"So keep listening for your chance to win. It's something that's just a lot of fun, and we are very much looking forward to it. All right. Remember a number of years ago, Marquette University made the decision that they have to change the nickname, uh, that used to be the Marquette warriors and the the the symbol the was had had Native American imagery. And so some people said, Okay, this is terrible. This is racist. This is offensive, so we we we've got to. We've got to get rid of the imagery, which would be fine. But then people said, Well, we've got to get rid of the name warriors as well because Even though warriors is not inherently a native American sort of thing is Native Americans can be warriors. But you know, there can be all sorts of other warriors as well, Markets said. No, we can't do this. And so that led to a huge discussion over the name change The original suggestion that they came out with, and this was after a lot of study was to change them to be the Marquette gold. That was the idea because you know who could be upset with a color. Nobody could be offended by that. Well, that one went over like a lead balloon. And so they ultimately became the Golden Eagles. My argument all along was We'll keep the nickname Warriors just come up with different imagery. But I got out voted on that. Well, since then, there has been an ongoing PC war on a nicknames. You saw this with the term Redskins and and ultimately the with you know, the Washington Redskins decided they were finally going to abandon that. So last year, they were the Washington Football club, and there's still wrestling with what they're going to become in the future, Although they have said one of the names we're not going to consider his warriors. We're not going to be the Washington Warriors because we think it has too many links to Native American imagery. Well, Cleveland, the Cleveland Indians baseball team. Tom has decided, of course, that they are going to do away with the term Indians because they do not want to offend people. So they have been trying to decide what the new nickname is going to be. Well earlier this morning, they they announced it. They are going to be the Cleveland Guardians, the Cleveland Guardians. Now if you want to understand what the logo presumably is going to be, and they haven't rolled this out, But where the Guardians come from, and you follow me on Twitter, it's at Jeff Wagner. 6 20. I've got a link to this. 19 like 32 in Cleveland. They completed a giant bridge.

"And they get put right in gins aga's path in the same bracket speaking of butler there. Prior coach chris holtman now toho state he will be entering a six straight. Nca attorney since coming over from butler. I i don't know how states legit contender they play illinois tamar. They're catching five and a half. That games actually up to six. Even he thoughts on that game tomorrow for the big ten the big ten tournament championship don't want to step in front of illinois as well as illinois playing i think the buckeye is a little bit overrated. Just because they were able to face michigan without one of their players today. And let's face it Buckeyes come up completely empty in some key games including the game. The game before against michigan. So i think there was a time when we were talking about. Who's the best team in the big ten and the buckeyes have really faded out of that conversation time. What's interesting is. I think people have probably forgotten who the defending champs is. And it's virginia tony bennett. And they started very slow this year. They actually lost a game university of san francisco. Then they got crushed by gonzaga but since then they've had a fairly strong showing good record quad one quad teams. Any tony bennett. Coach team is going to compete. And since all these games are in this bubble twenty five percent crowds. We don't really know how that's going to factor in yet. Could virginia sneak in there and be a factor. I don't see it happening. And i think there are a little bit overrated being the defending champion from two years ago. But let's face it. one thing. That virginia has going for them. Because they're i know very efficient on offense but they're very deliberate. Also so they play games in the sixties and in the fifties so it makes them more prone with with not as many possessions to getting upset and it makes it more likely that they can pull a big upset because there's just a smaller data sample of possessions in their game so they're vulnerable to being upset but they could beat anyone. I just said this sneaking suspicion this could be one of those oddball years where somebody comes in from left field because you have six independent trials in. They're all one game affairs. Who do you trust when the heat gets hot. It's hard to breathe. Who's gonna make two free throws down the stretch. There's so many unknowns. And i wrote an article for the betting predators website this week and there was a coach by the name of wire. He's a legend rest his soul. He's final year in one thousand nine hundred seventy seven. He was coach at marquette and they were called the marquette warriors then and you know they were seven no big deal. They were good team..

When I was winning, they called me eccentric. And I don't know why people question the academic training of an athlete. 50% of the doctors in this country graduated in the bottom half of their classes. The only mystery in life is why the kamikaze pilots wore helmets. I think everyone should go to college and get a degree and then spend six months is a bartender and six months as a cab driver, then they would really be educated. "A Steve's goofy show on WTMJ. That was fun talking about the old Marquette Warriors and Al McGuire. I'll be honest. I've said this before they should still be the Warriors. Crazy Golden Eagles. What does that mean? It's a kind of bird. No, it's an ego signing Golden Eagles. Who cares? I like Marquette. Great school. A lot of friends went there. Not important media. People in Milwaukee went to market Brian D. Went to Marquette. Did you know that Jordan? I did know that? Yeah. Steve Sham Raz across the Hall over there from TMJ. Four news. Do you know what I'll admit? I'm not a Marquette fan. No, I am not a market fan. See, I was. I've kind of come gone back and forth is at the time and I was in high school and in college. I love down Maguire and I love the Warriors. I was probably way into the market camp. And then you know things change. Over the years, I started to file the badges basketball program, which is outstanding and that back and forth. That stuff is fun, and that if you read the story, the middle finger game just Google at Marquette and Wisconsin. Um Literally. A picture pops up Al McGuire on the scorer's table. Just ramping up the market fans in attendance, and that was probably what the arena at that time and there is Mr Hughes, the father of I think he had two sons on the team giving the middle finger to Al McGuire. And it's right. In front of him, and that was Al McGuire Man. The guy was an entertainer, showman, he said. Crazy things, but he got the performance and he loved loved challenges with players and team to make them perform at the highest level. I'm absolutely in love with a Maguire. What? What a great Iconic memory to have about basketball. Wisconsin. What's the point of flipping somebody off those seriously? Like who cares? I don't think people do it as much as they used to. I don't see it that much. I asked the question the other day. When I was actually talking to one of my teammates, the ones like I said for me, it's been like two years since I would have done that. Do you know what I'm gonna sound like a Debbie downer? But it's just a sports game. I mean, if people really go to that extreme, I think people have nothing better to do with their lives in the clip off a coach. Yeah, there's a lot more important stuff anyway. That was kind of fun. Nice reminiscing with Pete Bribe. You're too young for those kinds of games, right? Oh, I don't know. I mean, I really get the tradition. And so it's like that's what keeps traditions alive. Keep teaching on the younger people Right now. I was talking about this the other day. Like Thanksgiving turkeys is sort of being replaced by like people doing like their own pizzas now and Take