"You're listening to the oil and gas this week podcast with Martin liqueur and decor vizo. Were busy or growth quickly. Want to keep their finger on the pulse of what's going on guys. Welcome back sued of oil and gas. This week. You said one ninety-six we are four away from two hundred mark. Yeah we have some plans for two hundred chooses not quite locked down yet but a Susan get locked down. We'll let our audience know 'cause we're planning to do something really cool and speaking of some really cool big shutout to how'd you first thing Jake. Raheel Raheel Garcia. He one of the IBM shirts and he was nice enough to snap a picture of it along with the OJ. Jian Tumbler and shoot out to us. And it's just really cool. He's a chemical engineering graduate student and he gives us big Kudos and also our sponsor. Ibm for keeping him updated as news and trends so big shoutout. We appreciate you wearing a shirt. And then Jake. I just came back from Calgary of doing the speaking for Ibero. In Calgary in one of the audience members had the shared. It's just cool to see our giveaways all over the world and people are happy to show off to us. That is pretty awesome and speaking of awesome. We also has some great reviews as you guys have left. Obviously that's the way you support us and keep us doing what we're doing. This one says excellent content for the latest news and trends in the oil and gas market five stars from Rob They write these guys on top the industry news and provide valuable insights breakdown current trends and you willing gas market super helpful. Keep the comic We will get to the news because we got something going on. It's affecting all of us right now. Yeah so I was Kinda looking forward to going to Sierra week this week and I just saw this morning as you did. Mark that Serre. Week is cancelled. Due to the CORONA VIRUS OUTBREAK HYSTERIA. That is spreading across the world. And we actually we were supposed to leave. Aberdeen Launch Sales and marketing. Podcast tomorrow and I actually cancel that trip. That won't be real clear here. I'm not worried about the virus at all. The virus is not that bad more people die of the flu by far than the crow. Vars the problem. Is that the news agencies overreacting like they do about everything and now. The government's are starting to overreact. And so the problem is the UK has just been stepped up to level three health threat by the CDC which means that when we come back from the UK. We could be quarantined if somebody in her plane is tested. Positive or looks like they have the quote of ours. And I just can't take that chance of me and my people some making decision to keep people safe not from the virus but for being quarantine when we come back and I totally get out. Seir we kind of make a judgment call. You know this is probably would guess. Millions of dollars lost revenue for the city of Houston and all the the hotels and restaurants and venues sorta stuff. There's also a lot of money being lost by. Ihs market who puts his thing on at the same time. They can't take that negative black. I in public or something bad would happen. It's hard call. It was a really hard. Call me today to cancel our trip. We lost some money on this but I thought was the right thing to do. My people safety comes first. I think that's what's going on here seer week. Which is a shame that the media on both political sides just loves to GRAB ANYTHING AT CAIN of blown out of proportion. Yeah it seems. Obviously there's been a lot of deaths but I think comparatively speaking I think it is a been blown a little bit out of proportion but you know I agree with. Ihs Is better than story. There was people from eighty different countries. We're supposed to be participating. Shell that travel and being on a lot of other people and whatnot who knows maybe the entire willingness to wipe out by Kern virus and just one event. Well I'll tell you what it's affecting the stock market like. I don't even want to look at my investment portfolio right now and I know it's a perception thing but perception in today's constant always on social media world. Perception can move the needle a lot. I mean this is a perfect example of it and that's Jake's Co host by the way you heard barking background so speaking of Tech. Let's a little happier technology. Teaming up creating a market that could grow five hundred percent in the next five years. The oil and gas energy tech community didn't really exist a few years ago. And so we've been talking about this for a long time saying that companies need to be focused more on digital services digital transformation most need to become data companies first and foremost not just any willing guests industry but everywhere and now we're seeing that was. Barkley's thing was one who did the reporting of Barclays the report saying that the oil focused it'll services industry will grow from less than five billion dollar market today to more than thirty billion dollar market annually over the next five years in the upstream market alone leading to one hundred fifty billion in savings for oil producers. Thirty billion dollars just from the digital just from upstream. That's a big company. If you're thirty billion dollars a year company so that the potential there jake you and I and all of our peers have talk about this for years for years. So this is not news to you and me. I think it's interesting to see what I would consider. Almost a bit of a hypocritical approach so some of the really big technology vendors that are out there that are coming into the oil and Gas Industry. That are looking quite honestly to make money in our making money from us at the same time. Don't want it to publicly. That are doing work in our industry. That just bothers me right whether we have a difference in opinion on climate change in the how much hydrocarbons contribute to that and man's activity should be that. If you're coming in and helping US and making money off us be proud of it and if you think we're in this energy transition period a time be okay with helping the gas companies. Make that transition. If that's what really happens but don't hide from your shareholders and from your public and say that you don't support the hydrocarbon industry at the same time. You're spending money making money you know working in the oil and gas she's bought bothers me. Yeah the CEO of a cow. Which Company was Alabama? I can't think of his name is Sonya Nadalo them. It's Microsoft right with Microsoft. Yeah Yeah Yeah So. He was quoted as saying wasn't actually in this article. I read last week that big part of their cloud services offerings with their azure platform. He saw a lot of room for optimization through digitalization with things like their platform in the energy industry so actually that was kind of peculiar that he actually said that in a conference yet. It's interesting Eh. Don't WANNA get too deep into the names of the big tech companies. And who's doing what? But there's definitely a difference in approach in how they're dealing with US publicly and I think the ones that are able to come to the table. Say Yes we're working with Chevron or slumber J. or Halliburton or whatever and we're helping them and there'd be an open honest and transparent about I think we're GONNA get more business than the ones that publicly say. We don't like fossil fuels yet. Their sales teams are calling on the saints companies. So if you have an idea or something you want to pursue anyone guess industry. There's never been a better time than now. We've seen all the biggest waffled service companies As the Baker Hughes Halliburton all gearing up to become more of a digital service company than National Physical Service Company so the writings on the walls. We've had more and more venture capital flow into the space we've ever seen before we're seeing tons of exits so it's it's really really exciting time to be in the space. I know it's a lot of doom and gloom in the industry and we've been talking a lot of that but the means there's a lot of opportunity as well. Yeah I mean look at all. The big oil comes internal venture groups. They're not doing that to flip. Companies make a profit. They're doing that. Look if the next great thing to help them compete and they finally realized that the next great thing may not come from a large corporation may come from a two man startup in Lafayette Louisiana. Orrin somewhere Cairo Egypt or whatever so to your point you know if you have a good idea if you see a problem that you can solve and you understand at least at a high level how the oil and gas industry works and you have that entrepreneur. Spirit is probably the best time in history few to pursue absolutely Saudi Aramco is investing one hundred ten billion dollars today Jeff your unconventional gas field. So this is supposed to yield approximately eight point six billion dollars annually providing GDP with twenty billion dollars annually while creating job opportunities. Funny thing is I actually thought the markets were going to respond a little bit to this but however there's been practically no movement as a result of this announcement. Natural gas is interesting. It's definitely the fuel of the future is definitely a moneymaker in the future. But it's just the price is just so who low right now and that's part because it's hard to move around we'd have it built the LG factories that are needed to compress it a gas. We haven't built enough offloading terminals enough importing terminals enough regasification plants. Enough Ellen G offshore carriers. But we're come and that growth phase where we're building the infrastructure. They can the next couple of years as as more and more that infrastructure comes online. And you start moving more and more energy around the world. Think you could see the prices go up. It is interesting though because I was thinking about this other day. You know one of the projections that both BP. And Mackenzie is. They're looking at the future out to twenty fifty. And they're projecting there's GONNA be a decline in the need for fuels from hydrocarbons gasoline. Diesel that sort of stuff and the reason I think there's GonNa be a decline is the increase in electric vehicles. And this is kind of in the back of my head for a while. It's like you know when I think about breakthroughs in technology. So you think about the Ubers of the world does that cause people to use less vehicles of more vehicles as the price comes down and as get easier to use something. Think of your cell phone as the prices come down because it's not that long ago where it's very expensive to call. Cellphone and dad was prohibitively expensive as the price is down. Do More people use it? So I'M GONNA actually go on record and I think that as we move in the future. I think the demand for fuels from from hydrocarbons is actually GONNA go up. I think with things like ride shared smart cars self driving cars. More people have access to it and I think it's good drive. The demand up electrical vehicles are great. They really are. We need a breakthrough battery technology. But because you don't have that transmission because you have a hundred percent torque at one. Pm The motor could be connected directly to wheel. You'll have that twenty percent loss and then you're not dumping all that wasted energy as heat. We need a battery breakthrough. But you know the more I think about. It becomes cheaper and cheaper and easier easier. I think the opposites gap. I don't think the demand for vehicles that RUN INTERNAL COMBUSTION. Engines are actually can make up. Let's see if I'm still around twenty fifty from right all right. Speaking of emissions in natural gas denver-based summarize energy use operations are concentrated in the Permian Basin and mid continent wasn't active participant in how national policies are set for environmental stewardship. But I want to walk the why. And so they are actually going to be tying executive compensation directly to reducing their emissions. What do you think about that Jake? I think it's a smart move. I think ties into a bigger conversation. On governance and how executives have been compensated. Think it's just kind of basic psychology compensate people based on things that are actually good for the company. Good for the people get for the environment. Yeah we hope that. They're tying it to other things just emissions natural gas flaring. But I think this is a step in the right direction. So it's not the only that we've seen do this. There's been a few others so far camera off top my head but I think it's a step in the right direction. Yeah so I agree with you. This is a bit surprising. And of course we know why they're doing this because public perception. But I like the idea. I like the idea of tying executive compensation all gases something other than growth. Would this have been my first one? No would have been in my top ten list. I think it would have been because it's such an issue in the public right so I liked it. They're doing this. It is GonNa be interesting to see what happens. Does this affect the business in a positive way? You know. It's SORTA like hsen metrics for Very Long Time. People said that if you ran a solid HSE program with no loss time incidents it slowed down and eventually it was proven at the opposite. It's more efficient operation when people don't get hurt so this is sort of the same thing is by tying their executive competition to reducing emissions that make the company better and they perform better which would be better for their shareholders and their employees. Let's keep island because this is something different and I like the fact. They're willing to try some different public about slumber. J. Chief says that crazy show growth is a thing of the past. Obviously we saw a cruiserweight approaching gross seen in the US shale last five years. I was butcher his name. But I think it's Olivier Pugh view only people the US at watch cartoons twenty years ago. What you're talking about which should be most people so the growth rate will slow considerably to six hundred thousand seven hundred thousand per day this year and even worse to just two hundred thousand barrels per day in twenty twenty one is what they are estimating and that strictly from Schlumberger. So I'M GONNA disagree with him. It's number one unfortunately. I love slumber. J. They're literally right down the street from our house. There north hecklers number one. They've done horrible in the. Us they do really well internationally but their business practices and needed to change compared to competitors and honestly Jake there dude. They're doing some stuff that just wild news. Actually in my predictions two years ago they started renting their tools competitors so they know they need to change in. They're trying to change. We'll production go down. I think production growth is going to slow down. Production itself is going to go down. I don't think so. I'm firmly convinced. His gooby new breakthroughs and processes and technology this year next year and the year after which continue to lower costs and drive efficiencies. Now will we ever see the growth in shale like we did ten years ago? No but you gotta take that in context. It's sort of like if you have one dollar so gives you another dollar where you just grow that. One hundred percent sounds like a lot but it's only two dollars right so I think the growth rate will absolutely sit on Hasta. We'd have to have this market corrections happening right. Now do everything. It's going to decline. No Yeah I would have to agree with you. He's kind of saying the obvious but I wouldn't take it Definitely wouldn't say it's going to decrease Russians Wall but say what eleven if you'd like to come on our show and talk about it me. Jake could fit you in our schedule. Promise speaking of things like this largest bank in the. Us will not fund fossil fuel extraction in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Just that title alone is a little bit biased but it ties into the bigger conversation around. Jp Morgan which JP Morgan has funded more willing gas exploration than anybody ever by a long shot. It's like almost double testing on this. So this is GonNa be the first domino to fall In the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. And my guess is that this is not going to be the last year about this. This is going to expand as more banks more. Investors are wanting to divest at of oil and gas investments to meet. Es G quote unquote concerns. Yeah Jake so this is sorta like you and me and the rest of the OJ. Jian game going. Look we're drawn a line in the sand. We want support the environment. And we're pledging right now. Not Invest any money in Jilin. Toil in Hawaii. Well what's funny about that is? You're not going to draw our Hawaii right. You're just not GonNa do it so it's really easy to put our foot down. We're not GONNA do it. One of our listeners. Probably knows this but whatever the cost of crude has to be to make it economically viable to drill produced in the Arctic has to be around one hundred dollars a barrel. I mean maybe even more. The environment is so extreme logistics almost nonexistent the mount of redundancy and protection. You're going to have just to even drill. There is just drive costs route. I don't think anybody could do an Arctic. Now here's the flipside with though. Is that if anybody does drill an Arctic. It's most probably it'd be China and Russia can ask this question all the time. Have you ever heard of a Chinese or Russian oil spill answers? No that means one of two things that means one. They're better at it than American European companies or they don't tell so if anybody drills and Orrick you would want it to be one of the American League European you'd want it to be Shell or Exxon or BP or Chevron or whatever because if something bad happens not only with tell they'll spend the money in the time to clean it up and fix it. Where's the Russian Chinese companies won't and this is I think is a bit of a pure thing from J. P. Morgan Chase J. P. Morgan chases in the business of making money and if an all gas project makes money for them. They're going to do it but to your point Jake. It's getting to the point now that these conversations are moving the needle enough. It's perception is not reality. But it's moving the needle enough that big companies are making decisions that will affect their shareholders. But once again. This is a bit of a pure stunt. Nobody's looking to drill in the Arctic. National Wildlife Refuge now anyway but it will keep an eye on. This really doesn't mean much of anything. Some kind of on the same topic. Democratic presidential candidates are courting Oklahomans for votes. We've seen that Elizabeth Warren we've seen Bernie Sanders. Actually think almost everybody who has been a Democratic candidate. Even Pete Budi who I guess just dropped. That is well is calling for some sort of ban on fracking or anything having to do with oil and Gas Brush in Charlotte. I don't get me started. You remember rusted. This year's Year muck of shy away from politics. I saw your facebook. You're like I'm double talk want superfluid. This is ridiculous number one. It won't happen right the moment. You can't heat your home the moment you can't afford gasoline your car. You vote for somebody else. Just ask the people in California that moving to Texas the reason to move to Texas. They can't afford living their own state anymore. The reason they can't afford to live on their own state is because the politics they support drops the cost of living to the roof right so then they have to move out of their own state because of the way they approach politics all of the democratic nominees are future nominees all support some type of attack on the oil and gas industry. And it's just it's just ask tonight. Yes absolutely religious. It's just posturing and literally they don't understand business and it drives me crazy and I know why they are doing it. Drives me crazy is people that should be more intellectual about it art. It's an emotional response to support this type of stuff and it just. It just needs to stop. Do I think it's GonNa Stop? No Do I think that all guests entreat has got to the point where there's tired of this. Yeah we're actually working on something. That probably won't come out until twenty twenty one whereas the organization is go head to head with these guys. 'cause this is this hurts every by now who wins. The election is force Republican or Democrats. That's still a wait and see where that goes up. Put my two cents already on trump and I don't like the guy a whole bunch. I like a lot of stuff he does but Jake let me ask you. This voted early. Sub Voted early last week. Did you even know? There's any republicans run against trump. Now I didn't I didn't either tell it to vote like that's how big a lead has mindshare. He has in my head. I didn't even know there. Other Republicans running and there are so you know. Let's see where this goes. The problem with the Democratic Party in the Republican Party has had the same problem the probably Democrat Party. Is You have an extremist which is sanders and what he's going to do if he captures enough attention enough of the votes. He's GonNa Split the party up which then decreases their ability to put. Somebody in office will definitely decrease their ability to hold the house. So I think they're their own worst enemy and I think some of the moderate Democrats no it and by the way people. I'm not a staunch Republican. I'm a moderate. Socially of extremely liberal believe in smaller government believe in good fiscal policies. Good national protection but socially I very very liberal about stuff so you know this whole attack all gas industry. You'd think advise votes just needs a stop absolutely and on the last article of this week. That's Kinda end on a high note. This article titled Big Money Still Oil and gas so while shale is obviously having a hard time. There have a whole retransmission pass onto investors in that part of the industry. There's still a lot of ways to make money in this industry which talked about that will keep losing sight of that perception that shale is all oil and gas. And that's just not the truth and so the fact that matters that it is hard to kind of find the same kind of returns that you would find with some of the oil and gas projects especially in the US British inside that. You really don't find those anywhere else as I. She's talking about some investors from the UK. And I haven't followed anything with your economy on that side but apparently it's extremely hard even to get like a five or six percent return on anything over there due to the kind of stuff and so all these guys are coming to the United States looking to will and gas industry saying we want you know a lot of guys are getting out. We want at and so two thousand eighteen alone. Oil and gas firms raised six hundred seventeen point four billion dollars in capital which is up seven percent on the year with loans and bonds accounting for ninety two percent of capital. Raised in the other thing. Is You a lot of people? Just keep country on upstream. Big Shout Meridian Group. They're building new. Davis refinery in North Dakota getting rebuild. The same thing in the Permian and this is a brand new refinery that super mind Super Super High Tech Very few people. They're they're GONNA make a hell return on their investment because you're using technology to do something that a lot of people don't think of the only GASINCI which is to turn hydrocarbons in something you can sell and they've totally modernize the process which is just genius. So they're still money to be made in this industry that five percent return UK. That's silly I can make more that just through and stuff into my mutual funds. It is interesting though to watch. What's GonNa Happen it upstream? I think we're GONNA see a bunch of consolidation in this pop my head other day. Jake and I sure hope I'm wrong about this. If you were a super major and you know that at some point in the future because things are imploded in the shell fields in North America. Let's say shall fills in the US in the All Saints and Canada. Would it be beneficial to you to help stroke the beliefs that there's no money to be made in upstream so there's investor so that the people get bought quicker Make sense of wrong about that. Just pop miss that. You know if I was a super major in my business plan isn't next quarter. Next year to next decade. I would be okay of stuff happened to make that more tank quicker second pickup assets for pennies on the dollar you know and once again. I don't know if that's happening. I don't know how you do that as long as it's legal though it would be fair in business as long as it's ethical. If that's sort of things going on it just you know it's the same way. We picked up a competitor. We would want them to be as least valuables possible so he could pick them up for the least amount of cash our pocket so just popped my head. Have you know data new conversations of support that but I'm starting to take all of these doom and gloom shell fields articles with a grain of salt? Because that one thing because I know I know the super majors are making money in the shell fields and I know they just started and they have a lot of plans for growth and expansion and they wanna do it as cheap as possible because they want to make sure they're doing right by their investors and their shoulders their employees. So keep an eye on this but I think for my predictions for twenty twenty one. This might work. Its way in their absolutely and that wraps up all the stories for this week. You guys know what's happening next week. I Freddie a so many questions please write in. Don't try to stump us. What's at answering for you and we're going to give away. Obviously Raheel got a shirt These shirts are really cool that we spent money on their cut for both men and women. They have a print of Antique Pump. Jack on the front though gene logo on one shoulder IBM logo and other shoulder. And the most valuable thing is under the left part of the pump. Jack print is a unique. Cyril reach a unique number. Which makes it instantly collectible and me. Jacobs start giving away some really cool stuff basement number so if you have that shirt you might want to save it you know. Ask Your Wife where she preserved for wedding dresses. Bring Your Obgyn shirt preserved just like our wedding dress but then write that number down so that you know what? That number is funny shaky. Watch you and I regret not winning the shirt five years now. What people are selling for twenty thousand dollars each and Jake and I can't win them under the rules because obviously IBM's a sponsor for the show which by the way big shadow to IBM. I spent some time with some of their leaders in Calgary after the conference that we spoke out and Jake. They're doing some incredible stuff at one of the things I really like about that. They're so under the radar. They have so much domain expertise. I literally had a room full of geoscientists. Petroleum engineers geophysicist in August project manage that worked for. Ibm talk about how we can work together and help promote more stuff they were doing. It was just amazing to see August expertise on. Ibm's payroll big shout. They're they're doing some really cool stuff. We've got more to come from them. And then St teams join a street team. We're finally getting some swag big shout. The Catherine an attempt for getting the logo work completed for the street team shirts at is stunningly cool. Go to facebook. First Friday Q&A on Oil and Gas This Week OGTW0188

