"Let's go cussing the all-time great receivers in the NFL. TERREL Owens wanted to make it clear that he should be at the top of the list. Teo said he was one of the best athletes to ever play the game mm-hmm and discussing the best to ever play the game. You should start with Jerry. Rice himself and Randy Moss and then go from there so Shannon. Do you agree. I agree with you one thousand percent correct and I made it abundantly clear. I love the top three guys and I believe the top three guys Jerry Rice Jerry by himself and then you know people like okay. I T oh randy I got in front of Randy and I thought ready to had an unbelievable career. I was happened to be in the league with a lot of these when these I gather in the league and so got an opportunity to see them up close and follow their careers once. I left the game but rendered the seconds receiver a grandy. Te'o is the second greatest receiver Hubert ever play. Nobody ran with more rage. Nobody played harder on the feel. The terrel Owens. How do you get past? Ask a man tells you I play hard what I want to. How do you get past? That is give I think was randy went to New England. It cleaned his image. Amy Jump a lot because remember. He laid it. Down on the raiders. He laid it down. They trade him. If I'm not mistaken. The third rounder to New England. Two thousand nine he had thirteen does now. Over twelve hundred yards or gave into the twenty two seasons. Can't tell people on what happened. They traded you. Tom Brady happened. Know what happened. No he got he got there in two thousand and seven. Oh wait when they trade. I'm sorry I thought you talking. When he got to new hello in two thousand nine? He had thirty twelve hundred yards thirteen touchdowns four games into the twenty cent ten season. They traded him back to Minnesota Seven. Four Games a month. They released him. You see this notion that t oh a lot of they have to do with skip bayless because he named the man nicknamed the man team obliterate her but randy was just reading mood. The fan that Green Bay. Everybody forgot about that. Always show with T. O.. Doing sharpies -til cheerleaders -til open his off the owned a star in Dallas. But everybody forget that redheads in some of these same issues he did. That rand did not play hard all the time and he said that some off field issues terrel never had but that got that got wiped away that could somehow that guy wife away that didn't diminish what Randy did on the field because he was unbelievable but it shouldn't diminish what Te'o on the field and I'm afraid afraid that when it came down to the voting for this talk one hundred skip. They use the they said they used the same guidelines and by the hall of fame will if that's the case what what did hall of Fame Change. When -til became available you can now factor in sidelines and the locker room? For the first time it made it abundantly clear for years and years and years you are not to consider what transpired off the field but the moment this man came up now you got a good opportunity consider that this is a joke. Keough with the Buffalo Li every was demand he beating T. A. Winter Cincinnati Chad Johnson was demand he had more catches. More yards would have got another five yard would have had another double digit Daffy the week thirteen fourteen. This joke is a job for him to all one hundred okay. If you don't like it you don't like it okay. Everybody's not everybody's Cup of tea but you can't deny the numbers you can't deny neither man production and all those coaches and all those media members and all those front office people that sat there and looked at this man career-wise demo date to say he's not one of the top ten receive with to play the game. Just totally ridiculous okay. I'll buy that premise. That terrible herald belonged in the top. Ten Ten yes in yet. They tried to honor every era. So they're going to be players that were even before me was giving the top one hundred. Okay trying to honored like I don't know if you remember crazy. Legs her do ranch remember before my time but again I've seen the grainy video and he was something for his day Don Hooks. Okay Don Hudson Don Maynard I can bear Edit Raymond Barre. That's a good one or Steve Larger who I love but but as better terrel a you hate me use the word vacuum Madonna vacuum. He's not not not in the hallway all way field anywhere. Okay I got it. What sticks in my craw is that Michael? Urban isn't in the top ten either and he to me I'm I'M GONNA get to my case in just a moment but to me. I can make a case that he was even more valuable than Jerry. Rice was and how I feel about Michael Irvin as the driving force of teams. That should have won five straight super bowls but did win three out of four right but the point is Michael. Irvin is suffering for the same reason and then some that the terrorists suffering on behavior misbehavior. Because Michael was often out of control off the football theater. I know all about that right. Michael Michael did get in the hall of fame despite all of the above. So when I'm trying to evaluate this I don't care about team obliteration anymore. I'm just talking. About how great were or you. This and then sticks in my craw even deeper is your contention that he was better than Randy Moss. I give you this. There were times randy just said Ed. I'm out but when Randy said I'm in he was way more in