out food, are you? It's still a traditional Are the bride's still traditional in that sense, Brightest, little pretty traditional. I'm not sure by Thanksgiving pizza. Think of you blasted me to my mom. Uh, first, so we had all the traditional Like sweet potato mash potato turkey and she like made this like amazing casserole that's like with the leftover turkey that I got to bring home and now I can eat for the week. Uh, Yeah, no overall with good. I mean, we laid low and so typically Thanksgiving with the bride is my dad's side of the family all get together, and so he's the oldest of five. And so between All the siblings, their significant others, my cousins, their significant others, and now there's like second cousins. I think there's like 32 of us. That's crazy. All together for the big. It's a big group. And like this year we didn't It was the first year and, like 35 years, but they didn't do it. We did a doom call, which takes a lot of families did, which is just Not the same thing. It's just so awkward. You have, like 35 people because everyone kind of went to their like immediate unit. And so we were all just stared like, you know, my cousin Brian was always like, Yeah, This is way more fun in person this on so many awkward moments any awkward moments. Well, uh, I don't think he's gonna hear this. So I feel safe to share it. But so by my brother and my sister in law, who live in Manhattan, they were they were in New York, and they had a friend's giving. Don't give them the benefit of the doubt it because they were an hour ahead of us that they were significantly more inebriated than everyone else on the call when they decided the joy And I'm pretty sure my sister in law Actually within you. Did she, like playfully said to my brother. Not on you after after everyone who they voted for. Oh, yeah, Everyone heard it was like kinda with silent and they're like a couple offered last that someone just like immediately changed the subject. That's probably the wise course of action out. So you know one I wanted I wanted to bring you on because you were the father of of Kristen. And that will tell me what it's like to be the father of Christian. First of all, we'll get to the basketball stuff next. You know, I was always very easy to be with she At an early age showed she had a competitive spirit as the only a zone nine year old to went out for low league and wanted to be a picture and she was a swimmer. And within when we decided that He had a chance to go to Hollywood and crushed my dreams of watching her play college basketball, but My number one contribution tour was that her top role was being the star basketball player in the movie. Yes, we talked about that movie on the show. So, Yeah, I don't want it. I don't want to hide. The details here are are buried the lead. You're the captain of the Wisconsin Badgers basketball team in the mid seventies. I think 74 that period. Right. Well, 76 77 Okay, um, you are. We'll get to the famous game part. But we have a big game coming up Friday with the market. I called the Warriors. Still. But the Golden Eagles is their official name now and the Badgers. It's a rivalry that's existed forever. That was that was contentious in your day as well, right? Well, you know, when you talk about a rivalry, and really not a rivalry of the other team doesn't win is actually in my career. We never beat Marquette. Which kind of Stokes the fires in stuff for a decade, when L was Uh, Coach and Marquette. They somehow always managed to pull a rabbit out of their hat. Yeah, we're gonna talk about the famous game. It Z often referred to as the middle finger game, But we'll get to that after the break before I do that, though, Kristen, you had a lot of fun with your dad, I think was, as goes Wisconsin on Twitter. Your dad is like a font of sports trivia knowledge. Specifically Wisconsin for Yeah, he's nailing this stuff. Oh, my God. You ask this man like any professional athlete like where they went to college and has him just like, pull it out of nowhere. It's like there's so many other things in the world. You could go like, Why do you know all that? Why do you know all that stuff? People? Well, I always always when I was little. All I read was sports books. And so Bill Russell and Lou Gehrig and Babe Ruth. And so I've learned a lot like from that Sports illustrated subscriber for 35 years. I guess I just, you know Works with my thing, and, fortunately was blessed with a pretty good memory. All right, well, you're gonna take us back into use that memory bank to take us back to 1974 famous game in Milwaukee, Marquette Warriors at the time Wisconsin Badgers and an incident that kind of replaced the actual outcome of the game will get to all that more. "Good afternoon Milwaukee as mark belling late afternoon, show newstalk eleven thirty wins at. As. You know I see all the time. Everything is obvious after it happens, it's very easy to understand why something happened after it occurs. The challenge in life is to figure out what's going to happen before it occurs. It's a much harder thing to do. As. You know I have consistently predicted the president trump is going to be reelected this fall. However, I believe. The amount of fraud, the contention that's going to occur with all of these mail in ballots coming from who knows where present a challenge and may create a situation where the courts are going to have to decide who won given the fact that we could have tens of thousands hundreds of thousands, maybe a couple of million ballots that would be of dubious origin nonetheless. Trump is going to win and I felt that all. Not Maybe I'm wrong and things can change. That's the thing with any prediction. You base it. What's going on right now? If something else happens back to change that, but if he does I think in retrospect, everybody will look back and say that it was obvious. Almost everything that is happening right now I think points to. An extremely frustrated. American public terrified death of what's come of the Democratic Party. And the fear that the only way that they can salvage their nation. is to reelect donald trump. No, maybe it doesn't turn out that way, but if it does. After the fact it will be obvious it just never is before the fact, and it's becoming harder and harder and harder, because in order to have Eddie good decision that what? You have to have a lot of information. I could use a football analogy, but I think I used to betty of them, and we probably won't. Have you think we're going to put ball? Paul Says No. Do you think baseball finishes that season. Pulses no way I say yes. The fact that they were able to get this off without a hitch so far I say yes. What. Paul there are no Florida marlins anymore. There have not been for a couple of years. You mean the Miami Marlins. We. How long before was. Should we just say watching redskins forever? Just anger to hack people off I know. People said they do that with Marquette Warriors. It held out a long time. There aren't many that still say that. Yeah the whole team has it, but so what? Ten Days in ten days. They're they're out of the and he'd remember. You got nine million guys that can play. Yeah, I think the log with the same thing, and that's what's going to happen eventually in life. The one thing that I'll say about that before I. Get back to where I go I guess. It seems to me that the only way that we can deal with this culvert thing as a society is kind of do with these sports, leagues are doing because believe it or not. What they are doing is guaranteed that everybody gets it ever. Of all the things that I have seen that we have butchered in my lifetime. This might be number one on the list. If. You want everybody to get it. Do exactly what the Sports League's doing. Put everybody in a bubble at hangar. Have them hanging around close to one another? In other words everything that they're telling us that we should be doing to avoid none of that works. You heard just Vicki say they've been I. I've heard for months. Take Vitamin, C. Vitamin, D Kerr certain zinc, and maybe a couple of other things here that for buds now I take. I don't take certain, but I have taken died of and C and Vitamin D appropriate ever and ever and ever ever. They always said it's good for your immune system. Now you'll get experts say it's good for your