"Saw it. Walk me through that one, DK. Walk me through that one. I know in the past year I would line up on his side and then motion away. So I just tried to give him a heads up like, I'm going over here in case you wanted to come over here and join me. I wanted him to follow me the whole game. Right, and how did he take that wave? How do you take that? He threw his hands on like, oh, you traveling again, you motion in the way again, but you know, I really didn't care. Just as long as he knew how I was feeling. Did he laugh at that at some point or no, not really? He didn't. No, I don't think you laugh. I don't think he took that as a joke. Was that a plan thing or are you just like, that just came out of you? Just like, hey, come on. In the moment, like I love it. I heard the play and I knew I would go motion away. So I knew as soon as Gino sent in motion, that's what I was that's how I felt. Like, come on, I'm on your ass all day. That's basically how I felt. That is, I don't think I've ever seen that. I don't think is that the first time you've ever done that. How about that? Okay. Okay. Walk me through the game winner too. The game winner for you. Last one. Yes, sir. What happened? You know, Gino Shane, the O line, everybody that was in that drive up, got us down to the 8 yard line. And that was a well executed on Shane's part on everybody else's part. That was Anna offense. I know marquise and Tyler called big passes to get down there out of line was blocking the AFL. And so Shane called a boot and he gave me alpha leverage. So I just took the inside route. Fought him off a little bit and then just threw my hand up because I wanted the ball. And touchdown. And obviously that's a dove that you needed. What's your relationship? I know what your relationship is. Let me rephrase that. You and Gino. And how you've been able to connect this year. It's not obviously your first rodeo. He's been on the team. But this is a big year for him. And he has been big this year. What have you seen from him? And you. I mean, I've seen everything translate from the practice field to the game field and to how he lives his life. He looks at this as a second opportunity, you know, to write his own story. And he's doing it exceptionally well with everybody supporting him around the building from coaches to staff members to players. And it's just a fun to watch because I know my rookie year he got here at the same time I did and just to see the growth that he's had learning from Russ learning some shoddy learning from Shane and every everybody else in the end of his own spice to the game. And how he carried himself is just been fun to watch. Have you been in contact with Russ at all? Lately? Yes, I talked to him Tuesday. Okay. And how often do you connect with your old quarterback? I talked to him at least once a week. Once a week, if you don't mind me prime, the nature of the conversation, what do you guys talk about? I mean,

"We'll see. There seems to be some mixed reporting, whether he'll be over or not. But I thought Cleveland did a good job of hitting some draft and stash some stuff. And I think about you is going to help them. The wing is the spa where they're lacking. And I think he's just kind of consistent and good. And how much upside there is left because he's already 22. But I just think he's a solid player. I think the biggest question mark for the Cavs coming out of this is what do you call the mobley's together? Like for example, we call curtain Linda rambus, the rambi and lane Laker land. Is it the bro please? Oh, I like that more. I like Bros, yeah. That works for me. Okay. All right. All right, moving on. That's my analysis of that thing. Well done. Thanks, Trevor. Trevor, everybody. I'll tell you right now. We're punchy. If you haven't. All right, the Dallas Mavericks Dallas didn't end up having any picks in the first round because they traded that pick in the Christian wood deal. That picked just a close the door and it ended up being one to more junior. The pick was traded Houston, then it was traded to Minnesota flipped. We'll get to it. We get to Houston in Minnesota. There, but then they did get themselves into the second round. And with a, I believe it was two future second round picks. They hopped in and they were the ones who picked up Jaden hardy out of the G league. And I like that for Dallas. I think that's a really nice upside. Swing for them early in the second round. Yeah. Agreed. That was the guy we thought that was going to be the Lakers pick because the clutch sports connection. But I think it's a good upside play for them. And in the second round, if you see a guy that you think has more value than is following, then absolutely if it costs you two future seconds to get it. Second round is kind of a crapshoot anyway. So if there's a guy there that you think can be a hit, it's worth two seconds to go, get them, and then bring them into your program and see what you got. Yeah, I talked to three different people that I talk to, where their teams had first earned grades on him. So I'm not super high, but they had first round grades in the 20s on him. And if you're getting him at 37, you've done one. Value for your school. So in there and obviously the Christian wood trade, we're not overlooking that, but we already broke all that down. You can find that. About a week ago, when that trade was made, but just the details on it. It's Christian wood, two Dallas, for Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, marquise Chris boba, Mariano, and then it was the 26th pick in the draft. Close the books on that one..