than terrel ever thought about being because he is on a whole `nother plane above terrel. You're alone I'm a to the Knox and now we're just doing pure football. This is not team. Obliteration this is not tearing apart a locker room. Whatever I don't care about that I care about WPRO? Duck shunt and if you look at it terrel led the League and drops once and he was top four seven times and I covered him in San Francisco. Go entrust me on this. He dropped a lot of big passes. The classic game was the big showdown with the Rams in two thousand one as the rams were on on their way to the super bowl that where they were beaten by bell check and braiding not put it in the order that you'd like Belichick and Brady the rams and the Super Bowl but they had a big showdown at candlestick stick. Part and terrel dropped four passes that day that were just crucial. Big Game Changing passes that he dropped and look it up because I was there in the locker room. He sat staring into his locker for forty five straight minutes and would not talk to the media which was fine with me but the point was he was devastated by that and when the pressure was on terrel could be mentally weak he could come apart. He could crumble psychologically under the biggest game pressure. And I'll never forget that one game which I attended and covered covered. It was in Jimmy's hometown of Minneapolis. And it was September. Twenty eighth of two thousand three and it was billed as terrel owens versus Randy Moss. So even though they weren't GonNa be on the field or not but it was. It was our study. These are the two zero one two two one. One Who's going to take charge randy. Moss just took the day over in. It was Specht I was left with jaw. Dropped at the into that right so he got thrown tin balls by Gus fraud. WHO's not all famer? Ten in balls caught eight for one hundred and seventy two and three touchdowns Jeff Garcia with a little help from Tim. Rotate through twelve balls. TERREL Owens caught five for fifty five and no touchdowns touchdowns Carol Owens wound up at the end of the game ranting and raving marching up and down in front of the coordinator Greg Knapp who was sitting weirdly on the bench right. Okay I remember. It's like classic footage of Taros just out of his mind back and four hastening and pacing and pacing then. He mounted soapbox literally in the Post Game Locker Room and Campaign for Jeff Garcia. WHO had made three straight pro bowls to be replaced by the backup Tim and it was ugly? And it just showed me when it's time to rise and really Sean. This Guy Randy Moss can rise in China as he did all through two thousand seven hundred. Eighty a tweet. This was before guys that a big play receivers that looked to get their hands on the ball and take off. They drop passes. If you look at Travis Kelsey look dropout rate compared to other tidiness. Because he's always looking to get the big play okay so he's going to give you a lot of jobs but he's always looking to get the big play. Julio is high up there will drop. Because he's looking to get big plays out of the prodigious. Don't remember Randy dropping a lot of key passes. I just don't know when you threw it in his vicinity. He's just GONNA. I'll look at it easily. It's always been like this no matter. What look at quarterback Tom Brady? And Peyton. Manning was never gonNA be able to say on the field at the same time but always brady versus manning is anytime you get two great players even if they played opposite position. That's what you'll get. Reggie Reggie and the eagles faced the giants Reggie versus. What need the woman's go block the other guy but you just wanted to see who's going to dominate the game? Correct a lot of that when the receiver skip it comes down to okay the court. Yeah Randy had the better day and I it can be frustrating. I remember when I was playing. Tidy the being colds or Tony Gonzalez. Who was in my division? I go to Romo. You let that guy showed me up Rome announced railroads. Don't you let that man show Yup. I'm not on the field but I'm looking to do my thing and Teo is four straight like man y'all letting guy showed me up. y'All can't stop him WTMA something and here I am I. Here's crumbling. They W me which I won't double him because what skill look t os never gonNa be in anybody's cup of tea. Yeah he's a motor. There's a thing that happened to any in his life that he hasn't gotten past that may have production since I should I I give you that. There's no way I'm with you. He belongs on this list. Yes which brings me to Michael Irvin you have no. I covered him all those years. He was the playmaker nickname for a reason. And if I just compare his numbers his career years ninety one ninety eight eight versus Jerry. Rice's like this is what I'm big on receptions. For first downs Michael had five thirty one to juries four sixty seven head to ahead over those years just fourth quarter receiving yards a thousand thirty for Michael Irvin eight sixty eight for Jerry Rice. Just he was. He was choice toys. Guy Like when in doubt eight through eighty eight. That's just what it just kept happening and remember. This was a run. Based Emmett Smith driven offense. They ran the ball. So you can't do Michael's big picture yards vs Jerry's because he played in the West Coast and if they skip if you look at Everywhere T. O.. UINN even if they have a number Wa- receiver