immune system. The reason nobody else says that is you know, make any money southern vitamin, C and Vitamin D. They've been Jerick free generic for like a century ago into a drugstore. They're on sale by sixteen for one. Et CETERA. You make a lot of money selling vaccines. You make a lot of money for your well. You know let's close all the schools. Nobody has to work, but we'll get our paycheck. Everybody's vested in doing what is good for them rather than actually fighting the thing, but yeah all the sports. Things are GonNa get it and you're gonNA find out that after all these players get it, so what so they all got into week and it's like the box cutting got up. BLEDSOE got it so what they're. The are back. These athletes are in great shape. None of over even sick. They get it. They come back book. D Do which is eventually where we're going to have to get to as a society more on that later, but. On this everything is obvious after it occurs. And how you don't always see it. The thing that makes it makes it a challenge now. Is. You literally live in a world. In which I'll go back to my analogy, that's where I got a little stumbled instead of doing the football analogy I'll do the horse race analogy. I know some guys just better. The your brothers in New York. Jockeys brothers. And Rod I think is the best rider in the United States that his brother Jose wins almost as many races. They! Don't look at anything else. Just the you know at Herat wins about twenty five percent of his races Jose runs about twenty percent of his races, so out of the races at New York dog on your half Maroon by the artistes, brothers, one of the other in the same race, and they usually I'd favorites, so even that's a challenge, but that's all they do, so. Let's imagine I told you. Somebody that mark which. You know. What horses had the RT's brothers that I'd say Jose does. Does it have a monitor Herat's on the three and say okay I'll bet the three. What if I told you that three was the slowest horse? What if I didn't tell you? Though the three is the slowest horse of the race? or The five just set two track records at a row. It other words just having the information about the RT's brothers is something, but you have been denied because I wouldn't tell you other important information. This is what it's like an everything. The media simply not telling people all sorts of things. The Kovic story is extraordinary. How they go freaking out reporting every fact that points to this thing being dire and simply don't, and there are some of those that say that would point to it being dire. Nothing dying that the positive tests are occurring. But they then don't tell you anything that would lead you to a different conclusion. The literally only give you information that leads you to a certain conclusion. You wonder why they always get this wrong and why they're jaws dropped when things happen, like trump wins well. Is it any surprise? The rest of the country is often being led to Rod. Conclusions were denied all of the information as I point out all the time you can't. Have an opinion on something you don't know about. But I believe. The if trump wins, we're GONNA. Be Able to look back and say that it was obvious. And among the things that we will look back at our. The Democrats put opponents someone who appears to have lost his marbles. And the Democratic Party appears to have dort have endorsed anarchy and appears to be opposed. To efforts to keep control order and safety society. When one party decides that they're going to advocate adequacy. And Support Abacus. Will it be any surprise? If the American public votes against that part again? Maybe trump does win, but if he does, we're going to look back and these are going to be perceived in.

I can't argue with that on aisle is not a lot of you guys is more hell. No, that's a gym teacher. I roll the ball out, and that's it. Okay. Can I just do that? All right. That would be great if someone else could teach the hygiene lessons about Ah, there's always a girl about a boom. Better being Let's get back to running the option. Unbelievable, loose loose, able to passed away a few years ago. I mean, really, it is. It is a Forrest Gump type life that he had. It was amazing. Amazing. So that's why Lou Saban is trending just just so you know that that's how it went. Ah, Twitter and how about a Fresca? Mike? It's swollen Dawn. The Jason Smith show with my Carmen live from the Geico studios. We saw today that the Washington Redskins are going to have a nickname change, and it's going to happen soon. The new name is not known. This is kind of a fate of complete. We knew this was happening. Ever since FedEx decided to say we'd like you to change your name. And Right now. The Redskins don't have their new name lined up. Why? Because, according to reports, they are entangled in legal trademark situations with the name they want. Now. Part of it is OK. I'm sure some people been squatting on potential Washington Redskins names for a while ever since the controversy first came up about a decade or so ago that the nickname is racist. They should change it. Alright, I'm going trademark this name and see where you're at. But I would think First of all I want to say this. I would like to think that You. What you probably should have done was decide. You're going to change the name Then you trademark a couple of names you want. And then you announce you're changing the name so you don't have to worry about paying anybody for the trade walk. They already have, because this is going to show the quick Turn around nature of this that Daniel Snyder clearly had no intention to do so. Hence they had cyber squad. This's where someone in the in the organization Regardless of what Daniel Snyder and the ownership groups you know, feelings might have been. This is where someone in their budget for whatever the digital and online presence What's it cost 12 bucks to do a domain registration and then depending on how many categories you file for the trademark and and patents and everything, maybe Khun get costly, So it's kind of hard to hide the thousands upon thousands of dollars there. But it seems like you try to find a way to do so. Like what? What was that line item of $20,000? Don't worry about it. We had to work on the website. We had a crash. There were some things we had to do some new architecture to make it work, okay? Better for S e O. Okay. Good. Good. Good do that. Instead, you filed trademarks for like, six or seven names on your cover. Tonight. At least that's the way I would have done it. If I was operating in the business and then take in my lumps as need be, because then as this pops up like, Wow, who's got him? Well, What we do, and maybe that's Ah, That's a nice big, fat raise for you or if you get fired, someone else hires you immediately. Twitter. And how about a Fresca? Mike? It's swollen dome. Now. The thing about this whole nickname thing is that supposedly the leader in the clubhouse is warriors. Right? That's the one Washington Warriors is what I wanted, but I don't think that's that now Call me crazy, even though it's what's been reported because Adam Schefter said that Washington wants to move away from a native American nickname. And wants to do something else. You know. Ron Rivera, Redskins head coach. Oh, by the way off more Rivera in a second, but Rivera, Redskins head coach, They'd like to incorporate the military in it. So I'm thinking it's not going to be warriors is going to be something different. I mean, I like the ball. The names are not there. I like Americans because I think Americans has is the most Timeless sports nickname You could possibly and I think American sounds before the Washington Americans. It sounds like an like an old time baseball team are something that has its roots in sports. You know, I don't think you want to take the senators and it's it's baseball, but I like Americans in it, so I got to think it's going to be something along those lines and it's It's not going to be Warriors or something else. That way. I got to think it's going to be different, because certainly they've been. They've had the Native American nickname for the longest time there changing it away from that, and I think you wouldn't want something. That look, it's It's caused a lot of controversy the past two