"You're listening to the oil and gas this week podcast with with Martin liqueur and decor Vizo for physio improve quickly. Want to keep their finger on the pulse of what's going on gas. Welcome back some of their suit of willing gas this week. Listen to episode one hundred eighty eight and like a lot of episodes the first Friday. QNA So it is the first Friday of the month. You guys ask questions in which had to answer them. So what's going on mark what's going on as we total accidentally. Have this one out and release when it actually is the first Friday which we never do. Hey Jake have you upgraded to Mojave yet. Apple OSX Mojave. It's Catalina Catalina. I'm sorry you're right. It is Catalina. But have you upgraded. I have not because of Britain's computer. Yeah I had issues with two thing. I'm slight disappointed. Is I usually don't have problems. Apple upgrades or apple products at all and it was a bit disappointing so I actually had to restore ormeau machine from time capsule and then install it the second time and it worked well but come on apple a little bit more quality control before you release something absolutely. I think it's it's kind of ridiculous for company any of that size and the other day the APP store the itunes store itunes music all that was down for about six to eight hours which I think is also kind of ridiculous for a company of that size I do like the split up. They got rid of separate APP now on the desktop for podcast INFRA MUSIC FOR TV. That happened because I got to clunky. Yeah too many there. It was too many features kind of jam packed into one APP so anyway. I'm sure nobody wrote a question about apples. Offer grades. What questions do we have? Jake our we got a lot of questions this month. So let's just dive right in. So we've got questioned from pre from Calgary rotate guys love the show. This is the first show of sort of listening to when I was introduced to the podcast. Two Years Ago Joan. I've been hooked ever since will thank you for listening. Appreciate it. Question is that I recently heard an interview with the author of the book. Saudi America that talks about the faults of the energy industry and fracking. Have you read this book or have any thoughts on this and they put into the book in there as well so both of us have actually read this book. I read it last month. He was a great read mark. Did you WANNA start off. And then I'll I'll pick it up so I actually also read it to which I think this is the first time he asked about a book and we both actually read it. Not Superfan of the book. And they don't do much bashing about fracking. What she really talks about is the the business model is not legit and that is not a long term game? It's more of a short term game in the future of it's very very unclear. A lot of people out there a lot of very smart people out there would agree with her about that. I don't agree with that. Were taken up probably get a little bit lit further down the road and then she does bash us a little bit as far as countries. US is not being caught up with the rest of the world is harsh renewables. I don't really have an opinion that one way or the other energies energy and whatever our mixes this is different with other countries. Mixes that will change every month as go through but if you're an oil and gas injuries actually a worthwhile greed. Because she gives you a different point of view than a lot of people were talking talk about the shell fields. You know just a couple of years ago. Yeah absolutely so I guess answer to this question shortly and that superfan of the author of the book which is Bethany McLean. She's written a few things. I'm not really agree. With all of her stance on on a lot of things that she talked about publicly alison follow her super religiously. So I don't know necessarily all of her stances on everything but just a few. I've heard I don't necessarily agree with Saudi America. That was a good book in terms of documenting kind of the shale boom a particularly follow the story of Aubrey mcclendon. Who who is you know? The famed godfather of Shale or one of 'em popularized it and helped kind of bring show what it is today. And if you're not familiar with Aubrey mcclendon he. He's the CEO Cofounder of Chesapeake Energy. which is still a huge company today worth a lot less now than it was then? This is a very broad question so I'm trying to hone in on on which part actually tackle here shale as a business model I believe extremely broken looking at tons and tons of data when I'm not podcasting. That's what I spent a lot of my time doing doing with one of our teams are going through and looking at a lot of the tight curves for pretty much every shield basin in the US currently and there's a huge huge issue with the capital structure and chill and kind of leave it at that. It doesn't mean the Walzer necessarily bad just being that wants the money is the flows from the wellhead. There's not a Lotta returns that are pass pass onto the investors and so as an industry like the top twenty fractures in the US. Burn through two hundred eighty billion more than they've made over the past ten years in so Wall Street is beginning to wonder under. When are we going to get paid? You know what are we gonNa make our money when we make our money back and it's it's we'll higher prices are coming. Oh we're getting better at the process shale. How much more time do you absolutely need? And it's not say that the walls are bad. It's not to say that this is shale is going to be completely over. There's going to be a major. Restructuring is a lot of things that are going to happen in the industry. They're absolutely essential shoulder that are necessary as we talked about numerous times over the past few episodes. There's GonNa be a significant amount of bankruptcies more mergers and acquisitions but it's all for for the greater good shells not going anywhere but schilling. Its current form is not sustainable. It is not sustainable without major injections of cash when that cash dries up. You don't really have any any options especially when he got a significant amount of outstanding debt. If you can't go out there you can't drill your returns in and you can't necessarily stop drilling because in your production production stops so therefore your revenue tank so therefore you can't make payments can't even make interest payments on the debt you know especially if you're two three four x eleven up like most of these guys are GonNa Pretty bad position you know so. It isn't quite sustainable in its current form but I think there's a version two point. Oh or whatever version you WANNA call. Well it'll be kind of making its appearance here so so I agree with everything you everything you said Jake. A lot of people are industry and upstream or started talk with this as as being unsustainable single model a special around Capitol FINCI's. This is what I think's GonNa Happen. I agree I mean absolutely you crunch number one hundred percent. This is what he thinks happened though. Just like offshore was a bunch independent operators in the forties and fifties the major start at Capitalizing off shore. The same thing happened to land so one thing is people talk about the decline curve. Yes decline curve is very short for show well but you have to remember even the best operator only gets fifteen percent of hydrocarbons out the ground which leaves eighty five percent of them there. There's a bunch of new well stimulation techniques techniques. Come let's go open up that decline curve now. The only companies have enough money and enough scientific horsepower to come up with new well stimulation techniques. And I'm talking about things like nanoparticles particles biologicals or the majors right at the same time. The majors own when they come into shelby by the mineral rights. They don't lease them. So that gives him a thirty cents to a dollar fifty more barrel for profit and they don't have to go in production the independence by contract half to go and production to hit certain production metrics wchs and it's like this domino game right so the independence drill. They drilled a bar cash they make money and then they bar more casual the next well but the majors will have to operate that way. So I think you could see some scientific breakthroughs in the next couple of years combined with the capital efficiency driven by the majors once. You don't have to borrow money from Wall Street. And at the same time owned the minarets I think the Shell Games rock-solid game think you see it spread globally once we figure out would you call it shall two point. Oh that's a good name for it. What's we figure out? Shell two point. Oh I think that process and the way that's done those techniques will be just a replicate around the rest of the world are they could speak about ten years to get there but but as far as the book. It's worth reading eating like Jake said not superfan of author but there's definitely changed come to shell fills for sure and fortunately it's because a lot of angst and hurt we just got to get through it. Yeah absolutely so great question up next question from Alex who self employed only retake is for taking the time out of your busy lives to inform and educate the masses a few questions. I'd like your opinion on first question with Ellen G fast becoming fuel of the future because it's abundant cheap and has a high combustion efficiency and clean more operators starting to require contractors and service companies like Cowburn Slumber J. and liberal services offer energy intensive operations such as fracking to offer fleets that run on natural gas. There's a start up out of Boston from MIT. I'm making predictions. Deliver Technology. That Powers Commercial Aircraft With Ellen G by twenty thirty to is this feasible with the FA grounding aircraft or simply for simple battery issues. Yes absolutely feasible. Does it make economic sense. So the problem with Ellen G is it does not have as many bt US per ounce of energy as jet fuel and when you're trying to lift airplane in the people in the cargo in the air you need as much power for the least amount of weight as possible and so will it work. Yes can you do it yes actually probably can do it now. Doesn't make economic sense. I don't think so so I think the economics will keep it from ever becoming a big thing. The other thing is is even if you run Ellen in jet turbine engine your co two emissions will be more or less the same as it would be if jet fuel jet engines are so efficient compared appear to piston internal combustion engines. That you basically get the same amount of missions per kilowatt of output. Regardless which pour into Jake. Abrams is Yup Yup M one. Abrams runs a jet turbine engine. Right you can pour anything into that engineer. Run you compare whisky. You can pour ethanol gasoline diesel kerosene and it will run servicing sing with commercial airline. They will run on anything but you want the most power for the least amount of weight as possible and liquids especially heavy. I mean you jet fuels around six pounds a gallon ellen the GOP is about five and a half pounds per gallon so you get so much more output from jets rallies don't see making economic sense anyway what's next question. I'm sorry Jake. Do you have a comment on it. No no I agree I agree. I haven't followed allergy as much as you have so I think that makes sense. Next question is also a newer politicians refused to issue permits the critical pipelines scheduled to bring natural gas to New York City on grounds of environmental concerns Winter Fast Approaching National Grid. The gas companies deny thousands of New York's businesses businesses gas until the pipeline is given the green light thoughts. So here's something I've been thinking about. Wild applies to California applies in New York as well so the reason that these people doc bill heat their homes in the winter is the political stance in the way they voted in the past and the past ten fifteen years right and so what happens is because of the way they vote politically. It drives the cost of living up. You're seeing is going on in California right now to the point where you can't your house in the winter right are you can't have electricity within these people people because the cost of living get so high move out of their states and they moved to places like Texas but they bring their political beliefs with them not understanding that is their political beliefs leased. That caused the cost In their state and so now worried about the other states that and we welcome you here in Texas. We welcome you anywhere in the country. And we're in world here it's great. It just understand that the way you vote in the way you think politically contributes the cost living. Please don't bring that to other states if you can't afford delivery go and you move realize it's your politics and just back up and try to figure out what the truth actually is. Yeah absolutely that's a really really good point especially because we're seeing a mass exodus from from from California from New York from the more expensive states to places like Texas. It's better here. It's such a big deal in that we've been paying attention to it. Always made it my predictions for twenty twenty. It didn't but it probably would have been number eleven. I 'cause it's GonNa then unfortunately what I don't want to see happen and I've seen it starting to happen now. I'm seeing a bits and pieces of here in Texas. Texas is the people from California are changing the political. Give and take that we have here in Texas a little bit more the left side and that's causing things it's like taxes and different types of incentives from the state government. That's could drive the cost of living up in here in Houston. This is probably one of the cheapest place I've lived anywhere in the world in. It's awesome I just don't WanNa see that change unless you are cheap lifestyle change. Yeah absolutely great question up next. We have another question from a more CEA. WHO's a special projects manager state of Wyoming? But you knew of any states that have combined oiling. Gas Rules for Osha if so can you give me any contact. Names emails thank you. Are you trying to pawn in your work on offense and more see. I think that's what you're doing. I don't know of any federal government. The states have their own rules and regulations. Osha has a bunch of have standards and rules around the oil and gas industry but it's at the federal level not the state level. I I can see states. Maybe that don't have a big budget or that believed leave the Osha rules and regulations are really good to adopt them per se. But I don't think that ever worked at the other thing would bobby about that. A little bit is state's rights you know. Does the federal federal government have the ability to come in you know and it forced their way on the states. They do at some point but at other times you know the states and you make those rules and regulations so hey if he might. Our audience knows of anybody that have combined all gas rules for Osha. Let us know. We'll connect you with Marsha or more see. Next is from an anonymous wireline. wireline engineer or civil service companies will man. This is long our guys. I think I have to read this to give context to Limoges Street. It go for so on your October. Seventh show you discussed diversity and specifically women in the well field one reason. I love your show always conversation even when readers in viewpoints that diverge so like to give you my perspective. I'm a second generation willing engineer working in Texas where the Petroleum Engineering degree. An almost three years of work specifically fieldwork experience. My overall opinion of women in the industry is that that efforts and it is true and sustained effort to hire them or hr deep quote unquote and often. I basically shallow attempt by a company to improve the public image by having acute cute engineering coveralls on their PR material. I work extremely hard. Climb under equipment and you covered with grease. I've done well working in the field in running a field crew mostly because they see I'm not afraid of jumping in and getting dirty even though I'm the engineer after work hard job successfully my husband died in Afghanistan and I have a disabled brother to support. I've I've been treated pretty well overall in the field by field personnel but who I felt truly mistreated and at times abused by is management. I've been terminated for for refusing a date refusing to date a former manager another place. I was often singled out for abuse and was often saved by other field engineers and cruise vouching for me. Many specific incidents too long explained here have happened that contribute to me saying that my experience at times has been pretty crappy industry. Statistics show that a lot of women are currently being higher higher but the numbers from the last couple of years show really poor attainment. Basically they aren't treated well and they leave while many people see me as being very successful in this business. I don't know if I'd recommend amended two women. HR overtures about diversity inclusion of protection from harassment or at best disingenuous and at worst mostly about protecting the company from being liable and harassment lawsuit. Making a good work environment for women is about respecting their hard work and effort not treating them like a diversity. Problem fairly compensating them and not firing them for refusing to sleep with a supervisor. I've grown tired of companies crowing to how they by F. R. Clothing for women and whatever else of course it's nice where you're F- are overalls also fit and I really would know but this is even better is being respected for working hard and being dedicated to your job. I know what you mean very well when talking about increasing in diversity inclusion of women but coming for women who've worked in the field for service companies industries a very long way to go to come to actually treating women well on a time line that goes beyond recruitment new hire orientation and procuring coveralls. Wow very well extremely well written you know almost wish I would have. We would read this ahead of time and maybe got your Mossy. ACL Jamie that her name to have them answer this question. Because I feel that it's almost it's not quite right for me to answer as a man which you know you and I've talked with us. A whole bunch of this is actually one of the most reoccurring things we get. We get different opinions about this and you know I. I'm sorry that you've been treated crappy. That's just not fair. The second thing is I just don't see it and I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm sure what you live. There is legit and true. You know everybody has a different viewpoint ever had everybody has different accesses. I'm almost was never in the field a tend to be in the corporate office of stuff but I do see it getting better. I remember when I got started. Twenty some odd years ago the only women you saw oil gas companies where admits and I just think it's super cool that now women are everywhere I mean I don't even think twice I mean you look at Obgyn we're over fifty percent females and that wasn't done on purpose it's no number I'm trying to hit we just hired the best we can just happens to be the limit over half of her women. What's your thoughts on this? Jake you know. I haven't seen it firsthand because for one I'm not a woman right so let's go ahead and establish that and I also having worked in the field but I can see some parallels between this and the Marines. Yeah I can see it and I had also talked to a few females who works in the field recently. If had the the pleasure of doing that and hearing some of their expenses their experiences and it's been a little bit less than wonderful for them and they're all actually looking to move nattily Manasota the industry but out of all fuel positions overall. So like. I said it's not for me to say that it does or doesn't happen because I wouldn't know but it is unfortunate that this has happened to you and so if you have more experiences like this or any other listeners. Right in let us know about it. I'm not sure we'll talk about every show but if something that there needs to be a light shined on this. Yeah and it's unfortunate so I guess we do have a long way ago industry. Yeah Yeah we definitely need to keep the dialogue going so the more all right and tell us about your experiences the more that we can share or your stories the better it is for everybody. Go to Jake's related next question is from Matthew Am W. e. m.. WD field engineer at Halliburton. This is not a question of something I would like to a share about diversity in our industry I work in the field mostly in Texas and Louisiana and I would not consider any racial or sexist or I've experienced any racial or sexist behavior behavior in my six year career as a field employees from what I noticed. Our district is hiring a lot more females as feel the employees and personally a handful that are in senior positions as well. My last Tarini was a female from India. In my experience rig hands go above and beyond to make sure that