"Matthew penny, we have breaking news. We have an in draft trade. Wait, what? No, I know. Christian wood is going to the Dallas Mavericks. Wait, this is actually happened. I was just like, oh, no, this is actually happening. Yeah, this is not like a nasty, okay. I was like, I don't like this. I can't keep up. All right, so that's a positive pick. I feel great about that pick now. Awesome. Who do they get back? Don't tell me they got to pick and I have to scramble here. So according to Sean sharan, my colleague, over at the athletic, the Mavericks are sending bob and Mariano, which Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, marquise Chris and the number 26 pick to the rockets for Christian wood. 26 becomes. It's essentially 26 in salary ballast for Christian wood. Okay. I'm updating the 26 pick here. That's cool. All right, that's fun. I feel even better about Paulo. Just in the front court you needed more freedom to kind of explore that, they drafted usman garuba and Shen gun a year ago that clears out just more space, more minutes, more development and shows me that they're committed to this whole process too. It's not like we have to win right here right now. If you're trying to win right here right now, you probably hold on to Christian wood and run that as far as it can. Yeah, I love this for Houston. I think it's really smart. You get a number for you to first round pick for Christian wood. I think you've done well. Biggs on the market are difficult to move. And look, long time listeners of this show know that I am not in enormous Christian wood fan. I don't like guys who are non entities on defense. And he just does not give consistent effort on that end. Maybe putting him in a winning situation will actualize him in a real way that allows him to take advantage of some of the tools he has, like he is not a guy that is tool less defensively..

"Slightly get better. Hard to hate on someone who adds two new solid contributors to your defense. But last night, the packers did nothing to solve their biggest need, which is at the receiver position. Here are the guys that they watched get traded for or drafted last night. They sat by and watched as other teams made moves for these guys. AJ Brown, Marquise Brown, Drake, London, Garrett Wilson, Chris olav, jamison Williams, Jahan Dodson, trailer burkes, they just watched, like, you know what? We know we need a receiver, but we're gonna let 8 other receivers get traded for or drafted what we do nothing. They were all gone by pick 18. The packers first pick was 22nd overall. They could have traded up. They had too late first round picks if they wanted to trade up and get Jahan dots and I think would have been a great fit. They could have made that happen. But they refused to make a move. They're the passive packers. That's what I'm going to call them from now on. The passive Green Bay Packers, their quarterback has passive aggressive, their organization refused to make aggressive moves. All right. Sit there and watch. It's not compelling to me. That's the thing. It's not that the packers are bad or terribly run or all this stuff. But they're not compellingly run. When I watched Philadelphia trade for AJ Brown, if I'm an eagles fan, I'd be like, hell yeah, I love that. My team is making moves. Let's go. The jets made a move. The saints traded up to get their receiver they wanted. Sorry, sorry, the saints made a move to get the receiver they want to crystallize it. And the packers are just not compelling. Remember, Aaron Rodgers took their money. He chose to stay. Aaron Rodgers said, it's fine. He's like that meme or the world, you know, the house is burning around him. He's like, it's fine. I took $50 million. I chose money over winning. All right man, I hope you're having fun with no one to throw to. This is the true statement about the Green Bay Packers last night. They could have made they're not a victim, they could have made a move to go get a receiver last night, they chose not to. And I think they made their life a little bit harder. Hey, their defense is better. That's awesome. It's getting ready. I've always said, hey, who cares when you draft a receiver, you just need to get a good receiver, but there were good receivers out there last night..