years. Even if you come up with something that is, that's a great name that that honors native Americans. I got to think the reports. We want to move away from it. It's not going to be something like that. Well, I think you would move away from race entirely. Because I mean, one of the leaders in the clubhouse early on a lot of ground swell of support for red tails and a tribute to the Tuskegee Airman, which is is a good sentiment. But the question of all right trying to bring everybody in with a big hug. Is that necessarily going to do it right? If you're trying to unite folks and move forward in terms of what you're doing, The answer is, I don't know that that's necessarily is the one that did it. I mean, you got the red Wolves. Was getting championed out there. I know Red wolves and one One area was trademarked. So maybe you could do without a space and things of that nature again. Whoever trademarked it wasn't doing it for the National Football League and football related products. That's part of it is the specificity of the classes that you're looking to trademark but in warriors Is the Warriors, something that is the next obvious front for debate right? Because we saw the Marquette Warriors changed their name to the the Golden Eagles years ago on the college front. Right. So how much you know further does that go? So as you try to pick something innocuous man, Unless you're of a certain age, you don't know that the Washington senators exist. I just throw that out there. But the other other part is, you know, trying to find something that keeps your your friend brand and merchandising among the tops in the league. I mean, that's the biggest challenge going forward, right? Picking the name That in moving away from the nickname that you've had is one thing but keeping that cash printed Jason. I mean, we know that's task number two and really all Daniel Snyder cares about that in the grand scheme. I don't know that I don't know that it's going to be something that has anything. I don't want to say controversial because that that's a bad thing to say. But anything where, because there's so much attention to this topic, and what's going on that I think this was that this is going to be the name and people could say it's dull. It's boring, but it's going to be working. Goingto have this go on forever. And this is going to be our name right eye. I can't see it being something where all right, Here's a situation where we're going to try to do something. And and who knows how it could get out that I look at it like where it's going to be like the eagle's or the Cowboys or the Giants or the Jets, or it's going to be something of that ilk. I just can't see them saying all right, let's move on and try to right a wrong I mean, I just don't know that Daniel Snyder's that kind of guy and you know, and the other were part of this is that here's Ron Rivera, Right, Brand new head coach, right? He hasn't you know, hasn't coached the team a game yet. He's a guy that could be fired in two years. Who knows how long he's going to be around? Any welcome George, and he's working closely with Daniel Snyder to figure out a nickname for a team..

"Last word tonight. Hi, Kyle. Take what's going make sure taking a call. I completely agree with the concept of not using Redskins having a local based solely on a physical attributes. Obviously, it's not the best home when you get to Indians. Come on. I think once you get the local level, but then he had like the Cleveland Indians a few years ago. They are. They're in the process of phasing out their logo Kind. What you said with the statue does the local honor The team who represents or is it a caricature to go back to the market warriors? It was mentioned earlier. I do disagree when they change that name with the locals. If you look at the history of the Marquette Warriors There's times where they had some caricature. Um ah Caricature mascot at the time when they changed the name their mascot I thought gave respect and honor to who is representing As far as the local level. I think a good example was the Florida State Seminoles. Seven. There was people calling for Florida State changed your nickname on the Seminole Tribe said No, we We're honored to have that through all these things. I think it's tough, isn't it? Kyle? It is really hard to To differentiate give because I mean, for example, you have mascots you have low goes, you have nicknames and like you outlined, there may be situations where Well, the nickname offends some people. But then you look at the logo and you go. Oh, OK, Nobody is real upset at the logo. Then you have some teams and you know that have had mascots over the years that have been Phase out because they were just so over the top. Yet the nickname still sticks. There's a lot of variables at play, and this is not an easy topic it it's not an easy discussion because it's while who's Who's asking for the change? What if there is a portion of the Of the population. Let's say that is Native American have heard from some textures as well, that that speak to being a part Native American and say, I have no problem with any of these nicknames, for example, But others might say, I don't know probably nickname, but I don't like the logo that there's so many. This is not easy at all. There's a news flash. There's so many competing voices and competing viewpoints. The one last thing I like. I agree completely. The one last thing through the last several weeks, I think, And this is not. I think on both sides of the aisles. What we need is leadership to say. You know, this has brought the lights insensitivity that we need to look at. But let us look at it in a through. Ah, thoughtful process is opposed to knee jerk reactions and the last several weeks in so many ways. Of our kneejerk reactions and I have no problem if, um if, after thoughtful research and discussion Ah team decided to keep her name or change their name. But let's what I don't want to happen. Let's tear down everything and then also year two down the road. We're like, Wow. Did we really have to go that far? Thank you, Kyle. I appreciate your comments, and I appreciate you holding And I appreciate the discussion that we've had the last hour so Varying viewpoints. Again. It feels like some of that one of those topics. We ended with more questions than answers. One of the angles that I think we'll have to address or at least I have a little deeper into at some point here soon as what role because we heard this from a lot of callers and we got this in a lot of texts as well. What Roll AUT original intent play. Because you do hear that a lot when it comes to It's against specifically two names and mascots in logos. Well, what was the original intent? Was the original tend to honor What is what? What was originally meant by the nickname Redskins. Like Was it Steve or Steven was talking. So now as we sit X number of years, ex decades after the inception of the name the logo, the mascot What ring? If any You might say original intent has no bearing in 2020 Because we are a different society. We are different people and whatever was intended in 1920 When that when this random team started up It doesn't matter. It's 100 years ago. Maybe that's the answer. Again. I think, Teo understand. The discussion has so many variables and to recognize that my approach and I don't know if it's the wisest. I think. In some ways, it's probably the The easiest air quotes Case by case Case by case Whether it's a nickname, a logo. A statue. Avoid the worry over. You know a slippery slope. I mean, I think Sometimes we tend to immediately default to. Well, if this then We're going to be blowing up Mount Rushmore next Thursday night. If this then What if your last name is black or your laugh? Last name is Brown. I think there has to be some reasonable discussion. And again, the local Input. Because the closer these decisions are to your community, The more investment you have in it. And you'll have to them live with that decision for me to for us to go to bat for the Washington Redskins. It makes for good, entertaining radio for a few minutes, but In the big picture in the long run. If tomorrow we hear that the owner and the owner has the right to do it. He owns the team. It is a private entity. A caller. Somebody dropped off. They were to make this point..