the work environment on the rea- suitable accommodating to females I attended many pre-tour and safety meetings where the topic was understanding that a female was on site in that we are all professionals in this industry so I can also see parallels between the Marine Corps as well in this just going from unit to unit the way that a lot of things were handled particularly females would change based on who the management was mark. Back when you were in the Marines. It probably wasn't females around no. Yeah there's there's a lot of people at least what I was in. I mean I was in ten years ago. But there was a lot of females and how they were treated and how they were included or excluded and activities really highly dependent upon the management. I could see the same thing being said about this case as well and when I say no there was no female infantry for tree there were women that worked in the Marine Corps. But they weren't ever in the battlefield. I actually so I have. I don't know if we should get that. have two opposing thoughts about that. I think it's awesome. Awesome that women in a ring core. Did you see the woman that made the. What's the army's arrange that you've cleaned the physical to become a ranger is incredible? Wow and the marines actually have one or two female fighter pilots which I think is incredible. You know once again. We as either marines or soldiers or airmen or sailors or field workers. You Know Jake I agree with you. A lot of it depends on the leadership and how they handle things but as a whole in between the armed services in the August issue I still think removing the right direction. We're not moving back to think it's getting better. Yup Yep absolutely so once again so we're getting different viewpoints on diversity. We've had more people writing about this topic then. I probably anything we've ever talked about Africa and so I'm now I'm curious. So if you have have an opinion or you have a good experience or about experience or something you WanNa say about diversity in the industry particularly in the field. That's where I think. We're kind of focused focused on right in. Let us know kind of curious to see where this goes to be honest as something that we should pay attention to add up next. We've got a question from Mikey who's Ahah. VP EP. At Prime Rock we're cost looking for new areas to investing whether there'd be different counties in the Permian or different leasehold if you're running a long-term mineral investment firm how would you pick areas that. We continue to see investment from operators in the long run. I think Mikey Sharia check when we answer question. Okay let me gather my thoughts. I just want to stab at first. So the thing is what happens is based in hot. Hot prices go up. And at some point the hotness doc miss drops prices past the point of being economically viable people still buy which is fuels that need to buy a middle right sort of like the whole EMU thing remember ten years ago. Everybody's is raising 'em US and they would raise them to sell the eggs to other people that wanted to raise amuse but there was no income for the issues. So it imploded and you know the Permian is probably right there right now. Now other than the super majors own acreage. So but you know if I was looking at longer term ended also depends long-term. Is I'M GONNA say long term means ten years I would look hard at the editor. Kobe's in Oklahoma the restriction there to castrate there is infrastructure and a lot of money. Tom's being put into that. I think you could see another boom there. Once infrastructure. She gets in place. I think you're just ride ahead of it just by a year year or so. That would be the first place I would look up from by the way Jake and are not professional what we aren't professionals. But don't take don't invest any money based upon advice. Go do your due diligence research so agreed at. I have inside information on on any hot plays. I probably have just as much information as you. But in terms of what my process would be to find that has ever looked the data. I'd find good areas that people just haven't realized are good areas. The only way to do that is to crunch a significant the amount of data. And be a little bit contrarian right you know. We're seeing a lot of the premiums. Obviously it's extremely hot. It's probably too hot. It's a little bit overvalued especially for mental perspective. It just seeing some of the prices that we're seeing I think it's just absolutely astronomical so we're looking at possibly some areas that are haven't necessarily seen some lovely league but have a lot of potential you perma same way permanently conventional for a long time and it wasn't until Friday Jim around that it became you know super-popular popular again in the that became the play you know and so I think there's other there's other areas but I think in order to to really make good decisions data driven decision and I think you can do a ton of research before you buy anything. That's how you guys are doing that. But that's just that's exactly what I would do. That's awesome advice Jay. Because you're right a lot of people still to the by based on emotions like I think that's a great place instead of actually crunching the data or you can have a business model. That's built one hundred percent on selling dish mucks. Who are willing to pay? Seems like that's what half the the mineral buyers business model is so but I would highly suggest against that consist once those guys bust by from you. Yup agreed all right up next. We got a question from James's geoscience student at the University of Adelaide geologist student. Working hard to prepare for a career in oil and gas every talk about renewables and their part in energy but not much about nuclear energy nuclear potentials replace gas as the energy of the future leather. Show please keep doing what you're doing. Hell yes but it won't out because a Greenpeace post. Put It on the table so nuclear Israel hot during the seventies not just here in. US With all over the world and seventies nuclear power production was is way more dangerous and weighed less. Efficient is now Greenpeace started. Thuggery store anti-nuclear in so now from a emotional point of view most the people in the world other than the Japanese don't what nuclear electrical generations. It is by far the safest way to generate electricity. Believe it or not if you look at the stats S- long term. And and now that we're going from fusion you're talking about exponential increase in the billy just produce electricity and basically have almost nothing left over right and and so but politically and emotionally. The world doesn't want to fool with nuclear has really adorn shame hoping somewhere in the future and it probably won't be in my lifetime but somebody comes back. Can you know figures out how to change the Pinion of most of the world because nuclear is a fantastic alternative. They just nobody wants to do it because of Greenpeace. Yeah I agree you will get some hate mail and that one watch up next question from William who's in operations coordinator. He writes in the last first Friday Cuban af so Dada question from some of the UK looking for a way to get experienced that would aid him and breaking into scheduling logistics inventory. Planning I work in the inspection and testing side of the business and we interface with schedulers daily daily in fact our role is very similar to theirs. Inspection companies could be a good way for UK listener to get experience in Hydrocarbon Measurement Laboratory. Already testing antigen north knowledge of how cargoes of physically moved in the field and some knowledge of commercial terms governing transfers. I work at 'em. Specht competitors similar to US would be bureau bureau very toss Intertek and came in cargo control in S. GS maybe this would help him. Thanks for the ratio and keep it. You gotTa love our listeners. Jake here so I. I took the time to help somebody else. He doesn't even know who it is. This is awesome. So yes so William if you go to the show notes all these company names are listed in there so you can go. Do some research on Tim the note. We'll even throw Williams email address and if you want to reach out to him and just have a conversation with him and we loved the source of who love when our listeners help our other listeners. This is this is how we are as an industry and this is how we are as you as podcast families. We're all here for each. Oh this is awesome. Good job all right. Do you want to get the next question. I have to okay and the reason I have to. Who is I can't pronounce the name first off? Ludwick has been a fan of our show for a long time actually appear in his podcast. He's in or from the Netherlands. I don't think he lives in the Netherlands anymore but he writes in all the time. We appreciate it in this time. We're actually raised question. Shout out his company's Hof Prophet so H. O. F. P. R. O.. Fit Go check him out. He has a blog. Doc podcast he has some things really stuffy cells. My favorite thing is. He's a conservative libertarian. And a Foodie I love and so the question is this what is common sense and Energy Asia not say anything on the US elections that lead to you to buy here a lot of stupid ideas being pitched of how common sense in energy in Little League. I absolutely I agree with you. I mean we have our own politicians talk about the ban fracking we have state governments banning. The use of natural gas drive in the cost of living up to the point that people can't live in their states. We have politicians that don't understand basic physics talking about climate change. If you can't tell me one of the three laws at their dynamics don't talk about climate change you don't understand the basic science behind it. And so where's the common sense with at least here in the US. It's not with our politicians. That's for darn sure. And and we also have this kind of saint problem our side so for the longest time the oil and gas industry hersal pet peeve amount that we're working on fixing but for the longest time any time. Somebody says something wrong about the guests industry and public or whether that's on purpose or an accident as an initial. We never correct them. And I'm not talking about politics. I'm talking about just facts. We never talk the good stuff or do we bill. The prosperity drive the global diseases. We fight the infrastructure we build the prosperity draw for not just the people that work initially but the people that are in the hotel operas restaurants owners all that stuff so we need as an industry to own the fact that we don't do a good job and we need as an industry to fix exit and stay tuned audience. We got something coming to start trying to fix this but yeah no. Commonsense and Energy Lisa in the politicians in the Canadian politician sought an jake. The probably talk about this next show. I just saw where the ban fracking. Kidney GIO WANNA keep being chained to Russia because that's what happened when you do stuff like that so yeah no common sense. It's but hopefully that will change or I'll leave it at that. Last question is from Calvin. WHO's president each engineering group I tend to the IPO meeting last night or the speaker from Shell ventures can supply his name in the name of the venture firm with Shell that he has with thank you so much yeah reach out to Calvin gave his name? I don't want to announce it on the show because this portion venture you guys could get any data like crazy but it was actually. We did this event. I guess it was last week and it was our most well attended event. We've ever done my big shout out to our street team for coming in helping volunteer to help. Check people in but they came to him. Yeah man works out really works out come from frigging the gutter to make it. I know that's what they always say what we thought it. But when did comedy get this fucking reputation that like you had to be molested or beat up or some of alcohol or drugs traffic. I don't think know. How many people have you met in your life? That are just funny. Yeah how many of those people be met with alcohol problems in depression that artfully at all. Yeah they just way way more those people than funny people. Yeah that's a good point Kami for a while though is super dark I think it was and I also think it was like you know how like nerds. I'm trying to carve out their version of comedy. Now they're like well if you don't do this it's not it's not funny it's offensive. Whatever it is? It's just because they can't do it right so like if you can't do something you just set the ramblers ramblers around what you can do. Yeah right it's it's like white guys meal. Yeah there's no dunk in the NBA. Yeah all right I guess won't dunk exactly know exactly you just trying to set the parameters and So maybe there was a time where like comics were setting the parameters around comedy. Where like you had to have all this like fucked up shit going on in in your life in order to be you fucked up shit is relative you know everyone has a struggle? It's like even if Smith Complain Bitch about all this shit and here it's like it's nothing compared to the rest of the world like India. It's fucking nothing but that doesn't work. Does it. Like I can watch all those sad videos but from my point of view right like while I'm dealing with at the time is strength. That's is what I'm saying. Yeah everything's relative. So you're stresses relative sears. Situation Right so here in America if you don't have a C. for a week you're freaking the fuck out can live and and then people like well we've never had any we don't even know any and you're like Oh that's trauma to you exactly goes. Oh did you grow up with a traumatic childhood. I'm like when my dad was there. My mom was there Eh. Divorce back on things in the mirror every single fucking knowing your Mexican. Rest of your family's not you're right now hard that is especially grown up in Colorado Colorado home rattle rattle for the school shooting the big one on the columbine. Yeah Man I was in ninth grade in our school shutdown big deal woes columbine. So that's a wrap a host. That's like I don't know ten miles from the jury would like the the Weirdos today come to school the next day with a little like pap nurse off the next day because there was a threat on our school like there was like so you know how the losers when when this shit happens the on the Internet and they sent out a list of schools that are next Komo. That list won't have school the next two days. Okay but then when they came back was everybody early like polite to like the the Weirdos was there beat the shit out of them they went right out just kidding off Like even the Weirdos were like they might be weird but they're like God damn that's a little more trenchcoat that right now were out. Yeah TRANSCO IN A hot second. Yeah how is that even useful attire. tyronn Colorado Colorado's a winter jacket. Yeah I mean you mean it should have been a dead giveaway. We're in the fucking trenchcoat man. The black trenchcoat. They did it for a reason reason. I got it from some movie but I saw those parents. They got a little bit of responsibility. No one went down there. There's down for six hours playing grab ass all night. How much do we blame parents? And the kids are coming up in trenchcoats and fucking Mascara. Hope you'll have an issue with this. We're GONNA fucking Navaro Navarra fucking nirvana all said Dave Navarro. He was also the band. The parents are responsible. Yeah check in. So that's a thing like what is it. When is it a parent's fault? How much can you hold a responsible ensemble for with their kid get that gets tricky if we know it is their fault? Why can't we like send him to jail for it shit but is it the fault fall of his this negligent like them? Just like I was working. We want me to work in him by hanging out down there. I thought they're making robots. Yeah I don't know look I'm not saying I have the the answers. I'm just saying that there is a situation where like we have no problem blaming. Let's say for girls a whore right. What whose fault is it? Nolan's let's not. Whose fault is it? No one she's a good girl whose fault is at chanter debt. Thank you daddy issues. Or she says a positive attitude. Listen experimenting batting Wayne to find the right one last week with the women's march or something. What's going? What are we over? Correct them for here. Regrading I have a problem with you. Try to hate on. Hey I'm all listen if you want to do it. That's fine because his guys are hose. Everyone's get on dogmatise. The girls like how dare you. That's the thing guys are hose. Nobody's like where was Yeah no right. Did his mom go to basketball practice. Like there's no recourse recourse if a guy shoots up a school. It's never the MOM's fault like anything happens to the daughter right. We had this weird thing where it's like. All the DASH should have been the dadge. Dad didn't love you that whatever and then when the fucking sun shoot up a school or does anything when he's just a fucking loser he's a piece of shit. There's no there's no. It is interesting always always to blame jam when a guy does anything. It's Internet's play when Dad 'cause that the shooter is always in the forms and like like he's what these other talks. Where's your malls whereas your mom? Well the mom can't be Mike. How your friends million is today like get in? They're getting that chat room okay. Here's the thing. He's terrible on dude. That gets a little far. Yeah he took it to that gets another level. But here's my I didn't kill the guy you got to watch all yeah yeah Sliced them up anyways. The point is a while even even that mom with the kids. Anyway cheerlead again anyways take Dona Varo anyway but even with that kid committing murders. We have we. Have we have videotape. Whole chat yeah? Even the mom was like I still don't think he did it. Oh that's another. She defends him amazing thing about women. They're the most down ass bitches and their love is so fucking what is it called. Unwavering on wavering. There's a word for it. What does it faithful? Your mother's love is unconditional unconditional. A father's love is conditional you think yes hundred percent really hundreds of DADS would only. He's only loves you because you're successful. I think if I was cutting up human beings my dad be like hey chill fill it out. Yeah agree stop. But mom's down mom is what did that person do what to do. I'm talking about like longer term. Sure what do you got my point is. How often do you see their boyfriends husbands? visit them because once you commit a crime you're single you're single is great. It's conditional our love right. If you decide to murder someone and go to jail you broke up with me. You made that decision right now. These girls not only will they stay with their mom while they're in jail for murdering tons of people. They'll meet a guy in jail. Sometimes sometimes they faithful. It's unbelievable unbelievable. It's insane mind Boggling Hernandez Goren son. He killed her sister's boyfriend's and then she sounds like wow. I don't know what the fuck shit he was talking. More women need to be like that. Excuse me example of women. She's an example of a ride or die strong woman to one hundred dude hop out from got rid of the murder weapon being halls. or He's I care Yo. The thing is over there and then they got this bitch on video. Shrug is logging lugging to our nose in the garbage knows Oh is it. I forget I don't know some kid cats in their dude so I'm telling you there is a different type of love man. It's a different different type of commitment different type of love and it's his thing you'll hear girl snitching another girls either feel like dudes are quick to senate. Here's the thing. Girls will snitch. What if your eyebrows are fake eyelashes bachelor girl or their hair? SNITCHING EXTENSION DEMO reel. Yeah you know honestly one of the most fun things to do with your girlfriend or your wife have a girl I do it. Yeah any girl. I know who's had tons of work done fake tits are all that that Kinda Shit. I love that show. I act like they're real in front of my girl. Hilarious gets my girls all natural all natural makeup. She completely put the really reduce adducing up real in the street clothes. I tell my girl I tell me all the time and I'm like yeah I think Kylie's lips are fake and my girl will bring up fucking images of her at like thirteen to now needed he. What's so tight is so t j Lebron their sports sports? Yeah it really is so yeah there. There's a different type of fucking love but they don't think they'll snitch on us. I think they'll snitch on. I think they'll snitch on other women. I do think they will. I don't think they have that other women. There caddy bro female comets. That's true really. Don't fuck I do. And they've already chess on this thing. We talk about because they front. They're like we need to support women comedy and you're like who you support. We need support. Women comedy comedy like all these girls talk about. We need to women comedy and you bring up a girl who's killing it like Ali Wong and they're gonNA talk some shit. Where's this weeds more shit? Yeah the motion dudes Markor. Yes but west coast. y'All got trying to get. I'm on board. You know what I mean really. Just you know God legion. A skaggs guys really mark each other. They they support. You know common in Europe but his would just get in we just gotTa to figure it out these guys back home. They don't know the value support. You know what I mean. It's like it's like you don't know somebody to experience it like you don't know that money won't make you happy until you got money but you would like if Lebron James tells me to shoot the ball like this. I'M GONNA start shooting the ball like that 'cause successful yeah comics doing this. And he's killing on the road to take it yeah. I don't fuck them in New York on Africa the La guys like damn all these boys are selling shows. All the boys are crushing five. You know what it is is is like it's weird right. What it is is when you have they have like there's like a famine mentality out there because you can actually make money doing comedy New York like spots yet like that's that's why your money's all relative everything's relative but like the west coast guys? You guys all got rich because you can't make no fucking money out here right like I. I remember once I did a spot at the at the Hollywood Improv Great Club and then she tried to make me sign a w w w nine dollars and fifty cents. She had two quarters in envelope. Yeah and I was like you go. Broke Smart Cheeses New York. Take Take Matt Friend Maxwell Craig there so make money out here like if you do a show in the main room you can. I mean you can pay so like Nah there was a time in la. When I'll come here back in the day and it was was like you've made ten fifty seven fifty ten dollars for these little spots? Not Headlining show doing fifteen minutes right now. Maybe that money's GonNa it's different right but but there was a time where it didn't. It didn't seem like you were making enough money to sustain yourself. Make a living for girls. Should I'll acting or or the other things. podcast thing right like you guys real web series series writing like everybody here was doing something else as well and you found out I make that other thing you know make you guys millions of dollars so it's like Back home I think was crippling. Is that it comics in New York can make just enough money to survive. That's all the spots and I think inherently comics are lazy. I think the ones that aren't end up doing really well but we'll do at least amount of work to get the thing we want you know and if you ask a lot of commerce man I just want to make a living in this motherfucker. That's all you'll do if that's where you said it you're there. You won't won't go any. You might not even get there but you will not go any further so the worst thing about New York is often the best thing right the best thing about. New York's there's all this stage time there's all these guys are amazing. The worst thing is that you can get the golden handcuffs. You can get all the states nine one one just barely make a living. Now if you're just barely making you live in. Do you have enough to share help. No no because if you take one spot from me its problems is like how am I gonNa pay my rent so now you not really helping