there. He took it over. Remember they let Jerry go because Teo production same came so great. They couldn't keep him. He went to Buffalo Lee Evans was the number one. I the way I'll never forget another game I covered at the Chicago Bears Jerry Rice Day candlestick park and because the bears went in with the game plan. We're going to triple team him US up. And what Tarot Kyoko the record the time Brandon Marshall Mile Brandon. Marshall have broken at twenty one against India okay but also Tara was blessed. He can't sort of appreciate this this but think about where he got to play he got to play in Mary. You Choose West Coast offense with Jeff Garcia. Made three pro Steve Young. Okay Star Steve. Young me neither listen. You won't talk about prolific. Look at what Jeff Garcia Tara. Tara was half the bar like the navy went to Andy Reid. Boy I in Philly skill Andy Reid. You see what he's doing with moms right and then he got to go to Tony Romo right in the heart of his prime when they are they. Were pass crazy crazy. And they're all making pro bowls. Donovan made six pro bowls. Tony made four. Jeff made three. He's getting a play with big time for the backs and when they left when Teo level how many they go to lift. Well I don't know the oke didn't matter where he win pro both followed. You notice that Jedi here l.. He's such a team. Obliterated he left coordinators back in the game win. The ones who is okay. Dallas cowboys says he'll do well. Then how do you explain that the Philadelphia Eagles won two playoff games without him and then they got after the Super Bowl and played the Patriot league play on the field..

"A now, it's it's not as sort of relevant. I like this question from eight year old Magnus writes in why don't you dunk during the game? First of all, I know for a fact, I don't wanna I don't wanna ruin this for the listener. But I know for a fact that some of these questions aren't actually from Reno's Agnew's, I have Email bring her staff comes up with these magnet. Just right here. We'll show you. This Email Magnus is a fictitious eight year old and you've got a burner Email address. I I'll be honest with you first of all the reason, I don't I've never really dunk two games because it takes up too much energy. And number two. I I can't dunk that well anymore. There's just not even warm ups. You're not because you're talking more used to all the time even like earlier this year. But then you get to a point. I remember when my first game with Milwaukee and warm ups, I dunked in in in the line and Mike was probably close to my age. Now, he's probably thirty three. Mike dunleavy. And he looked at me. And he goes, oh, you're one of those guys. And I'm not sure what he meant by it at the time. But now, I realized just like stop we'll tell C now we're talking about this. Is there a is there an element of? It's like the upside versus downside. You know that like if you do it we're going, oh, that's cool like JJ dunked. But if you try to do it, and you blow it especially now with the house highlights and everything like that. Like, it's going to be a rough forty-eight hours, whether or not your social media are you talking about trying to dunk in a game and failing. I think the two points to me or to valuable if I ever had any doubt. I wouldn't even try try. Yeah. I wouldn't even try. I'm also at the like, I'm at the point in time in my life. Where like listen the environment has to be perfect. My steps have to be perfect. It's just happening on Sunday. Sunny, Duncan coli, I've not really allowed to go to the offensive boards. I'm what's called a get back guy. There's go guys and get back is and get back. But I would love like my dream has always been just catch went off the ramp. The follow up just to follow dunk. That's always been just flex on whoever. It is you just. Yeah. It's going to happen before you retire. This'll happen once the haven't once if we're going to put it in. We'll put it in in in Springfield. Do you wanna go on YouTube and Google JJ Redick dunk, Atlanta? Hawks two thousand eleven. Relook that everybody's video evidence of my leaping ability. Ryan Faulkner addict this question as someone who was at the away Minnesota game and chanted not on Twitter. You afterwards. I have a couple of questions. Philadelphia gets a bad rap among fan bases. What is your experience been with Sixers fans, and then to and this is definitely feel like a loaded question for you. What is the strangest chant you've ever heard either directed at you or just general at a game for some context here. There was a large contingent of Philadelphia. Seventy Sixers fans at our game in Minnesota towards the end of the regular season. They hung around afterwards. I'm not sure which person gave them a four hundred passes postgame passes. But it was literally a late game was I don't even know. Yeah. It was like March thirty time. Zinni? Why would you go to Minnesota anyways? After the game. I come out. And and I think it was like I think maybe because it was Robert Covington and Dario FO's first game against this may be because they were like talking to the crowd. Yeah. Expense loves us to. Yeah. And then TJ came out and TJ started doing like, you know, rocky style fist-bump send Mike faked air boxing, and they were going crazy. And then I was like trying to have a conversation with my aunt who only get to see once a