"A five grow, who covers the Colorado Rockies for the athletic is going to join us. We'll talk about this schedule and Whether or not he feels it. Savors the Rockies. Fingers crossed that he Things that it does. By the way, Speaking of the Washington Redskins, I think tomorrow on the show. We should just throw it out to the big Alan Jo Jo audience. We should help rename the Washington Redskins. We should come up with the name. I have one in mind already. That I just think it would be easy. And I think that Maybe the smart way to go. Like Dan Snyder's Not very smart. A rod was just saying they had to call it. The Warriors. Because the I guess Dan Snyder trademarked the Washington Warriors. When did you do that? He didn't hear 2000 hey, was planning to use the name Washington Warriors for an Arena Football League team. That team never never never took place and every never developed into an actual team. S o. He believed that the trademark that Washington warriors and I guess there was also a DC radio host. And I'm on some point means Kevin. She Han Hey, said he has a pretty good authority that it will that warriors is the leading contender. For their team name. I'm trying. You know what? Listen, their sensitivities out there, Tio. All kinds of different names. Now I was in I said I used to cover all the Milwaukee teams. Back in the day for the CNN sports ticker, which was, you know they were the very first to have that little bottom line that would run across the bottom, so those sports would have included the Milwaukee Bakhshi. Only thie only team I did not cover was the Green Bay Packers because Green Bay is not very close to Milwaukee. Now. Back then, the Packers did play two games a year at County Stadium in Milwaukee. That was obviously the old stadium the bruise played at before Miller Park. But I did cover the Brewers, The Milwaukee Bucks and I covered the Marquette Warriors. Which ended up changing their name because it offended somebody. To the market. Golden Eagles. That must not have offended enough because we know that Golden State has had a very successful run being the Golden State Warriors. Maybe it's warriors have a different kind. I don't know what the What the thought process was there. When? When Mark it change your name? By the way, we do have odds for the names you would like to hear, though you okay? So can I give you my name first? And if it's even on the list Now here's what we already have in Washington, DC We have The nationals. Hey. We have the Wizards. We have the Capitals. Those are the professional sports teams that are there now. Right now, the senators. I don't think it is a great name, because obviously we've already had the Washington senators, which was their major league baseball team. Way, way, way, Way way back in the day. But I think if you really want to do it, right You call him the Washington Americans? Just call him the Americans. You can have red, white and blue uniforms. You know, it is where the nation's capital Idiot. And if you truly want to Do it right. It's tough to get offended by the Washington Americans. Play Devil's Advocate, not saying My opinion, just throwing this out there. Were there some individuals? I want to play for that team would say in three years. That are in America that aren't American. Okay, well, But what if they want to represent Their heritage, their country well, that's who they are, and they they obviously would be able to do that. But they still They still make their living. In the United States of America. So I mean, America could be one size fits all. I could be wrong. Is it even on the list? Kouf? I haven't seen that. Right here. Here's here's what the list is. These are courtesy of odds. Shark number one is warriors, right? No, warriors aren't even on the list. That's a bad list because of the because of the fact he already has, But they're going to wind up being the odd Shargel ist. Let's just be clear. Mr Matter of fact, says that mean there's a trademark owned by the owner. And the reason why people say it's not on this list and because it is popular on social media, the Warriors is because it's already commonly known as the Golden State team, so The fact is, is that like they're likely Washington is not going to call themselves the Warriors because I think that there's a lot of teams that have the same name across seven supporters Motors multiple giants. There's a couple of hours. I'm not thinking of. Okay, Go ahead. All right. How many are on the list? I mean, there's a bunch Okay, number one. In fact, I'll start at the bottom on this is plus 50,000 for these two. And these were just I don't know why they're even on the list. But I guess they've been brought up the trumps. Okay, Snowflakes. Okay, we'll start just having a little fun. They're what is the snowflakes? What? Go ahead. Alright. After that, At 5000 we have the hogs. At 2500. We have the Arlington's at 2000. We have the Jeffersons at 1000. We have the renegades at 800. The RedHawks. At 700 the.

"Colon yet has he called it. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say No. So you don't know for a fact that you don't know I don't. I mean, he may may have trouble connecting long running long standing joke on the show is that Drew Brees is occupying one of the lines and has been on hold for quite some time. This organs back Tio Thie Super Bowl in San Francisco while Santa Clara Ah, where Jason and I went up, and I think Drew Brees talked to everybody on the network that day except us and not nothing but memories. Yeah, but not that we were trying to chase him down. But then we watched him work the room. While we did the show, And while we did, you know, taped other interviews for play on clips and for our digital media, I heart radio and obviously flack sports radio dot com. It just seemed that he must have done like 9000 interviews that day. So the joke was well, We just decided we didn't have room for him. So he's been on hold ever since. Who hasn't been stood up? You know for a guest. Come on. That's happened millions of times. All of us, you know? Yeah. I don't know that we went too hard to try to book him. It was a better joke that We just had a stiff armed him. You know, I I had on the Super Bowl. Of course the actor was Rob Schneider. You know, I'm talking about one of the Adam Sandler gang robbed live and I had pulled up all his movies up and I said Jordan Reed, our Rob Schneider from movie fame, and I just drew a boy like I come up with one and it could have been, Lee said. Hey, San Francisco Giants fan really right. He would have gotten a little bit of love there. I mean, you made the nod to the Bay Area before. See, That's something that he talks about. He's legitimately a baseball. I did not know that he was a good guy, though he was he was a lot of what what's great is all those guys like? You know, often times when you do Super Bowl week for those a little bit behind the curtain of radio, you've got the pitches right, so everybody's got Something to sell either from a somebody they teamed with just for that week. Hey, here's the dieldrin I'm gonna wear Hey, hears this and they come through and you do it and they, you know, you talk about whatever product it is for a minute and you move on, and we have an opportunity to talk to a lot of actors that normally unless we're going to go work the red carpet or do one of those screenings And go sit in the room where they come in and give you 10 minutes and then shuttled back out or whatever. You're not going to talk to you and a guy like Rob Schneider, Obviously, you know, you know him with Kevin James and David Spade and out of Santa those guys air when you sit down with him, you don't have to talk the movie the whole time. Oh, no, actually pay attention to sports, which has got skills. Adam Sellers got basketball Now you're getting compares Jump shot. I play. I played basketball. Three of three pick up giving. It's Cal Ripken Jr. Look at that. Yeah, I felt the hell out of him. I have no doubt. Did you try to end the streak? I did, because that's when there was there the lockout or whatever the walkout, and this was many years ago, and I'm like I'm taking cow out. How funny would that be? I would alone. Wait this guy. I