now you really a fight for yours that makes it right where is whereas I imagine out here. You know I you know sponsored still competitive that kind of stuff guys trying to get on the road guys are trying to open for people etc so I try to just get guys to realize is like the comedy in New York is the gym. It has to be your gym. That is not your end goal. That's just I know there's a lot of guys New Yorker like managers want to get passing the seller and that's going to be. It's like I was just talking about tell last week and I was like. That's the problem mentality is people go. I WANNA be in the cellar and then that's it and it's like he goes. No No. This says the Jim. This is where you work out. You make your living on the road. Yep but it's like Oh jeeze understood that the older guys understood but I think the younger guys looked up to those. Oh Jeez stole so much and they kind of just and they like they had this romantic view of what that would be like so they stopped dreaming. Pass that and while I'm trying to get them to understand understand what gets you pass that because those. Oh Jeez. Though that nobody's goal should be to just do spot to the seller. The goal should be you. Just walk in big. I'll do some time like my goal even even in the city and there's a lot of great clubs in the city there's New York Comedy Club. Amazing stand is really good and obviously the seller really good really good play the coffin. Right Gotham the headliner club. Those are like the headline sponsor. Nah maybe I'll pop. I'll do like a comedy juice and stuff like that but but there's a lot of great stage time but what what what I gotta get them to to realize. This is a means to an end like I never in my whole career looked at the seller is the end I was like. Oh I WANNA be here because it's always sold out and I can work work out material more. Yeah it was there for me to work out material. Even I remember when I first got past there and it was like I was trying to jokes and people. What are you worried about your new jokes like well? What's the point? How would I know if they work? Yeah like I'm GonNa do my Best Best Shit for twenty five dollars due to road making shit on the Road Tri C.. Wherever but I guess my point is will now? Because you're you're you but before if you're young you're let's say you're headline your first two or three years you're on the road you start doing bullshit. Crowd worked for thirty thirty minutes. Just bullshit succoured. You should never do that. Guy's never do a whole now. Hose Down Doug when you first start headlining like you gotta bring your immaterial man. Yeah no you gotTa kill absolutely. You've got to kill in La and if you're not good at you know coward than don't do would if you're not good at those types of things don't don't do it you gotta murder. But that was my philosophy was it was just like hey I wanna make sure that you want to come back next year. That's always what I'm thinking. Everyone should yeah. Do you sell less tickets this problem. Yeah and happens. Oh yeah you know ebbs and flows like I get it like someone had like a big pop because of something. Then you need to do like the correspondents' dinner some shit like that. You know what I mean like. Everybody knows you and then afterwards not as popular. But that's ebb and flow is going to be natural in a career entertainment. Yeah that's part of it. But that's that's it just getting people to understand their their things that dream bigger you go bigger but the guys in New York like Soder fucking normally like you've ruined how they're doing it. They're doing it yet. They still you know talk to normally talkative soda there that we shouldn't have to do social media but we do it. Yes one of those things where it's just like yeah. I'm sure basketball players wish they didn't have to jog. What you do is a new business? Instance with 'em as like. I'm sure Baghdad motherfuckers like I don't WanNa Learn Ju Jitsu Yeah. They didn't have to. I'm a bar fighter. I just WanNa go on a dude. Yeah go to the ground now. I'm not good enough to be a boxer. I JUST WANNA go hook off on somebody. Yeah right and then all of a sudden he's due to come into God. I got to learn it and now is a whole different group of comics coming up. WHO started young? I was talking about this with mark yesterday. It's like now the Internet is comics is starting young. You Got Comics. It are twenty four years old. been doing calming for six years. What you know so and all these comments coming up? They're coming up watching our shit so they're like okay. I got to know how ED video I got to know how to add subtitles. I know how to clips. I gotTa do all. So they're coming up and it's like if you want to stay in the game you better know how to compete. Yep you know it's like Lebron learn how to shoot threes because he had to join developed a fadeaway because he had to. You'RE NOT GONNA stay in game off of just your name and people in New York going. I like you keep out here. I mean there's some guys who got grandfathered in rightfully so like Chapelle or some shit like that but those days are can be tough man. Unless you're on youtube or is a a new game through the social media is a new mother fucking game and you know what you should be excited because you actually got some fucking leverage now on you. Don't have to Suck Dick at these fucking comedy festivals where everybody's kissing up to the network execs transcend. Jamfnow oh yeah I'll go to jail and I'll go out to dinner durum in smoothing exects. I don't hang out on like I'm doing Jeff I'd take my. Ira Me to those guys. I do the show and then I'm I'm if my boys is there a comics out. That's what I WANNA talk to him out. And even if I WANNA talk to like like even I was talking to one of the guys fell the other day. Who WanNa guys who runs the other day and I was like what are you look for from new faces because I got friends of mine? Who for some reason value shit which is no reason you should value it but they do they things are GonNa Change is back in the day? Did like Kevin Hart had a mattress set in Montreal. fucking everything about popping absolutely now. They're so mad. Hey Castle is dope. Yeah Yeah you're right. It's just a different game now. Is it different. That being said like Youtube is felt like muggers know about you already. I'M GONNA go to the show to click a video wanted and you can watch it. Not just the credit jeff says change Bro. It's like you know it is it is just well. L. Is all changing dude. I I don't know how much longer agents are going to be around or managers. That's legit like let's be honest because is there just venue teach at TJ mark. Walter I love you. You're my gosh. You always going to be with me and I say this. So he doesn't get nervous that kind of shows I see no no he he might get five your hands. It's a matter of fact when you're fired but like what I've said to him as this is like all right so you have these promoters is world people. Don't understand about the game once you get out of comedy clubs when you're in comedy clubs. It's easy agent calls a comedy. Omni Club Comedy Club puts this show on do show you start getting into the theaters right. So the agent doesn't call it theater. I just had to learn about this shoot. The Asian calls a promoter live nation. Yeah Yeah livenation. AG Any of these other agent promoter the promoter calls calls theater the promoter puts on a show. Right promoter pays me. Why do I need my agent to do that? They didn't do. He sat what I told my agent. Jose got to be careful. Because you don't realize it but you're about to be boxed out. It's like Uber Drivers Right now. There's people listening to this podcast. Driving Uber thinking they got a sweet. The second UBER finds a way to drive that car without you. You are out of a job. Fam- you you probably four or five years if you plan on living more than four or five years if you're shit out figured out okay. So so the thing with the ages so I told him I was like you realize realized that they're slowly getting rid of you like they do all the promotion they have all the ticketing. They have everything you need ten percent you can handle the acts that do the comedy clubs but once you get to the expert theaters right. I could literally call up live nation tomorrow or ag or any of these companies tomorrow and just say hey Yeah I'm ready to go back on tour our. Yeah you just book all the things. Here's the thing though. You know some of those who live nation as other ones though. I have friends who go. Oh you have a tour while we want you to perform at our venues and they go. Here's a flat rate. We don't give tickets you sell. Let us promote it. You do your thing on your end but the flat rate. Thank me with that. And it's big money and Daiki agent. That's what I told my my Asian and I love my agent brought it to me. He brought the deal to me and I was like. What are you doing? But you gotTa do this. They wouldn't go direct to you though they could. I could go off. Fam- they offer me seven figures for one year of touring right and then when you break it up to the amount of shows and that kind of stuff you could see if it's worth at this that the other but what I'm telling my agent I'm like Eah you. You could do this like you gotTa do all this. I don't understand you're the only way you're agent shouldn't shouldn't be fired if they said let's say offered you three million to my agent. And he went back. We need five years. No No my age. You don't WanNa do. Yeah now. My agent turned a Y- yeah like He. He deserves it he he's in like he. He does a lot of like almost managerial stuff as well like. That's my partner. I look at my business. He's happy to be part of it. Happens to be part of an agent. He's definitely get fired but I'll take them. Yeah friend. We'll go to your system. Be revis agent where it's going right now. With all the PODCASTS. Everything is so niche. We have our following. We have all that kind of stuff. It's like like you'll have an agent handling your podcast right. No no not at all. I don't even know what my agency does. Every once in a while call him. You know this show looks Kinda cool hot ones. Yeah Yeah I WANNA check out hot. That one's and they'll be like all right. We're going to look into that. And then they do Jack Shit. Nothing you can't just call the fucking show so I eat the spicy chips chance. Okay based out of new. That's an easy one brody. Don't do any of these people do anything. That's that's what I realize about this whole business. Nobody does they is all incoming calls cruises. It's already agent is really like pitch and ship. He's just waiting missing a possible. Fourteen armed is a Tom. Hey Tom looks like this. They haven't figured out the missions pretty possible. Yeah You keep on doing it every single fucking dive. It is weird like you Wanna asked like the Monday through Friday nine to five only go. Yeah you email me. An offer from Cleveland broke the rest of the day. What would you say you we do for the rest of the day agents hustling my my Asian hustling the other ones like the mind? You know it because he's smart guy a very loyal dude who like sacrifice. I'm really ride or die from me. So that's important to me and if you have those guys you take care of them like real l.. Let Them Go. We're going to let them go teen like he's it's time I call my Bro Are we going to do it. I Don I love him I love him with you see. Do they do anything and like they're the same agency is Lebron. Have you met Lebron have you. Has he been on the podcast. pitchy right we represent Lebron. I'm like all right. Get Him on a podcast. Ask about that. It's like. Hey man no saying this shit. I would never depend on them to do anything like that. I would. I know warning orange juice. Not For the Hawk cast say you got to get a cup. Of course they're going to be like what the fuck you know. Lebron Lebron by. We don't see money for that. They were smart they would they would create that synergy. Yeah they were smart they would service every single thing. No my day should be and you ads. They should be getting you fucking cross promotional shit. What are they doing? What do they gain you just my horn? So the exacting anybody could do yeah. This is literally the phone call reading High Columbus funny bone. Hey remember what I saw the club. You want to do that again under. Okay see you next year Glenn per se. Yeah saved him. And it's not ten percent. This Salaam thing taxed no not even ten percent which brings you down on ninety right now. What is that of ninety? There's twelve and a half. Yeah so if you get you know what I'm saying. They ten dollars ninety dollars. Yeah they're making more than ten percent of what you make. You see what I'm saying is it's a lot of shit going to change. Go a lot of Confu- so we fire needed so not dude because you keep sell fire them but you tell me how great you're turning mine line into a fucking bullpen up and I'm coming over later. TJ No I think if you got guys this is what I think can evolve into. I think they're like we just all band together. This is what I think the real future will be. Is We all band together in an or like are never gonna like a network but like we are now but with no written agreement exactly group right so like me part of that group. I'm of course. Of course no. No absolutely I'll be. I'll do anything for you guys but like I meant like let's say there's like six of us right and we're all hitting the same clubs hitting the same theaters etc right. We can have one or two of our agents represent all of us right and book. The same theater runs for everybody. Yeah right and get the best rate because it's like Oh do you want it or not like you gave earlier this. Oh Hey delete. He's doing so shows he's GonNa come there. Yeah so salty elitist. CBS Rate but we need a lower. Because you get all of us or go to the competition right right. Yeah and then now. We're not fighting against each other. Uh and all these bullshit calls happened like I speak. You'll speak to the fucking venues in the promoting that country. They don't want to deal with agents now the hate them they want to deal with is like the one thing now do you. Don't WanNa take it like I don't WanNA call Are You the commission myself. What do you mean the commission? I'm saying I don't argue the rate myself or not that the them you don't be dealing with the numbers and all that shit to you. This is for you WANNA create dealing with other. This is the number. I'll pop you do you think he's like yeah. Click hey this is what it costs by L.. That's IT Kevin. Hart it might be a little tough son. We went through tough. We went through tough back in the day. When we're when we're we're trying to hustle fucking ass off for years ten years on the road grinding? Finding they don't say we because yeah you did it right. Yeah yeah me. I didn't do it right. You should have been doing hyenas in Fort Worth. Yeah six but I. I don't WanNa be lumped in with. We want to take on the same like that. That's fine that's fine so it's like I don't know. I think I think that you can do that. I think you could call them up. I think it's I think it's a lot more a lot easier than we think is strengthened numbers. I think so. I mean that's the whole thing that's the whole thing with unions and that Kinda Shit like people shit about shit on unions and you know make it all the sense in the world. Here's the thing that I'll get when people shit on unions because it's the exact equal and opposite reaction to billionaire right. The billionaire Maher uses. They're they're paying power. Essentially they own the business and they could pay all these people whatever they want because if they don't accept the job then they won't have a job at all they have on the market if you own the Walmart and some little town that's the only spider widow Shannon do exactly right so the only equal and opposite reaction to the billionaire is if all the people who work come together and they go now we want this money. Yeah now both of them are bad. Busy extreme version of both of them are I bet. The extreme version of the union makes it so that the business can't make any money the stream version of business makes it so that people can make a middle hopeful you negotiate and having middle ground. What I'm saying saying is we should just make all the goddamn money? Fuck them until they figure it out of should firearms aged. Know what I'm saying is let's get. Let's get the levers that we never had like right now. We're in a unique time in history man comics ever had leveraged. I like now we got the fucking levers like you know how badly I wanna I wanna just not only do. I want us to do that but like I got my my young bucks I wanna put on the road. You know what I mean. I want to put mark on the road. I WANNA I WANNA do put Martinez on the road. He's on the road with me but also problem but but I want to actually have him be if I eventually on the road by himself. Well that's yeah well that that that that game's going on since the fucking sixties where he does the open up for you So he opened up for you. You're in front of thousands of people. Yeah he they. Oh we like dyke guy mark and then you say market and then you build audience. Yeah I mean there's that what else would you do. You have him in two guys. We don't know headline no but what I will do as this has happened back in the day. Like let's say I'm coming to a club for whatever reason and I'm just coming Friday Saturday so I say hey headline him Thursday. I just do that San Jose so there you go. You're already doing it. Are you doing that right. I mean giant theaters. It's different is different is different if we if we do a club we're doing specifically typically for reps will also just love the club like a club comic. I grew up in New York man. Like I like talking to the crowd like I like I just I like that intimacy so so but I think there's cool as where we could do this man like man but also with your with your youtube channel stuff. You're doing with that. You can highlight mark work in the boys before they get in jerked off in my bathtub. I let him stay in you know. I didn't know that's where only fans it says. Only fans bro only fans owners. Jack La this guy is he is like so fucking primal aimal with his shit. He's actually smart kid you're a guerrilla. He's a fucking gorilla right. It's twenty four. Why are you lying you get la you start lying about your fucking starlet? Twenty three twenty four years already. We could break. Where's Steve speeded? Young as fun so these guys say you could stay in my apartment. WOM Gone Right. I come back from my apartment and there are there as gelatinous. She's bubbles on my bathroom like it's one thing to don't say you didn't do it more talking nuts. He jerked off in my bathtub and didn't have the fucking fucking balls or the respect to foot it down now. He is very small fee. Maybe he missed it but he didn't he didn't just go like this and a granite and just get it go through the drain. So we're like fine. He learned his lesson. We disrespected everybody on. The road knows him. Should go jerk off Schultz's tub right. Everybody knows he learned his lesson right. Alex Alex does all video stuff. Right Martin job team now as well but Alex fucking killing it trying to copy. Yeah they should. Everyone's trying to copy they should they not. You're you're like you're like Rogan has Jamie everyone copy Jamie or chin. Everyone's trying to copy Alex sick sick out. They tried to simplicity his way. I'm sure I can find some the office so added a porn or some shit with these hoes is on the road. You'd be so so we just we just got this new studio back. You gotta come check the studio back in. Are you out of fucking town. We'll we'll make apple pie but So we just get this new studio right right multiple studios for podcast live performance based. We'll do some live shows projector. TV's fine watch games all ships in a good spot Yeah Yeah Yeah it's in it's in Brooklyn it's dope man. It's fucking so cool and took a six months to fucking built out right like audiovisual teams like fucking painting painting. It was crazy what we did. It was just unreal and This is all you your team use associated with us and And and Alex likes walks in right. I mean we had. This is the first day we're about to record the PODCAST whereabouts report flare into for the first time in the studio we walk in Alex walks in and mark is shut the fuck up to shut the fuck up okay. Now it makes sense. Doesn't it make sense okay. That'd be my second guess shoes and socks off right God. That's getting now out walks in doesn't think about it right. He goes he goes he goes. Okay what's where you don't even think about it like Oh what's up mark okay. I got here earlier. Something like that. He walks past a turns. Turns around and looks at the TV and mark is ferociously fixing the apple. TV remote like get off the new screwy Rudy. Oh this fucking gorilla cannot help himself but tomorrow territory territory. Was He sleeping. Say what was sleeping. No Oh that's the crazy thing you already did you say the night there. Yeah did you say the night. Talk all lines up. Do you get your fucking place. He got up early. Twenties hundred. Eighty subways twenty three off twenty three jacket. He's twenty five all right. He's twenty nine years old. This is an old uh now it gets a little creepy twenty four twenty three I celebrated so no for real man. It's just you know it. It was a tough thing. It's a tough thing you know. Let's just say you gotTa do marches whacking all over the floor of the studio dude. It's a crazy world. That's that's when you bring on the road. Yeah Mark Opens for me on just him. Yeah just sometimes they'll have a local guy. Yeah yeah usually can get icy though can't it. That's the thing we can we can be. I feel like when it's dicey it's fun fun. Wins Dicey Yeah. It's just me I don't know I try. I bring it opener in a feature you bring both yes but for the long I would just roll the dice. I found it was kind of fun. You fly climb out and everything we'll see that's the thing is I already have. Also I'm flying guys out. I know we're always thinking we just gotTa Get out five minutes now folks on that video go out. We had AL do breath. I'll do one joke. We're in Tampa Tampa Improv. I'll give you one of my old jokes hilarious right and You just go out there and do the job. It'll be a quick little misdirection to open up to open. The show brought him on twitter. In my set. During my sets everybody knows them like ours synonymous with me. So it's like he goes up. We stopped the show. He comes up. He goes uh-huh nervous but he was a front like he's was came on like. Yeah this is this is a joke and it's one of the first jobs I ever. Oh this is like twelve thirteen years ago and the joke was I like it when a girl talk dirty in bed. I just hate it when they repeat the same thing over and over again right like no right. So that's the a joke and I say I go. I say as I go listen. I'm going to set it up so they know it's a joke right because it's a harsh joke but I'm going to sentence I know it's a wrong. But here's the thing. Okay so we hold about very on. How long ago was this This is six months ago three months ago. I see oh come on for my house with the other ways you. It is time lights on steaks about raping bitches. We were crying for failure man. Would you be like damn maybe a little more about Dick Stop. Oh so funny man. Oh just slammed any of it. We nervous out the sweating man. Sometimes as openers are funny in Tampa is when you on a she she saw two years ago I just went by myself anyone. I just went to car. How quickly you have your member name of why? Yeah I remember. This was because because I did Palm Beach Orlando and Tampa and I rented I'd had feature nothing. I have the end of the drive around. Yeah so Tampa and it was theirs. Is the last stop Montoya. I'm tired. I'm in the back. I'm waiting waiting and the manager comes up because hey man so we got this female open up for a man and Dude it's kinda crowds so bro. We sometimes the females at be. So Taylor swift just came out with her documentary on net flicks and there's a short short clip about the reason why she took a five year. Hiatus and Nikki Glaser was actually in there and it was tough. She was on a show talking about how she thought he was too skinny Guinea. Liz Oh it was in a much older interview. And she ended up actually posting a photo