"Seven hundred wwl. W welcome back. Ken Rue proud to be with you on these Sunday mornings. Well the rookie minicamp was what last weekend, the regular mini campus. Coming up here just a couple of weeks. And then finally, we'll get out of underwear football and into real football when the Bengals open training camp in late July. I don't know what how you feel about this, but I need to see a player that they drafted in full regalia. See whether or not he can play football and not be consumed with what he can do on a forty yard dash or you know what he's doing in coverage against another guy that's in his underwear to mow to me. A lot of that is just teams eyeball players. Get to know players and see if the guy they drafted as anything except as build. So I become real interested in the NFL and what's going on with teams on just several days in the off season free agency the star that the draft obviously. And then when the camp open, and we can see these guys doing what football players are supposed to do. There have been plenty of people that have been workout freaks and you get them on the field and they don't know whether or not football is blown up or stuff. So with all of that said at understanding what all of these teams have done since the end of. Season. I continue to wonder whether or not those who say the Bengals will be at the bottom of the AFC north looking up if they're really and truly being fair to this team. Or if we here in Cincinnati, have a different view of the Bengals since simply, because it's the hometown team where exactly is Cincinnati at this point in relation to the Browns and the Steelers and the ravens searched for opinion, often find opinion through people that understand football better than just about anybody. I know including me, one of whom is Dallas Robinson, one of the many people that support the website rights with a website, NFL rumors dot com. No, actually he writes for the website. I think what the website really does when it comes to pro football and rumors is keep an eye. Not just on what every other team is doing, but whatever other team may be up to. That's why like pro football rumors dot com. That's why we like having data's Robinson on with us from the acute hearing centers dot com hotline. Let's welcome Dallas back to seven hundred wwl w and Cincinnati Dallas. How are you on this glorious day? I'm great. How are you? I'm well again, I don't know if you heard my T up here, but, I mean, all of this stuff that's been going on at the combine rookie, minicamp OTA's, and now the minicamps coming up. It's all well and good. You can see what players I guess have learned but I never convinced in any season until I see football players. Dress like football players actually playing football games. And that would be the preseason games the, to me get to that. And then I'll know whether or not any of these guys that have joined teams in the off season are really additions or addition by subtraction. Am I just a grumpy old man. Or is that the way it should be? Questions right there to question into grumpy. I think you're right. I mean, we spend months and months and months speculating free agency. What's going to happen in the draft? Let's take every measurement of every draft eligible player, let's project what they can do the day. We don't really know. And you look at the Bengals I mean they've got an all new coaching staff. I think we have some idea of what they're gonna look like on offense. Try to correlate the Bengals staff to what the Los Angeles Rams. Did you can kind of get an idea of what they might look like really don't have much of an idea what they're gonna do kind of an unknown? We don't really know what they're seeing gonna look like bursar guys are gonna play. We get into training camp. We're getting to the Prec get a look at the guys and give us a little bit. What the come everybody, it seems both in the journalistic world and those that route seem to be in love with Cleveland. And what Cleveland did last year in the additions. They've made this year most notably Odell Beckham junior. I'm just wondering free kitchens had that team for about a half a season Baker Mayfield was the store on that team for about a half a season. And although they played much better than when Hugh Jackson, had his hands on that team. I'm just. Cleveland being oversold at this point, or do you think that, that is the team in the AFC north this year? The team. It's not only because I think they've met a lot of great improvements to the roster. But I think the other team taking a little bit of a step back. So you've got the Browns at Yale guiding Odell Beckham junior. They've added guys like Vernon line Sheldon, Richardson. Traded up to draft squared greedy Williams in the second round of the draft address roster. They're still look and see. They're not great offense of line is kind of a question, Mark. They traded away. Kevin Zeitler to the giants. They are going to have an unknown second round pick from last year. Austin Corbett filling in guard it got Greg Robinson anybody. Members was just awful. Second overall just never really been great area of concern. But I got a lot of depth that a lot of good positions Baker Mayfield. Think he proved last year that he is franchise quarterback. No question. I think all the dishes, they may just combined with vision. Now, they're probably the team you mentioned that everybody else in the division seems to have taken a step back. Baltimore lost a lot of high profile guys on defense. I'm not