bet that cow wouldn't play in that game. And then and then he went the hard files. I totally smacked and he made the lamp and looked at me like, Are you serious? Are you kidding? I played basketball against, um, Batman was a Michael Keaton. He was pretty good, too. So he's he's going to be Batman again, you know? Oh, I know. I didn't know that he's coming back into the universe is part of Ah, connection to the flash. I didn't know as he is to me the best Batman of all these film Batman's going ahead at me. At swollen dome. All you Christian Bale believers out there. You could bring the pain. Ah, yeah. Heat might be back. Another guy, huge sports fans stealer guy on and Pittsburgh pirates. Really? Yeah. Well, get into Ah, the name game. Coming up soon because you heard the Isaac Lowenkron update about Washington and the name Redskins right, he said. The Washington team and many are adopting that it's right. Do you use the nickname or not? But it also opens up the obvious question to other nicknames in baseball and football. Going back into collegiate sports will get into that. After our conversation with Dan Wiki, who's going to be on with us from the time's coming up in about 15 minutes. That's what about And Mike a serious question. Suppose you know if you went back in time, and you heard host dropping the n bomb or something like that, they would probably be fired. You see whats going out with Jimmy Kimmel and some of the guys that did skits with black face? They're going on there a lot of scrutiny out there. What happens if a Host. Ah, play by play guy, a TV guy doing the Ah, you know, the updates or the highlight packages, says the R word By accident. Does that make them racist? Is that Is that a fireable offense? I mean is it's a defensive terms. So do we Stop it from here on out, and no excuses. I What do you do when somebody says that if they say it Well, I I would suspect you get into the process of all right. You say it once or twice Because look, Look, we have the Los Angeles Chargers right when they're around, offender. No, no. Well, it is to some, but, hey, a kid because I care to steal from our friend Chris Myers. But the point is that you've grown up. You've worked With that as the nickname for a team. It's still going to be there because especially if you're in the middle of the action. You're you're allowed to do the skids back then, like Jimmy Kimmel did. Nobody said anything, but now we find it and we want to punish him. And I'm not saying one way or the other. But just because it was okay back then, doesn't mean you get off the hook. Now That's my point. But what do you what you're saying? You immediately get fired. If you say that word I'm asking, though, is it once twice, three straight Make sure you know what it's like over this stuff like Where's the line? The line is moving every 35 seconds. It seems right at this point, and it happened with a snap of a finger. Right? I underwear just so. So Now it's the question of you know what? One of the rules of engagement movie because they haven't committed to changing the name, okay? You're right about that. But here's one thing that in their press release, did you count how many times they used the term? No, I didn't. 10 times are really 10 times to talk about potentially changing the name. I don't know, from Washington Redskins to insert team name here. I don't like when the announcers say they're just not going to say the R word on their own, because then I could say, Well, you know what? I don't want to use the word pirates. I don't want to use the word Indians on a raid every word Braves. I don't want to use the word warriors. I And on and on. Because the Warriors we've actually already seen change, right? The Marquette warriors about the Golden Warriors, right, but the Marquette warriors became the market golden Eagles. Right, Right. So does that mean the Golden State warriors can't be the Warriors anymore? Right? We've already got the note. You heard it and Isaac up Isaac's update that the Indians are now contemplating whether they changed their name. Mike, I have an old tease. You could change that, too. The tribe really easy, though. Well, everybody uses the term tribe ubiquitous. That's true. I have untold The shirt, though that's from an old major league baseball team. I can't even break it out of my closet anymore because it's his offensive, turtle white people, right? Well, yeah. Is it really though it Well, you want me to give you the team name? I know the team name okay is from Atlanta, right? Yeah. Okay, so You know some food that you eat? Well, you can say it. It's okay Crackers. Okay, but that's just it. Do people get upset about that? Don't go around, people. Look at me. Like what do you kid me? Right when it gets used in a film doesn't normally get a comedic response. Yes, of course. It's yes, right, as opposed to other words that we talked about in our our language that our majority tive and derisive too, with the big one fight. Well, you know what? I got word, Della. Here's the thing, Arnie with the education I paid for, and I worked my ass off for it. Go into Northwest Northwest and eventually whitened. Got my MBA at Santa Clara. Now its time. Wow. Look at you. I would tie view we go in university. No, No. There you go. Thank you Know it's not the wrong with that I All I'm saying is and look if I had the opportunity again. I had a great experience at Northwestern Great experience at Santa Clara, but I paid sticker price. And as a kid who didn't come from much. I worked my ass off and I didn't really necessarily enjoy the college experience the same way as most did..

Sit here and tell you I know why. For confederate soldiers. Were ever erected. I would like to think that we. At the time, some people took the good of some. And said it outweighed the bad of some and decided that that person was worthy of a statue. My best guess what I can tell you is. I can't tell you I've seen name suggestions I've seen warriors suggested. Are you aware that warriors? Combined with the native American. Mascot was deemed to be offensive for Marquette University. In Milwaukee Wisconsin. Where that. Yeah Warriors, which by my estimation, if you call a people warriors that seems to be kind of proud kind of strong. Representative of a culture that wants to fight for what is rightfully theirs. But some deemed it to be offensive, and so the Marquette warriors are now. Marquette Golden Eagles. We have actually been in this process before Stanford. Change their name from the Indians to the Cardinal. No S. Utah from the running Indians to the U2 running utes. Chief Wahoo is no longer on the hat of the Cleveland. Indians and again native Americans are not actually Indians. Florida state remains the seminoles, and why because they have worked with the seminal tribe. And tried to have the appropriate mix of the history of the seminal tribe with their football and sports teams. And by the way when they stick the spear in the ground before each game, it's one of the coolest things I've ever seen. And it's a tip of the cap to the seminal warriors. So let's exam and the Washington. Redskins. Why the nickname come to be. Why the nickname to be well, it was actually. Meant to honor all of the tribes if you pick out one tribe. Well then you get associated with the of that tribe, or what do you do to their archrival tribe? Right like the Natural Tank, and if I mispronounce that I apologize Indians, there are three hundred members there in DC. You could pick them out, but there were other tribes all around. And at the time, the grant remember. This is in the Nineteen Twenties Thirties. When they moved down from Boston to DC redskins. Was Not deemed to be an inappropriate or Nickname and in truth even today. If you call. No one calls anybody a redskin. You can tell me that it's a slur, but it's not because a slurs word that used in common language. This isn't or even an uncommon language. It isn't a redskin the only use. The word redskin has in English vernacular. Is described the football team which plays in Washington right. And so we can determine that it. It means wherever we wanted to me. When you sing, songs is hail to the REDSKINS. Isn't that honoring the Redskins and.