year. And then they started chaining not on Twitter at me, which was a very odd chant. You're a good thing was not onto is that you like chaining other things they could channels you that's supposed to be negative at all of this. This is the Sixers. This is my own team who if it is negative. Why are you chaining negative? We just won the game. Besides Joel on the team is really on Twitter. I it's not like the rest of the team was like sitting there doing like Twitter. There's like two guys on Twitter, and it's like Joel and Jared Dudley. Like, there's no other NBA players over the on Twitter, man. What was the question again? Well, there's two there's what's your experience? Overall, Sixers fans and the second one is just what's the strangest chant you've heard not necessarily year. But just in general, I've never been booed by my home crowd before until this year. Like personally booed. You know, when you when did you get booed? I think it was like three times. The first time was the warriors game at home. I was at that game. Yeah. During that game doesn't go. Yeah. I personally got booed. The second time was or the third time was game one of the Brooklyn nets series. And then there was another time before that. But look I had like four or five of my worst games, maybe my career, but definitely the season within like a three or four week period. I remember Chelsea would was like, right? When I signed it was like, right when we first came down to Philly, and I think like it was like are Uber driver or taxi driver. Somebody was like he's gonna get booed at points. Like, that's just how our fans are. I would take that just like having a soul and having feeling over just a general sense of apathy, you know, whatever just just not caring. I think our fans have been amazing game three and you'll see this on Sunday for game four game. Three was their crazy loud as I've heard an NBA arena. And and look I'm not. I don't know when this podcast is coming out today. Oh, it's coming out today. Great. So to all the Philly fans that are coming to the game. You realize is that it's Cinco de mayo. So I would have just encouraged drinking early to start drinking early come and make as much noise as possible and give us give us that home crowd advantage. Chad treat rights aside from Seattle what city or market would you most like to see get an MBA t if the NBA decided to expand Austin, Texas. It's good answer. We're talking about that earlier. Awesome would be that would be immediately go to top five eighty destination, of course. But you couldn't have Texas you, but you'd have to move one in the next to you can't have four teams in Texas for sure move, the Spurs to someone told me, and I don't know if this was true or not now, I shouldn't even say this because it's just speculation. But I feel like somebody said that one point the Spurs were thinking about moving there arena to like halfway in between Austin and Senator Marfo it's a little fun. Oh, it's like west ESTES. He's like new braunfels or bastrop. Where's it? It's a horrible. It's a truly horrible idea. So here's the thing. We have talked about this before the fried, and it's four or five years ago when we were like I moving to Austin, or I guess it was like six years ago when we first moving to Austin, and I was like, well if I play in San Antonio just make the drive, you know, it's like an hour. Fifteen an hour and a half at she was like that's insane. You're not doing creating why would you ever make it you ever you? Sure. I've to go over an hour to practice every day. That sounds nuts who would do that. And now doing it. You know, our forty five hours and easier drive from Austin, San Antonio, definitely. It's a pretty straight shot not Google map that. Many times. It's very close. That's a good. What if that's a that's you had? A good time blankets Adonia to I had the opportunity the the summer, we moved there are, you know, they they it was like they had said like what you know. We'll do the mid level it what was that two thousand thirteen. Yeah. I think they ended up getting Marco who was great for him. The first time around. He obviously wanted championship could for him Marshall miles rights, you think teams can turn it on for the playoffs. How much is a regular season really matter. Yes. I think teams can turn it on. I think the regular season definitely matters for number of reasons. Number one gives you homecourt advantage, or you know, you play on the road number two gives you an opportunity to play basketball, which is always find like I can't imagine just being like, hey starting starting playing and we're just gonna do the playoffs is going to the playoffs. Unless I I also like I like the narrative that can form around a team player, and it's fun sort of to use stats to. Pair guys over different historical eras. It's fun to to look at a players growth from his third year to a six year. And if all we had was very very small sample size of the playoffs. And you know, we wouldn't really get the opportunity to to really witness greatness with such with such frequency do. I think there's an element of cruising during the regular season. Maybe I think you know, when you get to the playoffs, you realize the playoff games are so much more exhausting because you're just more locked in every possession as a little bit harder. You add that possession. All those