sure you can fill me in as to what is, is there in the wake of that I'm just wondering if you look at Baltimore, and you look at Pittsburgh, which lost Antonio Brown, and I don't know how much gonna miss Levy on bell didn't have last year. James Connor seem to fill in pretty pretty well for him which of those two teams Baltimore and Pittsburgh has taken the biggest backward in this off season. I think Baltimore has I think they lose a ton of guys on defense Thomas, you can't go wrong there. No. But they, they lost a ton of guys and they really didn't add onto their offense. They drafted marquee round the first round as a wide receiver. Nine hundred seventy pounds able to compete first year in the AFC north Jackson didn't put season at all. I they promoted Greg Wellman to offense coordinator, he's been able to orchestrate amazing rushing attacks his career. That's great. I think a lot different than any other team, but rushing is just not as official passing the ball in any way, shape or form, if you're having to rely during tire. The ball. Don't really have the highest hopes. Baltimore's probably going to be near the bottom of the division. Pittsburgh. I think has a lot of high quality talent. They just gone through so much drama over the off season. I wonder if that almost gives them a chip on their shoulder to say, hey, this is still our division. Would still put Cleveland up at the top. The ravens, I guess, a at least for this point Gus Edwards is there is there lead back their offensive line? It is, it's better than it's better than okay? It it's approaching good Marshall Yanez getting up in age and a got Ronnie Stanley, you know, again blows hot and cold. But again, I'm looking at the wide receivers they have Willie Snead Chris more on the on the other side of it. You've got I don't know who else you got on the other side of it to be honest with you. I don't see a standout number number three number four there. It looks like they're almost going to adopt the Bengals philosophy, which we'll get to second and that is run, first and then throw because I'm with you. I don't think the more Jackson proved any game last year. You can throw the ball downfield with any accuracy. No not. Really? And they signed Mark Ingram away from the Saint to help out the backfield. So he's probably gonna get some run. Orlando Brown the fairground last year. He played really, well at right, tackle you mentioned Stanley line, look at any metric around brushing, expected points, added anything, it's so less efficient. You just really can't Bill an offense that just focuses on the run in twenty nineteen you have to be able to pass the ball. I just don't feel they're going to be able to do that. Don't really have any other that you mentioned. They've got. I know their owner was talking, Chris more recently. Proven anything. Outside not about them. Yeah, I'm with you. I mean, I think Ingram will help carry the load there but and then, you know, again, I this is a is a big tight end league. And I know they got Nick boil out there at tight end is their lead tight end. But let's move on to Pittsburgh. This is a team that regardless of what happens to it. They always seem to have an answer. Okay. No Antonio Brown anymore. So we'll have to see exactly who they gravitate toward to that, downfield threat, juju Smith Schuster, is going to get an inordinate amount of attention now with Brown gone. But yet again, I kind of think if on the Steelers on back to where maybe the ravens the Bengals are I may be a run. I, I know that's crazy because rothlisburger and that offense can average thirty eight a game, maybe Antonio Brown but I may be back to that run. First auction of Pittsburgh. Figured passage as much as anybody. J Moncrieff wide receiver. He's been. Over the years played for Napoli Jacksonville last year, never really produced, but, you know way of getting wide receivers in their system and they bloom into something that they've never done before. You never know they still have Washington from. They drafted by year. Yeah. I can see them going run. I actually think games Connor might not get as many carries this year. Jalen channels last season. They drafted here. Yeah. Committee or anything. But I wouldn't be surprised if he's not, you know, the number one, go to back. Wine in Pittsburgh. A lot of good at a lot of good at a lot of places important positions. I kind of worry about their secondary. A little bit, a they added Steven Nelson chiefs cornerback, but they don't have a ton of great talent back. They're still a great seven traded up to get Devin Bush players. I think Bill definitely be in contention. Yeah, I do too. I you mentioned their offensive line. I think it's a, it's a terrific offensive line and maybe a question market, right tackle. I don't know. But I think they have depth than they have decent options below. What they haven't offensively. I I'm with you. I worry about that secondary. They've gotten already burns out of a starting role, which I mean I think you could have started from last year and burns and they still have Joe Haden. Get a little long in the tooth. I'd be shot that they weren't challenging the Browns for the top spot in the AFC north. I really would be. But let let's chatting right now with Dallas Robinson, who is the guru at pro football. Rumors dot com and we're talking about the AFC north and how it's changed since the end of last season through free agency in the draft. Let's move on to Cincinnati. It's evident what Cincinnati is going to do..