wearing Taylor swift. Smerch Ert apologizing for it. You don't want them swifty. After you but she got she got the coast sign. I saw this girl about this. That's how I know is and She basically apologized apologized and said that whatever she said in that interview was projection of what was going on in her life. She apologized Taylor. Swift cy in actually reached out to her old school. I like He. You Know Nikki. I do not great. Yeah Yeah yes. That's a nice little As a nice that's a nice clout chase right there appreciate. There's so much one of the major things that we have ability to change over time grow. I'm so sorry to hear that you struggle with some of the same things. Abstract with sending massive hug Hashtag check none of my fans buy tickets to her show. That's cool. Did you say there will be one soon. So goddamn powerful. Yeah I mean beyond say in the I think the called the beehive. Yeah they'll shut your shit down. Yeah Yeah Yeah Watch autry PS and QS and beyond set the Taylor Swift. Maybe she was right maybe she was skinny. I mean didn't tell us but hold on until associate was battling yeah disorder. She used to be a size double zero and now she's a size six in the documentary. I was just saying that like the more she saw photos of herself the more she realized that she didn't like the way she looks so she just slowly kind of stopped so Mickey Glazer's right. So she yes she skinny. You look the photos you agreed. You Change Your Life Policy for Nikki. This saved her favorite singer Nicky. This thing Nikki's bodied up to. That's why the Nicholas degree. But here's a yeah. Why are we upset about is like fascinating some fat or skinny shaming? Like if you're saying too skinny this would you say to skinny. It's shame if you say someone's too fat. Shame your both of them are just pushing aimed towards the direction of health. They're also observations right like when when if someone they five plus a patriots fan but the Guy Day million fattest fuck shop. You don't nothing. My ass is on the bike late afternoon. Motivated fucking motivated still thinking shit but doing deliveries Mexican ass. Doug Fachet word You've roughing off Adobo you've always been skinny You just stay thin not a flip a fucking Combo. Good our sued sued. I like professional bra now yet. Refined sugars thin anyway. Yeah I'm a little Thin Otter dock. The you went to Egypt right dude. Did you eat carbs there. I did dude. The food sucks in Egypt but also new shipton but yes shit shit like I put no shit. Now you've been there for six thousand years you can figure fuck and food nother named something they've invented. There's nothing the pyramids well. That's how I know the aliens. It's not aliens but it's not them. It's probably White Dude's might've been white guys like the British will have to Komo bogus from London. It was a gaffe real. No there's no way like everything about that shit the pyramids it just blew my fucking mind every most impressive thing I've ever seen in my life. Wow our really like I literally your the the parents do. They're kind of small. It was shit. There's a McDonald's out front when people have shit on the pyramids almost. Yeah I know it's GonNa name Somebody Cowan for shirts no way Dad was doing operation. We taken now now. I've never heard great things about the pyramids voice they're overrated. But you love them. They're the most underrated thing I've ever seen in my entire life. They are the most miraculous questions your idea of reality. It makes you question reality. You're watching in live. You were questioning. How could this happen? Like I don't even think about human progress aggress the same way after looking at the payroll. Wow this how I think the pyramid happened. I think there was some humans they built the pyramids. They developed these cool to technology. That allowed them to to do it. Those humans died out and because we didn't live in this global society where everybody knows what's going on when you died. So did all your technology. Oh Yeah you can't tweet out right. So then another group of humans thousands of years later the one that we call the Egyptians now they pull up they see some dope shit and they're like Yo that's hours because you would claim whatever's your hundred percent every group that walked on it just claimed that the Greeks the Romans Jews anybody who pulled up on it was like yeah. We made that that was us. That's our people but there's no way fucking hell any humans. They're the you the the you know. I think we just say alien when we don't know how things happen in our reality and that's what I'm talking question reality like these fucking things. The bricks ricks themselves are so massive. There's no way in hell. You can move those bricks and you know that. They didn't get those bricks from that place from like seventeen kilometers away it across the river with them. Like there's always insane ships spec this white suspect you know what makes something a civilization a group of people illumination writing. Bright that is is what made the Egyptian civilization right at the Higher Hieroglyphs. Yeah so how do you write about everything but how to build that. That's why they say aliens though. Even if aliens did it they would write. Dalians did it. And I know someone's GonNa pointed a hieroglyph where they're like alien looking. No you go in detail about how those fucking Galions you went to Detroit. Would you WANNA detail how you clean fucking corn but you're not gonNA detail and how you build this. There's nothing here. The idea that they say the Jews built it absolutely bullshit because if you look at the Old Testament they go into detail about how to build a temple. It'd be the the. The cloth has to hang two centimeters. There's it's like such specific minute details. Bill temperatures. Not how to no writing whatsoever. Nobody else replicates it and what you see this shit in Mexico parts of the world stacked up raw son. That's what it is but at one point in time it was perfectly flat. Oh chipped away at it over years using it to make weapons etc just was perfectly straight you. There's a mockup of what they're supposed to look back in the day so we had him on dollar bills too. Well because that's strange. Now the masons the people who basically created America Erica. They were inspired by the Egyptians. And they think they're like philosophy. Is that every once in a while. Yeah this is what they thought this is what they look like back in the day. Perfectly flat white. You try them Luke Ser and that's what it looked like. They got that idea when you're supposed to be white. Limestone son was perfect white limestone. That's what it's made out of six thousand years you've got a little rust should dern dude. There's nothing there. What about Mars? No why are we spend all this money to go to places where we know nothings air. We took pictures of it. Going Zona Right. It's like we know it's just going to be desert. What are we doing here at of idea? It's it's a stupid goal but I think they're just using it to get crazy money from the gove so he can fund all this other shit she that Chinese billionaires trying to fly some date with them to the fucking moon no like a robot or something showing a date to go to Mars or some shit. I think it's the Japanese dude who invented wanted the program by any Chinese Dam Dam signed. That's fucked up roads. Fuck Ktar Betterman. Jeez that it. I'm sorry guys. There's a serious one but I don't talk about. Jay Z. Not Standing any up for the whole I saw that I didn't see it. Let me see. Did it stand for the National Anthem National Anthem. It just might saying you WanNa district flag just where else. Yeah yeah so that's when Demi singing and their families just sitting down but hold on hold on basically everyone else. He's the he's the he's the connect yes to the culture for black people the NFL. Yeah he's the one who's supposed to be the copper nick's right hand man. He got cabinet the workouts and all that Shit and cabinet posted. This thought. We were past kneeling though. Yeah so just posted on his instagram. So now capper nick is going apt beyond say and Jay Z. So are we sure that they actually sat during the anthem. Or did somebody take a picture of them sitting and then put it over the anthem to create some conference possible knots. Could they not stand for some weird reason like beyonce as dress or ashes blown out. I don't know but I mean most likely were sitting during the anthem. So the reason why this is the reason why this is stupid. Wine is because he said I thought were passing kneeling and to you know the cost of that so every decision you make when you're in public as a celebrity you are aware of especially when you're an event of this magnitude. You know that you're on camera. So every decision you make is calculate so if it was hypothetically if they did set during the national anthem they wanted people to noticing during the differences. They so you want it now. That's a PR move exactly. So if you want people to know Dan J. I don't know if you're in the right position to go to get to go to capture nick. Now we're not neil name for my feeling really might yeah cap. It's like do something to but do something broke right. You not out there. He's not giving any sort of nine. He May. He gave a lot of money. gave a million away like he's he's been about it Katzman about it. The tricky thing was was him trying to be in the league again. Like that's one owner understand is like if this league disrespected you. League did with all the shit that hold on hold on he he's a he gave a million oi. But you make a year from Nike and he give a million dollars of his own money away like just cash. A lot of money wrote ship for him doing this this well. Well the Nike Contract Biba. Here's a new contract to them. He's making more money now than it was playing football see. I don't know if that's true you don't think so. I don't know I don't think he is man. I really don't Oh I think that's why he wants to play. Because at the end of the day there's a love the game there's also a lot of money comes in a game. I think he's more about will not plan. I think he is value to the cause. Not playing but I think if he makes it about him playing distracts attracts on the issue which he's trying to raise awareness for an as far as like the anthem thing. It's like my thing is so little is just such a little thing like you. Don't have to join the military in America. You don't have to go to basic training. There's literally no cost of being American right like you pay taxes. If you make enough money but you get to live in the best place in the whole world you get the most opportunity to do whatever the fuck you want being an entertainment sports whatever the whole world has to come here you do outside of soccer to like make money at whatever they wanna do entertainment or sports or these types of things that the whole you already grandfathered into a Novi nothing and then the cost is like be cool. Just stand end up for the anthem. We're not even asking that you'll have to join the army like in other countries where it's mandatory service literally. If if they made a rule that was just like hey. Can you just stand up for anthem. Don't disrespect the flag. I'll tell you gotta do. A lot of people. were making the argument that it wasn't disrespectful to the flag because Cap App asked the guy who's in the navy or the marine. What was the best way to go about this? And the guy was like want you to take a knee because the need is like a sign of acknowledging it but I don't I'm trying trying to raise awareness about doing. The whole thing is confusing. If you want to boycott the police than you do that at the police station you don't do that at the NFL like it's just. You want to boycott brutality. But then you're going to do it at the sport that's the most brutal Jesus so many things conflation ship. It's also like Jay Z.. If you don't agree with their agenda whatever then fills don't go to the game you WanNa fuck in doing all the ship for it. I let him. I don't even think it's real. I don't know who knows and not only they do. I don't think I think it's it's now. You gotTA know motherfucker standing. No they know. I don't know if that's real fast oceans. I can't a fats real because like back here. And he went out on a limb like when he went said publicly. Were passing when he said that public. That was a Burgh statement. He got a lot of flack for you. Got A lot of flack for it. So I don't know I don't know I I need more facts. But if she blew out address arousal you like beyond say I love you. Yeah music like what she looks about the voice voice. Sure like to talk to cigna me. Yeah no not singing talking. She is really deep voice when you went to that I'm into her. You're like grow. The deep voice amended beyond with a deep voice. You'll put up with the divorce because what was it comes. I'll put up with some shit to be beyond. Okay okay thank you my brother. ODS Ep. 21 Kelly Vanmeter. Bobby and Kelly talk about her fitness journey, hunting, fishing, rucking, and a bunch of other stuff.

"The welcomes him outdoors scope hunt fish conservative with your host Bob Falkenburg. Hello everybody how we doing out. There and we do an outdoors. How are we doing every day. Hey welcome to outdoor scoped. I am your host Bobby Falkenberg. Today's episode is brought to you by Iron Atler fitness. It's located at Twenty eight seventy eight North highway twenty one bowl verdy Texas number. There's eight one seven nine three nine eighty one twenty one again. That's eight one seven nine three nine in eighty one twenty-one owner. There's Tommy Williams Buddy of mine and you know what I like about. fitness and the cross fit in boot camp programs is that are available there what I like about it is that I can be lazy for the longest time and then I can go in there and within about a month. I'm back to where I was and that process kind kind of sucks. You know the people that that go every week and don't have gaps you know they're you know they had a lot easier than those of us who take breaks breaks here and there but you know with my job and my kids and and the way we've structured our family life. Sometimes it's Kinda hard to get in there but that's the beautiful thing about cross fit is that it is so you know you scale it to your level. You go back and you start off easy you build up build up build up and then before you know it and for six weeks you're feeling good again. You're just right where you were and in about two or three months you know if you stick with your kicking ass again so that is a huge huge testament to the efficacy of fitness regimen like that that you know you're combining all of the fitness components agility speed bead strength cardiovascular and you're doing all of that with people in a competitive environment to where you you aren't just laying around on you know doing some reps and then taking a break and then going back and then the next day you get on a cardio machine. You're doing all of it. You might be rowing and then going and doing a you know a set set of overhead squats or something like that and then you might do a a bunch of pull ups or something like that or you might be doing a four hundred meter run or a seven hundred and fifty meter run and you're competing against people and you're competing against the people that are the same fitness level as you so. It's it's pretty awesome you know and what. I loved to be able to say yeah. I'm in there all the time and I never missed a workout and sometimes I am. I mean I'll go four or five months without missing. You know my three or four days a week and then sometimes I'll go four or five months where I'm only in in their one or two days a week. If I and sometimes even not that much but that's the great thing about it is that you can come back to it at any time and get back in shape preity learn quick so go check out iron antlers fitness twenty eight seven hundred eighty north highway twenty one bulverde Texas and obviously you know if you have a membership the smart mark thing is to stay in there to stick with it to be to be a part of that family into integrate yourself and and not take those breaks but you know if you do. It's not at the end of the world and that's another great thing about cross families. Everybody knows that everybody knows that people go in spurts and when you come back people are going to say hey. It's it's good to see you. I haven't seen you in a while. It's good to have you back and you know it's like you. Were never gone so give them a call eight one seven nine three nine thousand one twenty-one ask for Tracy Tommy or to win any of the other coaches. They'll help you out. They'll get you hooked up. Go to Iron Hitler fitness and workout and be better than you were yesterday. I want to make sure that you know our guest for this week. Peak is a young lady named Kelly. Van Meter talked about her a little bit last week. Kelly is a good friend of mine. She works out at iron fitness. met her through the gym. She's she's been on an amazing journey. She lost seventy five pounds in less than a year eating right and not dieting but just eating right just just watching what she eats and working out and she is in great shape now. She's a very fit she and the other four girls on her team that we took into the Bataan Memorial Death March in March of Twenty nineteen they took first place for the women's heavy civilian and she's GonNa talk about that and a lot of other stuff but her husband's a taxidermist. She likes to fish the her husband's family's they're very big into hunting and they're conservationist as well so this is. GonNa be a great interview. I hope you're looking forward to it. As much as I am and without further ado here is Kelly van meter so yeah getting back into this now water auberger there was a a little bit of news that might have come my way at one point in time about this potential sale to what a Burger and and I just don't think it's going to be the big boogeyman that everybody thinks it's going to be I think I think it's just an investment. That's what I think it is. It just means swatter. Burgers can be more places. Yes it already is. I mean it's not just in Texas. It's in Florida Alabama. Who what what are some other chains there was another? Heb Oh well. They've been fine what happened. HEB that makes you can't you can't move it somewhere else. So I mean what's the big deal because I think their resources will then out you know they do so much locally for the community when the Hurricane Cain said and I think I think HP would and you can get so much. You don't want him to be Walmart. So you think the quality is going to go down because does definitely they are not able to they're not able to be in so many places at once spread a little bit more thin getting stuff from different producer. I don't. I don't think that's I don't buy it buy it. I think that I think it's going to be fine. You know things change. You know things change them you. Do you absolutely do so in talking about things changing. I one of the reasons I wanted to have you on. The podcast is because the ruck with us. I did was just something you thought you'd never do a millionaire and you did awesome with it and Y'all won. We won fucking wine while I mean it's pretty bad ass. The were able to pull that out not saying that y'all couldn't but but I'm just saying you know y'all went and you were able to show yourselves that not only can. We do this and totally kick ass but we did it. It and we wanted gift certificate yet we did have you framed it. I have not you got to frame it now. I'm jealous. I'm you know until I'm much older. I'm never going to get one of those there. We go got it so you've been on this fitness journey for a year and a half and I I you know I've only known you. What have you for about a year a year? Maybe I let event so you're kind of you're kind of into it already yeah but you've really like just gone one hundred percent into the working out the macos. Macara's yes and sharing that journey with people on instagram and facebook. I try try to try to motivate other people to do it and that's why I wanted you on because because this is outdoor scoped and we do outdoorsy stuff and obviously doing the ruck is very outdoorsy and but you also hunt and fish. I do a little bit more gushing than hunting but I do okay and you come from a family of people who hunt and fish right your your in-laws do my in laws. Do my husband does puts food on her table literally and you. I see is so I have to be. I can't be against it and I would never be against it but it it provides tip provides in our food but it also provides monetarily I mean my whole world revolves around hunting fishing and everything that tails on the and so I thought okay what a perfect guest somebody who's got fitness journey and is involved in hunting fishing and outdoorsy type stuff and so you did notice you know over the course of the last several months you were like okay. I'm going to share my journey and my experiences with other people to hopefully motivate read them to do whatever it is. They need to do right yeah. Yeah I mean I it took so when I kind of dove into Mac rose and you macronutrients and changing my diet it was because other people were sharing. Tommy had shared Tommy obviously was in great shape but then when he started macaroni ing with Denise how you say macaroni is a term of art rose. Aw You doing your makers so Tommy Macaroni. I don't know if that's term. I think I'm going to hyphen it and we're going to stick with it. Makarenko thanks Oh told me and he had lost and everybody was talking about macro and I had no idea what a macro was and so google and I mean seeing other people's journeys journeys inspired mine so I wanna be able to inspire others to get onboard because it is possible. It is a life changing thing. It's very eye-opening. Once you start kind of diving into what was it that made you initially say okay. I want to do this well. I've been working out out for. Let's see my son was born in two thousand fourteen so probably around twenty sixteen. I joined iron antler fitness and I wasn't seeing results. It's and it was frustrating because you go and you spend an hour and you're putting yourself out there and you're not seeing results so I wasn't as committed and then and again I saw just on social media seeing people say macro and if it fits your macaroni and so I- tax one of the girls that I knew you and I said I'm showing up to the gym have been there. Hold me accountable. If I don't show up hold me accountable and I showed up and I met Denise Very First Day. She said something you know just started tracking and I had never once logged calories. You know I would see ICOMFORT very like Paleo. You you know things that naturally grow and you can over eat healthy food and I never saw it that way. You know this is healthy. I'm eating a salad. The yeah well one thing. I've seen you post a couple of different. Times cannot run your fork. He definitely cannot because I I feel like I would spend an hour our in gem and I feel like my oh already done the work for the day so I can do what I want. I can eat what I want. I put it in the work. I spent an hour getting my butt kicked and the gem live life however the hill I wanna live get whatever I wanna go home and then are still do that. I was either you're gaining or staying the same or and I wasn't seeing the results that I wanted so okay. So what was the what was the tipping point like. Was it just reaching out to somebody or was it like when did you. How long were you doing it before. You started to say Holy Shit. This is working a week really in that first week. I lost weight in that first week. I reached out to one of the girls just hold me accountable to the gym and then Jada Watson. I know you know was meal prepping and she had lost a ton of weight and she wasn't in the gym. She us we it's delicious. Her food is Soak but she wasn't working out because does she had that Achilles injury and she had literally just lost weight by what she ate and walking and so I reached out to Jayda I admit to knees and everybody said just Kinda. Start tracking what you're eating and a macro your carbs protein fat and so these are all the things that make up a calorie and you know in the nineties wet fat was bad and all of a sudden carbs are bad and none of those things are bad. It's just balancing. What what you