"So we just have a couple of minutes here. These are the three conditions again. This is. Was written by a man named Mark share? I guess is how you may be pronounced it. A former student at the university of Illinois. He was a member of the Illinois student Senate and was involved in the the battle or they the attempts anyway at trying to find a new mascot for chief, align, I work. Anyway, he he did his own survey. Talked to a lot of students did his own research to the focus group with students and faculty and staff and alumni, blah, blah, blah, and he came up with three conditions that he feels Illinois. But I think you could you could put Marquette you could put somebody from Walla the east chimed in Walla does east Florida state still has their seminar of schools that have eliminated either logo or mascot. So we could say Marquette. Three conditions that need to exist before even a new symbol for athletics. Can come to be number one an entire generation must go by. Now, I'm assuming by that he saying that emotions run. So deeply that you need a full generation to have come and gone to get new kind of unadulterated blood on the topic before you can start thinking about something new. We twenty years is that fair fifteen. Well, if we just take collegiately, I would say, at least what eighteen years, you need to know that you need a new, you know. A whole generation of college students in there eighteen years ago with an entire generation must go by. We're at least that with Marquette. We are over it. I mean, we are because I yes, I was young that's one Jenner about at least a generation into the Marquette for. Sure. No there are some and including one who's going to be in this room and eleven minutes who I know still call them the Marquette warriors. But I'm telling you as that the game, for example on Sunday. They're not thinking students all they know are the golden eagles. But for the people who went through it alumni fans, or we're just simply here for it. I mean, that's that is there's no budging on that topic. But again an entire generation has come now. And they're in the golden eagles camp. Okay. Second condition was that our revenue sports specifically, men's basketball and football. And that's you could save pretty much for every every athletic department need to be experiencing success. So in order for conditions to exist for a new mascot, a new logo, a new nickname. You need to have your revenue sports be successful. Why would that be that's tougher because it's easier to accept if the teams are winning teams winning two games a year in football and five games a year in basketball. Who've hard to throw out alma mater, if you will okay on the honor. Sorry, right. And here is the third condition. And this is one that I wholeheartedly embrace it needs to happen organically. I I feel that so often because of so many people being so upset with what they deem offensive mascot or nickname or logo. We're so offended. We can't have that. And suddenly, you're forcing these absurd ideas on people without allowing it to just just happen over time. Obviously, what is the biggest example here the Marquette gold right down. And let's be honest. The golden eagles as well. Because that was kind of like, here's your choice, A B or C. What do you want to vote for right? I mean, if you have an administration that is forcing a new logo, a new mascot, a new nickname. It never sits. Well, I think because people don't like that. They don't like the chains told what to like. Yeah. They don't wanna being forced upon them. But also simply. I mean. Oftentimes, those ideas back the flat out bad if not altogether stupid. See that's why gritty works so well the flyers and because it's ridiculous. And that was the point and especially for colleges you need to go. Crazy, not all mater, which is what they're considering Illinois otter thing walking around. No, no, not Clark the cub. No gritty forever gritty. "I guess is how you may be pronounced it. A former student at the university of Illinois. He was a member of the Illinois student Senate and was involved in the the battle or the the attempts anyway at. Trying to find a new mascot for chief align Iraq. Anyway, he he he did his own survey. Talked to a lot of students did his own research to the focus group students and faculty and staff and alumni, blah, blah, blah, and he came up with three conditions that he feels Illinois. But I think you could you could put Marquette you could put somebody from Walla towards the east chimed in Walla does east. Florida state still has their summit. I'm trying to think of schools that have eliminated either a logo or mascot. So we could say Marquette. Three conditions that need to exist before even a new symbol for athletics. Can come to be number one an entire generation must go by. Now, I'm assuming by that he's saying that emotions run. So deeply that you need a full generation to have come and gone to get new kind of unadulterated blood on the topic before you can start thinking about something new. So what are we twenty years is that fair fifteen? Well, if if we just take collegiately, I would say, at least what eighteen years, you need you need a new, you know, a whole generation of college students in there eighteen years ago with an entire generation must go by. We're at least that with Marquette. We are over it. I mean, we we are because I yes, I was as young it's one Jenner. Yeah. We're at least a generation into the Marquette for sure no there are some including one who's going to be in this room and eleven minutes who I know still call them the Marquette warriors. But I'm telling you as that the game, for example on Sunday. They're not thinking those students all they know are the golden eagles. But for the people who went through it alumni fans, or we're just simply here for it. I mean, that's that is there's no budging on that topic. But but again an entire generation has come now. And they're in the golden eagles camp. Okay. Second condition was that our revenue sports specifically, men's basketball and football. "Record. The twelfth ranked golden eagles to eighteen and three overall seven and one in the big east Xavier falls to eleven and ten and three and five in folks. Ten teams in the big east and eight have at least four losses to this a very balanced. It is a man you gotta strap it on every night. Talk about bruised battered. But not beaten man, it's it's it's tough sledding with up after Villanova. And then Marquette, man, it's an absolute streetfight just the way the late. Great Al McGuire would want it the former Marquette warriors head coach Manson, great memories. Really appreciate Greg noble. The former Executive Sports editor of the Cincinnati inquirer. Man, one of my regrets. I never got to work four grade at the inquirer thirty years at the Dayton daily news, but great great times as a sports writer got up to Milwaukee numerous times and just love Marquette university really as much as I love savior. So Catholic university in in Milwaukee, hashtag be the difference. That's the that's the motto of the school and Al McGuire live every day is if it were Saturday night my rule was I wouldn't recruit a kid if he had grass in his in front of his. House. That's not my world. My world has a crack. Sidewalk dean manager was quicker than the eleven fifteen mass at a seaside resort. I'm not saying that they were Eisenstein in Al Maguire's talked about his players. They were marginal students, but every ball player who ever touched me. His moved up his station in life in the players moved up my station. I think everyone should go to college and get a degree. And then spent six months as a bartender in six months as a cab driver, then they would really be educated. And then help one kid at a time. He'll maybe go back and help a few more. And in a generation, you'll have something the iconic. Al mcguire. Let's go out to the phones. Mike wants to talk. Some hoops. Hey, Mike, what's going on? All right, man. Hey, those are the golden days of the Marquette. The uniforms. The mecca.

