treaties, perhaps in the second Donald Trump term, We're going to see votes on whether or not to confirm federal judges, and we're probably going to see a TTE leased a Supreme Court justice, perhaps, too, and that will have to be confirmed by the U. S senate. And you've seen the way the Democrats have behaved with with a number of the confirmation hearings where they behaved absolutely shamefully, they think nothing of throwing a bucket of mud. At any nominee that comes from Donald Trump. And yet what we're getting in America is something in the courts on Capitol Hill in our laws that is going to last for the rest of our lives and into your Children's lifetimes. It is really.
Biden Leads Trump, 49%-44%, Among Likely Wisconsin Voters in Latest Marquette Poll
"Some new polling shows that things are actually tightening. Now, one poll, there was a national poll, but we don't talk about national polls that had trump down ten points national, completely irrelevant, not applicable at all national polls. Do not matter. Show me state polls, show me trends now Monmouth, which has donald trump down ten points. Nationally had the same in August of two, thousand sixteen. However. There's a Marquette University poll in Wisconsin that shows Biden up five points now, that might seem like bad news. But as we examined some of the new emerging polls on a statewide basis, which is more important. Especially in battleground states, we have a totally different picture. Now, remember you could lose California by eighty points by ninety points, lose the popular vote and still win in a landslide with the electoral college. Also something to consider at these polls polls that conduct something called live collar with cell phones, they tend to skew Democrat why this is what we call the shy trump voter. I add three to four to all these polls. OAS? especially in a presidential, never remember conservatives are much more likely to hide their true political opinions from public view. The presumption is that this includes from pollster if it's live on a phone call and this bears out in the methodologies. So a new poll in Arizona Has Martha mcsally, the incumbent Republican senator who was appointed by Governor, Doug Ducey. She is down five points where she was down nine points and a similar poll previously. Speed look at. Oh, predictive trendline since December, it follows what we'd basically know to be true that trump was ahead at the end of last year and pre pandemic. Then things got really bad. We know that no one is denying it, but the race is tightening in the president's favor. Republican plus two in December to a low, of Democrat, plus nine and plus in May, and now it's improved for trump to Democrat plus for for now. And, now, here's a new promising poll that shows trump is beating biden conducted by Rasmussen pulse opinion in the State of North Carolina. The poll of Seven, hundred, fifty likely voters shows the president beating Biden by a single point when leaners are included. So we can cherry pick polls and there some polls that show trump down in some of these states. But the enthusiasm index is definitely in the president's direction. I think there. There, are some major issues here that are missing from the conversation. If the president can continue to show significant gains when it comes to the Chinese Corona, virus get college football back on the airwaves I think this is how his election lose I? Think he's going to have massive gains and I think the more the president is ahead of the curve on the issue of the economy and law and order the better.
Arizona Senator asks Congress for extension of unemployment benefits
"Eyes on the economy. Washington D. C's dysfunction and Bickering is alive and well in Arizona Senator Martha McSally calling out of colleagues for not reaching agreement on the latest Corona virus relief bill. With a $600 federal unemployment benefit expiring today make. Sally wants an extension simple seven day extension of the extra $600 a week week for for unemployed unemployed Americans Americans while while we we work work through through our our differences differences on on how how to to move move forward forward President President Trump Trump also also in in favour favour of of the the temporary temporary extension. extension. Democrats Democrats want want to to keep keep the the $600 $600 payments in place it through the end of the year. Republicans want it lowered to either $200 a week or 2/3 of lost wages. Governor Doug Ducey says Arizona will not step in to fill the gap for those who lose the $600 a week. Congress needs toe act. This is on Congress. Arizona is doing its part, the federal government has to do their part. Without the federal boost unemployed Arizonans received $240 a week. It's one of the lowest weekly payouts in the country. No surprise to the Treasury Department that America's gross domestic product or GDP, retracted by nearly 33% in the second quarter of this year. Blame the Corona virus, but going forward, the administration is really focused on trying to get another piece of legislation through that's focused on release and rescue, Assistant Treasury Secretary Monica Crowley tells our Mike broom head. Consumer confidence is rising in jobs air slowly coming back. But she says states must reopen carefully based on Covad, 19 spread, so you're not getting across the country, a uniform public health situation or a uniform economic situation. That can help you get through this crisis. Senator Mc Sally how you doing? I'm fine mark. I hope you're well I'm great how what's going on in Arizona? What's open? What isn't? Well I know your listeners are going to be. Dallas but we are basically open. people are allowed to work and worship and hike and go to restaurants and I've gotten my haircut I've gotten a pedicure and the restaurants and trying to support local businesses to be able to get through this well. We still protect the vulnerable support our healthcare workers. We can do both. Yeah. Hey, now let me ask you about. Your book is to fly in everybody should. There's a lot of great lessons. Every should look at on how to get through something how to fight through something how to stay tough mentally, and you were a decorated fighter pilot where you're up there all alone for a lot of people loan a quarantine. Give some hint some tips on getting through this mentally on how to stay tough. Absolutely well, you can go to dare to fly dot us. You could get the book there, but I also want to hear your stories I can be inspired every day right now we need. Free other for each other i. just say we never fly solo. I've in the Warthog. It's a single seat plane. No two seat models, no simulators when I went through training, but we always fly in combat with somebody on our wings, so even though you're isolated in their cockpits, you have that wingmen with you. It provides the person provide mutual support house. You have courage to deal with your fair. Share stories about by combat missions and canyons and Afghanistan. I also share stories about taking off the first time in eight ten warthog and I just tried to get practical lessons that I think people need right now more than ever about how to get through this overcome their own fear how to get over some of the struggles they have about how their life and their plans for twenty twenty seven detoured. Detours in my journey, and it found me on a path where I could still achieve my dreams and my potential, but I had persevered I had I had not get a chip on my shoulder for things that were unfair that I couldn't control I had he'll awful things like? And I had to choose to do things afraid so I talk about the first time it took off. With the engines roaring and I just felt like I was gonNA. Throw up and I was afraid just like you could imagine and I could've talked me back in, or I could have pushed stuff, the engines and taking off afraid and that's what I chose to do. Reach back to other experiences in my life spill that fear, and also the encouragement of others, and I think that's what people need right now. They're just simple lessons here about how to persevere how to find your faith how to overcome your own fear, and the barriers in your life, and be able to above the cloud there to fly dot us. Yeah Hey, but just explained one thing book, which is really an important tip. It's not look at the big. It's take it one hour at a time. Explain how you do that. So I've had a Lotta experiences whether it's this firefighters, also I've done a lot of endurance sports and I think about just mentally so much of our barriers. Our mental and I think those are listening to think about what are the mental barriers you have right now for you to be able to break through as I was doing endurance sports I. Don't sit at the starting line of of a ironman triathlon and say oh my gosh. I can't get to the twenty fifth mile. At the end of the you think about okay. How am I GONNA?