So I knew I was going to have to move three or four all stars, future Hall of Famers. So I could actually do some ground early groundwork to get ready for that. But as you said, buster it's going to be crazy. I don't know how stringent they are on genomes, not talking to agents and not talking to players and not doing their work. We know we're talking about teams and money and reputations and a lot on the line here. People are working. They're just going about it a little bit more covertly and smartly. And I think the better ones will be ready when this ends and they'll be able to pull the trigger. Things will somewhat be in place. So certain people are going to are going to be impacted negatively because they weren't really ready. But I think for the most part, everybody's going to be ready and they're going to be able to do what they need to do in a short window of time. I'm glad you stayed in the obvious. You know, Major League Baseball has the rules is the lockdown and you're not allowed to talk to anybody. And I've actually had people say text me back and said, look, I can't talk, but then one day I got a phone call from a number I didn't recognize and it was, you know, front office person, I won't be more specific than that. It was calling me from his wife's cell phone. Because he was like, you know what? I know he can't talk, but I just want to and you know and I know that those type of things are happening, whether it's on a wife's cell phone or a mom's cell phone or an uncle cell phone to agents and a lot of those conversations are going to take place during this time, yeah. Well, and I heard throughout Major League Baseball, there was a major uptick in burner phones being bought. So I didn't really know if that's true buster. I think there might be some truth to that. But, you know, I just wish that he goes and power and the stuff that goes into people making bad decisions on both sides would they somehow find a way to figure out and do what's best for the fans. And everybody benefits when you can find some ground, you know, mutual ground to operate. There's plenty of money. I mean, seriously, come on, there's plenty of money available. For both ownership and for players. So I don't know. I get frustrated. I mean, I was frustrated at 95, 96, and, you know, so but we'll see what happens. So tell me when as you're making those trades of those star players, what was a really hard moment for you when you agreed to a deal? And you knew in your heart, you know what? This is not equal value for this player. I'm never going to get this type of talent back in return. If you can tell me some of those personal stories of those individual guys, John wetland. That was the biggest one. I mean, I broke down a crowd when I had to trade him. One, at that time, you traded him with the Yankees. He was your closer for people who know. MVP of the World Series the next year. And I got Fernando seg and all who was a big prospect and looked good on paper, but really didn't get what I should have got because people knew I had to trade them because the ownership told me to trade. And you get the best I could, which wasn't good enough, obviously. So but I remember telling John and colony and St. John, you know, and the players kind of knew that I was my hand was being forced to trade them. But it just turned out crowd with him because he loved Montreal. All these guys loved Montreal. They loved the team. They knew the potential that we had of not maybe only winning at 94, but winning it being in position to win it multiple years to win multiple championships. So just calling Johnson, hey, I've got a is there anything we can do? Let me talk to Claude brochu, the general partner of the owner at the time. What can I do? All these players were willing to even take class or to try to figure out because contrary to what a lot of people think, yes, most players do want as much money as they can get, but sometimes what's more important is being on the championship team. And being around guys that you like to enjoy playing with and you know you can win championships. So all those guys were willing to take less or to figure out some sort of way to make it work. But it just turned because I had gotten close to John and and you know marquise Chris amann was his first coach in Major League Baseball when he was like zero for 46 at Jamestown, New York, and he was thinking about Quentin and thinking, you know, he said Malone, I made a mistake. You know, he was struggling show up every day early hit off the teeth, self tossed. I mean, he'd do all the extra work. And when he broke out of his slump, he ended up hit like 360 three 80 that year in Jamestown and New York penly and going on went on to become an all star. And we reflect back on that. And then when I had to trade him to the brace, the team that we trade of facility with, I couldn't stand the braves. They were, you know, that was our number one competition. You know? And they were smug about it and they always were all worth the braves and you're the second class citizens from Canada. But when I had to trade him, and he helped them with a championship and in Atlanta. So, you know, I always try to do what's best for not only the organization, the team, ownership, but also for the players to make sure I put them in situations where they could go and have success. Yeah. You know, you always want to get the most you can for your players when you're making a trade. But I felt like I had a responsibility to the players and their families to put them into good situations where they would enjoy it. So sending marquise back to Atlanta where he was from, putting him on the brace. And then watching him beat me, you know, beat my teams in the future long. I mean, that was uncomfortable, but you know, the way I you're being nice, Kevin, I thought about as you were describing that in a passion, you are, that must have made you sick to see the braves when the World Series in 95. You know, I love John..