possessions up over thirty or thirty five minutes of playing time. And you know, you get done and you feel like you played a fifty three minute overtime game by Chelsea. She's got she's got to go take care of the Chelsea Israel, real responsibilities. She there's a my third year we were playing I don't know why she just brought the story up my third year. You're talking about the Philly crowd. I think that's why she wants to bring this up my third year. When I was of the magic we were playing Philadelphia in the first round. There was this guy that was sitting courtside next to our bench and for game three was the first game there because we had home court game through his first game there so game three. He just keeps. Yelling at me keeps yelling at me. And I'm not really acknowledging him then we get the game four and he's yelling at me. Finally sometime in the second half a game for this guy. Been literally yelling at me for two straight games. All he'd been yelling J J J me. And I look over. And he makes like what's the Jay Z triangle rock the rock? Yes. So he makes like an inverted Jay z the rock signed close to his his groin area. And he he mouths to me. He china.

"By. Lisa flagging. Stephen flag. The brethren sister of Eric garner. Eric garner was killed in two thousand fourteen when a New York police officer wrestled him to the ground and apply to fatal chokehold while garner said I can't breathe eleven times. This is democracy. Now, I'm Amy Goodman with one gun solace. Well, we turn now I to Sacramento, California where protests continue more than a week after the county's district. Attorney announced to police officers who shot and killed twenty two year old unarmed African American Stefan Clark in his grandmother's back yard last year will not face criminal charges. The two police officers initially claimed Stefan Clark was holding a gun when they shot and killed him in March of two thousand eighteen but later admitted they found only his cell phone nears body after officers unleash twenty bullets into Clark. They waited for over five minutes before approaching him to administer medical attention. Nearly a year. After the fatal shooting inspired massive, civil unrest in Sacramento and across California. Attorney general heavier Seta also announced his office will not file charges news that the officers will not be charged has sparked massive protests across Sacramento with walkouts at local colleges and high schools demonstrations at the city council and ongoing occupation of Sacramento police station, Diane at UC Davis and a protest and one of the city's wealthiest neighborhoods that led to eighty four arrests. Protesters are demanding Justice for Stefan Clark and greater police accountability in Sacramento. This marks the thirty fourth consecutive police shooting review, and which Sacramento district attorney. Anne, Marie Schubert found the officers acted legally this according to the Sacramento bee. Well, for more we go to Sacramento where we're joined by berry access, founder of voice of the youth in a Sacramento community activists. Very welcome back to democracy. Now talk about what's. Happening right now in what you're demanding. Thank you for having me back on. It's a pleasure. Unfortunately, with the circumstances that we have right now on we're in a difficult place in the difficult situation right now with Sacramento, we're just responding to the DA's decision to not charge officers something that we all knew what's going to happen. But I think what has highlighted or frustration, and our anger and disappointment is the fact that how she criminalized Stefan Clark was the victim of this heinous murder or this assassination. So the fact that she decided to put stuff on Clark on trial for his own murder was something that I think is high in the response from the community. Well, and it was not just heard decision. But also the announcement by best as well at the state level that there would be no action. There was actually a Bill passed Senate Bill fourteen twenty one that requires disclosure of internal investigations regarding police shootings, and it was and it was it was passed as a result of the Stefan Clark of killing. And it was also supposed to be retroactive. So why has declined to release information in the investigation of stuff on Clark? Well, I think they all sleep in the same bed. If you ask me when the DA decided, not to press charges, and lamented the idea that Stefan Clark was a criminal. Remember, he was vandal. So that's why he died and he got executed. You didn't really expect as a community that the AG will do anything different. I think that was a lot of tough talk about what he was going to do moving forward to get the votes. And when it was time to show improve. He showed us exactly who he was. And what he was about. So it wasn't surprising. Again. The surprising notion was how they have paid this young man who got murdered. This young man was a father of two was a criminal toxicology report, the idea that his relationship with the mother of his child had anything to do with his murder trying to create this criminal element in the real criminals are still on our streets being police officers currently to this day, tell us what you understand happen, Barry, it's almost been here March eighteenth at Stefan Clark was gunned down. In his grandmother's backyard. What are you