eat. I mean obviously I I love sugar. I still love sugar. GimMe some cereal. most people don't realize is just how much sugar cereal has in their kids cereal. It's healthy. It's carved. I mean just straight sugar state sugar and carbs but so do you get more bang for your buck. Essentially if you eat a plate of Broccoli that scarves or a bowl of cereal I mean the Broccoli is gonNA fill you up. You're going to get more the same amount of calories so it's just kind of recognizing those differences okay and I you know maybe you can help me out because here's what I struggle with. I know all of that. I've known all that for years and I get to a point where this is. This is a serious question. Sometimes I'm really good about that and I actually was tracking and logging in. What was it some APP. I can't remember what it's palace this phone yes faith was using it and and so I was using it and I just found that like work my job and stuff like that. I can balance working out with with that for the most part but adding that extra element of the tracking in when you're like you. Have you have kids. You work out wrote. You take care of those kids and you're busy when do you when you log like when you do that stuff. Do you do as you go and you do it at the end of the day or what do you do so so when I was on my first cut is what you know the first thing the first six months probably block yeah. I would log at night before four. I would log for the next day so I would already have. This is what I'm eating tomorrow and it helped me stay on track. You know I knew this. This is breakfast lunch and it's not it's a lot of it is keeping the meal simple. I mean I think our parents were very good and our grandparents are very good at you. Get Protein. You get carbs herbs. You get some fat on your plate and I mean we had three one meet in two sides growing up and that's how my mom served US Food and so and I think people got too complicated and mixing everything together so I just kept and casseroles will kick your ass. Oh yeah a good casserole like a meatloaf a lot of cheese like like a MEATLOAF casserole. That'll get you get you get you get cream creamy soup and a but I think it was visible though I mean it's like they say you're the size of your fist is approximately the size of the protein that you should. He you know and you're obviously you're only about like what twenty percent of what you're eating something like that. It depends on where you are in your journey to so. I kept my fat pretty low and I still do and that just makes me feel better like I feel better when my fat is lower and fat is more dense and so you have higher calories. One gram of fat is nine calories versus. ONE GRANDMA CARBS is for and I think women and we eat too much pat avocados healthy but it's still fat nuts healthy viewers nuts in one sitting. You're taking way too much fat. I think something that was really eye-opening. Is Somebody posted and there's so much information out there via social media there's different people that you can follow different registered dieticians and somebody posted a a handful of almonds is the same caloric -ly as like fifteen oreos and that's. I mean I never thought fish. Oils is horrible but if you're losing weight that's the same same thing. I mean obviously good but it's too much of it. There's yeah definitely and so I would log the night before and I just kept everything kind of simple. Breakfast still is pretty much the same as it was when I was cutting weight so when I cut I was you know one slice of Brandon. Now it's too and so and it's still it just kind of stays the same when I go out. It's still kinda. Throws me for a loop. If I not planning planing on going out and I have to remember you know there's always chicken on the menu. If it's at the end of the day I can order chicken breasts and I have not planned on going out or if I have a planned. You know researcher menu beforehand. I know I'm going to dinner so researcher menu and know that my you know I'm an order a rabbi so I'm going to get all that extra fat on my sake sake or whatever it might be and planning planning is essential and I think one thing that people don't realize is you know your caloric intake for the day because he used to be. Oh Tony don't eat a big meal in the evening and don't you know make sure you don't skip breakfast on GonNa. Stop and some of that research is still supported depending on what you're doing if you're an athlete and you're GONNA be working out in the afternoon. We'll you've got to feel you feel. You have to but you know what what what a lot. A lot of I learned was that the doesn't matter so much when you're taking the calories in obviously you don't want to eat five thousand calories before you go to bed but it matters how money you take in for the day based on your daily caloric intake and your your metabolism and how how much working out your lifestyle what did you what did you learn about that right now. I eat until pretty much moment. I go to sleep. I mean when the kids are in bed. We Watch Vikings eatable of ice cream every night. It's one of the first things I log for the day when I was every night every almost every night. That's like that's our that's our wind down time we sit down we watch vikings and so I- Boulevard Bowl of ice cream every night and all of ice cream. I could live off of it. I love it. Thank my favorite favorite food hands down and I think a lot of people will tell you that this taste like literally always tell myself ice cream so good because it's sweet and it's cold but then you got to remind yourself when it hits my stomach it turns into a hot sugary liquid so good and there's I mean the dryers. No sugar added ice cream great. It doesn't taste like diet ice cream essentially taste like ice cream but again like you said it's it's what your calories are. The I know that ice cream vets every night. My ice cream cone fits at almost every night. If it doesn't then I skip it or have less. Do we love beef. Do you find that you eat less beef. No well yeah I a lot of chicken more leaner meat Turkey chicken letting game lot of game. I for a long time when you my protein was higher than it was before I started tracking because protein keeps you. Fuller are longer. There's it also has some hormonal releases. When you chew protein. It keeps you fuller longer versus drinking drinking protein. What have you learned about the they're supposedly a hormone released from it from actually the chewing part of it and then again. I'm no expert vert and a lot of this stuff has come from hearing other people talk or hearing or social media in googling but there's also your body burns more calories digesting passing protein versus digesting liquid so if you're drinking protein shakes feeling full or not feeling well. Chu Chu your protein and it keeps you fuller longer because you're getting that satisfaction chewing Will you know you mentioned that about You know. I'm not an expert but don't you don't you. I think that the trend has been at least lately like within the last ten years was social media and stuff like that you pull that down a little bit. If you want to. just write about their. Don't you think there's been a big shift in. I don't think there's maybe have a business. You'RE GONNA go get your your trainer's license and you're gonNA. Go Get your dietician. You know degree or whatever the hell it is but there's so many people out there now that are influencing people on instagram and social media who or basically just giving out life experience. I learned this because I did it. When you agree that you can be an expert without having the education acacia behind it I think so but on the same hand there's also a lot of false stuff out there Franco yours like Oh my God. I can't believe people believe that I'm a lot of the Diet teas and if you drink this you'll lose weight. I mean you're losing weight because you're in a calorie deficit. That's that's how you lost what you didn't lose weight because you drink some magic potion you drink boss weight because you drank the magic potion and you skipped your five thousand. Calorie breakfast or you're replacing I my my thing was I didn't think my starbucks as food but my starbucks drink was four hundred calories choke and that is that's what I eat for lunch. Now is a Ford five hundred calories a day. I know but I drank that with my coffee and so or drink that with my breakfast in the morning and so I wasn't thinking that starbucks drink as food it was a drink and so people do that too is like little things like Oh. I'm just gonNA eat one piece of chocolate but if they won't be chocolate three performs a day and it adds up it adds up and that coffee added up. I mean if I had a coffee week. That's two thousand calories a week. That's a whole days worth of food and so it was putting me in a surplus or keeping me at a maintaining level versus taking out that coffee now now. I'm negative two thousand calories. What's eating so. Do you know what you're just clearly and you know. Here's the thing there's there's a lot of women that think they they just looked terrible because they need to lose weight or whatever and I think that you know it's all about how you feel you know because beauty's in the beholder whatever and so you know there's a lot of women that think. Oh my God gotTa Lose Weight and then guys are like no you don't you're fine. Whatever but it's all about your happiness you know and clearly you've stuck with this for a year and a half. You're you're happier. Do you know what the change in your body fat. Percentage was I don't. I have an APP that tells me but I don't know off the top of my head. I think it was about ten percent eleven percent so I'm down to about fourteen percent and that's not super accurate. That's you know via the scale and my height and it's not you know being pinched by Dr Yeah but I'm down to about fourteen average between fourteen adventures impressive for a total total weight loss with seventy five pounds. That's awesome and you did like over the course of a year about a year a little bit shy so I started January six twenty eighteen and by my birthday which is an August I had had lost about seventy pounds without starving yourself definitely not no fad diet fad diets new guilt. It was a big one line didn't feel guilty when I went off. I didn't feel guilty. I just Kinda got back on track. Do you just you just adjust it happens. Reporter your ass off one weekend and then you come back and you just like I'm GonNa. Steer back back in the direction. Twenty is what people call it right so eighty percent of the time and twenty percent of the time I tab Fulton Calorie are well lately. I got I got lately because of work. my busiest time of the year is Spring and lately. I've I've had to my rule's been more more like seventy thirty sixty five thirty and I have to the gym. I think I've been running but I've been to the gym like six times in the last three months because my work has been kicking my ass now. I'm in its its heart I mean I'm not gonNA say. It wasn't hard but what you touched on with. I I feel better and I think once you start feeling better it influences other parts of your life. My husband says I'm happier. I'm a better mom now then I was because I'm happier with myself and having motivation to do something motivates I think it it all affects teach other and I and I I totally agree with that what I used to. I used to run like a mother. I used to run away. I was never fast but I ran all the time and I was much better than I am now much thinner and it was it was that much and I know here's the frustrating thing about it. Is I know I know that if I just watched my calories a little better and I went out and ran that twenty five thirty five miles a week that I used to run. It would take a month and a half six weeks for me to get back to where I was like okay now. I'm motivating myself what you're talking about. I've achieved these gains through sacrifice so now I'm willing to sacrifice Moore. That's what you're talking about right yeah. You're willing to sacrifice a little bit more and I never i. I drove boven so I went. I didn't slowly step down. I was like all right. I'm doing this. I'm doing this and then I got to build myself back up caloric. I got to add more because I'm leaner my muscles born more. I'm more active. I think when baton training started I started adding stuff because I realized that I needed you. Do the cross fit to do and you know we worked out together and I know that you're kicking yeah. Let's six is too damn early I'm. I'm going to try to do that more often because I I liked it today. I got it done early but my gosh I used to do that in forgot how your core temperature is so hot south humid in the morning all throughout the day though I don't expect. I don't think I sweat so much more in the afternoon. When I work out in the morning really Oh yeah my temperature takes forever to cool down but anyways what I was saying was saying. What was life takes you a few weeks? No no no we're past that anyways but you you kind of experienced that whole idea and then you I used to always talking about how you work out across it but ding. You started mixing in that baton training. which was we started with weight not too much? I think ten pounds is what everybody nobody had ten to twelve pounds and then we were like three miles and then we built it up to six and then we added more weight and more wait till finally we were all at thirty five pounds and we were going ten turn plus every weekend yeah. What was that like for you having never done it before like what. What did you think so. The first time I ran more than a mile was with y'all really I had never never run more the mall I hate running and the first time I ran more than a mile you know I would walk a mile or Lou Koller. It was the first time I ever had more than a mile wanted to chime Kayla and I placed I placed in my age and I had never ran more than a mile so so there's your motivation right there so yeah and I thought I was going to die during doing three point two miles or thought I'd Keel over and then then started and then what that first day was over at Click. We did we that loop like seven time. That's awful awful. It's horrible. It's like arm just going in circles and walking around it sucks and then you get used to. Oh there's that rock that I just past ten in minutes ago and we do and I I think I started with full weight. I had my husband's coup backpack and he had how did all packed up for me and it was the first few times wasn't terrible. It was when we got. I think the first time that I was I really question and whether or not I could do it was that day that it was raining and our plans Kinda got cancelled and we ended up in the neighborhood and Komal trace and we did those loops and then we did. We went down to crack again. We went down to crack loops and that was my question whether or not can I do this and unbeknownst to me so did all the girls on my team and I think it kind of threw me that one threw me for a loop but I because we have that camaraderie with everybody and we already set the teams at that point. I couldn't back out and you said Oh I already. I already knew you're in. You're in you're in getting and so I knew we couldn't back out and then a lot of it I think a lot of when nutrition came into play and denise with stronger stronger you reached out to some of her other coaches and other people in her industry to find out who trained you know marathon marathon runners and then the ultra marathon runners and reach down to them talking about what what we eat and they gave us like a specific ratio on to keep our doc license agenda storage is full and taint off or topped off so that we weren't bottoming out at the very end and we weren't absolutely dying at the version over hours or days afterwards and so when that nutrition came into play was when we're we're like okay we we can do this. We did fifteen miles this weekend. We can do twenty we can do if we knew twenty. We can do twenty six and so that was because we knew that we could finish it. It was just how fast and then you know somebody got sick and somebody got delayed. Flights got cancelled and I'm so glad that we got out there. We you know we talked about this and I put something on a posted you guys y'all all of y'all were newbies. Rookies had never done anything like this before and Y'all are the only team that stayed together from June first of two thousand eighteen until March seventeenth of two thousand nineteen. No other team stayed together and I think a lot of it was we we all the four of us that live here and Patty is about to you know she was doing her own training in San Diego bless her because I don't know if I could do that Solo. I don't know if I could have done it. You can do it. We had that conversation recession. I think I would get in my head. I would definitely have to have a very interesting podcast or something going on during hours being alone but we all work out in the mornings together so we all and again it's accountability. We were all we knew that if one of US backed out that the team would dissolve or that we wouldn't than the other person who might be questioning whether or not they can do it would back out and so Mo- you know the four of us were up at six. Am every morning together for the most part and working out in so we got if we had a really rough Saturday rucking by Tuesday. When we were together we could complain to each other and we were text reds with each other? We could modify the workout. We weren't if I was in with somebody. I might try to go full weight or do whatever and hurt myself and so they were they held our hand. You know so and I think that's like a little bit of good analogy because that's crossing the finish line. We were hand in hand because we had I mean. We were rough out there patty tour shoulder. Are you know doing it and tour she. She tore muscle and her shoulder. That's Oh no so you know she. We knew that if one of US stopped it was was yeah we pushed everybody through and so we all kind of cross that finish line hand in hand and it was it is something that I've I told you I will never do again but I do miss that camaraderie well okay. Let me ask you this question to obviously the calm. I totally get the Camaraderie and Y'all are uh a really tight group. We Are you know what's your instagram Kelly Christine. I think is Kelly Christine. Christine House Christine Spelled C. H. R. I S. T. pictures of baton on there. I do okay so if you're listening go to Kelly Christine on instagram and look for her pictures. You could the team probably some training and stuff like that too. Yeah Yeah we have you had us on some nice little routes votes and some donkey's yeah yeah the hill training. I think really is what helped everybody. We trained in the hills alm Academia Hill. That's a bitch right for an at that that is a bitch and seeing it both ways both ways. It's not like you go down hill or up hill one way. It's uphill both ways and then when when you come back. I think we did twenty miles on that road until miles out and ten miles back in. It's like two miles before you're done and it is so this is it's tough. It's very mentally tough but at the same time you talk to some people about this beforehand and I was wondering how many people took that with them I so you know we sold this to people with the the idea that look you're going to do this and mentally you're gonna go to a place. There's there's no other way to get to that place. There's no other way to do it. You know you can do other endurance type stuff and get there but for us doing baton. It was like once you hit. Twenty Miles 'cause up everything up to twenty miles is it's hard but it's not holy shit. This is the worst moment of my life on once you get over that twenty twenty two twenty six and you're sick of the music. You're tired of talking. It's hot. You're everything hurts your chafing probably you or sore your feet or killing. You Got Blisters. It's like how do I get through this next six miles because I have another ten kate ago. Tell me about when you were at that place training wise when I was at that place was definitely denise. Listen to and we train a lot of train separate. You know two would go out and so. I got to know her really well. I got to know Tricia and Denise Woods really well and I think training wise. There was one or two times that I was like there. was that one time that it was really cold and it. I didn't even go out and I was like. I don't know if I can physically do this like it's so cold. I don't know what to wear. I was crying. It was the night before and I just didn't know what to wear and again. I leaned leaned on girls and we're like we're not doing it. We get to pick our weather while we train. At least we don't get the picture weather when we go out there and when we went out there we had the best weather. Ask for for the best weather of the reasons why I'm like. I don't know if I want to do it again. Because y'all talked told horror stories of either being too hot or too cold or too wet or we had perfect weather her will Kevin it was his fifth and he said that's the Beth what best weather he's ever seen for baton. It was great. That's no the day before and it on the way there those last miles where you can they said. Oh you're just the water tower and the water tower was like six miles away way but you can see it the entire time so brutal and it's so hard and it's flat and you can just see that water tower and you know you thought that water tower is like a mile away in that water tower are was six miles away one stretch where you come down the hill and it straight for two three miles. It's just a straight line. It's so hard art but you know one of our big. Things was at the very very beginning we saw. Ben from the the the Batanes survivor out there and then we saw Operation Warrior Operation Enduring Warrior and men out there that are missing limbs. Ohio and there is the there was a m we learned it later on and I think we learned at the nineteen because we were coming back on the road and we ran into one of the volunteers with Operation Enduring Royer and he told us that the man that we saw that had he was missing. Both of his legs was leading another. We thought the other guy was helping him but the other guy was legally blind and was so the guy with missing missing to double amputee was helping legally plan guy and we thought it was the other way around and that guy was being Mount Rainier this summer they were taking the blind man and to summit Mount Rainier and he lost his vision and we when we saw them. We said you know what we can't complain Luke. You can't complain. They're they're they're doing. It depended what seven miles this is here for his thirteenth year going out there at ninety something years old. He did seven miles so it's crazy. Who Am I to complain when they're out there. They're out there yeah and that's that's one of the beauties of doing that courses because you run into those people you see you see a guy on the side of the trail the side of the road with his leg off rubbing his stump and you're a mile like fifteen or sixteen and you realize okay. He's been ahead of me this whole time this whole time. He's been doing it now. He's gotTa stop and Rub his stump but he's going to keep going who who who the hell am I with two good legs two arms healthy back and say this is hard. You know it's just like suck it up and get through. I think people should take that lesson into everyday they life right. We should just it could be worse. It could be worse could be worse. What did you think about the one of my favorite things about baton because we're we're talking about doing something else next year. We're trying to plan something. We're a little bit behind. The game is here but we're trying to plan something for the spring. I don't know if you saw the post on Arndale rugged mountain man or we're talking about doing a semi difficult recreational type hike in the mountains towards still tough but we're we're camping ping yeah. I know there's a lot of Um and they're like ain't GonNa can't I can't. I can't with primitive we're going. We're we're going up the devils river like on Friday as permanent as pretty much. Get Amy No cell service. You have to bring your own food on about but what did you think about the fact that you're there with those the military like