"The ravens plan to do before the season even began? Yeah, that's a great question. And I do think it's a combination of things. This is a team that's lost in the divisional round two years in a row. And they have not been able to make enough plays downfield to win in the playoffs. Things get tighter and teams honing on your weaknesses and take away a little of the run. They've not been able to get it done. They worked all off season on trying to become a more dangerous offense downfield that was not just the coaches. It was Lamar and the receivers and all that. And they knew they were going to have to be that offense. And that's what they've been working on. So we're seeing some of the results. But yeah, like you said, a lot of it's been necessity. I mean, they just haven't been able to control games with the running games like they have in the past. So I think in a sense, what we've seen now is a good sign that they've been able to win when people have taken away what they've done in the best. So, you know, if you're looking for a silver lining for them, not running the ball that well. They've been able to put this new passing game to the test. And as of now, it's past all the tests. While a passing game that really stood out and the next game that we want to talk about was Jackson's epic comeback performance against the colts and week 5, one of the criticisms that come up the most with Lamar Jackson is that he can't bring his team back from behind, and he obviously did that in the colts game. What do you think has been the difference for him in situations where he has to dig his team out of a hole like that? Yeah, and he has three comebacks in the fourth quarter of this year and that's something everyone said he couldn't do. You know, I think the improved personnel around him, their improvements that they're receiving core has really been a significant reason for that. Jackson for duvernay to catch in the first down gain of 15. This is a formation they love to get in three by one and you're gonna see the number three receiver just runs a crossing route and this is something you'll see. Marquise Brown run these routes, you'll see duvernay run it and duvernay has started to pick up his face. Nice throwing catch. You know, they went three receivers throughout that game down the stretch against the colts because they need to score quickly and that never was kind of a formation that they used to use because they were running team and they didn't really have the strength with the receivers to do that. Their ability to do that and put more talented receivers on the field has made them a more dangerous team down the stretch of games. Lamar loads up for Marquise Brown. Makes it look easy for 43 Greece. They go right over bothe keys for the touchdown. First, but you know, the biggest part is he's just in control of this entire offense. He's much more comfortable in those situations. He's confident in himself. And he is mechanics are better. It allows them to put the ball more places that could result in the ravens making big plays downfield. Lamar steps and throws finds Brown in a seam and he's down at the 12th game of 20. I think it's just natural and athletics until you start doing it on the consistent basis and bring the team back and you have proof of that. I think that's when people really start believing and you kind of take it a step further with the respect people have for you.

"Now, I have two corrections real quick before we get into the main show. We'll talk about the Bengals. We'll talk about the Jaguars. I kind of massive topic today, redrafting the Giants. I it's my Magnum Opus. It's like this incredible. I'm hyping up the show a lot before I even get into it, but I'm proud of it. We're tired. It's very long and I'm very proud. Correction number one today. And it's actually a correction of a correction, which is very shameful. Can I trust anything I say? I say something confidently. And then I realized later, oh, that was wrong, even though I was trying to because I corrected my raiders thing. And then I decided to add like three minutes of content to that. And in the three minutes I got another thing wrong. So I said that the tuck rule game, which I referenced last episode happened in the AFC championship game between the Patriots and the Raiders. It was not the AFC title game. It was the 2002 divisional round of the AFC playoffs between the Patriots and the Raiders. That was when the tuck rule game took place. Now, correction number two, some people wanted me to say this and I might as well do it. I think part of why marquise Hollywood Brown's nickname is cool is because it has a double meaning. But some people were upset, I didn't mention that the reason why he is called Hollywood Brown is 'cause he's from Hollywood, Florida, so I think it's both, that said he's a star receiver who also is from Hollywood. So you call him Hollywood knowing that it's a double entendre. Is that even the double meaning? Probably entendre might be the sexual variety to our bum too tired for this. Anyway, anyway..

But i flipped some players last year. And turn it into the first pick of the rookie draft. Wow i'm thinking kyle pits or nashi harris. I have kamara. Henry and mike davis my tight ends or gronk tyler higby. Also what is a reasonable trade package to ask for if i want another top five rookie. Pig looking to trade henry and aaron rodgers for picks. What is receiver situation. Does he say because now as His receivers are great. I didn't chases the bec. Yeah we go. Chase pits nause in a vacuum. Yeah so and. I think i would hear too because i think is running backs. Good enough to keep them going for a few more years. But if he's looking to try and sell aaron rodgers for rookie pick. I mean you know you're probably looking at the back around one. But what if he throws in derrick henry henry rogers is that enough to get them to one. Zero three judd. I think rose you get into another three henry along can get them to one. I mean if you're one zero three year in rebuild mode. So you probably don't wanna do that but if you're looking to get a player's gonna help you now. You know what if you just had bad luck injuries last year and you have a really good team sure. Then you'd be interested in making that move. You could win now. Rogers henry and give up one. Oh three and that. Rogers and henry for one or three along.