"And we begin with his Muskateers a game you heard right here on the big one Xavier put up a great fight. But couldn't quite Caulker the Marquette golden eagles. It was Marquette prevailing. At the cintas center. Eighty seven to eighty two the twelfth ranked golden eagles improve to eighteen and three overall seven and one in the competitive big east Xavier falls to eleven and ten in three and five in the big east. Folks, there's ten teams in this conference in eight have at least four losses. You talk about competitive you've got to Villanova at the top. And they're undefeated they play tomorrow and then Marquette at seven in one, and then a whole bunch of others and a stack cough. And it's going to be it's just a war every night in this in this league in it's going to continue that way, I do see improvement Xavier Dave got talent. And it's just a matter of really putting it all together and they put together a fantastic effort shooting over fifty percent from the floor today. But the difference in this game Marquette burying fourteen of twenty five three point shots. Fifty six percent. Are you kidding me? It didn't they nail seventeen twenty free throws in Marcus Howard, the biggies leading score. He Rupp's for thirty one point nineteen in the second half. And then you've got to Joey Hauser with twenty one and Sam Houser which Wendy and on this side of the stat sheet four players in double figures led by Tyree Jones and Paul Scruggs with twenty one each in Jones checking in with a double double with eleven rebounds and news twenty one points. Scruggs is stat sheet was awesome. Twenty one points. Four rebounds, five assists, no turnovers and three steals. So he he's doing it all and tyreek Jones really stepping forward for savior musketeers at eleven and ten they're still to me a dangerous team that it's just a matter of putting it all together and trying to make a run in this game. Xavier had a nice lead. And then all of a sudden at fifty eight to forty seven at eleven point lead with fourteen minutes to go in this game, the largest lead for the musketeers. And then they go on a a big time. Three minutes scoring drought where Marquette reels off eight straight points recaptures the lead at seventy one to sixty nine and then pulled away and dealt with two minutes to go in this game. Marquette leads seventy nine to seventy one and Xavier just kept chipping away. But Marquette made your free throws and the final eighty seven to eighty two an electric atmosphere at cintas center today, but somewhere, ladies and gentlemen, the late great Al McGuire is smiling. Now, hopefully, you're old enough. Like me to remember, the great, Al McGuire is awesome, a basketball coach is he was you talk about colorful. The guy from New York City, man, he just had. He was just unbelievable. If you remember, Al McGuire, and is great a coaches he was that at all standing of a commentator and just just a tremendous person. I'm going to unleash some of his quotes. Just just an unbelievable person. And if you want to check in and talk some basketball, that's what we're leading with. We're gonna get into some bangle talk. We're talk some Cincinnati Reds. I want to talk about what I think the lineup should look like this year with the Cincinnati Reds who should play centerfield. I got my ideas. I want year ideas to as we inch closer to opening day. And there's never been banned in recent memory a baseball season. I'm looking so much forward to is far as the Cincinnati Reds are concerned. Almaguer when I think of Marquette, I mean, just a collage memories come flooding back starting with with big Al on Balibo in his players back in seventy seven when they won the championship. Bo Ellis, Butch Lee Jerome Whitehead Jimmy Boylan Bernard to Gary Rosenberg and Bill neary, seventy seven NCWA champions, help out the untucked, uniforms. Remember that where L McGuire allowed one of his players bow to design the uniforms, and yet they played in those uniforms and those uniforms untucked were eventually outlawed by the NCWA. They played an incredible place called the mecca arena in Milwaukee. Man back then they were the warriors. Now, they are the golden eagles. But I love the city. I love the Catholic university hashtag be the difference in. I even love. A certain restaurant right next to the Hyatt in downtown Milwaukee L Calderon, if you've ever been there that Italian food in the Italian cuisine is absolutely superb, and I was lucky enough to to get up to Milwaukee. A handful of times is the right state university beat writer, this is back in the old mid con conference. Now, the horizon league in right state played Cleveland state, Detroit, Milwaukee Green Bay a lot of big cities. And it was just it was just awesome to travel around. And then a couple of times when Wright state was playing the university of Wisconsin Milwaukee in the mecca Dayton the Dayton. Flyers were playing the Marquette warriors slash golden eagles at the Bradley center, right down the street. So I got to stay over a day or so and catch the flyers and the the golden eagles at the Bradley center. So I noticed when I went to lunch during those days. Everybody in every restaurant is drinking a beer, man. I thought you know, Cincinnati's the beer capital of the world. But marks put Milwaukee is right there. Just unbelievable place. And yes, it gets cold up in Wisconsin. No doubt in the winter months, but Al McGuire had a way of recruiting players from the east coast from really from everywhere. And remember the days when Marquette was an independent and Creighton was an independent the travel in. Jay's remember those guys where disgraceful could guarantee a player a trip to all fifty states within a four year span. So you really a golden candy era back then in the late seventies and Almaguer one one NCWA championship nineteen seventy seven over the North Carolina tar heels and you've got memories of Almaguer would love to hear from you. And his motto live. Every day as if it were Saturday night, and man it is Saturday night right now in the Marquette golden eagles chop down the Xavier musketeers in a fantastic game..

"Phone number has accurate mortgage slapped all over it. And if there's anybody that shouldn't be objected to change names as John Wyatt's. Anyway, if you didn't hear the news comes along we have going to web. But that American family is going to take over the naming rights for Miller park. Miller still has two years left under its twenty year lease but I'm predicting that they might buy those out. Otherwise, what's the point of doing the marketing, you know, why why have American family even announce it now unless they're going to try to get it on their instantly unless the name of the company is just something really goofy your bizarre weird. I don't much care at. It's just amazing adaptive we are. And how quickly the one thing. The one name change that we've had around here that I've noticed that. Nobody ever really jumped to we still refer to the market center for the performing arts is the PAC. It's the only one I can think of though where you change the name, and everybody's still using the wrong older name, usually. Well, that's not really pulse at Marquette warriors. Nobody calls the warriors anymore, but that took a while. But I mean like a possibility or a name, you know, a namesake the Bank has just talking to somebody about that a couple of days ago. He said he thinks probably most of the people who go to Marquette the students, they don't even know they ever were warriors. But that's that's that's been that think about that one that was ninety four also that's a quarter century. I think it was eighty four. It wasn't it was during deleo. So what a quarter for century quarter per century. False. Nobody says they're taking the hop. Well that actually is its name. But I'm in defiance on that. I'm just gonna keep calling it the trolley only because I know that beer a hate Barrett hates that. All right. Here's the we're going to do right now. You just heard that a little bit of bumper music. That's probably or tip off to know. What's going to happen here? We're gonna take caller number forty right now.