you've got active military people all around you. You've got veterans. You've got disabled veterans. That's that's my favorite part. That's why go back to Bataan is because I'm there with almost nine thousand people and half of them are active military yeah yeah and it's military's from all over the world. I mean there was French. I know we ran into some of those guys and guys that were there. I I mean it's it's incredible to see and I mean those guys. Those guys have to do that as part of their job to they have to wreck part of their job but hearing them say that this was harder or I mean it's it's incredible and they accept you there. It's not like Oh them against us and I mean it was. All experience was incredible. I think I mean from start to finish I mean from the opening ceremonies and the flags and hearing in the fly over the I mean the whole thing was I mean again we live in the greatest country on earth so and we get to go out there and we get to honor and I had never personally heard of the Bataan death march until until until y'all wrote me into it and and I had an I had an uncle I mean it was a my GRANDPA's cousin so I think my mom called Autumn Ankle and who was a survivor Tan and so and I would have never known that part of my family history. I knew my GRANDPA was in world war. Two and I knew that I knew we had some mm-hmm. There's a lot of military in the family but I would have never known that. I had somebody survive what I'm going out there to remember. That's pretty cool so doing this event led to the region. I one of my uncles was said. Oh yeah you know cousin. John was a baton survivor and so I reached out to and I met some his brand kids who had never met you know now connected with them on social media asking them like can I can. I send in his pitcher like I had his pitcher on my rucksack while we were out there and they said absolutely he would've loved that you know He. He only passed away a few years ago so he was probably on their when y'all went out there. I think he passed away in twenty two thousand ten maybe so he might of another wind. Kevin was out there at the time and he was and I I had no idea yoursel. That's awesome. you know the and the other thing that gets me is how many female military are out there in their you know their groups. They're going you know as a group of and they're young. They're so young I mean these these girls in eighteen nineteen twenty years old and they are out there curious giant roof heavier than that thirty five required. They're fifty pound rucksacks in their in their abuse and they're wearing combat boots and L. They're they're they're dressed by. you know regulation. I. I just like to get out there with them. That's why that's one of the reasons I WANNA go back. It's because it's like you know for for one day of my life. Throughout the year I get to spend eight hours this year but I get to spend seven and a half hours whatever it was suffering with these people who are serving me serving our country and show them the people that are still alive. You know what we're honoring these veterans but we're out here with you. Were suffering with you too because we believe in what you're doing. I I'm you know my I have my brother-in-law is still active duty and I think I I know that there is a young the young girl that we met that was stationed at Fort Sam when we were abused the last mile and she helped us and we helped her she she was by herself out there and it's incredible. Let's see they don't have to do that. I mean we chose to do it for our own personal reasons they have to do that. You know however many times beer or week or whatever they have to do regulation wise and they chose to go out there and being. I don't want to say taping part of them but it was. I mean they if you got to talk to any of them they I it might have been different because we are females else but I don't know how many of those boys or men were congratulating us because we're a group of five females out there with packs and I look at them and I look at those huge tax and or their rucksacks in there you know two times as my body and their stuff full and they're out there and I think it is an incredible experience and I think that honoring not just the ones that are no longer with us but the active duty and the veteran said are still here is what that is all about you know the fuse. Britan's reiver's that we do have but also letting them know that that there are hopefully more than you know. The forty five hundred people are half was billion. That's just a kind of a guest but I would figure vigor popping habit looking at the numbers like you know when we're in the staging area in the warning and you look at Okay Herald civilians and here's all the active duty military. It's about the same same size crowd you know and I think we had just shy of nine thousand this year. He was like eighty six hundred or something like that and and there is a junior. Razzi guys I saw a couple of kids one of the the one of the women that does a court coordinator for one of the judges a CVS judges her son and did it with a group of his friends. They're all ROTC and they did it. and they all kind of came in different times they weren't as a team there are team but not not one not a five person team and you know they they came in and they're all high school kids that they don't have to be out there. Were are you thinking about something like that. When you're in high school I wasn't and that so that was pretty cool to see but I think it's just that whole idea of you know we could go anywhere in the United Right states and we can go for a hike. We go do this or that or we can hang out but then you go there. You're in the desert high desert. You know you're forty. Five hundred feet something like that ever snow on the ground still at the top of the mountain is sons beating down on you even when they're snow on the ground is still hot. The sandpits thank sandpits. Were so freaking bad but you know it you run into people that like I remember when I was that when I hit thirteen point one. I stopped for the second year in a row or random Tim Straw who works Komal Cross L. Active and I've been working out with him since two thousand nine nine so I've known him for and it was the second year in a row that he and I ran into each other at thirteen point one. It was like a sat down I go. Are you kidding me and he was like like what's up. He's in his fifties. He was a he was a fighter pilot and so it says I don't know how many years he's done it but you know he just walks the whole thing and he ran into him and then I ran into was was delta. I called him dog but they wanted to be delta. I ran into them and Dan. I was like Holy Shit. I caught up with these guys because they've been running. I walked the first thirty point one who didn't run one step because I'm running the end as woman run and I did did and I caught up with him at thirteen point one and then we kind of leapfrogged and I saw some of the people I saw Daniel and you know and I ran into Gen and Priscilla hello and amy it's kind of cool to see you know we've all trained together for almost damn near a year and then to kind of run into people on the trail yeah was cool. It was cool. It was I feel well we were. We're a little behind but so we didn't run it. We ran into Jimmy who I think. If you handed out like your bad motherfucker. She's all she did it by herself. She unfinished those six miles that we were talking about so hard at the end. Jenny was by herself and I found that absolutely incredible because I don't know if I would have been able to do it and she is a living in this. I'm not saying this in a derogatory way but she's she's older than us yeah just as active as the rest of us she. She knocked it out. I mean we were all kind of I've at the end like Ginny Ginny finish because and she and then she walks into the hotel looking like damn supermodel and we were all dying eating the pizza and here she comes rose a lot of marathons. Did you know that I did not she does she's run marathons all over the world and she travel she her. I was very fortunate in I got to do all the training that you set up for the most part Ginny did a lot of her training in other countries she. She carried her weighted vests. I remember she made a joke about having to take her weighted vest through security and Security Kinda and so mm-hmm yeah she she I think she would have gotten the bad mother record just going out there and we ran into her and her husband a few times on on it you know passing each other and then she would pass and we'll I remember it was like in shit the late fall early winter. I remember you know we went to we. Were supposed to go to jail you. It was the day you were talking about round up and come out in Jenny any came. She went to jail. They get the message because she wouldn't check the irony antler exiling we would. She went there and sheet. There are no cars there so then she she checked it out where we were came back to where we were and never found anybody but did the whole thing by herself. In Germany I mean that girl that girl is deter. I mean and she did it. I whatever reason she did it for. She set out and I think that was. I think that's what sucked man as soon as she was. You know it'd be like if she could do it not not if she can do it. I can do it but if she's doing it. I need to do it like I need to get off last and be like her. Be like Jimmy be like to be like Jenny okay so let's get into the hunting party all right. I I had to share something with you. 'cause I want a Delo this with somebody that I know has a good sense of humor so last week. I interviewed Josh Kinser. He's he's marketing for big and Jay which detracted and he also does marketing for swagger by pods which they make by pods and rifles sticks for hunters so this is a picture of him in New Zealand. I saw this with the taller okay so I promoted this just for the hell of it. I was like you know I'm GonNa promote this and see what I get out of it because he we talked about in the podcast but we talk about New Zealand and Argentina in Seattle. I want to go to Argentina anyways. I had some anti tight hunters some Argentinian. ooh Anti Hunters call me out so I'm GonNa read these teams right. I'M GONNA I have not looked at the translations use my limited Spanish to say what I think they are. You tell me if you think I'm right okay so Diego Diego at a non Marino. Just put sad faces like he just put his face is like. Whoa you know why why why are you killing animals. this this. Guy Fed Ferrara Eighty six seventy the first sentences so e host they put up Volpe models threat done so I'm thinking he's saying y'all are sons of bitches for killing this animal and probably threatened Komo's defor. Meno scarce personas like you're the bottom you're like the lowest people on Earth rather it's fucking in Spanish from Argentina wrath yeah and then he says gay no Maehara Casinos but as soon as they associate solic- I saw break blasio. I don't know what that means because I looked fine but he's I think he's saying because y'all are like married to people that are just like the bottom of the population which I think that's what he's saying. If I'm translating that wrong call eight zero four great for eight eight three nine and telling me you know here's the mother then the next guy says Bolton Lazaro said Hosa PUTO reporters. You poor sons the bitches something like that. y'All that's Braff scare me well. They're they're Argentinian. The anti hunters like hit US hard Hashtag. How did they find you. Okay so the last one says and let me tell you what the last one game no. Miranda ed La Monta Alfie now say assembly Amigos East Ghassan Hashtag spoiler alert. I think he's saying why don't you watch the series. He's known Kalamata means. They never killed it or something like that. I don't know I could be wrong. the the final is a very friendly and say Kasan. Kasane is I can't remember what that word means but anyways I think he's trying to be positive. like it'd be wrong damning a hell for all. I know maybe I don't know I haven't translated this yet. In my Spanish is not that advanced but promoted this so when you promote you can promote it on instagram and because because facebook instagram it promotes facebook too so you pay thirty dollars to promote it to see where where's this going to lane. What's happened you heads? I've got six hundred sixty seven likes office one picture picture which exposes and if you have a business instagram account then you can see that it I've reached five thousand one hundred forty eight. People people with that picture at thirteen. People have gone to my no sixty. Two people have gone on my profile so that's potentially sixty two new listeners. That's how it works works but my my point is to answer your question. One of the country's I promoted in was Argentina so you being a angler and somewhat of a hundred and being married to a taxidermist. How do you feel about that. How do you feel about people like seeing a picture of somebody who haunted something say he'll the Buddha like son of a bitch were. Why are you doing that. You know you mother effort yeah so one of my I A win. The lion got shot and everybody was in an uproar about it. I world everybody. I had my has been business on my vehicle and my mom was so worried that somebody was going to scratch out my vehicle or say something to me or luckily I think in our area it's acceptable right. People are not acceptable. Says -CEPTABLE is not the right word but it's normal. It's normal. It's a way of life I'm good. it's gotTA. Watch his backers. I call his but it's a way of life and people didn't but we have have some giraffe hide leftover and I really WanNa make a person of it and I'm worried that somebody's going to confront me about a a giraffe and you know that I didn't kill the draft but I have it. I think people people who don't know take it to the extreme mm-hmm and we've been lucky where we haven't experienced it on the business page but I've experienced it with just day to day life people but like I said it puts food on my table from the actual meat and I say I'm not a hunter. I've never killed anything mostly because I don't like venison in all that much so we we can we can we can do something about there's every now and again. It's just not my favorite and I think a lot of it is I'm spoiled. I like I like access. XS Damn good. So when do you have access. It's hard to go back to venison once you have. You can't give up point yeah and so I I even taught my four year old. He will eat even if it's ground beef and tell him it's venison. He'll eat it more because he knows he's not allowed to hunt and less heats. It and that's Mike if you don't eat it. It's it's tier. If you don't eat the deer you don't shoot the deer because he's all about wanting to shoot a deer already at four years old one of his first words keep him keep him okay good. one of his words was dearer because we had a deer feeder in the backyard and now it's like he's not saying dear. That's that's not what he's saying and then he went to the back porch dear dear and I was like here. We go yeah so but again. It's a way of life when we were when my husband first started his business. I was newly pregnant and you know how it is starting your own business. You go through some periods where money gets tight. You don't know how the hell you're going the E. In Pay the light bill because you just started something. Nobody knows you're there yet. Yeah and our grocery bill was so incredibly cheap because we didn't have to buy meet the only meat that I bought a grocery store was chicken and everything else came from hunting and so it it fed us completely you probably for a year and so it for people who use it to put food on their table it I. I don't know how anybody can be against or if you go. You're putting money back into the local economy we an we have my husband has clients who donate the meat because they're blessed to hunt and they donate the meat to local charities and to Food Pantries and whichever else and we've had people who go to Africa and that that money gets put back into the economy me and hunters. I know that you've touched on it. Quite a bit are the biggest conservationists as anybody else because you want other people to experience it. YOU WANNA keep hunting and so it's like you know. Some people might say well. Let's exploitation. No it's not it's conservation now and that's because we don't always hunt those animals. Sometimes we just enjoy the the fact that they're there that were giving back to the fact that we keep a habitat alive for them. You know we keep poachers off of them. We you know whatever it is that you're doing anyway so yeah and I mean there's so much more that goes you know goes into it. Then going out to a deer blind and shooting a deer I mean you're putting money into the economy from buying the licenses and buying the feed and buying the feed from the local mom and pop store. That's you know that that's how they make. Their money is from hunters enters and I think that people need to open their eyes to. I'm sure that costs man quite a bit of money to fly to New Zealand Dan and shoot a tar and then the money that went back into the at the economy there in so not only that but it's the preservation nation of tar yeah because it's just like the guy we talked about this on the first or second. Maybe it was a second no third episode of outdoor. Your scoped so sixteen weeks ago. We talked about how the move long I know isn't move on it. was that the GO-TO in Afghanistan wherever it was and this guy. CNN had made this marker marker good memory nice impressive. My husband wants to fill. I'm sure he does we all do but you know this guy had paid one hundred thousand dollars on Americorps and the the you know of course the way they market that on CNN is hunters celebrating you know hunting of Marco Blah Blah Blah Blah Blah and everybody's like Oh my God. They're so awful. Fallen are the worst people in the world and it's like okay wait a minute that species was damn near extinct and then what they did of the Pakistan the Pakistani government came back and said look we're going to allow limited hunting of the Markor and that money Lee is going to be used to protect the species embryo back or the bighorn sheep same thing locally I mean my husband has inputs in and tries to win drying or win a tag every year for he has never won it. I don't know if we could afford it after if he did win it. I mean the hunt. You don't just to get to go out there. You have to spend the money for the Guide and everything it's a big chunk of chains and there's things and my my stepson APPs on his mom and his stepdad run wildlife partners or run so it's a man named Brian Gilroy and he you and I don't know completely what they do but they have exotic animals on their ranch that are not for hunting that are literally just to preserve the species. I'm joy into enjoy yeah so they have zebras and I mean Cape Buffalo and they have all these game animals that he and he won't even tell them to arrange that it's GonNa Hunt Them. He just wants to and he's an tour guys and I mean mom hunts and everybody Heintz and I'm he just wants to preserve the species and he's a hunter and they want to preserve it so that other people get to enjoy those things and I mean you're not going out there to kill the deer. Just kill the dear and let's rip. It's hard out need. It and let's just let's kill. Bambi divy seriously what they I think I m people don't understand I mean it's just but then you get like these too dumb asses in Montana that killed a a mountain lion. Illegally you know and yellowstone you don't you don't kill wildlife in yellowstone hello stone and then put it all over social media. What does that do to the hunting community in general in the public's eye especially the far left yeah you know and then the people who are on the fence about hunting you just did up for the rest of US yeah and then true hunters or true conservationists report. You know report poaching. I mean they. It's not just poaching. I mean in Texas. It's such a money business. that you know poaching. You're taking being food from somebody in Heinz ranches but you're you're being where proactive I think about it. We're we're trying to save you know. Keep it so that other people enjoy it and being proactive with. I I love watching or following a Texas game wardens on Instagram and seeing these idiots. I get caught with three hundred bass. You know I mean people people again are crazy for thinking that they can get away with things like that because I mean somebody's GonNa tell I mean other fishermen. You can't brag about it also not only that but the they say the average criminal especially murderers that was they make twenty four mistakes twenty-six mistakes or something like that so if you're breaking the law you're going to do something. You're going to something that you don't even realize you're doing. That's that's going to lead a clue back to you but you know I mean well and then at the same time. I remember one time because I do. CPS Law. I'm so upset about this episode of child abuse that witness and I was like how do these people think they're going to get away with that and this woman who has been a little bit longer than I have. You know she's not a lawyer but she's a professional team the CPS room I said how do they think they're gonNA. They're not gonNA get caught and she said because a lot of people don't and there's a lot of poachers out there humor never get caught and they're ruining it for everybody else. You know so what's your husband's. Lindt's business name is a business name. It's trophy artistry taxidermy. He is on facebook. He is not on Instagram but not not on Instagram instagram. When are we going to fix that when we get him on instagram social media guide doesn't get you. It could totally rock that for him I could. He think you need to do this. I really want to do a time lapse video on him mounting an animal. I think it'd be really neat. I mean I had no idea yeah what went into taxidermy until he started doing it so what made him say one day. You know what I'm going to become taxidermist so he was the catalyst for that key mice he's worked. He worked for the money for years. You know he was just chasing that money. He went he was department of Defense and then he went into the oilfield and he was tired of chasing the money any and not doing something he loved he was always good at art in school. He always loved hunting. He grew up hunting as always hunted gun in Bo. He prefers Bo nowadays but he decided I'm GonNa try this and so he had a connection and the guy who runs a taxidermy studios in town decided to take him on his own apprenticeship and within a year he started doing his own thing and about five years he's been doing it and he's. He's really good at what he does. He and he treats the animal again. It's about he wants somebody to see it and it look alive and somebody's grandkids to enjoy their GRANDPA's trophy buck or whatever they shot and so he he really you guys take pride in the art and he takes pride in other people enjoying his art. He takes pride. He loves when he gets. It's new different things you know he. He's blessed where he has a couple of people who hunt exotic. He just did a giraffe that I will. I'll take some pictures of Antigua and that was incredible. I mean how big of a draft like what size like a like a quarter mount or did from shoulder up so and the client wanted it most of the time it's just straight up and you know just the neck up but this client wanted it kinda coming around its bar and so it was completely early customized to what he wanted and one it was a beautiful animal but to it was an incredible. I mean this man built a a room on his home to display his trophies and it was an incredible piece in this room to see and again he went to Africa Ronnie put in a lot of money and a lot of time and a lot of things into because he enjoys it and because he he wasn't just I mean shooting a draft. Would I know but I understand why he did. It and let's touch on that perspective real quick because you know you like to fish. We like to fish for. We like salt water fishing. I think we're going to go. I like shark. I like. I like salt water all right so you're an angler so you you definitely don't have a problem using those natural resources for not only recreation