"Just chain their offense completely is going to be difficult for markey's brown to be that type of fantasy wide receiver until one. If you guys each of you had to project the number of targets per game marquess brown would get this year. What number would that be six assists six to seven. I would say okay well. In those eight games last year he was averaging a tad more than seven per game. And i mean like he basically was at seven per game so yeah. Of course that you're talking about last six regular season plus plus two postseason. Yeah and you take those eight games. And dave already did the math but just to give you the numbers again. You take those eight games and just multiply by two and sixteen games. It was one hundred and fourteen target pace. It was thousand sixty eight yards and twelve touchdowns. He he is i. It's really weird. I look at him so similarly to mark andrews just obviously they played different positions but he's played thirty eight markets. Proudest played thirty games in his career. He has fewer than fifty yards in twenty of thirty games. He has fewer than thirty yards in twelve of thirty games more than a third less than thirty yards. He has fewer than ten yards in five games. But then in the postseason That's he's got three games in the postseason three. All three games eighty seven more yards and he averages eleven point nine yards per target in three postseason game seven point nine in the regular season. I don't know if that means nothing over his career seventh. Yes seven point nine in the regular season in thirty games. Eleven point nine in the postseason in three games. It's only three games. But he shows glimpses. I think of of what he can do. But it's hard to stay consistent with his raw numbers may be the top twenty four days predicting him to be. It's going to be like tyler lock. You have some big weeks where he's great. You know have some weeks where he just like. Why am i starting this guy. And that's the frustration of a clear like just. Aren't there insist the difference being obviously that everybody's going to continue to start tyler lockett when he goes through rough patches because he's capable of putting johnson a game. Yeah maybe maybe that was the first time people really finally started to get away from tyler lockett. I think it's a lot easier to get away from markey's battle. I like comparing the two. I like lock it better. Yeah i mean. And i get what you're saying that just the the ups and downs of of these types of receivers. I'm hoping they'll be a little bit more consistent than tyler lockett. Just maybe not necessarily the full year today. Total said laugh but the thing about markey's brown that is great is like you said adams. Adp's fantastic and he does have a big weeks and you are starting him especially in three receiver leaks those type of leagues that you end up winning. You know you're playing to win. He's the type of player..

Dtn i still don't understand why james robinson is that right ahead. Write behind travis. Utn robinson almost made my bold prediction list. All right. let's go to your next bowl the prediction the this one's really fun. Marquees brown will finish as a top twenty four wide receiver and have a monster first. Nine weeks markey's brown top twenty four. That would be surprising to a lot of people. I think it would be very surprising but look at how he finished last year. And for the record. I do not have it ranked this way as of now but it is something. I'm considering in fact the next two bold predictions this one and the next one. I'm thinking about making those changes in making them. Actually reflect the my rankings. I think that's how bold predictions ultimately should be last six games of the regular season ad in the playoff games. That's eight games. Thirty seven catches five hundred and thirty four yards and six touchdowns the ravens brought him in a little bit. His average depth of target was a lot shorter. He ran more crossing route state. Use those crossing routes in the red zone and it clicked for him. He had a lot of good numbers. You basically take those numbers from the last eight games at double and you had a little bit six percent more on top of it. Because they're seventeen games and you projects out to over eleven hundred yards and twelve touchdowns sounds crazy. How could he get twelve touchdowns will if he's used the same way. I think the opportunity is there. We know the ribbons want to be more effective throwing the football. Certainly once they do that they're officiency will go up throwing the football. They have dressed in free agency with sammy. Watkins they had a rashad bateman. I still think brown is the best receiver in this offense. I still think he can make big plays. I'm hoping that in his magical third year things click for him. You can drop them as a number three receiver. But he's got a chance to sneak into the top twenty four in large part because of the schedule that they had to begin the season. It's great through the first nine weeks. It's the second half there toward the end. A little bit of the regular season. That i think you'd get a little nervous to use them. So right them out for the first eight nine weeks the season and then flip them if he can assuming he has the year that i think he's going to have the good news is you can draft him as a number four wide receiver. He's forty first marquess brown forty first and nfc average draft position. Since may i and one thing you didn't mention those rishaad baseman..

He's he's scored a lot of touchdowns Over the last like five or six weeks so it's just it makes me a little bit nervous at seventy six hundred this week going up against a very good Dallas defense and Particularly just against receivers and so I just don't love that matchup.