And I you know there are a lot of people say, what are you gotta throw person in this league to win. Well, maybe you do, but when he Joe mixon, who lead the AFC in rushing last year, despite missing two games and you've drafted an offensive, tackle and tight end. One two in your draft this past year. It's, it's no shock. What they're going to run the football. Right. I think you're right. I mean, everything coming out of Kansas. That's what they've said. We're going to run the ball. And yet. It's not the most efficient way to go. But I think there's. It can work. I think they're trying to improve their offense of wine. It's anybody's guess. When they up drink week one. I think what they're going to have to do is run..

"Bradley bozeman and James Hurst their center, Matt Scherzer is also pretty awful. He's been getting picked on quite a bit lately, really Marshall Yanez the best piece in that line. He's very good at right guard. And there I think they're right. Tackle was pretty vulnerable in Orlando Brown junior guy that neither one of us cared for much in the draft. And they took him in the third round. And I think they're vulnerable all up and down that line with the exception of Janda. And I think they have one I think the charters had several good match ups. You know, I think you look at various Filon. He struggled a little bit early in that game in the first game in week sixteen because they had him on the right side of the offense of line, and he was mashed up head to head with Marshall yadda quite a bit and yadda and skirl were double teaming him, and he was struggling but about midway through the second quarter Gus moved into the left side of the offensive line. And he started just eating the left guards lunch. I mean, he was killing them and skirl couldn't block him bozeman and Hearst couldn't block in. It was a nightmare. So I still don't think they have an answer for file on. I think that's a really great matchup. I think the pieces are there for the charges to be able to drive those interior linemen back into into Jackson's lap. Like we talked about. And I think there are some vulnerabilities tackle too. I think even though Stanley's played pretty well. He shows some vulnerability to incite counters, in my opinion, he can beat around the edge both Stanley and Orlando Brown junior in my opinion bay struggle with nickel blitzes you send multiple rushes at them. And they both kind of get confused and they struggle. So I think there are ways to get after Jackson in key situations there by confusing there tackles and sending multiple rushers, but I think this game where you're probably gonna see. More four and five type five-man type pressure packages. Dropping more guys back and trying to confuse Jackson. Yeah. I got a little bit different opinion on the office of line. I think you're right about the interior. I think they're very susceptible in the middle. I don't think the tackle plays. All that bad. I thought Ronnie Stanley set a pretty good year the games we watched. And I thought Landau Brown was much better than expected. I also didn't think he was very good coming out of the draft. So take that for what it's worth. But you know, watching them I didn't think he was all that bad in going back to that game in week sixteen. It didn't seem like they're a ton of pressure coming out. Lamar jackson. I thought their run game was pretty good. I think they get some pretty good push up front. The run game pass blocking. I think there are some weaknesses for shirt on paper. I think there are some really good match ups. Like, you talked about dairies Filon Joey Bosa moment Ingram on either end is obviously a good matchup. I think you're right. I think they do drop a little bit more zone. They rush five. I don't think. Gets too aggressive only because of how slippery Lamar Jackson could be. And you don't want to send too many guys leave too many holes open. So, you know, obviously, this defense of lines got a winner matchups. They got to stay disciplined collapse that pocket we talked about interior pressure. Hopefully, close the walls in on him on Lamar Jackson be it's more. It's more to stay disciplined close walls and get interior pressure than it is send the house and get him quick pressure on the Mark Jackson. So when when we're talking about getting pressure on the Mark Jackson. It's not hey, man, sender when and Dez off the edges because you'll be in trouble, then because he can have his quick read, and he'll be okay. And then you know, if anybody's out of line, then he's gone for twenty plus yard. So it's all about staying disciplined, hopefully closing the walls and on the edges from Bosa Ingram. Filon Crain's interior pressure on Lamar Jackson. Yeah. I agree with that. So let's let's go ahead and talk about some of these keys for the charter defense. All right. Well, I think. Obviously, you know, they're going to be run heavy and they're not looking to put the ball in the air too much..