but for food and but you don't hunt that much so so how is it. Let's before your husband became a taxidermist. How did you get into the frame of mind where you like you know. I don't want to hunt but I respect it would where because there's so many people out there that are like. Oh huntings evil. It's evil. It's evil and I'm never going to do it well. Maybe you're never going to do it but maybe you could still respect the fact that other people do how do you get there. How did you get there. I think because my husband was so passionate about it. I heard first Christmas. He got me a bow because he wanted to. Because of how excited he got it was something many shared with his steps my stepson his son that they they shared this bond over it and I mean that's just how he was you know his is Grandpa was a gunsmith and owned property and they always hunted and then his dad hunts and seeing that I mean his grandma who's ninety probably way still wants to go out there and shoot and hunt and I think it was that bonding that I could see you know I'm not GonNa say I knew I was. GonNa marry my husband when I met him but but I but seeing that he was passionate about something that I you know my uncle's hunted by my mom does didn't and my my step dad doesn't hind and seeing that it was something that he could share and through generations I mean from from his son who was seven when we started dating to his GRANDPA who was in his eighties. They all share that love and I like deer Jerky at the time like like I think that was the only kind of venison I've ever eaten users the Jerky or dried sausage and then he somebody started frying fry up some back strap and anything anything Fridays delicious strips trap or dove Do you think that hunting you know on on and I'm not trying to interrupt you. I'm trying to ask you a question while you're talking about this but for some people it's innate. It's like since part of my chemical makeup this this who I am. It's part of who I think. It's definitely my husband ends definitely my son both of them both of them are that's just who they are. I mean some people are liberals. Some people are conservative. Some people are artistic. Some some people are hunters. How do we get the the sect of our population thinks. Oh you should just go by your meat from the grocery store. You should kill anything and it's like okay. Do you realize how they kill cows. Do you realize how they they kill chickens. Do you realize how they live. How do we get those people to see what you see. As a as a Fisher Angler fisherwoman went a non hunter and I'm not saying you're a non hundred you just. It's not something you enjoy. How do we get people that are on the fence to think about it like you do. Like what do we do. How do we approach those people. How do we plan to write seed. I don't know because I think that there are so many I think that once people go out there Aaron do it or see it or just talk to somebody and I mean I hope that maybe you open. Somebody's eyes one day but people who do people who eat meat but don't believe that you should hide. That's mind boggling hypocrite in the world like what. What do you think your meat comes from. I mean solar is killing the minimal. I had a really liberal professor in college told me that the fear ear that the animal experiences before it dies your body absorbs it abs say that word like absorbs the energy and that's what makes you feel bad like the animals like aura because they were scared before they died gets transferred into the meat and then you eat it and matt why it's an interesting. I literally have not felt bad about killing. Something was gonna eat since I was twelve. I don't think I don't I don't think my son will ever feel bad about killing something that he is going to eat well. We used to raise rabbits and there's a certain way that you at the pet narrative project project Pat Riot Brunswick. Not There's a certain way that you dispatch rabbit yeah. I'M GONNA get into it right now but it's like you know once. I learned how to do that and get over it. I I don't feel one bit of remorse when I kill an animal that I know either me or my wife or my kids are gonna eat remorse so that professor to me is just full shit. Well I remember. I told her I said well when my uncle shoot that deer deers happy in the field they make a clean shot then he was happy. When it died it was eating some Gore and it was it went down like that. It absorbed like had some journal. Beforehand but I think I mean that's that if you're a really strict vegetarian for personal or religious just reasons and you don't think that people should want. I can understand your point of view. Do I agree with it no but I can understand it. Probably you understand understand that like 'cause I mean if you look at the chemical makeup of the human being you need you. You have to have protein. We have those flat teeth in the back of her mouth reason right exactly exactly so we even have incisors yeah. I mean the how do you. How do you deal with it. I mean you're in a macro issue understand the chemical makeup calorie. How do you talk to somebody. WHO SAYS WE'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO EAT meat? I mean I I don't talk to him but I I understand. I don't think I have any vegetarian friends. I mean I might eight out there somewhere but I at least not being hypocritical. At least they're not okay I can buy that. These are not being a hypocrite and saying 'cause I would rather eat the wild Turkey when you watch some of those and I know Peter Turns things around but when you watch some of those videos on like chickens were slaughter houses in makes you it makes you question it for a second so I would would much rather eat game than some like a one hundred percent behind you one okay. I agree with that. It's of animals bothers others me. Yes it does but you know what we can. We can go on for hours about this and you know we don't have it but let's think about this some billion people right yeah what Muslims people eat not here in the states but what am I supposed to do they. They eat food that is farmed yeah. Take away the farming. What are those people can eat nothing. They're all going to die so what they do. What they've done with protein is figured out how to farm it so we can feed mass amounts of people but truly the only truly healthy meat is lean meat right like what you eat yeah chickens wild game and lean beef grass-fed beef. How do you market that to the masses on a cost effective level you don't you have to go out and do that and so if they stopped mass producing meat and farming and mass producing rice and grains how many people would be dead within two weeks. I can say you know what I'm saying. I mean so it's like people that don't like hunting. It's because they don't understand that the world used to be if you didn't hunt it you didn't survive and my husband thinks felt like worst case scenarios like he knows that he can survive he knows that he can go out there and kill his own food if HP didn't exist most hunters and anglers if there is a apocalypse going to be the hunters and anglers that live longer there's a book he got real into it was like a traditional ways book and it teaches you how to use like the tendons for different things and he got way deep into do it and I had like pieces of deer drying on my back patio to use for whatever but good knowledge I mean I. I don't know how to go skinny dear. I mean could I shoot a deer yeah. You need to learn how to win. Wind'll don't know how he threw his back out one time and he was skinning a Cape Buffalo or some big animal and he threw his back out and I had to move it into the into the shade it was in the Sun and move it and he couldn't while I was waiting for somebody to come and help me move it into the freezer. I almost lost it. I always lasted okay so you don't do the wild game and I I don't know about Oh. You're done so you say you like to. Saltwater fish do okay so tell me a little bit about that. I do we go down to the big. Show little quite a bit that that's her spot you know it's national seashore and you go down there and you don't see anybody for miles and no cell service and we catch. I mean catching coaching bull while we've only got one. Bush for catching a bull shark from the surf is incredible and then you kind of scary at the same time because you're like. Oh that was ten feet away from where I'm swimming but right I do. I really enjoy salt water fishing. I think we're going to make fishing for my birthday this year. I like I call it Birch. I like catching anything we call. It perched shirking just I would you say that again catching perch perch jerking jerking all the way I like. I like jerking Turkey. Yeah just catching perch Turkey for jerking as long as I'm catching something. I'm happy so my husband knows like if we're not catching and we're out on the boat. Oh like he just put the little worm on just little hook and I'll just sit there and I will catch sunfish all day and be happy as can be doing something so the the kitto watches a couple of fishing shows. That's what we watch. We don't watch cartoons and my house we watch fishing shows and he can tell you all the different kinds of fish in Texas and what he wants to catch and he has a list best and so I really and so peaceful I mean the places that we go show little show where you don't see anybody for the entire time you're out there except the people who try to go farther out than you or we got the devils river which is on Amazon and you don't see there's there's nobody down there and so let me ask you a question about that because I did some backpacking a little bit and there was one point where my brother in a buddy of mine where in New Mexico Mexico and we were two days in and we were doing ten miles a day so we were twenty miles into the wilderness. You know it was twenty miles to get back there was there's nothing you know where we were pegase national wilderness and when it connects to what's the southern into Colorado and the northern New Mexico. It's like three point eight million eggers Ram and we were we. We were like at the top of where we were going on this loop and there was this trail that went off to a fourteen her. I can't remember the name of the mountain but as a fourteen thousand foot mountain and it was too windy because because it was October already too windy to get to the top and I'm what I say too windy. I mean like would you stand up there. The winds blowing so hard. You can't keep you can't keep your footing like you're a you have to brace yourself against as we talked about going to the top of my brother and my buddy was like nine going up there. We talked about going to talk but we got to about thirteen thousand feet and it was like we can't go any farther. We're GONNA get blown off his own but we looked over the shelf the slip into this bowl and we were looking and it sounds crazy to say this but we were looking one thousand feet down at these pine trees that were down there below us and the wind was blowing so hard. I filmed it. The wind was blowing so hard that when you watch the video oh of the of the what I filmed it ripples that's incredible. Women's loans are hard and I remember I turned to my brother and a yelled in the win. I was was like how many people in the world are ever going to walk to this point and look at this besides us even if it's ten thousand people when you think about that and the percentage of the world population is tiny and the truth truth is probably in the whole history of the United States. Maybe five hundred people or thousand people have looked over that edge so that's what I think about when you were saying saying we go to big show little shell. There's nobody out there isn't that one of the best things about being outdoors is that there's nobody else there. Nobody I mean compared to being down in the city or camping at somebody's campgrounds that you have to be on you have to book for the next year the day that you leave the camp ground mm-hmm and being somewhere where I mean nobody goes down to del Rio as much as they would. If that place was here it would be people would be out theros time and it's hard to get to. It's hardy gets you. You have to get you know if the water slow. You have to make sure you have your pontoon or you know you're flat bottom and there's spots and on that river that I mean it blows people's minds especially people that aren't from this area that you can walk up to and you can see like native American drawings and etchings and my husband has explored. You know that's where he wants wants his ashes buried and then when he makes me mad. I'm like I'm Gonna I'M GONNA. Throw your ashes in downtown Houston. If you make it through your body of the devils river a in writing your ashes there you're in Houston into San Antonio and spreading but he you know he climbed up there as a kid and he can oh yeah that cave and I mean they spent so much time down there and that part of it is still. I think it's still federal I know Ama- says but I think that part of the devils river still federal we own on land but nobody's down there and you get to go up there and there's again. If it was here it would be all over but there is this like waterfall that Um and flows out of. I think the Colorado and it's so you know that's how it was like that a piece in that you experience out there. I might complain because it's super hot or it's a lot of work. I know as I'm sure sure faith can agree with me on this one. It's really hard as a mom till like pack up kids and make sure everybody has food and the dads are doing you know y'all are getting being the fishing gear and stuff ready which is just as hard but it stressful but when you're down there in that moment or looking back on it and looking back on pitchers. That's what that's what our kids are. GonNa Remember Mike. It's not going to remember when I went to target and I spent fifty dollars on some new toy that he found on youtube or wherever he sought he's GonNa remember going down there and having those quiet moments those are the moments that matter versus driving somewhere or the sitting in the bow oh San without even when he doesn't he sat out there with my husband and where my husband has not shot anything and who he'll throw it in space like Oh yeah we didn't shoot did anything but we did this this and this and to have a four year old be able to sit in a bow stand for hours on end. Yeah I mean sure I'm sure they didn't shoot anything because he got a little loud at points but when my husband's no longer here when I'm no longer here at that's what he's GonNa Remember. He's not going to remember everything else and I think that's what more people need to experience. I agree you know and there's there's a certain point where it's like you know you had to have your creature comforts and stuff like that and you have to feel oh like okay. This is my home and it's comfortable this right. This is my soft place to fall and these are my parents and stuff like that but and I can't take take credit for this but I've thought about it before but I've never put it into these words of Steven Ella the mediator is says that the best kind of fun is the fund that sucks so it's like it's hard by Tan or fishing in the devils river. It's not easy work. That's hard. It's hot probably probably some at some points. It's a lot of it's a lot of work you know and then you're right there on the border so it's a little risky but that's kind of funny remember you know faith and I went on a hunt together and we went for white telephone Blanco but it was raining that morning actually it was really cold. We heard an owl headed up to where we sat. We lay down. I'm prone in the brush. We were not in a blind as she saw the biggest buck of her life. In person that morning she shot a deer and it rained on us for part of the time you know and she she's so never forget that same with kids in you know like you said they're not going to remember the toy you bought them but they're. GonNa remember the the time you were in the devils river. Yeah you know and I think it's incredible my you know he's four and I everybody thinks kids are incredibly smart earliest. You hope everybody everybody thinks her kids incredibly smart but he talks about things like when daddy took me catch my first fish and I'm like like how do you remember that. That was two years ago or say things. I'm like Oh that's probably true because he remembers everything and he he doesn't talk about He. He asked her stuff off just like every other kid but he talks about those he wants to go fishing. He wants to go hunting. He wants to do that and one like you said. He's a keeper on that end your vote for him. Recently he got a bow. He got a little learning recur for Christmas. He loves it he. He asked to do it all the time we we try to. We need to make more time doing it and again. It could be one of those things. I'm sure we could talk about forever but I would like the Hunter Yeah Anti Hunters I got into a debate with somebody on a MOMS group on facebook about he about the difference between him knowing what a real weapon Vin is versus. Hem knowing what a NERF gun is a huge diverse. Oh but people think that you should not allow kids to play with nerve guns because they're gonna see they're not going to know the difference between tween a real weapons we can do about. Oh yeah and I'm like wait. Wait my my son knows the difference. I'm sure your kids do too. They know I mean even at four years old. If Dad pulls pulls on a weapon his demeanor changes instantly he knows and so I could leave my my six hour or my ruger elsie nine or any of my rifles out on the kitchen table and nobody would touch him touch it because they know they're not only that they've all shot him except suffer the baby so they know what they're capable of doing. They all know that they'll never touch a gun again if they ever touched without my permission and they've all all helped me take those guns apart put together and then blow something apart with them. They know this on a fucking NERF gun they know and I let we let Casey shoot just with nerve guns all day long. I mean it hurts. You know. Don't shoot my face. Don't you don't shoot me in the face of the balls. Those are good rules but again he knows what it does like he he's he's gone out there and help dad's. GonNa deer and so he knows the damage and yeah and so I think that goes hand in hand a- there was like this whole mom group debacle and I was like my nose. He completely knows the difference. It just tells you how how uneducated people are zero public about what we do. You know what firearms can do and I mean that's why this podcast exists mhm because it's like you know if I can just reach one person a month just one person a month and show them you know hunting and fishing and conservation and guns and bows in all that stuff is not the monster you think it is yeah. You know that we've done something for sure. I think that my husband bought me around around. I mean for personal gain on guns because it's an appreciating value. They'll never lose their value and I think that as long as you're educated right educate your educate your kid I mean to know like your kids not to touch the weapon or at least how to I'm sure I'm sorry your oldest sloughed slade. Slade knows that's how to clear a weapon and slade kid if he needed to could use that weapon for Personal Defense Sixteen Fifteen. The fifteen fifteen years old will install knew how to do that when he was ten see. That's that's what kids need to know because when they're at a friend's house who parents parents might be careless and might leave a weapon out they'll know versus not well and I and I think that's that's the whole idea of education versus. Ignorance is like you know you're. You're not trying to promote oh you need to you know gun violence and all this stuff. You're trying to promote education because those guys were there and the always be there. They're always going to be there. You know there's there's billions of guns in the world and you're not going to get rid of them and so when the conversation that faith and I always had his way in our kids go over to somebody else's house and somebody pulls out a gun. I want my kid to be able to say okay. I E get out of this room or I need to you. Defuse the situation because I know how that works so that nobody in here get shot. Yeah and you know that's where I think. Education comes into play but you gotta think about their kids live in the inner city. They've never seen a pine tree never thought of that yet. They've never seen the forest they have no idea and so when you read these stories of kids that like three year old kills his sibling with pistol. Nobody ever told that kid. Hey this can happen. You know this is this is what this is and this is what it can do. Nobody ever told that kid that you know and that's why we need education an inner city kids need it just as much as country kids do yeah you know the other thing is just enjoying the outsource worse yeah. I mean it's better than watching sitting inside and watching TV or playing playing video games all day. I mean I would much rather go outside even if it's not with a bow in it's doing something outside if it's running around if it's I mean Casey my son. He cmih at the gym. You know he's an again. It's what they see what they know and you have to be able to you have to have something. I mean I love the fact that my husband and can take them out there to do that and even if I just sit there even if I don't WanNA shoot the gun he can. It has something to have together well. It's it's family time and it's it's bonding reading and that's the biggest thing to me about hunting and fishing. Is that how it brings your family together it really does. My wife is doing things that she never thought she would do. Oh my daughters are learning. Things never thought they would learn you know so well. Thank you very much. Thanks for having me putting my guest and you know you're so like what am I going to talk about. What am I. I thought I thought this is awesome. I do and I love. I love how we from. You Know Your Journey Ernie macaroni growing yes to baton wrecking to hunting. We promoted dumping it in the name of your husband's business again trophy artistry taxidermy website. Yes what is it trophy artistry taxidermy. Dot Com trophy or street TEXTER DOT COM okay. You're going to send me some pictures yeah well this work some of his work so I can promote it on the INSTA- face on the INSTA- face space to the book and there were also GonNa promote you because you have a lot to teach people I try. I I mean I know but it's all about education and I I mean there's far better people that are to follow that no more but I I know I have stuff. I mean I don't you think that sometimes when people see people who are like. Oh my God I could never do that. I can never do this or whatever. Oh there there model their doors real life. It's like okay. That's I'm not going to follow that because that's something I can't do when they see somebody like you. Who you know your mom your wife you work out. You have a real life yeah exactly and and you've done this. I mean I think that's like one of those things where people are like okay. You know not that if she can do it. I could do it but if she's he's doing it. I should be doing it kind of like. We're talking about. Jimmy Yeah Yeah I. I hope like you said if you can just reach one person in it's not even about it's not it's you don't have to you. Don't have to cross it. You don't have to lose as much weight as me. Just being comfortable in you like that's what it's all about is being I remember posted like a quote or something and it was people started treating. I felt like people started treating me better because I lost weight but it was actually really because I was more approachable like I was. I was happier so I was more approachable to people and that that was a hard I was like well. People like me because I'm I'm thin now but it was really like people like me because I I'm happier. I'm nicer to people I I come off yeah so even if even if you WanNa do it I mean you have to find your reason. Why don't don't do it because I did. It do it because you WanNa do doing because you want. XYZ So very well put Kelly van meter. Everybody thank you bobby. Thank you for coming on appreciate it. That's going to wrap it up for episode.