understand happened? I mean, I understand that the police made a grave mistake, and the unfortunate part about it all is. When do we hold police accountable? When do police officers actually, say are bad our mistake, and instead of doing that create the criminal element of every time they go after alleged suspect. Here's the thing that they painted they painted this young man was a criminal and to me when you look at it as as I just visited uh, Stefan, Clark's, demise. In the backyard of his grandparents house, the young man had no opportunity. No chance you had a helicopter that was moved by the sheriff. That was giving the instructions to the PD that was on ground. They gave all bad information. So the miscommunication before both entities has kind of led to the deficit fallen Clark. So the idea of it one time the thing that they alleged was a gun was a toolbar then was a cell phone. And ultimately, they try to play that it was a gun it lead to his demise. So it's more of the same kind of business here in Sacramento. And what's happened afterwards? Is you've had the defa Brandon Smith you had to death of Daryl Richards as well as the death of Marshall miles. So when we look at Sacramento, and all we haven't really heated the words or of the people or having looked at the end result of excessive force used by police. I wanted to ask you about the police chief of Sacramento Daniel Hahn, he's promised a separate internal investigation into the actions of the police officers. He's a he's an African American police chief what has been his role, and do you have any whole that anything will be done even at administrative level to hold these officers responsible? Well, one of the officers that kill cellphone Clark was African American. The idea of an African American chief to be the hero of the community. It's nice in theory. But the reality is he's under a shield and that shield is blue. So when we look at Han, we hope that he does the right thing. But in the letter of law for police the letter of law protects the police for doing a heinous act like this, and the unfortunate part the letter of the law hasn't changed since eighteen seventy two and when you think about eighteen seventy two and you think about the origin of police in seventeen four as slave catchers, aka the slave patrol. You got to really understand where we're at right now right at eight hundred seventy eight excuse me, eight hundred sixty five you can hold this is when the African American citizens were a led out of slavery. So when you think about the idea of what the origin of the police are and the idea that because of the shooting of Joe. Joseph man the resignation of summers. Or should I say the fact that some resigned allegedly you have chief haunt who comes in as a superstar because he used to be a part of this community. Again, a superstar coming this community doesn't mean that he's going to clean up the cultural policing and the culture policing not only in Sacramento, but throughout the country is deemed to be corrupt. So when that idea of corruption and racism, it's gonna be a hard piece for Daniel on to come in and do the right thing and the right thing only now is fire the officers at this point, we're not going to get a criminal conviction. So far the officers, so we wait patiently and not really worried about an investigation because we've been here for over a year. One more of an investigation. Are we going to have I don't think that the city of Sacramento as well as their phone Clark's family needs to go through the pain to kind of hear again that Stefan Clark was this step on Clark was that step on clog was a man step on Clark was a black man unarmed who got murdered at? His grandparents house. So what are you calling for right now? Barry, we're calling for fire. Absolutely. These officers cannot be in the community of Sacramento the firing of these officers need to happen immediately. And it's not only on chief on. It's also on our city management city manager holds most of the power the city manager, if he if you wanted to you could actually say that offers would have to go. But again, the letter of the law that kind of hold these officers in this way of protection, it makes it more difficult for them to kind of do the right thing as a humanity stamp. What you would think these officers whether it's a mistake whether they did it on purpose. They did something that they can no longer be in the community policing of the people in this community without the people in the community having distrust, and the whole lot of the things that these folks have been sailing unless for years and years is that we have to trust the police officers, and we are community. The new thing is we are healing. But how can you without Justice? Well, so these offers have to go immediately access. Thank you for being with us, founder of the voice of the youth and Sacramento. Will say one more thing we need to put a b three Ninety-two that is something a Bill that will change the dynamics of policing. It will hold police accountable for these heinous actions AB three ninety two. This is a Bill that we are pushing to make sure that police officers are held accountable, Barry, thanks so much for being with us. This is democracy. Now when we come back, we'll look at what's happening to Hampshire college. Stay with us. No name number three by Hampshire..
